I really don't care for the "true alpha" thing, and there are plenty of other people's posts about why, but I can't stop thinking about what it does to Scott and his character.
like, seasons one and two he's constantly fighting for NO ONE to be murdered, because he believes that you can't justify it and it's wrong. fair enough. this insistence places him at odds with people he might otherwise get along with, solidifying him as an underdog. even his alliance with Derek is tenuous, as Derek sees murder as necessary to keep people safe and Scott doesn't. but BECAUSE he's an underdog he has to work with the people around him and convince them why they shouldn't kill, he isn't powerful enough to stand on his own.
but in the later seasons.... he doesn't have that??
as the true alpha, his power hinges on him not killing people. while it would be unreasonable to say that his former stance is completely GONE, pessimistic fans (like me, hello hi how's your day) can make the case that he doesn't kill because he would be less powerful if he did, at least in part. it COMPLETELY cuts the teeth off his moral argument, which sucks because the show still has at least twelve more moral arguments left.
hes also completely LOST the underdog angle. he and Derek are finally chill, thankfully, but he's suddenly the most powerful cool guy in the area, the first of his kind in years, with super special powers just for him. about a season before he lost a fight with a guy who had been a werewolf for all of two seconds. and you know how before he had to convince other people to join his side and work with his plan? yeah no now he can just yell at them and they'll do whatever he says, magic rules.
No matter how you feel about season one and two Scott, it's undeniable that he is fighting an uphill battle that just kind of plateaus as of Season Three. and I love season three, but I feel like, if it did happen, it should have been closer to the end of the show
(And for all the talk about the McCall pack being weird and unconventional, they still fall in that same power structure that EVERY PACK EVER falls into. I think it would be more interesting if they didn't and their pack is even MORE of a mess to werewolves. take, for instance, the underlying subplot of seasons 1-3 that Beacon Hills doesn't have an alpha (at least a good one sorry Derek) and is there for ripe for the taking. a big reason that Derek wanted Scott in his pack was that he didn't want to be seen as weak or targeted by hunters, even other werewolves. they don't get along but they HAVE TO or else they straight up DIE. But then in 3A they suddenly have an alpha (at least a good one sorry AGAIN Derek) and that plotline is dropped. they're still being hunted, but that anxiety about being a good enough pack is gone. which is weird, right? wouldn't you want to increase that tension?
imagine if they didn't actually HAVE an alpha. They still consider each other pack, but that's not good enough for anyone but them. especially at the start of season four? no alpha, their former alpha has gone MISSING, they haven't told anyone, they have to go get him but every second any of them is away the more their town is in danger, and oh FUCK our former alpha is a TEENAGER NOW?? AND NOW HES BASICALLY NOT WVEN A WEREWOLF??? not only having to deal with the mercenaries and Kate but also other werewolves trying to nudge into their territory?)

Friendly Or Flirting? - Scott Mccall
Scott x Fem!reader (Crush/ not together yet)
Warnings: none (Insecure feelings?)
Word count: 548
Summary: Scott doesn’t like the Alpha twins hitting on Y/n.
Masterlist
Teen Wolf Masterlist
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Tumblr media
“What’s going on?” Scott asks as he comes to a stop next to Stile and Isaac in the school hallway.
“Nothing.” Stiles shakes his head quickly not believing Scott needed to know, but Isaac ruined Stiles' plan.
“Just watching Y/n get hit on by the twins.” Isaac smirks, but then gets hit upside the head by Stiles.
“Dude.” Stiles looked at him with a glare.
“What?” Scott looks at them with shock and panic.
“Over there.” Isaac nodds his head to where Y/n’s with the alpha twins. “They’ve been flirting with her for the last 15 minutes.”
Scott looks to where Isaac nodded to with wide eyes. “Seriously?”
Stiles nodds. “Yeah.”
“What do you think it’s about?” Scott questions, watching every movement they made towards his friend.
Stiles raises a brow at the true alpha. “What like ulterior motives?”
“They could just think she’s hot.” Isaac shrugged his shoulders, he’d admit Y/n was hot. But he instantly got glares from Scott and Stiles. “Not helping. Got it.”
Later that day after school Y/n and Scott headed back to Scott’s house to study. It had been an hour of pure silence and Y/n couldn’t take it anymore.
“You okay? You’ve been silent since we left school.” Y/n asks, looking concerned at him.
“What did the alpha twins want?” He blurted out what had been on his mind.
“Huh?” Y/n now looked at him confused.
“They were talking to you practically all day. What’d they want?” Scott shrugged his shoulders, not sure how his question wasn’t clear.
“Nothing.” Y/n shrugged back, not getting the big deal.
“They had to want something.” Scott pushed wanting to know but also thinking in the back of his head was this to much? Was he just jealous?
“Is it so hard to believe that they’d just want to talk to me?” Y/n raises her eyebrows in shock at her friend's words.
Scott scoffs. “They were flirting, not talking.”
Y/n nodds. “To flirt you have to talk.”
“So you knew they were flirting.” Scott looked at her with shock and disgust.
Y/n let’s out a short laugh. “Kinda hard to miss but it was really only Aiden.”
“Scott narrows his eyes after hearing the name come out of her mouth. “Ok so you have a preference on a twin.”
“Ethan’s gay!” Y/n yelled looking at Scott with shock and disbelief. “As for the flirting, yeah I enjoyed it. . . It was nice to have that kind of attention.” She bowed her head feeling slightly insecure and embarrassed.
“That kind of attention?” Scott asked, confused on what she meant by that.
“If you haven’t noticed I don’t get flirted with or asked out that often.” Y/n explained keeping her gaze down, playing with a loose thread on her jeans.
“Y/n.” Scott spoke her name sadly, regretting how he came about and was treating her earlier in this conversation.
“Just forget about it. Okay.” She waved him and his impending pity off and got back to studying.
“Y/n.” Scott called her name after a few minutes of silence and thought.
“Hmmm” Y/n hummed in acknowledgment.
“I’d flirt with you anytime.” Scott smiled sheepishly at her.
“Thanks Scott.” Y/n smiled back blushing.

Stiles and Betrayal
I had this stuck in my head, how much different is Derek's and Scott's response to Stiles protecting his father and how he does that.
In 3x10
we have this scene (kind of, I had to make some cut here and there). Initially Scott tells Derek that Jennifer is the one killing people to which she says...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Derek understand that they are right he tries to kill Jennifer but Stiles screams at him to stop and he does stop after 'contemplating' a bit if it's a good choise. And he decides it's what he think it's best for Stiles.
Derek knows how important Noah is for Stiles. He doesn't want Stiles to be completely alone since Derek knows what it's like living without parents.
He believes Stiles (+ Scott also explains the situation to him) and looks at him and he knows, he KNOWS Stiles is willing to do anything for his father, to keep him safe since he's the only family he has left and he doesn't wanna lost him too.
He knows that Stiles is desperate to get his father back and Derek sees it not only through his tears but his voice too, how hurried it sounded when he pleaded to stop compared to how broken it was before, when he asked where his father was.
The way Derek looks at Stiles, the longing eyes, his expression as he decides who he can believe - Jennifer or Stiles - and he chooses Stiles. Above the woman he loved he chose Stiles, 'skynny, defendless Stiles', like it's the easiest thing in the world for Derek to choose Stiles.
While in 5x9
we get this...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And (since i didn't make a gif with it) there's a sentence that's very important that must be added. After Stiles says "he was gonna kill my dad" (in 2nd gif) there's this back and forth between them:
Stiles: Huh? Was I supposed to just let him? Scott: You weren't supposed to do this. None of us are. Stiles: You think I had a choice? Scott: There's always a choice.
After which Stiles add the 'famous'
All of us can't be True Alphas! Some of us have to make mistakes. Some of us have to get our hands a little bloody sometimes. Some of us are human!
And Scott goes with the 3rd gif.
So after this has been said...
Stiles once again tried to protect his dad BUT ALSO HIMSELF and he did in a 'cruel' way, but did Scott really needed to spit in his face like that?
It was self defence and it left Stiles with a huge bite on his shoulder
Scott has presumably known Stiles for a good 4/5 of his life and he is his best friend, his brother. And he doubted him. He let himself being fooled by Theo and he stood too firmly on his morals - and I get it.
Scott doesn't want to kill or do the 'bad thing' but just as Stiles said 'some of us have to make mistakes' and it's not simply a mistake. It's a choise about what's the best option, what are you willing to risk and what are you willing to lose. Nothing is black and white no matter how much one - Scott - tries to stand on his morals.
He didn't want to see the circumstances and what Stiles was feeling, he tried to play the 'good guy' but ended up being the in the wrong, which happens a lot whenever he keeps insisting on the 'or totally black or totally white' with his morals.
Stiles didn't do the 'morally right' thing to do, he did what he needed to do - what he thought he needed to do - to save his father. And i don't think Scott thought about how much Noah means to Stiles.
Stiles only has his dad, just like Scott only has his mom. So, wouldn't Scott to the same to save his mother?
Would Stiles do the same that he did to him?
(I don't think Stiles would've done the same, I think he would have thought it through and compared his father to Melissa, ending up deciding that it was the 'right thing' to do to prevent a life from being taken.)
So:
Somehow we got Derek, who knew Stiles for less than a year probably, trusting Stiles' judgement and seeing the situation through Stiles' POV, and choose a (almost) random guy instead of the woman he was in love with.
While Scott, who calls Stiles his brother, ended up not trusting Stiles and going against him, almost saying to him:
'Choose a random guy's life over your father's'
And I get that Scott has the 'good' morals but sometimes morals aren't everything you can stand by, sometimes you have to put them aside to see how a situation really is. And while for Derek killing is almost not that big of a deal (it's almost the solution to every problem regarding an enemy of some kind) he is still considerate of how it might effect Stiles' life, while Scott almost implies that killing Donovan for SELF DEFENCE was the bad thing to do.
(and I get it, Stiles didn't explain the whole situation, but let me ask you, did Scott asked Stiles about it or did he blindly went with what Theo told him?)
So, Scott betrayed Stiles and thought it was better to give him a lecture about what was 'supposedly the best thing to do' while Derek trusted and sided with Stiles. He didn't betray Stiles when he needed someone to help him or understand him, he chose to listen to Scott and Stiles about Jennifer and he doubted Jennifer even before it was proved that she was the Darach.
But was it really worth it?
For Scott to betray Stiles like that (despite the fact they later got back on good terms) and ultimately ruining what they had, which was already holding on by thin strings by then due to the supernatural stepping in the way and all the situation they had been in where they had to be faced with decisions that were bigger than them - SINCE THEY WERE TEENAGERS.
