so not only does genki canonly exist in the reboot but it seems strongly implied that he and doc ketchum worked together at some point??? i do not like that concept At All!
#mar.txt#saints row#professor genki#doc ketchum#<- does he even have a tag ik he doesn't even have a wiki page#saints row 2022#genuinely baffled that ive seen quite literally ZERO mention ANYWHERE that a) he does in fact show up in murder circus (well not HIM him#but someone dressed as him and he's talked about + afterwards kev mentions that definitely wasn't the real him because he's immortal,so#apparently immortal in his case not only means unaging but also straight up unable to die)#and b) there's. so many things referencing him on boot hill?? a TON of cat heads that appear to quite obviously be stylized genki, that#appear to have been painted over a different colour than pink, booths that say smthn like 'the doc and professor show',and on the main#hidden history thingy (which i ALSO couldn't find a SINGLE guide for/barely any mention of on google ANYWHERE) that has doc's face painted#on it saying smthn like 'doc says hello' there's a little sign tacked on that says 'genki lives!!!' which. ??????#i wonder if they worked together and doc tried to fuck him over at some point, possibly by killing him#which obviously did not work#anyways. murder circus is fun so is the reboot and i'm baffled at how so few people seem to have put the (imo quite obvious when you see#them) pieces together that the reboot likely IS in fact a direct tie to the reboot ending of gat out of hell#anyways im completely normal about saints row and genki can't you tell i definitely didn't stay up way past my bedtime specifically to#grind out murder circus so i could see genki (he's got some nice Drip™️ btw it looks kind of marshall-inspired)#i'm going to be slowly going ever more slightly insane over pondering wtf the connection between he and doc ketchum is

My Masterlist
Clark Kent was a simple man, for the most part. He had preferences, sure. But he knew what he liked, and went for those things more often than not. One of his preferences was a certain kind of woman.
And you were that kind of woman. His Sunflower.
The perfect combination of submissive and strong-willed. What others may call bratty, Clark would call “a little feisty” and he wouldn’t change it for the world.
And that is where Clark was anything but simple. He was your Dominant, you were his submissive. He loved you, he provided for you, and he kept you safe. He kissed the ground you walked on, he broke you, and he put you back together.
The first time you met Clark Kent was in the break room of the Daily Planet.
You were an intern for the summer, just working to get some credits toward your journalism degree. You weren’t all that interested in going to warzones and reporting on drug lords and shit. You wanted to tell stories about starving artists and activism. You wanted to surprise people with your ability to capture the essence of someone’s emotion and relate it to the reader’s own experiences.
While doing your writing at work, while you were supposed to be doing whatever Lois Lane threw at you this morning, you decided to take a break to recharge. Since energy drinks gave you the jitters, you opted for a warm-ish mug of hours-old coffee.
As you reached up to the cabinet to get a mug, you watched as a hand appears above you to grab the handles of two mugs. You turned, following the hand, to see who reached over you. Eyes blue like the Atlantic Ocean behind a pair of plain black rectangular frames looked back at you. You can’t help but smile at him as he beamed, bright enough to illuminate your entire day.
And your writer’s brain was getting way ahead of itself already. Who the hell was this mountain of a man? I wonder what his lips taste like. Should that tie go with that shirt? Fuck, did he just ask me something?
“I’m sorry, what?” You shook yourself out of your thoughts.
“I asked if you wanted the black or the flower mug. I was gonna offer the flower. But I’d rather not assume you didn’t wanna just take the plain one. So, I’m gonna stop talking and let you answer.”
Fuck, he’s cute when he rambles.
“Sunflowers are my favorite.” He offered the mug and your fingers touch and you’re glad that you are the only two in the break room.
“Clark,” he says, as he poured himself some coffee, “Clark Kent.”
You gave your name and he put out a hand to shake yours. With your hand in his, you notice how it engulfed your own. You thought to yourself about that hand around your throat. Just lightly squeezing the sides of your neck, as a warning.
“Nice to meet you. I hope Lois has been easy on you. She can be a little…much.” He said it in a way that lead you to believe he’s been on the demanding end of Lois more than once.
“Eh, she’s alright. I mean, Ms. Lane is just fine.” You tried to cover your disdain for Lois. In reality, you saw her as a ‘Pick-Me’, but you tried to give her the benefit of the doubt.
“Yeah, sure she is. I dated her, so I know her pretty well. Not that I should be saying anything. But, don’t let her try and get in your head. She’ll use whatever she can to get a scoop, whether in the field or the workplace. She’s a great journalist, but-” You cut him off, not wanting to take part in putting down another woman.
“I think I get the hint. Watch my back around her.” You assure him you understood as you poured your coffee and put in some cream and sugar.
“Yeah, sorry. I shouldn’t talk about her behind her back. That was rude of me. My mother would be disappointed in me for that.” He looked into his mug, and you saw that he was not proud of himself for putting down his ex.
“It’s all good, Clark. I can tell you didn’t mean anything by it. Emotions are tricky, ya know?” You don’t know why you wanted to give him an ‘out’, but you did.
“That, they are. I better get back. See ya around,” He gave a cute little wave and exited the room.
The first time Clark Kent called you Sunflower happened about a month after your first meeting.
The two of you ended up together on a test run for Perry to see how you go about working with other reporters. He probably just wanted to see if I could share a byline.
You could tell that Lois saw a tenacity in you that reminded her of her younger self. While that was great, you wanted to be seen for your ability to get people to talk to you without making them feel like they were in an interview. Just a conversation between people.
When you asked Clark to work on the assignment with you, he jumped at the opportunity. In truth, he wanted the chance to see you at work. He’d listen to Lois talk about how you just saw things differently. Almost like she was jealous, but she would never admit to that.
“So I was thinking we could go to Gotham. Before you say anything, I know it’s dangerous there but we’ll be going during the day. And I finally got the go-ahead from Wayne Enterprises to shadow one of their board members. A Day in the Life kind of piece. What do you think?” You rambled out, arms crossed as you leaned against Clark’s desk.
“I think I can get you an exclusive with Bruce Wayne if you wanted.” He stated nonchalantly.
“I would owe you big time. Wait, how the hell do you know Wayne? What, were you boy scouts together or something?”
“We just end up at a lot of the same places.” Clark offers no other explanation.
“Right,” you nodded at him, not letting it go, “So, I run point on this and you back me up?”
“Sounds perfect. You’ll do great, just know he will try and flirt with you so don’t make it easy for him, Sunflower.” The nickname caused heat to rise to your face, remembering that first time you met him.
“Sure, like the most eligible bachelor in Gotham who can buy whatever he wanted would look at me twice?” You weren’t being down on yourself too much, more like you were being realistic. The man had dated supermodels and heiresses, not chubby junior reporters.
“Without sounding unprofessional, trust me when I say Bruce will look at you more than twice. You say the word and I’ll set him straight.” Was that flirtatious? No way.
“Um, if you say so, Clark,” you tried to laugh it off and walk away but Clark caught your wrist, your eyes locked with his and you felt…something.
“I do say so, Sunflower,” he lowered his hand from around your wrist, “Just prepare to shut him down more than once. He’s, uh, persistent.”
“You trying to save me for yourself, huh?” You couldn’t help yourself. If he denies it, you could say you were joking. If he confirms it, then…
He simply smiled and tilted his head, neither confirming nor denying.
During your interview with Bruce Wayne, you were surprised that he indeed did flirt with you as Clark said he would. You managed to steer the conversation back to Wanye Enterprises each time he would stray to learn more about you. You would give him a detail here and a tidbit there, but you kept it professional. Clark was there to take notes, letting you take the lead. He was impressed by you. You kept Bruce flirting with you to get him to spill details about new things he was working on for Gotham.
The first time you kissed Clark Kent was three months into your internship.
Lois had taken a shine to you, loving what few pieces you were able to get past the intern pool and into an issue. You figured it would be in your best interest to go to her with any journalistic questions you had. You may not like her very much, but she was still a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and you would be an idiot not to take a few pointers from her.
There was one thing you didn’t talk to her about, and that was the massive crush you had on her ex. It just seemed too messy, and honestly, you didn’t need her permission to do anything.
That’s why you accepted Clark’s invitation to make you dinner. Frankly, you weren't surprised he asked you. You had been flirting with each other, exchanging glances and smiles across the office. Spending hours a night talking on the phone and texting back and forth naturally lead you here.
Armed with a bottle of wine and all the courage you could muster, you make it to Clark’s apartment just as he is finishing dinner. He answers the door in jeans and a grey long-sleeved henley, looking so comfortable and so different without a tie on. He thanked you for the wine, took your wrist to pull you behind him, and shut the door with a socked foot.
Pouring you both a glass, he congratulated you for completing half of your internship. It completely slipped your mind that you had reached this milestone, but he remembered. And that was saying a lot. You clinked your glasses together and took a sip of the pinot noir.
“This is going to go great with dinner. Thank you again for picking up some. I can’t believe I forgot to,” Clark bantered, setting his wine glass down to check on the pork tenderloin and roasted potatoes.
“You were too busy trying to impress me,” You insisted, smiling when he gives you a stern look.
“Watch it, Sunflower,” is all you hear and you shifted from one foot to the other to hide your search for friction. You barely had two sips of wine in your system before this man had you feeling drunk.
“Time to let the pork rest while the potatoes finish up. Should be done in a bit,” Clark picked up his wine glass, settling his other hand on your lower back to guide you to the island counter. He didn’t expect it when a shiver ran up your spine and caused you to giggle, but he’d be lying if he said he didn’t like it.
You sat and chatted during dinner like you’ve known each other for ages and it just felt very comfortable. He told you about his mom, growing up in Smallville, and how he came to work at the Daily Planet. You spoke about your schooling and how you’d one day like to write for the Planet and publish a book of short stories. He was stuck on your every word and it made you feel important to have his undivided attention.
After dinner, you retired to the living room to watch some tv. It was more just on as background noise as you conversed with each other. When you both reached for the wine bottle at the same, you both laugh and then look at each other. And it was all you could do not to melt into a puddle as those blue eyes stare longingly at you.
Clark reached up and took off his glasses before tossing them on the coffee table. Fuck. But, he does nothing more. For what seems like minutes, you sat in silence just staring into each other’s eyes until you speak up.
“Clark, please?” You whined, growing more frustrated with every second.
“Use your words. Tell me what you need, Sunflower.” The way he said it had you shifting in your seat.
“I need you to kiss me, please?” You pleaded, the little crack in your voice not missed by Clark.
He cupped your face with one large paw, his touch so soft that you leaned into it to feel his warmth. His thumb moved over to wipe across your lips, followed swiftly by his lips.
Your lips met and you felt the warmth radiating from him. You could taste the sweetness of the wine on his tongue as he begged for entry. You let him in, moaning into his mouth. Clark grunted in return and pulled away to rest your foreheads together.
“I have wanted that for far too long, Sunflower,” Clark groaned, licking his lips.
“Me too,” you whisper, scooting closer to Clark to lace your fingers together, “Can we do it again?”
Instead of answering you, he pulled you into his lap and attacked your mouth with fervor.
The first time you tell Clark Kent you love him is exactly two months after your first kiss.
It was completely by accident, but no less true.
Clark invited you over for dinner and a movie. The two of you were in the middle of watching 10 Things I Hate About You. Patrick was dancing on the bleachers and singing to Kat. The most romantic scene in the movie apart from the poetry scene.
“Ya know, if we went to high school together and you sang ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’ to me in front of the whole school, I would have melted,” you say, stuffing popcorn into your face, “But then, I already love you, so you wouldn’t have to do the whole singing thing.”
Clark’s head whipped around so fast that you can feel the wind coming off of him. “What did you just say, Sunflower?”
You look to Clark and you realized what you had said at the same moment and your eyes went wide. “I think I just confessed love during a ‘90s romcom.”
“Yeah, I think you did,” Clark looked at you with that look in his eyes, “Good thing I love you, too.” He says nonchalantly, trying to not freak you out, and went back to watching the movie.
“Clark, I love you.” You wanted to feel the words on your tongue again.
“I love you too, Sunflower.” Hearing the words come from him was like a cozy embrace that coated the night in warmth.
The first time you had sex with Clark Kent was at the end of your internship.
Clark wanted to wait-
No, he didn’t want to wait, but he chose to wait until your internship was over and you were offered an actual job at the Daily Planet to not seem like he was cruising for tail in the intern pool.
Little did you know, but Clark had it all planned out. Candlelit dinner, romantic music, wine, and chocolates. The whole nine yards. But you didn’t get to experience that version of lovemaking.
At the same time Clark was lighting candles, he heard your heartbeat spike across town. He sped away to your location, without putting on his suit. He flew above the city before he found you being held up at gunpoint in an alleyway and his blood boiled. He watched you comply with your attacker and hand over your purse before flying down behind the man quietly. The man had no idea what hit him when Clark flicked his temple and the assailant falls over unconscious.
He didn’t even think to keep his identity secret anymore. He steps over the man to get to you and check you over for injuries, both external and internal. When he sees nothing, he questions you, “Are you alright, Sunflower?”
You look almost through him because there he is in a sweater and dark-wash jeans, glasses slightly askew. You step back an inch as he reaches out to you. He can see it in your eyes that you are piecing together little moments.
How he got across town in what seemed like seconds. How he never got sick. How it felt like he was always hiding something. This is what he was hiding from you. For your safety? For his?
“There were so many times I wanted to tell you I was Superman, I just didn’t know how. Do you forgive me, Sunflower?” Clark’s pleading ultramarine eyes burned into yours.
“I mean, I guess this is as good a time as any to tell me. I have so many questions. Of which, you will answer all of them, Clark. But, all I need to know right now is how the hell you found me?” Your breathing was starting to speed up again and you tried to calm down but given the circumstances, you were acting pretty normal.
“I kind of, know your heartbeat. I can hear it at all times. Wherever you are, I can hear you,” Clark makes an odd face and then forces out an embarrassed laugh, “Now that I say that out loud, it sounds weird.”
“Yeah, it’s a little weird. But it’s also super romantic, too,” you reach to Clark and pull him to you, “What’s my heart sound like now?”
“Sounds like you’re excited,” he let his hand drag down your body, “Smells like it too. Now, why would that be?”
“I mean, I did just find out my boyfriend is a superhero. That’s sorta hot. Sorta, I mean, he hasn’t taken me flying yet.”
“Brat! How hard is it to ask for what you want?” He picked up your purse from the unconscious attacker and handed it to you. When it is secured around your shoulder, Clark picked you up and you wrap your legs around his hips. “Hold on, Sunflower.” He took off so fast that the world blurred around you.
As he got closer to his apartment, he slowed down and flew a bit higher near the clouds. He rolled over onto his back so that you are straddling him. His hands found each other behind his head as he floated above Metropolis, all attention directed at you. Your eyes wandered around the city as you adjusted your seating which stirred his arousal.
Clark tried to adjust himself under you without you noticing but instead, you took the opportunity to grind your clothed sexes together. The groan that escaped Clark’s mouth is enough to spur you on to continue your ministrations. His eyes are already rolling back in his head and you feel quite proud of yourself. You reached under Clark’s sweater and ran your fingers through his chest hair as you continue to work your hips over him.
“Clark?”
“Yes, Sunflower?” He opened his eyes, pupils were blown wide with lust, breathing becoming unstable.
“Take me to your place so we can get more comfortable?” You flirted with him, wrapping your arms around his neck and shimmying up his body.
“Yes, Ma’am.” He grabbed under your thighs to have you wrap your legs around him once more and began to descend to the balcony of his apartment. He let you inside first but is quickly behind you following you into his bedroom as you start to shed your layers.
You spun around and gave Clark a show of your skin becoming visible in the moonlight. When you are fully undressed, you knelt in front of him with your head down and your hands on your thighs.
He walked over to you and kissed the top of your head. He listened for your heartbeat, and it was steady, if not a little heightened. You were awaiting instruction, as far as he could tell.
“Sunflower, I want you to pick a safe word.” He stood behind you and undressed down to his underwear.
“Unicorn is my safe word.”
“Good girl,” Clark caressed your shoulders and squeezed them, “Are you okay with calling me Sir?”
“Yes, Sir.” Your heart rate evened out, Clark noticed. You’re happy. He beamed down at you.
“Good girl, now turn around and take out Sir’s dick.”
You turned around and reach up to Clark’s boxer briefs, cupping him over the fabric before hooking your fingers into the waistband and pulling the underwear down and off. His length sprung up to bounce in front of your face and you lick your lips in anticipation but don’t go any further without direction.
“Such a good girl, Sunflower,” he grabbed your chin between his thumb and forefinger, tilting your face up to meet his eyes, “Come lay down so Sir can taste you. I can already smell how wet you are.”
You took his hands as he helped you up. Clark pulled you close to his body, your back against his chest. He attacked your neck, nipping and sucking marks that would show in the morning. His length on your hip has you testing your limits.
As if reading your mind, Clark reached down and cupped your netherlips. You instinctively clamped your thighs around his hand and he used a foot to kick your legs apart. With one hand exploring your cunt, the other slides around your throat as a warning.
“Don’t ever block me from my pussy, Sunflower. This belongs to Sir now, doesn’t it?”
“Yes, Sir, it belongs to you.” You were sure Clark could feel you clench around nothing and you didn’t care. You wanted him to know he was doing everything right.
“Good girl,” He dipped a finger into your wetness and pulled it back out to wipe across your bottom lip, “We’re both gonna taste your sweet honey.” He used the hand around your throat to turn you around so he could claim your lips.
You tasted yourself as his tongue invaded you, whimpering into his mouth. His answering groans had you trembling. He walked you backward until your legs hit the edge and he pushed you down. Leaning over, he knelt and pushed your thighs back as far as they would go, marveling at your glistening slit.
With the flat of his tongue, he licked from your entrance to your neglected nub, pausing to suck on it lightly. He ate with the hunger of a man starved. He steeled his tongue, probing your core and tasting you from within. He made out with your pussy, pulling back to spit on it which drew moans from you and had you squeezing your breasts in response.
Clark was good at this, not that you were surprised because of how good of a kisser he was, but fuck! The way he fingered your pussy, making sure to curve his fingers to hit that sensitive bundle of nerves inside was heavenly.
When he sped up his fingers and pushed down on your lower stomach, you gasped and realized he understood the assignment. He was rewarded with you squirting over his hands and chest.
“Such a good girl for me, Sunflower,” he said, before sucking your juices off of his fingers and moving your limp body up the bed, “Now, you’re going to be an extra good girl and take Sir’s dick.”
That was all the warning you received before Clark was pushing in, stretching you wide over his thick hardness. With every inch, he would pull out and press in an inch more than the last thrust. He made sure to stretch you slowly, keeping your tightness while allowing you to get used to his girth.
“That’s right, Sunflower, open those sweet petals for Sir,” Clark soothes your whines as he fucks into you, “I promise I’ll make it all better when you let me all…the way…in.” He punctuated his words with jolts from his hips.
When he is finally seated inside you, he pauses. The sudden stop has you reaching for Clark and moving your hips to gain friction.
“Look at you trying to fuck yourself on my cock,” he leaned over you and watched as tears flow from your eyes, “These tears are gorgeous, but use your words. Tell me what you want.”
“Sir, please,” you whined, looking into his eyes, “Need you to fuck me, please.”
The smile on Clark’s face is brilliant, he’s got you right where he wants you. He kissed your face, stopping to wipe away your tears with his tongue. Pulling back, he secured your legs around his hips before he leaned down to wrap one hand around both of your wrists, holding them above your head.
When Clark fucked you, he paid attention to every aspect of your body. He looked into your eyes. He kissed and nipped at your neck. He pinched and teased your nipples. He rubbed your clit while he pounded inside you.
Clark just did it better than any of your partners before. Maybe because you allowed yourself to be vulnerable around him? Or maybe because he was just…better. It didn’t matter. The only thing that mattered was that you were with him and he was inside you and you were all his.
You lost track of how many times you came, but Clark remembers every time. He committed them to memory, seeing you arch your back and feeling your walls flutter around him. He could tell by the sheen of sweat on your body and the way your body is vibrating that you were beyond spent. Possibly even a bit overstimulated. Perfect.
“You ready for my cum, Sunflower?” He licked his thumb and pressed on your clit as you keen, “Do you think you can hold on for me for just a bit longer?”
“Yes, Sir,” you moan as he slid his hands to your hips.
“There’s my good girl,” he groaned and began his assault on your pussy. At this angle, he can stimulate both your hooded center and your G-spot. A punishing pace that set you ablaze. While you held onto his biceps, you looked into his eyes. Where there used to be blue irises, only dark pupils remained. His curly hair was a sweaty mess on his forehead. He was barely a man now, more like an animal rutting into you.
Before long, his hips stutter in their onslaught. Breathing erratically, he squeezed your hips so hard you knew there would be bruises tomorrow. He moved to kiss your neck and latched onto your shoulder with his teeth as you feel every twitch of him releasing inside you. You know there will be bite marks in your shoulder for days but you don’t care.
Clark’s teeth left you, followed closely by his tongue soothing your almost-broken skin. Sometimes, he didn’t know his strength. And it was a close one this time. He was still inside you semi-hard before he decided to pull out slowly causing you to whine at the sudden feeling of emptiness.
He moved from the bed for a moment. You closed your eyes for a millisecond before you feel warm wetness between your legs.
“Just cleaning you up, Sunflower,” He wipes your delicate folds softly and throws the towel in the clothes hamper before crawling in bed beside you, “You go right to sleep, you deserve it.”
The last time you refer to yourself as Clark’s girlfriend is a year and a half into your relationship.
Clark proposes to you over dinner in the house you bought together. He bought the ring after you talked about marriage just two weeks ago. Well, technically, Bruce helped him buy the ring. As in, Bruce bought the jewelers store and had them design the perfect ring for you.
A smoky quartz center with marquise and pear-shaped citrine petals around it. You had mentioned more than once that you didn’t want a diamond engagement ring, you wanted something that matched your style.
Clark presented the ring to you on one knee, ever the traditionalist. You said yes, of course.
This man was your life, your hope, and your future. You looked forward to every minute of every hour of every day with him.
He is your light in the darkness, and you are his Sunflower.
A/N: Yes, the title is from "Sunflower" by Post Malone/Swae Lee. Yes, the song was for a Spider-Man movie. So, what? It's a good song.

