A Pleasant Ruse
Fandom: Supergirl
Characters: Kara Danvers, Lena Luthor, Andrea Rojas, Alex Danvers, Winn Schott
Summary: Lena runs into her ex-Andrea who wants her back. Lena panics and tells her that Kara is her girlfriend. Will Kara be willing to help Lena keep up the ruse?
Lena looked at her phone and sighed as she walked down the street. L-Corp stock was down again after Lex’s latest stunt against Superman. The Board was at each other’s throats about what to do. Normally, these things didn’t get to her, but today she just felt like curling into a little ball and hiding in the middle of nowhere.
“Sometimes I wish I could go somewhere where no one knew my name,” muttered Lena.
Normally, she would wallow in her apartment and drink the night away, but she knew she didn’t have to do that anymore, especially with Kara and her friends. She blushed when she thought of Kara. Every time she smiled, it would light up the room. She was hoping a little of that light would rub off on her today. When she called Kara an hour ago, she was happy that she was available to talk but was wondering if Lena would be able to do so at Noonan’s. She was saving seats for some of the others in their friend group. Lena would rather they be alone, but she realized that she did call Kara out of the blue without necessarily considering her current plans. Also, her curiosity was piqued. Noonan’s wasn’t normally opened passed 10 p.m. during the week. However, it was currently 10:39 p.m.
After five more minutes, she began to see the outline of Noonan’s but was surprised to see not only was the place lit up, but there were multiple cars parked down the block. As she got closer, she noticed that the place was packed. It was more crowded than the morning rush. When she got inside, Lena looked around the crowded room and smiled when she saw Kara hopping up and down waving at her from the back. She shook her head and tried to maneuver her way towards Kara.
As she got closer, she nearly stopped and blushed. Lena didn’t notice before because she could only see Kara’s face and arms when she was at the front of the restaurant, but now that she was in front of the blonde, she was surprised at what she was wearing. She had on a green short-sleeved crop top, black short shorts, and brown hiking shoes. Her hair was flowing down her back. The entire outfit highlighted Kara’s muscular form. Kara usually wore things that covered her fully. She didn’t realize that Kara had a hardcore twelve-pack abs, and toned legs and arms. She gulped when Kara hugged her tightly. She could feel the heat in her face growing. Lena had to fight to keep her arms next to her instead of caressing her abs.
“Lena, I am glad that you were able to come out!” exclaimed Kara excitedly.
“Me too,” squeaked Lena.
As they went to sit down, Kara stared at her with a frown.
“Are you ok? Your face looks a little flushed and you are panting.”
Lena tried to seem unfazed but felt like her brain was in overdrive.
She started fanning herself and shakily said, “I’m, um, fine. Yes, I am fine.”
Kara stared at her hesitantly and said, “You don’t seem so sure.”
Lena let out a nervous laugh and said, “Don’t worry. I just got winded trying to get back here. I don’t think I have ever seen this place so packed before, even during their morning rushes.”
“Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that they are having an event here tonight. You know the author Helena Bromfield?”
Lena nodded and said, “Ah, yes! She has a bunch of popular action books.”
“Yup! That is the one. Well, she is having a book reading for her latest novel: Alana and the Lost Civilization of Atlantis at midnight tonight. She will then host a Q&A followed by a book signing. That is why a lot of the people here are in costume.”
Lena looked around and felt a little foolish. She had been so focused on seeing Kara that she didn’t notice the outfits everyone was wearing. They all looked like they were out of some archeological action movie. Lena shook her head and stared back at Kara.
“I never took you as one that was into cosplaying. You look very good as Alana.”
Lena felt her face flushed again and looked down.
Good doesn’t begin to describe it. She looks sexy as hell.
Lena had to slowly breathe in and out to try to control her racing heart. Lena had secretly been a fan of Bromfield’s work. Her mother always disapproved of sci-fi and fantasy. Her thoughts were living in reality was more important than make-believe. However, the books offered her a brief escape from all the trauma of that household, mostly done by Lex. She would imagine going on an adventure with the Great Alana as she explored distant worlds and planets. She recently had been fantasizing about Kara as Alana and whisking her off on an amazing adventure. The thought caused her to blush harder.
Can’t believe I get to live out part of my fantasy!
Kara chuckled while rubbing the back of her neck and said, “Thanks! I wasn’t sure if I could pull this off.”
Lena stared at her dumbfounded.
She thinks she couldn’t pull it off! She looks ten times better than the initial character description for Alana. I am surprised that guys and girls aren’t flocking to her now!
Lena cleared her throat and said, “You pull off the look amazingly. I’m surprised the other people cosplaying as Alana don’t look at you with envy.”
Kara blushed while laughing.
“You are too kind.”
They looked at each other shyly for a moment before Lena asked, “If the book reading doesn’t start until midnight, why are people here so early?”
“Good seating. Alex made me promise to get here at 9 to save seating for her and Winn since they wouldn’t be able to get here until after 11. I got here at 10, and I had to fight people in order to get this booth since it was so packed.”
Lena chuckled which caused Kara to frown.
“What’s so funny?” pouted Kara.
“I didn’t mean to laugh. It is just that I wished I had gotten here sooner to see you try to defend your territory.”
Kara chuckled and said, “It didn’t get nearly as dramatic as that. I just gave a very stern look until they backed off.”
Lena raised an eyebrow and said coyly, “Really? A stern look?”

a/n: it's the end of the day for me but i give you this. (oh and please can you send me some sam arias fic, if you find it, please?)
Tumblr media
*not my GIF*
Sam Arias x Speedster!Reader; Ruby Arias x Female!Reader (platonic); Alex Danvers x Female!Reader
Summary: after a bad mission a certain you gain an admirer
Type: Fluff
Warning: mention of dead poeple (Reign is not soft)
word count: ~1297
--------
You recently moved on with your girlfriend, Samantha, and her daughter, Ruby. The little girl liked you a lot and was overjoyed when her mother announced her.Everything was very peaceful; to be honest, since you became who you are now, the two girls have been your safe haven. Even if you could run fast, you wished you could pause time whenever you were with them.But recently something felt wrong, and Sam seemed strange; it all started when she said she would go on a trip, but when she came back, she didn't remember. At first, you thought she was just tired, but things like this happened more, and the cherry on top was a new villain, a Kryptonian named Reign.
Today, Sam promised you she would be home early to spend the evening with you and Ruby, so you waited for her even if her daughter was too exhausted and went to sleep. It was past midnight when she came back. She was sound and safe, but something was weird; she seemed disconnected. "Sam?" you asked, and she looked at you puzzled.
"Y/n, what are you doing up? It's late," she said.
"I know, I've been waiting for you for like 3 hours," you replied dryly. She examined your angry face, then her eyes traveled to the table when she saw an empty champagne bottle. Thankful for your speedster's metabolism, you don't get drunk easily.
"Did I forget something?" she asked shyly, and you scuffed,
"Did you—are you okay, Sam?" you asked, annoyed by her attitude.
"Are you angry?" she asked carefully.
"Me? No, but her, yes" you replied, and she looked to the staires "She waited for you. You promised to be here tonight, Sam, not just for us but also for her. Honnestly I wouldn't be mad if it just missed a date, but we talk about Ruby." you said, and despite all your effort, she could hear the anger in your tone
"I'm sorry, Y/n I swear. It's just been so chaotic lately that I'm not sure what happened." She explained that while she took a step toward you, but you took a step back.
"I'm not the one to whom you should apologize," you replied, and you started to walk to your shared bedroom. She followed you, but she was confused when she saw you take a blanket and a pillow and leave the room.
"Where are you going, love?" she asked, and her voice cracked
"I have to work early tomorrow; I'll sleep on the couch until you talk with her. Good night, Samantha," you replied, and you headed to the living room.
The next morning, when Sam woke up, she was met by cold sheets by her side. She looked at the clock: 8:37 a.m. 'Shit' she thought. She quickly prepared herself, made her way to the kitchen, and found a note on the counter:
'I dropped Ruby at school. You can pick her up if you want to apologize. Good day, Samy'
She smiled at herself when she recognized your handwriting; of course you were upset with her, but it was the first time you called her Samy since she came back last night. Fortunately for you, Sam freed her sheldush and spent the afternoon with Ruby. On their way home, they decided to buy pizza—a lot of pizzas. It's not easy to calm the appetite of a speedster. At home, Ruby turned on the TV, and she quickly called her mom.
"From the information we received, the superhero Purple Lighting had been attacked by three men. She's not in danger, but her doctor is concerned about her health, and Supergirl appears to be nowhere after her defeat against Reign last night," the journalist said. Sam started to worry; she knew you were able to heal faster than any other human, but from the pictures they show, they didn't miss you.
Ruby noticed her mom was crying when her phone rang. She held it up to her mom and muttered, 'It's Alex'.
"Alex, tell me she's okay now," she demanded.
"She'll be fine; we'll bring her in two hours, don't worry. She could be a little fuzzy, but it's okay, she's alright." Alex replied. Two hours later, she kept her promise, and you were with your two favorite girls again.
"Hey girls, I'm home," you exclaimed when you came back. They broke your leg, some limbs, and your left wrist.
"Y/n!" Ruby greeted you with a hug, but of course she made sure not to touch your bandages.
"Hi, little princess. I missed you too," you replied while you ran your hand over her hair. Sam walked just after, and she started to cry. "Hey Samy. I'm sorry," you apologized. She shook her head and hugged you just after her daughter stepped aside. Her grip was firmer than usual, but that didn't bother you. You knew she was worried, so it was okay.
"I thought you were dead," she confessed. "Oh no, Arias, you should do more than that if you want to kill me," you said as you caressed her cheek. "And I can't leave you now; I have to marry you and cry with you when Ruby goes off to college," you joked. And the little Arias gasped.
"Wait, did you just?" she asked. and you played the dumb
"What? I don't know what you're talking about," you said, and she laughed. During your interaction with Ruby, you didn't note that her mother's eyes turned darker for a moment and she was focusing on your heartbeat to make sure you were okay. "I don't know about you, but I'm hungry," you exclaimed, and they led you to the couch. You spent the night with your favorite girls; Sam made up for the last night, and you were happy to see the smile on Ruby's face.
A few hours later, your girlfriend assisted you in cleaning, changing your clothes, and cleaning everything in your room. "Hey Samy baby, please come rest with me," you pouted, and she smiled,
"OK." She made her way to the bed and lied beside you. She examined your wounds. "Is it painful now?" she asked, and you nodded.
"Yeah, but don't worry, tomorrow I will be alright again." You kissed her. "Now come, I need to cuddle to forget this awful day," you whispered, and she carefully placed you on top of her. "I love you, Sam," you said softly.
"I love you too Y/n. Now rest," she said quietly, and you were fast asleep a few minutes later.
The next morning, you were woken up by your phone. You looked at the screen; it was Alex at 9 a.m.
"Hey Alex." You said,
"Sorry to bother you, but we have an update for the guys from yesterday." She replied,
"Oh," you were now fully awake. "Tell me, who are they?"
"That's the problem. We found their clothes and their weapons, but we didn't find them. At least not in one piece. It seems like Reign just burned them with her heat vision," she said, and you felt a knot in your throat.
"But why?" you asked, confused. "Since she destroyed Supergirl, why would she avenge another vigilante?" You added,
"We don't know, but I will call you if I have more information." She said, and she hung on.
You were about to leave when you noticed a note on the bed on Sam's side.
'It was just a threat for anyone who would want to attack you again ;)'
You frowned your eyebrows, and on the right corner, you noticed Reign's logo. You let out a nervous chuckle.
"So, does a Kryptonian who annihilated Kara seem to have a soft spot for me?" you asked no one, "Oh sh*t Y/n, you'll be in trouble."

“Alex!”
(This idea had been hunting me since forever. I was inspired by the “dragon/tiger face mask” I saw while I was walking along the beauty section of a store... and i thought OH MY GOD WHAT IF ALEX—?! aaaand finally, I was able to put it into words haha)
Alex Danvers x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Alex Danvers doesn’t make an effort about skin care.
Two years and three months ago, when she bumped on you (yes, she—not you) in front of a coffee shop, you had been in love with Alex ever since. Well, not in love-in love, just... attracted since you don’t really believe in love at first sight. It is just pure crap the capitalist society put up to romanticize love even more.
Now, you’ve been each other’s girlfriend for over a year, and had been living together for about two months now. Living with Alex seems to be an entirely weird yet exciting thing for you. You’ve never reached this far in a relationship. You’ve always liked living alone, you even moved out of your parents the minute you turned 18—well, there’s really no difference since you’ve been practically raising yourself since 14 years old.
Before, you were used to going home to an empty apartment. Now, during those days when Alex had Supergirl cases and had to stay in the DEO longer than usual, going home to an empty apartment makes you feel incredibly alone and sad. A part of you panics whenever you feel like that, since it shows how you’ve become very much dependent on others.
Alex says there’s nothing wrong in needing others. And you—somehow—believe her.
It’s Tuesday night. Alex called you during lunch time, saying she’ll be going home late. Instinctively, you pouted. Thank the cosmos you were in your car when that happened.
You opened the door of the apartment. You didn’t even notice that the door was unlocked. The meeting Lena forced you to attend with her drained the living daylights out of you. Those incredibly hetero-patriarchal crocodiles Lena calls the company’s stockholders are just life suckers. Whenever one of the suited un-gentlemen opens their mouth, a new wave of headache resonates throughout your body, making you struggle to repress a whimper of pain. It makes you wonder, are they even aware they were talking?
You closed the door behind you, another hand going to your forehead. You can’t wait to lie down and just sleep it off. For some, it may be unhealthy, but drinking painkillers was always your last resort. You were raised to believe that ointments, eucalyptus/menthol inhalers, and lots of water cure headache. You don’t need painkillers poisoning your blood just so you could have a few moments of relief from the pain. It was one thing you and Alex always argue about—her being a huge believer of medicines and all that.
“Y/n.” You immediately looked up. The moment you did, you screamed.
Alex took a step back. You were just looking at her, with big eyes, taking in her appearance.
You didn’t expect Alex to be here so early—which was a part of why you screamed. The bigger part was because of Alex’s face.
You didn’t exactly see her face. It was covered with face mask.
An otter designed face mask.
Alex’s whole body was stunned, probably because she didn’t expect you to react that way.
Since when does she wear face mask?
An otter designed one at that?
After a few seconds of staring, you snorted then started laughing. Your headache was gone by now, (Take that factory-produced medicines! Take that Alex!) and you can’t take your eyes off your girlfriend. Your heart was turning into mush with how cute she looks, especially when her stunned eyes were the only part of her face visible from the mask. There were cuts on the face masks that enables it to adjust—along the nose and on the mouth.
Alex makes a really really cute otter.
You feel your heart getting big, with how adorable your girlfriend looks. You did always tease her that she would make a really cute otter, especially when she’s angry. She just huffs and pouts whenever you tease her, which just proves your point even more. Even though she’s a badass black ops agent, whenever you’re around (and this just makes you want to hold your girlfriend forever and not let her go), Special Agent Alexandra Danvers turns into a domestic otter that just clings to your arms the entire time.
“Stop laughing!” You heard Alex exclaim. You’re in the middle of hard laughing, one where you’re just gasping for air mid-laugh. You shook your head, pulled out your phone, and took a picture of your otter girlfriend.
“You look so cute!” you squealed, then proceeded on making the picture of a frowning otter Alex your wallpaper.
“Delete that, Y/n!” Alex shouted. You looked at her, still smiling widely, and raised both of your eyebrows, indicating how you wouldn’t. You finally walked further to the apartment and fell into step beside your girlfriend.
“Smile for the cam!” you said, then took a picture of the both of you. “Oh, this is gonna be on Superfriends group chat!!!” you said, slightly jumping in your place.
“NO!” Alex made a move to grab your phone. You held it away, facing her, and stared at her sternly.
“Hey! Stop making big moves, your mask might fall off,” you said sternly. That made Alex freeze. She slightly tilted her head, and rearranged the wet mask on her face. “Bad otter.” You can’t help but tease her. Alex looked at you and glared. You’ve been constantly nagging her to try face masks, because it makes a good stress reliever and just rejuvenates the skin. Not that you were implying that Alex was looking ragged down... well, that was certainly what you were implying. She needs the mask desperately—though, she’s not any less beautiful even if she doesn’t use one.
“I am never wearing face masks. Ever. Again. I hate you for nagging me to wear one.” Her grumpy voice and slightly frowning face cannot be taken seriously because the otter mask was still there. You suppressed the laughter bubbling out of you and went to hug her from the back, since she was walking away. You rested your chin on her shoulder and just hugged her tightly.
“But... otter...” you pouted. Alex just huffed. Then, placed both of her arms and hands over yours. It was supposedly a sweet gesture, but it was too late when you realized it was tighter than normal—holding you in place. She leaned back slightly, then placed her cheek on yours, making you gasp in surprise. The slimy substance from the mask rubbed on your face. Before you can say anything else, she was peppering the left side of your face with kisses, further spreading the slimy substance of the face mask to your face. The slimy substance was the one thing you hate from face masks.
She slightly shifted, and then a hand was placed on your right cheek, preventing you from moving away.
All you can do was let out a strangled cry.
“Alex!”

If you're still accepting prompts #5 for supercorp?? Please.. no pressure.. have a good day!!!
When Kara gets an invitation to Andrea’s latest art gala, her friends all reach an unanimous decision to RSVP “no fucking chance” via every available avenue.
It would have been creative, really, and impressive—that is, if Nia hadn’t gotten banned from the post office as a result. So in the end it was just a nice thought, if a misguided one; really, Kara is used to Andrea’s antics by now. They had broken up two months ago, but Andrea seemed intent on showing off every chance she could that she had moved on. Kara has never accused her of doing it to be cruel, but she has to admit, sometimes she fantasizes about showing up to one of Andrea’s events with someone else to show she has moved on as well. Just, you know, to even the score. (If they were keeping score).
But she shows up dateless all the same, and everyone is still aghast she showed up at all, but Kara has always been a firm believer of taking the high road even if Andrea won’t. And Alex tags along, if only to glower at Andrea any chance she gets, until she gets distracted by a pretty girl at the bar and Kara ends up alone just as she anticipated.
Well, she consoles herself, at least the buffet is always here to keep her company.
“Excuse me,” a sudden voice to her right suddenly interrupts the slow-motion movie in Kara’s head that has focused mostly on cream puffs. “Are you Kara Danvers?”
“Yeah?” Kara adjusts her glasses and squares her shoulders, already prepared to face the person Andrea has sent to be her “greeter”—she has a habit of sending someone to escort Kara to personally come say hi to her and her new girlfriend, as if she’s too busy to come across the room herself.
“I thought I recognized you,” says the stranger before her. “I’m Lena, I’m—”
“Andrea’s friend,” Kara fills in the blanks, slightly stunned. “Hi.” She’d heard about Lena Luthor, the mysterious boarding schoolmate turned actress, but had never met her before.
“I always meant to come introduce myself, but…” Lena trails off, and the unspoken but then Andrea broke up with you remains unsaid. “Anyway, I’m sorry. I don’t know why I came over here, I was…”
“Curious?” Kara offers, and she feels the corner of her mouth twitch with the effort to withhold a self-pitying laugh. “I know, it’s weird. Here I am, at my ex’s party, just trying to stock up on as much free food as I can. I understand if you want to call security.”
Lena Luthor has a very stoic demeanor which must be a product of practiced professionalism, but when Kara says that, a laugh kind of erupts from her mouth; it’s simultaneously undignified and endearing all at once. “Oh, God, I’m sorry—I just, I have no doubt you don’t want to be here. I know Andrea makes it her mission to flaunt her success to everyone.”
“I guess,” Kara shrugs, “but I could have said no.”
“No, you couldn’t have,” Lena disagrees, and her eyes are undoubtedly searching as they meet Kara’s, her gaze heavy but warm. “I’ve been there, I know what she’s like.”
Kara tugs at the knot of her tie, suddenly wishes it were a bit looser, and then sighs. “Yeah,” she says quietly. “Sometimes I wish I could give her a taste of her own medicine, you know? To—” And then it dawns on her. It’s something Alex would thump her over the head for, and it’s the kind of idea that Nia would wholeheartedly agree on. “Hey. Are you single?”
Lena gives her an odd look. “What?”
“Wait, that’s not what it sounds like,” Kara is quick to assure her. “I meant—if you’re single, and willing, would you maybe want to pretend you’re my girlfriend?”
“Me?” Lena has very green eyes, mesmerizingly green really, and it’s hard for Kara to even form words when they’re trained on her. “That feels kind of…petty.”
Kara deflates. “You’re right,” she mumbles. “I’m sorry, I—”
“Kara, there you are.” Winn, who must be the unfortunate courier of bad news this evening, arrives short of breath. “Andrea wanted me to tell you hi for her. Or, er, she wants me to invite you to…say hi to her? I don’t even know what she’s asking.”
“We do,” Lena cuts in, and before Kara can even blink, there is a hand holding hers, intertwined fingers and all; Lena smiles sideways at her, just about level in her heels, and her smile is so stunningly pretty that Kara can only blink back in response. “Shall we, darling?”
“Um,” Kara says very ineloquently in response, and Winn’s eyes just about pop out of his head. “Okay.”
It is very strange to hold someone’s hand, Kara decides, when you don’t know the person. Lena’s hand is soft and just edging on cold, as if she’d been outside too long before arriving, and all Kara can do is agonize over whether her hand is sweaty.
Andrea is waiting by the orchestra, quite predictably, with her new girlfriend and acting as if she hadn’t expected Kara to walk up to her at all. “Kara, hi,” she says, and normally this is the time she would schmooze and smile without teeth, batting her eyes and stressing how nice it is that Kara could make it. But when she spots Lena—namely, Lena holding Kara’s hand—her smile freezes on her face. “Lena, I didn’t know you were coming. We didn’t see your RSVP.”
