I love your Teru Claw AU so much! He's such a little bastard boy and you draw him so expressively. I especially like how well you portray his anger in the comic with Shou.
I had a question. Does Reigen know about Mob's friendship with Teru? If so, what does he think of him?
Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you!! ❤️ I am super glad you noticed the different expressions I give Teru haha XD Its really fun to draw!
Regarding the question, the next comic part I'm working on is about that actually! It will explore a bit of Teru's and Reigen's relationship in this AU. However there is a snippet of their relationship in this old art as well:
Tumblr media
In short, Reigen doesn't know Teru is a member of Claw, so he treats him quite friendly. He views his relationship with Mob as just friends. The same can't be said for Teru though, who is extremely suspicious of Reigen for being the master of such a strong psychic.

Any terumob headcanons?? :D
Ahh I’m glad you asked :D Terumob is so special to me,
I have a few but it’s going to be so long haha(also, sorry for the dual use of Mob and Shigeo if it confuses ya)
1. Terumob loves physical touch, cuddles, pats, hugs, hand holding, etc. Teru is touch starved due the to the absence of his parents. Mob has been very closed off ever since he was young. Yes his family does give him affection, but he never seeks it out unless necessary, so he’s kinda deprived in physical affection too. Not to mention, his brother isn’t touchy either. Not his fault, but anyway, Mob enjoys hugging or being close to Teru in any sort of way possible. Shigeo loves the warmth of holding Teru’s hand. It grounds him
2. Teru falls asleep faster and better when Shigeo is close by him. Mob’s aura and his physical presence makes him feel extremely safe and at ease. It gives him so much comfort too. Teru is always alert 24/7 so when Shigeo is nearby, he feels like he doesn’t have to be extremely aware anymore, and that leads him to fall asleep near Shigeo a lot. Shigeo loves it because he knows it lets him know that Teru feels safe enough. Shigeo also uses his aura a little so that Teru doesn’t get any nightmares
3. Mob knows that Teru is very hard on himself, so he always tries to let him know that he’s enough. Teru has never had genuine verbal validation before, no one who knew the real him. So, this leads him to overwork himself usually. Mob sometimes takes it upon himself to be the intervention Teru needs and remind him that he’s okay and he’s needed.
4. Teru also knows that Mob worries about being good. Too much. Teru reminds Mob that sometimes although that they make mistakes, that doesn’t make them a horrible person. This one goes vice versa actually. They remind each other. And remind each other that they’ve changed inspire of their relapsing or mistakes. Even if there are moments where Teru becomes condescending, even if there are moments where Shigeo stutters and hides from his emotions.
5. Teru helps Mob express himself. We generally see him in his black and white uniform which makes people think he only wears black and white which is inaccurate lol. Shigeo is a very colourful person.
Anyway, despite loving colours and clothes, what he wears is all just hoodies and pants which is really plain. Teru has a more extravagant taste. Shigeo loves listening to Teru ramble on about style and fashion and going out of his comfort zone by wearing contrasting colours like pink and green, bright red and bright blue. Purple and orange. Not just in fashion either, but in what Mob wants to do and say. Like maybe figuring out what instrument he wants to play and express himself? Teru loves rock guitars but knows that Shigeo wouldn’t enjoy playing it, so he introduces Shigeo into other forms of music, like percussion, string instruments. Side note I like the idea that Shigeo likes the piano bc of Reigen. But anyways, I think he loves most of the but the one he likes one percent higher than the rest is the flute
I thought way too hard about this but anyway, if you want to ask more specifically you can ^^

20 questions for fic writers
Tagged by nobody! I saw this and felt like doing it to get back in the writing groove of things and maybe procrastinate just a teeny bit ♡
Tagging @babblish @dreamcrow @niemalsetwas @mangatxt @plantpretender and anyone else who would like to!! Also no hard feelings if you don't feel like doing this
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
32 and counting!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
605,281 and counting!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I used to do a LOT of Tales of Arcadia (Cartoons) but a few things happened in the show / movie that made me feel... idk, I'm on a bit of a break for the time being. I also write a couple of Dungeons & Dragons (Roleplaying Game) fics to explore my silly DnD OCs While my current writing obsessions being Discworld - Terry Pratchett and モブサイコ100 | Mob Psycho 100
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Unbecoming 2 Electric Boogaloo (ToA)
Terpsichore - The Comedy of the Danse Macabre - ACT I (ToA)
Cold Green Tea and Colder Feet (mp100)
We'll Meet Again (ToA)
A Study of Avium and Apium (ToA)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do!! I try to respond to all comments!! I can't always promise my response will be prompt, and sometimes I get in my own head and feel...worried? As if my response will somehow sway someone to not want to keep reading? But that's a me thing I'm working through Long answer short: Yes! I do respond to comments!! I adore them and they make me so very very happy!! Honestly a comment can be such a game changer, and a relief to my heart and I just HAVE to express my gratitude for taking the time to tell me such nice words!! I'll always try to respond to them!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hmmm I have yet to finish the fic with the angstiest ending planned. I don't tend to write angst unless there is an ending that has some level of hope and happiness in it - for now.
But yeah, I suppose Unbecoming 2 Electric Boogaloo and The Last Changeling will eventually have some pretty angsty endings.
As well as several fics within the The Collected Tellings of Shigir and Other Changeling Folktales series which can be quite grim.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Another tricky question!! The majority my fics tend to have a happy ending planned despite the highs and lows I hope I manage to put my readers through.
Bit of a cop out answer I know, but it is what it is lol
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I've only had that happen to me once lol. Once so far and for the silliest reason that left me just shaking my head for the most part
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do! Not as often as my other stuff though. Hmm quite a bit of orgasm control I suppose.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
IVE WRITTEN ONE CROSSOVER AND ITS MY FAVORITE AND I HOPE THE STARS ALIGN FOR ME TO FINISH IT!!!
