You were a part of the small minority of people who actually loved their job.
The concept of this was strange to most people — strangers making small talk, men asking introductory questions on dates, even your own parents. Maybe because it wasn’t exactly a career; more so a job that someone has as a way to make rent while getting their degree, which is how you originally began to work at Earth's Laughter Florists. College had been years ago for you now, and yet you stayed behind the counter, making bouquets for customers with a genuine smile on your face. It got to the point that when the old owner decided it was time to retire, she chose you to take over. Of course, you immediately accepted; this job was the best part of your day. While all of your friends were going insane with their office jobs, you… admittedly still went insane from time to time, just in a much prettier workplace.
You had even taken it upon yourself to learn flower language: different types of flowers having different symbolic meanings. It was almost like extra credit. It gave you a new challenge of arranging flowers while keeping both color and symbolism in mind, and helped you create bouquets and arrangements with more meaning. This, in turn, gave your customers a new incentive to buy different flowers for different occasions based on what they meant. More business for you, more smiles on people's faces, and more money in your pocket. Everyone wins.
Another benefit of the job — your favorite part — was that it gave you small glimpses into the lives of other people. Flowers had a multiplicity of sorts. They were so versatile that people bought from you for almost every occasion. Weddings, funerals, birthdays, dance recitals, you name it. It made you more appreciative of others. Every day was a new insight into whatever your customers had going on. And today was no exception.
You arrived an hour before the store opened, as usual. You went into the back and threw on your apron, adjusting your name tag. Thoughts of everything you had to do before opening ran through your head, and you quickly began to busy yourself with everything from giving some flowers new vases of water to following up on an order for a wedding. Your two coworkers came in around a half an hour after your arrival, donning their aprons, saying their hellos, and also beginning their day. When the time finally came, you flipped around the sign hanging from the door, telling everyone outside you were open. You stood behind the counter and waited.
And waited.
And waited.
One of the only downsides of your job was that it required a lot of patience.
It's not like you were just staring at the clock, biding your time until a customer entered. You still had work to get done, mostly tying up loose ends from what you didn't finish before. Your coworkers were occupied with a tall order of arrangements, so they stuck to the back, with the occasional popping in to ask if you needed assistance. Politely, you declined.
Mundane was the word that kept repeating itself in your head as you did your odd jobs around the store. Not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, mundane meant nothing horrible was occurring (even though it meant nothing was occurring). Of course, mundane never does last long.
You had just finished creating an arrangement to put on display when your first customer of the day walked in.
The bell above the door rang, and you quickly walked back over to where you were supposed to be standing, not even bothering to see who had walked in until you were behind the counter.
The first thing you noticed was that he was taller than you had expected, with long brown curls that fell down to his shoulders. His outfit, a black turtleneck, a brown leather jacket, and black jeans, was the right mix of formal and casual; you could tell he had somewhere to be, but with people that wouldn't mind if he laughed a little too loudly.
To top it all off, he was handsome. You couldn't pull your gaze from him if you tried.
He walked forward, slowly looking around at all the flowers on display until his gaze locked onto you. He broke the silence between you.
“Hello. I need some flowers.”
You maintained your composure and brushed off your previous thoughts. You started your usual routine, asking him the same questions to get to know the situation (and him) better.
“What's the occasion?”
“It's my mum’s birthday.”
“Does she have a favorite flower?” You asked. He replied with no hesitation.
“She loves hydrangeas. Blue hydrangeas. She always has.”
His immediate answer brought a small smile to your face. You nodded intently and began to think of all the possible combinations of flowers that would work well.
“You're specific. I like that. That makes my job easier. Usually guys say something like ‘I don't know’ or ‘the purple ones’ or just ‘roses’. It's like some people don't even pay attention.”
“Well, that's all I know how to do.”
“A blessing and a curse, I imagine.”
“More of a blessing, believe it or not.”
“I have a similar blessing, though it seems to be laser-focused on plants of all things.” You joked. “Speaking of plants, let me start on your bouquet.”
You left your spot, walking over to the wall of flowers on display for you to pick from. You stopped and stood next to the man, fixated on the wall as you tried to decide what flowers would go well together, in meaning and in visuals. Mumbling, you thought out loud.
“Alright. For his mother. Blue hydrangeas… that's gratitude. What can go with that?”
The customer tilted his head in confusion, clearly having heard you.
“I don't mean to interrupt, but what's with blue hydrangeas and gratitude?” He asked. Your eyes widened, and you turned to face him as you started your explanation.
“Oh, it's flower language. I learned about it to help me make more symbolic bouquets. Back in the Victorian era, people would use bouquets of flowers to convey messages they couldn't say out loud. Most of the time it was a love confession, though you could also reject someone if you picked your flora wisely. Individual flowers have meanings, too. Blue hydrangeas, your mum's favorite, symbolize gratitude. There was even a change in the meaning based on which side the ribbon was on, or if they were given upside down, and…” You cut yourself off when you realized you’d been talking for much too long, your excited expression dropping. “I’m rambling about something you definitely don't care about. I’m sorry.”
He gave you a confused look, and a small laugh of disbelief escaped him.
“What? Don't apologize. That was fascinating. I don't know if I’ll ever see flowers the same way again. In a good way, of course”
The fact that he was actually invested in what you had to say pleasantly surprised you. People — not just customers, people you actually choose to surround yourself with — would often tune you out after the first two sentences.
You knew this man for two minutes and he was already raising your standards.
“Well then, I’m happy to give you a new perspective. I’ll get started on your arrangement.”
You stepped back to get a better look at the flowers lining the walls of the room. You already had a vague idea of what you wanted, you just needed to put it into action. Hydrangeas were grabbed first, and made the focal point of the bouquet immediately. Other flowers were picked up and put down, a trial-and-error of sorts until you found which ones truly matched.
Occasionally, you looked over your shoulder to find your customer still standing there, spectating you from a few feet away. He watched you with a certain gleam in his eye, one you would attribute to admiration if you didn't know any better.
Once your selections were made, you picked out a plastic sheet and took the flowers into the back, where there was a smaller room with a much larger table surface for a workspace. The wrapping was laid out, and meticulously, flowers were laid down. Rearranged. Shifted around. After a few small touches, everything was in the exact place you wanted it.
You finally finished up, wrapping the flowers in the silver plastic and tying it up with a blue ribbon. You went back behind the counter and held the bundle of flowers up, pointing at each one as you described the meaning of each specifically selected flower.
“There's the blue hydrangeas for gratitude, white roses for loyalty and beauty, and belladonna delphinium for protection and well-being. You're basically showering your mum with compliments with this thing.”
“It's gorgeous,” he replied, the look of astonishment from before lingering on his face.
“As nature tends to be.”
“I mean, you can't argue with that, but the way you’ve arranged them, it's… stunning. She’ll love it.”
His compliment surprised you; it wasn't too often you got such a compliment for a simple bouquet. It caused your heart to flutter in your chest in a way that definitely crossed the border of the employee-customer relationship you had going on. Frightening. Maybe if you kept acting unaffected, it would magically stop.
“Let me ring you up.”
There was no true cash register, and you instead relied on a pen, a yellow legal pad, and mental math for customers’ totals. It took a moment, but you calculated what he owed you.
“That'll be $54.”
He muttered in agreement, and you watched as he reached into his coat pocket. His hand stayed there, fiddling around. After a moment, he reached the opposite hand into the opposite pocket. He felt around for a second, pulling his hands out and placing them on his hips. His content expression was replaced by one that was much more panicked.
“Shit. Shit, shit, shit!”
Your brows furrowed in confusion.
“What’s the matter?”
“I…I forgot my wallet back at my house. Do you take any online payment?”
You shook your head.
“No, sorry. We're old school. That's alright though, I can put these to the side and you can run home and get your wallet.”
He let out a frustrated sigh in response, angry more at himself than anything else.
“That's the thing. I live thirty minutes from here and I’m meeting my mum in fifteen minutes, and I have specific instructions to be on time. I might just…”
He stopped his sentence, paused, and took a deep breath to calm himself.
“I’ll find something else. Thanks for all your help, though. You have a gift.”
You caught the sincerity behind his now bitter tone, and it made your heart ache. He turned to leave and took a few steps forward. You didn't process that you had said anything until his reaction.
“Wait.”
He immediately stopped in his tracks and turned around, and you realized your impulses led you to call out for him even though you had no plan whatsoever.
Biting at your lower lip, you thought of an idea. You genuinely wanted to help this man give his mother flowers… The fact you found him attractive was merely an added bonus. Besides, the pity you felt for him overrode that. Once the metaphorical light bulb lit above your head, you spoke again, leaning in closer and lowering your voice so only he could hear.
“Okay, I’m not supposed to do this, and this definitely isn't a good business practice, but I can tell you're not just doing this to steal flowers from me, so I’ll make an exception.”
He leaned in as well with a look of intrigue. You continued to explain.
“You can take the bouquet for now, and then within… I don't know, two days, you have to pay me back. I’d just need a name and phone number so I can contact you if you don't show up.”
You snatched one of your business cards from the display and flipped it over so the blank side faces upwards, leaving a pen in front of you so he could write. He picked up the ballpoint, seemingly scribbled for a moment, and then slid the card back over to you. Written in surprisingly beautiful handwriting, you read his name aloud.
“Andrew… Nice to meet you. I’m Y/N.”
“I know.”
This caught you off guard. For a second you wondered if maybe you did accidentally give a free bouquet to a shady guy.
“Excuse me?”
Andrew’s mouth went agape as he realized the connotation behind what he said, and he quickly muttered an explanation, flustered. “Oh my god! No. Not like that. You… your name tag.”
A sigh of relief escaped your lips, and you gave him a nod.
“Right. Forgot that was there for a second. Alright, take your bouquet. Happy birthday to your mother. And remember, two days.”
He gave you a gesture showing his gratitude, pressing his hands together.
“Thank you. So much. I don’t know how I’ll repay you.” He said, grabbing the bouquet.
“Hopefully with money in two days,” you joked.
He let out a laugh.
“Money would do the trick. I’ll see you soon.”
“See you soon.”
You watched as he left, the smile of your face growing as you noticed his appreciation of the flowers you had arranged by the doorway. He paused for a moment before opening the door and leaving, and you caught him humming a tune you'd never heard before.
You hoped he would come back much sooner rather than later.

It’s your first time wearing that skirt. You’ve had it in your closet for two years. At least. You’re not really a skirt person but it’s cute. The floral on black with the zipper up the front. It drapes nicely enough though you’re not used to wearing anything so short. You have a trusty pair of shorts on just in case.
You don’t go out either. Definitely not to places like this. You keep an arm across your middle, gripping your other as the hordes of people make you dizzy. The shining gold accoutrement of the decor along with the waft of low music over the noise of tables and voices add to your vertigo.
The casino is busy and bright and loud. You stay close to your sister as she leads you across the carpet; ivory with golden curliques patterned across them. You’re no gambler either but you’re not there to play cards.
“I think it’s upstairs,” Roxie says as she looks at the tickets in her hand. “Gala Room B.”
“Oh, right,” you murmur and smile at her, “what’s the band again?”
“Don’t worry about it the tickets were free,” she chirps as you look up at her. You feel even more a child beside her; your height often adds to your inferiority complex. Historically, you think, those characteristics have been often intertwined.
“No, but--”
“You need to get out of mom’s place more,” she chides, “I could’ve brought Katie instead, but I chose you, sis.”
“I know, er, thanks,” you run your hand up to your shoulder and rub it nervously.
“Show doesn’t start for another hour. Let’s get a drink,” she insists and turns, strutting towards the long bar at the other side of the grand space. You trail after her, shrinking down even further. She turns back to you as she leans on a tall stool, “what d’ya want?”
“I don’t know. I don’t really...”
“I know, it’s one drink, how about a vodka-cran?” She suggests, “you love cranberry.”
“Um, sure, if you think that’s good.”
She sighs and rolls her eyes. She’s the wild one, not you. You know you bore her and since your parents’ divorce, years ago, you haven’t really hung out together. She went with your dad and you with your mom, since then, it’s all been a bit fuzzy.
She orders as you stand back, not wanting to get in the way of the people all around you. You lean back, rocking nervously as you glance around. You feel underdressed as you see women in cocktail dresses and men in suits. Even your sister is a stark contrast to your overly casual attire; your favourite purple cardigan and the skirt you’ve never worn.
Your eyes scan the room, admiring the golden sconces of bulbs that resemble candelabras and the gilt trim all along the wall. The more you look around, the less you belong. You don’t even know why you said yes. Well, your mom pushed you into it. Just like your sister, she keeps saying you need to get out more.
You rub your lips together and feel around your small tassled purse. It’s used, like most of your things. The thrift store is as much as your mom can afford and you still haven’t found a solid job. You worked at the grocery for a summer before they laid off half of you then did a one-day stint at a polling centre for the last municipal election. Even if you wanted to go out, you don’t have the money for it.
You pull out your chapstick and smear it around your chafed lips as you sway back the other direction. You stop short as you nearly slam into another body and you stumble out of the way of the man in his black-and-white suit. Embarrassment creeps hotly up your cheeks and you cap your lip balm and stand out of his path.
He’s taller than you. Well, everyone is. But to you, he seems huge. His suit is finely tailored to his figure though his hair seems to clash with the refined style. It’s almost to his collar but neatly parted, a shank falling forward to frame his sharp cheekbone. His square jaw is trimmed thickly with a dark beard, peppered with strands of silver and patch along the dimple of his chin. You’ve never seen anything as blue as his eyes, they are almost inhumanly vivid.
“Sorry, doll,” he touches your arm as he passes and smirks, swiftly turning his sights ahead of him.
You gulp as your shoulder hits someone else. You spin to face your sister as she offers you a glass. You take the red concoction with the short black straw sticking out over the ice cubes. You thank her as the chill seeps into your hand.
“Oof, look at him,” she leans to watch after the man in his dark suit, “damn.” You frown and look in the other direction. She scoffs and nudges you, “come on. That guy is totally stunning. Even you can see that.”
“I don’t wanna gawk at him,” you mutter, “he’s a stranger.”
“Oh, whatever, not like he’d notice,” she snips.
You scrunch up your lip and tuck your chapstick away as you peer toward the man. He goes up to a table, sliding in next to a taller woman with honey-blond hair and a shimmery dress. He rests his hand along her lower back as he chatters to her and the rest of the players around the leather trim.
“Sheesh, he’s fine,” she puts a twang on the last word, “mmph. If I wasn’t with Tom...”
“Right,” you look down at the drink and sip from the straw. You make a face and cough.
“It’s not that strong,” she slaps your back, “don’t be dramatic.”
“I know,” you clear your throat, “I just wasn’t expecting the taste.”
“Let’s go upstairs,” she points above.
“Uh, okay,” you agree to her sudden diversion. You suppose you really are boring.
You follow her up the curved stairs and along the railing that overlooks the lower casino room. Arched windows let in the night and the glow of the facade. You lean on the polished wood and peer down at the first floor; it looks even more resplendent from there. You sister puts her elbow on the railing as she looks around.
