HI THERE WE GO - also can you let me know if the taglist works? tumblr is being weird about it 👀
word count: 2.8k warnings: casual intimacy themes, secrecy, conflicts of loyalty, romantic tension and suggestive content, heartache, feelings of betrayal includes: friends to lovers, fluff, best friends little sister, brothers best friend summary: sorrows sorrows prayers - heartaches, max comes to his senses and summer break happens
PART SIX previous part - next part
The celebration has fizzled out, and the quiet hum of the hotel feels almost suffocating. You’re sitting on the edge of your bed, staring at the untouched glass of water on the nightstand, your phone resting loosely in your hand. Every moment from today replays in your mind like a relentless highlight reel: Lando standing on the podium, the roar of the crowd, the grin on his face as he sprayed champagne. You’d cheered for him, of course. He deserved it. But you couldn’t let yourself get too close—physically or emotionally. Not today. Not after everything.
Your phone buzzes in your hand.
Lando: "Can we talk?"
The message is simple, but the weight behind it feels unbearable. You don’t want to talk. You don’t want to feel everything that rises to the surface when it comes to him. And yet, you find yourself typing back before your brain can catch up with your hands.
You: "Where?"
His response comes almost instantly.
Lando: "Your floor. Hallway."
You freeze. It’s unexpected. He could’ve easily asked you to meet somewhere neutral—the lobby, maybe, or the bar. But no. He’s put the ball in your court, literally meeting you where you are. You sigh, running a hand through your hair. When you open your door, you find him standing a few feet away, leaning against the wall with his hands shoved into his hoodie pockets. He looks… hesitant. Like he’s just as unsure about this as you are. His eyes meet yours, and for a second, the tension between you tightens like a live wire. “Thanks for not locking me out,” he says, his voice soft but laced with something heavier.
You cross your arms over your chest, leaning against the door frame to maintain some semblance of distance. “Figured if I didn’t come out, you’d just keep waiting there like some kind of lost puppy.”
He huffs a laugh, but it’s half-hearted at best. “Yeah, well… wasn’t gonna let this weekend end without at least trying.”
Trying. The word sticks with you, twisting itself into a knot in your chest. “What do you want, Lando?” you ask, your voice quieter than you intend.
“I want you to stop running from this,” he says simply, stepping a little closer. He’s careful not to invade your space entirely, but his presence feels overwhelming anyway. “I get it—Max is pissed, and everything’s messy, but I can’t keep pretending this doesn’t matter to me. That you don’t matter to me.”
You glance down the hallway, ensuring it’s empty before sighing and stepping back into your room. “Fine. Come in. But keep your voice down.”
He follows you inside, closing the door gently behind him. The room feels smaller with him in it, the tension between you filling every corner. You stay near the window, putting some space between you, but it doesn’t do much to ease the knot in your stomach. “Lando…” You trail off, struggling to find the right words. “This isn’t fair.”
“To who?” he asks, his brow furrowing. “To Max? To the team? Or to us?” You shake your head, frustration bubbling to the surface. “To everyone! Max barely speaks to me now, and if people find out—” “Why do you care so much about what people think?” he interrupts, his voice sharper than before. “Why does everyone else’s opinion matter more than what we feel?”
“Because it’s not just about us!” you snap, your voice rising before you catch yourself and lower it again. “Lando, you don’t get it. I’ve already lost so much because of this—because of you. I can’t lose Max too.” His expression softens, but it only makes things harder. “You haven’t lost him,” he says, his voice steady. “He’s mad now, sure, but he’ll come around. He always does. You know he does.” You look away, biting your lip. “I’m not so sure this time.”
The silence stretches between you, heavy and unrelenting. Finally, Lando takes a cautious step closer, his hands still in his pockets like he’s holding himself back. “I know it’s complicated,” he says quietly. “And I know I’ve made things harder for you. But I’m not sorry for how I feel. I can’t be.”
You meet his gaze, your heart aching at the vulnerability in his eyes. He looks at you like you’re the only thing in the world that matters, and it’s terrifying. “I can’t do this,” you whisper, your voice trembling. “I can’t deal with all of this—Max, the pressure. It’s too much.” Lando’s jaw tightens, and for a moment, you think he might argue. But instead, he nods slowly, his expression guarded. “Okay,” he says softly. “If that’s what you want.”
It’s not. It’s the furthest thing from what you want. But you don’t say that. Instead, you turn back to the window, unable to face him any longer. You hear him move toward the door, his footsteps hesitant, and then he stops. “For what it’s worth,” he says, his voice barely above a whisper, “I think you’re worth all of it. Every messy, complicated part of it.”
The door clicks shut behind him, and the weight of his absence settles over you like a storm cloud. You press your forehead against the cool glass of the window, your chest tightening as you try to catch your breath. You’re not sure how long you stand there, staring at the empty street below. But when you finally turn around, the ache in your chest hasn’t gone away. It lingers, heavy and unyielding, a constant reminder of what you just let walk away.
The silence in the room swallows you whole. It feels suffocating, like the walls are closing in. You stay frozen by the window, staring at the darkened street below, but the city lights blur as tears sting your eyes. You try to hold it together—you really do. But the ache in your chest feels like it’s splitting you in two, and before you know it, the first tear spills over. It’s slow at first, just a quiet trickle. Then it becomes a flood you can’t control.
You press your palms to your face, trying to muffle the sobs that wrack your body, but it’s no use. The dam is broken, and everything you’ve been holding back—the stress, the guilt, the fear—comes rushing out all at once. How did it come to this? The weight of it all presses down on you, heavy and relentless. You think about Max, about the way he looked at you on the balcony like you’d betrayed him in the worst way possible. You think about how much you’ve hurt him, how you’ve fractured the one relationship you swore you’d always protect.
And then there’s Lando.
You think about the way he looked at you just now, his voice soft but sure, his words cutting through all the noise in your head. “I think you’re worth all of it. Every messy, complicated part of it.” But you don’t feel worth it. You feel like a mess. Like you’ve let everyone down, including yourself.
Your knees buckle, and you sink to the floor, the plush carpet doing little to soften the weight of your emotions. You hug your knees to your chest, letting your tears soak into the sleeves of your hoodie as you try to steady your breathing. But the more you try, the harder it becomes to control the swirling storm in your mind. The image of Lando walking out flashes in your mind, and your heart clenches painfully. You think about the way his voice trembled when he said, “Okay,” like he was giving up on something he didn’t want to let go of. You think about the way he looked back at you before leaving, his eyes searching yours one last time as if hoping you’d stop him.
But you didn’t.
You let him go.
And now, you’re left with the hollow echo of your decision, and the crushing reality of what you’ve lost.
Eventually, the sobs subside into quiet sniffles, but the heaviness in your chest doesn’t lift. You sit there on the floor, staring at nothing, as the night stretches on. You wonder how you’ll face Max tomorrow, how you’ll look Lando in the eyes again. You wonder if things will ever go back to the way they were.
And deep down, you know the answer. They won’t.
---
It’s been a week and some since Silverstone, and the silence is deafening. Not just between you and Max, but between you and Lando too. Neither of you reached out—no texts, no calls, nothing. Maybe that’s for the best, you tell yourself. After all, how do you even begin to repair a friendship when so much has been broken? But late at night, when the world is quiet and your thoughts are the loudest, it’s hard to ignore the ache in your chest, the hollow space where his presence used to be. After all, before all of this, Lando was something like your best friend. The only person you had when you moved to the south of France all by yourself.
Max, on the other hand, has been… different. Polite. Distant. He talks to you, but the easy sibling banter you’re used to has been replaced by careful, measured words. It’s like he’s walking on eggshells around you, and it’s exhausting. So when he texts, telling you he’s in Monaco and asking if you want to grab coffee, you hesitate. Part of you wants to avoid it altogether, but the other part—the part that misses your brother—wins out.
You meet him at a quiet café not too far from your apartment. It’s a small place, tucked away from the hustle Monaco, and the warm, homey atmosphere does little to ease the knot in your stomach. You sit across from him, your hands wrapped around a steaming mug of coffee, and wait for him to speak. Max takes his time. He stares at his cup like it holds the answers to the universe, his brows furrowed in thought. Finally, he sighs and looks up, meeting your eyes.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about the other night,” he starts, his voice low and steady. “You and Lando.” You brace yourself, every muscle in your body tensing. Here it comes. “I handled it wrong,” he admits, surprising you. His shoulders slump slightly, and for the first time in weeks, he looks less like the overprotective big brother and more like the Max you’ve always known. “I shouldn’t have blown up at you. Or at him. It’s just… it caught me off guard.”
“Max,” you start, but he shakes his head, cutting you off. “Let me finish,” he says, his tone soft but firm. “I was angry, yeah. And hurt. Because you’re my little sister, and Lando’s my best friend. And the idea of you two…” He trails off, running a hand through his hair. “It’s not easy for me.” You nod, swallowing hard. “I get that.”
“But,” he continues, leaning forward, “I shouldn’t have made you feel like you had to choose. That wasn’t fair. And I’m sorry.”
You nod, feeling a weight lift off your shoulders. “I understand,” you say quietly. “And I’m sorry too. I should have told you.” Max’s expression softens, and he reaches across the table to take your hand in his. “No, you shouldn’t have to tell me everything,” he says gently. “I should trust you enough to know that if there was something going on between you and Lando, you would have told me.”
“I’m not saying I’m okay with it,” he interrupts, holding your gaze. “I don’t think I ever will be. Not completely. But I also don’t want to lose either of you. So if this is something you really want…” He pauses, exhaling slowly. “I’ll try to deal with it. For you.”
You squeeze his hand gratefully, feeling tears welling up in your eyes. Max has always been fiercely protective of you, but right now, as he sits across from you with his messy hair and tired eyes, he just looks like a worried brother who wants the best for his little sister. “I’ll talk to Lando,” Max continues, breaking the comfortable silence between you two. “I’ll apologize to him too.”
His words are like a lifeline, pulling you out of the storm you’ve been drowning in since that night on the balcony. Your grip tightens on your mug as you try to find the right words, but all you can manage is a choked, “Thank you.”
Max smiles faintly, a flicker of the old him shining through. “Just don’t expect me to be happy about it.” You let out a shaky laugh, relief washing over you like a wave. “Noted.” The tension between you softens, and for the first time in weeks, it feels like you’re starting to find your way back to each other. It’s not a perfect resolution, and it doesn’t fix everything. But it’s a step forward. And for now, that’s enough.
---
The morning sun is already warm against your skin as you wheel your suitcase across the tarmac in Monaco. Everything feels too quiet—except for the sound of your heart, which beats like a drum inside your chest. You remind yourself this was always the plan: flying to Mykonos with Lando. It’s been set in stone for months, back when things were simpler, back when the thought of sitting next to him on a private plane didn’t send a confusing mix of anxiety and longing spiraling through you.
“Morning.” His voice is soft, hesitant, as he steps out of the car behind you. He’s wearing sunglasses, his hair just slightly disheveled, and he looks like he hasn’t quite woken up yet. There’s a faint tension in the way he carries himself, though, a stiffness that mirrors your own. “Morning,” you reply, your voice sounding way too bright in your own ears. You quickly turn back to your suitcase, fiddling unnecessarily with the handle.
The crew greets you both as you board, but you barely hear them. The plane is sleek and modern, with wide leather seats and enough room to keep things casual. But even with all the space, you feel like the walls are closing in when Lando sits down just across the aisle from you.
You settle into your seat, fussing with your bag and pretending you’re completely unbothered. You’re thankful for the sunglasses hiding your eyes, giving you a shield to glance at him when he’s not looking. He scrolls through his phone absentmindedly, his brow furrowed in concentration. He doesn’t look at you, not even once, and you tell yourself that’s a good thing. The engines hum to life, and the plane begins to taxi. It’s a short flight, really, but it feels endless as you sit there, hyperaware of the silence between you. Normally, you’d be talking and laughing with everyone by now, but your other friends are joining later, flying in from various parts of the world. For now, it’s just you and him, and that fact is as heavy as the August air.
After takeoff, Lando finally speaks. “You excited?” he asks, his voice neutral, careful. He’s not looking at you, instead staring out the window at the endless expanse of blue sky. “Yeah,” you say quickly, too quickly. “It’ll be good to relax for a bit. Mykonos is beautiful.” He nods, the corner of his mouth twitching like he wants to smile but thinks better of it. “Yeah, it’ll be nice.” And just like that, the conversation ends. You chew on your lip, debating whether to say more, to ask him how he’s been, but the words stick in your throat. It’s easier this way, you decide. Easier to keep things surface-level, to avoid the deep waters you’ve both been treading since Silverstone.
The flight attendant offers drinks, and you accept a sparkling water, grateful for something to do with your hands. Lando orders the same, his voice low and polite. For a moment, you almost miss how easy things used to be. The teasing. The jokes. The way his laugh used to light up a room—or a plane cabin.
But that was before. Before Monaco, before Silverstone. Before the lines between you blurred so completely that you’re not sure where you stand anymore. When the plane begins its descent, Lando shifts in his seat, glancing at you for the first time since takeoff. There’s something in his expression—hesitation, maybe, or regret. “Hey,” he starts, his voice softer now. “Thanks for… you know, still coming.” You blink at him, caught off guard by the sincerity in his tone. “Of course. I wasn’t going to miss it.” He nods slowly, his eyes searching yours for something you can’t quite place. Before you can say anything else, the plane lands with a soft thud, and the moment passes.
As you gather your things and step onto the sunny tarmac in Mykonos, the salty sea breeze greets you like an old friend. The island stretches out before you, glittering and inviting, full of promise. You tell yourself this trip will be what you need—a distraction, a fresh start. But as Lando falls into step beside you, his arm brushing yours for the briefest moment, you’re not so sure.

"oh, it's you again."
"don't act like you're not here to see me," the man chuckled condescendingly at you, carrying a smile far too charming for you to roll your eyes at.
"what can i get for you today?", he asked after moments of enjoying your annoyance at him.
"the usual," you responded without much thought.
uselessly writing it down, he looked up at you afterwards with a wink, chuckling again when you groaned at the action.
"not sure why my uncle hired you when you're so damn annoying," you muttered.
"what you call annoying others would say is charming", he corrected with far too much confidence.
unfortunately, it was true. ever since your uncle had hired him, business had been booming for the tea shop he'd just recently opened.
it was infuriating. everyone loved joshua, regardless of how big of an ego he had.
yet here you were. surely you weren't just here for some coffee, but you couldn't admit that to anyone (or even yourself) just yet. and so you sat there scowling at the object of your fury.
"what, not gonna say anything else? just gonna check me out the whole time?", he put away the pen and small notebook book he'd been holding, instead choosing to lean on the table you'd been sitting at, "fine. do you want something off the menu then?," he smirked at you, eyes dark with something unreadable.
you bit your lip. whether in annoyance or interest, you weren't sure.
but he reciprocated. somewhat.
straightening himself back up, he walked a few obvious steps to the restroom nearby, halting his movements when he came face to face with it and turning back to look at you. leaning against the wall, he eyed you with the smirk still present on his lips. he nodded towards you and then towards the door of the bathroom, giving you one last suggestive look before crossing the threshold into the restroom.
that's when you fucked up.
~
"god, you're so predictable," joshua mumbled between heavy kisses.
you didn't even bother to mutter back an answer, knowing he had the upper hand. he always did.
this was unexpected even for you. the original plan had been to come into his workplace to annoy him, yet here you were, tongue deep in his throat while he managed to earthbend the ground beneath you in order to ensure the two of you total privacy. it was at least nice to know he'd go through extra effort to get you alone.
"nothing to say? want me to keep you here all for me, huh?"
"shut up. just fuck me," you huffed, hands reaching down to his pants.
"oh? desperate? take me out then, baby," he challenged.
his head fell to your shoulder when you began jerking him off through his pants, pulling him out quickly after and swallowing a moan at the sight.
of course he was well endowed everywhere.
"shit, let me just-" and then your skirt was lifted, panties sticking to you due to the wetness he'd caused with mere kisses and some harsh fondling of your body.
his strong arms were for more than just show, apparently, as he used them to turn you around and make you face the wall. your hands went out instinctively to hold yourself against as your back arched to give him better access.
forced to let go of his dick as he flipped you around, he held onto it instead, using the tip to run through your folds through your tiny excuse for panties.
"shua, what if someone-"
"no one's gonna see or hear us, baby. don't worry. i turned the entrance into quicksand. no one can come in," he said too casually for your liking. his head was too preoccupied on his other head.
"joshua!"
"shh. 'm gonna fuck you now, okay? be good 'n let me just ... fuck, yeah, just like that ..."
a whine left your lips as soon as he entered you, but that was the last sound you were able to let out before one of his large hands went to cover your mouth. it was demeaning, yet it made you clamp down on him.
"god, can't even pretend you don't like this. you take it so good," he groaned, "isn't it good, baby? tell me how good it feels."
you attempted to cry and whine against the palm of his hand, all while he chuckled at your weak attempts, relentless in fucking into you.