Lena tilts her head just so, smiling just bright enough to be polite. “Oh, I’m sorry,” she says, and lets go of Kara’s hand as if practiced to rest against the lapel of her suit jacket. “Kara’s invite had a plus one, so I assumed I could just come with.”
“Of course,” Andrea says tightly. “Though I must say, I didn’t even know you two knew each other.”
“Well, we have you to thank,” Kara says without even thinking, without even forming a story, and judging by the way Lena’s eyebrows raise she is thinking the same thing. “I was, um, working a shoot and Lena was there and she recognized me, from pictures you showed her? So we started talking. And here we are.” Then, because she’s sure she needs to play up the romance, she slides her own hand against Lena’s waist—a mistake for her own sanity, because Lena is in a quite form-fitting red dress and Kara gets a little too distracted when she looks at it.
“You make us sound so dull,” Lena tuts, and her eyes sparkle with a challenge when Kara looks at her. “She won’t admit it, but she was so tongue-tied when we met. Completely head over heels.”
“Okay but who wouldn’t be?” Kara dares her right back, feeling more brazen, and Lena quirks an eyebrow as if intrigued.
“I thought you were cute too, I suppose,” Lena says, and she sways into Kara’s embrace, which causes Kara’s heart to beat embarrassingly quick. “Even if you almost dropped a backdrop on my head.”
“I apologized for that,” Kara plays along, relieved that Lena’s far better at crafting a story; she has never seen Lena act in anything, but knows she has to be Oscar-worthy for this performance alone.
Andrea pointedly clears her throat. “How nice,” she says flatly, looking annoyed, and Kara had nearly forgotten that she’s here.
“Well great party, Andrea,” Kara says. “And thank you for having us, but we have to run—I promised Lena a dance.”
“Lena doesn’t dance,” Andrea says sharply, but Lena is already nodding along with Kara’s excuse.
“What can I say,” Lena says cheerfully, “she brings out the dancer in me.”
Kara has to pretend to cough, then, because that is such an awful line, and Lena pinches her wrist when no one is looking, and really it’s a miracle they manage to get away before Andrea realizes this is all a ruse. In fact, the instant they’re back at the buffet, they exchange a single look and immediately burst into laughter.
“Thank you, for that,” Kara says afterwards, shyly taking a step back when she notices she’s still lingering too close.
“It was your idea, I just brought it to life,” Lena says. “Though you really had me digging for my improv notes, because your storytelling leaves a lot to be desired.”
“I tend to think before I speak sometimes,” Kara admits sheepishly. “Which, uh, I’m sorry about. You know, because the dancing thing…” She pauses. “You don’t have to dance with me though. I’ll just pretend I got an urgent call or something, and Winn can pass on the message that I left.”
“You forget that I’m your date for the evening, now,” Lena warns. “If you leave I’m practically obligated to leave with you.”
“Right, I didn’t think of that.” And with Lena staring back at her, her expression soft and curious, Kara feels brave again. “Well…do you drink coffee?”
“I do,” Lena says, angling just a bit closer, and Kara smiles.
“I know a great coffee shop in the area,” she says. “And they don’t care if we show up looking like this.”
“Are you asking me on an actual date?” Lena bites her bottom lip just coyly enough that Kara knows she’s not opposed to the suggestion, which is what prompts her to respond,
“Yes,” without so much as a pause. “And I can promise I won’t almost-drop anything on your head in this scenario.”
“Well I’d hope so,” Lena says, and Kara laughs, and really it’s the strangest outcome that Kara could have never anticipated. And yeah, it’s as awkward as any first date already, Kara blushing too much and Lena fiddling with her hands as they walk, but—it’s also just about the best night of Kara’s life.
“So why didn’t you RSVP?” Kara thinks to ask, just as they reach the front door, and Lena scrunches her nose in confusion.
“I told my assistant to RSVP for me, I’m not sure what happened,” she says. “I saw her leave to the post office myself.”
“Oh,” Kara says, grimacing. “That wouldn’t have been the one off of 37th street, would it?”
“Yes, actually. How’d you know?”
Kara thinks of Nia’s ban, and the fact that letters are oh-so-flammable, and just shakes her head. “Let’s just say it’s never arriving,” she says, and Lena gives her a confused look, but Kara reaches for her hand again and then everything else kind of fades away.
(Even Alex—who they pass on the way outside—and her shout of, “Kara, what the fuck,” melts into the symphony of car honks and police sirens and shouts of passerby as Kara and Lena disappear into the cool night air).

Agent Danvers - Chapter 8
Series Masterlist
Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
Kara and Alex are sitting beside (Y/n)'s hospital bed.
(Y/n) was asleep, exhausted after the strain her body had just gone through.
There is a soft knock on the doorframe and the Danvers sisters turn, their gazes softening as Yelena and Melina push their heads in the door.
"Do you mind if we trade out?" Melina asks, her eyes glancing to the window before they dart back onto (Y/n)'s sleeping form. "You two should get some rest."
Both Alex and Kara nod. Alex leans over, pressing a kiss to her baby sister's forehead. Kara gives (Y/n)'s hand a squeeze before she and Alex leave (Y/n) with Yelena and Melina.
"I wish you'd wake up," Melina murmurs, taking (Y/n)'s hand and brushing her thumb across her late daughter's girlfriend's hand. Poor girl, Melina thinks, a tear trickling down her cheek. First Natasha, and now her baby.
. . .
A few months had passed, and the two concerned older sisters had convinced (Y/n) to take up a job at the DEO - totally not their way of keeping track of their youngest sister.
(Y/n)'s back hits the mat, and she just lies there for a moment, staring up at her eldest sister.
Alex smiles down at (Y/n), offering her a hand.
(Y/n) shakes her head, taking her sister's hand with a grin.
. . .
"This thing is like state of the state of the art," Winn says, leaning over the table, (Y/n) at his side. "Kind of looks like something my dad might have built in one of his more murdery moments."
(Y/n) glances at her best friend, her lips twitching slightly in a smile.
"I pulled a partial print from the wreckage," (Y/n) says, removing her gloves. "Belongs to John Corben. International assassin for hire. Been linked to Intergang, Kasnian terrorists, and the genocide in Corto Maltese." Jo'on, Alex, and Clark - Superman - all look at the screen while (Y/n) explains. "If you want somebody high-profile killed, this is the guy you hire."
"But who would want Lena Luthor dead?" J’oon asks.
"Hey, where's Kara?" Winn asks.
"She's trying to talk Lena out of going through with the renaming ceremony," Clark replies.
"Something tells me Miss Luthor will be going on with it either way," (Y/n) says with a frown.
"I'll have on the case. This Corben doesn't seem like he cares who gets hurt so long as he gets his target," J'oon says.
"Kara and I will be there, too," Clark says.
. . .
"My brother's serving thirty-two consecutive life sentences," Lena Luthor and Kara walk down the sidewalk. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised there isn't a bigger turnout."
"You're taking an awful risk," Kara says, looking over at Lena, "going ahead with the renaming ceremony with your life in danger."
"I won't have a life if I can't make this company into something positive," Lena replies. "All it will be remembered for is Lex's madness."
. . .
(Y/n) and Alex are standing on opposite sides of the stage, Kara standing at the back of the crowd.
"I want to thank you all for coming," Lena's voice booms through the speakers.
"I'm in the main plaza. No sign of Corben," (Y/n) murmurs into her COMMs.
"My brother hurt a lot of good, innocent people," Lena continues and (Y/n)'s gaze falls on the woman at the podium. "My family owes a debt, not just to Metropolis, but to everyone. I intend to pay that. By renaming my company L-Corp, we will usher in a new age of cooperation and community. Together, we will chart a brighter future."
An explosion rocks the ground, and blows up some of the building as well as the new L-Corp sign.
People scream as they run away from the fire and explosion.
(Y/n) catches sight of Corben walking down the street and follows. "I've got eyes on Corben," (Y/n) says into her COMMs.
"Officer, thank God," Lena says as Corben walks towards her.
Corben lifts his handgun to shoot Lena.
Lena falters, staking a step back.
(Y/n) grabs Corben's arm, lowering it so when he pulls the trigger, it shoots into the sidewalk.
Lena watches with wide eyes as (Y/n) flips over Corben's shoulder, pinning his arm against his back and ripping the handgun out of his hand and the gun hits the ground.
(Y/n) elbows Corben in the face and the man staggers back.
Corben sneaks up behind (Y/n), pulling her into a chokehold.
(Y/n) chokes, straining against the man. She lifts up her legs and rocks herself over, pinning Corben under her.
Corben throws (Y/n) off, and she hits the ground with a pained grown before rising unsteadily to her feet.
Corben pulls out a knife and lunges for (Y/n).
"You do not quit," (Y/n) mutters, dodging the knife and grabbing Corben's shoulder.
(Y/n) knocks Corben to the ground and he rolls, picking up his gun that had fallen to the ground.
Corben picks up the gun, pulling (Y/n) into another chokehold and pressing the gun to her chin.
Kara - now dressed as Supergirl - lands in front of the two. "Let her go," Kara says,
"You're gonna let me out of here," Corben says, moving the barrel of the gun to point at the side of (Y/n)'s head.
"Lex Luthor hired you to kill his sister, didn't he?" Kara asks, leaning forward a little.
(Y/n) struggles in Corben's arms.
"Luthor still has resources and reach," Corben replies, "even rotting in maximum security lockdown." (Y/n) shoots a fearful look at Kara and then at Alex, who had popped up behind Kara. "Now, I'm leaving and there's nothing you can do . . ."
The sound of a gun firing makes (Y/n) flinch violently, but Corben is the one to drop to the ground, dead.
Alex crouches over Corben, inspecting him. "Bullet went through-and-through. But he needs a hospital."
(Y/n) looks behind her, meeting the green eyes of Lena Luthor. (Y/n) swallows thickly, before glancing over at Alex, who had let her concerned gaze rest on (Y/n).
"Nice work, Supergirl," Alex says.
"I had help," Kara nods to Lena and then up to Clark hovering in the air above her.
. . .
Kara and Clark are standing in Lena's office, looking at a paper with the headline "A New Hope for L-Corp."
"Thank you, Mr. Kent," Lena gets up from her office chair and rounding the desk. "This is exactly the kind of press my company needs after yesterday's attack. And thank you for including that part about me shooting the guy. That'll teach Lex to mess with me." Kara and Clark chuckle. "He'll be the laughing stock of Cell Block X."
"Well, that's not exactly why I wrote it," Clark says with a slight smile. "I wrote it because it was the truth. I was wrong about you, Ms. Luthor." He gives her a nod. "I'm sorry."
Lena smiles to herself for a moment before looking up to meet Clark's eyes, "Well, if I can make a believer out of Clark Kent, there's hope yet."
Kara looks down at the ground.
"What about you, Ms. Danvers?" Lena questions, looking over at the blonde. "I didn't see your name on the byline."
"Uh . . ." Kara pauses. "Well, like I said, I'm not a reporter."
"You could have fooled me," Lena replies, studying Kara. Lena moves back around the desk to sit down. "I hope this isn't the last time we talk."
"I hope not either," Kara smiles.
. . .
"Welcome to the DEO, Mr. Schott," J’oon shakes Winn's hand.
"Thank you, Hank, or Director Henshaw. Or was it J'oon, or Martian Manhunter? What's the protocol here?" Winn questions.
(Y/n) smacks Winn gently on the back of the head.
"'Sir' will do just fine," J'oon replies, looking amused.
"Yes, sir, Hank. J’oon, no . . ." Winn says and (Y/n) grins.
"Congratulations, Winn," Kara smiles, dressed in her Supergirl suit.
"It's good to have you officially on the team," Alex approaches from the other side of the room.
"Oh, I was just wondering . . ." Winn says and (Y/n) has an idea what Winn is going ask about, "And this is not a deal-breaker whatsoever, but I had a pretty sweet IRA over at CatCo. Does that transfer over?"
(Y/n) laughs, clapping her best friend on the shoulder.
. . .
"You promised Kara you'd be nice to Clark while he was here," (Y/n) says, leaning against her and Winn's shared desk; Alex makes a grunt in agreement into her coffee.
"I said I would try," Jo'on replies.
"'Do or do not. There is no try'," Winn says and (Y/n) snickers.
"Exactly how bad did you want this job, Mr. Schott?" J’oon questions Winn.
"He'll be leaving town soon, I'm sure," Alex says, walking over to stand beside her boss. "So until then . . ."
(Y/n) sighs with exhaustion as she hears Supergirl whooping through the COMMs.
"I'll be in the armory shooting at something," J'oon says.
"That sounds relaxing," Winn says and (Y/n) giggles.
. . .
(Y/n) is throwing on her bulletproof vest, as she, Alex, and other DEO agents walk through the halls.
"Supergirl," Alex says in her angry sister voice and (Y/n) winces. "We haven't heard from you. We were just leaving to catch the Kigori."
"Oh, we just dropped that little guy in containment," Clark says, exchanging a smile with Kara.
"Yeah," Kara agrees with a grin.
There is an awkward silence and (Y/n) unzips her vest.
"Stand down, guys," Alex says, waving the other soldiers off.
"I'm sorry," Kara says. "Team Krypton was just having hashtag-too-much-fun," both Clark and Kara laugh. (Y/n) raises an eyebrow. "I mean, I've always loved being Supergirl. But today . . ."
"Next time, it would be nice if you followed protocol," Jo'on growls, "and alerted us that an alien combative was no longer a threat. Your cousin may not work for the DEO, but you still do."
Kara pauses. "Sorry," Kara says, shrugging. "We were . . . We were just having . . .
"Hashtag-too-much-fun. Yeah, we know." J’oon replies.
The whole building powers down and everyone looks around, their eyes wide with surprise.
"Uh, energy drain coming from the holding area," Winn appears behind (Y/n). "Again."
The agents, J’oon, Kara, and Clark walk into the holding area, observing the man inside. A green glow making all of them looking sickly pale.
"It started happening last night," (Y/n) tells the other, she - not wanting to return to her empty apartment - had stayed late with Winn to watch over the man recovering in the room.
"All energy resources at the DEO suddenly diverted to him," Alex says, her gaze questioning.
"You're exposing him to Kyrptonite?" Clark asks, turning to Jo'on, but Kara look at her youngest sister, who doesn't meet her gaze. "He's a survivor, not a prisoner."
"It's a precaution," J'oon replies. "We don't know anything about him."
There is a whirring sound and the lights in the patient's room flicker before the power comes back completely.
"Ooh, power is back at one-hundred percent," Winn says, checking his tablet.
"His vitals have jumped again," Alex says, peering over Winn's shoulder. "It's at the same rate as the power drain."
"He's repairing himself at a cellular level?" Clark asks.
"It's like photosynthesis," Alex says, moving to stand in front of the glass. "His cells are absorbing the electrical energy and converting them into chemical energy."
"You should test his levels again. Now that he's . . ." Clark begins but J'oon cuts him off.
"We've got this, Superman," Jo'on says, frowning at the Kryptonian.
"Sure you do," Clark replies, returning the Martian's frown. "I should go," he turns to his cousin.
Kara nods slightly and Clark walks away.
When the Kryptonian is out of earshot, Kara takes a step towards J'oon. "I know you aren't the best of friends, but you promised you'd be nice to him while he's here."
"Yeah, actually he said he would try," Winn says and (Y/n)'s lips twitch.
"How . . . How is it hard to be nice to Superman?" Kara asks, looking between her sisters, Winn, and J'oon. "He's Superman."
"If it means so much to you, we will get along," J'oon replies before he turns, walking out of the lab.
"Thank you," Kara replies. She sighs, and Winn follows his boss out of the room.
"We still on for sister night?" Alex asks her sisters and (Y/n) smiles. "Veep and Chinese?"
"Yeah. Of course," Kara replies.
"I can still bring Liho, right?" (Y/n) asks.
"Yes," Alex smiles.
"Do you know it's Clark's favorite show, too?" Kara asks brightly, looking up at Alex.
"Is Clark coming to sister night?" Alex asks, blinking with surprise.
"Yeah. I mean, he's in town," Kara says. "And he is family."
Alex scoffs, smiling at Kara. "The more the merrier."
(Y/n) doesn't know whether her thoughts are selfish or not, but she felt kind of upset that she wouldn't have her sisters to herself.

So I just finished watching the last season of Supergirl, which made me remember the medieval au I created with a friend a long time ago and decided to find it in my computer's archives. I will most likely never finish the entire story, but it was so much fun writing it that I thought I'd share some of it. It's fluffy and cute, I hope you like it!
An impromptu visit to another sovereign’s castle was the sort of thing that was absolutely frowned upon, but the princess of Jorden had waited enough to hear anything from the royal of the House of El. She was aware of the endless duties Lady Kara had to attend to as commander of the Knights of Krypton, but she couldn’t help the irrepressible need to be close to the blonde. Despite the consequences, she was willing to take the utmost risks to spend any time with the princess of Krypton, however brief. Aided by Barry, one of her most trusted servants, Lena snuck out of the house of Luthor through the lower dungeons, wearing Kara’s cloak over her head. Right by the bridge that separated the castle from the commonwealth, her royal blacksmith and dearest friend Maggie awaited on her horse, wearing a dark cloak on her own.
“Are you certain this is the kind of place to be flaunting that, your Highness?” the blacksmith said to her in a whisper as soon as she saw the green-eyed girl, pointing at the red cloak with her chin.
“It’s the middle of the night,” Lena responded, resting its importance, and holding the crest of the house of El on the cloak closer to her. “As a matter of fact, I’m bringing it with me to give it back.”
Maggie let out a chuckle as she helped her friend get on the horse, and she said, “I believe you’ve been saying that for a long time now.”
“I don’t want to hear it,” Lena replied, thankful that her friend couldn’t notice the pink shade that appeared on her face. “Let’s just go.”
“As you wish, milady,” Maggie said, teasingly, pulling the cord around the horse and heading towards the deep forest that separated the kingdoms of Jorden and Krypton, their only way to avoid the guards at the wall.
“Thank you for doing this,” the princess of Jorden said, sincerely. “I know I’m putting your job at risk.”
“Don’t mention it,” the other girl replied. “If I lose my job, you’ll just have to ask your girlfriend to get me a place in her castle.”
“I think you’re just looking for excuses to be closer to the future queen of Krypton.”
“Oh, that would be marvelous,” Maggie said, unable to avoid the smirk that appeared on her face, placing a hand on the leather strap of the bag over her shoulder. “Those Kryptonian girls had to be so beautiful.”
Lena noticed the bag falling on the right side of the horse, kicking it very softly and colliding with something heavy. She raised an eyebrow. “What have you brought?”
“It is none of your business,” the blacksmith said, keeping her eyes ahead, “but, if you must know, it’s a gift for Princess Alex. I figured that this was the perfect opportunity for such a thing.”
“Did you make another sword for her?” the green-eyed girl asked teasingly, clearly amused.
“No,” Maggie said, rolling her eyes, trying not to think about her last failed attempt at trying to charm the future queen. “It’s a bow and arrow. I saw her competing with your princess the last time we were there. I have never seen a talent like hers in my life before. I just had to make something worthy of her.”
“Oh, Maggie. When did we become these people?”
“Those girls of Krypton, princess. Those girls of Krypton.”
As a result of their time spent with the forest-loving Danvers sisters, they rode through the night until they were deep between the trees, safe from being caught by Jordenian guards, without any fear that the forest would betray them. Maggie set up a fire to keep them warm until the sunrise and set off to sleep, but Lena could barely stay still. She spent the rest of the night staring at the starred sky, waiting for dawn to break. Once it did, the young blacksmith and the princess resumed their journey to the emerald kingdom, only to find Lady Kara’s handsome squire, Winslow Schott, waiting by the entrance of the forest on a beautiful brown horse, the golden emblem of the house of El clearly noticeable over his chest.
“Your highness, Lady Sawyer,” he said solemnly, bowing before both ladies. “Your servant Barry Allen informed of your visit and I am here to ensure your safe arrival to the castle.”
“Barry? How is that even possible?” Lena inquired, quite bewildered. “He was the last person I saw before I left Jorden.”
“He sent a letter with your plans to Sir Olsen in advance, your highness. He said something about being ‘proactive’ and ‘faster than anyone in your guard’, I presume. I assure you, no one else knows you’re here.”
“Well, I am very grateful, Mr. Schott.”
“Please,” the tall man said, offering both girls a shy soft smile. “Call me Winn.”
“Winn, it is, then,” Lena said, returning the smile.
“Winn, do you happen to know the whereabouts of the royals?” Maggie asked, trying to seem nonchalant and failing miserably at it.
“Princess Alexandra went on her morning horse ride with Sir Jonn’z,” Winn replied. “and Lady Kara is at swordfight practice with Sir Olsen. Both princesses should be back at the palace by midday.”
“Perfect,” the dark-haired blacksmith said with a sly smile on her face and she got off the horse, to Lena’s bafflement. She turned to the squire. “Winn, would you be so kind to escort Princess Lena to the castle?”
“Where are you going?” Lena inquired.
Her friend just smirked. “I have my own plans to impress my princess. I’ll find you later—if you’re not too busy, of course.” Lena rolled her eyes as she tried to contain the smile creeping on her face and watched her friend walk away and disappear amongst the people of the kingdom of Krypton.
“Shall we?” the man asked, pulling at the cord around his horse to move forward. The princess of Jorden blinked a couple of times and nodded, pulling at her own horse and riding by his side. The journey to the palace of Krypton wasn’t very long from their starting point, but it seemed endless to the eager green-eyed girl that had been looking forward to seeing the blonde for longer than she was willing to admit. In addition to that, Kara had mentioned her squire countless times in their conversations—she considered him and Sir James Olsen part of her family—and in those conversations, he seemed to be a spirited and charming man. Around her, however, even when she would try to make conversation, Winn appeared impossibly quiet. Miffed, even. She usually wouldn’t mind if a man wasn’t interested in chatting with her, but this was one of the people that the girl she was trying to impress held with the highest regard. She had to try.