“We could stick around after, lose some money,” she says.
“I don’t... mom only gave me a twenty and I owe you for the drink.”
“Pfft, whatever, I’ll spot ya. Tom gave me some extra with the tickets,” she trills, “it’ll be fun. Play some black jack. It’ll be an experience. You could say you’ve actually done something.”
You smile, closed-lipped and tight. She isn’t wrong. It’s your first concert, for some cover band, and your first time at a casino. It’s not an exaggeration to say this is the height of your life experience.
Your eyes wander down and meet another pair. You wince. It’s that same man. He walks towards you, a certain swagger in his stride. As he peers up at you, his cheeks dimple and he winks. You wrinkle your brow and look behind you. When you turn back, he’s gone. Right, you’re imagining things.
Roxie slurps as her straw turns hollow. She’s already drained her cocktail, meanwhile you’ve barely taken a sip. She stirs the ice and hums.
“Wait here, I’m gonna get a refill,” she raises her glass.
“Oh, I can come with you--”
“Nah, just stand here,” she insists. “You’ll just slow me down.”
“Sure, uh, okay.”
You curl your shoulders inward as she walks away. Great. All alone. You avoid looking anywhere but your glass. You face the railing again and balance your drink on it. It’s not bad, tarter than you’re used to and a little burny.
You play with the black bracelet around your wrist, the band they stuck around it when they scanned your ID at the door. You suppose it’s a good idea but they wouldn’t be letting kids in here, would they? Oh yeah, the hotel is attached.
As a kid, you never went on vacations like that. No hotels, no casinos, no shows. It seems like Roxie is catching up on all of that and you’re just there. The world is so much scarier when it’s all a mystery to you.
“Excuse me,” a deep voice startles you. You ignore it, thinking it’s merely a passerby, “miss?”
There’s a tap on your shoulder and you barely save your cocktail from spilling over the edge. You clutch the glass with both hands and face the stranger. It’s that same man, with the suit and the long hair and the oceanic eyes. Something about him is familiar beyond your few earlier glances.
“I think you dropped this?” He holds up a chip with a golden 100 on it. You blink and shake your head.
“No,” you scrape out of your throat, “I don’t-- I didn’t--”
“I swear I saw it fall out of your bag,” he looks down at your purse.
“Really, I’m not... I don’t gamble.”
“Ah, well, if it’s just hanging around, might as well use it, huh?” He keeps his hand out, “maybe it’s your lucky day.”
“I couldn’t. If someone lost it...” your voice doesn’t want to go and he leans in to hear you, adding to the heat spreading through your chest. Is it the alcohol or him?
“You’re sweet, keep it,” he shoves the chip toward you.
“Please, I... I... can’t...” you wipe a hand on your skirt and clutch the fabric.
“Doll, I can’t hear you,” he says as he grabs your hand and dislodges it from your skirt, “here.”
He presses the chip into your palm. You stare at his tie then look down at the white chip with gold detailing. His hand brushes yours before he rescinds his touch.
“Erm...” you murmur dumbly and shake your head.
“My treat,” he growls.
“But...”
“Like the skirt, by the way,” he surprises you as he pinches a fold, “cute on you.”
Just as quickly as he appeared, he strides away, leaving you blankly staring after him. His broad shoulders move beyond a thick marble pillar as you hold up your drink and the chip. You just look between them.
“Hey,” Roxie approaches again, “oh, what’s that?”
“A chip...” you state plainly.
“Duh, I know. Where’d you get it?”
You look at the floor. Would she even believe you? “The floor.”
“Ooo,” she plucks it from your fingers, “awesome, “now we’re definitely having some fun tonight.”
“Rox,” you swallow and look up at her, “we should hand it in. It’s a lot of money. If someone lost it--”
“If they lost it, they can afford it,” she bobs her neck as she speaks, “live a little,” she sneers and taps your glass, “and finish your drink. Maybe that’ll loosen you up.”
You nod and recede into yourself, cradling the glass again with both hands. You put your lips to the straw and drink until you can’t anymore. She gulps straight from the brim of her glass and sighs, wiggling as she peers around.
“I almost don’t even want to see these old men play music,” she snickers as she takes in the expanse of tables flashing lights.
“Oh?”
“Relax, we’re going to see the show. You’re a horrible liar and mom will see right through you,” she sneers, “besides, I told her I wouldn’t get you in too much trouble.”

You were a business major at a prestigious college, you worked your butt off trying to get as many grants as possible. Even then, you still needed to seek out loans to help you in your class payments. Luckily you knew that if you wanted to take this path you needed to sacrifice a lot to the grind. A loud laughter broke you out of your thoughts, who the fuck is making so much noise in the library? You look over and see him, the ringleader surrounded by all his goonies, making you grimace. Derek, one of the top nepo babies at the college; his parents being owners of big trading companies. Rumors say that last week he couldn’t decide on either to get a Ferrari or a Lamborghini so he got both.
Laughter rang through the library again, why were they doing this here? There are literal private rooms they could rent if they really wanted a hang out place. Since you were a commuting student you didn’t have a place like a dorm to study in between classes that’s why you had to use the library. You couldn’t sit back and not say anything anymore so you walked up to the small group. “Hey, I’m sorry to be asking this,” why should you be the one that’s sorry you thought, but whatever, “I’m just trying to study and you guys are being just a little loud.” You look at each of their faces finally landing on Derek last looking at him in the eyes. His eyes widen and a cheeky smile spreads on his features again, “sure, if I can have your number.” You laugh slightly because you thought he was joking but he doesn’t laugh along with you so you gulp and take out your phone. After the exchange he leads his friends out of the library with him.
The next day after your classes you were in the library studying again. You noticed that someone sat down beside you and came face to face with Derek. “Hi,” he says with a smirk, “what are you doing?” You looked at him, confused, “I’m studying.” “Is it fun?” You scoff, “no, I wouldn’t say it’s much fun. But I can’t let my GPA drop so I gotta do it.” Your stomach growls, loud enough to be heard making you blush. Derek laughs at you, “come on, a bookworm still needs to eat right?” You were confused but packed up your things and followed him out to the parking lot where he pressed his keys and the lights to a Bentley lit up. What about the Ferrari or Lamborghini you heard about? Like reading your mind he said, “I like Bentley for everyday use.” He opened the passenger door for you as you sheepishly went in. The drive was surprisingly pleasant, the weather was cool and he had the windows down with the radio playing the popular songs, singing along to them making you laugh and sing along too. Your anxiety was raised again when you two arrived at what seems to be a restaurant with valet parking.
“Why are we here?” You ask while nipping at your fingers. He looked at you confused, “for dinner of course.” “I, uh, can’t afford something like this,” you said with a blush. His confusion turns into a chuckle, “dude what? My treat of course, come on.” He led you in and the host brought you two to a private room. You glance at the menu but don’t see any of the price tags, only stuff like aged wagyu. He looks at how you squirm and smiles, your range of emotions have entertained him since yesterday when you first looked at him. You were so different from him, constantly on the move, taking everything so seriously. What did it look like when you came undone? He was determined to find out.
He orders for the both of you and makes small talk to learn more about you, each word captivates him and makes him realize how oddly charismatic you were. (He’s already in delulu land) Each back and forth feels so genuine and like a breath of fresh air to him and the best part is that you would look at him when talking to him. When the food arrives you light up after each bite, never did your broke ass think you’d even taste food like this. And don’t forget the wine, you might have gone a little too far with it. He helped you back to his car and started driving, you had the window down and your head stuck slightly out and in the zone to notice that you never asked him where he was going.
He was bringing you to his place, leading you inside to his room, you crawled into his bed giggling. He gets in bed and hovers over your intoxicated form. “Hey, this isn’t my bed,” you slur slightly. “You’re cute,” he says. You giggle some more and boop his nose with your finger. He leans in and kisses you, you sigh as you wrap your arms around him and return the kiss. His hands start to roam and grope your body, with the help of the alcohol your skin feels extra sensitive making you whimper. “You like that?” He asks as he breaks the kiss to have a taste of your neck, licking and sucking with sloppy wet sounds echoing through the room making you moan out his name. “We’re just getting started darling.” He reaches down to your entrance, “look at you, you’re so excited to take me.” He slowly works one finger, then two into your entrance, the slow rhythm gets you worked up and you beg for more. Derek sighs dreamily, this is different when other people ask him for things. He wants to give you the world if you let him. He slips his fingers out of you and you whine more. “Don’t worry, you’ll be filled soon,” he slides his pants down and his girth springs up making your mouth water. You’re grinding against his shaft and it sends a shiver down his spine. He holds your hips in place so he can line himself up to your opening and slowly pushes in. You gasp as he enters, you feel so full and he did everything not to just ram it into you. You both fell into a rhythm, the sounds of skin slapping, whimpers and moans resounded through the room. You returned the favor and sucked on his neck and teased his nipples which got him worked up and he took your legs and pounded you in a mating press, the amount of pressure was dizzying and you found yourself being drowned in pleasure about to release. Your toes curl as you orgasm and he follows sooner after. You pass out and he looks at your sleeping form with his fluids leaking out of you. As much as he wants to keep you marked he gets a towel and wipes you and himself down before snuggling next to you.
Has he known peace like this before? His eyelids grew heavy as he listened to your steady breathing beside him. He was already convinced that you were the one meant for him, his one and only. He’ll take care of you from now on and he’ll do everything you ask of him. Derek didn’t even consider the fact that you might say no, because in his head he was going to make you his and it was your choice of either heaven or hell.

Sujood has reached out to me to boost she and Sanaa’s fundraiser. They’re urgently trying to evacuate their family from Gaza and seek asylum in Belgium. Their previous campaign was suspended, so they have started a new GFM and currently have £1,642 out of their £50,000 goal! Please share if you can’t donate!
From their GFM page:
Dear friends,
We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea for help. Our names are Sanaa and Sujood, and we find ourselves in an incredibly challenging and dangerous situation.
Unfortunately, our previous attempt to receive donations was unsuccessful due to restrictions on transactions to Gaza. However, the urgency of our circumstances compels us to reach out again, this time with new procedures in place to ensure the secure delivery of your generous contributions. We are launching a new campaign because we cannot afford to wait for a long time for the restrictions on the bank account to be lifted it’s already being two months now. We are unsure if we will be able to access the funds or if they will be returned to the donors. In any case, here in Gaza, we are fighting against time. Every day poses a threat to our safety, and we cannot afford to wait. If, after some time, we are able to retrieve the previous amount, we will use it to rebuild our lives and continue the education of my siblings.
The situation in Gaza has become increasingly unbearable, and we have been left with no choice but to seek assistance from compassionate individuals like you. Your donations can make a significant difference in our lives and help us escape the dire circumstances we currently face.
This is ours story:
I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits.
My name is Sanaa Odeh, currently in Gaza, occupied Palestine. I am writing this as a plea for survival, for a future for my family and myself.
Our lives are in immediate danger, with non stop explosions everyday and every night, tanks and guns all around us, and fear as a constant companion. It is a non-stop nightmare, every minute of every day, for 6 months. Everyday is a struggle for survival. Lack of food and clean water creating a crisis of death by starvation and dehydration.
Despite the endless nightmare, we are a resilient and strong family. My beautiful parents gave everything to raise us as successful daughters and we are so proud of what we have achieved.
I work as a graphic designer and my sisters: a nurse/educator, small business owner, a medical student, and a field coordinator. Despite being on the path to rich and promising futures, it can all be taken away in any moment. We have already lost several family members, including my uncles and their entire family. There is little hope that the situation will end soon, all of us waiting for our turn next.
We are looking to seek asylum in Belgium. This campaign will help support us in covering the costs to do so, specifically in covering the evacuation costs per person. Your donation will provide us with the chance to escape the endless horror we’ve been facing for the last 6 months and give us a chance to return to a safe, normal life again, where we can once again contribute positively to society.
I understand that this is a challenging time for everyone right now, but please do not underestimate what even £5 can contribute to especially when it all adds up. It really does make a huge difference. No matter how small the contribution it can still change our entire lives.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, your support means the world to us. Whether it is simply sharing our campaign or donating, it makes all the difference in the world to us. Your act of kindness can bring light to our darkest days and help us build a better future.
Thank you once again for all your support and kindness
With heartfelt gratitude,
Sanaa and Sujood

“can’t you tell i’m busy?” choso uttered through gritted teeth, not even bothering to glance up at you from his sketchbook he was hunched over on his desk. you’d been trying to tell him about the sweet old couple you always saw at the cafe and hadn’t seen for weeks until today. the two of you had become invested in their wellbeing and you’d thought that had been something he would’ve wanted to hear about.
“oh, sorry.” you frowned at how unintentionally pathetic your voice sounded. despite his cold demeanour, choso was probably the, if not the, sweetest person you’d ever met. he was always doting on his younger brother and showing up at your day job unannounced to bring you something whenever you tell him you’re having a bad day.
for all intents and purposes, he was the blueprint, so for him to lash out at you for no explicit reason was the total polar opposite to his usual personality.
“sorry?” choso mocked, leaning his head back to push his hands through his hair which was still damp from showering. still, he seemed more preoccupied with the ceiling than his concerned girlfriend who sat cross-legged on his bed, “geto’s going to be pissed that i’m behind on these designs and you constantly talking in my ear is not helping.”
after graduating, choso had initially taken on an admin role at a small tattoo parlour in town. a couple of months into the role, the owner, geto, had offered him a proper apprenticeship. you’d met geto on a handful of occasions and, from how choso had previously described him, he didn’t seem like the type to be annoyed over a few incomplete designs. especially not considering the additional hours and effort choso always puts into that place.
“you invited me over choso,” you pointed out. it was a sunday and, while you usually have work in the evenings, you’d been given the day off due to staff sickness. your boyfriend’s first message had been to excitedly offer for you to come over and stay the night at his which of course you said yes to.
somewhere between sending you that message and you making the fifteen minute drive to his house, he had a drastic change of heart.
choso sighed, picking up a different pencil to continue his sketch. “well, now i’m uninviting you.”
the bluntness in his tone had you blinking back tears. it was the first time he’d ever been so intentionally dismissive towards you. you didn’t give him the satisfaction of a response or an argument, if that was what he was after, and picked up your coat and left his room.
you hadn’t needed to bring over any clothes or essentials since you’d come over so often his room had designated areas for your spare bits. as upset as he had made you, you weren’t about to scare him with a breakup threat because he was having a bad day and lashing out at you.
“yn!” yuuji’s bright voice spooked you from your thoughts as you made your way down the stairs and you had to quickly wipe away any tears so as to not worry your boyfriend’s ten year old brother. choso’s golden personality was hidden by dark hair and an introverted front whereas yuuji’s was clear from his pink hair to his loud voice. “are you leaving already? you haven’t even tried my pancakes yet!”
one of yuuji’s incentives to attend the lessons that he didn’t like (ie. anything that wasn’t sport) was for him and choso to make homemade pancakes together. it was a weekly thing that you usually missed because of work and yuuji had been jumping up and down when he had found out you’d be there this evening.
your heart broke a little more at the fact you’d now be upsetting him.
