Hi! Can i request for reader x batboys where they’re dating but reader doesn’t know they’re vigilantes. One day they ( as vigilantes) flirt with her then reader tells them that she’s happily taken. Thank you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m only doing dick and Jason cuz my brain doesn’t know what to put for Tim or Damian. And this is probably a boat load of words that make no fucking sense when reading it, so I apologise.
Jason
‘You look lost sweetheart.’ You heard from above you only to see the silhouette of the vigilante red hood.
‘I can assure you I’m not.’ You replied straightforward, wanting nothing more to get home and cuddle up to Jason in your shared bed, after all it had been a long day and you weren’t in the mood to be chatted up by anyone, you were loyal to Jason no matter what.
‘I’m only trying to help.’ Red Hood tells you as he dropped down from the roof and landed safely in front of you before standing up to his full height.
‘I understand that but when you added sweetheart I’m naturally going to assume you’re attempting to hit on me.’ You said with your arms crossed over your chest. ‘I’m more than happily taken by the sweetheart man I’ve ever known.’ You added as a boast because it was more than the truth, and you could spend the entire week talking about how much better Jason was then any other man in existence.
Jason could feel his heart melt when you said that and was half tempted to rip his helmet off to kiss you senselessly, but he decided to be cheeky and milk this for all it’s worth if it meant hearing you speak about him in high praise. ‘Oh yeah? Does he treat you right?’ He asked as he leans against the wall, crossing his arms over his chest, reading himself to hear whatever you had to say.
‘He treats me as though I made the stars in the sky and looks at me like I did too,’ you began smiling as you remembered the fondness in Jason’s eyes whenever you did something mundane, ‘I could just be standing there in a plain shirt and a pair of his boxers, looking like absolute shit but he would still tell me I looked stunning.’ You added as you felt the smile stretch further across your lips.
God you loved that teddy bear of a man so much you didn’t know where to put it most of the time.
You noticed that Red Hood didn’t say anything but that was because beneath the helmet Jason was fighting through urge to hold you in arms and never let you go, smother your face in kisses because of how fucking cute you were being without trying, however he knew that he better get back home before you did if he ever wants to do any of that and so he clears his throat and says. ‘It’s good that he does treat you like that, you deserve it more than you know, I bet he’d be devastated if something were to happen to you, go to war even.’
You furrowed your brows as Red Hoods words before shrugging. ‘I mean…yeah I guess, he’d do anything to get me back. I hear him whispering it when he thinks I’m asleep.’ You add as you felt a sense of familiarity from the vigilante but decided to brush it off when you checked the time on your phone and winced. ‘I should get going and I’m sure you-‘ you went to look over to where you saw the vigilante last, only to be greeted with the sight of nothing. ‘-do too…’ you trailed off before shrugging your shoulders and continuing on your way home.
Unaware of the fact that Jason was still watching you from the rooftops above, knowing damn well that he would indeed go to war for you, his beloved little chipmunk.
Dick
‘What’s someone as pretty as you doing in a place like this? It’s dangerous you know.’ Nightwing practically purred.
‘I’ve walked through here multiple times before and I can tell you it’s safer than most in Gotham.’ You told him, crossing your arms, unamused.
Nightwing raised his hands in defence. ‘Just trying to look out for a cutie like you is all, no need to bite my head off.’ Dick had a feeling that something might happen on your walk home tonight and decided to keep constant tabs on you the entire night as Nightwing. He could tell you were tired and just outright done with everything but he’d rather you be safe on your journey home than not, regardless of how safe your route home was.
‘I’m pretty sure there’s other people you could be saving instead of flirting with me. I’m taken for your information, and happily so by the most prettiest and albeit goofiest man alive.’ You told him with a smile as your mind drifted to imagining Dick sitting in your shared bed with Hayley in his sleepwear, snoring loudly despite trying to stay up for your return.
‘Pretty? How so?’ Nightwing asked as he eagerly leant in forward to hear you. Dick just wanted an excuse to hear you gush about him without knowing that he was right in front of you.
You sighed at the aspect of having to spend even more time with a vigilante that seemingly didn’t take the hint. ‘He’s got a smile that could light up an entire city for future generations, a laugh so pretty and addicting that you’d be more then willing to make yourself look like an idiot just to hear it again, and he’s got a beautiful set of eyes that you could get lost in no matter what because they’re just so…enriched in colour.’ You finished, the image of Dick’s gorgeous eyes embedded into your mind that left you feeling seen and loved.
Dick couldn’t help but smile at your words, not knowing what to expect when he asked you about how pretty he was, now that he had he could feel a burst of warmth within his chest that now encased his entire body. You were too sweet and kind for your own good and Dick just wanted to keep you safe from everything that Gotham represented, whether it was out of his innate selfishness to keep you for himself, to keep a bright light of his own in a twin as dark and depressing as Gotham he wasn’t sure but all he knew was that he wanted to keep you in his life as long as he possibly could.
‘Sounds like you love him very much.’ He says after a brief period of silence.
‘I’m more than anything.’ You replied without hesitation. Your hand reaching into your coat pocket, thumb caressing the cute charm Dick had bought you to add onto your keys, it helped you calm down in certain situations because it meant that no matter how far apart you may seem you still had a piece of Dick close by. ‘Which is why I really want to get home, so I can see him and our darling dog Hayley.’ You add with a smile when the blue staffy came to mind.
Dick remember where Hayley was before he left to watch over you, fast asleep on your side of the bed, which meant that when you came home you’d have to cuddle up to him as it was proven difficult to wake Hayley up when she had made herself comfortable. However if this meant that Dick got the chance to hold you close to his chest, he’d gladly let Hayley sleep on your side of the bed more often, and he did on multiple occasions.
‘Then I best let you go, don’t wanna keep either of them waiting.’ Nightwing said and you couldn’t help but feel ecstatic at the thought of finally getting to go home to your little makeshift family. You didn’t know how much longer you were willing to stand there when you knew Hayley was waiting for you impatiently with a boat load of face licks with your name on it.
‘That’s probably for the best because both of them can tend to get a little whiny when I’m even a second late.’ You laughed to yourself as dick couldn’t help but internally pout at this, he didn’t get whiny when you were late did he? He pushed this thought aside and smiled as he watched you walk away, keeping his eyes on your for a couple seconds longer to make sure you were okay, before realising that he should better beat you home before you find him not there in bed and quickly rushed up to the rooftops and ran like his life depended on it.
He wanted to keep his secret safe for a little while longer before admitting everything to you just yet.

Pent up (l.hs, p.sh)
Read pt.2 here
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings : Non con, dub con(?), morally grey plot obviously (what do u even expect from me), filth, smut
Tumblr media
Heeseung could feel the familiar itch in his chest and palms... and somewhere else. Well his dick to be precise.
He was horny. Inexplicably and utterly horny. could you blame him? His fanbase was majorly comprised of females. Hot females. But they weren't allowed to mingle with fans and that heightened his yearning more. Like craving the taste of a forbidden fruit.
He rubbed an exasperating hand over his sweaty face, breathing heavily through his nose to get in as much oxygen as he could, the testosterone was high in the hotel room, everyone still riding the adrenaline rush from the concert even though it had been done and over an hour ago. The tension was high in their bodies still and he could feel himself buzzing with it.
He knew it was practically impossible to get pussy at this hour, especially with the whole NDA thing and it agitated him further. His balls were heavy and in a desperate need to be drained empty by a tight warm pussy or mouth, he didn't even care, he just needed release.
He mentally thanked God for being the oldest and having the solo room privileges cuz it seemed like hardcore porn and his hand would have to do for the night. He was so ready to jerk off till his dick ached.
"Gonna head to my room" he informed Jay, who was sitting beside him on the spacious couch, just in case their manager started panicking upon not finding him with the rest of the boys.
Jay gave him a quick nod of acknowledgement and went back to whatever he was doing on his phone. Probably texting his girlfriend. That lucky fucker, heeseung thought. Jay's girlfriend was hot, heeseung had checked her out shamelessly on multiple occasions, even tried to get into her personal space a lot of times until Jay strictly told him to back off. Well, his bad, but what could he do? He was just a man who thought with his dick most of the time.
Tumblr media
You heard him before you saw him, the sudden click of the door opening startling you enough to make you jump and turn around towards it. With the air freshener still in your hands, you came face to face with the most gorgeous man you had ever seen.
First thing you noticed about him was how tall he was, looking down at you even from a distance. His messy hairs fell over his forehead , his entire body clad in a casual black shirt and sweats attire. You gulped cuz this wasn't a part of the job. You were told to ready up the rooms for some very important people who would be staying at the hotel tonight but no one was supposed to be here for another hour or two. or maybe you messed up the timings again. Oh you were fucked.
The gorgeous man raised an amused eyebrow at your deer caught in the headlights stance and that's what finally made you break out of your inner monologue and you bowed to him, body on autopilot to do damage control
"I'm so sorry for the inconvenience sir, i wasn't aware you would get here this fast, I just need to fix the bed and I'll be done" you stuttered out, hoping a quick apology would be enough and turned back around to quickly fix the sheets, spraying the freshening spray around, hoping you won't be reported to the manager for this blunder.
What you failed to notice in your inner panic was how heeseung turned the lock of the door, setting the bolt in place, basically locking you in the room with him.
You didn't notice how his eyes scanned your figure while you apologized to him, or how his blood ran hot when the word "sir" came out from between those tempting, glossed lips of yours.
You didn't notice how his eyes ran shamelessly over your exposed legs, his tongue coming out to wet his lower lip while he ogled the curve of your ass as you bent over to fix the bed sheets.
Damn, heeseung thought, his dick twitching in interest, already leaking in his pants with how excited he was becoming at the sight of you.
You jumped upon feeling two large palms grabbing your sides, a squeak falling from your lips at the unwelcome touch
"What the fuck" was the first thing that came out of your mouth, caught too off gaurd to even react properly.
You tried to turn around to push him away but before you could even move he was twisting your body, manhandling you onto the bed. Your mouth opened to scream but a large palm stopped your attempt, your eyes widened in terror upon feeling his large body settle over yours, one tight grip on both of your wrists, trapping your hands above your head while his hand covered your mouth.
Heeseung was ecstatic, he could feel how soft you were against his hard body, your tiny figure squirming underneath his harsh hold, wide scared eyes staring up at him through wet lashes, he wanted to coo, you looked so adorable like this. Just ready to be fucked.
"You know I could easily get you fired sweetheart, just don't fight this" He threatened subtly, his calm voice oddly did the trick and you halted your struggling body.
You were a broke college student barely making ends meet. Your younger siblings depended on you for everything and so just the thought of getting fired was enough to chill your bones. That just wasn't something that you could afford. Tears flowed down your cheeks but you complied. Accepting your fate.
His eyes pivoted to your heaving chest, the open button at the top of your dress shirt giving him a peak of your perky mounds, driving him crazy with his rising lust for your body.
"Going to remove my hand but only if you'll be a good girl" he whispered, his hot breath fanned your face and you nodded too enthusiastically, making him chuckle and remove his hold on your mouth. His hand instantly moved to unbutton your shirt, making you sniffle into yourself. You closed your eyes in disgust, not wanting to see what was happening to your body, a sharp gasp leaving your lips when his rough hand squeezed your chest harshly.
An excited "fuck" fell from his lips upon feeling your soft tits, hardening him further in his pants. He duck down to run his nose along your clavicle, breathing you in while he groped the sensitive flesh of your boobs mercilessly. He traced the length of your neck and jaw, leaving small kisses and bites, eventually coming face to face with you.
"Open your pretty eyes I want you to see me do this to you" he whispered on your lips, taking the bottom one between his teeth. His nails dug into your mounds when you didn't listen, making you cry out in pain and giving into his wishes.
Your tear strained eyes looked into his lust blown hazy ones, watching how he suckled on your bottom lip, opening your mouth pliantly when he thrust his tongue into your mouth, licking and sucking, lewd noises coming from him at the taste of your tongue.
Heeseung was painfully hard. And as much as he wanted to take his time exploring your body, he was too fucking impatient to do so. His dick was weeping to get inside your warm fuck hole and he was not going to deprive himself of the much needed relief of your body any longer.
He moaned into your mouth, licking deeper while his hand travelled down between your legs, moving under your dress skirt to probe at your pussy from above your panties, making you gasp into his hungry mouth. That breathless gasp and the feel of your cunt was what did him in.
Removing himself from your body he climbed down the bed while you watched him petrified. Nerves frozen in anticipation of his next move.
"Take off your panties" He instructed you while he undressed his lower half, hastily taking off his sweats and boxers, exposing his hard and leaking dick to your terrified eyes.
You sobbed, your thighs closing upon the sight of his member, it was so big and you could already imagine the pain it was going to put you in. You saw how his jaw clenched at your lack of action, sharp and annoyed eyes staring daggers at your face
"we can both enjoy this if you don't fight me baby, or I can enjoy this alone I don't fucking mind it either way" He gritted through his teeth, climbing back on top of you. Before he could reach for your clothes your small hands were stopping him, sniffing softly as you took a good look at him. His inquisitive eyes watched you impatiently.
"O-okay" You whispered and slowly reached down to take off your panties, opening your legs for him. A weird tingling feeling was starting to build up in between your legs upon seeing his leaking length. Maybe it was the fact that you hadn't gotten laid in a while or maybe you were a freak but you could feel the moisture starting to accumulate in your pussy.
He bit his lower lip upon seeing you so pliant and ready to take him. God he needed to fuck the shit out of you. "That's a good fucking girl" he whispered.
He didn't wait any longer to aim his cock at your entrance, parting your pussy lips and breaching the opening of your cunt, a pained moan leaving your lips while he groaned in satisfaction at the feeling of your snug walls.
Your hands held onto his shoulders, your back arching at the feeling of him forcing himself inside of you so roughly, burying himself in your womb to the hilt.
"fuck yeah baby" He groaned upon feeling his balls slap your asscheeks, finally fitting his entire dick inside your warm and tight pussy.
He didn't give you time to adjust, his hips moving on pure animal instinct to fuck. You screamed in pain at his brutal movements but the constant bumping of his dick into your cervix was making your eyes roll back into your head.
His hips moved against yours roughly, pelvic smacking sounds filling up your senses. Heeseung's mind was focused on the singular thought of your pussy, brows furrowed and mouth open as he moved his dick in and out of you, enjoying the tight clench of your walls, giving him so much pleasure his entire body was on fire
"your cunt is making me feel so good" he panted on your face, his movements never ceasing, you could feel every drag of his veiny cock against your gummy walls, making you moan in pure pleasure
"You're getting wetter the more we fuck baby" He chuckled through strained voice, hoisting your legs over his shoulders, taking you deeper, penetrating his cock way past your womb.
Your nails dug into his shoulders, moaning helplessly as he grinded his lower body into yours, your colliding sexes making a mess now that you were leaking onto the sheets
"That's right-fuck-enjoy it with me, a little fun never hurt anybody" He grunted, increasing his pace, desperately chasing the friction your pussy was giving him
"Oh my god-" you screamed when he continued to beat your insides raw, bumping continuously against your g spot.
"Yeah? feels good doesn't it baby? giving it to you so good yeah?" he spoke, his thrusts merciless. Railing you into the bed.
Your hips chased his own, opening your legs further for him, enjoying the sex more than you were supposed to. If this was happening to you, you might as well enjoy it right?
Your lips attached themselves to his throat and he moaned, lust blown eyes staring down at you
"You are getting off to this you little fucking slut, fuck yeah " He spat at you in disgust but the twitch of his dick inside your womb didn't go unnoticed by you.
"You like when men force themselves inside your slutty little cunt yeah? makes you feel so good doesn't it baby?" His words only made you wetter, your juices leaking onto his balls.
He was busy pounding you into the sheets, the bed creaking loudly, skin slapping sounds so deafening you didn't hear the lock jingling and the door opening.
"Mhmm fuck, busy enjoying alone?" a manly voice interrupted your pleasure filled haze, your eyes darting to the side as a tall and even more gorgeous figure came in your field of vision. His eyes were focused on you and how heeseung was railing you.
Even though you wanted to hide away from his gaze, the lust filled phase your mind was in was turning you on more.
Heeseung didn't cease his movements, smirking at the spare key in sunghoon's hand, he sighed in pleasure at the way your pussy was clenching rapidly around his dick, excited at the prospect of someone watching you fuck
"little slut, she likes that you're here" he panted, folding your body in half and fastening his hips, feeling the knot in his stomach tighten.
"fuck keep clenching on me baby, I'm so fucking close" He groaned, his movements incessant, holding your hips and moving rapidly against you, harsh breaths fell from his lips, eyes focused on yours. He slotted his mouth against yours and moaned out loud, his hips stilling inside you while he filled you with his fuck cream, moaning in satisfaction.
His subtle grinds were frustrating you, needing more friction to reach your own high. Heeseung felt your hips pushing up from the bed to chase his dick and chuckled in disbelief
"you want more dick?" he asked pulling out of you with a pop and watching his thick cum leak out of your hole. You nodded, your hand moving down to circle on your clit, arching into your own touch like a literal sex hungry slut.
"fuck that's hot" sunghoon groaned and your eyes moved to him, his hand squeezed his bulge from above his pants while he watched your movements with hungry eyes. In your sex drunk haze you had forgotten he was even there. You opened your legs further, showing him what you were doing.
"You can stick it inside of her you know, bet she wants it bad" heeseung taunted at him, climbing down the bed and taking a seat on the couch across from it.
Sunghoon was scurrying to unzip his pants as soon as he understood the meaning of heeseung's words and before you knew he was settling over your body, rubbing his dick against your slit, making you bite your lower lip in anticipation of getting dicked down again.
"Where did you even find her, I thought we weren't supposed to fuck fans" He asked looking over at heeseung briefly before pushing himself inside you with a pained groan. You screamed at the sudden penetration, body squirming.
"so fucking tight" he let out through gritted teeth, snapping his hips into yours impatiently.
You wrapped your arms around his neck and arched your body into him. God he was so much bigger than heeseung, your pussy felt so full, you could already feel your high approaching.
"She's not a fan" heeseung groaned gruffly, making you glance over at him, your pussy clenched crazily upon seeing how he sat manspreading on the couch, his dick in his palm, jerking off while he watched you.
Sunghoon didn't question him further, at this point he couldn't care less about who you were, he just wanted to fuck your pussy and that's all that mattered to him.
His hands moved down to help you wrap your legs around his waist and he started thrusting inside of you, a pleasurable groan leaving him upon feeling your wet snatch
"warm and wet, she's like every guy's fucking wet dream" He grunted, his hips snapping rapidly into yours, fucking his dick into your fuck hole in a frenzy. He wasn't going to last long.
"she is isn't she, fucking slut, fuck her pussy , beat it till it's red and raw" Heeseung panted through gritted teeth, his movements fastening on his dick, squeezing his balls and sighing in the overwhelming pleasure.
"fuck yeah" sunghoon groaned and adjusted his hips to reach inside you deeper, making you moan in pleasure, incoherent words falling from your lips, you could taste your orgasm on the the tip of your tongue. "Such good pussy fuck yeah you should get paid for it" He chuckled breathlessly and you moaned at his words. No one had ever talked to you this way.
Your hips chased his dick desperately, fucking yourself back on him
"Yeah you like this don't you? - holy shit-like when men use your tight little cunt to jerk off their dicks don't u baby?" sunghoon panted on your face and you moaned, nodding your head while he pounded you into the sheets
"Cum In her hoon, fill that filthy pussy to the brim" heeseung moaned, his hips lifting off the couch as he watched your grinding bodies fucking like animals on the bed. Hot pleasure was running through his viens and he could feel himself close to another release.
"Shit yeah, so good, feels so good, yeah mhmmnfuck" sunghoon rambled burying his nose into the crook of your neck as his hips grinded into yours, feeling so close, so close, so-
A gutteral moan ripped from his throat and he was coming undone inside of your cunt, the feeling of his warm cum pushing you over the edge, moans and groans filling up the room
"fuck, fuck, fuck ugh God" Heeseung gasped, spilling his cum all over his hand and thighs, his stomach clenching and caving upon feeling such mind numbing pleasure.
Sunghoon's body fell upon yours, grinding a few times to properly fill you with his cum and then he was pulling out of your abused cunt. Groaning upon seeing the mess you were making on the sheets.
Your head lulled to the side in exhaustion, body so sore and mind so numb that you didn't even notice the flash going off as sunghoon captured the sight of your leaking pussy on his phone, saving it in his jerk off folder. He was quick to adjust his dick inside his pants and climb down the bed
"thanks man I needed that" He said and winked at heeseung. Heeseung nodded at him and watched as he left the room fully satisfied. His eyes fell on your spent and naked figure on the bed and he could feel his dick twitch in interest again. Fuck.
Before he could decide against it, he was picking up his phone and dialing jake's number
"Hello?" came jake's muffled voice from the speaker
"Come over to my room and bring Jay with you, I've got the perfect thing for you to relieve the pent up tension"
"Is it your ps5? Because I don't-
"It's a pussy"
Heeseung smiled upon hearing the instant scurrying he could hear over the speaker and he faintly heard jake calling jay's name before he hung up on him.
The night was going to be so so long.

