Hm. The Starlys sure are nuts today.
The untamed twittering of the birds sounded far more plentiful than normal to the boy. He glanced around, tilting his red hat to better block the morning sun from his slate-colored eyes.
So, where is it? It's here somewhere...
Ah!
He found what he was after, nestled in the tall grass near the lake's edge.
The briefcase.
He picked it up, grunting with effort.
Then, he heard a new sound.
A small sound, like...
A baby Pokemon?
Is that what the Starlys are so riled up about?
He set the briefcase near the path leading back home, and carefully began searching among the trees, straining his ears should the sound happen again. He readied a Pokeball.
Trusting his gut feeling, he followed the Starlys' chatter. They were definitely interested in SOMEthing over here...
He gasped at what he found, and fumbled for his radio.
“...where more Rangers have arrived, and are fighting to get it under control. There has been no news yet on how it started or if there are any casualties, but there is suspicion about a large structure--”
The TV was switched off.
“Hoenn's in a bad spot today, it seems,” The man muttered to a Lucario lying nearby. At his words, she stretched, yawning widely. “I hope they can get that sorted out quickly." He walked to his kitchen table and sipped from his tea cup.
Suddenly, his radio buzzed to life. The voice from the other end was abnormally unsettled. “Uh... P-Professor?”
The man grew serious as he held the button to reply. “Trouble, Lucas?”
“Uhh... N-Not reeeaally... I got the briefcase, but... Uh...” An anxious inhale sounded. “There's a man out here.”
“A man? You have the Piplup on hand, yes? Are you in danger?”
“No no no, I... Uh, no, he's... Not dangerous, I don't think. He's... He's unconscious... and...” The boy's voice cracked, and there was another breath. The man barely heard the next word. “N-naked.”
At this, the Professor's brows furrowed. “Is he injured?” He started toward his bedroom.
The response was quick and squeaky. “I don't know, I'm not gonna stare at a naked guy in the middle of the woods, Professor!”
The Professor couldn't help an inward chuckle at his flustered assistant. “Is he at least breathing?” He grabbed a couple large blankets from the closet, found a first-aid kit, and went to pull on his coat.
“Uh...” The radio went silent for a second. “...Y-yeah. He's breathing normally.”
The Professor nodded to himself. “Alright. I'll be there soon, Lucas. Keep Piplup at the ready in case any wild Pokemon get too involved.”
He went into his lab and explained to the top aide where he was going. He grabbed a Pokeball.
“Aye aye, Professor. And, uh... S-sorry... For, uh...”
“I understand. This is a very unusual occurrence. You've done fine, my boy.”
~~~~~~
(I hope that subject matter isn't too, uh... weird for people. Just so we're clear, I will never do anything overtly nude. I may imply it, but never depict it. Aside from, you know, Pokemon.)
Here we go, starting a whole new chapter!
From here we're gonna be following my playthrough of Shining Pearl that I did with my shinies and Mews. It won't be a perfect match to what happened in-game, it'll just loosely follow the same steps.
Disclaimer: This is my interpretation of the BDSP story and characters. Anyone is perfectly free to disagree with how I handle things, but please respect my decisions as the storyteller here.
If anyone wants to ask about any specific moments of this arc, I'm willing to break chronology UNTIL ETERNA CITY. A very important event happens there, so I don't want to go beyond it in story telling.
CHAPTER TWO
The walk of silence came to an end as they approached massive double doors that no doubt led to an even bigger room.
‘Like the my old castle back home’ the fair maiden held the doors to comparison, while the one at night raven college have a more dark rusty touch with the grand old wood doors, her castle doors back home were colourful and detailed taking at least over 3 months to make each with details of old stories made of clay and wood, the handles made of gold yet still able to swing open easily even with the sizes they were.
Voices speaking caught her attention and she stopped behind Crowley to wait and listen. He also seemed to be mosey as instead of going in he leaned his ear against the wall. ‘Maybe he wants to know if they realised his absence, he is headmaster after all’
~~~mirror chamber~~~
A short boy with red hair spoke up over the commotion of the other students talking. “We're done with orientation and dorm assignments?” He asked then turned to a group of students near him. “All right, new students—let me be clear. At Heartslabyul House, I am the law. Break the rules, and it's off with your head!” A few people seemed to flinch and step back from him a bit due to his voice raising with the last sentence, even the girl outside the door let out a squeal, although it sounded more like the bugle noise a swan makes.
“Yawn* Well, that ceremony was as boring as ever. I'm going back to the dorm. If you're in Savanaclaw House, follow me.” A boy with feline ears seemed to slope around the place ready to get out, his eyes were dropping, and dropping a bit more now, and now there closed, now he’s letting out what sounds like a snore. His dorm mates sweat dropped at that.
“New students! Allow me to be the first to congratulate you on your achievement. As dorm leader of Octavinelle House, I am honored to have the opportunity to support you in what I hope will be a fulfilling campus experience.” The boy with glasses seems to really like his new dorm mates.
“Hey, does anyone know where the headmage went? He disappeared midway through the ceremony...” a pretty looking boy finally spoke up about the problem at hand, took them long enough to notice.
“Some headmage he is.” A voice came out of a tablet contradicting the headmage’s decision to leave.
“Maybe he had a tummyache?” An innocent looking boy with red eyes proposed an even more innocent answer. Suddenly the old wooden doors burst open and crowley stepped through martching to the front with a leashes up cat and a hooded student following behind him.
‘This must be an all boys academy, I see no women in sight’ the new information did not make the maiden any less nervous, she remembers what the last male sorcerer she encountered did to her.
“I most certainly did not!” Crowley even had the heart to seem offended, listening only when it involves himself.
The short red head spoke up “Ah, speak of the devil.”
Crowley seemed to hate her at this moment “If you must know, I was searching for the new student who'd failed to show for orientation.” All eyes turned to her as she tried to stay standing straight and not quiver under their gaze. “You are the only one who has yet to be assigned a dorm. Step up to the Dark Mirror, and be quick about it. I'll watch your weasel.” He showed her to a mirror, one that looked familiar in the sense that her stomach dropped when her eyes met with its own. Even worse was when it spoke to her.
State thy name.
“Yuu..” she felt unsafe giving her name away yet she had to remain some form of strength to show the sorcerers that she wasn’t weak or to be laughed at.
The Dark Mirror seemed to drag out her name. “Yuu…
The nature of your soul is...” the pause it seemed to take was long enough to keep her there until she had to become a swan again.
“...unclear to me.”
“What did you just say?” Crowley seemed appalled and the few that were talking quietly completely stopped, this was shocking enough that they didn’t even make a gossip riot about it.
“I sense no magical power from this one that they themself own, magic from another running through them in such a crewel way perhaps but other then that, none. Soundless. Colorless. Shapeless. Utterly vacant of their own. Therefore, no dorm would be appropriate.
“Are you suggesting that the black carriage went to receive a person who cannot even use magic? But that is absurd! The student selection process has not erred once in its century of existence! How could this have happened?” His yelling of utter nonsense right in her ear made Yuu raise her neck and push her shoulders back a bit.
Grim seemed to struggle in his restraints before getting out “Mmmph! Nnnrgggh... *GASP!* ME! Let ME have this student's seat!” ‘Again what is so special about this school that he has to get in’ she wouldn’t dare say this aloud as people might get offended.
“Not so fast, you hyperactive weasel!” Crowley scolded.
“Unlike that human, I can actually use magic! So let me be a student here! Look, I'll show you! My spells're the cat's meow!” He seemed to charge up, his blue ear flames rising higher.
“Everyone, get down!” The short red head seemed to realise what was happening before others and ducked taking the nearest student down buy the arm with him. Yuu felt someone else yank her down just like everyone was doing with each other, she turned and saw it was the really pretty boy with the blonde hair and.. colour at the tips..?. His eyes seemed to widen a smidge upon seeing her appearance.
“Your a girl..?” She nodded and told him later before they both stood up and looked back at the pyromaniac of a cat.
“Myaaahhh!” He spewed his fire all around the room.
“AHHHHH! HELP! I'm on fire over here!” The boy with the red eyes was panicking not knowing what to do when one’s butt was on fire. So Yuu quickly walked to him and pulled the sleeve of her jacket down a bit before telling him to stay still and began to hit the fire until it died down. He rubbed his but sore from both the fore and the hitting before looking at her. His eyes also seemed to widen making the same realisation as the pretty boy from before.
“Oh! Your a girl!” He seemed to not mind and smiled at her “thanks for that!”
“Your welcome” she gave him a polite smile ‘maybe there all not so bad’
“Someone catch that blasted animal before it sets the entire school ablaze!” Crowley ordered around.
“Ugh. Can I go now, or...?” The boy that was snoozing around before seemed to wake up at the commotion a while ago and watched with bored eyes.
“Oh? I thought you fancied yourself a hunter. Go and help yourself to that plump little morsel!” The pretty boy seemed to snap at the human feline.
“Too much effort. Do it yourself.” He waved the other off
“Allow me to handle this, Headmage Crowley. If none of you are up to the task of catching a small animal, I will accept the responsibility.” He seemed to want something out of this with the tone of his voice, Yuu learned to pick up on this all the time before becoming a swan when she had her lessons as a princess.
“WTG Azul. Rackin' up those participation credits.” Yuu had stared at the floating flat box that seemed to speak words she hadn’t heard before, the box noticed her and flew away a bit into the shadows averting her attention back to the pyromaniac.
“I'm sorry, were my instructions unclear?!” He seemed to stress out the issue ducking from an incoming fire ball.
“Sigh* Preeetty sure you can handle catching one mangy weasel all on your lonesome there, headmage.”
“He’s right” she mumbled out no one hearing her, although the lion boys ear twitched and he looked a bit smug.
“How many times do I gotta say it? I'm Grim, spellcaster extraordinaire! I am NOT a weasel!” It seemed to irritate Grim more calling him names.
“Aren't you a spunky little fellow? Riddle, would you be so kind...?” The boy with glasses, Azul..? Turned to the short red head who’s name is revealed to be Riddle.
“Furry miscreant. I will abide no rule-breaking. You will be judged by my hand.” Riddle seems to bask in the fact that he could stop someone from breaking many rules that we’re definitely in place, one probably being to not set the place on fire.
He pointed what seemed to be a pen with some sort of gem on its end at grim and shouted “Off With Your Head!” A red and black heart shaped collar with gold trim appeared around grins neck weighing him down a bit.
“MYAH?! What are you doing?!” He flailed around.
“The Queen of Heart's Rule 23: "One must never bring a cat to a formal affair. Your very presence here is a violation of order. You will vacate these premises immediately.” He carried a stern voice and upon seeing him like this Yuu could tell he’s done it before multiple times.
“But I ain't a cat either! Don't try to collar me! I'll burn it right off! Huh...? Wh-what gives? My fire ain't workin'!” He tried doing his little charge up but nothing happened for him, the fire on his ears stayed still and no signs of his magic activating appeared. This calmed Yuu down a fair bit and she relaxed herself letting her shoulders and neck fall not holding them up anymore.
“Until I deign to remove that collar, you won't be using any magic. You're naught but a pet cat now.” Riddle now seemed to calm down a bit and talked more smug and relaxed.
“M-meoWHAT?! I ain't nobody's pet-NOTHING!” Grim shook his head.
“Oh, you've nothing to worry about there. I certainly have no interest in having you as a pet. The collar will disappear once you're removed from campus.” He waved the cat off as if he were nothing but a little grass bug, the maiden could tell he was of high status, a noble definitely with the way he carried home self and the confidence he had in his skill, he must be very well trained.
“Ha-HA! Good show as always, Riddle. You're signature spell locks down any magic. It's quite handy. I've just GOT to have it—ah, I mean, I've just got to have respect for it.” Azul seemed to arise a major suspicion in Yuu, she knows how to point out slip ups in their speech and personality and this guy slipped up.
‘He’s definitely a manipulator, look at how he’s obsessing over riddles magic’
“Yuu! Was I not clear that you are expected to take responsibility for your familiar?” Crowley turned to the girl. “Now discipline your—What's that? It isn't yours?”
“Sir, I’ve told you times before, but this creature is not mine, I don’t even know what he is, I’ve never seen a cat like that, especially one that spews fire” she put the emphasis on the words pointing at Grim and trying not to show how overwhelmed she was with a talking, fire magicking cat.
“Oh...Is that so? *Ahem* Then I shall have it expelled from campus. I shall even spare it from being served as dinner. My, but I AM kind. ...Someone take this away, please.” Dinner, this man was even considering making it dinner
“Nooooo! Let me gooooo! You fools better remember my name! Cause I'm gonna go down in the annals of magic history! Just you wait!” Grim kept yelling on his way out of the room.
“I feel a bit bad for the poor thing..” Yuu mumbled, the boy who she had forgotten she was standing next to also nodded at her statement, a bit of a sad look on his face.
“Well, that was quite the unexpected fracas. I hereby declare that orientation has concluded. Housewardens, please escort your students back to the dorms.” He looked around the room for a second. “...Hm? Come to think of it, I don't see Housewarden Draconia of House Diasomnia anywhere.” Yuu had moved back a bit as the commotion picked up again with the new topic.
“And that surprises you? Dude's a total recluse.” The smug human cat rolled his eyes, obliviously not caring about this Draconia.
“Wait a sec... Did anyone even invite him?” The boy she was previously standing next to looked at the others around him awaiting a response.
“If you're that worried about him missing out, maybe you should have told him yourself.” The pretty boy she had first met told the boy with the red eyes.
“Maybe, but I don't know him too well either...” he trailed off. Yuu moved back another step and suddenly bumped into someone.
“Oh! So sorry sir, I didn’t see you” she apologised looking at the person she hit, to say he looked different from what she’s used to is an understatement, he was a bit short and had choppy hair that reached a bit past his chin and.. pink? In his hair. ‘Is that pink streaks in his hair?? How unusual’ the boy looked at her and giggled.
“It’s alright young one” he observed her for a moment, furrowing his brows for a split second before returning to his normal face. “I just need to get passed you m’lady”
“Oh yea of course sorry!” She moved a bit to the side enough so he could get passed her towards the front.
“Thank you beastie” he smiled at her before walking towards the big group. ‘How peculiar of a man he is, but who is beastie..?’ she wondered.
She heard whispers erupt all throughout the room “Draconia... Like, Malleus Draconia? THAT Draconia?”
“So it's true? He really does go to school here?”
“Yikes.”
“Ah. Just as I'd expected.” It was the boy who she ran into before. I figured I'd come down and see for myself whether Malleus had made an appearance. But once again, he was evidently not informed that his presence was required at an official ceremony.” He sighed and shook his head.
“You have my sincerest apologies. I assure you, this oversight was in no way intended as a snub.” Azul apologised
“I mean, you must admit, he's not exactly the easiest person to strike up a conversation with.” Riddle said.
“No matter. All who were assigned to House Diasomnia, follow me. I just hope he doesn't sulk about this.” He waved his hand, mumbling the last part.
“Well, Yuu. This is a most unfortunate turn of events.” Crowley turned to her “I'm afraid that you will not be attending Night Raven Collage after all. Surely you realize that I cannot very well admit a student with no magical ability to my academy”
“That’s alright sir, I didn’t plan on attending your all boys magic school” she took down her hood that was masking her appearance, as well as making her very hot. She played with her hair a bit, neatening it up from its messiness. She heard the man let out a little gasp.
“Your a girl, my this is an even more reason to not admit you into the school I’m afraid, But worry not. The Dark Mirror will see you safely home.”
‘Home, with the others..’ she smiled at the thought, then went sour ‘home where Baron is..’
“Now, step into the gate, and visualize the place you whence you came.” She stepped up and imagined home, with her 11 other siblings and her parents, her father the king, a man of great power who was soft on his daughters yet stern when needed, and of her mother, oh her dear sick mother that she missed dearly, the woman who raised her, the woman that made her cookies within the royal kitchen, the woman who taught her to dance, the loving mother that held her when she cried, the mother that spent all her free time surrounded by her daughters, the woman who taught the youngest 3 daughters to sing carols on Christmas, who taught the twins to sneak off and participate in the royal guard training, the woman who spent her days personally teaching her eldest daughter Yuu, the mother that kissed them all to bed no matter how old they got she would tuck them in and sing a song or tell a story, the woman who started to get more ill it was like a curse that wouldn’t go away, the mother that mourned her children upon hearing of their curse, the woman she left behind.
Her sisters all 11 of them, all turned into swans because of her, they took her fate along with them and carried it for 3 years rarely seeing their parents, following Yuu around, living there lives on a lake, the sisters that she left behind and now they would befall the fate of her curse. The family she would return to.
“O Dark Mirror! Return this soul to where it belongs!” Crowley commanded, yet nothing happened
‘No..don’t tell me’
“Ahem* L-let us, er...try this again. O Dark Mirror! Return this soul—“ he was cut off
“There is no such place.” The dark mirror stated plainly.
‘No..No, no, no’ her mind started panicking, no such place?!.
“What?” Crowlwy asked
“here is no place in this world where this soul belongs.
None.”
“How can that be? My, but today is a veritable cavalcade of impossible phenomena!” Crowley stressed.
The mirror didn’t respond.
“This has never happended throughout my long tenure. I must confess that I am at something of a loss. Tell me: From what land do you hail?” He turned to her and asked.
“I’m from the Rhodanthe”
“Rhodanthe? I'm afraid I am not familiar with such a place.”
“But how, it’s one of the most powerful kingdoms across the land” she tried to block out the thought that drifted at the end of her mind.
“I am intimately acquainted with the origins of every student who has ever come here, and yet... This mysterious homeland of your eludes me. Let us go to the library and look it up, shall we?”
NOTE: that is chapter 3 YAY! I start holidays on Friday but I am going away for about a week so I’ll try to have something at least in the making, I’m glad other are liking this story so tell me what you imagine odette!Yuu to look like and the clothes she wears.
I also took the sisters thing from barbie and the 12 dancing princesses, it’ll provide for good angst in the future and it also says that Odette has other swans with her so I decided to go with that and make them her sisters. Hope you all like this chapter it takes a while to make these but I enjoy it, we’re getting closer and closer to day time in wonderland so I’m exited to write the swan. Also if anyone wants to drop a name for the sisters mother or father I’ll try and use it so I can build up their characters, it just needs to have a medieval touch yk not TO modern and if it comes with a meaning I would love to know that to.
IMPORTANT!! I think I might make other posts like incorrect quotes and stuff based on odette!Yuu and stuff like scenarios or answering questions so I’ll try to see how an ask box or whatever it’s called works and use it, I might even posts other Yuusonas I’ve got but I’ll mainly try to focus on odette Yuu.

Summary:y/n moved back to Michigan after her college degree in music where she reunites with an old lover kai Anderson
Chapter warnings: planning of murder, murder, cheating and smut
Part 4 here
Song that y/n sang:
•¤❅¤•.•°˚˚°•..•°˚˚°•.•¤❅¤•.•¤❅¤•.•°˚˚°•. .•°˚˚
Kai was obsessing even more over world domination since the election now taking action you didn't know what to do you were loyal to kai but even for you this was bizarre.
Taking out councilman chang was going to be hard, you didn't know what was right anymore didn't know what to do, you stood infront of kai in your bedroom putting by your laundry.
"And I said there's nothing more dangerous than a humiliated man" he ends his rant, you let out a soft sigh knowing what will come next, "and we're going to prove it" he added making you turn and face your boyfriend.
"How kai?, how will we make councilman chang pay" you asked he took your hand in his giving it a light squeeze, you sat on his lap "we take him out" he simply said.
You tried to remain calm on the outside but on the inside you felt sick you had never done anything like this, that night with the trainer still haunts you, but you try and block it out with drugs kai's brother had prescribed you for your depression now.
They work for now knowing that soon they won't at all, you didn't want to give into this darkness 100% not yet anyway, kai's ruff hand on your bare thigh.
His hand only got higher and higher, "kai wait you we have a cult meeting" you protested, "They can wait" he smirked moving your panties to one side his thumb grazing over your clit.
You gripped his shoulder biting your lip suppressing a moan, "I want to hear you I want everyone downstairs to hear how your divine ruler is making you feel" his voice husked in your ear, making you let out a loud moan as he slipped two fingers into your soaked cunt.
Gripping his shoulders leaving nail marks on his shoulder through the fabric of his t-shirt, earning a low groan from kai as your walls greedily took his fingers blissfully Stretching you out, "fuck kai" you panted your legs spreading further apart for him, allowing his digits go deeper hitting that spot just right.
"Feel good?" He asked with a devilish smirk, all you could do was moan the pleasure building up nearing your release, "kai I'm close" you moaned grinding your hips with his hand "fuck yourself on my fingers" he instructed
You hips grind down on kais fingers along with the unholy sounds leaving your lips, "that's it baby" kai coaxed you that coil in the pit of your ready to unveil.
One more flick of kais thumb on your clit sent you spiralling your release coating his fingers, as his lips were on yours swallowing your moans.
"Let's go downstairs can't keep them waiting any longer" kai chucked at your state skin flushed, hair all tousled from your ponytail, "but what about you can't just leave you like that" you chuckled collecting yourself together.
"You can make it up to me later" sending a wink your way as you fixed yourself leaving the room, you followed behind after shoving on some shorts on.
All eyes on you both as you entered the basement making your cheeks flush crimson, "Thank you all for coming now let's get right down to business" kai said you sat on the floor your back against the table.
"So our new mission is to take out councilman chang and we do it tomorrow night" kai informed the rest of the cult nodding taking in their divine rulers instructions.
They all listened as kai spoke, his words rolling off his tongue in dominance like a natural leader, "but what if we get caught kai I mean the cops will be around this like a hawk he is the councilman" you said standing up.