"can't make a sound, huh? bet zuko would lose his mind knowing what i'm doing to his baby sister," he mocked you.
his efforts increased then. hips met your ass, making far too much noise for what was supposed to be a public restroom. you feared more patrons would enter the establishment, that someone may hear what you were doing with your supposed nemesis, yet you never made a move to stop him.
you continued to receive pleasure from him with no complaint, allowing him to do with you as he pleased. treated like a lifeless doll, he fucked into you until you were sure you'd bruise, legs unable to stand on their own. it was more pleasure than you'd ever felt, and you hated him for it.
but the biggest pleasure came when joshua's orgasm took over him, pulling you right down with him. his hips stuttered and his breath hitched, low groans replaced by high pitched breaths into your neck.
with one last whine (unknown if it was yours or his), he pulled out, leaving you limp against the wall as he gathered whatever was nearby in order to get you presentable again.
when you finally pushed yourself off the wall to face him, you were met with a face of satisfaction so annoying it had you wanting to burn the place down. it somehow doubled in satisfaction when you attempted to take your first step towards the door, stumbling in the process.
"what, need me to call your brother to come get you?", he laughed.
"i'll kill you, hong."

I don’t really know how to feel about this, but anyway
Happy December, guys 🎄
Films of Anger | pt. 2
Part one
sebastian vettel x schumacher!reader
summary: basically brocedes 2.0 (with a happier ending), childhood friends turned rivals turned back into friends in a sappy way
warning: a bit of angst and fluff, swearing
Tumblr media
It's been weeks, almost months, since you last spoke to Sebastian and it started to get to you. You weren't used to this kind of cold distance.
Distance as such was never much of a problem, seeing as both of you were busy in different places around the world. But this was not like those times.
You saw Sebastian almost all the time, he was always there like your own shadow, but just like it, he didn't speak a word to you. He didn't even dare to look at you (at least not when you were). He only ever did look when he knew you weren't.
There was a heavy feeling building up in his chest when he noticed you around and wanted to talk to you, hang out with you, just like you always did, but something stopped him.
You felt similar. You wanted your best friend back. The one who would always play video games with you after training. The one you would sneak out with to eat stuff you weren't supposed to. You wanted your other half back. The one that was so close yet so far out of reach. It pained you to look at him and there were times, especially after a bad race, when all you wanted to do was run to him for comfort. But you couldn't. Or at least you felt like you shouldn't.
Michael watched the whole situation from the outside. He saw the longing looks the both of you threw at each other. His own heart felt heavy at the thought of your friendship ending. Corinna and him witnessed the joy brought to your face whenever his name was called. Though now there wasn't anything like it, quite the opposite actually. And it was painful to witness for both him and his wife, knowing that the tight bond knitting the two of you together was broken over something like that. They wanted to do something to stop it from breaking any further, but both felt like only you could do that.
Your brother and sister alike noticed the lack of Sebastian around. Mick and you were playing a game of one on one, something you had done since he was very young. Both inspired by your fathers own love for football.
"Why don't you hang out with Seb anymore?" He asked shooting the ball towards your goal, but you blocked.
You didn't want to tell Mick what truly had happened between the two of you, because you weren't really sure either. Dribbling past him, you used the distraction as a way to hold off your answer. Needing a moment to think anyway.
Of course you had an accident, which you still didn't think was on you, but that wasn't new. The two of you had a few crashes over the years, sometimes caused by either one of you, but you always reconciled. But not this time. Something was different. Or maybe it was just you. Maybe the two of you had just drifted apart over the years, at minimum speed, that it only took one moment of anger from the both of you to cut the string that held you close.
"I don't really know Micky. We had a fight and need some time to calm down, I guess." You answered your brother, who knocked the ball away from you.
"Hey!" You shouted watching him kick the ball inside the net of your goal.
Mick grinned at the goal, before turning back to you. "But you are still friends, right?"
You didn't answer, not sure yourself. It still felt like you were friends, even if neither of you spoke. You reckoned that that would never change. But you didn't know how he felt, so you just answered for yourself. "Yes."
"Good. You too sappy without him." Mick nodded, taking the ball, you had just talked out of the net with your feet, away from you and once again dribbling it away from you, once again scoring. You laughed shaink your head at his cheekiness.
"There was a time when I used to beat you all the time."
"Yeah, when I was five." Mick chuckled, preparing to once again take control of the ball.
"Ey, be quiet." You gently pushed your brother. The blonde laughed while you tried not to be hurt being beat by a 12 year old.
The next race weekend approached quicker than you'd hoped and over was the small break you had at home. You and your father both packed your bags and got ready to race once again.
"Fernando!" You called out to the Spaniard, running down pit lane, nodding at him when he turned around.
The both of your wearing the familiar Ferrari red, marking you teammates.
"Good morning, y/n." He greeted you stopping for you to catch up and walk down the pit lane together.
"Morning, Nando. How was your time off, done anything fun?" You started the conversation, holding your hand up to cover your eyes from the bright sun.
You had to admit you missed what Fernando was saying, as you just passed the RedBull Garage and you unintentionally made eye contact with a very familiar RedBull driver. You held eye contact, neither of you ready to break it.
The usual distance you recently felt coming from him wasn't there. It was as if the short break betwene the races kind of reduced the anger, or whatever it was, from his mind.
You had turned your head away from him, back to Fernando, but you could have sworn you saw him frown sadly as you broke eye contact.
It wasn't a big change in behaviour, but it still felt weird in your mind, not used to him being so nice once again. Or at least civil. And to even acknowledge you properly.
You hoped that it wasn't just some kind of mind play, from him, but you knew that that wasn't his thing. At least it hadn't been with you.
It was during the qualifying session that you were in a somewhat fight with Sebastian. It wasn't much of a fight as you knew that this was just quali and not the race, yet.
So neither of you intentionally raced the other, but you did aim to beat his time. And it appeared he did too, as your time kept getting beaten by him.
Everytime your engineer told you your time, you requested to know Sebastian's as well, which he did give you, even if he was a bit unsure if he should. But as long as it encouraged you to drive faster, it wouldn't hurt. He thought.
Meanwhile you relived moments of your childhood. Back when your father and spent your evenings after school at the karting track. When no one else was present and it was only the two of you. His voice, soft but stern, was sounding in your head over the sound of the engine.
You remembered the moment you finished your lap, and took one of the corner as late as you dared to do. It took your breath away, but in the end you set your new personal lap record.
"That corner, yeah," Your father started. "If you take every corner, like you did that one, you'd beat them all."
You always followed his advice of course, but there was also always the possibly to do more. To go further. So you did.
And you went too far. Breaking too late, added with a strong wind in the wrong moment, suddely sent you into the wall.
Weirdly enough, the first thing you thought of when the car stopped was how horrible the media would react to yet another crash. The first one with Sebastian, was on you, according to them. The other times, after the initial crash, when you started to get a bit more aggressive with each other, was because of your hormones.
The times when you made just the tiniest mistake, was picked up by the media instantly. It was as if they were only waiting for you to slip up, to throw insults and doubts at you. To question whether you truly belonged in the world of formula one or if it was just there because of your family name.
Sebastian used to talk it all good. He mocked the media's stupidity to make you feel better. But of course, that didn't happen recently, which is why you felt even worse about all the comments being made, which only led to you doubting yourself more, with lead to you making even more mistakes. It was an endless circle.
Maybe adding onto your odd thoughts was your pounding head. Hopefully not a concussion. You tried to act tough, hiding your sick feelings, and aching body, quickly replying to your race engineer and pushing yourself out of the car.
You took a moment, after climbing out, to calm down. Sitting down on the body of the car, pretending liked you did that because you had to wait for the safety car and not because your body gave you a hard time.
'No weakness. Show no weakness.'
The voice in your head repeated. You kept your helmet on, even if you wished to just take it off to breathe better.
Marshall's surrounded you, made sure you were alright and then lead you towards the arriving safety car, while taking care of the crashed car.
___
"I don't know why I keep messing up so bad, Papa." You told him as you left the medical centre. The impact you had sustained was hard, 30G. But you tried to push through the aftermath. Michael came over to the medical centre right after qualifying and interviews (which you gladly didn't have to attend), to walk you back to the hospitality and then to the hotel. He wanted to make sure that you rest.
"Don't be too hard on yourself," Your father started. "that is what makes you mess up. You lose confidence and get scared."
Michael wasn't known for talking around the point when it came to racing. He felt that if there were words that can help you get better, they should be said, no matter how hurtful they may be. You knew that, it was always something you appreciated.
"I'm not scared." You replied honestly.
There may be some fear in your body when you drove, but that only fueled you to go further, to press for more. It wasn't the kind of fear that led you to be scared, but to go even harder than you thought would be possible. You loved the adrenaline, when you did something dangerous. It gave you an extra boost. "I think I just can't concentrate. I feel so... I don't know.
Michael watched you for a moment, halting in his words, as he let it sink in. Deep down he had his suspicions what might cause your loss in concentration.
"You need to talk to Sebastian." He announced. You bit your lip, but didn't say anything.
Michael was right, of course. He was most of the time. But you didn't know if you dared to speak to Sebastian, yet. You weren't scared of driving your car dangerously, but to talk to Sebastian. You were not that brave. Not yet at least.
Your father didn't really mention anything regarding Sebastian after that. He took you back to the hotel and insisted that you'd spent the rest of the day in bed, just as the medical team had ordered you to do. You didn't resist that order as you felt your body ache from every movement. You head was feeling liked it would explode. It was difficult for you to move your neck and raise your arms as the G-force hit you straight on.
After your father left, it wasn't difficult for you to fall asleep. And you stayed that way until you were awaken by a knock on your door in the late evening hours.
You didn't realise who stood in front of you for the first few moments, still too drunk on sleep.
"Sebastian?"
"Hey." He whispered, almost unsure if he should be there. "Uhm, your father gave me your hotel and uh room number, I just wanted to-"
You didn't know why you did what you did, but it just felt right to hug him right then and there. You felt Sebastian suck in a breath, before carefully hugging back, his grip so light in fear of putting a hand wrong and pushing you away from him.
Slowly you let go of him, frowning over your own actions. "Sorry, I don't know why I just did that."
Sebastian shook his head, smiling softly. "No, it's alright."
"I saw the crash today. It looked bad, I just wanted to make sure your were alright. I know we, uhm-" he looked for a word to describe your current relationship. "We haven't really talked in a bit, and I know that's kind of my fault, but I just felt so helpless, not being able to visit you after a crash like that because I felt like I'd lost every right to do so."
"You would never lose the right." You interrupted his rant, watching his hands nervously knit each other, while he watched them too scared to look at you. You remembered your fight with him and th way the words had stung. You were so angry with him whenever you remembered them, but now that he stood here, in front of you, looking like a sad puppy, you couldn't help but want to forget all of it.
"Well, after the shit that happened between us-" Sebastian argued.
"I know." You felt the same way, like you'd lost your right to care about anything regarding him. "I think we're just idiots."
Sebastian chuckled, nodding agreeing. "Yeah, we are. You more than me."
"Oh?" You replied teasingly, a tone which he didn’t quite pick up on. He looked up eyes wide, his mouth opening as apologies spilled out, in fear that he had pushed it too far once again.
"Hey, hey. It's alright, I was only joking. Probably not the best time to do that." You quickly replied to calm the poor guy down.
"No, you're fine." Sebastian stated. "I just… I want to fix what went wrong between us. I miss you. It was stupid to let such a thing do all of this. I was so wrong for doing this to you.“
You noticed how you still stood in the doorway, which probably wasn't the best place to have that type of discussion.
"Do you maybe want to come inside?" You stepped aside and held the door open for him.
"Oh." He whispered, also realising where exactly he was standing. "Yes, of course."
Sebastian stepped inside, and you closed the door. You turned back to look at him. He looked more than unsure of himself. Nervously fiddling with his fingers, wipping on his feet as he let his eyes move around the room, taking it all in.
“Listen, y/n. I know I messed up badly, I said things that were so incredibly shit. It was wrong for me to say all those things, to throw the same shit at you that the press does. I know that you didn’t get into f1 just because of your name, I should know that better than anyone else. I don’t know why I said that. I hate that I said those things and I regretted the words right after I said them.”
“Why didn’t you say anything then?” You asked, watching him patiently. Sebastian gulped before shaking his head. “I don’t know, I think I felt too ashamed and embarrassed.”
“That was really messed up, Seb.” You crossed your arms, frowning at him. Your chest felt heavy.
“I know. I know how you hate to be reduced to only your name, but I was just so angry at everything in that moment, that I let it out on you. It was so wrong and I am so incredibly sorry, y/n.”
You nodded, your own head filled with the moments he referred to.
Sebastian hesitated, his eye taking you in, analysing the way you feel. He knew you inside out, every little habit you had, he knew the meaning of. So he saw the hesitation inside you. How the voices in your head argued over whether to forgive or to fight him further.
"Please forgive me." He whispered, trying to aid the side of you wanting to forgive him.
Internally, that decision had been made some time ago. You knew Sebastian just as well as he knew you. You knew how he ticked and how he sometimes struggled with idioticy. Talking before really thinking, especially after being pumped on adrenaline.
He never truly means the words he spoke in anger. Sebastian was never the type to insult people, especially you. You could only think about the regret he had been carrying around these past weeks, almost overshadowing your own anger at him. Almost.
A part of you didn't want to forgive him just yet. It wanted prove that he really meant it, ignoring all the times he had already proven it. The times he cheered you up, speaking words of affirmation after the press made some ridiculous statement and spoke highly of you afterwards to everyone who'd listen, just to make them forget any bad word ever uttered.
And the more you thought about where or not to forgive him, you realised that you had already forgiven him. But you weren't able to fully admit that, yet.
"I'm really glad that you came." You answered instead, breaking the silence that started to build up.
"Yeah?" Sebastian asked, looking hopefully at you. His big blue eyes held a distant fear much like the one you felt when you thought it might be over. Which was now overshadowed by the light of hope for a rekindling.
"Yeah." You agreed honestly. "And I missed you too."
"Good." Sebastian smiled. "Then I don't feel sappy on my own."
"No."
"How are you, then?" Sebastian continued, looking you over. "I haven't heard much about the crash, only that it was like 30G. I've been worried."
You smiled at his words, the care in his voice brought a familiar warmth, one you had missed over the last few weeks. You went over to sit down on your bed, gesturing for Sebastian to join you. "I’m feeling better than earlier today, but still a bit weak. My head is pounding and I'm having a hard time with my neck and shoulders. But other than that I'm surprisingly fine."
"Are you cleared to drive tomorrow?" Sebastian asked while sitting down beside you.
"Yeah." Nodding you ran a hand through your hair. "They still want to do a check in the morning, but they said that I should be alright."
"So, you're gonna race?" He continued a bit worried, but he knew that even if he tried he wouldn’t be able to change your mind.
"What, scared I'll beat you?" You chuckled looking at his soft expression. Sebastian chuckled as well, shaking his head. "Always. No, but I was really worried. It looked a lot worse than how it ended up being. I though you might get seriously injured. And I know that that's part of the sport, but all I could think about was that I never apologised. That you might always believe that I couldn't stand you."
"Seb-" You halted in your words, before throwing your arms around your best friend. Pulling him towards you, his own arms pulling you closer. "I didn't think that you couldn't stand me, at least I hoped."
"But still. I wouldn't have known, that you didn't think that." He muttered against your shirt.
"You know now, and that is what counts." You reminded him, rubbing a hand up and down his back.
"Could we talk things through, get on common ground and get this over with. I really don't want something like this to happen again." Sebastian asked now with more confidence. " I don't want to lose you again over silly things."
"I don't want to lose you either over silly things, Sebby." You agreed using the nickname you hadn't used since you were kids. His groan of annoyance at fueled your laughter.
And for an moment then, it was like back when you were just kids, fueled by nothing but passion, friendship and capri-sun.

a/n: I feel like I should have added more drama, like a bit more beef between the two before they rekindled, but I didn’t have any ideas for more dialogue, lol.

Tumblr media
description: you decided to visit schlatt in new york.
a/n: still kinda on hiatus, but i didn't want to leave yall hanging 😔 another fic's coming some time in december, trust 🙏
Tumblr media
You hated rain in New York.
But you couldn’t complain too much when you were only visiting for a week. The rain had started when you landed. Intense splashes against the airport windows made you frown as the sky above darkened and thunder crackled in the distance, causing you to let out a sigh as you hailed for a taxi. You concluded after multiple visits to the city that the weather in New York was bipolar to say the least. Time Square was cool and the pizza was cool too. You had hoped to say the weather was cool like the rest of the things you listed off, but it was not.
Your shoes and jacket were wet by the time you clobbered up the stairs in his apartment building, your hair had managed to survive, but it was still damp in some places. One hand pulled your suitcase up on the stairs as you shook your umbrella, rain droplets coating the steps. Once in a while, you’d stick by the wall like a fly, letting people pass you by. Apartments in New York were the size of a shoebox and you shuddered to think about the rent - no way someone could afford to live here. People in the Big Apple either had family money or they sold crack on the streets, that’s what you remembered someone talking about it on some social media platform. You couldn’t keep up with the amount of sites that had popped up in the recent years. You only ever managed to circle through four apps and even then they were too much. (You logged out of Twitter each time you tweeted because what the fuck was that damn app on?)