“I’m sorry,” Joel whispered, his voice rough with emotion. “I’m so damn sorry. I never wanted to leave you—never wanted to hurt you.”
You pulled back just enough to look up at him, your gaze meeting his. His eyes, usually so guarded, were filled with an overwhelming sorrow and love that made your heart clench. He lifted a hand to cup your face, his thumb gently wiping away your tears.
“I didn’t know what else to do,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. “I thought… I thought I doing what was right. But I know I hurt you”
You nodded, unable to form words, your emotions too raw, too tangled. But you could see it now, the regret, the pain he carried just as heavily as you had. And while the hurt of him leaving still lingered, there was something else too, something stronger: the undeniable bond between you, the love that had survived despite everything.
Joel leaned down, pressing his forehead against yours, his breath warm and shaky. “I’m here now. I’m not going anywhere, I swear.”
For the first time in what felt like an eternity, you let yourself believe it. You closed your eyes, breathing in the familiar scent of him, feeling the steady rise and fall of his chest against yours.
As you pulled away from Joel's embrace, your eyes fell on Ellie. She stood awkwardly by the door, her arms crossed over her chest, her face shadowed with guilt. She glanced up at you timidly, as if unsure of her place in all of this. Her usually tough exterior seemed to crumble in that moment, revealing the vulnerable girl beneath.
You could see it in her eyes—the weight she carried, the guilt, the fear that maybe she had been part of the reason Joel left, that she had put him in danger that she had separated Joel from you, that somehow this was her fault. But you couldn’t let her believe that. Ellie had been through enough already, and the last thing you wanted was for her to feel like she didn’t belong like she wasn’t part of your family.
Without a second thought, you walked over to her, your steps steady and sure. She blinked, clearly taken off guard, her eyes widening slightly as you reached her. Before she could say anything, you pulled her into a tight embrace, wrapping your arms around her in the same way you had with Joel. You felt her stiffen at first, uncertain, but then she relaxed into the hug, her small frame leaning into yours.
“I’m so glad you’re okay,” you whispered, your voice soft but filled with sincerity.
Ellie didn’t say anything at first, but you felt her arms slowly lift to return the embrace, her fingers clutching the fabric of your shirt like she was holding on for dear life. Her breath hitched slightly, and you could tell she was trying not to cry, to hold onto her usual tough façade. But in that moment, it didn’t matter. She needed to know she was safe, that she was loved.
When you finally pulled back, you kept your hands on her shoulders, looking her in the eye. “It’s not your fault,” you said firmly, wanting her to understand that.
She swallowed hard, her gaze flicking to the floor. “I—I thought you would hate me,” she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. “I thought I… messed everything up.”
“You didn’t,” you reassured her, your voice gentle but steady. “You brought him. You both made it back, and that’s what matters. We’re together now.”
Ellie nodded slowly, though the guilt still lingered in her eyes. But there was a flicker of relief too, a small spark of hope that she wasn’t alone in this, that she didn’t have to carry the burden by herself anymore.
Ellie’s eyes shifted down to your abdomen, where your once swollen belly was now gone, her brows furrowing in confusion. “Where’s the baby?” she asked, her voice quiet but filled with curiosity, almost as if she wasn’t sure how to ask the question.
You smiled gently, the warmth of the moment settling in as you glanced toward the bedroom’s door. “She’s sleeping now,” you answered softly, a deep sense of pride and tenderness filling your chest.
“She?” Joel’s voice cut through the quiet, and you turned to see him staring at you with wide eyes, his expression a mixture of awe and disbelief. “A baby girl?”
You nodded, your eyes softening as you looked at him. “Yeah… a baby girl. Rosie.”
For a moment, Joel didn’t move, his eyes flicking between you and the door to the bedroom where his daughter was sleeping, as though he was trying to wrap his mind around the reality of it. His baby girl. The emotions that flickered across his face—joy, relief, maybe even a little fear—were unmistakable.
“She’s beautiful, Joel,” you said quietly, watching as his eyes grew glassy.
Joel swallowed hard, trying to keep his emotions in check, but it was clear that the weight of the moment was sinking in. He blinked a few times, as if still trying to comprehend what you had said. “Rosie…” he whispered, the name sounding foreign but perfect on his lips. He nodded slowly, as if saying it aloud made it more real. “Can I see her?” he asked.
Joel’s gaze softened, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. The man who had once been hardened by loss and pain now stood before you, vulnerable and overwhelmed by the love he had found again. “I… I need to see her,” he finally managed, his voice thick with emotion.
You smiled, your heart swelling at his tenderness. “Go ahead. She’s waiting for you.”
Joel hesitated for a second, as if afraid to move, but then slowly made his way toward the bedroom door. Ellie stayed back, watching the exchange with a faint smile, but there was still something distant in her gaze. You gave her a reassuring look, hoping to bridge the gap that seemed to have formed between you all since they had returned.
When Joel disappeared into the room, you turned your attention back to Ellie. “You did the right thing, Ellie. You brought him back.”
Ellie shifted uncomfortably, running a hand through her hair. “I don’t know… it doesn’t feel like it.”
You stepped closer to her, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. “You did. We’re here now, because of you. And Rosie’s going to need you too.”
Ellie’s eyes softened, the guilt still lingering, but she nodded slowly. “I’ll try,” she muttered, her voice barely above a whisper.
You gave Ellie a soft smile, sensing the weight of everything she had gone through. “Come on,” you said, your voice gentle. “Let’s go see Rosie together.”
Ellie looked at you hesitantly, her brow furrowing as if she wasn’t sure whether she should join, but you could see the curiosity in her eyes. You reached out your hand, offering her the choice. “She’s part of you too, Ellie. You’ve been with us through everything.”
After a moment’s pause, Ellie slowly placed her hand in yours, the corners of her lips lifting into a tentative smile. You led her toward the bedroom where Joel was standing over Rosie’s crib, his hand softly resting on her tiny back as she slept. He glanced up when the two of you entered, his eyes warm and full of emotion, but they softened even more when he saw Ellie.
“She’s real tiny,” Ellie muttered under her breath, taking cautious steps toward the crib. She peered down at Rosie, her eyes widening as if she couldn’t believe the sight in front of her.
“She is,” Joel whispered, his voice filled with awe. He glanced at you, his expression still laced with wonder.
Ellie stood beside Joel, looking down at Rosie with a mixture of fascination and uncertainty. “I’ve never seen a baby this close before,” she admitted quietly, her hand twitching a little as if she wanted to reach out but wasn’t sure if she should.
You gave her a reassuring nod. “You can touch her, Ellie. She’s stronger than she looks.”
Ellie hesitated for a moment before gently placing her hand on Rosie’s small, delicate arm. Rosie shifted in her sleep but didn’t wake, her tiny fingers curling slightly at the warmth of Ellie’s touch. Ellie’s eyes softened even more, and for a moment, she just stood there, her expression almost unreadable, but you knew there was a flicker of something new—a sense of connection.
“She’s… warm,” Ellie whispered, her voice barely audible. There was a tenderness in her gaze now, something you hadn’t seen in a long time, and it made your heart swell.
Joel wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you close as you watched Ellie bond with Rosie. The three of you stood there, sharing a quiet moment that felt sacred, a moment where everything—despite the hardships, the losses, and the uncertainty—seemed to fall into place.
Joel’s gaze shifted from Rosie to you, his arm tightening around your waist as he pulled you even closer. The softness in his eyes made your heart flutter—there was love there, deep and unwavering, but also gratitude. He looked at you as if he couldn’t believe everything that had come to pass, how the three of you were here, together, in this moment.
“You,” he whispered, his voice rough but tender, “you’ve given me everything.”
His words hit you like a wave, and you felt the emotion rising in your chest. You turned to face him fully, your hands resting gently on his chest as you met his gaze. “Joel…”
Before you could say anything more, he cupped your face in his hands, his thumbs gently brushing your cheeks. “I don’t think I ever believed I’d have this again,” he admitted, his voice low, full of reverence. “A family.”
Your heart swelled, the weight of his words sinking in. The years of survival, of pain, and of loss had hardened Joel in so many ways, but here he was—vulnerable, open, and holding on to the life you had built together.
“We are a family,” you whispered, your voice thick with emotion. “You, me, Ellie, and Rosie. We’re a family, Joel.”
Joel’s lips twitched into a soft smile as he pulled you closer, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “I’m never lettin’ this go. I swear.”
The warmth of his touch, the steady beat of his heart under your hands—it all made you feel safe, anchored in a world that had once felt like it was always slipping away. You tilted your head up, meeting his lips in a soft kiss, a promise shared between the two of you, wordless but understood.
Ellie, sensing the intimacy of the moment, quietly stepped back from Rosie’s crib and gave the two of you space. She glanced back at Rosie with a small smile before slipping out of the room, leaving you and Joel alone in the soft morning light.
Joel kissed you again, slower this time, his lips lingering against yours as if he needed to savor the feeling. When he finally pulled back, his forehead rested against yours. “Thank you,” he murmured, his breath warm against your skin. “For all of this.”

The afternoon passed by quietly, the atmosphere shifting slightly as the day wore on. Joel hadn’t explained much about the thin cut on his neck, and though it didn’t look too serious, it was enough to keep you glancing at him, worry bubbling beneath the surface. Every time you caught his eye, he brushed it off, offering a small smile as if to say it was nothing.
But Ellie had noticed it too, and her mood shifted. She grew more silent, retreating into herself in a way that made the room feel heavier. The unspoken tension lingered between the three of you, subtle but present.
Tommy stopped by for a moment, stepping through the door with a light knock. He exchanged a few words with Joel, his eyes flicking between the two of you as if sensing something wasn’t quite right. You tried to keep things normal, making small talk with Tommy about the day, but even he seemed to feel the undercurrent of unease.
When Tommy left, the silence settled in again, more noticeable this time. You looked between Joel and Ellie, feeling the weight of whatever was unspoken, and decided to break the tension the only way you knew how.
“I’ll make us something to eat,” you offered, your voice light as you stood from the couch. “How about some soup? We could all use something warm.”
But Ellie shook her head, her eyes downcast. “I’m not really hungry,” she muttered, her voice low, almost detached.
You glanced at Joel, who shot you a quick look of concern. He cleared his throat, trying to ease the tension. “You should eat, kid. We’ve been on the road for a long time. Ain’t good to go too long without a meal.”
Ellie shrugged, not looking up. “I’m fine,” she said, but there was an edge to her tone, like something was bothering her. Something she wasn’t saying.
Joel frowned, but didn’t push. You could see the worry in his eyes, though—he didn’t like this silence from Ellie any more than you did. You gave her a soft look, stepping closer to where she sat.
“Ellie, if something’s on your mind, you can talk to me,” you said gently, trying to draw her out of the shell she was retreating into.
She glanced up at you, her expression tight, but didn’t respond. Instead, she shifted on the couch and crossed her arms, staring at the floor.
The room felt tense again, and you exchanged another glance with Joel. He reached out, rubbing the back of his neck, where the cut still seemed to be bothering him. You couldn’t help but feel that whatever had happened out there—on their journey back—was still casting a shadow over them both.
Sighing softly, you stepped back towards the kitchen. “I’ll make something small, just in case you change your mind,” you said, your voice quieter now.
As you moved to prepare the food, you couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to the silence than just hunger or exhaustion. You knew Ellie had been through something on the road with Joel, something that neither of them had fully opened up about yet. And it hung in the air, like a storm cloud waiting to break.
You paused in the doorway of the kitchen, glancing back at Ellie. The heaviness in the air was hard to ignore, but you tried to push past it. “I’ll just whip up something light,” you began, hoping it might help ease the tension.
But before you could take another step, Ellie’s voice cut through the quiet. “No,” she said abruptly, her tone sharper than you expected. She pushed herself up from the couch, her movements quick and tense. “I’m just gonna… go to bed,” she muttered, avoiding eye contact as she made her way towards the bedroom.
You exchanged a quick look with Joel, his brow furrowed as he watched Ellie’s retreating form. Neither of you said anything, but the worry was evident in his eyes. Something was wrong.
Ellie paused at the door to the bedroom, her hand lingering on the handle as if she wanted to say more, but whatever words she had were swallowed by the silence. She opened the door and slipped inside, closing it softly behind her.
You stood there for a moment, feeling the weight of her absence in the room, the quiet settling in again, even more oppressive now that she was gone. The silence between you and Joel felt loaded, like both of you knew there were things left unsaid, but neither of you knew where to start.
Joel let out a long breath, rubbing the back of his neck again, his fingers brushing the cut there. You moved closer to him, your eyes drawn to the mark on his skin. “You still haven’t told me what happened,” you said softly, your gaze meeting his.
He looked away for a moment, as if gathering his thoughts, before finally speaking. “It ain’t important,” he said gruffly, but the way he avoided your eyes told you otherwise.
You gently reached for his hand, your fingers brushing his. “Joel… please.”
He sighed heavily, his shoulders slumping a little as he looked at you. There was a flicker of pain in his eyes, a heaviness he couldn’t quite shake. “We ran into some trouble on the way back,” he admitted, his voice low. “Got separated for a bit, and… things got rough.”
You frowned, your heart tightening with worry. “Separated? How bad was it?”
Joel hesitated, his jaw clenching slightly. “Bad enough,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. He glanced towards the bedroom door, where Ellie had disappeared. “She blames herself for a lot of it… thinks she didn’t do enough.”
You sighed, your heart aching for Ellie. “She’s just a kid, Joel. She carries too much already.”
He nodded, the guilt in his eyes unmistakable. “I know. But try tellin’ her that.” He rubbed a hand over his face, exhaustion clear in his posture.
You reached up, brushing a thumb over the cut on his neck. “And this?”
Joel shrugged slightly, as if trying to play it off. “It’s nothin’. Just a scrape.”
You gave him a pointed look, knowing there was more to it than he was letting on, but you also knew better than to push him too hard. Not right now. “You should rest too,” you said quietly, your hand still resting on his arm.
Joel looked at you for a long moment, his gaze softening. “Yeah,” he agreed, though his eyes kept flicking back to the closed bedroom door, the weight of everything still hanging between you both.
You stepped closer, wrapping your arms around him gently, offering him the comfort he wouldn’t ask for but clearly needed. He held you close, his grip a little tighter than usual, as if grounding himself in the moment.
The room was quiet, save for the soft creak of the floorboards as you swayed gently back and forth, cradling Rosie in your arms. Her tiny breaths were slow and even, her little face peaceful as she slept against your chest. The warmth of her body, the softness of her skin—it all made the world outside seem far away for a moment.
You hadn’t noticed Joel standing in the doorway, his presence silent but heavy. He watched you, his expression unreadable, a strange mix of emotions flickering across his face. There was something in his eyes—something you couldn’t quite place—that hadn’t been there before their return. A shadow that lingered, clinging to him like a weight he couldn’t shake.
As you continued to rock Rosie gently, you felt a subtle shift in the air, a tension that hadn’t been there before. It was as if whatever they had been through out there hadn’t just stayed outside the walls of your home—it had seeped in, affecting everything. You could feel it in Joel’s silence, in the way Ellie had shut down, in the way Joel’s hand kept rubbing the back of his neck as if the cut there was more than just a physical wound.
You gently lowered Rosie into her crib, your movements careful, as though you could shield her from the unease that had crept into your home. Her tiny body shifted for a moment before she settled back into sleep, completely unaware of the turmoil that seemed to swirl around her.
When you finally turned, you saw Joel standing there, his hand resting on the doorframe. His gaze was fixed on you, but he didn’t say anything. He just stood there, watching, his face a mask of quiet contemplation.
“Joel?” you asked softly, taking a step toward him.
He blinked, as if snapping out of a trance, his eyes flicking away from you. “Didn’t mean to disturb you,” he muttered, his voice low.
“You weren’t,” you replied, your voice just as soft. “Is everything okay?”
Joel didn’t answer right away. He stepped into the room a little further, his gaze landing on Rosie in the crib. His face softened for a moment, but that strange tension still lingered. “I don’t know,” he admitted finally, his voice quiet and unsure, something that didn’t sit right with you.
You walked up to him, close enough to place a gentle hand on his arm. “Whatever it is, we can talk about it, Joel. You don’t have to carry it all alone.”
He looked down at you, his jaw tightening slightly. There was a flicker of hesitation in his eyes, as if he wanted to say something but couldn’t bring himself to. “No…I just wanted to say goodnight to the both of you.”
“What do you mean?” you asked, almost whispering “Aren’t you sleeping here?”
“I thought you didn’t want me to.” He said, and the way and the voice you wanted to hear almost seemed to break you.
Joel’s words hit you like a punch to the gut, and for a moment, you were speechless. The vulnerability in his voice, the way he spoke as though he believed he was no longer welcome here, made your heart ache.
You stepped closer, your hand still resting on his arm, this time with a firmer grip, as though you were afraid he might slip away. “What?” you whispered, your voice shaking slightly. “Why would you think that?”
Joel’s eyes flicked down, avoiding yours, his jaw clenched tightly. “After… everything. Thought maybe you’d want some space,” he muttered, his voice rougher now, as though forcing out the words was difficult for him.
His insecurity broke something inside you. This man, who had carried so much for so long, was now standing in front of you, so unsure of where he stood, and it was almost unbearable.
“Joel,” you said softly, lifting your hand to his cheek, trying to get him to look at you. “I spent all this time missing you, how could you think that?”
Joel finally looked up at you, his eyes softening just enough for you to see the flicker of doubt that had settled deep inside him. “I know you missed me,” he said quietly, his voice still rough but tinged with the slightest trace of vulnerability. “But missin’ someone and wantin’ them back after what they’ve done… those are two different things.”
Your heart ached at his words. “Joel, don’t you understand?” you whispered, stepping closer to him, your hand still resting on his cheek. “I missed you. The real you. The man who keeps me safe, the one who’s always been there, no matter what.”
He swallowed hard, his gaze searching your face as if trying to find the truth in your words. “You don’t know what I’ve done,” he said softly, almost as if he were confessing. “Out there, with Ellie… I didn’t know if I could come back from it.”
His words hung heavy between you, and you could feel the weight of everything he wasn’t saying—everything he believed he had to carry on his own. But you weren’t going to let him carry it alone anymore.
“I don’t care what happened out there,” you said firmly, shaking your head. “Whatever you did, whatever choices you had to make to keep Ellie safe, to come back to me… it doesn’t change how I feel about you.”
Joel’s jaw tightened again, but this time, it wasn’t out of anger or frustration—it was the struggle of holding back the emotion threatening to overwhelm him. “How can you still say that? After all this?” he rasped, his voice thick.
“Because I love you, Joel,” you said, your voice breaking as you spoke the words you hadn’t said in so long. “And nothing will ever change that.”
For a moment, he just stared at you, his eyes filled with a mixture of disbelief and something else—something deeper, more profound. Then, slowly, he let out a shaky breath, his shoulders slumping slightly as though the weight of his guilt was beginning to ease, just a little.
Without saying a word, Joel pulled you into his arms, holding you tight against his chest. You felt the tension in his body, the way he seemed to be holding on as if you were the only thing keeping him steady.
“I don’t deserve you,” he whispered into your hair, his voice barely audible.
“You deserve everything,” you murmured back, your heart full as you held onto him just as tightly. “Everything, Joel.”
The two of you stood there for what felt like an eternity, wrapped in each other’s warmth, neither wanting to let go. Eventually, Joel loosened his grip, pulling back just enough to look at you. His eyes were still soft, but the weight of all that he had carried was visible in the dark circles under them. You traced a finger along his jawline, feeling the roughness of his stubble, a small smile tugging at your lips despite the heaviness of the moment.
“Let’s get some rest,” you said quietly, your hand sliding down to take his. Joel nodded, and together you climbed into bed, the weight of everything still lingering, but with the promise that you weren’t alone anymore. As you settled under the blankets, Joel wrapped an arm around you, pulling you close, his warmth grounding you.
You both fell asleep for the first time in months with a sense of peace.
Tumblr media
Hours later, you stirred, feeling the coolness of the sheets beside you. Your hand instinctively reached out, searching for Joel, but the space next to you was empty. Groggily, you opened your eyes, glancing around the room. The soft moonlight streaming through the window cast shadows across the bed, and that familiar sense of panic began to rise in your chest.
You sat up, the dim room spinning for a moment before you steadied yourself. Rosie’s crib was empty, too. Your heart raced as your mind immediately went to the worst possible scenarios, a habit you'd developed in this unforgiving world.
“Joel?” you whispered into the quiet, your voice cracking.
Pushing back the blankets, you swung your legs over the edge of the bed and stood up, your body tense with fear. You listened for any sound—a cry, a murmur—but the house was eerily silent. Barefoot, you padded towards the door, your pulse hammering in your ears. You stepped out into the hallway, your senses heightened, trying to catch any sign of movement.
Then, as you reached the end of the hallway, you saw them.
Joel was sitting in the old rocking chair near the window, cradling Rosie in his arms. The soft creak of the chair rocked in rhythm with his gentle humming, a melody so faint you could barely make it out. Rosie’s tiny face was nestled against Joel’s chest, her tiny fingers clutching at his shirt. Her eyes were closed, her small body relaxed in his strong arms.
The sight of them together made the panic that had gripped you slowly melt away, replaced by a deep, overwhelming tenderness.
Joel’s back was to you, but as if sensing your presence, he turned his head slightly, catching your gaze in the moonlight. His eyes softened when he saw you standing there, his lips parting as if to apologize.
“She woke up,” he whispered, his voice low and raspy in the stillness of the night. “Didn’t want to wake you, so I brought her out here.”
You stepped closer, your breath evening out now that you knew everything was okay. "You didn’t have to," you murmured softly, kneeling beside the chair so you were level with them. Your hand reached out to gently brush Rosie’s soft hair, the steady rise and fall of her breathing soothing your own nerves.
Joel shook his head, his gaze dropping back to Rosie. “I wanted to,” he admitted quietly, his voice thick with emotion. “I’m obsessed with her. She is so beautiful”
His words hung in the air, and for a moment, all the fear, all the guilt he had carried for months seemed to dissolve in the quiet of this simple, intimate moment.
You leaned your head against Joel’s arm, taking in the warmth of him, the scent of Rosie’s baby skin. It wasn’t just about surviving anymore. It was about moments like this, holding on to the people you loved, no matter how broken the world outside was.
“She is” you replied, “You know, since she was born, I spent nights without finding myself able to sleep.” You low your gaze to Rosie, “I couldn’t. I was alone and I was scared something could ever happen to her. I needed to stay awake and make sure she was breathing”
Joel listened to you, but his heart broke a little inside, he had left you behind all this time when you needed him the most. Just when you have started your motherhood.
Joel’s chest tightened at your words, the weight of his absence settling heavily on his shoulders. He looked down at Rosie, the tiny bundle of innocence cradled in his arms, and the guilt surged through him once more. You had been alone during some of the most vulnerable moments of your life, forced to navigate the terrifying responsibility of motherhood in a world that had already taken so much from both of you.
“I’m so sorry,” he whispered, his voice barely audible, thick with regret. His gaze remained fixed on Rosie, his thumb gently stroking her soft cheek. “I should’ve been here. I should’ve been by your side. You shouldn’t have had to go through any of that alone.”
You could hear the pain in his voice, the anguish of a man who felt he had failed the people he loved most. It wasn’t his fault. You knew that. The world had forced his hand—forced him into impossible choices, and you had never blamed him for leaving. But hearing him say those words still made your heart ache.
“It wasn’t your fault, Joel,” you said softly, your hand reaching for his. “I know why you had to go with Ellie. I know you didn’t have a choice.”
Joel’s jaw clenched, his face hardening for a moment as if he were wrestling with the weight of everything he had done—everything he had seen. His eyes flicked back to yours, and you could see the vulnerability there, the raw emotion he rarely let anyone see.
“I still should’ve been here,” he repeated, his voice rough. “I should’ve found a way.”
You gave his hand a gentle squeeze, trying to ease the guilt that was eating away at him. “You’re here now,” you said quietly, your voice full of understanding. “That’s what matters.”
Joel nodded, but you could tell he was still struggling to accept that. His gaze fell back to Rosie, his expression softening as he watched her sleep so peacefully, oblivious to the storm of emotions swirling around her parents.
“She’s everything,” Joel murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. “I’ve never seen anything more beautiful in my life.” He smiled and looked at you for a moment “Well, after you.”
A warmth spread through you at Joel’s words, his soft smile disarming in a way that always managed to pull you in, no matter the weight of the world outside. You felt a flush rise to your cheeks, but you couldn’t help the smile that tugged at your lips. In moments like this, it was easy to forget the pain, the loss, and everything you had both endured to get here.
“Well,” you replied, your voice barely above a whisper as your fingers gently brushed Rosie’s tiny hand, “you have good taste.”
Joel chuckled softly, the sound low and comforting. It was rare to hear him laugh these days, and when it happened, it felt like a small victory against the darkness that so often consumed him. He looked at you again, his eyes full of affection, and for a brief moment, the guilt and weight he carried seemed to ease.
“You both deserve better,” he said quietly, the smile fading just a little, as the seriousness returned to his voice. “I’m gonna do everything I can to make sure you have it.”
You shook your head slightly, your hand still resting on his arm. “Joel, you’ve already given us everything that matters. We’re here, together. That’s all I’ve ever wanted.”
His eyes softened at your words, and he swallowed hard, as if trying to push down the emotion that threatened to overwhelm him. “I don’t know how you do it,” he whispered, almost as if he were speaking to himself. “How you still see good in me after everything I’ve done.”
You leaned in closer, your hand moving to cup his cheek, guiding his gaze back to yours. “Because I know who you are, Joel. I know your heart. Everything you’ve done.
He let out a long breath, his jaw tightening for a moment before relaxing under your touch. “I hope you’re right,” he murmured, his eyes searching yours as if seeking reassurance.
“I am,” you said firmly, your thumb gently stroking his cheek. “You’re a good man, Joel. Rosie and I are lucky to have you.”
For a moment, he just looked at you, the flicker of doubt in his eyes slowly giving way to something softer, something more certain. He leaned in and kissed you, his lips gentle but full of emotion, as though trying to convey everything he couldn’t say with words.
When he pulled back, there was a quiet resolve in his eyes. “I’ll never stop tryin’ to be better for you. For her.”
“You already are,” you whispered, your heart full as you rested your forehead against his.
In the quiet of the night, with Rosie’s steady breathing filling the space between you, it felt like—despite everything—the world had given you something precious. Something worth fighting for.

