So can we talk about how iconic she is? What a QUEEN she is! When she was explaining how to use the gun and during the shooting, she looked so badass! you've recently discovered this record shop, the perfect place to find everything of the new kind of music you've just gotten into, rock. your friends wouldn't share this interest with you but maybe the cute guy from the store will.

BASED ON THE GUY SHE WAS INTERESTED IN WASN'T A GUY AT ALL !!!! i love that manga so much i needed an ellie version so i did it myself. of course this is going to be shorter and pleeaase go read it i swear you won't regret it <3 i hardly recommend you to listen to the manga's playlist too, i'll add some of the songs to this fanfic. literally all i want is my lesbians to have the recognition they deserve. ALSO green is the characteristic color of that manga so i'll be using it here too, everything will be green bc we love green lesbians.

it's been a long day at school but at least the week of exams has ended and you've done pretty good. "i deserve a prize" you think to yourself while your feet guide you out of the building. certainly the exams drained you, the only thing you want to do now is take a long nap to catch up on sleep.

walking down the sidewalk, you put on your headphones which have been your best friends for the last few months when you discovered this band nirvana. it is in fact a popular band but in your friend group? no, not at all. your friends prefer other kind of music. pop, kpop, even jazz, but rock? impossible.

so you find yourself unable to share your new music taste with your friends. even if you beg them to give it a chance, they'll refuse it every time. this is definitely the worst, how are you supposed to fully enjoy this work of art only by yourself? they definitely don't understand what good music is, if only they gave it a chance you could-

just when the music from your headphones stopped, you could still hear one of your favorite songs smells like teen spirit coming from a... record store?

your mind is full of questions, since when has been this store here? this is just 5 minutes away from school and you've never noticed it. maybe this is the prize you deserve for having successfully passed all your exams. buying your very first vinyl will surely be the boost of serotonin you need.

you took off your headphones before getting into the store and quickly walked to check all the beautiful vinyls. the excitement could be seen in your eyes, all the vinyls of your favorite bands in one store and you're even considering finding a job, buying everything of this store is not a want but a necessity. this must be heaven.

after what felt like seconds but were actually 20 long minutes, you finally make your choice and find the vinyl that'll have the privilege to be your very first and most appreciated acquisition.

you turn around, walk towards the shop counter and just then realize how rude of you was not to greet the old man at the store. however, you don't care that much, he should understand that you were too excited to even speak and... was it an old man? did you even look at the person who was next to you the last 20 minutes?

"i'll take this" you place the vinyl on the counter before looking up at the person in front of you.

but now, you reassure one more time that you're not on earth anymore. this is definitely heaven, or maybe something greater because the angel in front of you isn't from this planet at all. green eyes, auburn hair drawn back in a messy bun, a scar on one eyebrow, black clothes with a nirvana t-shirt, an arm tattoo and a mask. this is the most gorgeous guy you've seen in your entire life and you were rude to him, you didn't talk to him for this entire time.

"i love this one" he gave you your new purchase in a bag "you have good taste" that raspy voice that'll live in your mind rent free for an eternity, you're sure about that.

meanwhile, your mind has been spinning for the last 30 seconds. a cute guy with a stunning style and majestic music taste, you've seen only his eyes but you can already imagine a life with him where you get married and play your favorite songs in your wedding.

"thanks, you too. bye" and just like that the conversation ended. you're definitely not the most flirtatious person but you didn't ask him anything, maybe it was too soon to ask for his number but not even his name? really? you can already hear your friends scolding you but at least you remember half of his face and that's enough to be delusional the following months until you find another crush.

8 in the morning and you've been talking for half an hour to your friends about this cute guy from the record store. of course they scolded you for not asking his name but your excitement couldn't be taken away that easily. no other boy from your school has ever made you feel like this, no one called your attention like he did.

