i cannot tell you how much i agonized over how many elements to have in my magic system for this world. at first i thought about just doing the classic four elements. since they're nice and even and i got a whole duality thing going on with light vs dark.
then i thought about doing seven (very similar to genshin's elments) and having deities themed after the heavenly virtues and deadly sins. i still like the idea but it really didn't fit with the rest of the systems in place.
ultimately i settled on modeling them after final fantasy elements. particularly after ff14. i got six elements and there's two deities per element to reflect the dark and light side of each element. and then a high king and queen that light and dark respectively.
...this is actually a lotta work for something that doesn't have a huge appearance in the story. magic as a whole has fallen out of use since technology has advanced enough to make certain things easier and safer to make the magical version redundant.
but i like having the background. like, there's gonna be plenty of ruins and vague mentions of the gods and stuff. maybe next i'll write up something about the gods. they're spoken about as being "dead" and "long gone" in myths and legends after a war between them. i have so many thoughts about them.

So.
Here's notes I have on MCSM New Order's (as of S1 anyway pretty much everyone in S2 is part of it lol) families. And when I say "notes" I mean it lol, like this is just what I randomly typed out in between classes back in November (with a couple recent additions). Grammar and spelling isn't 100% and nothing is serious. You're welcome.
Why am I posting this? For FUNNSIES. Also to hopefully share my obsession with block people worldbuilding and stories of my future MCSM fanfic with others! To encourage discussion and questions, because I like that. It's fun and I often find it helps me out greatly with writing! I hope anyone reading this enjoys! 😁
______
Olivia has a single dad (mom MIA) who moved in with his sister and nows helps at her farm. While maybe both dad and aunt are super busy and thus don't have the most time with her, they greatly love their Olivia and Olivia them. Her aunt thought for a while that her want to pursue Redstone was silly ("you have everything you need right here, and all that gallbittyglok is ridiculous!") but soon came to support her dream when seeing how passionate she was. Dad supported her Redstone interest from the start, proud that she was so smart and could understand things far beyond him. They also care for Jesse and Axel, happy Olivia has friends. She was super shy timid bahbee so extra impactful
Axel is adopted, with parents (haven't come up w occupations for them) and a couple siblings (one is older, other is younger) who care for him but don't see eye to eye at all. Axe very much black sheep. They were always disappointed with his trouble making and disagreed with his idolization of Magnus/want to pursue the griefer lifestyle. The fam greatly appreciated Jesse and Olivia as they could see the positive influence they had on Axel (also worried at Axel's lack of friends and chasing away of everyone else). Axel even became cuddlier with the family after Jess and Liv helped him open up and learn how to better express his feelings. While they still don't quite understand the griefer-ness they see he is doing so respectfully and are proud of his heroics.
Petra was a spawned baby (humans are kinda like pink sheep and have a rare chance to spawn every so often, babies having an ability to so but EXTRAORDINARY rarely. They are usually around 6 mos. old in comparison to newborns), and her cries attracted a pack of wolves who adopted her and loved her as if she were a wolf herself. Petra thought she WAS a wolf for a long time, even learning wolf body language and behaviors. Her speech sounds were mimics of nature sounds for the first few years of her life, only learning human speech/stuffs when someone came and tamed a couple of wolves from her pack. The humans in the nearby town insisted she start going to school and learning the ways of people (not that they helped her at all). Dealing with people made her even more survival oriented and hesitant to spend too much time with people. She always considered it beyond her to have and trust human friends until she met Lukas in middle school. She was struggling and Lukas offered to tutor her, Petra insisting that she pay him back with one of her famous trades, beginning their relationship. Lived with Villagers in their... villages, a couple times in the past, maybe why she's into the trade biz?
Jesse's parents care very deeply for him and have always done their best to support him. Always called him their "young warrior" upon learning about Jesse's love of the OG Order, particularly Gabriel. They're the ones who gifted him his armor stand seen in S1 Ep1. His mother is a miner and his father a gardener (that one day took a job helping with Olivia's aunt's gardens, which is how Olivia and Jesse met). They're simple but happy people. Mom is a bit more serious than the dad but still willing to have fun. Dad is a bit of a doofus, mom loves him anyway. Jesse gets his tenacity from Mom and goofball-ness from Dad. They also greatly care for Olivia and Axel, coming to see them as an unofficial son and daughter. I have a lot more about these two but that's the gist. Need to develop other guardians lol
Lukas' parents are complicated. They're snooty rich-ish creeps who have a terrible relationship (on-off? Similar to divorced? Idk there's drama), and had Lukas more as an accessory. Due to weirdness his sweet little (paternal?) Grandma became his primary caretaker from a young age and helped him become the wonderful Lukas we know today. Nurtured his love for writing?
________
P.S.
I'm figuring out the appearances of the other families but for now Jesse's mom has the same colored hair and eyes as him, which are brown and green respectively as I like to play with Red Suspenders!Jesse. His dad has tan hair and blue eyes, and the way the hair grows out from the head is similar in both parents so all 3 family members share this trait. The mom, while only an average height, is taller than her husband and Jesse is smack dab between them. I think it's cute and also unusual in a cool way to not only have a woman be taller than her male partner, but also her son. Plus the dad is just short AF considering how short Jesse is lmao
I think it's a very similar situation with Red Hairclip!Jesse (who I also like to play as), except her mom instead has features like hers as opposed to the brown hair and green eyes in the previous passage. The dad doesn't change lol

First sentence game
I was tagged a few times, by doomed-spectacles , melibemusca, and crimsonrainseekingflower so i figure I should probably do it XD not for lack of wanting to, but mainly because of bigtime depression :dab:
Rules: share the first lines of ten of your most recent fanfics and tag ten people. If you have written less than ten, don’t be shy and share anyway.
You can see all my fics here as D20Owlbear on AO3, but here’s from the last 10 fics that I wrote (no co-authored, since I prob didn’t write the first sentence lol, and skipping ficlet collection fics)
Shen Qingqiu had been imbibing for a little while now. (from User UV002 has unlocked H Mart! a LQG/SQQ/YQY throuple fic) SVSSS
A shiver ran up Shen Yuan's back and he deliberately didn't look at the figure surely stalking through one of Qing Jing peaks bamboo grove behind him. (from I Don't Take Insults Lightly a head disciple!SY/disciple!SJ fic) SVSSS
Away from the sect, up above the mountains where the water turned into blues and greens from the rays of sun penetrating down, Luo Binghe grumbled to himself and adjusted the pack on his back. (from Draw in and out of rocky rifts a Mer AU Bingge/SY fic) SVSSS
Shen Yuan woke up with a headache. (from the bingmeification of bingge via daddy kink a spicy Bingge/TLJ!SY fic with some likely ZZL/TLJ!SY in there also, very DD for obvious ship reasons, check the tags, based of doki’s artwork/au) SVSSS
It took a few moments for his head to clear from the fog of unconsciousness, his disciples' cries of Shizun! Shizun! were like small, jagged ice-picks in his brain. (from Dumbfuck Author, Dumbfuck Worldbuilding in which Immortal Binding Cables are actually a full Hishi Karada rope dress and Luo Binghe’s Spring Awakening comes on the Skinner Demon mission when SQQ gets tied up in one...) SVSSS
The elevator is broken. It's always broken; it's Hell. (from Hellevator, a zine fic about Hell’s elevator) GO
It's Tuesday, and Aziraphale is reading in his armchair by his desk waiting impatiently for Crowley to return home. (from Tuesdays are for Hotpants a zine fic in which Crowley does his best to make Aziraphale jealous enough to rail him senseless... it kinda not really works?) GO
"They were diaspora, dear." (from Good Food, Better Company, a zine fic about food, people, and the culture people pass along set in the South Downs cottage after the world doesn’t end and Crowley and Aziraphale make dinner together) GO
The world was quiet; the soft sounds that came along with nightfall in the mountains were hushed through the insulated walls of the bamboo house. (from Sweetbrier and Bamboo a domestic, soft LiuShen fic in which SQQ attempts to get LQG to do his paperwork, and they cuddle instead) SVSSS
Anathema woke with a groan and a startling realization that waking up was the last thing she ought to be doing. (from More Than Ghosts, Less Than Gods, an Anathema-centric fic about living after death, settling scores with ancestors, figuring out who exactly you are and who you want to be with all that hanging above you and what sort of destiny and fate you’re tied to... all the while coping with things beyond the normal ken) GO
I’m so bad at tagging people, and I know there’d be a lot of overlap from who I saw already tagged in other ppls posts... so please please feel free to tag yourself if you see this

would've posted this on my twitter priv but i don't wanna feel stifled by the character limit so here it goes
i am fully aware of the controversy behind some of the amphibia staff being pr0\shitters. however i'm not letting that impact my enjoyment of the show because as an asian-american, the joy of seeing asian representation in a large-scale cartoon far outweighs the discomfort i feel about those who worked on it
that being said, i definitely believe you need to be wary about separating art from artist. but that entails actually thinking critically about which aspects specifically can't be separated, instead of just going "this whole thing is automatically Bad because a Bad person made it." in amphibia's case, it's the fact that so little attention gets called to how marcy and sasha, Literal Actual Children, are holding such high rankings in amphibian society. and ESPECIALLY sasha being employed as a literal child soldier.