The next morning, sunlight filtered through the small window of your bedroom, casting a warm glow over the room. The remnants of last night's conversation lingered in the air, but today felt different—lighter somehow. There was a sense of normalcy that hadn't been present for months.
You woke up to the sound of soft baby coos coming from Rosie’s crib. Blinking your eyes open, you smiled as you watched her tiny hands wave in the air, her chubby cheeks flushed with the early morning light. She was your world, and seeing her safe and content filled you with a quiet peace.
Joel stirred beside you, his arm still loosely wrapped around your waist. It was rare for him to sleep in this late, but after everything, it was no surprise he needed the rest. You gently slipped out from under his arm, careful not to wake him, and padded over to Rosie. Her wide eyes looked up at you as you picked her up, her little body warm and soft against yours.
“Good morning, baby girl,” you whispered, pressing a kiss to her forehead. She gurgled in response, her hands reaching for your face, and you couldn’t help but laugh softly.
You took your time feeding her, sitting by the window and watching the town of Jackson slowly come to life. The quiet streets were starting to bustle with activity as people moved about, tending to their duties within the community. It still amazed you sometimes—the sense of order and peace here, despite everything the world had become.
Jackson had become home, and though the scars of the past were still healing, there was a strange comfort in the routine of it all. Maria had been incredibly kind, offering you a place in the community and even helping you when Rosie was born. She had become a friend, and in many ways, a guiding force in these new chapters of your life.
As you dressed Rosie for the day, Joel finally stirred from the bed, sitting up with a groan. He rubbed his eyes, still clearly tired, but there was a soft smile on his face when he looked over at you and Rosie.
“Mornin',” he said, his voice rough from sleep.
“Morning,” you replied, walking over with Rosie in your arms. Joel reached out, gently taking her from you, and held her close, pressing a kiss to her tiny head. You watched as his entire demeanor softened in her presence, the way it always did. He’d always been protective, but since he returned, there was something deeper, a sense of devotion that went beyond just survival.
“You sleep, okay?” you asked, sitting down beside him.
“Yeah,” he said, nodding. “Better than I have in a while.”
You smiled at that, glad that he was finally starting to find some peace. “Good.”
Joel shifted his focus back to Rosie, his fingers tracing little patterns on her arm. “Ellie’s probably out there already,” he muttered, glancing towards the window. “Kid doesn’t know how to take it easy.”
You chuckled softly. “That’s Ellie for you.”
After a few more moments of quiet, Joel handed Rosie back to you and stood, stretching his arms with a grunt. “I’ll go find her, make sure she’s not causing too much trouble.”
You smiled at him, watching as he pulled on his boots and threw on his jacket. Before leaving, he leaned down and pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “I’ll see you later,” he murmured.
“See you,” you replied, watching him disappear out the door.
Just as Joel reached for the door, ready to head out, a sharp knock echoed through the small house. His hand froze on the doorknob, and he exchanged a quick glance with you, his brows furrowed in slight confusion. It was early, and few people usually came by without warning.
Joel opened the door cautiously, his posture tense, ready for anything—old habits that hadn’t quite left him despite the relative safety of Jackson. Standing on the other side of the threshold was a man Joel hadn’t seen before—tall, with a calm but confident demeanor. He was holding a bag slung over his shoulder, the kind you’d expect a doctor to carry.
Joel’s eyes narrowed. “Who are you?” he asked, his voice guarded, suspicion still lacing his tone even though the man seemed harmless enough.
The stranger smiled politely, though there was a flicker of recognition in his eyes. He glanced over Joel’s shoulder for a moment before responding. “We didn’t have the chance to meet before you left,” he said, his voice calm but measured. “I’m Paul. I’m the doctor here. Helped deliver Rosie while you were… gone.”
At the mention of Rosie, Joel’s expression shifted, though his guarded stance didn’t relax completely. The words carried weight, and though Paul’s tone was professional, Joel didn’t miss the subtle undertone that lingered in the air—one that said Paul had been there, playing a part in your life during his absence.
Before Joel could say anything, you appeared behind him, Rosie still nestled against your chest in the sling. Paul’s eyes flicked toward you, his expression softening for a moment, but the tension between you two was palpable. Your shoulders stiffened, your demeanor guarded and cool, the remnants of your last conversation with him still fresh in your mind.
Paul nodded slightly in your direction. “Morning,” he greeted, though his tone lacked the warmth it once held.
You gave a short nod in response, your voice clipped. “Morning.”
Joel’s eyes darted between the two of you, immediately picking up on the tension. His jaw clenched as he studied Paul, piecing together the unspoken dynamic that was hanging heavy in the air.
“So, you’re the one who delivered Rosie,” Joel said, his voice tight, though he managed to keep his tone neutral. He didn’t know the details, but something about Paul’s presence seemed to rub him the wrong way.
Paul nodded, though his gaze lingered on you for a moment before shifting back to Joel. “Yes. I was just doing my job—helping out where I could.”
Joel’s expression hardened at the subtle implication in Paul’s words, but he didn’t rise to it. He simply crossed his arms over his chest, his eyes locking onto Paul’s with a quiet intensity. “Well, we’re grateful,” he said, his voice low, but there was no mistaking the edge to his tone.
Paul, sensing the unspoken challenge in Joel’s words, shifted his weight slightly. He was used to navigating the delicate lines of life in Jackson, and he had expected this moment ever since Joel had returned. Still, it was clear that whatever he had with you—whatever connection might have developed during Joel’s absence—wasn’t something either of you had wanted to acknowledge out loud.
“I just wanted to stop by and check on Rosie,” Paul said, his voice more professional now, though the tension in the air was still thick. “Make sure everything’s going well.”
“She’s fine,” you answered, your voice a little too sharp. “Healthy and strong.”
Paul gave a tight-lipped smile, glancing at the baby for a brief second before looking back at you. “I’m glad to hear it.”
There was a brief silence, the air between the three of you charged with unspoken words. Joel, standing protectively in the doorway, hadn’t moved an inch, his presence a wall between you and Paul. He may not have known everything that transpired during his absence, but it was clear he didn’t like the familiarity in the way Paul looked at you.
Finally, Paul cleared his throat, sensing he wasn’t welcome to linger any longer. “Well, if you need anything—medically, I mean—don’t hesitate to let me know,” he said, his tone polite but distant now.
Joel gave a slow nod, stepping forward just enough to send the message loud and clear. “We won’t,” he said, his voice low and firm.
Paul hesitated for a brief second before nodding in return. “Alright then,” he said, his eyes flicking to you one last time before turning and walking away, his figure retreating down the path that led back into town.
The door clicked shut as Joel closed it behind him, his broad shoulders tense. He turned back to you, his eyes searching your face for an explanation, though he didn’t say anything at first. The silence hung between you for a moment, thick with unspoken questions.
You sighed, shifting Rosie in the sling as you glanced at Joel. “We used to get along” you said quietly, though you knew that wasn’t nearly the whole story. “He’s just been… around.”
Joel’s jaw tightened, but he didn’t press further, at least not now. He ran a hand through his hair, clearly still working through the emotions that Paul’s presence had stirred in him. “Yeah,” he muttered under his breath, more to himself than to you. “Seems like it.”
But Joel didn’t push the subject. Instead, he looked at you—really looked at you—and softened. “You okay?” he asked, his voice gentler now, his protective instincts kicking in.
You nodded, offering him a small smile. “I’m fine, Joel,” you reassured him. “I’ve got everything I need right here.”
Joel’s expression softened at your words, and without another word, he stepped closer, wrapping an arm around you and pulling you into his chest, Rosie nestled between you. Whatever tension Paul had stirred, it was fading in the warmth of Joel’s embrace.
“Yeah,” he murmured, his voice a quiet promise. “So do I.”
Joel pressed a kiss to the top of your head before pulling away, his eyes searching yours as if making sure you were really okay. “I’ll go find Ellie,” he said softly. “We’ll catch up later.”
You nodded, appreciating the space he was giving you to process everything. “Okay. See you later.”
He gave you one last look, his eyes full of unspoken promises, and then he left the house, heading toward town. With Rosie still nestled against your chest, you decided it was time to get moving too. There was work to be done, and you needed to meet Maria.
As you stepped outside into the cool morning air, the town of Jackson bustled quietly around you. It was early, but people were already up, tending to chores, patrolling the perimeter, and preparing for the day. The sense of community here was something that still amazed you. After all the chaos of the world outside, this felt almost like a slice of peace.
You made your way toward the main square, where you knew Maria and Tommy were likely to be. As you walked, you spotted Maria near the stables, talking with a couple of people from the patrol team. Tommy was beside her, nodding along, his expression serious. It looked like they were discussing something important.
You approached them quietly, not wanting to interrupt. Maria glanced up first, her eyes softening when she saw you approaching with Rosie. “Hey,” she called out with a warm smile. “How are my two favorite girls?”
You smiled back, though it didn’t quite reach your eyes. “We’re good,” you replied, adjusting Rosie in the sling. “Joel just left to find Ellie.”
Maria’s smile faltered for a brief second as she exchanged a glance with Tommy, who cleared his throat and stepped forward.
“Actually, I was just about to head over and talk to Joel,” Tommy said, his tone thoughtful. He rubbed the back of his neck, clearly weighing something in his mind.
“About what?” you asked, your curiosity piqued.
Tommy hesitated, looking at Maria as if seeking confirmation. She gave him a small nod, and he turned back to you. “We’ve been talking about bringing him more into the fold here,” Tommy said, his voice cautious but sincere. “My brother’s a survivor, a leader, he’s got experience we could use. We were going to see if he’d be interested in helping out with the patrols.”
You blinked, processing what Tommy was saying. You hadn’t had much time to think about what Joel’s place in the community would be now that he was back. He’d barely had time to settle in, but you knew him—knew that staying idle wasn’t something he could do for long. He needed purpose, especially after everything that had happened with Ellie.
You blinked, trying to absorb Tommy’s words. Joel had only just returned, and the idea of him immediately taking on more responsibilities—especially something as dangerous as patrols—made your chest tighten with worry. But deep down, you knew Tommy was right. Joel was never the type to sit on the sidelines. He needed a purpose, something to focus on, especially after all he’d been through with Ellie.
Still, it didn’t stop the flicker of unease that crept up your spine. After months apart, the thought of him being out there again, facing potential danger, was difficult to process.
“Patrols?” you asked, your voice cautious. “Isn’t that a bit… soon?”
Tommy looked down for a second, nodding as though he understood your concern. “Yeah, it is soon,” he admitted. “But Joel’s always been a natural leader. He knows how to handle himself, and frankly, we need people like him. Things have been good here, but we can’t get complacent.”
Maria, standing beside Tommy, placed a comforting hand on his arm before turning her gaze to you. “We wouldn’t throw him into anything too heavy right away,” she reassured. “He could start small—short patrols, nothing far from Jackson. But Tommy’s right. Joel’s experience could really help. Plus…” She trailed off, her eyes softening. “It might be good for him. To feel like he’s contributing again.”
You swallowed hard, glancing down at Rosie in your arms. She was still sleeping peacefully, oblivious to the adult worries surrounding her. You wanted nothing more than to protect this little bubble of safety you’d found—Joel’s return, Rosie’s birth, the stability of Jackson. But you also knew Joel, knew he wasn’t the type of man to sit back and let others take risks for him. He’d need to be out there, to feel useful again.
“I understand,” you said quietly, glancing back at Maria and Tommy. “It’s just… after everything, I worry.”
Tommy’s expression softened, and he took a step closer. “I get it. Believe me, I do. He’s my brother. I don’t want him out there if he’s not ready either. But I also know Joel. He’s got that look in his eyes again, like he’s ready to do something. We’ll ease him into it. I promise.”
Maria nodded in agreement. “We’ll keep him close at first. Small tasks. He’s got a family now, and we know that changes things. We’re not going to put him in unnecessary danger.”
You let out a slow breath, nodding. You trusted Maria and Tommy, but it was still hard to think about Joel going back out there, even in a limited capacity.
“I’ll talk to him,” you finally said, your voice steady but laced with emotion. “See how he feels about it.”
Tommy smiled, relieved that you were open to the idea. “Thanks. That’s all we ask. Just see how he’s doing. We won’t rush him into anything.”
“Yeah, and we’ll make sure he’s not doing too much too fast,” Maria added. “We want him here with you and Rosie.”
Her words helped ease the knot of anxiety that had formed in your chest. You knew they meant well, and they were right—Joel would need to find his place in the community sooner or later. He wasn’t the type to stay idle, and if this was a way for him to regain some sense of normalcy, then maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing.
“Okay,” you said, offering them both a small smile. “I’ll talk to him when he gets back.”
Maria reached out and gave your arm a reassuring squeeze. “Thank you. We’re all in this together. And whatever happens, you’ve got our support.”
Tommy nodded, giving you a grateful smile before glancing off toward the direction Joel had gone. “I’ll head out soon and find him, have a quick chat.”
Maria gave you a warm smile, her eyes brightening a little as she mentioned the event. “Oh, and remember—we’ve got that little spring party tonight.” She glanced at Rosie and then back at you, a playful glint in her eyes. “It’s just a small gathering, but it might be a nice chance to get out for a bit. You and Joel could use some time to unwind, you know?”
You felt a small smile tug at your lips, though part of you felt unsure. A party, even a small one, seemed like such a foreign idea after everything that had happened. Still, it might be good for both of you—especially Joel—to spend some time around the community, easing back into this new life.
“I don’t know,” you admitted, glancing down at Rosie, who was still peacefully asleep. “We’ll see how Rosie does today. I don’t want to push her too much.”
Maria nodded, completely understanding. “Of course. No pressure. But if you can make it, even for a little while, it might be good for you two. There’ll be food, music—something light to take our minds off things for a bit.” She smiled gently, knowing how much everyone could use a distraction in these times.
You nodded, appreciating her thoughtfulness. “I’ll talk to Joel about it,” you said. “Maybe we’ll stop by for a little while.”
Maria gave you a quick nod. “That’s all we ask. It’s more about getting everyone together and sharing some moments, you know?” She gave a quick wave, then turned and headed back toward the stables.
As you returned to the house, the thought of the spring party lingered in your mind. It had been so long since you’d even thought about anything remotely festive, and a part of you longed for that sense of normalcy, even if just for a few hours. Maybe it was exactly what you and Joel needed—a chance to reconnect, to feel like a part of this world again, rather than just surviving day to day.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over Jackson, you and Joel bundled Rosie in her little blanket and made your way to the spring party. The sounds of laughter and music began to fill the air as you approached, and the sight of string lights flickering overhead created a cozy, inviting atmosphere.
Ellie was already there, bouncing on her toes with excitement as she spotted you. “You made it!” she exclaimed, her face lighting up with joy. She rushed over, throwing her arms around you. “I was starting to think you wouldn’t come!”
“Yeah, well, we thought we’d stop by for a bit,” you replied, a smile breaking across your face. “How’s the party so far?”
“It’s awesome! They have all kinds of food, and they set up games over there!” Ellie pointed enthusiastically to a group of kids gathered around a makeshift ring toss. “Come on! You have to try it!”
Joel shifted beside you, looking a little uncertain as he surveyed the crowd. You could see the tension in his shoulders, the way he glanced around as if trying to find a safe spot. It was understandable; he’d been out of this world for so long, and while Jackson had been a haven for you, it was still new territory for him.
You squeezed his hand gently, your fingers intertwining with his as you leaned in closer. “It’s okay,” you whispered softly, catching his eye. “Just take it one step at a time. We’re in this together.”
He looked down at you, his expression softening as a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips. “Yeah, okay,” he replied, his voice steadying as he gave your hand a reassuring squeeze in return. The warmth of his touch grounded you, reminding you that despite the chaos of the world outside, you had each other.
As you moved further into the party, the inviting scents of grilled meat and baked goods filled the air, and the lively chatter began to wash over you like a warm wave. People were mingling, laughter echoed around, and for a moment, it felt like life could be normal again.
Ellie dashed off to join Dina, and you and Joel found a spot near the food table. A couple of the neighbors waved at you, smiles on their faces, and you waved back, feeling the warmth of community wash over you.
“See? Not so bad,” you said, nudging Joel gently.
He nodded slowly, but you could still see the wariness in his eyes. “Just… takes some getting used to,” he admitted, his gaze flickering over the crowd.
“Want something to eat?” you asked, trying to keep the mood light. “They have a ton of options, and I think I saw some pie over there.”
Joel chuckled softly, shaking his head. “You and your sweet tooth,” he teased, and that made you smile wider. “You sure you want me to go get it?”
“Why not?” you replied playfully, nudging him again. “It’ll give you a chance to stretch your legs. And I could use some pie—just to fuel me for the games later!”
He let out a small laugh and finally relented, giving you a nod. “Alright, I’ll grab something. Just stay close, okay?”
“Always,” you said, watching him head toward the food table. As he walked away, you felt a swell of affection for him. Despite the uncertainty, he was making the effort, and that meant the world to you.
You moved over to a nearby group of friends who were chatting and laughing, trying to embrace the festive atmosphere. You exchanged pleasantries, laughter bubbling up as stories were shared, and for a brief moment, you allowed yourself to forget about the outside world.
A few minutes later, Joel returned with a plate of food in one hand and a slice of pie in the other. He had a small smile on his face, and you felt a rush of happiness at the sight. He’d found a little comfort in this gathering, and that made everything worth it.
“Got your pie,” he said, handing it to you with a flourish, and you beamed up at him.
“Thank you, sir!” you replied playfully, taking the plate from him. You took a bite, letting the sweetness fill your mouth, and couldn’t help but moan a little at the deliciousness.
Joel chuckled, shaking his head at your exaggerated response. “You really do love that stuff,” he teased, his eyes sparkling with warmth.
You leaned closer, your heart full as you whispered, “You love me for it.”
He smiled, that genuine smile that reached his eyes. “Yeah, I reckon I do.”
As you savored the slice of pie, Maria and Tommy approached, their faces glowing with the warmth of the gathering.
“Hey there!” Maria called out, waving as she made her way over. “Looks like you two are having a good time!”
“Just indulging in some pie,” you replied, grinning. “Can’t resist a good dessert.”
Tommy chuckled, glancing over at Joel. “Looks like you’re fitting in pretty well, brother,” he said, giving Joel a playful nudge.
Joel shrugged, but the small smile on his face gave him away. “Tryin’,” he replied, looking around the festive scene.
Maria’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Ellie, who was bouncing on her toes. “Are you ready to play some games, Ellie? I think they set up a scavenger hunt over there.”
Ellie’s eyes widened with excitement. “Yes! Come on, let’s go!” Without waiting for a response, she dashed off toward the games, clearly eager to participate.
“Hey, wait up!” you called after her, laughing as you turned to Joel. “I guess we’re off to the races!”
“Go on,” Joel said, his voice a mix of encouragement and amusement. “I’ll keep an eye on Rosie. You go have fun.”
“Are you sure?” you asked, glancing down at Rosie, who was nestled peacefully in the blanket.
“Yeah, I got this,” he assured you, his tone firm yet gentle. “You enjoy yourself. I’ll be right here.”
You felt a flutter of gratitude and affection in your chest. “Okay, I’ll be back in a bit,” you promised, leaning down to place a soft kiss on Rosie’s head before you turned to join Ellie, Maria, and Tommy.
As you made your way toward the games, you could hear laughter and cheers ringing out, the atmosphere buzzing with energy. The kids had gathered around a makeshift obstacle course set up with old tires, rope swings, and a small climbing wall, and Ellie was at the front, explaining the rules with fervor.
“Okay, everyone! You have to complete the course and grab a prize at the end!” she shouted, her enthusiasm infectious.
You joined the group, cheering on the kids as they took turns navigating the course. The competitive spirit ignited, and soon you found yourself swept up in the fun, encouraging everyone to give it their best shot.
As you laughed and cheered with the kids, completely absorbed in the games, Joel’s mood began to shift. From the corner of his eye, he noticed Paul standing with a group of friends, but what caught his attention was the way Paul kept glancing in your direction, a subtle smile on his face.
Joel's jaw tightened, and the familiar surge of protective instinct kicked in. His mind raced, and those nagging voices from his past began to creep in, planting seeds of doubt and jealousy. He couldn't shake the feeling, even though he knew better. He turned toward Tommy, his voice low and edged with frustration.
“That guy, Paul,” Joel muttered, not bothering to mask the irritation in his tone. “What’s the deal with him? Why is he looking at my woman like that? Something happen between them or what?”
Tommy’s eyes widened in surprise at Joel’s bluntness, and Maria, who was standing beside them, gave Joel a look of disbelief. “Joel,” Maria said slowly, her voice firm but calm, “you’re overthinking things.”
Tommy raised his eyebrows, clearly taken aback by Joel’s sudden shift in attitude. “What the hell, man?” he asked, keeping his voice down so others wouldn’t hear. “Do you think she was enjoying your absence when you were gone?”
Joel clenched his fists at his sides, his gaze flicking back toward Paul, who was still casually chatting with his friends, seemingly unaware of the storm brewing in Joel’s mind. “Then why’s he smilin’ at her like that?” Joel pressed, his voice laced with a mix of jealousy and insecurity he hadn’t felt in a long time.
“Joel,” Tommy said, a hint of frustration creeping into his voice, “you need to chill. Paul is just friendly. He’s trying to make everyone feel welcome here.”
Maria stepped in, trying to defuse the situation. “Listen, Joel, you’re back now. That’s what matters. You have to trust her.
Joel's jaw tightened, “I trust her, not him”. the protective instinct surging within him. He couldn’t help but think about the time he’d spent away from you, the emptiness that had consumed him during those months. The thought of someone else trying to fill that void made his stomach churn. “I just don’t like how he’s looking at her,” Joel muttered, the frustration evident in his voice.
“You were just implying she had something with him when you were gone” Tommy recalled, clearly mad at his brother.
You approached the table, your heart sinking as you overheard the tension in their conversation. The mention of Paul sent a jolt of unease through you, and you felt your stomach twist. Joel's protectiveness, while understandable, was beginning to feel suffocating.
“Are you really implying that I had something with him?” you interjected, your voice steady but laced with disbelief. The three of them turned to you, surprise evident on their faces. Joel’s expression shifted from irritation to concern, his eyes widening at the realization of how his words had come across.
“No, I—” Joel started, but you raised a hand to stop him, your gaze firmly fixed on him.
“I heard it” You took a deep breath, trying to remain calm.
You reached out and gently took Rosie from Joel's arms, cradling her against you as if she were a shield from the growing tension. The moment your daughter nestled against you, her small weight grounding you, you felt a surge of emotion.
“Look, Joel,” you said, your voice a mix of frustration and hurt, “I know you’re protective. I get that. But you’re making this harder than it needs to be.” You glanced down at Rosie, brushing your thumb against her tiny cheek. “I can’t have you doubting me or our family because of some guy who-“
“Who what?” he pleaded, urging to you to say something.
“I’m going home” you said.
The words hung in the air between you, sharp and sudden. You could see the flicker of surprise in Joel's eyes, his mouth opening slightly as if he were about to protest, to argue, but you raised a hand to stop him.
“Don’t,” you said, your voice steady but trembling with the weight of your emotions. “Just… don’t.”
His jaw clenched as he watched you, the realization of what you meant beginning to sink in. “You’re seriously gonna walk out on me over this?” he asked, disbelief coloring his tone.
“I’m not walking out on you, Joel,” you replied, your heart racing. “I’m walking away from this moment. I need some air. I need to think.”
“Think about what? About me? About us?” His voice was low, laced with urgency, but there was a desperation in his eyes that made your heart ache. “You can’t just leave like this.”
“I can, and I will,” you said, your voice firm despite the tears that threatened to spill over. “I don’t want to fight, especially not in front of Rosie. It’s not fair to her or to us.”
He took a step closer, his expression shifting from disbelief to concern. “You know I didn’t mean it like that,” he said softly, his tone pleading now.
I hear what Tommy said, and if you thought that low of me...My baby needs to rest, goodbye" you say to maria and tommy and glance at joel for the last time before leaving.
With a heavy heart, you turned away, clutching Rosie closer to your chest as you made your way toward the exit. Each step felt like a weight pressing down on you, but you couldn’t stay in the atmosphere filled with unspoken words and tension.
As you walked past Maria and Tommy, you managed a tight smile, trying to keep it together for the sake of your daughter. “Take care of him,” you said quietly, your voice barely above a whisper. You could feel their worried gazes on your back as you continued onward.
“Wait!” Joel called out, but you didn’t turn around. You could hear the urgency in his voice, the underlying desperation, but you needed this space to breathe, to process everything that had just happened.
The cool air hit your face as you stepped outside, the sounds of laughter and festivities fading into the background. You walked a short distance away, finding a quiet spot where you could gather your thoughts without the weight of Joel’s piercing gaze on you.
Once you were alone, you let out a shaky breath, feeling the tears finally spill over as you sank down onto a nearby bench. Rosie stirred in your arms, and you gently rocked her, humming softly to soothe her. She was your anchor in this chaotic world, a reminder of the love that had once felt so solid between you and Joel.
“Why does it have to be so hard?” you murmured to Rosie, wiping the tears away with the back of your hand. “I just want us to be happy.”
"You're just made to be a lover" tommy spoke to Joel.
The moment Tommy’s words reached Joel’s ears, they hung in the air, echoing with a weight that only added to his frustration. “What do you mean by that?” Joel snapped, turning to his brother, his eyes narrowing in irritation.
Tommy raised his hands in a placating gesture, his expression a mix of sympathy and understanding. “I mean, look at you. You care so much about her. You always have. But sometimes, it seems like you’re letting your fears get in the way of that love.”
Joel’s jaw clenched as he ran a hand through his hair, clearly wrestling with the truth in Tommy’s words. “You think I don’t love her?” he shot back, though the defensiveness in his voice felt more like a shield against his own vulnerability.
Tommy took a step closer, lowering his voice to a calmer tone. “No, I’m saying you love her too much to let your insecurities ruin it. She’s been through a lot. She spent the last time of the pregnancy alone; she gave birth alone and you came here and implied that of her?”
“I didn’t.” Joel defended himself.
“You did, Joel,” Tommy said, frustration creeping into his voice. “You made it sound like she might’ve been unfaithful while you were gone. That’s not fair to her, especially after everything she’s been through.”
Joel’s face fell, the weight of Tommy’s words hitting him hard. “I didn’t mean it like that,” he said, his voice low and shaky. “I just… I can’t help but feel like I missed so much. I’m scared of losing her to someone else. I’ve already lost so much.”
“I get that,” Tommy replied, his tone softening. “But the way you said it? That’s not the way to show her you care. She needs you to be her rock, not a source of doubt.”
Joel clenched his fists, battling the feelings of guilt and fear that churned inside him. “I’m trying, man. It’s just hard. I spent so long thinking about her, and now I see this guy looking at her, and I can’t help but feel…”
“Jealous?” Tommy interjected. “Protective? Whatever it is, you’ve got to channel that into something positive. You don’t want to drive her away now that you’re reunited.”
“Go and talk to her before I broke your nose” maria interfered.
Joel turned to Maria, surprise flickering in his eyes. He could see the concern etched on her face, and it reminded him of just how much he had to lose if he didn’t get this right.
“Maria, I—” he started, but she shook her head, cutting him off.
“No more excuses, Joel,” she said firmly. “You need to go to her now. Don’t let your fears ruin what you’ve fought so hard to get back. Go!”
With her encouraging shove, Joel felt a surge of urgency wash over him. He glanced at Tommy, who nodded in silent support, and then turned to make his way through the gathering crowd, his heart pounding in his chest.
He arrived at home and scanned the living room for you, his eyes darting between the furniture and spotted you, sitting on the sofa with Rosie in your arms. The sight of you made his heart ache, how beautiful you looked, but how pained your expression seemed as you cradled their daughter.
Taking a deep breath, he approached, and as he got closer, he could see the small frown on your face. It felt like a kick to the gut. “Hey,” he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
You looked up, with a guarded expression. “Joel,” you replied, your tone cool but not entirely dismissive.
“I, uh… I wanted to talk,” he said, his hands instinctively moving to his hips as he tried to figure out how to say what was in his heart. “About what I said earlier.”
You glanced down at Rosie, who had just started to stir, and then back up at him, your expression a mixture of hurt and uncertainty. “What’s there to say?” you asked, your voice steady but laced with emotion.
He took a deep breath, stepping closer but maintaining a respectful distance. “I’m sorry for what I said earlier. I let my jealousy get the best of me.” He glanced down, his brow furrowing. “I shouldn’t have implied that you were unfaithful.”
Your heart ached at the sincerity in his voice, but the hurt still lingered. “You know how hard it was for me, right? I felt so alone while you were gone. I just wanted to believe everything would be okay when you returned.”
“I get that,” Joel replied, his gaze earnest as he stepped closer. “But it doesn’t excuse my behavior. You were strong while I was away.”
Your breath caught as you prepared to open up, knowing the conversation was far from over. “Joel, while you were gone… things were hard, really hard,” you began, glancing down at Rosie in your arms. The memories of those lonely nights came rushing back, and it took everything in you to keep your voice steady. “Paul… he tried to twist things, make me believe I couldn’t do this on my own. That being a mother, without you, was too much for me.”
Joel’s face tightened, his fists balling at his sides as he absorbed your words. “What are you saying?” His voice was strained, his eyes searching yours for an explanation.
“He never said anything outright, but he was always there, trying to plant seeds of doubt,” you continued, looking down at Rosie as you spoke. “He made it seem like you weren’t coming back, that you couldn’t. He’d say things like, ‘You’re strong, but no one can do this alone,’ or that maybe you’d forgotten about us out there.”
Joel’s expression darkened, the anger simmering beneath the surface, though you could tell he was fighting to keep himself in check. “He said that?”
You nodded. “It was subtle, but it was enough to make me question myself. I think part of me confused the help he was giving with something more. Like maybe, for a second, I thought he was being a friend.” You took a deep breath, forcing yourself to keep going. “But that wasn’t real. I was vulnerable, and he knew it. I was just trying to survive without you, to raise Rosie, to keep going. But I never wanted him, Joel.”
Joel’s shoulders slumped; the tension still present but mixed now with sorrow. He ran a hand over his face, clearly trying to process everything. “So, he tried to make you believe I wasn’t coming back,” he muttered, shaking his head in disbelief. “I hate that he did that. But I hate even more that you had to go through that alone.”
You sighed, feeling the weight of those lonely months lift just a little, now that the truth was out in the open. “I didn’t know how to tell you. I didn’t want to make it worse or seem like I was giving up on you. But it’s why I reacted the way I did tonight. When you questioned me like that… it brought back all those fears.”
You stood up, your heart still heavy but feeling lighter than it had in days. As you carefully laid Rosie down in her crib, her tiny chest rising and falling peacefully, you felt a moment of calm settle over you. The room was quiet, but you could feel Joel’s gaze on you, filled with regret and turmoil.
You turned back to him, hoping that this moment of truth between you had brought you closer. But as you met his eyes, you could see the storm of emotions still brewing within him. He ran a hand through his hair, frustration evident in the tense lines of his body.
Before you could say anything, Joel abruptly turned and walked toward the door.
“Joel?” you called softly, your voice uncertain.
But he didn’t stop. He reached for the doorknob and stepped outside without a word. You hurried after him, calling his name a little louder this time. “Joel, wait!”
By the time you reached the door, he was already halfway down the path, heading back toward the party. You stood at the threshold, the cool night air brushing against your skin, watching as he disappeared into the distance.
Joel marched back toward the party, his footsteps heavy with frustration and unresolved tension. The festive atmosphere was still buzzing with laughter and music, a stark contrast to the storm swirling in his mind. He pushed through the crowd, his eyes scanning for Paul. There was an urgency in his stride, a need to confront the gnawing feeling that had been eating away at him.
When he finally spotted Paul, standing near a group of people by the makeshift bar, Joel’s jaw clenched. The doctor was casually sipping from a glass, laughing at something someone had said, unaware of the brewing confrontation.
Joel approached him, his body tense, his eyes locked onto Paul. As he drew near, the noise of the party seemed to fade into the background, his focus narrowing entirely on this one man. Paul looked up, his smile faltering slightly when he noticed Joel’s intense expression.
“Hey, Joel,” Paul greeted him, his tone friendly but cautious. “Didn’t expect to see you back so soon.”
Joel didn’t waste any time. “We need to talk,” he said, his voice low and steady, but there was a dangerous edge to it. The kind that made everyone around them take a step back, sensing the tension.
Paul raised an eyebrow, clearly confused but trying to keep things light. “About what?”
Joel took a step closer, his gaze unwavering. “About what you said to her. About the things you’ve been puttin’ in her head.”
Paul blinked, his confusion deepening. “What are you talking about? I’ve only ever tried to help—”
“Help? Joel cut him off, his voice growing sharper. “You think telling her she couldn’t do it on her own, that she needed someone else—needed you—is helpin’?”
Paul’s expression shifted, the easygoing smile he usually wore fading into something more serious. “Joel, I didn’t mean it like that. I was just trying to offer support. She was struggling, and I—”
“I don’t need you explainin’ what she needed,” Joel interrupted again, his anger simmering just beneath the surface. “You don’t get to decide what’s best for her. She’s stronger than you give her credit for you don’t know what she’s capable of.”
Paul held up his hands in a placating gesture, clearly trying to defuse the situation. “Look, I was just trying to be there for her. You weren’t around, and she—”
“And that’s what I’m here for now,” Joel growled, stepping even closer until he was right in Paul’s face. “I don’t care what you thought you were doin’. Stay away from her from my girl.”
“She is your girl, but you abandoned when she was pregnant?” Paul chuckled.
“I didn’t.” Joel replied.
“Oh, come on man, I even know your daughter better than you do”
Joel’s fists clenched tighter, his entire body going rigid at Paul’s words. The implication that Paul knew his own daughter better than he did cut deeper than he’d expected. His breath came out in harsh, shallow bursts as he stepped even closer to Paul, their faces inches apart.
“You don’t know anything about me or my family,” Joel growled, his voice dangerously low. “Don’t act like you were doin’ me a favor. You think you stepped up? You think you know her? You don’t know what we’ve been through.”
Paul didn’t back down, though his face remained calm. “I was there when you weren’t, Joel. She needed someone, and I was the one who made sure she didn’t go through it alone. I’m not trying to make this harder for you, but you have to accept that things changed while you were gone. She changed. She had to.”
Joel’s chest tightened, the guilt he had been fighting against all night rising to the surface. He knew Paul wasn’t entirely wrong—he had been gone, and she had faced some of the hardest moments of her life without him. But the thought of someone else filling that space, being there when he couldn’t, made his blood boil.
“You don’t get to play that card,” Joel bit out, his voice trembling with barely contained fury. “You think just because you were there for a few months, that makes you more important to her than I am? I’ve known her longer than you ever will. And Rosie? She’s my daughter.”
Paul’s calm demeanor shifted slightly, a smirk playing on his lips as he crossed his arms. “You know, Joel,” he said, his tone infuriatingly smug, “maybe she deserves someone who was actually there for her. Someone who can protect her and Rosie. A real man.”
Joel’s breath hitched, his pulse pounding in his ears. Those words—a real man—echoed in his mind like a trigger, striking at every fear and insecurity he had buried deep down. His hands shook with the effort it took not to lash out right then and there.
“Watch your mouth,” Joel growled, his voice dangerously low, his fists twitching at his sides. He could feel the rage simmering just beneath the surface, threatening to boil over. “You don’t get to talk about what she deserves.”
Paul didn’t flinch. If anything, he seemed to grow more confident, feeding off Joel’s rising anger. “But I am talking about it. Because I care about her, Joel. I care about Rosie. Maybe more than you do. You think she needs someone like you, someone who’s always running off, disappearing? Maybe she needs stability. Someone who’s here. A real family.”
Joel’s vision tunneled, the sound of blood rushing in his ears. He took a threatening step forward, his voice barely above a whisper but filled with venom. “I swear to God, Paul. You don’t know what the hell you’re talkin’ about. I was gone because I had to be. To keep her safe. To keep them safe. You’re not part of that. You never will be.”
Paul took a deep breath, stepping closer as if testing Joel’s limits. “Maybe that’s what she’s thinking too. Maybe that’s why she hasn’t said anything to stop me. Maybe she’s realized what a real man looks like.”
Joel snapped.
In one swift movement, he grabbed Paul by the collar, pulling him close. The crowd around them gasped, the festive atmosphere suddenly charged with tension. Joel’s face was inches from Paul’s, his voice a low, menacing growl. “You don’t get to talk about her like that. Ever.”
For a brief moment, it felt like the world held its breath. Paul’s smirk faltered, and for the first time, a flicker of uncertainty crossed his face.
Before Joel could take things further, Tommy’s voice cut through the tension like a knife. “Joel! Stop!”
Tommy rushed forward, putting a hand on Joel’s arm and pulling him back, but not without effort. “This ain’t the way, man. Not here. Not like this.”
Joel released his grip on Paul, pushing him back roughly. His chest heaved with the effort to contain his rage; his fists still clenched. He glared at Paul for a long moment, every muscle in his body tense.
Paul straightened his shirt, trying to regain some of his composure, but the smugness was gone, replaced by something else—caution.
“Stay away from my family,” Joel warned, his voice ice-cold. “Or next time, we won’t be talkin’.”
With that, he turned and stormed off, leaving the party behind him, his mind a whirlwind of anger, guilt, and frustration. He had to get away—away from Paul, away from the eyes of the crowd, and away from the fear that maybe, just maybe, Paul had hit a nerve that Joel wasn’t ready to confront.
Tommy caught up to Joel, grabbing him by the arm and steering him toward the house. Joel’s anger was still palpable, his body tense as they walked, the night air doing little to cool his heated emotions.
When they finally reached the door, Tommy let out a sigh, glancing at Joel, who looked like he was ready to explode again at any moment. “Look, I know you’re pissed. But you can’t keep letting this stuff get to you,” Tommy said, his voice firm but compassionate. “Paul ain’t worth it. And neither is risking your family over some nonsense he’s spewing.”
Joel didn’t respond, his jaw tight as he reached for the doorknob. But before he could open it, Tommy stopped him, his tone more serious now. “You need to fix this, Joel. Not just with her, but with yourself. You keep pushing, and you’re gonna lose her. Don’t let that happen.”
Joel glanced at his brother, his expression conflicted, but he nodded slowly, the weight of Tommy’s words sinking in. He pushed open the door, stepping inside.
As they entered, you were sitting in the living room, cradling Rosie as you fed her. The sight of Joel and Tommy walking in together, the tension still hanging in the air, made your eyes widen. You weren’t sure what had happened, but the look on Joel’s face told you that it hadn’t been good.
Tommy shot you an apologetic glance, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. “I know you and my brother had a fight,” he said, his voice low and cautious, “but please, control him. He’s about ready to knock someone’s head off.”
Your heart sank as you looked at Joel, seeing the storm of emotions swirling behind his eyes. You sighed softly, shifting Rosie in your arms before standing up. “What happened?” you asked quietly, already dreading the answer.
Joel stood there, looking at you, the regret evident in his posture. “Nothin’ good,” he admitted, his voice rough. “I had a word with Paul. It got heated.”
Tommy let out a heavy sigh. “That’s one way of puttin’ it,” he muttered, shaking his head. “Look, I’ll leave you two to talk. But seriously, you both need to figure this out. I’ll be around if you need me.” With that, he gave you a reassuring nod and stepped out, closing the door behind him.
Now, it was just you, Joel, and the unspoken tension filling the room. Rosie cooed softly in your arms, oblivious to the weight of the moment.
“Joel,” you began softly, your voice careful. “What did he say to you?”
Joel looked at you, his eyes filled with a mix of frustration and vulnerability. “He said things… things that got under my skin. Made me feel like I’ve been failing you, like he’s been fillin’ in for me. And I just… I lost it.”
You bit your lip, the weight of his words sinking in as you studied his face. Despite the frustration and anger still simmering in him, there was a deep vulnerability beneath it all. Without saying a word, you reached out, taking his hand gently. Joel glanced down at your fingers intertwined with his, and you tugged softly, guiding him toward the sofa.
“Come on,” you whispered, leading him to sit down. Joel hesitated for a second but followed your lead, sinking into the cushions. You could feel his tension, the lingering heat from his encounter with Paul still coursing through him.
Once he was seated, you moved closer, surprising him as you sat down on his lap, your legs on either side of him. You wrapped one arm around his shoulders, your other hand brushing softly through his hair as you settled in. His arms instinctively came up to hold you, though his grip was tentative, as if he were afraid of losing control again.
You leaned in close, your forehead resting gently against his as you spoke softly, “Joel, I need you to hear me. I know you’re angry, and I know you’re hurting, but you don’t have to carry that all by yourself. You’re back and I’m still here. Rosie’s here. Ellie’s here. We’re not going anywhere.”
He looked up at you, his brow furrowed, eyes searching yours for reassurance. “I’m tryin’, but every time I think about what you went through while I wasn’t here…” He trailed off, his voice breaking slightly as the guilt washed over him.
You cupped his face with both hands, forcing him to look directly at you. “You didn’t fail me, Joel. I made it through because I had to—for Rosie, for us. And I’m still here because I want to be with you. But you have to stop letting those fears control you. Paul doesn’t matter. You do. This family does.”
He sighed, his hands tightening slightly around your waist, his body starting to relax just a little under your touch. “I hate feelin’ like I’m not enough. That someone else could step in and—”
“Nobody’s stepping in, Joel,” you interrupted firmly, your voice soft but insistent.  “Nodoby could replace you.”
He leaned his head back against the sofa, his eyes closing as he took a deep breath, as if your words were the first bit of air he’d gotten in hours. You stroked his cheek, your thumb tracing the line of his jaw, trying to soothe the storm within him.
“You have to let this go,” you whispered, leaning in closer, your lips just inches from his. “We’re here. We’re together. And nothing—no one—is going to change that.”
Joel opened his eyes, his gaze locking onto yours, a mixture of relief and lingering vulnerability flashing through them. He reached up, his hand gently brushing a strand of hair behind your ear, his touch soft and reverent. “I don’t know what I’d do without you,” he murmured, his voice low and full of emotion.
“You won’t have to find out,” you replied softly, leaning down to press your lips gently against his. The kiss was tender, full of the love and reassurance that words alone couldn’t convey.
As you pulled back slightly, your fingers traced the side of his face, your voice barely above a whisper. “Joel, he will never have the way you have me.” You said, kissing his mouth, hands hiking up his shirt. His hand moved up your back, pulling you closer as if he needed the reassurance that you were right there with him.
The kiss deepened, slow and deliberate, like he was savoring every moment. You could feel the tension in him slowly dissolving, replaced by something warmer, more certain. His fingers brushed through your hair, his other hand resting gently on your waist, holding you steady as the kiss grew more intense.
“I want you” you whispered against his mouth, then down his jawline, neck collarbone as his hands squeezed your waist as an answer.
“Please, have me” he replied, his voice hoarsed in a whimper.