“Winn, have I done something to offend you?”
“Pardon, your Highness?” He asked, sounding puzzled.
“Princess Kara never stops speaking of how much of a delight her squire is to be around. Yet, I’ve received nothing but silence and polite words from you. Is it something I did?”
“No, of course not, my lady.”
“What is it, then?”
Winn glanced at her with eyes filled with mistrust, but he was quick to look away as soon as the princess caught his eye. “You’re wearing Princess Kara’s cloak.”
Inevitably, she looked down at the bright red cloth over her hunter-green gown. “Is that an issue?”
“No, it’s just—,” Winn clicked his tongue. “It belonged to King Jeremiah.” His olive-green eyes traveled down to the cloak. “Lady Kara wore it every day of her life ever since the King and the Queen passed away, just as Princess Alexandra does with the Queen’s,” he looked back to the path in front of him. “That, of course, before she met you.”
“I see.”
“And I don’t mean to offend you, your Highness, but I’ve been around for a long time and I know the type of people the royals of Jorden tend to be.”
“Ah, so the issue is that I am a Luthor.”
“I’m just concerned for Lady Kara’s well-being,” the squire responded. “My job is to serve and protect her, after all.”
“I appreciate your honesty, Winn,” the princess said in return. “But rest assured, I care deeply about Kara—I would not be here if it were not that way.”
“As I said, my top priority is Lady Kara’s well-being.”
“As it is mine. You have my word.”
“Very well, then,” Winn said, clearly more at ease. “I must inform you that Lady Kara will be absolutely pleased with your visit.”
“Is that so?” Lena inquired, incapable to contain the grin that appeared across her face.
“She has been unable to talk of much else but you, my lady,” Winn answered, finally returning the smile. “In fact, several knights have asked for a meeting with your Highness to thank you for keeping our Lady Kara in good spirits. She can be quite difficult when she’s in bad temper.”
Lena let out a laugh. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen Lady Kara in bad temper.”
“Oh, you don’t want to, my lady…”
A now comfortable conversation carried on as they arrived at the castle, making a quick stop for Lena to pick up a flower and where the young squire insisted to accompany the princess to the young knight’s chambers. They parted ways at the door, but not without Winn assuring her that no one was set to disturb her before lady Kara arrived. After thanking the man, the green-eyed girl walked into Kara’s chambers and soaked in that familiar essence of burning firewood that always seemed to surround the blonde Kryptonian. She walked towards the bed, still holding the flowers of pink petals in her hand, and sat by the edge, running her hand through the burgundy sheets that covered the mattress. She imagined her beloved, peacefully resting after a long day with her blonde locks fanning over the pillow, and she felt a warm sensation take over her body.
She sighed, undoing the knot that kept the strings of the cloak together, and took it off, putting it over the bed softly right after. There, surrounded by all those things that reminded her how real the blonde knight was, she felt safe, in a way she never would in her own palace. Perhaps that was the reason her eyelids began falling under the weight of exhaustion, her body finally asking for the slumber it had been deprived of the night before. Lena laid her head over Kara’s pillow, letting herself get lost in the essence left behind, just for a moment.
She didn’t want to miss a single moment she could get to spend with her fellow princess.
~~~
The moon reigned the night with its mighty glow beaming over every path that lead to the palace of the house of El, as it followed the steps of the fair and exhausted young knight making her way back to her chambers. she walked down the dim-lit empty halls as she untied her hair, moving her head side to side in a slow-motion, letting her blonde curls fall free over her back. She undid the laces on the wrists of her white silk blouse, folding her sleeves up to her elbows, before running her fingers over the skin of her chest that the low cut of her blouse left exposed. She would never regret her decisions—her royal duties gave her a sense of purpose that kept her going but that didn’t mean she didn’t have days when she wished she could escape and run to the arms of the green-eyed princess that hadn’t left her mind since she saw her last. At other times, she would have done it in a heartbeat, but with her sister’s coronation so near, she needed to make sure everything within the emerald kingdom was running smoothly. Regardless of the impossibility of seeing her beloved before the coronation, the simple thought of the princess of Jorden was enough to make Kara smile.
Upon arriving at her chambers, however, her mind went blank. Her weariness, her thoughts, even her name escaped her as soon as she walked in and found the single most breathtaking sight she had ever laid eyes upon. Kara would remember it for the remaining of her days, she knew as much.
A dark brown mane spread all over her pillows, as the intruder it belonged to slept soundly under the familiar red cloth of Kara’s cloak, which the intruder had borrowed months before. Her hand hung off the edge of the bed, holding a flower that had lost some petals, hinting at the idea that it had been there a long time. Kara’s ocean blue eyes followed the flower up to the gentle features of her fellow princess, so angelical that Kara was no longer convinced she was real. She bit her lip and moved towards the bed, taking off her boots as she did so, and sat on the edge of the bed, careful not to wake up the sleeping beauty. The blonde wasn’t sure what was the feeling in her chest anymore—a mixture of an everlasting lust that had been burning up her insides for a long time, only to culminate in an unmeasurable amount of pure, honest love that she had never felt before. The princess of Krypton tried to fight the urge to touch the other girl’s skin, but her emotions were stronger than she could have ever been. She ran a playful finger along the dark-haired woman’s side, before reaching for her rosy cheek and stroking it, gently.
“Lena,” Kara muttered, unable to stop the smile that formed on her face when she spoke the princess of Jorden’s name. “it’s time to wake.”
Lena shifted in her position, facing Kara, but did not wake. Kara’s smile only got wider. “Lena,” she said once more, louder. “Rise and shine, my lady.”
This time, Lena’s green eyes fluttered open, taking a few seconds and blinking to take notice of her surroundings, still in between slumber and reality, not sure if Kara really was there with her or if she was only dreaming. She smiled at the thought, nonetheless. Kara stroked her cheek once more and the touch made Lena close her eyes. It felt too real to be a dream.
“It took you long enough, princess,” Lena started, pulling the red cloth covering her closer to her chest and keeping her eyes closed. “I didn’t mean to fall asleep. I’m sorry.”
“I didn’t know you were here, I would have cut short my activities had I known.”
“That’s okay, I did need some rest.”
Kara continued to softly run the back of her fingers over Lena’s cheek and the green-eyed girl nonchalantly leaned into the touch, instinctively placing a soft kiss as she did so.
“Someone should have called me either way,” Kara replied, and Lena smiled, finally letting her emerald eyes get lost in the blue sea in front of her. Kara’s heart stopped for a second.
“It doesn’t matter,” Lena said. “You’re here now.”
Kara tried to reply but her voice got caught in her throat, unable to tear her eyes from what stood right in front of her. She decided to let her actions speak for her instead and leaned in to press her lips to Lena’s mouth. Lena sighed contently and returned the gesture. No matter how many times it had been done, every kiss would always feel like the first. The princess of Jorden wrapped her arms around Kara’s neck as she sat to be at the same level as her lover, with a certain eagerness that made an unknown feeling tumble inside the chest of the princess of Krypton. The blonde placed her hands over the waist of the other girl, pressing their bodies together. Lena’s hands escalated to Kara’s hair, tangling her long pale fingers amongst blonde curls as the knight deepen the kiss and let one of her hands roam freely over the green fabric covering Lena’s abdomen, searching for the string to untie her gown. Once she found it, the blonde pulled away, giving the other princess a questioning glance before continuing her quest. Lena bit her lip and nodded, keeping her eyes on Kara’s as the young warrior began undressing her, her breathing hitching with every piece of clothing that fell on the ground. The princess of Jorden had been preparing for this for a long time—perhaps ever since she ever laid eyes on the knight—but that didn’t stop the nerves from arising. When Kara took off the very last piece of clothing that covered Lena’s skin, her cheeks immediately turned to the brightest shade of pink. She looked away from the other girl’s blue eyes, slightly embarrassed, absentmindedly reaching for the cloak to cover herself. Nevertheless, Kara stopped her movements gently, holding her hand into hers, never tearing her eyes off Lena.
“Don’t,” Kara finally managed to get out with a low and deeper voice than she intended. She cleared her throat. “Do not, ever again.”
The pink in Lena’s face turned into a bright shade of red. “Kara…”
The blonde moved closer to her, connecting her eyes with Lena’s as she cupped her face. Lena never felt as vulnerable as she did right there. “You’re gorgeous,” Kara whispered, touching the tip of Lena’s nose with her own. Lena felt like her heart was a second away from collapsing. “The most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes upon.”
Kara moved forward, intending to close the gap between them, very painfully slow. She brushed Lena’s lips with her own before Lena couldn’t take it anymore and hungrily took the blonde’s lower lip between hers. Lena held onto blonde locks and Kara’s hands traveled down to Lena’s back, finding her waist and pulling her as close as humanly possible, as their mouths moved in sync, dancing to a song only they knew the notes to, sending shivers down both their spines.
Time simply stopped. They found themselves trapped in an eternity that encapsulated their very souls. All they could feel in that moment was a sentiment much larger than anything they had ever known. Lena moved forward and sat on Kara’s lap, wrapping her legs around her. Kara lost any sort of will and empowerment she had ever possessed and, soaked in Lena’s perfume, she was ready to do anything the princess of Jorden asked for. From that moment on, she belonged to no other but Lena. Kara left a trail of silky kisses over Lena’s neck and down to her cleavage, kisses that said much more than any gentle word ever could. Lena responded with small moans and heavy gasps as she pulled at the knight’s hair a little harder than she meant to and that only made Kara want to go even further. Lena slipped her cold hands under Kara’s shirt and she gasped, which the green-eyed girl took as an invitation to bite on her lip. Lena pulled away, reaching for the hem of Kara’s shirt and pulling it over her head, throwing it off the bed. Then, placing her hands over Kara’s now exposed shoulders, she joined their lips into a slow, passionate kiss that took Kara’s breath away. Their rhythm became gentle and smooth, up to the point they were only exchanging heartfelt short kisses. Kara took this moment to look into Lena’s eyes, so dark and deep that everything happening within those four walls felt like a sin, yet still so gentle and loving as they had always been, making her feel at home. Lena sighed, joyfully, and placed her forehead against Kara’s.
“Hi,” she said, and the blonde smiled, kissing her once more.
“Hi,” Kara replied, nuzzling her nose against Lena’s again.
Lena moved her hands across Kara’s chest, shyly cupping her breasts. Kara closed her eyes at the touch, containing herself, as Lena’s hands moved downwards, reaching for Kara’s belt and undoing it. Kara held onto Lena’s lower back and pushed her into the bed, positioning herself on top of her dark-haired lover. Lena pulled down the young knight’s trousers, eager to finally marvel at that body she had been aching to explore. Kara didn’t give her even a second, however, before she gently pressed her bare body against Lena’s, earning a soft gasp from the princess of Jorden. Lady Luthor was trying her very best to stay quiet but with each wet kiss Kara left on her skin, she found it harder to keep it to herself. After what seemed like an eternity, between heavy breaths and desperately urgent kisses, Lena reached the highest point of ecstasy, with the four letters of the knight’s name ringing on her lips. Kara never spoke of that night to anyone, but her name never sounded the same on anybody else’s lips again. In Lena’s arms, Kara found the safety she had lacked her entire life, which lasted much after the sun rose above the tall trees of the forest and slipped between Kara’s opened curtains. Even then, with only Kara’s cloak to cover them, they couldn’t get enough of each other.
It was one of the biggest revelations of the young knight’s life. Unlike every other time she had gone through this, her motives weren’t driven only by lust or desire. It was a connection that went deeper than anything she had ever known, a union that not even Rao himself could have broken even if He tried. Right there, her legs tangled up with Lena’s, lost in the emerald sea of her eyes, among smooth kisses, unstoppable laughs, heavy breaths, and longing brushes of their skin aching to be close once more, the room got filled with the kind of love Kara had only seen and heard of once in her life. That kind of love that, the princess of Krypton was sure, could be felt in every corner of the emerald kingdom.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Lena whispered, running her finger over Kara's naked shoulder and taking her out of her thoughts.
The blonde looked at her with such intense blue eyes that Lena would have lost her footing had she been standing. "I finally get it."
"What is it that you get, princess?"
"When my parents' ship got lost at sea," Kara started, softly. "I couldn't understand why my father didn't fight harder for his life. He was a legend amongst our people, he had escaped impossible situations. I always felt like he could have made it out alive. It haunted me." Surprisingly, the young knight grinned. "But I understand it now," the blonde said as she reached for the other girl's cheek, touching it just slightly with the back of her fingers. "My mother was with him. And my father would have preferred to die next to her than to have to spend a second without her." She leaned over, cupping Lena's face and kissing her, quickly, softly, lovingly. "I get it now."
Lena held onto Kara’s back, taken aback by her words, and hid her face in the crook of her neck. She felt the words in her throat, those three words that she had been fighting to say since that very first horse ride, that first deep conversation, that first dance, that first drunken kiss. She knew that she didn’t have to hold it back any longer, but she hated to feel that vulnerable, that open to the possibility of getting hurt once more. But Kara lazily ran her hand down her lower back and she felt like there was nothing to fear with that simple touch. She breathed against Kara’s neck, making her shiver, and she said it, once and for all, ready to walk right into hell if that was what it entitled. “I love you,” simply left her lips and she felt Kara freeze in her arms. She bit her lip and hid her face even more into Kara’s neck.
“I love you,” Kara said, for the very first time, unable to contain the corners of her mouth from turning into a smile, fully aware that this undoubtedly was the greatest day of her life. Lena kissed Kara’s neck, and she felt the vibrations of her vocal cords against her lips when the blonde spoke again. “And I’m glad you’re here with me.”
“I never want to be anywhere else,” Lena replied, feeling how her tired eyes started closing again.
Game/Fight night.
Supercorp, Kara Danvers x Daughter!Reader, Lena Luthor x Daughter!Reader
Word Count: 1970.
And so you did this to yourself. You promised your moms they would get to meet (meet again?) your girlfriend on a game night. And now, she knows everything about you. She knows you’re a Luthor, she knows you’re a Super, and she also knows you can go to the past and change your future in a blink of an eye. Still, she is here.
She is at your door, waiting for you to let her in, while you tell your moms to behave, like they are some little kids who need directions. But the rest of the family is also instructed to be at their best behavior.
“Hey babe!” Maya says as soon as you open the door, and your heart instantly swells a couple of sizes when you see her smile and hear her voice.
You don’t know how it is possible to not remember most of the things you both went through, and still love her so much. You’ve always known love was an insane sentiment. More than a word. Dear Rao, so much more than a word and just a beautiful concept.
You see it in your godmother’s eyes, when she waited years to be with Alex, and when it didn’t work, she did the insane thing and went back in time just to tell her the truth and had hope that Alex would feel the same. And you also see it in Alex’s eyes, when she looks at her family like she won the lottery. Sam and Alex look at each other like a promise they made and finally were able to keep.
You see it in Kara’s eyes. As if the pain and the losses she felt, all lead to this moment right here and it was all worth it just so she can marry Lena and have you. And you also see it in Lena’s eyes. You can see that she would do and give everything she has and all that she is, just to have Kara and you by her side until the end.
And now, you know you are looking at Maya in the same way. You know you would give all of this up, all of this happiness and love from other people aside from your family, just to have her love and support from HER. Because everything else means nothing if you don’t have her with you.
“Hey, babe. Come in.” You give her a quick kiss, before they notice, and walk with her to the inside of the house. “Guys, this is Maya. Maya, my family.”
It’s all a confusion of ‘hey’, ‘hi’, ‘hello’, from that on, but she doesn’t seem overwhelmed. On the contrary, Maya looks like she belongs , as she goes around introducing herself personally to everyone and shaking hands.
Everyone has the reaction you would expect them to.
Jamie: Hey, Rose. Nice project in the arts class.
Alex: Hi, I’m a special agent and I will haunt you down if you break my niece’s heart.
Sam: She is joking. Alex, please! Hi, I’m her godmother. Welcome to the super competitive family game night. It’s never personal, they’re just really intense, ok?
Lena: Hello Maya, I’m Lena. The scary mom.
Kara: You wish! I’m the scary mom.
Lena, Sam, Alex, Jamie, you: She really isn’t.
Kara: I could be scary.
But she can’t. She really can’t. So after an interrogation that lasts long, tortuous, uncountable embarrassing minutes, you all finally sit back to play some games.
And it’s so fun and nice. It doesn’t seem like it’s the first time they’re interacting. Which is true, but also not at all, because they don’t remember her. Still it’s so easy to be totally yourself with her that you don’t even worry when Kara decides to embarrass you and tell her about when you were young.
You also don’t care when she stands up on a whim, using her super hearing, ruining the game.
“Alex!” She yells, running to the door. Alex doesn’t fall far behind. “Emergency.”
“Brainy, what is going on?” Your aunt presses her comm, and you can hear him on the other side as well.
“I need you on the DEO, director.”
“I have to go.” Alex doesn’t leave before kissing Sam goodbye. “Take the kid home. It’s safer.”
“Superkid, time to take your girlfriend home as well.” Kara says, then gives Maya an apologetic smile. “Sorry to have our game cut short, Maya. But the Pan Pals will get revanched for that last game, I promise!”
“O-ok.” Maya is still confused about what 's going on, but when you’re back in front of her, all dressed in your suit, she takes no extra time wrapping her arms around your shoulders, as you carry her in bridal style to the backyard.
“Are you ok?” You get a nod in agreement. “We’re going to fly now.”
You take Maya home, to make sure she is going to be safe. You don’t know what the problem is, though you can hear Alex and Brainy yelling at each other all the way in the DEO. You also can hear Kara trying to convince Lena to stay out of it. Like she would ever.
But you do what you were told. You make sure Maya is safe and that there is no harm coming her way. Whatever it is that is happening out there, no one can deal with it better than Supergirl.
So you should let her do what she does best, save people.
That is, until you hear. “If you wanna get to Supergirl, you’re gonna have to go through me.” In that most familiar voice you know.
Your heart stops, but just for a split second, before it starts pumping faster than ever. All the sounds stop. You can only hear two hearts beating, and you’re sure none of them is your own.
“Gotta run.” You’re already far away when you finish the sentence. But it’s ok, you don’t think you needed to say anything when Maya saw the terror washing over your face.
You crash into a lab that you don’t even know where it is and look at the scene before you. Kara is sitting at one chair, looking lost in her own mind, too far to protect herself or your mom. And Lena, poor Lena, is in front of danger, protecting the love of her life with her own body.
“Superkid. I would ask you what you’re doing here, putting yourself in danger like that.” Lena looks at you with wide eyes, surprised to see you there.
“But you’re in a crisis, and you’re happy to see me?” You quirk one eyebrow at her.
“God, you are just like Supergirl.” It’s her reaction, even though there is a kryptonite dagger up to her throat. Kryptonite can’t hurt her, but the sharp point in it right at her jugular could do immense damage to her.
Lena can read your mind. You can read her face. It’s a shame working with people that know you so well because you can see what she’s thinking. It’s funny how Lena’s eyes are yelling ‘don’t even think about it’ because she knows exactly what you’re going to do.
You use your super speed, and in a blink she is right next to Kara and you’re in front of Acrata. And now what?
Lena can’t get hurt with kryptonite, but you can feel the pain even if it’s not piercing your skin. You can see it in her eyes that she knows she is hurting you already.
“Move. I don’t want to hurt you.”
“No, but you wanna hurt Supergirl and I can’t let you do this.” You give one step forward getting even closer to the kryptonite dagger. You hear a whimper, and you think it must have left your mouth, because you’re in pain already. It takes you a few seconds to understand that it actually left Lena’s mouth. “So, is this really what you’re going to do? Kill two Supers? Is that the side of history you wanna be on?”
“If I don’t kill Supergirl, my father will die.”
“That can’t be true.” You don’t even know what is happening, but deep in your heart you know it can’t be true at all. How is your momma’s life so attached to this random man's life? “The Supers don’t kill. Whatever it is that your father did, he will pay for it, but not with his life.”
You can see she’s shaken, when her hand shivers and the dagger almost falls off. You give another tiny step forward and you can feel the dagger actually cutting your skin this time. A few drops of blood fall on her hand and she looks at it in horror.
“I can’t let you hurt her. I can’t let you kill my mother.” And that makes her drop the dagger on the floor instantly and disappear right in front of your eyes.
You breathe out in relief, and you hear Lena’s breath as well. She rushes to your side, touching the small cut on your neck.
“What was that? She could’ve killed you!” Lena looks so scared, while she tries to stop the bleeding on you.
“So? She could have killed you as well. That didn’t stop you from jumping in front of momma to protect her.”
“I had it under control. Now look at you, baby, you’re bleeding.” There’s a small tear falling from her eye, and you kiss it when it reaches her cheek.
“I’m fine, mom. I had it under control.” You give her a side smile and soon you feel her arms around you.
“Please, never again jump in front of kryptonite for me. I’m your mom, I can protect you.” She promises full heartedly. And you believe her. Of course she can. She is Lena freaking Luthor and alongside Supergirl they can do anything.
Yet. You still can’t promise you won’t jump in front of whatever for them. They are the most important people in your life and the thought of them being hurt, hurts you a lot more than any kryptonite can. That much you know.
When Kara finally comes back to herself, you’re glad to know the world is once again saved. But what you care about the most is that they’re both safe and sound in front of you and heading back home like nothing even happened.
Well, not really. You’re still listening to Lena’s worried complaints, and Kara’s excited congratulations. And even though they’re saying opposite things, you can’t help but feel loved by both.
You feel supported by Kara, and happy that she thinks you’re doing a good job protecting the family when she’s unavailable. And you feel loved and cared for by Lena, that no matter how many times sees you in danger she will always worry about you.