to be clear, i do not think it is a bad approach. many children's cartoons have kids in empowered positions, and i think it's interesting how the calamity trio are being seen differently from actual frog children due to being physically bigger than even most adult amphibians. however, combined with the context of some of the staff's views, it makes me raise an eyebrow. amphibia isn't some magical fantasyland where kids can live out their dreams of being a watered-down TV-Y version of a knight or a king. it's a proper country with very fleshed-out worldbuilding, with its own share of heavy societal issues that parallel our world's, and the show is definitely not one to shy away from heavier topics
which is why the implications of 13-year olds being in the military and government almost never being brought up is so surprising to me. sasha didn't HAVE to be written as the co-leader of the toad military. marcy didn't HAVE to be written as the king's advisor.
but here's the thing. a lot of pr0\shitters don't see children's show protagonists as children, but rather people with personalities of vague maturity that can play any role and theoretically anyone can self-insert themselves into. usually with only slightly less maturity than the adults at the least. and in most cases, that's fine—protagonists like that can resonate with a wider audience than just little humans of a similar age. usually them doing adult things is all cool and good, and in the cases where they're doing something a child Really Should Not Be Doing there's commentary on it (ex. animorphs). but when it comes to particularly sensitive topics that regularly get defended by people in power in real life—i.e. age gap relationships and sexual abuse—it's hard to ignore the optics of putting a child character in such a situation, even if they're a collection of lines that acts simultaneously like an adult and a kid. and this is where the trope of putting kids and adults on relatively the same status level starts to break down. sasha being a child soldier just ever so slightly toes the line between "eh it's just a cartoon" and "what the fuck why is no one concerned about this", and that's why i think her being written as such is a direct reflection of Those staff members' attitude towards fiction.
additionally, the general vibe of the show just kinda. feels like a cartoon made by and for weirdo adults who complained that children's cartoons didn't cater to them enough. as much as i enjoy the internet/nerd humor, it's hard for me to not feel cynical about it. or about some of the more risqué jokes/scenes. or about marcy getting impaled in the chest at the end of s2. i'm sure it's just because disney's censorship toned down every other intense scene, while they couldn't with marcy's scene because it was both leaked beforehand and Plot Important, but it feels to me like it was included for pure "oh my god this show is so DARK and ADULT!!!" shock value. i'm glad i don't interact with the fandom because i'm sure if i took a drink for every person using those jokes and scenes to "prove" that the show was "really" made for older folks, i'd die from liver disease
also that one line of sprig saying "i can't believe we tried to kill each other over a piece of fiction!!! :)" in the ship war episode genuinely made me consider dropping the show
#quan drivels#turning off replies and reblogs bc this is just a personal rant i don't want anyone to start disc horse

For the writing ask. 1 - 40 😜
ಠ_ಠ; (affectionate) (full questions here!)
Which of your fics would you keep the basic plot of but rewrite completely?
My longest published fic to date, In The Name of Love. I started it when I was younger and my writing style has changed so much that it’s so hard to tack on a new chapter and continue writing it. Also, there’s been so much development in Disco characters since I first started it that there are some things I would change completely.
Anything that you'd like to write but feel like you're unable to?
If I could write smut, I’d be a self-sustaining system. Unfortunately, I’m too shy to be able to do it without looking away every 2 seconds. (yay repression and compulsory modesty!)
I’d also love to do some angst or hurt/comfort on Raffi and Seven’s journey with loss, especially after Elnor, but it hits very close to home to me right now so I am physically incapable of writing it. Which is frustrating, but eh.
How would you describe your writing style?
I had a huge Tolkien phase over quarantine, so a lot of my writing uses very flowery, romantic, scenic description. I try to match the tone of the media of whatever story I’m telling, so for my Tolkien fics, it has a children’s storybook vibe and maybe some archaic language as well, whereas for my Trek fics, I keep it more modern and almost snappy, per se.
Do you have any OCs? Do you have a story for them?
Nope! I work with what already exists.
What's a tag you never want to use for your works even when it applies?
To be honest, if it applies, I’m slapping it on there. If it helps people find my work, I’m not complaining.
What's your ratio for rating your works?
I feel bad for saying that I do have a ratio because it’s completely arbitrary, but... 1:10, kudos to views.
Your favourite ao3 tag.
Hurt/Comfort. ‘nuff said.
How slow is a slow burn?
I’ve had IRL friends who slow burn so slow that the oven isn’t even on, so. If they make it through 2 full-volume 300k fics and haven’t openly hinted their affection to one another, yeah, that’s kinda slow.
Thoughts on cliffhangers.
As a rule I generally don’t do cliffhangers as a writer unless I have the next chapter planned and/or ready to go, just so I wouldn’t end anything on one. I don’t like them that much, but I do use them now and then for the drama.
On the topic of cliffhangers... the rest of the questions are under the break!
Top three favourite fic tropes.
Oh, oh oh! Taking care of one another when they’re injured/unwell. (Bonus points if they catch it from one another.) Putting jackets on one another when they’re asleep/cold. Black tie/gala scenarios. (Evidently.)
Three tropes that are fine but overrated.
Enemies to Lovers, tbh. coffee shop/tattoo artist AUs. Soulmates. (sorry)
If you write in more than one language, what's the difference?
Chinese says a lot more in fewer words, so I would say between my lack of fluency in Chinese and the style itself, my writing style is more curt. (Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, since my English sentences could span on and on.)
Rate your worldbuilding skills from 1 to 10.
I’d say about 7 or 8. I definitely try to have an outline of what happens outside of the fic, where they’ve come from, where they’re going to, what the setting looks like, what emotions they’re bringing into the scene. (Believe me, there’s lots of chaotic sketches in my book because I can’t draw it properly.) I’d say part of it comes from my training in theatre where you absolutely need to build a solid world for behind what happens onstage.
Write and share the first sentence of a new fic. Just that.
“Not everyone had the punctuality of a high-ranking Starfleet officer.“
What's your favourite plotless fic you have written?
A Late Night Snack, which was my first Seven x Raffi fic, actually! It’s just the two of them sharing lollipops. Something about my writing style in that fic hits really right with me still to this day, so *gives past me a pat on the back*.
Are one-shots really underrated?