Kai's hand cupping your cheeks with a small smile on his face, "that's why we have jack" he said placing a small kiss on your lips taking you aback kai never showed affection infront of his cult members.
You didn't say anything after that letting kai finish his lecture before he dismissed everyone, you made your way back into you and kai's shared bedroom, putting a movie to watch on your laptop, not really caring what it was just something to pass time till kai came to bed.
You were about halfway through the movie when kai had finally went to bed, your eyes meeting his as you laid on your side the brightness of your laptop the only light in the room, "what you watching?" He asked stripping down till he was only in his boxers climbing into bed beside you.
"Just some shitty horror film" you shrugged Turing your attention fully on kai as his arm snaked around your waist, "how about making it up to me" he smirked bringing your lips to his in a heating makeout session, your body effortlessly straddling his.
Your hands trailing down his chest as he lifts your oversized t-shirt off your body, leaving you in nothing but your panties since you took your shorts off when you went to bed.
His rough hands on your breasts kneading them, his fingers rolling on your hardened pecks, you hips grinding on his clothed erection, earning a low groan from the blue haired man under you.
"I want you to ride me" he instructed wasting no time discarding your lace panties as kai removed his boxers freeing his erection, you spat on your hand for lubricant giving him a few tugs before sinking down on him.
The feeling of your silk warm walls eagerly inviting him in, you threw your head back staying like that for a moment, kai was usually eager for you to start moving but tonight he was letting you stay still.
Your lips on his tongues dancing with each other, his hand cupped your cheek holding you there, as his hips thrusted into you, swallowing your moans your bare chest on his, "fuck" you sighed holding onto his broad shoulders for leverage.
"You feel so good baby" he hissed the warmth of your soaked cunt sending hin into a new world of pleasure, you met his thrusts now sitting upright, your tits bounced with every thrust, as you started to move more faster.
"You ride my cock so good baby" kai grunted his rough hands on your hips pushing you further down on his cock, "fuck kai I'm close" you moaned your hand kneading your own breast.
Kai's grip on your hips got tighter seeing you toy with your breasts his cock twitching inside your fluttering walls that clenched around him, "cum with me" he whispered softly unlike the hard thrust that his hips were sending.
With one more hard thrust send you spiralling, your release coating his cock as his coated your silk walls, moaning each others name, both of your breathing shallow collecting yourself from your highs.
Getting off kai exhausted, half closed eyes plus it was pretty late at night you just wanted to sleep, "come here" kai mumbled pulling your body closer to his, feeling the warmth of his body radiat off yours.
The next night was hard for you, sitting in that van your mask in hand making your way to councilman chang's house ivy and winter wouldn't be joining us since winter was babysitting ivy's son and ivy was out with her wife ally.
The nerves bubbling inside of you, you knew that you had to do something to them, you didn't want to but it was kai's instructions, preparing yourself as the vehicle came to a halt.
"Alright let's go" kai said as everyone placed their masks on their head, kai the first to exit the van, followed by you, then rest breaking into the chang's household Harrison and Jane tieing the couple up on the living room floor.
You stood beside kai knife in hand about to make the kill bit only for the plan to be thrown out the window, with Meadow doing your job instead, you felt angry that she took your job, kai was either going to be mad at you or her for that, you took your knife killing the finial victim.
Kai instructed you to mark the walls with a smiley face with a dragged down hand print for the nose like he showed you earlier today, with the blood of the victims, whilst he went outside with some of the cult members leaving you, Gary and Harrison to finish the last of your graffiti.
Once you had finished you left the house looking for kai you couldn't find him, hearing something coming from the side of the house thinking someone else was there, investigating you discovered something that only made your guts churn even more.
Kai kissing the face off Meadow, the pang in your heart, you just walked back to the van not saying a word, tearing rolled down your face luckily your mask was still on so no one saw, till you were alone inside the van removing your mask, wiping the salty water from your eyes and cheeks.
"You okay y/n" Harrison asked getting into the van all you did was nod not wanting to talk, just wanted to be alone with your own thoughts.
The drive back home was silent to you anyway not listening to anyone, kai was talking about how great everyone did, sitting beside you as if he never kissed another woman behind your back, you wanted the world to swallow you whole right now, the kai you remembered wouldn't have done that he loved you.
The reason you two went your separate ways was because of your mental state losing your grandmother who was your whole life, you had to go texas to help your grandad just after you had graduated, knowing long distance wouldn't work out plus the stress you were under kai was understanding.
But now you wanted to make kai pay for his actions, walking into the house everyone including kai went into the basement for a celebration drink you took a bottle of whisky you gotten for your birthday still unopened and going to bed.
Changing into sweatpants and a tank top swigging on the bottle the bitterness hitting your tongue, guitar in hand strumming the strings, playing a random song to take your mind off what you had just witnessed.
"Y/n babe where are you" you heard from the hallway, seeing kai come into the bedroom, "come downstairs bring the guitar" he said you shook your head. "I want to be alone right now kai" you said not looking in his eyes if you did the tears would just slip.
"What's wrong" he asked taking a seat next to you "nothing kai" you mumbled strumming the guitar to an old song your grandmother used to sing to you, "it's clearly something is it what we did look it's scary at first but-" You cut kai off with a cold laugh finally looking at him taking another swig of whisky.
"I don't care about that kai it's what I saw you doing with Meadow" you hissed standing up with the guitar in hand and whisky "y/n wait there's a reason for that" kai said his hand grabbing your arm.
"How is there a reason kai for you cheating did you fuck her huh?" You asked anger and sorrow was all kai saw in your eyes "no I didn't y/n but it's for the cult I have a plan" he insisted making you shake your head in disbelief.
"For the cult yeah and what would fucking Meadow the irritating bitch help the cult" you asked waiting on the answer "she's going to video me getting attacked in a day or two then I'll declare I'm running for senator" he informed.
"KAI I COULD HAVE DONE THAT" you snapped walking away "y/n wait once it's the final conference she's going to shoot me" he added making you come to a halt "what the fuck kai you know what do it and see if she's going to be by your side through everything because I'm done I'll stay in the cult but us we're over" you said.
"What happened to you kai you've changed the kai I loved would never have done what you did" you whispered going down stairs.
"FUCK" you heard kai yell punching the wall as you went to the basement, "y/n" they all cheered tipsy "play us a song" Gary said as you sat on the floor legs crossed in a basket "any requests?" You asked setting the guitar on your lap fingers on the frets.
"One of your songs" winter said finally getting home from ally's and ivy's you nodded strumming the guitar again.
"The devil's tongue is long and rotten
Do you remember or have you forgotten?"
Finally kai made it back downstairs angrily, his eyes burning through you as you sang.
"The games we played, it's all the same
It's all the same
I was a child
Not long ago
The stairs were steep
Too steep to follow"
Your eyes were on him as well not breaking the eye contact, kai wished he didn't do what he did he loves you but it is for the cult his top priority, you knew you were second best to that.
"I'll go
Where, I don't know
But I'll go"
"With kindness and grace
You brought what I paid
It was just a game
It's all the same anyway"
"I'll go
Where, I don't know
But I'll go
I'll go
Where, I don't know
But I'll go"
Everyone cheered once you finished the song making you smile at the compliments you were showered with, making kai jealous, "right everyone call it a night" kai said everyone betting their goodbyes leaving you and kai alone.
You grabbed a blanket from the basement making a makeshift bed on the sofa, "what are you doing?" He asked you just ignored him "y/n I asked you something" his voice getting angrier and angrier "fuck sake kai what does it look like I'm not sleeping in the same bed as you anymore" you huffed going to grab a cushion from the living room.
Next thing you knew you were spinned around facing kai his hand on your throat, lips smashing on yours "what did I tell you the most dangerous thing is" he mumbled angrily againt your lips "a humiliated man but there's something worse than that" you chuckled feeling the wetness in your heat.
"Yeah and what's that?" He asked, you finally gave in to kai's darkness fully if that's what he wanted you were going to prove Meadow was nothing compared to you "Me" you whispered.

maid's worst nightmare - ch 7
and we're back yet again! this time you briefly get to meet Wendy O. Koopa for the first time! damn, y/n just can't seem to get a break, huh?
previous chapters
This time you didn't sit down as you kept wandering the castle. As cute as Dryden was, you wanted to avoid more potential social situations, and you figured if you kept moving you could get away with a polite smile and nod at anyone else you crossed paths with. Although, you supposed eventually you'd have to stop and ask directions back to Bowser's room; given that you ate recently, you figured you'd be more ready to get some sleep than seek out the kitchen to eat again in a few hours.
Whatever. For now, you didn't want to be near the bastard, so you just walked wherever your feet took you - down long hallways that all seemed the same, with pillars and sconces and red carpet (and the occasional painting or tapestry), doors dotting the walls every so often, big chandeliers occasionally offering a bit more light.
Eventually, you stumbled upon a door that was clearly not a bedroom door. Instead of a fancy design, or fancy panels or molding, it was just a regular wooden door. No doubt treated for heat, but simple nonetheless.
Since curiosity is always and forever a motherfucker, you made a snap decision to be potentially stupid and opened the door - just to be greeted by the warm air of outside. Instead of just seeing stones and lava, though, you were greeted to the sight of what looked like a go-kart track in the mid distance. You blinked and glanced at the closer building a little off to your left; multiple garage doors clued you into the fact that it had to be the garage where the karts for said track were located. Well… maybe a good walk and some investigating wouldn't hurt that much. Right? Sure!
You threw your caution into the nonexistent wind and boldly strode toward the garage. It was a little weird how much less nervous you felt without a certain pair of eyes on you… or maybe it wasn't weird at all? Either way, you refused to hold yourself back based solely on the potential of trouble.
You'd done too much damn work after your first "life" to enjoy yourself and get away from that paranoia. You were going to do what you wanted, damn it! Hadn't that bastard turtle even said he didn't mind if you walked around? Yes, he did, so you were going to take advantage of that. Hell, maybe you'd even stumble upon an escape route, if you were lucky!
…Although, if you escaped, you weren't sure how to get back to the Mushroom Kingdom. Maybe you had better wait for Peach after all.
And yes, she would rescue you! She had to! You gave the door now in front of you a determined frown as you pushed it open. Peach hadn't given you a reason to believe that she wouldn't find you, so you were actively choosing not to believe Bowser's words.
He wouldn't get in your head or under your skin, no way!
"Oh," you said softly out loud to yourself. A light automatically flicked on as soon as you entered, revealing not just two or three, but rather almost ten karts resting in the garage. They looked immaculate, the paint jobs nicely waxed and buffed and shiny, and the interiors kept clean. You approached one curiously for a better look; there weren't any tears on the upholstery or even fingerprints on the steering wheel. The thing looked brand new, although you couldn't imagine it was - you'd been hearing quite a bit about the kart races ever since you arrived in Peach's castle a few months ago.
"I wonder if the kids drive," you murmured softly to yourself; your voice bounced off the walls and you smiled a bit. Only two of them looked big enough to seat the king himself but you weren't about to approach those . He'd probably tan your hide if you even breathed too closely to them! However, you weren’t so afraid to lightly run your hand over one of the smaller karts as you gave it a good once-over.
Honestly, despite the situation you were currently in, it would probably be exciting to witness a kart race in real life. You’d seen the reruns of past races, but you understood they only happened twice a year and you hadn’t been around long enough yet to even get a chance to see it. Hopefully it wouldn’t happen while you were trapped here… but then, what were the odds you’d be here that long?
You didn't want an answer to that.
With a sigh, you turned and slipped back outside. Karts and cars weren't really something you ogled too hard usually. Plus, you weren't done feeling the oddly comfortable warmth of the fresh air yet.
You glanced around as the door closed behind you; most of the terrain was just… well, rocky. Rocky and flat just like home, although your home hadn't had pools of lava just sitting around. If you were a braver soul, you might've found one to get closer to, but you rather liked your eyebrows and haircut.
Maybe there was a path you could wander around on that didn't risk your skin and hair? Surely yes; the grounds, even just the castle itself, were fucking massive.
You drew in a breath, glanced around one more time, then chose a direction away from the castle and started walking. As you walked, you glanced up at the slowly darkening sky. Honestly, you bet the glow of lava against the night sky was probably quite breathtaking. You'd have to wait maybe an hour or so, but you wanted to see what it was like.
Something scampered by your foot and you nearly jumped - only to realize it was a little lava lizard hurrying to hide underneath a nearby stone. A small smile tugged at your lips as you bent to try and see underneath, but the shadows were already too dark. At least now you had a small goal while you were here: catch a little lizard to get a better look at the little… hm, geckos, maybe? You were excited to figure that out, anyway.
If you weren't afraid of getting your hand bitten you might've reached under for it, but you still weren't too familiar with what sorts of wildlife inhabited the kingdoms.
…It was only a little lizard, right?
Either very stupidly or justifiably boldly, you dropped onto your knees and bent down to stick your hand beneath the rock with the intention to feel around for the lizard. However, just as your hand passed beneath the stone, a pair of hands gripped your shoulders and yanked you back. You flipped onto your ass with a yelp, scrambling to get on your feet. Only then did you realize that none other than Wendy O. Koopa stood before you with her hands on her hips.
“Are you deaf?” she demanded. You blinked at her and silently shook your head no; why the hell was she wearing heels? Not that there was anything inherently wrong with it, but you would’ve tripped and broken your ankle trying to walk in them across such rugged terrain. Admittedly, though, she was pretty cute, with her lipstick, polkadot bow, and even her shell all matching the pink of her heels. You’d hold off on judging her personality until you knew why she was being… well, a bit of a bitch.
She scoffed, eyeing you up and down. “Coulda fooled me. I guess you didn’t hear me trying to warn you about sticking your hand in random holes, huh.” She stuck her snout up a little. “...It’s Missy, right?”
How the hell did she know? Oh well.
“...Right,” you mumbled. “Sorry, I was… there’s a lot on my mind. Um, is there something wrong with trying to catch lizards?” Although you tried not to sound too ignorant, you weren’t sure if you succeeded or not. You were ignorant, of a lot of things, but you didn’t want to seem like it.
She scoffed at you again and grabbed the hem of your shirt to drag you a few steps away from the stone. “Idiot, you’re a human . That’s a lava lizard. It spits little magma balls when it feels threatened, so unless you wanna get some serious burns, don’t go trying to catch one!”
You winced, subconsciously rubbing your hands as you glanced down at your potentially terrible mistake. That was a very good thing to know.
“Oh… thanks for warning me. I’m new to this whole area, so I really don’t know anything about the fauna. Or flora, for that matter,” you admitted. You glanced back at Wendy to see her expression had softened a little; okay, so maybe she genuinely had just been trying to warn you. It wasn’t unheard of for people to act angry when they’re actually afraid, after all.
She put a surprisingly strong hand on your lower back as she nodded. “C’mon, Maidie. If you really wanna see a little lizard up close, I’m pretty sure Junior has one you can handle.”
You blinked, then glanced at her. “Maidie?” you replied, raising an eyebrow.
She smirked a little in response, then nodded, “Yeah. Maidie. Can’t be calling you by your real name, right? We’re not that close.”
Fuck, you’d take it. Hopefully the confusion would keep people thinking your name was Missy or something. Or maybe they’d get confused and think Maddie (not Maidie) was your name, and call you something else altogether.
“Right. Thanks.” You turned toward where she was trying to guide you and took a few steps. Something caught your eye, though, and you paused right when she did.
The two of you watched as something started to happen that you had thought would be impossible: little flurries of snow were suddenly making their way down through the air. You had assumed that with all the lava around and the relatively comfortable temperature of the air that any snow would melt before it even got close, but here it was. And before you had even finished registering what it was, a biting wind began to kick up, pushing at your hair and clothes, the chill of the snow hitting your skin a shock to your system.
“Shit,” Wendy hissed, giving your back a shove hard enough to force you forward. “Run, lady, or else we’re gonna get caught in a flash storm!”
You didn’t even bother to respond as you lurched into action. Five steps later saw the ground already covered in a thin layer of snow with more quickly piling on. Even running, it took the two of you several long minutes to get to the nearest door inside, and by that time you were already soaking wet and shivering from the sudden onslaught of heavy snow and shearing wind. Your fingers, ears, nose, and feet were all numb; the moment the door closed behind you, you collapsed onto your knees, shivering violently.
“Wh-wh-what th-the he-he-ell-l-l,” you managed to get out through chattering teeth.
“Guards!” Wendy snapped, “Get the lady dry clothes and heated blankets, now! Maidie, I guess no one told you but up here we get flash blizzards like that. They happen so quickly there’s no time to even warn anyone… Damn it. Dad’s gonna kill me if you get pneumonia or something.” She helped you onto your feet and down a hallway. Since everything looked practically the same, you had no idea if she was taking you back to Bowser's room or if you were going somewhere else altogehter. Either way, you didn't think you'd complain as long as it was warm - you were struggling just to stay on your feet.
Despite being smaller than you, Wendy supported your weight fairly easily, much stronger than she appeared on the outside. She kept you moving even when you stumbled, which was concerningly turning out to be quite a bit. Hopefully she knew how to properly help humans deal with hypothermia…

hiii! i'm feeling a little bad about the *checks calendar* really long delay in the posting of the next chapter of my rhysothy fic the devil doesn't bargain sooo.... i figured i'd post a little snippet of the chapter to maybe tide people over?
i have the first chunk of the chapter written (edits pending) & that's what you'll find under the cut! 👇👇👇
The first thing Jack says when Tim picks up his call is, "Are you ready to behave?"
The last time they'd spoken was when Tim was on the ship to this stupid, tiny, rains-all-the-time, wet as fuck planet. As if to sell his point, a fat drop of cold water drips off the back of his helmet into the space between it and the collar of his jacket, freezing, down the back of his neck. Tim shudders and moves further under the awning he's sheltering under. The rain is coming down sideways so it's mostly useless but something something the illusion of… whatever.
Anyway, he's been sending regular updates on how things are going here but Jack hasn't directly replied to any of them: all of Tim's orders are coming through a series of intermediaries. And given how well the last call had gone, Tim isn't particularly excited for this one. He suppresses the desire to reply with something snarky like I'm great, Jack, how are you? or Go fuck yourself.
"Yes." He says, answering the somewhat vague question the way he knows Jack wants it answered.
"You sure?" Jack says, "You seemed pretty bent out of shape last time we talked, just wanna make sure you've had enough time to chill out before you say or do something you'll regret."
Tim casts back to being sent to this shit-hole of a planet weeks ago, to the conversation he'd overheard Jack have with Rhys. The way Jack had spoken to Rhys. He hadn't reacted well.
"I'm sure." Tim says, hopeing Jack is calling to give him a new assignment. He would take a job doing freaking mall security over being constantly damp and cold in this miserable place.
"Fantastic!" Jack says, "We're coming up to the end of the quarter and Hyperion has, yet again, broken our previous record for profits. The board wants to do a little celebration for the hard working employees." The call is audio only but Tim gets the impression that Jack does finger quotes around hard working.
Normally this is where Jack would tell him he doesn't want to go, and that he's going to have Tim fill in for him, but that doesn't make any sense. Tim did something stupid and Jack's mad about it. He doesn't want him anywhere near Rhys. So that can't be it.
"Thing is," Jack continues, "Hyperion employees are fucking lame and I don't wanna go. So that's where you come in."
"You… want me to go to the event in your place." Tim says, half-disbelieving.
"Yep."
"On Helios?"
"Uh huh."
"Is that wise?" Tim says, in spite of himself.
"You questioning me?"
"No, I mean, isn't Rhys going to expect you to take him?"
"Well, yeah."
"... You want me to take Rhys to a Hyperion event… as you."
"What's with all the questions? I don't feel like this is an overly complicated concept. This is literally the whole reason for you! Like, what's the point of having a body double if you don't use them to do shit you don't want to?" Jack says.
"That's not really what I'm concern—"
"Ugh, it's fine! You've done plenty of these before, just play pretend for a little bit, make the board happy, give the nobodies a little bit of attention, show Rhys a good time, and call it a night. I mean, obviously you're not allowed to fuck him, just send him home at the end of the night. He's used to it by now."
Tim is sure Jack understands that this is not standard fare. Jack has to know that Tim pretending to be him around Rhys is going to be a special brand of torture. He doesn't understand what Jack is going to get out of it, is the thing. Sure, he can watch via the cameras but so far he's enjoyed rubbing Tim's face in things more directly and in person.
The only conclusion he can draw is that Jack is starting to get bored. Which might not spell anything good for him or Rhys.
"You really don't see an issue with this?" Tim says.
Jack makes a drawn-out frustrated noise, "Are you telling me you don't think you can handle it? I guess I could probably scrounge up one of the other doubles I have stashed away somewhere but they're not quite as convincing… Whatever, it's not like he'll notice."
"No, no, I'll do it."
"Yeah? Not gonna be too difficult for you?"
"It's fine, I can handle it."
"Glad we got that settled. I'll get a shuttle sent out to collect you. Make sure you're ready for it." Tim's ECHO chimes with a message indicating where and when the shuttle will arrive.
"And Tim?"
"Yes, Jack?"
"Don't do anything I wouldn't." The call ends abruptly. Tim stares out into the grey expanse of the sky overhead.
He's going back to Helios.

We're arresting Joseph today, folks. Enjoy a snippet from Chapter 3 of Sabrina's story. For the sake of including the end where everything goes down (I feel guilty to cut it out), I'm skipping chunks from the opening of the chapter.
