So I'm working on giffing something that's 4k and 60fps in my downtime at work right now, and I was curious what other gif makers like to do when it comes to this because I know we all have our own things so:

Just in case this is confusing - by frame rate I mean the frames per second of the footage itself (like a majority of footage / youtube videos these days tend to be 23.9 fps), and by frame delay I mean the delay between frames that you set for your gif program (like setting your gif speed to .05, .06, .07 etc etc). I can clarify in the replies if anyone has any questions, though

Summary: Lewis Hamilton is part-time Formula One driver and full-time fashion icon. And so is his girlfriend, Y/N Y/L/N, who's also known as a real life Barbie.

Warnings: None... but a lot of pink XD. Also this story is set in December 2023, so no broken hearts over Lewis going to Ferrari... actually maybe just a little teaser.

Author's Note: Hi Anon! This request is great and thank you so much for it, it definitely is good enough! :) I had fun writing and creating this, even though at the end it's kind of different than what I firstly intended to do. The original idea was to make Y/N very Barbie coded, but at the end I'd say she's Barbie inspired and I focused more on the fashion icon part of the request. Though there's a sweet storyline about why her nickname is Barbie, so I hope you won't be disappointed! :)

Oh my God... Anon... You sparked something in me, and I cannot go to sleep now without posting this. Thank you so much for the idea.

(I think I'm gonna make a full on comic out of this, and I will make an art at some point for this fic, but let's use this lovely GIF of Ghost first)

She's The One

Jade meets Ghost's family.

Pairing : Simon “Ghost” Riley x Charlotte “Jade” Le Jardin (OC) Word Count : ~ 1.8k words Warning : Medium to heavy angst and mentions of death, but ends with a full on fluff because you know me mate I want Ghost to be happy ok.

Title and story inspired by the song 'She's The One' by Robbie Williams

"...How's your family, Simon?" 

Jade asked Ghost. They had been having a small outing, which included watching the cinema together and going around the streetside shops to find new wardrobes for Ghost to wear. He initially thought that it was unnecessary, but as Jade insisted, he went anyway – as long as he could spend his off-duty time with her.  

He'd met her parents, and though he was apprehensive about it at first, they turned out to be pleasant and strong people. It was such an unfamiliar feeling for him, to have a family to come home to, a supportive family and kind and can take care of their own. He's foreign to that concept.

Ghost just stayed silent to her question, his expression which was usually unreadable turned sorrowful, his eyes gazing down at the pavements they walked. She thought she should change the subject before Ghost muttered,

"You want to see them now?" 

Jade opened her eyes wide in surprise, not expecting him to say anything about meeting his family this fast, and the way he said 'now'...

The woman knew Ghost wouldn't ask her that question if he was adamant as he was a straightforward person. And so, she answered, "Of course, if you don't mind it." He then proceeded to enter his car that was parked not far from where they just watched a movie in a cinema, not forgetting to open the passenger door for Jade beforehand. 

They drove for a full 30 minutes of silence, save for the sound soft songs on the radio. As Ghost drove, Jade looked out the window and understood that they were going to a familiar place that she had passed by a few times in her life. He drove to the nearest available parking area, parking his car flawlessly before stopping the car engine, leaving the both of them in complete silence. 

Jade felt the atmosphere around him grow heavy, his hands still on the steering wheel as if he was still pondering whether or not he wanted to get out of the car. He let out a soft sigh, took his keys and got out of the car. Jade got out of her own and looked at the surrounding area.

Cemetery.

The sun had disappeared behind the heavy grey clouds that constantly covered the England skies. Tiny drops of water had touched her cheek, in such a way it reflected Ghost's inner thoughts right now. 

The man looked at her, "Over here." He walked with Jade following right behind him. After about 10 minutes of walking and treading through the tall grasses, Ghost stopped in front of a group of gravestones, four of them, which were placed more tightly together than the other. The grasses were tidily short, a sign that the keepers attended to these graves properly.

Jade then looked down, reading the engravings on the stones, and her heart shattered to pieces.

"Susan Riley, November 17th, 1965 - December 24th, 2017"

"Thomas Riley, July 21st, 1990 - December 24th, 2017"

"Elizabeth Riley, May 8th, 1991 - December 24th, 2017"

"Joseph Riley, March 19th, 2013 - December 24th, 2017"

It was his mother's birthday. 

She looked up to find Ghost's eyes gazing down at the names as well, noticing that the ground he was standing on was right at the front of his mother's grave. No tears in sight, only sadness, and as an MI6 agent of two decades, she could deduce an expression of regret. Jade didn't need to wonder why, as the dates of their deaths were all the same - the reason he hid his identity, lived as no one, avoided any relationship with anyone, and the reason why he was adamant about meeting her parents – His past came to haunt, and it's target was not him. 