im quite literally in class rn but the jason brain rot is going so strong, so all i can think of is trying to convince Jay to stay home from patrol for just one(1) night because he's working too hard
like you barely see him anymore cuz he's either out running around as Red Hood or passed the fuck out in bed throughout the day, and just having enough of it and just like, getting down and giving him the absolute best head of his life to convince him to stay in (and he does, but only because he's literally physically unable to afterwards, like legs shaky and eyes glazed over, maybe just a little bit subby too?) ughhh god i need him so baddd 😭
- your friendly neighbourhood 🦊
after too many days i'm back, i've been too low on inspiration and i hate that but i read again this today while i was at work and i GIGGLED TOO HARD, 🦊 noonie i'm gonna find you (and kiss your brain) soooo as an apology for being off a few days, here we have a slightly long smutty thing with my sweet pretty boy jay <3
it's been probably over a month since jason only came back home to pass out on the bed, he barely woke up to eat something and do one or another stuff, even bruce was a bit worried about his health but he didn't pushed on it further.
once again night falls and jay is getting all geared up on your room, tactical pants, boots and that black compression shirt that always made your mouth water on when you came in, a small pout on your lips at the sight of your too tired boyfriend "jay... you look like you could use a night off" your voice is soft and so tempting for jason, because the idea of cuddling next to you and rest seemed to be what he needed more than anything.
"princess, you know i can't do that" jason sighs, there's a glimpse of want on his eyes and it's everything your brain needs to come up with a method to convince him and you are 90% sure it will work so it takes you less than a second to walk to him, letting yourself fall to the floor right between his legs.
the sight from that point is even more encouraging because jason looks so much intimidating like that, even when he frowns totally confused at your actions "but you work way too much, jay" and he knows what you're up too so his look changes from questioning to warning and oh, if it doesn't turn you on more because you know that you have the power to turn him into a puddle "you can stay home tonight, i can call dick to tell him you're sick and that you need to rest" your head lays on his thigh as one of your hand traces softly his stomach, fingers trailing over his abs while your eyes look into his.
"sweetheart, i can't do that–" jason starts, he sounds like he's having the hardest time of his life trying to tell you 'no' and it is as your fingers start to undo the buttons of his pants and his belt, caressing him over his boxers and feeling him reacting to your touch. there's a soft growl that escapes his lips, making you sit properly on your knees and looking up at your boyfriend for him to give into your (and his) needs just for him to move so you can pull his pants down enough to see his cock grow harder under your subtle strokes.
"you need to rest, at least one night" there's that pout on your lips again and that innocent tone that he doesn't buy because how could he when you start to slide your hand under his boxers and smile when his hard shaft is completely at your mercy, hand going up and down before you lean in to press a playful kiss on his tip, it sends a jolt through his spine and he can't help the low moan that slips past his lips when your tongue traces his length before taking the head between your lips.
it's always easy for jason to get lost on how good you make him feel, even when it comes to the times he needs to do something important so here he is, one of his hands on the back of your head while you suck slowly on him not taking in too much, your hand traces the veins on the bottom of his cock before stroking it "god damn, baby... you look so good on your knees for me" his voice is hoarse and he tries to pull you down on him just to be met with a playful look from you.
"c'mon, let me do this by myself" you speak, your lips shiny as you smile at jason, his dick pressed against your cheek and he nods "that's a good boy" and the way he swallows hard makes you chuckle before your mouth wraps around his shaft. jason keeps his hands next to his legs, the way you called him a good boy made him feel like he could cum just with your touch but it would have been pretty pathetic so he holds back. his eyes are fixed on the way your head bobs, the lewd noises your mouth makes everytime his head touches your throat and he has to resist the urge to fuck your face.
there's a pop that comes out of your lips when you let go of his cock, hand still fisted around him while you pull down the front of your sleeveless top, tits spilling out for him to look. the moan that escapes his lips is unholy when you put his dick between your breasts, tongue playing with his slit while you stroke him like that and he feels in heaven "you look so good like that, baby..." your words are sweet, he loves the way it feels because he could melt right there and it's what he needs to forget about anything else. he whimpers at the second you smirk, pulling away to grab hold of him and spitting on his shaft before taking it into your mouth again, this time sucking and licking on it with more urge.
you can feel him throb on your tongue, making you pull away again "such a pretty boy, aren't you? need to cum, baby? go ahead, good boys deserve to be rewarded" you coo him right before your mouth is wrapping him again and he can't help it this time, thrusting into your throat in a needy move before you can feel him shooting his load in a whiny moan, he looks so pretty like that and it makes you want to keep making him squirm.
it takes you nothing to stand up and go sit on his lap, his body trembles under your touch and the load you've been holding on your mouth falls over your tits when you open your mouth and stick your tongue out before you pull his head towards your breasts "feel better now, baby?" you ask with a small smirk when jason hums in response, his mouth too busy on one of your nipples as he sucks while looking at you from under his eyelashes, pretty green eyes glazed as he whines softly "wanna stay home for tonight?"
"yes, mommy..." he can barely speak without sounding too slurred from how tired he felt from all the extra work and the head you just gave him.
"fine, i'll call dick to tell him you're sick"

