Oda is a coward for not fucking up Sabo's eye more. Sabo shouldn't even have an eye. He should have a very fucked up scar on that side of his face and no eye at all. In fact, he only wears a glass eye because they asked him to do so but it's actually uncomfortable for him and he only has fun with it bc that way he can change eye colors. But that's it.

When he's with the crew he removes it and says "Hey, Luf, wanna see inside my socket-"

Sanji: I wanted him to mainly be in the legs, while the shoulders and arms were closer together. Compact up top, Watermelon Crushers on the bottom. i vaguely designed him with the Marathon runner from the reference image in mind. I differ from the reference in that i give him upper body muscles cuz he loves his break dancing moves and you need hella muscles for that.

Zoro: Big tits & Tank Body. Cant knock this cat over.

Sabo: This man in my eyes is a Barbie Doll. Long Legs Tiny Torso. Winx Club Sailor Moon lookin mf. In part inspired by this panel of him:

Nami: My headcanon for Nami is that when we first meet her she is very skinny and malnourished, then overtime living with the strawhats she gains weight and progressively gets chubby. I just think that Sanji always cooking her such nutritious meals and tasty sweets, and not needing to fight for herself all the time, would lead to her lovely new body type. Something, something, 'to be loved is to be changed'.

Plus, her new fighting styles isnt like "im wacking you with this stick" anymore, its more "I'm moving this stick in this direction and striking you with the lighting coming from it". That still needs muscles though so i gave her some good muscles up top :3

Ace: He's the dorito man of the universe. Broad shoulders, itty bitty waist. I modeled him after the basketball player in the reference image Alton Huston. i think that he would focus his athleticism in Jumping and Throwing (literally) punches, so it leads me to think he would build the same muscles a basketball player would.

I just like the idea of a perfect body that has been twisted by its scars.

Luffy: Brick Shithouse. Healthy mix between muscle and fat. i just wanted to make him look Really Healthy.

Some notes for this time around!! I played around a lot more this time with poses and zooming in and out and I'm honestly super proud of how it turned out :DDD Coloring took a long while so it might not be feasible to continue doing this amount of rendering for every comic I do,,, but we'll see, I'll continue to experiment with it I guess

I tried my best this time around to use the color blue sparingly to show Tage's shift in personality from generally warm and amicable to just cold and ruthless when fighting. You can see that blue thaw out a little with the victory pose he does and when Ace checks if he's injured. Also the colors for Ace's little reminiscing panel are borrowed from the 1015 luffy/roger dream segment because I always think of it when I think about the three of them as kids...... the colors of the sunrise,,,

I also for some reason had Such A Clear Image of how I wanted the beat up marines to look. One of those very nice moments when what you envision lines up well with what you end up drawing haha

I think I forgot to draw sabo's ponytail more often than I forgot to draw his neck scars this time,,,

Hi! Do you still do requests? If yes, then could you please make Ace, Sabo and Luffy comparing heights, Ace's happy at being in middle as Sabo's 187, Ace's 185, while Luffy's 174cms tall. Then Ace teases Luffy abt still being the shortest (You can leave the teasing part out if you want to.) Then Luffy uses gear 5 to be a giant, to be taller than both of them. Its said Luffy's giant gear 5 form is 183 feet tall as of scaling in One Piece or 20-25 meters tall if we wanna go with more of realism.

OP Men as Dads Part 3

Note: Part 3, Part 3!! I was asked by someone on AO3 to add Luffy, so I did that! I still view Luffy more as a brother or son, so I still don't expect to write anything romantic for him, but this I can do! I hope you all enjoy!

Franky probably didn’t even think he’d ever get the chance to have kids, not after the train accident you know, but he’s excited for it! You’d have two boys around three to four years apart that are just like Franky in every way, but the older would be a bit more shy than the younger. They’ll both spend a lot of time with Franky in his workshop when they get old enough, they’ve got a knack for shipwright work and it almost brings a tear to Franky’s eye to see them sketching their own ship designs on whatever scraps of paper they can find. Your boys love you too of course! The two will bring their drawings to show you and ask your opinion, you have to tell them everything on your mind or they won’t go back to drawing, mama’s thoughts matter! It becomes family time to go over the sketches your boys made during the day, they want to do you and Franky proud in everything, but nothing they do could ever make you love them less.