Jade couldn't say anything. What could she say? That she's sorry this happened? She knew Ghost hated that phrase the most, of someone pitying him, that they wished things could be different. But what use is it to wish? It happened. His entire family died because something happened during one of his missions, and his family paid the price for it.

As if on cue, she heard a small sniff from him the same second the raindrops started to grow more frequent, falling harder, creating white noises and wet spots on their clothes. Being the Londoner she was, knowing that sunny days were never really sunny, Jade fished out her floral purple umbrella, holding it above Ghost's head beside her, making sure to cover his broad shoulders fully as her left shoulder grew wet. 

She saw his face, and it was enough reason to stay silent and let him grieve. She didn't know if this was the first time he'd visited their graves after years or if he always come here at some time every year, but no matter which one the answer was, if she could see one thing, it was that his tears never seemed to run out, even after years.

Jade let him cry, the sound of his sobs completely drowned by the white noises of the heavy rain. 

She knew that he wasn't a big fan of any physical touch, nonetheless, she lifted her other hand softly and rubbed at his back, going up and down in an attempt to soothe his sorrow. And after a minute of him not flinching away from her touch, Jade mustered up her will to slowly encircle her arm around his own on his side, their sides touching as she rubbed his bicep, and going even further as she leaned her head to touch his shoulder. 

Ghost's shoulder still shook for a few minutes as he cried his heart out, Jade kept doing what she did as he let his sorrow out. 

Soon after, another surprise hit her when she heard and saw that the rain started to slow down, albeit still going down on both of them. Her other arm started to grow sore after moments of holding the umbrella high to accommodate his height, yet what alleviated the pain was the fact that she felt a small weight on her head, realizing that Ghost had eased his cries, now only soft sniffs, and that he leaned his head on top of hers as well.

He still stayed silent, not a word spoken ever since they arrived, but she knew that this was a good sign that he knew that she would be there for him, even when he was vulnerable.

"Happy birthday, Mrs. Riley." 

Jade muttered softly, the man beside her still looking down on his mother's grave even though he was slightly dazed at her words. 

"This is our first meeting, but I can tell that you were a kind person, and an even more amazing mother and grandmother."

He then glanced at Jade as she continued, "Your son is a very skilled and intelligent man, traits which I assume he got from you. He's confident, a great leader-- oh! And he's handsome as well, so that's a plus." 

That prompted a scoff out of his mouth. Nevertheless, she went on. "He's not much of a social person. He's a little bit intense and stiff - We can work on that. He shot my hand once! I have the scar to prove it. His choices of words are sometimes foul, though, again, we could always work on that." Jade joked lightheartedly, seeing him softly smile above her.

"But if there's one thing about him that I love, is that he's a strong man with a warm heart, and I don't have to assume to know that he got it from you." Jade continued. "Your son is the strongest man I know, and I will stop at nothing to protect him and make him happy."

Ghost looked down at her, astounded at her words. "Thank you for bringing him into this world. Happy birthday, Mrs. Riley." 

As she finished her message, Jade looked up with a soft smile, "I'll be sure to bring some flowers the next time we visit, and every year after that." 

She thought he was going to say something, until the arm that was intertwined with hers moved, though nervously, gliding across her back and found its home on Jade's shoulder, before lightly pressing and pulling her towards him. Jade blushed, not only at the warmth of his body but also at the fact that he initiated the touch. 

"Thank you, Lottie." He muttered in his deep voice, "So much." 

"Anytime, Love." 

After about 15 minutes of standing in front of the graves, the rain had stopped, and the sun showed up to light the rest of the day as the sky turned orange. Jade had stored the wet umbrella back in its container and hung it on her wrist before she walked back to the car per his request. Jade figured he wanted some alone time with his family, and so she obliged.

"How's she, Mum? She's a beautiful bird, isn't she?" 

Ghost finally spoke, his hands tucked inside his pockets. He then glanced at his brother's grave, smirking. "What about you, Tommy? You think she's the one?" He asked no one, not expecting any answer anyway, yet he just wanted to let it out.

"I thought I'm gonna bite the dust on some fucking rathole somewhere, and that was what I wished at some point, but..." Ghost sighed, shifting his weight on his hip, "I kind of want to die an old man, after living my life to the fullest with her-- Fuck, I can't believe I'm saying this." Ghost chuckled at his own words, not expecting it to be this heartfelt. "I'm arse over tit for her. Yeah, you're gonna laugh at me for this Tommy, but at least I didn't laugh when you said the same thing about Beth." 

"And Mum, knowing you, I think you'd like her. She's a bit like you, in a way." Ghost confessed, still eyeing her name on her gravestone, "She cares too much. In a good way, and I find it endearing." He suddenly recalled the memories he had with Jade, from the first moment they met to this moment, replaying them over and over and being surprised about how much she reminded him of his mother. 

"I want to protect her with all my life. I love her, Mum."

