I've decided that Ako and Tomoe still get to be sibling adjacent in the eternal gales au but like in a comedy of errors kind of way. They've been able to message eachother since they were kids and have picked up a similar but to the left dynamic as in canon but over all the years they've known eachother they've never once realized that the other is an alien. Every oddity has completely flown over their heads and it's not until the other staliens and humans are allowed to contact eachother that they find out and theyre just like :O

How are we feeling about ensekai’s emu3 translation!!! (I’m mad)

(if you remember the 3 whole posts i made when asahi got de-gayed on EN you'll know i am mad too and that this is probably going to get long)

i don't like to be too cynical but it was so obvious that they were going to change that line, i had a feeling since the event first released on JP and after the incident with Asahi where I went through and tracked down multiple other examples of EN removing queer subtext it became clear to me that in no way shape or form was "emu-chan really loves nene-chan" making it to EN without getting changed. what i didn't expect was them changing Nene's line after Luka's comment, which actually makes this whole situation far worse than many of their other instances of toning down queer subtext.

for anyone who isn't aware of what happened, in chapter 5 of the current Emu event, there's a scene where Nene, Rui and the Virtual Singers are talking about what would cheer Emu up. The vsingers all talk about how much Emu loves spending time with Nene, leading to the following exchange

If you look for them, any fan TL of this scene will be something similar to this:

Luka: ...Fufu. Emu-chan really loves Nene-chan, doesn't she? Nene: Th-that's nothing special...

EN's official translation is this:

So what's the issue? I'll start with Luka's part. In the original text, she uses the word daisuki, which can mean to "like a lot" or "love". It's a word you will see frequently in the idol/idol-adjacent genre of games, due to its ambiguity in that it can be read as either platonic or romantic when used towards a person, and often will be used in ambiguous situations so that it's harder to confirm the writers' intentions either way. so here, fans of the emu/nene ship could view the fact that emu loves spending her time with nene as more on the romantic side, but people who don't like the ship could view it as platonic and move on.

while they didn't translate daisuki directly, Luka's line still works, and still contains the ambiguity that works as ship tease in the original text. it's a perfectly fine localisation that still conveys the original intent. despite that, there is something to be said about EN's consistent refusal to translate daisuki as love in most instances when it's not used on An/Kohane (but then again, EN has literally teased An/Kohane on their twitter account so is it all that surprising?).

Here's some examples:

Aibou no koto ga daisuki de / he loves his partner -> he cares about his partner very much (The Power of Unity chapter 7 when Kaito is comparing Arata to Akito and Toya)

HARUKA-CHAN, DAISUKI DAYOOOO!!! / HARUKA-CHAN, I LOOOOOVEEE YOU!!! -> You're the best!!! (Dear Me, As I Was Back Then chapter 4 when minori is at an ASRUN concert. this one isn't actually that great of a localisation)

Honachan no koto daisuki dakara. Kore de iinda yo. / I love Honachan, so this is fine. -> I want what's best for her. And this is it. (Leo/need main story chapter 14 after Saki tells Honami she won't bother her anymore)

Minna daisuki de - taisetsuna tomodachi na no / I love them all - they're my dearest friends -> They're all amazing, and very dear to me. (Leo/need main story chapter 17. this isn't good either)

What's particularly amusing about that last one is that there's a second official translation for it that I assume was done by JP staff (since EN never promoted doing the Journey to Bloom subs like they did back when they provided subs for Petit SEKAI) that actually keeps the word daisuki as love.

It's a better localisation than the official EN team one.

Questionable localisation choices aside, Luka's line is fine and is actually in line with the original. The issue with this localisation very much lies with Nene's part, because that is an entirely new line.

In the original text, Nene's "that's just normal" or "that's nothing special" or however you choose to TL it, is meant to be her questioning Luka's statement, since all the things that the other vsingers said that Emu liked were pretty normal things like going shopping and playing video games with nene. To Nene, these things are normal activities for them to do together, so she gets embarrassed by the fact that Luka concludes from that information that Emu loves Nene. When I dissect it like that I think you can really tell what the writers were going for here lol.

"That's just us being friends" does still convey the idea that Nene thinks these activities aren't anything out of the ordinary and she isn't sure why the vsingers are picking these out as some of Emu's favorite things to do, but it's very different from the original line. "But those are just normal things we do together" is something I just came up with on the spot, but it's a lot closer to the original text and still conveys the same meaning. The fact they changed the line to "that's just us being friends" is, honestly, not even subtle that they're covering up queer subtext. The original scene was very clearly written in as ship tease, and EN mentioning "friends" for no reason, especially since the word nor anything close to it was not used in the original, is instantly a red flag because it's like the go-to for queerbaiting and censorship. This was intentional. There was no need for them to specify that the relationship is platonic, Luka's part is ambiguous for a reason so that fans can view it how they like.

Just to top all this off, here's Rin's original line just before that Luka+Nene interaction:

And here's Rin's line from the official EN translation:

That's not the same thing, but even more weirdly, the incorrect part (super fun->really loves) is a correct translation for the part changed in Luka's line. So, they can do it, they are willing to say "really loves", just not in the right places. Maybe because Rin's part is less personal than Luka's part? It's strange actually, this isn't the first time they've done this either. Off the top of my head I can think of an example from Shiho's Varied Kindness 2* story where they translated the word "suki" as really loves, despite that being much stronger than the original word used (and the fact that daisuki is used a lot in the Leo/need stories and it's incredibly rare if not entirely unknown for them to translate it correctly).

It's not subtle that they're trying to remove implications of the characters possibly being queer, they did it in curtain call and they did it in walk on and on, and multiple times before then too. And considering some of the content in this year's events and the amount of times they say daisuki alone, it's gonna keep happening. honestly i hate the fact that i keep trying to justify the translations in these posts. these translations are intentional. what happened in the curtain call translation back in october says enough. when a character who uses explicitly romantic language towards another guy passes as a straight character in the translation you know they're doing it on purpose.

oh and once again, it's only the EN server that has this issue. The scene in question was translated almost word-for-word on the TW and KR servers.

read fan translations. they're better than what EN gives us and people put a lot of effort into them.

