Gonna try to do a bit of Inktober this year! Its going to be self indulgent as hell since I'll be using the Cringetober template
Starting off on Day 1: Heterochromia!
I've been playing a lot of Baldur's Gate 3 lately. This is my Tav from the playthrough I play with my friends. A Wizard/Fighter who likes blowing things up with sass.

Since this'll be my THIRD time doing this insane art challenge, I've got some pointers for people that're gonna try for the first time or who have struggled with completing it in the past:
Stockpile ideas NOW. It gets hard coming up with new ones after like day 12.
Have some lazy day backup ideas. Like meme redraws/prompt templates, super simple prompts (hairstyle changes or drawing characters in casualwear are pretty easy), and just quick doodle ideas. For Guilty Gear you've got an entire array of official art and in-game sprites to redraw for easy days. Call 'em studies. It counts ;^)
All those 100k followers Instagram and Twitter artists that shit out 31 fully polished illustrations have already started doing the pencils or thumbnails for their drawings. Some people will spend September doing the sketches and leave October JUST for inking. There is no shame in doing this, but don't go in thinking they're doing all of that for each piece every day. It's impossible. You'll burn out after day 5,
There's a lighter version of this challenge where you do just one piece a week instead of one each day for an end total of 4 (or 5) pieces as opposed to 31. If you have a busy schedule then this may be the way to go. Call it like Inktober Lite or something.
If you've got a free day and the inspiration for it, do a bunch of drawings in advance. This is cheating but I don't care lol I do it.
Rules are only stern suggestions, not carved in stone. If using 3D models or templates makes it easier: Do it. If digital is easier/quicker than analog art: Do it.
A pen doodle on a napkin counts as much as a full illustration does.
THE GOAL IS COMPLETION, NOT PERFECTION.
Ok. Good luck!!

Day 8 is complete (albeit, a touch late), and I’ll be real, I think I’m gonna do two more of these and then I’m out. It’s been fun, but I just don’t have the time to draw for 2-3 hours every day.
I’m following @slylock-syl‘s Inktober template which can be found here.
Anyway, today’s theme was “Eyeball” and this is one the first ones in a while that I went in knowing a day in advance what I was gonna do. There have been several stories I’ve seen in which Undyne gets a replacement eye of some kind (usually through alphys), so I figured that Undyne would probably like to play with it around people, super proud of it, despite Alphys constantly saying that it’s unsanitary and could cause an infection. I actually got this idea when I recalled a story my Dad told me. He had an uncle who had a Glass Eye and he loved to mess with people using it. It was really cool story, and I thought it was totally something Undyne would do. I also wanted to take a step away from the darker interpretations, especially with Day 6 and 7 being so dark (we will be returning to our regularly scheduled programming on Day 9 and 10, however). And yes, I did get a little lazy with the background and just copy-pasted a high-res sprite grab of the Lab from the game, but I swear, Undyne’s hair took five million years to draw, but it was worth it.

P.S will reblog later with a link to a speed paint I recorded.

This year we're gonna do a special Inktober challenge! We createad a new version with our Original Characters! This could be very fun, so I hope you'll enjoy it. Also, you are free to use this template for your Inktober too! You only had to tag me and my friends when you started it, and have fun!

Hey!! I remember seeing you put our a mobtober template a while back, but there's also a blog out now with a different template. I was curious if you're gonna stick with your own, or go with the blogs, since I think yours came first!
Thank you, I found the other one and it's real cute!