You knocked on the door, letting your hand fall back down to your side as you waited a few seconds. Usually, your spur of the moment, impulsive ideas tend to backfire on you - like when you decided to surprise your family for Thanksgiving, only to find out that everyone was out of town and your key didn’t work - you had forgotten that the front door was replaced after your brother accidentally kicked it in. Your mother still tells that story to anyone who was willing to listen, and you just kept sliding down in your seat in a fit of embarrassment, hoping that God would make you disappear. You could hear some cursing and loud clattering on the other side of the door, causing you to a face as you questioned what was going on in there.
The doorknob rattled and the door swung open, making Schlatt blink in confusion as he looked at you like you’ve grown multiple heads in the span of a five hour flight from LA to New York. He said your name and you nodded, he blinked and said it again - to which you nodded again. His confusion was justified as you were supposed to be in LA and not in New York. And definitely not in front of his apartment looking like a soaked cat.
“So, you gonna let me in?” You started, running a hand through your damp hair. “The rain outside is terrible, I don’t even know how you-” Your almost rant was cut off by Schlatt closing the door in your face. Uhm okay then, wow. You were going to be offended, but he opened the door once again, having the realization that you standing in front of his apartment wasn’t a figment of his imagination. He should probably get more sleep.
“Sorry,” Schlatt sheepishly mumbled, rubbing his eyes with the palm of his hand, looking tired. Jambo and Soup meowed loudly behind him, making you laugh while he grumbled. “You’re supposed to be in LA,” he said once he ushered you into the apartment, dragging your suitcase along the floor, making the cats jump around as they sniffed and pawed at the suitcase, trying to figure out what it was.
“I finished the thing early,” you closed the door with a small click, “thought I’d surprise you.”
Schlatt let out a laugh, “Yeah, you definitely surprised me. Coulda sworn I was hallucinatin’ for a sec there.”
“I missed you,” you told him as the two of you stood together in the living room, the city outside now dark with lights turning on.
He pressed a kiss to your forehead, mumbling. “I missed you too.”

"i have no home now"
i remember a while back when this episode was still being highly anticipated people were debating whether or not stolas would be stripped of his title and powers, maybe even hired by blitz, and why that might be a bad thing
i'll just rip this straight from the post i found in my likes:
"Saying that Stolas needs to abdicate so their relationship can be healthy implies that a commoner really CAN'T be with royalty"
the thing is that i don't think that's necessarily what the show is trying to imply. i'll give them some credit, they posted this in august, i forget when exactly apology tour came out but i think there was a general acceptance that they'd be back together by the end of the season
i don't think that's the case either and here's why;
i think one of the overarching themes of this season is how blitz simultaneously ruins and saves people--whether or not these are his intentions varies from person to person
for example, those he believes he's ruined are his sister, fizz, his mom, and verosika
verosika is an outlier because of the fact that a) the three prior were close enough to be considered family, b) the three prior can all be pinned down to the same event, and c) i feel like he definitely meant to at least piss her off, as a means to push her away
you don't "steal their car, run three rings to wrath and max my credit on shitty horse-riding lessons" because you think it'll brighten someone's day
those he's ruined mostly want nothing to do with him, or keep themselves at a distance; barbie wants nothing to do with him, verosika hates his guts (used to, rather), and while they definitely care about each still, his friendship with fizz is not what it used to be
but now, with IMP, he seems to be on a trend of making a life for himself and giving others a new chance
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
these images are always paired together as like, "before and after" and i'm sure it's been mentioned dozens of times, but again--there is an outlier, and i think in this case it's moxxie
with millie and loona blitz identifies their struggles himself
Tumblr media Tumblr media
with loona, he sees how rough she acts on the outside but sees the soft interior and recognises himself--he wants to give her a real chance at a life, free of judgement
with millie, it's essentially the same deal, except millie straight up tells him about her struggle to make a living and he offers her a job
Tumblr media
but with moxxie, there is no "identification", at least not to the specifics. he's in jail, moxxie's in jail, things suck regardless. if anything, maybe blitz figured that being incarcerated was "the struggle", which is probably fair; i don't think you're gonna get "my dad is a sociopath, my mom left/died and my boyfriend left me for dead" first try
moxxie was not special to him in this moment; blitz didn't recognise some divine struggle or empathic connection, they've known each other for 30 seconds and know literally nothing about each other. blitz is looking to break out and see his daughter, that is his goal here. the question was not, "what is this guy's struggle?" the question was "can this guy work a gun?" and the answer may or may not have been yes
Tumblr media
and you can tell, like...just by the way blitz looks at him after. it is so possible that he just planned to ditch him after they both got out but ended up not doing so for whatever reason. like, "oh wow, that definitely meant more to him than it meant to me"
that seems to be the case with all of the people he's helped in one way or another; he can't even see that he helps. it's confirmation bias, all he sees is the bad. he needs people to reel him back into reality, people like millie or fizz or maybe possibly stolas later on cough cough
but now back to the point i'm trying to make (and what brought this post to life);
first off, the face blitz makes once he is confronted with the idea that people would actually miss him if he was gone:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and secondly, these two lines:
blitz: you need a ride home
stolas: i...have no home now. everything i have is gone.
Tumblr media
this is stolas at his most vulnerable. he has no powers, no home, his daughter is in custody of his Bitch Wife, and he has no lover.
you could argue a few of those things in western energy but in this moment he has absolutely nothing to fall back on, he is alone.
and then blitz invites him to stay with him because that's what he does, he helps people at their most vulnerable moments. he gives them a home.
that is the point here--this isn't about their relationship right now, this about blitz having an irresistible urge to protect people he cares about and acting on it, because like it or not that's his job for the time being. he's not a bodyguard but he'll be playing that role until he dies or stolas gets his powers back.
he can finally actually protect stolas now, maybe even feel fulfillment in doing so, not having to fall back on things like "i didn't think you could get hurt" and seemingly forgetting to mention the fact that "oh yeah someone's plotting to kill you you should maybe look into that"
this is where they learn trust in each other. trust and devotion.

Mockingjay - Part 11
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi guys!
I'm so sorry for the delay, but between my health and all the work I have to do for my job, I almost don't know what day we are.
I'm glad for all the sweets messages and the love and supports I get for this serie though, it really means a lot ♥
There is a little bit of suspense here, I'll try not to make you wait as long as this time for the next chapter.
Please enjoy ♥
TW : Fight, injury, scorpions, death, gun, gunshot, angst.
Chapter Before
Tumblr media
“I’m so sorry”
“Lucy, stop” Ona sighs softly.
Lucy doesn’t answer anything, she just bites her bottom lip to stay silent. But she can’t help but look at Ona’s arm and the bruise forming on it. Even if it was to save her life, she had to hit her hard enough to at least hurt the scorpion who was casually strolling in her arm.
So, Lucy just basically saved Ona’s life, but the older girl can’t get over the fact that she hit Ona. And hurt her in the process.
They are currently sitting on a blanket, Lucy scanning the ground around them with the pocket lamp to see if there are more scorpions and eventually make them leave thanks to the light.
They are sitting back to back, just to have a better view around them. Because they shouldn’t look for the scorpions only, but for the other tributes maybe too. They don’t know where Tony went and where everyone else is. Being attacked right now could be the worst fight ever.
Ona is jumping in the air from time to time, sure that she felt one of those animals running on her body. She was wrong every time and Lucy almost had a heart attack every time too.
“Are you sleeping?” Lucy asks after a moment.
“No” Ona mumbles.
She’s tired, she must admit that. But there is no world where she falls asleep and puts them both in danger right now. It’s hard to imagine how my time passed since the night fell some hours before. Ona really hopes that it will be finished soon.
Ona changes her position when she feels Lucy’s hand reach for hers, unrolling her arms that she had wrapped around her legs glued to her chest. She gladly let Lucy play with her fingers, enjoying this little closeness even here.
Ona can’t explain why, maybe because of how tired she is, but once again their reality hit her like a wall of bricks. She feels her throat tightens at the idea that they will never be able to have this kind of moment on a lovely date, for example. She doesn’t say anything though, not wanting to make Lucy sad or even alert her.
But Lucy learned to know her, and she quickly hears Ona’s unsteady breathings, even if she can’t see her silent tears.
“What’s up?” Lucy asks softly.
“Nothing” Ona breathes. “It’s stupid”
“If it makes you upset, it’s not stupid” Lucy answers, turning herself a little to have a better view of Ona. “Are you mad at me?”
Ona shakes her head no, still looking around just in case. She doesn’t want Lucy to see her cry. She doesn’t want to pass for someone weak. And more, she doesn’t want Lucy to find her childish.
“Hey, what’s up?” Lucy asks softly.
“I just…”
Ona frowns softly, not really knowing how to say the right things. She has all those fears about Lucy’s eventual judgement and how she can see her after that. Which is particularly stupid, Lucy would never judge Ona in any way.
“I would give everything to just have one night together, only the two of us. Without the Games, the injuries… Just you and me.”
“Ona…”
Ona hurries to take her hand back, whipping her tears and sitting a little straighter. She knows they won’t have it and that it’s stupid to cry for something they will never have.
“I told you, it was stupid” Ona shrugs.
Her back is perfectly turned so she doesn’t see Lucy. But like this, she doesn’t see the sadness and the regrets in Lucy’s eyes.
“I wish I could share these moments with you too” Lucy finally whispers.
Ona feels her throat tightens once again, but not for the same reason. She doesn’t really know if she feels better now that she knows that Lucy feels the same way. Is it worse because it supports the fact that they won’t have it? Or is it better because Lucy can understand how she’s feeling?
“What kind of things would we have done?” Ona finally asks.
“For our first date, I would have brought you on my boat to watch the sunset.”
“Sounds very romantic” Ona smirks.
Lucy hums and Ona hears her moving a little before kissing her neck. It makes Ona shiver, of course, but she smiles anyway, not expecting for Lucy to talk again.
“I don’t know if that’s any consolation, but I’m yours. No matter what happens, I will always be. Only yours.”
This time, Ona turns around completely to have an entire look at Lucy. The older girl is already looking at her, her green eyes scanning the brown one’s. Getting on her knees rather than her ass, before taking Lucy’s face between both of her hands to kiss her.
The kiss is slow but full of love and Ona can’t help but let her mind fly away, to the moment they shared together on that mountain. They had a moment only the both of them finally, only accompanied by the fire.
Lucy answers her kiss, and they are finally stopped when they feel the first light and heath of the sun on their skin. Lucy sighs from relief and looks around them. It could be hard to find their way back, everything looks the same around. But Lucy understands easily with the way Ona gets up that the younger one knows perfectly where to go.
“Are we going back to the centre of the arena or do you want to look for the oasis?” Ona asks, seeming to be happy again.
“We can look for the oasis until noon. Then we can go back to the forest if we don’t find anything.”
Ona nods and accepts the dry meat that Lucy gives her before starting to walk. She still feels tired, but she knows that they must move. She doesn’t know if someone already came here before them, the sand is the same everywhere. Including in their shoes.
“Is it a palm tree?”
They were walking for almost thirty minutes when Lucy talks again, and Ona raises her head in the direction of where Lucy is pointing.
“I think it is” Ona nods after several seconds. “Let’s go.”
They turn in the right direction, Ona two steps in front of Lucy. The latter is particularly attentive to everything, the fact that the two other girls might still be here hiding in her mind. When they are close, she softly grabs Ona’s hand to whisper it.
“Maybe they are here. Let’s be careful”
Ona nods again and squeezes Lucy’s fingers before letting her go. She can feel Lucy’s presence right behind her and it helps her to be more at ease. She feels safe with Lucy and little did she know that Lucy feels safe with her too. After all, they saved each other's lives already.
The oasis isn’t very big, but Ona must admit that it’s cute. There are a few palm trees around a very small lake. But the water is clear like a mirror, almost inviting. Rocks are around the water, as if someone had arranged seats to be able to settle comfortably in front of it.
“Someone came here” Ona whispers.
She’s looking at the rocks, but her gaze is scanning the other places of the area. Now that Lucy is looking around too, she feels the same way too. There are dates on the ground, some of them eaten and she can see footprints at some places too.
Lucy hums, turning around to look around them.
“Let’s just be careful, Love, yeah?”
Ona nods and smiles, unable to hide the butterflies she feels in her stomach when Lucy calls her like that. She takes the bow in one of her hands, just in case, when Lucy decides to make a walk around the lake “Just to have a look.”
Ona should have known it was a bad idea, every time they are separated something bad happens.
Just when Ona can’t see Lucy anymore, she feels something icy against her neck.
“Make any sound and you're dead. Do you understand?”
Ona feels her blood freeze, but she only nods softly. She doesn’t know what is held against her neck, but if it’s a knife, she doesn’t want to take any risks.
“Let go of your bow” the voice says.
Ona doesn’t hesitate before letting it go. She just hopes that Lucy will come back soon to help her. She feels stupid, Lucy just told her to be careful.
“Good. Do you know how to get out of this desert?”
Ona nods once again. She tries to recognize the voice of the person talking, but she didn’t talk a lot to those two girls. She’s unable to say which one of them is behind her.
“Show the way. Don’t turn around.”
Of course, Ona wants to turn around or even look for Lucy, but she can’t. So, she obliges and starts to walk, taking the way back she took several minutes. She can feel that icy things brush against her neck from time to time, attesting of its presence.
They were walking for several minutes when the girl talks again. Ona was walking as slow as possible, still hoping that Lucy will see them.
“Are you okay?”
Ona frowns, not understanding why the girl is asking her that question. She doesn’t understand either the soft tone used to ask this question, until she hears the girl talking again.
“Stop, Batlle.”
Then Ona turns around and realise that they were two people walking behind her. But the second girl doesn’t look good.
“What happened to her?” Ona whispers.
The first girl, Enya as Ona just remembered her name, shot her a dirty look. She raises what she had in her hand and Ona blenches when she sees that Enya is in fact holding nothing much than a gun.
“Hands up!”
Ona obliges once again, raising both of her hands without hesitation. She looks at the way Enya is looking at her partner, looking hopeless. The other girl has various purple patches all over the body, some swollen and appearing painful.
“She got bitten by scorpions” Enya groans.
Ona shivers, remembering that she had one of them in her arm last night. The second girl doesn’t seem able to talk and Ona wonders if she really can understand what is happening. She seems lost, looking at Ona blankly.
“You… You know that she won’t make it, right?” Ona says as softly as she can.
She feels sorry for that poor girl. But Enya seems angry by that statement and point her gun at the middle of Ona’s forehead.
“Shut up if you don’t want to die right now”
Ona raises her hands again, not moving anymore. She doesn’t know what sign Enya is waiting for, but she seems to be happy, so she kneels down next to the other girl lying on the ground.
Ona’s mind wanders to Lucy, who must be lost about not finding her anywhere now. Ona hopes that she won’t do something stupid, they keep reminding each other that as long as they haven’t heard the canon, there is nothing to worry about. Ona just hopes that they won’t be separated for long. Unless Enya really decides to kill her soon, which might be problematic in that case.
“Where did you find a gun?” Ona asks.
Enya looks up to look at her, seeming to think before answering. But the question is on Ona’s mind, she’s scared that Tony or Camden have found guns too. If that’s the case, winning will be difficult.
“I’ve received it from the sponsor.”
Ona arches her two eyebrows under surprise. She received pretty great things too, but nothing like that. Enya must have someone who likes her very much outside.
“Help me carry Leane. If your girlfriend sees us, she will come, and I’ll be forced to shoot her. You don’t want that, do you?”
Ona contracts her jaw at Lucy’s mention. Of course, she doesn’t want something like that. However, Ona wonders for several seconds how Enya knows about her and Lucy’s relationship. But she doesn’t have to think a lot, because Enya is pointing her gun at her face once again and she hurries to help.
They walk like this for what feels like forever, one arm around each other. Ona doesn’t know if it’s because she’s walking for a very long time, but Leane seems heavier every single second.
“Come on Leane, we are almost here” Enya repeats every two minutes.
Ona doesn’t say anything, she’s thinking a lot. She’s thinking about the chances she would have against Enya. Leane can’t fight that’s for sure and Enya seems very weak. But she has a gun, and a single shoot will be enough to kill her.
An energy boost takes Enya when they are able to see the end of the desert, the girl almost jumping until it. But Ona just has to take a look at Leane to know that things are very bad.
“I think she’s dying” Ona says slowly.
It takes Enya’s attention, and the girl looks at Leane with stupor.
“No no no no no” Enya says, laying Leane on the floor. “Not now, we are just getting out of the desert!”
The girls take Leane’s face between her hands, looking at Leane’s face. Ona feels like the girl is looking for any sign of life, which is particularly awful in her opinion. Ona jumps when Enya points the gun once again in her direction.
“Is she alive?”
