Ignacio's storyline hits a little too close to home after a recent death in my family. So, I'm choosing to focus on the happier moments, like Wilhelmina being horny all the time and finally showing her gratitude to Mark for covering for her. And I loved the multi-coloured wool dress Amanda wore in the opening scene as well as Mark's suit worn throughout the episode. I would happily wear both.

A Murder at the End of the World 1x06 Crime Seen

Darby uncovers the secret retreat within the retreat. In the past, she and Bill come face to face with the Silver Doe Killer.

Oh, to have Brit Marling blow-dry and brush my hair, then gently hold me. And some strong messages about how society focuses on killers instead of their victims. Which yes, is definitely a major real-world problem. So I hope this means there is some justice in the finale.

Person of Interest (rewatching with mum) 5x11 Synecdoche

Harold goes on a road trip with the Machine, while the rest of the team receive a new number; the president of the United States.

The previous numbers showing up to help Team Machine was a fun callback to previous seasons. There was Mary Lightly from Psych, Mr. Acker, and who I first thought was Aubin Wise. Mia Jordan from TMS was there too fighting back against becoming a surveillance state!

I just finished watching ep 6 of Vigil and WOW. Like you've mentioned, Vigil ticked sooo many boxes of "things I like to watch" for me even without the f/f, so to have all that AND a fantastic romance with superb actresses really feels like a gift! (And I have no idea what to do with these emotions.. Maybe a rewatch without a week between every episode.)

Oh yeah, vigil raised the standards of what we expect from f/f relations even without many intimate scenes and kisses and sex scenes , but with good writing and a wonderful performance.

I knowww, guys, I know! What a surprise, out of nowhere, a British thriller that you'd have watched anyway, with actresses you already like, and then a romance between them? THAT BRIDGES THE WHOLE STORY?

How random, and it sucks that we just have to depend on chance and luck to get more. I mean, last year had a lot, now that we've gone four months into 2022 to compare and it's like, what's next? Hallmark, okay, okay, that's a thing, but, it's like, are we just supposed to celebrate firsts, like the kdrama surge last year too, and then just not get anything more? Where's the next kdrama? Where's the next Vigil? Where's the next Fear Street (okay, that might actually be First Kill)? Happiest Season and those other holiday movies around the same time were from 2020, not last year. I mean, I guess the bangs one and...the Ali Liebert one...but you know, right. We should be getting more than what we had the previous year, not struggle to achieve the same.

At least this surprisingly got renewed?? Again, I have to hope and expect that s2 will star Amy and Kirsten, I don't get who else it could possibly be about. Considering they've said they don't want the same setting but do want to continue with some characters, like, if not Navy, then their cop colleagues? Come on, now. I'm sure they're brainstorming a similarly dramatic premise, like a lighthouse or spaceship or nuclear station or whatever but it better be with these two!

YASSSS INPROMPTU COUNCIL MEETING WITH CHANCELLOR GRIFFIN AND SINCLAIR AND MAJOR BYRNE WHAT A POWER SQUAD

‘Finn and Murphy are out there looking for your daughter with guns you gave us. And now she’s home you’re just going to abandon them?’ HOLY SHIT HELL YEAH PREACH IT BELLAMY look this may sound contrary, but as much as I adore Abby Griffin and would happily die defending her, I love it when she fucks up and acts selfishly because it adds such layers to her character

the conflicts she faces during her short time as Chancellor are so fascinating, as she’s torn between her duties to her people, her ethics as a doctor and her love for her daughter, also her voice when she says ‘I just got you back!’ just wrecks me

she’s such a complicated, human character and I love her so much for it

also shoutout to Byrne and Sinclair quietly talking in the background of this scene, CRACKSHIP AHOY I WILL GO DOWN WITH THIS SHIP etc etc

the whole Mt Weather storyline could have been so boring, but instead it’s this endlessly tense, creepy shit with this growing paranoia and Jasper and Monty stepping up to be such compelling protags, with Harper and Miller upgrading to regular beta characters

I’ve never really shipped Bellamy and Clarke, but I do love their developing relationship at every turn <3

yeah I love Lincoln and all but he has a lot of action scenes in this ep that aren’t super interesting on re-watch

not to be Trash but I always kind of shipped Cage Wallace and Doctor Singh

also Dante and Cage Wallace are such GREAT and complex villains and season two is all the better for showing their inner lives and making them real characters with relationships and doubts and understandable motivations so that you’re with them every step of the way along with the protagonists

What The Fuck Finn is always a Big Mood, but never more so than in this episode

One of the best Dramatic writing of a f/f relationship in a serie or movie and a pretty decent ending #vigil

It was pretty perfect from my POV! I could watch these kinds of series all day, even without f/f and hell, without female leads. I just like the genre.

But we DID get female lead and with this very like...the two working together across land and water and with an existing relationship with the flashbacks and just able to come out of this able to be together, it was written to be so romantic!

Poor kirsten, She just needed to hear Amy say those words "I love you" to change her features from worry and fear to relief that the woman who took her breath from the first moment is not ashamed of their relationship , but just finds it difficult to express her feelings for a woman who has emerged in her life as a light at the end of a dark tunnel. Such a great love story

Yeah, I really like that the balance between the storylines let us see Kirsten's side of things as much as it did. Just as much as we saw her fault in what went wrong as well, as she realized herself too. But the end relationship arc was definitely about Amy being more open and it was indeed what Kirsten was waiting to hear.

Ah, well, given how they were treated this season, I can definitely see why people would want another season, and I kind of do too! It'd be nice to see more of them happy together, and continuing to be the leads.

But aside from the possibility of them being ruined, I'm just not sure how there could be another season of plot. The show is literally named Vigil, there's no way there's going to be another incident and if there is, it's even more unlikely that these two will be involved.

Well, I suppose I could see them being brought in because it worked so well this time, I just don't see the other thing, a submarine incident, civilians brought in, Amy agreeing to go, Kirsten and Poppy letting Amy go, I just don't see it. And it would have to involve a submarine, them just investigating stuff on land that has to do with the Navy wouldn't fulfill the premise the same way.

Although I guess, thinking on it, they could continue on land if were specifically to continue this investigation into Vigil. My friend @wonkots42 was rewatching and noticed that in ep 2, when the thugs break in to Amy's place to steal whatever it is Kirsten found at Burke's (the USB stick), we're meant to think it's the Navy or MI5 because they know she took something from the room, but we later find out it's the Russians. So how'd they know, at that point? Can probably be handwaved away, but if they wanted, they could make it into another mole.

But really, I'd expect them more to continue with the investigation actually in a submarine, so maybe even a different cast with a different sub? Maybe they'll focus on the theme of investigations into random impossible places so it'll be an Antarctic station or space next, lol.