I guess it depends -- I'd love to use some of their prompts, they looked really good! I'm going to be going back and forth between so many fandom calendars, though, my inktober is going to be a mess either way 😅
And mmm, I hope I didn't step on anyone’s toes, calling mine the same thing first -- I didn't realize there'd be a more official one... 😬

So uhhhh I drew a lot of RWBY this year... only two of these are non RWBY and tbh I could have just as easily put something RWBY for June Template
Retrospective under the cut bc it’s LONG
RETROSPECTIVE January: First piece of the year! I still like this piece and I think it shows how much I improved from the original version of it. Also I just like looking at it bc it's soft content of my rare pair. I do think I made the rose look photorealistic which looks... bad esp with all the other more stylized flowers, and I got lazy with the bleeding hearts by just drawing one set and flipping them. Emerald's hair also could look better. February:  I made this around GNG week, which was a fun, good time, long before the server imploded on itself. I got really lazy with the backgrounds, obviously, but I do like the poses in this one, tho it helped that I based it off of screenshots from Young Justice. I also just really like how Merc looks in this one. March: March wasn't a very prolific month for art, I don't think I produced much besides this and one comic piece for GNG week. I'm not sure why exactly, I can't find any specific reason why I would be unproductive that month. I'm gonna just assume I was drained from work all the time and didn't have the energy to put out good art, and also I was getting into a slump bc all my art was starting to look same-y. This piece isn't very good, but I chose it because I did it without a reference, and at this point that was going out of my comfort zone. It's obviously not super dynamic, but at the very least you can tell I intended there to be motion to it. April: This also wasn't a very prolific month for art, not as bad as March, but for the same reasons. I was also really starting to feel burnout from the RWBY fandom, specifically wasps and conflict within the GNG server. This was also when the Art vs the Artist meme was popular, and I realized I didn't want to do that meme because my art was too similar and boring, which also brought me down a peg. Though I put out a few good chibis in April, I chose my Mercury redesign bc I was really proud of it. I could never get the Emerald redesign to mesh quite right, but I can say I'm really proud of how Mercury's came out. May: May had me bounce out of my art slump and in full force trying to expand my skills! Specifically exploring painting. Although May was about as prolific as April, what I did create I put a lot into. It was difficult to pick between this and my app of Edison, because I'm really proud of both, but in the end I went with this commission of Mercury because I pushed myself to try and use an interesting perspective for the piece instead of my usual stand still and face the camera pose. Because I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, this was one of the best things I made all year, and may be my favorite piece of the year. June: TIME TO STRESS OUT ABOUT CONNECTICON! So if you follow me on twitter, you might have noticed I made a lot of posts at the beginning of the year low key throwing shade at myself for drawing my oc's instead of more "important" art. Well, that important art that I was procrastinating was con merch, and con was the second week of July, so I really had to get my ass in gear to finish merch on time (spoiler, I didn't finish a lot of it on time). This piece and July's piece are both posters I made for Connecticon, and while I like July's much better, that doesn't mean I find this piece bad. I really should have known that no one at con would realize it was a goonies reference tho -_-; I also lost a lot of love for this piece after season 6 of Voltron, which I watched while I was about 60% of the way through this piece, so I had to force myself to finish it. July: I love this piece!!!! Don't get me wrong, I know it has flaws, but look at it! The lines are so crisp, the colors look good, Roman and Merc's expressions are mwuah chefs kiss, and I just love all of them!!! ... except for Neo. I really didn't do her justice in this piece, her hair is too fluffy, her head is way to oversized to the point that she looks like a bobblehead, and her eyes are too close together. Really if you take out Neo's head that whole problem goes away. I also love all the tiny details I put in this one, from emerald's chaps to roman's rose to Neo's lace parasol. You can tell I was way more passionate about this piece than I was about the Voltron piece.  