Lavender - Ch. 32
You, Joel and Ellie make unexpected friends in Kansas City. A continuation of Lavender Ch. 1-31 found on Tumblr here.
Pairing: Joel Miller x Female Reader
Warnings: Canon-typical violence. No use of Y/N. Minors DNI 18+ only
Length: 3.5K
“Alright,” Joel’s hands rose from inside the sleeping bag, slowly. He noticed a boy, couldn’t have been more than 10, cowering behind man with a fucking gun to your head. A man he very much wanted to kill. “Point those at me, not them.”
“Doesn’t matter,” the man shook his head. “Don’t want to hurt anyone, just want to help. I’m not going to shoot anyone if you don’t make me. You’re not going to make me, right?”
“Not going to make you,” Joel sat up slowly. “Just put the guns down, we can forget about all this.”
“You’re not going to hurt me if I do, right?” He asked. The guns were still out. Joel ground his teeth. “I didn’t hurt your girls, you don’t hurt us, OK?”
“Yeah,” Joel growled.
“Doesn’t sound like you mean that,” the man glanced to you and Ellie. “Look man, I’ve never done this shit before, OK? I need to know you’re not going to fucking kill us…”
“He’s just an asshole!” Ellie said quickly. “He sounds like an asshole, all the time, right Doc? She’s known him forever and he’s never killed her but he sounds like an asshole, right?”
“Yeah,” you said quickly. “Yeah, he usually just sounds like an asshole. He won’t hurt a kid, trust me. And you’re not going to orphan a kid if you can help it, right Joel?”
“Right,” he said, voice still strained.
“Dude,” Ellie looked at him. “Come on!”
“Anyone tries anything,” the man said, looking between the three of you. “I kill her, got it?” He nodded in your direction. Joel clenched his jaw but nodded. “Don’t have much choice but to trust you…”
The man with the guns lowered them, slowly, and Joel watched you visibly relax.
“What do you want with us?” You asked, lowering your hands. “You said you don’t want to hurt us, are you here to turn us in?”
“No,” he shook his head and laughed once, darkly. “No, can’t turn you in. You three might be the second most wanted people in Kansas City but I’m the first. Turning you in would just get us killed, too.”
“So what do you want with us?” Joel asked, on his feet now. He had a few inches and plenty of muscle on the other man. He looked at you and Ellie. Both of you looked intact. Or, at least, no more damaged than you were when the three of you had come up here.
“I’d like to work together,” he said.
You were smiling a little at the boy who still looked uncertain.
“Hi there,” you said gently. Your voice was still raspy.
“He’s deaf,” the man said to you quickly. “His name is Sam. I’m Henry… The kid called you Doc, are you a doctor?”
“Yeah,” you said, looking up. “Are you hurt?”
Joel resisted the urge to roll his eyes. The man had just held you at gunpoint and you were offering to help him.
“No but, could you look over Sam?” He asked. “I’m just… nervous.”
“Yeah, of course,” you smiled down at the boy again and signed at him. He smiled and signed back. You looked up at the man. “Sorry, I only know a little, I’ll need you to translate a lot of it…”
Ellie settled back in on the floor, looking content and, for half a moment, Joel wondered if he was the only sane one of you. You’d just been held at gunpoint and suddenly everyone was going to play nice with the man who did it.
You gave the boy a quick exam, signing and gesturing and smiling as you did. You finished and went into your bag, pulling out some food and handing it to both the newcomers. Joel wanted to be pissed at you for it but… the kid looked skinny.
“Thank you,” the man said, seeming sincere. “We’ve been trying to stretch what we have for a while. It’s hard telling him no when he says he’s hungry, you know?”
You nodded, eating a piece of jerky yourself.
“How old is he?” Ellie asked, nodding at the kid. The man tapped him, signed to him and the boy signed back.
“He says he’s eight,” he replied.
“Cool,” Ellie smiled a little, nodding a bit, before she waved. “I’m Ellie.”
The man signed at the kid who nodded and signed back with a smile. Both you and Ellie looked at him, expectant.
“I’m Joel,” he eventually said gruffly. Ellie rolled her eyes. “Look, it seems like we’ve all gotten something out of this deal. You didn’t kill us in our sleep so we got to live, you got some food and medical attention. Why don’t we just go our separate ways before someone gets hurt.”
“See, I’d take you up on that,” Henry said. “But I think we’re after the same thing. And I think it makes a lot of sense for us to work together.”
“What are we after then?” Joel asked.
“A way out of Kansas City,” he said. “I saw some of what you did yesterday. Not like you made many friends in town. I’m thinking that’s why you’re up so high, you wanted to stay out of their way and get a good vantage point to plot a way out. Come daylight, I’m happy to show you one. If you bring us with you.”
“Why should I trust you,” Joel asked.
“Well,” he shrugged. “If you don’t, you’ll end up picked up by the resistance and they’ll kill you. So really, what do you have to lose?”
***
Joel clearly didn’t trust Henry as far as he could throw him.
His arm had still been around you when Ellie roused you, a gun held to her. She’d pressed a finger to her lips and your eyes went wide, ready to wake Joel but she shook her head, gently lifting Joel’s arm from you so you got up slowly, carefully.
Joel hadn’t taken kindly to seeing you and Ellie at gunpoint. That wasn’t surprising. But you were surprised at how close he’d stuck to you since the guns were put away.
You were confident that Henry wasn’t a threat. He’d just been desperate to save his brother. When you went to try to sleep again, it wasn’t any harder to rest then than it had been before he’d put a gun to your head. Joel, on the other hand, wouldn’t even lie down. He did, however, keep one hand on you, his heavy palm on your side as you tried to get a few more hours sleep.
“That’s Killa City.” Henry said in the morning, the three of you looking out over the city while the kids played a few feet away. “And right now, Kathleen owns every goddamn inch of it.”
“What happened to FEDRA?” You asked, frowning. “I’ve heard things on the radio over the years but wasn’t sure how true it was…”
“Did you hear that they raped, tortured and murdered people for the last 20 years?” He asked. “Because after decades of that, the second anyone else can get a foothold, people will take power like that down. And that’s what happened. It’d been building for a while but it all came to a head and FEDRA fell almost two weeks ago.”
Joel was standing so close to you that you could feel him breathing.
“The resistance has taken total control,” he said. “Every street, every building, every freeway that wraps around this damn city is run by her. But there is a way out. If you’ll help us.”
“Sounds like you’ve got it under control,” Joel said. “What do you need us for?”
“I can’t do what you can do,” Henry replied. He glanced back toward the kids, making sure they were occupied, before continuing. “I saw you. Yesterday. You took down those men like it was fuckin’ nothing. I can’t do that…”
“You’re armed,” Joel shrugged. “Clearly have the balls to do it.”
“Yeah, that?” He shook his head. “That was the first time I’ve ever done anything like that. I’ve never killed anyone, I’ve never fucking shot someone. I can’t do what you can do. But I can be your guide through Kansas City. I’ll show you the way, you clear it. That simple.”
“Why does Kathleen want you so bad?” You asked. “If we might be working with you, we should know just why you’ve pissed off the leader of the resistance here so bad.”
“I’m not FEDRA, I’m worse,” he said. “I’m a conspirator.”
“No,” Joel shook his head sharply. “No way, not workin’…”
“Didn’t you say once that everyone’s done things they’re not proud of?” You cut him off, raising your brows at him. You’d accepted that he was a killer, that he’d hurt people who didn’t deserve to be hurt. Yeah, FEDRA here sounded like its own special breed of horrible, but sometimes you did what you had to to survive. “Not sure you’re in a place to judge, Joel.”
He glared at you before looking back at Henry.
“Fine,” he said. “What’s the way out?”
Henry told you about the tunnels, that they’d been cleared of infected by FEDRA years ago. You looked over at Ellie and Sam, the two of them writing notes back and forth, laughing.
“I don’t think we can just hide,” you said, looking up at Joel. Your voice was just about back to normal. “And we have to get to Wyoming…”
“It’s the best shot we have,” Joel sighed.
“Then let’s go,” Henry said.
He’d been right, about the tunnels. They were mercifully empty and quiet, even if they looked like something out of one of the horror movies Joel liked to put on when you were first dating.
“Oh cool!” Ellie ran into a room off the tunnel before you or Joel could stop her.
“Dammit,” he muttered, following behind her.
You understood why she’d just gone for it, once you saw the room. It was filled with toys and books, drawings still taped to the walls. It reminded you of your classroom from before, filled with little signs that the people who were supposed to come here every day were loved.
“What is this place?” You frowned, heading for a bookshelf.
“Heard about things like this,” Joel said, looking around. “After the outbreak, people moved underground, had their own societies. Course either the rules didn’t protect from everything they should have or people didn’t listen to them. All it took was one person getting infected…”
“Fuck yeah!” Ellie plopped down at a table that was clearly meant for someone closer to Sam’s size than her own. “I love this comic! Can we stay? Just for a bit? There’s actually shit to DO in here…”
“Probably better to wait out daylight,” Henry shrugged.
Joel sighed.
“Keep the puns to a minimum,” he said, pulling out a chair at a table meant for adults. Ellie punched the air and opened the comic with Sam looking over her arm.
“Your daughter…” Henry began, but Joel cut him off.
“Not my daughter,” he said sharply. You frowned a little, looking over at Ellie. She was absorbed in the comic.
“She’s a good kid,” Henry said. “It’s nice… seeing Sam with a friend.”
“Her, too,” you smiled a little. “She’s been lonely for a bit. She needs it.”
“Look,” Joel said after a moment. “At this point, we’re gonna be walkin’ to Wyoming over the next two months but… if you wanted to come….”
“I’d like that,” Henry said quickly. “I’d like that a lot.”
You left the men to talk for a moment, wandering the room to see if you could figure out just how long ago this place had been occupied by people. Some of the drawings on the walls were dated but it looked like it had been 10 years since a new one had gone up.
Ellie played soccer with Sam, the pair of them taking turns kicking the ball at a chunk of wall that had been painted to say “goal” with the drawing of a net around the edges.
You went to the bookshelf and tried to find some things you thought would hold Ellie’s attention. The walk to Wyoming was going to be long. Ellie was going to need something to keep her mind busy when you were stopped for the night.
There were a few books that you had vague memories of that had never made it onto your shelves in Boston. You grabbed them, adding them to your pack, before wandering back over to Joel and sitting next to him.
“Should check on Sam,” Henry muttered, getting up and leaving you and Joel alone.
“How are you doing?” He asked after a moment, looking you up and down.
“Throat’s almost back to normal,” you said. “I got lucky. It could have been much worse.”
He nodded slowly, shifting in his chair so he was leaning toward you. His elbow brushed your arm.
“Can I ask you something?” You said quickly, before you could think better of it. He just nodded once. “Are you OK?”
He frowned.
“What d’you mean?”
“I mean,” you said slowly. “You’ve been… You keep touching me. Last night, back in Lincoln… I just want to make sure you’re doing OK. You can just talk to me, if you need someone to talk to. You don’t have to touch me, it’s OK.”
He paused, frowning a little.
“You think I’d only touch you if something was wrong?” He said after a moment.
“I mean,” you laughed a little. “I was there for the last 15 years, too. I hope nothing is wrong but… I know you offered to take us west but I don’t expect you to take care of me. You’re not beholden to me for that. You don’t need to try to deal with my issues when I do something like kill someone. I’ll get through it.
“Anyway, I just wanted to make sure that you were OK,” you continued. “You’re just not acting like yourself.”
“M’fine,” he grumbled after a moment, getting to his feet. “We should keep movin’.”
***
He almost didn’t want to admit that Henry had been right about the tunnels but Henry had been right about the tunnels.
They’d been deserted, no sign of infected or resistance in sight. It made it easy to get across the city, get out from the core of it that the resistance had locked down.
Joel found it funny how quickly shit like the resistance became just like the thing they were fighting against. Them and the fuckin’ Fireflies both, saying they’re better than FEDRA and the shit they do. In the meantime, Fireflies are blowing people up, the resistance is hunting down a man trying to take care of his baby brother. The second a person has power, they abuse it. It seemed to be the only constant thing about people. They were always ready to hurt.
Joel was no different.
You were.
You, who thought he was acting weird because he’d been kind to you. Because he’d touched you. You didn’t trust his kindness any more than he trusted FEDRA. Tommy had told him once that you’d stop forgiving him.
He’d thought, once, that he’d pushed you that far. But you kept proving him wrong. He just hoped that he hadn’t gotten you to the point that Tommy had warned him about. He wasn’t sure he could come back from that.
But touching you… He could fix that. He could stop pushing you away, he could apologize, he could do whatever you needed until you felt safe letting him love you again. He knew he could do it.
He was done trying to keep his distance from you. Done trying to pretend like, if he was far enough away, losing you wouldn’t kill him. It would. It didn’t matter if you were beside him or across the planet it would hurt the same.
It seemed so stupid now, in hindsight, thinking that the distance could change anything at all. You’d become a part of him decades ago, he couldn’t cut you out of him any more than he could cut out a lung or his nervous system. Loving you was part of the fabric of him.
That fact hurt. It hurt at the core of him, that he cared that much. It was aching and vulnerable and terrifying but that ache was there whether he acknowledged it or not. That’s what he’d fought against for years, the notion that he loved you and couldn’t do a damn thing to save himself from it. He knew now that he couldn’t. All he could do was surrender to it, to your soft smiles, to the ribbons in your hair, to the thick laughter when the girl read a pun aloud from her book. All he could do was let it swallow him and love you through it. Keep you and the girl safe as you made your way west. Because that’s what he was here to do. Protect you.
“Don’t know why we can’t just use our lights out here,” Ellie said after they’d been back at street level for a few minutes. “No one’s out here to be hiding from…”
“Want it to stay that way,” Joel grumbled. “We’ll be clear of the city soon enough….”
He barely got the last word out when the bullet went whizzing past him.
His chest went tight and his stomach dropped. Time slowed. He looked for you and Ellie, you’d been walking together, joking about something, he’d heard you laugh just a minute ago and the sound was so close to Ellie’s voice…
You’d moved faster than him, your hands already on the girl, tucking her low and trying to cover her with your body. Joel grabbed you both and tucked you down low, behind a car, Henry and Sam not far behind. A bullet rang off the hood.
“Fuck!” Henry pressed himself back against the car door, holding Sam tightly to him. “What the fuck is that?”
“They’ve got a sniper,” Joel muttered. “Shitty one but they got one. Must be watchin’ for us to leave town….”
Another bullet hit the car. Joel felt you flinch beside him.
He thought for a second. He couldn’t sit here with you forever. If there were any patrols that came near here, they’d hear the gunshots at the very least. Another bullet hit the car. He’d need to take that sniper out. He freed his pistol.
“What are you doing?” Your eyes were wide, your hands still on Ellie, clutching the girl to your side.
“I’m going to go take him out.”
“No!” You said it quickly. “No, you can’t, you’re going to get yourself killed you can’t…”
“It’s pitch black and he’s a shit shot, Baby, not gonna get myself killed,” he said, keeping his voice calm. He hadn’t meant to call you baby. He didn’t care. “I’ll go, take care of ‘em, we can move. We can’t leave him forever, he’ll either call in backup or someone’ll hear ‘em. I have to go.”
“Joel,” you tried to argue more but he cut you off.
“Stay low.”
He didn’t wait for you to respond, instead darting around the car to another for cover, working his way closer to the house. The bullets followed him but they couldn’t seem to find him. He saw the flash of the muzzle in the window, saw where the shots were coming from. Knew where he had to go.
When he made it to the side of the house, the shots stopped following him. He half expected to get jumped by someone as he ran in the house but no one came. It didn’t take long to figure out why.
The sniper was an old man, someone Joel would normally try to not kill.
But he was a man who had shot at you. Still. He would try to avoid it.
“Give me the gun,” he said, pistol in his hands. “Sit over there for an hour. Then you can go.”
The man glared at him.
“Don’t do it,” he warned, hands tightening on his gun.
The man ignored him, going to raise the rifle.
Joel shot him and he slumped forward, gun in hand.
The man had a fair bit of ammunition stashed up here from the look of it. He must have been sitting on it all instead of practicing. All the better for Joel, who started gathering some up to take back with him. He’d always liked rifles.
He was just about to head back down when there was a crackle at the dead man’s feet.
“We’re close,” a woman’s voice said. “Just hold them there for another minute!”
They were coming. They were almost here and you and Ellie were a football field away and you didn’t know and he couldn’t get to you in time. Not when he could hear a truck coming.
“Run!” He screamed it, grabbing the rifle and getting set in the window, watching for you to move.
You didn’t.
His stomach clenched. His chest got tight. All he could do was try to protect you and Ellie and pray to whatever god there was that it would be enough.
A/N: I know, I know I'm splitting the Kansas City stuff up across multiple chapters but I think it's worth it! I'm excited to share just how Kathleen and Doc interact. Even more excited for the chapter immediately after the KC chapters IYKYK
After the next chapter, we're going to be diving back into OC land for a while - we're going to see a lot more of the walk west than we did on the show. All to our benefit, I think!
I have a taglist! If you'd like to be added, please comment below.
Thank you so much for reading and caring about this story! It means the world to me. Thank you and love you!

omg i was just going through ur babel posts and i was wondering if u had any more details abt the cohortswap au, it looked super interesting! love ur art btw <3
HELLO. I AM SO SO MAD THIS TOOK ME SO LONG TO ANSWER BC I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ASK FOR MONTHS but i haven't had like a single free hour until now ANYWAY OF COURSE THANK U SM FOR TAKING INTEREST
MAJOR BABEL SPOILERS AHEAD //
cohortswap is basically an au eren @chromathesia came up with where griffin and robin swap places in the story; robin is now the older golden child gone astray, and griffin is now the younger second failure. and the rest of the cohorts get swapped with them!
we have a lore doc that is like over 14 pages long but we are keeping the full thing under wraps for now because eren is writing a massive fic they don't want to spoil too early lmaooo
some foundational deets:
ramy still dies... so sorry. except in this case he and robin planned to run and leave babel for the hermes society together (the um. romantic eloping is implied but unfortunately i don't think either of them get a real chance to act on it), and they plan for victoire to stay behind to keep leaking information out to them. letty finds out and betrays them the same way; calling the cops and barging in with a gun and. yeah. except this time, because it happens outside their dorm rooms, robin manages to escape, and drags ramy's body across half of oxford to bury him in the garden of the old library. he is deeply deeply fucked up from this
professor lovell doesn't die... so sorry. furious about robin's betrayal, he blames it on robin being corrupted by spending too long in his home country, and rips griffin out of china early. but he realises very quickly that griffin isn't fluent in chinese and can barely hold a candle to robin's talent. he never tells griffin about robin but very much takes it all out on griffin, who grows up feeling compared to a ghost his whole childhood. when he first meets robin it all clicks, and he can't help but resent his older brother for the hell he got put through
to save herself, victoire sucks up to letty, tells her that she almost got hooked by hermes and wants out and to put it behind them after everything, and letty is so desperate to believe it that she pulls all her strings to vouch for her and keep her safe. victoire remains at babel and she keeps working covertly with hermes under letty's nose. my comic was about letty and victoire first seeing griffin in babel, and mistaking him for robin. letty doesnt take it well lmao but also in her bullheaded stubbornness starts to treats griffin as her second chance to prevent robin's "mistakes" from happening again lollll
so that's like the general premise! here's some other fun deets:
robin is... severely depressed but is determined to follow through on hermes' work and not give himself an easy out like ramy implied. griffin is so desperately eager for more of hermes when he finds out, but robin keeps him at an arms' length for ages because he's literally been wanting to die for years and is not prepared or willing to have a little brother to look after now. they end up butting heads more often than not and it's a very strained relationship (as griffin and robin's relationship is in canon)
when griffin fails his silver-working test, it's because robin tries to help offhand by giving him a matchpair he came up with. griffin can't get it to work in the exam, but worst of all, chakravarti recognises it as robin's work. he doesn't report griffin for it since he's also a part of hermes, but he tries to give griffin a second chance to come up with his own, and griffin can't, so he fails. up until that point griffin had been trying to hide from robin how little he knew, so the look on robin's face when griffin next sees him is unbearable, like, the mix of pity and anger that griffin didn't tell him, the disappointment that griffin wasn't the connection to robin's culture he wanted, the guilt that robin let lovell rip someone else out of their home, and now griffin knows exactly what letting down an older brother feels like. but it all happens in the half second before robin squashes it all down and gets down to business because there are more important things to worry about and maybe it's good that can't get caught up in griffin's life like this. to quote eren: "i think the worst part to griffin would be that robin just treats it like a setback. like okay, that's one less tool for you to use, you'll have to make up for that deficiency somewhere, moving on, when he wants robin to react as though it's personal to him that griffin doesn't measure up because it should be, because griffin's not good enough for their father (and robin always rolls his eyes when griffin tries to claim lovell and griffin knows why but lies to himself that he doesn't) so he must not be good enough to this tarnished golden child, the prodigal son that lovell tried to recreate. but no, he's just slightly more ineffectual gear within the revolution now, that's a slight hiccup at best and not an entire childhood snatched away from a boy whose clearest memory of canton is the smell of sesame oil in a wok"
robin warns griffin about recruiting evie very early on, but doesn't tell him about letty or ramy for a long while because the wound is still fresh. griffin still persists, and robin is forced to whisk griffin out of babel after he kills evie. and he's just a mess whispering "you were right you were right im sorry im so sorry" because robin told him this could happen, but he let love and idealism cloud his judgments with evie, and robin has NEVER seen griffin like this, and any angry berating about griffin's stupid misjudgments die on his lips
griffin/anthony is so so very real. anthony is recruited by victoire separately, so griffin isn't even aware for a while and i think anthony actually held off on telling griffin bc of how close he was with sterling LOL. griffin and sterling had something insane going on at first, with sterling trying to be genuinely sympathetic to griffin's plight as an attempt to distinguish himself from his uncle's legacy, before the years drive them apart and griffin becomes aware that everything sterling conceded to him was merely lipservice. anthony and griffin get really close after they realise the other is already apart of hermes and post-evie as well. eren writes sterling as a critique of armchair radicals who see a sliver of violent liberation in practice and easily revert back into believing that the oppressed are savages. evie is a critique of white woman tears <3 i do believe she cries every time someone called her out for saying anything a little racist
yeah um there is way more and we both have comic/fic wips we're working on for the au but i will end this post here because it got so insanely long christ above. thank you so much for the question though i have soooo many thoughts about cohortswap au it's been absolutely taking over my brain
#cohortswap#babel#babel spoilers#enatchios#chromathesia#long post#i'm literally so sorry this got so long#i feel crazy