Katakuri has planned to have kids for a while, even though he’s already 48, he still wants to have a few and be a father to them. He’ll raise them differently from how he was raised, but still love them dearly and want only the best for them! You’ll both be surprised when you only have one first, a little girl who has Katakuri wrapped around her finger as soon as she’s born and handed to him. She’s so tiny, he’d be content to have just her if she’s all you were blessed with. Fast forward five years and there’s a set of wailing triplets that you also didn’t expect to have, but the three boys are more than you ever could’ve asked for and their big sister loves them just as quickly. She begs to see them as soon as their born, Katakuri brings her by that day to see you and them, and she has to gold all three in a row immediately. After that, a set of twin girls comes along a few years later, your oldest isn’t the only girl anymore and she’s still just as happy to have new siblings at around ten-years-old, your five-year-old set of triplets also excited. Katakuri loves and thanks you so much for the family you’ve made with him, even if you tell him your twin girls are it, you’re done. He's happy with what you have, grateful for your love and children.

Killer is absolutely a great dad, you couldn’t have asked for anyone better to be your partner and father to your children. You have a boy first off, with your eyes and blond hair, he wants to be just like his dad when he grows up! A couple years later comes a little girl, she’s a surprise but a pleasant one at that. You didn’t really expect her to have Killer wrapped around her finger in a heartbeat but the second he saw her it was over, he became wholly devoted to your little girl and making sure she was happy as could be. You’ve come back to your family multiple times seeing Killer either having a tea party with your daughter or playing some make believe game with both your children, he normally plays the damsel in distress for their enjoyment. Your kids can see people act oddly around Killer when they recognize him, but neither of them care to know why, they’re still quite young, and they only care that they’re dad loves and takes care of them alongside you. All that matters to them is that Killer is around to play with them and eventually start teaching them to protect themselves.

Luffy would be the fun dad, no doubt in my mind! Like how Ace would have three daughters, I can see Luffy having three sons! Probably twins at first, then another son a couple years later, the three having the same dynamic that he had with Sabo and Ace when they were kids! They’d all look like Luffy, except your middle child would have your eyes, a small piece that shows yes, you’re the mother to these three rugrats. All three dream of being pirates, its their favorite game to plan, especially so since their dad is King of the Pirates. After all, who better to tell you how the pirate life works than him?? With all of the Straw Hats around, your sons would be protect from the moment they hear you’re pregnant, everyone being the best aunts and uncles around as soon as they’re born. Luffy would be the most protective of course, but he’d still give your sons the freedom to do what they want and to grow and learn how the world works. Being a pirate is about freedom, isn’t it? Your sons will never have to wonder if they’re loved or wanted, everything you and Luffy do is for them.

I honestly see Mihawk with one child, a daughter. She’d be an unexpected blessing that has him around her tiny finger the moment she takes her first breath. He’d never let her, or you of course, out of his sight, unless he absolutely had to go to a Warlord meeting or something like that. When Zoro and Perona show up, they’re both flabbergasted that the Dracule Mihawk has a child, and that she’s a cute baby girl, only a few months old! Perona will try to dress her up in frilly dresses but your daughter will cry, which ends with Mihawk taking her back and demanding Perona stop using his daughter like a dress up doll. The funny thing is, your daughter will be absolutely enthralled with Zoro, she’ll fuss until he holds her, sometimes he’s the only one who can get her down for a nap or to sleep at night. The number of times Mihawk has caught Zoro training with your daughter strapped to his back or the two napping together warms his heart, maybe having the two freeloaders around isn’t so bad.

Sabo never thought too much about having kids. It was a nice idea, but he didn’t have any strong opinions about it. Then of course, you showed up and he started to have dreamy ideas of his own family and children with you as the mother. Your first is a little girl, blonde as her dad and just as rambunctious. She’ll chase down everyone that she can’t to play with her and grab their attention for whatever story she’s made up, Sabo especially listens intently to her, giving her a smile, asking questions, and responding to everything she says positively. After your daughter comes two boys, one after the other just a couple years apart, and both times Sabo can’t believe he’s so lucky to have you and your children. Your sons look more like you, though your youngest has Sabo’s hair just like your daughter. He’s more shy than either of his siblings, but with Sabo he’s more open and talkative. Your first son may be the middle child, but he’s also the one who becomes more interested in the Revolutionary Army’s work. Although Sabo knows that all of them may become interested one day, wanting to join, he hopes that their work can be completed first and your children will be able to love safe, comfortable lives as they grow up.