August:  pretty sure this is when I quit my job cashiering, and thank god bc customers suck. If I was going off of sheer popularity, Chibi Pyrrha would have taken this slot no contest, and while I love chibi Pyrrha, I don't think it was the best of the month. I chose this little princess and the pauper au doodle because I tried a year ago to draw these two dancing, and it looked like dog shit. It was flat and ugly. But this has motion to it, and even looking at it now makes me feel warm and happy inside. It's just a good cute drawing of my otp. September: My piece for the RWBY tarot project! I have a lot of mixed emotions about this one. on the one hand, I love how mercury looks, his expression, the lighting, the visceral gore from his legs (ESPECIALLY THE VISCERAL GORE ON HIS LEGS) and the hands of the undead, all look stunning and I don't think I could be more happy with how they turned out. And then we get to the background. The caduceus isn't the worst thing ever, but it's severely lacking in quality compared to the rendering on mercury in front of it, and a lot of it is clearly pixellated from me trying to stretch and squash it just right. And the fire is a hot (no pun intended) mess. It's flat, incoherent, and doesn't lead the eye anywhere. It's a shame too because I wanted to do more with it, but I a) didn't have enough time or patience to figure out what I needed to do to fix it and b) didn't want to go outside of my comfort level, so I gave up and decided to be satisfied with what I had. October: October was another good month for art, I made a turnaround sheet for Moss, painted a full body (and slightly lewd) Rudy, and made a decent attempt at inktober. Ok, so I got like 2 days in, but I improved a lot on inking from last year! Fun fact! this piece was originally going to be fan art of Lindsay Jones, but after I did some thumbnails to figure out a pose, I thought it would suit White Diamond better, and I could also sell it as merch. I love this piece. I think I captured the sinister mood well, and conveyed the story I wanted to without any dialogue (at least the notes on Tumblr make me assume I did a decent job, lotta people really wigged out lol) I really worked hard to get the lighting right on this one, and I think it shows. My absolutely favorite thing about this piece funnily enough, is Amethyst. I think I just did a great job drawing her and I'm proud of myself ok. Stevens bubble and my trouble figuring out how to get WD's leg just right are the only things that I dislike about this piece, but I might go back and fix those. November: IM SO PROUD OF THIS COMMISSION!!!!!! I worked so god damn hard on this chef's kiss poifect,  and it really shows. I started using a new brush at this point, the Ojing series on Clip Studio Paint, which I recommend and have been using a lot since. I've also been using this shading technique since drawing this. I love how it sort of fades out but it's still really crisp. I also love all the little details that give this piece character, like her shoes and the stripes on her jacket. This piece really takes a lot of the stuff I learned over the year and combines it into one piece, and I could not be prouder of it. I have absolutely no problems with this one, though I do find the weapon a bit plain, but it's what the client described. December: AND NOW IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!!! I had been working on this piece since August, going back to it every now and then and getting frustrated. I'm really glad I came back to it and finally finished it, since I love this pair and I put a lot of effort into it back in August. However, I'm also really glad I completely overhauled a lot of it, specifically the flowers. Though I'm not 100% happy with the mums in this one, they look a thousand times better than the mums I had originally sketched back in August, and were part of the reason I had such a hard time finishing this for months. I also thought it would be nice to end the year on the same note it started; with a flower couple. I've definitely learned a lot since January, and I hope to continue growing in 2019! 2019 GOALS!
Work on backgrounds for the love of god
Draw more stuff that isn't RWBY
Perspective
Make more speed paints and post more to youtube in general

Check-in #2 is Next Monday!
Some of y’all have already turned in your sketches or drafts (and a few finished works) but for the rest of us be sure to email your work to [email protected] by 11:59 pm EST on Monday October 15th. Just like last time, putting your work in the WIP channel of the Discord server is great but it does not count as turning them in so be sure to email them. Here’s some details to help out:
Artists
Sketches for Individual Pages: This is where you need to make sure your image is the right size and all set up for printing. We made a template with an illustrated tutorial to help you with that. Just check out this post and follow the instructions there. The image in Step 3 is a sketch. It’s a bit of a rough sketch but a good example of the minimum expectations for what your sketch should be. It’s ok if you’re already past the sketch stage. Just watch the gif at the end of that post for a quick animation of how to make sure your image is ok for printing. If you need help with that jump into the Discord server and ask umbraja to give you a hand.
Sketches for Journal Images: These are going to be framed to look like old school Polaroids so the print specs aren’t as exacting with journal images as they are with full page pieces - no need to worry about the bleed. They do need to fit into the frames though. Polaroids have about a 3x3 inch picture area so your journal sketches need to be square. We'd rather you draw at a minimum of 6x6 inches (1800x1800 pixels) so you can get better detail but they will end up printed 3x3 so not too much detail.