Was it needed to break one of Stiles' strongest bond over such a thing? counting Scott didn't ask Stiles himself anything but just 'accused' him.
And breaking this bond he had with Scott just made the one he had with Derek a bit stronger (despite the fact these episodes are far from each other) since Scott bring Derek up to try to get to convince Stiles to share is point...
SCOTT: Now you're gonna try to at least give him (Theo)the benefit of the doubt? STILES: I give people benefit of the doubt! I've given a lot of benefit to a lot of people. SCOTT: Like Derek? ...Kira? ...Liam?
Why the first person Scott mentions is Derek, almost comparing him to Theo as to tell Stiles:
"He was the bad guy too, Derek was bad too but now look at how we are, couldn't it be the same for Theo?"
Scott tries to reason with Stiles trying to make him feel guilty for 'staying attached' to the past and seeing Theo as the bad guy he was before, but Stiles is right. Theo was the bad guy that was before.
In the end this all makes me think Derek cared for Stiles more than Scott when it's about Stiles' family. And that somehow Scott doubts his 'brother' when it comes to his judgement on 'good' and 'bad' people because Stiles doesn't give off his trust to everyone he meets.
SCOTT: Why can't you trust anyone? STILES: Because you trust everyone!
Does trusting everyone makes them automatically good without any kind of 'exam' to pass first?
I don't think so, or there would be no need to define people as bad in the first place.
Is it wrong to be skeptical of people you've never met before or people who have been bad to you in the past?
I don't think so since our experince define how we perceive others and how we wanna approach them at first.
In the end:
Scott could've done better in that moment - episode - and chose to listen to Stiles and ask him about it before jumping to conclusions.
Derek understood Stiles and how much worried he was for his father, and chose to help him save him.
(But i'm not saying Scott is a bad character overall, he just has his highs and lows as everyone does and I'm not trying to put Derek higher than Scott since being friends with people - in this case Stiles - isn't a race)

Or, the one where Derek has no chill.

Stiles smells like someone else. A certain alpha doesn't like it.
Daddy's Boy by Snare - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 2,822, sterek)
Stiles has been blushing around him all week, sputtering and cheeks going red. It’s only after a pack meeting when Derek finally sees the soft pink lace peaking out from under his waistband.
you're still you by EvanesDust - (Rating: T, Words: 7,292, sterek)
[excerpt] Stiles takes a deep breath and follows the pull of their bond to the kitchen. He stops short when he sees Derek sitting at the table. His brows are furrowed with worry and his eyes are closed. But that’s not what makes Stiles’s heart skips a beat.
No, it’s the fact that Derek, his thirty-two-year-old husband, looks half his age now. As in literally half his age. There’s no way that the man sitting in front of him is older than sixteen.
“What the fuck?” Stiles blurts out, and Derek’s eyes shoot open, the chair clattering back as he stands as if Stiles surprised him. And that just goes to show that something is seriously wrong because Stiles has only ever been able to do that when Derek’s stressed and lost in thought. “What the hell happened?”
…or the murder husbands fic that’s mostly sweet while bby Derek takes care of his pregnant mate.
Neither Here Nor There by FelOllie - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 7,083, sterek)
"Yeah." Stiles ran a hand through hair he hadn't washed in days, not since he'd come home from his dad's to find the loft littered with shotgun shells, black blood staining the floor and the heavy scent of wolfsbane cloyingly thick in the air, with Derek nowhere to be found. "We'll get him back. But..."
"What?" Scott asked, crossing the floor to stand before Stiles, lifting a comforting hand to his best friend's shoulder.
Stiles met Scott's eyes, his own orbs glittering with terrified tears. "What if he's just ash by then?"
Bright by thedevilyousay  - (Rating: Not Rated, Words: 4,102, sterek)
"The strongest warlock in all the land uses his power to constantly kidnap the princess. Most people believe it’s because he’s in love with her, but they have it all wrong. He’s in love with the knight who always comes to save her."
or
Allison finally lets out all the air that’s been trapped in her lungs to giggle, a noise she quickly tries to cover with her hand. This is all too much though, honestly. Stiles isn’t even dressed, Derek has no idea that the mage only does this to see him, and she suddenly can’t remember if she took the kettle off the fire in Stiles kitchen before walking out here to greet her Knight. She tries to gather herself before she speaks.
Nothing Gory Means No Glory (but baby please don't bore me) by DefNotForWork - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 13,537, sterek)
“I don’t like them touching you,” he rumbled. “I don’t want anyone else touching you.” He leaned forward, and Stiles’ eyes went wide, thinking for one crazy second that the wolf might be leaning in for a kiss. He stood, frozen in place as Derek pressed in close, chest to chest, dragging his nose and then his stubbly cheek against the corner of Stiles’ slack, shocked mouth, down over his jaw and then to his neck. Stiles recognized it as scenting, but damn did it feel like so much more.
Or
Stiles puts himself in the way of a succubus, gets munched on, Derek talks about his feelings, and then they find true love. Not strictly in that order.
At Peace by RisingQueen2 (FallenQueen2) - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 1,801, sterek)
Stiles spies Derek looking adorably soft and can’t help but go to him.
The End is the Beginning by AClosedFicIsNeverRead - (Rating: Mature, Words: 6,496, sterek)
When Chris returned to the living room, rifle in hand, Stiles – God help him – looked so relieved.
“Thank you,” Stiles sighed. He sat up and closed his eyes, trying to hold himself somewhat still as he waited to die.
Chris clenched his jaw. Raised his rifle. Aimed with tearful eyes. And pulled the trigger.
- OR -
The one where Stiles is bitten and left for dead by a rogue Alpha without anyone knowing, becomes increasingly unstable, and asks Chris Argent to put him down. It doesn't go the way he expected it would...
let the tension seep from your bones by To_fill_the_sea - (Rating: Mature, Words: 3,510, sterek)
Derek comes home from tracking a rogue alpha that was encroaching on his territory and threatening his town. When he finally fixes the problem and comes back home he finds Stiles crying in the shower. He then does what he can to soothe and help him.

“Y/N!!! Y/N!! God damn it, it’s set to not let anyone through.”
“Shall I take the car? Fetch Storm.”
“No. She’s worried enough as it and she’s on bed rest, I don’t need her and Jean fighting again.”
Where were you and whose were those voices?
“Can I do anything?”
“I think you’ve done enough Rogers.”
“Hey, come on man. It’s not his fault he didn’t know she was scared of alphas. None of us did.”
“You really think that’s the issue here Wilson? She took down Agatha and plenty before that. You didn’t tell them?”
“When you’ve done with your alpha posturing, I see movement.”
“Y/N.”
You blinked slowly and took in your surroundings. Your body felt tense and stiff, and your head hurt liked you’d whacked it against something hard. You tried to stretch as much as your body would allow.
“Y/N. Come on Y/N. I’m gonna need you to let me in, otherwise Scott’s got to fetch Storm and you know she’s on bed rest.”
Storm. Bed rest. Logan?
“Bubs, put it down or at least let me in you pain in the ass.”
Definitely Logan.
You opened a small slit in the shield allowing him to step through. Scott went to follow but you were quick to close it, resulting in smirks from Sam and Bucky. Steve’s clenched his fists, anger and disappointment running through him as you let in Logan and not him.
You tried to push yourself up and found the room starting to spin. Logan came to your side quickly, kneeling on the floor as you started to right yourself.
“Easy bubs. Looks like your head took a whack.”
“I think I passed out.”
“Yeah, well you remember when Jean and Fiona said to take it easy with your powers for the next few weeks? You just threw a 6ft 6, two hundred and forty pound alpha out the door and put up a shield, which is still up by the way. That’s not taking it easy.”
You looked up at Logan with tear feared eyes.
“He’s mine Logan, that alpha that came in here, it’s Steve Rogers isn’t it? He’s my second chance.” You told him, with a wobbly voice.
“I know, I know.” He replied slipping an arm around you. “Let’s get you up and get that head looked at.”
Logan helped you to your feet and guided you to a stool at the kitchen island. He felt your head and asked you to follow his finger, telling you it was likely you had a slight concussion.
“I’m guessing you have what you need to help the headache you’re about to get.”
“I’ll be fine.” You replied, looking down at the floor. He sat himself down next to you and looked at you with a raised eyebrow.
“You gonna tell me what happened?”
“How did you know? How did you know to come?”
“Storm knew something was wrong. Jean too. Then Rogers called.”
“Is he mad? Is he angry?”
“No, he’s worried. He thought he’d frightened you. That he’d scared you somehow.”
“I’m not scared of him.”
“Well, there’s a definite whiff of fear. You wanna explain that?”
“I’m not scared of him.” You replied quietly, “I’m scared of what’ll happen. He won’t want me Logan, nobody ever does.”
“You know you’re one of the brightest witches I know. Strong. Powerful. And you’ve done the work, learnt the history, all of that. But sometimes bubs you really are as dumb as shit.”
“What?” You asked shocked and a little offended.
“You miss do not trust the fates. They’ve put you two together for a reason.”
“But.”
“But nothing. Don’t be an asshole. Talk to him, and don’t run off, and don’t call Castle or Russo to come get you either.”
You huffed and let out a small growl. You weren’t sure who you were more annoyed at. Rogers for strolling in, Logan for turning up and giving you his unwanted opinion and having you figured out or yourself. Your omega shuffled around in the back of your mind, nervous and unsure but also wanting a glance at the alpha outside.
“Get some rest. Eat something, and by something I mean something that isn’t crap or junk, and maybe take a wander outside, say hello.”
“Logan.”
“Yeah, I know, go home. Do you want Scott to stay with you?”
You snorted with laughter and winced when your head hurt.
“Rest and I’ll check in later, and answer your damn phone when I call. You’ll need regular checks ins with that bump and it’s either answer the phone or let them in.” He told you as he rose from his seat beside you, giving your shoulder a soft squeeze as he left. Logan knew you could easily rid yourself of that concussion and he probably had no need to check on you but he wanted to make really clear he would be regardless. You watched him leave and used your powers to close the door behind him and locked it.
You heard Logan tell your alpha, and whoever was with him, that you were fine but he’d be checking in as you’d knocked your head a little. Logan seemed to play down your whack to the head, explaining you could take care of yourself and you guessed it was so they’d leave you alone.
