Rollerblading
(Bc I’m super lazy and cannot think of a title)
(We’re just gonna ignore the fact that this makes no sense in the context of any particular time period and we’re also gonna pretend that rollerblade existed before 1980)
********
“Aim for the pole,” Remus shouted.
“I am aiming for the bloody pole, Remus,” Sirius snapped back.
He really was aiming for the pole, he just wasn’t sure if he was going to get there. Sirius typically wasn’t one to lose his balance, he was incredibly steady on his feet from years of being subjected to tedious posture and dance lessons by his mother. Which was why he’d quickly agreed when Remus asked him if he’d like him to teach him rollerblading. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Sirius was all for learning about Muggle inventions, they genuinely interested him and the fact that it royally pissed off his Mother was an added bonus. Besides, any excuse to spend more time with his Moony was a good one. How hard could it be?
Turns out learning to skate had been way harder than he’d expected it to be. He found that he wasn’t particularly fond of having the use of his feet inhibited by the skates, his walking function replaced with the unsteady roll of the wheels beneath him. He’d already fallen more times than he’d ever care to admit— especially not to James — and was seriously starting to regret refusing those protective pads Remus had offered him before they left.
“You sure you don’t want them?” Remus had asked.
“Positive.”
“It’s going to hurt when you fall,” Remus said with a sigh.
“Who said I’m going to fall?”
“Fine. If you fall.”
“I won’t.” Remus had given him a skeptical look. Clearly not convinced.
“Besides, if I do what’s a little bit of gravel going to do to me?”
A lot, Sirius thought bitterly. It’s going to do a lot. There were small indents littered across his palms from where tiny rocks and sticks had pressed into them from his falls. A long, thin scratch that curved up the side of his index finger still stung from where he’d dragged it across the ground.
He finally reached the pole, stretching his arms out to brace for the impact. Remus, who had skated ahead while he waited, was now making his way back towards Sirius. Lazily skating backwards and then turning sharply on the backs of his skates and braking in front of Sirius.
“Show off,” Sirius grumbled.
Remus grinned at him, chuckling slightly at the way his boyfriend was wrapped around the metal pole of the stop sign.
“What?” Sirius asked.
“Nothing.” Catching a glimpse at the look Sirius was giving him Remus held up his hands. “Really, it’s nothing. Well it’s just — you thought this would be easy didn’t you?”
“I did not.”
Remus grinned and bit his lip. “ Well if I remember correctly you said —“
“I said absolutely nothing of the sort,” Sirius said, cutting him off.
Taking a deep breath he pushed off from the stop sign, struggling to maintain his balance as he skated ahead.
Sirius turned slightly. “Well come on then,” he called behind him. “Wouldn’t want me to go too far ahead and get lost would you?”
Remus snorted. The trail was a straight shot to his house. The only way Sirius could get lost was if he tripped over a rock and slid down into one of the creeks that bordered the path.
Nonetheless he pushed off, catching up to Sirius in only a fraction of the time it had taken him to get to where he was.
Remus watched for a bit as Sirius rolled down the path, making quite an effort to avoid the occasional large rock or stick. He had been thrilled when Sirius agreed to come along, counting down the days until Sirius came over. Remus smiled at his boyfriend, sighing softly.
“What,” Sirius asked curiously. They’d come to another intersection and Sirius was now leaning against another sign post.
Remus shook his head. “Nothing, just happy that you’re here.”
The light changed to green and they started off again. Remus skated further up the trail, effortlessly controlling his movements.
“How do you do that?” Sirius asked.
Remus turned around. “Do what?”
Sirius rolled his eyes. Remus knew exactly what he was talking about, he just wanted Sirius to say he was good at what he was doing.
“Skate like that.”
“Like what?” Remus countered, snickering.
“Ha-ha, wise guy. You know what I mean.”
Remus spun quickly on his heel, causing Sirius to suck in a breath. He was starting to understand the anxiety Remus got whenever he and James did a particularly dangerous stunt on the quidditch pitch.
“I dunno. I guess I’ve just been doing it so long that it’s natural?”
Remus weaved around Sirius, skating forward and backwards in a small circle around him.
Sirius nodded, instantly regretting the movement a moment later when his center of gravity dipped and his balance was thrown off. Remus caught him by the elbow, hoisting him up to his feet before he could fall.
“That makes sense,” Sirius said once he was stable again. “Kinda like me and flying.”
“Yeah except rollerblades didn’t start out as cleaning objects.”
Sirius groaned. “Give it a rest, Remus. Brooms aren’t that bad.”
Remus shrugged, digging his heel into the ground as they came up to another corner.
“I’m just saying you shouldn’t be flying on things that are supposed to clean your kitchen.”
“I won’t dignify that with an answer,” Sirius replied.
“You don’t have to. Here, take my hand.”