I almost exclusively write one-shots, so no, they’re not! They’re great for workshopping a certain scene or moment that exists outside of a continuous canon. For me, it’s almost like painting a picture with words - one moment that exists within a canvas of a one-shot.
Past or present tense? Why?
In my past, I was a past tense girl, but I’m presently inclined towards present tense (sorry). Present tense makes a scene so much more intimate because it feels like it’s unfolding right before your eyes and it makes the characters’ choices their own, not something you’re recounting for them.
First, second, or third person?
Third person all the way. (Sorry.)
Share a snippet from a wip without giving any context for it.
““You and Seven can take the eggs or whatever,” Raffi said, turning back to Agnes. “I’ll just use my hands. They exist for a reason, you know.””
Do you work on a single project or many at the same time? How does that work for you?
I think I write one fic at a time, maybe two at most, but I definitely have more ideas swirling around in my head like alphabet soup until it’s time for me to spoon it out and work with it. Fun fac
Can you accurately predict how long your fics are going to be? If you can, what's your secret?
For my one-shots, it’s been ~2500-3500 words for a good while now, so that’s my prediction, per se. I roughly aim for a chapter length, but mostly I try to write what needs saying and call it a day.
What is it about watching the same two idiots falling in love over and over again?
It’s like looking at old photographs of people who were very, very in love and retracing all the steps they’ve been through to get to where they are today.
Dialogue or description? Why is the other one so hard?
For someone who writes a lot of description, I actually prefer dialogue. Dialogue basically writes itself when you know the characters, whereas description takes a lot of Thought and Brain Cells, which I don’t have. Once again, I may have to attribute this to me reading more scripts than books in my life.
Thoughts on flashbacks/flashforwards.
I don’t mind fics having scattered timelines and back-and-forth between the past and present as long as they’re in separate, contained scenes/chapters, but I don’t like explicitly flashing a character back in the middle of a scene when they’re in the present (or vice versa).
Is writing the whole thing beforehand better or worse than writing it as you go?
I usually have a good overarching outline/plan before I jump into a full-length fic, then I deviate if I want to. I would definitely not like writing something as I go, because I tend to go off on a lot of random tangents or cling onto plot points I’ve randomly discovered that makes the ending so far removed from what I actually started out with.
What would you describe as OOC?
anything that doesn’t fit in with my hyperspecific interpretation of one character
No, kidding. Probably when actions or dialogue happens that I feel like would not come from the character according to how I understand them. How I understand a character is usually a mix of canon, my personal headcanons, and what I like from other peoples’ headcanons.
Do you agree that one shouldn't start a story with a piece of dialogue?
For me, writing is less about following the rules and more about finding something that sits right with your story, your flow, and your style. If it’s effective for you and for your audience, there’s no problem with starting your story with dialogue, or starting your sentences with “and”, or whatever.
Any writing advice that works for you and you feel like sharing?
I write my first drafts in a notebook. And when I say drafts, I mean drafts – barely-formed sentence structures, tons of *insert x here*. The need to type up my fic from pen and paper forces me to edit it at least once.
What's the hardest thing about writing?
Finding the vision/inspiration. I go through so many periods of drought when the media I follow doesn’t have new content/if I’m off tumblr because I don’t have anything to interact with. I’m almost like a parasite in terms of creativity – if you put me in a void, I probably can’t come up with something alone.
Describe a fic that almost happened, but then it didn't.
I had a Bagginshield mistaken identity fic – basically, Character A pours out their feelings about Character B to someone they thought was Character C, only for them to reveal themselves as Character B. I have it written, I just never published it.
What was the most difficult fic for you to write (but in the end you made it)?
Recently, probably I Hate Your Heroic Love, because there were so many different ways to capture the idea I had in my head (and I had many, many iterations that spun into completely different directions).
Do you have a word/expression that you always use in your writing?
If I’m writing Saffi, you know there’s going to be strawberries.
Give your writing a compliment.
no.
Do you write to improve? Or is that not a concern for you?
I try to write the fics that I want to read, that’s it. For me, writing is less of a motor skill that you can improve by doing it over and over again, so I don’t write for the sake of improving, per se.
Thoughts on writing challenges/contests.
Wish I could do one, but every time I come across one of those blogs or posts the deadline as long gone.
How do you come up with fic titles? What's the one you're most proud of?
Honestly? Pure vibes. I look at the fic and it usually gives itself a name for me. I don’t have any I’m super proud of, but the two that really tells the story for me are Black, Silver, Grey (Bagginshield) and Sunsets and Strawberries (Saffi).
Do you research before writing or while you write? Is it fun or boring for you?
While I write, and I do minimal research, to be honest – I usually Google an answer for a question I have. It’s not totally boring but it’s not super fun, I get what I need and then I move on.
"This never happened" fix-it fics or "this happened but" fix-it fics?
“This never happened” if it’s a death, because I’m not a big fan of resurrection/necromancy. For the rest, “this happened but”, because I like exploring how people work through problems instead of avoiding them. (sorry, i’ll save the rest for therapy.)
Wildest AU scenario you have written?
I wrote that the elf colony in Ithilien was primarily a gay community. That was a time.
Write a 9-word fic.
“Why do we always have meatloaf after a funeral?”
Whew, that was a lot of introspection and a long trip down memory lane. Thank you so much @thelastuncharteddawn for sending in this ask! <3

Queen Belle, Seven Dwarves, Hades, and Mother Gothel 💖
Hi thank youuuuu 💙 sorry, I’m rly late with replies and asks but I appreciate each one @hersilentlanguage
Descendants Ask Meme
Queen Belle: Which three Descendants fics are you currently reading and/or have recently enjoyed?
So I haven’t spent a lot of time on AO3 lately but here are some fics that I’ve read before that I wholeheartedly recommend:
By @addisonwells on Tumblr
but you and i (we’ll be just fine) ; Lonnie, Doug and soft angst about Auradon’s all around fucked up-ness.
and there was a kid with a head full of doubt (so i’ll scream until i die and the last of those bad thoughts are finally out); Doug, Lonnie, Aziz, Jane and other forgotten characters that I love dearly. A lot of lore and backstory for Doug, Soft angst, friendship, worldbuilding. I cried so much
By other authors:
Necronaissance, a Story of Impossible Children; Worldbuilding, humour, angst and a lot more.By @amityravenclawelf
Heroes and Villains:So Much More; (series) an amazing retelling of D1 with a bigger focus on worldbuilding and some characters that I adore like Lonnie and Aziz, plus OC Raina, daughter of Robin Hood. i binge read this while i was supposed to be working on my college app...last Christmas. It’s literally amazing
Seven Dwarves: You can pick any seven characters to be your roommates. Who are they and why?
Okay to be frank, Idt it’d be a good idea to put me in a room with seven other people. I’m too much of an introvert for that. Let’s give it a shot though (I’m only counting movie characters because otherwise we’d be here all night
Evie; because she’s great, she could help me with my fashion and make-up (which I rly suck at) and also, I need a mom friend to send me to bed early. She just has a lot of good warm vibes??
Ben; just so I could make sure that he gets enough rest. Also, I feel like we’d get along rly well because we’re both overworked introverts. He’s rly chill but also rly cool, like he literally changed the course of history??? King shit (pun intended)
Carlos; HE HAS A PUPPY. I WANNA SHARE A ROOM WITH THE PUPPY. but also he could help me with my science homework and again, I feel like we’d get along rly well because we both just wanna mind our business. and he’s rly sweet
Lonnie; queen shit. also, we could bake cookies together and she could teach me some cool swordfighting movies. would probs get me to be more confident and stuff
Mal; girl has a sense of humour. also, an artist like me (well, I do writing more than I do drawing but still art) so we’d probably have a lot more things in common than expected. also, thriving on external validation and not being sure who you are because of it?? that’s also me?? we could help each other with that.