Ever since Sabo received the legacy of his brother’s Devil Fruit, you had adapted the the extra heat his body now gave off. Coupled with how he always slept with holding you close, you were more than used to waking feeling warm. This morning however was different. Normally you would eagerly seek the soothing warmth and curl in closer but this time you inched away from the almost suffocating heat of the room in the hopes it would ease and bring you some relief. When it still made no difference you pulled yourself closer to the edge of the bed with heavy limbs. Even sitting up was a greater struggle than normal, with slow steps you managed to get to the window and threw it open, letting out a shaky breath of relief when the cool air inched over your skin. 

It helped the heat but it wasn’t fully enough. You let out a groan as you felt the pain in your head sharpening the more your body woke. Gently you lay your forehead against the pane of glass and closed your eyes tightly trying to will the pain away. At the sound of your discomfort, Sabo’s fingers twitched against the sheets. Confused that it wasn’t your body against his touch his searched the space for you. When you weren’t within reach, his mind sharpened more and he finally lifted his head to look for you. “Babe? You okay?”

“Fine…just too warm.” You reassured, your voice thready and lacking its usual strength and Sabo could tell immediately that it wasn’t just from tiredness. Immediately he was out of the bed and approaching you, his hand settling on your back to rub it soothingly. As much as you wanted nothing more than to draw yourself closer into his touch you didn’t want to undo the work of managing to cool yourself down. Thickly swallowing, you took his hand into your own and gave it a quick squeeze. “Need to get ready.” 

Over breakfast Sabo eyed you carefully. Any outright attempt to check on you would lead to stubborn refusal to admit you weren’t yourself. Your movements were sluggish and your gaze on your meal was hazy, unfocused as you tried to force another spoonful of food into your mouth. On this attempt the spoon stopped at your lips and you quickly dropped it, pushing away from the table. When you left the dining hall Sabo was following closely behind, making it to the bathroom just in time to pull the hair from your face as you threw up into the toilet. 

“You don’t have to be here…” you groan, wiping the back of your mouth and despite your words you’re more than happy to curl up against his chest while he runs his fingers through your hair kiss the top of your head that was still in agony. “It’s gross.”

“Babe, we’ve fought bloody battles I can handle seeing this.” Sabo chuckled as he carefully eased you to your feet and led you back to bed. When you were snugly against the pillows he draped a damp, cool cloth against your forehead. “Now we’re going to get you some painkillers and medicine and lots of bed rest. No arguments.”

“Sure Chief.” You mumbled, pushing the cloth closer against your head. “Whatever you say.”

“No arguing?” Sabo asked before giving a low whistle as he made his quiet exit to get what you needed to feel better. “You really are sick.”

LAW

It’s impossible to hide sickness from Law. He’s a doctor and he’s trained to see the signs. You haven’t escaped his notice for the last couple of days. You overexerted yourself on the last island, doing double the tasks than originally anticipated after the crew got separated into groups due to a heavy snowstorm. Adding in the tumultuous weather, fluctuating temperatures and constant traveling with little time to rest it was a recipe for sickness. On your first evening back on the Polar Tang your throat began to scratch and you began to clear your throat more than you should. You knew that getting an early night would have been the wise thing but you had your night duties to take care of so you pushed through. By the time you crawled into bed with Law you were shivering and feeling the pressure behind your eyes, pressing against the bridge of your nose, and it felt like you’d swallowed glass. 

Law woke in the early hours of the morning to the feeling of you shifting restlessly, you weren’t quite awake but you weren’t fully asleep either but that was soon to change. His eyes slowly opened to watch you push yourself up from your lying position on your stomach, beginning to cough. The sound was low at first, the rattle in your chest already audible as the coughing persisted. With a groan as the coughing subsided you dragged yourself out of bed, trying to suppress the next bout of coughing you knew would be on its way. You needed to get to a different room so you didn’t disturb Law. Reaching out you felt your way through the dark room, trying not to let the slow rock of the sub as it sailed underwater throw you off your already unsteady balance. When you reached the bedroom door you staggered only to fall back and find yourself on the bed. 