A Funny Old World MY BELOVED!!! It is essentially the Discworld and Mp100 crossover fic no one asked for hahaha
Quite literally "Reigen Arataka 🤝 Moist von Lipwig" the fic
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that...I'm aware of...
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Again not that I'm aware of...and no one has yet to approach me to do so. Though sometimes I think of translating it myself into Italian.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have! It was a great time with @megan0013 on the 23rd chapter of their fic Fallout where we combined the Fallout story with my made up Changeling Folktales.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
I'm too bisexual for this question, I have, like, a fat stack of ships I adore. But of the ones I've written (in no specific order of importance) I really love Adora Belle and Moist, Serizawa and Reigen, Barbara and Strickler, Mort and Ysabell, Polly and Mal, and the list just goes on haha
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I don't think I appreciate the defeatist tone of this question haha. I'm sure I'll finish all of them...eventually. Some go in hibernation a little longer than others, that I won't lie. Hmm though, I'm going to be honest with myself the Terpsichore series seems to be the loftiest of goals at the moment. Who even knows when I'll finally finish it...but, like I said, I'd like to hold out hope that, someday it'll get done lol
16. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told I'm quite good at keeping characters in character, and my writing 'voice' is quite charming sometimes. I've also been told I'm quite good at writing cozy comfort fics. I hope, one day, I'll be able to add horror and suspense to the list of writing strengths.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Making things concise, I think. Sweet short and to the point. I'd love to get better at suspense and horror, just making readers sweat - you know?
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Oh man I have a lot of Thoughts about this actually XPP here's hoping they make sense!!
Depends on the characters, and what language they are speaking and what language the characters know beyond what they are speaking.
I viscerally do not appreciate it when, okay... here's an example: Character A and Character B are both speaking Italian, because the characters are Italian - so even though the fic and author is writing in English we ALL know that Character A and Character B are speaking Italian - so why add in an English dialogue bits of actual Italian?? We all know they are speaking Italian to begin with!! UNLESS, for instance, Character B for a moment spoke in a regional dialect which is different than the standard language.
I tend to call this the "Silenzio Bruno!" situation. Why are you having a character who is supposedly already speaking in a language suddenly say something of that language. It shouldn't be "Silenzio Bruno!" but "Quiet Bruno!" though in some cases I get it...and who knows maybe it'll perk up the interest of people and kids to learn other languages but oof does it rub me the wrong way sometimes
Wait hmmm perhaps thats too confusing
OKAY
EXAMPLE: In Glow Worms I have Serizawa as half Brazilian (there's in fact a huge Brazilian population within Japan! As well as a huge Japanese population within Brazil! Here are two fascinating video essays on the subject if interested [X] [X]).
When Serizawa is speaking with Reigen it is clear and obvious they would speak Japanese amongst themselves and around them, I wouldn't include actual Japanese unless it's a word that I can't really translate well, or is very clearly specific within the Japanese language (the difference between writing 'screen door' and 'shoji door' - both doors, but evoke different specific things). However, when Serizawa speaks with his mother there are often times Portuguese would crop up - an indicator that Serizawa is no longer speaking Japanese in that moment, or phrase or sentence.
The same can be said with Moist von Lipwig, and when he's speaking Morporkian vs Überwaldian. It is agreed that everyone tends to speak Morporkian to some degree as a defect-o Lingua Franca Quirma, and when they're not they're very clearly not!
NOW! In those moments when characters are speaking another language I prefer either it's something that can be figured out via context clues, or a translation is provided either in a footnote or by the character(s) themselves. This is something I feel more confident with if a character is speaking Italian, because then I don't have to worry about translator engines not translating something properly lol But I try to be as respectful and accurate as possible, and if I can't then I wouldn't attempt it and describe in the text that Character A and Character B are speaking another language amongst themselves.
OR (and this is something else I'm doing in Glow Worms) I'll describe a character speaking another language, and another character acts as translator - this is something I always adored in Discworld when characters interact with The Librarian as well as Death of Rats.
Which, again, I try to approach as respectfully as possible. Language is important!! It's a culture and a thought process! And should always be treated with respect
WHEW! I hope this all made sense!!
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Trollhunters!
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
I don't know about Favorite, but there are several that I'm very proud of myself with...
The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Stupid Kid [working title] series, Hand Rolled, The Runaway's Gamble, AU REVOIR, to name a few. Several Trollhunter fics (especially Terpsichore, sometimes I look back on that and go "Wow I really wrote All of THAT?!")
And most recently: Glow Worms or rather: In the Depths of the Safflower Hills a fic that honestly? I find myself going back and rereading what I've written and posted more than once! And has helped me grow as a writer I think
Welp! ___〆(・∀・) That's it for me folks! Thank you so VERY much for your interest, and I look forward to seeing your answers as well!
Best wishes! Nico ♡

Better than when you found it -PART 1-
A Complete Doujinshi by Maruta
Tumblr media
This book was published in 2016, and currently out of print.  PANELS READ RIGHT TO LEFT
Tumblr media
-Flashback-
We’ve got an overnight job?
Yep
It’s an apartment. According to the landlady, no tenant has lasted for more than three days. We’re going to stay there and look into what’s going on with the place.
The tenants talked about seeing an evil spirit, but it could just as well be a curse. The other tenants are spooked as well.
Anyway, this Friday after dinner, all staff will gather at the office and we will head out to the site.
Tumblr media
-The Present-
Reigen stands at the door fiddling with the keys: Eh !?
Tumblr media
Hurry up and open the door!
Master..
Ah, I’ve got our things
Okay, I’ve gotten the door open, Mob, you can go on ahead
Okay
Ugh...
Tumblr media
Reigen: Before we go in, I want to go over a few things we should all be aware of. Our onsite investigation here will last three days and two nights....