“Well, today was a nice day.” Kara says looking at the games, still all scattered around the living room. Lena gives her a stern look. “What? We had a game night and re-met our daughter’s girlfriend.”
“You were also almost killed, and your daughter jumped in front of a kryptonite dagger for us, getting hurt and now she is bleeding.” Lena adds, sounding a lot more dramatic than what everything really was.
“Yeah, but that’s like everyday for us.” She shrugs, getting another disapproving look from Lena.
“God, I hope not.” She looks at your neck again. It’s not even bleeding anymore. “Get to bed, I’ll be there in a bit to patch you up.”
“Thanks, mom.” You don’t dare to tell her you definitely don’t need to be patched up. You just make your way to your bedroom feeling excited.
Kara was right. Today was a nice day. Your girlfriend met your family and fit in perfectly. And you saved your family. You can’t wait for another game/ fight night.
Notes:
@joyfulhorsepandaflap asked me for a game night ending in a fight, and @ilovelenaluthor prompted a variation of 5x19 where Superkid does the saving. So I hope you both like it :)
Tumblr media
It is Christmas morning and Emma stretches as she slowly wakes up before pulling Diana closer to her. Yesterday she had woken up to the Superfriends cooing over the Danvers sisters as they clung to each other on the sofa. But today she enjoyed waking up behind her girlfriend.
Christmas Eve had been a relaxing day filled with christmas movies, games, food and a chilled atmosphere. Although, Emma expects today to be a bit more lively. She can’t wait to watch everyone open the presents she got them, finding it was the main thing she enjoys about the day.
Emma reaches out for her phone and cracks an eye open to see what the time is.
5am.
‘Still too early.’ Emma muses and opens her messages to send christmas wishes to her British friends.
After completing her task Emma rests her head on the pillow. She weighs up her options of either staying in bed or the possibility of going surfing. But she remembers Alex’s request that someone goes to the beach with her. She can sense Diana is still very much in a deep sleep and the house is quiet other than the heavy breathing and snoring coming from the different rooms. Closing her eyes again Emma snuggles back into Diana and places a kiss on her shoulder. Emma starts drifting off to sleep when she hears the creak of the door opening from the next room.
She sluggishly opens her eyes and yawns, hoping maybe whoever is awake will agree to come with her to the beach. Carefully she removes her arms from around Diana and hears the shower turning on.
‘Guess I’ll have to wait.’ Emma thinks and debates about whether to change out of her long pyjama bottoms and t-shirt.
But then her ears prick up from a certain noise coming from the bathroom. A noise she knows very, very, intimately and Emma’s cheeks heat up.
“Emma.” Lena moans, her breathing becomes more ragged while her heartbeat picks up as she hums deeply. “Em-ma.”
Arousal immediately spreads through Emma’s body, as well as horror. She springs out of bed, throwing on her Supergirl hoodie and rushes as silently as she can downstairs.
She places her hands over her ears to try to deafen the sound but it’s no use. She can hear everything.
In a panic her eyes fall on her portal watch that Winn had borrowed to do some last minute christmas eve shopping and Emma dives for it. The familiar bright purple light surrounds her and she teleports without thinking of where she will end up.
Emma blinks when the light fades and she’s standing outside Robyn’s door.
‘She may not even be here.’ Emma reasons but finds her fist rising to knock anyway. Emma waits and hears movement within, her chest heaving as she tries to calm down. ‘She could be with someone! You idiot!’ Emma berates herself and wonders if it’s too late to portal somewhere else when the door opens.
“Em?” Robyn asks with a laugh. “I just messaged you!” Robyn’s crystal blue eyes narrow slightly as she takes in Emma’s wide eyed expression and red cheeks. “Are you okay?”
Emma gently shakes her head and Robyn pulls her into the flat. Emma motions to the bathroom and quickly uses it before washing her hands and entering the lounge.
“What’s wrong?” Robyn asks from the sofa and pats the space beside her. Emma flops heavily onto it and holds her head in her clammy hands. “Em? Seriously, what’s going on?”
Emma breathes in heavily and runs her hands through her hair before sitting up. She reaches for her phone and starts typing.
“Oh, er, you don’t need to do that.”
Emma questioningly gazes at her friend.
“I’ve been learning sign language. Like the American version as well as the British but more focused on ASL.”
“Why?”
“Because I wanted to be able to communicate with you better. I mean, I saw how you were with Diana and it made more sense that I learn.”
Emma sucks in her lips and pulls Robyn into a grateful hug.
“So-” Robyn moves away and focuses on the blonde. “What’s going on?”
“I woke up and I was the first one awake. Or so I thought.” Emma pauses and Robyn repeats it to make sure she understands.
“Okay, continue.”
“It was Lena and she-”
Robyn’s face darkens at the mention of Emma’s ex. “What did she do? Do you need me to slap her?”
Emma shakes her head and suddenly feels very awkward. “She was having a shower and I heard her-” Emma makes a motion with her hand.
“Heard her what? Trying to sing?”
Emma takes a deep breath. “She was masturbating.”
Robyn tilts her head and Emma shuffles uncomfortably. “Erm, I don’t know that sign.”
Emma facepalms and wonders how else she can sign it. But Emma grabs her phone again and writes it instead.
“Ah no! Please let me figure it out!” Robyn pouts and Emma rolls her eyes. She quickly makes the wanking motion and looks away from Robyn.
“Lena has a dick?!”
Emma slams her head against the back cushion and holds her forehead as she silently groans.
“Oh.. Oh!” Robyn starts to giggle. “You heard her giving some self love huh?”
Emma nods.
“So you have super hearing too?”
Emma nods again.
“Erm, well I can see why that would be slightly awkward for you, but why did you look so freaked out just now?”
“She moaned my name.”
“Oh.” Robyn says quietly and her smile drops.
Emma cringes but Robyn’s face twitches and she presses her lips tightly together.
“It is not funny!” Emma signs heatedly.
Unable to hold it in anymore Robyn barks out laughing. Offended Emma grabs a pillow and whacks her friend over the head.
“Oi!” Robyn whacks her back and Emma holds her hands up in surrender before flopping back onto the sofa. “I’m sorry, it’s just, man, it is funny!” Robyn tries to explain and Emma huffs loudly. “No wonder you were so beat red when I opened the door!”
Emma nods and her eyes wander around the room. She frowns at how bare it is of decorations and stares questioningly at her friend.
“What?”
“You haven’t decorated?”
“Hey I know what you are doing! You are trying to change the subject! We ain’t done with Lena flicking her bean.”
Emma bursts into silent laughter and Robyn joins in. The pair can’t seem to stop and soon they both have tears running down their faces.
“Ah I needed that.” Robyn gasps out and wipes under her eyes. “So, how do you feel about what happened? I mean, you teleported here.”
Emma shifts on the sofa and faces the brunette.
“Honestly, I panicked.”
“Reasonable, but why?” Robyn asks and Emma feels her heart clench.
“It turned me on.”
Robyn nods. “And that’s okay, it’s natural and-”
Emma raises her hands and signs quickly. “But I have a girlfriend, who I love very much and Lee broke my heart! Plus she does not want me! So why would she be doing that?!”
Robyn sighs heavily. “Maybe she still likes you.” Emma glares daggers at her and Robyn raises a hand. “I mean, you are hot Em, I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t want to sleep with you.”
“You did not.”
“Yea well, I missed my chance years ago. I’d rather be your friend anyway.” Robyn takes Emma’s hand and smiles.
Emma smiles back but her phone interrupts by brightly flashing and pinging on the coffee table.
Reaching over her heart freezes when she sees the message from Alex.
Alex: WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!
“Em?” Robyn asks and leans over to read the message. “Ahh, didn’t tell them where you were going?”
Emma shakes her head and rocks herself slightly, as if trying to self soothe.
“Well, you better leave. Wouldn’t want Supergirl to come crashing through my balcony windows again. I’m still finding pieces of glass!” Robyn says jokingly, Emma glances around the flat again and her phone lights up with another message.
Alex: Seriously Em, please message me that you are okay.
Emma: Sorry I’m with Robyn, it was a last second decision. I’ll be home soon.
Emma sends the message and gazes up at Robyn. “Come with me.”
Robyn blinks, looking taken aback by Emma’s request. “No it’s okay, I mean, the day is almost over for me anyway.”
Emma tilts her head, a look of compassion crosses her face. “Why did you not tell me you were going to be alone?”
Robyn breaks their eye contact and focuses on her fidgeting hands. “Because I didn’t want to see the look you are giving me now.”
Emma pulls the brunette into a hug but her phone pings again. But Emma ignores it and keeps her attention on her best friend. She moves back to sign. “Please Robyn.”
“They might not even want me!” Robyn whines. “I’m sure Lucy won’t either.” Robyn adds under her breath and a light blush crosses her cheeks.
Emma pauses. “Lucy?”
Robyn’s cheeks darken even further. “Yea, she, erm, took me out for coffee while my flat was being repaired.”
Emma grins. “Pack a bag. Now.”
“Urgh!” Robyn groans and rushes to her room, knowing Emma will just teleport them if she doesn’t. Plus she wants her own toothbrush and clothes. “But I don’t have any gifts!” Robyn yells, then rolls her eyes when she realises Emma can’t respond.
Emma appears in the doorway with a grin. “Mom says it is okay and she cannot wait to see you. I am sure Lucy feels the same.” Emma raises an eyebrow.
“Do not say anything to her. I mean sign.” Robyn zips the bag up and Emma copies the motion across her mouth.
“It’s very sweet though.”
Robyn ignores her and huffs out a deep breath. “Okay, let’s go before I change my mind or your sister murders you for sneaking out again.”
Emma momentarily pauses at Robyn’s words but lets out a silent snort of laughter.
Purple light engulfs the pair and next they are standing in the huge back room of the Danvers house.
“Oh shit that-” Robyn drops her bag and sways. Emma grabs her quickly and helps her onto a sofa, placing her head between her legs. “Happy christmas everyone.” Robyn’s muffled voice calls out and she raises a hand to wave. The Superfriends say their own greetings back and Emma keeps her head lowered, worrying about Alex’s mood. But also she is unsure of how she will react looking at Lena. Suddenly Robyn flings her head back and smiles.
“Sorry about that! Always had terrible travel sickness!” Robyn jumps to her feet and approaches a worried looking Eliza. “Thank you for having me over Eliza! Though I’m sure Emma would have kidnapped me either way!”
“I’m glad she did, no one should be alone on christmas day.” Eliza says and gives the brunette a hug, who seemingly melts into the motherly embrace.
Emma smiles sadly at them, knowing Robyn had been disowned by her parents and feels frustrated with herself that she presumed Robyn would be with Tina, Caden or Logan.
The sofa dips next to her and she turns to see a subdued Alex.
Emma raises her hands. “I am sorry, it was a quick decision and I should have left a note or messaged you.”
“It’s okay, I’m sorry I panicked and lashed out. Again.”
“I was worried steam was gonna erupt from her ears or something.” Kara jokes as she sits next to Emma. “Merry christmas.”
Emma responds by snuggling into her side and watches Robyn help Eliza and Diana get drinks for everyone. Diana’s eyes connect with hers and Emma’s face lights up in a bright smile. Diana gives her a small, closed smile and continues her task, making Emma frown slightly.
“Nowwww, can we start opening presents?” Ruby whines.
“Yea! Pwesents! Pwwwese?” Mary copies her and claps on Winn’s lap who tickles her sides. Mary squeals and Emma voicelessly chuckles with the others.
“Soon Rubes.” Sam says and kisses her daughter’s head. “Emma needs something to eat first.” Sam gives the blonde a pointed look and Emma begrudgingly stands to get something from the kitchen.
“Here you go sweetheart. I made you a bacon sandwich.” Eliza holds it out to her daughter and Emma takes it gratefully. She takes a bite and approaches Diana.
“Good morning Astéri.” Diana says softly and Emma nuzzles her cheek against hers.
“What have I told you about the cuteness overload that’s giving me fillings?” Robyn scoffs and Emma narrows her eyes. She puckers her lips and gets closer to her girlfriend’s lips. “No, Emma, I won’t be able to take much more!” Robyn says dramatically and Emma waits for Diana to kiss her.
“Oh I know right?!” Lucy comes up beside Robyn. “I look at them and I feel nauseous from the cuteness overload.”
“Ha! Yea, er, that’s funny and so true.” Robyn stutters and Emma notices her friend’s cheeks turning red again. She quickly kisses Diana’s cheek instead, guessing that she didn’t see it. “It’s nice to see you again Miss Lane.”
“Yea likewise, I mean, last I saw you your apartment was in a bit of a state.” Lucy says smoothly. “And please, it’s Lucy.”
Robyn nods. “Yes, of course.” Robyn holds out her hand. “It’s a pleasure to see you again, Lucy.”
Emma raises an eyebrow at her sisters who are also watching closely and return their own raised eyebrows. Robyn and Lucy shake hands and giggle.
“Adults are weird.” Ruby mutters and Emma laughs loudly, causing Robyn’s head to snap and stare at her.
“Did you just?!”
Emma reaches up to her neck and massages it. She opens her mouth to see if she can make any other noises, but only air comes out.
“Emma’s voice is coming back bit by bit.” Diana tries to explain and holds the blonde’s hand.
“Yea, she has these moments where it breaks through.” Lucy adds and Robyn stares in wonder.
“So, it doesn’t stay?”
Emma nods sadly.
“But it’s a start.” Robyn grins, making Emma’s face light up too.
Mary huffs loudly and Emma takes pity on her by leading the others to the sofas. She sits and places her plate on the coffee table, gazing at the huge pile of presents. She turns to Diana and lifts her hands.
“Thanks for bringing mine down.”
“It wasn’t a problem.” Diana responds softly and gently kisses her lips.
“Are we ready?” Eliza asks and Emma is looking over to check everything is there. However, she realises Robyn’s presents are still in her room. She springs to her feet and quickly signs she’ll be back and rushes upstairs.
She quickly changes into blue jeans, a plain t-shirt and puts her Supergirl hoodie back on before grabbing Robyn’s presents. Consisting of a bag full of little presents and a big, long, narrow box that requires both of her hands to carry. She zips back into the room, placing them under the tree.
“Is that… That isn’t for me?” Robyn’s mouth drops open and Emma nods. “But, I-”
Emma sits next to her and takes her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
“Okay, shall I be the postal worker?” Alex gets on her knees and starts looking at labels. Mary plods over to try and help. “Who wants to go first?”
“ME!” Mary, Ruby and Kara yell at the same time.
“No me!” Nia giggles loudly and waves her hands around.
“How about-” Alex grabs a present and reads it. “Mom.” She gives it to Mary who starts to give it to Ayla. “Oh no sweetie, my Mom! To Eliza.” Alex says warmly and Mary changes course to hand Eliza the present.
“To Mom, love Emma x.” Eliza reads and she smiles at her daughter. “Thank you Sweetheart.” She starts to carefully open it and Emma rolls her eyes at her sisters. Eliza always insists that the wrapping paper can be reused, causing her daughters to try and wrap it so well that their Mom would have no choice but to rip the present open.
“Just rip it!” Both Kara and Alex yell while Emma claps and finishes her bacon sandwich.
“Okay!” Eliza laughs and does so, revealing  a beautiful shawl. “Oh wow! Emma, this is wonderful.”
The Superfriends ooo and ahh as Eliza wraps it around her neck and poses with it.
“It looks lovely on you.” Nia smiles and Alex reaches for another present.
“And this belongs to-”
“Me!” Mary’s hand shoots up.
“MEEEEE!” Kara whines.
“No ME!” Ruby yells even louder and Emma shakes her head in amusement as she snuggles into Diana.
Soon the room is filled with ripped wrapping paper and Emma enjoys watching everyone open the many gifts she got them.
“So, this next one is for-” Alex lifts a small, slim present. “Emma!” Alex holds it out and Emma blinks at her. “Why do you look surprised?”
Emma takes it and reads the label, seeing it was from Ruby. She looks over at the teen and smiles warmly at her. She opens the small gift, revealing a woven friendship bracelet in the colours of red, blue and gold.
“Do you like it?” Ruby asks hesitantly and Emma nods as tears fill her eyes. She motions for Ruby to come over and holds her right wrist out for Ruby to tie it on. After Ruby does so Emma pulls the teen into a hug.
“Thank you! I love it!” Emma signs and admires it on her wrist.
“Next we have!” Alex declares in a game show voice making everyone chuckle. She spots a box hidden behind the christmas tree and dives underneath to get it.
“Oh Alex.” Eliza mutters, knowing her daughter always loves a challenge. “Surely it's better to do the presents in the front?”
“Where's the fun in that?” Alex chuckles as she sits back up with the gift. She reads the label and declares. “Emma again!” She holds a beautifully wrapped, shoe sized box and Lena tenses. “Do you want it now or wait for others to open some more?”
Emma shrugs and reaches for it.
‘Dearest Emma, from Lena.’ Emma reads and feels her cheeks heating up. Robyn giggles beside her and the blonde nudges her hard in the ribs.
“Ow!” Robyn yelps and rubs her side.
With trembling fingers Emma delicately unwraps the present and opens the box. She tilts her head at what she sees and carefully reaches in, pulling out a light coloured wooden box with the top and front missing. Inside is a little boat on top of wooden, reed like sticks.
“What is it?” Ruby asks and Emma places it on the coffee table in front of her.
Seeing a handle she winds it up and the sticks start moving in a ripple effect, like waves of the sea with the boat bobbing up and down.
A gentle chime starts playing out and Emma immediately recognises it as her song ‘Shallow’. She stares at it in wonder and listens to the music box version of her song.
When it ends, Emma sniffs.
“That sounded beautiful.” Brainy comments and others in the room agree.
“Who is it from Sweetheart?” Eliza asks and Emma slowly raises her head and her eyes connect with worried green eyes.
“Thank you.”
“Y-you’re welcome.” Lena shakily responds, not noticing the slight frown that appears on Diana’s face as her eyes flick from the back of Emma’s head into her own.
“Okay, next one is-”
The gift opening continues for a bit longer and many of the gifts Emma bought in Europe are opened.
“Ooo this one is for me!” Alex smiles happily and starts opening it. She pauses when the smell of the leather hits her but then tears the rest of the paper. “Wow! I love it!” Alex lifts the leather jacket up and gazes at it. Immediately she puts it on and Sam wolf whistles at her. “Thanks Peanut!” Alex beams at her sister and Emma smiles back, happy it’s a perfect fit.
“Now you will not be trying to steal mine! I have seen you looking longingly at it!”
“Me? Would I ever do such a thing?” Alex declares, making both Emma and Kara look at each other and nod. “Hey!”
An alarm sounds in the kitchen and Eliza gets up. “Okay I think it’s time for a break because lunch is ready!”
“Yay!” Kara squeals and bounces over to Emma to pull her into a hug. “Thank you so much for my new art supplies! I seriously cannot wait to use them!”
“And for this sexy ass jacket!” Alex says, squeezing in between Emma and Diana. Emma snuggles into their arms and squeezes them three times.
“I love you too.” Alex whispers back and reaches for Diana to join the hug. The brunette smiles and takes Alex’s hand instead.
“Ditto.” Kara says and kisses the top of Emma’s head.
Robyn smiles at the sisters and gets up from the sofa. As she heads towards the kitchen Ruby starts playing the music box again. Robyn pauses and her gaze lowers to Lena. A surge of anger flows through her as wary green eyes connect with her icy stare.
“Luthor.” Robyn greets with a curt nod before continuing on. “Eliza? How can I help?”
“Oh bless you! Thank you Robyn, but you’re our guest!”
“No, please let me help.” Robyn pouts.
“Okay, if you insist.” Eliza laughs and Robyn beams at her. The brunette reaches for the big ceramic tray that is piled high with roasted potatoes. “Careful!” Eliza shouts, causing Robyn to freeze. “That is very hot! Could you take the carrots instead?” Robyn does so as Kara bounds over to help too.
Robyn enters the dining room and places the carrots on the huge table. She stares at the decorations and feels a sense of gratitude warming her.
“Watch your back.” Kara says from behind her and places the ceramic tray in the middle of the table.
Robyn blinks. Kara wasn’t wearing oven gloves.
“Robyn? You okay?” Kara asks in concern.
“Yea!” The brunette answers quickly. “Sorry, I’m just really honoured that you guys are okay with me being here.”
“Aw! Of course we are!” Kara places a hand on Robyn’s shoulder and leaves to get more food to place on the table.
Robyn glances down at the tray with a frown and touches it. She hisses as her fingertips burn and moves her hand away. ‘Holy Shit!’
Someone touches her shoulder and Robyn jumps in fright.
Emma places the big bowl of shredded cabbage down and frowns at her.
“Oh I, the, er, the tray was slightly off the mat so I moved it so the table wouldn’t burn. But forgot it was scolding hot, so ya know, burned myself in the process.” She waves her hand and winces at the pain.
Emma gently grabs Robyn’s wrist and examines her finger tips. Cringing at the sight of the burn and blisters already starting to appear.
“Seriously I’m fine.”
But Emma doesn’t listen and drags her to the downstairs bathroom and runs her fingers under the cold water.
Robyn yelps and tries to pull away but Emma keeps her hand firmly in place.
“Emma? Robyn?” They hear Eliza call them from the corridor. “There you are! What happened?” They both turn to look at Eliza and miss the quick glow of Emma’s hands.
“Oh I touched the potato tray and I burnt myself?”
“Is that a question?” Eliza asks as she begins to fuss over Robyn’s hand. The brunette blinks, having felt the pain dull and disappear. Neither sees Emma stumbling slightly against the wall to steady herself.
“Actually, my fingers feel better.”
“Hmm, they don’t look overly burned.” Eliza agrees and releases Robyn’s hand. “Please be more careful.” Eliza implores and Robyn nods.