And with that, a burden on his shoulders felt like no more. He'd never said those words to anyone, and he might be insane to be in love with someone considering how he'd lived his life, but he'd made a promise to protect her, and if he'd be a fool, then a fool he would become.

"Anyway, she's waiting back there, and I'm hungry. So I'm going to leave you now." Ghost then stood up straight, his hands still in his pockets. He glanced at every single one of the gravestones, before looking at his mother's.

"Happy birthday, Mum."

(All of the Riley's birthdays are entirely made-up. Their date of death was also made up, but I remembered there were something with Christmas, so I'll just place December 24th to make my heart hurt more) ಥ_ಥ

People do realise he only got back from Nepal & a very big strain on his body and organs like a week ago??? Questioning him reposting at 1.30am or 3am means nothing. His sleeping is going to be messed up for weeks. Also reposting stuff twice is an easy mistake, he’s probably exhausted and forgets which he’s reposted as confusion can happen when re-acclimatising to normal altitude and reality after that. You only see the bit on other blogs and ignorant people making assumptions and acting surprised about something, getting outrageous about something that they could have known already for a while..... if you pay attention to the right things that is, not to the things that do not matter at all. 🙄

Yes, I agree very much, that trek he did, the affects it has on your body, it doesn't matter how well you are trained or how much you always live in a jetlag style off life, it has a strain not only on your body also on your mind as well. Just go figure it's not for nothing he waited to take that opportunity after he had no more responsibilities and ties for a series he has been working on for all these years. And we all know this is something he always wanted to do.

And then OMG she turns up in Glasgow posting from EDA... oh wow. Let's just throw out all common sense and make things fit a certain narrative. Let's just simply ignore how Sam has been posting all Christmas Day constantly from 7am until after 11pm. Because that's what you do when you try to hide you're in London secretly meeting up with somebody who announced her presence there weeks ago. Right? Let's just pay attention to the fact he posted at 1.30am and 3am the night after Boxing Day (where he also posted almost all afternoon). Let's just conveniently forget that there are a ton of other options, like going out with other friends in Glasgow, or having some good times with family like his brother and newly wed wife f.i. or falling asleep on the couch while watching Netflix (his latest follow on Christmas Day) and I can think of lots of other options.

Nope, we just go by the one option that fits our narrative, right? Cause we all want some entertainment, and so we just claim he was with her in London without a shred of evidence, not even a voice or hand to be recognized not even a matching cloud on the horizon. And my persistent Ash-Anon (how I call her) is all satisfied as she get's her way with all the attention she so hard tried to stir in this fandom and now she can accuse him again of all kind of mischief.

Yes, my inbox keeps flooding, even while I write this post. I already lost count. The weirdest things, because... you all take this one narrative as a basis and lose all sense of reality focussing on minor things that do not matter and by ignoring things that do not fit the narrative and other simple options and things like:

You really think Sam would fly one day to London while knowing she would be in Glasgow the very next day? Especially after a trip that wasn't peanuts and had its strain on his body and mind? That he wouldn't spend time with family and friends in these holidays after that trip but run to London cause his employee is there all alone? And gosh why would they not meet up at some point, have a drink or dinner or whatever together while she's in town, why would he say no? Is that in any way proof he started to date his employee, or have some hidden relationship with her?

Even though it is a bit awkward how Ash pushed herself into his circle of friends, is it that strange she'd go to EDA to work out? Is it strange that when she follows 3.231 (and we thought Sam follows a lot!^^) that it she follows a lot accounts mutually as Sam does? And by following them, are they suddenly all her friends as well? Do you really think Ash never traveled before in her job representing the Jagermeister brand? Like she doesn't know anybody else in London but the people and places connected to Sam? Like she doesn't know anybody else in Scotland but Sam? (what about Shiobhan who became her bestie?) But nooooo... she traveled to the UK during the holidays, she can't have anything to do in the UK. She can't have any other friends there who told her about hogmanay in Scotland perhaps? Oh wait, that doesn't fit the narrative, let's just skip that, okay? Because then we have entertainment and we all can go on telling how somebody else must live his or her life, because we all know better than themselves.

The buddietommy hockey!au no one asked for~

Buck and Eddie are a d pair. Obviously. They've been a d pair for a good chunk of their careers. While they're not always always on ice together (sometimes Coach gets experimental with the lines) there is a very good bet that if the team is down, Diaz and Buckley are going over the boards at the same time.

Eddie is a little more forward minded. He's the defense that can put up points if the opportunity arises. There's been a few seasons where Eddie has somehow been the goal leader for the first few games, before the team gets their legs up under themselves. Buck blocks. He's throwing his body down to the ice to catch that fucking puck. He can and has taken a puck to the jaw to stop it from finding the back of the net.

They're also bros. Buddies, if you will. They roomed as rookies. They're neighbors that carpool. Multiple fans have posted selfies where they ran into Eddie and Buck at the same time at the grocery store or something. (Chris is very purposefully not in view, because Eddie is very strict about not putting his son in the lime light.)