Sirius slipped his hand into Remus’ and gave his boyfriend a quizzical look. “What are you doing.”
“Taking you for a ride,” Remus answered, peaking around the corner for oncoming traffic. He turned back to Sirius who was waggling his eyebrows suggestively.
Remus smacked his shoulder. “Merlin, Sirius! What’s wrong with you?”
Sirius laughed, “A lot of things.”
Remus rolled his eyes before tugging Sirius forward and across the street. Sirius death-grilling his hand as he tugged him along.
“Christ Remus, slow down.”
Remus ignored him. “Think of it like walking.”
“This,” Sirius said, each syllable strained with tension. “Is nothing like walking.”
“Sure it is,” Remus laughed. “You just use your legs to push you forward.”
“Remus,” Sirius said calmly. “You’re an idiot.”
“Noted. Now I’m going let go—“
“What?! Remus we’re going way too fast. You can’t just let me go!”
“I can and will. Releasing in five…”
“Remus no.”
“Four…”
“I mean it I’m going to hurt you.”
“Three…”
“Remus, I’m Sirius —“
“Of course you are.”
“That isn’t funny.”
“You always seem to think it’s hilarious. Two…”
“Please don’t,” Sirius said tightening his grip.
“And one.”
Remus let go of Sirius’ hand, twisting his own so that he could get away.
Meanwhile Sirius was struggling to not fall on his face. Mentally trying to conjure up what Remus had been telling him during this joy ride of doom.
“Fuck, ok, fuck. What did Remus say? Just alternate pushing, left, right, left, right. Just like walking. Just. Like. Walking.”
Taking deep breaths Sirius slowly pushed his left leg out to the side. Drawing it back in and then repeating the same motion with the opposite leg.
“I’m doing it! Holy shit I’m actually doing it! REMUS.”
Remus spun around again, laughing joyfully when he saw Sirius awkwardly skating towards him.
For a moment Sirius understood why Remus enjoyed this insane sport. The feeling of the breeze as it slipped through your fingers and the warm summer sun streaking across your face. For a moment everything was perfect until —
“Sirius watch out for that—“
He didn’t hear the rest of the sentence. He didn’t really need to, either. Sirius could probably guess it ended with “rock” or “stick” or “large object that will cause you to end up flat on your back.”
Sirius closed his eyes and groaned. He made a mental note to never go rollerblading with Remus ever again.
The sun disappeared from his face and Sirius opened his eyes and looked up. Remus was looming over him, blocking the sun and wearing a shit eating grin on his face.
“Need a hand?”
“Yes you arse.”
Still grinning, Remus crouched down, gripping Sirius by the waist and pulling him back to his feet.
“What are you chuckling about?” Sirius grumbled irritably, dusting off bits of gravel and dirt.
“This is payback for that tunnel of love ride.”
Sirius shoved Remus away from him, glaring. “You’re still on about that? That was months ago Moony. Give it a rest.”
“Never,” Remus said, picking a twig out of Sirius’ hair.
“For the record, you did really well for your first time.”
“Uh huh,” Sirius said, he didn’t believe that for a second.
“No really, you did.” Remus said earnestly.
When Sirius went on ignoring him, Remus rolled his eyes and dragged his boyfriend closer to him, pressing their lips together. Sirius melted into the kiss, his hands finding their way into Remus hair. Twisting into the tawny brown curls.
From somewhere to the side of them, they heard someone whistle as they passed by. They broke apart, Remus smiling down at Sirius.
“I’m sorry for laughing.”
Sirius leaned further into Remus, resting his cheek against his chest. “‘Sokay.”
Remus looked up at the sky. “We’d better get going. It’ll be dark soon.”
Sirius nodded in agreement. He hadn’t dressed for colder weather.
“Wanna come rollerblading with me again tomorrow?”
Sirius looked up at Remus, scowling. “Are you out of your mind? I won’t be able to walk for the next week and you’re asking me—“
Sirius stopped mid-sentence, Remus was giving him a pleading look. Sirius sighed.
“Alright, yes. Fine. I’ll go.”
The smile that Remus gave him in return was worth it. The sun bathing his skin in a warm glow, making him take on an almost golden hue.
“But only if you kiss me first.”
Remus’ smile widened. “Done.”
This is totally worth it, Sirius found himself thinking. Then, Remus leaned down and kissed him and the whole world faded into shades of gold.

Forgotten (Leah Williamson x Reader)
You woke up with an extra little pep in your step. It was your birthday and this was the first one that you’d get to spend with your beautiful girlfriend, Leah. She probably had something special planned for the two of you to do after practice and everything. Leah was just amazing like that, she never forgot about something, especially if it had to do with you. You checked your phone and had a bunch of messages from your friends and family, wishing you a happy birthday. Everybody seemed to remember, everybody except for Leah.