Jane; again, we have a lot in common. we’re both kinda shy girls with overbearing mothers (oops someone’s oversharing tonight) who just wanna discover the world more. I’d be willing to play guinea pig when she’s practicing her magic and we’d probably hit it off right away
Uma; also queen shit. I’d love to sail with her once in a while or maybe even visit Atlantica with her. Also, again, she could help me with my confidence issues with her brutal honesty and all around no nonsense attitude.
Hades: Which three Descendants songs are you singing to survive your dank cave imprisonment?
This was a tough choice but: Queen of Mean, Space Between, You and Me,
And if I may add: Night Falls, Do what you gotta do, Chillin like a villain, If Only (am I the only one who rly likes Mal’s existential crisis songs?)
Mother Gothel: If you had to spend a year alone with just one character, who would it be and why?
See, I wanted to say Jane but then I realized that two anxious people alone for one year is a recipe for disaster, we’d drive each other crazy lol. So I’ll go for Lonnie because hey, stress baking. Also, those swordfighting exercises would probs help me stay fit, esp if this is quarantine (too soon?). She also seems like the kind of gal that could handle really stresful situations more easily. I mean, she didn’t hesitate AT ALL when she went to fight a pirate crew on the Isle of the Lost...

17 Questions/17 people
Tagged by: @puelladicax
Nickname: I don't really have a nickname, and I still don't feel comfortable sharing my real name online. Sorry guys.
Zodiac: Pisces
Height: 1,7m. Sorry, I refuse to use the imperial system. It's all greek to me 😅
Hogwarts House: I'm not into in Harry Potter. I like the worldbuilding, the aesthetic and watched some of the movies, but I never got really into it. I'm actually torn between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw to be honest
Last thing I googled: Edwardian Women's clothing. Research for a story I was writing.
Song stuck in my head: "Hey Guys! It's Christmas Time!" by Sufjan Stevens. This and Coldplay's Christmas Lights are the best modern day Christmas songs
Number of followers: 92, and I still don't know why. I made this blog to talk about the weird stuff I like and to be as sappy and cheesy as possible without judgment
Amount of sleep: From 5 to 8 hours.
Lucky number: I love 2,3, 5 and their multiples. I think this is more a remnant from my school experience. Those numbers were the easiest to divide
Dream Job: To be a writer or having a fulfilling job, where I'm well paid and have enough free time to still follow my passions.
Wearing: Shorts, sandals and a t-shirt
Favorite instrument: I never played any instrument, but I love the sound of the violin and the trumpet.
Aesthetic: I'm still trying to find my aesthetic. I think I'm a mixture of Cottagecore, Light Academia and Royalcore, with a sprinkle of Fairy Tale Aesthetic and Low Fantasy
Favorite author: Terry Pratchett because of the witty prose, Neil Gaiman because of his worldbuilding, Rick Riordan because of the characters and the subject, William Joyce because of his gorgeous worlds. Also, Stephen Fry's version of the greek myths is AMAZING
Favorite animal noise: A dog's scratch noise and a little puppy's first bark
Random: I'm shy, social interactions are not my strongest suit, I'm kinda of a loner and I'm get very uncomfortable in large crowds and social events, but I also love the idea of being part of a very huge family, spending holidays very close to them and to be part of a huge friends group. Resuming, huge social groups make me nervous, huge social groups make me feel in piece, and I don't get this either.

Tagged by @corishadowfang! Thank you!
Rules: Answer the 11 questions and then make 11 of your own, then tag some people.
1: Is there a real-life location you’d like to base a story off of/in?
Would I?! Well, there’s the Byzantine Empire, modern day Greece and Turkey. Just look up some pictures of Constantinople and you could see why I’d love to have that sort of setting. I already have a story idea for it. An alt-history fantasy where the empire never fell, and mythical beasts invade Europe...
As for places I’ve already based a story off of...the entire continent of Deaco is full of nations based on real life places. The central region, the human Kingdom of Geralthin, is based off of medieval England (with better weather though!) which can be seen with such names like Henry, Elizabeth, Albert and Edward, along with the English feudal system of Earls, Dukes and Barons, along with “Shire” and “Bury” being included in some town and province names.
The Koutu Kingdom is lightly based on a blend of Gaelic cultures such as the Scottish and Irish, along with some Hellenic additions. Though their homeland is more plains than the Emerald Isle or the rough Highlands, their names reflect this. Domnall, Cuan, Conchobar...there’s also their pasttimes of the great Arena Marathon and other competitions of physical sport that draw on the Greek culture.
The Dacuni Tribes are heavily inspired by the Vikings. Their constant invasions to the south against every one of their neighbors, along with their constant use of battleaxe infantry should make that obvious. The wolfmen also share the similar “-nar”, “-vin”, “nir” at the end of a lot of their names. The tundra environment is similar as well, but I also just wanted an excuse for beautiful winter scenery and an aurora that lights up the sky.
The Pona Federation is a tribal republic that takes light inspiration from the Native Americans of North America. Light. I mostly just got the idea of their government from The Iroquois. The Pona are bipedal turtlefolk that live in a swampy marshland and mostly keep to themselves. I wanted some sort of republic among all the kingdoms of the world, so here they are! They develop into a modern, Constitutional Republic later down the timeline as well, one of the few places in the world that’s a bastion of freedom and liberty in a world full of autocrats and tyrants.
The Abinsil Kingdom is a subcontinent off the coast of Geralthin to the south that’s inspired by medieval Arabic kingdoms. The lizardfolk there are pious (for good reason), isolationist, and mystical. They have sects of holy warriors that guard the groves of saints, strange magic that bends reality around them, wardrakes instead of horses, and a minority of insectoids!
Finally there’s two places I haven’t really touched on, but are part of the world. The Qin Empire, a place based off medieval China (complete with eastern dragons that regularly patrol the skies), and the Republic of Salisca, based VERY heavily off of the United States (where humans have suffered at the hands of dragon-tyrants for millennia before gaining their independence).
2: What are some themes you haven’t used that you think would be fun to touch on?
I’ve touched on The Power of Friendship™ in Blackheart, but its strongest theme was that of determination and perseverance. Never give up! Fight the darkness! As long as you have a reason to believe, something to love, the corruption can never fully claim you!
Another theme I’d like to touch on is the blood of the covenant! The idea that bonds of friendship forged strong enough can be greater than even family! Themes of faith would be interesting too, a long and difficult journey where the hero questions their faith could have some really interesting and powerful results and messages.
3: What character have you created that’s the most like you? The least?
Gotta say Charles. While I’m not a winged, fire-breathing half-dragon wizard, our personalities are very similar. He’s shy, anxious, a bit of a nerd, but a good person and brave when he needs to be...really once you get past that whole dragon part we’re pretty much the same!
As for the least? Well...probably Razorwing. I mean, after what I just told you about Charles, Razorwing is a famous hero who’s always in the spotlight. He’s graceful, and skilled, and charismatic, and loved the world over...so you could see why I think he’s a far cry from me! He’s still a good person though, most characters in Blackheart are.
4: Are there any songs that really encompass what your WIP’s about?
Cold Rain and Snow
“What are we marching for?
What is this trial with our lives?
How will we win this war?
Who among will survive?”
5: Have you ever created unique races/monsters for a story? What are they?
There’s the stock dragons and kobolds, but aside from that I’ve strayed from typical fantasy, for the most part. No elves or dwarves for example. There’s the Koutu, a species of avian adventurers who revel in the unknown and make great company wherever they go.
There’s the wolfmen (Dacuni), though I’m sure there’s similar races in other media. They’re rough, gruff and prone to flying off the handle at the slightest provocation, but they’re ferociously loyal as well.