Tumblr media
Anything we do, we do in pairs. We have a strong team, and I don’t think we’ll have a problem, but we still have to take the utmost care to avoid being possessed by the evil spirit that resides here.
Also, no one will hog the bathroom....or any other part of the unit,
Alright then!
Let’s go Mob! You’re Up!
Mob: Oh... It’s me again...
Tumblr media
Serizawa: Mr Reigen, should you not be the one to enter first, since you’re our......
Reigen: Okay, Okay....
Mob says as he enters the room: Sorry to disturb.....
Tumblr media
Mob: Wow, this is cleaner than I expected.
Reigen: I think the movers did a thorough job. It’s far cleaner than my place to be honest.
Ekubo: Why are you telling us this? It’s not like we’ve ever been there.
Tumblr media
Reigen: Yeah, It’s a corner unit, It’s got a bathroom separate from the shower, and rents for 200 dollars a month.
Serizawa thinks: This is a really nice unit. It’s a shame it’s a Jiko Bukken only 200 dollars a month....
(In Japan, if something bad happens in a house, such as a death, or a murder there’s a belief the space is tainted by the event. So it becomes really difficult to rent the apartment out. Often the ONLY way to rent it out is to offer it super cheap.)
Ekubo and Mob thinks: There’s something here....
There’s a click as Ekubo opens a closet
Tumblr media
Ekubo: Huh? There’s a folding bed here.
He looks at Mob
Tumblr media
Ekubo: So... Are we all going to fight over the single bed?
Reigen: No, Mob, you take it.
Mob: I’m more comfortable sleeping on a floor futon. Maybe Ekubo or Mr Serizawa can decide? Rock paper scissors?
Tumblr media
Ekubo vs Serizawa, Rock Paper Scissors.
After many MANY rounds, there is no winner so they decide all sleep on the floor. Reigen is setting the alarm clock.
Tumblr media
Mob thinks: It feels like a school trip for some reason, without the part where we talk about crushes. The others are all grown men.
Reigen: Hey we should tell fun stories!
Serizawa: Yeah!
Reigen: You go first Mob! You’re the youngest.
Mob thinks: Eh... what? Why am I always going first?
Tumblr media
Mob thinks: Something fun.....
Mob: When I was little, there was a takoyaki stand at the intersection near my house. Me and my brother often went there together.
We were very small then, but I still remember it clearly.
Tiny Mob: Takoyaki!
Tiny Ritsu:  Ya-ki
Mother: You want some?
Tumblr media
 Mother gives Ritsu some money.
Mother: Here, take this. Don’t lose it. Split it with your brother.
Ritsu: ~kay
Tumblr media
Mother: RITSU WAIT..WAIT
No, not like that! That’s not how you split it!
Tumblr media
Mob: That was the first time Ritsu got yelled at. I think it traumatized him, because he wouldn’t use paper money for a long time.
All the Adults: ITS SO CUTE (Look at these dudes, overcome with the cuteness, haha)
Tumblr media
Ekubo: Haha, never thought Ritsu would have a story like that. I thought he just liked coins so he could flick them at people. He seems the type.
Tumblr media
Mob: Actually, I recently got a wallet for him for bills. He accepted it but looked somewhat horrified.
Ritsu: Th....Thank you brother.  Mob thinks: Please don’t take this the wrong way.
Tumblr media
Ekubo: Okay, it’s my turn! Mine’s also about Ritsu!
Serizawa thinks: Looks like a Ritsu bashing session is starting
-Elsewhere, Ritsu loses it-
Tumblr media
Ekubo: He slipped on the ice outside of that new pharmacy, and was just flailing around for like nine or ten minutes.
Everybody is laughing.
Some time passes and Reigen notices that it’s almost midnight.
Tumblr media
Reigen: Okay everyone, we should call it a day.
He burrows into his pillow and tries to sleep, but the others are still talking....
and talking...... and talking.....
Tumblr media
GO TO SLEEP! -He throws a pillow into everyone’s faces.
This is one of Reigen’s special moves, where he accurately pitches a pillow into the faces of multiple opponents at once, shutting them up simultaneously.
(This doujinshi came out before the OVA, where he tries to start a pillow fight. Impressive that the author called it.)
Tumblr media
Ekubo: WHAT THE HELL!
Reigen: WE HAVE TO GO TO SLEEP NOW
Ekubo: WHY CAN’T YOU JUST TUNE US OUT AND SLEEP YOURSELF!
Reigen: ARE YOU KIDDING? YOU GUYS ARE SO LOUD
Serizawa: Um....Let...Lets please stop fighting.
As Serizawa attempts to break them up, a shadow creeps along the wall behind him.
Tumblr media
Some time passes and everyone is asleep. Reigen is smoking on the balcony. The door opens behind him.
Reigen: So... are you also the type that has trouble falling asleep on an unfamiliar pillow?
Tumblr media
Serizawa: N..No... I’m just feeling a little too excited to sleep.
Mr Reigen, you smoke? -ah no, I don’t want one.-
Reigen: Yeah, I have one now and then. I don’t smoke when Mob is around.
Tumblr media
Serizawa: Um..... I.....
I....I’m really happy about today.
Reigen: eh?
Tumblr media
Serizawa: For a long time, was convinced that a real job would be too much for me. The stress, the pressure, the fatigue. That I’d always have something to complain about. I thought that was what it would be like....
Tumblr media
-Claw out in public-
Serizawa: In many ways, my time at Claw was interesting....but now Kageyama senpai is my friend, and also my superior. Mr. Reigen is the boss. Ekubo is the first friendly spirit I’ve ever met.
But.....
Tumblr media
Serizawa: This is the first time I’ve ever had an outing with people that I could call my friends.  I..... Im so happy, I don’t know how to express that.
(Again, this book came out 2 years before the OVA)
It’s unprofessional, I know. I.... I guess I still have a lot to learn.
Tumblr media
It’s nice isn’t it? Don’t sweat it... you’re one of us.