"is there any possibility that you see your boy again?" dina, your best friend asked "and maybe ask him out"

"dina!" you frowned as if she had just said the craziest thing you've heard in your life "it's too soon for that. but as soon as i see him again i'll ask him his name" you started kicking your feet "and he'll fall in love with me."

dina and your bursted out laughing and spent the whole morning planning your future life with someone you saw once.

maybe you've been talking too loud or maybe she doesn't like you, but the girl next to you has been glancing at you and dina and she seemed a little too much interested in your conversation.

ellie. you've been classmates for almost a year but you two never spoke. she's like any other girl at school. she wears the same uniform as you, a white shirt and a gray skirt. she also wears these square glasses and she has her headphones on most of the time.

she seems like one of those nerds but one that doesn't participate that much in class. she comes to class, listens to the professors and goes home. you've never seen her talking to any other classmates but she seems comfortable only drawing on her notebook and listening to something on her headphones, it's not that you don't like her, but you haven't had the opportunity to get to know her.

but today she seemed quite distracted and instead of focusing on the class, she was focused on you. she seemed nervous, maybe she wanted to join the conversation and make some friends?

however, the bell rang. you were too busy talking about your new guy to try to figure out why ellie's been looking at you more than usual. you began to pack up your belongings; notebook, pencil case, some other books and, are you forgetting something?

the moment you're getting up from your seat, you can feel ellie's presence approaching you. you stare up at her for a few seconds and before you can say something, her hand reached your ear and put on one of your earbuds.

"you dropped this" your eyebrows furrowed, did she always had those pretty green eyes?

the song that you'd been listening on loop nothing at all was playing on your earbuds loud enough for her to listen to it "that song rocks, doesn't it?" and just like that she walked out the door leaving you completely confused. you're sure you've seen those eyes before, you think that maybe for a split second you stopped looking at ellie as your classmate and maybe... someone else.

on the other hand, ellie has been walking in silence staring at her feet while her mind is about to explode because the girl who sits next to her, her classmate and one of the most popular girls at school, has met and is interested in a guy who works at the record store. but no guy works there, just ellie.

she got a part time job and she's been working there for a few months but that was the first time she saw you there. you didn't recognize her though, since the style she has at her job is the opposite of the one she has at school.

probably the best option is to tell you the truth, the guy you're interested in isn't a guy and is actually the boring, nerdy girl from school, the girl you'd never talk to because that would only ruin your reputation, or at least that's what ellie thinks.

ellie thought that her job should be boring and only boring, she didn't want to have to deal with something else than that. and now that girl has a crush on her, or she has a crush on the person she thinks ellie is.

fortunately, ellie's job is calm. not many people visit the store so she spends her first hours of work tidying the place, not paying much attention to the store itself.

while cleaning at the back of the store, ellie heard the ring of the little bell on the door warning the presence of a client. she sighed and fixed her clothes before getting into the store again but got surprised when she noticed that the client was actually you.

if it weren't for the music playing at the store, the place would have been in complete silence. no one was on sight when you walked in so the sound coming from the back of the store scared you and you jumped. "you scared me, i didn't know you were here" you giggled nervously.

"have you been looking forward to it that much?" you were starting to stutter when the green eyed spoke in what seemed a flirty way. "no- i mean! the new foo fighters album" she interrupted herself "you were looking forward to it because you wanted to buy it, right?" she tried to hide her shaky voice, did she just accidentally flirt with you?

"i swear it's so good, you can hear it a thousand times and it'll still sound amazing. also, i know you like nirvana too because you bought the vinyl. you'll love it, i totally recommend it."

you were in a dream, did you just exchange more than two words with that guy? and he was showing a lot of interest it seemed unreal. you'd be a fool if you mess this up.

"i really want to buy it but uhm..." your pockets were empty, you spent all your money in that vinyl and being an unemployed student is not helpful to your situation "i'm a bit short of money right now" not to say that you're dry.

"i'm sorry but i-" yet she didn't let you finish your sentence "i bought this one for myself. you can have it and tell me your opinion when you return it."

he couldn't be more charming to you. only 5 minutes talking and you had already fell down on your knees. "thank you. you can give me your number so that i can bring it back." your hand sweating for you've finally made a move on who you thought was the guy from your dreams.