“sorry yuuji,” his little face dropped slightly, bounce in his step gone as he clasped his hands together. you gently rubbed his shoulder, “i’ll be here for friday?”
yuuji scrunched up his nose. “that’s so long away!” it was also the day he’d be sat at the kitchen island with you for several hours doing catch up on his classes.
yuuji was the reason why you and choso had reconnected after graduating school – because when you agreed to tutor a student how could you have known that itadori yuuji was kamo choso’s little brother? you’d never been close in school so you hadn’t even known he had any relatives.
“i’ll bring you a treat,” you promised, making your way out of the house after saying a quick goodbye to his parents.
the pouring down rain coupled with the ever flowing tears that stained your cheeks meant you had to stop your car several times on the way home just to ensure you wouldn’t crash. each and every time you checked your phone to see if he’d sent you a message, apologising and asking you to come back (which you would have in a heartbeat). there never was.
you didn’t see choso for the rest of the week – not until friday, your usual tutoring session with yuuji.
he had messaged you a couple times, asking about your day and sending you several pictures of tattoos he had done himself which you always responded to quickly. but the conversations were short and filled with unanswered questions.
most days that you didn’t sleep around his, the two of you would call until one of you fell asleep. for the last five nights both of you had made excuses for why you couldn’t call.
your relationship was still fairly new and this was the first spat that you had had. neither of you really knew how to cope with the aftermath or even the initial falling out. you missed your boyfriend, though, and you couldn’t avoid this forever.
“is yuuji here?”
you’d knocked twice before the door had been opened by choso. he looked just as tired as you felt (you’d done your best to cover it up with a bit of concealer and highlighter), and his shoulder length hair was messily framing his face. the hoodie he wore was a matching one that you had still hung up in your wardrobe at home.
“no,” choso shook his head, “he’ll be back from fushiguro’s kids in about fifteen.”
yuuji had spoken about megumi a lot to you – his best friend in the whole world, he’d described him as. he told you he’d bring him around one day to meet you.
“okay,” you said slowly and there was an awkward silence that settled between the two of you. on a friday night whilst you were with yuuji, their parents went out for their weekly date night, so right now it was just choso in his house and you at the doorstep. you take a step back, “i can just wait in my car till–”
“i think my parents are splitting up,” choso said quickly – almost too quickly for you to understand – and his eyes dropped down to the ground below, avoiding your worried gaze. “friday date nights are now for marriage counselling,” he continued when you didn’t say anything, still in shock from the confession, “jin… he’s a good guy, but my mum is stressed with work and–”
“and she’s taking it out on the people closest to her.”
choso picked his head up and there was an unspoken understanding that that was what had happened on sunday. he looked guilty as he nodded.
choso and yuuji were half brothers – choso’s dad had up and left when he was only a couple of years old and his mum had had to single-handedly rebuild their life. he didn’t want yuuji to have to experience any of the hardships he did in his broken family.
“i’m sorry for hurting you. i don’t want to lose you too,” your boyfriend apologised and you made the first step on closing the gap to wrap your arms around his waist. he smelt like home, you realised, nestling your face into his hoodie, and you didn’t want to go five whole days without him again.
you lifted your head up to press one kiss to the corner of his lips, “we’ll get through this together, no matter what happens.”

"Over there is fine," you point to the mover you had hired. After ending things with your high school sweetheart, nearly four months ago, you decided to make the move to one of your favorite cities. The only romantic relationship you've ever known was gone, it left you feeling lonely. Instead of dwelling on the situation, you decided to make light of it, accepting a new job, and moving across the country. Call it crazy, but you couldn't bear living in the same town as the man who broke your heart.
It was a proximity thing - no matter how many times your brain told you to stay away, your heart wouldn't allow it. So, the only way to finally wash your hands of your shitty ex, was to get the fuck away from him. And that's exactly what you did.
Boston has always held a special place in your heart. Your parents were born and raised here. They graduated, meeting after college, and having you a couple years later. Unfortunately, your family moved to Seattle before you hit age 12, due to your dad's busy work life, but you always made it a point to come back.
Your parents referred to Boston as the 'city of love', being that's where their relationship began to really flourish. The love they had for each other inspired you. It was nothing you had ever witnessed, or experienced, before. To this day, they still act like teenagers in love. One of your main goals in life was to find a love like theirs. It was raw and real.
"Okay, looks like that's the last of it," your head snaps to the man standing in the doorway of your new home. You shake your head, almost like you're trying to push the thoughts out of it.
Clearing your throat, "thank you so much, Tony," walking over to your purse, and scavenging through it. You pull out a fresh hundred-dollar bill, holding it in front of you, "I appreciate you guys so much!"
Tony's eyebrows raise and a confused, yet surprised look takes over his face, "you already paid by card, Ms. y/l/n."
You shake your head at him, "it's a tip. I had a lot of stuff to move, and you guys were available last minute. Here, Christmas is coming up soon." Knowing Tony had three young children at home, it was the least you could do. He had only talked about them the whole time he was moving all your belongings in. He ran a small moving business with his brother and father-in-law, and honestly you called all over the city, trying to find a moving company who would accept your proposition last minute. Tony was the only company with the availability, and that you were grateful for.
Knowing money was never a problem for you, you went out of your way to help others in need, whether it be giving a homeless man a hot meal or volunteering at the local food drive. It warmed your heart every time you did a good deed, hoping your act of kindness would go a long way for somebody, someday. Tony gives you an appreciative nod, taking the tip, and goes on his way.
─ ⋅ ⋅ ⋅ ──── ♡ ─── ⋅ ⋅ ⋅ ──
It was almost seven o'clock at night. You decided unpacking was too much of a bother, so you ordered Chinese take-out instead. There you were, sprawled out on the floor of your empty living room, waiting on your dinner. You were still in the process of furnishing your newly bought home. A bit of a perfectionist, you'd sit on the floor for months until you found exactly what you wanted. Even though your financial state was never a problem, your parents still taught you the value of a dollar, which you were thankful for. Along with your father's amazing money management skills, you were set for life at the ripe age of twenty.
A loud knock on the door brings you back to reality. You knew your ring doorbell wasn't set up yet, so not being able to see who was knocking on your door made you feel uneasy, until you remembered your Chinese take-out. Not caring that the delivery man was going to see you in your superman pajama pants and a cropped tank top, you make your way over to the door, slinging it open. You don't make eye contact with him, instead you reach for your purse, fishing for cash again. Once you pull out a twenty-dollar bill and hand it to him, your eyes finally meet.
What a fine delivery man.
"I already paid for it," he croaks out, his voice getting stuck in his throat for a second. A confused look makes its way across your face as you and the strange delivery man, who apparently pays for people's food, look each other up and down. He clears his throat, "it got delivered to my house. Delivery guy seemed like he was in a rush,” he states, letting his eyes wonder around to the atrocious setting behind you.
“Oh shit, here,” you tell him shoving the twenty-dollar bill towards him, “thank you,” with one hand on the door, ready to grab your food, and close the door in his face. You didn’t care how handsome he was. You wanted to be by yourself, and also save yourself the embarrassment of your cute neighbor seeing you this rough looking. Spiderman pajama, c'mon.
“I was actually gonna eat it,” you watch as his face twists in amusement, “kidding. I’m Matt,” he introduces himself and holds out the brown paper bag your food is in.
“Y/n,” you tell him before taking the bag. Thankfully, it looked untouched. You didn’t know what it was but there was definitely something about this strange, adorable man, joking with you like he knew you already. It brought comfort to your night.
“I like that,” he shoots out, almost like word vomit. Before you can say anything, a cringe-like look spreads across his face, “I mean, it suits you.”
“Thanks,” you let out a giggle. A sudden wave of silence takes over both you, so you awkwardly come up with something to say, “I just moved in.”
“Yeah?” He asks, but it was obvious he already figured that part out. Considering that fact his eyes kept drifting to the empty living room behind you. Matt lets his eyes drift once again, but they finally fall on yours, locking you in. The two of you stay stuck in a trance for a moment, not saying a word.
A blush creeps up, heating your cheeks up a dark shade of red. You let your eyes fall to the floor and back up at him, only to see that his face matches yours. You clear your throat, “come in?” It’s a suggestion, but it comes out as a question.
Matt sucks in a sharp breath, nodding, as you step aside to let him walk in. You turn around and make your way to the kitchen, knowing the only furniture you have is the barstools, your bed, and a couple miscellaneous items. Setting the brown paper bag on the island, “sorry for the mess. It’s been a long day,” taking out two plates out of a box nearby. The only thing you had the energy to unpack earlier was your silverware drawer, so you open it and fetch two forks. Spinning around, and making you way to Matt, little did you know he was already watching your every move.
“I don’t have my furniture yet so we’re eating in here like real adults,” you joke, trying to break the ice. You quickly open the takeout containers of chicken lo mien and general tso’s chicken.
“I was just kidding,” he tells you, eyeballing the food like a starved man. “You eat,” he looks up at you. Those blue eyes had you drawn to him for some odd reason.
“Well, that’s the only reason I invited you in. You said you’re hungry, now eat,” you playfully order. He starts to say something, but his mind decides against it. He gives you a warm smile and nods, “thanks.”
“Any time,” you return the warm smile and take a seat next to him. “One minute,” you hold up a finger at him before running to the living room to retrieve your laptop.
Taking your spot next to Matt and setting your laptop in front of you. Big Mouth plays on the screen, but you don’t bother to change it. Probably the worst decision you made all night because the show was extremely perverted. You and your new neighbor sit in a comfortable silence while the tv show plays in the background.
“So,” he stretches out, “you’re from Boston?”
You shake your head, making sure to swallow your food before speaking, “well, yeah. I was born here but I’ve lived in Seattle since I was 12.”
“What made you move back?” The tone in his voice made you wonder if he was being genuine or just nosey. It was melancholy, that’s the best way to describe it. Like something was missing in his life, like he didn’t have anything to live for.
Taking a deep breath, you had to brace yourself every time he spoke. You didn’t know what it was or why it was happening, but Matt had a certain vibe to him, a vibe that you couldn’t quite pinpoint. All you knew is that you needed to figure out.
“It’s the city of love,” the words rolling off your tongue before you even realize you said them aloud. Matt looks at you for a moment, like he’s trying to read you. You match his energy, staring him down like he was doing to you, making Matt blinks a few times, attempting to look away but his mind won’t let hm.
“You really want to get your tongue underneath hers, too. Yeah, you want to get in there like a Claritin to just dissolve,” one the characters from Big Mouth sounds thru the kitchen, a bit too loud. Matt’s head snaps towards to screen, his face heats up dark red as he looks from the screen to you, basically snitching on himself.
For the millionth time tonight, your face matches his - red and flustered.
You and Matt chat for a while, making small talk about the love you both shared for Boston. He vowed to take you out to get more familiar with the city since you hadn't visited in years. Small talk turned into an hour's long conversations about everything under the sun, moon, and stars. You felt like you were catching up with somebody you had known for years. Eventually, Matt's eyes fall to his phone. 10:53 pm. He watches as you yawn, your elbow still propped on the table, and your head resting on it lightly. Big Mouth still plays across your computer screen, the perverted animation wasn't such a bad thing, you had forgot it was even playing. Matt gets up, taking your dishes over to the sink to rinse them off. The small act of kindness impresses you, taking him for the gentleman he truly is.
“Thanks for hanging out with me. I don’t know a lot of people here,” you tell him. In the beginning of the night, you wanted to stay in your solitude. It was an overwhelming day for you, and you weren’t expecting company. When Matt showed up at your door, you had no intentions of eating dinner with him, but you’re glad you did. His company gave you some type of comfort. Even though there wasn’t a lot said between you two, besides random chit-chat, you were grateful he interrupted your night.
Matt leans against the counter, “thanks for having me. I’m right next door so if you ever want to hang out,” he trails on, indicating he had a good night too.
“It’s the least I can do,” you tell him, “especially since you paid for it. Thanks again, by the way.” You weren’t used to having anyone, except your dad, pay for things. Even when you were with your ex, it was a routine you always paid for everything. It didn’t matter if it was dinner and a movie or something more expensive. Hell, you even got his car out of impound before, and that was easily seven hundred dollars. It all went unnoticed with him.
“Well, I seen you moving in earlier. I wanted to come over, but I didn’t want to be a bother,” he tells you, honesty lace through his voice. You walk over to him, leaning your body against the opposite counter. Superman pajamas pants and your cropped tank, you fold your arms over your chest to cover yourself from exposure. Not having a bra on made matters very noticeable.
Matt’s eyes trail over your body, taking in every inch of you. “So, you just wanted a reason to talk me?” your whisper-like tone sends chills down his spine, peppering his arms in goosebumps. He clears his throats and nods. A flirtatious smirk pulls at your lips, “I’m glad you did.”
“Yeah, me too,” the mood becomes softer, and he searches your face with his eyes.
Courage sparks through your core, and you decide to test the waters, “you want to kiss me, don’t you?”
Your questions take him by surprise, and you watch as Matt fixes his posture, fiddling with the sleeve of his jacket. He makes sure to keep his eyes locked on yours, “only if you want me to.”
You press your lips together, “do you think I do?” Being a tease was one of your many talents, you were best at it.
Matt’s eyebrows furrow together, and he thinks for a split second. “Y-yea, I think so,” he stutters over his words. It obvious you have a certain effect on him that makes him nervous. Or maybe it was the moment.
“Then what are you waiting for?”
That’s all you have to ask him before his hands shoot out, finding your waist, and pulling you towards him. Your face is inches away from his, and he leans in for a quick, yet hesitant, kiss. It only lasts a split second before Matt pulls away. His soft lips made you want more, so you smash your lips into his, a little rougher than anticipated. Matt snakes a hand around your waist, and the other travels up to cup for cheek.
Your lips move against his like two waves that had been separated for a lifetime. You make a fist of his shirt, trying to pull him in closer to you. This was the closest you had been to someone romantically since your ex. The kiss was something you had never experienced before, being with your ex for so long made the spark die out. You hadn’t been kissed like this in years and you were loving every minute of it, but you knew it had to end soon. You were running out of breath and trying to breathe through your nose with his face so close to yours was sucking it right out of you.
Matt is the one to break the heated kiss, finally pulling to look at you. “Woah," he's absolutely flustered, and you loved to see it.