Steve, however, had no intention of leaving you alone. He wasn’t about to let his second chance slip through his fingers. So he paced back and forth against the edge of your shield, huffing as he went. When you ignored him, he paced some more. Bucky went to check on the pack and update them on what was happening, Sam staying to make sure Steve didn’t do anything stupid. Steve’s pacing continued for the next few hours.
As your alpha paced you rummaged around in your bag and after taking the best remedies for your bumped head, you pulled out a blanket and tried to settle yourself on the Stark’s very expensive looking couch. Used to awful hotel mattresses, your car and Frank’s bed, you struggled to get comfortable. After half and hour of fidgeting on what felt like a marshmallow, you slipped down onto the floor with one of the fancy cushions instead and drifted off to sleep.
You woke a few hours later to a voice and rustling outside.
“She’ll need her things.”
“I know that punk. That’s why I’m saying you should back up and give her some space.”
You pulled yourself up from the floor and made your way over to the kitchen window. The window was half covered by a net that stopped just below your eye level and you peaked over the top, ready to duck away at any moment. Your alpha was still there. He was still pacing and he seemed distressed. Your omega trotted to the front your consciousness and the white wolf in you pushed her back. Don’t start.
Your eyes scanned outside for the owners of the other voices, finding another alpha and a beta. The beta was talking to the alpha and you could tell the three of them were pack brothers. You eyed the beta and your omega pushed again. Don’t.
“Look you want her to feel settled here right? Then she needs her things, if she at least unpacks that’s a good sign. Back up. Sam and I will grab a couple of her bags place them by the shield, so she can get them, and you can stay over there.”
“I want to talk to her.”
“Well she’s not ready to talk to you.”
You watched as Steve huffed and walked down the path, putting himself at the other side of the white picket fence. When you glanced back the beta was side eying you and then began to to turn towards you. You wanted to tuck away, you really did, but as his steel blue grey eyes met yours you realised you couldn’t. He blushed and smiled at you. Did you make him blush? He dipped his head and went towards the back of your car. Your eyes followed him. Wow his shoulders were broad especially for a beta. Even the white wolf in you was intrigued, flicking her tail in interest. Don’t even think about it.
You watched as he looked into your car, telling the alpha not to route through too much. He pulled out the bag that held your clean clothes, another smaller one that held your toiletries and a box from the backseat that had a selection of food including the treats from Violet. You watched as the beta’s nose crinkled as he tried to decide what you needed. Could he smell what was clean and what wasn’t? You couldn’t help but notice how his shoulders flexed and that one of his arms was made of metal. So this must be Barnes, you thought to yourself.
They placed your things next to the shield and took a few steps back, allowing you to fetch them by hand if you wanted to without being crowded. You had no intention though of leaving the cottage. You took a step towards the door, positioning yourself so they couldn’t see you, and unlocked it with your powers and opening it slowly. You lifted the bags through the shield and they floated up the path and through the door. You placed them down in the kitchen close to where you were standing and shut the door.
That was rude your omega bustled in the back of your mind and you felt her sulk and turn her back on you.
Fine. You opened the door using your hand this time and opened it a small amount. Discovering the beta and alpha had turned away, they turned back towards you quickly.
“Thank you.” You said through the gap in the door.
“You’re welcome.” The alpha said first. You guessed from what you knew of the pack that this was Sam Wilson, a former lieutenant. His next words told you that you were right. “I’m Sam, Sam Wilson. This broody beta to my right is Bucky.”
“I know.” You replied glancing between them. When your eyes glanced over at Bucky you found his eyes scanning you and his chest raising as he took deep breaths, your eyes met and you were sure he stopped breathing and that you might have too. Your omega rolled to the front your mind liking a puppy and the white wolf in you flickered her tail, was she smirking? The witch in you snapped forward and pulled your gaze from Bucky and to Sam.
“What coven are your family part of Lieutenant?”
“Damn you’re good.” He replied a smirk on his face. “I feel like you’re asking me but you already know.”
You smirked back.
“Louisiana? The coven in Delacroix?”
“You say it like a question when you know that it’s the answer.”
“Well, I’m not exactly firing on all cylinders right now.”
“Yeah, well I’m guessing that’ll happen taking down someone like Agatha Harkness.”
There was a rumble and your eyes snapped towards Bucky as fought to keep a growl in. You stood up straight and kept your eyes on him.
“Don’t mention that witch around her.” He snapped.
You held up a hand to Bucky to stop him.
“It’s fine. I have no issue with her being mentioned.”
“She nearly killed you.”
“But she didn’t, and she would have struggled to finish me off like I did her.”
You heard a click as the gate opened and turned to see your alpha take a slow unsure step into the garden. Your eyes met and you felt your omega stir some more, you felt sure she’d be asking for belly rubs if you shifted and you felt glad you had control over her at least for now.
“Everything ok?” Steve asked, glancing between you and Bucky.
“For goddess sake punk, I told you to wait over there.”
“I just wanted to check…” Steve was stopped mid sentence by the clicking of the door. The three of them turned to see you’d slipped away.
They didn’t see you again for three days.
Enjoy this fic? Fancy a cuppa? My Ko-Fi.

Ohmygodohmygodohmygod 😭 @raisesomehale tagged me for an excerpt-writing-thing! This is my first time getting tagged for this kind of thing, thanks so much! Excerpt from my WIP, Pseudology, where the boys have to face their inner demons in the forms of dark versions of each other. Enjoy!
"Don't tell me you're honestly surprised you're here." Nega-Derek sneered. "You always talk about how unfair it is to be dragged into all the shit that happens to you, about how you're always the first to be taken or hospitalized or the one to lose the most friends. Oh, boo-hoo. Always the victim, aren't you Stiles? Never stopping to wonder why so many things happen to you when you can never leave anything well enough alone. It's never your fault Scott follows all of your whims, right? That's on him for getting himself left out in the woods. You weren't the one who released the Nogitsune, so why would it be your fault poor Allison and all those people died? Letting the Nogitsune in had nothing to do with what happened, right?"
"Please…" The 'don't' died on his lips as the thing circled around Stiles, those colorless eyes piercing deeply into his own.
The spirit tutted in mock disappointment. "And what about me, Stiles? You've found a way to manipulate me into loving you just like you did Lydia. Now here I am, willing to die for you in your ridiculous ocean of lies and secrets. Are you going to get bored and leave me too? When is that trophy of catching the most sought-after specimen going to lose its charm and have you kicking me out on the street, broken and empty? Do I deserve it too, just like Lydia? She ignored you for years and used you to get at someone who hurt her. Apparently, that's all the reason in the world to get back at her, make her suffer for making you feel this way. She was your claim, your property, to treat however you wanted because her actions displeased you. It made you want to watch her cry. It made you want to insert yourself into her life and to make her yours even if you had to drag her in, kicking and screaming. Am I just another Lydia to you? Am I here because you like me or am I here for you to punish for bullying you? Is that what you want? To see me cry over you? Does it make you feel powerful having so much control over me? Does it flatter your ego to know that the big, bad, strong, former-Alpha Derek Hale, the Derek Hale, is so helpless to your charm that he can't even go a single day without thinking about you? Do you even know what I am to you?"
Stiles had nowhere else to back up. His feet were frozen. The words kept gnawing at his brain, twisting in his chest like a noose around his heart. Covering his ears hadn't helped. The sound of that too-familiar, but too-wrong voice was infesting his ears in a way that rang in his mind rather than his ears, starting inward and echoing out like the words were coming from his very soul. There was nothing he could say. He couldn't fight the words.
Especially since he knew they were all true.
"Ha! You don't even know!" Nega-Derek practically squealed delightedly. "Chatty Cathy Stiles suddenly with nothing to say. Well, isn't that just a rare sight! Finally ran out of bullshit to spew from that poisonous little goblin mouth, I see. That's fine. I have enough to talk about for the both of us," the thing chirped happily.
Sorry, I've never done this before so I'm terrible at tagging, especially since I don't know how many of you are actually writers. Also, am I supposed to just tag mutuals or just anyone? 😰I don't actually have a lot of mutuals, so I guess whoever else out there feels like writing, feel free to say I tagged you (no one's going to double check that shit 🤣). Literally no pressure tags: @cursedtruth, @gynnnicsworld, @grimmypuff, @haleshomeforthederanged, @princecharmingwinks, @raisesomehale

I can’t stop thinking about Sterek and a Stilinski sister who is Derek’s beta and how that might look. So here’s a short and ill-conceived brain worm I just vomited into space.
***
"What happened?" Stiles asked when he came home from work and found her, hours later, curled in a ball on her bed, eyes red-rimmed and puffy, even though he knew perfectly well what had happened because Derek had told him and Scott had told him and Isaac had asked if anyone had told him. He owed it to her to hear her side, even with all those witnesses telling it the same way.
She glared up from under her eyelashes. "You're going to take his side anyway," she said bitterly, and he shrugged.
"Possibly. Tell me anyway."
"He flipped out."
"Why?"
"See, you think it was my fault."
"I'm giving you the chance to tell me what happened. If I don't know your side, I can't make an informed decision."
"Decision about what?"
"About whether I'm pissed off at you or not."
"I'm tired of everyone bossing me around. Treating me like a kid."
"You're the youngest member of the pack."
"I KNOW that, Stiles. Doesn't mean I'm completely incompetent."
"No one thinks that."
"HE does. He won't even let me do totally safe Pack things. That's all I wanted, to go with Scott and Isaac on one little mission."
"He's protective. That's his job as an Alpha. As YOUR Alpha."
"He's not like that with the others."
"The others are older, more experienced, and not my little sister."
"That's not my fault. I didn't ask you guys to hook up!"
"True statement. But here we are. And being the youngest, AND the newest, AND my little sister comes with burdens like overprotective Pack members. Scott wouldn't have let you go either."
"SCOTT wouldn't have flipped out on me, though."
"Derek flipped out on you."
"Yes."
"Details, please."
"I just respectfully asked him if he would give me a chance to prove myself."
"And he said..."
"He said no."
"And you said..."
"I said it wasn't fair."
"Which isn't exactly the most mature argument, but what ELSE did you say?"
Deep sigh. "He pushed me to this point."
"What did you say?"
"You had to be there to get all the finer points."
"What. Did. You. Say?"
Long pause. Brown eyes beseeching. "I said he had no right to cut me out of Pack stuff just because he's fucking my brother."
"You said this to your Alpha."
"Yes."
Stiles slapped his palms down on both knees and stood from the bed. "Well, I've decided."
"Let me guess."
"You deserved every single smack."
"Stiles!"