Rvb19 thoughts in no particular order
Yeah so. I still think s13 is The capping point for me and all that comes after is hypothetical/simulations or whatever.
First of all. No, you fucking don't get to separate Grif and Simmons.
Having the groups act hostile towards each other (or just the Reds against Caboose again) right after Chorus was a a big enough of a crime already. But those two are a package deal.
So what the fuck even happened in the SoC fight? Why would they let Tucker just walk out in the aftermath? I guess Carolina booked it to go after him bc why else would she leave Wash alone again, after he was supposedly injured?? Also Doc dying, wow rude. Donut and his VA are free to enjoy their break but where' was heeeeeeee where'd he goooooo he was barely mentioned at aaaalllllllll >:(
Sarge's death speech was surprisingly long and clear even though his lungs were probably pierced, cauterized or no.
On one hand I have a hard time seeing Sarge dying peacefully in a bed instead of in battle but he didn't have to stay at that doorway after they got back. He didn't have to die there. I'm glad he went back for Caboose though cuz that is one his boys (even if he's a dirty Blue).
Grif and Simmons talking about him at his grave was pretty good scene and so was the campfire reminiscing one but again, Sarge didn't have to die and I refuse a world where Grif and Simmons would go their separate ways like that. No wonder Gus and Geoff were shocked to find out this was the last season.
I got so excited the second I recognized Tex's knuckle crack ;o;
So close to a proper Tex and Caro combo, though I do get that they wouldn't work well together because of their history and different fighting styles :( Still, even if AI boosted, Tucker shouldn't be anywhere near good enough to go against both.
Also they got Kathleen back for Tex, John Erler for North and Samantha Ireland for CT??? Couldn't have seen that coming. Also Miles was aight doing Elijah Wood's voice but I guess a lot of it was helped by the voice mods.
Beta may have been "a failure" and Sigma is a bitch but his speech at her felt really off. She was still a major part of Alpha and the memories of Allison were the reason the rest of the pieces came to be in the first place. The Meta collective tried to catch her both in cases of the og Tex and Epsi-Tex, so Sigma full on rejecting her and the rest not reacting at all was really weird.
"This time, I'm not based on his memories, I'm based on theirs. And I always kicked their asses." A nice change of pace re: Beta as Alpha's/Allison's "failure". ....
Chex has embedded itself deep into my brain, so of course I Felt Things seeing them interact one last time fr fr. Tex finally got to go out with some agency of her own, yet we've come a full circle, they're back together again as Leonard and Allison. At least one good ending. Easily the best part of the movie.
Security working from home extremely funny, but the bit went on for too long and video calls w/ technical issues bc haha relatable feels like an overdone trope already
Felix being included as a part of the Meta was kinda weird? He never really interacted with the armor or the AI to warrant it I think.
Niner and Sheila :)
No Junior :(
So uh. Tucker got no closure re:Epsilon's death and just kinda. Walks it off after the possession is over? After Wash and Memory!Doc had that talk about the things an AI in your head does to you??
Speaking of Wash:
I know he's always been linked to memory and I actually like how they handled his brain damage in the Shisno Paradox, but I just have a very different image of how he feels about the PFL folks in the aftermath. To me Carolina always seemed more like the type to feel regret over how things went with PFL; she was kind of in a leadership position, had her tragic relationship with York and she felt taking down the Director was her duty.
Wash did arguably have a lot more positive ties to others than she did during the Project, but he was ready to burn it all down while in Recovery duty. I always thought he would have a lot harder time moving past his own trauma of getting left behind to get back to the good memories. Regrets about Doc I can kinda understand since they had time to work together while at Chorus after Wash's villain arc was over, but again, the man carries a grudge like it's a badge of honor. He didn't exactly get closure with his former teammates, aside from collecting the AI from their dead bodies after he'd been left alone following the fall of the MoI and after South shot him in the back. It's interesting how differently Shisno trilogy and S19 handled how Wash and Carolina feel about the whole thing, but I'm glad they stick together regardless. I love their relationship so much.
Wash staying silent when the recovery unit is broken..... Ngl I'm kinda obsessed with how he and Epsilon never got closure
I still don't have interest in checking out Zero....
Woulda been a lot better if they just let Trocadero do the music :( As predicted, the movie OST lacked the personality the series OST was built on and somehow including one track from them felt a bit of an insult. A reminder of what could've been. Also I didn't like the "oohh this part is super loud because movie" bits
Tragically obvious how rushed the production was and how they had a lot less people and resources to work with
If Shisno was a mixed bag of some high highs and a lot of lows, this was relatively steadily ok. Some dips, at least one peak. Not nearly as good as what precedes it but. ok. I can take it as one possibility
Sigh. The funky space marines are finally free. (I'm not, these fuckers seem to continue to fail evacuating my brain)

since my brain isn't letting me write new stuff, y'all wanna read the wip i had that sparked every path? it's kind of condensed brain-soup style but has key points and dialogue i wanted to include. :3 the doc name was just "ring"
---
(much, much later: a return to belobog for a week. Caelus catches up with old friends and old flames.)
koski came across a ring he's been holding onto for… no reason. reminded him of someone. more sentimental than valuable so he hasn't sold it. it's just cheap cubic zirconia, pretty as it is. he could probably have gotten someone to buy it at a high price thinking it's expensive orange topaz but… the thought of someone else having this sits wrong in his stomach. he's definitely not thinking about it lying in a box in his jacket pocket as he lies with Caelus after fucking. he holds his lover instead and pretends he's not leaving again in three days
catches a ride to the next stop with the express crew. swears he'll get off at the next stop, he's just wanting to make it off jarilo vi and into new markets. there's a whole wide world and new economies to learn to hustle after all. it doesn't hurt he can spend an extra day or two with Caelus.
when they disembark on a lively civship they still spend a couple days together before sampo realizes if he doesn't force himself to let go he's going to cling to Caelus forever
he secrets the ring into Caelus' pocket directly before they leave each other-it's a messy snoggy goodbye ofc. Sampo's off to find greener markets. Caelus is off finding side quests and people to help. eventually he digs in his pockets for money for lunch (some little hole in the wall Dan Heng knew about and only takes cash) and finds the ring. it's gunmetal finish with a brilliant yellow topaz. just like his eyes, even in a marquise cut like his diamond pupils. there's no way it was a coincidence. but why did sampo sneak it into his pocket?
it fits his ring finger perfectly. he feels warm and happy anyhow. it was nice to have something to remember him by since their work was taking them so far apart.
friends comment on ring later. c mentions he found it in his pocket earlier. m and dh exchange glances. "so he didn't propose with it, he just snuck it in your pocket? how cowardly."
"propose? propose what?"
"uh getting married? duh."
"well that doesn't sound like him anyway. is that what people do, ask someone to marry them with a ring?"
"yes????”
"March, he has even fewer memories than you."
"ooh, right. sorry"
cae studies the ring in his hand and thinks. "it's probably just a … a thing. something to remember him." later he snaps a picture of it on his hand and sends it.
c: [left me a surprise huh?]
[it's pretty. i like it]
[thanks <3]
he doesn't expect much in the way of a response but he did get a reply
s: [reminded me of you]
there's nothing else after that and Caelus feels a jolt of nervousness, wondering what's up. he tries to prod with humor
c: [careful, koski. you're getting dangerously close to sentimental~] a tilde to ensure the mood got through
it's a few minutes before he gets a reply. when calls reads it, he wonders if sampo has been writing and rewriting the text. it doesn't sound much like him
s: [i think i fell over that cliff a long time ago]
Caelus feels his breath catch in his throat- a heavy warm feeling collecting in his chest. they were never for talking about feelings. at least not honestly. sampo's dramatic declarations were mostly that- dramatics… but, maybe they hadn't been all bluster after all? Sampo's response hadn't been couched in poetic language. Even through text, it sounded like it had been muttered quietly, something he was terrified to admit out loud but unable to keep in any longer.
caelus swallows against the dread of the unknown and calls him instead. counts the rings. sampo picks up on the third ring.
“hey.”
“hi.” caelus wonders at the quiet, single syllable greeting. “you still on the Luofa?”
“mm. thought i’d get a …little drink before turning in for the night. skiff leaves in the morning.”
“is it any good?”
“finest plum wine on the entire Luofa~”
caelus chuckles. “that doesn’t tell me if it’s good.”
there’s a long moment of quiet. “i’ve been a bit… preoccupied. more interesting thoughts to hold my attention.”
“mm.” caelus leaned back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. “feel like sharing?” after a moment of quiet on the other side, he added, “anything to do with the ring you left me?”
“everything to do with it,” sampo whispered.
curled up in bed with the phone pressed to his ear, it felt like sampo was right next to him. caelus waited.
"my plans haven’t changed. you’ve got your work to do and i have mine. our paths are diverging.” sampo stares deeply into the crystal glass of plum wine without seeing it. “and it’s killing me to let go.” the slight break in sampo's voice nearly broke his heart. smooth-talking sampo koski didn't falter or stammer… unless the truth was that painful to tell.
“do we have to?” caelus whispered.
“we should.” that wasn’t a yes. that was the answer of a man who wanted anything but the path he was on.
“where are you?” caelus said suddenly. he pulled himself off the bed and shrugged on his jacket. “gilded frog by the jetty?” He saw the plum wine advertised when he and March and Dan Heng had wandered past that afternoon with snacks in hand.
“don’t,” sampo whispered, lowering his head to his hand. “that’s just going to make this so much harder.”
“you didn’t say we had to, just that we should,” caelus argued, taking off down the hall at a run now, dodging the night maid and skidding around the corner once outside. He waved apologetically at the person he dodged around and kept going. the frog wasn’t too far from their hotel after all and he was the second fastest of their little team. “i don’t want to let go either,” he said breathlessly. “wait for me.”
“cae-”
“please.”
the bartender’s head snapped up as someone burst into the little tavern, panting, phone still pressed to his ear. Sampo turned around, his own phone still at his ear, and locked eyes with Caelus. Caelus grinned and put the phone away, striding across the rest of the place towards the bar.
Sampo sighed, gave him a weary, tipsy smile, and put the phone away. This was only going to hurt a thousand times worse at the end, but seeing Caelus again now, that impending pain seemed light-years away. When they’d met, he would never have thought in a million years that this surly, grouchy-looking little punk harbored a smile like that.
It weakened his heart.
"Cae…" Caelus strode up to him, grabbed his face and pulled him into a deep kiss.
Just like that, whole again. Everything missing had returned. Sampo wound his arms around Caelus' waist and hugged him tightly.

bizly popping off-ish.
**violently coughs** did someone say fallen au (no please-) ((not mine, please look if you somehow havent already, theyre so stupid i love them so much))
WELL HERES MORE!!
not reallyyy proud of this but its been sitting in my google doc for too long
---------------------
Fire blazed in Grizzly’s eyes. His eyes dramatically turned red, and he opened his arms wide along with his wings. Falling, just for Bizly to catch him. Bizly’s left lens was glitched into a “fuck you”, and his thinly pressed lips reflected that. Grizzly was swung up, a small portion of the dance the fallen duo had shared shortly before the fight. Then he was let go, and he grabbed the Excalibur that appeared from midair.
“Grizz-” One of the figures tried under them, on the mismatched platform.
“No. Shut the hell up.” Bizly growled, the hooded figure speaking surprisingly first. “Do not speak to him.”
Charlie flinched as Bizly flew down to face someone who he once loved (and still-?).
Gods, what happened?
“You never gave me a voice, did you? You never heard my fucking thoughts. But now I’ll say them, and you’ll listen.” Bizly took a shaky breath, glasses now a glare. His words came out as a quiet, leveled voice. Charlie shrunk back.
“I fucking hate you. I hate you so, so much. You’re the absolute fucking worst! Those little games you played? Did you think those were funny? And I’m not just talking about us! Yeah, those a hundred players you trapped in a world, who had to work or they’ll fucking die? Those experiments. You- You made me think those things were okay! You made me think manipulation was the norm.”
A tear on the glasses.
Bizly couldn’t see Charlie’s face. Blurry.
“You took away everything from me- from us. My pride, joy, sense of right or wrong, my voice. You used me like a ragdoll. I’m just another prop in your perfect little story, aren’t I? And you know this universe wasn’t written this way. It was going to be my beloved here going, ‘Oh, Charlie, I am so sorry I made a joke you took so seriously you banished me to hell for two hundred years! Let’s play this- this emotional background music as I die for the second third time.’ But that’s not what happened, was it? I was so fucking hurt that I changed fate itself.”
I hate you.
“I hate you, Slimecicle. I wish I never knew you.”
Charlie looked like he was disintegrating, but that was just the tears. The hurt evaporating and blocking Bizly’s view from Charlie’s true emotions. But that didn’t matter. Why should Bizly care about his abuser’s feelings? That was what Charlie was to him now. Someone who took his admiration for them and abused it.
Bizly almost flinched when he felt Grizzly’s hand on his shoulders. He had almost forgotten Grizzly was there, drowning in the riptide of emotions. And Bizly was smoking too, breathing uneven and shuddering. Bizly automatically leaned into the touch.
He thinks he heard a soft, “It’s okay. I’ll take over now.”
Bizly shrinks back to the shadows and when Grizzly’s speech begins, he allows himself to sniffle, then cry, his shuddering breaths covered by Grizzly’s loud anime speech. His tears never hit his chin, and it felt surreal. Maybe this was all a dream.
He joined together to fight with Grizzly when the time came.
Swords clashed, and many regrets passed through all their eyes.
But they didn’t stop.
Axes in the lava. Golden apples eaten.
Crying.
A lot of tears.
Shaking,
Bizy leaned into Grizzly’s shoulders.
They won.
He didn’t feel like they won.
As Charlie’s unconscious body sank under the lava.
As Condi screamed, and for some reason, Grizzly holding Condi back from diving into the magma after their lover.
As he wondered, if he jumped into the lava as well, maybe this nightmare would end.
“Biz... Bizly! NO-!”
---
“Please don’t leave me again.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t ever, fucking try to die again.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I’m- I’m serious, Bizly.”
“...Hey, Condi?”
“...?”
“Why did you save me? I... It was my fault that he-”
“-It wasn’t your fault.”
The words were hollow.
“But it was.”
---
“What if they don’t want to see you?”
“...They probably don’t.”
Condi’s wings shook and dropped down. His tail curled around them even tighter.
“Charlie…”
“...”
“I’m sorry.”
Condi heard the grass rusting loudly before arms wrapped around him. They leaned into it slightly. Charlie’s voice rumbled.
“It’s okay. I’m sorry.”
The dragon tembled in the god’s arms.
“I hate this. Why did you do this...?”
Condi’s grip tightened.
“You didn’t mean it- tell me you didn’t mean it.”
“...I’m sorry, Condi.”
---
“Do you hate them?”
Bizly gently placed his hand over Grizzly’s as they watched the lava, churning and glowing. Grizzly’s reply came what felt like hours after.
“Do you?”
“Depends. On what you think.”
Grizzly softly tugged Bizly’s sweater, and Bizly complied. Grizzly’s wings surrounded Bizly completely and he leaned against his partner’s chest as the big dipper laid his head down on Bizly’s hair. As Grizzly’s arm held him, Bizly couldn’t care for the heat.
“That would depend... on what you think. Hey.”
Bizly latched onto the other’s arms tighter in response.
“You know I love you. So much. I’d die without you. Burned.”
“...”
“You saved me, Bizly. I’m... still so thankful for that.”
“...”
“Please never leave me.”
“...Of course. I love you too.”
Their conversation would turn into a dance. Twirling, dangerously close to the lava, and laughter echoing around the empty space all around them. Dipping down and feeling a rush of excitement and love.
The question was left unanswered.

Family Visit
A few months after the events of Arkham Knight, Jason decides to visit Scarecrow in prison.
Batman: Arkham (Video Games), Teen & Up, No Warnings Apply, Gen, Jason Todd & Jonathan Crane
##Post-Batman: Akrham Knight, Jason Todd is Red Hood, Jonathan Crane is Jason Todd's Father, implied familial relationship, Author has not read the comics, 3rd Person Jason POV, Jason Todd does not like Bruce Wayne##
Arkham was as cold and damp as Jason remembered it. Sometimes he wishes they'd never refurbished the old place, but the villains had to have somewhere to go, right?
He walks until he reaches the end of a derelict hallway, standing in front of a stand alone cell. J. Crane Ph.D. 054. Maximum Security. the rusted plate on the door claims. Jason pulls back a small window, before banging on the tough metal.
"I'm here." He calls, watching the scarred form of the psychologist approach the door.
"Red Hood." Jonathan's raspy voice speaks. "That's what you're calling yourself now, isn't it?"
"You've been keeping up." Jason states with a small laugh. "How are you doing in here?" He knew he shouldn't be getting too cozy, but he couldn't let go of the attachment he'd made with Crane over the year they worked together.
A sigh can be heard from within the cell. "They will not let me continue my research. I have not been able to speak to anyone else, and all my writings are confiscated."
Jason shifts uncomfortably. "I'm sorry, doc." He shouldn't feel bad. But he'd worked with the man for months. He'd seen how much the toxin meant to him, and hell, he'd started to get interested in it too.
Crane just looks amused. "It is alright. They have let me keep the radio you delivered. I am keeping myself entertained. He pauses for a moment, looking through the small window. "Did you know Mr Ryder has styled you as a vigilante?"
Jason almost splutters. "What?!" He shoots forward in shock, as if getting closer will help him understand what Crane said. "I- I told him that was not what it was about! I smoked Sionis for my own sake, not for the good of Gotham! I'm not Bruce."
Jonathan only laughs, amused by Jason's frustration. "He left that out of the interview." He steps back from the door, sitting down on the metal cot in his cell. "I always wondered what you would do when the Batman was dead."
Jason shrugs, recollecting himself. "Yeah. Got some unfinished business to take care of." He leans against the door. "What'd you think I'd do?"
Crane is quiet for a moment, as if considering the sensitivity of his answer. "Once Cobblepot told me who you were, I assumed you would go back to working with your brothers."
Jason frowns. He didn't like that his secrets had been spilt by Penguin, but he couldn't exactly blame Crane for it. Cobblepot had really been the only one properly operating during Jason's run as Robin. Jason was sure everyone else had been too busy to even notice when he was replaced by Tim only half a year after his capture.
"Fuck off." His words have no bite behind them, though. "They're not my brothers. Just kids who worked under the same egotistical guy." He places emphasis on kids. He never wanted anyone to forget what they had been through.
An uneasy silence falls over them, before Crane speaks up. "What was it like?" He asks, "Working as Robin."
"Hell." Jason replies instantly, expression hardening. "Don't ask."
Jonathan tries to speak again. "I wasn't speaking of your torture-"
"Neither was I."
More uncomfortable silence.
"It was…. difficult. Bruce wasn't exactly easy on us. Either we were too useful to fight, or expected to be able to go one-to-one with one of you." Dick always said Bruce had been good to him. Jason didn't get to see that same kindness. Maybe it was because he was just some street criminal, and Dick was some poor relatable orphan. Or maybe he had just purposefully forgotten the good times to further his villainization of Bruce.
"I'm sorry." Crane says. He wasn't apologizing for asking, but out of courtesy.
Jason rolls his eyes under the mask. "Yeah. But what does it matter now? Bruce is dead, and I'm free to do whatever I want to." He wants to change the subject desperately.
"So, when are you getting out?"
Crane looks up, eyebrow raised.
"C'mon, I won't tell the guards- or Robin." He mentions the latter man with disgust. "It's just between us." Perhaps he shouldn't be encouraging this, but he missed talking to Crane outside of prison bars.
Jonathan shakes his head, as if he was a father who'd just heard his son say something ludicrous. "I have not decided yet. I was hoping to speak to Edward or Harvey, they have a plan. But as I mentioned, that is not a viable option anymore."
Jason hums in thought. "Want me to shoot them a message?" He hated Riddler and Two-Face as much as the next guy, but he owed Jonathan a favour. Several favours, probably. Crane had helped him when he was at his lowest during the militia operation, irritable and depressed. Being the man Bruce could never be for him.
He considers it. "It couldn't hurt." Crane responds. "Are you leaving so soon?"
Jason feels guilty as he answers, looking away, almost regretful. "Yeah. Heard some of Black Masks men are regrouping, trying to get the gang back together. Shutting them down."
Crane nods, as if he's come to terms with Jason's early leave. Jason watches the door for a moment, before sighing and stepping back.
"Wait-!" Cranes voice is loud, and a hand shoots out, grasping the edge of the small letterbox window in the door. "Red Hood."
Jason can feel Cranes glossy, blinded eyes staring at him. He approaches the cell again, and in a moment of weakness, removes a thick glove, taking Jonathan's thin hand.
"Do me the honour of knowing your name." This wasn't the first time Crane had asked. This wasn't the first time it'd sounded slightly like a plea. Maybe it should be the last, though. There was a connection between him and Jonathan, even if it was unspoken.
"…" Jason looks at the hand held in his, frail fingers wrapped tightly around his strong grip. "Jason." His voice is quiet, making sure only Crane could hear it.
"Jason…" Jonathan repeats, lifting his hand to the hard shell of Jason's cowl. Jason can't stand not being able to feel the comfort Crane is trying to give. He pushes a button by his jaw, and the visor opens up. Cranes hand is immediately moving to his unscarred cheek, thumb brushing over it almost tenderly. "Jason."
Jason looks down to Cranes arm, seeing the mauled and twisted flesh contorting around the mans arm, a reminder of what happened to him only 2 years back. The scars were still healing. He reaches up to the mans wrist, holding it gently.
"You will return again next month?" Crane asks, and Jason would mistake that emotion for hope if he thought the man could feel anything but muted rage and scientific curiosity.
"If you're not out by then" He jokes lightly, almost sad as Cranes hand leaves his cheek.
"Good." Cranes voice is soft. "You are always welcome."
Jason shuts the visor of his helmet to hide his smile.
"Goodbye, Jason."
"Yeah. Goodbye."