Tumblr media
Serizawa: TH..THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Reigen: Heh... it’s fine now, though you might want to tone down that excitement if we’re out in public.
-The Next Day-Things start getting serious.
To be continued-
This comic is about 30 pages and will be translated in parts. Check the table of contents for updates.
I love this comic. Team Spirits and Such is four dudes that are lonely in their own different ways, and it’s so great to see them just do stuff together, hang out and just be the friends that they all so desperately need.

Tagged by @caneton...!!! :o
Rules: name 10 favourite characters from 10 different fandoms, then tag 10 people and repost.
tbh if I was allowed to I’d probably list all of these as my OCs bc they’re my tru favs..... BUT. I’ll do my best. B);;;
Tumblr media
1. Shigeo Kageyama (Mob Psycho 100) I always flip-flop between Mob and Reigen as my fav from mp100... I guess I’m going with Mob for now, ahaha. There’s a lot of things I like about Mob, but one thing I’m randomly thinking about now is that I appreciate him for being a character who’s a kindhearted person, but isn’t like... inherently liked in-universe, I guess. Somehow it’s just nice seeing a kind-but-socially-awkward character who isn’t overbearingly moe or cutesy ahaha.
Tumblr media
2. Reina (Rave Master) I LOVED Rave Master back in elementary/middle school, and Reina’s backstory and powers were always really cool to me...!!! Idk I just thought she had a lot of style and class (??) but also a unique way of fighting.
Tumblr media
 3. Mikoto Mikoshiba (Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun) Mikorin’s a really fun character!!! ToT But yeah, I like the idea of a character with ridiculous self-confidence + constant self-doubt because honestly it’s extremely... understandable... relatable, dare I say.........................
Tumblr media
4. Makoto Tsukimoto/Smile (Ping Pong: The Animation) I recommend PPTA to everyone who hasn’t watched it, it’s so good!!! ToT Idk what I specifically like about Smile, he’s just a neat character... tho honestly Peco and Smile’s dynamic is one of my fav things about PPTA, not just Smile by himself. :0
Tumblr media
5. Hikaru Kusakabe (Doukyuusei) I just think he’s cool...!!!;; I’m super not a free-spirit but I like free-spirited and carefree characters... in a way he’s more or less one of my inspirations for how I think about Gabe’s personality I guess, ahaha.
Tumblr media
6. Roy (Fire Emblem/SSB) I’ve never actually played the FE game that Roy is in, but Roy is one of my favorite characters ever.....!!!! Even though I don’t know what kind of personality he’s actually supposed to have, ahaha;; BUT YEAH I used to do a SSB webcomic with Marth and Roy back in middle school, it was one of the things that got me into drawing and even making characters. ;u;7
Tumblr media
7. Barnaby Brooks Jr (Tiger and Bunny) I haven’t watched TnB in SO LONG but I’m p sure I still like it... I also always flip flop between who’s my fav between Barnaby and Kotetsu. :Y Something random is that I like how Barnaby is somewhat two-faced (like in front of cameras vs in private), but it’s... to a reasonable degree.... idk why I’m even thinking about this rn, but I was just remembering this one oneshot I read back in the day with this teacher who was “I LOVE MY STUDENTS! ♥” on the outside but “I HATE KIDS” on the inside which seemed like a bit much. Not that it doesn’t happen, but....??? Idk. Kinda tangential, but w/e. Idk if I’m even remembering any of this right.
Tumblr media
8. Tamaki Suoh (Ouran High School Host Club) The OHSHC manga is still one of my favorite mangas. :u It was the first manga that actually made me laugh while I was reading it, and I just thought all the jokes flowed really well into one another, ahah;; Anyway Tamaki’s my fav because I like hammy goofballs.
Tumblr media
9. Sakura Kinomoto (Cardcaptor Sakura) Idk I’m kinda just putting Sakura here because I used to love the CCS manga so much as a kid, ahaha. One of my fav things about CCS is that Sakura would change her magical girl outfit every time she’d find a card. What a fashion star.
Tumblr media
10. Lafayette (Original Character) haha....... it’s Lafayette..................... SORRY I COULDN’T THINK OF ANOTHER CHARACTER!!!! Also I’m just gonna own up that I love Lafayette if that wasn’t already extremely obvious by how much I draw him. Idk he’s just been really easy for me to draw lately....! I guess a random thing I like about him is that I’ve always had this habit of drawing him snarling or grimacing, but I also tend to draw him in fashionable (?) stuff.. idk nice-clothes-but-nasty-expression is kind of a fun thing for me to play with. In some ways I don’t think looking “beautiful” is really an ideal that Lafayette has (which I guess shows thru his expressions/gestures/personality), but I do get the feeling that he wants to look stunning/eyecatching/worthy-of-attention in someway (which I guess shows through his fashion). ??? idk where I was going w/ this but there’s that.
ANYWAY... THIS IS LONG... AND I’M TIRED.............. I might tag people in the morning, but not now. orz SORRY;;;

If You Let A Cat Into Your Apartment
Fandom: Mob Pycho 100
Summary: Reigen and Milk hanging out after hours @ Reigen's place. Basically just a dude chillin' w/ his pupil's cat.
Rating: Gen. Audiences.
Read on AO3: x
----
Reigen stretched his neck from side to side, looking up from his computer screen for what felt like the first time in an hour. The scorching burn of the bright screen still shadowed a dark film over his vision, and he had to blink a few times before he could pull the dim office into proper focus. He usually turned the lights off in the morning and evening hours to save on electricity when no one was around but him. Well, no one but him and Milk; who didn’t seem to give a particular damn whether the room’s lights were on or off so long as she could catch a few rays of sunlight streaming in from the window at the far side of the office.
