Bill ruined me. I can’t even look at a picture of him without almost entering a panic state. I don’t hold it against other Bill kins/fictives. I know they’re not my Bill. My Bill is someone who has followed me through so many lives just to make mine and my Dipper’s lives hell. He was sadistic. Depraved. Worse than any other Bill I’ve seen out there. I’ve been rewatching Underverse since episode 0.6 is coming out later this week, and seeing myself (Nightmare) on screen gave me serious kin feels. I started feeling my phantom tentacles almost as soon as I appeared, and I can still feel them over an hour later (I watched 2 episodes today, with a break to work on dinner).

Speaking of Nightmare related things, I’ve found some songs that trigger a kinshift, along with some more parts of my life that make sense onow that I know that I’m Nightmare. I’ll talk about the songs first.

The first song is Megalovania, which kinda makes sense seeing as I’m an AU Sans. Still, I barely have any connection to Classic, so I’m not sure why it triggers a shift.

Even stranger is the fact that Tokyovania (a mashup of Tokyo Teddy Bear by Neru and Megalovania that SharaX made) triggers a shift as well, and a much stronger one at that. Tokyovania was, for a reason I don’t know, assigned to Ink!Sans by the fandom so most fans know it as his theme, even though that wasn’t its original purpose. Ink and I did not get along, so I have no idea why this song gives me positive kin feels.

Now for the parts of my life I can connect to being Nightmare.

Enjoying shows/stories where the characters go through serious emotional pain. I’ve almost always liked them more than happy/fluffy stuff, but I enjoy happy stuff sometimes. Sometimes, real life unhappy scenarios give me the same sense of satisfaction/enjoyment that fictional ones do. Thankfully, it doesn’t happen often and only when it doesn’t involve those I know.

Being very good at reading others’ emotions, especially negative ones.

Overly positive folks make me somewhat uncomfortable, but also at ease/happy at the same time. This is likely because of my brother.

Others touching my back sometimes makes me very uncomfortable, especially when they touch where I now know my tentacles are.

Always wanting to have someone to see as a sibling, despite not having one or knowing what it was like. I know what it’s like now since I have some memories/emotions related to Dream, but it definitely applies to past me. This could also relate to my Dipper canon, since I had Mabel when I was him.

It seems like I’m always discovering new ways that being ‘kin affects my current life, and I love it! It’s such an interesting and exciting experience to discover more about myself.

💢- What do you NOT like about your hyperfixation? is there something you would want to change about it?

🌲 - HMMMMMM hmmm I think I would have liked Mabel’s character arc to have been a little clearer. She’s a goofy kid who sometimes can be selfish (because… y’a know, she’s a kid) and Dipper would do the same and then have a very clear redemption where he rights his wrongs, and I feel like Mabel could’ve had something more there, too. In the comic they mention it briefly that she’s “trying to be a better sister” but I’d like to have seen more in the show. I STILL LOVE HER THOUGH 10000/10 babie

🍂 - MORE EPISODES GOD DAMN IT - but other than that nothing. The characters are clear and relatable and the story is brilliant. Maybe a little bit longer after the conclusion where we see Wirt apologize in the hospital for being a jerk, but idk that’s a little nitpicky and it was still a satisfying ending.

💎- Are there any fun facts or trivia that you would like to share?

🌲 - OK OK god I have so much. So much. But I’m completely normal about this so uhh let me pick one. Did you know that the cipher wheel shown in the beginning of every ep (the one with all of the emblems of the main characters) was total bullshitting? And then Alex Hirsch saw people trying to figure it out and was like “oh damn I have to do something with this now” they didn’t even know if Bill was gonna show up he was mostly an inside joke and they threw that cipher in to look mysterious. Also Alex during production had a very strict rule book with few rules that SHOULD NOT BE BROKEN. For one, characters were NOT allowed to have “Garfield eyes” - half lidded. He said it made them look dumb. And the second one I remember is Dipper and Mabel love each other and care about each other, and shouldn’t be seen fighting often. It’s very cute.

🍂 - Most people probably know the trivia, but my favorite is 1) Wirt was actually not meant to leave The Unknown, he was going to be redeemed by dying initially, 2) the story was going to have a completely different direction with the beast and the train (the boys would be told that the train will bring you to death, but it actually brings you to life, and the beast was a conductor trying to help these boys but being misunderstood), 3) Wirt and Greg (according to the comics) still visit the unknown together in their dreams, and 4) In the official merch “For Sara” tape, you can hear a clip of baby Wirt talking to his father, who is voiced by Patrick McHale, who was the director and PERFECT for that voice (and it’s hecking adorable)

🍀- Do you have any kins or comfort characters from your hyperfixation?