They also. You know. Help each other out ;) like good bros do. It's casual. It's always been casual. Often on the road. Hand jobs or oral or rutting against each other. They don't fuck, that'd be gay. But they do... come in each other's mouths. Shut up. They're both straight. It's fine. It's casual. They don't do it when either of them has a girl. It's just when they're single. When they're bored. When they've had a good (or a bad) game and want to let off that extra energy.

And then Tommy.

Tommy was actually a rookie on their team, before either of them were drafted, and long since traded away to a different conference. He's getting close to retirement, one of those players where it's a shame he hasn't been on a Stanley Cup Winning Team yet. This season Tommy's signed back on as a veteran goaltender, in order to be a good influence to the 24 year old goalie that's on the roster.

And both of them are lowkey obsessed with Tommy.

It starts off as normal defensemen behavior. Don't touch my goalie. Don't look at my fucking goalie. You good babe? Great save out there, you're like a fucking wall. Beaut of a pad save. Standard run of the mill "I Love and Support My Goalie" behavior on both of their parts.

But then Tommy starts hanging out. He just moved back to the city and is renting a place near their neighborhood, so of course he's now in their carpool. He's terrible at video games, and Chris loves to destroy him. He grills on Eddie's back porch. He crashes on Buck's couch.

Tommy was brought on to mentor their rookie goalie, but oops. The rookie gets injured early in the season. Tommy becomes the starting goalie. He's a veteran on the game, it makes sense. And then somehow, on the tail end of his career, he really starts fucking cooking. His save percentage is fucking ridiculous. He's managing saves and shutouts and statistics that are normally reserved for goalies 5 years younger. He's never been an All Star Goalie, but this season he will be.

Buck comes up to Eddie at some point in mid December, and explains that he's seeing someone.

"Oh nice, what's her name?" Eddie asks with genuine curiosity.

"Well," Buck says, going a little pink, "It's not-it's different. I'm not seeing a girl."

And Eddie blinks and then stares, as Buck begins to stumble through an explanation that he's seeing Tommy. They're not gonna come out or anything, it won't be public, but they're together and it's serious.

It's not a big deal. Of course it's not a big deal. "I'm happy for you bro" Eddie says while his mind is reeling. Apparently Buck wasn't as straight as he thought.

Nothing changes. Everything changes. Tommy's still there. Still in Eddie's house, still playing video games with Eddie's kid. But now Tommy's fingertips are gently tracing patterns on Buck's upper arm. Now Buck is busy looking at Tommy with open tenderness. Now Eddie sees them kissing each other 'hello' and 'goodbye', soft and careful. Tommy's good for Buck. Better for Buck than any of the other people he's dated in the past.

Eddie's left watching their relationship start to grow, slow and gentle and sure. Like it was inevitable. Eddie's left wondering what it is about Tommy that made Buck want to be serious, when Eddie's been here the whole time. He's not jealous. He's not.

This might be their year though. They've gone from being a 'maybe' team for the playoffs to a 'definitely'. Eddie wants the cup. He wants it like an ache. Whatever is going on with Buck and Tommy is secondary to that. He shouldn't be thinking about it.

He thinks about it so much.

Lisa smiled when she saw that Nico followed her back but her confidence that she had yesterday, to know him more disappeared. She decided to ignore it and wait for a moment to write to him. As much as she wanted to talk with him, she was aware that both of them are in a relationship and it might look suspicious. Lisa flew back home and focused on the start of the season, completely forgetting this hockey guy.

Second season for Lisa started great. Her team was winning almost every single match and they ended the year 2019 in great spirits. Since it was National Team time for handball, she had free time and decided to go with Sander to England. She wanted to support him because he started playing for a new team and helped him with moving on there. After New Years Eve, the Norwegian League returned to playing but this didn’t last long for Lisa. During one of the games, she picked a serious injury.

It’s been two months since Lisa’ operation. She was slowly coming back to her strength when the pandemic hit. Everything was locked and she couldn’t even travel to be with her family back in Trondheim. She was stuck in Kristiansand by herself because Sander was in London where he was playing. She tried to occupy her mind with tv shows and movies, especially since the league was cancelled. 

When Nico found out about Lisa’s injury, he wrote her a message with best of wishes in recovery. He was keeping her company on long distance. He was stuck in New Jersey by himself because Maya was studying in Bern. She didn’t expect that but they started talking more and more. She was teaching him everything about handball while he was teaching her about hockey.

“You got a red card because you pulled another girl by her hair?” Nico said amused.

“Yeah” Lisa laughed at the memory. “It was bad but I lost it at that moment. And to be honest, she was pissing me off the whole game”

“I didn’t know you’re aggressive like that” 

“I am not! Well, maybe sometimes but enough of me. Have you ever been sent off the ice?” Lisa asked.