Slumping back in his chair, Reigen pushed up his sleeve and checked the time on his wristwatch. Tugging the slightly-worn sleeve back over the clockface, Reigen stretched in his seat; the muscles around his neck and between his shoulder blades tightened uncomfortably, and he found himself wishing he could give himself a massage. He smiled to himself, remembering the time Mob had tried to give him a massage; it hadn’t been what Reigen would term a Special Move’ but, at that moment, he would take just about take anything to relieve the tension spreading across his shoulders.
Heaving a tired sigh, Reigen rubbed at his still sore eyes and stood up. Stretching again, he reached forward and began putting his laptop away in his bag and gathering up his other few belongings he liked to take home with him instead of leaving them in the office overnight.
“Well, Milk, whaddya say? Ready to head on home?” Reigen lifted one eyebrow over to the little cat, who was laying on her back in the office window with her striped paws kicking contently into the air.
She’d been staring out the window, watching the pigeons flutter by and soaking in the last dwindling minutes of sun before the sky gave way to nighttime; but when Milk heard Reigen’s voice, she turned her head and watched him instead.
“Heh, think you forgot something, Milk,” Reigen laughed a little.
Milk had at some point neglected to retract her tongue completely into her mouth, and was now staring at him with a little pink blep poking out just beneath her smudgy nose. Her tongue only stayed like that for a second longer though; as she leaned her head back and gave a big yawn, stretching her legs out and up towards the ceiling.
“I second that,” Reigen said, stifling a yawn of his own and walking over towards the window with his bag slung over one shoulder. “Let’s get out of here, huh?”
Milk meowed in agreement, rolling over so she stood on her paws and slowly blinking up at Reigen.
“Alright then, let’s go,” Reigen spun towards the door, making it a few steps before noticing that the now-familiar putter of Milk’s paws behind him wasn’t there. Turning back around, he saw Milk was still standing on the windowsill; blinking at him as if nothing were out of the ordinary.
“Oi, what’s the idea, cat?” Reigen asked as he stalked back over to the windowsill, standing with his hands on his hips as he looked down at Milk.
Milk simply meowed again, this time more insistent, and stood up on her hind legs to brace her front paws against Reigen’s chest. Lowering herself back down onto all four paws, Milk butted her head gently against Reigen’s stomach and started rubbing herself against his shirt.
“Ah, I get it,” Reigen rolled his eyes, crouching down so he could talk to Milk face-to-face. “You want me to carry you home, is that right?”
Instead of giving an audible reply, Milk stepped forward a little and booped her nose against Reigen’s. Her whiskers tickled against his cheeks, and Reigen had to fight away the smile growing on his face and pull an irritated expression.
“You’re more trouble than you’re worth, I hope you know,” Reigen said, standing back up to his full height and whipping his phone out to send Mob a quick update text on Milk.
Your cat is harassing me to carry her home!! he wrote, leaving his phone on the message log. He knew Mob would be quick to reply. He always was when Milk was the topic of conversation.
Sure enough, a few minutes later, Reigen’s phone buzzed and a new message from his pupil popped up on the screen.
Haha. She’s tired, Shishou. Please, carry her for me?
Smiling now, Reigen leaned over and snapped a picture of Milk; he sent the photo to Mob, captioned with ‘ The face of a menace. ’ then stuffed his phone back in his pocket and turned his attention to Milk.
“Alright, cat, you win,” Reigen said, reaching over and picking Milk up into his arms. The cat snuggled into the crook of his elbow easily, as she ended up getting carried home by Reigen more often than the self-proclaimed psychic would ever admit to another human being. Reigen scratched behind Milk’s ears idly as he made his way towards the door, and Milk began to purr contentedly against his chest. Pausing momentarily to lock the office, Reigen picked up his patting where he’d left off and carried Milk down and out of the building and onto the darkening city streets. ...
By the time Reigen made it into an empty seat on the train, Milk was fast asleep in his arms and Reigen couldn’t stifle his intense jealousy at the fact that the cat got to sleep her way through the commute from the office and he had to stay awake. Or at least, he had to attempt to stay awake. A few minutes into the ride home, Reigen could feel himself beginning to nod off; he stayed up too late all the time and had to wake up early to get to the office and, even though he made it look like a natural extension of his personality, sometimes being the emphatic face of Spirits N’ Such really took a toll on his mental stamina.
Just as he was dancing the line between conscious and comatose, he felt the small press of a tiny fingertip gently prodding his knee. Blinking his eyes open, Reigen could see a little girl looking sheepishly up at him.
“Excuse me, mister,” she said. She couldn’t have been more than six years old, with her hair in pigtails and brightly colored clips holding her bangs back.
“Eh? What’s wrong, kid? Are you lost?” Reigen asked, eyeing the grown woman’s cardigan that was buttoned-up over the floral pattern of the little girl’s dress.
The little girl shook her head, pointing over her shoulder to where a woman sat in the seat opposite Reigen’s. She was asleep, slumped over in her seat with her purse in her lap. Reigen almost called across to scold her for sleeping while she had her kid with her, but decided against it when he saw the dark circles under the woman’s eyes. Sighing, Reigen looked back to the little girl and lifted his eyebrows. “What did you want then?”
“I, um…” she looked down to her shoes, pulling the sleeves of her mom’s sweater over her small hands. “Could I pet your cat, please?”
Reigen blinked in surprise, but his expression quickly smoothed out into an easy smile. Of course the kid had approached him to pet Milk. “Sure, go ahead. Mind you, be gentle with her though. She’s not actually my cat.”
“She’s not?” the little girl asked, running her hand gently from the top of Milk’s head to all the way down her back.
“No, she belongs to my student,” Reigen said. “His little brother is allergic to cats, so I agreed to let Milk here live with me.”
“Milk?” the little girl raised her eyebrows. “Is that her name?”
“Huh?” Reigen blinked, still groggy. “Ah! Oh yeah. Yep. Milk. That’s her name, don’t wear it out.”