Warnings: smut hints, age gap (the usual for this sexy old man lmao)

How did he let this happen? He knew it was a terrible idea, to let her tempt him into her bed.
But here he was, arms wrapped around her as she slept soundly. God, she looked so pretty, he thought as he watched her. Her chest steadily rising and falling as she slept, back pressed against his chest. His fingers were laced through her own, feeling every time she slightly flexed them in her sleep.
He looked past her, at the red numbers flashing on her alarm clock. Slowly and carefully, Fernando attempted to untangle himself from her. He wriggled his fingers from between her own and pulled back.
A cross between a whine and a groan left her lips when Fernando pulled away. "Where are you going?" She asked, voice croaky and her eyes not quite open.
He dropped a kiss onto her cheek. "I need to go," he whispered.
She turned in the bed to face him, the expression on her face furious. "Stay," she commanded. If he had been wearing any clothes, she would have grabbed his shirt to keep him in the bed with her.
Fernando looked past her, looked at her alarm clock once again. It was a risk, but she was worth it. "Five more minutes, Bichito." (Bug)
The minute he said it, she climbed her way on top of him, legs settling on either side of his hips. "Let's make the most of it, then," she whispered and dipped down, crashing her lips against his own.
***
Fernando watched as the daughter of the wealthy business man sipped her ice coffee. Round sunglasses covered her eyes and she had one leg crossed over the other. He couldn't deny that she looked good.
But she wasn't looking at him. That would have been unprofessional of them.
That didn't stop her from speaking to him. "What if I went on a holiday somewhere?" She asked and sipped at her drink. Although she wasn't looking at him, it was so damn clear she was talking to him.
"Where would we go, Bichito?" He asked, his gaze forward.
She shrugged her shoulders, and Fernando just about caught it out of the corner of his eye. "Somewhere private. Somewhere that nobody would bother us. Somewhere it could just be you and I."
Fernando couldn't stop the smile from gracing his features for just a second. Somewhere it could just be the two of them. That sounded amazing. Actually, there was nothing more that Fernando wanted.
She finished her drink, ice rattling as she stirred them slightly. But then she stood and began walking away from the café. Fernando fell into step just a few paces behind her. If he had been a weaker man, he would have let that distract him. Would have let the sight of her walking, the way her hips swayed from side to side, to distract him.
But Fernando was used to it by now. After the first time she managed to pull him between her sheets, she did what she could to try and pull his attention while he was working. Out and about, Fernando kept it under control. But the moment they were alone, he had her pressed against the wall, lips desperate against her own.
And that was what happened this time. He got her back to the family own, got her into her room, and trapped her against the door, his hands exploring her body.
The body he knew so well by now. He knew every dimple, every curve, every mole like the back of his hand. He knew every inch of her.
And that was wrong. It was so damn wrong. Fernando was forty and she was at least fifteen years his junior. No matter how hard he tried to stay away, he just couldn't.
His forehead was against her own, fingers brushing against her cheek. "Mi amor," he whispered and kissed her once. "Mi corazón," he whispered again and kissed her again.
"Nando," she whispered, fingers moving through his hair before she hooked them over his shoulders.
He held her chin, thumb gently pulling down his bottom lip. A noise was released from her throat, a desperate one that had him chuckling. "I'll take care of you." His hands moved to her hips and he pulled her away from the door, laying her on the bed.
It was wrong, so wrong, but Fernando couldn't stay away.

─────────────────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ────────────────────
You sit next to Mike on the couch as you down the last bit of your coffee.
"You know, I think I'd like to use one of my favors." You smirk and put a hand on his leg as you set your mug down.
"O-oh yeah?" Mike stutters out lamely, attention immediately pulled away from whatever stupid show you turned on the T.V.
"Yeah."
Mike yelps softly as you squeeze his thigh, but doesn't make any moves to stop you. Damn it, you know exactly how to push his buttons. You always did.
"What exactly do you want from me?" He narrows his eyes at you, brow furrowing as he desperately pretends he doesn't like to be toyed with.
"What do you think I want, Mikey?"
Mike's eyes go wide as your hand inches up his thigh, but he swallows and returns the sass.
"Why don't you tell me yourself, Princess?"
You huff and shift on the couch, throwing yourself across his lap dramatically. Your back arches from the way you're laying on his legs, and you stare up at him with a pout.
"Just take me to bed already."
Mike does just that, hooking one arm under your back, and the other under your knees. He fucking princess carries you. That's new.
"Damn, you been working out?" You tease him, feeling up his bicep with one arm as you hook the other around his neck for support. He doesn't look especially muscular, hell, he doesn't feel muscular either. Of course, that could be because of the soft hoodie he's wearing.
"What do you think?" He swings you around to face the bench press in the corner of his bedroom as he nudges the door closed with his foot. You'd never seen him actually use the damn thing, but... well, he was carrying you fairly easily.
"I think you've missed me." You look up at him, eyes trailing down to his lips.
"I'm just doing you a favor, sweetheart." He tosses you on the bed before you can get that kiss you were thinking about.
"You mean you're just doing me."
"As a favor."
His stubbornness irks you, and you crawl over next to him as he sits on the edge of the bed.
"Here, let me help." You grab his leg and start taking off his sneaker. Mike's a little confused, but he lets it happen. You take the other one off as well, then wave a dismissive hand at him as you start untying his laces.
"You can take off the rest yourself."
"Fuck are you doing with my shoes?" He grumbles as he removes his hoodie and shirt.
You don't bother to answer him, and when he looks over again he realizes you're completely un-lacing his shoes.
"I need the laces."
"Do I even want to know why?" He scoffs and starts to undo his belt and shimmy out of his jeans, leaving him in just his boxers.
"Oh, you'll find out. Lie down and wait."
Mike stays put, scowling. However, It's a little hard to feign annoyance when he's, well, a little hard. He finally gives in when he realizes you're not gonna throw him any hints, and sighs as he scoots back on the bed.
"Good boy." You tease him, finally pulling the 2nd lace completely free of his shoe.
He groans, but makes no effort to stop you as you climb up on him in a straddling position. He only wishes you'd taken your shorts off first. Oh well. Not like they're covering much, anyways.
"I'm going to regret this, aren't I?"
"Not as much as you'd regret not doing this."
Mike can't argue with that. So, he doesn't try. He wraps a hand around the back of your neck and pulls you in for a kiss. His other hand finds its way to your lower back and he gives a little tug down, silently begging you to lower yourself onto him.
"Mmmph... nngh..." When the gentle tugging doesn't work, he tries whining, but everything comes out muffled with your tongue practically down his throat. He's not usually the type to just take what he wants, but damn it, he might try it soon if you keep tormenting him.
"What was that, Mikey?" You pull away from the kiss and sit up on him, finally making contact with the twitching hard-on in his boxers.
He's already breathless from the kiss, and now that he can feel you... he can't even talk. You've broken him already. He just pants and looks up at you with those big brown puppy eyes of his.
"Use your words." You scold him, and adjust yourself on top of him to brush up against him. When that doesn't get him to talk, you gently trail your nails down his chest with both hands. That really gets him going.
"Please." He hates begging. He hates this. Wasn't HE supposed to be doing YOU? And yet, here he is, already melting.
"Please what?"
"Please just do whatever-the-fuck you want." He sighs and goes limp, letting his arms drop to the bed as he tries to get his breathing under control. All that kissing made his brain go fuzzy.
"Thank you. I will."
Mike practically growls as you lean down and bite him in the crook of his neck. It quickly turns to a whimper when you start rocking your hips as well, grinding into him with those infuriatingly tiny shorts.
"Shh... Abby's asleep, remember?" Shit. The last thing he wanted to think about right now was his little sister in the room across the hall. You were right though, the walls here are thin. Mike nods and bites the inside of his cheek to quiet himself, then tugs desperately at your hips. He wants you to keep going. He needs you to keep going.
"Aww, you're so worked up already." You can't feel much through your shorts and his boxers, but you can tell his moves are getting desperate. After a minute or so of biting all down his neck and grinding on him, you decide to switch things up before he explodes.
"Fuuuuck." Mike lets out a low groan as you climb off of him. He tries to pull you back down by the hips, but you swat his hands off. No fair.
"Here, gimmie." You take his wrist and hold his arm up, fiddling with something. Before he can even process what's happening, his wrist is tied to the bedpost. Is that... his shoelace? He's not sure whether he should laugh or try and get out while he can.
"You're an evil woman." He groans, but doesn't even try to pretend he doesn't like this. Not with it literally jumping in his boxers.
"This evil woman misses your tongue, Mikey." You tsk at him quietly as you tie up his other wrist. Tight. Damn it, that's gonna hurt later.
"Fuck... sit on my face."
"What was that?" You look down at him with a smirk as you slip out of your shorts and panties, kicking them to the floor.
"Sit on my face." He repeats. "Please."
"Only because you asked so nicely."
Mike nearly dies right there when he feels your thighs wrap around the sides of his head. You aren't quite on his face, instead choosing to sit up on the top of his chest. It's still enough to drive him mad. Damn it, he shouldn't enjoy this so much.
"I... You're so..." He looks up at you, his usual scowl replaced with that dreamy expression you only ever got to see in times like this.
"So what, Mikey?" You prompt him, running your fingers through his dark brown curls with a hand. "Hm?"
"Sooooo mean." He closes his eyes and groans, leaning back into your hand as you play with his hair.
"I wanna be meaner. Suffocate you a little."
"Evil woman." His eyes twinkle as he looks up at you again, unable to hide how eager he is.
Laughing softly, you lift your hips and position yourself over his face. Much to your amusement, his arms tug at the restraints. Has he forgotten he's tied up?
"Hold still." You scold him, carefully lowering yourself. His stubble tickles a bit, but it's a familiar feeling. This isn't your first rodeo, especially not with him.
Mike already has his tongue out before you even touch his face. Honestly, he probably wants this more than you do at this point, even if you are the most infuriating person in his life. He moans when you finally make contact, surprised at just how wet you are. Damn it. You really do love toying with him.
"Shush. No moaning."
Mike whimpers a bit when you scold him, and starts bucking his hips into the air. God, he wishes his hands were free. He can't even bring himself to beg for it, too absorbed in you.
"Fuck, right there." You start to buck your hips slightly as well, grinding onto his face. His tongue is hitting just the right spot, and he fuckin' knows it. Bastard.
As soon as you give him that little sliver of praise, he loses it. Completely. He's a desperate, writhing mess beneath you, pulling against his restraints and thrusting up into the void while he eats you out like he's starved.
With one hand gently pulling his hair, and the other clinging to the headboard to steady yourself, you rock your hips. This earns you another low moan from Mike, and while the vibrations feel amazing against your clit, he needs to shut the fuck up.
"Quiet, or I'll fuckin' gag you." You hiss, yanking his hair a little harder for a moment to make a point. He returns to whimpering, for now.
God, you missed this. Mike Schmidt was a jackass, but he was a jackass that knew exactly how to make you squirm. In fact, you were squirming now. Fuck.
"I'm almost... mmm.... Mike..."
Fuck, now you're moaning his name?
Mike wants to grab your hips and pull you down into his face harder, but his hands are restrained.
He wants to grab himself and finally get off, but again, restraints.
He wants to moan, but you're threatening to gag him.
He wants to keep you in this bed with him forever, but he can tell you're close, and pretty unlikely to stick around afterwards. Even if you could be convinced, he's too stubborn to ask.
He wants to taste your cum. So he does.
"Fuuuuuck." You turn into a trembling mess on his face, your legs going weak as he licks and sucks in just the right way. He knows your body so well.
"Nngh, Mike, stop." You lift your hips, leaving him licking at the air for a moment.
"God, that was..."
Mike watches as you scoot back to sit on his chest again, and feels your thighs gently squeeze his face. When you run both hands through his hair as well, he's in heaven. He doesn't need you to say he did a good job to know he did well. He can tell by the way you caress him, and the slick dripping down his chin. He smiles at the glazed over look in your eyes, and he's sure.
"Did I earn the right to use my arms again, Princess?"
That little smug comment breaks you out of your trance. Bastard.
"Yeah, yeah. One minute." You sigh and stare down at his face. Poor boy is wrecked, your mess all over him.
Mike's eyes go wide as he watches you take off your little white tank top, your only remaining piece of clothing. He only gets a brief look at your tits before you swipe it across his face, cleaning him up.
"Hey, I was gonna eat that." He teases, staring up at your chest with hunger in his eyes.
"Yeah, well, you still can." You chuckle and stuff the tank top in his stupid smug mouth, a makeshift gag for what's to come. or cum. hah.
Mike can't help but be annoyed with you. He's clearly going insane with how badly he needs to cum, he just worked so hard to finish YOU off, and his wrists hurt. And what do you do? Gag him. Wonderful.
As soon as you finish untying one of his wrists, Mike uses his newly freed hand to yank the gag out.
"What was that for?" He scowls, reaching to untie his other wrist himself as you crawl on top of him.
"You're loud when you cum. Put it back in and bite down or you're not getting any."
He rubs his wrists and looks at the woman straddling his legs so confidently. If you'd just scoot up a little, you'd be where he really wants you, right on his cock. But he figured that probably wasn't going to happen.
"You're infuriating." He willingly shoves the gag back in his mouth, attempting to scowl through a mouthful of cotton. All his anger melts away when you tug his boxers down and finally wrap your hand around his dick. He shudders. Fuck, he's not gonna last long.
"Just let it out, Mikey." You coax him, using a soothing voice and quick hand to finish him off. He bucks his hips up into you and whimpers through the gag, eyes rolling back into his head. Precum drips from him almost immediately, and you smile. He definitely had fun.
After hardly a minute of pumping, he explodes all over his stomach and chest. Fuck, some even gets on his neck. You laugh and make a show of licking your fingers clean, eyeing him up and down.
When Mike's eyes finally flutter open, he almost gets hard again. He tries to let the image of you straddling him, completely naked, and sucking his cum off your fingers soak into his brain. He wants it burned into his eyes, Christ. Why did he ever let someone so hot get away from him?
"That was fast."
Oh, right, because she's a total witch.
"You told me to let it all out."
"Mhm. And now look at you. A mess."
Mike props himself up on his elbows and snorts.
"Gonna lick me clean too, sweetheart?"
"Nope."
God, why did he even ask? He lies back down on the bed, sexually satisfied, but mentally and physically exhausted. He hardly registers you climbing out of bed until he hears his bathroom door close.
A few minutes later, you return and toss him a rag. It's warm and damp.
"Clean yourself up, you're a big boy." You taunt him while you slip back into your shorts and panties.
Mike sighs but accepts the rag and starts to wipe himself down.
You reach for your tank top, lying discarded at the edge of the bed. Then you remember you used it to wipe up... hm. Probably best not to wear it.
"I'm stealing a shirt." You announce, turning to rifle through his dresser. Is this the shirt drawer? No, this one?
"Keep the tank-top. Free souvenir."
"Stealing? Not borrowing?" Mike scoffs, sliding his boxers back up.
"Yep. Can I take this one?" You turn and hold up a faded grey shirt with a cheesy pun on it.
"No. I like that one."
"Oookay... what about this one?"
"No. Sentimental value."
"This?"
He's tempted to keep denying you, if only to see you shirtless for longer. Damn, if you hadn't tied up his wrists he would have been all over those...
"Mike? Can I have this one?" You repeat, annoyed.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. Sure." He grumbles, turning away in an attempt to hide his blush. It was stupid. He just ate you out, and he blushes at the sight of boobs?
You chuckle to yourself as you throw on his shirt. It smells like him. Or at least, smells like his detergent.
・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・
"Hope you had as much fun as I did, Mikey." You lean against his bedroom door, preparing to leave.
"You don't wanna stay for a bit?" Damn it. He sounded pathetic, begging his ex to stay. This was just a favor to you, a quick release. He couldn't help but try, though.
"Hm. Don't you have to take Abby to school?"
Mike glances at the digital alarm next to his bed. Shit. They're definitely running late now.
"...Yeah. I'll, uh, see ya?"
"You promised to get a new babysitter this weekend."
He swallows, heart sinking into his stomach. Yeah, he did say that, didn't he?
"Right. Yeah."
An awkward silence lingers in the air for a few moments, so you clear your throat and speak up.
"You wanna walk me out?"
・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・
After quickly shuffling into some shorts and a t-shirt, Mike walks you to the front door and unlocks it for you while you gather your things. His heart wrenches at the sight of you in his shirt, though he tries not to show it. That sort of thing would usually mean you're his. But you aren't. Not anymore.
"Tell Abby I said good luck in her witching endeavors."
"Will do."
He watches you leave, and the exhaustion finally crumples him. Fuck, Abby's just gonna have to miss the first few hours of school today. He needs a nap. Or a medically induced coma.