“It’s fine, she’s just busy planning something,” you said to yourself. You got ready and while Leah did text you to say good morning, she didn’t mention your birthday. She had also texted to cancel the breakfast that the two of you were supposed to enjoy together. That had been the biggest disappointment of your day. Leah promised that she’d make it up to you, so you tried not to dwell on it all that much.
“Happy birthday buddy,” Beth Mead, one of your close friends on the team, said. You turned and hugged her tightly. “Where’s Leah?”
“I don’t know, she cancelled breakfast this morning,” you said sadly. Beth put her arm around you and the two of you walked into the locker room. Leah was late to practice and she definitely seemed a bit frazzled. You excused her not saying anything about your birthday, even with Beth’s no so subtle reminders.
“You look gorgeous,” Leah said sweetly as she gave you a quick peck on the lips. You blushed and kissed her back a little more firmly.
“Anything else you wanna tell me?” you asked with hope that she would catch on to what you were laying down. Sadly, she did not and that was when you realized that Leah Williamson had forgotten something. She had forgotten your birthday and you were absolutely crushed about it. Beth could tell and she promised to take you out for celebratory drinks and not invite Leah.
“I’m going to ask you in front of her to come with us,” Beth said and you rolled your eyes. It was childish, but at the same time, would definitely make Leah a bit jealous. The two of you waited until after practice when everybody was changing from their practice gear to street clothes. “Hey Y/n, are you busy tonight?”
“I am not Beth, why do you ask?” you asked and Leah’s head perked up a bit.
“Because I was going to get drinks with the Dutchies and maybe a couple of other people. Your sister is in town isn’t she?” Beth asked and you nodded. “Well, let’s invite her and just have a nice night out.”
“That sounds great, 9?” you asked and Beth nodded in confirmation. “Leah, you don’t mind do you?”
“No, I’ve got a lot to do tonight anyways. I should get going, I’ve got to meet with somebody about a possible accounting job,” Leah said and you nodded. She walked away unbothered and that hit you where it hurt. You turned to Beth and the small woman put her arms around you.
“It’s okay, she’s a prat sometimes,” Beth said and you nodded.
“The day isn’t over, maybe she didn’t really forget,” Daan said and you sighed. You knew that she had forgotten or else she would have objected to you going out. Leah didn’t like it whenever plans got in the way of her surprises. You remembered the time that Leah had freaked out on Jill for taking you rollerblading on the same day as her romantic six month anniversary dinner. Well, you assumed she was more upset with the fact that you were about an hour late and a bit more than tipsy.
“It’s whatever,” you said. You were trying to sound unbothered, but your voice was full of emotion. That night, when you went out, you drank and drank. Leah wasn’t there to stop you and you knew that she hated it whenever you got really drunk. Beth posted on her Instagram story about you and you made a post before you were past the point of no return thanking your friends for making it a perfect birthday and throwing a bit of shade at Leah.
“You’re ringing,” Viv said as she handed you your phone. You saw Leah’s picture on the screen and stumbled out of the pub to answer it.
“If it isn’t the bitch who almost ruined my birthday,” you slurred and Leah sighed on the other line. “Don’t even try to make me feel bad because I am having the time of my life right now.”
“I’m sorry that I forgot,” Leah apologized and you grit your teeth. You wanted to start crying, but you stayed strong. “I swear that I didn’t mean to. So many things came up today and you slipped my mind. I can’t tell you how bad I feel.”
“Can’t be as bad as I’ve been feeling all day. You never forget and you forgot me,” you sobbed out. “Anyone else could have forgotten me and it wouldn’t have hurt so badly because I kept holding out hope for you and look where it got me. I’m drunk off my ass and crying on the sidewalk.”
“Can I come and get you?” Leah asked and you agreed to let her come and get you. You waited for her on the sidewalk. Luckily, she didn’t take too long to come and get you. “Hey baby.”
“You’re an asshole,” you said as you wiped your eyes. Leah pulled you onto your feet and into her arms. She kissed your temple and helped you into her car. She took you back to her apartment and put you straight to bed. In the morning, you woke up to the smell of your favorite breakfast. It was homemade and you could tell that Leah had put in a lot of effort when she brought it to you. “What’s this about?”
“Happy belated birthday,” Leah said and you smiled at her. Leah sat with you and ate breakfast. “What do you want to do next?”
“Let’s watch a movie and cuddle,” you suggested and Leah turned on Netflix. The two of you found an old animated movie that neither of you had thought about in years, but both loved. Leah held you tightly in her arms and you nearly fell back asleep before the movie was over. After the movie, both of you showered and then Leah took you out shopping. She got you a new pair of Adidas boots and then a couple of hoodies. The two of you went out for a nice lunch that she brought over to the park. After lunch, you went home for a nap. Leah let you sleep until she had finished making a nice dinner for the two of you. “Thank you for this.”