"I love you, I'm sorry you're feeling bad, I understand why you're upset. But you totally deserved to have your ass handed to you, and if you don't apologize to him before this night is out, I will personally request a repeat performance. Clear?"
"But.."
"Are we clear?"
"Yes, fine, clear. You're as bad as he is."
"And don't you forget it, sister."

Got The Girl - Stilinski Twins
Author: @harringtonstilinski Characters: Thomas Stilinski x Reader, Stiles Stilinski x Reader Word Count: 1,429 Warnings: angst, fluff Smut: no | yes; Requested: Yes! I hope it meets your expectations, anon friend! A/N: Hi, friends! If you like this, please do not hesitate to reblog and give some feedback, whether it be in the reblogs, comments, or my inbox. As always, read at your own risk and enjoy 😊
Tumblr media
Thomas and Stiles Stilinski were your best friends. You, honestly, couldn’t see your life without them. The three of you had met in the 8th grade in a class you all had together, and the rest is history. Granted, it’s been about three years since then, but you still couldn’t see your life without them.
The three of you were now in your Junior year of high school; Stiles was off doing his supernatural thing with Scott and his pack, Thomas was with his crew that had Newt and Minho in it, and you were hanging out with whichever twin had the most time for you… which had been Thomas here lately.
Well, he was there for you for a while until he started hanging out with Teresa and Brenda, both of which you caught him sucking face with. Granted, it was at a party and he was a little drunk at the time, but still. Your heart shattered as you watched. You didn’t want to watch, but it was kinda hard to look away.
You cried on Stiles’ shoulder that night, falling asleep with him in his bed. Thomas had walked into Stiles’ room, thinking it was his in his drunken state, seeing the two of you cuddled on his twins bed. He sobered up at that point, his heart shattering.
You and Thomas had crushes on each other, but never acted on it. Scott McCall, Stiles’ best friend since the age of four, could smell the chemosignals on the two of you, with him being a True Alpha werewolf and all.
He talked to Stiles about it a few times, the latter not really wanting to hear about his twin brother’s crush on his other best friend. Everytime Scott brought it up, Stiles shut it down.
Thomas, on the other hand, talked to Newt and Minho about you all the time. It was like he never shut up about you. They gave him advice on how to subtly ask you on a date and all that, Thomas planning the day he was going to ask you.
He was gearing up to ask you at your locker, but when he got just a few feet away, he watched as you flirted with Gally, the boy who deemed himself Thomas’ enemy.
You were laughing at something ridiculous Gally said when you looked over, seeing Thomas walk away. Instantly, regret hit you like a bus, taking a step to follow after him, but Gally’s hand on you had you stopping in your tracks.
“Hey, where are you going?” Gally looked over to Thomas’ retreating form, smirking as he looked back at you. “Looks like we made him upset.”
You looked at him, disgusted. “Ya’know what, Gally? I’m tired of your games. I’m tired of you flirting with me just to make him upset. I know you know how I feel about him. This ends today.”
“Come on, baby,” Gally said. “You know you want a real man.” “And that real man is Thomas. He doesn’t use me for his own personal gain, unlike you.” With that, you turned and slammed your locker door shut to start your journey of finding Thomas.
~~~
“I can’t believe she’d do that,” Thomas said, sitting at his desk.
“Do what? Laugh at Gally?” Newt asked.
“He probably said something stupid and she couldn’t help but laugh,” Minho added.
“She was laughing,” Thomas breathed, sitting back in his seat.
“Laughing doesn’t always mean she’s flirting, bro,” Stiles said, sitting in front of his twin.
“Yes, it does. Lydia laughs at you all the time.”
“Because he’s stupid,” you smiled, sitting down at your own desk next to Stiles.
“Thanks for that,” Stiles deadpanned.
You turned your head, smiling at your best friend before your eyes shifted to Thomas. Whispering, you said, “Hey, Thomas. Can we talk?”
He looked at you and it was then you finally noticed the sadness in his eyes.
Sighing, you started to say, “I wasn’t flirt–” before your teacher’s voice cut you off, starting the class for the day.
Begrudgingly, you sighed and sat back in your seat, halfway paying attention to whatever the teacher was saying.
You couldn’t help but sneak looks back at Thomas, the twin quickly looking away from you as you did. You pretended to not notice that he was already looking at you, so when the class ended and he quickly got up, you followed his lead.
Following him down the hallway, you kept saying his name. Every time you got closer to him to tap his shoulder or grab it, he would move away faster. When the two of you made it outside, you followed him to Stiles’ Jeep, your hand finally on his shoulder.
When he turned around, he looked pissed and you could understand why. “Look,” you said, voice stern. “I wasn’t flirting with Gally. He said something so ridiculously stupid, the only thing I could do was laugh. Laughing doesn’t always mean that a girl is flirting with someone. I mean, Teresa and Brenda laugh at you all the time, and they’re not flirting!”
“How do you know they’re not flirting?” he asked, crossing his arms.
“Because I actually see them flirting with guys on the lacrosse team,” I countered, replicating his stance.
“What if they’re doing it to make me jealous?”
You snorted a laugh. “Yeah. Okay.” You took a breath, releasing it while asking, “You wanna know how a girl is flirting with you?”
He narrowed his eyes, asking, “I think I have an idea, but how?”
“She’ll put her hand on your arm while laughing, maybe give it a small squeeze,” you started to explain. Deciding to take it a little further, you explained everything that you did when the two of you hung out. “She’ll lay her head on your shoulder while watching a movie, or even lay her head in your lap while watching a movie because she’s tired and falls asleep.
“She might even be thoughtful and remember your favorite snacks for movie night, cuddle into you if you’re watching a scary movie. She might even wear your favorite shirt for shits and giggles every time she’s over because she knows how it makes you feel when you see her wear it.”
As you explained all that, you saw something shift in Thomas’ eyes. “But… you do all those things.”
“Yeah,” you drug out, turning your head to the side a little, but keeping your eyes on Thomas’.
“Why would another girl–”
“You egghead!” Stiles said, slapping his twin on the back of the head. “She’s talking about herself!”
Thomas looked from Stiles back to you, eyes growing a little wider. “You–?” Making the decision to get back at him, you said, “Maybe I’ll have Gally give me a ride home?” “I’ll kill him if he does,” Thomas sneered.
“I knew it!” you exclaimed.
“Knew what?” Scott asked, a knowing smile on his face.
“Thomas likes me.”
Shrugging, Scott said, “I could’ve told you that.”
Looking at him with an unimpressed look, you said, “You’re a fucking Alpha werewolf. I’m sure you could smell it on him.”
Scott leaned forward, saying, “And you, too.”
Your eyes went as wide as saucers, Scott’s smile returning to his face. “You son of a bitch.”
“Wait,” Thomas said. “You like me, too?”
Quickly turning your head to look at Thomas, you said, “So admit it!”
“Oh, yeah,” Teresa said.
“He’s had a crush on you for years,” Brenda added.
“You two knew?!” you blurted.
They looked at each other and nodded. “Yeah.”
“He told us freshman year,” Brenda said.
“He won’t stop talking about you,” Newt added as well.
It seemed like all of your friends were surrounding you now, Minho having joined Newt, Allison, Lydia, Jackson, Issac, Erica, Boyd, Gally, Jeff, and even little Chuck all surrounding you and Thomas, waiting for one of you to make a move.
Thomas groaned, looking at Stiles for some direction. “Tell her,” Stiles said. “Tell her.” Thomas sighed and looked back at me, “Listen, I–”
I didn’t let him tell me what he needed to as I jumped into his arms, pressing my lips to his, feeling him kiss me back without missing a beat. Our lips moved in sync as our friends cheered us on. Laughing, I smiled out of the kiss, Thomas’ arms wrapping around my middle to lift me up off my feet for a moment.
“I guess Greenie got the girl after all,” Gally said.
“Yep,” I smiled, never taking my eyes off of Thomas. “He sure did.”
SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE TEEN WOLF MOVIE:
Ok so first of all, the Nogitsune's "divine move" didn't make any sense, wtf was that? They broke all the rules. You can't be a fox and a wolf
Then, there's the lousy excuse for Stiles and Lydia breaking up. The hell. I don't even ship them, but like NO. What, it was too hard to say that he was on an important FBI mission? Losers
Liam, Mason, Hikari, Jackson? What were yall doing here? What purpose did you serve my dudes? I freaking love Liam, and I was so excited for Hikari, and then they give us this. They barely even talked.
I was so confused during the entire movie, I didn't know whether or not Chris and Melissa were still a thing??
It wasn't explained properly enough that Malia was actually kind of Eli's aunt/cousin/sibling, like it took me a while to figure out he had grown up in her presence
Btw who tf is Eli's mom??? When they started mentioning Harris I was like oh we're probably gonna see Jennifer again right it's all linked, she came right before the Nogitsune it would make sense that she has something to do with his return and maybe she's also Eli's mom, like it was the most logical explanation if we think of the timeline but no, nope, Eli just doesn't have a mom!
Also what was Harris doing here? And the acting of the guy who plays him was weird (sorry to hate but not sorry it was really bad)
Allison coming back to stay just ruined her previous departure
They should have implied Thiam was a thing not give Liam a f*cking girlfriend
The way Allison came back was laughable
Why did they have to make Malia and Parrish a thing they interacted like twice
The random swearing every five minutes just because they could put it there smh
The way they explained Eli's reluctance to transforming being trauma and then Derek doing just the thing that traumatized Eli in order for him to transform and it working???
I'm so sad and disappointed we didn't see more Malia/Derek interactions it would have been f*king hilarious
Last but not least, Derek. Derek dying, after everything that he'd been through. After all the abuse and years of fighting. They pulled an Enzo St. John fr. Derek dying in the same way his entire family died. Burned alive. And the writers being like "Yeah but look it's okay he became a true alpha" IDGAF. HE PROBABLY DIDN'T GAF EITHER. MY DUDE WANTED TO LIVE. HE WANTED TO RAISE HIS KID. AND THEN HE DIES AND ALLISON AND SCOTT JUST KISS LOVINGLY LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED, LIKE ELI ISN'T CRYING ON THE GROUNG TRAUMATIZED AFTER WATCHING HIS FATHER BURN TO DEATH?!?! Also Malia was the one who had the most appropriate reaction like thank you for being the only one to be shocked and crying, queen. Your cousin deserved better
Bait
Derek Hale x Fem!reader
Other Characters: Peter Hale, Stiles, Lydia, Scott, Malia (mentioned), Liam (mentioned)
Warnings: angst, fighting, cuts and scrapes
Summary: When girls are being killed in Beacon Hills, and looks just like her, she gives the idea of using herself as bait.