🌲 - I don’t really understand what a kin is (kinning? Kinney?? Kidney idk, I’m not very hip) but both Dipper and Mabel will have a special place in my heart. I was always top of every class, struggled with self identity (and crushing on people WAYYY out of my league lmao), enjoyed conspiracies and mystery novels, loved adventure, felt misunderstood and have always been a bit of an outcast, so Dipper Pines would be probably the best. Of course, I also wear mostly sweaters, I’m a bit rambunctious and energetic, love sweets, love animals, have lots of tactile hobbies involving scrapbooking, art and needlework and if I could have any pet I wanted I’d have a pig, so Mabel is another one.

🍂 - Wirt!! My boy. Again, still vague on what kinning is?? But Wirt is my favorite in terms of relatability. Greg is my favorite more from the standpoint of “he’s adorable and I want to love and protect him” (and maybe I want to be a little more creative and fun like him), but I’ve always related to Wirt. I drink black tea, wear mostly sweaters that look like something academic, enjoy music and poetry (I’m actually a published poet!!), struggled with social groups (“EVERYONE HATES ME!!!” “Oh hey Wirt” SO RELATABLE), I’m spacey, clumsy and tend to retreat into my own little world. Plus I stutter a lot and fumble over my words. I play guitar, so not quite clarinet, but the idea is there. I don’t relate to the anxiety quite as much anymore, since I’ve pulled myself out of that place, but watching that as a kid made me feel like I was watching myself (except I’m not an ass to my siblings haha).

Gravity falls or Over the Garden Wall - HEY I’m Wirt and I actually dated Dipper and Bill at some point? We had this weird poly type thing kinda going on whether it be platonic or romantic and idk, I just. Miss them both so much. I was close with Mabel too, she was so comforting to have around, she really boosted my confidence a lot and just. Supported me in general. She was a close friend to me. New to kin?

Hey all! So... I dont know much about kin. I've observed from the sidelines but dont really know all THAT much. Recently I got my first kin though, Dipper Pines, after watching gravity falls. It's been kind of a wild ride figuring out what's going on since I've never felt this before? It's so hard to describe.

I havent gotten any memories, yet at least. I dont know what experiencing a memory will be like but there are some of these like... fuzzy images and memories that I can feel just out my grasp rn, and there are some details I feel like I can like, feel still? Even though I don't remember them exactly?

I think big events mostly fit with canon as far as I know now. I definitely had a huge crush on wendy, always hoped the age difference wouldn't matter when we got a little older... definitely was not friends with bill. Things with him were bad and scary and awful, but complicated too? I dont remember yet.

I hope I was good to Mabel and appreciated her enough, I'm not sure if I always did. I think something bad happened between us, but I dont really know. Whatever happened it didnt matter, she was still my best friend and I love her, I hope she knew that.

My big dipper birthmark might have been a little different too! Freckles instead of a birth mark and no lines connecting the dots. I don't remember if it was still on my forehead or if it was on my wrist...

Idk! This is all weird and new confusing! And advice or resources to help me understand all this would be appreciated

Not really a help blog but I can't find an explanation on an actual help blog so here is one: it's where your kin memories, experiences, relationships--both romantic, platonic, antagonistic, etc--the particular environment or world, and so on are not the same as portrayed in the known source! The canon may be mildly to heavily divergent!

For a mild example, in Nier Automata 9S is portrayed as a male android and 2B is portrayed as a female android! In a mildly divergent canon, everything would be exactly the same with the exception that both 9S and 2B are portrayed as the same gender!

For a heavy example, in Harry Potter has a number of magical species! The main characters, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and their respective families are portrayed as typical human! In a heavily divergent canon, Harry could be a Veela, Ron could be a Werewolf, and Hermione could be a vampire! They could all attend different schools, come from different schools or countries, have different genders and sexualities, have different rivalries, relationships, affiliations, etc!

And that's not even going into crossover canons! I think there is a fickin who submits kinfessions that has a SCP / Homestuck cross over canon! Neat! Kinda a real rough canon, but still that's pretty interesting!

Crossover Canons are, essentially, when one source occurs alongside or within the same universe as another source! Such as the occurrences of Gravity Falls occurring in the same world as the X Files world occurs in! So you’d have Scully and Mulder investigating alien stuff while Mabel and Dipper have their adventures somewhere else! They might interact in some way, such as the characters meeting each other over the course of their lives!

Hi there! I’m a Dipper kin who’s looking for their friends and family. So far Bill is the only person I’ve found, but I miss everyone else a lot!

Mabel and I were 13 instead of 12, but we were still the same (just born a year earlier). Bill and I were really good friends, and Ford was furious about it; he’d always try to keep us from hanging out, so I grew to not like him much. Weirdmaggedon still happened despite our friendship, and the conclusion was the same as in the show... but Bill was dead for good. I never gave up my Pine Tree hat, even years later.

Lol yeah, since most of them havve their “official” colors. Eridan is violet/purple, Rose is red, Aranea is green, Xefros is burgundy, Dipper is blue, Mettaton is pink, and Erisol is lime green.

I think my Eridan timelines are from the same canon (just one’s the pre-scratch and the other is post-scratch) but other than that no.