Ona hesitates, looking at Leane’s frame on the sand. Poor girl seems gone, but no cannon is audible.
“Look at it!”
Enya seems to lose the little control of herself she was keeping until now. She’s making big movements with her hands, pointing Ona, then Leane, then Ona again. All of this while walking around.
Ona kneels next to Leane, putting her finger on her neck to search for her heart rate.
“She’s alive” Ona mumbles.
She doesn’t add “for now” but she almost can’t feel anything against her fingers. It seems to calm Enya a little bit. At least she stops walking around like a crazy maniac.
“Good. Because if she dies, it’s because of you.”
“What are you talking about?” Ona asks after several seconds of silence.
“If you came earlier, you could have helped us earlier. We spent days trying to get out of this place. Leane got bitten by a scorpion in the middle of the night while I was asleep. It was so painful that she wasn’t even able to walk to me to wake me up. When I woke up she was surrounded by them, so I had to kill them with the gun.”
Ona bites her lip, looking sadly at Leane. This death must be awful, she would rather die like Teagan. She feels sorry for the other girl but for Enya too. She would probably not react better if it was Lucy in this case.
“Alright, get up. Find us the bridge.”
Enya makes Ona carry Leane on her back this time, walking behind them still with the gun pointed on Ona’s head. The sun is shining brightly now, and Ona feels the sweat running on her body. She feels the weakness in her legs too, Leane is a little bit bigger than her and heavier too.
“Can we take a pause please?” Ona finally asks.
“No”
There is no room for discussion. The brunette sighs softly, trying to ignore the sweat that runs down her face. Ona manages to walk ten more minutes before feeling her legs really getting tired.
“Enya” Ona whispers.
“I said, shut up and walk.”
Ona tries. As hard as she can, but soon her legs give up and she feels on her knee. The sand is burning against her skin, but that’s probably not the most important point. Ona feels the gun against her temple, making her close her eyes.
“Get up.”
“I can’t” Ona whispers, out of breath.
Her whole body is shaking, she has trouble breathing normally, and her head is spinning. Even opening her eyes seems hard for her right now.
“You leave me no choice”
Ona hears the weapon making a click and she closes her eyes harder, waiting for the blast. But contrary to what she expected, she feels Enya falling next to her and then rolling in the sand.
Ona manages to make Leane go down on her back, kneeling to see what is happening. Enya is fighting with someone that Ona recognizes immediately. Lucy is here, saving her once again.
“She has a gun” Ona shouts.
She doesn’t know if Lucy saw them, if she was following them for many times or if it’s just a miracle for her to be her.
Enya is fighting harder than Ona would have thought, the metal of the gun shining under the sun from time to time.
When Ona finally manages to stand up, the two other girls are fighting almost hundred meters further. Ignoring her feet who are killing her, Ona tries to run to help Lucy. She regrets not having her bow.
Just when she arrives at their height, a sound of gunfire resounds in the air. Ona freezes instantly, her eyes crossing Lucy’s gaze.
Lucy’s beautiful green eyes are wide under the surprise. Ona has always loved this shape of green. But right now, what she can see in them is terrifying her.
“Lucy!”
The younger girl screams this time, looking as Lucy’s body falls on the ground, only three meters away from her.

Cont’d.
You were still sat in the parking lot. You wipe your eyes with your hands, smearing your mascara before wiping your nose on the sleeve of your coat as you turn on the engine. The radio begins to play Don’t You Want Me by The Human League. You groan as you change the station. Heart Of Glass by Blondie begins to play instead.
“No, nevermind. I hate my life.” You say bitterly, turning off the radio entirely. You begin to drive away with The Corinium in your rearview. “God this is so fucked!” You exclaim to no one, trying to keep yourself level enough to not crash the hunk of metal on wheels.
You manage to drive the rest of the way in complete silence back to your home. You put the car in park, resting your forehead against the steering wheel to cry, very loudly, once more.
A passerby and her child both stare at you like you were mentally unwell, causing you to forcibly smile through your tears and give them a thumbs up. As they clear out of view, you sigh and finally get out of the vehicle.
You kick off your shoes as you enter your apartment, throwing your coat over your armchair. You open your fridge in an instant, pulling out the bottle of wine Taggie had gifted you a week ago.
"Incase of any personal celebrations, y/n." She had told you. To be fair, she never said you couldn't just simply drink it to wallow in pity.
Two hours later and one wine bottle down, you're loudly doing karaoke to your favorite radio station. You've barely had anything to eat due to stress that day, and the alcohol was getting a real grip on you. You're laying on the couch, slurring your lyrics as the phone begins to ring incessantly.
"Go away...!" You moan, covering your ears with a throw pillow. It goes off once again, causing you to finally get up and answer.
"Hello who is this? What do you want?” You say, barely coherent enough for the person on the other end.
"Y/n? Where are you?" You hear Declan say, lots of commotion in the background. He was definitely at Bar Sinister, celebrating with everyone else.
"Home, obviously. You called my landline." You say in annoyance, leaning against the wall.
"I mean, why aren't you here? I wanted to see you and... and talk about things." He says quietly. You could imagine him at the pay phone in the corner of the bar, hiding his conversation from everyone else.
"I'm not coming there." You mumble into the phone, toying with the cord. "Your wife doesn't want me anywhere near you, didn't you know that?" You ask in confusion.
There's a moment of silence before Declan speaks again. "No, I didn't." He says. "That's... I had no idea, y/n. I'm so sorry for bringing you into this." He mutters with an incantation of disappointment behind his words. "I am my own person, I hope you know that. My wife isn't allowed to choose what I do if she lets herself do whatever."
"I know, but I don't want to be the reason you lose your job Declan, or your marriage." You whisper, trying to not cry once again. "I'm sorry, I'm really fucking drunk. I don't know if I can talk right now." You stammer, trying to hold down the bile coming up your throat.
"I understand y/n. But please, let's talk about this." Declan pleas.
"I have to go, I don't feel so good." You hastily hang up the phone, nearly falling over yourself as you make it to your bathroom. You lean over the toilet on your knees, throwing up into the porcelain bowl. You can hear the phone ringing again, but you have no power to answer it again. You lean your head against the seat, groaning. At least you felt a bit better after throwing up.
You eventually get up, retrieving some ibuprofen from your cabinet and popping two in your mouth, running the sink and dipping your mouth underneath it in order to swallow the pills. You knew your liver was spiteful of you right now, but you didn't care as long as you were going to feel better later.
You bring yourself to the kitchen, grabbing a glass and filling it up with water. You take small, consistent sips in order to avoid puking again. You walk over to your couch and put the glass down on the side table, slumping into it as your music continues to blare throughout the living room.
-
You wake up to loud, repetitive knocks on your door, wiping your mouth clear from drool.
"Fuck I fell asleep." You whisper, looking at the clock. It had only been an hour.
You begrudgingly get up, turning down your radio before walking over to your front door. You undo the latch, opening it to reveal Declan.
He turns and faces you, hand on his hips like an annoyed father. You both stare at each other, Declan taking in how disgruntled you looked. Hair knotted, eyes surely puffy. You must've looked insane.
“Declan? How did you know where I live?” You ask, bewildered by his presence.
His face softens when he sees you. "Don’t worry about that.“ He says. “I got worried when you disappeared over the phone, so I came to see if you were okay." He explains.
“Okay… Well, I’m clearly doing great.” You say weakly, gesturing to yourself.
“Y/n, can I please come in?” Declan asks, frowning slightly.
You nod, stepping out of the way to allow him entrance.
Declan had never been in your apartment before, taking in the layout and decor mindfully. "Your apartment, it's very... you." He comments, looking at the black cat clock ticking back and forth on the wall with curiosity.
"Is that good or bad?" You mumble, closing the front door and locking it.
"Good, very good." He says, turning back to face you. "Seb told me you just got up and left before the interview was over. Did that have anything to do with me?" He says, cautiously stepping closer.
"I'm not gonna lie, I'm still drunk." You admit, holding up a finger. “But, Maud called me at my desk right before the interview. She found out because I left my stupid fucking bra behind by accident and now I have done irreparable damage.” You breathe out, laughing at yourself so you don't cry.
Declan says nothing, slowly taking you into an embrace. “You didn’t do anything wrong.” He whispers into your hair. “I made the choices, not you.”
“But it’s still my fault, too.” You barely say loud enough, a few stray tears leaving your eyes again. You do not reciprocate the hug, simply staying limp in his arms. You had worn yourself down.
“Please, don’t cry.” Declan sighs, pulling back to wipe your tears with his thumb. “I can’t stand seeing you like this.”
Your stomach loudly grumbles, causing you to laugh again. “Sorry.” You say meekly, holding your stomach.
"Have you had anything to eat since this morning?" He asks, furrowing his brows as he grabs your arms.
"No, I haven't been able to keep anything down." You mumble, your stomach grumbling again on cue.
"Jesus, y/n. Please go lay down and watch the telly, I'm gonna cook you something." He says, directing you to your couch.
"I don't really have any groceries. I need to buy some more." You explain as you lay back down, Declan opening your fridge to reveal some skimmed leftovers, two eggs and a block of cheese.
"Mm, I see." He closes the fridge. "I'm gonna go to the store quickly, then. Stay put and keep drinking your water." He says, heading back towards the front door.
"Declan, you don't have to-" You try to say.
"Ah, don't argue please." He turns to you to say. “I’ll be back.” He opens the door and disappears back outside, closing it behind him.
You close your eyes and sigh. With the dull ache in your head and your lack of energy, you had no power to fight with Declan. You were afraid of the consequences of his arrival, but he was just as stubborn as the rest of them. Nothing you could say or do would stop him from giving a damn about you.
About fifteen minutes later, Declan returns. “I hope you like having fruits and vegetables. Taggie’s taught me to be more concerned about my diet, trying to spread the good word.” He says, taking off his shoes after placing two plastic bags worth of groceries on the counter.
“If you can manage to fit all of that in my shitty little fridge, I’ll applaud you.” You say, opening one eye to look over at him. “Thank you Declan. For this.” You say, sitting back up.
“It’s nothing, really. I’m the reason you’re feeling like shit, it’s up to me to change that.” He smiles, although seeming quite tired himself.
“Are you sure you should be here? I’m just worried if anyone–“
“Don’t worry about it. Like I said, what I decide to do is on my own volition. I’m a grown man, y/n.” He says matter-of-fact, leaning over your kitchen counter.
“You should be celebrating with everyone. You shouldn’t be here.” You try to say sternly, crossing your arms.
Declan stands up straight, mimicking your body language. “I told everyone I needed to go home. Taggie and Maud already left before I did so I highly doubt they know, nor care.” He explains, opening a box of pasta. “I hope you don’t mind a simple spaghetti dish, I’m not as great of a cook as you or my daughter are.” He admits meekly.
“Do whatever, I’m not stopping you from anything clearly.” You sigh, laying down once more.
-
After you and Declan eat dinner together, he allows you to fall asleep with your head in his lap while watching the T.V.
When you wake up the next morning, you found yourself in your bed with your nightgown on somehow, realizing Declan must’ve, quite literally, tucked you into bed.
A piece of paper from your daily planner lies on your bedside table, picking it up as you slowly read it through heavy eyelids.
Y/n,
I hope you slept well, and had pleasant dreams of home. I’m sorry I couldn’t stay around, I would’ve if I could.
With that being said, I want to give you the choice of whether or not you wish to continue with us. I know that I told you no one can affect my choices, and I am firm with knowing what I want; but I do not wish to ignore your needs or wants. You are your own person as well. I care about you greatly, and have found myself more fond of you as time goes on. However, it is not worth being selfish at the cost of your suffrage.
I want what is best for you, and I hope you do too.
P.S., Leftover spaghetti for you in the fridge.
Sincerely,
Declan
You slowly put the paper back down, tucking your knees into your chest as you wrap your arms around your legs. It was Sunday, technically you had until tomorrow to give him an answer if you were to be kind about time.
What were you going to do? You couldn't deny it; you were beginning to fall in love with Declan O'Hara. Quite frankly, you think he might be feeling the same way. Would he leave his wife for you? That would be ridiculous. Everyone cheats on their partners here, but no one divorces. God forbid, right?
You get up finally after staring at the wall for ten minutes, begrudgingly walking into the living/kitchen space. All your dishes were washed and left out to dry, thanks to Declan.
You smile to yourself, grabbing ahold of the phone off the receiver with an idea. You dial Seb's number, waiting a few moments before he picks up.
"Hello, Seb speaking." He says groggily, clearly had been woken up by your call.
"Seb, hi. Sorry for calling at eleven in the morning." You jest, poking fun at his tired voice considering it wasn't even that early.
"Y/n, nice to hear from you. Is everything alright? You don't sound too well." He asks, yawning.
"Erm, no. I don't feel well, I think I've gotten the flu or something." You say, your hangover making you sound like you weren't lying. "Would you mind taking on my tasks at work for the next few days? Tell Tony for me, he honestly scares me too much for me to call him myself." You admit sheepishly, rubbing your forehead. In full honesty, you wanted to avoid the office like the plague. You were at the tipping point of whether or not you go back to America and pretend none of this ever happened.
"Course, I'm sorry to hear about that. Can I do anything for you? Bring you meds or tea of the sort?" Seb offers.
"No, thanks though. I'm just gonna rot with what I've got kicking around here. My mom's a health nut, she sent me here with all kinds of crap." You say, leaning against the wall.
"Alright then. You got it, madam. Take care of yourself yeah?" He says.
"Will do. See you Seb."
"Bye y/n."
You mount the phone back on the receiver, keeping your gaze on it as you continue to lean against the wall. You debated calling Declan as well to thank him for everything last night, but you fought against it. You'd rather sit and hide until you sorted out your mind before speaking to him again. It was only fair, really.
You walk over to your fridge, retrieving the container of spaghetti. You grab a fork as well, making your way to the couch. You turn on the television and begin to eat the leftovers. You didn't care enough to warm it up, you felt like punishing yourself by eating it cold.
-
As the the week passes, you find yourself indulging in your old hobbies, such as reading and painting. You bought a cheap art set from an art supply store on the shopping strip a few blocks away from your home, and used books from the secondhand shop. Taggie had come to hang out with you twice, chalking up your absence from work due to being homesick. Although your free time was peaceful, you knew better than to waste away instead of going to work.
On the day of Miss Corinium, you had clocked back into work. Seb convinced you to do so, and caught you up with what you missed in the meantime.
"So the Thatcher interview went to James Vereker instead?" You ask in bemusement, walking down the hall alongside your colleague.
"Yep, and Declan did not take it kindly. He took the week off as well, actually. Neither of you have been in until now. People suspect he had more things going on and that was just the final nail in the coffin." Seb says, both of you returning to your desk space.
"Really?" You ask, trying to hide your worries behind gossiping with Seb. It was quite entertaining, really. You wouldn't have expected him to be the nosiest out of everyone else, but you kept getting surprises every other day.
"Yep, drinking like a fucking maniac too." He adds sympathetically. You frown at that statement, becoming increasingly worried for Declan as minutes pass.
"Come on everybody, down to the stage please." Tony exclaims, everyone getting up from their stations.
You make your way down alongside Seb, noticing Daysee hastily walking ahead the two of you.
“Daysee!" You exclaim, the blonde turning around with wide eyes. "I've missed you!" You go to hug her, in which she backs away like a scared cat.
"Sorry, not right now." She quickly whispers, continuing to walk away. She seemed as though she'd been crying.
"What the fuck is happening?" You ask Seb, who shrugs in equal confusion.
As you all make it to the sound stage, you see Declan nearly tripping over his own feet. His eyes land on you, causing your breath to hitch in your throat.
“Y/n, long time no see.” He slurs, leaning up against the wall to smile at you.
“Get a fucking grip, O’Hara. What the fuck are you doing?” You seethe, disappointed by his actions.
“What’d mean? The fuck are you doing? Haven’t said a word to me all week.” He mutters, trying to reach for the glass behind you.
You grab his arm tightly, causing his eyes to go wide. “This is not the time nor fucking place for this. I have every right to keep to myself. I’m doing my job and you’re doing yours, right?” You whisper harshly, pushing his arm back to him. You step back and watch as Seb attempts to entice Declan with a mug of water, to which he takes begrudgingly as he keeps his eyes on you.
"Daysee, nice dress." He compliments the blonde as she walks by, who gives him a look of distraught as she begins to cry.
You and Seb instantly look at each other in understanding. He forcefully gives Declan back his blazer before following her.
Declan looks at you with confusion. “What’d I do?” He asks.
“I don’t know, but maybe you can do us all a favour and shut the fuck up.” You retort, following Seb.
-
You were fuming in that control room.
You sat directly beside Daysee, who gripped your hand the whole time. She barely looked at anyone as she called cues, causing you to trace your thumb over her hand as you tried not to frown yourself. She did not wish to speak on it further or make a bigger deal of it, to which you and Seb both respected as the show had to go on.
