Ok so I finally watched the MLP movie and I ABSOLUTELY love Tempest, her song is amazing . If i was in her hooves I would also hate everyone and fall in love with Twilight at the sight of her helping me after singing the most kick ass song. Other notes, the pacing was off, I felt like they made friends much to fast buy it is a kids movie so I'm not to upset. Sia was unnecessary, Fluttershy didn't do anything which sucks cuz she's dating discord, why didn't she call up her man? Speaking of Discord and chysise (babygorl) Both are much better villains and do the work themselves! The storm king made Tempest do the work. If he had given her back her horn he would have won. Also like is slavery common outside of equestria?? Because that would imply a whole bunch of ponyland ethics? Like it's been touched on before but like it didn't really hit me how like bad it was. When did Celestia out law slavery?? So many questions unanswered.

Update: I have found an entire series of lovingly animated videos of the MLP characters acting out The Count of Monte Cristo the Musical, and I am having a THE BEST time!!

I've never even watched My Little Pony! But I couldn't be more pleased to have this as an introduction to the musical! This is so fun!!! Much better than just listening to the soundtrack!

So... I guess what it makes me feel as a fan of the book is Delight that there are so many interesting and fresh adaptations still out there for me!

(Besides, him being played by Rainbow Dash is technically one of the only times an adaptation doesn't whitewash him! He's supposed to be black! And yet there are no adaptations where he is black!! So like. It's not as though searching online for images of Edmond actually yields accurate results, outside of some of the illustrations made when the author was still alive! At least Rainbow Dash isn't another white guy!)

As a book reader I gotta ask my fellow bookworms this.

those mlp infection aus on tiktok have been alright but heres my idea to consider:

the main characters of the au are the cmc. theyre not the lone survivors, and heres why: the infection almost entirely affects adults. this is just like a book i read in 5th grade, thats where im stealing this from.

Applebloom is the self appointed leader, shes best at foraging for food and growing it as well as building re-enforcements for the shelter (which is the clubhouse. it's higher up so they dont have to worry about most infected ponies reaching them.)

Scootaloo is the defender of the base as well as the group in general. shes the one who handles the weapons and is first to sacrifice herself for her friends to get to safety. She says its because he doesnt want to hold them back due to her disability, they tell her she doesnt have to think like that. but its hard not to.

Sweetie Belle is... not all there. sometimes she forgets the apocalypse has happened and that most of her loved ones are dead. Scootaloo and Applebloom take turns sleeping during the night to make sure someone is always lookout. that, and they can't risk Sweetie Belle unknowingly walking into the dark trying to get home.

Partially inspired by one of the best animes ive ever seen: School Live, Scootaloo and Applebloom sometimes, when Sweetie is having an episode, pretend everything is normal. Is the most they can do for their friend, who is clearly so traumatized that her brain blocks out the reality of their situation. Sometimes, Applebloom wishes that could happen to her.

When the infection started, it slowly took over the elderly first. Granny Smith got sick, fast. Big Mac and Applejack took care of her, but only a few days later she would turn into some kid of monstrous creature. Big Mac did the unspeakable act of putting her out of her misery.

Sweetie Bell was sent to go live with Rarity while her mother was sick. Her father began to feel ill too, and didn't want her to get herself and her friends at school sick as well. She could hear over the phone the conversations her sister and father had. How mom was getting worse, how dad was getting worse. How they stopped calling altogether.

A couple days into the widespread sickness, Scootaloo's aunts took a trip to the store to stock up on groceries just incase a quarantine was issued. They were gone for hours. They were gone for days. They never came back. Eventually, Scootaloo traveled outside of her home by herself, and could never return.

Once Big Mac and Applejack started showing signs of illness, Applejack spoke to cousins in other places wondering if they would be able to let Applebloom stay with them a while. But just like everyone in Ponyville, they were experiencing the same issue. At one point, Fluttershy agreed to watch Applebloom until AJ and Big Mac started to feel better.

After hearing that Fluttershy graciously took in Applebloom, Rarity sent Sweetie Belle off to her the moment she started to cough. She didn't want Sweetie to see her like that. She didn't want her to get sick either, and in fact, she probably transported it from their parents house and into Rarity's. That made Rarity angry. Her last words to Sweetie were about how upset she was that she'd brought the illness to her.