‘Like Kara was?’ Robyn wants to say but instead follows the two blondes into the dining room. Her mouth drops open at the amount of food on the table, likening the display to a feast.
She is seated in between Emma and Diana with Lucy placed strategically opposite her in the middle of Kara and Ben.
The meal is dished out and Emma silently hums as she enjoys the Christmas lunch. She listens to the chatter and laughter as she eats and part of the way through Emma tries to get Diana’s attention but she is seemingly too preoccupied in her discussion with Winn and Brainy about a new project they want to work on.
“No, I'm being serious!” Robyn laughs with Lucy, Kara, Sam, Alex, and Ruby. “Emma and I were working on a song and I made an error so I asked Emma for a rubber, the look on her face was priceless and I motioned with my hand-” Robyn makes a rubbing out motion that could easily be mistaken as something else. “And repeated if she had a rubber. Well she stared at me like she was utterly mortified until she yelled out ‘oh you mean an ERASER!’”
Emma grins at the memory, remembering how they fell onto the floor gasping for breath because they had laughed so much and had to abandon song writing for the day.
“Oh that’s too funny!” Kara laughs and Emma frowns when she hears Robyn’s heart rate momentarily spike. “Are there many differences between British and American words?”
“Er-” Robyn stutters but smiles. “Yea! There’s so many but that’s been the funniest one.”
“I found another one is eggplant.” Lucy smirks at Robyn. “Do you know what that is?”
Emma listens to Robyn’s heart pick up again and she looks over at Sam to see if she heard it too. By the confused glance she gives her, it would seem she did.
“Erm, I don’t actually.”
“Or Cilantro?”
“That’s… no, I dont know.”
“First one is Aubergine and the second is Coriander.” Lucy explains with a coy smile.
“Ah- what? That makes no sense! Like why call it an eggplant?!”
“Well why would you call a trunk a boot?”
“Why would you call a biscuit a cookie when it is nothing like a cookie but a hobnob!” Robyn says back and the pair start debating the differences.
Emma silently chuckles with the others and she grins at Alex who raises her glass of zero percent beer at her.
Emma toasts back to her and sips her pepsi max, secretly wishing she could have some wine with this meal. But she wants to support and honour the Superfriends’ sobriety.
Finally the meal ends and mostly everyone feels stuffed from the yummy food.
“Oh man, I can’t eat another bite.” Ben leans back in his chair, tapping his stomach.
“Speak for yourself!” Kara laughs and grabs another roasted potato from the tray. Robyn watches her with veiled interest.
“So is that no to dessert?” Alex asks Ben who huffs out like a horse.
“Probably not for a little bit.” He stretches and smiles at Eliza. “Thank you for this wonderful meal. I didn’t believe Kara when she said it tops thanksgiving.”
“Thank you Ben.”
Emma raises her glass to her Mom and the others copy her, sending their thanks.
“Sooooo, presents?” Ruby asks with a grin, making everyone chuckle and they head back into the back room.
Emma, Nia and Ayla quickly load the dishwasher, much to Eliza’s annoyance, but they argue that she should sit and relax because she did most of the hard work with cooking. Once they plan the different loads they make the coffees and bring them over with mints to the sofas and settle back down.
Alex kneels by the tree again and picks up a small ring box.
“So-”
“Actually, Alex, can I give you mine?” Sam asks and Alex's head snaps to her in confusion.
“Er, sure?”
“Okay, well, a lot has happened since thanksgiving and I want to do this properly, mainly because I didn’t have everyone’s blessing at the time.” Sam smiles over at Emma and kneels in front of Alex. “I cannot imagine waking up without you by my side, we’ve been through a lot but with you by my side, I know I can face anything. You are my whole world and-” Sam pulls out a ring box and opens it. “Alexandra Danvers, will you marry me?”
Alex bursts into laughter and tears as she nods. “Of course!” They kiss and hold each other. Alex pulls away and laughs again. “I wondered where my ring went!” Sam slides it onto Alex’s finger and beams at her. “And actually-” Alex picks up the ring box beside her. “You beat me to it. Again.”
Sam chuckles and Emma snuggles happily into Diana’s side.
“Growing up, I knew something was missing but I could never figure out what it was. It was like this little hole in my heart and when I met you, that hole started to fill and heal. When you told me you loved me I felt whole. You complete me and I never want to go a day without you by my side.” Alex opens the box, revealing a beautiful oval diamond ring. “Samatha Aries, will you do me the absolute honour in marrying me?”
Sam sniffs as tears roll down her cheeks and she nods quickly. “Yes! Yes!”
Emma claps with the Superfriends and beams at the pair, wiping her own face which is wet with tears. She places a hand over her heart and feels grateful to have witnessed the proposal.
She snuggles happily into her girlfriend, but her eyes instinctively seek out emotional green ones before snapping away. She does notice how Lena fiddles with the long necklace but turns her thoughts back to Sam and Alex as they break apart and face the group.
“Congratulations!” J’onn cheers and claps with everyone.
“Thank you.” Alex beams and Sam stays by her side. “Shall we open more presents or?”
“PLEASEEEE!” Ruby whines jokingly and Alex reaches for one.
“Pwesents! Pwesents!” Mary claps and soon the room is filled with wrapping paper again.
Emma screws some tightly in her hand as Nia admires a necklace Emma got her. The blonde takes aim and throws the ball at Alex’s head.
“OW!” Alex yelps and Emma snorts, raising her hands to protect herself when Alex throws it back.
“Girls!” Eliza says strictly and tries to hide the smile on her face as Mary picks some paper up and tries throwing it at Alex.
“Can you slide the really big box over?” Emma signs and Alex points at a small one.
“This one?”
Emma rolls her eyes and shakes her head.
“Oh, you mean, this one?” Alex points at an even smaller one, making some chuckle. Emma raises an eyebrow and Alex gives in, sliding the big, long box over. Emma turns to Robyn and motions for her to open it.
“That’s really for me? Oh no, Em, you’ve already gotten me so much I couldn’t possibly-”
Emma places her hand on Robyn’s shoulder.
Taking a deep breath Robin leans down and starts pulling the wrapping paper off. Opening the lid she freezes.
“No, you didn’t…” Robyn’s voice is low and her face scrunches up as her eyes fill with tears.
“What is it?” Ruby asks and tries to see.
Robyn unlocks the guitar case and delicately lifts up a beautiful acoustic guitar, placing it on her lap. “Em, I-”
“Please accept it. You helped me so much when I was in my darkest moments. This is the least I could do.”
Alex, Kara and Lena watch Emma sign and all three of their shoulders fall.
Robyn leans over and kisses Emma’s cheek. “Thank you.” She plucks the strings. “You’ve already tuned it?”
Emma nods with a grin and leans back into Diana’s arms. She looks over at her sisters, who immediately perk up, hiding there crestfallen expressions.
“Can you play something for us, please?” Lucy asks excitedly.
Robyn obliges and starts playing Leave Your Lover by Sam Smith.
Emma bobs her head along and starts breathing with the notes. Suddenly a hum escapes her lips and she shoots up.
Robyn smiles at her and keeps strumming.
“Try again.” Diana whispers and rests her chin on Emma’s shoulder
Emma swallows and breathes along with the chorus, she manages to hum a few more notes before her voice gives out again.
Robyn finishes the song and everyone claps. Kara takes her glasses off to wipe under her eyes and Robyn studies her intently.
“Wow!” Lucy smiles. “That was amazing!” Robyn’s cheeks heat up and she shyly ducks her head.
Diana sniffs and Emma turns her face to her. “I didn’t think I’d ever hear your voice like that.”
“I agree, it’s encouraging.” Brainy gives them a relieved smile.
Robyn continues to strum the guitar as more gifts are handed out and she watches Kara shyly hand Ben her present. He opens it and beams at her.
“Wow! Thank you honey.” He leans over and gently kisses her lips. Kara pulls away with a giddy smile and goes to point at the different camera lenses when Robyn calls over to her.
“Hey Kara?”
Kara’s eyes snap to the brunette. “Yea?” Kara answers and fiddles with her glasses.
“Has anyone ever told you how much you look like Supergirl?”
Everyone momentarily freezes before Kara bursts out laughing. “They have actually but I’m nowhere near as pretty as her, so-”
“Nah you are just as pretty. Maybe it’s the glasses?” Robyn tilts her head and Emma glances over at J’onn. He nods, confirming that Robyn has connected the dots.
“Have you met Supergirl?” Ruby asks intrigued.
“I have actually! Quite up close too.” Robyn continues to pluck the strings and grins. “I was minding my own business in my flat, apartment for you guys, when suddenly Supergirl crashed through my wall looking for Emma! Dust covered every surface leaving a nice Supergirl hole.”
“Hey! It was through your balcony window!” Kara cries out and Robyn’s smile widens. Seeing this Kara stutters and her eyes grow as large as plates.
“How would you know that?” Robyn teases.
“Because I work closely with Supergirl and-”
“Kara, it’s fine, she figured it out.” J’onn tries to reassure her.
“But? How?” Nia asks and Lucy looks at Robyn in awe.
“Well, maybe don’t carry scolding hot trays with your bare hands that would singe the skin off mere mortals? Just a suggestion.” Robyn shugs. “Oh and Emma getting superpowers and how upset you were that you had just missed her, that was a big giveaway.” Robyn says. “Next you’re gonna tell me Diana is Wonder Woman!”
When her comment doesn’t get a reaction Robyn’s head snaps to Emma and Diana and she stops playing.
“You’re-?”
“Yup.” Diana says with a sly grin.
“And I got drunk at Thanksgiving and said how sexy Wonder Woman was and how she is on my list?”
“You did.” Diana says in a low, seductive voice, causing Emma to jokingly wrap her arms possessively around her, making Diana chuckle.
“I need a drink.” Robyn groans and drops her head. “This is a lot to take in.”
Lucy gets up and sits beside the brunette. “Welcome to the club.” She bumps her shoulder into the Brit.
“Thanks.”
“We’ll save the mountains of paperwork you’ll need to sign for later.” Lucy teases.
“Hmm, I figured.” Robyn raises her head and looks over at Kara. “I promise your secret is safe with me.”
“Thank you.” Kara says gratefully and Ben places an arm around her protectively.
“Who wants dessert?” Eliza asks to break the tension and everyone responds positively.
Emma nuzzles her face into Diana’s and smiles at her.
“Oh and Emma?” Eliza calls causing her daughter to spin around and face her. “Would it be a good idea to set Robyn’s bed up in your room? There’s another blow up mattress we haven’t used yet.”
Emma nods and goes to stand. “Shall I come with you?” Diana asks and Emma nods again.
“I’ll bring my bag up too.” Robyn gently places her new guitar in the case and follows the couple upstairs. “This house is seriously amazing. You grew up here?”
Emma nods and opens her bedroom door.
“Oh wow.” Robyn exclaims as she looks around and Emma and Diana clear a space for her by Diana’s side of the bed which has the most room.
Emma grabs the box containing the blow up mattress but it seems to be wedged tight. They laugh and try to wrestle it free for a while until a soft knock sounds on the door.
Diana and Robyn are unable to answer with how much they are laughing so Emma goes to open the door, revealing a nervous looking Alex.
“Hey, do you mind if we talk?” Alex motions to the office she and Sam are sleeping in.
Emma nods and signs to the two brunettes that she’ll be back. She follows her sister and sits on the bed by the window.
“Alright, so-” Alex runs a hand through her hair and sits facing Emma. “I have another present for you but I’d rather you open it in private.” Alex reaches under her pillow and pulls out a wrapped book.
Emma takes it and unwraps it. She tilts her head at the journal in her hands.
“Open it.” Alex says softly and Emma complies. Revealing pages upon pages of Alex’s handwriting, doodles and photographs. “I know I did the video logs but this felt right. To write down my thoughts, memories, how I feel about certain things. I wanted to make it up to you for reading yours.”
Emma closes the book and opens her arms to her sister. They embrace and hold onto each other for a while until Diana knocks on the door.
“Hey, we managed to get the bed set up and your Mom wants to know what desserts you want?”
“Thank you. We will be down in a moment.” Emma signs and Diana closes the door behind her. “Thank you.” Emma signs to her sister and sniffs heavily.
“You’re welcome. I mean, it should come with a warning before you read it and then you’ll probably want to throw it across the room or burn it cause I really go into some detail about certain things and-”
Emma places her hand on top of Alex’s to help her sister’s ramble. “Take a breath.”
Alex does so and laughs. “We better go get some dessert before it’s all gone!”
Emma nods and takes Alex’s hand, momentarily placing the journal in her room before they head downstairs together.
“Finally!” Kara yells happily. “Eliza wouldn’t start serving until you’d come back down.”
“I want everyone to be treated equally.” Eliza explains with a wink. “Who wants pie and who wants yule log?” Eliza calls out and Emma motions for the cinnamon apple pie. The plates are passed around and the group eats while the presents continue to be opened.
“Thank you for the painting.” Diana whispers softly. She had been surprised when Alex had called her name and it was a gift from Emma. “I’m guessing you painted it while I was at work?”
Emma nods and nuzzles her cheek again.
“And this one is for Lena!” Alex stretches to give the stunned raven haired woman the small present.
“Oh.” Lena whispers and reads the label.
‘Dear Lena, happy christmas. Emma x’
Emma nervously watches Lena carefully open the gift with shaking fingers and when she pulls the paper back, her eyes widen when the bracelet is revealed. Lena remains frozen as she stares at it.
“Lee?” Sam asks and leans over. “Oh-” Sam gasps out when she sees the design on the bracelet. “That’s… pretty.”
“Can we see?” Kara asks. “Put it on!
Lena does so, with the help of Sam due to her fingers trembling so much and holds her wrist up.
Lena’s eyes connect with Emma and the familiar warmth spreads through her. “Thank you.” Lena says softly and plays with the chain on her neck. Emma nods and lets out the breath she had been holding. She also doesn’t realise how tightly Diana is holding her, or the barely there scowl on her face as she analyses the bracelet.
Alex’s eyes flick between the three women and starts to sense an unease, like a growing tension appears between them. She turns to her fiancé who gently shakes her head and reaches for another gift. “This one is for-”
The gift opening continues until there are no more presents left under the tree.
“Oh sweetheart, this is too much.” Eliza looks at her little pile and the other little piles around the room but Emma continues to smile.
“It’s different things from our trip to Europe.” Emma explains. “You should have seen the amount Diana and I bought each other!” She turns to smile at her girlfriend but catches a sad look in Diana’s eyes that quickly disappears. Emma tilts her head questioningly but Diana ignores it.
“Oh yea, it almost became a game to see if we could buy items for each other without each other knowing!” Diana laughs, but to Emma, it sounds forced.
“Must have been nice seeing all those different cultures?” Nia says wishfully.
“The best.” Diana says, gently squeezing Emma’s hand.
“What’s for dinner?” Kara asks, making Eliza chuckle.
“It’s leftovers and I baked some bread this morning.”
Kara springs to her feet and goes to help Eliza get the spread ready. Alex and Sam quickly follow to help and Emma motions at Robyn to get her attention off Lucy for a moment.
“Do you want to play together?” Emma signs and points at the piano.
“Yea!” Robyn grins, she grabs her new guitar and the pair head to the piano.
Emma starts playing and Robyn joins in. Filling the room with beautiful, soothing melodies. The Superfriends listen and move or tap along.
The pair play a few songs until the food is ready. Once they finish the last notes the group applaud them.
“Thank you, thank you very much!” Robyn grins and Emma turns around to smile at them. Her eyes search for Diana, but her girlfriend is no longer in the room.
“She went outside.” J’onn softly tells her and Emma nods her thanks.
Opening the back door Emma spots Diana leaning against the railing, watching the sea move in the distance, reflecting the bright moonlight.
Emma approaches and stands beside her, making her presence known. But Diana keeps her gaze fixed on the horizon.
Emma shuffles her feet, feeling slightly anxious by the silent treatment but brushes it off as her insecurities playing tricks on her and just tries to enjoy the moment. Emma places her head on Diana’s shoulder and smiles when Diana gently kisses her.
“I love you, Astéri.” Diana whispers and Emma squeezes her hand.
They continue to stand in silence until the door opens behind them, making Emma straighten. “Heya!” Nia waves. “Sorry to bother you, we are thinking of playing a game. Do you wanna join?”
Emma gazes at Diana who looks back at her before nodding at Nia. “Sounds good.”
“Yay!” Nia claps and goes back into the house announcing to the group the couple were joining them.
Diana goes to follow but Emma keeps a hold of her hand, causing Diana to look back at her.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes, sorry, it’s just been a crazy day.”
“I know right? How about tomorrow it is just us? We go for a hike, take a picnic, just you and I.”
Diana gives her a small smile and nods. “That sounds nice.”
Emma smiles back and leads Diana into the house. They grab some food and settle back on the sofa as Winn sets up the Playstation game ‘That’s you!’
Laughter erupts as they make their own profiles and take their photos. Some use the filters and create funny illusions that Emma likens to the mirrors you see at carnivals. The first round begins and questions get asked. The group have to type their answers into their devices, some from being reasonably sensible to utterly ridiculous and everyone votes on their favourite.
Emma ends up in the lead as the second round begins. It is a drawing round and Emma’s photo gets picked. She sits back and waits for everyone to draw whatever the subject is and silently chuckles at the level of concentration on their faces. Finally each drawing is revealed and everyone cheers and laughs at the different pieces of artwork. Next it is Emma’s role to choose her favourite and she pauses while deciding which one to go for.
“Come on Em!” Ben yells. “You know which one you need to choose!”
“Yea, not the one with the red hat!” Kara quips cheekily causing Ben to give her a look of betrayal.
“You’re gonna run out of time.” J’onn warns Emma and she looks between two she likes the look of. Finally she chooses, revealing the artist’s name.
“Ah well done Lena!” Eliza cheers and the raven haired woman smiles at her.
Diana shuffles a bit beside Emma and a new round begins. This time questions are asked who would be more likely to do something.
“Who’d order takeout and pretend they cooked it?” Lucy reads out and Emma grins.
She presses Alex’s name and waits.
The tokens get revealed and Alex stares at the screen with an open mouth due to almost everyone choosing her. “I would not!”
“Sure babe.” Sam giggles and kisses Alex’s cheek.
“Who’d schedule every hour of your easy-going roadtrip?” Kara reads out and immediately shares a knowing look with Emma. They press their phones at the same time and wait.
“Well I know this one is definitely not me.” Alex says assuringly and waits for the tokens to fall. “WHAT?!” Alex yells in outrage when all but her chosen token falls on her. “I can be easy going!”
Emma lets out a burst of air from her mouth which suddenly transforms into a laugh. Everyone's heads snap to hers and the room is uplifted with a buzz of happiness. The round continues and Emma is still one of the front runners, closely followed by Brainy and Lena.
“Ooo it’s the drawing round!” Lucy exclaims as the last round begins and poses with her phone. Each contestant has been given a different instruction of how to pose.
Emma ignores her phone for a moment and raises her hand to feel her throat, still unused to the sensation of her vocal cords working.
The seed of hope within her feels like it’s starting to grow and bloom and Emma starts to believe in it.
Glancing down at her phone she snorts at the text saying she needed to take a photo of her looking angelic. She takes the photo and waits for the round to begin. They have a limited amount of time to draw a bit on each photo until the round ends and a winner is chosen.
The Superfriends howl with laughter at some of the results and Emma silently laughs with them. Feeling happy that today has turned out so well.
The Tower (SuperCorp)
William and Kara stood in the tower awkwardly at the end of the night. Kara awkwardly held on to the love totem, which disguised itself as an unamusing figurine of a statue. The two intentionally refused to meet each other’s gaze as their cheeks flushed red.
“So…” The two of them seemed to say at the same time. Their blushes only deepened.
“The love totem…” William hissed uncomfortably as he clapped his hands together.
“The love totem…” Kara gave a sharp nod.
She didn’t know about William, but she was thoroughly embarrassed by the events of the day. She was embarrassed by how the love totem made her fall madly in love with the person closest to her, who at the time was William.
“And you’re Supergirl…?” William pointed at Kara, who was currently wearing her super suit. “Moreover, you’re Kara.” William looked around the cave. “And Nia is Dreamer?’ William gave a sharp, irritated, annoyed, and slightly embarrassed nod.
“I guess that’s how Nia and you always know what the Super Friends are doing, and why Alex, her girlfriend, and Lena are always hanging around.” William could kick himself. He felt stupid for not seeing it earlier. Especially, since Supergirl didn’t even wear a mask. “Does Andrea know?” William asked.
“No.” Kara shook her head quickly. “Of course not.”
“I just wish.” William grumbled more to himself, then to Kara. “That you had told me that you are Supergirl. I mean I spend so much time with all of you.”
Guilt began to wash over Kara. She remembered her experience telling Lena that she was Supergirl. Then she sharply shook her head. No, she didn’t feel guilty. She wasn’t going to do that to herself. It was her right to tell people, and everyone Kara knew didn’t have to know. Even though she wasn’t planning to reveal her secret to William, he now knew on her terms.
“I’m sorry William. I am, but I’m not. I did what I did to protect everyone here and the people I care about. Now, that you know, I trust that you won’t tell anyone else.”
Initially, it felt like a strong rebuke, but William accepted it graciously.
Kara felt awkward. She usually wasn’t so forward, but she was proud of herself.
“I am going to go put this away, so that it can never be used for evil again.”
“Actually, Kara wait...?”
At that moment, Nia walked up to the two of them, felt the uncomfortable tension in the air and quickly excused herself with a haphazard excuse.
“Yes… William…” Kara turned to face him.
“Even though, the love totem’s gauntlet created an infatuated sense of love within us for one another, it has helped me to realize my true feelings for you. Kara when you left to collaborate with Cat Grant, I started seeing someone else. However, I now see that I should have waited for you to come home. Kara Danvers I am stricken by how amazing you are.”