“You’re awake?” Your voice was thick and weak. You turned your head away to cough harshly into your elbow. Exhausted and sore you fell back against the pillows but tried to pull yourself away from being so close to Law. “Sorry.”

Law rolled his eyes and reached out, effortlessly dragging you back to the centre of the bed so he could roll you onto your side and rub soothing circles onto your back. “What’s your symptoms?”

“Just a cold, Doc. I’ll be okay with some rest.” You reported, managing to lift your sore limbs to manage your temples in the hopes of relieving the growing headache. You hated getting sick. You hated having to lie down. It was just a cold you told yourself. It wasn’t going to stop you from doing your duties. “You got stuff to do Law, we both do.” 

When you made a move to get up again, Law acted. Thanks to your lethargy he didn’t even need to be fast. His arm wrapped around your waist and he pulled you closer, his loose weight alone enough to keep you in place, his smirk appearing at the sound of your stubborn mutterings and curses. “If you can’t even get out of this, then you’re too sick to work. I’m not even trying.”

“Make me feel worse why don’t you?” You grumbled weakly, the feeling of Law’s low rumbling chuckle vibrating against you. 

“I’ll get you something to feel better but you have to promise to stay put.” Law hushed you with a quick kiss against your cheek. Slowly he lifted his hand but stayed lying beside you for a few moments to ensure you were going to behave. When he knew you would stay in bed he finally rose to get you the needed supplies. He wasn’t going to leave your side until you were back on your feet.

For the hcs, I’ll expose the ones from my revolutionary croc au:

-Is Croc the one that stays the most with baby Luffy. It was his decision. Dragon is pretty busy, since is the supreme leader.

-They have a really deep and special bond, since the day Luffy was born.

-Croc gave a cute babanawani plush to Luffy and he can’t sleep without it!

-Croc never wears his hook when is around Luffy, he doesn’t wanna risk to hurt his baby.

-Croc built sand castles and other sand objects or animals just for Luffy entrainment. He uses in general his power for his kid, also for saving him sometimes… Luffy loves risky things.

-Due to their bond, Croc always understands his baby needs.

-Luffy can be exhausting, but Croc can’t be tired of him. Nothing will ever change his love for him 💞

-Croc doesn’t have milk, so he uses a baby feeding bottle. And is better for Croc, Luffy’s appetite is extreme even as a little baby!!

-Be nice around Luffy, or Croc will do everything for destroying you 😳

Ace never knew what his mother looked like, never even saw a photograph of her. 

At a certain point, Ace wanted nothing more than to become the marine Garp wanted him to be. He wanted desperately to please his grandfather, a man who could have turned him over to the World Government in exchange for a nice reward and even promotion but chose instead to harbor him. And when Ace learned the truth about his biological father, when Ace realized the World Government would never accept him as one of their own no matter what Garp said, he went to the seashore and cried, forced to accept he would only ever draw the ire of the one man he wanted to please.  

Ace always felt like a monster for beating Luffy. He had a very valid thought process: I have to make him stronger. But he still felt like he was doing something horribly wrong. The guilt stuck with him as he grew older, consuming him when he recalled the times he treated Luffy more like a brother than a son (parentification can be a bitch). 

Ace only began valuing his life after Sabo died. He only did it because he thought he had to for Luffy’s sake. Without Luffy, he would have lost the will to live entirely, and on some level, he did lose the will to live when he met the Straw Hats and realized Luffy was taken care of without him. Rather than feeling peace at having fulfilled the promise he’d made to a deceased Sabo to care for their little brother, he felt a sense of failure because he wasn’t needed. 

Ace once came across one of his father’s old wanted posters and, to his horror, recognized himself. Thus, he avoids his reflection at all costs. He’s been called attractive, but he doesn’t understand why because all he sees when he looks in the mirror is a monster. Burns his own wanted posters when he encounters them because he can’t stand the sight of himself. 