James Vereker and Sarah Stratton go on to introduce all the judges, your stomach growing a pit as James says Declan's name, the camera cutting to a very intoxciated O'Hara. "Back in the saddle after his indisposition earlier this week." He quips, the camera then moving onto the last and very, very least man on the panel.
"Ex-prebendary from the Church of England, Reverend Fergus Penney." Sarah says, everyone clapping along at the line up.
Daysee's grip on your hand tightens as Reverend Penny appears on screen, causing you to press your forehead to her shoulder briefly as the show continues on.
You watch as the television screens show Declan seeming rather displeased with who he was sat beside. You begin to realize he may know what has gone on, repositioning yourself in your seat as you continue to watch onwards.
Seb attempts to put a hand on Daysee's shoulder, to which she jumps slightly.
"Don't." You whisper, shaking your head at him as he steps back. You wince as you watch Declan barely manage to fill a glass of water.
"Reverend Penney, are you looking for perfection tonight?" James asks after they showcase a lineup of young, fit women.
"Oh... well, perfection is not my concern. The qualities that I'm looking for in the inaugural Miss Corinium, uh, consists of, uh, a healthy body and sound morals." The old man says, causing you to purse your lips. Hypocrite. You think to yourself.
As if Declan has read your mind, he begins to interject. "You filthy, hypocritical, old git." He spits out, standing up to sucker punch Reverend Penney.
The entire control room gasps at the sight, along with the audience.
"What the fuck is he doing? Cut the feed." Cameron Cook exclaims, everyone rushing to end the livestream.
You race over the the viewing glass, watching Wesley Emerson hold back Declan from fighting furthermore.
"You'll get what's coming to you!" Declan yells, pointing at Reverend Penny.
"He's ruined everything." Daysee says.
You turn around, watching everyone stare in dismay. After a minute of standing in silence by yourself, you quickly make your way through the room, pushing the doors open to find Declan.
As you run doing the hall, you hear commotion in the office.
You watch as Declan pins Tony against the wall, then eventually proceeds to take a golf club and throw it through the glass. You gasp, covering your mouth.
Declan sees you, his face dropping as you both stand there, staring at each other.
Without hesitation, you gather your belongings and begin to head back down the hallway, this time going towards the exit.
"Y/n, wait!” Declan yells, following you down the stairs. "Y/n, stop! I need to talk to you!"
You push through the rotating entrance door, taken aback by Freddie and Rupert waiting with a car right in front.
"Y/n, are you okay? Do you need a lift?" Rupert asks, noticing your bewilderment as Declan charges outside behind you.
"No, I have my own car. Thanks though." You say, attempting to walk away.
"I just quit my job." Declan says suddenly, directed towards everyone. You look back at him with wide eyes.
"Get in the car, lads. Let's get rat-arsed." Freddie suggests, Rupert opening the door for Declan.
"Y/n, please let me talk to you." Declan pleas once more, standing in front of you with his back towards the other two.
"Declan," You sigh, looking up at him. "About what?" You ask, throw your arms up then dropping them. You watch him fail to answer, as you two were not alone. "Give it up. Go get rat-arsed, or whatever." You say, squinting in confusion as you say the sentence yourself.
Declan grabs your arm, looking into your eyes. "Please, y/n."
"You’re drunk, Declan." You say firmly, pulling your arm away. “Grow up.” You mutter bitterly.
You watch as Rupert forces him into the car, the door slamming as Declan continues to stare at you through the window. You shake your head in disappointment.
"Y/n..." Rupert says, causing you to look at him instead. "I see how he looks at you." He whispers, smiling with sympathy. "If you really care about him, it's worth fighting for. Believe me." He says, causing your eyes to widen. Did he know too?
"And why should I listen to you?" You say quietly, raising a brow at him.
"Because, I can tell when something is worthwhile than most. Also, between you and me, he seems happier with you around." He adds. "Just trust me." He says, placing a hand on your shoulder before dropping it. "Think about it, yeah?" He finishes, getting into the car before Freddie drives it away.
You stand still for a few seconds, watching the car disappear as you process the day that had fallen upon you. It was rather ludicrous how your first day back after sick leave left you in shambles, but could you expect anything less? Your internship was making you question whether or not journalism was even the career choice for you. It was becoming redundant.
You sigh, making your way to your car.
-
You were sitting in your armchair, attempting to focus on your Murakami novel. Your mind was going a thousand miles an hour, trying to process every single thing that has happened within the past month. It had been two weeks since you last saw Declan, and you were sure you'd never see him again as he did not attempt to reach out to you in any way since his departure at The Corinium.
Tony Baddingham had made you all begin to sign contracts, having to hand them in by Friday as a form of devotion and to not hand yourself off to Declan O'Hara and his band of misfits. Apparently, he was attempting to start up a company to take down Corinium.
As your mind consumes you, you quickly head over to your phone, dialing Seb as per usual.
"Seb speaking." He says.
"Seb, this is fucked up. What is happening?" You ask, biting your nails in a nervous tick.
"I don't know." He sighs. "I can't lose my job, y/n. I have to stay at The Corinium."
"Well, me neither. I'm with you on that." You say. "Do you think Tony's going to start firing us? I can't go back home, this job is all I've got." You explain, your hand white knuckling the cord of your phone.
"No, I don't think so. He’s got us signing papers for god’s sake. What's the worse that can happen? We haven't done anything to make Lord Baddingham think we're with Declan, have we?"
You go quiet for a moment before clearing your throat. "Right, course not. That would be ridiculous." You say, grabbing the back of your neck.
"I'll see you on Monday. It's alright, y/n. We've got each other." He reassures.
"Right, course. Bye Seb." You say, hanging up the phone.
As soon as you hang up the phone, your receiver starts to ring. You pick it up once again in confusion.
"Hello, who is this?" You ask.
"Y/n, it's Taggie." She says quietly.
"Taggie, love, hi. Did you want to come over?"
"...Can I? I feel like my house is falling apart. I could use your company."
"Well of course. Is everything alright?" You querie.
"No, not even in the slightest. I'll tell you once I get there."
"Yeah, no problem. See you soon."
"See you."
You hang up the phone again, groaning loudly. "I swear to god if it is possible to have a heart attack at twenty two it will happen to me of all people." You say to yourself, putting your head in your hands as you rub your face.
About twenty minutes later, Taggie enters your apartment. You gave her a spare key the last time you came over, figuring it would be nice to allow her to come over and keep you company whenever.
"Y/n, I feel like I'm going fucking crazy." She exclaims, taking off her sneakers.
"Do you need a glass of wine or...?" You suggest, already pouring two.
"Well, if you insist." She tries to jest, leaning against the counter as she presses her hands to her temples.
"What's going on?" You ask, sipping your own glass.
Taggie sighs heavily before speaking. "My mum's gone to London, and I don't think she plans on coming back." She says quietly, staring at the counter. "I would be more upset, but I think my parents giving up on each other was a long time coming." She admits, taking a deep sip of her glass.
"What?" You say, nearly choking on your own wine. "Your mom's leaving Declan?" You ask in dismay.
Declan’s washed up attitude was now finally making sense, and you began to feel guilty for not trying to reach out to him. You figured you were doing what was best, but maybe you were too narrow-minded to really know the answer to that one. You couldn’t help but feel a bit excited over the news.
"Yeah... At least I think she is. She left to rejoin the theatre, which means she definitely will cheat on my dad again so I think he gave up on her.” She says quietly.
“I’m sorry Tags.” You whisper, frowning. You hated to see her upset, any person in their right mind could never wish that upon Taggie.
“Not only that,” She continues on. “Rupert and Freddie have created a television company with my father in hopes it'll take out Corinium. Rupert's idea, in order to help my father pay back his debts.” She says, wincing as she finishes off her glass in another large gulp.
"Yeah, I heard about that. Christ um, that's a lot Taggie.” You pause for a moment. “Rupert really cares about you, doesn’t he?”
Taggie shakes her head slowly. “I don’t think he’s doing all this for me, y/n. That’d be absurd.” She tries to argue.
“Right, because he must be so in love with your dad.” You muse, raising your brows.
"That’s not the point!” She groans. “I want you to join us, y/n." She says, offering you a smile. "Well, I want them to hire you so you can leave the Corinium and still keep your work visa. Does that feel sound to you?" She asks, standing up straight.
You put your glass down, engulfing Taggie in a hug. "God, I could kiss you right now." You say, sighing with relief. "Do you really think this'll work? I'm just worried, cause they've got us signing contracts at Corinium." You ask, sitting back down on your stool.
"Mmm, I’ve heard about that myself." She says. "I accidentally came across Charles Fairburn when I was trying to get signatures. He's already willing to be on our team as a mole." She grins. "I'm not forcing you to do the same, but how do you feel about working for Venturer, y/n?" She asks, placing her hand down on the counter.
"Venturer? That's what they've called it?" You hum, picking up your glass and taking another sip of your wine.
You couldn’t figure out whether or not this was a good choice to make. Realistically, this could potentially send you straight back to America. On the other hand, the reason why you took on journalism was to do something you truly loved, which was speaking for the people. You knew if Venturer made it out alive, you’d have a bigger voice on the team.
Plus, maybe it was worth seeing Declan again. Deep down, you still cared greatly for him. It was your own fault that you had confrontation issues and blew up the situation bigger than it had to be.
“Yeah, okay. I’ll do it." You say, causing Taggie to grin from ear to ear.
"Yes! I knew you'd say yes." She cheers, jumping slightly on the spot. “We’re hosting dinner at our house tomorrow night for the team. Care to join us?” She asks, her blue eyes lighting up with joy.
“Yeah, absolutely. How can I say no to a Taggie special?” You grin, the both of you laughing together. You were so grateful for Taggie, it seemed like whenever the two of you spent time together, something always turned around for the better.
-
You find yourself standing front of The Priory the next day. It had been quite awhile since the last time you were there, you couldn’t help but take in the view.
Suddenly, Gertrude comes barrelling around the corner at you. You kneel down, greeting the dog eagerly. “Oh hi baby! I missed you!” You coo, hugging the dog and scratching behind her ears. You hear footsteps, looking up and meeting Taggie’s eyes.
“I’m glad you made it.” She says with a smile on her face. “Everyone’s in the back by the garden. Follow me.” She gestures for you to do so, causing you and Gertrude to both make way to the garden.
As you turn the corner, you’re instantly greeted with Declan’s eyes. Rupert was in the middle of speaking to him when he follows his gaze, smirking when he notices you as well. There were others also sat around the table, a few you recognize and some you don’t.
You give Declan a warm smile, watching him reciprocate it as you sit down across from him, following your nametag.
“Y/n, lovely seeing you.” Freddie says, giving you a classic grin as you chuckle lightly.
“Likewise. It’s been a long few weeks, hasn’t it?” You comment, thanking Rupert when he gets up and pours you a glass of wine. You feel your cheeks warm up as you notice Declan’s eyes never leave you, although you were trying your best to look elsewhere.
“Tell me about it. You’re still at Corinium?” Rupert asks, sitting back down.
“Unfortunately. But erm, if you guys will have me I’ll gladly leave. It just depends on how it’ll go with my work visa and all that. Might have to reapply.” You say, shrugging as you sip your wine.
“We’d be more than happy to do so, y/n. Right Declan?” Rupert quizzes, nudging his frozen friend.
Declan blinks rapidly, clearing his throat. “Right, course. We’d love to have you.” He says quietly, looking down at the table briefly before looking at you again.
“Dinner is served!” Taggie announces, carrying out plates with Caitlin and Patrick, both who have returned home from school.
“Hi y/n.” Caitlin says, giving your shoulders a squeeze after she serves your a plate. You smile at her widely.
“So, how has it been without Maud in the house?” Rupert asks, causing half the table to light up in commotion and the other half to stay quiet.
“Rupert.” Lizzie says firmly, smacking his arm.
“What? Sorry I just wanted to know is all, christ you people are no fun.” He remarks, taking a bite of his food.
“It’s been quiet.” Taggie says suddenly, causing you all to fall quiet. “It feels more peaceful, in a way.” She admits, placing down the last plate of food. “Everyone, please enjoy.” She says, finally sitting down beside you.
You look across the table at Declan, who’s looking down at his feet. You taste the first few bites in silence, keeping your gaze on your plate as you listen to other conversations around you. You decide that maybe it was now or never to have a chance to speak with Declan. You just needed to step out briefly.
“I forgot something in my car, I’ll be back.” You say, getting up from your seat. Declan watches you exit dinner, disappearing around the corner.
“I’ll go get us another bottle of wine.” He says, getting up and re-entering the house.
You figured he wasn’t going to bother speaking to you, your heart sinking as you still walk over to your car incase anyone was watching. You lean up against the beater, biting at your nails.
Nearly jumping to your feet, you hear the front door open, revealing Declan. You realize he must’ve gone through the house to avoid suspicion.
He slowly approaches you, hand in his pockets as he halts about five feet away from you.
You turn to face him properly, clearing a few strands of hair from your face as you cross your arms.
“Hi.” He says timidly.
You’ve never seen Declan so reserved before, it was almost humorous.
“Hi.” You say back. “Nice shirt.” You comment, pointing to the Venturer graphic across his firm chest.
“Thanks. Taggie ordered ‘em. You can have one too if you’d like, they’re inside.” He says, giving you a smile. “Um, how’ve you been?” He asks.
“Been better. Trying to keep myself level, it’s not very easy apparently.” You try to joke, pursing your lips. “I’m sorry about the whole Maud thing. I mean it.” You say, shifting your weight from off the car. “You’ve always deserved better.” You mumble.
He nods slowly, running a hand through his hair. “Yeah well, I insisted she go and be happy. It wasn’t cutting it for her here, she was happier in London and I’m happier here. Nothing stays linear.” He admits, shrugging. “I’m beyond it. I mourned our relationship ages ago.” He adds.
“Do you… miss her, at all?” You ask quietly.
“I miss the person I fell in love with. I think that woman and the one she is now are two completely different people.” He says, smiling sadly.
You nod slowly in understanding. “Do you still love her, then?”
Declan bites the inside of his cheek, pausing in deep thought. “I care about her, but I don’t think she is who I really love anymore.”
You furrow your brows at his response. “I don’t think I understand what you’re saying.”
Declan takes a few steps closer to you. “Y/n, I missed you, a lot.” He admits. “The last time I saw you, I figured that you never wanted to see me again. I wanna know if that’s true or not.”
You drop your arms, staring at Declan as your heartbeat increases rapidly. “Of course I wanted to see you. I just– God, you didn’t call me for two weeks Declan. You didn’t even try to see if that was really how I felt.” You try to argue.
Declan scoffs. “I could say the same, y/n. I didn’t call you because I thought you were crossed with me! The way you spoke to me on my last day at Corinium? How can you expect me to reach out when you gave me the impression that whatever this was-“ He gestures between you two. “-was over with.” He exclaims.
“I don’t know! I figured with the note you left for me that I was worth a call, or even a visit! You drive me fucking crazy because I fell for you, Declan!” You exasperate, Declan’s eyes widen at your statement. “Even if you thought I wanted nothing else to do with you, you could’ve at least tried to–!”
“You have feelings for me?” He whispers.
You pause for a moment, scoffing. “Seriously? That’s all you got from that?”
He steps in close and grabs your face, kissing you desperately.
You don’t react at first, taking in the moment as you begin to kiss him back.
-
After about 20 minutes, the two of you are entangled in the backseat of your car. It took you by surprise that it was even possible to have sex in such a small car, but with the right person– anything is possible.
“I missed this.” You say, humming with your eyes closed. You were sitting on his lap with your head tucked into the side of his neck, your bare torsos pressed against each other.
“Me too.” Declan whispers. “So you like me, eh?” He says, tucking hair behind your ear with a grin. The windows were foggy and your skin was sticky, it felt like a scene from a movie.
You pull your head back and roll your eyes. “I wish I would’ve said it in a better way but… yeah, I think so.” You admit, looking down.
He grabs your chin and lifts it up, forcing you to make eye contact again. “When I said Maud isn’t who I really love anymore, I was referring to you.”
“Ohhh… That makes more sense now.” You say, laughing quietly as Declan shakes his head.
“I thought you were taught literacy in school, y/n.”
“Oh shut the fuck up, Declan.” You say with a smile. “I could stay like this forever.” You whisper.“But we need to get back to dinner before anyone sees us.” You say, earning another kiss from him. You laugh against his lips, his mustache tickling your nose as his embrace around you tightens. “I’m serious, you idiot.” You muse, smacking his arm.
“We’ll talk more about this later.” He says, winking as he places a firm smack on your arse.
“Hey!” You exclaim, rolling your eyes as the two of you begin to redress yourselves before getting out of the car.
Declan goes back through the house, showing up about two minutes after you.
“Where’s the wine?” Rupert asks Declan, raising a brow as his eyes scan over the both of you.
“Ah, couldn’t find the one I was looking for.” He simply says, making brief eye contact with you as you both sit back down.
You couldn’t help but continuously smile through the evening, even kicking your feet a little underneath the table whenever Declan spoke.