"no," no? he rejected you just like that, he didn't even a think a second to answer your question "it's just... i can't use my phone at work."

laying on the counter in front of you was a black ink pen which you quickly grabbed and started writing your phone number on his wrist next to his tattoo.

ellie looked at you stunned, she was glad she was wearing a mask because her cheeks had turned crimson. she noticed your hand shaking and that was the moment she realized the trouble she'd gotten into.

"i thought that if i wrote it on a paper, you'd lose it." the music playing in the background just made the atmosphere between you two dreamlike. you waved and smiled at him as you left the store hoping your burning cheeks would go unnoticed. not only did you have someone to share your interests with but also it was someone who you were crushing on really hard.

This was a suggestion from Jayce (so no I’m not at fault here! 🙂‍↔️). And yes, Viktor’s response was just as anyone expected: He raised his brow when he looked back at his lab partner. “You’re kidding?”

Panicky, Jayce flapped his hands to ease Viktor’s annoyance. “I hear this song everywhere and it always makes me think of you…! It’s not what I usually listen to but it gets into your brain before you know it. I genuinely thought you’d like it just a little bit. I mean… won’t you give it a listen?”

“Yeah, wrong guy, Jayce.” Jayce nodded quickly and accepted his fate. “Yeah, okay, I know this was dumb of me.”

Viktor didn’t add a word and continued his research back in his corner. Jayce grimaced, cursing at himself. “I-I’ll leave you to it, then. Text me when you’re home.”

The moment Viktor heard the door shut behind him, he sighed. He tucked his hair strings behind his ear and got back to work.

Much later, he noticed his tension grew bigger. He wasn’t being on task at all. Jayce was right. The short snippet he showed Viktor was already stuck in his head. He tried hard not to succumb to the temptation, trying to prove the air in the room that he wasn’t already a little bit hooked. Whether he’d listen to the full song and like it or not.

He looked at the time and smacked his lips. Jayce might be worried at this exact moment but Viktor felt like he couldn’t leave just now. He “barely made any progress”, he thought. He took a big breath and ran his hands over his hair. “I need a break.” He leaned over the counter to feel more relaxed and grabbed his phone in his pockets to surf the internet. But he had to take a double take when he realized he was in fact on his music app and not on social media. Already tapping the search bar. Viktor furrowed his eyebrows, aggravated by himself.

“Tsk.” He typed the lyrics he understood reluctantly, hoping that was enough for the engine to recognize what he meant. Luckily, it did. He let the song play in the background while he finally did what he intended to do with his phone: Surf the internet. When he was done with his break, he let it play on a loop “unknowingly”. He told himself he was too busy to risk and touch his phone now. That would interrupt his flow, he said.

Needless to say, it didn’t take long until he was swaying his body and snapping his fingers to the beat contently while he continued his research.

My woman. Oh how much I love her. Come on, we’ve been knowing she’d listen to lots of Beyoncé. She mostly listens to this when she’s already on a high and it’s physically impossible to hold her back. Usually it’s Elora next to her, sitting on the couch inside the karaoke room, holding her own microphone tight to her chest, absolutely fascinated by the performance she’s witnessing. Elora knows that her best friend can be a bit of a dork sometimes, but it amazes her every time anyways when it happens. But she doesn’t stay starstruck for too long, when Mel pulls her in to join her performance. They both rap Jay-Z’s part together, afterwards exchanging verses, Elora filling on the adlibs, the high notes, while Mel is grinding on her to make them both feel something. Hairs are being swung, physical space is non-existent and laughter filling the room 🥹❤️❤️ ugh I LOVE girls being silly together!!!! (I genuinely love what they have here!!! I love gays girls!!!! I love happy Mel!!!!!)

YOU KNOWWWWW Ekko’s a huge fan of Kendrick since FOREVER (and is gobbling up his new album yupyup 🙂‍↕️) and went absolutely feral this summer when this song dropped and cheered when he knew he was on the winner’s side. Ekko is a complete music nerd and will tell you every reference and metaphor of this song alone. Powder asked him ONCE (1) about the rap battle between Kenny and Drake and got info dumped within 0.000000001s :))) She loved it. Hearing him sing makes her want to move her body with him. She knows Ekko isn’t really the type to sing in front of people so when he gets all hyped up and shows this side of him she feels special.

