Finally got around to watching ep 11 (´；ω；｀)
#I'm late...#I'm sorry I wasn't able to watch the episode by time last week but again. Food poisoning. And then the new chapter came out#I feel like I had much more to say when I started watching it last week...#Mmmmhh. I really like when bsd animation uses the colored lineart effect for flashbacks / subspaces (Anne's Room‚ Poe's books).#I think it's one of the prettiest and most original things of the bsd animation.#I've always felt like the Natsume reveal was a bit coming out of nowhere lol.#Here's this legendary ability user everyone knows but no one has ever seen with this immensely unthinkable powerful ability...#That the reader literally wasn't ever made aware of in the previous 49 chapters lol#After all that build up‚ his ability even feels a little underwhelming.#Which I suppose was the intended result‚ but I'm not sure it really works all that well in the end.#Then Naomi's words “Come to think of it‚ the things that happen when Mii-chan vanishes [...]‚ disasters are stopped every time”#really feel soooo out of place when so-called Mii-chan was never before mentioned up to this episode (╥﹏╥)#But I'll stop complaining. It's nothing big really#Fukuzawa and Mori's relationship is very homoerotic. Tbh#I looooove the ss/kk I don't even have much to say just watching scenes of them interacting together fills my heart of a warm feeling :')#The animation quality is very poor and the drawings are very undetailed but really I love ss/kk too much to care.#A lot of emphasis is put by the fandom on Atsushi's cruel remark towards Akutagawa in this ch/ep and it *is* cruel but really...#Akutagawa had literally just attacked Atsushi in a death-threatening way‚ futilely and completely unprompted#I can't find it in myself to blame Atsushi if he was irritated and lashed out at him.#And all their other moments are just so cute. What do you mean Akutagawa is deeply interested in understanding Atsushi's motivations.#What do you mean Atsushi can't get Akutagawa out of his mind!!!! They're so cute#So many more cute moments were cut out too rip lawnmower line you'll always be missed rip date line you'll always be missed#I feel like Pushkin's character is another instance of‚‚‚ Wow me and the author's morals really don't align at all#I really don't like the narrative of “weaker people will constantly try to harm and take advantage of strongest ones”#random rambles#Fun fact when I watched this episode for the first time I asked my mother to join me. Because I know a ss/kk scene was coming and I really–#didn't want to watch it alone. Well as it turned out the whole first half of the episode was dedicated to old man fighting–#and she gave up after that 😂😂 But I'm still grateful to her for trying.

Hii! Now, that's a hard question :') I have so many!! I think if I were to make a top 5, it'd look something like this:
(Limited to English books only because I really wouldn't know how to choose otherwise haha)
The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir (if I had to pick just one, it'd be Harrow the Ninth, book 2 in the series)
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien (which he wanted to have published as one big book, so hey, this isn't technically cheating!)
Carmilla by J. Sheridan Le Fanu
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
The Kingdoms by Natasha Pulley
I tried to vary a bit in genre with this, and honestly my favourite books change quite frequently, but I'd say the top 3 are pretty stable! (I'm not sure anything will ever be able to beat The Locked Tomb for me anymore haha)

the craziest thing about me, a noted tragedy defender, wrote my thesis on antigone, self-described no. 1 crais girl, is that i... never actually finished farscape seasons 3/4 and i never watched the last five episodes of bbc merlin and i never watched the end of bbc robin hood and i've found it impossible to pick up the silmarillion again. not because i don't want to, because i am also most of the time a dogged completionist. but because i would be an inconsolable wreck watching my favorite characters actually irrevocably die. i'm barely psychologically stable enough to think about their canon deaths let alone watch their canon deaths.
#things to talk about my therapist with someday lol?#something to be said about my own research on tragedy. how important it is to the psyche to to sit in tragedy. full range of human emotion.#well i can't do it myself! i live in denial because my coping mechanisms depend on these characters continuing to exist Out There somewhere#somehow the canonical death scene is too much for me to bear to think about#as long as i stopped watching before the death scene they exist continuously. without end. no witness no death#ummmm yeah that's it that's why i'm stuck on crais Not Dying even though i know it's essential to his arc & the overall plot blah blah blah#if I alone keep them alive in my head and heart I can stave off the end. insane rant of a madman over here i know

I have NEVER had a character resonate with me this strongly before
everything about this character echos my own personal life experiences and I don't know how I should feel about it

#fave spotting#juliet harmer#the avengers#adam adamant lives!#georgina jones#the town of no return#1965#abc#classic tv#pictured here with alan macnaughtan#which was unavoidable as they're together in all her scenes and she doesn't get a solo closeup#(i like macnaughtan as an actor too! but a fave spotting is best when i can get the fave pictured alone..)#not the most rewarding of roles tbh; Jill is probably the least developed of the imposters in terms of character and macnaughtan gets most#of the dialogue in their scenes together. she does however get the honour of being the first person Mrs Peel properly fights onscreen#and puts up a relatively good struggle!#oh yeah. spoilers for a nearly 60 yr old tv ep ig but yeah she is an imposter#actually watching this ep again after some years‚ it is a little weakly plotted#most of the issues the villains face could easily have been avoided; why didn't they simply tell Patrick Newell's visiting relative#that his brother had gone away for a week or two? why don't they pause their loud military manoeuvres while the strangers are in town?#idk I'm picking i guess. was also struck on this rewatch by just how dramatic the change in tone and design and production is between#s3 and 4. i mean i know it's obvious but i watched the series in a weird order as a kid and i guess i never reallt picked up on just how#seismic that shift is; not just the jump to film from video‚ but the pure fantasy of scenes like Steed producing a boiling kettle from#his bag on the train journey‚ or the entirely blasé way the duo confront the concept of a total invasion of britain