“No, I’m always playing fair play” Nico said proudly.

“Bullshit! I don’t believe you” 

“Why?” 

“You look like a guy who likes to fight” Nico looked shocked at her.

“And you don’t look like a girl who likes to pull others hair because she’s mad at them”

“It was one time!” Lisa growled while he was laughing. 

They bonded during these months where they were stuck by themselves but in June, Nico cut the contact with her off. He didn't send her birthday wishes and he stopped responding to her messages. Lisa didn’t know why he changed his behaviour towards her. When she saw Maya’s insta story with Lottie and Nico, she realised that he returned to Switzerland for the summer. She started wondering if she was only for his entertainment during the pandemic months but quickly stopped thinking about it. 

Lisa moved on with her life. She came back to trainings. Being fit and ready to play was everything that was important for her at that moment. Lottie and Sander were next to her all the journey and she was thankful for having them. She missed the first month of the games but in October, she finally got the green light to return.

Lisa saw that Nico liked her post and laughed. She couldn’t believe that he wasn’t responding to her but was in her likes. This whole situation was hilarious for her. Lottie thought the same. She saw him and Maya in summer and he acted like Lisa doesn’t exist every time she mentioned her. Two friends had fun about this and the way he was acting. 

“I completely don’t get it. He forgot about my existence for four months just to like my instagram post? Ridiculous” Lisa laughed.

“I don’t know what to tell you. He’s acting like you’re his side chick that he needs to hide from Maya when you know her and she knows you” Lottie said.

“Right? And I’m in a relationship too so I seriously don’t know why he decided to stopped talking to me” 

“He’s just an idiot for that. Ignore it Lisa. You’re better than him” 

“I should but I really want to know what happened. I thought we’re friends” Lisa sighed.

“I’ll talk to Maya and maybe she’ll know something more” Lottie proposed. 

“I don’t know if this is a good idea. I don’t want them to argue, who knows how she’s gonna act when she finds out that her boyfriend was talking for three months with another woman”

“You have a point… Just leave it behind and let the world decide what’s next” 

“Okay, let the world decide” Lisa giggled.

Sander didn’t find it funny when Lisa told him about this. He felt jealous that she was talking with him during lockdown. He wasn't a possessive type but now, when he heard the story, he started. Lisa never gave him a reason for that but her talking with Nico was suspicious for him. She tried to explain it to him, but he didn't want to listen. They’ve been on long distance since he moved and preferred to be careful. She decided to accept his change, knowing there’s no point to argue over something that’s not existing.

“You’re making a problem where there’s none” Lisa argued.

“I just don’t like you being all friendly with him. What’s so tough to understand?” Sander stated.

“Your behaviour is tough to understand” Lisa rolled her eyes. “We were just talking, nothing happened. He’s in America and I’m in Norway”

“Why are you acting so defensive?” Sander placed his hands on hip.

“Why are you acting like a dick?” 

“You’re emotional” Sander signed. “I just… I feel bad knowing that you’ve talked for three months with a different guy. Non stop to add”

“Baby, we’re together. I would never do anything to ruin our relationship. I love you and only you” Lisa hugged him. “Plus he’s in a relationship and I would never ruin another woman's happiness” She placed a kiss on his lips.

In November, to her surprise, Lisa was called up for the National Team. It was a dream for her to represent Norway and now she got the chance. She never thought that after her injury, she’ll be back in her form and the fact that she was in the squad just month after the recovery got her confidence back. 

Whole tournament was successful for Norway. They didn’t lose a game and celebrated a win. Lisa became champion of Europe. This was her first big win and she couldn’t believe it. At the beginning of the year, she was wondering if she’s even gonna come back to playing and now, she could celebrate being European champion.

PFFT-EH?-EHHH? It's confirmed daylight savings time? Then take down the posters that've been up for 30 episodes implying it was November, you goofs.

I'm thinking Hazel showed up around September or October (i.e. before the November Sneezy Hawkins dance and we know she was in school for a few weeks before the exam at the end of "Teacher's Pal," because she told us), then Antony came home for winter break, and now it's March. That gives us a good estimate of things like founder's day and Dev's birthday. In fact, we know exactly what the length of time between those two dates is because Dev told us his birthday was 9 years, 7 months, and 14 days ago. I guess that checks out since Antony probably came home in December. If it's March for daylight savings, that would be another 3 months. This also implies Dimmadelphia is farther south than Dimmsdale, which occasionally saw snow (though it's possible godkids were wishing for it). Dimmadelphia doesn't seem to get snow.

Or he could just say "set your clocks BACK" as soon as I unpause and I'll just... sit here with my little notes. it's fine.

We're confirmed for fall, then. Possibly Hazel's been here a year if the posters are to be believed, but also at this point, those posters stay up all year round, so they're not to be trusted even for Episode 1. Unclear what the summer situation is, but I'll make a proper timeline another time.