session #1
The car ride is bumpy. Always is. Jostles her in the backseat, has her mouth setting into a sharply annoyed coral-pink line. The driver, a young man that she doesn’t recognize, keeps aiming dragging glances up and down through the rear-view mirror.
Jack doesn’t uncross her legs or fix her skirt or blush or shift nervously. She simply keeps her palms flatly rested on either knee and tries as best she can to maintain balance as the vehicle bounces along.
Her composure keeps steady until the driver winks at her. Her mouth pops open, but —
“Eyes forward, Private Hart.”
The other occupant of their vehicle is a massive soldier. With a quick snap of her eyes over him, Jack squares away the information that his straight-backed posture and carefully tucked knes provides to her. Judging from the immediate acquiesence of the driver, the darkly authoritative energy radiating from his superior, there’s history there. Or fear. Either earns respect. ck’s eyes flit to them. That mask always in place, and yet she could pick them out by the voice alone. Haven’t spoken much, over the years they’ve known each other, but still. She knows it.
“I am perfectly capable of handling myself,” Jack informs the soldier. She can’t see his face —a black balaclava assures his anonymity — but there’s a flash of something close to annoyance in the depths of his green eyes.
“I getcha, Doc,” the lieutenant responds in a clipped tone. An accent slips through there, just a fraction recognizable — Jack places it east coast, maybe Baltimore, Boston. She’s always been a bit helpless with those vowels. “To be honest, it’s more for my benefit. Fuckin’ asshole, this one.”
A long leg kicks out, knee making rough contact with the back of the driver’s seat. He grunts and tightens his grip on the wheel, as if the clutch is keeping a lid on both control of the vehicle and his own temper.
Jack observes the crackle of tension. The private has slouched, whereas his superior has adopted an angry, savage slant to broad shoulders. Forward leaning, chin tilted, fight-ready. The history is violent between them, then; she wonders what caused it.
Wonders if she can poke at that tension a bit more.
“How unprofessional,” she sniffs, adopting the performative air of judgment that works so well on order-hungry soldiers such as these two. As expected, they both sober slightly. “What would your commander think about this behavior?”
There’s a pause. The car goes over a rather significant bump in the unmarked road. The driver inhales. And the soldier sat beside her snaps his knees tight together. His shoulders curve, his chin tucks towards his chest submissively; he seems to be attempting to take up as little room as possible, which is quite the feat considering the sheer size of him.
Jack can’t smell fear, but she doesn’t need to. She’s good at reading people. The tension in the car no longer ferments as provoking violence, the inevitable swing of hands. It is that quick slip of both these fierce, lethal mercenaries from menacing to chastised and alarmed that tells her all she needs to know about the fist which winds their leashes tight around cruel, bloodied knuckles.
Jack interrupts the slimy fog of fear with a genuine, tinkling laugh.
“Oh, I’m just joking.” The scenery bounces by, and the smile falls from her face just as quickly as it came. “I don’t fucking care about him.”
--
The little office has gotten more and more sad, even as she’s tried to personalize it. A fake potted plant in the corner, an old rug tossed on the floor, some silly, senseless motivational posters tacked on the wall. She thinks those are funny. Keeps them up so the soldiers who sit across during evals have to look at them.
Hang in there, one poster says. Hang in there!
“Private Tanaka, did you complete the paperwork you were sent prior to our meeting?”
Lark reaches into his jacket pocket and hands them over. Feels a little like he’s a rabbit sidling closer to a carrot in an obvious cage as the space between them minimizes.
“Wonderful,” she says. “Hm. Your family history, entry evaluations, criminal record. PHQ-2 depression screening, and a AUDIT-C drug and alcohol screening.” Dr. Rhoades is thumbing through them as she reads off their titles, glances briefly over Lark’s tiny bubbled answers. “Ah.”
It’s the only time her tone has deviated from neutral, mid-level. Not sharp, not disappointed. Deviates ever so slightly.
He folds his fingers together, back of his knuckles to the opposite palm.
“And this. Your suicide and violence risk assessment,” Dr. Rhoades pulls a piece of paper from the stack. Reads over it, shrewd eyes hawk-like as they glance down the page. He nearly flinches when they snap sharply back up.
“Individual poses a current risk of harm to self. Provider recommendations for emergency or routine specialty mental health evaluation indicated as follows.” The tiny blonde reads off, matter-of-fact. “Do you know what that means, Private Tanaka?”
Lark watches as she lifts a pen from the table next to her chair. Its click feels incredibly loud in the quiet office.
“It means if I check this box, you’ll be taken away.” She peers at him from over her red-rimmed cat eye glasses. “Do you know where they’ll take you?”
He’s got some idea, and it makes him gulp. Has him shaking his head real slow, as if one move too quick will have his throat spilled on the beige carpet. She doesn’t even have a weapon.
“They’ll take you somewhere worse than this.” The pen meets paper, scribbles something on the margins, near where he’s written his name. Crisp, clean letters.
“I haven’t —“ he starts, and when those pale eyes land on him again the words die in his throat. “Ma’am. Dr. Rhoades. I filled it out. I’m not suicidal.”
She straights her shoulders, squares up a little bit. Slow, like some great predator stretching before a pounce. It doesn’t make her look any larger, but Lark finds himself shrinking back a bit, anyway.
“Aren’t you?”
“I answered it." He bites back more. "I filled it out. I’m not depressed, I’m not suicidal, I’m not —“
“A danger to yourself or others?”
Lark blinks, mouth parted.
“Well?” She prompts, and now her voice is a little sharp. “I asked a question.”
He’s not sure how to answer it. Less sure what answer would pacify her. Really unsure that any answer would.
“You don’t feel like hurting people?” She asks, and then they become rapid-fire. “Do you feel aimless? Exhausted? Do you have violent fantasies? Do you have nightmares? Do you have insomnia? How often do you consider the following, on a scale of one to five. One being the least, five being the most. I would hurt myself if it solved my problems. I have thoughts of suicide. I wish I were dead. Others would be happier if I were gone. I am a failure. I have regrets.”
Lark’s heart begins to pound. He’d answered some of those, but the rest aren’t on the list. And he’d answered the ones that were negatively. Because he’s not suicidal. He’s not any of those things.
Except.
Except the noise of the pen scribbling on the paper makes his breath catch. Dr. Rhoades is going down the paper. Scratching each of his answers, sh-sh-sh circles, and dutifully marking five’s all the way down.
He can’t speak. All he’s got to ground him, as the anxiety comes flooding in, is tick of the clock. The noise of that pen. The tap of a gently-heeled shoe on the tiled floor.
“Oh, Private Tanaka.” Dr. Rhoades says when she’s done, holding up the sheet for him to see. “Alarming answers such as these call for further evaluation, don't you think?”
“No,” he croaks, almost a plea, and something sick and angry bubbles up in his chest. He goes to move —
That heeled shoe lands on his knee. Edge of it pressed into the soft, fleshy spot on the side of his leg. It stings, and it freezes him in place.
“We should be friends.” Dr. Rhoades says.
She smiles then. Looks beautiful and kind, glossy near-white hair lit like it glows under the fluorescent lights. But Lark knows better, now. She’s not kind. At least not to him.
“I treat my friends nicely, Private Tanaka.” Her head tilts, eyes locked to his.
“Do you?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
The smile pulls wider.
”I treat my children better.” His knee slackens as the heel leaves it. “I’m very protective of my children. Wouldn’t you say that’s important, in a parent? Loving and protecting your children?”
Lark swallows down that anger, that bitterness. His knuckles are white where he grips them.
“Yes, ma’am.”
There is a long, long pause. He’s proud of himself for holding her gaze.
“Wonderful.” Dr. Rhoades says, and clicks the pen again. The sharp little tip disappears inwards and she sets it aside. Makes a show of shuffling the papers in her finely manicured, slightly wrinkled hands, the stack balanced on her crossed knee.
She tucks them back into a beige folder, and for a moment his chest aches. That’s his folder, his picture paper-clipped to the front, and she’s going to — he’s about to have his life ruined again, and there’s nothing he can do about it again, he's gotta sit there and watch it all happen again—
Lark’s breathing kicks up hard.
“Well, thank you so much for your time. You’re very agreeable, Private Tanaka.” Dr. Rhoades stands, towers over him where he sits on the uncomfortable couch. “I’ll be sure to note that on your file when I clear you.”
As she leaves, she tosses the stacked file into the bin by the door.
He stares at them for a very, very long time. Stares until his eyes go dry. Stares even longer, until the drought ends, and they water with terrified tears.