When they entered the church, the atmosphere got even more foreboding. The air was stifling from all the bodies crammed inside. The lighting, numerous phrases scratched into the walls and bird cages dangling from the ceiling invoked a feeling of dread. At the far end Sabrina could see screens with verses and Eden's Gate's version of the cross, the symbol of their Project, between them. "Something is coming. You can feel it, can't you?" From where she stood, Joseph Seed was barely a silhoette, addressing his people from the front of the church. He really was holding a service in the middle of the night. "Gray. He's fucking shirtless too. What is this? Am I about to wake up at the Spread Eagle, with the biggest hangover…", Calahan hissed out. "Not the first time I've arrested a shirtless creep…" Sabrina whispered back, winning a quiet chuckle from Hartley. "We're creeping towards the edge and there will be a reckoning." Joseph's voice was unwavering, even in the presence of so many officers of the law walking towards him. "We know what happens next. They will come. They will try to take from us, take our guns, take our freedom, take our faith. We will not let them." The pews around them were full of people, all getting up from their seats as Whitehorse and the Marshal approached. The hostile stares shifted to Sabrina when she neared the front of the church. "Sheriff, come on,", Burke's impatience struck again, he was done listening to Joseph's ramblings. "Hold on, Marshal." "We will not let their greed or their immorality, or their depravity hurt us anymore." Sabrina got a better look at Joseph Seed and Cal was right- he WAS shirtless, his chest covered in tattoos. On top of that he was wearing yellow aviator glasses indoors at the middle of the night, his darker hair tied back in a manbun… and was holding a rosary in one hand- which was the only thing she could consider normal about his whole appearance during church service. "There will be no more suffering", he continued his speech as Whitehorse tried to keep Burke under control. Sabrina found irony in the fact that earlier he was worried about Cal losing his cool, yet it was the Marshal rushing the arrest and putting them all in danger. Burke held up the warrant, screaming out, "Joseph Seed, I have a warrant issued for your arrest on the suspicion of kidnapping with the intent of harm. Now I want you to step forward and keep your hands where I can see them." At his words some of Joseph's people moved in to stand in front of their leader, all of them armed, ready to defend him with their lives. Fuck. So much for quiet.
Cal's words were barely a whisper, "You say the word, and I'm taking your place, Gray. They're pissed." Instead of addressing Burke, Joseph spoke directly to his followers once more. "There they are, locusts in our Garden. See they've come for me. They've come to take me away from you. They've come to destroy all that we've built!" "STAND DOWN! STAND DOWN! Everyone calm down.", Whitehorse now raised his voice too. Shouting. Chaos. And then silence. Not because of the Sheriff's desperate attempt at deescalating the situation, but so Joseph could speak feely again. Behind him Sabrina saw a familiar figure in a long jacket moving towards the middle. She recognized the slicked back dark brown hair and well-groomed beard, the smug face of the man she saw everywhere in Holland Valley. At least he isn't stupidly wearing his sunglasses inside too. John Seed was there in the flesh, and so were his other siblings, Jacob and Faith. The three were watching the confrontation silently, standing behind their brother in support. "We knew this moment would come, we've prepared for it. Go. Go. God will not let them take me." It was all it took for his men to stand down and walk out of the church. Sabrina had met many con-artists in her life, but this… was on another level. The hold he had over them was chilling. So was the fact he kept chanting about a first seal opening. "STEP FORWARD!", Marshal tried interrupting him unsuccessfully. "…and behold, it was a white horse", Joseph shifted his gaze to the Sheriff, "and hell followed with him." With that he looked at Sabrina and offered his hands out to her in invitation. "Donovan. Cuff him." One step. Then another. "God will not let you take me.", Joseph spoke again. A vision hit her then, stealing her breath away.
Their helicopter crash-landing. The wreckage. "Nobody is coming to save you." Joseph's men all around, embracing him. Eden's Gate Trucks. Hudson being taken away. And Pratt. And-
"DONOVAN!"
Whitehorse's voice pulled Sabrina out of the vision, she was back in the church. From his tone, she doubted it was the first time he said her name. Her hands felt clammy and she realized she had a tight grip on her handcuffs. Joseph's gaze was zeroed in on her now, shining with curiousity, she knew that conniving look well: her mother wore it anytime she sensed she could use Sabrina's visions in her plans. He was trying to figure out what had just happened. She refused to hold his stare, glacing over his left shoulder and unintentionally meeting John's piercing blue eyes in the process. Anger replaced the shock that had overtaken her after the vision. The bastard was smirking at her hesitation, enjoying every second of it. And his cult leader brother was standing there, still offering his hands innocently, trying to convince them he's allowing them to arrest him. Sabrina knew better, she saw what he was about to do. "No."
A step back. People never believed when she tried to warn them, but she had to try. She had to. For Savannah. For all of them.
"This is a trap." She turned to Whitehorse, lowering her voice, "We're going to crash if we arrest him." "Rookie, cuff this son of a bitch.", Marshal wasn't going to listen, he was too set on finishing the task. On getting HIS name in the paper. "I'm sorry, Gray." Hartley took the cuffs from her hand, assuming her role and sealing their fate. "Let's get this over with, you bastard. Joseph Seed, you're under arrest. You have the right to remain silent…", her handcuffs were now secured on Joseph's hands. Her thoughts were racing.
Maybe, maybe there is still time to stop this. "Sheriff, there's going to be an ambush-" "Not now, Donovan. We're gonna talk about this fiasco later. Let's go." It's useless. As always. To see a disaster strike and then be forced to sit there and watch it happen a second time because they all refuse to listen. Hartley passed by her, whispering "You okay, Gray?", he was guiding Joseph towards the doors. She nodded, she'd find a way out of this. She always did.
When they exited the church, the path that led back to the helicopter was surrounded by Peggies, watching, screaming, "They're taking the Father." "I'm a Federal Marshal, I'm ordering you to stand back!" Joseph's men were done keeping at a distance, getting bolder, rowdy and Burke's command was useless at stopping their approach. Warning shots fired in the sky. The 9mm talking over the badge. They barely made it into the helicopter, before the Peggies were climbing all over it, refusing to let their leader go. And instead of telling them to stop, to stand down… he's just sitting there. Basking in the power he holds. Certain he's going to be free soon. Sabrina hated this- the arrogance, a ruthless man thinking he's allowed to use people, to exchange their lives for his. With his men still clinging onto the helicopter, it barely managed to lift off before spiraling back down in a blink as Whitehorse and Pratt lost control of the machine.
Screams. Darkness.
Sabrina found herself regaining consciousness, she could hear a faint "Are you there? Are you there?" coming from somewhere. She was completely disoriented, her head throbbing. Her eyes refused to cooperate, she could barely make out Hartley and Hudson passed out on both of her sides. Across her, Burke too was out cold and Joseph's seat was empty. She realized the helicopter was upside down. The crash… She had failed to stop it. Sabrina tried reaching out for a headset dangling close to her, the source of the voice calling out to them. She caught it, only for Joseph Seed to appear and grab her hand. ♫ "Amazing Grace. How sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me…" ♫ The bastard was singing that damned song again. And he was keeping her from getting help. "Please… Are you there? Is somebody there?", she knew that voice. Nancy. Their only hope now. She would call for reinforcements even if nobody responded, Whitehorse asked her to. "I told you that God wouldn't let you take me.", Joseph reminded Sabrina, staring into her eyes, into her very soul. "Please. I need to know what's going on." Yes, there's panic in Nancy's voice. Help would come- Joseph reached for the headset, "Dispatch. Everything is just fine here. No need to call anyone." "Yes, Father. Praise be to you." No, this can't be happening. NO. She's one of them. In a flash, he was in her face, whispering, "No one is coming to save you." before getting out of the helicopter to meet his men. Embracing them just like in her vision. Telling them how "everything is unfolding according to God's plan." She looked back at her fellow deputies, Joey and Cal were finally coming to, so was the Marshal. "The first seal has been broken. The collapse has began.", Joseph was poiting at them, "these harbingers of doom will see the truth." His voice rose, sending a chill down Sabrina's spine, "BEGIN THE REAPING!" She struggled to break free, but the seatbelt was holding her in place, she knew she won't have much time to fight back. Joseph's men grabbed Hudson then and Sabrina reached for Joey, trying to stop them from dragging her into one of their trucks. She failed, her strength was leaving her, the crash really had done a number on her. "GRAY!", Cal called out from outside, he had freed himself, "I'm gonna get you out, hold on." The helicopter caught fire on her right, forcing the Peggies to back away. "Let them burn. This is God's will. This is their punishment." Burke stumbled out too, running away, saving only himself. "Go, kid. I will be right behind you." She didn't want to risk both of them getting caught. Even if she didn't follow, Cal would get help.
I'm only going to slow him down. "Sabrina…" "Go, Calahan! I mean it. FUCKING RUN." She knew this time he had listened because Joseph's men were shouting "They're getting away!" Sabrina took a deep breath, her seatbelt finally gave way, she was free. With all the strength she could muster, she crawled out of the helicopter, her fingers making contact with the wet leaves on the ground and the dirt. She was out. But- It's too easy. Too quiet. Then she saw them. A pair of boots, right in front of her. She looked up. Her vision was still a little blurry, her head starting to hurt more by the minute. She could feel blood trickling down her face. Fuck. It's getting worse.
And she had company. John Seed. Looming over her. Staring. Smirking like he did in the church.
Sabrina attempted to stand up and failed, knees giving out. She propped herself up with one hand, reaching for the gun in her holster with the other. Raising up her weapon at John. Her hand shook. Her vision blurred again. No. In a blink, he grabbed the gun from her grip, muttering "Now, that's enough, Sabrina." She was disarmed, his voice- the last thing she heard before losing consciousness.
John
John arrived at the crash site in the woods last, his people had already taken Hudson away and two of the Sinners that tried to arrest Joseph had managed to escape. They won't be free for long. The Reaping has began. Then he saw her. Sabrina. Crawling away from the wrecked helicopter. Fierce, refusing to give up. Even in her weakened state, she was trying to fight back, blood running down her face, dead set on killing him. He looked at Sabrina, now passed out cold on the ground in front of him. Good try, Deputy. But you failed. Can't say I didn't find it entertaining, though. Ever since her birthday he tried to keep his mind occupied and mostly succeeded at ignoring the urge to find her again. His curiosity came back in full-force the moment she walked into the church, tasked with the arrest of his brother.
And yet you refused. Why, Deputy?
She had looked at him for the first time back there, expressive hazel eyes betraying her attempt to appear stoic, telling him she's terrified.
Of what? Him? His brother? Yes, you should be.
"Brother," Joseph walked over, putting a hand on his shoulder. He had been quietly observing John since his late arrival. "something is bothering me." "What is it?" "This one…", his gaze shifted to Sabrina, "she acted strange during the arrest. As if she saw something. It was written all over her face." "Yes. I saw that, too." "We don't need any hindrances now that the Collapse is upon is. This girl could be one." John nodded, he knew how important it was for everything to go down the way Joseph saw it. The way God intended things to happen. "I'm leaving her in your care, brother. Find out what's going on, but keep it quiet, until we know what we're dealing with. Minimize our people's exposure to her. Do you think you can manage that?" "Of course, brother. I will see to it. You know that." "Good, good." Joseph clasped John by both shoulders, his eyes full of conviction, of faith in HIM, "I know you will." With that Joseph departed, leaving him with a new task. Not only was John going to help the Project by figuring what made Deputy Donovan tick, but he now had the chance to satisfy his pesky curiosity once and for all.
Yes, it's finally her turn to confess too.
His right hand man, Mathias Bennett, approached him now that his conversation with Joseph was over. "John, we taking this one too? Or is she dead?", he asked refering to the Deputy at their feet. "Alive. But you're keeping your silence about this one. Nobody else is to know. Joseph's orders." "Of course." Mathias made a move to drag Sabrina to the truck waiting on them. "I've got her. Open the door for me." His enforcer watched in bewilderment as John gathered Sabrina in his arms. "The door, Mathias." "Sorry, boss. Just… is this one special?" John gave him a look. "I'm sorry." Mathias strode off and opened the door, not daring to say anything else. "And have someone to take a look at her head when we arrive. The Project needs her alive and coherent." John carried Sabrina to the truck, trying to ignore Mathias' question and what it meant. "Is this one special?"
No. They're all just sinners. A task that would open Eden's Gates for me.
But it got worse… if he didn't know better, he could have sworn he felt her relax in his embrace. He found this thought hard to shake off. That would be a big mistake, Deputy. I'm the last person you should feel safe around.

The Other Autobot, Season 1 [Prologue]
Hi!
I love Transformers: Prime and have been rewatching it, so prepare for a new journey lol.
Also, I'm also putting Mayfly and Robyn into Bumblebee/Rise of the Beasts, potentially, so be on the lookout for that fic if you're interested (please let me know if you're interested cus I have a few chapters ready to go).
Now, here's the prologue and my theory about how the Autobots came to Earth, factoring in my OC.
It stands to reason that the military/Agent Fowler would be among the first responders when the Autobots crashed to Earth, so that's why I wrote it the way I did.
If there is a canon version of their meeting, I am not aware of it, so have taken liberties.
Anyway, without further ado, here y'all go! If you have questions don't hesitate to ask!
God Bless and Good Day!
~The Lupine Sojourner
"Uncle Will, when you said I should serve my country, this isn't exactly what I had in mind." I muse as we drive to yet another base.
"I know, but I promised."
I sigh.
Ah yes, the infamous promise. When I was born, Mom and Dad named Dad's best friend, William Fowler, as my godfather (and my mom's best friend as godmother, but she's…no longer around. KiA…), so when Dad was killed overseas and Mom succumbed to grief and cancer, 'Uncle' Will became my only legal guardian and even now I'm nearly 23, we're still very close.
He never let me enlist as an active-duty soldier despite my many protests, but he did get me various army contract jobs as an inspector, weapons tester, etc.
Now, he'd gotten me a job as basically an archivist digitizing and organizing reports out of a base near Jasper, Nevada.
Joy.
"I know, hun, but you know how I feel about any other service."
I roll my eyes. "Too well. I'm too young and innocent for politics, too inexperienced to be a soldier-"
"That's not why, and you know it."
I sigh. "I know. I'm sorry. I know you're just looking out for me."
"Always."
Soon, I'm shaking hands with my orientation officer. Then it's setting up accounts and employee files, learning how to enter information, getting my clearance badge to be able to handle the confidential material in the reports, on and on, all while Uncle Will got to go home.
Ugh. At least we can be under the same roof when Uncle Will isn't out on assignments.
Finally, I shake the officer's hand once more and am dismissed.
I head outside to where Uncle Will is waiting to pick me up.
"Thanks, Uncle Will." I murmur. "I realize I haven't been as grateful as I should to you for all you've done. It's not fair of me to complain about the one thing you won't let me do. I'm sorry."
"I appreciate that, sweetheart." He replies, patting my leg without taking his eyes off the road. "Apology accepted."
Unsure what else to say, I fall into silence.
We get home soon enough and I cook us up kielbasa and potatoes for dinner. Uncle Will likes it, and I figure I owe him dinner after he got me this job.
=#=#=#=#=
The first day at my new job both dragged on and was over quickly, somehow.
Regardless, I find myself yawning as I grab my keys from my purse.
The rest of the week went by in a blur of boredom and repeating files (most of which I cleared to be deleted or compartmentalized).
Ugh! I want to do something that will actually matter! Like Uncle Will!
But until he says otherwise, I'm stuck on library duty.
So I race myself to see how fast I can get a stack done, but even that doesn't do much for me.
Finally, my first week is done and I sign out to go home and see what Uncle Will is up to.
On the way home, however, I notice a star in the sky, a really bright one.
The sun wasn't set enough to see stars, so I pull over, curious.
That's when the star grew brighter and bigger…and closer!
I hastily drive perpendicular to the meteor (or whatever was coming down to Earth in a hurry) and see a large unmistakable smoke trail as whatever it is continues a crash course for the desert.
On instinct, I drive after it, surprised at the distance it goes before finally crashing.
I pull my car behind some trees and turn it off, trying to think of what to do.
I automatically grab my phone to call Uncle Will, but for some reason, I decide to investigate first.
I mean, I shouldn't report til I have all the facts, right?
So I take a deep breath and grab my taser, just in case.
The meteor is huge! Easily the biggest I've seen. Only…why does it look like metal?
And why is part of it opening?!
I scramble behind a tree and have to stifle a scream as…something comes out of what I now realize is a spaceship! An actual spaceship!
More things come out and I have to make myself take a peek. They look like robots, each of them taller than me.
I'm trembling as I snap a picture on my phone and get a better look.
They seem to be communicating, but it's not in any language I can understand.
I try to get closer, but end up kicking a rock and alerting the robots to my presence.
Before I can get behind any cover, I'm grabbed by the waist and hoisted up.
That weird language sounds from the being holding me (a small-ish female-looking robot compared to the other taller male-looking robots) as I'm hauled into the middle of the group.
"Let me go!" I scream, panicked, beating at the metal hands, but I don't accomplish anything but probably some minor bruising against the metal. "Put me down!" The grip is strong, nearly bruising my ribs, which does not help my current panic at all.
The robot's head tilts as if curious, her glowing blue eyes (something I note in every face) flickering for a moment, as do the others, I note with a glance.
The one holding me smiles. "Hey there. I'm guessing you're a local?"
I go still. "You speak English?"
"Now we do." She replies coyly.
"Easy, human." The tallest robot, painted red and blue with some metal left unpainted, intones in a deep, serious, but ultimately trustworthy voice. "We mean you and your planet no harm."
I squirm. "Then put me down!"
The one holding me does at a nod from the tall one.
"What is your designation, human?" He asks, kneeling to get closer to my level.
"Uh…my name is Robyn. Robyn Burns."
"Robyn Burns, we are autonomous robotic organisms from the planet Cybertron, or Autobots."
I swallow, trying to wrap my brain around being the first human to encounter aliens.
"So, uh, you're…not gonna have to kill me cus I saw you, right?" I whimper, the thought occurring to me.
"Wouldn't be that hard." A second male, this one not as tall as the first who'd spoken, painted white and red, grumbles. "No protective shell."
I back up nervously, but the tall one puts a hand on the other's shoulder.
"Easy, Ratchet."
I swallow, still incredibly nervous as yet another male, with a black and yellow paintjob, looks at me, excited beeps and whirring the only sounds he makes.
"They're hardly that interesting or exciting." 'Ratchet' snorts. "They can't even transform!"
"Regardless, they are a species we have not encountered before, old friend. We must be open to the possibilities on this new planet."
"Um…" I hold up a hand, unsure how to go about talking to these massive robots. "How do you guys speak English so well so quick? You were speaking a different language a second ago! And what do I call you guys, anyway?"
"Autobots, obviously." Ratchet snaps.
"There is no need to make her more uneasy than she already is." The tall one replies patiently and then turns to me. "Robyn Burns, my name is Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots. You know Ratchet's name, and this is Mayfly, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead."
I nod, feeling at least a little better now I know they're not gonna hurt me. "H-hi."
"You asked how we speak Earth's languages, Robyn Burns." Optimus continues.
"Yeah, and, uh, just Robyn is, er, is fine."
"Very well." He nods. "We learned Earth's languages through what you call the Worldwide Web or the Internet."
"That fast?" I ask automatically, slightly taken aback.
"They're hardly complicated. Mere data." Ratchet puffs irritably.
"Ratch, c'mon. Ease up, would you?" The one called Bulkhead (a rather, uh, rotund robot with green paint that makes him look almost like an Army soldier) chuckles. "I gotta admit, she's got spunk. I figured she'd freak out." He starts walking around, taking in the scenery. "If we're done with introductions, I figure we should start recon."
"A wise idea, Bulkhead." Optimus notes.
Almost before I know what I'm saying, I'm jogging up to Bulkhead. "Hey, uh, I can help you with that, if you want."
"How could-we hardly need a guide!" Ratchet splutters, but Optimus and Mayfly come to my defense.
"Oh, c'mon! Cut the human some slack!"
"We are strangers on this planet, and have yet to acclimate. I believe it is in our best interest to take Robyn at her word."
I smile, feeling oddly steady the longer I talk to these robots. "Great! So, um, this state is Nevada, on the North American continent in the country of the United States of America. We're outside a town called Jasper, near a military base, in fact." I start rambling.
"Military?" Bulkhead asks. "They won't cause any fuss, will they?"
"Frankly, I dunno. The base is more of an archive, really." I shrug. "As a matter of fact, I work there."
Ratchet starts to speak, but at a stern glance from Optimus says nothing as Optimus addresses me. "Perhaps, then, you can help us assure this military that we mean no harm."
"Maybe! My uncle is a Special Agent who could probably help, too, but, uh, he might not take to the idea of aliens super well." I shrug. "He's a bit old-fashioned."
I lead the way toward my car (unsure what I am going to do when I get there) when Mayfly catches my eye. Her iridescent green paint is beautiful!
"Mayfly, right?" I ask.
"Yep."
"I like your, uh, paint job." Is that weird to say?
"Um…thanks." Yeah, that was the wrong thing to say.
"Sorry. It's just that I like that color is all."
She smiles. "It's alright. I like it, too."
Finally, we reach my car and I pull out my phone. "I should maybe call-"
The sound of a helicopter reaches my ears.
"What is that? 'Cons?!" Mayfly snaps, and her hands change into some kind of gun! In fact, all their hands form guns!
"Wait, hold on!" I cry. "Don't shoot! I think I who it-" As if on cue, my phone rings. I instantly pick up. "Hello, Robyn-"
"Are you out of your Star Spangled mind?!" Yup. Uncle Will saw the Meteor and is probably inbound. Maybe on the chopper…or in the trucks I can see coming in. Either way, it's clear he sees the robots and me.
"Uncle Will, please! I need you to listen! They're not dangerous!"
"I'll believe it when I see it!"