You knew it was going to be difficult to tell anyone, but at least you knew Rupert was on your side, even if that wasn’t the most ideal person. Besides, you had a feeling something was going on between him and Taggie; they basically had sex with their eyes whenever they were in a room together. There was little to hide, and it assured you that Taggie wouldn’t be that distraught with the idea of you and her father. Hopefully.
As the evening led on, guests start to leave The Priory, leaving you and the O’Hara’s to get ready for slumber.
You had just finished up saying goodnight to Taggie and Caitlin when you entered the guest bedroom, smiling when you see Declan laying upon the mattress. He was reading your book, glasses on that made him look like a history professor.
“What’re you doing here?” You quiz, walking over to the bed.
“Mm, my bed felt too lumpy.” He mumbles, placing the book on his chest.
“Is that so, princess and the pea?” You say sarcastically, climbing in beside him. You grab the book and place it on the bedside table, allowing yourself to cuddle up beside him with your head on his chest.
Declan wraps his arm around you, keeping his other hand behind his head as he traced his fingers along your bare arm. “Nice book you’ve got there. Maybe you’d be interested in proofreading my Yeates piece.” He suggests, in which you hum in response.
“I’d be honored.” You smile, looking up at him. “Are you gonna tell anyone about us?” You ask quietly. You were afraid of any answer he was going to give, in full honesty. Having to deal with a public relationship between the two of you may do more harm than good.
“I think I’d have to ask you to be my girlfriend first, y/n.” Declan jests, placing his glasses on top his head.
Your cheeks flush, causing you to hide your face in his chest. “Sorry. I shouldn’t have assumed.” You mumble, causing Declan’s chest to vibrate with laughter.
“No, don’t be sorry love.” He squeezes your arm, causing you to look up again. “Y/n,” He clears his throat before continuing. “Will you be my girlfriend?” He asks.
Your stomach flutters as a big smile stretches across your face. “Controversially young girlfriend you say? Yeah… I think I could do that.” You say, sitting up and bringing your legs over to be on both sides of his hips.
“Is that what people call it now?” He muses, looking up at you. “Hm, has a ring to it.” He mumbles, pulling your face into his as he begins to kiss you for what felt like the thousandth time that night.
-
You both had eventually fell asleep in each other’s arms at some point, finding yourself groggily waking up to the sound of commotion downstairs in the kitchen.
Declan is nowhere to be seen, assuming that he had already gotten up for the day.
You sit up and stretch, smiling lazily to yourself. You put on your own Venturer shirt, staying in a pair of pyjama bottoms you had borrowed from Taggie as you make your way down the stairs.
You are greeted with the sight of the Venturer Team once again, everyone discussing something rather solemnly.
“Good morning!” You say, your smile faltering when everyone looks at you with differentiating facial expressions– all mainly of concern.
Taggie walks through the crowd with a frown as she hands over a newspaper, pointing to the cover.
There were photos of you and Declan printed out on the front page, along with Taggie and Rupert. The headlines were accusing of them preying on younger women, most definitely the doings of Tony Baddingham.
You read the article over and over, your eyes widening with every sentence. You shamefully lower it from your gaze, looking at everyone else.
Well, fuck.
-
SHIT…. Fawk… again i know im literally the one writing this but im like 😐🙁😭 why can no one catch a fucking break. brutal
thank you for the support, this series now has over 100 notes just the first part alone YAYY. thank you for your love and devotion. this new part is my gift to you.

Octavia.
I have to get her, Stolas thinks, as the liquid drips off his face. She has never faced Stella's cruelty. I have to go-
Blitz yells at the janitor over his shoulder and Stolas opens his eyes- was the world always this colorful? He doesn't remember the days before he lost his sight to the stars- to brush aside the humiliation and get to his feet.
"No, it's fine, Blitz," He says, turning around. After a pause, "I'm okay."
He's alive, at any rate. Miserable and terrified and humiliated once more and-
At least he's alive.
"Look, let's get you home, alright?" Blitz coaxes, holding out a hand. Another shiver runs through him at the words, lump forming in his throat.
"I-" He nearly chokes on it, but- "I have no home."
He needs to find a way to get Octavia- but his books. His plants, his crystals, his telescopes. "Everything I have is gone."
Stolas nearly collapses to the floor at the enormity of it as it presses down on his shoulders, but warm claws grab both his hands and steady him at the last moment, steady and familiar.
"Look, come with me, alright?" Blitz's voice is firm and steady, allowing no arguments. "Let's get you out of here, 'n you'll need a place to stay for a bit."
Stolas lets himself be led out, shaking. Blitz is warm by his side, rubbing at his thighs and arms in comfort, tail curled around his feet protectively as they walk.
He dissociates as the others leave, following the touch on his thighs blindly as he's guided through the streets. Something in him flickers briefly when Blitz pulls him closer protectively once things start getting thrown around in celebration, some quiet part of him thrilling at the protective touch, but it's gone again quickly like ash in the wind.
He stumbles through the too-small building, falling into familiar pliancy as Blitz guides and pulls him along; uncurling a little when they pass all the rat-bitten hallways and suspicious stains to a flat with warm lights- Blitz's home.
He stares around at the smattering of photos on the wall; eyes flicking over the people and places- then yelps when he walks into the ceiling fan, screwing it back on before it can fall.
Right. Homes for imps and hellhounds.
He looks back and then suddenly wishes he hadn't, as Loona bends down to hug Blitz, tails curling around each other as they grip on tight.
"-Love you, dad," She says and Octavia-
He comes to staring at bathroom tiles.
Octavia. He's lost his owlet. His daughter.
"-You back, birdie?" Blitz murmurs behind him. The bathwater is warm. "Hey. Stolas. Don't worry, baby, everything will be alright."
A trill escapes him instead of words, a self-soothing habit he never escaped.
"Yeah, I know," Blitz says, quiet and warm. Stolas' life has ended, but he cannot help but curl into the warmth. He has starved in the cold for so long. "I know. Don't worry right now. Just- your body's been put through the ringer, you need to rest."
Stolas flinches as the soap runs over his arm and Blitz hisses in worry, parting the feathers to look at the ugly woundscar there. He grabs Stolas' hand and gently closes his talons over it to cover it from the soap, and continues running the sponge over his body like he used to.
Is this pity? He wants to ask. Is this only because I saved you? Do you even like me otherwise?
"Here we go," Blitz soothes, and Stolas trills again, melting against his will at the familiar words- he'd thought he'd never feel them again, the gentle way he was handled after all the roughness, coaxed to relax like he was a wild thing, aftercare. He'd always loved the aftercare. And Blitz had always been- Stolas had mistaken everything between them solely because of how good the other had been at it, at treating Stolas with softness. "Here we go."
He likes the term 'we'. Like they were taking care of Stolas together.
"Some nice agua," Blitz says behind him, then tenses as the door creaks open. He doesn't see what happens, too busy considering the water before him.
Octavia.
"WHOA! Try not to inhale the water!" Blitz shouts as he pulls Stolas out hurriedly, shooting him a brief smile and setting clothes down, before moving back out. The door opens again and Stolas can see the worry radiating in the reflection of the tiles, the quiet knowing of what Stolas was going to do if left alone. "Yeah, try not inhaling the water."
The door doesn't shut again.
Stolas sighs, sitting in the lukewarm water. His eyes wander over to the sweater and somehow, with all his strength, he pushes himself up.
Blitz smiles sadly at him when he stumbles out of the bathroom, muscles loose and uncoordinated. His ex-lover takes Stolas by the hands and carefully holds him as he loses the last of his strength and collapses onto the incredibly comfortable couch, eyelids pulling closed already.
They murmur to each other- "Always," Stolas promises, no matter where it leads him, no matter what Blitz says in reply- and welcomes the bliss of darkness.
It has been a terrible day. It will be a terrible year. He must go get Octavia as soon as he can.
But Stolas cannot help but bask in the embrace as it curls around him like claws in his headfeathers and a kiss on the cheek- and cannot regret any of it, as long as he is warm.

Hi! Can you still do nanbaka request, with Reader is the sister of the Sugoroku brothers.
Where Reader meeting the other inmates (w/ their supervisors) from other buildings, probably at Uno's game room (Uno's prize from The Tournament)
The 13 building inmates and her brothers are protective of Reader
-Hajime felt his stomach churning with anger, knowing he was going to be having some issues later, as he felt his eyelid twitching, his temple throbbing, seeing what he had walked into after bringing Uno and the other members of Cell 13 to his game room, his reward for winning in the tournament.
-You worked in Nanba Prison alongside your brothers, but not as a guard, you worked alongside Doctor Otogi in the research department and medical wing.
-You knew Cell 13 thanks to Nico, whom you met during one of his checkups and the others followed, surrounding you, adoring you as you were a pretty lady, wanting to chat you up.
-All of them but Niko, who was enjoying your hug, his head resting on your chest, had frozen in fear, when you introduced yourself, telling them that Hajime was your big brother!
-They all thought you were going to be just as scary as him, but you were so warm and inviting, willing to give them hugs, at least for a moment before Hajime stormed over, punching them to get them away from you.
-This led to you scolding him, and surprisingly he showed throat to you, not wanting to upset you, and Cell 13 was merciless in using you to their advantage, running to you when Hajime was being ‘mean’ as they knew you would protect them, which only made things worse as it pissed Hajime off even more.
-Hitoshi was protective of you as well, but he was less violent compared to Hajime, only pouting lightly, telling others to leave you alone while hugging you himself, which you thought was cute.
-However, as Uno and the others were brought in from the other buildings, so they could enjoy this game room too, the moment you walked in all focus when to you.
-Trois and Honey were instantly rushing towards you, each of them taking a hand, flirting instantly as you looked between them, a bit confused. Kiji came over as well, holding a hand to his cheek, impressed with your beauty, “And who is this lovely young lady, I’ve never seen a rose like you in Nanba before.”
-Hajime was feeling torn, he was pissed you were being flirted with, but also looking forward to the amusement he was about to receive as you were quickly surrounded by the other inmates and guards who were curious about you.
-Hitoshi and Hajime were standing side by side, with Cell 13 next to them, looking jealous that these other inmates were trying to steal your attention.
-You beamed brightly, causing roses and sparkles to appear around you, introducing yourself, “It’s nice to meet you all, my name is Sugoroku Y/N!”
-Instantly they all froze, turning to stone before they all turned to Hajime, who had his arms crossed over his chest before looking back at you, silently demanding an explanation.
-You weren’t bothered, smiling again, “Hajime is my big brother!” Kiji was shocked, cupping your cheeks, smooshing them a bit much to your surprise, claiming it couldn’t be true, as you were so beautiful and sweet looking, nothing like your gorilla of an older brother.
-You pouted lightly, making love arrows hit all their hearts as Trois clutched at his chest, overwhelmed by the cute look, “Don’t be mean to my big brother!” you were so sweet!
-Hajime unfortunately got fed up after Cell 13 joined the fray, hugging you and trying to play tug of war with you, saying that they were your favorite, causing arguments, and he delivered a punch tot eh top of each of the inmate’s heads, leaving steaming lumps.
-You were instantly scolding Hajime, “You shouldn’t hit people! What have I told you about using violence?!” seeing you defending all of them from Hajime was heartwarming, seeing you sticking up for them, but it made things worse for your older brother, as they all used you to keep Hajime in line, much to his annoyance.

Hellhound HRT Month 6 (4 month wolf 2 month Hellhound)
Heya! It’s me again… starting to do some note taking which… i got kinda chewed out on not doing any of that when i woke up in the hospital-.. wait fuck getting ahead of myself. Let’s start from after I parted with Mars.
So, yeah I got home that day pretty ecstatic to say the least, I mean who can say that they get their meds from an eldritch ritual!... well Mars probably can but that's besides the point let me have this!
The tablets taste awful, which is to say a lot since my taste hasn’t been the same since about month… 3 or 4? Something something Carnivores taste a lot less than herbivores or omnivores. Well anyway, meat tasted better than before, that’s for sure, but yeah everything else always tasted kinda… bland… so i started to enjoy textures more than taste… where was I?.. Oh yeah, taste of the meds… HORRIBLE.. like someone mixed the consistency of chalk with the aftertaste of puking your guts out… urgh… made a habit of putting them in a little bit of food and then down them that way… that way i at least only taste the food at first and only later maybe a bit of the meds..
Sooo anyway, changes… they happen fast on this stuff!! Maybe that's because there is a lot of change to come?... Or the cheap shot Erian gives us some diluted shit because he wants us on the meds for longer for a better and long lasting payroll… anyway!
The most notable change is my fur… it changed COMPLETELY in color! It used to be orange with a few gray streaks here and there and now it’s almost entirely black with some gray highlights like the fur on my chest or around my wrists and.. other joints. pretty neat! Could swear some of these kinda look like eyes.. especially those on my elbow and knees.. wonder if it’s like a mark from who i got those meds? Well they look cool so i won’t complain!
But yeah pretty much my entire body is covered in fur now, with the fur in my face being a lot shorter and more dense… It feels REALLY fluffy though… like i swear to god i brush through it, and if i don’t press down it almost feels like brushing throw air… that kinda soft.
When it comes to other changes in my body… my legs hurt somewhat now… i guess that means they are starting to change form now too.. becoming.. digigrate.. or something like that? Wolf like!
My Nails have now pretty much fused with my fingers. They actually look like really sharp claws now. Can’t pull them in yet so… gotta be double careful when scratching myself… already nicked myself pretty bad when I scratched an itch on my shoulder.
The tail has been as fluffy as ever~ I love this thing!!! Helped me a lot with my balance when doing parkour too! it’s just great~
Oh yeah! I am slowly growing a snout! hurts like a motherf-.... but damn finally!
Uhm… other than that… i noticed some tightness in my chest about three weeks ago… thought i just overexerted myself but… turns out it was worse than that. Which brings me to the reason I actually ended up in the hospital.
So here I was… meeting some friends from an online group that's basically made by therians for therians, which is an outdoor activity club for those of us that love exercising with our new formed abilities! Tell ya what, ain’t a damn human out there that can teach ya better how to use that tail for balance than some cat therian who already figured it out~ it’s quite specific and you gotta get a feel for it.. but their explanations helped a lot in increasing my stability when free running! Anyway I trailed off.
So I met those people again, that day it was another wolf therian like me- wait.. not like me, forgot i’m a hellhound for a second-, then there was that persian cat therian guy… and big ol’ me! We started easy with warm ups and stretches… that's also when my chest felt tight again for a moment.. but it went away really quickly so i ignored that… bad mistake.
Then we started running around the park at first.. into a more urban area of Hyper City, where we started to climb the buildings, jump some walls… typical kinda parkour stuff! It felt great having the wind in my fur, and doing it with a couple people that get it the same way I do! And boy oh boy am I happy they were there with me…
Memory is a bit hazy… but I just remember being… hot.. like literally… my chest felt tight as hell, pun intended, and I was literally in mid jumping motion, past the point of no return…. two… and a half stories above some alleyway… and I freaking passed out, like that… From what the others told me I was right behind them… and then I was gone… but they saw some smoke coming up from in between the buildings… I was incredibly lucky I fell into a dumpster.. but must have hit the wall straight on before that… They had trouble getting me out cause… turns out when i told Mars i’d love to have a “fire in my chest”... the eldritch must have listened and taken it literally.. or it’s simply a hellhound thing to have freaking FIRE IN YOUR CHEST. But yeah grabbing me was difficult, too close to my chest and they got burned… even my freaking tank top burned away… god am i lucky i got fur covering my chest already.. the possible embarrassment!!
But yeah they apparently got me out, called the hospital… and rest is uh history.
According to the doctor’s i had several broken bones… collar… lower legs.. right arm and shoulder… minor fracture of the skull.. lots of shaved skin from hitting a literal brick wall..
and to top it all off… freaking 185 degree fahrenheit (or 85° Celsius for us europeans) fever.
They apparently had to put me into an ice bath… and cooled me with tons of ice packs to try and fight the “fever”. Only when Erian, after they had called him in for a consult, figured out what was going on, they simply put me on heat proof bedding and sheets… and kept the temperatures from reaching too high. Guess we Hellhounds can grow a flame organ, kinda like dragons, in our chest.. When I asked them later if that means I can breathe fire they shrugged… I tried but nothing came out except for some smoke.. we all start small… but what we did find out was that, the heat that the organ produces is linked to my emotions.
When i get angry, it goes up a lot! Happiness and excitement raises it somewhat and the calmer i am, the more towards “normal” temperatures it goes… Still don’t know what sadness does cause… they didn’t wanna force me to cry… tough luck trying in the first place, but they hypoth-... hyppo… they think it would lower the temperature further.
Anyway i am trying my best to stay calm and not get mad cause… while my organ is already functioning pretty well… my body still can’t handle the heat super well… It hurts when it gets too high and I end up with fever symptoms… so yeah gotta wait till I build up some resistance.