I would say this is the key episode to build a timeline around. Then roughly place Dev's birthday and then Founder's Day the appropriate time apart and fill in the blanks.

Looks like "Operation: Birthday Takeback" aired July 31st, which might be a good place to start if I want to canonize Dev's birthday date for fanfic purposes.

Founder's Day was around school because Dale was prepping during "A New Dev-elopment," when we know school was in session, so I'll do math and consider my options when I'm done with Season 1.

So... Dev just told Hazel someone has a crush on her, but I find that hard to believe because they're at odds and I can't imagine he has good reasons for chatting like this.

He called her a nickname, which he only does when they're not friendly. And no Peri to give her any clues...

I would not trust this man, but I respect the hustle.

It's not that she's into someone else, and it's not that she has anything against Jenkins specifically. She just is way too anxious and doesn't want to deal with it.

That said, it's funny that Dev's description of Trev was "He's my bud, so he probably won't give YOU time of day" and Trev is out here like "I am totally down to give Hazel the time of day." He's just chillin' and smiling. I like him.

Wow, it took absolutely 0 thought for Dev to yell loudly about how in love he is with Hazel [in this time loop] for the whole hall to hear.

I am once again fascinated by how he's never cared for "maintaining a reputation" at this school in any way and he's willing to dropkick whatever "cool, tough, and closed-off" persona he's formed at the first sign of what he thinks is a better future.

I like how Dimmadomes are known for putting the Dimm name on everything, but we keep seeing Dev's first name used (such as in the episode title "A New Dev-elopment" or Peri's quote "I'm going to take you from Dev to Dev-ine!")

It gives me the vibe that yes, he's a Dimmadome, but he's a little disconnected. Wow, it's a pun AND sadness!

I can't stop thinking about how annoyed he sounded when the time came to finally tell Vicky his last name. All the other Dimmadomes repeatedly introduce themselves by their full name... but he holds back.

Also, I like how the O-pairs are always down for anything. Dev is their special boy <3

I really really like them for some reason and I'm sorry because I can already tell any Dev 'fic I write is going to lean into them. My curse of getting attached to weird background characters unfortunately continues and these might be the worst ones I've ever fallen for. So, yesterday my dad didn't get me plantain (in the "3d") but i didn't care, i kept saying that i had it still and that he's going to buy a plate for me every night until Sunday because that's when i go grocery shopping lol. Tonight, he came one time with nothing but i couldn't care less, i was still doubting but every time i would just re-affirm in my head and tell myself that he's coming now with a plate and quickly imagine myself eating the plantain, the crispiness of it and the smell. I imagined him knocking on my door with the plate and everything.

He came again with what ? my plateee !

I also, in middle of November (that's around the time i found your posts), my grandma told me that my extended family was going to come here on the 15 of November .. i did NOT want that, it was too close so i just told myself that they would come on the 15 of December. Mind you, i had my doubts and when i heard noises around her house, i would think "that's probably them" but instead of entertaining that idea, i just told myself that me doubting or saying that doesn't change the fact that they're going to come in December. Today, in the afternoon, she came and said that they're coming in December for 2 weeks, i was so happy ! i didn't ask her the exact date but i know it's the 15 because i said so.

That whole "who cares if i am doubting because it's done and is already happening/happened" ideology is making it so much easier for me, i have a big mass that is lifted and affirming intuitively is the best.

I also ended a 4 year relationship with my abusive ex and while it might not be manifesting but your posts about uplifting yourself and not giving in on negativity made me stop beat myself down so much less and also helps me stop putting myself down and instead uplifting myself and i am done with him. Summary:

December was a cold month, which got colder and colder with each of the other months' passing. Derek was changing with each of them, following the blossoming season or the more lasting days, healing from broken sobs and finding new homes in starry nights. Stiles was a perpetual existence throughout the year: the reliable shelter from the rain of the storm, the petals for the sweet perfume someone adored, the breathing lungs of the summer haze and the warmth which melt the icy glades. But could they make December warmer for somebody's sake?

(or, Derek couldn't handle the month that took away his family once, and he can't handle it when it comes again despite the better condition Stiles helped him reach, so when December arrives, Derek can't see things are actually fine and does something to stop another tragedy from happening)

Do You Have The Time?

A Thorough Dissection of What Past Aevium Means For You

So I've been reading through @/jazz-kitty's rejuv playthrough (not actually tagging them bc this will contain spoilers for shit they've not gotten to but if you're reading this Jazz, keep up the good work! It's super fun to read through your playthrough :>), and I've realized we got some concrete dates (in a fashion), meaning that, we might be able to figure out when Storm 9 happens, within a couple months! As well as some other details.

Anyways even if you don't want to hear my rambling about dates, there's gonna be something I really want to share underneath the cut, I'll put some big bold header text so you know where to scroll to.

Now, it all starts here, with Melia's Mimikyu, which we are there to see caught, giving us a concrete date, October 10th, 198X.