"Trust me! They could've easily killed me, but they didn't! Trust me, please! I can explain!"
The few military trucks pull up, and Uncle Will gets out, hanging up his phone.
"There had better be a darn good explanation, young lady!" He snaps, coming right up to me.
Optimus motions for calm as the Autobots tense.
I lick my lips. "There is, I promise. I was going home when I saw what I thought was a meteor, so I went to investigate, wanting to be able to report all the facts before we jumped the gun. I found these guys. They're friendly, Uncle Will."
"What she says is true." Optimus speaks up preemptively, causing Uncle Will to flinch as he slowly crouches closer to Uncle Will's level.
"It can talk?" He whispers.
"Yup. In English, thanks to the Internet, apparently."
"My name is Optimus Prime, and we are autonomous robotic organisms from the planet Cybertron, or Autobots for short. We mean this planet and it's people no harm. Our ship was damaged and we crashed here. We have no hostile intent."
"...Robyn, I don't think the Pentagon is gonna like this." Uncle Will sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"I know, but we're gonna have to tell at least someone so the military know not to attack them. We can say they're prototype weapons or whatever, just let them stay. I mean, it's not every day we get visitors from space."
"No…no it is not." Uncle Will sighs, orders the troops to back off, and turns to the gathered robots-er, Autobots.
"Uh…welcome to Earth, I guess."

Sonic Adventure 2: Sonadow
Chapter 13: Sonic's Feelings
Amy was mending Sonic’s wound after fighting with the golem. He had broken ribs, not very fatal, but it would take a while to heal.
“There, all done!” Amy said, smiling at him. “Better?”
“Yeah. Thanks, Ames.” Sonic grinned at her.
“Anytime. Now you should rest. I have lots of cookies and stuff in the kitchen, you know. I don't even want to think about what happened back there because I have no desire to ever hear anything like that again. It was horrible! That stupid golem nearly destroyed us.” said Amy.
“Yeah, I know what you mean. But hey, how many times have we been through this already? We're stronger than before, and so much stronger now, we can totally kick some golem's butt!” said Sonic, flexing his bicep.
Amy rolled her eyes and sighed. “You really are too cocky, aren't you? I'm telling you, you can't just fight them head-on! You need to be smarter! How did you ever beat rock monster before? You didn't even know how to use your powers yet.” She shook her head.
“I’ve awakened my power earlier since I've learned to control it. And I guess I got lucky that Rockhead attacked me when he didn't see me using them! Plus, I can fly, so I don't need to worry as much about being ambushed!” replied Sonic, grinning smugly.
Sonic got up from the bed and walked to the main control room where Knuckles relaxed in his seat and Tails was steering the ship through the space.
“So, Tails, how far are we going to the ARK?” asked Sonic.
“Not too far, Sonic! I’m sure we’ll arrive soon enough,” answered Tails, still concentrating hard on flying. Sonic was impressed.
“Well, that’s great, cuz I can’t wait to see the inside of that place! And Eggman is gonna be there. I hope I get to punch the guy in the face. Or kick his ass.” said Sonic.
“Well, if he gets anywhere near you, Sonic, I’ll make sure he doesn’t live long enough to get close to us,” Tails said. “Plus, Shadow’s probably going to show up too, along with Dr. Robotnik.”
“Oh yeah, that reminds me, those guys were working together on this plan, right?” asked Sonic, trying to hide his blush.
“That’s right. They are planning something big…something huge.” Said Tails. “It makes me wonder why they chose to work with Eggman in the first place. I mean, I don’t understand why they worked with him when he tried to kill you.”
Sonic crossed his arms over his chest and gave Tails a serious look. “I know. It was weird, especially when Shadow suddenly turned against us. Like, for a second there, I thought he actually wanted to join Eggman.” He looked away from Tails and thought about it for a bit. Suddenly his mind flashed Shadow kissed Sonic on the lips. His whole face heated up and his heart raced faster. It hadn’t even lasted for more than a split second. It wasn’t that he was unimpressed by the kiss or that he had an interest in someone else. But it felt so nice to be touched so softly, so gently… Sonic shook his head and went back to reality. This was not the time to think about Shadow, he needed to focus on getting out of here safely.
“You okay, man?” asked Knuckles.
“Hmm? Oh, yeah, I’m fine.” Sonic said, scratching behind his head while he tried to hide his blush. ‘Stop being stupid, Sonic!’ he thought reprimanding himself.
“We’re about to arrive at the ARK for about less than 20 minutes,” said Tails. “So get ready, I’m going to land soon, then we should start looking for a way to get in.”
Knuckles pumped his fist into the air. “Alright! I can't wait to get in there!” He chuckled. “Just thinking about punching Eggman in the face makes my blood boil, you know that?” he grinned mischievously. Sonic snorted, “Don't tell me you’re going to try something stupid again! Last time, we almost died, you know!” he scolded Knuckles.
Knuckles rolled his eyes, “Yeah, yeah. Don't remind me. I almost got you both killed! If it weren’t for Amy stopping us, you two would be dead meat!” he said sternly.
“Hey, that's what friends are for! I wouldn’t want to be a robot forever, either,” said Sonic.
“And that’s exactly why you’re our friend, idiot!” said Knuckles, hitting Sonic in the shoulder lightly. Sonic winced at Knuckles’ force, then grinned sheepishly. Knuckles laughed. “Sorry, man. I didn’t mean to hit you that hard," he apologized.
"Heh, it's fine, Knux," said Sonic rubbing his shoulder. Sonic felt uneasy, but couldn't say what the feeling was exactly. Maybe he was afraid of Shadow or not. ‘This is ridiculous! I’m just having trouble thinking straight, that’s all! And he kissed me back in the jungle. What’s wrong with me? Why am I thinking about Shadow? Am I getting sick or something?’ he thought.
“What’s wrong?” asked Knuckles.
“Nothing, Knux, everything’s good. Just a little tired, I guess. Uh, I should go clear my head for a bit. You know, before Tails lands,” Sonic said, standing up. He quickly left the control room, leaving Knuckles alone with Tails. Knuckles and Tails stared at each other for a few seconds, neither one knowing what to say or do next.
Sonic went inside the bathroom, ran over to the sink, and splashed cold water on his face. 'I gotta relax. I have things to do.' Sonic sighed deeply and took a few breaths. After some calming meditation, he looked into the mirror. He could see his face flushed red, which was not usual. 'Am I really blushing?' wondered Sonic. With the sound of the heartbeat coming from his chest, he placed his hand on his chest as well. The pulsating was strong. 'Is that normal? Do people feel this way? Is that possible?' Sonic looked down at his hands. 'My heart's pounding like crazy. Is it because I like Shadow? No, he's the enemy. But does that mean he also likes me?' Sonic looked back at his reflection, his eyes wide open. 'I must be going insane!' he said to himself. ‘Why am I so confused?!'
Sonic moved his hand to his member and began to stroke it. He moaned. 'No, that's not right. I shouldn't do this.' Sonic frowned. 'Fuck! Why am I doing this? I hate him! I don't like him! He's evil! He wants to destroy everyone!' he exclaimed, raising his voice. His mind flashed again when Shadow kissed him on the lips and wrapped his arm around Sonic’s waist.
'Shit! I'm losing it! This isn't happening! I hate him! I want him to stay away! God damn, I don't wanna think about this! Ugh, it's driving me crazy! I'm gonna lose it! I can't...!" His hand pumping his cock fast became harder. His breathing sped up as well.
'I... I want him... I want him so badly...' Sonic let out a soft moan, unable to take anymore pressure. "Ugh, fuck..." he muttered as he came. A couple of tears escaped his closed eyes as he laid his head against the cool surface of the sink.
--
A few moments later, Amy came to the control room carrying a tray with tea, cookies, juice, and biscuits. "Hey, guys. Where's Sonic?" she asked.
"He said he had to go clear his head," Knuckles replied. "I wonder what's wrong with him? Is he alright?"
“I don't know. He’s been acting kinda strange since he woke up today. He didn’t sleep very well last night, either.” Amy replied, handing the tray to Knuckles and sitting on the chair opposite him. “But I have no idea what's wrong with him."
"That's weird. Do you think he's afraid of Shadow?" asked Tails.
"Of course not! He's never afraid of anyone!" scoffed Amy. "Besides, who said he would be afraid of the guy? He's the bravest guy I've ever known. Always willing to risk his own life to save others. That's what he's always done, and I bet that's what he'll continue to do until the day he dies!"
“That might be true, but I'm concerned about Sonic,” said Knuckles.
"Me too," agreed Tails. "Maybe we should go check on him. And we're almost there at the ARK," he suggested.
"I'll go check on Sonic if he's okay," Amy went out of the control room to find Sonic and knocked on the bathroom door. "Sonic, are you okay?" she asked.
Sonic jolted at the sound of Amy’s voice from the door outside. "Uh, yeah I'm fine. Why do you ask?" he answered, sounding nervous.
Amy narrowed her eyes at him. She knew there was something that had happened there. Something that made him look flustered. "Because you've been in the bathroom for any minutes. Are you sure you're alright?" she asked.
"Yeah, totally fine. I’ll come out now, okay?” Sonic replied. He didn’t sound completely convincing though.
“Okay. Tails said we're almost at the ARK. So we should leave soon,” said Amy.
"Sure thing, Ames!" Sonic smiled, trying to act natural. He heard her footsteps and walked away from the door. Sonic looked at his hand which was covered with his own cum. He groaned in disgust. He rushed to the shower and quickly washed himself off.
'Damn it! Why did I do that?!' he cried in thought. 'Why'd I have to touch myself? Why did I have to think about Shadow while I was touching myself? Fuck!' he growled. 'If I keep doing that, I'm going to end up in trouble again.' He shook his head.
'I have to get my mind off of Shadow or else it's gonna be worse. I have to focus on finding a way to get in and stop Eggman.' He got out of the shower and dried himself and exited the bathroom and headed toward the control room.
After checking on Tails, Knuckles, and Amy sat at the control panel while Sonic stood beside him, staring blankly ahead.
"You okay?" asked Knuckles.
"Yeah, I'm fine. What's going on?" asked Sonic.
"We're here at the ARK! And look at this." Tails gestured to the large hemispherical meteorite that rested at the bottom of the laser cannon underneath. The team wowed at the sight. It was quite breathtaking, especially the view from the top of the ship. They had only seen pictures from above before, and they were certainly not prepared for anything like this.
"Wow, it must be Gerald Robotnik who built this ARK 50 years ago," commented Sonic. "It looks like some kind of huge spacecraft."
"Okay, I'm going to find the entrance and--" Suddenly the spaceship was hit by something, causing them to collapse. The sound of the alarm blaring filled the air and red light started flashing.
"What's going on?!" screamed Amy.
"I think we hit something!" yelled Tails, trying to control the console.
"How are we supposed to get out of this situation?!" asked Sonic frantically.
"We're about to crash! Just hang on something!" yelled Tails, trying to pull the joystick back to its original position.
The ship started to shake violently, sending the crew all around, screaming in shock. The lights flickered on and off repeatedly as the sound of the alarms kept echoing all around them, growing louder every time. The sound of the alarms echoed loudly through the walls of the ship and created deafening sounds throughout the whole ship.
A meteor smashed the rocket in half, Knuckled was separated from the team. His screams could be heard loud and clear.
"Knuckles!!" screamed Sonic desperately while holding onto the seat.
"Shit, I can't control it! Brace yourselves!" yelled Tails.
The crew screamed in terror, grabbing onto anything they could as the shaking continued and the floor started to fall under them. Everything around them started cracking as pieces of debris flew toward them. Tails pulled hard on the joystick to try and regain control. However, it was useless. The ship was crashing and Tails couldn't do anything to save them. He noticed an emergency button on the panel, so he quickly pressed it.
The ship stopped falling as the force pushed them upward. The ship stopped falling after a moment, but they remained suspended several meters in the air. The ship landly crashed into the entrance of the ARK. When it was all over, Tails exhaled in relief and looked over his shoulder to see his friends were okay.
"Is everyone okay?" asked Tails.
"I think so, but Knuckles..." said Amy worriedly.
Sonic comforted Amy, "Don't worry. He'll be okay." He turned his attention back to the controls. They slowly descended toward the floor, landing safely.
"Hoo, what a rough landing. We're lucky to be alive," chuckled Sonic.
Tails gave a sigh of relief. "Yes, we are. This ship was damaged pretty badly. We have to get going though," he stood up.
Sonic and Amy nodded as they went through the ARK to the room at the end of the tunnel.

Chapter 42.
A new sunny wonderful morning. Outside the window, the voices of birds and the rustle of leaves could be heard, which was occasionally stirred by the wind. Soon it became even warmer outside, because the wind had subsided, and there was even more comfortable and joyful vibes on the street...
At this time, Bendy, having cleaned all the rooms, went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. After a while everything was ready, and Bendy came out of the kitchen to call the others for breakfast. Entering Lara's room, the demon noticed his beloved standing near the window and watching the scenery outside. Bendy came closer to her and, hugging her tightly, said, "Good morning, Laura!... Did you sleep well?..."
"Wonderfully..."
"Glad to hear... Then maybe we'll go to the kitchen, have breakfast?..."
"Okay, I'll be right there..."
"Whatever you say, honey... I'll call the others..."
Soon everyone gathered in the kitchen and had breakfast, talked a little on various topics. After that, everyone went back to their rooms. The imps were reading interesting travel-related magazines, and then Bendy saw some impressive and stunning places...
"Larry, look at what interesting and amazing places are depicted here!..." he exclaimed and smiled. "So many interesting plants and natural landscapes..."
"Really nice places..." she answered, looking at them.
"If you want, we can go there with friends!... Any day you want..."
"I don't even know when I would like to go..."
"How about today?... Such a sunny warm day outside, I think the weather is also good in those dimensions where these natural landscapes are located..."
"Then let's go..."
"As you wish, sunshine... I'm going to ask Boris and Alice to come with us..."
Bendy went out into the corridor and went to the mechanic's room. Entering there, Bendy saw Boris and Alice fixing some parts, talking.
"Alice, I promise, when we're done, we'll do whatever you want..." Boris said.
"I hope we'll be free soon..." Alice replied.
"Of course, pumpkin, we're almost done..."
"Maybe I can help you?..." Bendy asked.
"No, you don't need to..." Boris replied, going over the details. "We are already at the 'finish line'."
"All right then." Bendy looked at the mechanism that needed to be repaired, and continued. "When you are free, you can go with us to amazing and very interesting places... Lara and I have already chosen where exactly we will go..."
"Great, then we'll join you when we are done," Boris answered and looked at Alice. "Do you want to go, right?..."
"Of course, I'll be glad..."
"Okay, we'll start packing later... We'll meet the hallway after we're ready."
"Agreed," Bendy smiled. "We're going to get ready now, too... See you soon!..."
Bendy left the room and returned to Lara's room. He saw her leafing through a magazine and smiled.
"Love, our friends have agreed to go with us, so now I'm going to pack the right things..."
"Okay... Will you take some collections of sudoku?..."
"Of course, Laurie, I was just going to take it... I think it'll be interesting for us to solve them there... Although, with you, any activity becomes excellent and impressive... Because you are very interesting and wonderful creature..."
"Thank you, Bendy, you too..."
"Thank you very much, dear..."
Bendy hugged Lara tightly and kissed her on the cheek. Lara smiled and Bendy, seeing this, beamed with happiness. After that, he went to his room for a backpack. He entered Lara's room and began to collect her things and accessories, watching what she was doing. Soon all the stuff were collected, the devils were ready to go. They went out into the corridor and, seeing that Boris and Alice weren't there yet, discussed a little what they would see very soon.
A little later Boris and Alice also went out into the corridor and saw Bendy and Lara.
The friends went outside and saw how wonderful it was in their garden: the sun shone brightly on the foliage of trees and other plants; the voices of birds could be heard from afar; the wind sometimes shook the vegetation.
"Oh, what a wonderful landscape opens up in our garden!..." Bendy exclaimed. "Such a wonderful sunny day..."
"That's for sure..." Boris replied. "It's marvelous here too..."
"We'll find time to admire our natural landscape later. Now we should go..." Bendy said.
The friends walked a little further and stopped. Bendy snapped his fingers - and they all immediately moved to the right place.
The view so amazed and surprised friends that for a while they just looked at such a wonderful landscape with admiration, a smile on their faces. There were fields of bright colors of different shades everywhere: in the first row they were lilac, in the second - pink, in the third - yellow, and so on. There were trees of the most unusual and pleasant colours: pale blue, purple, light orange and some other wonderful shades.
"Wow, what an astonishing landscape!..." Bendy exclaimed. "So many delightful, incredible plants are gathered in one place..."
"Spectacular..." Lara said. "What unusual colors the plants have..."
"Yes, such a place is really worth visiting, more than once..." Alice noticed.
"Sure..." Boris chimed in. "We have never seen such a magical place..."
"That's why we went here," Bendy replied and smiled. "Let's go a little further, see what else is exotic here..."
Friends went a little further and discovered bright interesting flowerbeds with different flowers behind the flower field. As pals approached, Bendy picked a bouquet and, looking tenderly at Lara, said, "For you, sunshine..."
"Thank you..." Lara replied and smiled.
Bendy also smiled and hugged Lara carefully with one arm. Boris also collected a bouquet for Alice a little later and, handing it to her, said, "To you, Alice... When we leave this place, you'll have flowers as memories..."
"Yes, I think they can be planted in the garden later..." Alice replied.
"I think so too... By the way, Bendy, I forgot to ask what's the name of this place?..."
"It's called the Valley of Flowers, the rarest and most amazing types of flowers grow here." Bendy explained.
"Yes, there are really a lot of interesting plants in this place." Boris replied.
"The atmosphere here is so cozy and calming." Alice supported.
"It's nice for me to walk here..." said Lara.
"I'm glad you like it here," Bendy smiled. "Then we can walk here for a while longer, and we move to another superb, splendid place..."
The friends continued their journey through a bright field dotted with flowers. Soon the guys reached the trees of the most interesting and beautiful shades, and Bendy said," What magnificent trees!... All the leaves are painted in such wonderful colours..."
"Yes, I haven't seen such trees yet..." Boris was surprised.
"Maybe because we haven't been to such enchanting places yet. Although, we've been to different impressive dimensions, of course..." Bendy replied.
"Perhaps it's time for us to go to another dimension?..." asked Lara.
"Yes, I'd also like to go to the next place..." Alice said.
"What are we waiting for, then?..." Boris smiled.
"The next place is called the Cote d'Azur." Bendy said. "The whole coast will be covered with sea flowers and plants. So, let's go take a look!..."
Friends returned back to the field of flowers and teleported.
The view was quite fascinating, charming: the bright blue sea glittered azure and blue in the sun and was surrounded by plants of unusual shapes and colors: some of them resembled corals; others were like violets. The sand on the shore was golden in color, there were many beautiful shells.
"Wow, this place is also impressive and excellent!..." Bendy exclaimed, looking around the shore and the sea. "We'll to come closer to explore all the plants..."
Pals headed closer to the shore and soon discovered miraculous plants; what was most exciting, they all seemed solid in appearance, however, friends felt the buds were liquid once guys touched them. This surprised and delighted my friends immeasurably. The magicians noticed a few more phenomena, which hugely surprised them.
After a while, Bendy took chairs, a table and a beach umbrella out of his backpack.
"Maybe you want to get some rest...?" asked the imps. "Meanwhile, I'll cook you lunch."
"Okay, thanks," Boris replied. "A little rest wouldn't hurt."
Soon the friends had meals and continued to do various interesting things on the coast: Boris began reading articles in the newspaper; Bendy collected shells for his beloved; Lara and Alice drew new outfits in their notebooks. After a while, the friends decided to swim in the warm transparent sea and had so much fun.
Evening came. Darkness covered the surroundings; the friends discussed what a magical day would stay in their memories. Boris remarked, "Of course, everything was wonderful today, but we should go back to the studio... And tomorrow we'll continue our journey..."
"Why return home?... We have tents and a lot of interesting collections of sudoku for tonight..."
"Well, then we'll stay," Boris smiled.
"Let's have a cozy evening here!" Bendy replied.
The devil set up tents, and friends began to solve sudoku and other puzzles. Since Bendy finished solving any sudpku in the collection earlier than the others, he helped Lara solve her puzzles. Soon guys, after talking about various interesting topics, went to their tents.
Boris and Alice were talking about the passing day.
"Alice, did you enjoy today?... Or did you want to visit a couple more places?..."
"No, no, I liked everything... Today was a wonderful day..."
"Great you think so... I think it's time for us to go rest... Good night, darling..."
"Good night, honey..."
Boris kissed Alice on the forehead and she smiled.
Bendy and Lara talked about various topics for some time, and then the young man said to the demoness, "Lau, I'm very glad you liked everything about today... This is the most important thing... Tomorrow we'll see even more extraordinary, fantastic places..."
"I think they'll be wonderful as well... Thank you for today's trip, Bendy..."
"Anything for you, my precious... Glad you're and our friends are happy... Princess, would you like to go to bed now?..."
"Yes, I would..."
"Then let me cover you... Good night, Laura..."
"Good night, Bendy... Tomorrow we'll see even more fascinating places..."
"Of course, sunny... Sweet dreams to you..."
Bendy kissed Lara on the cheek. Soon they fell asleep, and the dark blue sky covered a wide horizon...
The next morning, Bendy woke up first and, seeing that Lara was still asleep, smiled and watching her, wondering what dreams she might have had... Soon the imp woke up, and the demon said, "Good morning, Lara... What dreams did you have today, princess?..."
"Wonderful... And you?..."
"Also magical... Would you like to have breakfast now?..."
"Of course..."