The Pona, the turtle-men of the East, were made from scratch. I wanted a calm, wise and otherworldly species that had the potential for interesting settings and circumstances (a tribal council sitting around a fire, surrounded by massive trees that go up hundreds of feet and block out the sky, anyone?)
The Ssalik of the Abinsil Kingdom are lizardmen, though not really based on any of other media. They’re friendly with humans and have their own things going on (the mystic magic, the drakes and dragons roaming their deserts...)
The half-dragons take that “dragonblood” thing and take it to the next level, the people taking on the forms of dragons because of it. They’re the size of humans and stand upright, but otherwise look just like dragons. Due to the transformation of body and mind, they have quick wits and an affinity for magic. As such, they make great sorcerers and paladins, and tend to be more accepted in academies and churches as a result.
Pseudodragons didn’t originally exist in the world. They were created, in universe, artificially by a powerful sorcerer. They’re tiny dragons the size of people that have natural urges to do good and help humanity. They love fruits and typically settle in human villages to help the villagers in their day-to-day jobs and activities. They’re near-universally selfless and kind.
The Qin...well, imagine the half-dragons, but use eastern dragons instead of european dragons as the base. They have long, flowing bodies, fins, whiskers, and no wings.
6: What’s your favorite book?
Probably The Outsiders. I can’t say I relate to the characters...but I feel for them, you know?
7: Traditional heroes or anti-heroes?
Traditional! I love classical heroes who always try to do the right thing! I think the edgy dark hero has gotten overused to the point that classical heroes are making a comeback in popularity, and I’m glad to see it. In Blackheart, most are traditional heroes. Paul or “Crux” is the closest to an anti-hero considering his background, but in the city of demons, there’s not much chance for anyone to be anything but heroic.
8: What is your favorite character from any piece of media?
Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series. A legendary hero of uncomparable skill that has somehow pulled through some of the most hopeless of situations, went rogue in an effort to save the world from Metal Gears, and has suffered and struggled against way more than he deserved to.
9: What is an AU of your WIP you think would be fun to explore?
Modern fantasy. There’s just something about fantasy races having guns and using cellphones...
10: Where do you get your inspiration from?
Demon’s Souls. The colorless fog and ruined Boletaria being so close to the black fog and ruined Palethorn are pretty obvious giveaways. Also D&D, as all the dragons, priests, holy magic and kobolds might make clear.
11: What is something you love about your WIP?
The ending. It, uh...kinda ruined me while I was writing it. I’m absolutely in love with the characters, too.
Now for my questions! (Mostly just an excuse to hear some worldbuilding!)
1: What’s your favorite genre and why?
2: Unusual themes or plot points that are important in your story? (Music or cooking, for example)
3: Which two characters are the most polar opposites? What is their relationship in the story?
4: Prophecy vs. Defying fate? Which do you think makes for a better story?
5: Which character are you most proud of, for any reason?
6: If your story could be told in any other sort of media, what would it be? How would you like it made?
7: Which part of your world is the most interesting, in your opinion? Location, lore, whatever really drew you into making it.
8: How much do your experiences color the world or characters of your story? Is it born of a worldview you either have or something you wish reality was closer to?
9: What government system does the setting follow? If it’s an international journey, how are the nations different from each other?
10: What role does culture play in the world? Where did you get the idea for such traditions and pasttimes?
11: How do you like your villains and heroes? How do they think and act most of the time?

hey maple! I was wondering, do you have any book/fic/story recommendations? ❤️
Hoo boy, I can certainly offer some! I’m more well-versed in fanfics than actual books but I think I’ve stumbled across my fair share of good fics over the years.
Also I’ll warn you this’ll be long.
Cycle by RoseGarden
Hot. Damn.
If you’re a Fire Emblem Awakening fan there is not a fic I can recommend to you more than this one. Cycle is easily in my top 5, no top 3, heck my absolute favourite story ever. The updates are slow - I started following it in 2016 summer at Ch 44, and the latest chapter was (at posting) 55 in 2018 winter - but this is not a complaint. This delay is understandably so because these chapters fucking deliver. Each chapter averages about 10,000-25,000 words (by my rough estimate - chapters tend to include a lot of reviewer replies from the author). This is honestly my current inspiration, and has been since I found it. I dream of writing like this one day. I cannot express how much I love this goddamn story.
Okay enough fangirling, time to buckle down to the content. From the beginning, it seems like your average but well-written insert - Robin is an FE fan and baker from the real world who wakes up to find Blue-Haired McGee and his motley crew with no idea how she ended up in the field in Ylisse. But you find out pretty quick that things aren’t quite what they seem. Mysterious unfamiliar characters are popping up, some people know more about events than they’re letting on, and Robin’s gotta figure out all this shit while dealing with her own missing memory and the responsibilities that come with playing tactician for a nation going to war.
It’s amazing. It follows along Awakening’s plot, but honestly I’m on edge the entire time, I don’t know what’s going to happen next. The worldbuilding is hefty and incredible and really brings the world to life. The character interactions are gorgeous. The characters themselves are gold. One of my favourite things is that each character has a clear and defined voice - even if there’s no narration to say who’s speaking, you can work it out by their words and tone. The character interactions are charming and even if the ships aren’t your favourite or usual cup of tea, they’re all so genuine and they work. Robin is different from what I think is the general depiction of canon Robin in fics, she’s pretty crass and blunt and the Earth culture she and the readers know shows, but she certainly stands out as her own personality and still fits in well with the Shepards. She’s also got her own issues and problems and she makes mistakes so that’s fun.
Oh, that reminds me, also be prepared for a heck ton of feels. Laughter and heartbreak in equal helpings. Always a good time.
Queen of Hearts by Circuit
One of the first, and one of my favourite, Persona 5 fanfics that I’ve come across so far. Queen of Hearts retells Persona 5 but with Makoto Niijima playing the role of Wild Card. The change in protagonist brings a few new interesting changes, the big one being the Confidants Makoto hangs out with, including people such as Shiho and original characters in the Student Council. It’s cool to see the changes caused by a Makoto-led Phantom Thieves and also the struggles she herself has with being in that position of leader.
This feels small in comparison to the wall of text for Cycle, so I’m just gonna throw in another P5 fanfic, Crimson. This one’s closer to a retelling of P5′s canon than Queen of Hearts but tackles it with a lot more realism of kids messing with the law and the big bads of P5 and includes quite a bit of Questionable And Morally Ambiguous Choices:tm:. It’s one I’m honestly losing a little interest in, hence why it’s only got this small section here, but it’s still a good fic. I remember liking the beginning and certain scenes that are thrown around here and there, but this fic starts off pretty depressing and gets even more morally ambiguous in more recent chapters. Still a good read. Queen of Hearts is just a lot lighter in comparison and that’s why I recommend it a little more.
Worm by Wildbow
Okay this one’s a little different but hear me out. Technically a web serial, Worm is an original story written on Wordpress. I found it when I read a crossover between it and Okami (also a good fanfic in and of itself, has a pretty different tone from Worm but it’s very entertaining. I’d recommend reading Worm first though since I read the crossover first and, it’s fine to read through itself, but I understood some of the details and nods only after reading Worm). Honestly, I’m still not done with Worm. There’s a lot of story to get through. But what I’ve seen so far is pretty interesting.
The story follows Taylor, a teenaged girl with superpowers, called parahumans in this universe. It starts off pretty dark, though, and honestly it stays that way. Taylor’s bullied at school and feels pretty shitty, but she wants to be a hero. So one night she tries her hand at some vigilantism. Result? Nearly gets killed by a superpowered gang leader, gets saved by a small group of supervillains her age, they think she’s actually a supervillain too. They offer Taylor to join them and she figures it’s a way to go undercover, but over time she faces an internal dilemna since she finds herself actually enjoying their company.