Thumbnails for Collaborations: Many of y’all turned in thumbnails for collabs last month but they’re not actually due until this one. You can turn in more if you like or go ahead and send sketches. Be sure to send your writer thumbnails and sketches (preferably before you send them to us) so they can give you feedback too. Please let us know if your writer has not been working with you on the collaborations so we can pester them about it. Thumbnails for collaborations should follow the same guidelines as Individual pieces but with a bit more room for creativity. Collaborations do NOT have to follow the 6x9 page size rule. Because there is text to work with in the layout you can make your Collaboration image(s) any shape you want and we will use the fic’s text to fill in the extra space. You can even do organic shaped edges and full spread layouts. We’ll do a tutorial on this later so don’t be afraid of doing fancy things. We’re here to help y’all get it done.
Writers
Drafts for Individual Works: Page count is tight for the printed zine so we made y’all a writing template that you can copy/paste your fic into and get a feel of how many pages you’re using. Just check out this post and follow the instructions there. Don’t panic if you’re over the page count. We’ll work with you to trim it down. If we can’t trim it then we’ll select an excerpt for the printed zine and will put the rest of the pages in the digital copy. We would like to have some complete works in the printed zine though so not everyone can have an excerpt. As for the drafts, these do not need to be polished works but they do need to be complete from beginning to end. They can be super rough with no consideration for grammar or style so long as there is enough detail for us to get a feel of where the fic is going. You can have long sections of dialog with no description (I actually find this to be the best way to draft dialog) or summaries of conversations to be fleshed out later so long as we get the gist of what’s going on. It’s ok if you’ve got notes on things you haven’t figured out yet. You can even put questions in your draft if you want specific feedback such as “I’m not sure if this is physically possible, do you know?” and we will respond when you get your feedback. It’s also Ok if your draft deviates wildly from your outline. We understand how narratives can evolve. Your final story should resemble your draft though so be sure you’ve pinned down where this thing is going to end up.
Drafts for Collaborations: It is very important that you get your drafts as well as any notes, comments, descriptions, or other resources to your artist(s) as soon as possible. The draft itself should follow the same guidelines as an individual work but you also have to communicate with your artist(s) to make sure they have what they need to get their part done. Your artist(s) should be showing you thumbnails by now. Please give them feedback. If your artist doesn’t send you something by Oct 15th let us know.
Journal Entries: We’re going to wait until we get sketches for these cuz we had so many different versions we’re not sure which thumbnails are getting finished. There are a whole lot of really great images so we’re super excited and can’t wait to show you guys so y’all can pick which ones to write for.
Betas
We’ve gotten all the betas paired up so go to your Check-in page and see which fic(s) you got. Each fic should have a Beta Level listed. Most of the writers only want feedback on a nearly finished work (that’ll be November/December) but some wanted feedback on each stage and a few want to work directly with their beta. You’re expected to give your writer(s) this level of feedback so if they only want a single read then you don’t have to do anything till later. Feel free to hang out in the Discord and help any writers that ask for it though. If your writer wants feedback on each stage then you’ll need to read over what they’ve got and send an email to [email protected] with your feedback by November 1st so we can add it to their Check-in page. Don’t contact your writer directly unless their beta level says they want to work directly with their beta.
There should be a link below each fic’s summary that will take you to that writer’s submission folder. If your writer does not have a link below their fic that means they have not turned anything in. Right now we mostly only have outlines so you should probably wait until after the draft deadline to give feedback. Feel free to read the outlines though. Some of the writers have given us Google Docs with comment permissions turned on so you might be able to leave comments in the doc itself. Please still email us a copy of your comments so we can keep our information up to date and know not to pester you about doing your feedback.
A Note on Missing Deadlines
Holidays are coming up and we’ve got Inktober then NaNoWriMo to keep y’all busy so we understand the next few deadlines could be a crunch. That’s why we have so many of them. It’s Ok if you miss a few of the deadlines - except the last one, that’s absolutely final. Just be sure to contact us (in the Discord or send us an email) to let us know that you’ll be late and when we can expect you to have your work turned in. This way we don’t worry about you (we worry cuz we care). If there’s some special circumstance we can even work out an alternative schedule and any other assistance you may need to help get your work done. All you gotta do is ask.