Scootaloo went to Fluttershy herself. She couldn't find Rainbow Dash, so she settled for the next best pony. She was shocked to see her friends had been there themselves the past few days. Scootaloo only managed to stay a few hours, because during the night the crusaders awoke to a crash in another room. Upon investigation they saw Fluttershy hunched over a broken glass. There was blood on the floor.

They went to comfort her, but she wasn't herself any longer. When she turned to face them it already looked like she'd been ravened by the infection. She was so hungry. Why couldn't the jar just open? She was so... hungry. Before she could even stand back up, the crusaders grabbed their things and fled to the only place they knew they'd be safe. The clubhouse.

Well. Do I have a story for you.

When I was a wee young lass, I was on the Pony side of doll enjoyers. This was like 2008, so it was G3. I had several DVDs of the cartoon, but I had one of a live performance called "The World's Biggest Tea Party." It's exactly what you expect.

One day, I decide to go through all of my DVDs and re watch some that I haven't in a while, this being one of them. It's barely reaching feature film length, but the pacing makes it feel like it's well over an hour.

But I'm not here to critique an Mlp musical meant for 5 year olds, I'm here to show you where part of my Sister Location synesthesia probably comes from.

It was hard to find exact visual parallels, because like I said in the linked post, pink light is used when the Funtimes are preforming, which you see very little of in-game.

There were even similar plot concepts!!! Don't be alarmed, it's not what you think!!!

The movie is available for free on YouTube, but I'll summarize it since the dragging was stronger than my nostalgia goggles.

Pinkie Pie wants to plan an event with her friends where they "have the most fun in one day." So the whole movie is them preparing for a tea party that happens at their friend's house outside of PonyVille. Subplot with Spike trying to find a "how-to" book and the Ladybugs trolling him. Pinkie was so focused on making sure her friends didn't forget their responsibilities, that by the time they got there, she realized she forgot the tea. She feels super bad, but some encouragement from Minty and the screaming child audience summons an oversize teapot. Happy ending.

Text-to-text comparisons I drew:

Main character is a shade of red, and likes parties.

"The most fun in one day"

Main character being overly aware of what everyone else is doing. Super attentive, or if exaggerated, you could call it being bossy.

Main character has a big oopsie.

One of the ponies who is SO adhd coded keeps subconsciously putting off preparing her decorations. She "just wants to have fun." (Character does a thing, doesn't know why, only wants fun.)

Giant kitchen utensil.

The Ladybugs and Minireenas. They share similar design features, and pester a character associated with the color purple.

Those three fairy ponies? Bidybabs. Ones of em's even yellow, it can be Electrobab.

"Bounce Back-Ability"/Adapting from the oopsie.

The aforementioned synesthesia was all visual. I hardly remembered anything of the plot until I watched it recently. I wanna say the last time I put that DVD in, I was like 6. So like the synesthesia was coming from a near 14 year old memory. That's nuts.

i was originally gonna answer Luna, yet after putting more thought on it i think there could be 5 possible answers:

imagining Dirk had invited Damara to watch some MLPFIM for fun i feel like she'd possibly really like these 5 for different reasons:

Pinkie Pie: she reminds her of a more innocent, younger version of herself, so her antics make her happy

Maud Pie: she relates a lot to that feeling of others not really understanding her and that making harder to make and keep friendships

Princess Luna: she relates to feeling underappreciated even if in an entirely different way, mostly to, once again, the feeling of being misunderstood. i feel like she'd feel comforted from her

Sunset Shimmer: mostly would just really like her character arc, also she'd relate to the occasional anger issues

Starlight Glimmer: same as above, and she'd also really enjoy how sassy and snarky she can get

Bro doesn't regress himself (or at least he believes he doesn't)- but rather through lil cal. He takes care of lil Cal as though the puppet was alive and an actual kid.

It was weird, sure, but he didn't care. Dave doesn't mind- heck, the kid used to play with Cal all the damn time when he was little. As he got older, he grew distant. Bro can't blame him. Cal's childish, n' Dave's maturing.

It wasn't an odd request. You were decently stressed out after last nights gig- and Cal (You.) loves to have parties with you to help cheer you up. Though the theme was.. unique, you suppose. I mean, seriously, my little pony? You didn't even know Cal (You.) watched that show. (10/10. On the re-watch list.)