Oh if you’re interested… i was apparently out for about 12 days- plus side, almost two new releases of my shows to watch! But… when i was out… I had some weird dreams… about the moon?... but also about those places i’ve seen from that ritual… They asked me to elaborate about it but nuh-uh, not gonna say a word to them! Not before I talked to Mars about it. Anyway yeah i remember some… weird creature trying to talk to me, didn’t understand a single word but it looked… at least a very little like mars… just… no visible eyes.. some long ass head… and big fucking grin…
Had some time to think about it all a bit.. and one thing strikes me as odd. While i do take my meds during the early hours and the evening… the changes happen mostly at night… at least the biggest ones… sure the pain carries through the day but it only ever gets really bad at night… So it’s odd that my organ started to become active during the day… hm… bad luck i guess.
Now I gotta explain myself to Erian… way too many questions but he allowed me to rest for now before he comes back and asks them again… “Where did you get those meds? What species did you choose? Are you getting your check ups? Did you think for a moment before taking some back alley medicine?!”... blah blah…. as if it wasn’t partly his fault i had to ask some more… devious powers to help. Not that I regret it. Though it was nice of him to talk to the staff to let me continue taking those meds for now! I’m also back on his schedule again… probably better to be on “Mysterious alien provided Hellhound HRT” with a doctor that has seen a couple weird things already. Therian care seems to be still a little bit of an issue in most hospitals.... then again who can say they have an idea how to treat a hellhound… not something people face on a regular basis like a dog or a cat…
The only annoying part is that… i’m now pretty much stationary… I get some visits from friends of the support group, and the runners group too, they bring me things I need… like a new tank top for when i finally get out of here…
Oh yeah-... and the pain… god having broken bones AND changing bone structure is NO FUN! And the painkillers they give me are wack…. urgh note to myself… if anything feels slightly off before or during a run… stick to the low ground…

Yay Part two done! Lets keep the fun times going~

H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
~♡• he's trimmed for sure, and yeah... the same gorgeous golden locks travel south, if ya catch my drift ;)
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
~♡• he tries to be as light hearted as possible but if you're having a romantic romp, he's gonna be praising you with every thrust. stroking your cheek or your hair. just overall being so loving and attentive
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
~♡• if you two aren't living together, he's jacking off at least 3 times a week. he has a high drive but nothing compares to burying his cock inside you.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
~♡• oh he has a ridiculous Daddy kink, argue with the wall lmao, he also loves some BDSM, and choking
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
~♡• at home, specifically the bedroom, that's the only thing that isn't outta the blue when fucking him, he likes to stick to the classics there
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
~♡• sitting on his lap, running your hands through his hair, oh and calling him Daddy is a sure fire way to let him know you need railed asap
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
~♡• he might have a Daddy kink but he doesn't fuck with ageplay
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
~♡• he definitely prefers giving and oh boy does he show it, he has you coming undone in three minuets flat most of the time. but he will happily lay back and let you suck him off, he loves seeing that pretty little face of yours full of his cock.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
~♡• honestly, it depends on the day, mostly he has rough thrusts will medium pace
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
~♡• eh not often, when he has you he wants to savor you. he's got to be desperate to cum to have a quickie
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
~♡• he's down to try almost anything once, he does have his limits though
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
~♡• he maxes out at 4 rounds, around 15-20 minuets for the first two rounds and 10 for the last two
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
~♡• he loves toys, the more the merrier. he loves to push you to the limit when he fucks you. he'll be pounding into you while holding a vibrator to your most sensitive parts, making you cum over and over again
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
~♡• oh he's a tease but he can't handle being teased. he'll tease you to tears but if you try to get him back he'd give up almost immediately
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
~♡• ooof my favorite question, he's loud. he moans and groans and whines. he's the type of man that moans "I'm gonna cum... oh.. oh fuck.. I'm cumming" or he'll just repeat "I'm cumming.. I'm cumming..!" when he's releasing inside of you. he does it in such a delectably whiny voice, he almost sounds pathetic... it's so sexy. (hi im bunnie and i have a wicked voice kink)
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
~♡• he's a hair puller, he loves grabbing a fistful of your hair and yanking on it as hard has he can. he loves seeing your eyes instantly roll to the back of your skull.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
~♡• 7in length, 1.5 in girth and curves slightly upward
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
~♡• he's a pretty horny being, on a scale from 1-10 hes an 8.5
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
~♡• he tries his hardest to make sure you fall asleep before he does, he wants to provide proper aftercare, especially after those super long sessions. but there have been one or two times he's fallen asleep before you, which he goofily and thoroughly apologized for the next morning
~~~~~~~~~~
i've never done one of these before! that was sooo fun!
An extension to the PIDW x Ever After High AU
The first post was pretty short so I'm going to put it here too.
For clarity, the 'parents' in this AU are the OG PIDW characters, and will go by their courtesy name, and the children are an AU version of them and have their birth name (so SQQ is the parent and SJ is the kid, YQY is the parent and YQ is the kid, LBG, is the parent, and  LBM is the kid, or at least a more mentally stable version of Bingmei? etc)
SJ is pretty much fanon SJ, and a very mellowed out version of him, since in this AU, he didn't end up as a slave. Still traumatized tho. I like my Shen Jius traumatized. Shen Jiu is Raven in this AU, and he DOES NOT like his destiny. That's putting it lightly. NO ONE is happy. YQ doesn't want to be forced to abandon SJ and go through a horrifying qi deviation in the Lingxi Caves. And have his little brother's severed legs be sent to him as a present one day, and walk to his death the next. Yikes. Liu Mingyu doesn't want to die prematurely and have his shixiong be falsely accused of his murder. And Binghe doesn't like it either because he had a better childhood too, and is, well, disturbed, by the shit his father did, and the fate that's written for him. Binghe has his issues and he's that one quote "My father is the worst man alive and I am his favourite son". Like he knows the shit his dad did was completely unhinged. Him and the Book of Legends bear most of his hatred, and he never really has anything against Shen Jiu.
Everything just sorta revolves around everyone finding out what kinda person 'Shen Qingqiu' really is, along with the defying destiny thing Ever After High had going on. All the kids are just getting along far better than any of their parents did. The other mxtx characters are in here too, Wei Ying, Lan Zhan, Wen Ning, etc.
LBG is totally going to be here too. He's acting all creepy towards SJ, like this mf is so close to tearing his off limbs too, and he's really tryna hold himself back. And he's fully planning to torture him too once his son puts Shen Jiu is the water prison because his SQQ is already dead. When he sees SJ in the flesh, he's eying him in a way that screams "I'm going to own you and there's little stopping me from having you in chains like your father." SJ is not so subtly hiding behind LBM, while LBM is so ready to fight his father to the death for SJ.
The OG PLs from PIDW will definitely have some fucking regrets and will try to make it up to SJ coz the person they actually wronged is long dead (or is he?). And the peak lord kids are running interference everytime their parents want to get close to SJ, with maybe the exception of SQH and LQG. OG! LQG is alive because. Well I'll think of smt later. Plant body revival????
QHT has a son and a daughter who are supposed to be QJL and QHT, as is their so-called destiny. During Legacy Day, the kid that's supposed to end up like QJL sees flashes of his uncle's life and ofc he'll end up seeing the abuse SQQ endured under him. It is at that moment, what really happened in the Qiu manor was revealed. QHT's son is actually a chill dude who hates his destiny too and hates his uncle even more. SJ and QHT's kids are cool with each other, and this pisses off QHT so much lol.
Now more onto SQQ.
This mf is ALIVE and KICKING. And by that I mean he absolutely did pull mushroom body getaway and did some serious demonic cultivator bullshit to animate his dead body like some voodoo god. LBG was straight up torturing a corpse lol. SQQ originally didn't want to sign either but decided to do it anyway because he knew LBG definitely wanted to. SQQ thought that he should legitimately try to kill him so he doesn't turn into that. SQQ knew that ofc he would ultimately die in the end, but thought his villain halo could still try to do some damage to LBG, and to prevent his rise to power, and work against the destiny he signed at the same time. Obviously, the protagonist still had to come out on top and SQQ failed miserably. So. Mushroom getaway>>
Listen, those mushrooms were obviously supposed to be used in the OG PIDW. and somehow weren't iirc. And it was supposed to be used by a villain. So yes, SQQ's generation does end up being PIDW complacent. Except SQQ is a smartass and is living his life away from any destiny bullshit rn.
SJ/LBM will reunite with SQQ.
SQQ will end up liking LBM but he's still a mother hen, so he'll be giving him a really hard time before he's ready to let him anywhere near his son.
SQQ was separated from his son until this point. The name SQQ meant to give him was Jiu, as in turtledove. Which has this whole meaning of 'enduring love'. He meant for SJ to not turn out like him and to live out his best life despite what life throws at him. I absolutely love the fics where the author makes the Jiu in Shen Jiu be the character for turtledove. And with SQQ-J taking care of his younger self in a way. SQQ and SJ are going to have the fluffiest father-son relationship because I deem it to be so. Unlike LBG and LBM, my badd:/ Have fun with those daddy issues, buddy.
Within the chaos that is SQQ's mind, he really did not regret doing what he did to LBG, but y'know, having some time to himself while he was on his sabbatical, he learnt a few things about himself, and how he used LBG's future self to justify trying to kill smn who otherwise didn't do anything wrong (yet). And the fact that things could've turned out better if he truly went with his heart and hadn't signed the book like his son will HAUNT HIM. Sure LBG may or may not have wanted his destiny but SQQ definitely didn't!! He could've fucked up his story by not signing it just the same!! This is totally not eating him up alive!! Yup!! He just haddddd to sign it and thought be could kill LBG to avoid future devastation. Said future devastation still came to pass lol. RIP SQQ's sanity, I truly feel for you.
Let me make this worse. LBG didn't want to sign it either and was peer pressured into doing it. He genuinely thought he could reason with SQQ after Legacy Day and tell him he really didn't want them to hurt each other. And he was so sure SQQ felt the same way, he could've sworn they were on the same page- but then he saw how determined SQQ was to sign the Book of Legends on Legacy Day. And when SQQ's hardened gaze locked in on LBG, he met SQQ's eyes, promising a future of pain for them both. LBG ignores the way his heart shatters at the resolution.
Look, enemies to lovers BingJiu is fine and all, but consider LOVERS to ENEMIES BINGJIU!!! I'm just imagining BingJiu animatics in head with Taylor Swift's Bad Blood egckfxv.,
Coz yes, even the prev B9 gen totally had smt going on. Too bad for them tho, it ain't happening.
The rest is stuff from the first post >>>
Imagine how fucked up it would be if Shen Jiu is up there doing the book signing ceremony that seals his destiny of becoming the next 'Shen Qingqiu', and the mirrors display him getting thrown away by his martial siblings at the trial, and his limbs being torn off and other despicable tortures, and being brought down so low that your humanity is stripped away from you, all for an audience to see. And they cheer. The crowd is ecstatic, perhaps even more so than when his father, Shen Qingqiu, was put on trial.
 Shen Jiu x Pain is my favourite ship, can you tell??
Shen Jiu is barely 15 when this happens and every goddamn person is reveling in this child getting tortured. Amidst the sea of people who loathe him, there is one person not advocating for his death, and that is LBH’s son!! The very person that’s supposed to kill him!!! When LBM sees the same hopelessness that he feels in SJ’s eyes, he decides at that moment that he will be SJ’s number one defender. Everything else be damned. When SJ announces that he will not be pledging to a life of misery, LBM gets up on that stage and makes it clear that he won’t either.
OML I did smt cool. You see the parallel I just fucking made wowwwwww.
Snippets that my mutes made for this AU 🩷🩷🩷
Lucifer the cat
Ivy asks Jace and Harry Badun to go get Carlos for her, and they have barely any choice but to oblige. But hey, at least they’ll finally give Carlos back his cat.
Technically a bonus scene for Dead Beauty AU, but I think it can be read separately. I hope.
For @hannahhook7744! I hope you like it! ♥♥♥
„Harry! Jace!“ Ivy’s shrill voice sounds through the Hell Hall and Jace Badun sighs.
„Come here!“
Not a heartbeat later, Diego calls out too:
„It’s urgent!“
Of course it is.
Of fucking course it is.
Still, Jace has little to no choice but to come – well, his other choice is not coming and risking the deVil heirs complaining to their Auntie. And, well, Jace likes his ears working and also still attached to his body, thank you.
So, he puts down the rag he was using to shine some of Cruella’s, eh, decorations, and sets out to find his cousin: Ivy did call for both of them, and he is not paid enough to deal with this alone.
…Actually, he’s not paid at all.
Not that anyone asked.
He locates Harry easily enough, and doesn’t bother looking for his dad or uncle – if they’re in the villa, they heard, and if they’re out running errands for Cruella, they won’t be home for hours.
„What did she want?“ Harry asks as they walk, and even that question echoes. That’s just a thing Hell Hall does, and Jace should be used to that after all this time.
Still, this house just gives him creeps.
„I’m sure we will find out soon enough,“ he grunts out in between his teeth, trying to hide his irritability.
You see, one can never tell where Ivy’s requests will land: It may be anything from „I want the new issue of this fashion magasine“ through „I run out of the Overgrowths tea mix“ (which she regularly tries to poison herself with) to „Hey yeah help me get rid of this body real quick.“
„It’s not another body, is it,“ whispers Harry, as they’re nearing the apartment Ivy currently uses.
And, yeah, hopefully not:
„Diego could handle that,“ answers Jace.
„Yeah, you’re right.“
Both cousins know what Diego de Vil is capable of, and neither wish to discuss it; the fall into silence, which lasts up until they finally find Ivy. And Diego.
And – somehow unsurprisingly – Claudine Frollo, who sits curled up into Ivy.
Jace doesn’t bother with greetings.
„What did you want?“ he asks flatly.
Only now the de Vils drop the horrendous talk about each other’s situationships –
 Somehow undisturbed by their presence <i>or</i> by Claudine’s – and Diego adresses them:
„You need to find Carlos and tell him to see us in the tree house, as soon as he can,“ he informs them, „Tell him, I don’t know. Tell him we’ve got his cat or something.“
Oh, what a joy.
Jace just hopes Cruella didn’t yet hear about her wayward son, and that she never will; Harry subtly nudges him to look at the empty weapon’s case. Jace thinks that if he ignores that hard enough, it will not become his problem.
Well, desperately hopes, more like.
„We do have his cat,“ he says instead of that, and bites his lip instead of adding  „You know that, right?“ because of course they don’t.
The cat probably wouldn’t have survived Hell Hall otherwise.
Actually very possibly wouldn’t survive, based on the face Claudine is pulling.
(Jace had thought they might have Frollo’s daughter’s sympathies, once, but he had stopped trying to catch her eye a long time ago.)
„You do?“
Yeah, Jace isn’t the slightest bit surprised they didn‘t know, he elbows Harry for not bothering to hide his snort of amusement.
„Well, good for you, I suppose,“ Ivy sighs, barely bothering to pretend like she cares, „Now go get him.“
She shooes at them with her cigarette and in that moment she looks so much like her aunt that both cousins only just manage not to flinch.
They get out of her rooms without another word.
„So Carlos is back, huh,“ Harry says when they’re safely out of hearing range.
„Guess he is.“
There isn’t much more to say.
„Did you hear anything?“
You see, news travel fast on the Isle.
Jace has to think about that for a moment: Hermie hadn’t said anything, the half street rat that she is, but Yzla:
„Yzla said there was some commotion at the salon last time she was there – maybe it could be related?“
For, you see: Villain kids drama always ends up at the Tremaine salon.
(And Yzla, being a Villain kid herself, she would know.)
„Probably,“ agrees Harry half-heartedly. They don’t speak again, as neither wants to confront their feelings about the youngest de Vil returning, they don’t speak until they reach the run-down room in the darker entrails of Hell Hall that they share.
„Pspspspsps, Lucifer, good kitty-cat, psps,“ Jace whispers to the room while Harry ruffles around to find his boxer and knife – Isle streets are tough and the so-called sidekick privledge only goes so far.
The only answer is the vaguely murder-y hissing of the cat.
Still, following the sound, Jace bends down to look under the bed and sure enough: Lucifer is there, his eyes glowing as his namesake’s.
„Come here,“ Jace sighs, reaching under the bed. He doesn’t flinch or even hiss when the cat scratches him bloody.
„You! You are going back to Carlos, you know that!“
Nevermind how Yzla will pout at losing the kitty she could play with anytime, Jace and Harry will be happy to have the animal out of their hair.
Finally, the cat captured, Jace slowly gets up from his knees, and looks at his cousin.
„Let’s go?“ Harry says it as a question.
Jace nods.
„They’ll probably be at the Bargain Castle.“
What with it being deserted.
Mercifully, the walk to the marketplace and the desolate castle is quick, and when they knock on the front door, Evie opens them.
She flutters her eyelashes at them, at which Jace is pretty unimpressed but Harry straightens his back, and before she can speak, Jace says: „We’re looking for Caros.“
Evie purses her lips, annoyed that he doesn’t want to play her little game, but steps aside to let them in.
„He’s in the tower with Mal. You know, to the throne room, all the way to the left, and all the way up.“
They don’t know, actually.