“Milk,” the girl repeated, giggling a little. “Because cats like milk?”
“Yes,” Reigen nodded. He thought of mentioning that milk was actually bad for cats, but didn’t feel like explaining the intricacies of a cat’s digestive system to a little kid on the train so he just left it. “My student too. He likes milk and he likes cats. And he loves his cat, Milk.”
“I love her too,” the girl smiled, scratching Milk behind the ears. Milk was still half-asleep, but her purring increased as the little girl continued to pet her.
“It seems the feeling is mutual,” Reigen smiled, the train screeching to a halt as he spoke. “Although, she’s incredibly easy to win over. Anyone who gives Milk a nice scratch behind the ears is her friend for life.”
“Sweetie,” a woman’s voice spoke, and Reigen looked up to see the woman from across the way had woken up and was smiling down at her daughter. “It’s time to get off. Say goodbye to your new friends, okay?”
“Okay,” the little girl said, a touch despondent as she patted Milk one final time. Walking towards the doors with her mother’s hand around hers, the little girl waved with her free hand. “Bye Milk! Bye mister! See you again!”
Reigen waved with his own hand and then, reaching down, picked up one of Milk’s paws and waved it gently at the girl through the train windows. The girl kept waving as the train sped away; and Reigen settled back into his seat, a smile on his face for the rest of the way home. … At long last, Reigen pushed open the door to his apartment and set Milk down. Stretching quickly as she roused from her slumber, Milk immediately made a beeline for the small kitchen area where her food bowl was and meowed impatiently for Reigen to follow suit.
Reigen leaned back against the closed apartment door for a second, letting his eyes fall shut and taking a deep breath; the tension was still there in his shoulder and neck, and now his lower back was starting to ache as well. But, fighting every urge to slump to the floor and fall asleep right then, Reigen pushed off the door and headed over to the kitchen to feed Milk.
While Milk ate her cat food in a blissful and uncharacteristic moment of quiet, Reigen perused the contents of his fridge. He’d thought of getting something on the way home, but everything he could afford right then seemed aggressively unappetizing and he’d really just wanted to get home as quick as possible. Now, staring at the barren shelves of his refrigerator, Reigen was thankful he’d at least stopped for ramen with Mob earlier in the afternoon. Giving a shrug, Reigen shut the door and walked away from the kitchen area. Some nights he just didn’t eat, and that was normal for him.
Shucking off his jacket, Reigen changed out of his suit and into some sweats and a T-shirt for a marathon he’d run when he was twenty-three. The shirt almost seemed comical to him as he rooted around his suit jacket for his cigarettes; there was no way he’d be physically fit enough to run that marathon now. Picking up his lighter off the table, Reigen went to the bathroom and shut the door.
Sitting down on the edge of the tub, Reigen tapped a cigarette lose from the box and stuck it in his mouth. With a few flicks of the near-useless lighter, he finally caught a flame and lit the tip of his cigarette quickly. Before Milk had come to stay with him, Reigen had smoked wherever he damn well pleased in his own apartment; but he didn’t want to make Mob’s cat sick with him constantly blowing smoke in her face, so he’d taken to smoking in the bathroom like he was still a preteen living at home hiding from his mother that he smoked.
Before he could even take a decent drag though, a meow sounded from somewhere within the apartment. Reigen didn’t say anything, just rolled his eyes and blew out a cloud of smoke; this happened almost every night where he would go into the bathroom to smoke and Milk would spend at least ten minutes searching every nook and cranny of his miniscule apartment for where he could have possibly gone. Another meow sounded, a little closer to the door, and Reigen just shook his head and rubbed the heels of his palms into his eye sockets. He waited in complete silence, waiting for the pawing at the door to begin.
It didn’t take long after that second meow. Soon, Milk was meowing more and more insistently from out in the hallway; begging to be let in.
“Milk, please,” Reigen called as he heard the sound of little cat paws batting at the door knob. “I’m having some me time. Can you respect my boundaries just this once?”
Then, as if in direct response to his question, one of Milk’s little striped paws slipped under the door and patted around the tile floor as if preparing to drag Reigen out by his toes. Rolling his eyes again, Reigen put his cigarette out and stood up. Taking his phone out, he snapped another pic for Mob; this time of Milk’s paw groping fervently under the bathroom door. Sending the picture to Mob, Reigen slipped his phone into the pocket of his sweatpants and walked to the door.
“Alright, alright, I was done anyways,” Reigen sighed, throwing the door open and looking down at Milk as she instantly started rubbing her cheek against the doorframe. “And just what did you want?”
Milk meowed, walking forward and rubbing up against Reigen’s legs. Reigen could feel the cat’s purring radiating in his ankles and sighed again.
“Okay,” Reigen said, huffing a tired laugh. “I apologize, Milk. How dare I not pay attention to you for five minutes.”
Milke meowed in agreement, following Reigen out to the main room. Reigen sat at the table and pulled his laptop from his bag, pausing to let Milk get situated on his lap before starting his computer up.
He browsed the internet for a few hours, making his already raw eyes feel dry as a static desert. Reigen had been ready for bed upon walking in the door to his apartment, but he never seemed able to go to bed earlier than midnight; so, he usually stayed up until some godawful antemeridian hour for no other reason than to stay awake.
Eventually though, he always reached the point where he couldn’t put off sleeping any longer. So, he picked up Milk and put her in the cat bed Serizawa had bought for her; and then tumbled into his own small bed, hardly bothering to pull the covers up around himself.
Reigen lay flopped on his stomach, face buried in the pillows as he let out an exhausted groan. His muscles still ached, shifting painfully as they settled into a laying position. The tension in his shoulders hadn’t eased whatsoever, and was making it difficult for Reigen to get comfortable enough to fall asleep. Pressing his cheek against the pillow his arms were curled under, Reigen sighed and stared at the lit up clock on his microwave, wondering what the final time would be when he finally managed to fall asleep.