Word Count: 2,427
Summer in Beacon Hills brought on a heat wave this year, making everything in the supernatural world that much harder. Lydia and I had gone shopping a week or so prior, so the two of us had gotten lucky with some clothes prepared for the heat, but the rest of the pack didn’t think to plan ahead. Most of the boys had traded in their long sleeves and flannels for t-shirts fairly quickly, opting to get out of the werewolf heat along with the heat from the sun.
The pack and I had been close since Scott first turned. I basically grew up with Lydia as my best friend, and Scott and Stiles were always around. When I first met Derek, I was in the woods with the boys when they had lost Scott’s inhaler. Ever since that day, the former alpha and I had been inseparable.
Now, we were halfway through our summer break before senior year and facing the latest big bad that decided to terrorize our little town. Stiles had noticed the pattern far before any of us did, alerting us to the bodies of young girls who had begun turning up in the woods, all having one scary connection. The four bodies that had been found were all going into their senior year here at Beacon Hills High and had H/C hair and E/C eyes, just like me. When Derek heard of the connection, I was no longer allowed to go out into the woods at all or be left alone anywhere. I was to be watched 24/7 until we caught whatever was killing the girls. I was alright with his plan, wanting to make him happy, but I was also scared that I would be the next body in the woods that Sheriff Stilinski would find.
“Hey.” A voice snapped me from my daydream on the couch in Derek’s loft. “You alright?” It was Peter, knelt down in front of me, his eyes full of worry.
I nodded and gave him a soft smile. “I’m ok.” Of his relationships with the rest of the pack, he and I got along the best. Peter could sense the love Derek and I held for each other, basically from day one, and was very protective of that. He never snapped at me, would bring me what I needed if I asked for it, and had volunteered to stay with me when I worked or needed a ride if Derek happened to be busy.
“You’re lying.” Damn the werewolf hearing. “Your heartbeat changes when you lie, it almost literally skips a beat.” He had a soft smirk on his face to show me he meant no offense.
I ran a hand through the ends of my hair as the last of the pack finally showed up for the meeting. “Just worried, I guess.” He stood and held his hands out to pull me to my feet, allowing me to drift over to Derek’s side as the meeting began.
“Any leads?” The true alpha asked, earning shaking heads and shrugs from the rest of the pack.
The werewolves went back and forth for a while, exchanging ideas on how to catch the new creature, trying to figure out what exactly it was, while Lydia and I shared looks between the two of us, almost having a silent conversation.
So, when I spoke up, she wasn’t all that surprised. “We know what it goes after.”
“We do.” Peter nodded, trying to see where I was going with it and wanting to see if he’ll need to calm his nephew down when I made my point.
“What if we set up a trap?”
“And how do we do that?” Derek’s eyes locked on me with his arms crossed over his chest.
I took a moment to square off my shoulders and hide the fear creeping up in my body that nearly everyone in the room could smell. “You need bait, to draw it out.”
“We can’t just send some random girl from the school, that knows nothing of the supernatural, out into the woods and hope they don’t get killed before we find our monster.” Stiles retorted, throwing his hands in the air.
I rolled my eyes and watched as Lydia smacked the back of his head. “She doesn’t mean someone random.”
Her comment made every set of eyes land on my face, my cheeks going red from all the attention. “What? We know that whatever this is, likes girls going into senior year here with H/C hair and E/C eyes.” I waved my hands to my face. “I kinda fit the description if you don’t remember.”
“No.” Derek growled out quickly. “No way in hell are you going to play bait for this monster.”
“Derek’s right.” Peter agreed with his nephew.
I groaned. “I can’t just sit around and wait for another body to drop when I know there’s something I can do! I get it, I’m human and therefore have no chance against this thing, but I’m also not saying I’ll be alone. Scatter yourselves through the woods, keep an eye on me as I walk around. This could be the only chance we get to stop this thing before it kills another girl we’re supposed to graduate with!”
“Not going to happen.” Came from Derek again.
I was about to speak again when Stiles’s phone rang through the loft. He answered quickly and had a quiet conversation with whoever was on the other end. “So, that was my dad.” My movements froze and I could feel Derek stiffen up next to me. “There’s another body, a lot closer to town this time.”
“Who?” Scott asked.
Stiles shrugged. “Caroline Mathews, I think he said. She’s been missing for three days.”
Caroline and I had the same chemistry class back in sophomore year, we were even lab partners for the better half of the year. “I knew her.” I mumbled.
This was the first girl to die with one of us truly knowing her. It had just been newer girls to the school that we all hadn’t met yet, or ones that we never shared classes with throughout the years. “Really?” Lydia came over to my side as I gave her a nod.
“She was my lab partner in chem two years ago. We used to joke around with Miss Mitchel that we were each other since we looked so alike.” Lydia wrapped an arm around my shoulder comfortingly. My eyes flashed up to Derek. “Please, you have to let me do this. I don’t want more families suffering because their daughter was killed. It’s bad enough we’re up to five now. Please.” My eyes were wide, and my heart pounded in my chest, waiting for the next “no” to leave his lips.
He hesitated before dropping his crossed arms and grabbing my hand. “Can we talk a minute?” I nodded, taking his hand tightly and following him out onto the balcony and into the summer heat. “You really want to risk your life on something we can figure out soon?”
“I know you’re scared, ok, I’m scared. But I also don’t want anyone else dying when there’s a chance that I can help stop this. Please. I’ll do everything you say and stay within eyesight. I swear to you.”
A deep sigh left Derek’s mouth and he suddenly pulled me into his chest tightly. “You do exactly as I say, and we do this tonight and tonight only. Anything goes south, you yell for help, even if we’re right there.” I nodded into his chest, hugging him back before we both went back inside to tell the pack of the plan for tonight.
Six hours later, I had added a green jacket to my outfit and had begun walking around the woods. The sun was slowly setting, and the rest of the pack was spread through the woods, Derek and Peter closest to me, flanking both of my sides about 500 feet away. The rest of the pack was spread out, listening for any strange sounds that shouldn’t belong or any odd scents. My heart pounded in my chest as I wondered around the woods, trying to keep track of where I was and where I had come from. I knew Derek wouldn’t let me get lost, but I wanted to make sure that I could run if I needed to.
My phone buzzed in my jacket pocket, my fingers flying to the object and pulling it up. A text from Lydia lit my screen up. Anything yet?
I quickly typed a message back. Nothing.
A message from Derek was next, popping to the top of my screen. Take a deep breath. You’re safe. Only a little longer before we call it a night.
My eyes flickered in the direction I knew Derek was following me, my eyes searching impossibly in the dark for him. I left the message open, not really knowing what to say or how to tell him that I was absolutely terrified being out in the woods, even though it was my idea to start.
Suddenly, there were heavy footsteps coming up from behind me, and moving fast. I quickly locked my phone, trying to slide it back in my pocket. Just as I was about to yell out for Derek and Peter, a body slammed into mine, sending me crashing to the ground and my phone flying away. Fear gripped me like a vice, squeezing my chest tighter and tighter as my brain tried working on what to do. I knew I needed to call out for the two Hale’s in the woods, to get up and run as fast and as far as I could, but nothing was working.
Deep growls filled the woods next, hands gripping onto my arms and pinning me into the dirt. I finally managed to crack my eyes open to get a look at what was huffing loudly, only to come face-to-face with an unfamiliar werewolf. His face was shifted, deep brown hair ruffled around his face and fangs barred at me with glowing blue eyes.
My chest tightened as his claws started digging into my skin. God, where were Derek and Peter? I struggled in the wolf’s hold, trying to pull my hands free, kicking against his weight but it was useless. Then I remembered Derek’s rule; yell, even if I knew he and Peter were close.
Taking the deepest possible breath, I finally managed to get my head together. “Derek!” My voice came out as a shriek, piercing through the air. “Derek, Peter!” I screamed, pulling as hard as I could against the weight. The hand that had been wrapped around my right wrist was suddenly squeezing at my throat, cutting off any other screams.
“No one’s here.” The wolf taunted. “It’s just you and me.” A sick smile crossed his face, enhancing the supernatural features. His claws pressed harder into my wrist and throat, a gasp of pain leaving my lips as he seemed to toy with me. “No one’s coming for you.”
The clawed hand at my throat raised into the air above me, making to slash at my throat, but before he was able to, a body crashed into him. The strange wolf and someone else went tumbling a few feet away from me, allowing me just a moment to sit up and huff in a few breaths of air before hands were wrapping around my shoulders.
“No! No, let me go!” I screamed, smacking at the hands on me.
“Hey, hey.” A familiar voice soothed. “You’re safe. I got you.” Peter turned me in his arms, grabbing at my chin to make me look up at him. “Look at me. You’re ok.”
I took a shaky breath and finally looked up to him. “Peter.” My word fell as a whisper.
The older Hale nodded, pulling me against his chest as new growls filled the air. Peter pulled me a bit farther from the space he had found me in. I turned as we got to the side of a large tree, Derek, Scott, Malia, and Liam were all stood in a line between me and the other wolf. I could hear Scott trying to talk with the wolf, but Peter’s gentle hands on my wrists distracted me.
“Are you alright?” He asked, voice low and very quiet. I nodded shakily, glancing down to the half dozen moon-shaped cuts along my wrists. Peter’s arms were laced with black veins as the pain subsided, his eyes looking at the scratches on my neck.
“Thank you.” I shuddered, no longer liking my own plan, but I was glad that the pack had found the wolf, and not another girl I was to graduate with this year.
A loud roar seemed to shake the ground, and I managed to catch sight of Derek slamming the wolf into the ground. It seemed like he had tried making a run between him and Liam, aiming for me yet again. Peter was in front of me the moment he caught his nephew’s movement, his teeth bared and a growl rumbling his chest.
“Leave.” Derek hissed, his teeth shining in the moonlight. A threat that I couldn’t hear left his lips, the wolf on the ground seeming to come back to himself a little. “You three, make sure he leaves.” Derek pulled the wolf up and shoved him towards the werewolves and werecoyote. After the wolf and our three pack members were far enough into the woods, Derek finally turned to me, his fangs retracting and his eyes softening from their bright blue back into his usual eyes. “Are you alright?” He asked, coming up and instantly wrapping his arms around me.
I nodded carefully into his chest. “I am now.”
He pulled back and gently took my hands into his, turning them over to check the cuts. “He did this? He say anything to you?” His hand then cupped my cheek as he raised my head to look at my neck.