“Thank you for forgiving me,” Leah said and you nodded. “I promise next year I won’t forget. I’ll never forget your birthday again, I promise.”
“I’m gonna hold you to that,” you told her. Leah nodded and pressed a soft kiss to your temple. Both of you knew that you weren’t joking around whenever you told her that you were going to hold her to that promise.

Okay last one for the night! “Have you ever gone ice skating before?” and 'We’re going ice-skating for the first time and you help me learn how to keep balance because I suck.'
There’s curse words in this. Additional warnings are mentions of hospital, injury and stitches!
“Have you ever gone ice skating before?” Jack asked, looking unsure at his girlfriend
She merely grinned and bounced on her toes. “You don’t grow up in the city and not learn how to ice skate. Haven’t you ever been to Rockefeller Center to ice skate?”
“Uhhhh . . . no.” Jack rubbed the back of his neck, looking bashful at Kat.
She bit her lip, a grin fighting to cross her lips. “I’ll help you.”
“We’re going to go ice-skating for the first time and you help me learn how to keep balance because I suck.” Jack looked at her as her eyes went wide.
She paused at the corner before they crossed the road. “Wait, you can rollerblade really well.”
“Yeah but that’s completely different!” Jack complained, shaking his head. “Ice vs pavement is completely different.”
Giving him a side eye, Kat bit her lip. “They’re both hard surfaces and you’re coordinated when you want to be. So ice skating shouldn’t be all that hard.”
“Kat?” Jack asked, lacing his fingers with hers as they walked across the street. “Do you remember when we watched Bambi and he slid across the frozen pond?”
Kat laughed, nodding. “Yea, what about it?”
“That’s how I’m going to be when I step foot on that ice.” Jack chuckled, as she threw her head back and laughed.
“I’m not sure that’s how it works, Jack.” She grinned. “Besides, I’ll be by your side the entire time and if we need to, we’ll hang out along the sides.”
Jack gave her a look. “Promise?”
“Promise.” She squeezed his hand as they neared the park.
As they joined the line to pay, Jack’s lip was in between his teeth. He kept a steady eye on those skating around the rink as shrieks of excitement and oohs of pain rang out.
Once the tickets were in hand, Kat squeezed Jack’s hand as they went and got their skates. “Will you relax? Nothing is going to go wrong.”
Two Hours Later
Pacing in front of the bed, she sighed looking at Jack, who was getting stitches in his chin. “Jack, I’m so sorry.”
Jack’s eyes found hers as he grimaced. Holding out a hand to her, she accepted it, squeezing it tightly. The doctor quickly tied off the stitch before cleaning up the supplies. “You’re all set. You’ll need to follow up with your primary care physician in about a week or two to get the stitches out.”
“Will it scar?” Jack asked, wincing at the tug of the stitches.
The doctor looked up from where he was washing out. “You may have a small scar but I don’t think it’ll do too much damage to your ruggedness.”
Kat chuckled at that as Jack cracked a smile. “Let me get your discharge papers and you’ll be free to go. No driving for the next 12 hours and take it easy the first couple of days. Tylenol if you need pain killers. Any questions?”
The doctor smiled at both of them before leaving the room. Ten minutes later, they were walking out of the hospital, hand in hand, heading back to Jack’s apartment. “Jack, I shouldn’t have pushed you to go ice skating with me.”
“Hey, hey. You didn’t push me, I wanted to.” Jack squeezed her hand. “But I did tell you I was going to be like baby Bambi.”
Kat laughed at that as she pulled the car against the curb. Turning off the car, she gave Jack a look before getting out and helping Jack out of the car. Jack gave her a look. “I’ve got stitches; I’m not an invalid.”
“Then why are you leaning on me so heavily then?” Kat chirped, giving him a look as she walked up the stairs before hitting the elevator button.
Jack groaned, leaning against the back of the elevator. “Well my ass hurts from falling on the ice.”
As the elevator came to a stop, Kat offered her hand once more as they hobbled down the hallway together. Race was standing at the door waiting for them as Jack looked between his brother and girlfriend. “What the hell happened to you? Kat said that you fell and got stitches.”
“She took me ice skating.” Jack said as he hobbled inside the apartment before collapsing onto the couch with a loud groan.
Race threw his head back and laughed, loudly. “Kat haven’t you learned that he’s a baby Bambi on ice yet?”
“I apparently just learned it.” Kat gave the brothers a look. “He’s got ten stitches in his chin and a bruise on his butt.”
Race continued to laugh, looking at his brother. “Well at least the stitches won’t diminish the ruggedly handsomeness that he has going on.”
“That’s what the doctor told me too.” Jack sighed, throwing his hand over his eyes as he relaxed against the couch. “Thanks for today Kat.”
Kat leaned over and kissed his forehead. “You’re welcome. Anything I can do?”