I've been in a funk ADHD wise so I haven't had the same inspiration I usually do🥺 let's give this a try
Steve & Robin r platonic soulmates & they're both omegas & they're gross twins with little to zero boundaries
They share the same piece of gum till it runs out of flavor, they've helped eachother build up a storage of tasteful nudes on their respective phones, when Robin had constipation Steve not only got the laxatives he held her hand in the bathroom, when Steve got food poisoning Robin not only helped him out of bed she helped him aim for the toilet or trash can, their heats r synced up in a way tht allows them to take care of eachother in turns, yes Steve taught Robin how to kiss, yes Robin taught Steve to use a knotting dildo
When Steve eventually gets kicked out of his house bc his parents want to sell it he just goes to the Buckley's with a couple of suitcases & one box bc so much of his stuff was already at their place anyway, robins parents barely blink when stobin tells them tht Steve is moving in, they all cry when Steve says he'll b changing his last name to Buckley tho
Robin graduates high school & then they're setting off for the big city so she can study linguistics & Steve can study cosmetology
When they get their degrees they decide "why the hell not?" & go to live in California bc neither of them have seen the Pacific ocean before. They end up in LA even tho the plan was San Francisco, and they both find semi fulfilling jobs. Robin works as an interpreter with various state government offices, helping individuals whose first language isn't English, taking some of the pressure off of the children in the situation
Steve finds work at a small hole in the wall salon that's been in business longer than the many fancy salons all around LA. He's doted on by the regulars, surrounding shop owners, and his coworkers. There's a small hole in the wall barber shop a few shop fronts down the street tht the salon has a friendly relationship with. On the corner is a teeny tiny burger spot that's been around since the 1920s with no changes to the menu except for price & it has the best burgers Steve & Robin have EVER had.
It's a good life, the only thing they want tht they cant give eachother is a romantic connection, but they've tried every app & no one seems to actually want a relationship or they get weird abt how close they are
Well one day a chipper female alpha wanders into the salon looking for a last minute shampoo & trim to keep her strawberry blonde waves healthy. The only person available is Steve & he does so well tht the alpha introduces herself as Chrissy & books an appointment with him for a couple of months later when she knows she'll need another trim.
Except Steve & Robin don't rlly engage with social media, they rarely watch recent shows or movies, and their taste skews between horror or romance there's no in-between. So neither is aware tht the nice female alpha Chrissy is THE Chrissy Munson, an up & coming movie star, adopted sister to Eddie Munson the lead guitar of world famous metal/rock band Corroded Coffin, and someone very fussy abt her hair.
Chrissy comes back for her next appointment & at the end she point blank asks him if he'd like to be the only person doing her hair for the next 8 months, he asks her why & she realizes he genuinely has no idea who she is, so she explains & tht she has a production filming soon & she wants him to handle hair at the end of the day to wash out all of the gunk that gets into it for filming
Steve says yes only after the salon owner & regulars tell him to say yes & tht there will b a job waiting for him when he's done
Blah blah blah
Steddie meet & fall in love then buckingham meet & fall in love
scarily close stobin is my favorite flavor! and of course all steddie needs a side helping of buckingham🥰💕💕

Jiaoqiu x Reader
Tumblr media
You have known Jiaoqiu since childhood. You liked his mischievous and cunning nature, and it’s not surprising, because he is a fox, and although you are a long-liver, you are an ordinary person from Yaoqin.
As the years passed, although you were friends, as you grew older you were busy with your work. Jiaoqiu as a healer in the alchemy commission, and you as the owner of a small traditional-style cafe. Over the years, Jiaoqiu matured and no matter how you look at it, he was still an enviably handsome man. It would be a lie to say that you liked him too, but remembering his character at times... Yes, it’s better that you don’t need such a thorn in the form of a sly fox who always loves to tease.
Later, you were stunned by the news that he would quit his business due to a broken heart. You tried to support him, to bring clarity to his clouded mind from love, but in the end you had a big quarrel, which is why your long-term friendship collapsed.
Even if Jiaoqiu later realized his mistake, he understood that you were unlikely to accept his apology, because then he told you a lot of unnecessary things, which he really shouldn’t have done. And although he smiled at others with his signature grin, when he saw you, this smile disappeared. He felt very bad at heart for his words.
At some point, he even came to terms with the fact that he had lost someone so close to whom he would trust his life. Until one day you came to his pharmacy.
There was no face on you. My eyes were swollen from crying, black circles under my eyes from insomnia, and I just looked tired. Jiaoqiu was horrified to see you like this. The smile that always accompanied him disappeared.
- (Y/N)? - the fox hesitantly pronounced your name. You didn’t look like yourself, even if it was that you were offended by him, you weren’t so upset. What happened to you while you were quarreling?
To be honest, you didn’t want to come to him, especially in this form, but you knew that the only person (fox) you could trust was Jiaoqiu. Taking a step towards him, you said with a voice hoarse from crying:
- My mom died...
- What?... - Jiaoqiu’s shock was impossible to describe in words. He knew your mother as a strong and resilient woman. He won’t deny that your mother scared him at times, but despite this, she cared for and sincerely loved the mischievous little fox with whom her daughter was friends.
- This morning at 8:20, my mother died in intensive care. For the last year and a half, she was sick with something, all the healers from the Alchemy Commission could not help her, - a minute of silence in which Jiaoqiu did not believe your words. -... I don’t believe... I don’t believe that she died!
Falling to your knees, you began to cry hysterically again. You didn’t want to believe that such a strong and healthy person like your mother died from illness. She had never in her life complained that something hurt her or that she felt bad. Even the commission’s doctors were surprised at how strong your mother’s body was, with all this amazing willpower that helped her in the fight against the disease, but even this did not help. Experienced doctors, a strong body and the desire to live next to her beloved daughter did not help her overcome the disease.
Jiaoqiu himself didn’t fully believe in your words, but seeing how you were crying hysterically and didn’t believe what happened, the only thing he did at that moment was hug you. When you lose someone close, it is a terrible pain that even time cannot heal. He knew that you were strong, that perhaps you could cope with the loss, because your parents passed on two strengths to you: your mother’s perseverance and your father’s patience.
Jiaoqiu hugged you until you fell asleep from powerlessness. Taking you in his arms, he carried you to his home so that you could rest, although looking at your condition, he understood that you wouldn’t be able to rest much, so he decided to stay next to you in order to calm or support you if something happened.
As you understand, the situation described in the story is directly related to me. As someone who has lost a loved one, I will simply say: value the time you spend with your loved ones, because you will never know when Death will take them away from you. No one expected that my mother would die, even those closest to me, we all hoped for the best, but even so, an absolutely healthy person developed cancer. Well, I... I still don’t believe it, I’m still waiting for my mother to call me and say that she’s feeling better, but she won’t call me again...
Appreciate the time spent with loved ones.

“You are staring.” Barista!Jaemin whispered in your ear, making you jump and spill the hot coffee on yourself. Swearing under your breath you quickly move to the sink, running some cold water on your hand to, hopefully, avoid getting a serious burn.
The boy snickers behind you, trying to apologize and offering to help, but you know it’s not really genuine, Jaemin is just trying to mess with you, as if annoying the hell out of you was the best part of his day.
“I understand you are the owner’s son and you’re not really obliged to work, but at least try to uphold your parent’s café reputation.” You whisper-yells at him, glaring into his soul, hoping that for once, looks could actually kill.
“Oh I am. I’m making sure that our employees are not slacking off, you know, staring at our costumers with heart eyes…” There’s a mischievous glint in his eyes. Shit, he knows.
“I wasn’t staring AT the costumers, my gaze just happened to be there.” You defend yourself, too prideful to admit that you were, in fact, staring.
You were trying to convince yourself too, because really, you shouldn’t. Not at Mark of all people. Not at the guy that was currently there waiting for your pretty coworker to arrive.
“Bullshit.’ He deadpans. It was infuriating how he always seemed to look past your excuses. ‘Maybe we should ask Hina and see what she thin-”
A hand flies over Jaemin’s mouth, your panicked eyes meeting his.
“Do. Not.’ A warning. Too bad Jaemin loved the bickering so, of course, he had to poke his tongue out, slightly licking your hand. Pulling away, you shoot him disgusted look. ‘You!”
An awkward cough startled you two out of your argument, Mark standing near the cashier, shy smile and a gentle voice to accompany.
“Sorry to interrupt… But, could you give this to Hina when she comes by? Something came up and I need to leave.” He has a small paper bag on his hands, what you could assume was some kind of jewelry based on the logo. Your heart drops. Right, Hina.
Before you can answer though, Jaemin is quick to talk, swiveling past you and putting on his best customer service smile.
“I’m sorry, we are not allowed to accept gifts from customers.’ It’s a lie. ‘The owners are very strict about it.” Another lie, Jaemin’s parents were sweethearts.
The older boy’s eyes widen, a blush dusting the tips of his ears. “Oh…! Sorry, I didn’t know about that…” He scratched the back of his head, excusing himself and leaving shortly after, a dejected look on his eyes.
It’s silent after that, Jaemin taking the order of the next customer in line and you busy yourself with tidying up the counter.
“What do you even see on him?” The boy beside you asks, once he took all of the costumers orders, putting a hand on your shoulder and moving you aside so he could help with the beverages.
“For starters he is the opposite of you.” You grumble and he lets out a dramatic gasp.
“So you’re telling me I’m not your type?”
You pause, looking at him, syrup bottle midway in the air. Honestly, what went on inside of his head sometimes? You? Liking him? That’s the first thing be asks?
“No?” You give him a side eye.
“Damn… Too bad, you’re exactly my type.”
“…”
“…”
“What?”
Jaemin winked at you, finishing up the beverage he was doing and taking the one you were doing, calling the names on the cups. He acted as if he didn’t just drop this bomb on you.
“Jaemin, what-”
“The customers are waiting, come on, finish their orders first.” He singsongs, not looking in your direction, hands busy cutting a cake slice.
Hesitantly, you turn away, almost dazed as you work on the next order in line. Maybe if you looked a bit closer you might’ve seen the red dusting his cheeks, the back of his neck and tip of his ears. He slipped up.

Most people will have heard or read the phrase "You are closer to becoming homeless than you will ever be to becoming a billionaire". But I think the recent flood has really put it into perspective.
I am guessing that pretty much everyone, at least everyone living in the east of Austria, knows someone who was financially secure, not in any kind of debt, had savings, maybe even "above average" wealthy. And is now facing financial ruin after having their home destroyed. Thousands, if not tens of thousands, of people are in that situation right now.
For example, a family member of mine is a retired doctor - doctors are not RICH-rich, but of course, well-off enough so this family never had any money troubles or the like. A first, currently inofficial, estimation by an acquaintance puts their damage at several 100,000€ - entire basement flooded, large parts of the ground floor destroyed as well, the fancy kitchen they got only a year ago in ruins. It is a matter of if it is even possible to save the house at all or if they, people in their mid-60s, now have to rebuild or move away.
Luckily enough my parents can help them out financially if needed, but that will not be the case for everyone. Insurances pay out about 5,000€ for flooding. With sums like several 100k, that is not even a band-aid. I don't know much about the relief funds but to my knowledge, they pay a maximum of 20%.
If Mark Mateschitz lost his entire house, it would suck, but he would just pay some people to clean it up and financially would not even notice if he had to build five new ones. The money that disappeared from Rene Benko's hands could pay for everyone's flood damage several times over.
A "normal person" with a "normal job" - even if it is a well-paying job like a doctor or someone in middle management or a local business owner or anything like that - a regular, working citizen can never be truly financially secure. You are always at most one bad natural catastrophe away from financial ruin. And unless you can somehow work 1000 hours a day for 1000 years at your normal person job, you will never even come close to the wealth of a Swarovsky, Johann Graf, or Glock's heirs. And these people are still very small fish compared to international billionaires.
Tax payers supporting unemployed people are not the problem, taxes paying for catastrophe relief funds are not the problem, taxes bailing out rich scumbag grifters are the problem, and rich scumbag grifters who know every trick in the book to avoid paying taxes are the problem. But the rich scumbag grifters will still bleed everyone dry without batting an eye while families who have worked honest jobs their entire lives are sitting in their ruined basement, crying over destroyed photo albums and losing sleep over how they can afford to rebuild their home.

The cloudless summer sky shined down bright on you as you hurried to get to work. The heat wave brought long days and even shorter nights, construction paused and everyone stayed indoors with their a/c on full blast. Unlucky for you, the small ice cream shop you worked at had no air conditioning as of three days ago and your shift just happened to be on one of the hottest days of the week.
You shouldn’t complain, you’re grateful that you were even able to get a job just for the summer while you were back home and on break from school, plus the owners were this cute couple who welcomed you with open arms and were always so friendly towards you. You shouldn’t complain but, damn this heat.
You were able to work five days out of the week which was also very generous given that you were part time, and it didn’t hurt that on most of the days that you worked the owner's son would stop by to help out too. Tooru Oikawa, pride and joy of his parents and one hundred percent, without a doubt, off limits.
The second you met him you figured out pretty quickly just how overbearing his parents were about him, instantly boasting about how great he is. Apparently, he’s some hot shot volleyball player for his own college, you were able to surmise that he’s captain from the team and that his parents absolutely hate all the little fangirls he always has all over him, his mom quickly mentioning that everytime she sees a photo of him with girls falling off his arms she always comments a thumbs down emoji which you couldn’t help but laugh at the thought.
You couldn’t overlook the quick jabs about his ex either, his mom being very vocal about how she was never good enough for their “beautiful baby boy” and his father just huffing out an unamused sigh when Oikawa somewhat defends her. You mentally noted everything, making sure to stay in their good graces while you worked alongside him. You made sure not to ask for help from him too much or kept yourself busy so you were never stagnant and just standing around him where his parents could give a questioning look or comment. As subtle as you thought you were being Oikawa saw right through it, easily catching on to how careful you were being. He thought you were cute, definitely not like the girls at his school who just threw themselves at him whenever they had the chance. It was refreshing, and during this heat he needed something to cool down and you were now his drink of choice.
The ding of the door chimed in your ears as you walked in, the thick air from inside the store somehow feeling warmer than outside. You huffed out a sigh while walking around to the back making sure to say hello to both of the owners before stopping in your tracks, in the small section of the back of the store was a table and a few chairs meant to be an area for employee’s to take their breaks and where bags and belongings can go with a few hooks spaced out on the wall. Your eyes met with his, a small smirk taking place on his face as he watched you frozen. Your expression was cute, eyes as big as a doe’s would be while standing rigid in the doorway. “Don’t look so surprised, you’ll make me feel bad for being here,” he chuckles while leaning back in the chair, his foot popping up on his knee as he gets more comfortable.
“You weren’t scheduled for today.” You quickly state, moving to place your bag on one of the hooks and sliding your phone out of your back pocket to place it on the charger. You turn back to find Oikawa swiveling in his chair to face you, him not even trying to hide the fact that he’s checking you out. He looked at you from head to toe, how short the shorts you wore were and the way they hugged your ass, your shirt showing just enough cleavage to know his mother would pop a blood vessel if she saw it and the slight sheen of sweat he can see due to the a/c crapping out a few days ago. The thoughts of what you’d look like panting for him crossed his mind and made his pants tighter, a small clear of your throat brought him back almost as if you already knew what he was thinking. A shameless smile crossed his lips as he stood up and passed by you without saying a word.