There’s more to the story beyond that. Like I said, I’m not actually done reading it. There’s like 30 arcs, with each arc having about 8-10 chapters, each chapter about 5000 words?? and I’ve only read up to Arc 11. It’s an interesting take on a superpowered world, though, where villains aren’t so evil, good guys aren’t so good, and there’s a whole lot of morality and gritty details that come with it.
Through Her Eyes by Peroth
A RWBY fic that actually has a remastered version currently being written. The story’s about a Ruby that actually has a different semblance than the one we’re used to. This Ruby has the power to summon Grimm - and that’s it. She can’t control them whatsoever. This leads to Ruby being stuck at home for most of her childhood and gives us quite a different personality than canon Ruby - she’s a lot more shy and nervous around people and usually speaks with a stammer. Still the badass little scythe-wielding Grimm slayer we love though. Ruby’s also got eyes pretty similar to Salem’s, which also come with a fear factor, inciting primal fear in anyone who looks at her eyes, which means she has to wear big goggles.
So there’s a lot of changes, but it still mostly follows Volume 1. Ruby goes to Beacon because she still wants to help people - with some focus on the catchup work Ruby has to do as a result of her missing school as a kid - teams up with WBY, makes friends with JNPR, usual kind of stuff. The original fic ends where Volume 1 ends, but I can’t say what changes the remastered version will bring. It seems to mostly be following the original with a few details changed or added, though.
The Shrouded Throne by Iburtide
Okay yes it’s another FE Awakening fic, sue me I’ve been through a massive FE faze. Chrobin is near and dear to my heart. Iburtide has actually written more Chrobin fics, both male and female, but I admit I’ve only read this one, The Heart of the Moon which is also a good one, and Crown of Shadows which is almost the same as Shrouded Throne but told with Male Robin (and also explicit so u18′s don’t look at it you hear me).
So Shrouded Throne (and Crown of Shadows) tells the story of a Robin who fled from a Plegian civil war to request aid from Ylisse. By the time the story starts, they’re in the employment of the Shepards, and after some words shared during a battle, Chrom offers to get Robin an audience with Emmeryn, which pretty much kicks off the story. Kinda follows Awakening’s plot but Robin knows they’re from Plegia and the civil war is between Gangrel and Validar.
I guess I’ll talk briefly about Heart of the Moon too since I mentioned it already. The Shepards get sent out to a village where a monster is stalking the woods. When they meet the creature, Chrom gets challenged to a hunt, one-on-one, with the beast. In the middle of this, Chrom comes across an old abandoned castle - or not quite so abandoned, as a young woman lives there, one who claims to be prisoner to the beast.
Both fics include fun new things like Henry being Robin’s little brother - not by blood but their relationship is cute and precious and gives me new life - and a normal Grimleal religion practiced by normal people and Validar just takes it to an extreme.
Those are a handful of ones I can recommend. I read a lot of fics though so I have skipped over some of the ones I wouldn’t say are my favourites but are still quite high on my list. These are all also multi-chaptered fics, a few of them being unfinished as well. There are more fics I wanted to talk about but they’re either one-shots or don’t have enough chapters for me to definitively recommend them. I dunno, if people want more recommendations or recs from specific fandoms like DR (which surprisingly I haven’t touched upon at all, wow it’s been a while since I’ve read a dr fic), I could do another post or something. One covering a lot of one-shots or short stories, but not speaking in as much detail as I have here oops somebody gets distracted and goes on tangents
OH AND BOOKS. Quick book recs are Percy Jackson and How to Train Your Dragon. I’ll be honest, I don’t read a lot of books these days. And I think these are popular enough that they don’t really need a big ol’ explanation from me.
#I spent like three hours writing this#which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact it's now 2am#oops#I read a lot of fics bc I generally go and look for fics once I finish a piece of media#also I kinda jumped at the opportunity to yell about cycle#look I'm really passionate about it#and fe awakening and chrobin in general#gosh it's good

3, 7, 22, 23, 48, 50!
This post ended up being really long, so… answers below the cut!
3. In your opinion, what’s your best fic?
So far, I’m really proud of how The Most Glamorous Puzzle of All is turning out; it’s giving me exercises in character development, and I can write in a lot of different styles depending on the prompts and what I choose to do with them. As the summary for that fic mentions, chapters can be anywhere between silly, angsty, and fluffy. Also, I’m having fun seeing how these two work together, both as friends and as a couple - and hey, it’s Papyton fluff, and it’s really hard to go wrong with that, in my opinion!
As for my oneshots, I really like a lot of them, but I can’t help but feel proud of With You in My Sights for condensing the development of the relationship into six brief scenes and still having it come out with nice pacing (at least in my opinion).
(I’m also quite proud of some of my NSFW fics, but given that they’re… well, NSFW, I’d rather not discuss them on this blog, since I’m trying to keep it family-friendly over here. I do have a NSFW sideblog, but so far, all I’ve done over there is publish links to my fics with the occasional text post about one of them.)
7. What’s the fic you most want to continue (unfinished or no)?
I know I want to see Glamorous Puzzle completed with all 100 chapters, but I also really want to publish more chapters for my pro wrestling AU Contendertale; I have lots of worldbuilding planned for that fic, and it’s gonna be really cool! (At least, I hope…) Also, I hope to publish more chapters to my Undertale/Mother 1 crossover Sing a Melody of Determination someday, though I think I may need to rewrite that one a little; back when I wrote it, I was still open to referring to Frisk and Chara with non-canon pronouns, but now that I’ve changed my mind about that and started referring to them exclusively with their canonical they/them pronouns, I think I should edit the story accordingly before I continue. I do have lots of cool plans for that fic, too…
(Also, I should get off my lazy behind and finally finish the final chapter of Frisk and Asriel’s Special Day; I’ve already written most of it, but I just have a little more that I need to finish.)
Heck, maybe someday, if I ever return to the Digimon fandom, I could finally finish my fic Heroes Wear Green; I may need to do a little tweaking here and there, but I had so many awesome plans for that story, and I don’t want them to go to waste (but at the same time, I’m reluctant to hand any of my stories off to anyone else). That being said, given that I’m not anywhere near as much into Digimon as I used to be, it might not happen anytime soon; besides, I still have all those cool Undertale stories to finish.
22. Has there ever been anyone who’s made you freak out because they read your work and followed/favorited/reviewed?
Well, for starters, several months ago when I published a little story about Mettaton going stargazing with Papyrus and asking him a certain question, the very same person who sent this ask left a nice review for that fic; given that I’d read a number of his fluff pieces and liked them (though I was kinda shy about leaving kudos or reviews at the time), as well as him being a popular Papyton writer, my thought process was pretty much “wait, you think my stories are good? Wowie!” In general, whenever a popular Papyton author leaves a nice review on my work, it gives me a “whoa!” feeling because their work probably inspired mine, even if only in the slightest of ways.
23. What’s the nicest review you’ve ever gotten?
It’s hard for me to pick just one, so here are just a few of my favorites (note: some of these are just excerpts from longer reviews):
you had me at “tooth-rotting fluff” in the tags. I love this stuff, it feels utterly soul-cleansing. -review for The Joys of Sleeping In (look familiar?)
[…]And I always look forward to reading this book, every time I see there’s a new chapter, I must admit, I squeal a bit xD-review for chapter 42 of Glamorous Puzzle
[…]“Who the hell am I?
I AM hell” I swear to God that was the greatest thing I’ve ever read! -review for chapter 43 of Glamorous Puzzle, from the same reviewer directly above, referring to a quote in that chapter that I was hoping people would like, since I’m proud of that quote as well.