“Nah, I’m going to stay on this couch and not move for a couple of hours.” Jack mumbled.
Kat looked over at Race with a pointed glance. “He can have Tylenol for the pain.”
“Kat?” Jack’s pitiful voice came from the couch as she walked over to it.
Running a hand through his hair, she lightly scratched her nails on his scalp. “Yeah Jack?”
“Will you cuddle with me?” He asked, taking his arm off his eyes to look up at her. “Please?”
She couldn’t help but say yes as she joined him on the couch, cuddling with her head on his chest. “Is this okay?”
He pressed a kiss to her forehead, sighing in contentment. “Thanks darlin’.”
Race left the two of them alone, chuckling, knowing that Spot would love to hear the story of Jack falling on the ice and getting stitches.
Thanks @deliciouspeachpirate for sending this in! This stumped me for a while so I hope you enjoy it. Feedback would be wonderful!

hello there buttercup!! 🌟💝☀ it's lovely to see you again this night, morgy dear! i hope today was much better for you than yesterday, you do only deserve nice and pleasant days after all dolcezza 💞💞 (1/12?)
"in all seriousness, i'm sorry to hear that yesterday was so terrible for you my darling, but the hard part is over, you got through it! its hard when things get overwhelming, but please remember that it's okay to take a step back and get through it one day at a time!! make sure to do some things that you find relaxing/enjoyable, and if you do need/want a little cheering up at any time, don't be shy to let me know!! i have a lot of tricks up my sleeve hehe 💓 (2/12)
and oh my, you like cheesecake too dear?? ahhh it's one of my favorite classic desserts!! my favorite kinds are strawberry, key lime, and this special family recipe of mine,, it's a limoncello cheesecake with a touch of strawberry compote, it's especially refreshing during the summer! oh goodness, i'll have to make it for you sometime, i bet you'd love it! ✨ (3/12?)
ah, and the accident?? i actually don't mind talking about it since it was so many years ago, i've worked through it enough,, so i can tell you! a warning though: it is pretty brutal, so for those who are easily triggered, please scroll past for your well-being! (4/12)
it happened the weekend after one of my annual finale ballet recitals, which was strange timing indeed,, my mamma and i were driving down a highway to go home from an appointment, when a car behind us suddenly swerved and hit us from the left side, towards the back,, unfortunately i took most of the impact, but thankfully my mom wasn't too injured, just in shock (5/12)
i don't remember much except flashing lights from the police cars and people yelling, but a few minutes later i found myself being carried and placed into the back of a truck,, apparently a good samaritan wanted to help drive us to the hospital since it would take too long for the ambulance to arrive, i fell asleep and woke up in the ER (6/12)
and thank god, i didn't have any life-threatening injuries or any broken bones, just a very sprained ankle, a concussion, and cuts/bruises from glass shards,, i only stayed for a night and then we both left quickly,, what caused me to sadly stop ballet and skating wasn't the injuries themselves as much as it was the aftermath (7/12)
i found myself having a very painful time when trying to execute different moves and my endurance took a severe hit,, we soon determined that continuing such high-intensity sports in this state would be detrimental to my body,, (8/12)
it was truly crushing since being a prima donna was little me's biggest dream, but not everything works out,, i've greatly recovered over the years, but it's still difficult to do certain things because of the after-effects, so for now i'll just continue dancing and just watch figure skating and ballet from the sidelines! (9/12, i had to go on anon since i hit the limit 😅)
anyway, aside from the sad stuff, today was quite relaxing for once!! i actually ate a nice breakfast today, and i ended up spending my morning lounging around and playing minecraft, which was nice 🌸after cooking dinner for my family, i went to check on the bunnies again, and today they got themselves into a sticky situation hehehe 💫 there's a section of the garden that's fenced off, where different types of hot peppers grow,, (10/12)
they're not allowed in there since the pepper plant leaves are extremely spicy and not good for them to eat,, but somehow, they were able to jump the high fence and get inside!! the poor little bunbuns were trapped and couldn't find a way out... so i had to lure them close with vegetables and pick them up (which took all of 10 minutes) they're little troublemakers, but i guess they make up for it with cuteness 🌺 (11/12)
boh,, i seem to be getting sleepy now, maybe that's why a headache came on all of a sudden! well, i guess i'll take my leave for the night!! sleep well amore, i'll be thinking of you 💘- love from the moon and back, waifu xoxo 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗ps: rollerblading hm?? ooh, maybe you could teach me~ 😘 (12/12)"
Let me start off by saying that ur so lucky u made it out without any severe injuries like....ur life really sounds like a movie bc wtf🤡🤡 u went thru some real shit yet here u are snatchin wigs and acting like an angel, we all dont deserve u fjdhdjd like honestly thats so fucked?? Imagine loving to do smth only to not be able to do it anymore and ur dreams being shattered bc of smth like an accident that was someone else's fault happenin...its a damn shame and i hope maybe someday u will be able to pick up on ballet or ice skating again and i'll be personally looking for the one who did this