That said, it is not fair to everyone else if you miss too many deadlines. Thankfully we only had a few people miss the first deadline and one of them has set up an alternative schedule. So long as the rest of y’all get your work in before the next deadline (which most of you have) you’ll be ok. If you miss another deadline without turning in last month’s work though, we will start to have problems.
The deadlines create a process that is designed to give y’all some structure and help you do your best work while letting us make sure that work is right for the zine. If you don’t follow the process you might end up doing work that has to be redone because it doesn’t fit the zine. No one wants that. So, please, follow the process and turn your work in on time (or at least close to it). If you don’t follow the process we may not accept your work into the zine.
Feedback on Progress
Y’all should have gotten an email with a link to our Check-in page which has all the information we’ve got on you and what work you’ve turned in so far. There should be feedback on your first check-in there and we’ll be adding feedback for every other check-in right under that as we get it in. Let us know if your feedback is missing or any other issues with the information and we’ll get it fixed. Also let us know if you did not get that email so we can send you the link.
We won’t be sending a notification email for the next round of feedback but we will have it posted to the Check-in page no later than November 1st so just give it a look then to see our comments. If you want feedback sooner than that just put ‘Feedback Please’ in the subject line of the email when you turn your work in so we know to look at yours first. We’ll respond to your request email to let you know when to check the page for your feedback.
It’s up to you if you want to wait for feedback before continuing your work but you might have to make some adjustments if you get too far ahead. We won’t force you to do what our feedback says (unless it’s about following the zine’s requirements) but we will give suggestions for development. The decision is ultimately yours if you want to follow that or not. So long as your idea fits the requirements we’re not gonna be picky.

doodles with angie’s 2017 Summary of Art
(Blank template here!)
I’ve been on tumblr for over a year now and can finally fill one of these out! Picking only 12 pieces was way harder than I thought it would be since so many things I’ve done have a lot of sentimental value or were really popular with the community, but I managed to whittle it down to those that I thought were the most representative of how I grew as an artist. I put the links to all the pieces featured under the cut with a little summary of that month’s highlights!
Thanks to all of my followers! There’s a lot of you, and whatever you follow me for - Dan and Phil stuff, Voltron stuff, DEH stuff, or just the hodgepodge of content I reblog - I really appreciate all of you sticking around. Here’s to 2018!
Check out my tumblr doodles here! I’m also on Instagram and Twitter!
JANUARY: wholesome howell i was still scanning doodles from my sketchbook and sprucing them up with the windows photo app and mspaint. any digital art up until april was done exclusively on mspaint using the touchscreen of my laptop and my finger or one of those pens with a rubber end bc my friends eventually took pity on me and gave me one.
FEBRUARY: season 3 theory: everyone takes a turn as the black paladin one of my favorite things i’ve ever done ever, and even if the theory was debunked, lance is gonna be the black paladin at least once, mark my words. also this month: dnp painting nails, something i did at 5 am that became one of my most popular doodles to my confusion; pastel phan, which dan liked on tumblr!!; and otayuri week, the first time i’ve participated in a week-long event.
MARCH: dnp!su au a good mix of scanned traditional work and mspaint doodles, though i’d become especially adept with the latter. my biggest project was for the tatinof illustration project, which i went about in a really convoluted way but i’m still really proud of the end result.
APRIL: the knight of wands i hit a follower milestone and redrew one of my favorite concepts. also this month: a really cool thing i drew for an askbox challenge and a dnp singapore-australia lookbook.
MAY: welcome home finally caved and started using firealpaca (still with my touchscreen laptop) for klance week. i got back into traditional drawing thanks to dear evan hansen, and everyone really liked this dnp and baby miles picture.
JUNE: dnp!james bond i started an internship so i didn’t have a ton of time to draw, but i did a lot with dear evan hansen.
