I was thinking that it could either be actual ‘oh no I have a crush on this guy’ OR Joker being liminal enough and ghostly enough to sense the otherworldliness of Danny Fenton. An otherness that Joker just wants. Like a hungry, starved beast that had finally found a proper meal instead of the bone scraps he’s been trying to scrap off of Batman.

He doesn’t even realize what it is he wants either, only that he wants to pull Danny’s skin back and nestle inside.

Danny on the other hand knows, he’s gone through a few ghostly sessions to understand that Joker is starved, and empty, and already half mad from hunger that he is willing to try and grab a fully loaded half ghost that could still kick his ass.

I just like the idea of everyone’s horror pov of the Joker trying to attract this one civilian guy and Danny just being annoyed by this one scraggly alley cat trying to gnaw on his arm.

danny tracks down his uncle jack to gotham (either his family dies or it’s unsafe in amity etc). joker initially doesn’t know what to do with this piece of his past, but decides to take meds and take care of the kid (batman: white knight joker!!!). the batfam is super confused and concerned at this development and red hood is livid. danny thinks uncle jack is nice tho and always has good jokes to tell :) (dealer’s choice if he realizes his uncle was the joker or helps him change his ways- i.e reminding him to take his meds, no uncle put down the gun, etc)

when his uncle becomes mayor tho vlad finally tracks danny down and now amity park’s mayor has some weird beef with gotham’s

I am a bit disappointed that for a book about Damian finding his place as robin they have once again left out Steph as a robin (or at least looks like it based on the line up in the first issue)

THIS is extremely real. it is cruel and unfair that its supposed to be about robin's place in gotham & with batman and steph isnt there. at the very least there are so many possible parallels with steph feeling unsure about her position as robin and unsure about how batman feels about her and comparing herself to the other robins, which is EXACTLY what damian is going through in this book. and all that is WASTED because they rarely acknowledge that steph was robin outside of vague mentions (and robins 2021 for some reason. how is that book winning) so we dont get to see how she'd be used in this book. i want more steph & damian content so bad SAVE ME BATGIRL 2009 not to mention robin steph would look so cute in juni ba's art style 💔 im in mourning it could've been so good