"As you wish, dear..."
Bendy came out of the tent and began to prepare breakfast for Lara and the others. Soon Boris and Alice woke up. They, like Lara, smelled a pleasant smell, and then Bendy called them for breakfast. They ate and talked a little on various topics. Then Bendy started packing things into his rucksack.
"Now we can go," said the imp. "The Alley of Bushes awaits..."
"I hope we'll visit Cote d'Azur again some day..." Lara said.
"Of course we will, honey!... We always come back to such wonderful places, and we really liked it here..."
Friends walked a little further from the blue coast and, looking back, smiled. Then they moved a little further away; Bendy snapped his fingers - pals immediately moved to the right place.
The alley was spectacular, goregous: all the leaves on the bushes were of the most exotic colors and shapes, looked like flowers. However, the magicians didn't notice the flowers themselves in that dimension - everything was dotted with shrubs, near which several trees grew.
"Oh, what a marvelous dimension!..." Bendy exclaimed and smiled. "So many wondrous shrubs here, all the leaves look so much like flowers..."
Pals approached the plants and looked at the shape of the leaves of each bush - they differed considerably.
"Oh, there are even leaves in the form of stars..." Boris was surprised. "Interesting..."
"Yes, and these leaves are very similar to rose flowers! ..." Bendy smiled. "How peculiar..."
"Enchanting bushes..." Lara said.
"That's for sure. We haven't seen anything like them yet." Alice replied.
Bendy noticed that Lara liked the bush with lilac leaves that resembled lilies the most, and he collected a bouquet for her from those very leaves.
"This is for you, Larry..." Bendy said, giving her a bouquet. "It doesn't consist of flowers, but hope you like..."
"Of course I do... Thank you..." Lara answered.
"Glad it brought you positive emotions..." Bendy smiled. "Dearie, it's delightful we went on a trip, isn't it?... We have already explored so many excellent, brilliant landscapes..."
"Such an amazing adventure..."
"And most importantly - you and our friends liked all the places... And we learned a lot of interesting things about them..."
"Thanks to your stories..."
"I'm telling a lot of new and impressive things in order to brighten up your day..."
The imp bent his head to the girl's face and kissed her on the cheek. The devils joined others and continued their walk...
However, soon it was time to go to a new place. The friends looked around the bushes and started walking in the opposite direction, back.
"What a wonderful place..." Bendy said, smiling. "We'll definitely come here again!... The next place we're going to is called the Field of Light - all the plants there are made of some elements."
Bendy snapped his fingers - the guys teleported. And they began to examine the view around...

"You okay?" Itto asked, going inside your office "Sorry if I like — kinda forced you into telling that story? Did I?"
You sighed and then smiled at him "No, Itto, you didn't. Don't feel responsible, I wanted to tell the story but I just wasn't ready to complete it yet, sorry"
"No problemo boss!" He has his usual big grin now. He can be cute sometimes "You tired?"
"I'am .. but I don't feel like resting" You rub your forehead. Itto jogged towards you then grabbed your hand, he pulled you out of the office.
"Itto! Where are you taking me?" You asked, keeping up with him. His hand was so much bigger than yours, you feel safe for some reason.
He looked back, smiling widely "You'll see!!"
❀
"Ta-da!" He said, grinning widely as usual. He took you to a small spot near Wangshu Inn.
You gasped at how beautiful the stars were. The spot is actually enough just for one person, seeing how big Itto is, you were both skin to skin.
You blushed, realizing how close you two were. You think of him as a close friend but maybe that's just because you work together.
"T-Thank you" You stuttered "I'll cherish this place an go here whenever I feel stressed out" you smile sweetly. Guess he didn't expect it.
Itto was confused, for some reason his palms were really sweaty, he was nervous, he's trying his best to not move, his heart started beating fast. He doesn't know what any of these mean. He gulped, smiling nervously back at you and just said "Y-Yeah .. make sure"
Ever since that day, Itto makes sure to visit that place every now and then, expecting you but he would always be disappointed.
You became even busier because of Scaramouche, that one guy who always complains. He's being a real asshole.
"Sir. We only serve meals that are in the menu" You tell him, sighing.
Childe was so annoyed at this point "I've been trying to tell him for the last hour! God! It's like he's not here every day! Scaramouche, you punk, you go here everyday, you must know basic rules by now"
Kaeya was there too. He's at the kitchen when it's day and at the bar when it's night "Or just ban him forever"
Scaramouche just laughed "What kind of place is this? You don't have off menu meals? Pathetic. Also, who lets non workers hang out at the kitchen?"
Childe's and your eyebrows furrowed. Obviously, he was doing this on purpose .. just like always.
You lean in to whisper to Childe "Just serve him whatever and say it's an off menu meal"
Childe smirked and nodded. You finally left. You flicked your tongue when finally out of their sight "I oughta do something about that little turd"
"Who's the turd?" Thoma asked, your eyes widen in surprise, you didn't mean to bad mouth a customer in front of someone. Then Thoma continued "If it's Scaramouche then I agree"
You giggle, nervousness leaving your body "Yeah. He's a real pain in the a"
"Yeah. Anyway, boss, I've finished decorating the rooms except for Xiao's. You know how it is"
You nod "That was fast Thoma"
"Is there anything I can help you with?" He asked
You ponder for a second then answer "The stalls and parade stuff are almost done with Itto and his gang helping. I guess Zhongli, Diluc and Childe has their own stuff but it isn't that big. I guess — we're really done"
"What?! No! Give me something! I can decorate the whole inn" He said, eager to do more.
"Well, the gang's doing that too" You rub your cheek, trying to think of something "Hey, you're good at sewing?"
"I can do it! Just tell me boss!" His eyes sparkled. He was like a cute little puppy, leaning closer to you.
You can't help but giggle "Do you mind making us costumes? If it's not too much, of course"
Thoma nodded "I've got ideas already! Thanks boss!" he ran away, waving bye. He's really cute and bubbly, you can never imagine Thoma doing something vulgar. He's just that pure and innocent for you.
Since you basically have nothing else to do at the moment, you decide to go to that spot Itto told you about.
❀
"Boss! You're here!"
Aaah! That grin! Your face flushed in a moment. You cleared your throat "You're here"
"Are you stressed out?" He asked, you did say you'll go here when stressed but that's not the case.
You shook your head no "Just wanted to get some air" you hesitated to go at the spot because last time you two were so close. But Itto reached his hand out, you took it, he helped you get up with him.
Your faces were so close to each other "Hi"
"Hey" Itto was blushing and you were sure you were too. You both quickly sat down and averted your gaze with each other.
It was quiet for a moment. Both of you not wanting to break the silence because of embarrassment.
The mood got even intense when Itto's hand touched yours.
"S-Sorry!!" He immediately said, finally you looked at each other again, Itto couldn't handle it anymore "I-I better leave!" and with that he ran away.
You touched your hand that he held earlier "Oh Itto"
❀
You were in your room, trying to think "The day of the event is near .. have we already done everything?"
You think of everybody, but suddenly you felt yourself blush "Oh my gosh, have I done something terrible?" you think of 'those' moments. You touch your face and feel your whole body in heat.
You were craving for those times. That time with Diluc .. Kaeya and Childe .. It was surreal and spontaneous. Was it a mistake?
Meanwhile ...
In a matter of seconds, you were touching yourself, hungry for more, you never realized how good it felt back then. You just know you want more today.
"Was that weird?" Itto asked himself, walking towards your room to apologize "I must have weirded her out!!" he panicked, scratching his head in frustration "If I stayed there I would've kissed her! That's gonna be weirder right?"
Itto sighed, finally in front of your room "Alright, Arataki Itto, you can do this, you are the man" he whispered to himself but before opening the door, he heard something.
He didn't dare utter a word. He held the doorknob and slowly opened it, his eyes widen. You were masturbating, moaning loudly. He knows he should leave but he couldn't take his eyes off of you.
He started breathing heavily, trying to fight the urge to go in and help you himself. His mind went blank, he knew his cock was already hard, seeing you naked and touching yourself, moaning. He wished he could make you moan like that.
He slowly reached down for his dick, at first he just started rubbing it. You were trembling from the pleasure of rubbing your own clit. Itto pulled his zipper down and started stroking his erect cock. He looked side by side in the hallways and nobody was there. Your room was pretty isolated, lucky for him.
"Fuck" He whispered to himself, completely focused on watching you masturbate "I-I can't —"
You were so engrossed in trying to fulfill yourself that you don't notice Itto. You just wanted to feel the pleasure.
Itto stopped his strokes and pushed the door open, his face red and his breathing was rough. His cock was still out, massive and erect.
You were taken aback, you immediately covered yourself with sheets and covered your eyes "I-Itto?!"
You feel him crawling in bed. His face super close with yours "Can — I help?" even though he was so eager to just kiss you then and there, he still asked.
You were still out of it, you look at his cock and gulp. He was so big, you had no idea. You were trying to catch your breath. For a moment, the two of you just stared into each other's eyes. That led to rough kissing.
Your nipples were rubbing against his clothes a little, your legs wrapping around his waist, pleasuring yourself wasn't enough, thank God he was here. You take his clothes off and rub his chest.
His big hands touching your face, pulling you deeper into the kiss. You never realize how big he really was until this, he was on top of you, naked.
"I-Itto..." You moaned softly, trying to breathe from the kiss "Let me breathe—"
"S-Sorry" Itto muttered, you felt his breath on your face, even though he was much bigger than you, he was still gentle, he continued "It's just .. you're so .. irresistible. I can't help myself" his cheeks were red, he was honestly adorable at the moment.
You change positions with him "Then .. should I take the lead?" you're now on top of him, he was slightly surprised but he made it happen anyway.
What are you doing y/n? You keep asking yourself, you were out of control, wanting more ever since with Diluc. Once you get to it, you just can't stop. The moment controls you and Itto happens to be here.
"B-Boss" Itto moaned softly, he was huge but he acts so innocent. You decide to tease him a little bit, your bad thoughts going away.
You lean in closer and lick his chest, both your hands above his nipples, rubbing his muscles. He couldn't help but held onto your hair, gripping it tightly.
You feel his dick twitch on your crotch as you grind above him. It feels good knowing he was like this because of you. It feels good hearing him moan your name.
Your tongue went to his nipple, you stared at him while doing so "Not so tough now, leader?" you tease him. He couldn't even respond, he was losing his mind, grunting and moaning. He never felt this way before.
"Q-Quit teasing or else.." He muttered in between his breaths. His large hands rubbing your waist to your ass. Your licks went upwards to his neck, biting it softly "F—uck" he was breathing heavily, gripping your ass as he moves his hips, grinding.
You pulled back to face him, you kiss his nose and giggle "Do you like it?" you ask, this was the first time you tried taking the lead, you had no idea if you did good.
"A lot" he whispered before pulling you in a kiss, he immediately entered his tongue, his other hand moving your hips back and forth on his cock "Let me put it in" he whispered before switching places with you, your kiss never breaking.
You were out of breath in no time ... again. He started positioning himself, completely intoxicated, never wanting his lips to be away from yours.
"I-Itto.." You called, he kept kissing you preventing you from talking but you manage to squeeze out the words while holding tight to his arm "Be gentle please"
Itto nodded, his kisses went down to your neck. Your arms wrapped around his head, moaning uncontrollably.
You feel his tip go inside you, you scream but at the same time he starts licking your nipples to make the pain bearable.
"I-Itto!" You screamed, your nails sinking in his shoulders. He went even slower. Just when he was almost all in, you both heard a camera noise.
You both sat up and covered yourself in sheets. You look at the door, noticing that there was someone but that someone immediately ran away after you knew they were there.
You and Itto look at each other. Itto immediately got dressed, regretting that he didn't lock the door earlier. He immediately left to find the person while you bury yourself in your bed.
"What the fuck was that? Was someone there?" You whisper to yourself, feeling overwhelmed all pf a sudden "Shit shit! There WAS someone, I saw the camera. I'm fucking doomed"
❀
"Shit!" Itto panted, running around, finding the guy "Show yourself!!" he shouted while fixing his clothes "Fuck, she's definitely going to ignore me"
❀
Days passed. Everything that happened that night felt like a dream for Itto. You both never caught the person who had the camera but at the same time no videos were leaked, nobody knew anything.
You can't forget about it though but you're too embarrassed to speak to Itto about it. You work with each other, you talk with each other but the awkwardness is there.
To be Continued ❀

Recalling Your First Time Dry Humping Harry (SMUT) /blurb/
AN: originally, this was going to be just a normal blurb where i wrote how Harry & Reader dry humped for the first time but i realized as i was writing it, that it sounded as though someone was reading it from a book or diary and that's where i got the idea to turn it into a fictional piece of the readers diary.
This story contains: mentions of sex, dry humping, orgasms, making out
{ boyfriend!harry - present-day husband!harry - present-day dad!harry - insert from readers diary }
word count: 950
Reading from your diary, you recall your first time dry humping with your then boyfriend Harry and now husband Harry.
It honestly happened in the heat of the moment. Harry and I were fresh into dating. About three months or so. We had just finished up watching a movie on his sofa. The living room was only lite with the low hues of a lamp. I somehow ended up straddling Harry's body while he sat in an up right position. At first, we started kissing like we always did. Gentle and soft touches to the others lips. But then Harry took the brave step and decided to add a bit of tongue.
I remember internally freaking out but also felt like my whole body was on fire. It was the hottest thing I'd ever done. I was very inexperienced at the time. Only ever kissed Harry and had never went further then a simple kiss. But his tongue felt so natural in my mouth. It didn't feel intruding or gross. It was warm and inviting.
Harry knew I was not ready for anything too sexual yet. He knew I was waiting for the right time. I'd told him I wanted him to take my virginity, so that wasn't a question in his mind. But he just didn't know how far was too far or what I did feel comfortable with. And when I started subconsciously dry humping his lap, Harry pulled back from the heated kiss and looked me directly in my eyes.
Harry asked me what I was truly comfortable with and I told him as long as it's not actual sex or mouths near our lower regions, than I felt fine with anything. So that lead to me dry humping his hardened cock, on his couch, at twelve o'clock that night. I rocked my hips back and forth, over his skinny jeans and we each moaned into the others mouths. Me because the sensation felt great on my clit and Harry because the pressure I was applying to his clothed cock.
We went back to making out. Harry cradling my face with his big hands. Me holding onto his muscular shoulders for stability. Our crotches grinding into each others. It felt so good. The best I'd ever felt in my life. My mind went dizzy and it felt like I drowning in a puddle of sexual euphoria and we weren't even naked.
Eventually, our making out turned into more so heavy breathing into the others mouth. Neither one of us could concentrate on the movements it took to actually kiss someone. When our faces were only an inch away, Harry and I just stared into each others eyes. Eye contact that could kill. And for some reason, though my face started to squint and scrunch up due to my clit being stimulated in my jeans from dry humping Harry, I wasn't getting embarrassed. It made me even more aroused seeing Harry watch me being pleasured in front of him. Or on him I should say.
The eye contact slowly diminished when Harry couldn't keep his head up anymore and it started falling back on the sofa. His hands fell down and Harry grabbed onto my hips, helping me to grind with rhythm. I remember I wanted to be close to him again, so I fell forward gently and pressed our clothed chests together. Then I laid my head on Harry's shoulder and closed my eyes, breathing heavy.
After a good ten minutes of grinding on each other, we both came. Beings it was my first time coming in front of someone else, I didn't fully let myself let go. I held my loud moans in and tried to stop the inevitable shaking of my thighs, but like I said, shaking thighs was inevitable. Well for me it at least.
Harry came with me. All his hot and sticky cum erupting from his dick head and wetting his tight boxers, located in his jeans. His chest was heaving hard, making my body rise up and off his body with each inhale and exhale of breath he gave. His mouth was slightly parted and eyes closed tightly. He had never felt better Harry thought at the time.
Yeah Harry looked forward to the day I wanted to go all the way and have actual sex, but he told me he would have waited a thousand years if I wanted. And that's what he did. Well not exactly the thousand years part, but the waiting. We didn't end up having sex until our year and a half anniversary. Harry made it so specials for me, taking every thing slow and sensual.
And look at us now. We've been together ten years and married for eight. We have four beautiful babies (not so baby anymore). We are very much in love and have sex all the time. Very good sex I might add. And every once in a while I'll look back in my diary, what I'm reading and writing in now, and reminisce on mine and Harry's first. Our first kiss. Our first time dry humping. Our first time having oral sex together. Our first time have intercourse together. Everything we have done, I have wrote in my diary book and when we're old and gray, we will be in a nursing home and we'll take turns reading each other chapters out of this book that holds our lives greatest memories.

How to get Hit-listed by a Stonehide Lawachurl (High School AU!)
Part 6 of the highschool au
Parts: 1 2 3 4 5
Pairing: Childe x fem!reader
Synopsis: Childe’s a menace to everyone when playing dodgeball. Even as his new girlfriend, you’re no exception to his affinity for raising hell during the most tranquil of circumstances.
Warnings: Swearing, bad humor, and absolutely horrid spelling mistakes.
Words: 5.3k
Note: Longest chapter yet sheeeesh 🗿
Negotiation is an art.
Childe, or "Tartaglia" has utilized the art of negotiations in his daily life. Whether that be scamming the ninth graders with fake weed, or convincing the teachers why he doesn't deserve detention for injecting random fluids from the chem department into the school's resident pet frog.
All in all, by becoming an expert in the field of negotiations, Childe is nothing if not a master, tongue silver and smooth as he takes on a new opponent.
Which is why he dutifully negotiates with you on this Monday morning in front of the History classroom, getting down on one knee and pulling out a—
"I hope to Barbatos you aren't proposing Childe," You hiss, panicked eyes landing on the velvet box he's pulling out. "Considering that we're sixteen and still in highschool."
As if remembering those meagre details, Childe gulps and shoves the box back into his pocket. "Uhhh yeah, I was just, tying my shoelaces?" It comes out as a question.
You let out a sigh of relief, overlooking how he undoes his shoe laces just to do them all over again.
The ring burns in his pocket as he gets back up.
"Why did you call me here?" You ask, hand on your hip, foot impatiently tapping. The tap tap tap isn't because of impatience though, it's because you need something to cover the nervous palpitations of your heart.
He gives you a vicious smile, sinister enough to shake the bones of anyone who's observing, opens his daring mouth to show the imaginary sharpness of his teeth. Then with the confidence of about a hundred shirtless tiktok boys, he finally demands:
"If you don't become my girlfriend, I will kill—"
"Yeah sure thing." You answer before he can finish, soft smile growing.
Childe chuckles evilly, "I knew you'd say that, but I've come prep—wait a minute." He snaps out of his villain origin phase, stumbles back a bit, then his eyebrows are furrowing in confusion. "Did you just say yes?"
You nod, cheeks flaring up. "Don't make me repeat it." Then you look away, too embarrassed to see his reaction.
For a second, Childe's internal conflict following the chain of this event causes him to temporarily malfunction, and all he can do it stare at you in amazement.
It's only when you tell him to stop staring and jump off the school roof is when he snaps out of his daze, a grin festering on his face.
He lunges straight at you, giving you no time to deflect him as he wraps his bone crushing arms around you, then lands a soft smooch on your forehead.
"Let go of me you idiot!" You barely wheeze out, light headed not only because of your lungs being squeezed like oranges, but also because of the sloppy kiss he's delivered so ungracefully.
He does so reluctantly, and you're unamused, wiping the stickiness off your forehead with a sleeve as he steps back.
"Ew what the fuck?" You say, glaring at him. "What's wrong with you?"
He completely ignores you, giddy with excitement. "Ah girly, you have no idea how long I've wanted to do that. I can't wait to introduce you to my parents and eat lunch together and kiss each other during break—"
"Slow down." You tell him, as red as a tomato towards all his suggestions. "We've barely started dating."
"Oh," Childe stops momentarily, then nods in agreement. "You're right. We should start small. How about I walk you to class?"
"We're already in front of class." You nudge your head towards the classroom, and catch Zhongli and Venti peeking from the side of the door, trying not to be obvious.
You narrow your eyes at them threateningly.
Childe tugs your arm, lovingly looking you up and down. "Let's walk to class together anyways. In a circle."
A complete waste of time, yet it's impossible to say no to the face he's making.
Before you guys depart he suddenly stops, gasping loudly, remembers something important. "I have to make a quick phone call."
Childe speed dials Scaramouche, and the latter picks up annoyed, answers the phone with muffled sounds in the back. Something that sounds a bit like pleading and whimpering.
He then mutters something that forces dread into your system. "You can release the hostages."
You hear Scaramouche groan on the other end, muttering a "such a pain in my ass", but choose not to question it immediately.
As soon as the phone call is done and you're back by his side, you point at his phone questioningly. "What hostages Childe?"
He gives you a close eyed smile, taking the fifth.
"What hostages Childe?" You repeat again weakly.
—
First period goes by smoothly for the most part. Lisa, your so called best friend, once again is bought off like a corrupted politician by your new boyfriend. She sits far away from you, leaving you without any defences against the menace that dotes on you a bit too much.
Throughout class, all Childe does is score Venti's colourful pens, and then writes you annoying little love notes, using the expert origami skills he's learnt from Anthon to deliver them to you.
Despite the threat of distraction these notes pose, the corners of your lips can't help but tug upwards at his enthusiasm and attempt at poetry.
Zhongli makes sure not to ask you two any questions the entire class, leaving you to your own accord.
Lunch comes around soon enough, and your usual table of Diluc, Jean, Kazuha, and Lisa is disturbed by the torpedo that is Childe, and he brings collateral with him.
Kaeya whole-heartedly ceases the opportunity to sit near his stoic statue of a brother purely with the intention to annoy the premature crap out of him, but one look from the redhead sends the chicken-shit right back where he came from.