JULY: prom night i debated using this or something from lance’s bday week, but ultimately went with this one bc it was my first involved piece on firealpaca. also this month: my first animatic for shrek the musical and dnp; and the alana’s pets doodle that kristolyn lloyd herself reposted on twitter and regrammed twice (INCLUDING THE DAY I WENT TO GO SEE THE SHOW AND SHE HUGGED ME AHHH).
AUGUST: 8/11 performance of dear evan hansen my doodles inspired by the show i saw were liked by a bunch of the cast and the executive producer of deh!!! also this month: season 3 of voltron premiered and lance became keith’s right hand man; and i hit another follower milestone and a melodramatic comic from the dnp!su au that people liked a lot more than i anticipated.
SEPTEMBER: i guess i have some walls up I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE KEITH CRIED. also this month: i finally bought a tablet and first used it for my dnp!hp patronus doodle; and i did a really cool traditional portrait of sleeping dan.
OCTOBER: inktober i did inktober using ballpoint pens on my instagram and actually finished. i made three of my most popular pieces ever this month: loverboy lance for voltron season 4; keith’s suprise bday party for keith's bday; and a stranger things/it/dnp crossover that phil reblogged on his tumblr.
NOVEMBER: bitchin’ el in that suit is hands down one of the most surprisingly cool things i’ve ever drawn. also this month: finally figured out transparency for this ghostbusters!dnp doodle; summed up pinof 9 as is tradition; and did a deh animatic inspired by ben platt’s last performance.
DECEMBER: connor murphy portrait i did a messy, sketchy color experiment inspired by dear evan hansen: through the window. also this month: a dnp!hp comic that @waterberry-strawmelon said reminded them of calvin and hobbes’s dialogue which is the best compliment i’ve ever gotten; a cute klance kiss; and a short animatic based on dnp’s gamingmas.

This year is a bit of a mixed bag, to be honest! After years of mental health struggles I finally started receiving help for it last year, and this year I've really felt the impact of that. So much impact, in fact, that this September I finally returned to college! Which of course promptly slurped up pretty much all of my free time, but ah well. I've tried to make up for it by doing daily drawing challenges, including my first ever full Inktober! Considering that my previous record from 2016 or so was 6 days... Well, a full month was pretty dang good! Also lots of Pokemon Amethyst stuff here at the tail end of the year, finally getting through that old project. Also I totally prepared this whole post earlier this month lmao. Held off until I saw a layout come around, and so I had something good to put into December. JANUARY: 3 whole drawings this month, and one of my favorites from this year too! Something about this piece just really does it for me, ngl. Also did a bunch of fanfic writing this month, based on the multiple one-shots I have with upload dates from January, and also the fact that I was writing a chapter a week as part of my executive dysfunction therapy thingy. FEBRUARY: 3 drawings, but overall less productive. Not much writing (or, well, compared to the surrounding months), and the art pieces were mostly simple or took longer than they should've. Still, nothing to complain about! MARCH: Somewhere around here I finished my first multi-chapter fanfic ever, counting 15 chapters and over 50.000 words! I was really excited about it, pretty much bouncing out of my chair when I declared it done. It absolutely stunned me that I wrote *that* many words, that I managed to complete a project of that size. (it's pretty dang impressive if you look at where I came from, but I have since finished a 60k and a 90k fic, so...) APRIL: Not only do I have 4 art pieces for April, I also have a *ton* of writing. Besides my usual weekly chapters I joined the Phic Phight (a DP fandom event similar to Art Fight but for fanfic writers), so I wrote an additional 8 one-shots for a total of 34.000 words this month. Yeah, it was a productive hecking month, and it kind of set the tone for my next few months, proving to myself what I was capable of. MAY: Wow, lots of pieces to pick from this month. After doing the Phic Phight the previous month, I decided to keep the writing train going, and started writing two chapters of fanfic a week. One for Weirdward, my next major project after Disinterred (which finished posting this month), but also one for What A Nice Surprise, which followed up Disinterred in my weekly update slot. Really productive month, really, lots of