[…]I can’t believe I missed so many good NoSleepUntilVacation stories! I need to catch up![…] -review for A Cool Day for a Cool Dude; this one made me feel like “whoa, my work is that good?”
There were a couple of other ones for one of my NSFW stories, and while both are too long to be posted here, they both warmed my heart to a huge degree (hint: one of them should look quite familiar to the person who sent this ask!)
48. Does anyone you know from outside of fandom know you write fanfic? Are they involved in the same fandom too?
I prefer to keep my fanfic life and my IRL life separate, since there are people in my life who I would prefer didn’t know about this hobby of mine, for various reasons. Since a lot of what I write involves a slightly niche pairing, and some of it is NSFW, and the vast majority of my writings are Undertale (a controversial topic in several circles), I’m kinda nervous about bringing it up. I have met some Undertale fans in real life, though, but given that they were my classmates in team projects, we didn’t really talk about Undertale as much as we talked about the assignments we were doing.
50. Has writing fanfic had a significant impact on your life? Would you say it’s entirely positive?
The thing about writing fanfic (for me at least) was that I had to write quite a few duds before I struck gold. And back in my earliest days, I wrote a lot of duds; it’s for this reason that I often feel unsure about ever returning to the Digimon fandom, since a lot of what I wrote was mediocre at best and disgraceful at worst (characters in-name-only, lots of lolrandom humor, the heroes looking like total dorks because I was in a phase of liking the villains the best - all while removing the traits that made them villains, etc.) and it was only around the time shortly before I left the fandom that I really started to take my writing seriously. It may be hard for me to think of some of the characters (both heroes and villains) without thinking of how I horribly mangled everything about them for some cheap attempts at “comedy”.
So that’s the negative side of my fanfic writing; now onto the positive! Since starting this hobby, I’ve slowly become more confident in expressing myself, and I’m believing in my own writing skills more and more. Also, knowing that a story of mine could be the thing to brighten someone’s day (as shown in some of the reviews I quoted above) is always a good motivator. Especially since a lot of what I write is close to my heart; it’s stuff that I would like to read myself. Another big thing is that, when I was younger, I was hoping to become a good artist so I could animate cartoons; I never quite got the hang of the intricacies of drawing, but I’ve noticed that my writing has definitely gotten better, so I’ve realized that maybe, just maybe, this is where my true talent lies.
And, of course, I’ve made a lot of friends (and, at one point, even found love) through both reading and writing fanfiction, and while not all of those friendships have lasted (sadly, the romantic relationship didn’t last, either), the people I’ve met because of this hobby are still very special to my heart. I think it’s safe to say that I owe a lot of my friendships, directly or indirectly, to my fanfic writing; given that, when I first started out, I was - in real life - the shy, easily-startled girl who got bullied a lot, it was much easier for me to let my guard down around people who didn’t know my IRL identity. Even though my situation has gotten better since then, I still find it easier to make friends online than in real life, since I’m more likely to find people who share common interests, like Undertale or favorite bands… or fanfiction!

Chocolate Box 2017
Hi! Welcome into my little world. I will love whatever you write or draw for me. :)
General pointers about my taste and some things that are bulletproof likes:
Pointers:
I am a fluff person, not a grimdark person. Homophobia, sexism, racism, etc., are not things I enjoy.
I like porn, and I like handholding and shy kisses, and I like friendly shenanigans and banter. Any and all ratings are great. PWP is not really my thing, though.
Casual, organic worldbuilding is really fun. For example, I’d love to know what date night options are available for couples on a Resistance base, or how Padmé deals with the bureaucracy of being a Senator, or the idiosyncrasies of the Millennium Falcon that Leia slowly learns to navigate.
Bulletproof likes:
Friendship, found family, leisurely kisses, secretly holding hands, sex in semi-public places (but not actually being caught or having someone watching, sorry, I’m finicky), very different personalities appreciating each other and becoming friends, flyboys and flygirls being hotshots, bridging upbringings/countries/planets/etc., sarcastic banter (if in character for that character), awesome hair and hairstyles, cross-generational bonding, stolen peaceful moments in the midst of war, relationships that are full of laughter.
General Note 1: I am not a fan of Kylo Ren, any ships involving Kylo Ren, any heavy angst involving Kylo Ren, or fics set during the period in which he turned. Obviously fic involving Leia or Han can totally mention him, but dwelling on him wouldn’t be great for me. (Baby/toddler/kid Ben Solo is fine.)
General Note 2 – feel free to mix and match ideas and pairings between sections, if they fit your story/artwork. If you want to write a fic in which Chewbacca holes up in the cockpit playing loud Wookie death metal to drown out the sounds of Han & Leia boning all over the rest of the Falcon, and then cut to twenty years later when he comforts Leia after the events on Starkiller Base, go for it. Or a sketch of Rey/Jessika and Poe/Finn on a double date. Etc.
Specifics after the cut.
Fandom sections:
i. Star Wars Prequel Trilogy
Breha Organa & Leia Organa Bail Organa & Leia Organa
Breha, Bail, or both, on the day Leia enters their lives.
Raising Leia and hiding her in plain sight.
What it means to raise Darth Vader’s daughter.
Teaching Leia the things she needs to know, both for now (to keep her safe) and for later (when she takes up her heritage).
The day that Leia demands to be part of the rebellion.
How much of Leia is nature (Padmé and Anakin) and how much is nurture (Breha & Bail)?
Breha Organa & Padmé Amidala Padmé Amidala & Obi-Wan Kenobi Padmé Amidala/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Bail was Padmé’s closest ally in the Senate, but Breha was her friend.
After Padmé is gone and Breha is raising Leia, Breha can sometimes see her departed friend so strongly in the way Leia holds her head, or the way Leia demands justice for small childhood wrongs.
Padmé and Obi-Wan have such chemistry in the movies. Whether you go with friendship or romance, tell me more!
During the clandestine marriage, Padmé struggles with the necessity of deceiving Obi-Wan.
It’s Obi-Wan and Padmé who fall in love, not Anakin and Padmé. How does this change the course of the galaxy?
Padmé survives, and she, Obi-Wan, and the twins go on the run together.
Padmé Amidala & Leia Organa & Luke Skywalker
Padmé survives and goes on the run with the twins.
Padmé survives and goes into hiding with one of the twins, separating the twins to keep them safer, and much later is reunited with the twin she gave up.
Obi-Wan shows up in the Force Afterlife and tells Padmé about Luke and his life on Tatooine. Later he brings her news as his Force ghost goes traipsing around during the Original Trilogy.
ii. Rogue One - A Star Wars Story
Bail Organa & Leia Organa
It’s time at last for Bail to bring Leia out of hiding. He’s not just sending Obi-Wan the plans - he’s sending Obi-Wan Leia.
Saying goodbye to Leia before going to Alderaan, knowing that the next time he sees her she’ll be on the way to becoming a Jedi, and she won’t ever be quite the same woman again.
Seeing Padmé in Leia more strongly with every passing year.
Bringing up a young firebrand and being so proud of her; sparing her what hardship and darkness he can, while knowing that he can’t spare her forever.
Jyn Erso/Leia Organa Jyn Erso & Leia Organa Jyn Erso/Luke Skywalker
The “Jyn meets the twins” ships! Setting it either before the events of Rogue One (a chance meeting while Jyn was on her own after leaving Saw, perhaps?), during the events of Rogue One (while Jyn’s on the rebel base), or afterwards (an AU in which Jyn lives) are all great.
Leia’s an 18-year-old Senator in a galaxy falling more to shreds with every passing year. She meets another young woman somewhere (Coruscant? A fact-finding mission on some planet? Whatever you like), and chats with her/flirts with her/falls into bed with her.
With the Rebellion starting up in earnest, it’s ‘live for today’. Leia kisses Jyn in the hours leading up to the departure of Rogue One, just to establish a human connection and ground all the sick adrenaline racing through her veins. K-2SO observes and does not approve.