You Did This To Us - Bakugou Katsuki
Bakugou x f!reader
Warnings: ANGST, cursing, gore, implied sexual activity, infidelity, alcohol abuse, marijuana use, I’m just here to rip y’all hearts out, MDNI
Summary: It was a horrible battle against raging villains and he watched you, his loving wife of 6 years, get pierced right in front of him. It was traumatizing. Your days in the hospital sent him into depression, causing him to make the worst decisions of his life. Decisions he’s regretted the second he’s made them and decisions he’ll forever regret because of what it cost him.
BAKUGOU’S MASTERLIST
He warned you not to come. No that’s not the right word. He begged you to sit your ass down at home where you would be safe. But of course, you were never that kind of hero. You could never sit on the sidelines and watch others fight a battle you knew you could at least try to help in. So with a heavy heart, he reluctantly allowed you to come. His first regret.
Because as the battle died down and victory was in sight, his world was thrown into chaos once more. The villains were down. The wind was settling. The dust was clearing. Katsuki could see you struggling to stand due to exhaustion but saw your smile nonetheless. He gave a breath of relief as he still saw you and jogged over to you. As he did, you noticed him coming your way and your smile only grew. Until it suddenly dropped, along with his own. Out of nowhere, a sharp, metal staff flew threw the air and pierced you right in the stomach. The sight was nauseating as Katsuki covered his mouth, truly shocked. He watched you in horror as you trembled before falling to the ground.
Katsuki looked behind him to find the attacker and saw some stupid, weak ass, good for nothing villain use the last of his power just to cause you harm. Then the world began to shake. No, that wasn’t it. Katsuki was violently trembling as he looked towards the bastard on the ground. Despite him being knocked out cold, that didn’t stop Dynamight from rushing over to him, grabbing him by the neck and blasting him. No one was around. No one would see. His job was safe. He could do this and have no repercussions whatsoever, so why not?
After the petty villain’s death, Katsuk used every ounce of strength in him to run to your body that had blood trickling down the side of your lips. “Y/N!”
You turned your head the best you could to find your husband sobbing his eyes out as he picked you up into his lap. He cradled your head and gently tapped your face, trying to keep you conscious. “Hey! Hey, you’re gonna be okay, alright?! You’re gonna be okay baby I promise.”
“Suki..I’m tired.” You whispered out in a weak voice. Hearing your words stabbed him through the chest.
“I-..I know baby. I know you’re tired. But- but you can’t go to sleep okay? Don’t go to sleep. You have to stay awake- stay alive! Okay?” He pleaded with you. He called out for a medic once he saw the flashing red and blue lights near the scene and held onto your body. He looked to you and saw your eyes becoming null and dense before firing back up again. You were falling in and out of consciousness. You were a fighter and you were trying to stay alive. It made him choke out a sad laugh. “You’re gonna make it, Teddy Bear, I swear.”
“….if I don’t make it-“
“You will, you idiot, don’t say shit like that!”
“But if I don’t…just- Ah-….just know I love you, Suki.”
Katsuki kissed your forehead before hugging you close. “I know, Y/N. I love you too. More than anyone, and more than you’ll ever fucking know.”
He noticed a small smile reach your lips before the medics came. Katsuki was quick to stand with you in his arms, careful and aware of the metal still pierced within you. He handed you off to the professionals who handled you with extra care. They brought you into the ambulance with Katsuki trying to follow in before being stopped.
“The fuck-“
“Dynamight, we can’t allow you to go in.” One said.
“And why the fuck not?! That’s my wife in there!” Katsuki shouted as he pointed to you.
“I understand, but her condition is severe. We can’t have anyone taking up space as we take care of her on her way to the hospital.” He explained.
“Taking up space?! Do you even know who you’re-“
“Sir, please. Let me do my job, let me save your wife’s life.” With that, Katsuki finally nodded in silence as he allowed the medic’s words to echo in his head. “Can you meet us at the hospital?”
Once again, a silent nod. With that, the medic was off and back to your seemingly lifeless body. Katsuki watched as he lead the team and perfectly directed them. He was sure that until you got to the hospital, you were in good hands. That was one guy he could surprisingly trust. He didn’t know him very well or at all for that matter, but he has Dynamight’s trust. Now Katsuki just had to head home and clean himself up before finding you again. Screw getting checked up. He knew his body. He knew he was damn well fucking fine.
—
As Katsuki opened the door to his house in a rush, he was quick to take a shower just to wash off the dirt and blood. He quickly hopped out and changed into some clothes before looking for his car keys. He found them at his nightstand along with the framed pictures of you and him. One on your wedding night and one celebrating your 3rd anniversary as a married couple. As Katsuki quickly looked through he pictures he smiled with a tear falling down his cheek. He looked around the room and took in all the pictures of you both that decorated your walls and tables.
You both were together since junior high. You were together for 10 years and despite being at the young ages of 23 and 22, he still decided to pop the big questions and propose. You said yes. It was one of the happiest days of his life, next to getting you to be his girlfriend, and meeting you in general. Forget the hero work, he’d trade it all if it meant he got to stay with you. You were always involved when it came to his happiest points in life. And now you were fighting for your life at the hospital. So with that, Bakugou wiped his tears and ran to his car, urgently trying to meet you at the building.
As he pulled up and parked, he pushed passed all the paparazzi and fans that surrounded the entrance due to news of you being there. You can assume how bad it got when everyone took notice of another pro-hero, and that pro being Dynamight no less, showing up. Despite all that, Bakugou forced his way in and made it to the front desk, demanding to know where you were. The poor lady at the desk had to deal with this explosive bomb, only to anger him even more by asking for his ID.
“Are you a fucking idiot?! Look at me! I’m Bakugou fucking Katsuki?! The number one pro fucking hero?!” He screamed at the poor girl.
“I’m- I’m sorry sir! It’s just protocol. H/N is a pro-hero, this is just what has to be done.” She shakily let out. Bakugou grunted before slamming his ID and Hero license onto the table. The lady nodded before handing him a piece of paper that had directions to your room.
Bakugou snatched it and gave her a scowl before running to look for you. Finally making it to one of the highest floors and down the longest hallways, he finally reached your door with 2 doctors already standing out in front of it. Bakugou tried to get through but they stopped him from entering.
“What?! What fucking now?!” He shouted as he stepped back to keep their hands off of him.
“Sir, they’re taking care of your wife just fine, but you have to wait here.” One of the docs demanded. With that, an argument bursted out between the pro and the doctors. The booming voices shook the building until a familiar voice was heard from behind the blonde.
“Dynamight, your wife’s in good care. I made sure my own wife was to be her head doctor.” Bakugou turned around to find the medic that stopped him from going into your ambulance there.
“It’s you.” He spoke aloud. The medic smiled before bowing.
“Daisuke Ena,” the medic said before standing back up straight. “Please trust me when I say your wife will be fine.”
“…and why should I?” Bakugou said after thinking for a minute.
“My wife is the one taking care of her. She is one of the best, if not the best, doctor in the prefecture. That’s not a biased opinion by the way, you can look her up. Daisuke Ami. I ensured it was her who was to see to your wife.” Daisuke said with a calm smile. After looking towards your hospital room, Katsuki turned back to the medic and nodded silently like he did before. But this time, he added a small ‘thank you.’
—
6 hours. Katsuki sat in one of the seats in front of your hospital room for 6 fucking hours only for them to tell him they cannot allow you visitors. You were in an unstable condition and so they sent Katsuki home. The news was heart wrenching. You always ran through Katsuki’s mind 24/7. He couldn’t stop it. But now, these thoughts were no longer happy and innocent, consisting of ‘damn, I miss her,’ and ‘I wonder what my girl’s doing right now.’ Instead they consisted of ‘Is she gonna be okay,’ and ‘she’s gonna come home, right?’ but most of all ‘I can’t lose her.’
Luckily for Katsuki, he became familiar with medical staff, Daisuke Ena, and was lucky enough to get his number. Daisuke gave him updates on Y/N. Usually, they weren’t so great but the hero appreciated the messages. The text didn’t help in uplifting Katsuki’s spirits though. If anything, they made them worse. In the beginning, Katsuki had hope that you would turn out okay.
But then a week passed.
And then another.
And then two more and before he knew it, you had already been in there for a month. This was the longest month of Katsuki’s life. It sucks to say but in the 13 years that you both have been together, he’s hasn’t done much alone outside of hero work. And even then, he would be lucky enough to work with you. It was always you and him together. Dates? Duh. Grocery shopping? Always you and him. Going for a walk? Why not? He loves spending as much time as he could with you. He loves you. But he hadn’t realize how dependent he became on your presence. In a way, you being gone drove him mad. He knew where you were. You were in the hospital. He could drive her there and see you right now!
No he can’t.
Because he would go and you would be stuck in bed, unconscious and hooked to machines, in a room, behind a door that Katsuki can’t get by. Seeing you isn’t the same as holding you. Speaking to you isn’t the same as conversing with you. There’s no reciprocation from your end. Being around your near lifeless body could only do so much. And so after two more weeks without you went by, Katsuki fell into a depression.
And that sucks because a few days after Katsuki’s depression began, it was okay for him to see you. But you hadn’t woken up yet. He didn’t think he would be able to be near you and your practically dead body. The fact that you were alive didn’t stick to him. He can’t see your beautiful E/C eyes, he can’t hear your honey-like voice..there’s no way you’re alive. The back of his mind still had hope. He knew you were stable. He knew you were gonna be okay..hopefully..but, you weren’t waking up. You were basically dead. Dead, dead, dead. And the more he thought about it, the more realistic the idea came to be.
So he didn’t visit you anymore..something else he’ll come to regret, and because he didn’t visit, he grew mad. Throwing away his life and succumbing to the tempting taste of alcohol. Any he could get. From the cheapest beers in cans to the finest liquors sold from top shelf. In the beginning, it was..controlled, but then he showed up to hero work completely wasted. Kirishima saved his job and forced Katsuki to take a break until he becomes stable again. This only gave Katsuki free time to do whatever the hell he wanted. And what did he want to do? He wanted to become lost.
Lost in alcohol, lost in weed, lost in everything. Lost because he doesn’t have you. Everyday he would spend it drinking and smoking, constantly being cross faded and surprising all his friends when he remained alive after all the substance abuse. Wake up, drink, get ready, drink, sit in the living room, smoke, cry over you, smoke and drink, eat and drink, go to sleep after a smoke sesh, cry over you once more. Eventually, Katsuki had cried so much, the only thing keeping him together was the fact that he had all these pictures of the two of you. Pictures of your smiles, you giving him a kiss, your dates, your accomplishments..he has all these pictures..but none of them would ever be as good as the real you.
Seeing his friend going down this road, Kirishima couldn’t help but try to do everything he could to fix his friend. No matter how many times Katsuki pushed him away, the red head kept going back. And none of his attempts to help his friend worked. Until…
—
“What now, Shitty Hair?” Bakugou groaned as he opened his door and squinted at the bright day light. He doesn’t remember that last time he’s seen the sun.
“I know you’ve been in a slump-“
“Slump? That’s what you call this? I lost the love of my life, Kirishima. This isn’t a fucking slump.” Bakugou said a little louder this time.
“She’s not gone, Bakugou.” Kirishima said trying to reassure his friend.
“But she’s not here either,” the blonde said as he chewed on his lip. “…look, whatever it is you want from me, I can’t give you. Not until Y/N is back at home, here, with me, safe and alive.”
“I know you feel that way man, but you can’t keep living like this. It’s not good for you. You at least need to get out of your house.” Kirishima said with his hand on the door as Bakugou tried to shut it. The blonde narrowed his eyes at his best friend before Kirishima spoke up again. “We can go wherever you wanna go and do whatever you wanna do, you just gotta get out of this house. Please.”
As Katsuki thought about it, he took a deep sigh before speaking. “Tonight at Hiro’s?”
“Dude, you wanna go to a bar-“
“It’s a club. Better than a bar, better drinks.” Bakugou corrected.
“Are you sure you don’t wanna hit the gym or maybe go to an actual restaurant or something?” Kirishima said, trying to steer his friend clear of alcohol.
“If you want me out of my house, then we go where I wanna go. No exceptions.” Bakugou said with a stern voice. Kirishima thought about it and sighed before giving in.
“Fine. But first, you gotta clean yourself up.” The red head said. The blonde nodded before going to shut his door, only to be interrupted by his friend once again. “With a little help from your best buds.”
As Kiri pushed the door open even more, Kaminari and Sero showed their faces that held kind smiles that only made Katsuki seethe. “No fucking way. This isn’t some girl’s trip and we aren’t doing makeovers.”
“Nobody said anything about a makeover, we’re just gonna help clean ya’ up Kacchan!” Denki smiled.
“I’m a grown man, I don’t need help cleaning up.” Bakugou said with a growl.
“Tell that to your stubble, messy hair, eye bags, and stench.” Sero began. “Seriously man, you smell like liquor and weed. You’re lucky you got that caramel thing going on to save you…barely.”
Before he knew it, his friends had pushed him into his house and quickly directed him to the bathroom. They did a full treatment. Forced him into the shower and made him soak in a tub of scented soaps and bath additions as they cleaned his house. Once they were done they had picked out a clean outfit for him before working on his face. They shaved his stubble, cleaned up his cut, put some eye cream on his bags, gave him some breath spray and changed out a few of his piercings. The full treatment. And when they showed Bakugou the new old him, he couldn’t deny he felt a little better. At least, before they stepped into his room again and he saw a few pictures of you. That’s when the slump in his shoulder returned.
Seeing this, his friends were quick to take him out of the house and head to Hiro’s. Walking in, they sat at the bar, ordered some food and a few drinks, and did whatever they could to keep Bakugou’s mind off of you. And for most of the night, it worked! Bakugou was laughing again, smiling, being his old self. But that’s when Denki decided to risk it.
“We doing shots or what?” The electric blonde asked. Kirishima gave him a look as he spoke.
“Uh, let’s go light on the liquor tonight. We don’t need shots to have a good time, right?” Kirishima said. Bakugou looked at him and chuckled.
“It’s nice of you to look out for me, Shitty hair, but I got this. Trust me.” Bakugou said with a small smile.
“I don’t know, man.” Kirishima said with a pout.
“Don’t be a pussy, Kirishima.” Kaminari smirked. That’s when all of Kiri’s friends, even Bakugou, began to egg him on. Of course, he gave in. Why not? What’s the worst that could happen? Bakugou gets drunk? He’s already been drunk before, nothing too crazy could happen, right?
Wrong. Shots were being downed and the 4 friends were losing themselves. The music was blasting, the lights were blinding, and the friends were…everywhere! Kirishima was probably puking his guts out in the bathroom, Sero and Kaminari were drunk on the dance floor, leaving Bakugou drunk at the bar by himself. Bad idea. The poor blonde was looking at his phone going through pictures of you and him together. He already missed you like crazy when he was sober, now that he’s drunk, that missing has hit full throttle. And then he caught the eye of a snake.
She walked up to the pro-hero with full confidence as she took a seat next to him. “Dynamight.”
Bakugou looked up from his phone with a scowl and blush from the alcohol. “Do I fucking know you?”
“No but-“
“Then get lost.” He said and downed another sip of his whiskey. The woman smirked at his crude behavior.
“Feisty. I like that about you, you know. Always playing hard to get.” She said with a seductive tone.
“I’m not playing hard to get, I’m playing impossible to get because I’m married,” he said and showed his wedding ring. “Happily.”
“You don’t seem too happy right now mister hero. My name’s Leiko..and if you want..I could help take away your troubles.” She offered with a smile as she leaned forward, making sure to expose a little more cleavage than necessary.
“My wife is better than just some quick fuck, so no thanks.” Bakugou said, still not taking his eyes off her, trying to scare her away with a glare that unfortunately she only smirked at.
“Who said I was trying to fuck? Why don’t you talk to me? Vent. Rant. It won’t get your mind off of your wife but it will help clear your head.” She said.
“And why the hell do you think I’m having issues with my wife?!” He asked with a tense voice.
“I walked over here and you were staring down at pictures of her on your phone. Miss H/N is beautiful. You’re a very lucky man.” Leiko said, playing the role of a snake perfectly.
“…I am..” Bakugou agreed before swallowing a gulp. “I’m Uh…I’m not having issues with her or anything. And we’re not fighting either. She’s just..been in the hospital recovering from a battle..I just miss her…”
He didn’t know whether it was the alcohol or if Leiko was just that good at pretending to be nice or both, but for whatever reason she made it easy to clear his mind. She listened well, never putting any input in. She let him speak freely and only spoke up when he looked at her in expectance to. In the moment..she was being a good friend. She allowed him to vent all he wanted about you, about how much he missed you and loves you. And by the end of the night, Katsuki could feel his chest feel a little lighter.
They didn’t sleep together but Leiko left an impression on his drunk self for sure. Maybe even him as a person. He’d remember her as ‘that one nice lady from the club.’ But that was until a few days later when she reached out to him on social media. Leiko was a perfect snake. Knowing exactly what she wanted and exactly how to get it. They spoke for some time online, casual conversations. Most times, it was Leiko asking about you and if you were okay. This went on for some time until their conversations changed. Leiko casually threw in a little flirt every now and then, Katsuki saw and held no reply for it, but didn’t stop her from doing so. Leiko seemed like a good friend. A good way to air out his emotions and issues. So despite her pushy and flirtatious nature, he kept her around. Solely as a friend.
Soon enough, Leiko offered to meet in person once more. At the same club they first met in. ‘Why not?’ Katsuki thought. He had nothing else to do. And so he went. Then he went again. And again. And again. The two became ‘friends’ and Katsuki even brought her back into your shared home where they shared even more drinks. Eventually, the use of marijuana came into play and now the two were cross faded. At least one of them was. Leiko was smart and sneaky. She took less drinks, didn’t inhale the smoke, and basically remained sober. She was in complete control, unlike the blonde hero who sat on the couch beside her. He was now upset and hurt as he thought about you.
“I-..I just miss her so damn much..it fucking hurts at this point.” He said with a whimper in his voice. Being so vulnerable, Leiko took her chance and slid in.
“Well..there’s always one way to take your mind off of harsh things like this.” She softly said with a hand in his lap. She leaned in and Bakugou made no move to stop her and allowed her to continue. She pressed his lips against his and despite it not being reciprocated the first time, she still pushed with it. Katsuki didn’t enjoy it all that much or at all. It was different, it was new, it wasn’t you. It didn’t feel like home. Her lips weren’t soft, they weren’t as plump, they didn’t have the same sweet and addicting taste you did but in a way..Katsuki felt it was what he needed. Her kiss wasn’t like yours. In fact, it was the complete opposite and he hated it. But it didn’t resemble you. When Leiko kissed him, it didn’t remind him of you, and that’s what he thought he needed. So despite not liking the kiss, when she pulled away, he pulled her back. Eventually the kiss grew more intense until it was brought to the bedroom where their night continued in a more sinful manner.
That morning, Katsuki made Leiko leave, angered at what she tricked him into and ashamed of his betrayal. How could he do that to you?! His love of over a decade! When Leiko was gone, Katsuki allowed himself to break down his walls and cry. He cried so hard that morning, more than he’s ever cried before. That morning made him realize his third regret.
Leiko and Katsuki never spoke again..until some days later when Katsuki allowed himself to become extremely drunk once more. He fell into his obsessive thoughts of you and felt the pain come again. Wanting to erase the hurt, he reached out to Leiko and asked her to come over and distract him again. He needed to feel something that wasn’t you. And so Leiko happily went over that night. And a few more nights because Katsuki felt the pain again for a few more nights. As Leiko kept going, she noticed the house loss more and more touches of you. Katsuki flipped his pictures of you in his bedroom so that they wouldn’t see his nights of betrayal and he moved his clothes out of your shared closet so he wouldn’t be reminded and hit with your addicting scent that lingered on your clothes. Leiko smiled, feeling like a victor as Katsuki slept beside her in your bed on your side. The two would have quite a surprise in the morning.
—
Katsuki was awake and was still feeling the shame. He didn’t like sleeping around with Leiko but he liked the way it distracted him from his painful thoughts of you. Every morning after a night spent with her was the same. The two would wake up, she would put on one of his shirts despite his protests and get ready in his bathroom as he sat in the living room downstairs. But this morning had a little surprise twist.
As Katsuki sat in the living room with his head down, the doorbell rung. Growling in annoyance at one of his friends’ presence, he reluctantly went to open the door with a sour mood. “WHAT?!”
“Umm, excuse me. Who the fuck do you think you are talking to your wife like that?” You asked with attitude. As Katsuki adjusted his eyes to the light and his ears caught the sound of his favorite song, his eyes widened and his smile rose.
“Y-Y/N?” He asked in complete shock. He saw you alive, healthy, smiling, looking naturally beautiful right in front of him.
“Missed me, Suki?” You asked with a giggle. Bakugou pushed the door open to pull you in for the tightest hug as he lifted you off the ground.
“YOU’RE BACK!” He cried out. He held you tight and shut the door with his foot as he dropped onto the couch with you on top of him. He held you close to him as he cried into your neck. “You’re really back! Fuck- I missed you so much Y/N! I fucking love you- I’ve been a mess without you..shit!”
His tears were everlasting as they fell from his ruby eyes that you missed so much. You smiled as you wiped them away with your thumbs and the soft touch he’s craved and missed so much. You pecked his nose to calm him down as you allowed your hands to get lost in his blonde hair. “Hey, hey, it’s okay. I’m here, Suki. I’m back.”
Katsuki still held tears in his eyes and was shaking in happiness as you remained oh so close, giving him the warmth he needed after so many months. “Tell me you love me, Y/N.”
“I love you Bakugou Katsuki.” You happily said. Your husband teared up once more, so happy he was able to hear those words from you again, before pulling you in for a passionate kiss. A kiss that brought him back to life. He took in your scent and the way you tasted illegally sweet. He let his hands roam your body in a loving way until they found way into your soft H/C locks, trying to bring your head closer to his despite your lips already being in contact. You pulled away with him chasing after your lips, needing to push him back a little to allow yourself to breath. “Relax Suki.”
He scoffed at that. “Relax? I just got you back, you’re not calling the shots today princess, that’s all me.”
You both have a little laugh as you tucked in to cuddle for a small time. He missed this. This is what he needed. This is what he’s been dying for. To have you back in his arms, alive, healthy, and present. He needed this for so long and now that he has it, he feels whole again. After spending some cuddle minutes on the couch, you rose up in need for a glass of water. As you tried to walk away, Katsuki tugged on your arm to try and bring you back to him, only to have you calm him down. “Im just getting some water, Suki.”
He reluctantly let you go, allowing himself to smile like an idiot, glad to be around you again. As you searched for a glass in the cabin, that’s when Bakugou detected the sound of someone turning the shower off. And that’s when his eyes popped. His betrayal to you. The multiple times he betrayed your love and literal proof of it standing in his shared home with you. That’s when he began to silently panic. You were gonna find out. You were gonna find out he had been acting like a sleeze behind your back and you were gonna be pissed. Heartbroken. Downright furious and you had every right to be, but Katsuki wouldn’t allow it. He knew once you found out, you would leave again. But you can’t leave! He just got you back! You’re not allowed to leave when you finally came back to him. He’s finally happy again because you’re back! You can’t leave now!
“Hey, Baby, don’t you wanna see your friends?” Katsuki asked as he walked over to you. You had finished your glass and placed it down on the island when your husband came over asking an absurd question.
“Suki, they were all there when I left the hospital. They were the ones who bought me these new clothes. Aren’t they cute?” You asked with the smile he loved oh so much.
“Uh- yeah, yeah they look amazing on you Teddy Bear. Umm..if they were all with you, why didn’t they tell me you were coming back home?” He asked as you wrapped your arms around his neck and his went right to home on your waist.
“I wanted to surprise you!” You giggled. “How’d I do?”
“Really fucking good, you little dumbass. But why don’t we get some fresh air? Yeah?” He said as he tried pulling you to the door.
“What why? I was just out there.” You said as you stopped in your tracks. “Besides, I heard you didn’t visit me much in the hospital ya’ big meanie. I wanna spend as much time with you as I can.”
“I was gone because I couldn’t stand to see you like that, baby.” He said with a whimper.
“Yeah I figured. Which is why I’m not too mad, but you still gotta make it up to me with cuddles, so let’s go!” You said and tried pulling him in the direction of your bedroom but he planted his feet into the ground.
“We can still spend time together outside the house, Teddy Bear,” Katsuki said enthusiastically, trying to keep you away from the room that for sure reeked of sex and held scattered clothes of his own and another woman’s.
“But I want to spend time at home with you,” you pouted. Bakugou felt his heart melt at the cute face you pulled and brought you closer to him.
“I know, I wanna spend time with you too but I’ve been in the house for so long, I think I need to get out of here.” The blonde said while being aware and on the lookout for Leiko.
“Well I’ve been out of the house for so long and I know I need to be in it. Besides, as your previously injured wife, what I say goes.” You said with sass and a smile. Katsuki laughed, loving your little attitude but still worried of what you may find out.
“Baby please, can we just go?” He begged as he held your soft hands in his.
“Why are you so adamant on leaving, Suki?” You asked
“That’s because he doesn’t want you to find out about me.”
Your body jumped at the sound of a new voice and you looked at Katsuki’s face, noticing it scrunching in fear, before you turned around to find another woman wearing nothing but Katsuki’s shirt. The same shirt you’ve worn a thousand times over. You could feel your heart clenching in pain but you stood your ground no less.
“Who are you?” You asked as you dropped your hands from your husband’s. You heard his little whine at the loss of your touch as he reached out to hold into your arm but you gently pushed him off.
“Y/N-“
“Oh come on, H/N. Don’t be in denial. I bet you already have an exact idea on who I am.” Leiko said with a smirk as she looked at you. You turned to your husband with raised brows and a face of anger as you glared at him. You looked back at her and bit your lip before smiling.
“Were you in it for the long haul?” You asked Leiko, wondering if she really wanted Katsuki or if she was just getting pleasure out of this.
“Definitely not. I just came for a quick fuck every now and then. Wanted to get a feel of what it was like getting dicked down by a big shot pro-hero.” She said casually.
“Did you know he was married?” You asked.
“Yeah but he didn’t seem to care so neither did I.” She said. This made your blood boil a bit and you wanted to cry so damn bad, but you refused to allow your whore of a husband and this stranger to see you break. You huffed before smiling again.
“You can take your leave now.” You kindly said. Leiko looked at you in confusion.
“You’re not mad?” She asked. Katsuki had the same thought running through his mind as his heart raced at this conversation happening right here right now.
“Oh I’m furious. But am I really supposed to be mad at some stranger who’s content with being a home wrecker? ‘Cuz I feel like most of my anger should be directed to the man-whore behind me.” You said, never looking Katsuki’s way.
“Y/N, please-“
“I’m not speaking to you yet.” You said calmly, still not looking at him. You didn’t have to turn around to know there were tears in your husband’s eyes. Leiko smiled before standing a little taller.
“Well then, I’ll be taking my leave,” she said and took off the big shirt and throwing it onto the couch, leaving herself in her underwear. “Am I expected to be back for another visit?”
“You can come back as many times as Katsuki asks. As far as I’m concerned, he’s a single man again.” You said with a laugh.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Katsuki asked with a break in his voice. Leiko laughed too before nodding and walking back to the bedroom and gathering her things. You walked silently to sit on the couch with Katsuki following you. “Y/N, what the fuck do you mean I’m single. I’m still your husband!”
You remained silent as you looked at him with a sarcastic smile. You said nothing as you waited for Leiko to return. “Say something!”
Finally, Leiko walked down the stairs, fully dressed, and looked to you before taking her leave. You smiled at her before speaking. “So..I don’t want him anymore. Do you?”
“No I’m good. Anybody’s good for a fuck but I don’t date cheaters.” Leiko said with her hand on the knob.
“I’m not a fucking cheater!” Katsuki shouted at her as he had tears dripping down his face. She gave him a dry laugh before opening the door.
“Take a look around Bakugou. You’re not a cheater?” She asked before walking out and shutting the door, leaving the two of you in the broken home. Silence passed and all that could be heard was Katsuki’s shaky breath. You then stood up, gaining his attention, and tried walking to your bedroom before Katsuki stopped you by holding onto your arm. Tight.
“Where the fuck are you going, Y/N?” He asked as he cried angrily. You tried to shake him off of you to no avail.
“I’m leaving you fucking idiot. If you haven’t noticed, you cheated. You were disloyal. You allowed some stranger into our home, into our bed, just to get your dick wet.” You said with an angry but calm tone.
“She wasn’t a stranger.” Bakugou said trying to defend himself. You laughed and stepped to face him.
“Oh really? Tell me one damn thing you know about her.” You asked. As Katsuki thought about it..he really didn’t know anything about her. Fuck- he didn’t even know her family name. All he knew was that her name was Leiko. They were speaking for a month and in that entire month, Katsuki only ever talked about himself. She never gave up any information about herself. All she wanted to do was get to know Katsuki and get in his pants. She really was a stranger and he just tossed away his entire relationship for some whore. His silence gave you your answer. “That’s what I thought.”
You tried walking away again before he ran to stand in front of you. “Y/N! Please! Just listen, okay? I was depressed because you were gone!”
“And that’s your excuse for cheating on me?!” You shouted.
“No! But- but it hurt me to even think about you in that hospital bed! I couldn’t even face you without feeling like I was dying! And then that fucking snake came and she distracted me and kept my thoughts away from you. She kept the pain away. I know that that’s not excuse for what I did but please try to understand why I did it!” He begged as he cried.
“I will never understand! Because I could never do what you did! If you were in the hospital, close to death, I would’ve been by your side every second of every day! Yes I would’ve felt all the pain and depression you did but I wouldn’t want to distract myself from it! Because at least then I would be thinking about you, and worrying about you, and caring about you, and loving you because you’re my husband Katsuki! I wouldn’t ever want to not think about you!” You shouted in anger and hurt as you allowed a few tears to fall. This urged Katsuki to cup your face in his hands and wipe away your tears.
“I’m so sorry, baby. Please, can we just move pass this? Please.” He said softly as he pressed his forehead to your own before you shoved him off.
“Get away from me!” You shouted, breaking his heart as he stumbled back. “After everything we’ve been through, you go and do this to me?! AFTER EVERYTHING?!”
“IM SORRY! PLEASE! I CAN’T TAKE BACK WHAT I DID BUT YOU HAVE TO FORGIVE ME!” He shouted back.
“WHO THE FUCK SAYS I HAVE TO FORGIVE YOU, BAKUGOU?!” You said, emphasizing the use of his family name. The name that you also held.
“Don’t call me that, baby, please.” He whimpered.
“DON’T FUCKING CALL ME THAT BAKUGOU! WE’RE DONE!” You shouted and walked away to your room with him following you. He kept spewing apologies up until you opened the bedroom door. It was a horrible mess and the stench of sex filled the air. You covered your mouth and nose as tears pricked your eyes before walking in to open your closet, disappointed as you noticed all the pictures of you two were flipped to be hidden. When you opened the doors, you didn’t find your clothes. “Where the fuck is my stuff, Bakugou.”
“I’m not telling you because you’re not leaving me, Y/N!” He said as he tried to hug you from behind before you pushed him off again.
“I’m not staying here! Tell me where my stuff is so I can leave!” You demanded.
“Like hell I will! We haven’t even had a full talk about this! You can’t just leave!” He said. You watched as tears fell down his face which only made you even more angry. He was crying? He did this! This is all his fault! How can he be the one upset?! “Y/N please, I’ll get on my fucking knees and beg you to stay if it’s what it takes but you can’t go! We’ve been together for 13 years! 13! Even before UA-“
“And you threw all that away when you decided to sleep with someone else.” You said calmly. You walked out of the room in search for your clothes as he followed and continued to speak with sobs breaking apart his sentences.
“Y/N please! I- I can fix this! You don’t have to go! You can stay and we can be happy, just like we’ve always been! Just like we were a few minutes ago before that bitch walked in and ruined everything!” He cried making you turn around in a snap.
“She didn’t ruin anything Katsuki. When you allowed her to come into your life and into our home, that’s when you fucked up. You did this to us. You ruined everything.” You said before continuing your search.
“T-Tell me what you want Y/N! I’ll make it happen! I’ll do anything- I’ll give you the fucking world! As long as you stay!” He begged. You approached the guest room in silence and Bakugou grew frantic as he blocked you from going in. “Please- don’t.”
“All my stuff is in there, isn’t it?” You asked, already knowing the answer and only having it confirmed when he remained silent. “Get out of my way.”
Bakugou shook his head as he kept the door block as you tried to pry your way through. Growing frustrated, you used a small amount of your quirk to blast him through the door, having him groan in pain as he hit the floor and watched you find your clothes in the guest room closet. You began packing your things and Bakugou was quick to stand and take everything you put in your bag out. “Stop it!”
“No! You’re staying with me! You’re not leaving me Y/N- I won’t lose you again!” He said as he tossed your bag across the room. You watched it go and stood in disbelief at his childish antics.
“Heh, you know what? Whatever, keep all the clothes. Maybe you’ll gift it to the next girl you decide to bring back here.” You said with attitude.
“I’m not bringing anybody else through those doors! I ONLY WANT YOU Y/N!” He shouted.
“Doubtful. Keep it, burn it, regift it, I don’t care. With my salary I can buy myself a new wardrobe and a new apartment. Far. Away. From you.” You said and walked out of the room. As you tried to exit the house, Katsuki pulled you back into his arms as you struggled in his grip with your face smushed against his chest.
“Please! Please tell me what you want! I’ll do anything! I’ll buy you anything! We’ll do whatever you want- Y/N I’ll even quit my job! Just please don’t go! Please forgive me!” He cried before you harshly pushed him off to reveal your sobbing face.
“I WANT TO LEAVE! BECAUSE I DONT WANT THIS ANYMORE KATSUKI!” You shouted before wiping your eyes and bringing your voice down. “I wanted my husband there with me at the hospital! I wanted him to be the first face that I saw when I woke up! But you couldn’t even give me that! Instead, you were in our home in our bed with some random person you found wherever having sex with her despite the fact that you’re a married man! …I was in a fucking hospital fighting for my life and my husband was too busy cheating on me, trying not to think about me…..I want to leave Katsuki.”
“….I can’t let you do that Y/N…I’m sorry. But I can’t do this without you.” He cried as you listed all his shortcomings. “I’ll give you whatever-“
“I don’t want material things!” You shouted in exhaustion. “I wanted your loyalty and love!”
“And you have that!”
“We wouldn’t be in this situation if I did!” You said. “I’m leaving, Katsuki. And not you or anybody else in this fucking world is going to stop me. If you try and trap me here I will break down these walls myself and get out. If you force me to stay I will do whatever it takes to get away from you. I’m not staying with you. So we’re done. And we’re getting a divorce, whether you like it or not.”
As you walked to the door you could hear his heart breaking cries as you opened the exit. “Y/N please. I don’t want this, I waited months for you to come home to me…I need you.”
“When are you gonna realize Katsuki? This is your fault. You did this to us.”
And with that, you shut the door on the house, the home, the relationship, and him. And it was all his fault.