~~
Thirty minutes in and you already wanted to shrivel up and die, you were using an empty envelope to fan yourself off but even then that didn’t seem to work because all you were doing was pushing more hot air into your face. At this point you were ready to jump into the ice cream display, who cares if you’d be sticky at least you’ll be cold and sticky.
Glancing over to the empty parking lot you decide to sneak off towards the back while making sure to grab the containers for the toppings, if you’re going to sneak off might as well do a little bit of work while you’re at it. A giant walk-in freezer is your only saving grace as you tug on the heavy handle, making sure to keep it cracked as to not lock you in because as much as you like the cold you don’t want to be one with the ice cream.
The gust of cold air as you walk-in feels as if you died and went to heaven, immediately your hands reached the hem of your shirt to fan as much air as you could, allowing your body to feel the sweet chill of the air. The subtle hum of the freezer drowning out any outside noise while you close your eyes, not noticing that the cooler door opened more allowing Oikawa to slip in while seemingly shutting it, the click of the door locking drowned out with the whir of the cooler.
He watches you for a moment, seeing the subtle sway of your body as your shirt rises higher up on your stomach. He smiles at you, he can’t deny that the minute he met you that he thought you were attractive, you were sweet to his parents and always did more than what was asked let alone did more than what you were actually being paid for. You were smart, already catching onto how his parents were which most wouldn’t, he knew this right away because he could barely keep a conversation with you let alone get you in the same place as him, it was charming how you cared about what his parents thought of you. That’s probably going to change after he’s done with you.
Stepping closer, closing the distance between you two, his arm snakes around your waist causing an audible gasp to escape you before getting cut off by his hand covering your mouth. Your body went rigid as you felt his breath hit your ear while a quiet ‘shh’ leaves his own lips.
Your heart was thumping against your chest with your eyes opened wide enough that you resembled a deer caught in headlights, almost immediately your hands reach up to his own covering your mouth. You could hear the subtle click of his tongue in disapprovement as you tried tugging at his hand.
You’ve tried keeping your distance as best as you could and ignoring just how flirtatious Oikawa has been towards you but even then this budding little crush on him couldn’t be stopped. Yes, he was attractive and yes, he might be this college athlete that you may or may not have instagram stalked on one or two occasions since working here and maybe the fact that he’s been off limits from the start made him even more enticing than he should have been but you will not fall victim to a pretty boy getting you alone.
Finally, you tug his hand down while taking in a deep breath. “Your parents-”
“Aren’t here, but they will be back.” He says as he grabs ahold of your shoulders and spins you around, your back hits the wall of the cooler, a chill running through you immediately. You catch sight of him, eyes locking to him but his line of sight went straight to your cleavage, then to your exposed stomach all the way down until they came back to your eyes. A smug smirk was planted on his face as he leaned in, hands planting themselves right by your head caging you in. “It’s your call, princess.”
The sprouting thought of being fired the moment his parents find out hit your mind causing you to waver in answering. You needed this summer job, hell; you even liked it even if you wish you weren’t being baked alive, but still you faltered and it was obvious to you both about what was running through your mind. You wanted to, fuck, did you want to but you knew better-
“The more you contemplate this the less time we have, so push me away if you don’t want this but I need to kiss you right now.”
Before you could even comprehend what he was saying one of his hands wrapped around the back of your neck and pulled you to him crashing his lips to yours. He was quick to press you against the wall but was surprisingly slow with the kiss, he was giving you time to push back, say no if you wanted to but it never came. After a moment he pulls away, hand still caressing the back of your nape as he looks down at you, happy to see your eyes clouded with need.
“We have to be quick.” You breathe out, a determination now setting in your eyes. He couldn’t stop the smile that was spreading once he heard you. His lips were back on yours, angling your head so he could deepen the kiss further. You open your mouth letting his tongue mold against yours as he easily pops the buttons of your shorts off, your own fingers quickly tugging his shorts down. Grabbing the underside of your thighs he lifts you up, pressing you in between him and the frozen wall of the cooler. Goosebumps erupted over your skin, the subtle cloudy air you two exhaled was the only indicator of just how cold it really was inside.
Soon enough your panties were pulled to the side and his warm, hard cock was sliding past your entrance. The burn of the stretch was noticeable, he was big; that much you could tell. “Fuck…” You bit out, wrapping your arms tighter around his neck.
“Sorry Princess, don’t have much time for foreplay this time.”
“This time?” Your eyebrows raised as you finally caught a glimpse at him. Suddenly the cooler seemed warmer than it was as you looked at him, cock pushed into the hilt, and that same cocky ass smirk plastered on his face.
“I plan to have you plenty more times that aren’t breaking any health code violations.” He rocks his hips into you, a moan escapes your lips. The angle he had you in made everything feel so much deeper, every thrust he gave you made your body feel on fire, it didn’t matter how cold everything around you was.
His lips found their way up your neck, making sure to leave wet, open mouthed kisses along the base of your throat until he found the spot behind your ear that made you visibly shiver in his arms. A quiet whine left your lips as you spoke his name, pussy clenched with every rough thrust he was giving you.
To say he’s been waiting all Summer to get the chance to be inside you was an understatement, the moment he met you he knew he wanted to have his way with you. To have his way with you inside his parents freezer? That wasn’t his plan but he wasn’t one to be picky.
You cursed after one particularly rough thrust of his, nails digging into his shoulders as you took every roll of his hips. He was keen on making this quick, your back soon being pulled away from the wall and quickly found yourself being laid on top of multiple boxes of what you can expect was an assortment of toppings. If an inspector came in this place would surely be shut down.
His pace quickened as his thumb easily found your clit, rubbing in quick circular motions to help you reach your end. He was eager to cum and so were you, a flurry of curse words left your lips as you felt the knot in your stomach tightening more and more.
“Cum for me.” He grunted, voice hoarse as he watched you under him. Oh how he wished he could’ve taken his time with you, he wanted to undress you properly, make sure you were shaking before he even put the tip in. He wanted to make you feel better than you already did.
Pulling him closer, you bury your head in the crook of his neck muffling the sounds you were making, your walls clenched around him, your climax dragging out of you as he continued the fuck into you. A loud groan tumbled out of him, his thrusts became sloppy as he released inside of you, spilling his seed until it was spilling out.
You both are breathing heavy, the warm breath that's being exhaled mixing with the chill of the cooler brings a new sensation around you. You don’t trust yourself to stand, the orgasm he pulled from you in such a short time sent your mind to another world that you almost missed the distinct ring of the front door being opened.
Almost.
“Just customers, too early for my parents to be back.” Oikawa states while planting a comforting kiss on your cheek. You relax back into the now dented boxes from underneath you, he leaned down; now letting his forehead rest against yours as you breathed each other in. You both bask in the afterglow of the orgasms you had until the bright light from outside is shining through, the loud screech of the cooler’s door opening and an overly dramatic gasp and shout of Oikawa’s fathers name is being shouted as you look over.
Yeah, you can kiss this job goodbye.

Sincerely yours, Prince Rhaegar. Chapter 2
Male!Rhaenyra Targaryen x Alicent Hightower AU (Both Show Version)
Disclaimer: This is not me erasing lesbian representation if anything I prefer the original ship but this is my personal take on what would happen if Rhaenyra had been born a boy and befriended Alicent still. Also: I'm not claiming any works as mine, I don't own any of the characters or anything house of the dragon related, everything belongs to the rightful owners at HBO and George RR Martin. I have used the original script and I don't claim the script as my own, plagiarism is wrong.
Notes: Rhaenyra's name has been changed to Rhaegar. I recently watched Bridgerton and how Lady Featherington (sorry if I spelt it wrong) set up Prudence and Jack and I took inspiration from that to help write Otto in this, none of that was my idea and I don’t claim that writing as my own.
Words: 1,871
Trope: Friends To Lovers
Warnings: Talk of arranged marriage, Otto being a sneaky, talk of manipulation (though nobody does it besides Otto really)
Tumblr media
It hadn’t been long since Rhaegar’s 15th name day, those in attendance were: The King and Queen, Rhaegar’s parents, Otto Hightower and his daughter Alicent, as well as the Velaryons and many other noble houses. Though what struck King Viserys was Lord Corlys Velaryon, Corlys had spoke to him for the first time since the greeting; at first discussing Queen Aemma and her health, although strangely enough the conversation had shifted to Prince Rhaegar.
—————————————
“So what of Rhaegar’s..marriage prospects?” Corlys spoke softly. Viserys looked over at Rhaegar (who was no less slicing a cake for Alicent) and then back at Corlys. “There is no need dwelling on such now,” Viserys relented with his usual smile. “After all I’d rather he focus on..his education, he is the future King after all,” an awkward smile had emerged on Corlys’s face, “he must know how to govern a kingdom.” despite clearly shutting down any marriage requests, Corlys continued. “I believe it has been a while since our families have been explicitly intertwined,” he exclaimed. “It is of course a priority that Rhaegar marry a woman who knows how to govern a household as well, is it not?” He said tilting his head slightly, “of course.” Viserys spoke.
———————————————
“Will you hunt the stag later?” Alicent asked softly, Rhaegar and Alicent were taking a quick walk around the grounds, hoping to get some quiet. “I am not so sure,” Rhaegar spoke plainly; “It would be my first hunt, however I’m not so sure hunting interests me.” The worried look on Alicent’s face slowly faded upon hearing no plain cruelty coming from Rhaegar’s mouth. “Are you worried?” He says, a concerned look on his face. “It seems quite cruel, does no one else think so?” She uttered, Rhaegar takes a look on her mellow face before taking her hand in his; a small blush emerged on her face but not that Rhaegar noticed, he was too busy wondering if he was going to have to marry Laena. Of course he heard the conversation between Corlys and his father, it’s his name day. But he’ll give them this, he didn’t hear everything; just “marriage” and “Rhaegar” and how suspicious it is that it’s Corlys asking. Alicent must of noticed, she felt the tremble in his hands. “Rhaegar, are you worried too?” Rhaegar quickly turned his head, a dampening look adorned his face. “Is it that obvious?” He said sarcastically. Rhaegar would typically beat around the bush, trying to get the other person to drop their question; but he can’t hold it in. “Father may want me to wed Laena,” he announced, Alicent couldn’t ignore the pang in her heart when hearing of such. “You will wed Laena?” She said softly, trying to hide her sadness. “Gods, I don’t even know.” He whispered but spoke loud enough for Alicent to hear. “She will make a most excellent wife-“ “I don’t want Laena, I don’t want anyone,” He whispered the last part, “at least not right now.” He said.
————————————
“Do you enjoy riding Syrax?” Laena asked with a smile, only a week since his conversation with Alicent about not wanting to marry. “I do, although she is rather protective.” He responded. “I wish to ride one day, if only the dragon-keepers could find Vhagar.” She replied. “She is it out there somewhere I believe,” they had been walking through the palace gardens all morning, ‘The Sea Snake must of convinced father to let me speak with Laena at least’ “The Dragon Keepers see her coming and going once in a while,” Rhaegar uttered.”
As the two of them disappeared into the gardens of the Red Keep above to the balconys of the castle stood Lady Alicent Hightower; watching with dismal on her face, a figure loomed slowly behind her. “Daughter,” the figure was revealed to be Ser Otto Hightower, Alicents very own father. “The Targaryen have quite queer customs, do they not?” He whispered. Alicent looked over, the girl still in a saddened state. “Laena will be a fine queen,” she said turning away slowly, but Otto had other plans. “You should visit the Prince tonight,” Otto said sternly. “Offer him guidance, comfort.” Alicent stopped walking and turned to meet her father’s gaze, Alicent looked and slowly m grasped what he was trying to say. “Go, wear one of your mother’s dresses.” He said.
———————————————
It had been a fortnight or so since Rhaegar and Laena had been seeing each other more often than not, Viserys still wasn’t fully on board but wasn’t entirely opposed to the idea. Though Rhaegar couldn’t be less interested, though his uncle Prince Daemon had been causing a bit of a problem lately; complaining once more about his wife, Rhea Royce. Daemon and Rhaegar had one thing in common at least, they weren’t too keen on their intended. Although Rhaegar had showed signs in liking women, he wasn’t cruel and didn’t sleep with them, although he was mildly flirtatious at times but his mother, Queen Aemma had warned him to have more honour than that. Truth be told even as a little Prince Rhaegar never had many male companions: unless you count his father, Ser Laenor and Ser Harrold Westerling whom he squired under for a brief time. However besides from that his main companions tended to be women: His mother, his cousins, Lady Alicent.
Many accounts say that Lady Alicent had seduced the Prince, others say Prince Rhaegar willingly welcomed Lady Alicent all on his own accord. Though the truth was that whilst Prince Rhaegar had welcomed Alicent in the evening, no seduction had taken place on Lady Alicents part. Far from it, they would occasionally chat, read together or plan imaginary banquets. In that fortnight Prince Rhaegar’s feelings had grown stronger than before, he enjoyed Laena’s company but couldn’t see her past an annoying younger sister. He also knows seeing Alicent this late was scandalous, one word about this and Alicent would be ruined for life. Good thing Rhaegar had insurance put in place, Ser Otto Hightower had ordered the servants away at the command of Prince Rhaegar so nobody could hear or see of his private conversations with Alicent. Otto already saw this coming, of course he did, but that didn’t stop the determination of Lord Corlys Velaryon.
——————————————
A banquet was held in the honour of the Velaryon men and Prince Daemon for their success in the stepstones, although many knew that it was an excuse for Prince Viserys to announce his son will wed Lady Laena, Rhaegar hadn’t yet agreed to the marriage but the whole court was excepting nothing less.
Lady Alicent had never looked so sad that night, seeing Laena and Rhaegar dancing with one another had been the turning point, she couldn’t stand to look at them any longer. Ser Laenor had noticed and he felt slightly bad for Alicent, Laenor and Rhaegar had been playmates long enough for him to know of Rhaegar’s feelings for Alicent. Though when Alicent ran away in tears to the castle garden, Laenor hadn’t followed, but someone else did notice.
Frantically, Rhaegar departed from the dance floor upon hearing of Alicent’s cries from the corner, though hard to hear over the noise of the party, Rhaegar heard and tried to go after her. But another hand grabbed him swiftly, it was his mother. “Rhaegar, sit down.” She whispered. Momentarily, Rhaegar looked at her and shock before feeling the sensation of being dragged away and seated in the corner. “You know what it is to come, don’t you?” Rhaegar said in his usual scowling. Aemma nodded and briefly grabbed his hand and squeezed it before lifting it up to kiss it. “All you need do is tell your father, then you will be free to marry..whomever else.” Queen Aemma tried to stop herself before suggesting Alicent marry him, and though she hid it well; Rhaegar could tell what she was going to say. “I know how outraged Corlys will be if I don’t wed his daughter, what would you have me do?” Rhaegar remarked. The queen lifted his head up and spoke “Laena will marry one day, yes? Suggest a future prospect to keep him calm.” Rhaegar didn’t think it a bad plan, son Aemma let him go and follow Alicent into the gardens. Although he hadn’t noticed the shadow of Otto Hightower following him.