PSDs For Dummies <3

hello dear readers and welcome back to canarysage, the world’s least comprehensive tutorial blog. today, we’re back at it again with photopea for dummies, and we’re tackling something i probably should have done first: psds.

what is a psd?

excellent question, dear reader! psd stands for photoshop document, and it’s a type of file format (like .png or .gif) that allows you to store a project’s individual layers! it’s a file format that, for obvious reasons, is exclusive to photoshop and photopea.

in editing circles, psd has become shorthand for filter. people use psds to save configurations of adjustment layers that are then used to filter images consistently, without having to remake them every time. when someone posts a psd, they’re posting a folder (hopefully it’s in a folder) with their specific set of adjustment layers for anyone to use!

where can i get psds?

right here on tumblr! check your favorite edit blogs, as they may have posted some, or search ‘free psd’ or ‘psd coloring’ in the search function. tumblr doesn’t allow you to upload psds directly, so you’ll be redirected to a site outside tumblr. probably either deviantart, google drive, or ko-fi, all of which are easy to use. deviantart requires you to have an account to download anything (luckily, an account is free!) and ko-fi may require you to pay money. google drive doesn’t have a search function in and of itself, but it’s extremely easy to download off of.

also, shameless self plug, but i post psds right here on canarysage! i personally use deviantart, but again, an account is free. if send me an ask, i may be able to provide you with a google drive link, if you ask really nicely (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

and of course if you don’t want to use someone else’s psd, you can always make your own.

how do i use a psd?

once you have a psd of your choice downloaded, open up photopea! or photoshop, if you’re rich like that.

once you open photopea, click this here button right in the middle of the screen, the one that says “open from computer”

from there, go to choose files and open up your psd! depending on from whom you got it, psds will look different once you open them. i’m using one of my own as an example.

you can see there’s two layers in my psd, a folder, and an image. the image is just for me so i know which psd this is once i save it—i like to save all my psds with images of real people so i know how it looks on moodboards or stimboards.

the folder is the important part here, that’s where the adjustment layers are contained. to transfer a psd, you can either go to file > new

which lets you start an entirely new project, or you can open an image using file > open

which will give you the image you selected.

as an aside, if you’re opening a psd and you already have a project in progress, make sure to click file > open and not file > open & place, as open & place won’t give you the adjustment layers.

then to move the folder, go to layer > duplicate layer into while having selected the folder (just tap on it, that will make it a lighter gray to show it’s selected) and duplicate the folder into whatever your image is

i’m moving mine to a random image of honami i found which is why it’s named like that. once the folder’s duplicated into your project, go over and take a look!

you should now see something like this! ensure that the folder is on top, as otherwise the adjustment layers won’t work.

here’s the difference between the unfiltered image and the image with my psd!

to save images in photopea (like i did just now) go to file > export as > (your preferred file format)

which will pull up something like this

i recommend either saving as a png (for still images) or as a gif (for… gifs) but that’s up to you! in order to save a psd, go to file > save as psd! that will save your project to your device

bear in mind that tumblr doesn’t accept psds as a file format, so if you’re going to post an edit, you have to save it as something else. also, don’t just save other people’s psds and claim them as your own—psds take a lot of time, effort, and skill, like any other art form.

can i make my own psds?

100% yes! i can’t give you a step-by-step process unfortunately, as there really is no one way to make psds. i recommend familiarizing yourself with adjustment layer and seeing what works.

basically, i like to think of adjustment layers as a few different categories. light/darkness adjustments (ie: brightness/contrast, levels, curves, exposure, black & white, and threshold to a certain extent.) saturation adjustments (vibrance, hue/saturation.) color adjustments (hue/saturation, color balance, photo filter, channel mixer, selective color, gradient map depending on how you use it, and replace color.) and also, miscellaneous (posterize, which gives your images a pop-art crunchy kind of effect, invert, which… inverts your colors, and color lookup, which is a set of filters unto itself)

how you utilize adjustment layers is up to you! i personally like to use a variety and see what happens, my personal favorites being channel mixer, photo filter, and hue/saturation. you can also utilize blending modes (shameless self plug again,) or opacity.

if you have no idea where to start, you can look at other people’s psds to see their process. don’t copy or steal, for obvious reasons, but you can toggle layers on and off and see what happens and what each layer does.

making psds isn’t as intimidating as it sounds, you just have to start a project and start creating! it gets really fun once you get the hang of it (*'▽'*)

i don’t edit with photoshop or photopea, can i still use psds?

short answer: nope!

long answer: if you want use psds but you’re super used to ibis paint or whatever you currently use, have no fear! you don’t have to switch all your editing to photopea. you can make your main project in ibis or whatever as normal, then upload it to photopea and add a psd.

you can also make perfectly fine filters in ibis paint in your own right, with enough tweaking. there’s also apps such as polarr and picsart which come with filters, but i’ve never used them so i’m unable to vouch for how they work.

do i need to use psds when editing?

nope! psds are 100% optional. they’re a style like anything else—some people prefer them and some people don’t. it’s up to you.

did you genuinely write 1178 words answering questions no one asked?

yep.

ShizuAi: To You, Who Aims to Become an Idol [Airi Fes Card]

A gift for @emotsper! Inspired by this post!

Humming to herself softly, Shizuku strolled down the street at a relaxed pace. She gazed out at the bright streetlights, taking in their almost ethereal glow, sighing contentedly as a warm breeze swept over her arm. Sweet smells drifted towards her on the wind, street vendors jovially advertising their stock to passersby. As she kept walking on, a hand pulled her out of her reverie, warm against her arm.

“Jeez- Shizuku, you can’t keep getting lost like this…”

Shizuku turned to face the person who had taken her arm, smiling and laughing warmly. “Ah, Shii! You found me!”

Groaning, Shiho shook her head and began walking ahead of Shizuku, leading her forward. “Honestly…” She mumbled, striding forward through the crowd. “I don’t know how you can just wander off like that and not be worried at all-”

With a soft giggle, Shizuku glanced down at the way Shiho was holding her arm. Her grasp was firm, but not tight by any means. She was gentle, intentionally holding Shizuku loosely enough that her grasp wouldn’t hurt her. “Because I know you’ll find me, Shii! I trust you.”

Shiho shook her head, scoffing lightly. “Jeez, Shizuku-” She muttered, but her grip softened just a tad. Shizuku simply smiled, noting the slight redness to Shiho’s ears. They walked the rest of the way back in comfortable silence, Shizuku eventually released from Shiho’s grip so the two could walk side by side.

When they reached the house, Shiho unlocked the door and walked in, stretching and yawning. “You had something to eat while you were out with your group, right?” She asked, tilting her head at Shizuku.

Hesitating for just a moment, Shizuku nodded. “Mhm! We went to visit a cafe one of Airi’s friends recommended. Their deserts looked amazing~”

Shiho seemed to notice Shizuku’s choice of word. Looked, not tasted. She put down her guitar case, brows crinkling in concern. “Shizuku-”

Shizuku shrugged her bag off of her shoulder, placing it down. “What about you, Shii? Did you do anything fun with your bandmates?” She said, slipping her shoes off as well.

“Shizuku… I-” Shiho began, but trailed off. She glanced up at Shizuku’s face, set in a resolute smile. She blinked, looking away and taking her own shoes off. “… Yeah. We went to a diner. One of Honami’s friends said it was a good place.”

Beaming, Shizuku nods and steps up into the living room. “That’s good to hear!” She stumbles slightly, almost falling but catching herself on the wall next to her. Shiho lunges forward to catch her, but she waves her off. “Ah-! Sorry… I’m feeling a little tired today, Shii. I think I’ll go to bed first.”

Reluctantly, Shiho seemed to swallow the words on the tip of her tongue. She stepped forward, slipping under Shizuku’s right arm and wrapping an arm around her shoulder. “… I’ll walk you up first. I have something else to do before I turn in.”

Shizuku laughed softly, ignoring the soft ache in her stomach as she ruffled Shiho’s hair. “Aww, Shii~”

“Don’t push it…” Shiho grumbled, turning her face away embarrassedly. Shizuku’s laughter grew just a tad as the two of them made their way to Shizuku’s room. Shiho lifted Shizuku’s arm off of her shoulders, stepping back but standing uncertainly instead of leaving for her room.