Teasing Jerkwad
request: Post Prison Reid having this sense of new found confidence after he’s gotten out. Falls in love with a shy quiet techie girl at the BAU and does whatever he can to make her flustered and blushy just because he’s a cocky arrogant asshole who also happens to be in love with her. Always calling her nicknames and rubbing her shoulders when she’s doing some techy stuff on her computer per his request, kissing her forehead, praising her and holding deep eye contact pls write this I love you so much
Warnings: cursing,
A/N: I love you too my dear!
The first time you had met Spencer Reid was when he had returned from jail. He was dressed in a suit, a few bruises dressed around his eyes. You had just started working at the office as Penelope’s “liege”. She was basically your mentor.
You were in your corner of Penelope’s office, drinking coffee and browsing on your phone when He and Penelope came in laughing. You turned in your swivel chair, meeting their eyes.
“Hey Penelope...”
“Oh oh oh! You two haven’t met yet! Y/L/N, this is our resident genius Dr. Spencer Reid! Spencer this is my liege Y/L/N. She started working a few weeks ago! You’ll love her.”
The coffee in your mouth almost escapes, you had heard of Dr. Reid and his whole jail situation. You had tried your best to gather proof to get him out and actually you were quite successful.
“Reid, Y/L/N was actually the one who gathered most of the proof to get you out of there. Neither of us would go home until we got you out of there, she’s been up almost every night to get you out as fast as possible.”
“Pen! Don’t expose me like that! I’m so sorry Dr. Reid, I’m Y/N Y/L/N.”
You stumble over your own feet, waving in front of him. You had heard about his germ issue and wouldn’t dare give this guy a reason to hate you.
“Call me Spencer, and thank you so much for everything.”
He seemed so sweet.
It didn’t last long.
After your meeting with the man he was never too far, He started calling you daily, or even just coming in with requests to look things up.
“C’mon Honey, just look it up?”
“Y-you’re a genius! Don’t you know this stuff already? This is child’s play!”
“Please?”
He leaned down, your back facing him as you sat in front of your three computers. His arms wrapped around you from behind, whispering in your ear.
“For me?”
A crazy red blush crawls up your neck, slightly annoyed at the tall man.
“Go ask Pen! I- I’m busy!”
“Okay fine, just real quick can you look up-”
“Out!”
He sighs, hugging you tighter before releasing you and patting your shoulders. He walks away and the door shuts, a sigh of relief escaping your lips.
“Oh my god he’s gonna kill me one day.”
A few days later you’re working your first case alongside Penelope. It’s exhilarating, having to gather information at light speed is stressful, but nothing too bad.
The phone rings and Penelope answers, both of you working your fingers as fast as possible as Spencer’s voice rings out.
“What’s up doc?”
“Hey Garcia, hey princess,” you could feel Penelope’s eyes drift to you, her mouth dropping, “I need you to find someone for me. Try a man who’s been to rehab for drug abuse over three times, also been to jail. White, and married with two kids.”
You do as he says, finding twenty matches.
“Twenty matches.”
“Alright, his kids are between the ages of ten and fifteen. Maybe twins?”
“Two matches. Sending them over now.”
“Thanks princess, you’re the best.”
“N-no issue.”
He hangs up and Penelope turns her body to face you.
“Princess? He calls you princess?”
Your cheeks lit up bright red, embarrassed at her realization.
“Oh you like him!”
“No! He’s a teasing asshole who won’t let me do my job for three seconds without toying with me!”
“A teasing asshole who you you like.”
You try you’re hardest to fight the smile off of your face, but it’s no use, A wide grin has already smacked itself onto your lips at the thought of the hot doctor.
-
-
-
-
-
If only that smile had lasted.
God, Spencer was such a tease it hurt. He always had his hands on you, he was always so close. So damn close to your face, but never for too long. He always left as soon as he got you as flustered as possible.
And you were starting to get annoyed. He’s just been playing with your emotions for so long, toying with you like a kid with a doll.
“Hey princess, where you going?”
“As far away from you as possible.”
“Awww don’t be like that!”
He wraps an arm around your shoulders, which you forcefully shrug off while crossing into yours and Penelope’s office.
“I have things to file Doctor. Please let me work in peace.”
The one and only thing that peeved Spencer was the fact that you never called him Spencer. Or even just Reid. It was always sir or Doctor. It peeved Spencer so much that he grabbed your wrists and pushed you along in the room with his body until you both hit your desks, luckily, Penelope wasn’t in the room, or you’d have pushed him off.
“How many times do I have to tell you to call me Spencer huh? You hate me that much?”
“I don’t hate you! I just... You tease me so much and its the only way... That I can get even...”
He truly couldn’t stop the smile that grew as your words grew quieter with every syllable. You looked so shy and innocent whilst admitting your fault. He just wanted to ruin your innocence right then and there.
But he knew better than that. Instead, he released your wrists and set his hands on the sides of your face, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. You flushed into a deep crimson color, looking down in embarrassment.
“You were trying to fight by calling me doctor? Really? You couldn’t think of anything better?”
He asked, crouching down to your height to meet your gaze. His watching eyes only made you blush harder.
“Well I was going to ignore you but I was gonna miss you.”
Your lips were pursed as you whine, your hands awkwardly sticking to his forearms as he continues to smirk.
“Aww Sweetheart... You are so fucking adorable.”
He says before leaning in, pausing briefly to check for any signs that you don’t want this, but when you close your eyes, tilting your head up slightly, he leans in further, melding your lips together.
His lips are soft, plump, they feel like they were made for yours specifically. They felt so perfect. So wonderful.
When he pulls away, you can still feel his smile even before you open your eyes. You could feel how he had waited for so long to kiss you.
“Can I take you to dinner tonight?”
a simple nod was all he needed to answer his question.

How pissed is Greg that Anthony got a Spider-Man kiss before him?!?
Oh Furious!
Furious!
"What the fuck is this?!"
Gregory tossed his phone to his brother across the changing room, ignoring the shouts of Little Bridgerton!
Anthony barely looked up as he caught it, his eyes stuck on Kate across the room, talking to Pep about something, her hands moving wildly as she spoke.
Anthony looked down at it briefly, a smirk quirking his lips upwards as he tossed it back. "Well Gregory, when a Mummy and a Dadd love one another sometimes they press their lips together and sometimes other parts of themse-"
Gregory cringed back, "Yep! Thanks, you covered that a couple of years ago." His cheeks were burning.
"Well, then do you not recognise my future wife?" Anthony smirked enjoying this far too much as he called out, "Kate! Greg's forgotten he's met you!"
"Hey Greggy." Kate's lips were on his cheek as she stepped around him, settling herself on Anthony's lap.
"Hey, Kate." Gregory sighed, his cheeks still burning when another arm slipped around his waist, another pair of lips on his cheek.
"Hey baby, I didn't know you were over here today."
Gregory's heart leapt, spinning wildly towards her, a slow smile cracking over his face as their eyes met. She'd stolen the red and blue cap she was wearing backwards from his bedside table this morning, her silky black hair swept back, her dark eyes wide as she raised her eyebrows, waiting for a response.
The very first time he'd seen her, perched on the edge of her desk when he'd shuffled in ready for his first assessment with the new doctor, he'd been struck a little dumb. stood there, standing in the middle of the room.
"Gregory?" A woman's voice had cut through his reverie, but not the woman on the edge of the desk. He'd spun around, a striking woman with a stethoscope around her neck smiling gently at him, "Everything okay?"
His cheeks had been burning, "Yeah! Yep! Sorry doc!" and he'd tried to keep his eyes off the woman for the rest of his physical.
Sophie had followed him out, claiming they all needed coffee, her lips moving quickly before he could even ask what he wanted. "Her name's Lucy Abernathy, she's studying physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan and she works as Kate's assistant part time. She's turning twenty in three weeks and no she isn't seeing anyone."
And he hadn't been able to stop himself from hugging her tightly. Of course, until four months ago when Lucy had said
"I really like your Star Wars Tattoo." He hadn't been able to bring himself to do anything about it either.
And then he'd sprinted into the carpark, the words tumbling over themselves to get out Lucy- I- wondered-if-you'd-like-to-go-out-with-me-sometime-because-i-think-you're-really-pretty-and-smart-and-I want-to-get-to-know-you!
A shy smile on her face when she said "Yeah, I'd really like that Greg. Can I-1?"
Her phone number written on his hand, and every day since then he'd loved her more and more.
"La la la Lucy!" He grinned down at her now, brushing their lips together softly, feeling her sigh against him.
"Oh look! He does know what a kiss is!" Anthony chortled behind him ignoring his fiancée's stop it they're sweet.
Gregory's cheeks burned, "Just-stop ruining spider-man for me!" And with that he marched from the changing room, trying to maintain whatever shred of dignity he had left.
"Do we need to talk about what happened in the changing room today?"
Lucy's voice was soft, her head in his lap his cap still on her head, keeping her hair out of her eyes as she read some sports journal or another.
Gregory's cheeks burned, "I just- I really like Spider-man." He tapped the logo on the cap she was wearing. "And Horn dog Anthony is ruining it."
Lucy hummed, reaching back, running her hands through his hair, his heart hammering in his chest. "Is that all?"
It was ridiculous, he knew it was, the stupid feeling that had bubbled in his chest. Embarrassed to say it now, but he couldn't help himself.
"Maybe that was like... the first kiss I ever saw in a movie and-"
"You had a crush on Kirsten Dunst didn't you?"
Gregory blinked dryly, Lucy's head tipped back to look him in the eyes. "I have never hid that. Emma Stone and Zendaya too."
Lucy's smile was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen when she slid from his lap, walking round to sit on the floor, facing the arm of the chair, an eyebrow raised, "Come on then Greggy, Spider-man kiss time."
He stared stupidly back at her, a smirk on her lips as she tugged against his shoulders until he was dangling over the edge, her eyes shining at him, leaning close, her perfume engulfing him, and then her lips were on his, soft and gentle, her tongue moving gently against his, lazy and perfect as a flash of light filled the room.
Lucy pulled back after a long moment, her eyes still shining down at him as she left a kiss on the tip of his nose before she looked down at his phone in her hand, tapping away before she left it lightly on his chest.
"You're my dream girl." He couldn't stop smiling as she kissed his chin.
"You're really cute."
And when he looked down at his phone seconds later, and saw his new screensaver, he didn't give a flying fuck about Anthony's billboard.
"I love you."
Her smile was bright when she settled back on his lap. "Yeah I love you too."

