#maybe i'm over stepping a little because I've only had Mia and Oliver for about three days #but I have read Green Arrow 2001 issues 1-46 in that time #and it really feels like they have the dynamic certain sections of fandom want Steph and Bruce to have #stephanie brown #bruce wayne #oliver queen #mia dearden #green arrow #speedy ii #spoiler #batman #robin iv #batgirl iii #listen #every couple of months someone makes a post about Steph telling Bruce she needs tampons/pads #and Bruce going overboard buying one of everything because he doesn't know what she likes #that's not Bruce Wayne #Bruce Wayne would probably go buy something #but he would also stay on the phone with her the whole time so he can lecture her about not being prepared #which is why Steph would never ask him to do it #there are so many other people she would ask first #but Mia and Oliver?#Yeah that's they're dynamic #Mia would 100% ask him to grab something on the way home #and he would come home several bags of over priced menstrual products #muttering the whole time about microplastics and unsafe chemicals #but also he bought the cheap ones too because he's not sure what exactly she likes #and her comfort matters more than his grips with chemical waste (though he'll never admit that) (she knows anyway)

look i understand if people just don't like the idea of billford, i think we have a different internal concept of what shipping means (they're not good for each other at all but i need to dissect their dynamic like a bug. you understand. it's fun) but it's fine to avoid things you don't like, good for you genuinely

however people saying they like. don't see it. like. i'm not saying there's no platonic way to read it, i'm aroace spec myself i'm all for reading things in different ways. but i do think saying they weren't partners in any queer sense at all is trying too hard to go against what the narrative is trying to say, or missing it. somehow

anyway media literacy time if a character makes a joke like this

and the previous context of that joke within the show is that it's about an ex wife. what connection do you think the text is trying to get you to make.

and that's just from a writing point of view. not even noting that from an in universe perspective ford likely knows the joke from the same source as stan. and is therefore. placing himself in that role of the joke are you seeing where i'm coming from

(not to mention bill's side of this text which is. extremely manipulative but also does not read very platonic. again, it can technically be read as platonic! bill literally can manipulate ford's feelings. but the specific wording used is very much meant to look like possessive ex partner wording whether the character means it that way or not. it's coding. look again i'm not saying it was good for them i'm just saying there was something there.)

and then there's also the divorce/break up/rock bottom input on the website. like. how else is that supposed to be read. and the corresponding page in the book itself.

the language being used here. like yes he's saying it in a joking way but then there's the other side that isn't joking which is him crying at the bar. it's the both sides (the very coded language on top of the very genuine emotions and dynamic beneath)

i know most of us are on the same page with this i've just seen a couple people saying they don't see it when this is some of the most clear cut coding i've ever seen. and these are just the things that explicitly reference a relationship off the top of my head i'm not even including the general vibes of Everything

tl;dr it's barely even subtext anymore it's all but straight up text. what's not clicking have we forgotten what coding is (lighthearted i just enjoy the phrase what's not clicking. what's not clicking)

#also i fully think they can be aroace spec about it if that's the issue. i have nonspecific aroace spec headcanons for ford i understand #i do personally think there was some form of attraction there even if not in the most typical way. but the specifics are there to play with #i don't think they ever necessarily labelled it as a relationship either #but yeah. like. yes it can technically be read platonically. sure. i would say most things can be #there are no rules to it have fun #but from a writing perspective. why would it include some of these things if it didn't want you to see them as exes in some sense #i'm sorry but this is just. text i don't know why i'm trying to convince the like three people who don't already see this i should sleep #billford #too scared to main tag other than that #gravity falls #changed my mind i have like 3 followers i'll be fine #the people who would explode me the most probably already have the billford tag blocked or something #the book of bill #thisisnotawebsitedotcom #this is not a website dot com #does the tag have spaces or not. i'm not checking. it's 11:30 pm here

So much I could say about these three #and so much I could say about their relationship / interactions with Cucurucho and Osito Bimbo #Cards on the table... I really would have loved it if Cucurucho / Osito genuinely cared about Jaiden #I mean I know they DID care about her to some extent that much is clear #But they / the Federation were also ABSOLUTELY using her. I'm not arguing that they weren't #But how could anyone not be charmed by Jaiden? The boba the tea parties the head pats–#The empathy and kindness and everything that made q!Jaiden who she was–#Cucurucho and Osito were tools of the Federation but I do want to believe they cared about Jaiden. Albeit in their own fricked up way #I dunno. I know this sounds like massive copium probably but I watched all of her and Roier's streams interacting with them #and I personally think that conflict and duality makes for a more interesting story #But that's just me and my own personal biases. I dunno how to properly put it into words but I am cradling them all close to my heart #I loved Cucurucho / Osito and I thought they were interesting and I'm SO SAD we'll never know what Jaiden did for them in the past #Anyways. For anyone who's read this far into my rant– you know how Cucurucho saved the Eggs and Jaiden said she died in Purgatory?#I like imagining that she survived the bomb and wound up finding the Eggs in the aftermath #and she helped them survive until Cucurucho found them #I imagine that Jaiden was the reason they were able to escape from the Island / The Watcher / ElQuackity #She stayed behind to slow down their pursuers. And Cucurucho rescuing all the Eggs fulfilled his agreement with Jaiden—#A promise to protect the Eggs #Like I said a lot of this is copium but that's what I like imagining #TLDR: Cucurucho / Osito did care about her in a weird way but that doesn't mean they weren't manipulating her #May 31 2023 #Idk man I got a lot of emotions about q!Jaiden #Roier too but I feel like I've done way more analysis posts about him and Cucurucho. Jaiden needs time in the spotlight #Anyways there's my monthly tag rant

I'd probably have to read the printed version and web version back to back at some point to note all the differences but... ough

#sorry i'm going to be excited about this comic for the next month #nofna #okay having finished this now--#and sorry if this doesn't make sense to anyone who's completely unfamiliar with this comic in advance-#the 'popcorn ending' (printed version) is nice to see but i think the web version hits harder. if that makes sense #so i'm kinda tied on which ending i 'prefer'- i think both are good though #also considering i've read the web version a good 4-5 times and the printed version only once- i probably can't make that judgement yet #easy answer- i do like Nutsedge :] so it's nice to see the ending where nothing bad happens to her #but also- NT suddenly becoming a greenie-esque villain out of nowhere felt a little jarring #as well as SV suddenly turning a corner and becoming a 'good guy' (arguable)- considering the first three books are about #/him being too stubborn to change or accept any outside worldviews . Him suddenly coming to his senses felt out of place #<- probably biased because i like characters being bitter to the end and ultimately destroyed by their own hubris #the web version is probably‚ objectively‚ a bit better #but -#(spoilers- if you're planning to drop ~70 bucks on getting these books)#the conceit of SV actually perfecting his style‚ using it once‚ and then immediately getting tooth-brained- was pretty cool #assuming it's meant to parallel him spending months tormented by trying to perfect it while something's still missing-#and then dying before he can narrate it to the audience‚ so that we never know what he figured out.#hard to articulate these thoughts but tl;dr- popcorn ending also had a lot to think about

I love when I see posts like "Share how many crochet WIPs you currently have! I have 5, it's so many!"

Like, girl, I have unfinished projects from over a decade ago that I refuse to frog on the off chance I decide to finish them. I've found years-old projects I forgot I even started and will impulsively just finish it on the spot. I've started three different projects in the last 2 months, including one I started yesterday, that I already know I may or may not finish within the year depending on motivation.

The number of WIPs I have is infinite.