“Goodnight, Shii.” Shizuku said softly, letting her face fall just slightly out of her smile. Shiho glances up at Shizuku, the expression on her face sending a painful twinge through Shizuku’s heart. Something about Shiho made her look like a little kid again. Small, lost, hunched over and just the smallest bit scared. “Shii…?”

Shizuku glanced at her face, noticing the way Shiho kept her gaze turned away. A soft exhale left her lips as she walked forward, raising her arms almost questioningly. Seeming to notice the movement, Shiho hesitated only a moment before she shuffled towards Shizuku, awkwardly walking into the hug. Shizuku gently wrapped her arms around Shiho, crouching slightly so the latter could rest her chin on Shizuku’s shoulder. Shiho awkwardly leaned forward, burying her face into Shizuku���s neck and wrapping her arms around her.

They stayed like that for a few minutes. Shiho clinging onto Shizuku like she was the only thing real in the world, Shizuku enveloping Shiho in her arms, surrounding her in comforting warmth. Eventually, Shiho pulls away, and Shizuku drops her arms. She stands up slowly, stretching out her sore legs. Shiho blinked a few times, then raised up a hand to scrub at her eyes. “…Goodnight, Shizuku.” She mumbled, turning and stumbling down the hallway. Shizuku raised a hand, giving Shiho’s back a soft wave of farewell before she turned to the door of her room.

Wrapping her hand around the doorknob, Shizuku pulled the door open, rubbing her eyes sleepily. The soft sound of a muffled sob drew her attention, causing her to jerk her head upwards. Her eyes caught a glimpse of a bump on her bed, a tiny tuft of light pink hair poking out of a gap in the blankets. Whoever it was seemed to have heard the door opening. The figure tunneled further into the blankets, their hair disappeared into the sheets as they tried to stifle their hiccuping.

Shizuku waited a second before she slipped quietly over to the bed, sitting down on the opposite side as the person under the sheets. They skittered away to the other side of the bed as the mattress collapsed slightly under Shizuku’s weight. Shizuku chuckled softly, speaking in a low voice.

“Hey…” She murmured, leaning towards the blanket. “Are you alright..?” The person sniffled, quivering for a minute before shifting around. Something Shizuku presumed to be the person’s head poked up in the blanket, shaking side to side.

“Ah… I’m sorry to hear that. Would you… Want to talk about it?” Shizuku asked, tilting her head as she rested her back against the headboard. The figure sat for a moment, then began moving. Slowly, they inched towards the edge of the blanket, tentatively poking a hand out into the open air. Their hands were tiny, fingers short in proportion to their palm. Shizuku giggled softly, placing her hand next to the person’s and letting them inch their way over to her hand. Small fingers wrapped around her hand, and she gave the person’s hand a gentle squeeze.

After a moment, the person, who Shizuku at this point was quite sure was a child, scooted out of the blanket a bit. Shizuku blinked in surprise as they shuffled their head out, shaking their head slightly to reset their hair.

Short pink hair, mildly teary pink eyes, and a small band aid resting on the bridge of her nose. The child in front of her was the spitting image of Airi- give or take a few years… And maybe a few shades of pink on her hair. She sniffled, giving her eyes a haphazard swipe with her arm, and glanced up at Shizuku. The latter offered a reassuring, if not slightly surprised, smile, patting the bed next to her as an invitation. The child- Airi? moved out from under the blanket, shuffling awkwardly on her hands and knees until she was sitting next to Shizuku. She glanced up at the taller girl, and Shizuku swore she could almost see sparkles dancing in her eyes. That… Might’ve just been the tears, though.

“There you go.” Shizuku said comfortingly, smiling at the slightly awed kid next to her. “What’s your name?”

“A-Airi…” The child stuttered, still staring up at Shizuku. “Wow… Miss, you’re really pretty!”

Shizuku tilted her head, a bashful laugh escaping her lips at the praise. “Ah, thank you, Airi~ What a coincidence! I- Have a friend who’s named Airi too!”

The child Airi raised her eyebrows, leaning closer to Shizuku. “Really? Woah…” She blew out a breath, relaxing back onto Shizuku’s pillows.

“Oh- You can call me Shizuku.” Shizuku said, shifting back onto the blankets slightly. She took another look down at Airi, watching as she sniffled again.

“Shizuku-?” Airi breathed out quietly, tilting her head up to give Shizuku’s face another long, searching look.

Shizuku smiled warmly. “That’s me.” Chuckling softly at the look of wonder in Airi’s eyes, Shizuku was also drawn back to the tears that accompanied it. “If you don’t mind me asking, why were you crying earlier, Airi…?” Shizuku asked softly, meeting Airi’s still slightly teary gaze.

Airi glanced away, looking down as if ashamed of herself. “… The boys in my class.” She scoffed, turning away and rubbing her eyes again. “They’re… all idiots.”

“How so?” Shizuku tilted her head, noticing how Airi’s fists had begun to clench.

“They don’t understand.” Airi mumbled, bringing her gaze back down to her lap, but not before Shizuku had caught a glimpse of wetness brewing in her eyes again. “They tell me stupid things… I’ll never be an idol, I’m too boyish…” Airi pulled her knees up into her chest, wrapping her arms around her legs.

Shizuku scooted closer slowly, raising an arm and cautiously wrapping it around Airi’s shoulders. Seeing if she wanted the touch. Airi leaned into her arm, shuffling towards Shizuku and relaxing into her side.

“They’re wrong.”

Airi blinked, glancing up at Shizuku through tear-filled eyes. “Huh-?”

Shizuku smiled down at Airi, tilting her head slightly. “I think they’re wrong about you, Airi. Honestly, you could wear tomboyish clothes, or dresses and girly clothes, but what does that matter?” She gave Airi’s short hair a gentle comb through with her fingers. “As long as you like it, and you’re wearing what makes you feel like you, I don’t see any problem with that. Don’t listen to them, Airi. You’ll be perfect whichever way you want to be.”

in that moment, Airi thought, Shizuku almost looked like a goddess. The light had shifted behind her, a shy moon peeking out from behind the cloudy sky to shine down on her. Backlit by the light, with her silver hair dancing around her and shining in the darkness of the room, Shizuku’s tentative smile seemed to light something warm in Airi’s heart.

Nodding, Airi dabbed at her tears with the sleeve of her shirt. “Yeah… I guess so.” She said, eyes still glued to Shizuku.

“And…” Shizuku began, a slight chuckle in her voice. “You said you wanted to become an idol, right?”

Airi nodded even more vehemently, drawing a proper laugh from Shizuku. “Yeah! I’m gonna be the best, most hopeful idol ever!” She pumped a small fist into the air, grinning toothily.

Placing a hand over her mouth as she continued to laugh, Shizuku nodded along with Airi. “Well, do you have any questions about being an idol? I might be able to answer some~”

Airi seemed to think for a second before Shizuku’s words properly sunk in. “Wait- Miss, are you an idol!?” Her eyes went wide as saucers as she stared up at Shizuku with something like reverence.