When Childe forcefu—lovingly feeds you the smiley fries and dinosaur nuggets his stunning mom packed him, Diluc looks just about ready to hurl.
Lisa winks at you two, Kazuha doesn't even bother looking, and Jean tries with upmost effort to keep Diluc from launching himself at the whipped fatui boy basking in your attention.
"Quit embarrassing me." You whisper-exclaim sharply, noticing how Jean passes Diluc—all green in the face, a puke bag discreetly. "Shouldn't you be doing something illegal right now? Or vaping in the stalls?"
"I quit vaping for you girlie." Childe boops your nose with his finger. "Well, at least full time. I still need a puff when I'm around Signora, to like, get rid of her awful vibes."
While it is endearing how he quit vaping for you, it doesn't lessen the need for you to bury yourself alive right here and now.
Then you sigh, pick up a Dino nuggie, and shove it in his mouth, the tip of his tongue flicking your finger. You die inside.
"There, you happy?" The action of feeding him is so...intimate, it sets your heart aflame.
Childe's a lovesick puppy when he chews, imaginary tail wagging a hundred times a second. "Can I have a kiss too?"
Diluc slams his hands on the table and stands up, hurriedly picks up his grape juice and makes a break for it. You don't blame him.
"I'll kill you." You smack him with a napkin, blazing red. "I'll end your pathetic little life right here and now."
By the end of lunch, Lisa and Jean have to restrain you so you don't break the world record for the maximum amount of mutilations that can be done on a single body.
Fourth period is a break. A break from Childe you mean. It's expected of the school's resident bad boy aka menace to skip classes in order to skip over the bodies of his victims.
You bask in the momentary peace, until it's disrupted by a tap on the window. Reckon it's nothing, maybe a bird flew into it, because intentional taps are impossible from the third floor. Except your conviction is hindered yet again by another tap.
What a nuisance.
You finally turn to look outside the window, face down, and spot Childe waving incessantly, rocks in hand, oozing with excitement that can't be concealed and a grin that nearly takes you into cardiac arrest. Without meaning to, you send him a small smile, waving back as Baal drones on about quantum superposition.
Successful in gaining your attention, he moves aside to reveal the hefty corpse of a stonehide lawachurl with a destructive path in its wake. The ridges and bumps of its hide are enough to do a number on the road, ruining the school's playing field.
Your smile drops down into a horrified frown in the span of a few seconds.
"Wow." Albedo, your lab partner whispers from next to you, for the first time distracted in class.
"Yeah," Kaeya whistles from behind you two, one hand supporting his head. "What a gesture."
"Y/N, I'd be grateful if you could possibly obtain a black crystal horn for me from the specimen." The blonde asks, entranced by the corpse that your boyfriend is flaunting off to you with pride.
"Aren't those things endangered cutie?" Lisa makes sure to butt in, as per usual.
Yes. Your boyfriend with several issues and an affinity for chaos brought you the corpse of an endangered geo-infused creature that's five times the size of him. During school hours too, the fiend. Like a cat dragging the corpse of a dead mouse to its owner.
You groan into your hands, heart racing while the fire is coursing through your veins.
That idiot.
—
Childe is exceptional at a lot of things, like the switch and making weapons out of seemingly harmless things (e.g shiv out of a toothbrush), but what he prides in the most is physical education. With washboard abs, uber tall height, and a dickish smile to top it all, he has everything it takes to showcase his top tier athletic abilities.
He pounces at the opportunity to show off in front of you, wanting nothing more than to have you fawn over his strength. He's sure it'll be enough to have you all over him, wrapping your cute little arms around his muscled ones, passing him his water bottle and dabbing away at the sweat on his forehead. Most of all, he daydreams you planting your soft lips on his to congratulate him after a big game.
Physical education, for you, is a pain. You may be good with your brain, but games exert more energy than necessary, and coordination that lacks logic entirely. You're just here for the credit. The over-achiever part of you walks the extra mile to ensure a grade in the high nineties.
Although witnessing Childe clad in the school shorts and matching polo shirt is enough to make this worth your while, you'll die before admitting it. Especially when he gawks at you as if it's the first time you're wearing the sports uniform yourself. It has you fidgeting with your fingers and tugging your shorts down nervously.
You try not to flip him off like you usually do, especially since it's not even been twenty four hours since he's asked you out.
Mr.Zhongli blows a whistle, calling all the students over to surround him. It's odd that he teaches most of the subjects at this school, seemingly the only adult present, but no one questions it in fear of genshin logic. Moving on, he explains that you have a dodge ball game today.
Lisa groans beside you. She hates anything that requires the exertion of energy, oftentimes bringing a book to read while everyone else screams in the background.
You're relieved, mainly because Childe and Tohma are usually captains, and Childe always picks you to be on his team as a means to flex his skills. For you, it means sitting back and watching him carry your team towards a straight A.
However, all your dreams are crushed when Zhongli announces the team leaders.
"Y/N, I trust that you'll lead the blue team to the upmost of your ability. Childe, prepare to lead the opposing red team."
Your knees shake as you stare at him in disbelief. "But Sir—"
"No buts Y/N." He scolds you lightly, checking off your names on the clip board. "I'd like to witness your exceptional leadership skills."
In reality, Zhongli just wants to reenact a lovers-on-opposing sides trope, wanting to see how the two of you crack under the pressure. In a way, it is an exercise of leadership.
Instead of picking teams, Zhongli assigns teams for the both of you according to his own judgement, trying to make it as fair as possible.
Lisa pats your back after your teammates are assigned, trying to cheer you up. "It's going to be okay. You guys are dating now, so he'll go easy on you."
You look up to meet Childe's eyes from across the court. He gives you a charming smile, which turns downright barbaric as he lifts up a thumb and motions to slash his neck with it. Then he wickedly mouths "I'm going to destroy you."
You blink and turn away as fast as you can in fear. "We're fucked."
Lisa, witnessing the entire ordeal nods alongside you, doing nothing to reassure you because she herself has given up.
Suddenly a hand lands on your shoulder gripping you tightly. "Let's wipe the floor with that g*nger." The voice is ice cold, threatening enough to send a shiver down your bones.
You turn to meet Rosaria, who frowns at you. Most of the time she doesn't really put an effort in dodgeball, but she must've seen your crestfallen expression, trying to comfort you in her own detached way.
Rosaria is the other school nurse in training, alongside Barbara, but somehow her patients end up more injured, sick, or mentally defiled than before they entered the room. She also spends after hours beating up Chads in the school parking lot. Also runs a blog with her booby co-author Kaeya that emphasizes mostly on the dark knight hero.
Spotting the rest of your team behind her, you begin to criticize them one by one.
Standing against the wall is Kaeya, pushing both his biddies up with his crossed arms like an absolute whore. He's breaking about several dress code rules right now. Venti is next to him, drunk off his butt as he beat boxes with Tohma.
Eula mutters under her breath, on and on about seeking revenge on Zhongli for putting her beloved Amber on the opposing team, promising him an unfortunate fate. Xiao is miserably squatting on the floor, sharp eyes observing everyone in the gym, scowl not ready to dissipate anytime soon.
Then you look over at Childe's team in the distance. Jean with a determined look on her face as she listens to Childe's game plan, and Diluc crossing his arms with his brows furrowed in concentration. Even Amber, the best baller in the school, is stretching out her arms, assisted by the gifted princess of the school, Ayaka.
Not only that, but Childe has the king of dodging on his team—Kaedehara goddamn Kazuha. Beidou shoots you a wicked smirk, winking at you until she's disrupted by Ningguang's shove.
"Oh my god." You cry out when the realization hits you, falling to your knees in despair. "We're completely fucked!"
"No we aren't." Rosaria mutters lowly. "You're only fucked if you want to be. Don't you dare throw in the towel before the fight has even begun."
"But I—"
"Stop it." She grumbles again, rolling her eyes. "You're being annoying now. If you lose the game, that makes him the dom. Don't you want to be the dom?"
She's right. You do want to be the dom.
Her words of encouragement, and not at all veiled insults somehow allow you to find motivation deep within yourself. You get up and stomp towards the rest of your team, calling their attention with your newfound confidence.
"Listen here soldiers!" You shout out, determination clear as day. "I know I am not capable of leading. I know that I barely have the physical capabilities needed to defeat the opposite team."
You take a deep breath, pointing at your cutie patootie boyfriend across the gym as you seethe. "But that man, that harbinger of chaos, that instrument of war, is nothing but a tyrant. And I cannot let such a tyrant be a victor in this battle. Not when innocent lives are at stake."
Tohma speaks up, sending you a bewildered look. "What lives—"
"Shut the fuck up soldier!"
"Yessir!" He immediately stiffens, saluting you.
"Are you ready soldiers?" Your voice booms, and everyone reinforces their priorities, except for Kaeya though. He just lazily smirks.
After Zhongli places the balls in the middle, everyone prepares for the battle of the century.
'Gods, please let us win this war' you pray to the archons above, closing your eyes in concentration.
'Give me the strength to flex my superior skills' Childe wishes, then adds on quickly 'also I want to dominate this world.'
'Give me the strength to make it to Friday.' Rosaria prays for nobody but herself, rolls her eyes at all the unnecessary dramatics of this dodgeball game.
"3..." "2..." "1..."
Zhongli ends the countdown by blowing hard into a whistle, signaling the beginning of the game.
Not even two seconds later a ball whooshes past a few of you at the speed of light, followed by a tail of fire. The ball of death kisses Kaeya square in the nose, sending him reeling back into a wall with enough sheer force to cause an indent.
Everyone winces.
Before you all can reel in from the initial shock and make sense out of wherever the hell that asteroid came from, Zhongli's voice booms throughout the gymnasium.
"Mr. Ragnvindr, headshots are strictly forbidden. You are out!"
With a scoff, Diluc, satisfied with his work, leaves the court with no apparent qualms. He accepts his defeat with the upturned corners of his lips.
Rosaria pokes Kaeya's body with the tip of her heels, then cringes when he shakes awake, up from his short lived knockout and sends a wink her way.
"Getting handsy when I'm unconscious? I didn't think you'd be one to partake in such vulgar activities." His eye twinkles in mischief, and if his momentary defeat at the hands of brother has him fuming, he doesn't show it one bit.
The only thing that keeps Rosaria from knocking him out for real is the blood that trails down onto his lip. She doesn't want to clean blood off her shoes, especially since it's a pain in the ass to get off.
You're about to tell them to get up and take this seriously, but a softball does your job for you when it darts straight at Rosaria. With pristine accuracy, the girl manages to pitch herself away last minute.
You swivel in Childe's direction, who wears a remorseless grin, which only grows wider once you pick up a blue softball next to your feet.
The glare that he receives has him shaking in exhilaration. More so than the elation he'd felt when he took down that Stonehide Lawachurl for you, as a gift of promise.
You begin to bark out orders. "Eula, Xiao, and Rosaria cover the front and act as decoys."
They nod immediately, but Xiao still clicks his tongue in distaste as he starts following orders.
Then you offer Kaeya a hand. "Get up princess. You're on sniper duty."
With Diluc out of commission, the battle is fair and square now considering both sides have the same amount of people. Ergo, no one's at a disadvantage.
That is—until Lisa fake trips over pure air, landing on the floor in a dramatic slow motion.
You roll your eyes.
"Oh dear! I think I've twisted something." She cries out, crawling away from the battle field, acting as if she's paralyzed completely. "Don't worry about me. I'll cheer you on from afar. The battle has begun, and it seems as if I've become the first casualty."
You don't let the countless amount of Lisa's betrayals get to you, even this one. It's just her personality to flake out on anything and everything that requires her to do more than below the bare minimum.
Focusing on the match, your eyes are only on Childe, just as his are on you.
You aim the ball straight at his ribs, step back a bit, then propel the ball in the air with as much energy as you can, using your entire body as a power outlet. The ball spins in the air, reaching the awaiting victim.
Childe, unbothered, dodges the ball with perfect precision, the ball not even grazing his clothes at the least.
Your jaw drops open, and you're about to move for another ball until he grabs the same ball you threw at him. With the sharpness of a predator locking in on its pray, he focuses on you like a missile locks on its target, launching the ball in the air for power that has you trembling, second to the powerful ball that was thrown by Diluc.
With your pupils dilated at your impeding doom, it's Xiao that grabs you and thrusts away.
The ball lands on the floor, smoke rising.
"Holy shit!" You shriek over everyone else's grunts and shuffles. "Are you trying to kill me?"
"Isn't it poetic?" Childe shouts back while he slides away from the balls being thrown. "Lover against lover. Either you're by my side, or in my way. And right now, you're in my way." He narrows his eyes dangerously. "Albeit reluctantly, I will take the victory babe. Even if we are on opposing sides."
"There was zero reluctance in that throw asshole!"
You thank Xiao, who wipes his hands on his pants in disgust. "Filthy humans. So pathetic and weak."
Mildly offended, you roll your sleeves up and begin to fight with everything you've got as soon as he walks away.
The dodgeball game goes as expected for the most part, Eula carrying for most of it with the flow of her skills.
Tohma actually tries like the presumptuous asshole he is, aims straight for his girlfriend Ayaka, and takes her out completely. His only justification for that is "I ain't no simp!"
He shelves his cocky attitude when facing Childe with a sense of dignity and prestige you didn't think he had in him.
The two one of a kind fuckbois puff out their chests so that they look more hefty than they are, having some kind of an Alpha match. The 'me stronger than you. me dominant. me get all the women' type beat.
Unfortunately, Childe manages to fence him with his throws, and lo and behold, the square off ends with a dejected Tohma dragging his feet to the nearest bench.
Eula oversees that Ningguang and Beidou meet a quick end, taking their slower dodging to her advantage. You're actually rooting for her, tasting a sliver of victory that you haven't reached yet. So close, yet so far.
Amber trips on herself in the middle of throwing a what should've been coordinated ball, and it loses most of its momentum. Xiao is directly in front of it, and will probably be able to catch it with ease.
Ah, another short victory.
If Childe loses his expert baller, he's only left with Kazuha and Jean, whom's lack in the art of throwing is made up by their ability to dodge most of the fastballs.
However, all your plans and hopes are crushed when Eula slides in front of Xiao last minute, sticks out her foot, and let's the pathetic product of Amber's would-be downfall hit her on the leg with the total force of about 0.0000001 newtons.
Your chances of winning have just went down by a staggering 60%.
"Eula!" You cry out, collapsing on the ground. "How could you?"
Tohma cups his mouth and bellows obnoxiously from the bench. "SIMP!"
"I cannot avenge my clan if I win a false victory." Eula crosses her arms, casting her gaze down in visible uncomfortableness. "Amber will pay her dues in two business days. Mark my words."
It all a load of cap. She's sleeping with the enemy and you know it.
You grit your teeth. Fuming with an abundance of rage, you pick up three balls and throw them all back to back, taking out Amber and Kazuha simultaneously.
Childe's heart flutters in another kind of delight when you pluck out his team members one by one with no hints of remorse.
In retaliation, Jean and Childe work in sync to swiftly take care of a distracted Rosaria.
"Shit." You hiss underneath your breath.
It's Venti, Kaeya, Xiao, and you who are the only remainders of your short-lived team. It's still two more people than Childe and Jean, giving you the upper hand briefly.
It's a mystery to everyone how Venti is still standing. You reckoned you would've lost him as collateral during the beginning of the match, but it seems he's able to hold his own.
When you squint hard enough, you realize that Xiao has been t-posing in front of the nonchalant SoundCloud rapper that's about as high as a kite. He must've been defending him throughout the entire round.
His defenses are all in vain once Childe correlates another attack with Jean, sharp-shooting four rapid balls that are secured on their targets.
Xiao swerves to the side, avoiding most of them, until one is about to reach a nonchalant as shit Venti.
You scream at him, eyes widening as you run towards them in slow motion. "NOoOoOOOo-"
The yaksha doesn't waste a moment, shifting so that he's covering Venti's body with his own, which to be honest is a pretty heartwarming sight.
The ball hits his lean back, a sharp thud following when it hits the floor.
Xiao is out. But his sacrifice is so inspiring that it brings tears to Zhongli's eyes, makes everyone in the gym go silent in awe.
Even the sadistic Childe melts, cerulean eyes gaining back their light, halting his fire.
When Xiao finally uncovers Venti's body, he speaks from the bottom of his dead heart. "I'd do anything for you..."
Venti shakes out of his baked state, blinking at him stupidly with a nervous chuckle. "Ehe~? I don't even know who you are."
The entire class sweat drops. Whatever slip of compassion on Childe's face earlier has become nothing but a memory. Even your eyes dim.
The next time Childe aims and locks at Venti, it's not with malicious intent. It's a favour, for you. In a way it adds dimension to who he is and the lengths he's willing to go for you, even at war.
Venti steps away with a bounce in his gait, hands behind his head.
Kaeya and you are the only ones left standing now, and the game becomes too tight knit to tell which side's going to win. It becomes utter chaos, balls being launched every second, stamina slowly decreasing as everyone lurches away from their demise.
As laid-back and charming as the boy presents himself to be in front of the ladies, he's not very patient when it comes to facing circumstances like these. He's side lined for most of the match, finding it boring. And when Kaeya gets bored, the intensity of the tide changes, and everyone knows they're going to get a run for their money.
Kaeya coasts a hand around your hips, pulls you real close, purposefully leaning his bust into the side your innocent arm.
When Childe's smile drops, and the glint in his eyes reads 'DANGER' in full caps, you know it's time to be properly scared.
Your blood runs cold, mouth opening briefly and then clamping shut immediately.
"I'm so glad to be on your team Y/N. Maybe this'll give us the chance to become...closer." His hot breath fans against your ear, voice loud enough to be heard by onlookers.
Suddenly everything stops, falling into an unsettling silence.
You attempt glance at Childe, being met with a glare that's directed at the Captain of the Skating team. The ball in the orange-haired boy's hand deflates from the sheer intensity of the squeeze.
The tension becomes unreadable. Even Zhongli is caught mid-sip with his tea.
Quickly, you shrug off Kaeya's arm. "Childe, he's just fucking with you—"
Childe cuts you off by hurling a ball with nothing but the objective of cold blooded murder.
Kaeya whizzes past you, successfully ducking to avoid the hit, and his amused laugh rings through your ears. He rolls away from the following attacks, chucking his own series of colourful balls.
The events that unfold are blood-curdling enough to make even Satan boil his pants with diarrhea.
You take the clear opportunity presented by their concurrent dumbassery to take out Jean, the ace of the other team.
Childe's rage blows over when Kaeya eventually loses interest and takes the L, playfully winking at you while walking backwards to the rest of your team.
Now that all the distractions are dealt with, Childe's eyes flicker to you, and you share a murderous glance.
"Finally," He slaps the softball with a free hand, lips thinning into a homicidal smile. "I've been waiting for this. You better not disappoint me."
While Childe may be a violent anarchist who's only aspiration in life is to become a government contracted killer, he's also supposed to be your sweet boyfriend.
Slowly, you inch towards the front. "We don't have to do this Childe. We can coexist peacefully."
"Peace was never an option Y/N." He sighs, cracking his neck. "Besides—how else can I prove myself in your eyes? You may be my greatest weakness, but you are also my greatest adversary."
"I don't know, maybe start with not trying to obliterate me?"
"I'm obliterating you out of respect." He counters with a playful pout.
"Well I'll be paying my respects to your grave!" You lurch ahead into a sudden assault, yeeting as many balls as you can his way.
"That's my girl!" Childe whistles, grin widening psychotically when he goes all out, leaving you with an absence in favorable openings.
Out of nowhere, the fire alarms start going haywire, along with a beep in the PA system, which stops you two in your tracks.
A panicked voice of who you assume to be Yanfei shrieks through the comms. "CODE ORANGE! CODE ORANGE! EVACUATE THE BUILDING, THERE'S A STONEHIDE LAWACHURL ON THE PREMISES."
As if on cue, the ground starts rumbling and a Stonehide Lawachurl bursts through the halls and into the gym, looking around for something. Or rather, someone. It's sharp bumps and ridges make an indent on the floor, cracking it in.
Everyone falls into a state of panic, Zhongli trying his best to evacuate the class from the emergency back door as quickly as possible. "Settle down class, we have to follow protocol."
You, devoid of any emotion or sense of fear, turn to your boyfriend in such a calm manner it strikes an ominous dread in his stomach.
You stare.
Childe stares harder.
“I thought you killed it."
"I did." He retorts slowly, switching to gaze at the raging beast in amazement.
"Then why is it in the school!" You seethe, glaring daggers at his side profile.
Childe chuckles sheepishly, scratches the back of his neck. "I may or may not have stuffed the body in the boys washroom. Y'know, for safe keeping?"
The Lawachurl locks it's gaze on you, the prey, and then roars furiously. Turning into its geo-enhanced state, it begins charging at you with all its might, the target being solely Childe.
Leave it to your boyfriend to get on the hit list of an endangered beast.
"Fear not my vibrant girlfriend. Our first date can be surviving this." Childe cheekily kisses the top of your trembling hand before grasping it tightly and making a run for it.

a/n: OKAY SO HAHHSLKDFJ RIGHT WHEN I WAS WRITING THIS CHAPTER I GOT SICK W/ A FEVER- I THINK I JINXED MYSELF OMG
i tried to make the scenario KINDA different, but with the same idea hehe
anYWAYS i’m so sorry if this makes like zero sense AHSLDKF- i wrote a lot while i was sick SO ill blame it on fever delusion if it flops 😌
OH AND THIS IS FOR @haikyuuheartsclub ty for reading the first one and asking for a part 2 hehe <33
You getting sick was inevitable.