Author's note: This was my first time writing smut so uh hope y'all enjoy. This series is also my first attempt at fanfiction in general. I'm so excited to write the last chapter! Sorry to end on a sad note. I love angst. Sad little babygirl Mike. <3 <3
Also, is tying Mike up with shoelaces very realistic? Probably not. But it's hot. And I can't imagine he keeps bondage stuff.
Edit: Part 4

omgg last night I dreamed about supeeer cute soft dom george being very affectionate and giving making love to reader making her forget all her insecurities whispering in her ear a lot of worship, it's my first request and don't speak English very well but I'm here hehe love ya!
GUYS IM ALIVE HOLY FUCK BALLS !!! Anyway HEHEHHEHE evil laughter back to my mischievousness (mental illness). Also I LOVE YOU TOO
-
Era: 1965 cuz i feel like it
Tumblr media
Audible moan.
-
You had been feeling extremely insecure ever since you got back from the opening of the the Beatles new movie, “Help!” You saw how in the newspapers they were saying incredibly cruel things about you, especially about how tight your black dress was when you wore it to the premiere. It was, “Name the Beatles wife with the worst taste?” Or “That dress certainly doesn’t look flattering on her!” Like it was some joke. You felt tears brim your eyes just thinking about it. You’d constantly look in the mirror and pinch at your stomach and thighs, you just couldn’t understand why you couldn’t be as beautiful as Jane or Maureen or Cynthia.
“Love, I’m back! Love? What’s wrong?” George said, he had just gotten back from a meeting about an upcoming album, so he unfortunately couldn’t take you along since it was a private meeting, not a public one. You were laying on your shared bed crying, with a newspaper at your side. The one that completely wrecked your self esteem. George caught on and picked up, in complete anger, he ripped the newspaper up and threw it in the trash.
“Absolute bloody rubbish! I hate those damn newspapers, y/n, come ‘ere love.” He said, quite angry, but gentle once he called your name. He couldn’t believe someone could say that about his wife. He thought you were the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on. How could anyone not agree? They must be blind.
“Love, don’t listen to those bloody bastards, you are the most beautiful and lovely woman I ever laid eyes and have ever met. If they don’t believe that, then they must not have eyes.” He whispers in your ear, playing with your hair. Your tears at this point subsided and you looked up at him, he gave you a grin and kissed your forehead. You know this probably wasn’t the best timing, but you just couldn’t resist when he looks at you with nothing but pure love in his eyes.
“George, could you maybe show me how beautiful I am?” You say quietly, George winks at you in a joking manner and wiggles his eyebrows which make you giggle. George slowly positioned you to get you to lay on your back while he slowly got on top of you.
“I mean it when I say you look stunning in anything.” He whispers, playing with the hem of your black night gown, it was short and only went down to almost the end of your inner thighs. He looked at you for permission and you nodded, as he slowly lifted up your night gown, leaving completely exposed. You usually didn’t bother with under garments when you were going to sleep, you just didn’t feel the need for it.
“You amaze me every time, y’know that?” He praised, as his hands went to your breasts as he pulled you into a passionate kiss, leaving you breathless. George lifted himself up to take off his black long sleeve shirt and the pair of black pants he wore with it, as he went back down to kiss your neck, he hand slowly wandered down to your core, lightly rubbing causing you to whimper. George grinned at the sound, George loved nothing more than when you made noises for him, he doesn’t even really care when it comes to him getting off it’s just as long as you do he’s good.
“Can I?” He asks, his fingers nearing and circling your hole, you nod frantically as he giggles at your reaction, he slowly inserts two fingers into you. You bite your lip and throw your head back into the pillows with the intrusion. But you couldn’t lie, his fingers do wonders. He slowly thrusts them in and out as he watches you whimper and moan, he usually never goes fast unless you tell him to, he’s just never really been that kind of person. Whereas someone like John is the complete opposite.
“F-faster, George!” You moan out, causing George to kiss and suck on your neck harder than he did before as he went faster, your juices starting to seep down to the sheets as the noises coming from your core begin to echo through out the room. You felt the tightness and heat in your belly about to burst and you knew that only meant one thing.
“George-I’m-“ you couldn’t even finish your sentence as you felt as if you were sitting stars as your orgasm hit. George never wanted to admit it, but he absolutely adored when you orgasm your a shaking and moaning mess for him, you look absolutely wrecked just from his fingers.
“Are you ready? Do you need a minute?” He asks, one thing to note about George, is that he is huge on consent, he would never, ever, do something that you didn’t like or something that he thought could hurt you. It would break him into a million pieces if that happened.
“Yes, please!” You say shakily, George nods as he kissed your forehead, slowly lining himself up and entering you.
“You’re always so good for me, always. No one could ever compare.” He whispers lovingly, kissing your earlobe as he slowly thrusts in and out of you.
“Your noises are to die for, you are to die for, i can’t get enough of you.” George loved praising you during sex, he always took pride in doing so.
“G-George, please.” You whisper, George looks up at you, with a questioning face.
“Please, faster! Please!” You moaned out, George gave you a smile and kissed your cheek as he went faster, but not too fast, just slightly faster than the pace he was going. You moan out as he brings his fingers down to your clit and rubs circles round it, making your legs shake. You could feel your orgasm getting closer and creeping up on you like it was the grim reaper.
“George! Im gonna cum, please!” You cried out, all the worry, sadness, and insecurities you were experiencing early had completely disappeared. They were nowhere to be found. George always managed to make your worries and fears go away, it’s like he was magic. But to be fair, he pretty much was.
“Aw, come on pretty girl, cum on me, go on.” George groaned, feeling his own orgasm creep up on him, and before you know it, it wasn’t before too long both of you came together. You were shaking and moaning for quite a bit even after he pulled out and kissed your face all over. George laid on his side and brought the covers over both of you.
“Did that make you feel any better?” George asked, his hand holding yours, you look up at him with a smile.
“What was I upset about again?”

MAIN MASTERLIST | BNHA MASTERLIST | TAGLIST
Tumblr media
— ☾⋆⁺₊🧨💢✧ KATSUKI BAKUGO !
simp
he couldn’t believe his fucking eyes
there you were, sitting like an actual goddess before him, all cuddled up under the sun readin’ yo favorite book
mans has neva felt more blessed in his life nigga crying and shit
he originally came in to bother you cuz he was bored but now all he worried about is getting a damn camera-
“hey, angelface!-….” “yes, kats?” “….” “..kats? baby?" *he stomps off into the distance* "katsuki! is something wrong, why are you stomping away!?” “WHERE IN THE FUCK IS THE CAMERA DAMN IT?!”
my mans said he needed a polaroid so he can keep that shit in his wallet cause that's exactly where that picture is going
tbh, he already has a different pictures for both his lockscreen and homescreen on both his phone and laptop but rested assured, he gon get that picture !
once he got the picture, he couldn’t stop looking at it (believe this: he flashes his wallet to show off that picture to girls who hit on him with the biggest smirk, "im already taken! now piss off.")
“you know the real thing is over here, baby” *cue the blush* “shut up, dummy”
— ☾⋆⁺₊🌟🫨✧ MIRIO TOGATA !
it went something like this
he walked in with a “hey, sunshine!”, looked up, saw you in bed in yo bonnet and his big shirt, scrolling on yo phone under the sun and froze
your skin just glistening and shining- he could have sworn that one of the angels came down to visit him in the form of you
problem is…he hasn’t moved in the last 2 minutes
“mirio…mirio…mirio, baby, BLINK!!” “huh?” “damn boy, did you meet Jesus while you was gone?” “why would I do that when I have a goddess right in front of me?”
being as black as you are, you could have SWORE that yo cheeks started to heat up from that comment and he is so proud for his quick thinking
“shut up, cheese ball” “but sunshine~ you love me and my cheesiness” “…unfortunately”
he eventually joined you in bed and just laid in your lap, looked up at you with a goofy look on his face
he spends the rest of his time admiring you, even after the sun went down
goofy ass nigga- i love him so much
— ☾⋆⁺₊🪶🪽✧ KEIGO TAMAKI / HAWKS !
i’m gon clown him a little
aight, birds like glittery things…he’s a bird man…your melanin looks like jewels under the sun…i have connected the dots
no but seriously, he just saw you sitting there and was instantly pulled in
you were laying on his couch trying to take a nap under the sun cause let’s be honest, the sun is soothing as fuck on melanated skin
he had just out the shower and was in sweatpants gray and no shirt YUM
he just really loved how relaxed you were that i gave him a sense of pride to know you felt safe enough in his home
i can imagine him being a lil paranoid that you deem his house safe enough to hang out with so you spending your time just visiting or staying over night made him feel really happy
“comfortable there, dove? you know there’s a bed, right?” “i like the sun, keigo. It feels nice.” “if you say so, baby.”
ain’t no more room on the couch for him and his humongous ass wings to join you, so he settles for taking a seat on the coffee table and taking a couple of pictures of you looking so peaceful
"stop snapping pictures of me, creep." "aw, you'll hurt my feelings, baby" "im tryna sleep and your phone is distracting with that loud ass clicking sound" "sorry but i need a new background picture to switch out the old one" "yea yea whatever" "just go back to sleep" "stop taking pictures of me" "no ❤"
he put it as his computer background and the lock screen on his phone
bonus: he took a of video of him stroking your face in your sleep and you leaned in to it. in the background if you listen closely, you can hear him say “my baby is so beautiful🥺” "kei, baby, lemme sleep" "alright, love ❤"
i will fucking CRY
— ☾⋆⁺₊🐈‍⬛☕✧ SHOTA AIZAWA / ERASERHEAD
i don’t think he would be up enough to catch you at golden hour
but after the one time he did, he took a mental note to do it more often
you looked so ethereal- he didn't even know he could feel so relaxed just by looking at something
you were sitting in the corner of bed where the suns rays come, reading something on yo phone and just looking completely relaxed in life
he just stopped at the doorway, where you couldn’t really see him and leaned against the door frame, softly smiling at your relaxed figure
“she looks so peaceful…how did I get so lucky?” this was the moment he felt like he hit the lottery
however when you did notice him, you nearly jumped out yo skin
“OH SHIT!! AIZAWA?!?!” “yes?” “HOW LONG YOU BEEN STANDING THERE!?!- WHY DIDN’T YOU SAY SOMETHING!?!” “sorry-”, he chuckles, “-you just looked so peaceful, i didn’t want to interrupt.” “that’s sweet, honey…but don’t you eva scare me like that again.” “yes ma’am”
y’all ended up taking a nap together
after that he just always seem to find you at this time or somehow put you in sun’s rays just so he could admire you
bonus: he took polaroid pictures of you sleeping at golden hour and carries them with him. class 1-A found out about it and teased him about for weeks (which lead to brutally training for weeks on end, them stubborn ass kids would nawt let it go.)

Can you please write a wrio reader fic where reader is just absolutely exhausted from a long day of work? like right when they walk in the door eyes are heavy, zombie, practically ready to pass out from exhaustion, sore back, just wants to cry to be honest. even more since they hate their job.
Damn, I feel this with my job. And if I had wrio to come home to, I'd die a happy woman. I hope Wrio doesnt seem oc in this. This is just what I think he'd be like as a comforting boyfriend cuz he is the best boyfriend. I also hope this isn't cringy. Ngl, I sorta got a bit teary eyed writing this cuz it made me think about how stressed I get from my own job and college classes and I would love to have Wrio comfort me when I come home ;-;
~warnings: comfort, a bit of angst, mentions of crying, Wrio calls reader 'dear, love', gn!reader.
~
The door of Wriothesley's office creaks open and slams shut. Slow, heavy footsteps tread up the stairs. Turning his head towards the stairs, he sees you. He notices the exhausted look on your face, too tired to even bother greeting him. He can tell from that that you had a bad day. You trudge over to the couch in his office, drop your items on the floor and fall on the cushions below, face first. He stifles a chuckle from watching your adorable actions.
He quietly scoots his chair back and walks over to the couch to check up on you. Taking a seat on the table in front of the couch, he places a hand on the back of your head, stroking your hair to comfort you. "Bad day?" You don't even have the energy to answer. All you can do is slightly nod your head. He continues to stroke your hair, knowing that's one of your favorite ways to feel better. "Want to talk about it?"
You take a second to respond, debating whether or not you really want to talk about it. It'll just be the same old rant about how you hate your job, how customers suck, how your back hurts, and all those negative things in your life. You feel guilty for always complaining your boyfriend's ear off, thinking he probably gets tired of it. Not wanting to burden him anymore, you shake your head no. "You sure? I'm always happy to listen to your worries and problems." He says as his hand moves down to rub your back in comfort.
His kind nature makes your heart skip a beat, so grateful to have someone like him in your life. Although, it makes you happy, you just want to cry. The stress from work and your worries of being a bad s/o to your wonderful boyfriend is what causes you to just break down and cry. You quietly cry but he can feel your body slighty shake. "What's wrong my love?" You don't reply. All you do is shake your head and cry.
"Come here." He gently grabs a hold of you, urging you to get up and sit on his lap so he can hold you. He effortlessly picks you up and has you straddle his lap. He holds your head to his chest, rubbing your back as he tries to shush you. "Shh, it's okay. Let it out if you need to." His shirt gets soaked from your tears, but he doesn't care. He just wants you to feel better and if letting you cry into his shirt helps you, then he'd let you ruin all of his shirts.
After a while, you begin to calm down, the sound of your sniffles and cries decreasing. "Did that help?" You nod your head while still keeping your face in his chest. "Sorry Wrio." He cups your face and moves it away from his chest so he can see your face. "You have nothing to apologize for. I'm always here for you." He says as he looks deeply into your eyes, thumb stroking your cheek. You give him a small smile which he returns with his own gentle smile.
"So. Is there anyone I need to 'talk' to?" You recognize his implication and chuckle a bit. "No, just a stressful day. Just being here with you as you hold me is good enough for me." You lean your forehead against his and give him a eskimo kiss. "I'm glad. Now, how about I make you some tea?"
"In a bit. I just want you to keep holding me and stay like this for a while longer. Please."
"Of course my love." He gives you a short, sweet kiss on your lips. You nuzzle your face into the crook of his neck, getting comfortable on his lap. His arms wrap around you, holding you tight and leaves a kiss on your head. "Um Wrio." He hums in response, acknowledging you. "Can you..stroke my hair again, please?" You ask shyly, blush covering your cheeks. He chuckles. "Of course my dear."
Keeping one arm wrapped tightly around your waist, he brings the other one up to your hair, stroking and combing his fingers through the soft strands. "Thank you Wrio." You say into his neck, leaving a little kiss on his skin. "I love you."
"Anything for you. I love you too. Rest now. I'll make you tea when you wake up." You smile, grateful to have a wonderful, loving boyfriend. Your eyes close as you get sleepy from his comforting touches. You soon fall asleep.

my thoughts on spooky month 6
copy pasted from a page and a half of google doc. crying. spoilers inbound.putting it under the cut cuz its super long. also swear warning.
Ok to start off LILA. LILA MY GAL NO UR DOING UR BEST AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Im crying im actually fucginf crying. She's trying. So hard. Skid is trying so hard. THEY'RE DOING THEIR BEST PLEASEEEEE. Father Gregor can go EAT SHIT. THEY'RE TRYING AND THAT'S WHAT COUNTS GODDAMNIT.
Susie… Susie no… please… she deserves better istgggggg. What happened to their parents? Are they actually just busy? Are they DEAD? Holy shit what if they're dead. Poor Pump, poor Susie, god please just let these kiddos be ok. PLEASE. ABUELO WONDER IS TYING SO HARD BUT SUSIE KNOWS IT ISN'T REALLY FROM HER PARENTS IM CRYING. SUSIE NOOOOOO
FATHER GREGOR I HATE YOU. ok well he obvs did some good but STILL. GREGOR. STFU GREGOR. I get that hes trying but U CANT JUST SAY ALL THAT SHIT ABOUT JUDGEMENT AND THEN JUDGE HER HER FUCKING HOUSE GOT BROKEN INTO!! YOU DONT HAVE THE FUCKING CONTEXT!!!! ARGHFDGHJSGHJKAGHSD. Also DAMN IS HE A CULTIST NOW?? IS HE DEAD?? WHAT?!?!?!
ROYYYYYY ROY MY BOI NOOOOOO poor guy :( i understand why he hates the kids they DID kinda ruin him so. At least he knows theyre trying now :( and ross n rob just ASSUME he did something bad isnt helping here!!!! I get that theyre also trying to help him and its nice to see him opening up to them about stuff (even if we dont get to know what specifically PELO WHY) but PLEASE get this kid an anger management class or smthn PLEASE. He needs SO MUCH THERAPY. I dont think hes gonna get therapy because im pretty sure his parents are Part Of The Problem but STILL.  Also FUCKER LITERALLY GOT POSSESED BY A DEMON?????? THATS GOTTA BE TRAUMATIC TF
Side note i love ross and robert dearly and i appreciate them doing their best to help on both sides i love them smmmmmm AUGH
KEVIN AND RADFORD FRIENDSHIP REALLLLLLLLLL i am SO fucking happy about that!!!! Also Kevin having conflicted feelings on the kids FAIR. Similar thing to Roy except hes an adult with a semi-functional support network and is able to understand that theyre just dumb kids and they dont actually mean any harm. He’s harsher on the hatzgang cuz theyre teens and old enough to know stealing is wrong but Skid n Pump are little kiddos they dont know better. Also him disapproving of father gregor REAL THO. also HE GOT POSSESSED TOO?? TRAUMA CENTRAL HOLY SHIT
PATTY DESERVES TO HAVE A GUN ACTUALLY. Also JOHN ANGST JOHN ANGST JOHN ANGST! IS HIS KID DEAD? IS HIS DAUGHTER OK HOLY SHIT. ALSO THEM HELPING THE KIDS PROPERLY IM CRYIG AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
WHAT WAS EVERMORE DOING WITH THE HOBOMEN???? HELLO??????
I SAW THAT CULT NECKLACE UNDER IGNACIOS SHIRT. I FUCKING SAW IT. CALLED IT BITCH!!!!!!
Rick just has the WORST luck lmao
STREBER IS ALIVE LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
DEXTER NO PLEASE AUGH…… HIS MOM TOO……
JAUNE AND ROSS’S DAD… HE'S REAL HE EXISTS!! I get ur trying jaune but that is NOT the best way to comfort poor lila… AT LEAST SHES TRYING THO I APPRECIATE HER
THE ENTIRE NEWGROUNDS ENDING?? THE THIEVES AND THE CANDY DEALER IN CAHOOTS WITH THE CULT???? HELLO??????
MOLOCH IS GONE. he deserved it but also THE KIDS ARE SO SAD ABOUT IT? Like they don't really get it but they just watched someone they thought was their friend DIE. HOLY SHIT.
finally. SKID AND PUMP. KIDDOS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Ok for real tho theyre so much more self aware than the fandom and bulk of the show give them credit for?? Like Skid is VERY aware of his dad being dead/possibly missing and legit just doesn’t wanna talk about it. He knows what death is and he finds fun in it to cope. My poor sweet boyo… and PUMP. PUMP ANSWERING THE CALL AUGHHHHHH HE WANTS HIS PARENTS BACK IM CRYING. SUSIE AND ABUELO ARE DOING THEIR BEST AND HE'S TRYING SO HARD AND AAAAAAAAAAUGH. Also him getting possessed by Moloch while having Star-Eyes basically debunks the theory of the Star-Eyes being a form of possession which is FASCINATING. Anyway that scene with Susie and Pump got me misty eyed and then during the ending with Skid and Lila i actually genuinely started crying. I just want them to be happy. Please let them be happy. Please. PLEASE.