“His claws.” I answered the first question. “And nothing important. He tried scaring me more than anything. Said no one was coming.”
“I should have come faster. He set traps in the woods to draw our attention away.”
My head shook at him. “You saved me. I’m sorry I had this plan. I know you didn’t like it.”
“It’s fine now. But you’re never playing bait again, you hear me?” He started leading me out of the woods, back towards the pack.
“I hear you.”
Hi! Sorry to bother you, but I'm wondering if you could help me? Do you know of any (Sterek) fics where Scott joins Derek's pack? I just really want to see Stiles and Scott interacting w Hale Pack 2.0! Thank you.
Hi anon! @kevaaronday made this list for us.
Tumblr media
Turn back time by A _pretty_good_pair (23/23 | 49,715 | Teen | Sterek) There's no one left. No one. Stiles decides in his grief to try and fix everything he did wrong the first time around. Will he be able to save everyone or will he relive the pain of losing them all once again?
True by inatshej (1/1 | 38,760 | Explicit | Sterek) The point is, anything can be believed to be true now. If magic can convince Stiles that he loves Derek – weird, angry, too-many-issues Derek – then how is he supposed to know what is actually true, and what is him being mind-screwed?
And Derek can go fuck this mates concept.
Spaz and the Sourwolf by TheRealDanniX (9/9 | 24,674 | Teen | Sterek) When Stiles comes across something he shouldn't in the Preserve he ends up on four legs. Not that anyone in the Pack knows it's him. He's just hoping they can figure it out before anything else bad happens.
clenching my jagged jaws (over the capture) by Marishna (1/1 | 21,495 | Teen | Sterek) Derek Hale was never supposed to be alpha, but he's a good one. He doesn't need any help and he definitely doesn't need an emissary.
Stiles Stilinski is Derek Hale's emissary and come hell or high water he's going to see the Hale pack through the impending arrival of the alpha pack, even if it means he can never return to Beacon Hills after.
The Vasov Heir by neil4god (12/12 | 20,665 | Not Rated | Sterek) It was summer vacation. He was supposed to go to bed late and sleep even later, he should not be in a car at the ass crack of dawn (12:30) on his way to who know's where. That was not part of the plan, but then he hadn't planned on introducing the pack to his sort of fiance either or introducing them to his family, but his darkest secrets are being dragged into the light and Stiles may not survive it.
When the Wind Blows (the Grass Must Bend) by V1p3r_Qu33n (9/9 | 17,845 | Teen | Scallison) “Why is it a problem that he doesn’t know I’m here?” Scott was just getting more confused with every sentence she spoke and everytime he asked a question the answer just resulted in even more confusion.
She looked past him to a sleek black car that had just pulled up outside the house across from hers. “I think you’re about to find out.” - - - aka: the packs a dysfunctional family. Scott doesn't have a clue what's going on (though he's starting to figure it out), Derek's just trying to keep his betas in line (though they don't always like his methods), and Isaac's just trying to survive.
Learning Curve by Inell (1/1 | 6,050 | Explicit | Poly Pack) When Scott stops by to check on Stiles after he misses school, he isn't expecting to be introduced to the world of polyamory or to agree to become part of the Hale pack in such an unique way.
Heart Smart by Simplistically_content (1/1 | 3,578 | Teen | Sterek) Scott wasn't book smart like Stiles, he wasn't werewolf smart like Derek (was meant to be), he wasn't genius smart like Lydia, his decision making hadn't really given him the best track record where those kind of smarts mattered. No. Where Scott believed he was smartest, was in his heart, in his good nature. Sometimes he screwed up, but no one's perfect, are they?
A place you call home by TalesoftheEnchantedForest (1/1 | 771 | Gen | Sterek) Derek takes a walk through the newly built Hale house and is suddenly overcome by memories, both older and more recent ones. Then he realizes what was missing all along - his pack. Now with Stiles and his friends by his side, he has a home again.
(This is all flashbacks and feels, my dudes.)
Ice(d) Cream by LizzieLance (1/1 | 500 | Gen) “This is indoor snow, baby. Dodgeballllllll.”
“ Throw it, throw it!”
“Stiles, no!”
“Stiles, yes!”
“Over here!”
Whap!
“Ohhh shit.”
Wait, what?? By hugs4saturn (1/1 | 424 | Gen | Sterek) Scott isn't the Alpha.
Hi, in case you write a/b/o, can you write IronStrange where someone flirts with alpha Stephen and omega Tony steps in to stop them? That would be great!
Okay, I’m guessing you wanted me to write traditional a/b/o here. I, however, am not used to writing traditional. I tried (and failed) so went back to the way I always write my a/b/o’s. Non-traditional and with a high level of normalcy.
“Norns, you look pathetic ogling at that sorcerer,” Loki commented dryly, hands crossed over his chest and legs propped up on the conference table. The Avengers meeting hadn’t yet started, so the few people already present were more or less lounging.
“I’m not ogling at anyone,” Tony replied whilst clearly staring at the sorcerer in question, who sat all the way on the opposite side of the large table, discussing something with Bruce. “It’s called careful scrutiny.”
It was true. Stephen was a new player to the team — and it had taken a lot of persuasion to make that happen even if Stephen had been an ally nonetheless — so obviously, as a co-leader of the Avengers, Tony needed to observe him to learn more about his abilities, battle sense, teamwork skills, the like. There was absolutely no other reason for Tony to observe the Wizard, nope. And it was most definitely not because Tony found the doctor attractive, intelligent, witty, and with the most intoxicating yet calming scent he’d smelled from an alpha in a long while. Stephen smelled like rain and fresh tea leaves, which, how was it possible for an alpha to have such light, soothing tones in their scent?
But anyway, that was not the reason Tony was currently observing Stephen.
There were only practical reasons for observing him, yup.
Loki let out a sound that was somewhere between a snort and a giggle. Tony turned to glare at the Asgardian, who was currently in his alpha form.
“You aren’t fooling anyone but yourself, Stark. But if that is what you choose to believe..” Loki smirked, pulling his legs off the table to stand up, and leaned towards Tony to speak quietly, “All the better for me.”
Tony felt it the moment Loki shifted to his omega, the strong, musky undertone of his scent replaced by a pleasant kind of sweetness. Tony blinked and sat up straight, watching a little cluelessly as Loki sauntered around the table.
The Asgardian arrived by Stephen’s seat and leaned his back on the table, body tilted towards Stephen, eyes tracing the Wizard with interest.
Finally, it clicked what Loki was doing, and Tony stilled.
Stephen blinked up at Loki’s posture, no doubt already having noted the switch in gender. “Hello, Loki,” he said with a hint of uncertainty in his voice.
The responding smile Loki gave was somewhere between mischief and mirth. “I do not plan to sit around in this inane gathering they call a ‘team meeting’. I would rather do something enjoyable, or at the very least, meaningful,” Loki spoke, then gave a light tilt to his head and raised a challenging eyebrow. “Care to join me?”
Stephen held Loki’s gaze for a long moment, a considering look in his face.
No, no.
Tony could not let this happen.
He could especially not lose to Loki, of all people.
“Or,” he spoke out loud before he could stop himself, catching the attentions of not only the magic users, but also Bruce, Natasha, Hope, and Scott. “We could go back to my penthouse after the meeting. Order takeout, watch some movies.”
Lame.
He immediately wanted to kick himself.
But.. it was safest. It was all he could think of in the spur of the moment. They’d already had takeouts at Tony’s penthouse a few times, even if Stephen had never seemed to want to stay for long.
Tony could never quite figure out why.
What did it mean, Tony wondered, that Stephen never stayed till the completion of even a single movie with Tony, but had seemed ready to take Loki up on his suggestion just a moment ago?
“Sounds like a plan,” Stephen’s words pulled Tony out of his head, startling him a bit with how quickly his doubt got defenestrated.
He looked up to find the Wizard gazing at him with warmth in his eyes, lips turned up just a hint. Tony knew that Stephen did not easily give away his feelings, be it through scent or expression. Tony was among the few who were privileged enough to not only receive those warm looks from Stephen, but also know what he smelled like when he was content and happy.
Tony was grateful for being among those people.
He smiled up at Stephen, bright and genuine. “Better pick a movie before the meeting’s over.”
Loki, Tony realized, was staring at him with lips downturned, which seemed less out of annoyance and more out of disappointment, which, what?
Whatever.. the crisis had been averted and Tony had acquired a not-date.
For now, he was content with that.
If Scott could go back in time and not take the bite…would he?
Thank you for this ask! I'm sorry it took me so long to answer it, but I wanted to give it the attention it deserves. I love this question because it involves a bunch of questions and possibilities.
We know, for instance, that when Derek tells Scott there's a potential cure for the bite in season one, Scott's very interested, for pretty understandable reasons: there's a violent Alpha trying to make him murder his friends, a loose cannon of a werewolf stalking him, and his girlfriend's family is hunting him, and will kill him if they find out his secret.
I have to think that Scott wonders what would have happened if Derek hadn't betrayed him and if the cure had worked. Jackson would never have become the kanima, Matt would never have gone on his killing spree. Erica and Boyd would be alive. With no Alpha in town, Gerard would have no reason to stick around. Victoria would never have tried to murder Scott. The Alpha pack would have had no reason to come. The Nemeton never would have been awakened, the nogitsune wouldn't have been freed, Allison wouldn't have been killed, the deadpool would never had been activated, and so on.
Of course, things aren't always simple. Isaac might have remained in an abusive household, the Argent Code would have remained unchanged, the Alpha pack would still have been at large, Jennifer might still have come to town, and most immediately, Peter would have still been targeting Lydia to make his return. The escalation of the situation in Beacon Hills also resulted in meaningful victories; Gerard, Jennifer, Deucalion, various assassins, and the Dread Doctors were all stopped, just to name a few. Without Scott and the pack, Malia might have been killed by her father, or remained a coyote forever. Scott might never have met Kira, or Parrish, or become so close with Liam.
I think Scott would be reluctant to mess with the timeline because he knows the consequences are difficult to anticipate, and usually big. You can see that attitude in things like his and Lydia's exhaustion in 6b, when they're trying to figure out what to do about the anuk-ite (6x11):
LYDIA: We opened a door to another world... and something came out with us. Now we need the Hellhound to stop it. MALIA: So we put it back. We've put things back before… Why are you two looking at each other like there's something you know that I don't know? SCOTT: [sighs] It might not be that simple. LYDIA: We saved Stiles. We brought everyone back, but that's not how it was supposed to happen. There's always a price to pay. SCOTT: We learned that from the Nemeton.