THE GREAT LIL TRAUMA BOY INCIDENT (( STOP SUPPORTING O96O ))

Last year I had been sent an email from YouTube regarding a copyright strike on Lil trauma boy which I assumed to be one based on sample usage but turned out to be someone who had reuploaded my work under their name without prior contact or consent from me. Ever since then I’ve had an active back and forth with YouTube, Spotify and my distributor with proof of the work being mine in a full on document. As predicted none of them cared enough to look into my document and had completely swept me away, leaving me to never be able to upload the entirely of gabber due to them having copyright on my work.

I cannot express to everyone enough how much that entire scenario had impacted me, since I’m not a big artist nor did I ever think I’d be in a scenario like this, but due to the sudden rise in popularity the song had I guess it just caught on.

I wasn’t the only target here. They also uploaded the following without permission:

Ive made it very clear that I’m all for making my work accessible for people but I’ve made it very clear around that time that I didn’t want people to post my work on Spotify. I’m fine with people reuploading my work on YouTube with credit, but this was done behind my back without my permission on a platform I didn’t want to be on at the time.

All I’m asking you people for is to NOT STREAM ANYTHING THEY PUT OUT and to REMOVE IT FROM YOUR PLAYLIST. You’re giving someone who stole work money that was supposed to go to small artists. I know damn well how much this person is making off of Spotify and YouTube music and it just upsets me that this is happening. I don’t even give a single fuck about the money but I DONT agree with someone STEALING AND PROFITING OFF OF MY WORK, SAME FOR THE OTHER PEOPLE THEY STOLE FROM. This person has around 60K listeners that they shouldn’t even have. Give that to the actual artists they stole from. If you want to listen to a certain song so bad PLEASE put it in your LOCAL FILES. It’ll be accessible to you only and also don’t give money to someone who doesn’t deserve it.

At the end of the day I want people to not take my shit for granted. While I may be very laid back with a lot of things regarding my work, this is shit you should never pull on me.

I don’t care if I’m being pathetic by bringing this back up but I NEED PEOPLE TO BE AWARE. Please don’t give this person any more attention. Remove the songs, add them in your local files and even you want report them for plagiarism. If you care about us artists please do something about it.

3. Usseewa by Ado- Japanese rock song that I love to blast when I’m angry. Ado was only 17 when she made this song as well.

4. Good Luck, Babe! by Chappell Roan- this song is not only super catchy but also reminds me of my younger self trying to deny the fact that I was bi and had feelings for girls. I know radblr has their own feelings about Chappell but this song is def relatable.

Fun story! I've actually contemplated taking this one out of her playlist, because I added this before I knew about all her layers, but looking at the lyrics I decided to keep it after all. If anything she's grown into this song so beautifully. "It took some time to realize / this life is mine, no compromise" -> she compromised some of her happiness for a 'stable' life with a fulltime job even though there were things that excited her more. And while I think she would still pursue teaching now, she does it not because her family wants her to, but because she wants to.

Rahat Sober Up by AJR (feat. Rivers Cuomo)

I knew from the start Rahat was going to have a terrible drug problem, and when his story starts he has no choice but to stay clean. In a way I feel like clean and sober are not the same thing for him though. But yeah the whole sober thing was my reason to add this to his playlist dhjgfgf but I also feel like that vibe of missing old times suits him well. He misses the time before his powers kicked in and he could just be a kid.

Anna Clarity by Zedd & Foxes

This song is so much about devotion and diving headfirst into something and I think that fits Anna a lot! When she crushes she crushes HARD. She's such a hopeless romantic and the idea of love that is also tragic makes her want to turn her skin inside out (positive). Both Anna and this song meant so much to me at the time I created her and I just cannot see them separately honestly!