(Hi I went MIA cuz mental illness but here’s a little snippet inspired by mammon getting drunk in NB that I thought about while trying to sleep last night!!!)
You tried to ignore the tumbling and thumps outside your room and just focus on your DDD but at this rate, you certainly couldn’t. Not when Mammon pushed himself inside your room.
“Mc!!!” He called out and all the way from your bed you could smell the demonus coming from his body. “Hey! Why’d you leave???” He came toward you and you glanced at him just to notice how he was missing half of his layers of clothing.
“Mammon, I didn’t leave. I just needed a second.” You answered him and he was clearly not pleased.
“Mmm… Mc. Did they scare you off?” He stepped forward rather crookedly and then began to pull at his shirt. “Man, it’s so damn hot!”
“No and—Mammon! What’re you doing?” You watched him cast his shirt to the side and push his hair out of his forehead. You couldn’t help but notice he was kinda sweaty and it was glistening on his skin. You watched how his collarbone poked out as he stretched and how each muscle contorted.
“Mc, why’re you starin’?” He slurred, his face going red and a blush covering his face. He shyly move his hands to his face to cover his blush, grinning like a school girl with a crush. “You like lookin’ at my body?” He was giggling now.
You couldn’t help but look at him in bewilderment. “Mammon, oh my goodness.” You sat on the edge of your bed and motioned for him to come closer.
He lowered his eyes and sauntered over to you about to lean down until you put a hand on his chest and pushed him back. He looked confused until you began to place butterfly kisses all over his abs and stomach.
He was really red now and grinning more than before. “D’aww. You’re so sweet Mc.” He watched you flutter him with kisses and he could feel goosebumps from all over. “Why’re you treatin’ me?” He haphazardly pet your head like you were a puppy.
“Cuz I think you’re stupid cute when you’re all bold and somehow bashful at the same time.” You said, looking up to meet his eyes that were half-closed and staring at you.
“Mc… you’re makin’ me blush. Jeez, stupid human.” He couldn’t put on any bit of his tsundere act while intoxicated. Any. At. All. He’s grinning like a maniac and touching you all over, probably not even consciously. “Man stupid human, you’re so stupid that yer kissin’ all over me… doncha know you might not be able to finish whatcha started??? Cuz this stupid demon might not let ya!” He was trying to flirt confidently but his words were slurred and honestly it was a little intelligible, especially as he kept on trying to cover his smile.
“Mammon, I think you’re a bit too intoxicated to continue anyways.” You moved your head back and he started to pout.
“Tch! I’m not drunk! And if you don’t wanna touch me then fine! I’ll just have to tease ya!” He stepped back and bit his lip. Mammon started to pose for you and run hands down his neck, chest, then down his stomach, then suggestively spread his legs… “I’ll give ya a show.”
“Mammon!” You giggled.
He started to pull at his waistband to show off the deep V leading to his— “won’t letcha see it if you won’t touch it!” He leaned forward and put his hands down on the mattress around you to look you in your eyes, faces practically an inch apart. He smiled and licked his lips. “I really don’t think you’ll be able to take it if you don’t stop me now… I can play this game real good.” He looked at your lips then your eyes. “I’m not one to play, but I like seein’ how long I can play with my food til I get to eat.”

It was a Saturday afternoon, I could hear the wind blowing past my ears, whisking my hair around me, I watched in a trance as the leaves made a tornado like shape while whipping through the streets, I steadied my breathing by syncing with the storm, letting the soft raindrops wash over me.
I was sitting on the roof of the scratching post, 4 stories high and far from the noise of Don E cleaning the bar, far from the sounds of candys heals clicking against the tiles, and especially far from Blaine.
Last night I sat at my usual spot at the bar, chatting with Blaine as he served customers, handing me expensive drinks and enjoying what should have been a calm evening, until it wasn’t.
I headed to the bathroom around 1am, touching up my worn off makeup and messy hair, when candy walked in.
I was never her biggest fan, she’d always given me dirty looks, downright ignoring me when she walked into a room, and blatantly flirting with Blaine right in front of me.
So when she walked into the small restroom, drunk out of her mind and most likely high, I tried to ignore her, keep looking in the mirror and leave as soon as I was done.
That didn’t happen.
“You know Blaine only keeps you around cuz you’re easy…” her words trailed off, slurred as she swayed behind me.
“You’re wrapped around his finger (y/n), he’s got you right where he wants you”
I kept looking forward, not even looking back at her as she spoke, tho I could see her in the mirror, bracing herself against the stalls.
“I was once his favourite, you know? I was just like you… but now… well I’m a god-damn-fucking treasure compared to you…” her eyes were like daggers in my back, staring me down, metaphorically stabbing me with each word.
“He only fucks you cuz he knows that once he goes back to me… well, it’ll be like finding a diamond in a pile of horseshit…”
With that I put my lipstick back in my pocket and walked out the door, letting it slam shut behind me, hearing a drunken “don’t let it hit you on the way out!” As I left.
I needed a breather, even though I wanted to not believe her, her words spiralled in my mind, spinning and circling around. I saw the way she looked at him, the way her hand lingers too long when handing him paperwork, the way she perches herself on her desk like some prized canary. It drove me nuts.
I walked passed the bar and into the back office, into the small bedroom where I spent the vast majority of my time, the bed I shared with Blaine.
I laid back, letting my head hit the pillow, I felt tears well in my eyes.
It was stupid, I know, I felt like I was 15 again, getting picked on by the school bully, she wasn’t worth it, but it still hurt.
It didn’t take long for me to fall asleep, my head hurting from tears and exhaustion, I was so tired that I didn’t even hear Blaine coming in, pulling my shoes off and placing the soft blanket over me.
I woke up hours later, still in my black leather jeans and button up shirt, my makeup smudged at hair an absolute mess, I looked a wreck. I turned my head, seeing Blaine sleeping softly besides me, normally this would instantly make me smile, it would urge me to cuddle closer and stay in bed all day, but all I wanted to do was run, run from my feelings, run from my problems and run from him.
So that’s how I ended up here, my hands raw from climbing the fire escape, my head hurting and my body shaking, partly from the hangover and partly from the cold.
I left my phone on the bedside table, knowing that as soon as Blaine sees I’m not in bed, he’d call me till my phone quite literally blew up.
I knew he’d be panicking, but the horrible, jealous part of me, wanted him to worry, I wanted him to feel that same sinking feeling I felt.
I stayed there for hours, sitting, walking around, laying down and watching the clouds, doing anything but go back down.
It wasn’t until I heard Blaine’s car pull back into the alley behind the bar that I sat down facing him, letting my legs dangle off the side of the building.
An hour before I’d heard him leave, shouting at Don E to drive up to my favourite cafe, and that he was headed to my apartment to look for me.
Now he was back, I watched him step out of his car and pick up his phone, he dialed a number, running his hand through his hair, he looked distraught, and part of me felt suddenly awful, I frowned as he leaned back against his car, looking down at his feet.
“Hey, Liv… I’m sorry to call I just- I can’t fi-“ he looked up, his eyes meeting mine as he froze, putting his phone down.
He didn’t even hesitate before rushing to the fire escape, making his way up to me.
“(Y/n)!” I looked down at my feet, still hanging over the street below.
He repeated my name again, softer this time, I winced, he didn’t sound mad, or even upset anymore… he sounded relieved.
And that killed me
He sat down behind me and pulled me into his arms, away from the ledge, holding me close and trembling slightly.
“What happened baby? What’s wrong?” He was mumbling questions into my hair, gripping me tightly as I lay stiff in his arms.
“Baby, please, don’t ignore me…”
He knew. I could tell right then, he knew.
I broke down, sobbing as I relaxed in his arms, gripping his arms to steady myself.
“I’m sorry, it’s stupid…” my voice broke, tears streaming down my face.
“It’s not (y/n), Candy told me what happened… well, she came onto me and told me you were out of the picture…”
I sniffed and looked up at him, my eyebrows furrowed.
“Listen to me (y/n), no one could ever replace you… you make me want to be a better person, you make me smile every single day, when I woke up this morning and you weren’t there… I don’t think I’ve ever felt that scared…” he caressed my cheek, pulling me closer, his words now coming out as a whisper, as if his words would shatter me like a piece of glass.
He held me there for what felt like an eternity, soothing me as I sobbed, apologising for what seemed like hours. I was so out of it that I was practically out of my body as he lead me back to the bar, pulling me into the warm shower with him and curling into bed with me.
Holding me until I knew she was wrong, I knew he had chosen me.

House of Memories
(Sorry bout the hiatus and sorry i came back with angry content 🙃)
Diluc Ragnvindr x Black Fem Reader Angst
Exes2LoversAU
CW: jealousy after breakup, featuring Kaeya, cheating allegations, Diluc acting out of character
TW: cursing (ig cuz there's a lot)
Word Count: 1565 (give or take)
Tumblr media
I thought I knew why we broke up. I thought it was cuz I was always out and busy and I felt bad knowing that. (Y/n) was right; I was always called in for work and instead of spending my free time with her, I spent it patrolling the outskirts of Mondstadt or double-checking that the townspeople didn't need any help. There was no reason for me to keep busy the way I usually did because I had her and I blew it.
I don't know why it took her leaving for me to realize but I decided I wanted to make it right. I went back to her house after a month to talk it over calmly this time but as I stopped outside her house I caught a glimpse of her and Kaeya kissing on the couch through the window. So that's why? So that's why. My vision narrowed and before I knew it, I was knocking on her front door, knocking so heavily I thought and hoped I would break it.
She opens the door and scowls, "What is it, Diluc?"
"It..." I take a deep breath, "Not one month has passed and here you are; kissing other people, are you being serious right now?"
"Kiss--?!"
"And him of all people. What, you just couldn't wait to put your lips all over your 'best friend', huh?"
"You know ion like Kaeya like that!"
"Whatever, I have eyes and I'm not blind, (Y/n). And you."
I storm past her towards Kaeya, who stepped back with his hands up in surrender. I shove him by his shoulder with one hand before getting in his face with narrowed eyes and boiling blood.
"How long?"
"How long what?" He asked.
I scoff, smiling angrily before grabbing the collar of his shirt in my fist, "Act dumb if you want, Kaeya, I'm not in the mood for your bullshit. I don't give a damn how often I was gone, you knew we were together. I want to know how long this affair has been going on."
"Diluc, nobody was or is having an affair."
"You sure? Cuz any time I was out on a quest, she was with you. Anytime she wasn't with me, she was with you."
"And what's wrong with hanging out with one of my good friends? When neither of us are busy, she hangs out with me because I'm the closest person to you. Besides, Lisa is nearly as busy as you."
"You're telling me you've only been hanging out 'watching' a grown, able-bodied woman by yourself, no strings attached and then suddenly you're over at her house and all over her?"
"Aight, that's it." (Y/n) yells pulling me away from him, "You're either drunk as all hell or outta ya fuckin mind, regardless get out."
"I'm not drunk, I'm trying to figure out where my brainiac of a brother got the bright idea to 'watch' a grown woman when I'm out of town. A grown woman who happens to be my girlfriend no less."
"I don't need watching, the fuck are you saying? Am I six?"
She pushed me away from her and towards the door, convinced that I was intoxicated but I resisted, not leaving until I got a correct answer from my shocked, blue-haired brother. Realizing I was almost back at the front door without pressing her just as much, I looked down at her shorter frame with the same scowl I gave her side piece.
"What about you?" I ask, taking her hand off my chest.
"What now, Diluc?"
"How long have you been choosing him?"
"Choosing him?"
"Yeah, cuz I seem to have gotten the short end of the stick because you seem to run straight to him for comfort. So tell me how long I've been your second choice."
"The only thing I chose was to leave you because I thought it would be easier on both of us since you were working so fucking much. I fucking loved you, Diluc! I still do and you're acting like a dickhead like I didn't. Like, you're it's not your fault we broke up in the first fucking place?"
I scoff and look across the living room at Kaeya who has his arms crossed. "Kaeya, get out."
"What, no Kaeya stay."
"If you and him aren't a thing behind my back then let's talk about it. You're kicking out the wrong person to prove your point."
"I'm kicking you out cuz you acting like a fucking baby."
"Glad to know you think my love for you is childish."
"The way you acting is childish. And I shouldn't have to prove shit to you."
"When this much evidence of cheating is here in my fucking face, I suggest you reconsider and kick him out."
"Again, I'm kicking you out because you're acting irrational."
"Brothers fight all the time. That being said I should technically be beating his ass for even attempting this stunt."
"Stunt? Nigga, for the last- you know what?" She crossed her arms and looked back at him, "Kaeya?"
"Already gone."
"Yeah."
She looked back at me as Kaeya walked past us to stand in her yard or something. We continue glaring at each other waiting for the sound of the door slamming shut behind me when she lets out a deep, exasperated sigh.
"There, he's gone. You wanna be an adult now?"
"The only reason I came over was to talk out a way for us to date to see each other more. That was until I saw you two kissing like we didn't just break up, you couldn't have gotten that far with him in a fucking day."
"For the last time, my nigga, we weren't kissing! I don't know when you saw that but Kaeya was here for all of half an hour and we ain't kiss once. What you prolly saw was me resting my head on his fucking shoulder. We were talking and I put my forehead on his shoulder and he leaned in and hugged me like that."
"Well, sorry if I thought you'd kiss him by how often he visits your house. Like why do you keep calling on him for everything when I'm not here?"
"Uh, cuz you're busy and I trust him the most. You're acting like he wasn't my friend before I met you. We only got closer after you seemed to get busier and busier."
"That's not weird that you hang out with your boyfriend's brother when he's away?"
"Frankly, I don't give a shit how it sounds because nothing fuckin happened." She claps with each word, "He's my best friend who also happens to be your brother, big fuckin deal. The fuck you want me to do, stop being his friend and cut him off because you're an insecure baby?!"
My jaw drops getting ready to retort right but her words punch the air out of me. I close my mouth with a deep sigh, looking away to think better, anger finally clearing from my head as her logic snaps me out of it. I give another sigh and hang my head slightly.
"Fuck, you're right."
"Huh?"
"No, you're absolutely right."
"I know but I didn't mean to say it like that..."
"No, you're right, babe. I can't ask you to do that. Shit, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, (Y/n). I guess I was jealous that he knew you for longer and spending time alone with him made it worse for me, especially since I just can't seem to want to stop moving. All my reason just left."
I pinch the bridge of my nose, wiping my eyes in annoyance and shame only opening them when she cups my face and guides my head down to look at her eyes.
"Why you so insecure anyway?"
"Have you met Kaeya? You know how flirty he can be, I don't know how often or how hard he flirts with you but I didn't want you to fall for it one day."
"Yes, Kaeya is a flirt but he's also a good person. He does flirt with me, at the very least it's very very toned down. You really think I'd fuck your brother behind your back or something?"
"No, no. I just...I'm so sorry, darling." I kneel down before her, kissing her hand as my vision becomes blurry, " I mean it."
She sighs, "I know."
"I came to say if you take me back, I won't be taking weekend quests anymore and no quests that take longer than a week unless it's urgent. Once I'm done with work, I'm coming right over or inviting you over to be with me, alright? I swear I'll be here more."
"You swear?"
I place her hand over my racing heart while staring up into her beautifully dark eyes. "On my life, I will be here more. I will be with you more, baby just please take me back."
"Hmm..."
"Or at the very least let me prove it. Gimme...gimme a week or something."
"Fine, you get a month. A whole month to see how this goes, get me?"
"Thank you, baby."
I smile sadly before quickly standing up, leaning down, and pulling her head to me to place a gentle kiss on her forehead. and pulling her in for a hug that she quickly reciprocated.
"You know if you don't I'mma kill you, right?"
"I expect and encourage it."

Heyy I saw you were taking requests for Azris and I have such a good idea! How about a fic where Azriel and Eris are mated and together but Azriel is still going back and forth between the two courts, like he's spying for both Autumn and Night. And one day Azriel returns to Autumn and basically collapses cuz he's so injured and tired. And Eris basically goes ape shit on Rhysand and the IC for treating him like a weapon with no regards to his well being. I love protective Eris and Azriel is always looking out for everyone so he needs someone to look out for him. I hope this inspires you!
Hii! Hope you like it, it went a little off track but I tried to stick to it! Plus, I know this request is old, sorry! 🙏