Now you may be asking yourself, but Sparkie, the screenshot says 1984? That's because my buddy Nym, who is on the dev team, stated that to its memory, the year is calculated based off your system date. Meaning that the year will change depending on the year you play Rejuv in. However, Jazz's post that I got this from does mention in the tags how the rest of Melia's pokemon are caught from 1981-1983. I had an old save file kicking around that was near Blacksteeple, and checking "Emma's" Pokemon in that I can also say that these dates are variable based off system time. Being 198X-3 through 198X-1. For simplicity's sake we're going to be based off of System Time being the year 2024, mostly because shit like 198X-1 is hard to read. But just keep in mind that as Rejuv is set in 202X these dates have about a 10 year range they can vary by, this will come back later, take note of this.

I want to establish before we go forward, you can also see how this works for yourself rather easily, if you go into the past and catch a pokemon, the date it's caught at will be your system time, minus 40 years. This, combined with some plot elements such as Melia's birthday being after she catches this Mimikyu confirms that the past segments take place exactly 40 years before present day, with the Time Crystals not sending you back or forth to a specific time and date, but rather a set amount of time forward and back (in this case 40 years).

Anyways, this also lets us know that Storm-9 happened a little over 39 years ago as of the game's start, and at some point during the game's time span we will hit the 40 year anniversary. I always thought it was 50 years before the game's start, I don't remember if I got that from somewhere in game or it's just one of them things I got in my head, but between the wiki and a reply from Zumi on one of my tweets it's actually 40. If anyone has the same misconception I had, I hope that clears it up.

But through what we can gleam in game, we can actually tell (roughly) when Storm-9 happens! Judging by the fact we can still visit the past at the end of the .karma files, Storm-9 has not hit the past yet. It's going to happen very soon, but it's not there yet. Thankfully, we have a very concrete date on when that would be, December 25th, 2024, as the Xen Raid is just one day later. Meaning, that as of December 25th, 1984, the Aevium region is still fine. This combined with the fact that there is a note on the door of the house occupied by the A-Gang near Hyoshi City that says they'll be out until the Summer means that they are going to be at school until late May, early June, assuming it runs at similar time frames to a school in the U.S.. Meaning that, at some point, most likely in Early 1985, but possibly for about a week in Late 1984, is when Storm 9 hits. You could extrapolate more (i.e. no teachers/other students in the academy during the Interceptor's Nightmare Realm means people might've been on break, meaning it was Late 1984 and the gang was just hanging out at the academy) but as that's explicitly stated to be not entirely accurate to how that day actually was, I'm not going to do that.

Anyways, now that you've heard me ramble about dates like your history teacher, we get to the fun part! That being I get to tell you about the A gang! That being we know the protag choices are 17-18 years old, and given that we know Storm 9 happened in either very Late 1984 or Early 1985, we can assume that the A-Gang were those ages during Storm-9. Meaning their birth years could range between 1966-1968, placing them firmly in Gen X, meaning they are chronologically old enough to be some of the people reading this's parents!

But that's not all, do you remember how I stated that Rejuv took place in 202X, meaning it could be any year of the 2020s? And thus, the past segments take place in any year 40 years before that, in the 1980s? If we were to say, put the year Rejuv takes place in in 2020, then that would mean the A Gang would be born in the years 1962-1964.

The general consensus on baby boomers is that they were born between 1946-1964.

The A Gang could, conceivably, be baby boomers.

I was gonna make a collection like the last few times but thanks to his majesty Mister Tony Curran, I’m going slightly insane now, so this one is gonna be a little shorter (I’ll write another one during the weekend) but this one will be about M&G, so buckle up :D

 I need to reiterate this in case my position in this gets misunderstood: My writing about “candies” isn’t because these are MY opinion or things *I* found or *I* believe in them being evidence. I am just a translator and messenger.

Chinese people have a very different understanding of platonic/romantic affection/relationships compared to the Western world, and they look at the candies with rose-tinted glass. Among the “candies” I’ve seen, most of them are a matter of interpretation: yes those are things couples will do, but it wouldn’t be weird if friends did it too. So they’re not that serious or up for further speculation. There is I think only one “candy” that I can’t quite say the same, which I will explain and elaborate on in this post. 

Please remember that the people who do this do it in good nature: If they’re just friends the fans won’t be upset or betrayed or anything, they just prefer to see them as romantic. They don’t mean any harm, and they don’t cause any harm because China is physically and digitally too far away for them to actually fuck shit up, and they understand the lines of parasocial relationships: those who met with Taylor during his China trip in December know to, and didn’t bring up this in front of him. They know where to draw the line, and whoever doesn’t and starts becoming a problem gets kicked out of the community. This is meant for fun.

