"I'm going to take a shower." You announced, tossing your phone to the side as you got up from the couch, streching your arms above your head. You and Donghyuck had settled on your couch for a movie marathon, one that lasted only until the second movie because he was just too 'bored' and decided that it was the perfect time to makeout. "Oh sure." Donghyuck got up with you, staring at you expectantly, as if waiting for you to head to the bathroom.

"Taking a shower...?"

"Without me?' A look of hurt flashes on his features, but you know better, he's just being dramatic. With a hand over his chest and a huge sigh he plops back on the couch, laying back on it. 'You don't love me anymore."

How old was he again? Ah yes, 23.

Rolling your eyes, amused at his antics, you let out a sigh of your own. "Fine, drama queen, get your ass up and let's shower."

You don't wait for him to answer and turn around, walking to the bathroom, not like you needed to, since you could hear his little giggles and the sound of him scurrying his way to you.

He caught your eye from across the crowd, raising his eyebrows to greet you from afar. You wave back at Haechan, watching him start squeezing past people to get to where you were standing.

“Hey.” His voice puts you at ease every time and you reply back with a “hey” as well.

“Wanna get out of here?” Haechan asks you. “We can take a walk together, if you want.”

You nod, smiling at him as he gestures with two fingers for you to follow him out.

The two of you walked around the block until you reached a local food chain, opting to sit on the side of the empty parking lot.

The cool wind felt nice against your skin, and you turn your head to face Haechan, who was already looking at you.

You flushed at seeing his gaze on you, his soft smile growing bigger before he started talking.

“Anyway I started watching this new show..”

Haechan’s hands rested on his lap, palms facing upwards towards the night sky. Again, your attention was drawn to the rings adorning his hands. The simple silver band on his left index finger, the delicate ring shaped to look like a rounded nail on his ring finger, and your favorite: the pretty braided metal on his right index finger.

“Everything ok?” He asks you, noticing you hadn’t responded to his question about the show.

Feeling bold for once, you muster the courage to drag your index finger over one of the pretty silver rings adorning his knuckle.

“Sorry, I got distracted by your rings.” You mutter. You let the pad of your fingertips brush against his palm as well, feeling how soft his hands were.

“It’s o-ok. My little cousins are always asking if I’m m-married. So annoying.”

You look up at him, taking in the sight of Haechan’s attempt at being nonchalant, his reddening ears giving him away. You smile softly, bringing your attention back to his hands.

“They’re so pretty.”

Haechan lets out a soft breath when you pull your hand away, hoping you didn’t pick it up.

“Y-you know, my chain is also really nice..” He trails off, never taking his eyes off of you.

You beam at him, secretly enjoying seeing this flustered version of Haechan.

“Stop throwing food at me, Chenle! You’re making my side a mess!” You shove his shoulder as he laughed maniacally at you, having way too much fun at your expense.

“You asked for more tomatoes!” He shot back, defending his honor.

He was having fun alright, you on the other hand were stressed out. Maybe you should’ve known his schemes when he suggested Overcooked, an innocent smile on his lips as he promised everything will go smoothly… It didn’t.

“Zhong Chenle, one more tomato and I’ll-” He hit you square in the face with one.

Whipping your head in his direction, you gave him just a few seconds to brace himself before you pounced at him, hands trapping him under your body.

Chenle blinked up at you in surprise, hands instinctively holding onto your waist. Even if he was caught out of guard, he’d always reach out to you, to make sure you’d be alright. Just in case, of course.

“You! You’re doing this on purpose! You just want to annoy me! Ugh, Chenle, you’re so- Hmpf!” Your little angry rant gets interrupted by him pressing his lips to yours, hands pulling you down by the waist, making you lose your balance and fall on top of him.

Taking his chance he quickly flipped you over, pressing you against the couch, hands roaming your body as the kiss got more intense. You felt dizzy, either from the movement or the kiss, or maybe both, you couldn’t tell.

Your hands hesitantly wrapped around his neck, too stubborn to completely give in, but slowly getting lost in the feeling of his lips.

Parting with a shared need to breathe, you both stare at each other, panting as you try to compose yourselves. However, you quickly remembered why you were mad at him, so you frown again, a small pout forming on your lips.

“You’re trying to distract me-”

“You’re hot when you’re mad.” He cuts you off, a sly grin on his face.

“Zhong-” Kiss. “Chenle-” Kiss. “You better-“ Kiss. “Stop this right now!”

With your hands over his mouth, you squirm underneath him as you finally let out a giggle, too amused by his actions to stay mad at him.

A triumphant grin makes itself known on his lips he lets go of your hands, sitting up and helping you up as well in the process.

“Sigh…You’re hot when you smile too. Can I kiss you again? I promise to play nice this time!”