Deeming the coffee table okay enough for the job, you clear the empty Chinese boxes and other junk off. You picked out a nice tablecloth; A pastel pink with the ponies repeating on the edge. You lay down two plastic plates you found at the dollar store- the one on the left having Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie on it, and the one on the right having Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy on it. You note both have Rainbow Dash. Must be Cal's (Your.) favorite.

Placing down two plastic cups, (normal red ones, they didn't have any themed one at the store) you crack open one of your lil man's AJ's. You hope he doesn't mind. (Since Cal can't technically drink, you pour more in your cup. You hope he doesn't mind.)

Finally, you pull on your Rainbow Dash onesie. (Cal is wearing a matching one!) You are all curled up on the floor against the couch, with your blanket wrapped around you and Cal sitting above you on the couch. You begin pulling up Netflix to watch some MLP whilst conversing with your friend over- oh! Damnit! You can believe you forgot to put the cupcakes out! How embarrassing.

Oh well. Cal just laughs it off. He's a good friend.

Dave walks out of his bedroom. "Hey." He says.

"Hey." you reply.

"You uh- you, hanging with Cal?" He asks.

"Yeah." you reply.

"Okay." he says. He goes to the bathroom.

You think about inviting him to the party, but nah, he probably wouldn't want to stay. Kids to 'grown' for this or somethin'. You thinks that's lame. Cal agrees.

You'll just ask him to get you the cupcakes off the counter when he gets out.

Working on a fun cool FOP New Wish au ask blog! Lots of horror and fun silly stuff. There are two sides to the plot, A & B.

A plot is Peri, Dev and somehow Dale is here.

B plot is Hazel, Cosmo and Wanda.

This AU/Ask blog is going to be hosted on a separate blog, and have a recommended 16+ rating for dark horror content, slight suggestive content (With adult characters and no NSFW/Explicit content tho I promise!), triggering content and I’ll add warnings when needed. Any posts with darker content will have a warning banner and cut so that no one on the character tags sees it by accident. To be honest, my target audience is other adult horror likers who grew up with kid’s show inspired horror like in the MLP, Steven universe, Invader Zim fandoms etc- but I made it 16+ bc i think 18+ would imply this is something that this definitely isn’t.

Think darker 2019-2020 Steven Universe ask blogs kinda when it comes to what kind of content to expect. I’m not gonna hold back too much!

You can ask either Hazel, Cosmo, Dev or Peri questions, and if it’s a question directed at someone else they can relay that question to that character.

For example, you can ask Dev a question meant for Dale and he’ll answer it, or you could ask Hazel a question for Wanda and she could ask Wanda for an answer. You can ask questions directly targeted at any character, but Hazel, Cosmo, Dev and Peri will deliver your questions basically.

Hazel, Cosmo and Wanda, the B plot, are answering questions while trying to understand the consequences of [EVENT] and figuring out how this effects their magic.

Hazel got caught up in the same mess that Dale and Dev did, but didn’t get snatched up by Peri as she’s

A:Not his godkid and

B: Cosmo and Wanda protected her and got her to safety- though a little bit late (not as late as Dev tho- sob).

However, Hazel’s proximity to the [REDACTED] hasn’t left her without unusual symptoms. She just didn’t [REDACTED] like Dev. She’s definitely more in control on her end of the plot, unlike Dev and Dale who are pretty much following whatever Peri does at the moment.

Dale is literally only here because he was injured and dying and Dev freaked out so Peri just grabbed him. Lucky Dale? Maybe not. Peri is a little evil here, not really a villain- but definitely darker Peri here!

Anyways, back on earth, Hazel, Cosmo & Wanda have to navigate the effects of what happened after the battle. I’m being vague bc this all gets revealed through the ask blog and I don’t want to spoil anything before a I drop the plot.

Now here’s a little request for help, I’m watching some FOP lore vids and watching seasons 1 & 2 of FOP completely to refresh my memory, but I don’t have time to re-watch the series. If you know any good sources for FOP lore, and maybe something with a list of all the most important episodes to watch please let me know. I want this to line up with previous lore as much as possible, so I’m not dropping the AU until I’m confident that it’s pretty consistent!!!