i finished for the holidays and i just *chefs kiss* beautiful talented amazing sajkgdkj no words i love that romance wasnt even the main point 🥺💘 anyway i love how you write reader and i wondered between her and spencer who gets jealous???
Unrivaled
Summary: In which you seem pretty close with the new intern, and Spencer is not happy about it. (ft. one of my fave white bois) “Have I ever told you how much I value your friendship?"
WC: 3.6k
Tags/Warnings: Spencer Reid x GN!Reader, fluff, cussing, Jealous!Spencer bc id like to see that, established relationships (blegh), Garvez if you squint, the lightest implication of smut ever, points to yall who can guess who the intern is before reading the end or the tags 😉
—
Spencer is not jealous. He’s not.
Why would he be?
He has no reason to be jealous, Spencer chants to himself as he sits at his desk. Even from across the bullpen he still manages to hear your voice, and while normally it’s music to his ears, even better than Mozart, now it just feels like nails against a chalkboard. Grating his eardrums, making him wince.
Because you’re laughing. Not with Spencer though. Not at his obscure references or lame jokes.
With the new intern.
Why did Emily have to put you in charge of him? She could’ve chosen anyone on the team to have him shadow, but it had to be you! Not that you’re incapable or unqualified; you’re experienced, talented, and the best person he knows.
… Okay, he can see why she picked you.
Why do they even have interns? Unnecessary, really, when the BAU has you and him and he guesses the other teams too (it’s weird, he’s never actually interacted with them but whatever). Maybe it’s time to start making budget cuts. He’ll discuss this with Emily when he gets the chance. He’s got some influence, working at the BAU as long as he has.
But he’s not jealous.
Logically, jealousy (like an intern) is unnecessary. The green-eyed monster (like an intern) is ugly and contributes nothing productive, and if Spencer’s being honest, the world (like an intern) would be much better off without it.
At least that’s what he keeps telling himself as he downs his coffee like a shot of whiskey, trying to quell the squirming beast in him. Despite 90% of it being sugar, it still tastes bitter. He sets his mug down with a thud, and it’s loud enough to make Luke, Garcia, and JJ turn their heads, exchanging concerned glances when he slumps back in his chair.
Spencer doesn’t care. The world’s ending; you’re apparently into younger guys, with neat dark hair and forearms that can probably snap someone’s neck, and he can’t do anything about it. What does it matter if his best friends catch him in a sour mood, right?
“Hey, Spence,” JJ's tone is soft as they slink over, Garcia and Luke leaning against the edge of his desk and JJ flanking the other side. “You alright?”
“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” Spencer gazes past them, his eyes never leaving you. He deflates; your stance is relaxed, completely open as you nod at whatever Intern is saying, his hands gesturing spastically. It must be interesting, the way you listen with rapt attention and respond just as enthusiastic.
Spencer scoffs. Not like that’s anything special. You do the same for him. And the rest of the team.
...What the hell are you guys talking about?
“Well, you look like you’re about to throw your mug across the room. Or at an intern.”
Spencer blinks, finally breaking away from you long enough to eye the ceramic octopus. “That’s a good idea actually.”
“Don’t,” Garcia and JJ both shoot him a warning and he huffs, resting his chin in his hand. Garcia looks horrified, betrayed even while JJ has that expression on, the one she gives when she scolds Henry and Michael.
Whatever. It’s not like he’d ever sacrifice Mildred. Garcia entrusted her to him, after all.
Unless...?
No, he couldn’t… Maybe.
“You know, Reid, if you’re jealous—”
Spencer snaps his head to Garcia, eyes wide and darting to you like you have super-hearing, “Jealous? Who’s jealous? Not me.” He cringes, his voice octaves higher and cracking like a prepubescent boy.
Garcia snorts, “Okay, sure. But if you are jealous, I was going to say you have no reason to be. You wanna know why?” Spencer raises an eyebrow at her and she continues, “Sure the guy’s smart enough to get a full-ride scholarship at GWU, and he’s top of his class at the academy—”
“Is this supposed to make me feel better?”
"And he’s one of the most good looking guys I've ever met—”
"How is that relevant—"
Luke frowns at her. "And have you met me?"
“My point is,” Garcia’s red lipstick curls into the most reassuring smile, “that you have nothing to worry about because (Your Name) loves you. A lot.”
Spencer perks up. “You really think so?”
“I know so. I see the way they look at you, and if that’s not love I don’t know what is," She shrugs, "And just because they’re talking doesn’t mean they’re into him.”
There's a collective nod of agreement and Spencer sags in relief. Of course they're right. He knows they are.
If you think about it, technically, he's got the advantage. You've known each other longer, bonded and shared experiences together good and bad, and you’re emotionally and even physically intimate with each other (something he's especially proud of, considering how long it takes you both to warm up to others).
And who knows? This is probably temporary! Whatever this is, the connection you seem to instantly make with Intern (faster than when you two had met, he realizes with a needle to his heart) is short-term at best. It'll peter out eventually, like most friendships do.
It’s sad, but a cruel fact of life.
(Is this selfish, wishful thinking? Nah.)
They’re right, there is no need to worry, Spencer thinks as a weight lifts off his chest, finally able to breathe. You love him and he loves you and eventually, everything will go back to normal.
There’s nothing to worry about.
—
The world’s ending.
“It’s really not.”
Yes, it is.
“Doc, come on.”
“Do not ‘Doc’ me,” Spencer grumbles, lifting his head from the comfort of his arms. He grimaces at Luke. “You didn’t see the way they looked at him. The way they talk about him.”
Two weeks. It’s been two weeks since you’ve taken Intern under your wing, and he’s had enough. If Hell is real, this is it. For days, he’s tried to resume some form of normalcy, and he was never one to be bold but desperate times call for desperate measures as he asks you out for lunch or invites you out on dates, even stuff he wouldn’t normally do because they’re more your thing. Something, anything to get you away from Intern. But...
At work: “Hey Spence, I'm teaching Intern (menial task that a 4 year old could do). Would you like to help—”
During break: “I’m taking Intern out for lunch. He’s still new to town, and I thought he could use a tour—”
In bed: “Did you know Intern’s a huge fan of Star Wars—”
Snap, and there went his patience.
Intern this, Intern that.
Spencer could tolerate this at work. At least he’s saving lives, being productive, getting paid. But under his roof? In his bed?
That was the last straw.
Spencer's not one to wish ill on another, he's not like that. But if something happened to the guy, say, get injured in the field, perhaps from a "stray" bullet, he'd be intern-ally grateful. Heh.
"Hey, you good?"
Spencer sighs, swiping a hand over his face and turning back to Luke. "Yeah, why?"
Luke waves a hand at his face, eyebrow raised, "For a second there, you kind of had a scary look on your face."
"Did I? Weird."
"Right," Clearly unconvinced, Luke brushes it off, deciding to get to the root of the matter. "As I was saying, I still think you have nothing to worry about. Although, I do think it's a little weird that (Your Name) is talking about Intern as much as you say they are." He offers Spencer a little smile, his hand falling heavy on his shoulder. It's the most comforting touch he's had in two weeks. "I'm not one to talk, but I suggest you speak to them. I'd also be uncomfortable if my partner were talking up someone else."
Spencer blinks, squints at Luke, before gripping his hand and standing up. "Have I ever told you how much I value your friendship?"
"You can stand to mention it more often," Luke shrugs, eyes crinkling with amusement as Spencer lets go and heads for the door.
"Noted."
—
Spencer nearly goes feral when he finds you.
Of course you're with him.
He searched the floor like a bloodhound, discovering you've been on your feet almost the entire day, running around the office, up and down the elevators, finishing your work and helping around. You must be exhausted. It's because of this he tracks you to your favorite break room, mostly quiet save for the buzzing drip of the old coffeemaker. He knows you need to be alone sometimes, recharge those social batteries.
So when he bursts into the room like he would hunting an unsub, eyes quickly scanning the immediate space, he expects nothing less but you. What he did not anticipate was to find you, just as soft and pretty as ever under the fluorescent lighting, leaning against the counter and sipping daintily at your favorite mug.
With Intern standing a little too close to his liking.
“Hey, Spencer,” You chirp as you lower your coffee mug, lips glossy from your drink. Spencer's quick to shake his stupor―he can’t afford to be distracted, but it’s difficult when you’re beaming at him, clearly excited. You nod at the home-wrecker, “Me and Intern here were just talking about demonology and he’s got this interesting theory on werewolves―" Lycanthropy? Are you fucking kidding him right now?
Just when he thought he couldn't hate the guy any more.
"CanItalktoyou?" It comes out rushed as Spencer gasps between breaths, leaving no room to second guess himself.
"Sure," You blink at his urgent tone.
For a second, you watch him expectantly, and Spencer's gaze darts between you and Intern. "Alone?"
"Oh! Okay. Be gone," You wave Intern off, and when you place a hand on his shoulder, Spencer sees red. Or green in this case.
Intern doesn't resist, but the noise Spencer releases is animalistic because the guy can’t seem to read the room, questioning you as you gently shove him towards the door. "What about the thing―"
"We'll talk about that later."
"But you still need to show me how to―"
"Don't worry, Intern. Just wait for me, I'll show you once the adults are done talking."
"You know at some point you're gonna have to call me by my name."
"Nah. If we get to call Luke a newbie, we get to call you Intern. Also I do not know how to say your first name."
"You could just call me St―"
Enough of this. Spencer closes the last stretch of distance, batting your hand away from Intern’s shoulders as he kicks him out himself, slamming the door in his face. Spencer turns on his heel to face you, caging you both. “You―” He pants, chest heaving for air.
“Me?”
“You-him-we―”
You’re unfazed, simply nodding at him and his odd behavior. If anything, you’re enjoying this as your lips twitch in a poor attempt to withhold your amusement, trying to cover it with a slurp of your cup. Then again, it’s not everyday you get to see Spencer, face flushed from exertion, speechless as he gasps for breath.
(At least not at work… In the break room specifically.)
It takes a minute as Spencer swallows a few times, but his heart’s erratic and it’s not just from running through the entire building. When he’s got enough air, he blurts out, “Did I do something?”
Your brow shoots up. “What?”
“Did I forget something important? Upset you in some way?”
“No? I don’t think so?” You frown at him, your answers more like questions.
It only spurs him on, and though his tone is frantic and his eyes just as wild as his hair, you’re more intrigued than frightened. Definitely confused.
“Okay, but you know I love you, right?”
“Yes and I love you too but Spence, what’s this about?" Setting down your mug, you look at him like he's grown another head.
Spencer sighs, "I just… you…" He frowns, glancing between you, the floor, and the empty space between you.
Spencer Reid is a man of words. Many, many words, according to all his friends and his coworkers. Mainly knowledge―he's never been great with feelings―but as you gaze at him, patiently waiting for him to gather his thoughts, he wants to melt into the floor. There's not a hint of annoyance on your features, your eyes warm and inviting.
He's so in love with you.
Then like scripture the words come, natural without much stuttering or hesitancy. He recounts the last two weeks. The internship so far, the times you've left Spencer behind for him, the times you just talked about him, like the guy (practically a stranger) is your new best friend. Usually, pretty people make him tongue-tied and you do―god, you do―but at the same time only you make it so easy. Talking, expressing without fear of―
"Pfft―"
―Judgement. Pausing mid-sentence, Spencer gawks as your nose twitches and your blink rate increases. You purse your lips, a hand slapped over your mouth as it threatens to break out into a grin.
"Are you-are you laughing right now?" When he just poured his feelings out to you?
That does it. You keel over, peels of laughter coming like a tsunami, crashing into him and Spencer loves your laugh but not when it's at him.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I shouldn't be laughing," you wheeze, gripping your stomach. Spencer pouts. There's even tears in your eyes. "But you're telling me this is all because you're jealous?"
He stutters, "Well-I-no-It’s just…" He wants to say ‘you're mine’, but as your eyes crinkle he knows there’s no need.
"That's kinda hot."
"Wha-really?" Wide-eyed, Spencer squeaks as you step closer to him, backing him into the door. His hands come up to his chest in a kitten-like manner yet at the same time protective―you'd never hurt him and you both know that―but you admit your initial reaction was poor when he laid his feelings bare.
“Ahhhh Babe, you know there’s no one else for me but you.” Spencer blushes and you chuckle, taking his hands in yours. He let's you. “Also, as adorable as Intern is, one, I think I’d be able to tell if he was hitting on me, and two, he’s not really my type.”
Spencer swallows, “And what exactly is your type?”
“Hmm, let’s see,” Looking him up and down, you step closer, enough that your breath puffs against his chin. You smell like cheap coffee. “Tall, handsome doctors with messy, brown hair―” You lightly tug at one of his stray curls and he bites back a smile.
“―and a cute nose―” Your hand moves to cup his cheek, bringing him down to peck the tip of his nose. It scrunches as Spencer breaks out into giggles.
“―Who can recite classic literature. Who can bake like he belongs on The Great British Baking Show but can’t cook for shi―”
“Okay! Thank you, I get it,” Spencer says, almost completely relaxed now.
“Good,” You nod with finality. “And for your information, I wasn’t trying to make you jealous."
He raises an eyebrow. "So you just abandoned me and talked about another guy for the hell of it?"
Spencer's tone is casual, joking even but you know better. There's underlying bitterness and hurt and your heart squeezes because you did that. "No, of course not. There is a reason behind all that.“
“What could possibly excuse you going above and beyond your job as a mentor―”
“I was trying to set you guys up.”
Spencer deadpans. “Set me up? With him?” Oh god, he knows you’re weird, but he’s never considered you to be outright insane (is it weird he still loves you?).
As if reading his thoughts, you roll your eyes, “Spencer, how many friends do you have outside the team?”
“Not a lot.” No hesitation, but he accepted the fact a long time ago.
“Yeah and that’s okay. But if you’d talk to Intern, you’ll find you two have a lot in common. I know he’s younger than us, but he’s a good kid, real smart,” You give him a meaningful look and shrug, “Not like IQ 187 smart but he could definitely hold a conversation with you.”
Spencer murmurs, pulling you in so you're chest to chest, “This entire time, you were really trying to make us friends?”
You nod, your expression a mix of giddiness and hope that makes whatever feelings he felt before, the confusion and―yes, fine―the jealousy, dissolve like sugar in water. Spencer sinks into you, burying his face into the crook of your neck and inhaling your soap. Of course you had good intentions. Of course you wanted to do something nice for him.
Fuck, he loves you.
“So… we good?”
Spencer huffs, “I hope you realize how much I suffered the past few weeks.”
“I know, I’m sorry.”
“Then yes, we’re good,” He mumbles into your shoulder, “I appreciate what you were trying to do.”
“And?”
His brow furrows and he pulls back, meeting your eyes. “And what?”
“Will you try to be friends?” You look at him expectantly.
Spencer opens his mouth to answer, a definitive no on his tongue, but then you’re giving him puppy-dog eyes and before he realizes it, “Okay.”
Wait, no. That is not what he meant to say.
“Yeah!” You throw your arms around him, and Spencer can’t stop you, grunting as you basically swing him around like a rag doll. But he finds he doesn’t care when you set him back down because you’re happy, happy for him, grinning ear to ear as you babble, “I can already tell you two are gonna be the best of friends! You guys have so much to talk about, all that nerdy stuff. Maybe even debate! And we could play chess and―”
There’s a knock and you both turn, a voice muffled by the door, “Hey, guys? I don’t want to interrupt in case you’re boning, but you didn’t exactly tell me where to wait for you? God, I hope you guys aren’t boning. Please tell me you’re not boning right now.”
You groan, “No Intern, we’re not boning! Right-uh-go ahead and meet me back at the office, I’ll be right with you.” You turn back to Spencer, sending him an apologetic look. “I will see you later, okay? And since you’ve been such a patient and understanding partner,” You plant him one last kiss before patting his cheek, and his eyes widen as your voice lowers in the way you know drives him crazy, your eyes glinting with mischief, “I’ll make it up to once we get home. Bye, love you!”
Before Spencer can fully register your words, you're out the door, cackling as you leave him to compose himself, his face beet red from running the possibilities. By the time he emerges from the break room, you’re long gone.
“Hi, Dr. Reid?”
Spencer almost snarls, cursing under his breath. Just when he thought the day was getting better. He turns back.
Intern stands tall, relaxed and shoulders back, black tie loose and cheap white-collar button up slightly wrinkled. No doubt from working hard and following your instructions throughout the day. Spencer respects the work ethic at least. Meanwhile, the younger man eyes him, and he’s certain it’s not from intimidation but with curiosity.
Spencer doesn’t linger on that. He’s used to it, not being intimidating to others.
He continues, “It’s nice to finally talk to you, one on one I mean. I’m a fan of your work. Seven degrees, huh?”
“Yeah,” Spencer says curtly. Recalling the earlier conversation with you, he stamps down his irritation and tries to extend an olive branch. “How did you know?”
“It’s the internet, sir,” Intern raises an eyebrow, offering an innocent smile.
“Right,” Spencer returns it with an awkward one of his own, “Hey, sorry for... literally kicking you out before. That was completely unprofessional.”
Intern waves him off, “No, it’s cool. I totally get it. I’m flattered, by the way.”
Spencer frowns. “Flattered?”
“Well, it’s not everyday you find out your superior’s jealous of you.”
Spencer blinks, and it takes all his experience as a profiler to mask his embarrassment. “You heard that.”
“The FBI’s got thin walls,” Intern shrugs and steps towards him. “Although I have to say, Agent (Your Last Name) is wrong about one thing.” Stopping short in front of him, for the first time Spencer is close enough to note the moles dotting his face. “They can’t tell that I’m flirting with them.”
He starts down the hall after you, and Spencer’s eyes trail after him as his brow furrows, until realization slams into him and his jaw drops. “Wait, you...”
“Oh and since (Your Last Name) wants us to be friends, I think we could be on a first-name basis,” He pauses to look back at Spencer, watching with a crooked smile as the older man sputters.
“So, you can call me Stiles, sir.”
Then once again, Spencer is left behind, frozen in the hallway as he processes what just happened.
And the next time he finds you and Special Agent Stilinski in the same room, whether it’s crowded or not, Spencer does not hesitate to cling to your side, putting as much distance between the intern and you as he can. Spencer’s grateful you don’t question it.
There may not be anyone else for you, but that doesn’t mean no one will try.

“I've only ever wanted you.” You repeated into the silence of your apartment, barely listening to the news that played on tv. Images of various villains flittered on the screen, your eyes falling on the one face you couldn’t stop seeing behind your eyelids. You shut the tv off with a huff, eyes watering at the whole mess.
Hands slinging your blanket over your back, you bundled yourself up and sat in bed, pulling your other blanket over your legs and feet. You couldn’t even begin to find the correct words for just how much you had missed Otto.
Even after all this time, Otto remained as handsome as he had been the last time you had seen him all those dreadful months ago. His soft brown hair that shined red in the sunlight, his gorgeous brown eyes that used to always seek you out in a crowd.
You sighed, replaying his words in your mind. Did he mean everything he had said? He had never been a liar, that you knew…
For weeks after his accident, you had thought him dead. For months, you had listened to the radio and new outlets, slandering his work and very career once he had emerged, tentacles and all, turning to a life of crime.
How long had you mourned him, mourned the fragile friendship you had had together, mourned his work but most importantly, mourned your love for him? It had taken weeks, months even, to finally be able to step back into this laboratory and work, and not be pitied by every living soul here.
They had all known of your deep and dark secret, the love you had held so dear for the Scientist, but stayed silent.. all except for one.
Peter Parker. Sweet Peter Parker, always there for you no matter, always asking if you needed help or a shoulder to cry on, always asking how you were holding up with everything.
It had been Peter, of all people, who had saved you from the endless internal darkness that had started to consume you slowly but surely, depression sinking its claws into you and pushing you towards dangerous thoughts.
He, who had asked you if you wanted to go see a movie together. He, who had walked you home every night afterwards, only ever smiling and offering his arm whilst you tried to say it was okay.
He, who had tentatively asked you if you wanted to be his girlfriend that one summer night after a quiet walk, knowing full well how your heart held a part of itself for another.
It was he, who had kissed your lips, reassuring you that he understood what it felt like, having already lost the love of his life too.
And so, telling yourself that maybe this was what you needed to finally forget Octavius, you had given him a chance; slowly taking your time together and learning about one another, becoming closer and closer by the passing day.
Peter’s secret identity hadn't been kept from you long after you noticed Spiderman arriving at your Oscorp to walk you home, just like Peter did. He had practically fallen off a building when you asked out loud if he was done stalking you like a creep, his laugh echoing softly in the noisy New York streets.
“Aren’t you afraid a villain will come and kidnap me Pe- Spiderman?” You had asked him, grinning even though your heart clenched at the idea of *one* villain kidnapping you. Thoughts like those were burned and shooed away, trying to focus on the good and kind man that loved you.
“Don’t worry, Ill always protect you Y/N.” He assured you with a whisper, bowing his head as you stepped inside your shared apartment complex.
You had come to love him too, in a way, over time.
Your first time together was the moment you realized your heart was irreparable; Peter’s hands were on your hips, holding you softly as he fucked you but in that moment, another man’s name found itself on your lips, a name all too familiar to you, trying to make its way out and into the air between you. You hadn’t let it, swallowing both it and your shame down, sorrow coursing through you as Peter called out your name.
A few days later, on an early September day, as you turned away from the amazing view from your apartment window, the wind blowing your hair from your face, you had felt it; Nervous energy in the air, shudders wracking your body.
Peter Parker asked you to marry him on the same balcony moments after.
No amount of preparation would have ever prepared you for the absolute heartbreak you had felt as the man before you wore bruises shaped like claws, deep cuts and barely fading scars, crooked grin smiling up at you with a ring in hand, waiting.
“I know I’m not him, and you aren’t her, but I'd like to love you for the rest of my life.”
You had sobbed under the loud noise of the shower until the water turned cold, and after.
Though now, sitting here alone in your living room, you wondered why life sought to hurt you so.
Soon you would be married to a sweet man who loved you, adored you, and all fantasies of the tall Doctor Octavius would have to be forgotten and erased.
You sighed again, burying your face into your blanketed hands, trying to will yourself to stop feeling this way. Peter deserved someone who loved him with all their heart, not someone who craved another and had let said man eat them out in their previous work place.
A knock sounded at your front door and you frowned, standing, wrapped in your blankets still, to answer.
Would it be possible… that he would come? Would he knock on the door, or simply open it, hands seeking you out and untying your robe, touching what he had already accidentally claimed?
As you turned the handle and opened the door, your inner shame grew, eyes landing on the smiling face of your best friend Allie.
“Thought Id come see how the bride-to-be was feeling! How- Oh my god Y/N what's wrong?” Allie said in a rush as she saw tears form in your beautiful eyes, stepping inside in a hurry to comfort you. You could barely let out a sob, let alone words, arms wrapping around the woman.
“Y/N, babydoll, what's going on? You can talk to me, you know that right? Nothing leaves this room, only between you and me.” Your best friend whispered, holding you tightly.
She pulled away, arms still wrapped around you but just enough to see your face, and you knew she had figured it out, knew she had pieced it together. “Oh, Y/N… It’ll be okay, it’ll go away.”
What Allie failed to know though, was that you didn’t want it to go away, still feeling his soft but firm fingers holding your thighs and ankles, kisses laid against your skin.
You didn’t want your love for Otto Octavius to disappear, just like the words of love and adoration groaned along your thighs and core, expressive brown eyes seeking yours out in desperation. Desperate for what, you still didn’t know, but it made your heart race, thinking that the renowned Doctor Octavius and villain Doctor Octopus wanted to see you reach ecstasy by his hand and his alone, desperate for only his name to find itself on your tongue.
And you felt even more horrible for it.
*
Allie held you close, blankets wrapped around the both of you as she flicked through channels on TV.
“Want to talk about it?” She whispered, eyes still trailed on the TV but you knew her attention was solely on you.
What was there to say in a situation like this?
“No.” You croaked out, snuggling closer against her in an effort to forget everything, forget the outside world, forget the fact that the very man you wanted most of all was also somewhere out there. You weren’t surprised when Allie sighed, the sound of the TV shutting off. She laid down beside you, worried eyes gazing back at you.
“You know, it's not…” Allie paused, breath caught in her throat at the sight of you.
“It's not abnormal for marriages to be cancelled.” She continued, her eyes flickering over your face for a sign that you were understanding her meaning. You could barely breathe as she waited, the implication of her words sounding out.
“Allie thats- Peter, he-“ you tried, heart breaking at the idea of telling Peter you could no longer marry him. Allie, the beautiful thing she was, faked a gag and rose up, sitting beside you.
“Y/N, forget Pete for the moment okay? He doesn’t exist right here, right now.” She started, turning back towards your surprised visage with a finger pointed at you.
“I will always be here for you. I know you aren’t happy… I just want you to know that it’s never too late to cancel anything.”
You cried that night, silently into your pillow, never acknowledging the words she had spoken. Allie remained with you for the next few days, never uttering another word of the subject she had begun, helping you instead prepare for your wedding.
That night, you dreamt of large hands pulling you close and whispers of love pressed against your breast, heartbeat steady as he asked the one thing you could never lie about:
“Do you love me, Y/N? Me, and only me?” He whispered, lips moving against your collarbone, heated kisses following his words.
“I've only ever loved you.” You whispered back and watched the Otto before you smile, his hold turning bruising.
*
New York, even at night, was never silent. Noises could be heard everywhere and anywhere, people out and about, some heading home and some heading out.
Allie liked the hustle and bustle of the town, always eager to find a new Hole-in-the-wall type of bar or restaurant to get drunk in, and tonight, after saying she wanted to make you feel better with sushi, hadn’t been any different. She hummed under her breath and dutifully followed you back to your apartment, the both of you enjoying each other’s presence.
Convenience store bags in hand, you looked back at Allie as she wobbled, her steps mismatched, a half empty beer can in hand.
“Come on Al, we're almost there!” You laughed, watching her try to Hopscotch along the street. She stopped, eyes wide and smile even wider, throwing the beer can into the air and away from the both of you, making you cringe as it hit the ground.
“Oh my god- Was that a laugh!?” She yelled happily, the smell of beer and sake wafting off of her as she ran up beside you and held you close, arms trapped in her hold. You couldn’t help but smile at your best friend, mouth opening to chastise her for littering but you didn’t have the time; a faint melody met both your ears and Allie beamed, disentangling herself from you. You barely had time to register what song it was before she leaned away, breathing in sharply and letting loose.
“You should have bought her flowers!” She sang out, words echoing in the streets around you. Sang was perhaps too kind of a word though, as she scratchily belted out Bruno Mars lyrics.
“Shh! Oh my god Allie, shhhhhhh! Shut up!” You tried, running after her as she continued back to your apartment complex, uncaring of the people passing you by.
“You should’ve held her hand! Should’ve given her all your hours!” You barely made it in time to her, free hand rising to try and quiet her, heart racing as you imagined someone hearing-
“But now she’s marrying another man!”
Her words felt like a bath of freezing cold water, any remnants of alcohol in your system instantly evaporating.
She was right. You were, and no matter what fantasies and dreams you liked to imagine, you knew that life couldn’t continue like this, childishly hoping and wishing for another man to come sweep you up.