On another note, im glad u relaxed again bruh shhchd i also a d o r e cheesecake and its one of my fav desserts, i acc really love the strawberries, blackberries and raspberries ones the most (although lemon ones arent bad either and i once tried an orange one which was g o o d) 😩😩 thank u as always for whising me the za best also, unfoetinately today my volleyball practice was canceled due to cases increasing again and the coach said they'll resume in the following weeks so 🗿🗿🗿🗿
AnYwAYs u lookin our for the bunnies is still the cutest most disney princess thing ever and im all for it👁️ also i def will have to teach u rollerblading fjshhss ppl say its the same as ice skating but i beg to differ....while i can rollerblade like a pro i cant ice skate to save my own ass s o-
#but fr now...u went thru some shit and dare i say it was fate bc u made it thru all of it??#i mean the universe knew u were way too kind and pure hearted so u always made it out no matter what#its a damn shame bruh....i do want to see u succeeding as a ballerina or figure skater one day😤#the confessional

I went roller skating Saturday night for the first time in like 20 years and for some reason i had bought rollerblades like 10 years ago and then never used them so i brought them with me even though i used to use quads when i went roller skating and omg it sucked so bad my shins and ankles were screaming from trying to stand upright on them bc even though they were super tight, i couldn’t keep my legs from wobbling around and I fell a couple of times. So i rented quads, which weren’t much better bc my legs were already tired af from the stupid rollerblades. But also, i was used to having a longer area in the back of the skate to keep me upright so i was on the quads for like 3 minutes and my feet came flying out from under me and I fell backwards. But then after a few times around I started sort of getting used to it bc i got the feel again of pushing off from my hips instead of like my knees or ankles or whatever tf I had been trying to do, but then my legs were still getting so tired that i’d be going along and then try to go back to the wall and end up just standing there bc i couldn’t move. lmao. But i fell 3 or 4 times, including one time where I just grabbed into the wall as I fell and anyway I thought I was going to be super sore the next day and I wasn’t until it was just about exactly 24 hours and omg my muscles between my legs are sore, and my ass muscles are sore, and my right arm is sore from the time that I caught myself on the wall.
The whole roller skating idea came from me deciding that I want to start ice skating and looking up rinks in the area because I knew about 2 of them, but the closest one is a half hour from my house and anyway, the roller skating rink came up in my search and I was like what because I had no idea they were still open and I was just like “omg i’m going roller skating tonight.” So i did.
By the way, i ordered my ice skates and they’re coming in the mail today. tbh i think ice skating with the right skates is easier than roller skating bc it’s mostly smooth. I feel like with roller skates, if you don’t have much speed, the wheels kind of roll back and forth jerkily while you’re trying to keep your forward-backward balance.
Idk, i’m going ice skating this weekend even tho last time was a disaster. the rink only rented out hockey skates, tho, so I think that’s the reason. I’d ice skated before on figure skates and had almost zero problems besides falling like 7 times 🙃
#roller skating#ice skating#me#idc if i’m 36#i’m gonna start ice skating ok?#when i was 12#i wanted to be an olympic figure skater#but my mom told me i was too old if I wanted to compete in the olympics#and i was sad

Come What May - Part 4
Today was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. So why did she feel like she was making the biggest mistake of her life? Roman Reigns/OC/Tama Tonga
Wise Words Won’t Stop the Bleeding
Tama found Ashley exactly where he knew she would be, under the big oak tree overlooking the lake by her family home. This was the tree, she once told him, that she always came to during her childhood to find refuge from whatever difficulty she was facing, or simply come to relax and reflect on life in general.
No prizes for guessing why she was there this time.
The guests had left the church hours ago. After Ashley had abandoned him at the altar, Tama had sat down numbly in the front row of the church, certain that he was in some bizarre Runaway Bride-type movie. But it was real, and it was happening to him. From there he’d just driven around town, figuring out what to do with himself, and without thinking, he’d found himself at her home, found himself drawn to her again, even after what had just transpired. He had known how he would confront her. if he saw her again. At least so he thought. But now that she was near, his mind was blank, with no signs of his much-needed memory returning to him anytime soon. So he did the only thing he could think of.
He sat down beside her on the soft grass. He crossed his legs in front of him, his sharp black tuxedo pants hiking up a bit to reveal the black socks underneath them, and surveyed the picturesque scenery before him; staring but seeing nothing, his vision muddled by his racing mind.
Ashley felt his presence but did not move, terrified to look him in the eye. She had no right to defend herself, not after the way she shamed him in front of his family and friends. The internet smarks would have a field day. Tama would become a laughing stock, and it would be all her fault. She waited silently for the onslaught, the tirade she was certain was coming. God knew she deserved whatever hateful word that he threw at her after what she had done to him, betrayal that he never deserved.