picard 3x07 thoughts (spoilers)
no offense and like i know it’s star trek *picard* but i literally don’t care about all these old men...like why do we need to bring data back and spend 20 minutes talking to him. he already died!! why do we need this. what is it contributing
#there's nothing at all interesting about it.#s1 and 2 felt like they focused more on the other supporting characters and actually#gave them storylines and character growth#here seven has (1) good scene and then is just standing around the rest of the time doing nothing#while we have to watch jack do more kung fu (why??)#and the old men talk for 20 min#s2 was the inverse of this it had a stupid storyline but it also gave me#amazing seven raffi content so i loved it for that simple reason alone.#this objectively has a more interesting plot but the characters i actually care about#are doing nothing lol#star trek picard#i'm so old now cause i'm like ''i can't believe i stayed up until 11:30 p.m. for this"

What a good episode. Maaaaaan
#I can't even start I'd be here forever#It did take me in fact like one hour total to watch it lmoa. It sooooo good!!! The animation is very good#(albeit it's awfully low on brightness at times. But such seems to be the sin of lot of recent media unfortunately)#but I'm not even going to dwell on that. The plot / storytelling is so good. Sooooo god. I adore this arc.#Love the symbolism. I've been saying this for almost two years now (is it really been that long ever since these episodes came out... ) but#I want to write an analysis on the op & ed so baddd. The emphasis on the twilight this episode!!#Like the sun was setting on the detective agency. I love love love the hd. They're so cool in this episode and they're so cool in general.#I ADORE Jouno. I don't feel particularly strongly for sue/giku yet their scenes are so cute and funny. I see why people ship them.#Even Tetchou I don't usually care much about is so !!!!! I love all the hd so much fr!!!!!!!!!!#I love love love Jouno. Like much like it is for Akutagawa I'm very weak for characters that aren't really good people.#But they're still trying to be a better person than they were. And oftentimes they end up doing a terrible job!!#But the fact alone that they're //trying// has me ougheueueueu. Here in this episode you can see Jouno–#sliping very easily in his cruel / sadistic habits. But he is trying to be a person that cares for others! He made good actions in the past#and he will again in the future even though right now he's acting like this! Because improvement isn't linear! I love him tonsss#And DON'T get me started on the ada. Yosano's “Welcome” scene. I love women. I love women. Yosano please one chance#KENJI'S SCENE God I needed this. How could I forget the way this literllyyyyy rewinded my brain when I read the manga for the first time.#That scene is so deep and poignant and so so meaningful I. Oughhh#I am going to run out of tags am I not#Kyouka saving Atsushi!!!!!!! That scene is one of my all time favourites. It makes me soft to remember when the s4 trailer dropped–#I was so overjoyed for that bit of them holding hands :') Rightfully so!!! It's so cute.#Her coming back to save Atsushi. The “don't worry– I didn't kill them” direct towards Atsushi–#that is so so Akutagawa and it sends me insane hhhhhhgggggggggg#Kunikida!!!!! His “I'm not leaving anyone behind”!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not precisely Kunikida's first fan but aaaaaahhh he makes me feel–#so much for him in this scene!!!!! Mmmhhh one last note would be. It bugs me a little how the ada is defined terrorist by the military–#forces starting this episode? I don't have space to elaborate properly but. An action to be considered terrorism must have clear political–#orientation and goal. Violence alone isn't enought to be defined terrorism. It's an incorrect use of the word#Up to the next episode!!! Feeling more drained than I have in quite a long time so for comfort I watched a few episodes of star trek tos and I had totally forgotten how gay that show seriously is
#I watched eps 4 and 5 I think#of season 3#so that's 'and so the children shall lead' and 'is there in truth no beauty?'#the latter one is among my fave episodes!#but the former one has that quite heated scene in the turbolift#man I love gay people#I'm alone at home because my love is away for vacation#and to fill out the empty space in my life I made tiramisu#way more than what one person can eat alone but I'm taking that as a challenge#I had several rounds of job interviews and also home renovations/repairs in the past few days so yeah#rest is much needed#I've also been studying a lot for the upcoming semester which I'm super proud of but also tired#so tonight I will be reading nothing but fanfic#shrews ramblings#sorry for the rant I'm kinda just talking to myself here and the ~30 ppl that follow me dhskfhkdhfkd#have y'all been okay? #for WAD Dan had the same problem in this venue#idk if it’s just a bit too big?#in the end it didn't feel that empty tho#but yeah it’s still so sad to see only four blocks completely sold out and the rest mostly having more unsold seats than sold ones#hoping it will sell more closer to the show (although it’s already so close like it’s less than two months now 🤯)#I feel like European shows are always a bit tricky#like yes obviously there’s some of us here but we will never be as many as in English speaking countries#I mean Germany for example had its own huge YouTube scene when DnP were at their peak#and everyone knows about the biggest YouTubers from back then even if they didn't actively watch them#meanwhile I don't think any of my irls would know what I'm talking about if I started talking about the Brit Crew let alone D&P lol#at the venue in Berlin there's actually a show by two German YouTubers who were really known back then#& now have a podcast and make comedy content together I think?#and their show is completely sold out!!#like the difference is crazy tbh#(tbf I think their content is A LOT more mainstream than DnPs so that's probs also a factor)