Ace always shrugged it off, but deep down, he felt horribly guilty for sleeping on the floor at Dadan’s place. Bringing food to her doorstep was his way of earning his keep, even as a small child, but the need to pay her back for sheltering a little monster like him didn’t go away when he set sail. He began sending money back to her every month in hopes it would ease the burden he had undoubtedly put on her by existing. 

When Whitebeard tried adopting him, he didn’t resort to violence because he was still trying to take down an Emperor. He did so because he was triggered by Whitebeard’s compassion. It was such a foreign feeling to him he could only think to attack, scared of what that compassion stirred in him. 

Ace was petrified of sex, even when taking every precaution. He was terrified of getting a girl pregnant and bringing a child into the world that hated him before he was ever born and would surely hate his child for all the same reasons, would perhaps even hate that child more because they would be blamed for his crimes in addition to his father’s. He had vivid nightmares about becoming a father, and then felt guilty for having those nightmares about it because he felt like he was inflicting psychological wounds on his nonexistent unborn child by not wanting them. 

Ace died thinking Sabo would be waiting for him on the other side.

BITTERSWEET LOVE CONFESSIONS. . .

★ summary: luffy’s so excited to see you again on zou. (gn!reader)

★ warnings: one piece antics, pre-wci spoilers kinda, sorta ooc! luffy, a lil angst, reader’s an overthinker (wc: ≈1100? is this considered a drabble?)

luffy’s so so excited.

he’s excited to continue his journey on the grand line, in the new world, his next stop zou to pick up the rest of his crew and hopefully enjoy a nice meal. he’s excited to tell the rest of them about his reunion with sabo, what he’s learned on dressrosa, and to catch up on what’s been happening while he was dealing with business.

but more importantly (though he might never say it out loud, because it’s obvious) he’s excited to see you.

it feels as if the two of you haven’t gotten alone time together since reuniting at sabaody. you promised him you’d tell him all about your training during the two years the crew was separated, but there’s just not enough down time to do so.

as soon as the poorly drawn dragon made its way up the elephant’s leg, luffy wasted no time in his search for you. he was eager to see your face again. to hear your voice. to feel your presence. robin giggled at her captain’s behavior, mentally agreeing with him: wanting to see you and nami again (and her chopper and the crew’s skeleton, too).

“YNNNNNNN!!! where are you?” usopp’s eyes shot out of his head as he looked up and saw his captain standing on a tall wall. “CHOPPER!! NAMI!! SANJI!! BROOK!! YN!! DRAGON BOY!!”

“LUUUUUFFY?! GET DOWN HERE!” usopp screamed. “you’re going to draw attention towards us — we don’t need it!!” law watched as the four of them — zoro, robin, franky and usopp (despite just scolding him) — sighed and continued walking forward. what an odd group of individuals. he must be a handful. the doctor decided to follow the rest of the straw hats, choosing to ignore their captain’s loud antics.

nami’s voice shook you awake from your slumber, your eyes blurry as you rubbed your forehead. you’re grateful to have been able to get some sleep, your mind still trying to process what’s been happening these days. too much thinking. miss him so much.

“let’s go outside,” nami suggests. “i think they’re finally here.”

upon hearing the words you’ve craved to hear since you’ve arrived on the walking elephant, you jump from your spot and rushed outside. you’re greeted with the crew mates you left on dressrosa, eyes taking in their forms searching for any injuries. after you’ve decided that they’re all in pretty good shape, your attention returns to the loud boy who stood before you.

“LUFFY!” you shout, legs moving towards him without hesitation, almost as if he was magnetizing. you throw your arms around his frame and jump into his embrace, the warmth of his skin meeting yours. his right hand immediately grabs hold of the back of your head, the other steadying your waist in place. he’s about to tell you how much he’s missed you, until you beat him with a hushed whisper in his ear.

“i’m so, so sorry, Lu. sanji…” you start. “we couldn’t stop him.” you’re standing a foot away from him now, head hanging in shame as luffy processes your words. his hands rest on your shoulders, your eyes ignoring his gaze.

the others who joined him on dressrosa collectively let out their confusion, wondering what could’ve happened in the short amount of time they’ve been on dressrosa. you feel luffy’s left hand move from your shoulder to under your chin,

“tell me, yn.”

you’re all sat in a circle as your captain listens to everyone explaining what’s happened since the twirly hat’s arrival on zou. luffy’s right beside you, digging into his food as your mind fills with memories as nami explains the whole situation regarding sanji. you feel luffy shift slightly, his left arm wrapping around your waist, the other still indulging the meal set in front of him. his attention remains on nami, but the grip on your waist tightens at every mention of you.

after eating, the two of you are able to find some alone time. it’s awkward at first, sitting side by side on a brick wall that guarded the cat viper’s castle. you feel small in his presence as both of you watch the sun set.