She finally dared to glance up at him. Her heart broke at the distant, passive look in his eyes. “Tee…”
“I know what you want to say, Ashley,” Tama spoke suddenly, startling her. His accented tone was cool, calm and collected. “Don’t.”
Ashley obeyed, keeping her eyes on the grass. It was better that she did shut up. What possible explanation could she have for being so cold, so heartless? She wanted to say she never meant for this to happen, but it would have sounded like a terrible lie.
“I’ve thought about this for a long time, you know,” Tama continued. “And to be honest, I kinda saw this coming.”
Her tear-filled eyes widened. An unpleasant, hollow feeling nestled in her stomach. “What?”
“I knew that you were never really mine, Ashley,” he admitted, his eyes meeting her perplexed features. “At least not in the way I wanted you to be. I’ve known right from the start, really.”
She stared at him, not knowing whether to be relieved or heartbroken about that. “Tama…”
“Please, let me finish,” he interrupted, putting his hand over hers, ignoring her surprised expression at the unexpected gesture. “For a very long time, something in my gut told me that we rushed into this relationship. I’d heard about you and Ro, about how you had something really special together, unbreakable even. I heard how devastated you were when y’all broke up, and when you came to Japan I should have at least given you time to pick yourself up. But I didn’t, and that was a mistake on my part. Your heart wasn’t fully in it just yet, and I wanted it to be, so bad, ‘cause I really liked you. As a result, things were missing between us from the get-go. I was destined to become the rebound guy. You loved me, yes, but you weren’t in love with me. I should have known better than think that I could somehow take his place.”
A pang shot through Ashley at his words. Tama had obviously put a lot of thought into this, to the point that he was practically blaming himself for his own humiliation, and that made her feel even more terrible.
Catching the pained expression in her eyes, he hooked his finger underneath her chin and gently lifted her face up. “Listen to me, cutie. This is not your fault. I got myself into this mess. If I hadn’t been so selfish-”
“But you weren’t,” Ashley insisted, appalled that he would think such a thing. “Not in the slightest. If anything, you were perfect.”
“Yeah,” he acknowledged with a shrug, “but perfection ain’t enough when I’m not the one you really want.”
Guilt-ridden, she bowed her head once again.
“Hey,” Tama whispered. “I’m okay, Ash. I’m not angry, I swear. It hurts a bit, but I can handle it.”
Ashley could only marvel at his impeccable composure. Even when they were friends, she always knew that Tama Tonga was not the arrogant, psychotic savage he played on TV. He was honest, funny, a good listener and an absolute gentleman. Other than his potty-mouth and the occasional issues with his temperament, he was a gem. But he was right, and she could not deny it. There was no way she could have continued to deceive him, or more importantly, herself. He was not Roman. Believing that she could see past that, she had tried to make herself love Tama and in the process lost Roman and ended up breaking Tama’s heart. “I’m so sorry, Tee,” she said meekly.
“I know you are,” he said, still strangely calm. “I also know that I don’t want to lose you completely, Ash. I still want you to be a part of my life.”
“Really?” she asked uncertainly. He nodded, adding with a soft, sad smile, “I do. I care too much about you to let you go. Besides, we were good friends, remember? We can go back to that. Remember how much fun we had the weekend we took that trip to Hong Kong?”
Ashley found herself smiling as she remembered. “Yeah. It was great.”
He grinned. “And remember that time we went rollerblading at that park in Osaka…”
Ashley rolled her eyes, knowing what was coming next. “Oh no…”
“…And you fell right on your ass?” Tama burst into laughter.
She huffed, looking sulky. “In my defense, it was a really sharp turn.”
“Hey, you still fell. And your legs were sticking up in the air and shit! Everyone was staring.” He threw his hands in the air to demonstrate and leaned against the tree, laughing his head off. Refusing to be outdone, Ashley planted her hand on her waist. “My turn, smartass! Remember when you hit on that tranny the time we went to Hooters Tokyo to watch the Super Bowl?”
“I did not hit on her!” Tama argued, his voice faltering a bit. “Or him. Whatever! She made the first move, not me.”
“You kissed her!”
“I had a few drinks in my system…”
“And I still have pictures!” Ashley wiggled her eyebrows slyly.
Tama gasped in horror. “No fuckin’ way! You said you deleted them!”
A devilish grin spread across her beautiful face. “I lied.”
Tama pouted, but soon returned to his dazzling smile. “See what I mean? We can do this. So we’re not getting married. It’s not the end of the world. I still want to be there for you. I want you to come to me if you ever need anything, just like before. I’d really like that, Ash.”
Deeply touched by his selflessness, she lowered her head. “I can’t understand how you could be so forgiving,” she said quietly. “Even though I never meant to, I feel like I used you. I led you on for so long. How many months of your life did you waste on me, time that you’re never gonna get back?”