You knew that you were bound to get sick with all of the work you had been doing and all of the late nights you spent preparing volleyball strategies, planning practice tournaments for your team, or studying until your eyesight blurred.
Being your school's volleyball team manager was not only hard, but it was ridiculously time consuming. Not to mention that you were bombarded with schoolwork, and you had exams coming up. Your stress levels had never been higher, and you were practically living off of caffeine with the amount of sleep you were always lacking.
So when you woke up with a sick feeling and the worst headache, you weren't completely surprised. Annoyed would have been a better word.
You knew that your team was getting ready for an important tournament, so you would have to stay extra long for practice. Groaning as you got ready, you weren't sure you could make it through the day.
You sluggishly pulled on a hoodie and brushed your teeth, taking note of how warm you felt as you washed your face. Grabbing a thermometer, you quickly measured your temperature.
100.4 Fahrenheit. Not too bad... just a low-grade fever. You tried to shrug it off and ignored how disgusting your body felt. You slung a backpack over your shoulder and walked out the door, heading to school.
You waited at the bus stop, shaking your head to try and make the sickness go away. When the bus arrived a while later, you plopped down onto the closest seat and you couldn’t stop your eyes from closing. You were just so... tired...
You drifted off to sleep, the soft sound of the bus driving across the road comforting you.
...
“Uh, Y/N?” Someone was shaking your side, and you immediately lifted your head from the bus window you were leaning on. It seemed like you just closed your eyes a second ago... where were you now?
"Mm?" you hummed sleepily, blinking slowly. You rubbed your eyes as the sunlight filtered through the window, and it made you feel warmer than you already felt.
"Hey, sorry to wake you, but we’re already at school." You looked outside, and he was right; you saw Karasuno in the near distance.
Your brain processed the fact that Sugawara, a third year from Karasuno’s volleyball team, was sitting next to you. You saw his blurred figure lean next to you, and he brushed some hair out of your face. His fingers grazed against your forehead, but he quickly froze.
"Y/N- Y/N! Why is your forehead so hot?" He studied your face with concerned eyes, noticing how tired you looked.
"Hm? No, it’s not. It wasn’t that high when I checked... probably the sunlight..." you mumbled, leaning on the back of your bus seat behind you. You put a hand on your forehead, and it confirmed that you were indeed burning up; it was considerably warmer than earlier in the morning. You groaned and got up.
"You don’t look too good, don't you think you should go home-" Sugawara started, but you interrupted him.
"No, you need your manager today, you guys have a game soon," you said, your tone tired but strict. Sugawara eyed you anxiously, but you waved him off. "I'll be fine," you reassured him. Grabbing your backpack, you got up from your seat, heading for the bus’ exit.
Woah.
You knew you were sick, but you didn't think you would be this dizzy. Everything seemed to sway to one side, and you put one arm on the seat of the bus, leaning on it for support. You rested your head on your arm, and you felt Sugawara’s arm wrapping around you for support.
“Alright, now you have no choice. You’re taking a break, whether you like it or not, clearly something’s not okay,” he told you, and you were too lightheaded to argue. You just nodded along and he helped you back into your seat.
You clutched your head as you tried to make everything go away. Sugawara went to talk to the bus driver in the background, and miraculously, the driver made an exception for you.
“We’re ahead of schedule anyways,” the bus driver reasoned. He turned the bus around, heading back towards your house.
“Okay, now that that’s done, you can sleep if you want to. You could probably use the rest, I can only imagine how tired you are...” Sugawara said softly, and you gave a small nod. You scooted further down into the seats, making enough space for the boy to sit next to you. He gladly obliged, and he couldn’t help but smile at the sight of you drifting off to sleep. Your head subconsciously drifted onto his shoulder, but he didn’t mind.
“Hey, Koushi?” you mumbled, your voice coated with sleepiness.
“Yeah? What’s wrong?”
“Nothing... I just wanted to thank you.” Your eyes remained closed, and Sugawara couldn’t tell if the blush on your face was from your fever... or something else?
“You need to take breaks, you know. You work really hard, it’s a wonder you haven’t dropped dead yet,” he said, half jokingly. “Thank you.” You smiled, and finally fell asleep.
Kuroo found you in the classrooms; your head was down, and your headache was terrible. You were almost asleep; you were trying your best to stay awake, and you weren't sure how long you could keep it up.
He was walking down the halls, casually glancing into your classroom to see if you were finished, and he softly smiled at the sight of you.
"Tired, Y/N?" Kuroo asked, smirking as he tapped your shoulder.
"Hm?" You lifted your head up, surprised at the unexpected touch. "Oh- Kuroo, shut up," you replied, rolling your eyes as you stretched. He laughed and grabbed your backpack for you, slinging it over his own shoulder.
“Ready for practice?” he asked, looking down at you. You nodded, and the two of you walked to the gym.
Your head was killing you with every step you took, but you had no choice but to ignore it. You looked to the distance, trying to ease your headache. Kuroo’s voice was slowly melting into background noise.
Suddenly you froze and stopped walking, earning a curious glance from Kuroo. You were forgetting something...
“Wait- where’s my... backpack?” You spotted it on the boy next to you, and you shook your head. “Sorry, forgot that you had it,” you said, with a sheepish laugh.
“Something wrong?” he frowned. “You’re acting distracted... more distracted than usual, anyways.” You shook your head, deciding to keep your sickness to yourself.
“I’m good, just tired,” you assured him. He nodded slowly, and walked into the gym, you following close behind.
Only you, Kuroo, and the coaches were in the gym; you were early. You flashed a quick smile as you waved hello.
"Great, you guys are early. I have a couple strategies to discuss," the coach said, gesturing to a whiteboard in front of him. The two of you nodded, and he began to explain.
"Alright... if we're going to win this next match..." he started, but you couldn't make yourself pay attention. The only thing on your mind was how your head wouldn't stop hurting, everything seemed to echo, and just overall how sick you felt.
"What do you think, Y/N?" Kuroo asked, quirking an eyebrow in your direction. You snapped out of your sleepy state at the sound of your name.
“Wha-” You blinked, looking around at all of the eyes on you. You tried to remember what the others were talking about... oh. Strategies. Right. "I just think we... we need to..." You looked at thr whiteboard, but you couldn't focus. You swayed to one side, blinking hard. The world really seemed like it was tilting to one side... "Woah, sorry-" you tried to say.
"Y/N?" You saw Kuroo reach out towards you as you slowly lowered down into a fetal position, resting your head on your knees. "Hey, Y/N? You okay?" You swallowed.
"Yea- yeah. Just... give me a second," you breathed. You felt Kuroo kneel down next to you, and you were right; someone's arm wrapped around you for support, and you knew it was Kuroo's. You knew you were safe as you lost consciousness, falling further into his arms.
...
You awoke, and the first thought was how bright the gym lights were... they weren't this bright before...
"Oh- Y/N! You're awake," Kuroo said, rushing over to you. He put the back of his hand on your forehead. "You're still burning..." he said with a frown.
"Sorry," you muttered. "I don't know, I've been sick all day and I guess I couldn’t handle it..."
"Why didn't you tell me you weren’t feeling well?" he asked, concern clear in his voice. You smiled softly.
"It wasn't important... besides I have manager duties to take care of," you said with a sigh.
"Not if I can help it." He picked you up in one swift motion bridal-style, smirking as you struggled to get down. "I'm not letting you down; I'm taking you home and getting you some proper medicine for this fever of yours. Health is more important than volleyball." You huffed and flopped into his arms in defeat.
"Fine." You leaned closer into Kuroo's chest, and he smiled, satisfied with your surrender.
"That's my girl." You rolled your eyes, but you couldn't help but smile.

series masterlist | teaser | chapter one | chapter two
It had been another long day, cases replaced by paperwork as Astrid sighed, putting her pen down and closing the folder. She had finally found the time to sit and sign casefiles given to her earlier in the day, and it was only 2 in the morning. The phone on the desk pinged, as she picked it up, smiling.
'You done, beautiful? Need a ride?'
Shaking her head, she smiled before texting back.
'I'm okay, I'll be home soon, promise'
Her office phone rang, as she turned and picked it up. "Morrison."
"Lieutenant, we have a victim. I'll send you the address, we're heading to the apartment right now."
"I'll be there in 10." hanging up the phone, she grabbed her bag, badge, gun, and phone in hand as she locked up the office and headed out.
Driving over to the address texted to her, she contemplated wether or not she should let her partner know that she wouldn't be home just yet. He knows already, he probably heard the call too.
Arriving at the residence, she was greeted with a couple squad cars, as Lucy walked out of the house.
"Lieutenant, she's inside."
"What do we have?" Astrid asked as she walked alongside Lucy, up the steps.
"Victim's name is Kristi, she was raped by her sister's boyfriend. She was asleep on the couch when she woke up to him on top of her. He was aggressive, she broke a glass over his head to get him off her and locked herself in the bathroom."
Astrid sighed, shaking her head. "What's his story?"
"Actually, we were waiting for you," Lucy said as she sighed, "Figured you might want to talk to him."
Heading inside, Lucy directed her to the closed-off room, where the other victim was, bandage on his forehead and dried blood on his face. Ben was there already, looking up and nodding at her, before turning his attention back to him.
"So, Dan, do you want to tell us what happened?" Ben asked him as he sat hunched down, head in his hands.
He shook his head.
"It's quite a mess you've made here, Dan." Astrid spoke up, crossing her arms, "Where's Rachel?"
He spoke up, "I don't remember."
Ben sighed, "Conk on the head give you amnesia? There's no way you forgot raping your girlfriend's little sister."
He looked up quickly, confusion furrowed on his face. "What are you talking about?"
Astrid frowned, "Maybe the precinct will jog your memory."
Ben leaned down and grabbed Dan's arm, pulling him up from where he was sitting as he looked between the two. "Look, you're not gonna believe me if I tell you."
She tilted her head, "Why don't you try us?"
"I did it in my sleep."
Astrid's eyes widened, as she looked at Ben. His hand still on the suspect's arm, he gave him a t-shirt to wear, before taking him outside and into one of the cars.
"That's a new one." he sighed as Astrid nodded, "You ever heard that one before?"
She nodded, "Heard of it, never experienced it before."
Calling Lucy down, she walked with the victim Kristi, guiding her into another car as they all headed down to the precinct. It was still early in the morning, the time now nearing 3am as Astrid grabbed her phone, placing a coffee order for everyone.
As they all pulled into the precinct, Joe met up with them, having called Kristi's father, who was now waiting in the conference room. Ben walked with Dan, escorting him into an interrogation room as Lucy walked Kristi in with her father, who awaited her with open arms.
Ben grabbed the folder Joe reached out to him as Rami walked in with him, both of them ready to question Dan. Ben dropped the folder on the table as Rami opened it, grabbing Rachel's picture and showing it to Dan.
"So, what'd you do with Rachel?" he stayed quiet as Rami continued, "You forget, or you sleepwalk her into a dumpster?"
Dan looked up, "I-I swear I don't remember a thin-"
"Maybe you got into a fight, huh?" Ben began, as he circled Dan, "Get in a fight, get out of hand. Kill her, dump her body."
Dan shook his head, "No, I didn't."
"Then you had to get rid of Kristi before she could-"
"No!" Dan exclaimed as he paused, "You don't understand. Okay, I have this condition."
Rami paused as he looked back, hearing the door open and noticing a woman standing at the entrance, "And I have a headache." he stood upright, as he turned to face her, "You his lawyer?"
She smiled, "Anna Bentley. My client suffers from Arousal Parasomnia." Ben cocked an eyebrow at her words as she frowned, "It's a real disorder. He had sexual intercourse with Kristi McGarrett while he was asleep."
Dan spoke up, "Look, Rachel knows about my condition, okay? She loves it, okay? She says when I'm asleep, it's the best sex she's ever had."
Astrid stood outside the interview rooms, watching as Rami and Ben led Anna, Dan's lawyer, over to the table, pulling up a chair for her to sit in. She turned and walked over to the other window, where Lucy and Joe were interviewing and getting Kristi's statement.
"He was so violent," she sighed, looking down at her water cup, "He was grunting and panting like an animal."
Joe frowned, "How long have you known him?"
"I met him for the first time yesterday at the train station when he and Rachel picked me up," Kristi sniffled as Lucy nudged the box of tissues closer to Krisi, her hand coming up to grab one. "Thanks."
"So you're visiting?" Lucy asked, nodding at her acknowledgement as Kristi only frowned.
"From Boston, I came here to look at colleges." Wiping tears from her eyes, she breathed in shakily, "She told me that she was in love with him. How could he do this to me?"
Astrid sighed, wringing her hands together as she walked over once more to listen to Dan, noticing the tension in the shoulders of her detectives.
"Now, if Rachel's so hot for you when you're, uh, sleep sexting, why'd you rape Kristi?" Rami frowned, looking at Dan as he turned away angrily.
"Rachel must've already been gone."
"Well, yeah because you got rid of her." Ben interjected as Dan looked at him. "That's where the blood in the bedroom came from."
"No!" Dan screamed, "Look, I woke up after Kristi cut me with the glass. When I went in the bedroom to tell Rachel, she wasn't there!"
His lawyer sighed, "You can't arrest my client for a rape he didn't know he was commiting."
She knocked on the glass, as her two detectives walked out, leaving Dan with his lawyer, as she began giving him encouraging statements.
Gwilym was standing outside next to her as Ben and Rami sighed. "Seems like this isn't good news."
He only shook his head. "She's right, we can't charge him with the rape."
Rami shook his head, "If it looks like a rape and acts like a rape-"
"It is a rape. Unless the accused isn't conscious of what his body's doing." Gwilym finished, as everyone groaned, "It's like a sleeping mother who rolls over on her baby. Her body did it, but her mind wasn't aware of it."
Lucy and Joe had joined them as she interjected, clear confusion and anger in her voice. "Well, it still doesn't explain what happened to Rachel."
Neither of them had noticed that Dr. Palmer had joined them, having heard about the case and knowing the rarity of it, she had wanted to know a little more about what they were working with. "Actually, I think it does. When a patient with sexomnia has an episode, he or she will seek sex with whoever's available. I think that he raped Kristi becuase Rachel was already gone."
Ben sighed, "I gotta tell you, it sounds like a cover up for killing Rachel and dumping her body."
"There's never been a case of sexomnia linked to a homicide." Gwilym crossed his arms.
Rami crossed his as well as he looked at everyone around, "So you're telling me there's no connection between Dan attacking Kirsti and Rachel's disappearance."
Dr. Palmer sighed and shook her head, "If she's in love with him, I doubt she'd leave in the middle of the night. I think Rachel was kidnapped."
-
Astrid walked alongside Kristi through the hallways to the main bullpen, as Kristi wrapped her arms around herself. "Did your sister ever mention anyone bothering her? Giving her the creeps?"
Kristi shook her head, as they rounded a corner, "No, Rachel would've told me."
As they reached the main bullpen, they came face to face with Ben and Dan, as he reached for her indistinctively. "Kristi, I'm so sorry. I never meant to hurt you!"
Ben reached for his arm as Astrid pulled her away and in another direction, "Shut up! Nothing you say will bring my sister home!"
In the heat of the moment, neither the Lieutentant nor the detective noticed Kristi and Rachel's father sitting on the plastic chairs, as he had waited for them to finish their statements. He approached quickly at the sound of his daughter's loud voice, his protectiveness kicking in.
"Kristi! Kristi, is this the guy?" she nodded and acknowledged her father's statement as he lunged at Dan, anger and hatred in his eyes.
His arm swung back and toward him as Dan fell to the ground, Kristi's father swinging once as Ben wrapped his arms aorund him, pulling him up and away from their suspect.
"Back off, back off!" he yelled as Kristi's father grunted and snarled, wanting to get close to Dan to hurt him more than he just got the chance to.
Astrid took his arms and made him look at her as she emphasized how he was feeling, "Mr. McGarett, I understand that you're upset-"
"What do you expect me to do? He took my daughter!"
"We don't think that he's involved."
"What do you mean?" he looked flabbergasted as she let go of his arms, "He raped Kristi, what are you going to do about that?"
She sighed, as Ben took Dan away from them, "There's nothing we can do. He has a medical condition that made him unaware of his actions. Because of that, the law says that we can't charge him."
He sighed, closing his eyes and placing a hand over his face, in an attempt to soothe the anger seething from his pores. "This is a nightmare."
"I promise you, we are working around the clock to find your daughter."
"Good!" he seethed at her, "Because all you've managed to do is hide behind the law! I don't want to hear excuses! Find my daughter!"
He walked off, grabbing Kristi as they headed out, leaving Astrid standing by the corridor, Ben now at her side as the rest of the detectives watched on, concern etched on their faces.
"You okay?" she nodded, letting go a sigh she didn't realize she had been holding.
Walking over to the bullpen where everyone else was waiting, she turned to Lucy, "Did you get anything from the crime lab?"
She tilted her head, and nodded, "They actually just called me. Want me to head over?"
Astrid nodded, as she instructed for Joe to accompany her. They needed to get this case cleared as soon as possible, she didn't want any more casualties.
Not again.
-
Walking into the crime lab, Joe and Lucy were greeted with the tech Lu, as she crossed her arms, "Ready?"
"What do you have for us?"
"I took a hair from a brush in Rachel's room, typed her DNA and then compared it to the blood on the scene." guiding them over to a light on the wall, she flicked the switch, the film showing the strands of DNA from the test. "DNA on the left is from Rachel's, the one on the right from the scene."
Joe sighed, "They don't match."
Lu nodded and reached behind Joe for another piece of film that had been laying on her desk, "But this does." she placed it up against the light, "It's DNA from a blood sample Dan gave when he participated in a parasomnia study at Hudson Med School."
Lucy crossed her arms, as confusion was etched across her features, nothing making sense. "So Dan told the truth then. He bled all over the bedroom when he went to look for Rachel. At least we know that Rachel wasn't hurt badly."
Joe's phone pinged as Lu continued, "Well, that's all we know for now. Whoever took her didn't leave a shred of forensic evidence." she walked over to her computer and began typing, as Joe opened up his phone to a notification from the Lieutenant.
"I'm getting a text from the Lieutenant, she wants me to turn on Channel 4. Do you mind?"
Lu nodded as she grabbed the remote control and turned on the television hooked to the wall, as all three walked over to watch. On the screen was Rachel and Kristi's father, as he adressed the media.
'Last night, one of my daughters was raped. The incompetent detectives at Manhattan's Special Victims Unit refused to charge her attacker. And if this tragedy isn't horrible enough, my daughter Rachel was abducted from her bed.'
On the screen, a picture of Rachel appeared, as the tagline underneath read 'Rachel McGarrett'
'We're reaching out to the public for help. My family is offering a 50 thousand dollar reward for any tip leading to Rachel's safe return. If you have information, please call Manhattan SVU's tip line.'
Joe and Lucy headed out, thanking Lu for her hard work and promising to follow up if she had anything else. Heading back to the precinct, they regrouped at the bullpen, where everyone was on any available phone, the lines ringing like crazy as everyone scrambled to answer tips.
"Lieutenant, woman claims she saw Rachel eating a chili dog in Times Square. Wants the fifty grand in twenties and tens." Rami sighed as he put the phone down, Astrid only shaking her head.
"Reward offer brings out all kinds of crazy," Astrid breathed out, as she turned to Lucy, who was on a phone and had finished a call.
"One bogus lead after the next." she handed some cards to a fellow detective perched on her desk, "Follow those two."
He nodded and walked off as Joe called everyone over. "Maybe not! I got something, friend of Rachel's. You still there, Ginger?"
The speaker on the phone crackled as the voice talked, "Yes."
"Tell the detectives what you just told me."
"I think Rachel is in another Youniverse."
All of them exchanged confused glances as Ginger gave them her address, inviting them over to show a preview of the game mentioned. Astrid gave Ben a nod as they both headed out, leaving the rest to scramble over more tips.
"Another Youniverse is a virtual reality game. Rachel and I play online all the time," she guided them over to her monitor, as the game was loaded on the screen. "We each have avatars, mine is Tawny Coppercuffs. They are basically alter egos, we each have our own homepages, video clips, game diary, anything you can do in the real world, you can do here too."
"Does Rachel have an avatar name?" Astrid leaned down to look at the monitor.
"Yes, Vixy Platinum."
"Why do your names sound like strippers?" Ben questioned her as she shrugged.
"That's because you're close. We own virtual sex clubs. We use AY to explore our fantasies."
Ben and Astrid shared a look, as she turned to Ginger. "How do avatars have sex?"
"Same way as humans do, only in A.Y. it's just animated." she sighed, "Look, it may look illegal and odd, but it's fantasy and not a crime. We weren't hurting anyone or doing anything illegal."
Astrid nodded, "You weren't hurting anyone, but Rachel may have gotten hurt."
Sighing, Ginger nodded and apologized, before bringing up Rachel's club on the monitor. "She's supposed to be performing today at 2pm, but because she never showed, everyone is worried. All these people standing outside are fans of Vixy, and they've been waiting for her."
"So, all these people outside her club are stand-ins for real people?"
"Yep," Ginger nodded, "Her avatar is 14, hence the pigtails and the name of her club."
The disbelief displayed on both their faces was clear as day, as Ginger shrugged, letting them know she would be looking in and call them if she found anything else. Thanking her, they headed out of her loft, they chatted, both comparing theories on what could have happened to Rachel, and why would such a person go to the lengths of tracking someone virtually. Coming up with no leads, they headed to the bullpen, where everyone was waiting, pictures displayed on the board and the computer loaded up.
"Rachel McGarrett leads a double life," Joe began, "Art student in the real world, fourteen year old hooker in the game."
