tbh it irks me when people say psyche was "weak" before her character development. she was naive and sheltered, yeah, but weak? she stood up to those two men for badmouthing medea and straight-up asked them what they know about her. that spine of steel was always there somewhere. even eros, who looks down on and scorns her, is noted by the narration to know that "she may look delicate, but she is a strong person" and that "she's someone who does not flinch in the face of storms".

This is totally messed up. Every time she was sent to the temple she was being abused by that weird ass pope, her mother was unstable and sh in front of her, her father was nowhere to be found…Now I completely understand why she thought of Eros as her savior, if anyone took me away from such a life I’d think the same of them…And it’s so shocking that even after all that ordeal of a childhood, she managed to keep herself sane and grew up to be such a selfless gracious girl…

I believe she was able to kind of recover from her past because of the newfound fairytale Eros offered her when they met. He gave her hope that stories like the ones her mother read to her actually existed💔