“i’ve missed you,” you break the silence. “it’s been a while since we’ve been together.”

luffy’s cheeks are painted with a light blush, a smile forming on his face. “i missed you too yn! been thinking of you ever since you left me on dressrosa — actually, haven’t been able to stop thinking about you since two years ago!”

you return the smile, gaze locking in on his as he brings your body closer to his. his warmth meets your chilled skin, a kiss pressed to the top of your head as you lean into his shoulder.

“have you been okay? doflamingo wasn’t too harsh on you, was he?” you pry. you’ve researched the warlords and came to the conclusion that donquixote doflamingo is — or was — the worst of the seven. when it clicked on punk hazard that doflamingo would be the next victim to fall to luffy, you weren’t sure how to feel. a ton of emotions hit you all at once, but then again, this is the new world. you have to expect the worst.

“oh, mingo? he was this big shot and i’m glad i was able to bring him down. he was doing some really terrible things on the island. but! i did get to see my brother, sabo! you remember me telling you about him, right? turns out he’s been working under my dad for some time now! it’s crazy how the world works,” he eagerly tells you. “he was really hoping to meet you, you know? but i told him you were dealing with business over here — so maybe next time. he also made me a vivre card! it’s in robin’s bag but i’ll be sure to give you a piece when we go back in. hmm, what else?”

you smile as you watch the boy place a hand under his chin and think of events to tell you. you watch as his face changes into many different emotions, and you can’t help but sigh lovingly at the sight.

“hmm? you okay yn?” you shake your head no at the question, inhaling deeply before replying,

“just happy you’re back. missed you so so much. thinking about how much i love you,” warmth filled your face as you realized your last sentence was the first time you’d ever said that to him, eyes darting back to the open sea in front of you.

“huuuuuuuuh?! finally! i love you too, yn. maybe even more! sanji told me i should wait for you to tell me first, but i realized i loved you a long time ago!” luffy’s words were accompanied by his arms wrapping around you once again. he’s always been physical, but this time, you can feel the love radiating off of him. he pulls away and suddenly, your lips are on his. you kiss back instantly, something you’ve craved for a long time; before, luffy’s kisses were always mere pecks. your reunification on sabaody proved that luffy had matured a lot the past two years, but this kiss seals the deal.

“i’ll never leave you, y’know? i kind of wanted you to stay with me on dressrosa,” luffy says as he pulls away and rests his forehead on yours. “but i came to conclusion that you’re strong! which is why i put you in charge. you all made it safely, which was what i told you to do, right? despite what came after…” make sure you and the others arrive on zou safely, yn! you’re now both facing each other, with legs crossed. you quickly think about how high up the two of you are, but the wave of worry vanishes when you remember the bright boy that sat in front of you.

“we’ll get sanji back. we’ll have all our friends together again, so don’t worry. we’re in this together, right?” the words sounded so sweet falling from his lips, and you felt like crying. “it’s a goal of mine to watch you achieve your dream, and so far it’s been a pleasure. don’t plan on missing out!”

seeing the sparkle in his eyes despite the sun setting, made you grab his face with both hands and bring his lips to yours. you poured all the love in your body into the kiss, hoping he’d experience the same feeling you felt when he had kissed you earlier.

“and i’ll be there for your coronation, King.” you smiled at him, turning your body back to the open sea, one you were once afraid of. luffy helped you overcome it; you loved voyaging and the thrill that the ocean offers. you can’t wait to see everyone reach their life dreams, knowing that it’ll happen with the help of the man who sat next to you.

minutes pass you both watched as a pretty shade of dark blue painted the periwinkle sky, in a comfortable silence accompanied by waves clashing against zunesha’s legs.

“….so does that mean we’re technically married now?!”

“luffy..”