Nick, Taylor, Tony and M&G, what the fuck is happening

1, "My Taylor"

The day(night) after the M&G teaser was dropped was the GQ Men of the Year event that both Taylor and Nick attended, but Nick left early. The funny thing is when asked to do a Taylor impression again, Nick said “My Taylor”. Now, clearly he means “My Taylor Impression” but that didn’t stop “My Taylor” from trending on Twitter. Active Weibo rwrb fan called 激情大肥鹅 (the username means… a thing that I will not translate, go use google translate😅) commented on the boys:

2, The Crown

Mentioned this in my part 1 post in the Taylor’s China Trip section:

A fan asked Taylor to sign his and GQ magazine shoot, he first drew the moustache on Nick’s face, giggling “I’ll sign on Nick’s face”, signed his own signature, then just when he was about to give the magazine back he suddenly changed his mind and said “wait wait I wanna do something on my face”, and then drew a crown on his head while muttering “crown prince”.

So, to summarize the candies of this one fan interaction here: Historical George had such a moustache, Nick plays George, George is the King’s lover, Kings wear crown, and Taylor first drew a moustache on Nick and then a crown on himself.

… Go figure 😅

3, Alone

Currently, out of the 7 M&G posts on Nick’s Instagram, Taylor liked 3 of them: “The Son The Seducer” poster from 18 Jan, “Power breeds Power” poster from 16 Feb, and the red carpet post from last week. Note that in all three posts, we don’t see George with any of his lovers (sex partners? Idk the right word to use): the first poster is only George, the second poster is George with Mary looming over him, and the third is the cast.

4, Comments

Tony Curran (King James in M&G) commented flirty comments Nick’s GQ MOTY post and “The Son The Seducer” post. Now the weird thing with “The Son The Seducer” post is Taylor liked the post first, then Tony commented, and then A DAY AFTER HE LIKED IT Taylor went back to comment “Hell Yeah”! The likes one Taylor’s comment surpassed that of Tony’s comment (sorry sir😂)

5, Word Choice

(I really, really this one is a stretch but the Chinese fans like this one so I might as well translate) On M&G red carpet post, Taylor comments “Yeah Boy ”, and umm… the idea is he could have used “yeah baby” the same way he did during the RWRB UK VS US draw off, but he used “boy”, something not as on the nose as “baby” but more intimate/closer than something like “yeah man”

6, Twitter Likes

Whatever the fuck Tony’s doing today: Among Tony’s recent Twitter likes, there’s a couple of rwrb/firstprince posts, and a post of Taylor.

(ok this is the tin hat part, so skip this bracket if you want to you have been warned: there’s this idea that if you’re in a relationship, your friends will cheer you on and tease you and like stuff about your relationship. It’s what my friend group does with the couple in our group, it’s also what happened to the cast of my rps ship JZ that I mentioned here: during the farewell concert to their show, the rest of the cast kept teasing JZ both in and out of character (JZ were okay with it, it’s all in good fun)…so… with that logic…yeah.)

Ok I’m gonna be a bit sappy for a moment so don’t mind me

I’m honestly so stunned that we’ve gotten this far, I totally expected to either be done with this story within a year or two or move on from jsab halfway through the story. And yeah while I have had other interests during these five years, I still haven’t grown tired of jsab or this story that I’ve created. The fact that I still want to make more updates and answer more asks for this blog after all these years is just insane to me, especially since it isn’t even finished yet lmao. And don’t worry, we’re definitely in the home stretch, it’s just gonna be a bit longer than I would hope for with all my ambitious ideas and life stuff going on.

Speaking of, I’M AN ADULT NOW???? That’s crazy. I made the first posts for this blog back in middle school and now I’m in my first year of college lmao. It’s weird to look back and just really see the tangible change you’ve gone through, especially since it’s all documented like this. I think it’s even more of an achievement that I’m still thinking about these silly guys even now lmao. Cuz I don’t know about you, but most of the characters I had when I was in middle school I’ve either forgotten about or cringe thinking about them. But these guys somehow hit different, y’know? Maybe it’s because I’ve updated them progressively along with my progression as a writer as I’ve been telling the story, but I honestly don’t know.

I’m also surprised that some of y’all have managed to stay interested for so long because, my god, those early posts were so awful FHKLFSDK,, I love them for what they did for me but I think I’m allowed to hate them now for how bad my writing skills were. To those of you who have stuck around since the beginning, thank you so much, genuinely. I mean this when I say that I would not be here without all of you. You all have made these past five years worth every second, and I cherish every one of you. I also know that some people have moved on from this story or just jsab in general, and to those people, I hope you’re doing well in whatever pursuits you’re doing. It’s sad to see you go, but never forget that I cherished the time you were here, and I wish you every happiness wherever you are now. And to anyone who is new to this blog who started following either from any of my “recent” posts or if this one is somehow your introduction to me.. uh, sorry?? FHDSKFHSDK I’m kidding, but seriously, I hope you have a nice stay and enjoy this story at least a little bit.
