a really underrated part of baldur's gate 3 is the gather your allies quest tbh. it's such a simple concept and you definitely don't need to even do any of it to beat the final boss but it's such a nice way of tying back to so many sidequests in ways you wouldn't even expect to happen. like. you can get auntie ethel on your side. you can get valeria. you can get rolan. you can get yurgir. you can get your own pet owlbear. you can get the strange fucking ox

#some of the buffs are Really Good too. wyll's dad gives +30 temp hp??? kith'rak gives you a dragon????#siding with bhaal in a durge run lets you STUN ON COMMAND?????#it's so very very fun. i just love it a lot. at least 80% of my entire time spent playing act 3 was just collecting buddies #baldur's gate 3 #baldur's gate 3 spoilers #shame you only get the payoff right before the end but it's a fitting avengers assemble moment #if anything i just wish there were MORE allies included in it.#i was really hoping the fish cultists reguel recruited all the way back in act 1 would come in with a steel chair #yin-thoughts