Kara’s jaw dropped at William’s confession. She was so mesmerized by his words that she didn’t even she Lena approach. It had been so long since Kara had been in a relationship. She had been single since Mon-El left. All of her friends had a special someone to share their lives with. The love totem left Kara wondering if she wanted that to if she needed that to. Was William…
“I’m sorry to interrupt.” Lena’s presence cut through both William and Kara’s thoughts. “I wanted to ask Kara a… Never mind. I see that I had interrupted an important conversation.” Lena swallowed hard. Her eyes looked… misty to Kara.
Kara blinked as she looked over at her best friend. Lena gave a stiff, apologetic smile and left to find Nia.
“Ugh… William…” Kara took a minute to gather her thoughts as she looked after Lena. “I am so flattered, but after the love totem… I need sometime to think. I mean before I went to see Cat Grant. I mean no…” Kara shook her head. “I didn’t go to see Cat. I was trapped in the Phantom Zone. Before I was trapped in the Phantom Zone, all I could think about was you. After I got out of the Phantom Zone, I felt so guilty that I left you hanging without an explanation.”
“You don’t have to apologize for that.” William smiled softly as he stepped closer to Kara and moved to lay a hand gently on her cheek. Kara took a small sidestep away. William closed his hand and then lowered his arm back to his side. “If I had known that you were in the Phantom Zone, in danger, I would have done anything and everything in my power to get you back.”
“I believe you.” Kara smiled. “However, I need time to think through my true thoughts. I buried my feelings for you after you told me that you were seeing someone else.”
“I understand.”
“Thank you.” Kara flashed Willaim a tense, small smile. “Good night, William. I will see you tomorrow.”
“Good night, Kara.” William said, his heart skipped a beat as he felt partially victorious. He leaned in to give Kara a quick kiss on the cheek, but he thought better of it. He knew that they would have plenty of time for that going forward.
Kara looked around the main room of the tower. She felt so confused right now. All of her emotions felt scrambled because of the love totem. She found herself revisiting past romantic feelings for James, Mon-El, William, and even Winn. She, also, couldn’t shake feelings for…
“Lena.” Kara breathed in surprise as Lena quickly tried to cut through the observation room.
Lena chuckled. She looked embarrassed; her eyes were still misty.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know if you were still in here with William. I forgot my mother’s book of spells. I was thinking about just getting it tomorrow, but it’s the last piece I have of her…” Lena kind of trailed off.
“It’s okay. I understand” Kara reassured her. “Hey… I know it’s late, but I have to put this love totem away. I am planning to put it in the Fortress’ archives. Do you want to go with me?”
“Sure…” Lena nodded somewhat enthusiastically. “I can teleport us.
“Actually,” Kara shook her head. “Is it okay if we fly tonight?”
“Okay…” Lena blushed averting her eyes from her best friend, and Kara flew Lena and herself up to the Fortress of Solitude.
When they arrived, Kara was quick to put away the totem, knowing that Lena must be cold. She then un-snapped her cape from her shoulders and gently placed it over Lena’s shoulders so that she wouldn’t be cold.
“You’re cape.” Lena ran her hands over the high polymer fabric softly. Even though, Lena created Kara’s suit, she was shocked by how warm Kara’s cape was. “I guess now I can fly like you.” Lena joked.
“With all of your newfound magical abilities, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s true.”
“Yeah, but I think I’ll always prefer flying with you.”
A deep blush covered both women’s faces and made its way to their ears.
“So, the love totem…” Lena drew out slowly. “It stirred up a lot of feelings for William I see.” Lean fought the familiar stinging sensation in her eyes and her nose.
“Yeah… it did. It stirred up a lot of feelings for me as well.” Kara shook her head. “A lot of them have been hard to make sense of, but now one of them is really clear.”
“Oh really…?” Lena restrained herself from speaking and braced herself for what her best friend had to say. Earlier that night, Lena went to tell Kara how she really felt after all of these years. Although, after seeing her talking to William, none of that seemed to matter now.
“I love you, Lena.” Kara admitted without fear. “I just want you to know that.”
“I love you too.”
“You’re my best friend.”
“And your mine.” Lena smiled, feeling her heartbreak. Being friend zoned like this was just… It was too much after dealing with the love totem this morning.
“You make me feel seen like no one else.” Kara spoke firmly. “You make me feel heard like no one else. You make me feel held like no one else. If I am being honest then if I am not with you… Next to you is the only place I want to be.”
A sob broke through Lena’s chest as she became overwhelmed with emotions.
“What about William?”
“Yeah…” Kara nodded, “The love totem did make me consider my emotions for him. At one point, I did think that he and I could maybe be… together. Especially, when you and I were fighting, but you… You have always been the person that I have never wanted to lose.
“Kara…” Lena shook her head as she felt Kara step closer to her. “Before you… I didn’t know love or kindness. I didn’t know true altruism. All I knew selfish ambition, and I believed that I wasn’t a worthwhile person. Then you came into my life… You made me feel safe. You made me feel love. You made me feel brave. You made me feel hope. I don’t believe in anything like I believe in you.”
“Lena…” Kara smiled. Now tears were running down Kara’s cheeks. “When I see you, all I see is love, kindness, and altruism. You are so brave. You are so loving. I don’t know a better woman. I believe in you, and you make me believe in myself.”
“Lena…” Kara shook her head. “I’ve never felt this feeling with anyone else, and I don’t want to miss feeling this feeling with you just because we are both women. I’ve never considered myself to be attracted to women, but you have changed everything for me.” Another tear ran down Kara’s cheek, and Lena gently whipped it away with her thumb.
“Why didn’t you tell William how you felt earlier?” Lena asked softly.
“Because, I haven’t seen you all day, and standing in front of you now… It is all so clear.”
“I love you.” Kara breathed again as she closed the small space between Lena and her.
“I love you too.” Lena whispered.
With that, Kara firmly pressed her lips against Lena’s lips.
“Finally!” Alex exclaimed standing next to Kelly and Nia. “You guys have been driving us crazy for years!”
“How did you guys get here?” Kara asked Alex startled as she pulled Lena into her arms.
“We used Lena’s portal.”
“Why are you guys here?” Kara asked even more flustered.
“We had to make sure you didn’t make a mistake and end up with William!” Nia exclaimed.
“Yeah,” Alex rolled her eyes with a scoff. “We need to make sure that you didn’t have another Mon-El situation.”
“I mean don’t get us wrong.” Kelly chimed in. “We like William, but for you, we like Lena better.”
Lena bit her lip. She laughed and smiled in embarrassment. Kara chuckled as well. She bit her lip, leaned in, and enjoyed kissing her now girlfriend for the second time.
She’s Home
Tumblr media
Summary: Reader and Lena haven’t seen each other in almost a month due to different work schedules.
Warning: Fluff
A/n: Lena Luthor deserves this
Lena Luthor x Reader, Baby Danvers
Word Count: 1350
“I miss Lena,” you melted on Kara’s couch. Your back parallel to the floor.
Alex kicked your hip and you fell into the floor. “She left for Germany two weeks ago, she’s coming back today.”
“I know but I haven’t seen her in a month. I was in Japan. Andrea insisted I should be the photographer to cover the events in Akihabara with Obsidian North’s launch there. And when I came back Lena was leaving.” You sat up messing with the Uno cards in your hands.
“Lena tells me you FaceTime her everyday,” Sam placed down a blue skip.
Sam transferred back to National City to help Lena at L-Corp, with the addition of getting tea from the rest of Superfriends. Ruby didn’t mind the move. She loved being with a family that loved her and welcomed her and her mom, Metropolis was really only her and Sam. Ruby however opted out of New Years wanting it to celebrate with her friends.
“Yeah but that’s different than getting to hold her and -”
Alex threw a pillow at your head. She pointed with a glare and with her hand that held a beer bottle. “Don’t you dare finish that sentence.”
“I was gonna say kiss her,” you threw the pillow back onto Alex’s head “but now that you’ve said that I mean hearing her moan my name as she digs her nails into my back.” You smirked and raised your eyebrows at Alex.
Alex groaned and downed the rest of her beer. J’onn and Kelly laughed as Nia cheered. Kara squirmed in her seat as Brainy sat confused.
“I don’t get it, what does Lena have to do with scratching your back, I have some spots I can’t reach.” Brainy looked around the room.
“Let’s end this conversation please. I do not want to hear my baby sister and my best friend,” Kara fiddled with her glasses and cleared her throat.
“Yeah well Alex started it.”
Alex raised her middle finger up to you “At least I can hold and kiss my girlfriend.” She said as she kissed Kelly.
“I’m gonna kill you.”
“With what shutter speed?” Alex mocked.
“With ISO and burn your damn eyes!” You threw your cards at Alex.
The plane dinged alerting its passengers. We will be landing in 30 minutes, it is currently 14:13 and 59°F/15°C in National City. Thank you for flying with United Airlines and welcome to National City.
You were excited to be home and a little bummed that Lena would be flying out to Germany. Once the plane landed you immediately ran through with your camera bag and passed the baggage claim area knowing you could get your luggage later.
You and Lena had taken a few trips together for you to know where her private plane would be boarding. Unfortunately the exit that led to Lena’s private jet was not accessible without confirmation.
Your girlfriend was so well put together. You could see the bun on her head that you knew pulled on her scalp. She wore a red blouse with black dress pants, a blazer matched with Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses and her red lipstick.
You knocked on the glass hoping she would spare a glance your way. Fortunately that caught her attention as she walked onto the stairs to the private jet. You blew multiple air kisses towards Lena’s direction and finished with a shimmy and a heart above your head.
The CEO threw her head back and held her stomach. Her eyes immediately grew wide as her arms reached for the rails to catch her balance. She had a hand on her heart, smiled genuinely and moved to blow you a kiss.
You waved until the private jet doors closed behind her. You immediately received a text from your girlfriend reading
Beautiful 💕:I’m sorry we couldn’t physically be together before I left but I’m glad I got to see you. I love you so much.
You: I love you too beautiful. I miss you already.
Beautiful 💕: Kara’s waiting for you outside. Welcome home love.
Your’s and Lena’s apartment was lonely without the other. When you were in Japan, Lena stayed with Kara and while Lena had been away , you stayed with Kara.
KNOCK KNOCK
Kara lowered her glasses and turned towards you. I think you should get it.
“Why?” You asked as you stood up.
You didn’t get an answer when you opened the door and was met with the most beautiful woman in the world. The second of shock quickly disappeared as you pulled Lena into a hug and spun her around.
“You’re home!” You placed several kisses on her cheek. “God I missed you,” you whispered and kissed her lips.
“I missed you too,” Lena whispered back and kissed you once again.
“So glad you’re home, I would’ve been stuck kissing a pillow like Kara at midnight.” Lena laughed as a pillow flew towards your head.
“Okay annual New Years tradition. One thing you are thankful for this year, what you are looking forward to for next year.” Alex cracked open a beer.
You pulled Lena towards Kara’s kitchen island and poured her a glass of wine. The green eyed beauty already settled into her spot on the corner of the couch. You made your way over and heard the little snippet from Sam.
“I hope she isn’t a full teenager next year.” Sam sighed.
“She’s turning 16 next year?” You questioned.
“It’s so fast, definitely looking forward to teen angst next year.” Sam said sarcastically and rolled her eyes.
“We can help with that when we can,” Kara smiled.
“I’m sure Eliza had a handful with Alex and (Y/n).” J’onn chuckled.
“Nuh-uh just Alex, all I wanted to do was to take photos whenever, where ever.”
“I recall you moved out and stayed with me for a month because mom wouldn’t let you get a camera.” Alex smiled.
“I’m sure you all had your rebellious teen years but no one beats mine,” Lena smirked. “Should’ve seen Lillian’s face when I dyed my hair, got piercings, tattoos, and listened to punk rock.”
“You all are making this harder on me,” Sam groaned. “Lena you go next.”
“Well I know I say this every year but I am really thankful for all of you. Luthors don’t have good relationships with family and we certainly don’t have friends. You guys make me feel like I’m home.” Awws echoed around the room as everyone stood to enclose the Luthor in a hug. “I am looking forward to more vacations.”
“Woah, Lena Luthor taking vacations!” Nia cheered.
“I think we are all grateful for each other,” You said and received hums in agreement.
“And what are you looking forward to?” Kelly asked.
“Is it a little selfish to wish it all stayed the same. I have the girl of my dreams,” you kissed the crown of Lena’s head. “an amazing family, a new amazing job.”
“New job?” Brainy questioned.
“Oh! I’m taking a break from Catco for a bit, I got a job as DP in a feature film called ‘Control’.”
Kara screamed. “RAO! THAT’S AMAZING! THAT IS LITERALLY YOUR DREAM!”
“Is filming going to be here in National City?” Alex asked.
“Most of the shooting will be done in Vancouver and some other places as well.”
“OMG! Is that why Lena is taking so many vacations?” Nia squealed.
Lena blushed.
“I told her before I went to Japan.”
“Of course, I will still be able to work, I think it’s nice to just enjoy being with my girlfriend.”
“I will cheers to that,” Alex kissed Kelly.
“I don’t mind either, home is wherever Lena is. She’s home.”
Superfriends continued to celebrate their achievements the past year and to opportunities the next year brings. By midnight everyone, including Kara, was drunk or at least a little tipsy. Everyone was on their feet counting the last seconds of the year. When the ball dropped, Alex and Kelly kissed, Brainy and Nia kissed shortly, and you and Lena kissed while Sam, J’onn and Kara hugged each other.
as a prompt: these stupid hats w lena, kara, and alex respectively
disclaimer: i wrote this at 12:30 am running on the sugar high of an ice cold ovaltine drink topped with salted caramel ice cream that tastes more like salt than caramel and all of this was written without proofreading and prior research, so...read at your own risk.
Alex wanted to burn the picture. She wanted it out of her sight. She wanted to see it up in flames until it has disintegrated into a million pieces. But...Kelly said she can’t. So, there on the mantel above the fireplace of their home stands a framed picture—a stupid picture, in Alex’s perspective—with Kara grinning in the middle, Lena on her left wearing a shy smile, and Alex wearing the biggest scowl on her face, arms crossed as Kara slung both arms around her and Lena. The three of them wearing the most stupid caps in the history of stupid caps.
See, there’s a story behind said stupid caps with the stupid captions on them. It was Nia who gave them the stupid caps. Two weeks after Alex told them the story...
A story Alex wishes no older sister ever has the tragedy of experiencing.
It started with a phone call in the middle of the night, as every good tragedy story starts with.
Kelly shakes her awake, "Babe, your phone s'ringing," she slurs sleepily. The shrill ringing finally breaking through Alex's sleepy stupor.
Who the fuck calls at 2 am? It was an unknown number which made Alex's heart rate speed. Oh God, what if something’s happened to their mother?
"Hello?"
"Hello, is this Alexandra Danvers?"
It was too formal for a call in the middle of the night. Oh God, it's a hospital isn't it? Oh fuck, fuck, fuck—
"Uh, yes, yes this is Danvers, speaking."
She tries to keep the panic in control.
"Ms. Danvers, this is Officer Brooke of NCPD, your sister, Kara Danvers, is now currently detained in our precinct for—"
Alex mind decided to dissociate the moment she heard the words; public indecency, bail and misdemeanor.
“Thank you for informing me, officer. I’ll be there in ten minutes.”
Because, WHAT THE FUCK?
You know that moment when something just shitty happens, and your body just goes into robot mode? Alex searching her bag and wrangling for her keys is what wakes Kelly up.
"Alex? What are you doing? Where are you going?"
How do you tell your girlfriend that your sister and her girlfriend couldn't keep it in their pants, and now, she has to bail them out for acting like two horny teenagers?
Good God, this is a PR disaster, if one—just one paparazzi—caught wind that Lena Luthor is sitting in a cell right now, with about five other drunks and one kid whose pushing drugs, the media would have a field day.
“Uhm, I have to go get Kara from a precinct. It’s a long story, babe. Go sleep. I’ll tell you in the morning.”
“Oh my god, precinct? What happened? Is she okay?”
Kelly bless her heart, was concerned about her sister’s wellbeing. Meanwhile, all Alex wants to do was punch the shit out of her. Never mind the fact that it would probably harm Alex more than Kara, but she’s fucking pissed. This is so stupid, of all the fucking bad decisions that would land Kara Danvers in jail, it’s public sex.
She doesn’t need this shit.
“She’s okay, don’t worry,” Alex utters, thinking, Well, she isn’t gonna be okay once I’m done with her.
“Go back to sleep, promise it’s nothing big. I gotta go now.”
***
“Alex!" Kara exclaims, behind bars. That's a sentence she'll never thought she'd associate with Kara. "Thank Rao, you’re here, we--”
“WHAT THE FUCK WERE THE BOTH OF YOU—" Alex pauses mid-yell, when she sees Lena stumble behind Kara, "Are you drunk?!!”
“Oh my God, I swear to God, I’m going to die early because of your bullshit.”
Alex played the “I have the number of the Chief of Police and I can get your badge suspended since I am also the Director of a covert government agency, if you do not give me my sister and her girlfriend, right this instant” card. And now, she’s faced with a blushing Kara and an apparently still very drunk, very disheveled looking Lena Luthor.
“We’re sorry!!”
“Oh, oh you better fucking be sorry, you’re telling J’onn I need my brain bleached tomorrow morning. Public indecency for fuck’s sake. You’re a billionaire couldn’t you have just called your driver?!”
“Oh, uhm well, uh we kind of uh I kind of--”
Oh my God, Lena Luthor is into exhibitionism.
“Fuck. Okay, fine, whatever you’re forgiven I don’t give a shit anymore,just please shut up and please, please do not talk to me for the next 48 hours. Both of you. Understood?”
***
Apparently, Lena dragged Kara to Al’s claiming that, Kara what you need is a good drink. When’s the last time you experienced even a mild buzz?
And so, to the bar they went. Lena sending her driver home for the night, knowing that the both of them would be staying out late, and she can definitely just call an Uber or something, or maybe Kara wouldn’t really get drunk and they can just fly home.
But none of those happened. Instead, what happened is Kara getting wasted like never before, and Lena going down right along with her. And as usual as things go with these two, an innocent kiss outside the bar quickly escalated into something...more.
And now, here they were blushing and unable to look Alex in the eye in the back of Kelly’s car. Alex couldn’t exactly pick two drunk women with her bike could she?
She really didn’t know a person can be capable of feeling this much rage and exasperation but apparently, it is so very possible.
The moment they arrive at Lena’s place, she doesn’t even tell them goodbye or acknowledge their sorry’s and thank you’s, she just stares ahead, knuckles white around the steering wheel as she hears the car door close.
***
“It’s a very funny picture, Alex,” Kelly whispers in her ear, hugging her from behind as Alex glares at the newly-framed photo.
“That wasn’t a fun night, and this isn’t a funny photo. It’s a traumatic reminder, Kelly.”
“Stop being dramatic. It’s a cute photo. Nia really captured the essence, you know?”
Kelly lets out a laugh at Alex’s knitted eyebrows, once she spins around in her arms to face her.
“They better call Nia the next time they get arrested.”
“You think there’s gonna be a next time?”
“Kelly, it’s Kara and Lena. There’s gonna be a next time.”
Omega Lena Luthor x Alpha Reader
————————————
First Day of School
Danvers Household
The Danvers, the famous kind family with three dashing Alphas. Eliza and Jeremiah are proud of producing three strong women alphas. The oldest (Y/N) Danvers, the most popular jock in their highschool. You're proud to be the captain and quarterback of the Midvale’s football team. The omegas from all grades adore your looks and muscles but they didn’t stand a chance since you were dating the cheerleading captain, Cat Grant.
Cat dumped you during summer break and your inner alpha felt heartbroken. She left you for Maxwell Lord, the snobby rich alpha with little or none manners. You learned to let go during the summer and focused on getting that athlete scholarship during your last year of highschool and just move on with your life. Recently you became more reckless with your alpha actions, getting into fights, not listening to your parents. You were a mess that your sisters had to watch over you, to avoid getting yourself into further trouble.
The second oldest, Alex Danvers is also popular, known for her smarts for science but also the captain of the basketball team. Alex has always looked up to you as a role model. She basically became a tough looking alpha just like her older sister. But under those tough looks, she’s soft as a teddy bear, as her girlfriend, Sam Arias, declares it.
The youngest alpha in the family is Kara Danvers. The well known ball of sunshine and kindness. People often underestimate the blonde. Her alpha side is not something to be messed with. Bigger alphas would bully the youngest Danvers but they would run for the hills if Alex and you teach them a lesson on what happens when you mess with their youngest sister. Kara loves her sisters so much but she also loves her omega girlfriend, Lucy Lane , for always supporting her.
You're happy that your sisters have girlfriends and glad that they picked the best omegas from your shared high school. You don’t have to worry about the omegas being a distraction to your sisters’ studies. Whenever they’re in heat, they know best to stay away from their alphas and sit out. Eliza is thankful to not worry about being a grandma so soon.
“(Y/N)! Wake up! Mom has been calling you for breakfast!” Alex pounds on the door of your bedroom. You groan and growl at the door.
“I’ll be there!” You yelled back. You’re glad that you have your own room. Unfortunately, Alex and Kara have to share a bedroom. Sometimes you would hear them arguing next door on the stupidest things.
“Agh. First day of senior year here we go.” You said to yourself as you push your blankets away.
***
“Sam! Can you drive a little slower?!” Lena yells at her driver. She doesn’t know why she agreed to ride with her best friend to school if her life is endangered.
“Lena. It’s our first day of being juniors. I don’t want to be late!”
“We’re an hour early! You literally just want to see your girlfriend and ride her dick in the locker rooms.” Lena huffs.