After relaying the plans, Jyn is captured by the Empire and taken off-planet before it’s blown up. Later she’s thrown in the same prison block as Leia and rescued at the same time. Cue any of these three relationships while New Hope happenings are happenin’.
Cassian Andor & K-2SO Jyn Erso & K-2SO Jyn Erso/Bodhi Rook Chirrut Îmwe/Baze Malbus
a) I’m equally a fan of the real ending and of AUs where some or all of them live. b) I do not ship Bodhi/Galen, sorry, so please no implication of that. (I read Bodhi more along the lines of Galen’s surrogate son.)
I love Cassian and Jyn’s relationships with K-2SO and am very interested in fic or drawings involving either pair. (Or all three of them.)
Jyn and Bodhi are both exceptionally pretty and I am very shallow and would enjoy stress-relief ‘we’re gonna die’ kisses/sex.
Jyn and Bodhi become an item after the events of Rogue One (obviously a they-live!AU).
Chirrut and Baze are awesome and I would love any romance fic about them. What were their adventures like before the events of Rogue One?
iii. Star Wars Original Trilogy
Leia Organa/Han Solo
Interstitial adventures.
Alllll the banter.
Post-RotJ happiness and adventures and laughter.
Quiet moments when nothing needs to be said.
They have amazing sex, all the time and everywhere. They nearly get caught many times, but somehow they never quite do.
Luke Skywalker/Han Solo
AU in which Han and Luke are the ones to fall in love instead of Han & Leia. What changes?
Luke plays peacemaker between his boyfriend and his sister, because Han & Leia may not be together, but they still spar all the time.
Han coming back to save Luke’s ass in A New Hope because he can’t quite bear to have Luke blown to smithereens.
Han getting teased by old hardened smuggler buddies about his wide-eyed quiet boyfriend, only for Luke to surprise them a bit.
Lando Calrissian/Han Solo
Smugglers who keep running into each other on different worlds, and falling into bed on a kinda regular basis.
What is Chewie’s POV on this?
When the Milennium Falcon’s a-rockin’, don’t come a-knockin’.
Lando makes it up to Han for betraying him to Vader.
Han makes it up to Lando for stealing the Falcon.
I’m also interested in a threesome with Leia involved if you like! Or Luke, for that matter, but I think Lando was more interested in Leia. ;)
iv. Star Wars Episode VIII: The Force Awakens
Finn & Chewbacca Rey & Chewbacca
Chewbacca bonding with Finn or Rey (or both), either during the movie or afterwards. (Particularly Rey if ‘afterwards’.)
Chewbacca and Rey becoming best buddies in an alternate universe in which she does get to cruise around the galaxy as a Falcon crewmember. Han says they’re ganging up on him.
Chewbacca comforting Rey after Han’s death.
Leia Organa & Rey Finn & Leia Organa
Leia bonding with Finn or Rey (or both), either during the movie or afterwards.
Leia telling Rey what she can about the Force, answering questions about Rey’s powers, etc. (Without a Kylo Ren focus, please.)
Leia telling Rey about Luke and what she can expect from him. Humor is great.
Finn’s heard Imperial stories about Leia. She’s a legend to him. Getting to know a legend is daunting!
Finn & Rey
Finn and Rey, best friends for life.
Finn and Rey have adventures.
Finn gets to come with Chewie once to visit Rey during her training.
Rey and Luke arrive at the Resistance base and the first person she wants to go see is Finn. They share all the stories about what’s been happening to them.
Finn & Rey & Poe Dameron
More of the above! I am totally here for platonic bromances and found family and all the awesome space adventures.
Finn/Rey Jessika Pava/Rey Poe Dameron/Finn & Jessika Pava/Rey Poe Dameron/Finn/Rey
The ships! Tell me a story or draw me a picture of finding love during a time of war.
Having sex in a X-wing doesn’t sound like a good idea but you know Poe’s done it.
Porny threesome fic is always a great choice. Especially if it’s funny as well as hot.
One of them is a matchmaker.
Everybody sleeps with everybody on the Resistance base, because hey, it’s wartime and you’re only young once and you might die tomorrow.
Alternate additional option to the last prompt: and sometimes people catch feelings for each other. :)
Leia Organa/Han Solo Poe Dameron/Leia Organa Poe Dameron/Leia Organa/Han Solo
Please no dubcon power-dynamics with Poe; I love these pairings only when Poe is 100% on board (and not in Leia’s direct line of command).
Leia misses Han, whether during the AWOL years or after Starkiller Base.
Leia and Han meet during the AWOL years.
Please tell me there’s a missing ‘reunited’ scene in Force Awakens.
Han is gone for years at a time. Leia’s never been someone to pine away forlornly. And she’s always had a weak spot for flyboys...
After a long day fighting with the Republic for more funding and worrying over intelligence reports, it’s pretty great to come back to her quarters and lay it all aside. Poe gives great massages.
Poe sings in the shower, hums while he’s making breakfast, and traces poetry on her skin. Leia’s not sure if she likes it or not, but she’s coming around.
Han, Leia, and Poe all in bed together would definitely blow my mind a bit with the sheer hotness level. Anything would be fantastic; one particular image that sticks in my head is Han fucking Poe while Poe goes down on Leia.
v. Star Wars RPF
Carrie Fisher/Mark Hamill Carrie Fisher & Mark Hamill
I read The Princess Diarist, and during her difficult fling with Harrison (in which she was constantly insecure, he never talked to her or seemed to like her very much except one time that she did an impression of him, and she was so young and inexperienced), Carrie explicitly told her diary at one point something along the lines of “why couldn’t it have been Mark?!” So of course I thought - what if it HAD been Mark? I bet that relationship would have worked much better, because Mark seems like a total sweetheart.
Alternatively, Carrie & Mark’s friendship over the years.
Carrie Fisher & Daisy Ridley Harrison Ford/Oscar Isaac Mark Hamill & Daisy Ridley Mark Hamill/Oscar Isaac
Carrie giving Daisy advice about entering the Star Wars universe. Canonically the only advice I’ve heard is that she told her to fight for her haircut and her outfit more generally (e.g. no buns or metal bikinis).
Mark and Daisy bonding during filming and developing a father-daughter or older brother-younger sister type of relationship. (I love that picture of her carrying him on her back like he carried Yoda!)
Oscar and either of his older counterparts have a torrid one-night stand. This is a very shallow request, I admit it. It’d be super hot either way but especially hot if Oscar was topping, for some reason. IDK. (I am not good at giving porny prompts. I get all blushy, lmao.)
John Boyega & Oscar Isaac & Daisy Ridley John Boyega/Oscar Isaac John Boyega/Daisy Ridley
The new trio bonding! Becoming friends during filming and marketing and watching the whole world going apeshit over you.
John Boyega falling in love with either one of his costars. <3 Romance or porn are both great. (Or both.)
Felicity Jones/Daisy Ridley Oscar Isaac/Diego Luna Riz Ahmed/Oscar Isaac
Crossover pairings! Romance, porn, or a combo are all great.
Oscar Isaac is in a lot of these pairings, I’m noticing now. But he is really hot. Sob.
Also, this is of course totally totally optional but I just saw the Golden Globes and damn damn damn I’ve fallen in love with Oscar Isaac/Gael García Bernal, soooo if that appealed to you and you felt like writing them, be my guest.
Riz Ahmed/Diego Luna Riz Ahmed/Diego Luna/Alan Tudyk
And finally, the Rogue One pairings! Whether you go with just Riz & Diego or with the full threesome, I think it’d be really hot. :) You could also go Riz/Diego & Alan if that dynamic appeals to you than Riz/Diego/Alan.