writing and drawing and experimenting with styles! JUNE: The end of my year-long fusion project! This year was very important for me, art-wise, because I finally got to finish projects I started. Which may sound a little silly, but with my executive dysfunction, I usually lost interest in projects before I got anywhere close to finishing them. Really satisfying in that aspect. Also continued to carry on my 2 chapters of fanfic a week thing. JULY:[1][2] Not much finished stuff this month, kinda let myself take a break there. Still wanted to keep up the 'draw at least 1 thing a week' thing, but kinda eased up on how cleaned up it had to be, especially since I didn't want to start a new project so close to school. Mostly played around with my superhero setting/world/thingy, to be honest! Don't have much experience with designing their outfits, so that was fun to play around with. Figuring out their aesthetics and how to knit those into superhero-esque outfits. (except for Hornet. she's an ex-villain who never changed her costume) This month also saw the end of What A Nice Surprise, my one-shot which spiraled completely out of control, and ended up beating Disinterred in word count. A neat 12 chapters and 62.000 words, there. Also we broke the heat records around here so yeah, I took some time for myself to just melt in peace, lemme live. AUGUST: Not a whole ton of art to be honest, but this ensemble pic right here was a real joy, and I really like the Totodile piece as well. I officially finished writing Weirdward, my (currently) longest fanfic, at 22 chapters and 91.000 words! And I wrote a shorter multi-chapter over July and August as well (Play Your Part, at 6 chapters and almost 25.000 words). SEPTEMBER: I'm gonna be honest, this was the month I started school again after 2 years of doing basically nothing. It was a lot of getting used to that again, let's be real. I have nothing major to show off for this month, art-wise. Outside of art, getting to start school again was a major achievement for me; finally recovering far enough (mostly through art) that I could go back. And I've done well, so far! OCTOBER: I did Inktober! Pen-based stuff, yes, but the first year I managed longer than a week. A full month, even! I also finished my longest one-shot yet (Surreptitious, counting 35.000 words), and wrote a couple of fics for EctoberWeek to celebrate my first full year of fanfic writing. Didn't quite manage the full week thanks to school, but still, 20k words is nothing to sneeze at. NOVEMBER: Inktober TWO!!! No but for real, I started off the month by finishing my last Inktober piece, and then immediately transistioned into doing daily drawings of Amethyst Fakemons. Not _quite_ every day, but I still 11 of them done before the new Pokemon games dropped, so. Pretty solid, especially since most of them were in color. I also played through Pokemon Sword in its entirety, and wrote a 12.5k fic over the span of a single weekend for a Phandom event. So, y'know, not too shabby. DECEMBER: Well, this month isn't over yet, so... Doing another traditional art challenge, this time Pokecember, although I'm only doing a single Fakemon a day. Also finished planning out the entire Amethyst dex AND region (including encounters), so! (well, okay, I still need to sort in 'regular'/unchanged/canon Pokemon but shh) And hey, look, actual digital art! Which isn't posted on dA yet because I didn't finish drawing their wings but eh, still looks good. Template by AsterianMonarch on dA

Happy #Inktober everyone! I didn't think to do a theme for Inktober this year, oops. Well, a friend told me about a template that she is going to use, and I think I'll also pull from that a couple times a week. :) But otherwise, it's all gonna be fun times and keep me in the habit of drawing! I might continue some of my favorite Pokemon in Inktober too, so who knows? Anyway, today's the first day, so have a picture of me and Pais. :) It was all I could think to do. Again, happy Inktober, and see you tomorrow!

Once again, I’m using @slylock-syl‘s Inktober Template which can be found here.
Today’s theme was “Horror”. I swear, as this goes on, I have less and less of a vision for each piece I do. I didn’t even really want to do the amalgamates, but it just kind of happened since nothing else came to mind. I’m still pretty happy with some of the effects I did on this, though, even if my characters and line work were pretty poor on this one. See you tomorrow for the theme “Eyeball”. I actually know what I’m doing for this next one. It’s gonna be a bit more lighthearted.

P.S will reblog later with a link to a speed paint I recorded.