In the same vein, I definitely don't see Scott going back to the night of the pilot and choosing not to sneak out. If Peter hadn't bitten Scott, he would have bitten someone else; he was looking for a minion to help him kill and make himself more powerful. Scott wouldn't want to condemn anyone else to that. Scott is also extraordinarily talented at refusing to break; someone else probably wouldn't have been able to resist Peter's thrall. Things could have been so much worse if Peter had bitten someone else that night.
The last question I think your question gets at, anon, is whether Scott ever becomes comfortable with being a werewolf, since that discomfort would be part of why he'd want to undo the bite in the first place.
This anxiety is misrepresented by hateful or misinformed parts of fandom as Scott not understanding what it is to be a werewolf, or they claim that he's resentful of and dismissive of werewolves as a whole. So before I continue, I just want to stress that that's not what I'm saying, and that's just not true at all. Scott is, for instance, not against Isaac/Erica/Boyd being bit because he hates werewolves. He's worried about them being hurt, either by Derek or by hunters or other werewolves--which they all are. When he bites Liam, he's quick to assure him that's he's "not a monster" (4x04), even as he laments the pain and danger he's brought on Liam's head, and while he worries that he himself is becoming "more of a monster" (4x08).
Scott isn't negative about being a werewolf per se. From the beginning, there are moments of excitement and happiness that Scott experiences from being a werewolf, starting in season 1 and really picking up, I think, in the first episode of season 2, when Scott excitedly races through the woods and leaps over the ravine on his way to see Allison. Yeah, maybe he only has to sneak around because he's a werewolf in the first place, but I'd argue that we see Scott clearly enjoying being a werewolf for its own sake in that moment. Scott even seems cautiously optimistic about his future as he comforts a grieving Allison: "Everything's gonna be okay. We're gonna find Lydia, and it's all gonna be good. Just think about it: no Peter, no psycho werewolf killings... Your dad and me... Well, that's a work in progress" (2x01).
But, of course, the fragile peace doesn't last. Over and over, we see every aspect of Scott's life—his loved ones, his family, his future—threatened or damaged or destroyed because of the fact that he's a werewolf. Scott himself is stabbed, shot, poisoned, electrocuted and otherwise tortured, when he's not hurting himself. Scott is also hyper aware of his increased capacity to hurt people as a werewolf; it's literally his worst nightmare (4x08).
Unsurprisingly, Scott becomes suicidal. The show handles it most directly in 3x05 and 3x06, but it isn't really resolved, and by the time Scott is murdered, Posey has said Scott was "ready to die." After he's resurrected, Scott's self-esteem doesn't seem to have improved much: he throws himself into constant danger, and is ready to square off with even the Beast of Gévaudan, even knowing how hopeless it is. After his friends show up to help him, Braeden asks if he seriously thought he had a chance against the Beast.
"No," Scott replies glibly (5x18).
By 6a, it's treated as almost a background element. When Scott squares off with Douglas alone in the woods, Douglas sneers, "I don't know whether it's stupidity or suicide."
In response, Scott shrugs. "Maybe both" (6x10).
I confess this lack of resolution has always frustrated me. I appreciate that the finale emphasized Scott's thriving friendships and relationships, and there's been some excellent meta done about Scott and self-harm in the finale, but it also felt like a bit of a bleak choice to have the finale show Scott engaging in dramatic self-harm, and leave him embroiled in a seemingly endless war.
Which is why I really appreciated that the movie showed a Scott who seems to have found a balance between pursuing his dreams and helping those in need, in a way that makes the most of the fact that he's a werewolf. Most significantly, for the purpose of this ask, I loved that when the nogitsune mockingly asks, "Tell me, Scott McCall, what is the sound of a wolf who is ready to die?"
Scott can finally answer, "I'd tell you, but I'm not ready to die."
Day 4
Seires Fic Rec part 14
Queer Your Coffee by alisvolatpropiis - (Queer Your Coffee) - (Rating: Not Rated, Words: 3,084, sterek)
Derek's just over the city line when he sees a sign for an independent drive-thru place, Full Spectrum Brew. There are three cars in line when he turns in, which annoys him but gives him hope. Not that he really trusts the people of Beacon Hills to have much taste when it comes to coffee (god, he is a snob), but the shop’s popularity does seem to bode well. The line of cars moves way more slowly than he’d like, each customer in front of him seeming to take way too long to order, and then lingering when they get their coffee. He’s irritable from lack of sleep and an even more detrimental lack of caffeine, anxious to get out of the car. Finally it’s his turn and he slowly rolls up to the window, turning the radio down.
For a second, he thinks he must have fallen asleep while he was waiting, because what he sees when he looks in the window surely must be a dream.
Stunning brown eyes like glowing honey and sweet little nose, slightly upturned; a shapely pink mouth, bottom-lip pierced by a thin black hoop that he's worrying with the tip of his tongue as he smiles a gorgeous hello.
He's the most beautiful man Derek's ever seen.
And he’s shirtless.
It's a Beautiful Night by khasael - (Hale and Hearty) - (Rating: T, Words: 2,887, sterek)
Just because they're all almost used to fighting against the Creature of the Week and assorted other Bad Guys, doesn't mean it doesn't get Stiles's heart rate going.
Dream a Little Dream by Yoiko - (A Little Dream of Me ) - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 1,101, sterek)
“There’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. And since this is my dream you’re going to let me do it.”
All things share the same breath - the beast, the tree, the man. by devilscut - (There are nights when the wolves are silent and the moon howls.) - (Rating: Mature, Words: 11,687, sterek)
A shell-shocked Stiles regroups with the pack to find his father who has been kidnapped by the Darach. Their search leads them to the Nematon, where their confrontation with the Darach reveals her plans and that there is more to being a True Alpha than they know. Derek and his family's legacy is at the heart of her schemes and when the Darach has him under her control Stiles begins to realise the extent of how much he really cares for the sourwolf. In true Scooby-doo fashion, the villain has told them of her plans but more shockingly to Stiles she also reveals a very important aspect of his and Derek's relationship.
The virtue of patience by nofeartina - (Patience) - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 11,827, sterek)
Stiles isn't afraid of admitting his feelings to Derek, but that doesn't mean that Derek wants to hear it.
Or the one where Stiles knows that all good things come to those who wait.
I Feel Like You Can't Feel the Way I Feel by i_might_be_in_over_my_head - ( Einherjar MC ) - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 14,087, sterek)
“Fuckin A, dude! The last time you gave me that look I ended up in the woods in the middle of the night, lost my inhaler, and almost died. Please tell me why you’re always trying to get me killed?” Scott shook his head resigned. He knew Stiles was going in and nothing he could say would change that. “If we wake up dead tomorrow just remember this was your idea.”
Stiles threw his fist in the air enthusiastically, almost punching Scott in the face, and turned to the door. He knew if he didn’t go quick Scott would probably change his mind and he’d have to start all over. “Dude that was sophomore year of high school, let it go! Plus dead body! We had to go. We’ll just have a drink and check it out. It’ll be fun!”
fingertips have memories by thatworldinverted - (let's talk about sex ) - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 1,800, sterek)
Pochemuchka (Russian), noun: a person who asks a lot of questions.
"I saw the way you watched me, when I was home last month. How long have you been dreaming about getting me on my knees?"
seems to me it's chemistry by HalfFizzbin - (covalent bonds) - (Rating: T, Words: 4,153, sterek)
Awkward Nerd Derek has been crushing on Handsome Jock Stiles since forever—so getting paired with him on a Chemistry project is definitely the best/worst thing that's ever happened to him.
These next two fics go hand in hand. 😇
The One with All the Kids by Itsreallyjustforresearch83 - (Rating: G, Words: 6,527, sterek)
Derek didn't know what he did to deserve to have this again. A house full of people, of family. He's going to be forever grateful to that rouge witch for what she did for him and Stiles, because after all the hurt they went through together, many years later, they're standing in the Pack house, in their house, surrounded by their family.
A New Hale by Itsreallyjustforresearch83 - (Rating: G, Words: 4,543, sterek)
A Second Chance Is A Better Chance - Part 15
Marvel AU
Pairing: Alpha Steve Rogers x Omega Witch Reader, eventual ? x Omega Witch Reader and Alpha Steve Rogers X Omega Witch Reader
Theme: A/B/O / True Mates
Tumblr media
Summary: Rejected by your true mate at 21, you’ve given up on the Fates and the Moon Goddesses giving you a second chance. Being a Roamer for the last 9 years, you’re an Omega hardened by the world. You’re safe on your own because of your witchcraft, but it doesn’t stop Alphas and plenty of others sniffing around, especially when you’re an unmated Omega witch, who’s wolf also happens to be white, the rarest kind. You don’t need anyone, but why do you keep coming back to Brookville and why do you keep walking into trouble and helping people that you don’t know but for some strange reason feel like family. And where is that smell of apple pie coming from?
Series Warnings: A/B/O, eventual smut, violence in parts, witchcraft, shapeshifters
Chapter Summary: The reader prepares to leave Frank and Billy.
Chapter Warning: Sad everyone.
It takes two weeks and a whole lot of healing for you to be ready to leave for Brookville. There’s an underlying tension between you, Frank and Billy. They’ve resigned themselves to the fact that you’ve probably heard their conversation as your hugs get shorter and you suggest moving out of Frank’s bed and into the guest room.
You’ve also started to sort through your things that have been left there, making sure they fit in your car and giving them away if they don’t. When Billy tells you it’s fine to keep your stuff there, you tell him it’s not fair to anyone to have stuff scattered everywhere, reminding him you’re a roamer and everything should fit in your car. He huffs and helps you after Frank gives him a knowing look.
As the full moon rolls around and after a conversation with Logan you know it’s time to head to Brookville. Storm is nesting heavily and ordering people around to clean the whole house from top to bottom. She’s also been very vocal about your avoidance when asked about an arrival date.
“Maybe don’t leave today though kid. It’s a full moon and the pack will be tense enough without you up and leaving.” Logan tells you on the phone.
“They’ve asked me to run out with them.”
“And?”
“I need your advice.”
“My advice? Hang on, let me sit down for this.”
“Haha.” You replied dryly.
“Well, to be fair you’ve never asked me for advice before.”
“You know what, it doesn’t matter.”
“No, go on, I’m being an asshole. What’s up kid?”
“Would it be wrong? Would it be rude if I say no again?”
“You’ve never ran with them before right?”
“No, they’ve asked and I’ve always declined, just doesn’t feel right.”
“How so?”