———————————————-
“Alicent!” He called out, though Alicent still stood there, back to him refusing to speak. “Alicent!” He shouted again, getting closer; he looked over and saw her bitting her own nails again. A nasty habit she has, she eventually turned. “What are you doing? This is a special evening for you, go and enjoy yourself.” She uttered, hoping it would be enough to make Rhaegar leave. “I won’t,” he said. She should have thought as much. “I can’t enjoy myself knowing you’re out here, heart in hand.” He said.
“You needn’t worry, even when you wed Laena we can still be friends.” Alicent muttered. Rhaegar looked beyond shocked, “Is that really what you’re upset about, I know everyone’s been saying this banquet is just an excuse but-“ “it is just an excuse! Your father wouldn’t host a banquet in there unless he planned a proposal between you and Laena.” They were both silent, Rhaegar was speechless. “Are you quite mad? To question my father is treason.” He said. “I know, but you don’t know what it is to feel this way.” She replied. “Hm?” He muttered and ached closer to her, half strolling; though she didn’t realise. “I can’t stand this much longer, I’m not sure when this bubbled inside me, truth is I’ve been rather occupied with thoughts of-“ suddenly they were face to face, chest onto chest and nose to nose. Rhaegar had expressed his true feelings, by kissing her.
Alicent hadn’t registered it, though a faint pink blush adorned her face. She put her hands on his shoulders and leaned in, knowing she is enjoying it. Many sources suggest Alicent had manipulated Rhaegar into following her, even more so suggest Rhaegar had been the one to orchestrate everything, but as said before. The truth is that while Rhaegar had instigated, Alicent followed. It had felt like an entirety as they kissed with moonlit faces, not noticing the incoming footsteps. It’s all going to plan, his plan.
Whilst the kiss had intensified, Otto approached quickly, Otto swiftly came between them and ripped them apart quicker than they could have seen. “What is the meaning of this?!” He hollered, Prince Rhaegar looked over at his father who had heard the commotion and came outside, whilst resembling a sad puppy, but got no approval, as his father had looked cross at his indignity. Both of them still in shock, Daemon only laughed, he knew Otto set this all up but he couldn’t help but snicker on the contrary to his brother. The lords all gasped and whispered amongst themselves before one of the hyenas finally spoke up. “You know what this means, don’t you Rhaegar?” It was his very own father who said it. Whilst still looking purely petrified he finally spoke up.
“Yes.” He said proudly. “Father, announce my engagement to the Lady Alicent please.”

Platonic Daddy! Yandere! Wilson Fisk x Little! Willing! Reader x Reluctant! Platonic Mommy! Vanessa Fisk
This was messily written. I wrote as it came to me. I will edit this.
Warnings: Kidnapping, Gun Violence, Violence, Human Trafficking, Yandere Behavior, Forced Relationships, Forced Breastfeeding.
KingPin (DareDevil series/comics) inspired.
Summary: You started working in a shady restaurant and met a scary regular. Somehow you ended up kidnapped and with a new set of "parents"
You were just a waiter at a restaurant, nobody really. All you did was wait tables all day at some restaurant that never had a full house since you've worked there. One man was a regular, he would come in four times a week for dinner. He wasn't the only regular, but he was the most memorable regular. With his enormous height, heavyset body, complete bald head, stark white suit, and bright blue eyes, he was utterly noticeable.
The only other waiter, the first time he came, was intimidated by his physique so you had to be the one to take his order. The man looked so tired, as if he just woken up, and it compelled you to give him a cup of coffee on the house. He ordered two different plates and a fountain drink, of which he had three refills. You waited on him like any other person, cracked a few jokes, and wished him a good day. Before he left, his plates and cup empty, he personally gave you a tip and thanked you for the coffee. The tip was a fifty dollar bill.
It wasn't completely unknown to you that more unsavory people would come into the restaurant. Ranging from small-time thugs to ring leaders of criminal organizations. It was a blessing and a curse for the restaurant and its employees. Everyone actually paid for their meals, some would leave big tips like the man, and it kept the business going. There would be times someone would get too much and create a ruckus, once there was a shoot out once, which you thankfully didn't witness. Because of the danger you were able to easily get a job, a job you desperately needed.
Ever since you graduated, you haven't been able to land a job due to inexperience. As the years went by you were desperate to find a way to no longer be a burden on your family. So you decided to walk around the more dangerous parts of the city and found a help wanted sign in the window. Your coworkers were great, the chefs were friendly enough, and your boss, the owner, gave you a decent wage. It was truly a blessing even if the environment was dangerous.
It had been six months of working, two months of knowing your memorable regular ("Call me Wilson."), when you witnessed your first shooting. A customer was complaining about their food, a street thug, and gave your coworker a hard time. Your regular, the large man, was just about to tell you his order when a shot rang out. The thug had just shot your coworker, your friend, and your fight or flight response came in. You were in fight mode.
Grabbing the first empty chair in arms reach, you slammed the chair on the back of the fleeing thug's head. They went down hard, dropping their gun, and cursing you. Their two friends got out their own guns and pointed at you, before they could shoot, a large shadow towered over you.
"Now, that's no way to treat a lovely lady." Wilson, your regular, said in a gravelly voice. The others paled and lowered their guns.
"Lovely lady my ass, she busted my skull open." The thug on the ground shouted, still turning around holding his head. "I'm gonna fucking kill the bitch." As he turned around and saw Wilson, he also paled. "Mr. Fisk, sir, I didn't see you there." He stammered.
Your friend groaned, holding their side, you dropped the chair and went to their side. It looked like they were shot in the leg, you took off your apron and put pressure on the wound.
"Look, I didn't know you came to this joint." The thug continued to stammer. Ambulance and police sirens could be heard outside. "Listen, I'll never come back to this place, I promise."
"That's a promise you can keep behind bars." You heard the guy scramble, a loud wet crunch, and a scream. You looked up to see Wilson stepping the thug's hand, that was reaching for his gun. His friends ran out in a panic, the police came in to take the thug and question everyone. Your friend was taken to the hospital.
When your family heard what happened, they begged you to quit, find another job. You compromised with them, sending your resume to different job openings, only quitting when somewhere else hires you. Wilson still stayed a regular, still giving you large tips, and your coworker came back a month later. Everything went back to normal, but you never received a call back from the places you applied.
When it was your anniversary of working at the restaurant, your coworkers set up a small party after closing. It was dark when everyone started to go home. As you approached your car someone behind you covered your face with a cloth and your world went dark.
Voices shouted around you as you woke up.
"I'm just saying this is a bad idea."
"Please, that Chinese bitch asked for girls, she didn't say from where."
"But, the Kingpin's rules."
"I don't give a shit about his rules. He broke my fucking hand and almost sent me to prison. All over some fat bitch in a shitty joint."
You noticed you were tied up and your mouth was taped shut. You were in the back of a van with two other girls in the same position. One girl started to panic and screamed behind her closed mouth.
"Shut them the fuck up." You look up and notice the thug that shot your coworker and his friends.
The one sitting in the back took out a needle syringe and injected the screaming girl with it. After a while the girl went limp.
"Shot them all up, we're almost there and I don't want any of them struggling." After a sharp pinch the world was no more.
The next time you woke up, you were naked and in a room with other girls. They were either naked like you, or wore plain lingerie that barely covered anything. After a while someone threw a bag filled with plain lingerie, and you noticed you, and other bigger girls, were the only one left without clothes. Later water bottles were thrown in, only enough for half of the girls. Some girls were selfish and hogged a whole bottle, others shared. What felt like a whole day, a few buffer men came in and took a few girls by force. The next day more men came in to take more girls. It kept repeating, after the fifth time you and the other bigger girls got lingerie. More girls were brought in.
After what felt like two weeks, you were nibbling on some stale bread when they took all the bigger girls. You were terrified, wondering what will happen to you. You and girls were lined up in front of a group of people, a girl squeezed your hand and you squeezed back. When you looked around, you were surprised to see Wilson in the group. He also seemed surprised when his eyes landed on you.
"As you can see Mr. Fisk, we in fact respect your wishes." An Asian man in front of an elderly woman said. She was sitting in a chair and said something in her native tongue. "I always make sure to leave your territory alone, never picking from your fields."
"Is that so?" Wilson said. He stepped forward and took out his hand. "Come here, y/n." He called out. You clutched onto the other girl. "It's all right, sweetheart, I'm here to take you home."
The old woman shouted. "I'm sorry, but I think you're mistaking the merchandise for someone else." The man then tried soothing the old woman in their native tongue.
You felt your eyes water at being called merchandise, you were a human, not a thing. Wilson called out your name again. You let go of the girl. He said he would take you home and you wanted to go home.
When you reached him, you threw your arms around his middle and cried into his chest. He patted your head and rubbed your back. "It's alright, it's alright. Now tell me, who brought you here?"
"The guy that shot my friend and his friends." You said between sobs.
"My poor little sunshine, you must have been so scared." He kissed the top of your hair. "Don't worry, everything will be alright now." He used his strength to leave you in his arms. You buried your face in his shoulder, clutching the front of his suit. "You broke our deal."
The woman shouted. "We had no idea she was one of yours. Whoever brought her to us is at fault." The man translated.
"Whoever brought her here was under your orders. " He started to walk away. "I expect compensation for the kidnapping of my daughter." There was a sharp inhale. Daughter, why did he call you his daughter?
He brought you to his limo and settled you in his lap, covering you with his jacket. "It's alright, princess. Once we get home you'll have a nice bath, a warm meal, and I'll tuck you in bed. Doesn't that sound nice?"
Your body felt numb, but nodded. Finally getting clean, real food, and a bed sounded like a dream. You pressed close to him to get warm.
When he carried you out of the limo, you didn't recognize your surroundings. He took you to what looked like a luxury apartment complex. Taking the elevator, he pressed the top floor button. It looked like his private condo took up the whole floor.
He finally sat you down in a chair in the bathroom. He filled the overly large tub with warm water and bubbles. When the tub was full you expected him to leave, but instead he started to take off the lingerie you wore. You shrieked and scooted away from him.
"It's alright, sweetie. I know you're scared, but you should let daddy take care of you." He said.
"I can wash myself." You stammered back.
"I know you're my big girl, but daddy hasn't seen you in days." He grabbed your arm, preventing you from moving away. Taking off the last bit of article that covered you, he picked you up and placed you in the tub. Grabbing a washcloth he started to scrub your body. You jumped at that.
"Please, I can wash myself." You cried.
"No, no," he shook his head, "I said I was going to take care of you. Daddy will make everything better and you'll get to see your friends tomorrow. Doesn't that sound fun?"
It scared you, having a large man handle you. You had no idea why he kept calling himself "daddy", or why he was insistent on treating you like a child. He was just a regular at the restaurant you work at. You decided to comply. If a man could easily carry someone like you around, who knows what else he could do.
When he finished giving you a bath he picked you up from the tub, wrapped in a large towel, and carried you to a bedroom. He placed you on a bed and dressed you in childish looking underwear and soft pajamas with your favorite childhood characters. Not only was it embarrassing, but it had you questioning why the man had such clothing in your exact size. He picked you back up and sat you at a dining table.
"You sit there while daddy gets you your favorite soup." When he left for the kitchen, you debated on whether or not to try to leave. You decided against it, you had no clue where you were and he did say you were going to see your friends tomorrow. Maybe he wasn't that bad of a man, maybe this was his strange way comforting you.
As promised, he came back with a bowl of your favorite soup and a juice box. Before you could grab the spoon yourself, he lifted the spoon to your face. "Open wide." He looked at you expectantly.
"I can feed myself." You stuttered, feeling your cheeks blush. You looked at the ground embarrassed at the situation even more.
He placed a hand on your chin, forcing you to look at him. Looking up, you felt smaller than you ever had, especially with his large stature. "Just let daddy spoil you, ok?" Once again, you wordlessly nodded, afraid of what might happen if you said no.
He fed you like a baby, wiping your face after each spoonful, and occasionally held up the juice box for you to drink from. When the bowl was completely empty, he picked you up again. "It's time for bed."
He took you to the same bedroom as before. You finally looked around and saw what looked like a child's bedroom. Your favorite color painted the walls, shelves filled with children's books, a desk covered in coloring books and crayons, a toy box, childish furniture, and a bed with sheets covered in your favorite childhood characters. It made you bewildered why the man had such a room in the first place.
As he tucked you in bed, he gave your forehead a kiss. "Sleep tight my little princess. Daddy has to take care of business, but if you need anything the nanny will be just outside, ok?"
"Ok." You said automatically.Nanny? So he's keeping a guard on you? There goes your ability to escape and go back home to your family.
Finally laying on a soft bed after days of barely sleeping on the floor, you eventually feel asleep. By morning Wilson was waking you up. He took you to the bathroom to do your business, without leaving, and gave you a brightly colored toothbrush. Today's saving grace was that he allowed you to walk, but held onto your hand. He still changed your clothes, putting on something that you would normally wear. You ate breakfast without help and he took you to work via a chauffeur.
Before you could jump out of the car, Wilson asked for a kiss. So close to freedom, you gave him a kiss on the cheek. He finally let you go after he gave his own kiss and wished you a good day.
When you walked into the restaurant, you were ambushed by your coworkers once they saw you. Apparently Wilson told them he would bring you back, but they didn't believe it. The owner asked if you actually wanted to work today. You told them that you wanted to go home, since you hadn't seen your family yet. They took you home.
Your family was overwhelmed when they saw you, you all cried. They called the police to inform them you returned and they came to question you. You gave them the descriptions of the three men that took you and two people that were behind it. You didn't mention Wilson picking you up, only saying you managed to escape and run into someone who helped you.
After winding down, you had a celebratory lunch with your family for your safe return. No one went to work that day and held onto you tight. When it was a little past your working shift, a knock came from the door. When a knock came from the door, you were surprised to see Wilson at the door when a family member opened it. When he asked for you, your family was suspicious of him. You blurted out that he was the one that helped you, that made the family welcome him in open arms. They insisted he stay for dinner, to show their appreciation.
The women, and few of the men, were in the kitchen preparing traditional dishes for an army. Wilson sat with you on the couch, your family treated him like he was a part of the family. When he placed an arm over your shoulder, some of your family members gave a teasing glance. They were the ones insistenting you should have been married already. If only they knew he didn't see you as a lover, but as a daughter.
You couldn't help but cuddle into his side, enjoying the feeling of being small. You haven't felt small in years, you usually were the biggest person in the room. When dinner was ready, you began insisting that your favorite food was the best. You plated most of the food for Wilson, almost forgetting his strange nature from yesterday. When the day winded down, only your closest family members stayed over. Wilson left as well, you gave him a hug goodbye.