The omega is happy that her best friend is dating a popular yet caring alpha but it can be annoying to watch them tongue each other’s throats in public. Lena wishes she had an alpha to look forward to but ever since she dumped Jack, she hasn’t been able to find another great alpha.
The reason the raven haired dump the alpha is that he would often ask her to have sex. Lena felt uncomfortable and she was only 15 years old at the time and he was a senior. He was the legal age of having sexual intercourse. Lena didn’t like being pressure into having sex so she broke things off and was content when he left for college. Lena wants to pick someone special to take her virginity and hopes to find that someone soon.
Sam ease off on the gas so that her passenger doesn’t contract a heart attack. A muscle car pulls up next to Sam’s car. The car is too familiar to the omegas. They've been seeing that classic black Ford Mustang fastback all summer.
The Danvers sisters are inside that car. The oldest Danvers revs the car again, annoying the two omegas inside their own car. Sam got a bit distracted as she saw the second oldest Danvers giving her certain looks that any omega would like to see. Lena saw that Kara was shaking her head, not wanting to be part of her sisters’ reckless act.
The alpha speeds up and cuts Sam off. Sam honks at the mustang, “Jackass.”
Lena laughs, “maybe if you weren’t so distracted looking at your alpha, (Y/N) wouldn’t have cut you off.”
Sam didn’t park too far from the alphas, they both got off at the same time. Lucy from afar, ran into Kara’s arms and gave her a longing kiss for everyone to witness. Sam didn’t want to embarrass herself like that and waited for Alex to walk over to them.
“Good morning, babe.” Alex lifts up Sam off her feet and Lena gags.
Not wanting to witness their affection, her eyes fall to the older Danvers stepping out of the car last. You wore sunglasses and simple black jeans with white fitted t-shirt. You saw your sisters run to their girlfriends and you just roll your eyes at them. You didn’t bother to wait for them and just make your way inside the school campus grounds to go hang with your jock friends.
“I see that you’re checking out the oldest Danvers.” Sam teases Lena.
“Wait what? Are you seriously checking out my sister, Luthor?”
Lena can’t help to admit that you’re the most handsome looking alpha she has ever seen in this highschool and that she developed a small crush over you since her freshman year. Besides dumping Jack for pressuring sex onto her, she also did it for you. She had this little hope that would be her loving alpha but when she found out that you got together with Cat, she was broken into tears.
“You know she’s single right? Cat dumped her during the summer.” Sam informs Lena.
The raven haired already knew that from Kara. She mentally keeps tabs on the older Danvers and Kara just feeds her information not knowing that she’s helping her. During the summer break, Lena would often visit the Danvers household to hang out with Kara and Alex but you were never there when she visited. You often found yourself helping your father or out with friends during the early morning.
“I heard it first from Kara.” Lena replies to Sam.
“I’m giving you permission to go after my knot head sister.” Alex surprisingly tells her.
“Your sister doesn’t know I exist. Plus why would she want to date a small nerdy omega?”
It’s true that Lena is a nerd but she’s the most popular nerd in the whole school. She takes advanced classes, joins after programs and clubs to help boost her chances into getting into MIT. Lena is sure that you only saw her a few times ever since you met through your sisters and swears that you don’t remember her.
The school bell rings and everyone heads to their first class of the day.
During Lena’s history class, she doesn’t bother to give her full attention since she already knows everything and already did advance research of U.S history during the summer break. At the moment, Lena was thinking how it can be possible to date the oldest Danvers but it can be nearly impossible. Omegas are not known to court alphas. She wonders if she can grab the alpha jock’s attention but since she’s a Junior, she knows that she won’t have any classes with her. Lena nearly gives up on the silly idea. Maybe she’ll just need to move on.
***
It’s nearly the end of the day and Lena is looking forward to her last class, Microbiology. A class where only seniors can take but Lena’s mother, Lillian, helped talk the school board into letting Lena take the class since she already took all the other science classes and passed with A’s.
The raven haired was one of the few to arrive early and picked a seating of her choice. She picks a seat in the back to not draw much attention to herself for the semester. Lena keeps herself but checking her phone while the seniors pour themselves inside the room.
She felt a little lonely for not having friends in this class but she was content that she has classes with Sam and Alex. She also has elective classes with Kara and Winn. A few seniors recognized Lena on the way in and had a short conversation with the only junior in the class. Andrea Rojas, a cheerleader that Lena is friends with, sits before her.
The microbiology teacher who’s also the coach of the football team, starts to take attendance. It goes by alphabetical order and everyone just quieta down to hear their names be called.
“(Y/N) Danvers?!” Mr. Jonn J'onzz says out loud.
Lena’s head perks up and scans the room to find the older Danvers but apparently she’s nowhere to be found.
“Danvers?” Mr. J’onzz calls out again. He scans the room carefully and looks for anyone connected to the missing student.
“Gand! Where’s (Y/N)?”
Mike also known as Mon-El, a football player, answers, “I- um. I actually don’t know Coach.”
“Since she’s not here she better be at practice or else the whole team will be doing suicides for warm-up.” The coach threatens.
Mr. J’onzz is upset that his star player has ditched class but he resumes to take attendance and start the lecture. Lena wonders where the alpha jock went, she hides her phone under her desk and texts another senior she knows. She doesn’t want to text either of the Danvers sisters.
Lena: Mags, do you know where (Y/N) is at?
Maggie: Big D? Nope. She should be in class. Why?
Lena rolls her eyes at the older Danvers’ nickname. She can’t believe people call her that but she blushes on the reason why she earned that name. There’s been rumors going around that (Y/N)’s dick is huge and was exposed during one of the wild highschool parties.
Maggie was the one who started the nickname and decided to nickname all the Danvers sisters as well. She called Alex “Mid D” and Kara “Little D or Little Danvers.” Little did everyone know, all the Danvers have huge cocks and their girlfriends can certify that information.
Lena: She’s supposed to be in my microbio class.
Maggie: Hmm. I’ll look into it
The raven haired locks her phone and pays attention to the lecture again. It was long until Lena’s phone vibrated a text message.
Maggie: So . . Big D is getting a BJ from one of the cheerleaders.
Of course. Lena thought to herself.
“Okay class! This semester I’m going to pair you up with a partner. The project will be about collecting samples from different environments and studying what type of bacteria is out there. The due date is TBA but I suggest you start it early and not last minute. The project is worth 300 points of your grade.” Mr. J’onzz announces.
The teacher proceeds to read of the pairs of students for the project in his clipboard. The students were getting noisy as the pairs were being announced. A few were disappointed in who they got while others were filled with joy.
“Lena Luthor! You’re partners with (Y/N) Danvers!”
Lena looked up quickly when she heard her partner’s name. She sees that half of the class looked at her when they found out that their most cherished alpha is partners with a junior omega who’s known for her genius side. The raven haired caught a few omegas looking at her with disgust but she managed to ignore.
“Fuck.” Lena mumbled to herself. She can’t believe she’s paired off with her long time crush. It can’t be that bad right? She’s close with the younger sisters, doesn’t mean she can’t be friendly and close with the oldest Danvers sister as well. Or can she?
Oh you could write one where reader and Supergirl are fighting together against some supervillain and reader gets hurt and almost dies and Kara is freaking out because she can't lose her girlfriend and just... angst (please don't kill reader though, i'm begging you)
Kara Danvers x Reader #5
Words: 1,905
Tumblr media
Warnings: Angst, Explosion not described in detail. Just an aftermath.
Notes:
MWHAHAHA! I technically didn’t listen to your plead...so i’m sorry? (Thank you for the request and sorry for all spelling mistakes)
——
They were kids.
You weren’t bulletproof like Kara, definitely not grenade proof, you knew that...but they were kids. Kids clutching onto their mom looking terrified. Terrified that their mom would get hurt, terrified that the three of them were going to die.
You’re terrified too. Lately as your life has gotten better with Kara, beautiful, caring Kara, you’ve been getting more scared everyday, scared that something was going to happen to ruin your happiness.
The fear is almost enough to paralyze you when you see the latest National City supervillain get ready to throw the grenade, but alas...when the man throws the grenade the stupid instinct to protect overtakes you and you jump into the air to catch it like a ball, before it can get to close to the family.
You’re more invincible than them, even if you’re not nearly as invincible as Kara...it’s time to test that theory, you think bitterly.
Turns out—when the grenade goes off and a piercing scream hits the air—you’re not that much more invincible than a regular human.
Kara, you think, tears running down your face, Kara, Kara, Kara. Kara. Everything hurts but all you can think about is Kara and whether or not she’s going to be okay fighting without you. Forever, possibly. Fighting without you forever, and just thinking about your death feels like ice water being poured over you until the cold sinks in and it’s just panic.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
It takes moments before she’s by your side, moments that feel like a lifetime, she was slowed by the kryptonite she was fighting against and wasn’t able to get to you in time when the grenade went off but now she’s here, and she’s sobbing. Sobs that wrack her body, and you’re trying to sit up despite the ringing in your ear.
“Kara!” You yell, eyes wide, and you don’t want to be doing this to her, you want to pretend like you’re okay with this—you want to be strong for her—but you can’t. You can’t, because holy fuck. Fuck. “I can’t feel my legs, Kara. Baby, I can’t feel anything. I can’t...why can’t I move?”
Kara places a hand on your chest, and you can feel that, it hurts, “Alex,” she says into the comms, “it’s Y/N...she’s badly injured. I can’t bring her to the DEO, I can’t fly; the kryptonite is still in the air around us, and I can’t move her away from it either.”
You hear Kara’s panicked voice next to you, and when you focus you hear it in your own comms.
Alex’s voice crackles through immediately, and even she sounds scared, “how bad, Kara?”
“She says she can’t feel her legs, and she...she’s losing a lot of blood. She’s cold, too, and her breathing is labored,” Kara’s practically ranting now, her fingers shaking against your chest. “I’d put pressure on the wound but there’s a lot of blood and I don’t know—”
You turn your face away from Kara when her hand travels to your cheek, and you try to tune her out, because her face...it really says everything about your condition, and you don’t want to hear Kara talk about all of the ways you’re dying.
You catch the last thing Alex says and it fills you with dread that makes your bones feel even heavier, “keep her awake, Kara. There’s no telling if she’ll wake up again if she falls asleep now.”
Kara’s resulting sob rips your heart to shreds.
“I didn’t realize until I met you how much I don’t want to die,” you tell her after a moment filled with her cries. You’ve never felt so scared in your life (besides after Kara’s fight with Reign) “but I really don’t want to, Kara. I really don’t want to.”
“You won’t,” Kara says, trying to give you a reassuring smile, “you won’t because I need you to stay. What am I supposed to do without you?” She tries to laugh afterwards but it’s really just a choked sound, and you can hear the fear in her words.
The iron taste that was on your tongue felt like death, but now as you slowly start to taste it less, and as the smell of gasoline slowly slips away, you wonder if this is really a sign of death. The reapers signature.
“You’ll live.” You say, “you have to. There’s no other choice.” Your voice is filled with too much certainty for a dying woman, “It’ll be fine. You’ll get to eat the last popsicle in the fridge,” a humorless chuckle forces its way out of your throat, “I hid it. It’s under the frozen peas.”
You can tell by the look on Kara’s face what she’s thinking about. A half empty bed when she goes home alone to your shared apartment, your favorite mug sitting on the counter half full of cold coffee, your dishes still in her sink—your sink—your clothes in the washing machine, your…
“I can’t,” Kara whispers, her voice filled with the amount of sorrow only she can manage, “I can’t lose two of my worlds. I’m not strong enough.”
Kara Zor-El not being strong enough. It’s a humorous thought. You know Kara will fight, she’ll fight because it’s all she knows. She’ll find her reason. She won’t give up on the world, even if she gives up on herself for some time. It’s the one thing you need to be sure of right now.
“Yeah you are,” you mumble, trying to lift your shaky hand to cup her cheek. She grabs a hold of your hand and helps you to your destination. You try not to scream curses at the world at the sight of your blood on her pale cheek. “You, Kara Danvers, are an anomaly in the way you never let anything knock you down.”
“This is enough,” Kara promises, and it’s the last promise you’d ever want to hear from her, “you’re enough to ruin me.”
“Kara,” you whisper, hating the world so furiously in that moment for all it wants to take. “That’s the last thing I want to hear...I only ever want to build you up.”
“And you do,” Kara says, “but love really does both, doesn’t it? Sometimes it hurts as much as it heals.”
“That isn’t fair,” you whimper out, and Kara nods against your hand, closing her eyes and trying not to breathe in the smell of your blood.
Moments later Kara opens her eyes in a panic after realizing that you haven’t spoken, only to see you trying to blink your eyes awake. She squeezes your hand repeatedly, trying to get your attention. “Y/N, it’s not time.” She tells you desperately, “it’s not time.”
One of her tears fall against your cheek, causing you to pout. “Stop crying,” you slur, delirious from the blood loss, “I resent it when you cry because of me.”
Kara shakes her head, only crying harder.
You smile up at her sadly, “I'm sorry i’m dying.” And you mean it.
“Stop saying that,” Kara pleads, like it’s breaking her, “stop.”
You wish you could give Kara what she wants but your eyelids are getting heavier and heavier and you don’t think you have much time. “Just tell Alex to name a kid after me, or at least tell her to name a fish after me.”
Kara’s shaking her head and shaking your arm, trying to get you to open your eyes again, “Y/N! Hey! Stop, come on, baby, just open your eyes…”
You try, you really do, you’ve never tried so hard to listen before, and it works for a moment, just for a second you manage to open your eyes, much to Kara’s relief, and that’s when you finally notice a crowd of people and a slumped alien (the man you two were fighting) a little ways behind you and Kara. When did Kara do that to him? When did the people come?
It’s when you see Alex though, rushing out of a black van, that you feel some sort of relief. Alex will protect Kara when you’re gone. You’re sure of it.
“Wake up! Wake up,” Kara sobs, “Alex, Alex—please, she’s not—”
“She died, Kara, in the van, we managed to bring her back...but things are looking uncertain right now. For now, the best thing you can do is look after yourself”
Kara’s glowing red eyes snap up from the floor towards Alex. Her powers have been going haywire since they arrived at the DEO. “Save her,” Kara pleads, voice hoarse from crying. “Please.”
It’s late at night after Kara hears your heart stop (the second time) that she gets placed in kryptonite handcuffs.
Alex doesn’t want to do it but Kara isn’t in control of her powers anymore, and she almost seriously hurt someone. Multiple times.
Kara doesn’t leave your side after they get your heart going again, she can’t hear your heart with the kryptonite on so the only thing she can take comfort in is the beeping of your heart monitor.
You wake up two weeks after your accident.
Kara’s asleep next to you when you do.
You’re confused and thirsty so it takes you several long moments for you to remember what happened, and once you do you’re sobbing hard, crying loud enough to startle awake a sleeping Kara.
She freezes when she sees you, you’re curled up in the hospital bed and shaking with your relief and the leftover fear, and she’s watching you like she doesn’t know what to do now that you’re awake.
She’s been praying for this moment, imagining it, waiting for it day after day, minute after minute, second after second, but now that it’s actually happened she’s paralyzed with her overwhelming emotions.
“Y/N?” Kara stutters, eyes filling with her own tears of relief.
You laugh at Kara’s face, loud and completely joyful, and suddenly she’s sobbing too, grinning all the while, because you’re here—finally— you’re gonna be okay. You’re gonna be okay, and you’re laughing, and the world is finally okay again too.
“Damn, weren’t we dramatic?” You smirk, paying no mind to the tears running down your or her face.
Kara laughs, pulling you into a careful hug (she got her handcuffs taken off only a day ago). “I missed you.”
“I missed you, too,” you whisper back, tightening your hold on Kara as much as you can and simply breathing her in. Breathing life in.
“I feel like i’m dreaming,” Kara says after a while, voice trembling. You feel like you're dead...and like you're in heaven. Is this heaven?
“You aren’t,” you reassure Kara anyways.
She nods against your shoulder, shaking even harder than you were. “Are you okay?” You ask worriedly.
“you’re the one who had to go and die two times.”
“Nearly three times,” Alex says from the doorway.
You notice Kara tense and shift in front of you until she realizes it’s just Alex, and you think that’ll probably be something you two will have to talk about, but for now you roll your eyes at Alex and say, much to both Kara’s and her amusement; “the only reason you tried so hard to save me is because you didn’t want to name your kid after me, isn’t it?”
Alex’s shrug and “maybe” gets a glare from Kara and a smirk from you.
Lena Luthor x reader, Kara Danvers x reader, Alex Danvers x reader. Baby Danvers.
3 years later
Midvale was quite colorful during the holidays. There wasn't any snow but that didn't stop the residents from going big every year. Every once in a while a whole street would be completely lit up, and the next one would only have different inflatable holiday figures.
The smell of the ocean and cocoa mixed in the air was something that made you think of home. The soft cold breeze that Midvale would have. The caroling in the streets dressed in Hawaiian shirts and Santa hat. The beaming lights turned on at every hour of the day. The chocolate chip red velvet cookies from the girls' scout. The home that you shared with her, and it wasn't enough
You watched out of the car, how the teenagers would be skating, or just hanging around each other. You could also see the park that was situated a few minutes from your childhood home, fill up with kids laughing and playing.
You couldn't bear to look away when you saw the happy couples entering the beach for the holiday movie night with their joint hands. You felt yourself almost breaking down at the moment the Uber stopped at your parents' house.
Tears threatened to come out and with all of your self-control, you stooped them. Trying to put a facade before knocking on the door after thanking the driver, and wishing them safe drive home, and thanking them for the professionalism after you broke down on the passenger seat.
Your mom opened the door, immediately giving you a comforting hug. It took all of you, to not break down in her arms, but you couldn't do that. You just couldn't, you knew if you did, you would ruin everyone’s happiness. Including Lena’s and Kara’s and you would go through hell for them just to be okay.
When you pulled away you felt some tears leaving your eyes, and quickly wiped them, trying to make them unnoticeable. Your mother began who she is, noticed them, and frowned immediately as she spoke. “Why are you crying, sweetheart?”
“It's okay, mom. I just really missed you” Your mom nodded, as she believed it, your whole life you would cry if you saw others do. You would cling to any of your sisters if there was a storm. You would often make decisions on others' feelings, leaving your feelings behind. You would never stand up for yourself. You were afraid of rejection. You were just a highly sentimental person.
Eliza studied you before bringing you inside of the house as she questioned you. “Why are you doing here, Y/N? Not that I’m not glad to see you, it’s just the second of December sweetie”
“I wanted to put something away on the storage if that’s okay?” You responded as you carried some of the boxes inside.
Your tone and vibe were calm and unusual. You haven’t been like that since your heart breaks with Lucy, and a few years later Barry. Both of them leaving you for someone else, someone better.
You had a more bright persona. You and Kara had a similar vibe, you saw the best in people, you always used to bring the bright side out of everything. You were the clumsiest in the house, leaving you with a lot of bruises and broken things. You would make puns and bad jokes all the time.
You were sweet and caring, also the innocent of the family, you would squeal like a child on Christmas day, or throw up the morning after Halloween. You were scared of the dark. You were just somewhat a child. Put when anyone you loved was hurting, you went on spiral protecting mode. You wouldn't open up, you wouldn't burden them with your problems even though it was killing you inside.
Your mom said before you would get another box, trying to make you open up. But you wouldn't give up “Of course it is sweetheart, I will make you some chocolate before we move the boxes”
“Mom doesn't worry I can do it alone, they are not that heavy. And I would pass the chocolate thank you” You said as you walked past her, grabbing another box almost falling to your side.
Eliza chuckled at you as she went to help you while speaking. You nodded and remained quiet as you moved the boxes to your dad’s storage. “Okay sweetie, I will keep you company then.”
You couldn't help to think about the fact that the things you were storing away had somehow a memory with Lena. And it hurt you to think you are not there with her anymore. The fact that you are here storing them, except for taking them with you meant a lot. You knew that it was going to be difficult. Lena was the love of your life, she was everything and now becoming her nothing stung more than anything else.
After a few minutes of putting the boxes away, you stood outside of Jeremiah’s storage as you watched the things already organized. You marked your things and compound yourself before stepping away closing it be
Your mom stood a few feet away hugging her cardigan as she watched you from the balcony. You lifted your head to give her a small smile before she spoke up. “It’s cold Y/N, where is your sweater?”
“I forgot it, mom, don’t worry about it, it’s not that cold” You shrugged your shoulders as you walked to the hammock seat.
The Danvers hammock seats were created by you. So you would ‘perform’ to your family the music you had created at 10, making Kara sing with you and after a time Alex too, making your parents watch.
Flashback - 2 years ago
The soft smell of french toast and coffee took part in your old room. Soft sunlight coming through the black window blinds invading the room, making you groan when you feel it in your face. The white sheets entangled between you and Lena under the blanket. A soft arm hugging you from behind protectively and a hand running through your Y/H/C hair comfortably.
Slowly hearing Kara’s singing voice in the kitchen, you huffed before turning around with your eyes closed, feeling the glance of your girlfriend, you sighed before melting and cuddling more into her as she spoke. “Well good morning to you too, Love”
You mumbled as you pulled away to place small kisses on her face. Making the older woman giggle “It's Christmas day baby!”
When you went to kiss her properly, Lena decided to play catch moving away every time. You played along, ignoring her, making her now try to gain your attention until you heard the walkie-talkie on your nightstand sound with the familiar voice of your older sister, Alex groaning “I swear to Rao, if you don't make her shut up, the hammock performance would be viral”
“Merry Christmas dear sister. Alex, I swear-” You groaned before grabbing the yellow thing, Lena watched in amusement as she kissed your back and shoulders since you kept ignoring her.