“It’s weird. I’ve changed forms in the house but it doesn’t feel right to run out with them.”
“Go on.”
“It’s weird.”
“You said that already.”
“It feels like….” You let out a sigh. “It feels like it doesn’t fit. Like a shoe that’s the wrong size.”
“Then there’s your answer.”
“What do you mean?”
“If it doesn’t feel right there’s a reason for it. You’ve changed and ran in Brookville right?”
“Yeah.”
“And before that?”
“A couple of times in hotel rooms when I’d left it too long but not outside and then, well, back home.”
“I think you’ve answered your own question kid.”
“I’m not sure I have.”
“You have, just think about it.”
“Hmmmmm.”
“So, you’ll set off in the morning.”
“Yeah.”
“Let me know when you’re near and I’ll have Scott meet you there.”
“Logan.” You huffed. “I’ll be fine.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah, Stark’s security guy already explained how to get in and the security system. I just want to get in and get settled. I’m used to staying at the Coulson’s, I need to figure out the place. Scott will just get under my feet and piss me off.”
“Yeah he has that effect on people. I checked with the Coulson’s, their place is still off limits.”
You make a joke about being inconvenienced by their daughter going into labour there and assure Logan you’ll set off tomorrow.
You finish off packing the last of your things and putting together the gift box you’d started for Frank and his pack. You always left them a couple of things, oils, candles, healing potions and anything else you felt they might need, but this time felt very final and you made sure to get a bigger box and fill it well.
It’s late when you hear the howling of their return. You’ve been soaking in the bath tub for the last hour, taking a minute to ready yourself for the journey tomorrow. There’s soon sniffing by the door. Billy in wolf form.
“Hey pervert, I’m in the tub.”
He huffs and you hear him flop by the door. You can hear his tail flicking against it impatiently and decided to get out the tub before he tries to get in. When you open the door wrapped in a towel, he’s already rolling on to his back for you to rub his belly.
“Really Bill?” Frank says, wandering in, black sweatpants low on his hips. “I said fetch her, not ask for belly rubs, you damn idiot.”
You laugh as you reply.
“What’s up Frankie?” You ask as he approaches you. He wrapped his arms around you and planted a kiss on your head.
“Throw some clothes on and come outside.”
“Why?”
“Please just put something on and come outside.” He says leaving the room, calling for Billy to leave you to get dressed. He follows but the direction of his ears tells you he’s annoyed at not catching a glimpse of you naked.
You pull on a pair of boxers and an oversized T-shirt before strolling through the house to the deck, where you quick discover the pack and a select few of the extended pack members, along with Violet and her husband. They are chairs and tables set up and fairy lights wrapped around parts of the decking, candles are lit and there’s a pile of pizzas from your favourite place.
“What’s going on?”
“Aunty Witch, Aunty Witch. It’s a party for you.” Called Dani as she attempted to climb up your leg.
“What?” You said looking around at the group as you picked her up.
“Well, Frank said you’re probably leaving tomorrow.” Luke said. “And we’ve never got chance for us or the town to say thank you.”
“What for?”
“Really rarity? I don’t know maybe saving our town from Agatha, being part of finally taking down Hydra and everything you’ve done for us.” Elektra added, her voice starting firm but growing soft towards the end.
“We wanted to do a bit more than pizza but a little birdy told us if we did you’d probably turn us into frogs.” Matt added.
You looked towards Frank.
“Hey it wasn’t me baby.” He said pointing towards Violet, who shrugged nonchalantly.
“You didn’t have to do this.” You said quietly.
“Sure we did. Now, can we eat because I really need to get these feral kids to bed.” Added Jessica.
“Hey I’m not feral! Am I Aunty Witch?”
“No of course not.” You smiled.
The night passed as drinks were passed around, pizza well eaten and stories shared. Frank’s arm finds your shoulder and you don’t pull away this time. The same as when Billy’s hand finds you knee and begins rubbing circles on it with his thumb. Hours have passed when Luke lifts a sleeping Dani from your lap. Telling you to call if you need anything, just like he always does. Jess hugs you and looks like she’s about to say something deep but kisses your temple instead, a lump in her throat as she tells you to text her. Elektra slaps your ass as you clear away the pizza, never one for goodbyes. Matt hugs you briefly and is firm when he tells you to call him if any of the agencies start bothering you. Foggy hugs you tightly like you’re going to war and leaves without saying anymore. Violet hugs you too as Frank shakes hands with her husband, thanking them for coming.
Then it’s just the three of you.
“Bed?” You ask and they both smile and follow you inside.
Full of beer and pizza it doesn’t take long for you to drift off but even a sleepy you feels Frank and Billy hold you a little tighter that night.
The next morning you wake up to an empty bed. You think about slipping away but a quick sniff lets you know Frank and Billy aren’t far and someone’s making pancakes. You get dressed and freshen up, heading out to the kitchen to find them both shirtless and making breakfast.
How you had managed to not climb these two like a tree was a damn miracle. Billy shot you a wink and you worried for a second you might have said that out loud.
“Sit down princess. Can’t have you leaving on an empty stomach.” Billy smiles, nodding towards the table. You don’t miss that the smile doesn’t reach his eyes. Frank squeezes his shoulder before bringing you a tea, quickly placing it on the coaster and dropping a kiss to your head before returning to Billy’s side.
“Violet sent over some danishes and a fruit salad for you to take with you, with a message to eat the fruit first.” Frank told you.
You smiled and said a quiet thank you, pulling out your phone to send her a message.
“Here you go princess.” Billy said, placing a plate down in front of you. It had at least six pancakes stacked up, bacon, egg and was covered in syrup.
“Bill I can’t eat all this. I’m still full from all that pizza.”
Your stomach rumbling confirmed your little white lie.
“Baby, I don’t know how many times I have to tell you. Being hungry on a full moon is normal. Don’t listen to anything that mother of yours told you. Eat up. I can’t have you leaving here hungry.” Frank tells you.
You rolled your eyes playfully and started to eat as the three of you made idle conversation. Once you’d all finished there was a long moment of silence. The three of you knowing it was time for you to leave but this time it feeling so very final. Frank sighed and then broke the silence.
“Baby, I want to be really clear on something OK, if you ever need anything, anything at all, you get in trouble or you need a place to stay, you come here or you call us. Doesn’t matter if it’s tomorrow, next week or a year from now, we’ve got you Omega, OK?”
You nodded tearfully.
“What if you find someone though? What if your second chance rolls in? What’s she gonna think of me strolling in and out?”
Frank reached out and squeezed your hand.
“Baby, if ain’t you, if you’re not the second chance, it’s never coming.”
You nodded and let out a shuddered breath. Unable to hold in your emotions anymore and with the lights starting to flicker you let the tears pour down your cheeks. Frank stood and pulled you into his arms.
“I’m sorry Frankie, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry it’s not me.”
“Me too kid. Me too.”
A chest against your back and sniffling in your hair let you know Billy had joined you both. You stayed like that until the tears slowed and the buzzing of your phone pulled you apart. You glanced at it.
“It’s Logan, wants to know if I’ve set off yet. Storms getting angsty.”
“Well you better not keep the pregnant lady waiting.” You laughed lightly as you wiped away your tears, pulling away to get the last of your things that hadn’t made their way to your car.
It didn’t take long and shortly after you were in your car and pulling away from Frank and Billy’s and their pack. You told yourself you were fine, even as tears rolled down your face and you started to play your sad songs playlist.
It took you a few hours to reach Brookville and the compound that housed Stark’s cottage. The gate looked heavy and reinforced and was surrounded by cameras, but opened as you neared it. You’d have been concerned if you’d not been asked for your number plate before. You drove down the gravel path and looked around at the heavy woodland. It wasn’t what you expect from Stark and was so different from that enormous and ugly skyscraper in the city.
When you pull up outside your new place to stay you’re quick to mutter ‘cottage my ass’ and decided you’d text Stark’s security guy, Happy someone, some quip about it not being a quaint cottage like he’d described. Sure it was nice, but it was also bloody huge. Again, cottage my ass. There’s a pretty little white picket fence around the garden and you wonder why there’s a need for it if Stark is part of the pack or an extended part at least and this is all pack land.
You decided to head inside first to familiarise yourself with the place before unloading your car. You take the side door and input the code Happy has given you. A projection of the him suddenly appears and he greets you as the door unlocks and tells you the keys, security tablet and a welcome basket are inside on the kitchen island. You thank him and go in, leaving the door open ready to bring in your things.
Your eyes go wide when you enter and you’re wondering if they really meant to loan you Stark’s actual cottage. Happy had told you it wasn’t quite finished and you’d expected a building site. How was this not finished?
You scanned around the lower levels. Mostly open plan and decorated in light colours. Homely but also very sleek and fancy. The kitchen was brand new and full of every Stark device you could think of. Before you had chance to peek upstairs an electronic sounding voice sounded.
“Welcome Miss Y/L/N, please register.”
You remembered then that Happy had told you over email to go straight to the tablet on the kitchen island to register yourself on the security system and that it you weren’t quick enough an alarm would sound.
Shit. You really didn’t want to piss off the pack by setting off alarms when you’d just got here. You found the tablet quickly and filled in your information, thankful that your basic info had already been part filled in. It finished by taking a photo of you, which you weren’t overly comfortable with but decided you’d get over it once you’d drank the wine in the fancy welcome basket.
“Thank you Miss Y/L/N, your registration is complete.”
You looked through the welcome basket to see what treats you’d been left, macrons, some fancy snacks, fresh bread and……….apple pie? You could definitely smell apple pie and it smelt delicious. Like all American homemade apple pie. Even nicer than the one in Violet’s diner. Not that you’d dare tell her that though. You rummaged through the basket as your mouth started to water but couldn’t find it. A chiming sound coming from somewhere sent you to the oven. But there was no pie there either? The smell got stronger and then your wolf picked up the sound of footsteps. Had Logan sent Scott with pie? The chime went off again.
“Why are you chiming? Where are you chiming? What are you chiming for?” You said putting your hands on your hips. There was a sudden surge in the scent as the footsteps neared and then a voice. But not Scott’s, a voice you didn’t know.
“It’s to let you know someone’s coming up the path.”
You swung round to find a figure in the door way. Definitely not Scott Summers and definitely not a beta.
At least 6ft 6, with quite possible the broadest shoulders you had ever seen. Blond hair pushed back from his face, and a beard a little darker than the hair on his head. Your eyes met his and you found bright blue eyes staring back at you.
Alpha.
Your alpha. Your second chance.