„And keep that cat away from the potions ingredients,“ she says with a nod towards Lucifer, „And my wardrobe, will you.“ She doesn’t bother phrasing it like a question either.
So, yeah. Into the Bargain Castle it is. And if you ask Jace, this place is every last bit as creepy as the Hell Hall – maybe more so, in its unfamiliarness.
They do reach the tower easily, and knock on the door with an old sign of Mal’s name soon enough.
Carlos opens the door.
They stare at each other for few awkward moments, surprised to actually see one another after so long. Eventually, Jace decides to bite the bullet: „Your cousins want to see you,“ he blurts out. Few more awkward beats of silence, and: „Also, we have your cat.“
Finally, that does get a reaction out of Carlos, and the ice breaks. They leave for Hell Hall soon after, mission accomplished, leaving the cat and Mal hissing at each other.
Still safer for Lucifer than Hell Hall, Jace supposes.
second chances
another halbarry ficlet. spoilers for kevin smith's GA bc this story takes place directly after his run. can maybe be read as platonic. featuring spectre hal and afterlife barry, enjoy :)
---
Heaven has never been a particularly loud place. The sprawling hills that seem to stretch on endlessly provide each resident more than enough space to comfortably exist, and even then, the blissful peace that comes with complete and utter contentment lends to a lack of a need to converse or even speak in and of itself. Save for the whoops and laughter of the young boy wonder who inconspicuously showed up at the pearly gates only a few years after him, Barry has always known the afterlife to be nothing less than tranquil.
And yet, as he runs his thumb along the shaft of one of the arrows that have, as of recently, been left abandoned in the luscious green grass, he can’t help but think Heaven seems the quietest it’s ever been.
Too quiet, even, perhaps.
Seeing someone enter through the gates of this place only to return back to the land of the living has been far from unheard of. Barry remembers his bittersweet reunion with Clark some time ago, only for Clark’s soul to be pulled back to his body a short time after. But he has to admit, Oliver’s revival, in particular, has him slightly… surprised, due to the way Ollie had adamantly and consistently refused the second chance Hal so desperately wanted to give him.
Speaking of Hal, Barry senses his presence before he sees him. Well, mostly he senses the Spectre’s wild, angry, vengeful spirit, but he can perceive Hal, too, the loving, sentimental, willful man he’s always been veiled just beneath the powerful force of the wraith he’s bound to. There’s also sadness and guilt—so, so much guilt that it seems to physically weigh on his shoulders and in his eyes, and each time Barry sees him he’s harshly reminded that Hal has not yet earned his place in paradise.
“So, he’s really gone fully back?” Barry asks, continuing to study the arrow in his hand.
“Yes,” Hal’s voice answers from somewhere behind him. “For now, at least.”
Barry hums and nods. He swallows hard, feeling a prick of bittersweet grief in his chest. Zooming around the valley and scooping up all of the arrows scattered in the grass, he places them back into the quiver and leans it up against the target next to the bow.
“I kinda thought you’d seem… I dunno. Happier?” Hal comments after a moment. “Now that he’s gone. You two always did butt heads.”
“Yeah, we did,” Barry lets out an amused breath of laughter. A lifetime of heated arguments and cutting words flashes through his mind, and he remembers them fondly.
Oliver’s quick wit and snappy remarks did not die with him, but Barry was met with a very different Oliver Queen standing at the gates of the afterlife, one who he at first almost didn’t recognize. Ollie carried a certain kind of weariness, hollowed to the core by a life of mistakes and insecurities and internal struggles. His eyes had welled up with tears, actual tears when he saw Barry. He’d yanked him into a long, tight hug, and Barry for not the first time had wondered what exactly became of the world after the crisis and why it seemed to leave all of his friends shells of who they once were.
“It was nice having him around,” Barry says. He runs his hand down the edge of the red and white target, reminiscing as he’s so prone to do nowadays. “He mellowed out in his old age. I liked his company.”
He pauses, glancing at the empty valley he and Oliver used to spend hours playing in together.
“But,” he adds, “I’m glad he’s embraced the second chance he’s been given on Earth. If not for him, then at least for the people who loved him.”
“I wanted to bring you back, too.”
Barry stops. He turns around to look at Hal for the first time since he showed up and can just barely catch a glimpse of a too-pale face and dark eyes under a large, shadowy hood.
“I tried,” Hal’s eyes lower fractionally, like he can’t bear to meet Barry’s gaze. “But you—it’s been so long since your—there just wasn’t anything left of you to put back together.”
As he speaks, his words are heavy with shame. Whether that’s due to his failure to bring Barry back to life or that he tried to do it at all, Barry isn't sure.
“Well, that’s okay,” Barry says, and he offers Hal a genuine smile to show him that he means it, really and truly. “My time in the sun is long over, Hal. From what I’ve heard, Wally’s filled my boots just fine as the Flash.”
“It wasn’t the Flash I was trying to bring back,” Hal’s eyes lift to look at him head-on. The light of Heaven’s eternal day hits his face more, illuminating his tightened jaw. “It was Barry Allen.”
“Hal…” Barry sighs. He reaches to pull back his cowl and runs a hand through his hair.
“There’re people who love you, too,” Hal says, his voice slightly wavering. “People who would do… anything. Anything to have you back with them.”
Hal pushes back the hood on his head, letting it pool around his neck and shoulders, and Barry can see his entire face, from the deep frown tugging at his eyebrows and lips to the despair glimmering in his eyes. The years of compounded grief that, even in death, has left him looking aged and worn. Barry’s heart begins to ache.
“I know,” Barry says softly.
Because even before he died, Barry never doubted that Hal loved him. There was a special, unspoken connection between them, and in his final moments, one of Barry’s biggest regrets was leaving it unspoken. Now, though, Barry’s realized that maybe it wasn’t as unspoken as he’d thought.
Their individual paths of life split off from one another long ago, with Barry’s cut short and Hal’s a dark, winding road of pain and suffering. But in death, here they are, together. Although it isn’t like it used to be, and it’s far from a second chance for both of them in the way they'd like it to be, it’s still something to cherish and make the most of.
“Hey,” Barry moves to stand at Hal’s side, bumping their shoulders, “you don’t need to go back to work right away, do you?”
“No,” Hal tilts his head, that unruly chunk of hair becoming dislodged. Barry doesn’t bother to hold himself back from reaching to push it back into place. “Why?”
“Because we should race,” Barry gestures to the wide, open valley. “Like old times.”
Hal blinks. Then, he breaks out into a grin that’s rare nowadays. In a flash of green light, Hal is wearing his Green Lantern uniform, ring pulsating on his fist as he levitates from the ground.
“Alright, Barry,” Hal says, and his voice has already brightened significantly. “Let’s race.”
Barry pulls his cowl back onto his face, dips into a running position, and waits for Hal’s starting gun construct to go off.
Things aren’t the same. They’re on borrowed time before Hal has to go back to his work as the Spectre. Barry will have to remain here, and it could be minutes or eternities before they find themselves together again.
So all they can do now is make every last second count.
Hi, I really like your writing and I hope you're doing ok. Can you write the werehog finding the reader awake at nighttime because they've been struggling with misophonia and didn't tell anyone? (Personally I do this because there are less triggering sounds at night and I can focus more than in daytime) and maybe the next morning they go out together to buy earplugs or stress toys? Thank you!
silent nights
Tumblr media
WARNING: Misophonia (sound sensitivity, coping struggles), mild self-isolation themes
PAIRING: Sonic the Hedgehog x Reader
NOTE: Hi there! <3 Thank you so much for this thoughtful and heartfelt request. I love how personal this feels. I hope you enjoy this (and that it feels like a warm hug)! Take care of yourself, and thank you for trusting me with this idea. You’re amazing!
SUMMARY: After a particularly overstimulating day, you sneak out of bed in the middle of the night, desperate for the peace and quiet that daytime rarely offers. Unbeknownst to you, Sonic isn’t much of a sleeper either.
Tumblr media
The house was still, save for the quiet creak of the floor beneath your socks as you tiptoed down the hall. Nighttime had become your haven, an escape from the overstimulation of the day. No buzzing conversations. No clinking dishes or distant hums of appliances. Just the comforting stillness that let you think and breathe without interruption.
You’d tried to sleep earlier, of course. Curled up in bed, eyes squeezed shut, but the phantom echoes of daytime noise lingered. Every shuffle of fabric, every faint creak of a settling house, grated against your nerves until you couldn’t take it anymore. So here you were, sitting at the kitchen table with nothing but the hum of the fridge for company.
It was better this way. Or at least, that’s what you told yourself as you nursed a mug of lukewarm tea, staring out the window at the quiet, moonlit street.
“Couldn’t sleep either, huh?”
You nearly jumped out of your chair, heart leaping to your throat as a deep, gravelly voice broke the silence. Turning quickly, you found Sonic—or rather, the large, furry form of his Werehog self—leaning casually against the doorframe.
“Geez, you scared me,” you muttered, clutching your chest as your heart tried to calm down.
“Sorry,” he said, padding into the kitchen on. “Didn’t mean to sneak up on ya. You okay?”
You hesitated, fiddling with the handle of your mug. You hadn’t told him—or anyone—about your struggles with misophonia. It felt hard to explain, harder to share, and you didn’t want to sound… difficult. “Just… couldn’t sleep,” you mumbled. Not a total lie, but not the whole truth either.
Sonic tilted his head, his fluffy ears twitching. “Y’know, I’ve pulled that move a lotta times. ‘Can’t sleep’ really means ‘something’s on my mind.’ Wanna spill it?”
You glanced away, unsure how to put it into words. But Sonic didn’t rush you. He just grabbed an apple from the counter and sank his sharp teeth into it, waiting patiently as he leaned against the wall. His presence was calming in a strange way—big and protective, but not overbearing.
Finally, you sighed. “It’s… the noise. During the day. It’s just too much sometimes, and I can’t deal with it. At night, it’s quiet, and I can think. I just… didn’t want to bother anyone with it.”
Sonic stopped chewing, his ears flicking again as he studied you. Then, without missing a beat, he plopped down across from you at the table, resting his chin on his massive hand. “That’s not bothering anyone,” he said, voice softer than you expected. “That’s you trying to survive. And you don’t have to do it alone.”
Your throat tightened at his words. You’d braced for teasing or dismissal, but Sonic didn’t seem interested in either. His expression was sincere, almost protective, as if he was already running through solutions in his mind.
“Tell you what,” he said after a moment, his usual grin creeping back. “Tomorrow, we’re gonna hit up some stores. Grab you some earplugs, noise-canceling stuff, whatever helps. Maybe one of those stress toy things—y’know, the squishy ones that look like donuts? Those are fun.”
You couldn’t help but laugh, the sound soft but genuine. “You’d get me a squishy donut?”
“I’d get you a whole box if it’d help,” Sonic said with a wink, leaning back in his chair. “But only if you let me have one. Deal?”
“Deal,” you said, feeling a warmth in your chest that hadn’t been there before.
The next morning, true to his word, Sonic dragged you out to a small shop in town, his Werehog form now replaced with his usual blue self. The trip was surprisingly fun, with Sonic cracking jokes and making a game out of testing every stress toy in sight. He even modeled a pair of comically oversized earmuffs, earning a snort of laughter from you.
By the time you got home, you felt lighter. Armed with a bag of tools to help manage the noise—and that squishy donut stress toy in hand—you realized that maybe you didn’t have to handle everything on your own. And with Sonic around, it was a little easier to believe.
Hi, can I get the prompt 50 for my favorite white haired villain (Karlheinz) for my first ask.
As for the second one, I'd like to have some sort of short fic if possible (?) for this Isekai ask with him
I do not do fics unless it is with a prompt of mine so I made Hc's instead.
Tw: Yandere themes, possessive behavior, obsession, stalking, manipulation, mind-break, isolation, abduction
🍷Teeth sinking into the flesh of your lower lip, stiffled sobs tearing through your chest, warm tears streaming down your face. Truly, you are not in your most presentable state when Karlheinz discovers you one night in a desolate part of the city. Lonely, scared and in the deepest clutches of despair. Emotions he could never feel himself, a life that shouldn't concern him in the least. Yet it is no coincidence that Karlheinz has found you here. No, he's been searching for you. There is a strange energy which surrounds you, wraps itself around your figure like a second skin. An unfamiliar buzz of magic he has never encountered before in his life and it is the scientist within him that finds intrigue with that. To think that there would still be something in this world that he hasn't figured out yet distracts him from the usual boredom that has accompanied him for so many centuries now. You yourself seem painfully ordinary though, one human of many in the city which makes the energy radiating off of you only more fascinating. Karlheinz approaches you with the same gentle and charming approach he has fooled thousands of others before yet in your face he can only see shock and recognition.
🍷Recognition not of his other personality as a benevolent politicion but of his true identity as the Vampire King, as the strongest being in this world. It only takes you brief seconds to shut those emotions down yet by that point it is already far too late. How could you possibly know who he is? You, an ordinary and powerless little thing? Golden eyes rest heavily upon your mortal form, seemingly glancing into your soul with their controlled intensity. Yet he doesn't immediately starts the elephant in the room. He has all the time in the world after all, he knows that he will get his answers the moment he desires to have them. Instead he states that you have an empty stomach, offers you to feed you as he notices that you have neither a phone nor any wallet or money on you. Instant rejection, your panic leading to your next mistake as you only further dig your hole. Your swift action to shut him down are a strong contraction against your meek attempts to pretend as if you do not know him. He tolerates those frail attempts of yours, his eyes studying you with an interest he hasn't expressed in years. That suffocating composure and confidence never once leaving his expressions.
🍷You may try to refuse him as much as your stubborn and anxious heart desires yet he points out just how detrimental it would be to you to reject his kindly offered hand. After all you speak neither Japanese nor do you carry any money around with you. What do you hope to accomplish? Where do you plan to go? His words make you waver as you cannot deny the truth in them. Still, he has learned that fear is the more infectious condition than logic could ever wish to be. It's fear of him that pushes you away from him. Whether you honestly believe that he wouldn't find you again or whether it is the fear taking over your mind and switching off your ability to think ahead, his offers are best to be not rejected. You're tired, weak, dehydrated and hungry. He can't just let you collapse now that he has discovered you. Karlheinz is a man much too attentive and devoted to his studies to treat them with disinterest and idleness. You are part of a new study now, you are someone he wants as he wishes to figure you out. Your existence feels like something that doesn't belong here yet still there you are in flesh and blood. You shouldn't neglect your own health in favor of running when there is no need, he still needs you.
🍷There are no urgent answers you see yourself forced to give though for this would be far too easy and even dishonorable for him to consider. The Vampire King yearns to unravel the mystery of your existence himself and he devotes himself to this task. You are treated mostly well yet the tension is something that never leaves your muscles as if you always expect him to murder you brutally the next moment. Believe him, he is no brute who would ever get his own hands bloody. If he would have wanted to kill you he would have done so already. Already aware that you know who he is Karlheinz doesn't hide his identity from you either whilst simultanously never indulging you either. There's always the same composed expression on his face when you try to ask him something or create your own theories about him, your eyes uselessly darting over his face to read something that will give him away. Sometimes you threaten him weakly that you will call the police yet that meek threat quickly dies down whenever he looks at you, stating in a tone far too soothing for a monster like him that you may do so if you truly believe it to be a good idea. Unsurprisingly you never attempt to inform the police.
🍷He realises relatively early on that he seems to be uncharacteristically attached to you and your little antics yet he initially believes that it is only based on the mystery of you that he wishes to discover. It is his first and only wrong assumption in regards to his own feelings as slowly he realises that his feelings have been turning into something entirely new, something he understands so well in others yet has never felt himself. Love. Dark, possessive and doomed to trap you yet love nonetheless. There's no instant smothering though for it is not the route he trades upon. It starts much more subtle as he turns it into a little bet with himself. He decides to not claim you as his lover before he has figured out just what you are. A little game of delicious torture for him yet a gamble much more harmful to you. You suffer from the challenge he has created for himself, an act so indulgent and unlikely for him yet something he allows himself to receive a taste of impatience, to challenge his own skills as a scientist. It's an act of sheer sadism that he drags you into this game, enjoyment and adoration coursing through his undead heart as he slowly molds you to be his own.
🍷Only once he has discovered your intriguing origins does he allow himself to indulge in you, to taste you and claim you. By that point he has already driven you to desperation and despair, infiltrated your heart so that you cannot help but love him and yearn for him. The important details he then gets from you though and you tell him at that point almost willingly, mushy as soon as his fingers fo as much as grace your cheek. It's a strange yet curious idea that he has existed to you so far only from a screen whenever you were playing a game yet it brings with it the theory that maybe there are loose connections between different worlds that inspire others in such interesting ways as you have described. There is nothing left for him to explore for him in his world but your appearance is the catalyst for him to start investigate the idea of a multiverse with you as his first living proof. Research on how to enable someone to travel between different realities is something he intends to figure out yet not because he wishes to send you back home. It's all done simply for his own scientific interest. He doesn't plan to ever let you leave him and even you aren't sure anymore if you handle not being with Karlheinz.