Shizuku beamed down at Airi, giving her a squeeze with the arm around her shoulders and prompting a fit of giggles from the smaller girl. “Yes, I am! My friends and I formed an idol group a while ago!”

“Woah..! Is it fun? Is it hard? Oo, what kind of performances have you done?” Airi squeaked excitedly, letting a waterfall of questions crash out of her mouth. “What kind of idols are you? Wh- Ack!” Shizuku ruffled her hair, stifling the unrelenting stream of words flowing from Airi.

“One at a time, please~” She laughed, watching as Airi’s cheeks flushed slightly with embarrassment.

“Sorry, miss idol…” Airi mumbled, fiddling with her fingers, but didn’t seem entirely repentant.

Shizuku shook her head. “You can just call me by my name, Airi. Right now, I’m not an idol on a stage. I’m just a person, like you.”

Airi nodded, scooting closer to Shizuku. “Okay m- Shizuku-?”

“Just like that.” Shizuku said, her smile broadening slightly. Airi noticed the change, sitting up slightly straighter and returning a toothy grin of her own. “Now… Let me see. … Um, what were your questions again-?”

Lifting her fingers, Airi ticked off a few questions. “Is being an idol fun? Is it hard-?”

“Hmm~ I’d definitely say it’s fun. I love performing with my friends and getting to see so many happy people at our shows!” Shizuku said, resting a hand on her cheek. “Then, hm… Well, I think that’s complicated. It’s not easy, that’s for sure. But… I think it’s worth it. There’s a lot of practice, and it takes a lot of time to get the skills you need, but it all feels worth it in the end.”

Airi seemed to think for a second. “Miss Shizuku, do you think I can be an idol?” She tilted her head up, a vulnerable look in her eyes.

Shizuku nodded instantly. She thought of Airi, the one she knew. Bold, spunky, confident, ready to say what she thought at any moment. She thought of the Airi in front of her, small and slightly unsure, but still with that recognizable spark in her.

“I know you can.”

She said, feeling something warm stir in her chest as she watched Airi practically light up at the news. Still, a bit of doubt seemed to linger in her eyes. “How do you know I’ll succeed…? What if I fail?”

The quiver in her voice almost broke Shizuku’s heart. She reached over, gently pulling Airi into an embrace. Airi startled slightly, but willingly moved forward, wrapping her small arms around Shizuku’s shoulders and letting Shizuku envelop her with her own arms.

“You won’t, Airi. Someday, you’ll be the greatest idol anyone has ever seen.”

Shizuku murmured, patting Airi’s back.

“Even if you’re nobody else’s, you will always be my idol.”

Although she had only known the girl for a few minutes, something about her words resonated with Airi. She looked up at Shizuku, rubbing the tears from her eyes.

“Yeah…!”

Airi grinned, pulling back slightly and pumping her fist in the air. She turned around, addressing the empty room before her as if she were making a declaration to hundreds of people.

“I’m gonna be the cutest idol in all of Japan!”

She turned her head back to look at Shizuku, still beaming widely. Shizuku smiled as well, laughing and giving Airi’s hand a gentle squeeze.

“Of course you will. I have faith in you, Airi.”

Airi nodded, a small giggle leaving her mouth as well. “Thank you, miss Shizuku.” She said, her voice almost uncharacteristically soft. When she looked back up, Shizuku noticed a flicker of something else in her eye. Something she couldn’t quite understand. Whatever it was, it seemed a bit too… worn, for a child that age. It was older. More mature, but filled with a sort of understanding. “Thank you for listening to me.”

“My pleasure, Airi.” Shizuku said, a soft smile curling her lips. Airi leaned back, resting her head against Shizuku’s chest with a soft sigh. Slowly, she began to disappear, her legs breaking into tiny white particles. Shizuku let out a surprised squeak when she noticed the change, but Airi seemed unbothered. She simply relaxed into Shizuku’s arms, murmuring a reassurance.

“Ah, it’s fine.” Airi said calmly. “I’m just going back.” The glitchy evaporation continued up her legs, enveloping her waist and crawling up her stomach. She turned, giving Shizuku’s hand one last squeeze as her shoulders and arms disappeared. The last thing Shizuku saw of her was her expression. Not as joyful as before, but somehow more meaningful. Lips drawn apart in a toothy grin, eyes sparkling with hope.

Then? She was gone. Shizuku raised her hands into the air, watching as the tiny particles slipped through her fingers and disintegrated. The door snapped open before the last few particles had disappeared, causing Shizuku to yelp, flinching and smacking her head against the headboard.

“Woah-! Shizuku-?” Shiho’s concerned voice echoed from the doorway as she stepped into the room. “Did you hit something?”

She rushed over to the bed, But Shizuku waved a hand at her airily. “Ah- Don’t worry, Shii. I’m alright. You just surprised me a bit-”

Shiho stood up reluctantly. “… Are you sure-?” She seemed slightly wary of Shizuku’s casual demeanor, her eyes darting around the room a few times. Had she seen something…?

Shizuku nodded, scratching her head sheepishly. “I’m sure. Sorry for worrying you, Shii~”

“Alright-” Shiho muttered, seeming unconvinced. “I’m going to go get ready for bed.” She strode off, slipping open the door to the restroom and locking the door.

A yawn bubbled out of Shizuku’s chest, making her realize just how tired she was. She scooted herself down on the bed, going from a sitting position to nearly horizontal. Before she could fully settle down, a tiny notification ping came from her phone. She leaned over, fumbling with the screen for a moment before managing to open it. Apparently her tech lessons with Haruka had been worth it… But perhaps not as much as she’d liked, Shizuku rues as she tries to remember which icon would lead her to her messages app. Two accidental videos and a hastily canceled food order later, she found it.

Clicking on the app brought her to a menu, contacts listed line after line. Minori, Shiho, Haruka, and…

One new message.

From Airi.

Shizuku hesitated just a second before clicking on the chat, opening the message. It was short, only a few words.

“Jeez- just had a weird ass dream-”

Raising an eyebrow, Shizuku took a minute to process that. Airi had messaged her. Less than a minute after the strange child Airi had disappeared. She clicked on the text bar, fingers stumbling across the keyboard as she attempted to type a response.

“ Dte am? - A b iut. Wja t?”

… At least it was- semi-readable.

Her reply came in less than thirty seconds.

“… You meant “dream, about what…?” Right-? Uh- Nothing, just- It was weird. I’ll explain next practice.”

Shizuku tilted her head. It could be a coincidence? It practically had to be. There was no way that had actually been Airi, right? Still… Shizuku glanced at her hands, remembering the warmth of Airi’s hand, the way that the particles had slipped through her fingers. The same particles that flashed every time Shizuku entered or exited the Sekai. Maybe. Just maybe…?