It took two days for you to return to work, you were grateful that you even still had a job. Wilson came in that day for lunch. When no one was looking, you gave him a kiss on the cheek. He seemed surprised by that. When he finished, he gave you your usual tip and a note that asked you to come home with him during the weekend.
You felt nervous and questioned your sanity for actually going to his place. He babies you the whole weekend, treating you like a toddler. You enjoyed cuddling with him on the couch while watching children's movies and shows, when he fed you, when he changed you, when he carried you around, and when he would call you nicknames. Your "nanny" was someone called Hildy, a no nonsense woman that treated you like a child without asking questions. It made you feel carefree, like you had nothing to worry about for about two and a half days.
It was a routine for about a year, your family thought you were dating, your coworkers never questioned Wilson's behavior towards you. You never once imagined that you would be in the situation you found yourself in. One morning, when Wilson left for "business," you groggily got out of bed to ask Hildy for a glass of water. A woman was in the living room with her, demanding where Wilson was. When she looked at you, with your bed hair, she assumed you were sleeping with him. You made a face at that. "Gross, he's my daddy." You told her. Later you were properly introduced to Vanessa.
Vanessa did not accept the type of relationship you had with her boyfriend. Well, not at first. After your third week, she saw everything that Wilson did with you. She was still hesitant, but you guess Wilson told her something because she started to join him for lunch at your workplace. You treated them like normal customers and she seemed nervous the whole time. The next weekend, Wilson had her feed you and read you a bedtime story. The next week he had her change your clothes and cuddle you while watching tv. Then it escalated to her bathing you. She tried to touch you in a sexual manner while bathing you, you screeched and cried like a child. Wilson was angry at her and kicked her out. You didn't see her for two weeks.
The next time you saw her, she apologized and promised to never do that again, you were weary of her. You clung to Wilson whenever she was around, hiding behind him, hiding behind daddy. He kept you safe. But he wanted Vanessa to be your mommy. When it seemed like you weren't getting used to her, something happened.
When you entered the condo after being picked up from work, you noticed Vanessa waiting on the couch. She was wearing a loose button up, and gestured you to her lap. Daddy didn't let you hide behind him, he picked you up and sat you on her lap. You started to cry, wondering what was happening. "She's just being fussy, aren't you princess?" Daddy cooed. "Our poor baby must be hungry. Don't you think so, honey?"
"Yes." Vanessa stammered.
"Well, aren't you going to feed her?" Vanessa started to clumsy unbutton her shirt. You wanted to panic, to pull away from her, but daddy kept you in place. Vanessa exposed one of her breasts.
"Here, eat." She tried to push her breast into your force. Daddy stopped her and scowled.
"Don't force it, let her latch naturally." He patted your head and adjusted you so your head was next to her breast. "Come on sweetheart, aren't you hungry?" He encouraged. "Has daddy ever let you astray?" No, daddy has never let anything, or anyone, hurt you.
Shyly, you latched onto her nipple, she gasped and daddy praised you. As you sucked, you tasted something sweet and warm. You sucked harder and more of the sweet nectar came rushing into your mouth. Vanessa was lactating! "That's a good girl, eating without a fuss." Daddy praised. "And mommy is being so good at feeding our precious baby."
You could hear Vanessa cry, but you didn't let it bother you. You were hungry and she was feeding you yummy milk. When her breast was empty, you whined for more. Daddy took out her other breast since Vanessa was still crying. You drank until you sucked her dry. Happily humming with a full stomach, you nuzzled into your new mommy. She gave you nice warm milk and daddy said she was mommy. Your weekends now included drinking milk from mommy, who cried from happiness at being able to feed her baby.

Love at first sight - (rin itoshi)
Tumblr media
Nagi: come to the game you won’t regret it, and afterwards you can meet the team
you: fine, don’t expect me to like it.
Nagi, your childhood bestfriend (since birth) who you were friends with before Reo. Which was weird, Nagi is a lazy successful bastard who started taking orders from a rich kid who wanted to go against his parents wishes. They became best friends and after they left for blue lock and came back Nagi was different. More determined, independent, he wanted to do things for himself. Because you two are so close you considered each other like brother and sister what helped more was that both of your parents were bestfriend so you basically were siblings.
Once he became a famous soccer player for the national team you stuck to being a business owner. You ran a flower company with my franchises around the country soon hoping to expand further.
Getting ready for the game you didn’t want to seem like one of Nagi’s fan girls and wear his jersey so you opted to wear a long ankle length fitted skirt with a long sleeve crop top pairing it with light green sneakers. It wasn’t a normal outfit anyone would wear to a soccer game but this wasn’t your style so you just wore what you’d wear on a normal work day.
~
With your bag hanging off your arm and shades in place you watched Nagi and his team win the game with ease which didn’t surprise you. Every morning while setting up for the day you would read all the news headlines and they never seemed to stay out of the spot light with their amazing talent. Especially one player. Itoshi Rin. He was an all star who shine remarkably amongst his team of also remarkable players.
Standing up you were starting to walk down the steps leading to the main platform before heading down the tunnel when your phone buzzed twice.
Nagi: come to the team tunnel
Nagi: instead of taking a right, take a left. Simple enough for you to find.
Mentally cursing yourself you forgot that he wanted to meet so you did what he said and the first room you found you knocked on it, waiting for your lazy brother to step out but instead it was his teammate. Itoshi Rin.
Man was he good looking, the small beads of sweat dripping down his forehead all the way to his chin. His messy damp hair due to the sweat glued to his forehead while his teal eyes stared at your figure waiting for you to speak. “Do I need to call security?” He spoke up and your face started to heat up, not only were you embarrassed but his voice was so smooth and sexy. It fit him to a T and you would openly admit that.
“I’m looking for my brother. Nagi Seishiro.” You spoke up keeping your gaze low, you didn’t want him to see the rising blush on your cheeks. The door suddenly slammed shut causing you to flinch making your sunglasses that were sitting on the top of your head fall onto your nose.
A few more minutes passed and you were going to walk away but then the door swung open and Nagi popped out with his whole team behind him. “Y/N!” Someone shouted from behind Nagi immediately engulfing you in a big hug. “Reo, good to see you.” You said awkwardly pushing him away once feeling his sweaty hair touch the side of your face.
“Guys this is Nagi’s sister, Y/n.” Reo introduced knowing Nagi wasn’t going too, you smiled waving your hand towards everyone. They all introduced themselves and as time passed you could feel someone staring at you. Looking to find the culprit you were met with those same real eyes that bore holes into you just thirty minutes ago.
“We were all going out to eat so celebrate the win, wanna come?” Nagi asked throwing his arm over your shoulder, you accepted and all of you walked out of the stadium going to separate cars. Nagi following you obviously because he hates driving knowing someone better can offer up to drive. What a lazy sob.
Arriving last to the restaurant there were only two seats left and Nagi took the one next to Isagi leaving the last seat next to Rin. “You don’t act like Nagi.” Rin spoke up grabbing your attention, you smiled at the familiar statement. “We’re not actually related. Bestfriends. But because our moms are really close and planned our births days apart we’re basically siblings.” You looked over at Nagi who seemed to be enjoying himself in the presence of his friends.
“I’ve never seen someone wear a skirt to a soccer game before.” He again spoke this time embarrassing you even more, “I-I’ve never been to a soccer game before. This was my first time, I didn’t know what to wear and I definitely wasn’t going to wear Nagi’s stupid uniform.” You responded stuffing a piece of bread in your mouth. “You could’ve worn mine.” He retaliated looking down at you.
Swallowing the piece quickly trying not to choke you covered your mouth trying to respond, “What? I wasn’t going to wear some random players jersey number.” “I’m not random anymore. So next time wear my number, it’ll be better soccer attire. Not that I’m complaining with what you’re wearing right now.” There it is. The way his eyes ran up and down your body and the way they looked into your eyes devouring what dignity you had.
Your have lit up once again for the third time in the time span of two hours because he said you looked good. Any guy could come up to you and tell you that you look good but when it comes from Rin why is it making your stomach do backflips? Why is he making you smile the way that you are.
The two of you talked for a little while about random things getting to know each other a little better when your phone started to ring. “Excuse me.” You spoke standing up and heading outside to take the call in private.
It was your assistant calling to transfer you to another phone call. This call was with a foreign investor who wanted to invest in your company, in order for this plan to be set in motion you need to travel to the states which wasn’t a big deal for you. “Right. I will see you tomorrow. Thank you.” Hanging up the phone you excitedly did a little victory run in place before heading back inside to grab your things.
Rin looked up at you curiosity filling him as you looked back at him figuring out what to say. You leaned down next to his ear and whispered, “Thank you for the company.” Without anyone noticing you placed a small kiss on his cheek and walked over to Nagi.
“I’m leaving. Go home with Reo.” You kissed the top of his head and left the restaurant mentally regretting not asking Rin for his number.
Unknown: Rude of you to leave without a proper goodbye.
You looked at your phone wondering who could be texting you especially with such a cryptic message like that.
You: Who is this?
Unknown: Rin Itoshi.
Dropping your phone on your bed you stared at the message wondering how he got your number in the first place while also trying to figure out what you were going to say back to him.
Your heart was pounding against your rib cage as you picked up your phone fingers froze over the keypad waiting for your mind to give you the right words to say.
You: What we’re you expecting?
Rin: Idk a kiss maybe 🤔
You: So a kiss on the cheek wasn’t enough?
Rin: It was pretty lukewarm.
You laughed at his comment quickly replying back then throwing your phone on the night stand and pulling your laptop back on your lap to continue working.
~
“Building a faction in the states is a lot of work Nagi. What do you expect me to do, drop everything because my whiny brother misses me?” You spoke standing in the mirro while holding the phone up to your ear so that you could look to see if you looked okay. “It’s been four years Y/n. You gave me a shitty goodbye and you still haven’t come back.” He whined again for the fifth time over the phone. You laughed walking over to the bed to sit down so that you could strap on your heels. “Trust me, after the ribbon cutting and signing event tonight I’ll be coming home last next week. Don’t you have a game? Focus on that.” You responded picking up your binder alongside your bag with your keys.
You finally ended the call with Nagi turning to be met with the half naked figure lying in your hotel bed. Grabbing the pillow you threw it at his face causing him to sit up slightly annoyed. “I’m pressing charges.” He spoke forcing an exaggerated laugh to fall from your chapped lips. “You.” Pointing your finger in his direction, “Go home. Just like I told that punk over the phone. You have a game.” Rin rolled his eyes sitting up slowly while stretching his arms to wake himself up.
“Where are you going?” He asked watching you move around the room to make sure you had everything, “Meetings all day. I’m not joking, by the time I come back you better be gone.” He gave you an annoyed sigh as he sat the staring down at the sheets waiting for a sign telling him to get out the bed and start packing his stuff. Before leaving you walked over to him and placed a kiss on his cheek ready to leave then but he stopped you.
“Remember last time you left with just giving me a kiss on the cheek?” He said stopping you again in your tracks, “yeah I ended up in a long term relationship. What’s next marriage?” “Maybe.” You laughed and gave him a quick kiss and the lips and left the room locking it behind you.
After a couple weeks of you being gone Rin randomly texted you out of no where and openly pursued you. Even though on tv or whatever it never looked like something he would do but it most definitely is. He straight up told you during a phone call one night that the moment he laid eyes on you and you lack of soccer attire he was hooked.
After a year of just texting and calling with occasional facetimes he decided that he needed to see you. He showed up at your hotel and the two of you spend the most romantic and amazing night together, end ended with his asking you to be his girlfriend and you obviously accepted.
You had awesome staff back in Japan so you never needed a reason to go back especially because your boyfriend was so willing to come and see you anytime he felt like it. Next thing you know four years have gone by and the hard work you had put into this project is finally complete in five different states.
It was finally time for you to come home and the day you were coming back there was a game going on and Rin made sure that whenever you came back you had a jersey to wear. His jersey, like his actual game jersey. You paired it with some jeans and some matching Jordan’s actuall somewhere fitting soccer attire.
The moment you sat down in the seat with your assistant sitting next to you the players walked out and as you were admiring your boyfriend from afar, he suddenly wasn’t so far and was standing right infront of you. Well not infront but right on the field in your general direction, he beckoned for you with his eyes and you obliged standing up and walked over with your arms folded across your chest due to the cool windy air blowing on you.
You stood behind the railing waiting for him to speak but instead he jumped up hoisting himself up to where he was face to face with you then planted a long gentle kiss right on your lips. Everyone in the crowd gasped and screamed in shock, joy, excitement, whatever emotion high intense soccer fans have whenever a cold hearted player like Rin Itoshi kisses some random girl infront of thousands.
He pulls away and jumps down shouting something while running away, “Thanks for my good luck kiss.” You started walking back to your seat trying to ignore the glaring stares of the people behind you. “You’re dating THE ITOSHI RIN???” Your assistant asked covering her mouth out of excitement. Letting out a huge sigh you rolled your eyes and crossed one leg over the other while crossing your arms and straightening your back. “Sadly.” You stared at the field watching the players warm up ready for the game as your face heated up in excitement.
The game obviously ended with their team winning and as you and your assistant stood up walking down the tunnel towards the exit you heard someone calling your name but chose to ignore it because it would be weird for someone to be calling your name at a soccer game. You had kept walking scrolling through your phone stopping when you noticed an article with a picture of Rin kissing you.
“Ms. L/N, there’s someone calling for you.” You hummed at her statement briefly scanning the article some more. Your steps started moving forward once again until you were forcefully grabbed by your waist being flushed against someone’s chest. “I hate when you ignore me.” Rin spoke wrapping his arm around your waist.
“Rinnie, sorry. I was looking at something.” You smiled putting your phone in your tote bag, he glanced right at said bag but chose to ignore it. “I didn’t know you were coming back today. Did it slip your mind to tell me?” He spoke walking beside you and your assistant towards the exit, “Y/N!!” You flinched hearing the oh so familiar voice call your name. Nagi walked over pulling you into a tight hug smiling brightly at your presence.
“You came back.” “I told you I was coming back.” He scoffed pulling you towards the exit leaving your boyfriend and assistant behind. “Nagi, my assistant and Rin. We’re leaving them behind.” “See, when did that start?” You looked at him confused knowing damn well you knew what he was talking about. “When did you and mr. lukewarm back there start dating? When did my sister start dating, that is so unlike you.” The both of you laughed finally getting out of the humid tunnel, the both of you walked over to your car laughing and joking around about the thought of you dating.
“You know the first night we met, at your game. I gave him a kiss on the cheek right before I left. That was the first time I ever showed interest in someone like more than just, a petty crush. Then when he texted me, I just fell harder.” He leaned against the car watching you fidget with your finger on the verge of crying, you were talking about what you felt when Rin stepped into your life. “He tried. He pushed himself to me, he flew to the states even if it was just to spend one night with me. Four years ago I fell in love with Rin.”