“It wasn’t a waste to me, cutie,” Tama assured her, taking her hand in his. “I enjoyed every minute we shared together. Sure, the timing kinda sucks,” he laughed a little, gesturing at their wedding outfits, “but better late than never, right?”
Tama leaned back to rest against the tree. He beckoned for Ashley to move closer, and when she did, he wrapped an arm around her. His head rested against hers, and she closed her hand around his wrist that was over her shoulder as they stared out into the lake, watching little fish leap out and back into the water, soaking in the new but comfortable aura surrounding them. Maybe this was always how things were meant to be between them; having a close, impenetrable friendship fated to stand the test of time. The talk they just had was definitely a step in the right direction. Ashley decided then and there that she did want Tama in her life after all. He was precious to her, and just like she did with the people she loved, she was going to look out for him and protect him.
“You really love Roman, don’t you?” Tama asked after a while, his deep, soft voice penetrating her thoughts.
A bashful smile automatically spread across her face. “I do. He means everything to me. I never believed in soul mates until I met him. I can’t even explain what I feel for him, it’s like…unreal. He…he is my soul mate, Tama.”
“You should see your face right now,” Tama whispered, almost awe-stricken as he watched her. “The big smile, eyes all lit up…I’ve never seen you like that, for me or anyone else. And all I needed to do was mention Roman’s name. Now if that’s not love, I don’t know what is.”
Flushing, she bit her lip. “I did love you, Tama,” she told him sincerely. “I still do.”
“I know, cutie,” he smiled, stroking her hair. “It’s okay, Ash. Don’t beat yourself over this, alright?” he continued, as he searched for something in his pocket. “You may not feel that way right now, but you’re a good person. That’s why I fell for you in the first place. And that’s why I want you to be with the man you want.”
He presented his phone to her. “So call him.”
Ashley gasped as she realized what he wanted her to do. “What? Call Rom-…Tee, I…you don’t have to do this.”
But he merely shrugged. “I want to. You should talk to him. Straighten things out once and for all. This time nobody will get in the way. I’ll make sure of that myself,” he added with a knowing wink.
Gratitude overwhelmed her as she beamed at him. “You’re an amazing man, Tama. I pray you find the girl you deserve. She’ll be the luckiest woman on the planet.”
“I will, someday.” He smiled, putting the phone in her hand and closing her fingers around it. “Now call your man.”
Sending him one final, grateful smile, she got off the grass and moved a few feet away, punching in the numbers she knew by heart. It went straight to voicemail.
“Hey, you’ve reached Roman. You know what to do.” The beep went off.
“Roman. Hey,” she stammered, surprised she could hear herself over her loudly hammering heart. “It’s Ashley. I just called to say…I just wanted you to know…The wedding is off, Roman. I didn’t go through with it. I just…” She paused, lifting her head to force back the impending tears. She wanted to say so much more to him. Her heart ached to tell him how she really felt. She had sacrificed so much for him already but she was willing to do more, only if it would get him to come back to her.
“I need you, Ro,” she cracked out, clutching the phone so hard that her knuckles turned white. “It’s you I want to spend the rest of my life with. I can’t do it if it’s not with you, I just can’t. I lost you twice already. I’m not gonna do it again. I mean it.”
She bit her lip shyly. “I…I want to see you, Roman. Please. I want us to talk. Come down to the church. I’ll be waiting outside, and I’m not leaving until you get here. Hope to see you. Bye.”
Hesitantly, hoping she had said everything right, she hung up and went back to Tama, handing him back his phone. “Done?” he asked.
She nodded as she resumed her seat beside him on the soft grass. She threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly. “Thank you T,” she whispered in his ear. “You don’t know how much this means to me.”
“Anything for you sweetheart.” He hugged her back, smiling at the unrestrained joy in her voice. It told Tama that he’d done the right thing. He’d been the bigger man, graciously accepted defeat, and he felt somewhat consoled by this.
Now all he had left to do was pick up the pieces of his broken heart.

Sleepover weekend! I went ice skating today for the first time in nearly 20 years. I gotta say - it is NOT like riding a bike. I was barely inching along and I fell twice. Hubby suggested I get a walker like the kids. I don’t know which was bruised more, my ass or my pride. lol Still a great time. How are your ice skating skills?
Oh gosh falling on your bum on the ice is the woooorst. Good that you had fun still at least! Gotta laugh at those moments. ^^
Hmmmm I’m trying to remember if I’ve ever been ice skating. I think once. And given how well I rollerblade I can’t imagine it went well. XD I also royally hate falling on the ice. It’s so painful. I’ll watch hockey sometimes though haha
Archery is my sport of choice lmao
🌙 It’s Sleepover Weekend! Stop by and chat!🌙