Sara Apologize by OneRepublic

This one is for Sara's complicated relationship with her parents! Originally I didn't want to make their relationship as strained as it turned out to be lmao. But yeah I've always had this idea that they have hurt her a lot, she's always lacked a feeling of love and warmth, and it's actually thanks to her girlfriend Cecille that she truly learns to accept that her relationship with her parents sucks and that she deserves better. She tried to give them a second chance, but instead of apoligizing and opening their hearts, they said they would 'tolerate' her lesbianism, and she decided that was not enough and cut them off. (Which she thought would be for good, but I had a plotline planned out where her parents would get back in touch with her because her mother's physical situation is getting worse, and she'd actually make amends with her in her last months. It was very bittersweet.)

Katy Caffeine from the RWBY Soundtrack

Well. dfjgfjfg I was right it's one of the first! It's the first even, together with three other songs: Na Na Na (My Chemical Romance), Pride (American Authors) and Are You Gonna Be My Girl (Jet). Katy just has this specific rebellious punk-rock vibe that I slammed into her playlist immediately 😌✌️

Gabriella My Blood by Twenty One Pilots

One of the traits I had in mind for Gabriella is that she's very loyal to her family - at least the ones who stick with her. I believe her and one of her brothers lose touch when she comes out as a lesbian, but before that he's her best friend and they do everything together. They go to flight school together, having a friendly rivalry to see who's the better pilot. I added this song mostly for that relationship.

Tiffany The Judge by Twenty One Pilots

There's six that I added on the same day but it is wild to me that this is one of the first?? fdjgfjh often I listen to this song in her playlist and think 'does this really fit??' but I love it too much to take it out. I'm pretty sure I added it thinking, Tiffany is the Judge, since she's a judgy bitch, but I think it works better when you look at how insecure she really is and that she's constantly seeking validation from others. Especially with the storyline where she loses her arm and loses that faux confidence, she becomes much closer to her insecurities. I had not planned that at all when I first created her, so it's interesting to see how that came and circled back to this song!

I made sure to add some songs that portrait her views of the society (e.g. "THAT BITCH" by Bea Miller and "WONDERLAND" by Neoni). She'd probably love singing these -- my headcanon is that Abby's actually a very skilled singer, so she would nail most songs here -- and performing them with the band.

Btw this lil aesthetic is presumably set sometime during Season 1 (their most fascinating and problematic dynamic <3), where they ruled the school together as the evil bitch queens <3 I do like to think Moon made things like honey-daisy toast and honey-infused tea for Yas during their S1 era, to really like...Commit to the Bit on the whole queen bee metaphor XD Also Moon loved to spoil Yasmine by making her delightful little treats to hopefully relax her and temporarily relieve the pressure of being The Most Terrifying Bitch At West Valley High. Hey, being a complete and utter menace is exhausting, okay??? I feel like Moon was the only one S1 Yasmine ever let down her guard with (except maybe Kyler, since they were close-ish back in the day), and the walls come down when they're alone and Yas doesn't feel this constant urge to assert social dominance. And she just lets Moon pamper her and take care of her and treat her softly in a way that would definitely shatter her "cold, hardened heartless bitch" rep if anyone knew about it. But she can't help but let the armor fall from time to time.

Sometimes, she doesn't want to be Yasmine the Terrifying Queen Bee. She just wants to be Yasmine.

And Moon, on her end, can gloat that "she stings like she means it, she's mean, and she's mine," even if it's only ever to herself. Even if she can't show off Yasmine to the world, and only gets to see a secret soft side behind closed doors. She can take satisfaction in knowing that Yasmine stings for her. That the meanness only ever goes away for her. That Yasmine belongs to her, even if it's in a way Yasmine will never admit.

first: nice nice by dazey and the scouts! she gives me very much so riot grrrl energy, and i think this song reflects her !

second: naked in manhattan by chappell roan! i love this song and i think it would remind her of the early stage of her & dorcas' relationship, especially if you think of that as both of their first lesbian relationships.

third: bourgeoisies by conan gray! i would also say this for sirius but for him i think of it more as a silly thing because he grew up with money (albeit he didn't see much of anything of it in his bank account after running away, but still), but for marls it's more of a sarcastic thing, she doesn't actually gaf about the rich. it's something someone would play at a party and she'd immediately ask the song name imo.