She felt her eyelids grow heavy, her arm drooping down to the bed with phone still in hand. With her last ounce of energy, Shizuku slid her phone off to the side, placing it on her dresser before relaxing back into her bed. She’d deal with all this tomorrow. As her eyes drifted shut, she swore she could hear the soft sound of a child’s giggle, echoing quietly from her phone.

akitos lips are soft. like genuinely so soft.

hes probably had them chapped for a little while , due to practicing in the sun a lot. before you started helping him on it. i guess it payed off , so , so well.

so now , after helping him treat them, his kisses got somehow better.

its like theyre more tender and passionate now. maybe its his way of getting back at you for giving him tips and buying the necessary things he needed? pretty much. yeah definitely. 

small fact : he still kept the things you bought him for his lips , neat and clean on his desk. ‘ im keeping those for when they get dry again, not for kissing you better. they heavily influence my singing, y’know? ‘ - thats his excuse anyway.

usually, they arent that long. in hurries, he usually just leaves a small peck. a kiss on the forehead, even. tho he only does this when no ones watching , not too fond of pda because of three certain someones. the most he can do in public is a quick kiss on the hand, on one of the rings you wear, if you do actually use jewelry.

but in private , its like a switch flipping. hes initiating it a lot more, each kiss lasting two times more than usual with one break slipped in there somewhere. mostly on the lips, but doesnt limit there. hed kiss you all over your face occasionally , if hes feeling mischievous. or in comfort. depends on the context.

and about hand placement — definitely on your waist. he likes it alot. in an innocent way, ofcourse. in general, he just likes it. wrapping his arms around it from behind you , hugging you and resting his face on your shoulder. akito himself doesnt know why.

so basically — his kissers are tender , passionate , and depend on his mood. hes a pretty simple guy.

if akitos lips were soft, then kanades are heavenly, if taken care of properly.

her lack of self care is there, ofcourse, even worse if it wasnt for honami. but with a little bit of your help, i feel like shed eventually get better — and that includes skincare and just beauty in general.

she has dry lips, due to working a lot during both mornings and nights , so she doesnt really have time to take care of them — or she oftenly licks them to the extent of it. it doesnt take a lot of chapstick to get them nice and soft, tho.

theyd DEFINITELY taste like soy cup noodles, argue with the entirety of usa. or collectively agree. i dont care i know im right.

her kisses arent special, but they hold a lot of sentimental expression to both you and kanade. for her , leaving you quick pecks anywhere on your face is a way to express what shes feeling. is she proud? is she happy? did something happen? does she need attention? you’ll only know through her quick kiss on your cheek.

she cant last through really long kisses tho — poor girl runs out of breath so fast. thats why you both settled in quick pecks.

and hand placement during those? your cheeks or the back of your head , running her hands through your hair. doesnt matter if youre taller (which is likely) , she’d initiate it (rarely long) by gently cupping your cheeks and bringing your face closer to her.

summed up — shes a decent kisser. just dont suffocate her during your time.

Okay, that's good to know. I might have other questions later as I think about things more/these Au's progress, but these are the ones I can think of atm. And please don't feel obligated to answer any of these, I just thought I'd ask.

(Also, I realized that all of these questions are somehow related to Leo/need? That was entirely unintentional, lol, my bad)

Cyberidol au- Does Saki and/or Leo/need exist in this AU? Do they play a part in the plot at all?

Maybe Saki doesn't show up physically in the current story events, but perhaps she's the one who inspired IdolKasa's initial, now-forgotten dream (like in canon), somebody he had pushed away for the sake of (or even due to) his desire for fame, and whose previous importance/presence in his life and her current distance from him will come to haunt him, now that everything he's worked so hard for (and his entire world view, hopefully) is starting to crumble.

Or maybe her role is more like Emu's- she loves her brother so much, and she's trying to push him down the right path and make him remember, but he just isn't not hearing her, no matter how hard she tries. Or maybe she's also stuck in a similar position in the entertainment industry along with the rest of Leo/need, or maybe they're in similar roles to Ruinene. So many possibilities.

(Wherever she is, I hope the Tenma's get to have a heartfelt reunion once Tsukasa gets his shit together.)

Seal Rui au- How exactly did the human/sea creature hybrids come to exist? It's been stated that Rui and the other sea people were kinda just born like that, and the humans are... Well, humans, but where did people like Honami come from? Were they also just born like that by chance, or are they the hybrid offspring of humans and sea people, or is it some secret third thing I haven't thought of? Is there an explanation at all?

Starshine au- You said in an earlier post that Saki, Toya, Haruka, and Kanade would also be little alien things along with Tsukasa (and you also said that this AU is RuiKasa centric, so I get it if you haven't thought about this at all), but what are the rest of Leo/Need up to? Do they still exist as a group just without Saki? Are Ichika, Honami, and Shiho not in a band/not friends at all in this AU? Do they act as hosts that Saki feeds off of like Tsukasa does to Rui? Are they also squishy little alien thingies?

Are all the other units essentially going through their own version of "what if this very important group member never actually existed as a human?" in the background while we focus on RuiKasa/WxS?

I highly doubt any of these things will ever come up in these stories proper, but I'm very curious about these things, lol. Thank you for responding <3

(Also, not a question, but if I had a nickel for every time Tsukasa in one of your au's was hiding from Saki that he was dating a nonhuman (seal Rui and vampire Rui), only for Saki to also be dating a nonhuman without him knowing, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's funny that it happened twice, lol.)

leo/need's role is similar to rui and nene's. i think it'd be fun if one (or more) of them were ex-idols (or formerly in the industry, if not an actual idol), but currently they're not. saki is estranged from tsukasa. i don't have much thought out for what's going on between them?? they do still care about each other, but tsukasa's head is so far up his own ass that saki has stepped back from trying to deal with him. it's very complicated between the two.. they'll still message or meet for birthdays/important events but it's Very Tense. and they're both secretly upset about it.

honami is the result of a human/sea creature hybrid! thus, she has legs.

the rest of leo/need exists in starshine, but they're not a band. they're former childhood friends.. funny enough, like in canon, saki does bring them together. she feeds off of all of them, just clinging to whichever one is currently feeling the worst. she doesn't really have to do much to manipulate any of them since she has three whole hosts. she's doing it better than tsukasa... but yes, pretty much! minori is haruka's host, akito is toya' host, mafuyu is kanade's host (though kanade doesn't really have to do much), and i'm thinking about also making an a little alien creature thang, with kohane as her host. because i think the vivids could still form without akitoya, and i cannot let that happen.

a/n - first writing post since my break! hope you all enjoy!! in case anyone has been wondering where i've been, here's a longer post explaining my reasonings for being gone. as i'm intending to do something for my favorite member of each unit, part two will be the last two characters im missing!

"Ah, Hona! This place looks nice, doesn't it?"

Your girlfriend turns her attention to the café you were standing in front of. She studies it carefully, putting a hand to her chin in thought.

"I've never eaten here before... Although, I think a friend of mine has spoken about it before." She glances at you and smiles softly. "Maybe we could try it out?"

You nod eagerly, taking her hand and leading her inside. The atmosphere inside the cafe was pleasant, with quiet chatter coming from the people sitting at the tables, the gentle clanking of cutlery against plates, and soft music playing through the speakers.

The two of you were quickly seated. The chairs were surprisingly plush and comfortable, making you feel right at home immediately.

Honami scans the menu, her face creased in thought. You can't help but think this expression is cute on her - then again, no matter what she was doing, you'd think she was cute.