I Choose You
The sound of his wings batting in the cold, autumn air was the only thing that was able to distract the Shadowsinger from the throbbing ache in his large wings. Cursing, Azriel lands at the boarder of the Autumn Court, he wouldn't mind walking the rest of the way to the palace. With his Illyrian training, Azriel's endurance was heightened, yet, when flying from the Night Court to the Autumn Court every other day, it began to wear him down.
Sighing, the spymaster of the Night Court decides to take a quick break, stretching out his wings before resting his back against the trees rough bark.
'Our mate is growing inpatient.' The shadows inform Azriel. The spymaster groans, not wanting to move yet.
'He can wait a damn second.' Azriel practically snaps back, loosing his usual calm demeanor. A brief silence passes before he looks back at the dark clouds swarming his body, he groans. 'Sorry.' He mumbles to the shadows.
'Get going, singer.' The black mass sings back before retracting behind the spymasters wings.
Finally, Azriel is compelled to leave, he stands up. Once fully stood, he spreads out his wings again before launching into the wind. The gusts were strong, stronger than usual. Something might be wrong, slightly panicked, the Shadowsinger pushes harder.
By the time he reaches the Forest House, Azriel is panting. Pushing open the front door a few of his mates hounds stride over, one named Atrex brushes his hand with his snout before his eyes almost look worried. The hound barks towards the bathroom door.
Instantly, he rushes towards the room, pushing the maroon door open to see Eris plucking his eyebrows, his toned chest bare of a shirt. Azriel also notices that the High Lord happened to be in his own black pants, his stress lightens at the sight—but, only for a second. Eris looks worried, setting down the tweezers.
"You're tired." The Autumn fae points out, his right hand coming to rest on Azriel's cheek.
"Well, yes, I did fly here." He replies with a small, strained chuckle. All Azriel could think of was the bed in Eris' room, the soft, silk, black sheets. Fluffy pillows, the hounds that would lie down beside them or on the bed...
"You're never tired, at least not physically." As the red-head speaks his worried expression fades into pure concern, but, through the bond Azriel feels the underlying rage radiating off of the male.
"You're angry?" The Illyrian brings his hand to Eris' wrist, taking his hand off of his cheek before gently kissing his knuckles, moving back down to the spot he was grabbing before planting another kiss there.
"Not at you." Eris grumbles. "Maybe if Rhysand didn't call you back to that court every single time you came here you wouldn't be..." He pauses, looking for a word. "Drained." The High Lord settles on.
"I am a member of his court, Eris."
"And you're my mate!" He retorts. "How would he feel having Feyre go to the Summer Court every other damn day." Eris glares before adding, "Especially when Tarquin is there."
Azriel halts, a soft chuckle passes his lips, causing Eris' glare to harden. "Are you accusing me of flirting with someone else, princess?"
It's the High Lord's turn to pause. "Perhaps you have a thing for gingers." He crosses his arms and looks away from the spymaster.
"My love," Azriel begins, he watches Eris' pointed ear twitch, signaling he's listening. "Look at me." His scarred hand now cups Eris' own cheek, making the Autumn fae look at him. "I only love you, I will only ever love you." He presses a soft kiss to Eris' forehead. "You know this."
"I still don't like Gwyn." He mumbles, leaning into the Shadowsinger's touch.
"That's alright." He hums. "Can we-"
"You're not switching the previous topic." Eris interrupts. "Rhysand overworks you, Azriel, and if he doesn't realize it I will tell him." He snaps.
The Illyrian remains silent.
"I'm serious, I will winnow down there." Eris crosses his arms. "Speak with him about it." He demands before his voice fades into a softer tone. "Please...?" He asks, his hands now resting on Azriel's waist, Azriel's own hand remained on his lovers cheek.
"You know I can't do that."
"Then come to my court, Azriel." Eris pleas, his composure breaking, his hands fall from Azriel's waist and go back into his own arms, crossing them once more. "I can't fucking stand it."
"Stand what?" He asks.
Eris looks at him as if he were the most dense person in the entirety of Prythain. "Nothing, nothing Azriel. Go rest." He lets a breath out.
"No, tell me." Azriel steps closer, now placing his hands on Eris' hips. "I can't resolve an issue if I don't know it, love."
"Go back to Rhysand."
Azriel tenses, his grip slightly tightening. "What?"
"We're not fully mated, if you can't decide now, you never will." Eris snaps. "Go, Shadowsinger, back to your own High Lord."
"I don't have to choose!" The spymaster of the Night Court states. "I can have both of my families."
"I won't make you choose, go home." Eris repeats, glaring at the Illyrian male before he begins to distract himself, walking out of the bathroom and into his bedroom—putting on a black button up, replacing Azriel's pants with his own brown, riding ones when he is inside.
"I can't." Azriel finally admits. "Eris-" He groans and moves his hands to the bathroom sinks counter, clutching it tightly. "You are my home, can't you see that?" He states before walking to the bedroom behind his mate.
"No." Eris replies bluntly, almost bored.
The Shadowsinger halts. "What?"
"Goodnight, Azriel. If you can't leave yet, I will." He scoffs and winnows away in a puff of red and black smoke.
Once his mate was gone, he felt different sorts of emotions raging inside of his chest, anger, fear, worry, and most of guilt. Of course, the only person who has ever truly seen Azriel for himself has left because he wishes to stick to the others who don't.
He said everything wrong, obviously Eris did, it was his defensive mechanism—to say the first aggressive word to get the opposing enemy off of him, except, Azriel wasn't an enemy. He was Azriel; his mate, his lover, his everything. Eris' entire world has revolved around the Illyrian since the second the Shadowsinger revealed that he was his mate.
But, now, the High Lord has messed up over his own insecurities and fears. The fear of loosing Azriel, whether it be his family or Gwyn.
So, rather than going back and apologizing, Eris did the first thing his emotions told him to, letting out his anger on those who threatened him.
Arriving at the River House was an odd feeling for Eris, having never been invited to this house even when the Inner Circle knew of the relationship he shared with their beloved spymaster.
Eris raises his ringed hand and knocks.
The High Lady of the Night Court was the person to answer to the sound, she looks a bit surprised at Eris' sudden visit but that is to be expected considering Azriel just left to see him.
"Eris," She greets. "Is something wrong?" Her eyebrow cocks up, the High Lady looked about as tired as Azriel, having just birthed Nyx months ago.
"I need to speak with your mate." He speaks, his mask slipping back into place as it has for the past five hundred years.
"Of course..." She sighs and opens the door wider. "He is in his study." Feyre says before walking away, Nyx's cries beginning to fill the hallway with sound.
Eris nods and begins to walk away, after following the other High Lord's scent, he reaches the black door. Without knocking, he pushes it open, fire crackling around him.
Rhysand looks up from the letter he was reading. "You're here." He states plainly.
"Obviously," Eris snaps, slamming the door behind him which caused the Illyrian to glare at him. "Considering the fact you overwork my lover, yes, I'm here."
"He is under my rule, whether he is my brother or not, he is my responsibility." The raven-haired male explains as if Eris were a child, it made his blood boil.
"You have no right." He glares. "How would you feel if Feyre ran every fucking errand for someone else? What if she travelled to a different court every other damn day, you would barely get to see her."
"Well good thing I don't live that life." He replies.
"Well I do!" Eris finally snaps, his fire swarming around himself, blue flames threatening the other male. "Do you even comprehend how hard that is to live?"
Rhysand stands up, the force of his movement sending his chair flying back against the wall—the chair leg snapping. "I had to watch my mate be in love with another man for two years-"
"Try four hundred." Eris retorts.
This statement causes Rhysand to halt. "What?"
The brief silence finally made Eris calmed down, well, a bit. His flames settle back down, soon vanishing into smoke. "I knew about the bond since your father paraded Azriel around, the first second I saw him." He admits. "Do you understand how hard that was for me? And even now? How nothing has changed?"
The High Lord of the Night Court also refrains himself. "I apologize, Eris." The gingers eyes snap his way. "I do understand, of anyone I do." He walks over and places his hand on the Autumn fae's shoulder.
Eris groans before speaking. "Don't be nice to me, it makes me want to be nice back."
This causes Rhysand to chuckle. "I wouldn't mind that, you know." His hand drops from Eris' shoulder. "I will talk with Azriel,"
Eris cocks up his eyebrow.
"Next week." He adds. "Take care, Eris." Rhysand says, dismissing him.
Shockingly, Eris is not mad at the dismissal. In fact, he even smiles. "Goodbye, Rhys."
When Azriel wakes up again he is in Eris' bed, Atrex by his hand. Slowly, he sits up, finally getting a full rest. But, the panic soon reappeared, where was Eris? He needed to speak with his lover.
"Where's Eris, bud?" He asks as he scratches between Atrex's ears, but, his tone was shaken.
The hound moves his head closer, before barking at the front door, the High Lord was serious about leaving. Hurt burned in his chest, Azriel wanted to cry.
Slowly, his shadows wrap around him, another hound jumps onto the bed and gently licks Azriel's hand—her name was Rose—as if to say 'it's alright.'
He quickly scratches the two smoke hounds before standing up, he walks to where his clothes are in the room, pulling out a tight black shirt with no sleeves and Illyrian, leather pants. He quickly sheathes Truth-Teller on his legs holster before heading for the door when it opens—nearly swinging Azriel in the face with it.
What he sees causes relief to flood the bond, it was Eris—unharmed. Without a word, Azriel tugs Eris into an embrace.
"You're alright." He mutters, inhaling his mates scent.
"Of course I am." Eris sighs before returning the hug, tightly at that.
"Where'd you go?" Azriel questions.
"Just a quick visit north..."
"You spoke to Rhys?" The feeling of relief turns back into worry. "Are you out of your mind? He could've harmed you!"
"He nearly did." Eris chuckles, looking up at his mate to meet his gaze—Azriel was not amused, he seemed ready to throttle his brother. "Calm down," He lectures. "I am unharmed as you stated, in fact, I even made Rhys laugh."
The Shadowsinger pauses before letting out a breath. "You call him Rhys now?" He smiles.
"Slip of the tongue." Eris pushes away and crosses his arms, his cheeks flushing from embarrassment.
"Obviously." Azriel mocks his mates voices, causing a fake warning glare from the High Lord. "Come back here." He opens his strong arms up, Eris instantly sinks into them. "I have been worried since the second I woke up."
"I'm sorry." Eris blurts out. "I shouldn't have implied you have to choose... I just can't sometimes... It gets too much." He pauses, russet eyes meeting brown-hazel. "I love you, Azriel. I always have, and the idea of you leaving me now that I finally have you-" His voice cracks, tears forming in his eyes.
Azriel nods, sitting on the couch and gently guiding Eris to his lap, the High Lord's spine to his chest. "I will never leave you, Eris Vanserra."
"I know that, but, it doesn't stop the insecurity from appearing." He finally admits.
The spymaster hums, kissing the back of Eris head before combing his hair with his hands. "Then let me prove it to you."
"You don't need to-"
"I, Azriel, vow to Eris Vanserra that I will never leave him, not matter the reason. Do you accept this bargain, my love?" He whispers from behind.
"Azriel. You can't be serious."
"More than," He places a kiss to Eris' nape. "Do you accept?" He repeats.
"Yes, yes I do." Eris agrees before looking over his shoulder and kissing Azriel on the lips.
The bargain mark forms on both of their hips, Eris lifts his shirt to see Illyrian markings mixed with flames; the two practically intertwined like a braid.
"Beautiful." Azriel mutters, his hands landing on his mates hips. "Eris," He begins.
Eris looks away from the mark, now straddling his lover. "Yes?" His forehead now resting against Azriel's.
"I will always choose you, no matter the time, life, or universe." He pauses. "You are my home, Eris Vanserra."
New tears form in Eris' eyes, but this time, it was not from sadness, but pure joy. Happiness floods the bond before Eris brings his lover into a gentle kiss.
"I love you, and I will always choose you as well, brute." He smiles at his lover
Azriel returns the look.

What’s This! The Consequences of My Actions!
Summary:
It was about damn time Danny did something irreversibly stupid and started dealing with the consequences.
Word Count: 2779 || AO3 Link
[First Part]
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH this fic ate my son. Anyway, this is a filler meant to connect Treats and Threats to a longer fic that I’ll hopefully start on soon, because of course this AU is now getting fanfic’ed >:3c
[Shared Cujostody AU Masterpost]
—-
Danny carefully looked out around the corner. The school hallway was as always full of other students making their way to the next period, but he was looking for one person in particular.
Sighing in relief when he confirmed Valerie was nowhere to be seen, he relaxed a bit and started walking towards his locker. Making sure to keep an eye out for her pretty dark curls just in case.
It was honestly a miracle he managed to avoid her for so long. He was sure she would hunt him down like an animal (or more like his ghost half) before the first period even started, but he hadn’t even seen her all day.
Was she even at school? A sudden guilt filled him. What if him knowing she’s the Red Huntress had stressed her out so much she was now laying in bed terrified that he told everyone at school?
Of course he would never. He knew exactly what it’s like to have a secret identity, but she didn’t know that.
(He also tried to ignore how the idea of her not trusting him kinda hurt. He had no right to feel that way, he was literally lying to her every time they spoke lately.)
He was focused on pulling out the right books for his third period when someone approached him from behind and put a hand on his shoulder. Yelping, he immediately spun around to be greeted with a sight of a laughing Tucker.
‘’I hate you.’’ Danny spat annoyed, turning back to his books.
‘’Is he still afraid of Valerie finding him?’’ he heard Sam ask as she approached the two of them.
‘’I’m not afraid.’’ he said at the same time as Tucker confirmed with a ‘’Yep.’’
‘’Honestly Danny, you did this to yourself.’’ Sam continued. He gave up with the books so he could look at her, but the moment he did, he saw a disapproving expression on her face. ‘’How many times did we tell you to be careful? You slipped up so many times already, it was about damn time you did something irreversibly stupid.’’
‘’Might as well fess up everything, you know.’’ Tucker butted in.
‘’What? No.’’ Danny glanced at him in disdain. ‘’Are you kidding? She would kill me.’’
‘’Isn’t she gonna do that the next time she sees you anyway? Either of you?’’
‘’No. I’ll charm my way out of it.’’
Sam made an unimpressed noise, while looking behind his back. ‘’Better start working that charm then, ‘cuz here she comes.’’ she pointed out.
Danny turned around in horror and yep. There she was. She just walked out of Lancer’s class and spotted him. He didn’t manage to even think of disappearing into thin air. Valerie’s eyes widened for a second before turning into an angry glare. She started making her way over to him.
He was in trouble alright.
‘’Good luck man. It was nice knowing you!’’ he heard Tucker say as he and Sam ditched him. Some friends they were.
Well he just had to act casual. Like nothing was wrong! Yeah! That sounded like a great plan!
When she was close enough he gave her an awkward wave. ‘’Uh…Hi Val! What’s up? Did you do that trig homework Lancer assigned us? It was horrible-’’
‘’We need to talk.’’ she interrupted and without stopping started dragging him somewhere by the collar of his shirt.
She didn’t even bother to make sure that no one sees them when she promptly shoved him into the janitor closet and locked the door behind them. The gossip girls were gonna have a field day today.
Thanks to his in-human sight he could clearly see her struggle to find the light switch. He kinda hoped she wouldn’t, just to prolong the inevitable butt kicking he was about to get, but she eventually turned on the weak light bulb hanging over their heads. Now he could see her green gaze peering into his more clearly.
His heart was beating out of his chest for more than one reason.
‘’Did he tell you?!’’ she whispered angrily.
That was not what he expected to hear.
‘’Did who tell me what?’’
‘’Did Phantom tell you?’’ she asked again, slower, more uncertain. She backed away a bit, her back leaning against the closed door. ‘’…Who I am…?’’
Of course she’d blame his alter ego first. He shouldn’t even be surprised at this point, but the question still caught him off guard.
‘’Who you are…? You’re Valerie Gray? We’re friends…? I don’t need a ghost to tell me that.’’ Yes. Play dumb, Fenton. Maybe she’ll buy it. Could he actually gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss his way out of this?
‘’Don’t try to gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss your way out of this, Danny.’’
Damn she knew him well. Kinda embarrassing for her to not have figured out his identity yet.
‘’He didn’t tell me. I…uh… figured it out on my own.’’ he tried again.
‘’How?’’
See, this was also why he wanted to prolong the inevitable. He still needed to come up with a good enough excuse for why he knew her secret identity in the first place. It was originally Sam who made the connection, but he couldn’t tell Valerie that. It was better to not involve Sam and Tucker into this mess he got himself into.
On the other hand putting the blame on his alter ego was also not the way to go. Valerie could barely stand Phantom, not to mention he already had a rain check on the ass kicking from yesterday. One wrong move and she might ignore the truce and blast him. Probably.
Sometimes it felt like the only reason she stopped trying to actively kill him was because of Cujo.
Who was he kidding? That was exactly the reason.
‘’Well?’’
He focused back on her. She didn’t look as angry anymore. Mostly stressed about her secret identity being on the line.
‘’I saw you put the suit on!’’ he blurted out.
That took her by surprise. She paused for a second, eyes wide before clutching his shoulders and shaking him desperately.‘’What?! When? Where?’’
‘’A while back.’’ he turned his gaze to the right. If he had to lie he could at least lie to a broom and not to Valerie’s face. ‘’Uh… It was behind the Nasty Burger…I didn’t mean to! I was just by the dumpsters and you didn’t see me!’’
She loosened her grip on his shoulders, but still kept her arms there. ‘’Why were you even there?’’
‘’...Looking for my dignity which I lost after becoming a tiktoker.’’
She just stared at him and he could feel the sweat rolling down his back. Which by the way was pressed hard against all the shelves with cleaning supplies. If he wasn’t cornered by a stressed out badass girl who could kick his ass at any wrong move, he would’ve complained.
Finally after what felt like hours, she let go of him with a sigh. ‘’Of course you of all people would be recording a tiktok by a dumpster.’’
He could swear her lips twitched into a small smile for just a millisecond.
‘’Yeah… you know me. I do stuff like that all the time!’’ he laughed nervously rubbing the back of his head.
She smiled a bit more at that, but her expression quickly changed back into a worried one as she looked to the side. ‘’You…didn’t tell anyone, right?’’ She turned her gaze back to him.
‘’Of course not, I can only imagine how stressful it is…to have a secret identity.’’ he could absolutely imagine it. Which now made him realize exactly just how stressful this entire situation must be for her.
Hell, if any of his classmates revealed that they knew he’s been Phantom all this time he would probably have a heart attack and die again on the spot.
She nodded her head solemnly. ‘’Yeah…and I’m scared you’ll be in danger now that you know.’’ she said.
Oh great she was worried for him now too.
‘’Val, it’s fine. I can take care of myself.’’ he gently took hold of her hands in hopes of calming her down a bit.
She sent him a doubtful look.
Okay. Rude. He absolutely could take care of himself.
‘’I’m literally the ghost hunters’ son???’’ he defended weakly.
She just shook her head a bit. ‘’With all due respect, Danny. Your parents aren’t very …uh… aware.’’
That was true. He couldn’t really deny it, so he just let her continue instead.
‘’You literally babysit Cujo and let Phantom hang out in your room, which, by the way. What the fuck Danny?’’
He shouldn’t have let her continue.
‘’Well I mean… I wouldn’t call it hanging out uh… I might or might not…sneak some Fenton tech to him. Sometimes.’’ he answered nervously. ‘’I can sneak some for you too if you want!’’
Yeah, try to buy her with guns. Girls love guns.
‘’Why would you do that?” she asked, totally ignoring the last part. “Is he threatening you? I swear if he dares to hurt you I will end his entire existence.’’
That made him feel real safe. ‘’Uh… Don’t you have a truce…or something?’’
‘’Doesn’t mean I trust him. He’s a ghost.’’
‘’So is Cujo.’’
‘’Cujo’s different.’’
‘’Sure.” he stated flatly. It was not the time to have this conversation. “I’m fine though, really. Please don’t worry about me.’’
‘’You’re important to me, I don't want you to get hurt.’’ she said, squeezing his hands softly. Right, they were still holding hands. He blushed looking down at them as she continued talking. ‘’The sole reason I broke up with you was because I wanted to protect you.’’
This made Danny instantly raise his head back up to meet her eyes. ‘’I thought you broke up with me to have more time to hunt ghosts?’’
‘’No! I mean, kinda! I mean- UGH.’’ she sputtered. Pausing for just a second she closed her eyes and took a small breath. ‘’I was very close to giving up ghost hunting for you, but then I realized I’m way too deep in. Someone needs to protect this town and if I don’t do it then who will? I just didn’t want you to get caught in the crossfire.’’
A silence. She sounded so sad saying that.
He knew she considered giving up ghost hunting for him, he heard her say it. But then the thing with her new suit happened and he assumed she just decided kicking his ass was the real priority. Yet it looked like she apparently didn’t want to drag him into a mess he was already a part of anyway.
‘’Val…‘’ he started softly.
‘’I’m sorry.’’ she interrupted, finally letting go of his hands. ‘’It’s just been a lot to deal with and…a lot of hard decisions…I’ve never really talked about it with anyone before.’’
He furrowed his brows. ‘’That must feel pretty lonely?’’
Valerie looked at him sadly.
The guilt that overcame him in that moment was unbearable. This entire situation was his fault. He was too busy being self centered, only ever caring about keeping his secret in tact. Never in his wildest dreams did he even consider how lonely Valerie must have felt all this time.
They weren’t so different after all, both of them wasting their teenage years doing some vigilante bullshit, but he always had Sam and Tucker (and then also Jazz) to support and help him out with ghost hunting. Meanwhile the only people who knew about Valerie were her dad, who disapproved of the entire thing and someone she considered her sworn enemy.
He should’ve come clean the moment she agreed to a truce. Maybe then she’d actually believe he wanted to support her. Instead he ended up weaving this web of lies, so intricate he barely could keep track of it anymore.
Heck, they were having this conversation only because he messed up yesterday. He put so much unneeded stress on her shoulders. This wasn’t fair to her in the slightest.
The only thing he could do now was be there for her as someone she doesn’t entirely hate yet.
‘’Well. Now you have me.’’ he said, forcing a soft smile on his face. ‘’I’ll always be here for you if you want to talk about…this.’’
And meanwhile I’ll just keep lying to you. He thought cringing inwardly.
Unaware of the crisis he was going through in his head, Valerie returned his smile with one of her own.
‘’Maybe it’s a bit egoistic, but…I guess I’m kind of happy someone knows. And of all the people who could’ve found out, I’m happy it’s you.’’ she made a point to look him in the eyes as she added ‘’I trust you. Just please make sure to not get into trouble.’’
He stared at her for a moment.
How could he do this to her? She trusted him! She just said so herself! He felt like the biggest jerk alive (or half-alive).
It’s not like he could just come clean though. Especially not at this moment. Revealing his identity would be an entirely different kind of betrayal. She would be absolutely furious. The kind of furious that even Cujo wouldn’t be able to save him from. That wouldn’t help her.
Sam was right though. He did this to himself. He should’ve listened to his friends from the start and stayed away from her as Phantom. Let her live her own life. Instead it was almost as if he craved any kind of interaction with her, even in the form of being shot.
And then Cujo came around. He somehow managed to make her listen to him as he explained what really happened with the dog. Slowly she started warming up to the puppy and that made Danny believe that maybe she’d warm up to him too, so he started pushing himself into her life more.
For fuck’s sake he got a second phone only to text with her. (She only answered messages involving Cujo and started conversations only when she suspected he did something wrong, but still.)
And okay, he did like annoying her with the family jokes a bit too much, sue him. He loved getting a reaction out of her and she always got so exasperated. (And maybe it was also a self indulgence. Taking care of Cujo has been their little thing. Only for them!)
He did feel a slight guilt when he messed up the first time and Danny Fenton got accidentally roped into ‘’babysitting’’ Cujo, but he ignored it for the most part. She actually bought into that flimsy excuse and he got to relax more when recording his tiktoks, not having to worry about whether Cujo came into view or not.
This though? This made him feel awful. Like he was finally truly breaking her trust. He was an awful person and a coward.
Suddenly his silly little game of house wasn’t so fun anymore.
‘’Trust me you’re the farthest thing from egoistic right now.’’ he said, forcing another pained smile on his face.
She sent him the cutest smile back. ‘’Thanks Danny. You’re really sweet.’’
Fucking hell. If only she knew the truth, she wouldn’t think that.
Before he managed to say anything else (which would probably be a lie anyway) the bell rang.
Valerie looked at the still closed door and moved to open it. ‘’I better get to my next class. Don’t wanna get detention. I’ll see you around?’’
‘’Yeah.’’ he mumbled just loud enough for her to hear before she turned around and left. Leaving the door slightly ajar.
Danny stood there for a second more. Trying to process what exactly just happened. He slid down to a sitting position and hit his head repeatedly against the cleaning supplies shelves.
Later during lunch, he joined his best friends at their usual spot and put his head in his hands on the table.
“Guys I fucked up so bad.”
“I told you so.” Sam answered unimpressed. Tucker just straight up laughed.
Some friends he had.
‘’It’s not funny, Tucker.’’ Danny groaned, raising his head to glare at the other boy.
‘’Yes it is.’’ Tucker answered, wiping away a non-existent tear.
Sam rolled her eyes at the both of them. ‘’The question is; what are you gonna do now?’’
Danny stared at the table in thought. There was only one thing he should do at this point, though it wasn’t going to be easy.
‘’I don’t know how yet…’’ he started looking up to meet his friends’ curious stares. ‘’…I’m gonna tell her the truth.’’