He was just about to get up and fiddle with his computer for a while more, when the slight jangling of Milk’s bell collar jerked him to attention. Before he could get up to see what Milk was getting into now, Reigen felt a sudden light pressure land on the middle of his back. Craning his neck around, Reigen could just make out the white parts of Milk’s fur as she sat perched on his back.
“Milk, for the last time, this is MY bed. Not yours,” Reigen groaned, but made no move to remove Milk from where she sat. He knew that as soon as he fell asleep she would be right back up there, and he’d wake up with a mouthful of striped fur to greet him. Settling his head back down, Reigen just sighed in defeat and closed his eyes. “Fine, guess you can sleep there. Not like I’m worried about my back getting w-”
Cutting off mid sentence, Reigen became acutely aware of a repeated pushing between his shoulder blades. Milk, poised atop Reigen’s lower back, had begun to knead his shoulders right at the most tense knot of nerves.
“Milk, you…” Reigen looked up to the little cat as she massaged his back. The tension in his shoulders slowly began to release; and by the time Milk was moving to curl up at the base of Reigen’s neck, his muscles were feeling more relaxed than they had in weeks.
Laying draped across his shoulders, Milk began to purr deeply into Reigen’s neck. The vibrations resonated through Reigen’s entire chest, lulling his nerves into a relaxation so sublime it almost felt hypnotic to Reigen.
“Thanks Milk,” Reigen sighed into the pillow, letting his eyes fall shut and smiling as he felt himself drifting off to sleep.

Some post-Mogami headcanons for Mob, because canon obviously isn’t going to address this stuff so I thought I might try my hand at it…it got kinda long though, oops;;;;
- Above all, Mob hates being completely alone anymore.
He tries to express how much he appreciates his loved ones, whether it’s struggling to do so verbally or through small actions like doing extra chores around the house, showing up to Spirits and Such office a bit earlier, or hugging Ritsu more often.
He starts having occasional sleepovers at Teru’s apartment, because he now knows what it’s like to live alone and he’s worried about how Teru handles it.
o    Teru is used to living alone though and really doesn’t mind…it is nice having someone over though, so it’s not like he’s complaining.
o   He does worry about the sheer amount of nightmares Mob seems to have, however…thankfully he’s an esper, and knows how to keep floating household objects from breaking/hurting people while Mob’s asleep.
o   Teru is also the only one completely uninvolved with the Mogami incident, so Mob finds him the easiest to talk to if he ever works up the nerve to do so; this is rare though.
The first night back from The Incident (and several nights after), Mob asks to spend the night in Ritsu’s room.
o   This takes Ritsu by surprise (they haven’t shared a room since they were really little) but Mob is clearly upset so he doesn’t question it.
- Getting called on in class used to just make Mob nervous. Now it sometimes causes him to outright panic or completely freeze up.
Classmates still snicker at him when this happens, which only puts him more on edge, waiting for the teasing to escalate. It never does.
- Mob doesn’t try to feed stray cats anymore. He still takes pictures from time to time, but he’s still a bit nervous about directly interacting with them.
- Mob throws himself even more into his workouts with the Body Improvement Club. They admire their littlest club member’s determination, even if Mob is mainly doing it to better take his mind off things.
- Absolute silence really bothers Mob now.
Mob finds his parents’ snores across the hallway and Ritsu’s sleepy mumbling from next door (Ritsu absolutely talks in his sleep lol) to be more calming than usual.
o   Even his mother calling for him to hurry up in the mornings is more of a relief than anything.
Teru lent Mob an old MP3 player he never uses anymore (which he made sure to fill with relaxing instrumental music before handing it over) and Mob uses it pretty often now.
Dimple will start humming some stupid tune or other he heard somewhere, seemingly at random at first, when really it’s mainly when he notices the silence is getting too suffocating for Mob.
According to his biography, Reigen likes to listen to classical music in the office. He tries to do this more often upon noticing how much silence unsettles Mob these days.
o   Between this and the relaxing familiarity of his Shishou typing away on the keyboard (and the occasional low muttering to himself), Mob ends up falling asleep on the office couch alarmingly often.
o   Reigen just throws a blanket over him and continues on about his day. He sees the dark shadows under Mob’s eyes these days and feels it’s just better to let the kid sleep for a while.
Sometimes music doesn’t work and Mob calls Reigen in the middle of the night (something he hasn’t done in years) just to hear a familiar human voice and remind himself that he’s not Back There.
o   Mob feels really bad about doing this, but Reigen always insists he was already awake (he was not, but he always leaves his ringtone on just in case) and that Mob is a more than welcome distraction from some boring case or other. Making himself the “one in need” tends to reassure Mob significantly.
o   “You’re up so late Shishou…” “Haha yeah,” *stifling a yawn* “so what’s up?”
o   Mob never talks about his dreams or what actually upset him, but they end up on the phone for an hour or two anyway, with mostly Reigen rambling about whatever he can think about and Mob listening, sometimes offering short, somewhat unsteady responses.
o   Reigen only hangs up when he hears the phone drop on the other end followed by quiet snoring. However usually, Mob is the one who hangs up, but not before Reigen hears a soft “Thank you, Shishou,” and the line going dead. Either way, he’s smiling with a sad fondness.
- Just…whenever directly asked, Mob will always insist he’s completely fine. That doesn’t stop the people who care about him from noticing that something is most certainly not fine, and doing whatever they can to help. They don’t push the issue though, knowing he’s just more likely talk about it when he’s ready.

Mob Psycho II Special Event - part 2
I’m going to summarise in point form before I forget them further, and get back to them later.
Special guest, the director Yuzuru Tachikawa was called to the stage.
Afternoon session:
Best 5 most comedic scene
5th) Ero-kubo? Episode 3, was it? The cast was discussing about it but tbh, I didn’t understand.