"I want to try this sandwich," she says, pointing to an option on the menu. "It's something I've never had before, but it sounds tasty..."

She looks up at you, smiling curiously. "What about you?"

You hum in thought, scanning it for yourself. You weren't actually all that hungry at the moment, so you decided to get something light.

"Maybe their specialty soup. It sounds pretty nice, plus I haven't actually had soup in a while." You respond, leaning your chin on your hands.

Honami looks satisfied by that, nodding and closing the menu. Before long, the two of you had ordered, and were now eating your meals.

"Man, I'm stuffed." You sigh in relief, leaning back after finishing your meal.

Honami had finished shortly before you, despite the fact her meal was bigger than yours. She clasps her hands together, looking quite pleased. "Did you enjoy your meal, love?"

You nod eagerly. "Mhm! Your friend was right about this place, the food's good."

Honami giggles lightly. "Then I suppose we'll have to come here on dates more often then, right?"

You grin right back at her. "Mhm! Definitely!"

After you had paid for the food you ordered and were leaving, you gently nudged Honami's side. "Wanna get some apple pies on the way home?"

Her eyes lit up in joy, making your heart feel warm and tingly. "Of course! We'll share them together!"

Beaming, Honami takes your hand in her gentle one, and leads you away.

You hum a gentle tune to yourself as you set out all of the baking ingredients on the kitchen countertop. You glance over at Minori, who was reading the recipe carefully.

"Thats's everything, right?"

After some thought, Minori beams and nods happily. "Mhm! That's all the ingredients we need! Now we can finally get to actually making the cupcakes!"

You excitedly clap your hands together, bouncing on the tips of your feet. You've always dreamed about baking with your girlfriend... it seemed so romantic to you!

"Let's get to it!" You exclaim, causing Minori to also bounce on her feet and lean over the recipe.

"Okay... First we need to measure out the flour..."

The entire time the two of you had been baking, you had been hoping for some way to let you do a sweet romantic gesture for your girlfriend. Maybe when she's having trouble with something, I'll wrap my arms around her from behind and help her with it! Hehe, I'm sure that would make her swoon!

Despite your mini fantasies, however, no such opportunity arose. Minori was actually a really capable baker, which you probably should have guessed - she does work at a cafe, after all. You couldn't be too disappointed about this though, you had made a delicious batch of cupcakes! Well, you'd hoped so. They weren't done yet, they had just been put into the oven.

Minori hums a tune to herself as she starts putting the ingredients away. You had been a little zoned out as you watched her, before quickly snapping out of it and realising you should help.

You try to call out to Minori that you'll get the flour, but you don't manage to say it in time as you both pick it up at the same time and pull it towards yourself, causing the bag to tear a little and for flour to spill everywhere.

You immediately begin spewing apologies. "I'm so sorry! I should have called out sooner that I would get the flour, oh no..."

"No no, it's my fault!" Minori responds, shaking her head as she looks up at you with worried eyes. "I should have seen you were reaching for it and got something else! Oh, and now you're covered in flour..."

Well, you weren't covered. A little bit of it had gotten onto your face and hair, however. "Let me try and..."

Minori reaches up and tries to dust the flour off of you, but with her own flour-covered fingers, it only spreads the flour on your face.

"Ack!" Her worry grows, creasing her face further. "Oh goodness, I'm just making everything worse... I-I'm sorr-"

"Hey, it's okay!" You try to soothe her, clearly she felt more beat-up about this than you did. She probably thought that her bad luck was causing things to go wrong again. "Let's just put the flour away, and then start cleaning it up, alright? Plus, it's just a little flour on my face. I'll survive."

Minori still looks guilty, but your joking made her smile again. "Alright. And then we can pipe the icing, right?"

"Of course!" You beam. "But for now, let's get this all cleaned up."

You ring the doorbell and wait outside of the Shinonome household, hands clasped around the strap on your bag. You were fairly excited, as it wasn't often you actually came over to Akito's house. He usually came to yours.

Soon enough, Akito answered the door, his usual casual smile on his face as he opened the door.

"There you are. I was wondering if you were ever gonna show up," he lightly teases you, causing you to playfully roll your eyes.

"I'm a slow walker. Not my fault you live too far away from me." You walk past him as he shuts the door behind you. "Anyway, it doesn't matter, 'cause now I'm here and you have to deal with me for the rest of the night!"

Akito chuckles lightly as he leads you to his room, nudging you in the side. "Oh, the horror. How will I ever survive?"

You turn around and nudge him right back, slightly harder than he nudged you (although not nearly enough to hurt him). "Shut up, you love me."

Akito might have tried to nudge you back if you hadn't collapsed onto his bed, letting out a sigh of relief. "That's so much better... My legs hurt like hell."

Your boyfriend takes a seat beside you, eyeing the bag you brought with you. "Did you bring something to sleep in? That bag doesn't look very big."

You open the bag, shifting through it. "Of course I did! I made sure to put it out on my bed the night before so I wouldn't forget. Hold on..."

A few moments of silence pass. You shift through your bag with increasing worry as Akito's amusement at your shortcomings grows.

"I... It- It's here, hold on..."

Akito folds his arms, leaning forward. "I think you forgot your bedclothes."

"I might have... done that." You clear your throat and avert your gaze, your cheeks flushing slightly in embarrassment.

Akito shrugs, getting up and beginning to root through his closet. "It's fine. I've got this hoodie that's pretty oversized on me, you should be able to use it just fine."

Your eyes light up in joy and you smile, eager to wear his clothes. "Thank you, 'Kito!! You're the best!"

You jump up and wrap your arms around him in a tight hug, causing him to yelp and almost drop the hoodie he was holding.

"Your hugs are weirdly strong for someone who can barely walk to my house," he sighs and hugs you back, smiling.

You narrow your eyes at him and pull away, pretending to be annoyed by that comment.

Akito laughs again at your misfortune (which you think is rather rude of him, to be honest!) before sitting down on his bed, pulling his laptop over and opening it.

Intrigued, you sit beside him, leaning on his shoulder to watch the screen. "What are you doing?"

"We're gonna watch a movie, aren't we?" He glances at you out of the corner of his eye before pulling up his streaming service platform of choice. "We always do that whenever I stay over at yours."

You'd kind of forgotten about that. But it makes sense - what else were you gonna do? Talk? Cuddle? Both at the same time? That sounded really nice actually, but it was probably too late for that now.

"Right. What are we watching?"

"A movie Kohane told me about. Apparently her and An went to go see it together, and they both liked it."

Sounded pretty good to you. You trusted An and Kohane's taste in movies.

Akito made sure the two of you were comfortable before putting the movie on, which included wrapping a blanket around the two of you.

The movie played on, but you weren't paying attention. The warmth of the blanket, combined with Akito's comforting presence and the feeling of his head resting on yours was making you feel pretty sleepy. You at least tried to pay attention to the movie, but your eyelids were getting heavy.

"Hey, 'Kito?"

"Hm?" He shifts his head slightly to look at you.

"I lied earlier," you confess sleepily as your eyes gradually close. "I didn't forget my bedclothes. I just wanted to wear your clothes."

Akito is silent for a few moments, before you hear the rumbling of his laughter against the side of your head. "I should've known. You were way too eager when I told you you could wear it. You're the worst, you know?"