Amnesia
Pairings: Sebastian Stan x Reader
Words: 2551
Warnings: A few swears, ANGST(lets be real, what else is new?), and some fluff.
Summary Request: Sebastian and reader broke up like a year ago and one day she receives a call from the hospital and they tell her that Seb had an accident and she’s still his emergency contact so she goes to see him because she still loves him. And when he wakes up he has amnesia and he doesn’t remember they broke up, so he thinks they’re still together and the doctors tell her she has to play along because telling him the truth can be damage for his brain and he has to remember on his own?
A/N: Here is the very long awaited request someone sent in. I’m so incredibly sorry this took SO LONG to write but life got away from me. I really hope you like it and it was well worth the wait.
The double doors in front of me opened with a breeze as I quickly walked up to the small lady behind the front desk. She was chatting with another girl but the conversation immediately ceased when I walked up.
“Hi, can I help you?” Her tired voice asked.
Guilt raked me when I realized exactly how late it was but knew that this was normal for them.
“Uh, my name is Y/N Y/LN. I got a call from Dr. Stone that someone was admitted to the emergency room,” I stuttered over a few of my words.
“Can I have the patient's name?” The nurse clicked at her computer.
“Sebastian Stan.”
I hadn't muttered that name in so long that it sounded so foreign on my lips.
The nurse's ears perked up and she crossed her arms over her chest. “I’m going to need to see some I.D.”
Muttering some not so nice things under my breath, I slid my I.D over to her and smirked in triumph. “Can I go see him now?”
“Room 5 on the right,” she nodded behind the desk, where the doors to the emergency room opened.
A large breath left my lips as I slowly walked towards the room, preparing myself for what I was about to see. The phone call I received said that he had fallen while doing a stunt, hitting his head hard on the mat below him. Thankfully he wasn’t severely injured but what worried me was what the doctor had stressed on the phone.
He thinks it is April of 2019.
That was over a year ago.
He had amnesia but the doctor was very optimistic that it was temporary and that he would remember everything soon; I needed to be the one to help him with it.
“Y/N?”
My feet came to a halt at the deep voice behind me and I gave the man in a leather jacket a soft smile. “Hey Anthony. How is he?”
Mackie smiled. “He’s good, all things considered. He still thinks it's April of last year.”
“So he thinks?” I trailed off.
Anthony nodded. “The docs think it’s going to help him if you play along, pretend you two are still together.”
I let out a soft sigh. “I don’t think I can, Mack. We exactly didn’t have the easiest break up.”
“I know but anything to help him get better, right?”
I nodded, agreeing, and with a quick hug goodbye to Anthony, I entered the room trying to ignore the doubts that filled my mind.
He laid in his bed, the T.V in the corner playing a soft tune of FRIENDS reruns but his eyes weren’t watching it; they were trained on me.
“Hey babe, I was wondering when you would get here.” He went to sit up in bed but hissed in pain.
“Seb, relax. You don’t need to sit up, you should be relaxing,” I chastised him.
Pulling the chair next to his bed, I sat down and hesitated before taking his extended hand. His hair was much poofier than I remembered and the amount of grey hair in his beard had doubled. The bags under his eyes were deeper than the last time I had seen him, his work schedule weighing him down.
“What happened?” I questioned.
Sebastian squeezed my hand. “I fell while doing a stunt. Doctors said I smacked my head really good.”
“Did they say when you could leave?” I asked.
“Tonight. They suggested that you watch me closely, in case I do have a concussion.”
My heart sank. We had to spend the night together?
Biting my lip, I quickly nod. “Of course, Seb.”
Silence fell between us and it took him a second to notice something was wrong.
“Are you okay?,” he questioned while lifting my gaze to meet him. “You seem distant.”
Swallowing the large lump in my throat, I tried my best to reassure him with a nod. “Yeah, I was worried about you, that’s all.”
My heart hammered in my chest when I felt his soft lips graze across my forehead. “I’m okay, babe. I’ll be even better when we're back home in bed.”
I felt my body stiffen at that thought of us in bed together. How could I play it off that we were still together and in love when truthfully, we should hate each other? We broke up over a year ago and it was the nastiest one I had ever experienced.
We hadn’t spoken one word to each other since that night but I couldn’t help but feel warmth fill my heart knowing I was still his emergency contact.
Tonight was going to be fun.
“Need anything else, Seb?” I questioned after getting him set in bed.
The flat we used to share looked exactly the same, as if I never left. The clean pile of clothes still had a permanent residence on the large grey chair in the corner of the room; Seb never having the time to put them away.
The light from the moon still cascaded it’s way through the bay window, causing beautiful shadows across the hardwood floor and across Seb’s face.
“Just you in bed with me,” Seb gave me a cheeky grin.
I couldn’t help to mirror it before nodding. “Give me a few minutes, I want to freshen up before bed.”
Eyes followed my every movement as I rummaged through the dresser drawers, remembering where Seb kept his shirts and sweats. My body froze when I saw the picture that sat upon the dresser. It was one of us when we were vacationing in Greece and we were standing in front of the Acropolis.
I couldn't help but pick it up, smiling at the fond memory.
“We should go again,” Sebastian's voice said from behind me.
I nodded. “It was a great trip, wasn't it?”
Tears brimmed at my eyes but before he could say anything about it, I scurried into the master bath, letting the door quickly shut behind me. While I freshened up, I tried everything to not let this whole situation bother me.
How could I pretend to still be with Sebastian, knowing what I know. There was a point, long ago, that we were happy. We loved each other, more than anyone knew, but the love wasn’t enough for the doubt that weighed us down.
“Y/N?”
A soft knock tapped against the door.
With a quick sniffle and wiping away my tears, I quickly opened the bathroom door. “You okay?”
Sebastian looked at me with a worried look. “Were you crying?”
I shook my head. “No, I’m fine.”
“You shut the door. You never shut the door,” Sebastian noted.
“Oh,” my fingers gripped the dark wood, forgetting that I always used to keep the bathroom door open when we lived together.
Sebastian's fingers laced with my own and with a gentle tug, I followed him to the bed. Before I knew it, my head was on his chest and his strong fingers raked through my hair. The familiar feeling made my stomach flip and I bit my lip, hoping the tears didn’t force their way out.
“I know you were scared from my accident today but I promise babe, I’m okay.” Seb’s soft voice comforted me.
No words were finding their way through my throat so all I could do was nod. I allowed myself to look in his gorgeous green eyes and with one quick look, I told myself that this was going to hurt like hell when this was all over.
Just like it did when we broke up.
The domestic bliss found its way between us and I allowed myself to melt into his embrace. My finger traced circles on his bare chest while he rubbed my back.
“You know what I noticed,” Seb’s voice spoke.
“Hmm?”
“You haven’t given me one kiss tonight,” He pouted.
My body froze in his embrace and he immediately noticed. I sat up in bed while Seb reluctantly let me go.
“I’m sorry, I can’t do this,” I cried while getting out of bed and starting to collect my things.
“Y/N, what is going on?” Sebastian questioned.
“You honestly don’t remember anything?” I asked after taking a quick pause while putting on my shoes.
When he shook his head, I couldn’t stop the word vomit that spit out of my mouth.
“We broke up, Seb! Over a year ago!”
He shook his head. “What?”
Pinching my eyes together, I let out a large sigh. “The doctors said you had amnesia and the last thing you remembered was April of last year. We broke up last July.”
“I’m confused. Then why are you here?”
“The doctors thought it would be best if I played along, to help you remember on your own but I can’t do it anymore. Knowing how we broke up and why; I can’t pretend that we are in love when you actually don't anymore.”
I could see in Sebastian’s eyes that he still wasn’t believing what I was saying so I pulled out my phone, letting a voicemail play on speaker.
“Y/N, I know that we’re not in the same city right now and this is a terrible way to do this but I can’t do it anymore. We’ve been apart for almost a month now and I’ve come to realize that I can’t keep stringing you along. I need time to grow and focus on my career, I can’t have someone waiting for me back home when I don’t even know when the next time I would be coming home. It’s not fair to you to wait for me; for someone that can’t keep his promises. I’ll be home next month so that gives you time to move out. I’m sorry.”
Silence fell throughout the flat, the sudden look of remembrance flashing across Sebastian’s face.
“Oh fuck,” he breathed. “I remember.”
“You broke up with me with a fucking voicemail. A three year relationship ended with a goddamn voicemail!” I yelled.
“I was scared,” Seb defended.
My eyes doubled with anger. “Don’t give me that bullshit again, Seb. We went through this already. I just want to get my things and go home.”
I went to run down the stairs away from him but he stepped in front of me, stopping me.
“I never meant to hurt you, Y/N. It wasn’t fair to you for me stringing you along. I was only thinking of you.”
“Give me a break, Sebastian! You broke up with me then a week later you were seen with some blonde chick!” I yelled.
Sebastian ran a hand through his hair and his shoulders fell. “It wasn’t what the media made it seem like.”
“Did you sleep with her?” I asked, the same question that I had asked him the last time I saw him.
“No,” Seb answered without hesitation.
The same answer he gave me last time.
“I can’t keep having the same fight, Seb. It’s exhausting. I was finally in a good place with myself. I was getting over you then got a phone call telling me you had an accident. My world stopped. I thought you were seriously hurt, Sebastian. The second I saw you, all those feelings came back.”
He stuffed his hands deep in his sweat pockets and shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know what you want me to say, Y/N.”
“Do you think we could ever go back to how we used to be?” I asked.
This time, Sebastian hesitated. “I don’t know. My brain is still so fucked from my fall today. It’s hard remembering some things.”
I nodded, reluctantly getting my things together before walking away. “Let me know when you do know, Seb.”
The same heartbreak I felt a year ago resurfaced as I realized that Sebastian was letting me walk out of his apartment and out of his life; again.
My T.V played a soft tune in the background as I browsed through my phone, trying to let another boring day pass. My fingers had a mind of their own as I typed away a certain username on Instagram, wanting to know what he was up to.
Nothing new.
No posts or stories.
Sebastian had been M.I.A on instagram for over a month now, since before his accident.
And since the last time we had seen each other.
We both had no contact with each other, not knowing where we stood. Or even in there was something between us to hold us together. I knew it in my heart that even though how we ended was terrible, I still wanted to be with Sebastian. I wanted to be like how we used to be but there was a doubt lingering in my mind; would he want the same? Would he even feel the same?
The clock on the wall struck midnight, the chimes sounded loud bouncing off the walls of my small apartment.
A soft groan left my lips as I stood up and started making my way towards my bedroom, however, a persistent knock on the door locked my feet in place.
My eyes darted to the bat that laid against the wall next to the door. Who was at my door in the middle of the night?
“Y/N?”
His deep but yet soft voice immediately eased my fear. Before I could even second guess my decision, I found myself opening the door.
Sebastian stood in front of me, his hair way more fluffier than the last time I saw him. The stubble on his face had grown in and I smiled at the few grey hairs peeking its way through. He looked distraught, his thoughts keeping himself up the last few nights.
He let out a few deep sighs, hesitating a few times, something deep on his mind.
We both stared at each other for a few moments, the lust and love that we felt when we were together clouding around us. It encased us in our own bubble and without a second thought, Sebastian was crossing the threshold attacking my lips with his own.
My hands gripped his hips while his own found their way through my hair, gently pulling on the roots. The kiss was one of those ‘hungry, teeth smacking, and lip biting’ kisses; the kind that made your head spin and insides melt.
Reluctantly, we broke apart to take a breath but not before Seb placed another chaste kiss on my lips.
“I know the way I ended things was a dick move and I should have broken up with you in person.”
My vision was still blurry from the kiss so all I could do was nod.
“If you still want me, I’m here. If you want me out of your life for good, just say the word and I’m gone. But if that kiss means anything to you as it did to me, I know that I’m right where I need to be.”
“Lock the door,” I mumbled against his lips. “We have a year of catching up to do.”
My giggles sounded throughout the apartment when I felt Seb toss me over his shoulder, carrying me up the stairs towards my bedroom.

<< Part 2
Since you moved in with the boys, they work together like a well-oiled machine.
Fury wanted to know your secret, but this is something you’ll never share.
Unbeknownst to you, Bucky and Sam, Fury already found out why your roommates work better together.
He saw the footage from their office and more than one from your shared loft.
Someone sneaked into your home, installed cameras, and filmed you anytime you had sex with one of your roommates – or both.
“Sam,” you gasp, looking at Sam between your legs. He has you on the edge of an orgasm but won’t let you fall. “We got no time. Fury wanted an emergency meeting this morning, with all of us.
“Yeah?” he looks up at you, smirking as you admire his face, covered in your slick. “I’m just having a snack before we go, babe,” Sam grins, diving back in to wrap his lips around your oversensitive clit.
“Ah, fuck – Sam!” you cry, grinding against his face. “Please, I need a shower, fix some papers, and make a few calls,” you say, breathlessly. “Let me cum, please.”
“Alright, lemme just-“ Sam slides three fingers inside of your cunt, presses his fingertips against the roof of your vagina. “I’m gonna make you cum now and we have a shower together. I wonder why Fury called you in the middle of the night…”
“So sexy,” Sam kisses your sweet spot, leaves open-mouthed kisses along your neck. “What are we doing here, Y/N? I’m not complaining but is this something serious or just fun?”
“Honestly,” you turn around to face Sam, running your loofah over his chest, “I don’t know. All I can tell you is that I never did something like this before with two men. When I’m with you and James, I feel-“
“Complete,” he whispers, stopping your hands from cleaning his body. “Y/N, we need to talk about this. I don’t think Bucky can lose someone else. He already lost so much.”
“I’m not here to break your hearts,” you touch Sam’s cheek, just looking up at him for a moment. “I like you both, a lot. Right now, I can’t call it love yet, but if I would ever fall in love with someone again, it would be you and him…”
“Doc carries her own package, huh?” Bucky wonders, flipping through the pages of your file. “Did we find out who the douche breaking her heart was?”
“Not so loud,” Sam tuts. “After what she told me this morning, I asked a friend to dig a bit deeper. Sharon said Y/N left her former job, a well-paid position as someone broke her heart.”
“What do with the information now? I don’t think she wants us to stick our noses into her-“ Bucky bites his tongue when you walk into the living room.
“Ready?” you ask, brows furrowed in a silent question. “What? Do I have something on my face? Damn, is there a visible bite mark at my neck?”
“No, you just look so sexy in your professional outfit, doll,” Bucky grins, holding out his hand. “Do we have to go to the office today?”
“Fury said it’s important, James,” you tut. “Let’s be professional for once, okay. I know you hate meetings, but this is unavoidable.”
“Why is this woman here?” Bucky eyes the foreign woman warily, not missing you squirm in your seat. “Something wrong, doc?”
Sam can see a hint of fear flash across your face before you clear your throat.
“This is Sarah Murphy, our expert for, let’s say internal affairs,” Fury huffs, hating he must have this specific conversation with you. “Let’s get this over with, Ms. Murphy.”
“Director Fury asked me to be here today to make sure whatever we discuss, stay within these walls. I can assure you, the material we will show to you, will not leave this room either and no one but Director Fury saw the footage.”
“Footage?” you furrow your brows, confusion is written all over your face and you clutch your hands to your chest in attempt to calm your racing heart. “Did you spy on one of us?”
“None of us spied on you, Doctor Y/L/N. I always appreciate your hard work. Sadly, someone sent us this,” Fury points at the laptop Sarah Murphy placed on the desk. “I want you to watch the footage, all of it. Ms. Murphy and I will leave the room meanwhile.”
“I don’t understand,” you panic, grasping for Sam’s hand to squeeze it tightly. “Why do you want us to watch videos?”
“I must tell you before we leave the room, that someone sent us the footage, along with a few demands,” Fury stands, gives Sam a curt nod before he turns to leave the room. “In other words, someone tries to extort us. I will tell you about the details later.”
When it’s only you and your roommates you look at the laptop, afraid to watch whatever someone filmed. “I don’t want to watch this.”
“We must,” Sam says, breaking the tension, just pressing play. “Whoever filmed us or one of us will pay for it.”
“Maybe it’s not that bad,” Bucky tries, metal hand balled into a fist. “Maybe that bastard only filmed me doing push-ups or-“
The first thing you recognize is your hoarse voice, and the slap of skin against skin. Your eyes widen in horror when you watch yourself getting fucked by Sam while you watch Bucky jerk off and later on, covering your body with his cum.
“No,” your body starts to tremble, and you can barely feel the hand touching yours when the scene changes to another video.
It’s in the kitchen this time, you bend over the kitchen island, Bucky’s hands hold you down by your shoulders while he fucks you roughly, calling you his whore.
“No-no-no-“ Bucky stops the video, clicks on the next one. This time you get fucked in their office, not days ago. “Stop this, Bucky-“ you cry, hiding your face in the palm of your hands. “Someone invaded our privacy just like that.”
“Baby doll,” slamming his metal fist into the laptop, destroying it on his way Bucky feels his chest tightening. He knows how it feels to have no privacy. “I will rip whoever did this to you apart.”
“So someone filmed us at our home and sent it to Fury. Then the same person filmed us at our office and did the same again,” Sam tries to not freak out. He hates you choke out sobs, desperate to forget about what you just saw. “But why?”
“We should ask Fury,” you whisper, not fighting Bucky when he brings you in his arms to cradle you gently. “Sam, you should talk. I-I can’t right now and Bucky, he’s too mad.”
“I’ll go get Fury,” Sam swallows thickly. He slowly gets up to kiss your hair softy, hand gently smoothing over your arm. “We will handle this, baby. No one is going to see this ever again.”
“We-We looked hot, at least,” you try to laugh, but choke on your tears instead. “I hate someone did this to us. It’s not only about me, but you and Bucky too, Sam. How dare them?”
“I’m going to kill them,” Bucky growls. “Rip them apart, limp by worthless limp…”
“Do we know who did this?” Sam asks while you sit between Bucky and Sam, not meeting Fury’s eyes. “Director?”
“I need to get this off my chest, doctor,” Fury sighs. “Whatever you do in your free time, is up to you.”
You nod, still not looking up. “Do we have a name or a reason why?”
“Sergeant Barnes, this has nothing to do with you, if you would just calm down,” Bucky starts to pace the room, jaw ticking, hands balled into fists. “I know you were on the footage too, but according to my information it’s all about the shield and the title.”
“Wait—what?” you gape at Fury, feeling a cold shiver run down your spine. “No way! You can’t be serious! Someone wants the title and Sam’s shield?”
“I’m afraid so,” Fury says, watching Sam run his hand over your hair. “We will do anything to help you, though.”
“What if Sam doesn’t give it to them? What did they say will happen?” Bucky asks, watching Fury lean back in his chair. “That bad?”
“Whoever is after the shield threatens to leak the footage. Doctor Y/L/N would lose her job. She would be compromised,” Fury explains. “I can’t say what would happen to your uh-“
“I don’t have a career and give a shit on my reputation, but we can’t let anything happen to Y/N and her job,” Bucky grunts. “What can we do to find them?”
“John Walker,” you whisper, glancing at Fury. “It can only be him – right?”
“Who is John Walker? I never heard of him before,” Sam watches you focus your attention toward Fury, not answering his question. “Y/N? What’s wrong?”
“If it’s John, we got to be careful. I know he wanted to become the next Captain, not accepting the gentleman’s agreement between Sam and Captain Rogers. I know some people at the government would like to see that man wield the shield, but we won’t allow him to do so,” you stand, straighten your skirt before you look Fury straight in the eyes. “I quit.”
“Doll, just wait a minute. Let’s talk about this,” while Bucky tries to stop you from throwing everything you worked so hard for away while Sam silently watches the change in your posture.
“What is else do we want to discuss, James? That bastard won’t stop, okay. He wants the shield but won’t get it.”
“I give it to him if this saves your career and reputation,” Sam offers. “Steve hand the shield to me, believing I’ll do the right thing. He would’ve done the same to save you.”
“No,” you slam your fist onto the table, making Sam jump. “If you don’t want to wield the shield, fine by me but we will not let anyone take it away from you.”
“What about your job?” you don’t give in. Looking at Sam you give him a weak smile. “Y/N?”
“Fury, tell that bastard he can go and leak anything he wants to. I’m an adult and had sex with two men I love. This is not a crime. If he wants to ruin my career, so be it. He can go and shove it up to his ass.”
“I did not expect anything else from you, doctor,” Fury chuckles, admiring you give a shit on John Walker’s threat.
“Just give me an hour to get back home. I don’t want to answer any questions today. Let hell come over me – tomorrow…” your head held up high you walk toward the door, grasping for the door handle before you look over your shoulder. “Are you coming, guys?”
“We can’t let that bastard get away with this,” Bucky points at the TV. An hour after Fury told Walker he can fuck his deal, named man leaked all the videos he took of you and your roommates.
“Hill did her best to take all the videos down. Luckily, she found the server with the original files. She also marked the files and tries to locate any copy,” Sam explains.
He watches you sit in your favorite armchair, snuggled in a warm blanket you just look at the wall. “She just lost her career only as we couldn’t keep our hands to ourselves and tried to get rid of her, Sam.”
“I know.”
“I will find and kill John Walker. He will pay for hurting Y/N,” Bucky crosses his arms over his chest, watching you brush a single tear off your cheek.
“So, we're partners?”
“Co-workers. Not necessarily a team, but we will team up to avenge, Y/N.”
“Sounds like a good plan,” Bucky holds out his hand.
“Sounds like a good plan,” shaking Bucky’s hand Sam smirks. “Now let’s find John Walker and show him what happens if he hurts someone we care about.”
“Finally-“ you walk toward your roommates, smiling softly. “Took you long enough to admit you like each other.” you walk toward your bedroom, smiling to yourself. “Did you find all the hidden cameras?”
“Yes. Why?” cocking his head Sam looks at you. “Y/N?”
“You know, I don’t have to be up early in the morning any longer,” you smirk. “You can keep me awake all night long…”
“Doll,” Bucky purrs, eyes drifting toward your ass. “Ready if you are…”
“Hey, I told you she’s mine,” following you hot on your heels Sam calls Bucky’s name. “Hands off!”
“How did Y/N know it was Walker?” Maria looks at the leaked footage, clenching her jaw. “Director?”
“Do you remember when I told you she quit her last job? I told you that someone made her leave, it was Walker,” Fury explains.
“Doctor Y/L/N doesn’t seem like someone just giving up on her career for a man,” Maria wonders. “There is more – right?”
“They were a pair for years, even wanted to marry but then, he changed. After the blip happened he became a different man. And since Steve Rogers and the Avengers undid the blip, Walker wanted to become the next Captain and turned into a possessive man on a mission.”
“Sounds like the perfect partner,” nodding thoughtfully Maria looks at her boss. “What happened?”
“Y/N tried to make Walker see he was in the wrong, that the end doesn’t always justify the means. She ended up in hospital with two broken ribs and a concussion.”
“She walked out on him I assume.”
“John Walker doesn’t like rejection in any way. This is the opportunity he was waiting for. He ruined Y/N’s career and aims for his next target—the shield in Sam Wilson’s hands…”