4th) Not elaborated on and I forgot
3rd) Not elaborated on and I forgot
2nd) Ritsu’s inner monologue when Tsubomi and her friend visited Spirits & Such for love consultation. The disgust on his face when he hissed (in his mind) “Yokei na koto itterun jyanai, Reigen!” was so...good.
After they showed the scene (only the top 2 got the scene shown. The rest were just presented), Irino started elaborating that Ritsu thinks about Mob a lot, to protect him and care for him, etc
1st) Reigen’s ‘Self-Defense Rush’. Enuff said.
This ‘Best 5′ was hardest to remember. Seriously, there were so many funny moments in MP100; too many to count. And they didn’t really go thru in details.
Best 5 most action-packed scene
5th) Mob (possessed by Ekubo) vs Shibata
4th) Mob vs Boss
3rd)  Mob (possessed by Ekubo) vs Minori (possessed by Mogami)
The cast were showing some shock that Mob vs Boss was only 4th in the ranking, and Ekubo joked that he was doing all the hard work for 3rd and 5th. During possessions, Otsuka was saying he wanted to imitate Mob’s gentle and calm tone, but the Director said it didn’t work and that it was best to keep to Ekubo’s character.
2nd) Mob vs Mogami
After the scene was shown on screen, the cast were all in awe and saying that the animation was simply ‘sugoi’ (as per Irino) and it’s cinema/big-picture level quality.
The cast were also saying that Mob fights a lot.
1st) Teruki, Ritsu, former members of Claw vs Shimazaki. Need I say more? The way the camera changed angles, the action-packed sequence, Teruki’s chilling face shot (that’s why in Part 1 I said I wished he was there so he could comment on it!)
Special mention on 8th rank, Mob vs Serizawa because they wanted Hoshino to be able to comment on it. Hoshino was saying that there were moments in the fight where he was just more concerned about causing Mob pain. It was not as intense as other fights because the purpose was different, and friendship bud from there (I might be making this up because seriously, didn’t understand some of the Japanese).
Evening session:
Best 5 Weird Face 変顔
5th) Ekubo’s paper thin face that was picked up by Reigen, I think. Otsuka was saying Ekubo’s face is weird in the first place, and others chipped in that this was particularly weirder. Someone (forgot who) mentioned that Ekubo made a creepy tissue paper.
4th) Mob’s face when he was knocked down by Dash Baba in episode 2, I think? Can’t remember.
3rd) Ritsu’s serious and dark face (forgot which episode?). Irino started speaking a lot about Nii-san again and he joked that 80% of his dialogue was Nii-san. The host remarked that it was Irino’s skill that brought many different tones and feelings to the same ‘Nii-san’ word.
2nd) Reigen’s face when he received the ‘present’ attachment email from his mom, being an advertisement about job vacancies.
(Personal opinion: looking back, it was a very well executed scene. The camera angles focus on everything else other than Reigen’s face - the mouse, the computer screen, the back of the computer, etc - until the attachment was opened, and BAM, Reigen’s speechless face. On a white background. Pencil sketched.)
The Director was saying the animator might have been drawing using left hand. But the Director kept changing his story haha. First he said the animator/drawer was very good. Then someone said, was the picture lifted from manga? Then the drawer was ONE-sensei?
1st) Reigen’s face when he accidentally crossed path with Mob & friends (Tome and... the chestnut haired guy with short thick brows) after the fall out in episode 8. Again with the perfect timing and blank expression.
Someone asked, did the drawer use crayon? The Director said, no they used left hand haha. At first, Sakurai said, this is a realistic expression. If something shocking happens to you in real life, you’d probably have this expression too. But then after that he said, no, it’s like the face of a cat who’s taking a crap. And then the cast keep bringing up this joke haha...
Best 5 Moving scene (YESSH I knew since the afternoon session they will bring this up)
5th) I forgot...
4th) Ritsu’s “I want to protect the right to enjoy my life to the fullest!” in episode 11. Irino had remembered this since the afternoon session but could not remember the exact line and nobody else could either. The host had to prompt him for the lines and then Irino was really attached to the “and then BAM! Collision with a truck!” and the cast kept mentioning it over and over. Irino joked that although the scene was supposed to be moving, after this day the audience will all remember it as a joke instead.
3rd) Reigen’s “Seichou shita na, omae” in the teleconference
Everyone was commenting that it’s a good expression on Reigen (unlike the ‘cat taking a crap thing they were harping on under ‘Best 5 weird faces’)
The Director said that Reigen’s facial expression was actually not lifted from manga. After discussion with ONE-sensei, they decided the anime version was better able to convey what ONE-sensei wanted. In the dialogue, actually there is a sense of loneliness from Reigen, that he was being left behind.
2nd) Mob picking up Emi’s writing which was torn up by her friends. “I’ve decided to treat my feelings preciously,” Mob said and teared up. Emi then proceeded to help him pick up the pieces too. When the wind blew them away, Mob used his powers to put the pieces together, the scene ending with “I’m a psychic.”
Secchan admitted to being nervous it wouldn’t turn up well, and was pressured because it’s the first episode of S2.
1st) Do I even need to say? Of course it’s when Reigen and Mob met at the bridge after the teleconference!
Reigen: “Why are you here?”
Mob: “Nanto naku”
Reigen: “Do you know... my true self? From the mass media...”
Mob: “I’ve known from the start.”
“My master is... a good man.”
The cast had a lot of comments on this. Sakurai was saying it was difficult. He and Secchan did the recording when the visuals weren’t ready so they were just trying their best to convey the emotions, and when it all came together, they were all awed. The timing with Sajou no Hana’s song, Grey, was spot on.
The Director also mentioned he debated with himself about ending the episode after “...a good man.” But it gave too much of a sense of finality and he wanted to show that life still moved on. So the dialogue on “getting ramen” was added.
TBC to Part 3