You didn't respond. You had already fallen asleep.

Akito watches you for a few moments before stopping the movie and putting it down, pulling you closer and getting the two of you into a comfier position.

"Sleep well."

ShiHonami Tickle Headcanons

This is not proofread. I'd say I'm sorry, but I'm not. Have a ^-^ Honami as an apology.

My beloveds.

I don’t think either of them like tickle fights.

Overwhelming for Shiho in a sensory way and overwhelming for Honami in a “oh no what how am I supposed to act? Do they like it? Do I like it? I’m laughing but I’m supposed to be fighting back.” Just too much emotional input at the same time, poor girl.

So instead of a tickle “fight” they have little back and forths. One tickles the other without any resistance and when either one of them wants to flip roles, they’ll say “your turn” and immediately they’ll stop and readjust. 

Shiho felt especially silly the first few times they did it and would wait for Honami to flip them. (It was definitely Honami’s idea in the first place) With time though, she came around to it and actually began to really love being able to have an easy way to get a break when the tickling got to be too much and to subtly-not-so-subtly be on the receiving end when she was ready again. 

(I actually really love this idea. May or may not end up doing something more with it.) 

Mean ler Shiho x Shy lee Hona and Soft ler Hona x Grumpy/Embarrassed lee Shiho. That is the whole dynamic here. End of post. Enough said. 

I think it would take a while for Shiho to really warm up to “mean” territory. Saki instigated a lot of tickling when they were little but that was really the last time Shiho or Honami tried tickling each other until they were dating.

It’s not like either of them were uncomfortable with the idea of tickling each other. Quite the contrary actually, but Shiho never knew how to start it and Honami was always too scared of springing it on Shiho and embarrassing her. 

It would have to be an accident the first time. I’m thinking along the lines of Honami affectionately stroking Shiho’s back and getting a liiiittle too close to her sides and thinking she’s squirming trying to get comfortable so Honami grabs her sides to help adjust. Shiho’s yelp out of nowhere makes the conversation kind of inevitable. 

Shiho is tragically embarrassed with anything affection-wise to begin with. How could anyone expect the same girl who just about combusted the first time Honami held her hand to have a collected reaction to tickling? 

Honami, however, is only a little flustered but that all but melts away the moment she sees just how bad Shiho has it. She’s a saint when it comes to getting her girlfriend to calm down. She’s very patient and likes to take everything very slow for her. 

Starting with little strokes and pokes and ramping up to more laughter inducing tickles. 

While sweet, this drives Shiho absolutely insane. It’s just so much build up, sometimes she’d rather Honami just throw her in the deep end. 

To make it worse, Shiho doesn’t really have a “giggle stage.” She’s so ticklish it's either face scrunched and red or loud belly laughs. Very little room for inbetween.

I imagine she has a really high pitched and squeaky tickle laugh. Almost like a continuous voice crack. Honami finds it adorable, of course, and actually gets a little sad when Shiho tries to hide it. 

Shiho isn’t much of a squirmer but MAN is she a kicker. To the point either pinning or dodging her is almost a necessity. Apologizes profusely if she ever kicks Honami (and only Honami. Anyone else tickling her deserved it) 

Honami loves loves loves getting to kiss Shiho’s stomach.

She always has the best reactions to it too. Jerking her head back and forth and going all red. Sucking in her tummy like that’s going to protect it. 

 Not even because it tickles all that much (comparatively) but just because the action of her girlfriend having her in such a vulnerable position, flat on her back and kissing her stomach is just so silly and makes her feel so small and cared for is IMMENSELY flustering. 

Honami’s sweetness just really gets to her on a psychological level. 

Another pairing that is sweet ler x asshole ler

When Shiho gets going on the tickling, she GETS going. The problem is just getting her to that point. 

When she’s sure of herself and Honami is clearly VERY happy and eager, Shiho holds nothing back. Full on side splitting laughing and nonstop teases for the lee.

“Aw, going to squirm Hona? That’s so cute watching how helpless and ticklish you are. You wouldn’t stop me even if you could and we both know it.” Type of beat. 

Honami likes it far more than she’d like to admit. Shiho just has this tone that even in a completely normal, non tickling context can get her lee. 

Honami loves being in a lee mood almost more than any other feeling in the world. It feels so warm and all encompassing. 

She can’t think about anything but tickles really. It doesn’t happen often but when it does, it goes all the way. 

She used to feel guilty about expressing it to Shiho just how *bad* it is but after many, many, reminders, she finally got it into her brain that her girlfriend finds it absolutely precious. 

Shiho can be soft, especially when she knows it’s Honami’s favorite, she just gets impossibly even more shy at it. 

Doesn’t tease much when Honami just needs some smiles and relaxation. 

Very soft tracing, almost as if she’s scared too much will break her. 

Shiho will almost never go for her unprovoked. And is unfortunately absolute garbage at being able to tell when she’s being provoked. 

But all Honami has to do is look at her with her blush and shy little smile asking for it and Shiho is all over her. 

When Shizuku would be clingy/force her sister into a hug as kids, Shiho learned that tasing her sides got her to jump back long enough to push away and developed the unfortunate habit of delivering that treatment to anyone who hugs her out of nowhere. Honami’s sides aren’t bad enough to have that strong of an effect consistently but typically gets her giggly enough to get Shiho in a playful ler mood just watching her. She retaliates from the hug attack with a full strength tickle attack.

I’m back to finish up the phone usage headcanons for the other units. :D May be a biiit ooc bc i haven’t actually read the event stories for any unit besides vbs so. There’s the disclaimer.

Ichika: Idt she would use it much. Might post some pictures of her friends on sekaiverse-insta or something, but her account is set to friends-only (or whatever it’s called).

Saki: Since she didn’t have anything to really do in the hospital if anyone was visiting she would probably spend some time online. She seems like she would be very active in fandom spaces, and make a few online friends that cheer her up on the harder days. After she gets out, she would probably start posting pictures of her with her friends more as a way to keep the happy memories. She still keeps touch with some of her online friends when she can.

Honami: She doesn’t seem like someone that would be a regular user. Maybe she would follow a few cooking channels on whatever the sekaiverse version of youtube is though. She might’ve gotten sekai-insta out of peer pressure, and then blocked the meaner people to start the healing process after the main story (not projecting trust).

Shiho: She seems like she would be either a sekai-reddit or sekai-tumblr user. Not a bad thing, look at what *I’m* using, but it’s just the vibes I get from her. I think her account for insta would be the one they use to advertise l/n, like when they have shows, similar to An. She seems like she would be the most responsible, and least likely to accidentally like or post something on the wrong account. She did it once when she liked one of MMJ’s posts (focused on Shizuku) and no one has let her live it down since.

Have the motion capture artists ever been credited? Do we know if the same person portrays the same character every time?

I don't think they're credited in game but I did manage to find them a few months ago. All the mocap is done by a company called Solid Cube. They post the mocap artists for each MV on their twitter account, but don't say who played who so I've only been able to work out the mocap artists for a few characters.