You were interrupted by the stuffed voice of your blonde sister yelling “I heard that! Jerks! Also, Eliza said if you don't come down the french toast would be mine”
You groaned before you could respond that walkie-talkie was flying towards your puff chair and you were pindown on the bed. Lena holding both of your hands to your side, with a smile of victory. She kissed you after a few seconds breaking the kiss with both of your smiles, as you spoke and squealed like a child “I love you and Babe! it's Christmas”
“Yes, it's Christmas love. And I love you too, darling” She responded shaking her head when you jumped out of bed. You quickly put on the closest shirt that was hers, and you were about to put your hand on the knob of the door when you were stopped by the soft voice of your girlfriend giving you a raised eyebrow
“Are you forgetting something Y/N?” She said, raising her eyebrow, giving you a soft and sarcastic glance as she dressed with your clothes. You looked at her dumbly before biting your lip and nodding your head.
“Ohh yeah yeah…. Good morning sweetie” You said before kissing her quickly before running downstairs. She didn't have the time to tell you, you didn't have pants on.
Lena looked at the door and rolled her eyes at your antics, before looking herself in the mirror trying to look presentable on Christmas morning, hugging herself with your oversize Christmas sweater smiling.
The kitchen was invaded by the smell of coffee and french toast. The sunlight coming through the windows giving a direct angle. Kara danced and sang at the other side of the kitchen since she was not allowed, because of her eating habits when your mom was cooking.
Walking through the house while it was decorated for Christmas was not the easiest, and running around it was more difficult than anyone expected, you saw Karas back before jumping in her back, clinging to her like a koala.
A few minutes later, Alex came running downstairs, Lena and Maggie following close behind laughing. Alex didn't even blink before launching herself into Kara too, this time catching you off guard and making you three fall into the floor laughing and groaning.
Your mom, Eliza, looked at you three daughter in the floor and walked past, giving Maggie and Lena a hug as she spoke directly to the “Merry Christmas sweeties we can sit”
Before the three of you would get up, she spoke to you pointing at your sisters and lastly at you.“The three children will come, in a second after they made sure there isn't a dent in the floor and all the food is ready.”
Kara and you pouted before getting up, while Alex just huffed and cursed quietly. Making Kara and her start a silly argument because the blonde caught you and not her even with her superpowers, while you sneaked up to the kitchen where the cookie dough stood putting a spoon inside getting caught by your mom's voice. “Without eating the cookie dough”
Before you could put the spoon away you heard all of the speakers play a familiar song. You startled when you heard the second part, you knew exactly what it was.“Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun...Now the jingle hop has begun”
“No!” Before you knew Alex and Kara were showing the video to everyone. Lena just laughed at your pouty face and gave you a kiss melting it away. Before anything else happened a few things were heard in the background
“Luthor that it's my baby sister” Alex yelled
“Not this again!” Kara yelled
“Could you two leave your sister and Lena alone?” Your mom said as she scolded your two older sisters, making you and Lena burst into laughing.
“I think the girl on the hammock band is adorable, I love you” Lena said pointing at the TV where the edited video played, it was you playing in 4 different instruments one signing as she kissed your temple.
“Put pants on nerd!” Before you could respond. Alex and Kara yelled as you felt a pair of shorts hitting your head.
Flashback ends
“How is Lena?” Your mom asked you, bring you out of your thoughts as she sat in the hammock chair next to you.
You keep your sight on the ocean, as the cold breeze hit you calmly. And the ocean waves breaking, close to the sand. You knew your mom's glance was on you, and the fact that she was trying to make you open up, told you she knew you were acting differently.
“She is good, yeah she is good, good and she is also happy so that’s good” You responded, trying to convince yourself.
Your mom glanced to the ocean, as she heard your response. Taking a deep breath she countered back, catching you off guard. “Are you happy?”
You keep your glance on the ocean as you insisted, trying to not let the emotions gain control of you, you couldn't, Lena deserved to be happy and if it meant for you to be hurting, then it was worth it. “Yeah mom I’m good, I’m good, good, I’m happy so that’s good”
“Okay sweetheart” She concluded, letting you go.
Love Above All
Tumblr media
Request: Please could you do a Alex Danvers x reader. Where reader is a kryptonian like Kara and they are dating when Alex gets mind control by Astra’s husband (my minds gone blank at his name) and Alex ends up hurting reader quite badly and feels really bad when she wakes up from being mind controlled. Fluff ending? Thank you 💕 Hey for the supergirl request, the reader could be a friend of Karas came to earth a little bit after Kara maybe also got stuck in the phantom zone. 💕 ~ Anon
Word Count: 1.3k
A/N: Y/H/N = Your Hero Name
Your parents sent you in a pod to protect your bother, but you both ended up on the Phantom Zone, frozen in time. You crashed on earth only a year after your best friend, Kara, did, but you still have not seen your brother. Years had passed and you had moved to National City where you started your job as a junior photographer at CatCo. A few months later a quirky blonde girl was hired as Cats assistant. Who turned out to be Kara. Now, she’s Supergirl, and you’re her partner, Y/H/N the two of you work double jobs, CatCo, and the DEO. And your beautiful girlfriend is Kara’s sister, Alex.
You were hanging out at your apartment when all of a sudden you heard, what sounded like an army, of footsteps outside. You looked outside of your apartment door and window to see people marching like mindless drones. Before you could even think, you got dressed in your costume and head straight out to find Kara. You finally found her at Catco, in her Supergirl identity standing next to Cat Grant.
“Hey, what’s going on?” You ask.
“It’s my uncle, Non. He activated this program called Myriad. It’s basically a mind control program,” Kara explains.
“So it’s just us then,” You respond.
“And me,” Cat says from next to us.
“Wait...why weren’t you affected?” You ask.
“Who knows,” Cat says.
“And why weren’t you?” Kara asks you.
“Not a clue,” You respond.
A few hours pass as we try to figure out what’s going on. After Non threatened your friends and had them fall off the building Kara decided to call Alex.
“Kara? Are you alright?” Alex asks.
“I’m fine,” Kara says.
“You’re lying,” Alex says.
“Yes. Did you reach Cadmus? Did you and Hank find your dad?” Kara asks.
“We were on our way there until we heard about all this,” Alex says.
“Where are you now?” Kara asks.
“At mom’s,” Alex says.
“Stay there. If you come to National City Myriad will take over you too,” Kara says.
“There’s no way I’m leaving you there by yourself,” Alex says.
“She’s not alone. She has me...and Ms. Grant,” You say.
“Y/N? Thank god you’re ok. But why wasn’t Cat Affected?” Alex asks.
“Maxwell Lord protected her and himself,” You say explaining the interaction from earlier.
“Of course he did. Kara and Y/N we never know when we can trust him,” Alex says.
“Yeah, well...we don’t really have a choice right now. You don’t know what it’s like here. It’s our only option. I love you, Alex,” You say.
“I love you too, Alex,” Kara says before hanging up.
You Max, Cat, and Kara look for answers to figure out what to do. Cat comes up with the idea to send a signal out to possibly stop Myriad. As you all were setting up the system, you hear a noise from outside.
“Stay here,” You say. You head outside as Kara stays behind in case there are others. As you walk around the building, you see Alex walking towards you in some green glowing suit. “Alex? What are you doing here? We told you not to come,” You say.
“I warned you what would happen if you worked against me,” Alex says catching you off guard. That didn’t sound like your girlfriend at all. “I found your ultimate opponent. One that knows your every weakness,” Alex says.
“No!” You say realizing Non got a hold of her. “I’m not doing this. I am not going to fight my girlfriend. Did you hear that, Non? If you want to fight us, come out here and do it yourself. I nor Supergirl are not gonna hurt her,” You say.
“You have no choice. Kill Alex Danvers or let her kill you. Either way...you lose,” Alex says. “Recognize this?” Alex asks pulling a Kryptonite sword out. “It’s the same sword your girlfriend used to kill Astra. It’s almost justice,” Alex says.
“Alex, please wake up,” You say.
“She can’t hear you,” Alex says.
“Revenge won’t bring Astra back,” You say.
“I don’t want to bring her back. I want you and Supergirl to join her,” Alex says before running towards you.
You run towards her as well but without a plan. She swipes the blade against your stomach leaving a mark. You see as she turns around to shoot a Kryptonite bullet at you, but you just barely avoid it flying up. You go back down to try and get her to wake up.
“Alex. I know you’re still in there. I know you would never hurt me. Wake up!” You say holding her back.
“You left me no choice,” Alex says.
You avoid her every attack while also unsure of how to stop her without hurting her. You grab a piece of train railing and try to wrap it around her but she blasts you with some kind of Kryptonite mist, blowing you back. She comes at you with the sword, you try to kick it out of her hands but she ends up cutting your leg. You fall to the ground, taking in the pain. At the same time, she takes the sword and plunges it through your right thigh, and takes it out. At this point, you could barely stand and had no other plans.
“When you and Supergirl reunited with Astra in the light of Rao, you tell her, her wishes have all come true,” Alex says. She plunges the sword towards you as you sit looking up at her. With no other plan, you grab the sword with both hands and hold her off. The blade cuts through your hand as she slowly makes her way towards your heart.
“Alex!” You hear Kara yell. Alex doesn’t let up from her blade. “Stop! This isn’t you,” Kara says.
“I was waiting until you’d come out. But, now you’ll have to watch your sister kill her beloved before she kills you,” Alex says.
“Alex, you can beat this. I know you can. You would never ever hurt Y/N. You would never hurt me. You are Alex Danvers and nothing on earth can change that. Come back to us. Please. You’re strong, you can do it,” Kara says.
“Kara?” Alex says seeming to break her mind control, tossing the sword, and turning off the kryptonite suit. “Oh my god, Y/N! I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I never meant to hurt you,” Alex rants cupping your face.
“It’s fine. I’m fine. I know that wasn’t you,” You say looking at your bloodied hands and kissing Alex. Alex and Kara quickly go to help you up.
“I’m so sorry,” Alex kept repeating.
They brought you back into the station as Hank and Alex’s mom shows up. They set up the broadcast for Kara to do her speech. Once everything had gone back to normal, you were brought back to the DEO to treat your wounds.
“I’m fine guys. I’ll heal. I don’t need any treatment,” You say as they lay you on the bed.
“Can you give us a moment,” Alex says.
“Alex. I’m fine really. You don’t need to worry,” You say.
“No. It’s--It’s not that,” She says sitting next to you. “It should’ve never come to this. The moment I saw you. I should’ve snapped out of it. I should’ve been stronger. I should’ve never let myself hurt you,” She says.
“Alex. Myriad had taken over your mind, there was no way of knowing how to get anyone snap out of it. You know I know you would never hurt me. And most of all I love you and you love me. Nothing could ever change that, not even being at opposite ends of the universe. So can you please just stop being so sorry and stop worrying?” You say.
She chuckles, “Fine,” She says kissing you. Alex treats your wounds and waits for you to recover enough to go back to Catco.
A/N: I hope you enjoyed this! I’m sorry if it kinda ends abruptly, I just wasn’t fully sure how to end it. Thanks for reading!
Splash!
Kara was in the zone before she even stepped onto the poolside. It was the National Diving Championships and Kara had been training upwards of 30 hours a week, her season had been great.
She was one of the best 10m platform divers in the country, a shoe in for a spot on the National Team, heading to the World Championships in a few weeks. All she had to do was secure a spot on the podium in this competition, not that she’d be happy with anything else than gold.
The only competitor she really had to worry about was Lena fucking Luthor: she was a member of Metropolis Diving Club and had been Kara’s arch rival since they began
competing more than 10 years ago. Of course National City Diving Club was the best club in the country, no competition, in Kara’s eyes but MDC were up there among the best, majority of the National Team trained in Metropolis.
“Hey, Danvers.” Kara rolled her eyes, she could already hear the smirk in Lena’s voice. She stopped riffling through her bag and turned, scowl permanently fixed on her face. “Aww, don’t do that, you’ll give yourself wrinkles.” Lena pouted.
“What do you want, Luthor?” Kara sighed.
“I just came to wish you good luck. You’re going to need it.” She paired the condescending statement with a sweet smile.
“Shouldn’t you be over there with your team, Luthor?” Alex said, coming to her sisters aid.
“Do you always let your sister fight your battles for you?” Lena pouted, Kara growled and took a step towards her. Lena just laughed, not intimidated at all by Kara “The Human Puppy” Danvers. She tapped her on the nose and sauntered away, swinging her hips.
“You always let her rile you up,” Alex groaned.
“Yes, Alex! I’m very aware of that fact, but she is incredibly fucking irritating!”
“Kara!” J’onn chided, he looked at the floor. Kara growled through her gritted teeth and dropped onto the floor to do her set of push-ups, she kept her eyes on Lena who was stretching across the poolside.
She was shorter than Kara, her body the perfect mixture of hard muscle and soft curves, not the traditional body type for a diver which meant she had to work extra hard to make sure she was perfect.
Kara was tall and muscular with long, lean legs and a natural talent for the sport. That didn’t mean she didn’t work as hard, Kara was the most dedicated athlete on the team, she adored the sport and would put in the same amount of effort in the dryland as she did in the pool.
“Maybe, don’t stare at her the entire time. You’re giving her the wrong impression,” Alex smirked.
“I’m not staring, I’m channelling all my disdain towards her.” Kara muttered, shooting dangers towards Lena who was stripping her team tracksuit off.
“Just don’t let her get to you. This is your last chance to show everyone how talented you are, just compete a solid list and you’ll earn your spot on the National Team.” Alex squeezed her shoulders and Kara nodded.
They warmed up and Kara grabbed her shammy from her bag, heading up to the highest board, ready to start her final training session. Lena was already up there, pressing up into a perfect back armstand and Kara definitely did not stare at her ass while she was doing it.
Kara ran through her dive list twice before getting out of the pool and finishing her session, heading to the showers so she had plenty of time to get changed. She let the warm water run over her muscles, relaxing them, she rolled her neck and shook out each of her limbs. She was feeling loose and limber, fully prepared for the competition.
She heard that distinct giggle and every muscle in her body tensed up again, Lena and her best friend/synchro partner Sam Arias rounded the corner. Kara immediately grabbed her stuff and went to leave before Lena wound her up again.
“Going so soon, Danvers?” Lena teased, Kara didn’t say anything she just scowled at the pair. “You know, your list is really shaping up this season, now you might be able to keep up for once.” Lena ducked under the spray and ran her hands over her hair.
“What are you talking about? I’m the defending champion and my list has been higher in difficulty than yours for the past three years.” Kara spat, Lena may be her toughest competitor but she wasn’t unbeatable.
“Yeah, but your season hasn’t been the best,” Lena snickered. “You’re inward 3-1/2 has been... below par. We both know the only reason you choose that dive is because you need the extra DD.” Sam giggled at the remark.
“Whatever, Luthor, we’ll see who’s on top at the end of the day,” Kara stormed out of the showers before they could see the blush coating her cheeks and went to get changed.
She put her headphones on and laid on the poolside, there were three more competitions before hers, she put a podcast on and relaxed. Alex woke her up just as the third competition started, it was a small one so she made her way to the dryland to begin her warm up.
In a short amount of time it was time for the parade, Lena was too occupied with her own preparations that she didn’t have time to irritate Kara. They both had their own competition routines which meant they didn’t have any interaction during the event.
They’re lists were both relatively the same with only one difference: Lena competed inward 2-1/2 somersaults pike and Kara chose the slightly harder dive: inward 3-1/2 somersaults tuck. It was more of a risk but Kara knew she could score 9’s most of the time.
They were pretty much neck at neck up until the last two rounds of dives, five points separated the top two spots. Kara managed to score 9’s on her dive, Lena on the other hand, scored perfect 10’s, grinning as she climbed out of the pool, knowing she had nailed it.
It all came down to the last dive: front 3-1/2 somersaults pike. They were neck and neck, Kara was ahead by just 3 points due to her higher dive difficulty. Kara took a deep breath and set off on her run up, she knew as soon as she hit the water that she’d over rotated slightly, she could feel it on the back of her calves. Kara scored 8’s, it was a solid score but she knew it would be close.
She watched with bated breath as Lena measured her run up, she ran her shammy over her face once more before throwing it down to the pool side. Lena closed her eyes and visualised the dive going perfectly, she set off and Kara felt her stomach drop and Lena entered the water with a perfect rip entry.
Lena Luthor was the new Women’s Platform National Champion.
“Well done, Kara.” Alex gave her a hug, Kara could help but feel disappointed, silver was still an incredible accomplishment but it wasn’t the spot she wanted. “2nd is still something to be incredibly proud of and the National Team would be stupid not to take you.” Kara nodded, “now, go get your jacket on. They’re presenting the medals in a moment.”
Lena was elated, Sam swept her up in a tight hug, congratulating her over and over again. Lena couldn’t keep the wide grin off her face, smiling from the moment they announced that she’d won the title, all the way to the moment she locked the door of her private shower cubicle. Her team mates knew that she needed time alone after a competition to decompress and reflect on her performance, no matter where she placed.
She heard a soft knock on the door and she opened it to tell Sam she would be out soon.
Instead she was met with bright, blue eyes. She allowed Kara to slip inside the cubicle and pull her into a tight hug, “congratulations, baby. I’m so proud of you,” Kara mumbled into her ear.
“Thank you,” she sighed, it had been a gruelling year for Lena, she was at the pool every single day working as hard as she could and it had finally paid off. It was just a shame that for Lena to win, her favourite person had to lose. “I’m sorry you didn’t get to retain your title.”
“Hey, no, we agreed to leave it in the pool, remember? Besides, you’ve worked your perfect ass off for this title, you deserve it.” Lena chuckled and captured her lips in an earth-shattering kiss, it had been months since they’d last seen each other.
They broke away to catch their breath and Lena looped her arms around Kara’s neck. “Just three more months.” Kara hummed, holding her close.
In three months, Lena would be moving to National City for college and they could finally be together. Lena’s family were incredibly strict, they were hell-bent on their daughter being the Olympic Champion one day. That meant no distractions and no dating, oh and they were also incredibly homophobic so Kara wouldn’t be invited to Thanksgiving any time soon.
The young couple had to pretend to hate each other until Lena could move away for college. They had an agreement that any mean comment they said to each other, they really meant the exact opposite. Kara got so wound up because she couldn’t go up to her girlfriend and wish her good luck or give her reassurance without saying something horrible to her.
“You dived so well today, you don’t have to worry about getting picked.” Lena kissed up to her ear. Lena had already been chosen for the team and they were both still nervously waiting to hear if Kara had a spot.
“What if I don’t?” Kara mumbled.
“Then I’ll sneak you into my suitcase and they’ll have to pick you,” she heard Kara’s small chuckle. “I love you, darling.”
“I love you too.” Kara whispered back.
They had started off hating each other, their clubs had the worst rivalry in the country and the pair were always pitted against one another. Up until two years ago when Lena had placed third at a local competition and Kara had found her crying in the stairwell after her mother had yelled at her. Lena had told her to go away but Kara hated seeing her beautiful, green eyes look so sad. She was so used to them being filled with mirth and mischief, instead of leaving she pulled her into a hug and held Lena’s shaking body. From then on they were friendly to each other, they were still competitive but the comments weren’t as harsh. Until one particular meet when Lena cornered her in the showers and accused her of deliberately putting her off during her final dive. They’re heated argument quickly turned into an, equally as heated, make-out session.
Kara was stood in the shower, basking in the glory of her third win this season when Lena came storming into the showers, tears in her eyes. “Hey, what’s wrong?” Kara grabbed her elbow, but Lena pushed her away.
“Just get away from me! This is all your fault,” Kara was taken aback.
“Whaa? What do you mean it’s my fault?” Kara accused, she furrowed her brow and stepped closer to Lena.
“You whistled during my last dive, you put me off!” She yelled, pressing a finger against Kara’s chest.
Kara scoffed, “oh my God. I didn’t put you off! You lost! Get over it.” She said through gritted teeth. Lena didn’t just lose, she came fourth, she hadn’t not medalled in years, her parents were going to kill her. In return, she was going to kill Kara.
“You’re such an asshole! I thought we were friends now,” Lena had gone from teary eyed to full blown rage in less than a second.
“Your head is so far up your own ass, you can’t handle the fact that you messed up on you own!” Kara yelled back.
“I hate you!”
“I hate you more!” They were so close that Kara could see one of her green eyes was slightly blue, she surged forward and captured Lena’s lips in a bruising kiss. Lena let out a squeak of surprise before kissing her back feverishly. Kara gripped her hips and pulled her closer, Lena moaned into her mouth, tugging on her hair. Kara spun her around and backed her up against the tiled wall, she cupped Lena’s face and ran her tongue across her bottom lip.
Lena suddenly stopped and pushed at her shoulders, “I can’t, I’m sorry.” Lena said, breathless. She tried to brush past Kara but the blonde stopped her.
“Wait. Don’t go, please. I’m sorry if I went too far, I just-“
“Kara, it’s okay, you didn’t go too far. It’s just my parents don’t approve of... this.” She gestured between the two of them.
“Screw them! Do you want this?” Kara circled her wrists and ducked her head to look into Lena’s eyes. She searched her eyes and dropped her gaze down to her parted lips.
“Yes,” Kara backed away, leading Lena towards the shower cubicle. She locked the door and recaptured her lips.
After that day, Kara had asked for Lena’s number and the rest was history.
They still had to keep up the facade until Lena moved, but Kara quite enjoyed the sneaking around, it meant she could have Lena all to herself and with everyone knowing she was off limits already, she didn’t have to worry about anyone else trying to worm their way in. Not that it would worry her anyway, Lena was head over heels for Kara and vice versa.
“You think you can sneak out of your hotel tonight?” Kara asked.
“Mhmm, Sam is usually out like a light after a day of competing,” Kara began swaying slightly, soothing the girl in her arms.
“Meet you in the parking lot at 9?” Kara suggested, Lena nodded. “It’s a date and I can’t wait to spoil the new National Champion!” Kara grinned.