Nagi smiled looking up behind you sighing, “Man what happened to the single duo. Your killing me kin.” He took the keys from your hand unlocking the car and getting in the passenger side with your assistant sitting in the backseat leaving you and Rin alone standing outside of the car. “You love me? That’s crazy.” He spoke using his hand to push some hair behind your ear, “what if I was telling Nagi I loved him, you were ease dropping too hard.” He rolled his eyes at your statement looking into the car noticing your assistant staring at the both of you while Nagi was playing a game on his phone.
“Come home with me, I’m trying to propose to you tonight but I can’t do that if you have to babysit your brother.” “It’s not a proposal if you tell me about it.” You laughed gently rubbing the back of his head giving him a much needed head massage. “Why would I keep secrets from you? I want to propose to you tonight and I want to spend it alone with YOU.” He emphasized letting you go for a quick second, his hand pulled on the door handle opening the drivers side door not for you but for himself.
“Nagi, Y/n is coming with me tonight, can you take her assistant home?” “Uh sure.” Nagi responded not looking up from him game. Rin shut the door and grabbed your hand to bring you to his car. You smiled pressing a kiss on his lips the closing the door behind yourself.

As a community we NEED a fic where William actually gets arrested at the end, like imagine a romantic reader x Afton thing and he confesses his love and reveals his truths, and at the end it’s like, reader was actually a cop and your under arrest, and it ends w William saying I would have got away with it too if it wasn’t for you meddling- you get it. :)
I FELT REALLY BAD FOR NOT RESPONDING TO THIS FOR AWHILE, BUT IVE BEEN RLLY BUSY WITH WORK AND SCHOOL. SO THIS IS THE FIRST PART, IM MAKING THE SECOND PART RN AND I LEFT YOU ON A SMALL CLIFFHANGER RN ITS OKAY THOUGH. ALSO ITS ALREADY 2.9k+ WORDS SO I NEED A PART 2.
No because that's such a good idea though too and even though I’m a massive simp for William I think he definitely needs to be humbled. THE MANIPULATOR GETS MANIPULATED WHILE ALSO READER KINDA SIMPING FOR HIM IDK I COULDNT HELP IT it still ends the way u want though >:)
Also I'm naming this "Playing with Shadows" idk it feels right.
Tumblr media
Stuff to know: Cursing, a lil obsessiveness, reader following “gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss” mentality, reader is an fbi agent cuz idk felt like it, kind of a more creepy tone to it, this is taken place before Freddy’s is abandoned and before any of Williams kids die, but his wife is gone cause shes not important >:D
Being an FBI agent, you get your fair share or surprising things that you see. And when I got assigned to go to a small town in Utah, investigating a pizzeria, I’d say it was surprising, but that would be the least of my concerns. After arriving there, I was finally informed on what my entire job would be for the next 3 to 4 months.
My boss takes me into a private room, I sit down in front of his desk, he grabs a file, his eyes graze over it until he sighs looking back at me. “Agent y/ln. Your job is complicated, I won't lie to you. It will be an extreme mental challenge, but you're the best to do this.”
“You must first get a job interview with a man named William Afton. He is the owner of a restaurant named Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. After you get the interview you must also get the job, as a waitress there. Simple enough, but then, you will have to seduce him. That's the tough part, we believe he is responsible for the murder of 6 or more kids. We chose you not only from your skill set, but also because you look very similar to his ex-wife. He has 3 children, if you start getting along with them it might seem more attractive to him, your main goal. Get him to fall so in love with you, that he confesses the murders.”
And with that the case that would affect me more than any other, starts.
The day of the interview, it's pouring down rain outside, there are only a few cars parked outside of Freddy’s, the sound of music can be heard from outside. I walk up to the door, opening it, my eyes scanning the room. There isn’t much, it is a tuesday though, the first things I see are two parents trying to get one of their kids to leave, and the second is the giant ass animatronics on stage, well 3 of them are on stage, another fox looking one is playing with a kid. Well it would have been nice if they told me about some creepy animatronics but whatever. After looking around for a few seconds a man approaches me, he’s tall, probably 6 '4 or 6' 5, with glasses. “William Afton, you must be y/n y/ln, here for the interview?” He says to me, offering his hand for me to shake. My boss never told me what he looked like, they tried not to tell me anything about him, they thought that it would be too suspicious for the highly intelligent serial killer if I accidentally slipped up and said something about something I “didn’t” know. Either way I return the smile, shaking his hand firmly.
“Yes that's correct, it’s a pleasure to meet you!” Y’know if you ignore the fact that he is probably a psychotic, narcissistic, serial killer, then he’s actually really hot. At least it wouldn’t be that repulsive seducing him. “Follow me then and we’ll get the interview started.” I take the chance to glance around the place once more, noticing his eldest son, Micheal, leaning against the wall rolling his eyes at his brother who was crying. The fbi showed me pictures of the children so I knew which ones to try and interact with. I followed him into his office, seeing only one family photo, it had his ex-wife in it, I do actually look a lot like her, huh.
He motions me to sit in the chair in front of his desk, while walking to sit on his own. “So y/n, tell me what brings you here for the interview? Why here?” Oh right, what was I supposed to say, shit I forgot, good thing I was in theater as a kid, improvise. “Well, I really love the atmosphere of this place, even though being a waitress isn’t everyone's dream job, I think for now it would be a safe and fun job to have. I also am really good with kids so it's a plus to have them around.” Hell yeah theater kids for the win. He nods at my answer, thinking for a bit then writing something in a notepad he has, I see his gaze focus on the picture of his wife and kids then back at me, he narrows his eyes. Oh he definitely caught onto the similarities in our looks.
“Y’know what y/n, I think I’m just getting a really good feeling about you, how soon can you start?” Either my improv is so good I should retire fbi and become an actor. Or the plan is working insanely well, and he misses his ex wife so much that having me around could take his mind off it. I really wish it was the first option, it's definitely the second. “Wow! Thank you so much sir! I can start tomorrow if that’d work?” He grins standing out of his chair, I do the same and shake his hand again. “Sounds perfect.” He walks me out of the building, his hand on my shoulder, to most it would be a friendly gesture. But when you know the blood that's been on his hands, you can’t help but have chills running down your spine.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, y/n” He says, his eyes looking straight at me, it was terrifying because when I looked back into his eyes I saw nothing, but it felt like he could see everything in my eyes. I force a smile, waving and quickly walking to my car, driving away to my little apartment. I could barely sleep, my mind kept returning to the same look in his eyes, the same way a lion looks at its prey. I’m an FBI agent, I shouldn’t be this shaken by another murderer, but it just felt different, almost out of this world in some weird way, I guess it just didn’t feel real. But it was. And that’s the scary part. The other scary part was the feeling of being watched, I knew that my FBI friends were watching on cameras, only checking on me with texts, just in case William was stalking me. And that's what it felt like, the feeling of someone watching me, but I couldn’t do anything about it, I was supposed to encourage it actually. This is my job anyways, I’m safe and I’m not going to let some ,oddly attractive now that i think about it, creep scare me. So after giving myself a pep talk I was finally able to get some needed sleep.
I woke up to the annoying ass alarm going crazy, I immediately shut it off, it was a mental battle to not just go back to sleep. When I got out of bed, the feeling of being watched was gone, which told me that William was most likely watching me last night, never gonna get used to that. After I get ready, put on the mini mic that records any conversations I have, and make myself look like a potential murderers ex wife, I head out the door, ready to start my “new job” at a totally wholesome children's place.
When I get there and walk through the doors I notice William was waiting for me, he smiles welcomely and pats my back. “y/n! So great to see you, are you ready to start your new job?” I smile back at him, at least it seems like he's in a good mood today, not a creepy kill all mood. No wait, he’s still probably in that mood. “Yeah, I’m really excited, thank you again for hiring me, I appreciate so, so much Mr Afton.” “Ah, you're welcome! I think you’ll be a great addition to have around.” He leads me towards the kitchen where a sleep deprived male teen who looks like he’s high, (he is) is lazily defrosting pizza dough and another worker, some 60 year old Betty is cutting and putting ingredients into containers. Basic pizza prep. When I walk into the kitchen, Williams hands still on my back, the 60 year old looks up and HARD glares at me. Bitch. I think Wiliam saw how hard Betty or whatever was glaring at me, so he tries to lift the mood. “Bethenny, Aaron, this is y/n, they are our new waitress so you don’t have to keep bringing the food out yourselves!” Bethenny, I was close enough. She looks more like the child murderer. “Hey.” Aaron says, even though he’s high, he looks pretty nice, he’s smiling at me. I wave at him politely while Bitcheny is still glaring at me, not saying a word. “Alright team! Well get to know each other cause y/n’s gonna be here awhile!” That's condescending, oh well. I try to be nice and smile at Bigassbetty and she has no reaction besides looking away and going back to chopping up vegetables. William finally takes his hands off my back and says good luck while walking back to his office. “Hey… guess I should introduce myself, my name is Aaron, it's nice to meet you.” Aaron says coming up to me with a friendly (high) smile. I greet him, trying to be friendly, and trying not to be repulsed by the strong smell of vape coming off of him. “Hey, i’m y/n, it's nice to see a *friendly* face.” I say, glaring at Betty while saying friendly. “Oh haha yeah, don’t mind her, she's just some grumpy bitch.” I laugh with him and Bethenny rolls her eyes.  We keep talking for a bit while I try to help prep the kitchen before Freddy’s opens. Once it does, a surprising amount of kids come in, even more surprising because it's Wednesday.
Food quickly starts getting made, along with kids screaming and laughing and running around. I bring my first pizza order over to a table, smiling nicely at anyone who looks at me, getting mostly smiles back. A few hours pass and I finally get to hang out . It's not that hard, it's just bringing food to people and trying not to kick children who get in your way. As I’m bringing food to a table I notice a woman who looks a lot like me walk in with three kids, pushing them in with an even more bitchy look than Bethenny and leaving. Oh shit, those are Aftons kids. I put the pizza down, checking my watch, perfect timing, I'm on break now, which means I need to try and interact with the kids. I got a little information on some of the kids, I know Micheal is the oldest, he's a punk and a rebel, and he’d probably follow me around like a lost puppy if I offered him a smoke and talked to him about star wars, easy enough. Evan hates Freddy’s, so I’d probably need to comfort him and try to calm him down, make him laugh and cheer him up. Then Elizabeth, I could probably act like I found a barbie and give it to her saying “I couldn’t find the owner.” All pretty easy, hopefully.
I decided to try and talk to Micheal first. I figured if the other siblings saw him laughing and talking to me, it would make it easier to talk to them. I waited for Micheal to get tired of his crying brother, as he walked outside. I quickly grab a smoke from my bag and head outside, I see William watch me with an intimidating grin as I wave at him and go outside. Once I get out their Micheal is already side-eyeing me, obviously suspicious and wary if I would snitch on him for smoking, that's until I pull out my own and quickly light it, I glance at him seeing his suspicion fall and his face become more relaxed. I noticed he doesn’t his lighter isn’t working, great for me. “Need me to light it for ya?” I say smiling at him, offering my lighter. He grins and nods. “Yeah, thanks” I nod and cup my hands over his cigarette, quickly lighting it as we both stand outside silently smoking. “So you're the new waitress here right?” I’m glad he started the conversation, to be honest I had no clue what to say. “Yeah, just got here today, I’d say it's going pretty well.” He chuckles while taking a puff of his cigarette. “Hah, just wait till the weekend, it's like hell, way too many kids in one spot.” I grin, “It gets worse than this?!” I say jokingly as we both laugh a bit, I see he has a star wars shirt on. “Who’s your favorite star wars character?” He smiles wide, clearly excited to talk about it. “Oh definitely Anakin, what's your Princess Leia or something?” He jokes. “Hell no (your fav star wars character)  is where it's at.” (If it's Princess Leia, sorry lmao). We stay out there for 10 minutes until we walk back inside, discarding the smokes, and continuing to argue about star wars while inside, which is good because William sees me talking and laughing with him. After my break ends I go back to working, occasionally stopping to talk to Micheal, and like I said he’s basically following me around all day. At the end of the day, I help clean up the kitchen a bit, the only three kids left are Aftons. Micheal looks like he’s waiting for me, clearly already attached to me, guess I’m good at my job. I can’t help but feel bad though, if we do catch William, these kids will hate me. It's all a part of the job. I finish cleaning walking out where William greets me with a big smile, I kinda wanna see what he looks like when hes not smiling, because its really fucking creepy that I haven’t seen him do anything but smile. “Y/N! You did great today, I was right, you make a perfect fit!” I see Micheal nod in agreement, William also sees that, somehow he seems even more happy and smiley than just a moment ago. “Ah I see you have met my brilliant son Micheal! He’s quite the kid eh?” God he really is obsessed with trying to make me their new mom. “Yeah well he certainly knows way too much about star wars.” I joke, Micheals face heats up with embarrassment. “Hey! I can like things!” He laughs and I laugh with him, William doesn’t take his eyes off me, he looks like he’s thinking, deciding something, and whatever it is, is about me.
The smallest son then comes up to me, Evan, and just holds onto my leg, wrapping his arms and legs around my leg. I raise an eyebrow and awkwardly laugh, not knowing what to do. Micheal starts laughing really hard, and William is chuckling. “Evan, let's get off of y/n now eh kid, they’ve got places to be.” Evan pouts and holds tighter onto my leg. That's when I start laughing, Elizabeth grins evilly and takes the chance to run over and grab my other leg. William and Micheal start to try and pry them off of me, we are all laughing. Like a family. I lose my balance and stumble back, falling, the kids both instinctively let go so they don't get hurt, before I can fall on the floor William catches me.
Look I know he’s a child murder but with a 6 '4 sexy tumblrman catching me like that, I'm gonna blush a little. And he lifted me back up like it was nothing, I love a strong man. WOAH pause, I am not gonna fall for a killer. Wait, there is still a small chance this could be a misunderstanding, no, I have to remember how creepy he is, like I get bad vibes from him. Then again I get bad vibes from all men. “You alright y/n” Oh shit right, I forgot where I was for a moment. “Yeah haha, thanks, at least we got them off right?” I grin and laugh with them all. Evan tugs on William's pant leg, motioning for him to bend down so Evan can whisper something to him, William does so. He starts laughing and stands back up. “Evan was wondering if you wanted to come have dinner with us sometime.” I smile and nod. “I would love to!” The family lights up, all of them smiling. “How about tomorrow, can’t you just close Freddy’s a bit earlier Dad?” Micheal suggests. “That's a great idea kiddo, how does that sound to you y/n?” The plan is working perfectly. Well, almost perfectly, I’m getting attached to this family, even the guy who might be a murderer. I part of me is wishing, that its all a misunderstanding, that some other fucked up guy killed or took those kids, that this family is perfectly fine and I could fit right in. But the other part of me knows I need to stick to the job, and that fucking sucks.
“That works perfectly, I will see you all tomorrow!”
And with that I wave goodbye to the Afton family, before driving back to my apartment, staring at the ceiling before somehow falling asleep.
ALRIGHT GUYS ILL TRY AND GET PART 2 OUT ASAP 😭