Rui is always played by an actor called Masaki Murakami. The only reason I was able to work this out is because Murakami is the only male mocap artist credited on the Sukina Koto Dake no Ii desu MV, and is credited on almost every other WxS MVs but only ones that feature Rui (Oki ni Mesu mama being the only exception I could find. Maybe he was sick that day). Murakami also seems to be the mocap artist for KAITO aside from MVs that have Rui in them, and sometimes for either Akito or Toya (no way to tell which one).

I think Kohane is played by an actress called Maimi Atarashi. She did a stream with Akina back in 2022 where they talked about 3DMVs. Also she's credited on Wah Wah World and the unit rep songs and she is credited on almost every MMJ MV but based on the fact she's credited for Romeo to Cinderella she's not the actress for Minori. I think she's also the actress for Emu, since she's credited on a shitload of WxS MVs including Sukina Koto Dake no Ii desu, alongside an actress that I'm like 99% sure is the primary actress for female vsingers.

I also think that someone called Jakko is the regular mocap artist for female vsingers, and she's the mocap artist for Blue Planet so this holds some weight. Jakko also did the mocap for Luka's Afterglow MV. Jakko is credited on an assortment of other 3DMVs as well, like Children Record (I'm assuming she plays An) and Tondemo-Wonderz (likely as Emu, considering Maimi Atarashi isn't credited)

Len seems to be played by an actor called Keito Okuyama. He did the mocap for Buta ni Natte yeah yeah and is credited on various other Len MVs, like Flyer! and Watashi wa Watashitachi wa (which he definitely has to be Len in). This guy is also credited on quite a few WxS 3DMVs, so it's safe to say he's the regular mocap artist for Tsukasa (in instances of Len and Tsukasa being in the same 3DMV, I'm not sure which one gets swapped out).

Due to Leo/need playing instruments, they have mocap actors who can play the instruments. One of these is actors is called Moe Hirakawa (not entirely sure if that's the right reading of Kanji) who upon looking her up turned out to be a drummer, so there's Honami. The others that are most frequently credited are Hiyu Tsukigami (who is apparently an idol but I couldn't find anything about her playing instruments), chloe (basically impossible to google), and Reika Kisumi who is actually an actress under Solid Cube. I believe Kisumi is the mocap artist for Ichika, since she's credited on the unit leader songs as well.

Also we can work out Kanade based on some cast lists for Colorful Lives. The credits for SEKAI list Keito Okuyama (Tsukasa), Jakko (Miku), Reika Kisumi (Ichika) and another actress called Kanon Ookawa. Ookawa is also credited for multiple Niigo songs, including the Kanade/Mafuyu/Miku cover of Cutlery, so yeah she's Kanade. For lives at least. Journey 3DMV credits someone named Yukari instead, but Journey live credits Ookawa again. More recent 3DMVs don't credit either of these people just to make my life harder.

Continuing with Colorful Live credits, Wah Wah World lists an actress called Yuuka Nakanishi alongside Jakko and Maimi Atarashi, so we can assume that Nakanishi is Minori. She's also credited for multiple MMJ 3DMVs, so it's incredibly likely.

That Yukari person I mentioned is also credited on a lot of MMJ 3DMVs and live choreo. I think she might be Shizuku. Sometimes Ookawa and Yukari are credited alongside each other in Niigo MVs/lives, and in those instances I'm not sure who is playing Kanade and who's playing Mafuyu.

I worked out some other stuff but this is long so just check under the cut for a speculative cast list.

Minori: Wears a knee-brace. Very much inspired by her Spojoy outfit.

Haruka: Binges penguin nature documentaries while doing her homework.

Airi: (Inspired by a post I saw at some point) She naturally has strawberry blond hair, but dyes it pink.

Shizuku: Loves to play with others’ hair. Shiho was her primary victim when they were younger, and now MMJ happily lets her (especially Minori.)

Kohane: Can somehow carry everyone in VBS. She struggles with Toya due to the height difference.

An: has minor issues controlling the volume she speaks at since she spends a lot of time at venues and is used to yelling.

Akito: He wears contacts because both Shinonomes cannot see.

Toya: Animals flock to him like they would a Disney princess.

Tsukasa: He has fallen down the stairs in his house multiple times and somehow comes out unscathed every time.

Emu: Always wins when they play board games due to her insane luck.

Nene: She has back issues and has to stretch a lot before practice if she wants to move a ton. It’s slowly getting better thanks to her troupe members.

Rui: He and Honami are cousins + he’s British-Japanese.

Kanade: When she’s in a half asleep-half awake stay, Kanade tends to brush through her hair with her fingers.

Mafuyu: Practices her smile in the mirror in attempts to replicate ones that didn’t frighten Emu.

Ena: Has incredibly high spice tolerance. She could eat a whole bowl of spicy curry and not even flinch.

Mizuki: Cuts all of 25ji’s hair due to having experience from cutting their own and loves to style Kanade, Mafuyu, and Ena’s different types of hair.

Important Announcement

This is going to be a long one, sorry in advance.

First, I want to apologize for my lack of activity in terms of anything other than random updates here and there. I promised consistent polls and community engagement. I haven't made good on that progress for these past months. I'll get back to this topic in a bit though.

For now, the other important topic is Mod Honami. She has decided to step down from being a part of this blog. Her time here was short, but she will be missed regardless. I hope you will all wish her the best going forward.

Now for the future of this blog...

The original idea for this blog was to see the general community opinion of every ship combination. When I made this blog, poly ships and NPCs weren't really part of the equation. I planned to include the unit poly ships, but didn't think any other poly ships would be requested that much or even very popular. My original estimate of how long this blog would last was around 6 months. As it stands, there are only 47 player character mono ships out of around 175. For now, I'm only going to be posting these ships. At noon central time on September 2nd, the final stretch of polls will begin going up. Once those polls are finished running, I will post some final statistics and will then begin operating this account much differently.

Once the final statistics go up, I will only be posting ships if people DM this account directly with an edited picture/fanart to use for the image. I apologize to all of the people who have sent ships into the ask box and waited incredibly patiently for the polls to go up, but it just isn't something I can do right now.

Now, back to the first point, my constant inactivity. This is a bit personal, so I'm going to put it under Read More. If you've read up to this point thank you so much and thank you all for your incredible support. I know I haven't handled this blog as best as I could have but thank you for all of your patience and kind words regardless.

I've just started my junior year of college, and I haven't handled it very well so far. I've failed or withdrawn from at least one class a semester, with all of my other classes usually falling down to a D, and I've considered dropping out more times than I can count. I'm at my third college and second switched major so far and really want to succeed which has led me to the unfortunate realization that, if I want to succeed in school, having hobbies, especially time-consuming ones like running this blog, isn't really an option for me. Even just a week into the school year, I've spent most of my time doing homework or working on things for the future, only taking breaks to eat or occasionally exercise. This realization has been a long time coming and is incredibly frustrating. I know my limitations as a person, but I still feel I've let you all down because of them. I want to keep running this blog and interacting with all of you and this community, but it just isn't possible right now.

For those of you who have stuck around, I can't thank you enough, and for those who have unfollowed or stopped engaging with the polls, I completely understand and am sorry for not fulfilling what I promised to you all.