Astrid and Joe bounced back ideas, Lucy stepping in every once in a while to give her two cents as Rami walked over with a piece of paper in hand, catching everyone's attention.
"The game has it's own sherriff. Erik Winton." he showed the paper to Astrid, who nodded, "He designed the game, which means he will have access to all the avatar's personal information."
"Both of you go, talk to Erik and find out if he can give you any information." Astrid pointed at Joe and Rami, both of them leaving to find and talk to Erik, someone who was more than happy to give them all the information they needed, without a search warrant.
"We have five million players in A.Y. We don't tend to follow all of them around, since we based the game on freedom and desires, so when this happens, we try to shut it down as quickly as possible." Erik's accent was thick, as he motioned with his hands while walking over to the big monitor in his office, cameras from the game displayed on the screen.
"We were thinking one of your player's desire got a little out of control," Ben said as they leaned down to his computer. "We'd appreciate it if you played Big Brother, tell us who Vixy's customers are."
He nodded, typing on his computer as he pulled up her profile, the same one Ben had seen earlier on Ginger's monitor. "This is the club, which is empty now but only because they've moved on. But I can pull a screencap of the time you're talking about."
The characters appeared on the screen as Joe pointed, "These guys are Vixy's regulars?"
Erik nodded, "They live around the world. Berlin, Denver, Tel Aviv, Long Beach."
"How do they communicate with her? Chat windows? Email?"
"No," Erik shook his head, before pulling up her blog, "She writes a blog and they read it. Every avatar keeps one, even though no one really uses theirs."
"Hey look," Ben pointed, noticing the latest entry was a couple hours before her abduction, "There's one there written before she disappeared. It's called Stalker."
"Let's listen." Erik pressed a key before Rachel's avatar came up on the full monitor, her voice echoing through the speakers.
I'm being stalked. Had to ban this scumbag from my club a few days ago. And that's when things got bad. I'm worried my A.Y. stalker has gone real world. Last night, I saw a shadow move, I heard footsteps behind me. To all you girls running clubs, watch out for this creep. His avatar's name is Wit Billions.
They sighed, all three sharing glances as Erik went back to his laptop, typing and looking at her profile. "I scanned her account data. Turns out there was only one regular customer not present at today's vigil."
"Let me guess," Ben and Joe sighed, "Wit Billions."
The screen pulled up the profile for the avatar, as they noticed it's unusual getup. "The Executioner, his real name is Tobin Williams, address right here in the city."
-
After an odd and confusing interrogation, which left them with more questions than answers, they redirected their attention at the creator of the game once more, wanting to check if he had any partners or had been talking to someone through the game.
"The avatar interaction grid allows me to scan for every meeting between avatars in A.Y." he motioned to the screen as they watched, "If I set the filter to the most interactions, we come down to only two avatars. Vixy Platnium and Smarty Culottes."
"Smarty's gotta be his partner." pulling up his profile, they noticed the interations were frequent, as they got the information from the creator as to who the person was.
Tracking him down, they found the location to be a quaint bookstore, with only two employees: the owner and the young receptionist. Talking to the younger boy, they determined that not only did he not know who was behind Vixy's account, but he was confused as to why one of his clients was in the game. Once again, their discovery led to more questions than answers as they began probing into the game, only to find out that the owner of the bookstore had also become an avid fan of the game, even going as far as to create and invest his own money into the game.
As they searched his apartment, they found obvious signs of him leaving, but also an interesting photo on the wall. On a beautiful oak frame, they found a picture of a young girl wearing a white button up shirt tied at her waist, and her hair in pigtails.
"Lieutenant, doesn't this look familiar?" Lucy motioned to the picture as Astrid grabbed the photo of Rachel out of her pocket.
"Yes," she turned the picture around as Lucy frowned and shook her head.
Lu, the lab technitian had accompanied them as she groaned in disgust, "It's too close not to be the same girl. If that's Rachel's avatar, then who's the girl in the picture?"
Lucy reached up to the frame, as she pulled it off the wall, turning it around to uncover a piece of paper taped to the back. "It's a list. Buy meds, transfer five thousand A.Y. funds."
Lu walked over alongside Astrid as the lieutenant pulled out her phone, "J.T. 718-555-0108." Dialing the number, she was met with an automated voice. "Jepsen-Taylor Realty, how may I direct your call?"
They both exchanged glances as she began to relay information to the woman on the other end of the line, hoping that maybe she could give them some information. After some back and forth, they were given an address, where they met her with a key to a storage facility. She mentioned that he had only done communication via mail and phone calls, never meeting in person. Yet, when she opened the locker and tilted her head, she remembered him relaying information about wanting a secluded cabin in the woods, which she had found odd at the time.
Going inside, they found Rachel tied to a bed, medicine bottles next to her as she was gagged and blindfolded, her pulse thready and slow. As they untangled her from the mess of ties, they heard the rumble of a car engine, as the owner ran off, evading the detectives once more. Exaserpated and annoyed, they called an ambulance, as it picked up Rachel, before they followed behind, wanting to make sure the young girl was okay.
As they headed to the hospital, they got the chance to speak with her for a few minutes, as they wished her a speedy recovery and promised they would find the guy, before parting ways and heading back to the precinct.
"Lieutenant!" Rami called out as Astrid walked out of her office, phone in hand, "Doctor called, the rape kit was negative. Cooper must have used a condom."
"Were there any prints at the warehouse?" she asked as they walked over to where Lucy and Joe were, as they compared notes.
"No, but Joe did get Cooper's information from the DMV." Lucy said as she pulled up the information he got on the monitor, all of them scanning the document displayed on the screen. "He matched the prints from the DMV to the ones in his apartment and another alias showed up, which so happens to be Cooper's real name: Gregory Searle."
"What? So he just changes his whole name and identity?" Ben asked as he crossed his arms.
"Twenty-five years ago he did time at Green Haven in Duchess County."
"For rape?" Rami interjected as he shook his head.
"Kidnapping. Fifteen year old girl named Lauren Molby. Seen her before?" he held up a picture of the victim, as Lucy gasped.
"That's the girl from the picture in Cooper's apartment."
"So, Cooper decided to relive the glory of his old crime in virtual reality."
Astrid sighed and patted their backs, "Well let's find him before he decides to take another innocent girl."
-
After hours of searching and going back to Erik's apartment, they finally found Cooper, only to let him go minutes after stopping him. They were disappointed, but determined to find out the truth. As they remembered the cabin Rachel had mentioned, they went over to the hospital to ask her more questions, only to be approached by her doctor, with bad news.
"I'm so sorry, but Rachel passed away."
Joe and Ben looked surprised. "What? You told us she was going to make it."
"She suffered a heart attack. I'm sorry."
Joe turned back, and dialed Astrid, as he relayed the bad news.
Well, maybe Erik can help.
Lucy and Astrid drove over to the headquarters once more, as they managed to convince Erik to reveal the lake where Cooper had bought land in the game, that which resembled Twin Island Lakes outside Pine Planes. As Astrid phoned Joe and Rami, who were on the way, Ben meanwhile was following behind Cooper, who was now headed to the airport. Not knowing the exact location of the cabin, he urged Erik to reveal and change the time in the game to daytime, hoping the shadow will reveal the location of the cabin.
Soon enough, they received the information, relaying it to Rami who headed in that direction, a dozen other detectives behind them as they found themselves in front of the cabin. The door opened slowly, as a shotgun appeared between the gap, the officers behind Rami and Joe aiming their guns, ready to fight back.
"Stop right there!" the voice yelled out as Rami raised his hands. "This is private property!"
"This is Gregory Searle's cabin. Who are you?" Rami spoke up as she lowered the shotgun, opening the door and revealing her full figure.
"I'm Lauren," she looked around, eyes brimmed with tears, "Where's Gregory? Is he with you? I've been waiting," she breathed out, tears falling from her eyes, "For twenty five years."
"Lieutenant, we found the cabin."
Search it!
"No need. Lauren's alive."

If time-travel existed, you would be on the first time machine and head back to 2 years ago. A time when you had a free schedule and were able to go out on Friday nights. A time when you felt confident in yourself and were raring to pursue theatre. A time when you didn't have this job (cause apparently, theatre is impossible to get into) that forces you awake at 4 in the morning for the opening shift.
You can't say you don't love your Barista job because you do. Still, when your alarm wakes you from the beautiful dream of performing on the big stage, you have to use everything within yourself to crawl out of your sheet cocoon… and that is unacceptable.
What's even more unacceptable is the fact that your co-worker, Jimin, hasn't arrived at the Academia Cafe yet. You have about 30 minutes to prepare for the morning peak; brew coffees, set up the bakery items, clear the boards "coffee of the day," etc. The problem is, it takes up all of the 30 allotted minutes— and you can't start prepping early because Jimin has the keys to the cafe.
You’ve worked at the Academia Cafe for about a year now, taking a break from your endless theatre audition schedule— since that was getting you absolutely nowhere. No matter how badly you want it, nothing seems to work. No matter how many times you practice, it never seems to be good enough. Let’s just say, you took this job at the cafe because you were over the repetitive let downs.
… But here you are, with a “Jimin being late” let down.
[To: Jimin ☕️] hey, you almost here? times ticking, keys!
You stuff your phone into your winter coat pocket, the brown material catching snowflakes as they fall gently from the cloudy sky. You love this weather; it's always been your favorite. When you were little, you used to pretend to be a dragon; running all over your front yard and releasing heavy breaths that chilled in the air and spread like smoke. You don't enjoy the cold, but the entire feel of winter has you cozying up in a blanket with hot cocoa and a good book… nothing could beat that.
A buzz in your pocket catches your attention.
[From: Jimin ☕️] Hey! Look up.
Your eyes immediately lift to see Jimin smiling a few feet away, shuffling through the snow as he drags the keys out of his pocket. He's sporting a heavy blue coat that reaches down to his knees — making his short stature appear even smaller — topped with a matching blue beanie. Despite his tardiness today, you’ve always been fond of Jimin. He's like a ray of sunshine, beaming through the skyscrapers of the city and making everyone around him happy just by flashing a single smile. Honestly, you wish you could sneak some of that happiness from him and lock it somewhere safe... so you can save it for a time when you need it most.
"Your timing is impeccable." He laughs, gently placing the keys into the front door lock. "You texted me right as I was rounding the corner."
"I'm telling you, Jimin; we're always on the same wavelength." Smirking, you make your way through the doors of the cafe, greeted by the warmth that surrounds you like your sheet cocoon did this morning, but accompanied by the smell of fresh coffee. "Except for the fact that you, my friend, are late, so now we only have twenty-eight minutes until opening."
Old, rustic book pages litter the cafe's dark walls, executing the dark academia theme flawlessly. You have to give the interior designers a hand, what with the black stools and high dark wood counters etched with different story pages. You wonder if anyone took the time to read the stories that covered the cafe; maybe the stories moved them in a personal way. Maybe there was a reason why they read them, a part of the butterfly effect of their life.
With a quick survey of the main room, you shuffle into the back to put your belongings away. "You would think it would be less busy on the streets because of the snow," Jimin calls, already working on the first batch of light roast coffee. "But unfortunately for me, that was not the case, and I nearly lost my life multiple times on the way here because of how slick it is."
A laugh emits from your lips, echoing in the backroom as you throw your apron over your head.
You begin with date labeling all of the pastry items, placing them accordingly onto the pastry cart; croissants, muffins, scones, etc. Then, you move onto organizing syrups and setting toppings along the bar where drinks are made. Bar is your personal favorite position-- since you're able to make the drinks… Plus, you're so busy that your shift goes by way faster. The sooner you're done, the sooner you get to go home and sleep.
“All set?” Jimin questions when you finish setting the steaming pitchers next to the espresso machine, tossing the rag he used to wipe down tables into the sanitizer bin. You give him a nod, taking a quick once over of the bar. “Alright,” he claps, “let's do this.”
This morning runs like every Friday morning, busy and fast. The sounds of coffee glasses clinking and the calling of customer names at the hand-off station echoes through the air.
Ahhhh, the scenery in coffee shops; the quiet hush over the room as soft jazz plays over the speakers. It’s soothing, all encompassing, and extremely helpful for motivation… You used to go to a local cafe for homework when you were still in school.
You take a breath, relaxing against the back counter as you overhear a conversation a group of regulars are having. It’s the usual small talk: the weather, families, sharing pictures of recent events. Coming up with questions of the day for customers becomes easier after knowing their stories, so you subconsciously listen in often.
Because of this, you almost don't notice the man waiting at the register, wholly delved into the neighboring conversation— only looking over when you hear your name called.
"Y/n?"
You turn your head, catching eyes with the stranger behind the counter who holds his credit card ready. The first thing you notice is that he's young, probably around your age, wearing a brown turtleneck and white slacks. His eyes are dark, standing above his perfectly sculpted nose and lips. His hair is dark as well, forehead drowning within the wavy bangs that fall over his eyebrows as he takes you in. To be completely honest, he's probably the most handsome man you've had the pleasure of seeing… is that weird? You don’t know him… maybe that is weird.
The second thing you notice is that he looks completely anxious, hands grasping the edge of the counter like there's a thousand-foot drop below him. Why is he looking straight at you while doing that? Maybe you should call Jimin to take ove-
“Is it really you?” He questions, taking you aback.
"I-" You clear your throat, walking forward to meet him at the register, "I'm sorry, do I know you?"
With an intake of breath, he releases the counter as he studies you. Was he… crying? You swear his eyes were not this bloodshot three seconds ago.
"You-" He pauses, taking another sharp breath and running a hand through his hair. If you thought he couldn't get more attractive, you were wrong. "Do you know me?"
Attractive? Yes. Psycho?...possibly.
You shake your head slightly, “I… I’m sorry. I don't-"
Wait… is he a regular? You swear you haven't seen him come into the cafe before. Shoot.. What if he is? The number one thing your boss has made perfectly clear: remember the regulars, so they come back and feel at home; recognized. Customer connection was the most important thing at the Academia Cafe… He's probably a regular.
“I’m so sorry, there're so many people that come to visit us and sometimes I forget the regulars!” You apologize. “That’s my fault… remind me of your name again?”
He's staring at you. Full-on staring, jaw slacked. Shifting uncomfortably in your keds, you eye beside you to see Jimin working away at a macchiato. You consider changing places, nearly walking over to him before the customer speaks again.
"It's- It's Taehyung."
You force a smile, nodding while he continues to stare at you. He seems a bit more hesitant, his eyes looking in different directions but ultimately falling back onto your own. Even if he tried, he couldn't hide the rosy color that spreads onto his cheeks. What was this guy's problem?
"Taehyung! Awesome, well, what can I get for you today?" You chirp, attempting to brighten up your increasing discomfort. He might have mistook you for someone else, you decide, jumping back into your customer service personality: kind and quick to the point.
Taehyung doesn't move, training his eyes on you. You've never had a man's undivided attention before, since boyfriends were never an option. When you were a teenager, you stayed home most of the time in your hometown, and the boys there were all just in it to take your pants off. You avoided them and never really caught their attention, so you can't help the uncomfortable blush that grows on your cheeks. It’s short lived though, your nerves dissolving as soon as you notice a single tear fall onto the front of his shirt.
Oh. Okay, he’s definitely crying.
"Sir..." You begin, leaning in closer to avoid drawing attention. "Is everything alright?"
"I…" The shake in his voice is evident as he puts his credit card back into his wallet, still refusing to break eye contact. “Excuse me." Without another word, he turns on his heel and rushes towards the exit, clocking a customer in the shoulder in his rush. He apologizes quickly, bowing to them before glancing behind to make eye contact with you once more.
You wish you could read minds, wondering what the hell is going through his brain… but you notice the tiniest gleam of a hopeful smile that hides on his lips.
And then he’s gone.
“I swear it was the strangest thing, Jimin.” You speak nervously, tugging at the strings of your apron and lifting it over your head. It had been busy all day, despite a quick thirty minute break when everyone had left and the cafe was suddenly a deserted island. You appreciated the busyness, it made your shift go by faster. Right now, all you wanted to do was go home, eat a fat bowl of icecream and distract yourself from the events of today with a movie. Thank God your shift was over.
“Maybe he thought you were someone else?” Jimin insists, taking a bite into the extra Blueberry Muffin you’d accidentally heated when you were distracted by the events that occurred earlier.
“Yeah? Well, I must be the spitting image because he was totally freaked out.”
“You never know, y/n. Or, maybe he just used that as an excuse to talk to you.” You could hear the smirk in his voice, throwing your rolled up apron at him harshly before you grab your belongings.
“Ha, ha, you’re hilarious. This guy looked like he had seen his ex… He was crying. I don’t think he was into me.”
“Maybe his eyes were watering from the cold wind?” He offers.
“Enough to cry actual tears?” You scoffed, “C’mon Jimin.”
He shrugs defensively, picking up his things so the two of you can head out a few minutes earlier than usual. Whenever the baristas have a chance to leave early, they take it. “If he comes back, then ask him: hey, dude, what’s your deal?”Jimin works his way through the cafe, throwing an excess chair upside down onto the table with the rest of them.
You hold your hand above your heart, which is still beating at a faster pace due to this discussion. Can hearts even beat this fast? This can’t be healthy… “Oh wow, you have such a way with words. That definitely won’t make him feel uncomfortable!”
Yes. Sarcasm coping mechanism.
“Y/n.” Jimin meets you at the door and puts his hands on your shoulders, making extra sure he has your attention. “Go home. Don’t think too much into it… He was probably high or something and mistook you for his ex that dumped him and now he’s moping through the city and getting into all sorts of trouble and he’ll forget that he even came here tomorrow morning. Okay?”
You nod slowly, exiting the cafe with Jimin on your tail. "Don't worry, y/n." Jimin adds, "He probably won't even come back." He locks the door and gives you one last thumbs up before heading in the opposite direction, calling out at the last second. “See you tomorrow!”
The forced smile on your face appears again (looks like this was a regular occurrence today), waving him goodbye.
Yeah… tomorrow.
Jimin was right. The handsome crying stranger was probably never coming back.
It has been a few weeks since you met him for the first time. Now, it feels like a distant memory. He hadn’t shown up to the cafe the day after the encounter, or the day after that, or the day after that, and eventually you’d come to the conclusion that he was probably never going to show his face again out of pure embarrassment. You can’t say you blame him. You’d be embarrassed too if you stared at and cried over a random stranger.
Still, you couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment... You'd kind of hoped you could figure out what his problem was, maybe ease his mind a little if you really did look like a past lover. You would make sure he knew that it wasn't you. What if he was avoiding the cafe because he literally thought you were someone else? Great… now you just feel bad.
"Y/n? Are you listening?" Jimin beckons over the phone.
"Huh? What?" You bounce back to reality, the soft comforter of your bed lying beneath you as you stare out the window. Thanks to your wonderful apartment search, you have a beautiful view of the city. Jimin had helped you find a place when you first moved here. The two of you had met when you visited to check out the first apartment options; he even took you out for a drink afterward to celebrate the first days' completion. Jimin had immediately clicked with you, as he does with everyone-- he was the kind of person to make friends insanely quickly. He must've been super popular in high school... unlike you.
"Y/n Y/l/n. I am giving you a chance to meet more people, and you're not even listening to me!" He cries, a light smack coming from the other end (probably from him slamming his hand on the table).
"Okay, okay-- I'm sorry. I'm listening now; what's up?"
With a deep sigh, he speaks again. "Party. My house. Tonight. It's not gonna be wild, don't worry... it's just a get-together with some of my friends, and you can have a few drinks if you would like to."
Gnawing at your bottom lip, you look over towards the clock on your nightstand. 5:00. "I don't know..." You begin, the bed shifting as you raise into a seated position. "I have to work tomorrow morn-"
"Already got your shift covered." He deadpans.
"What??"
"I already got your shift covered, so you have no excuse."
This sly guy.
"Who covered it?" You question, setting the audio to speaker-phone as you rummage through old text messages you haven't gone through (to prep for your "thank you for covering my shift" text message).
“Jin.” Noted.
“So…” Jimin continues, “are you coming?”
You can't even remember the last time you met new people, let alone gone to a party. Parties weren't necessarily your thing, especially with your busy schedule of workdays and auditions-- you just never had the time. You should be excited, right?
Well, you aren't.
"Jimin, I don't know… I'm not really a huge fan of parties." You mumble over the phone, picking at the lone string that popped out of its stitch on your comforter.
"Y/n, it's a small get-together, and it's not gonna be that kind of party. Believe me; it'll be really chill. It's just me, you, a few other coworkers, and some friends from my journalism class."
You chew at your bottom lip, looking over at your closet to see a single green cocktail dress that you hadn't worn in years. The memory of the dress was a good one… you had just finished up curtain call for The Addams Family and wore that dress to the after-party. It's a short sleeve, layered green dress that flows just over your knees, the same color sash tying the waist in a floppy bow. You blush at the memory of winning best dressed.
A pause, “Okay.” You conclude. “I’ll go.”
Jimin was honest about how chill it would be; soft music plays in the background as the group sits around the table playing cards. A basketball game is playing on the TV, desperate for attention as a player scores a 3-pointer, but no one is watching. Shuffling of cards is the only sound heard in the room as the game continues.
The atmosphere is calm… quiet…
“BULLSHIT.”
The immediate crumble of everyone’s mood causes the loud “HELL YEAH” that makes you jump in your seat.
"And that is how it's done, Ladies and Gentlemen." Jungkook (your fellow coworker) claps, his smile brighter than the sunset that seeps through the curtains on the opposite side of the room.
"And that's on cheating!" Jimin picks up the cards in the center of the table, gathering them clumsily back into a pile.
"It's called having skill," Jungkook replies, holding his hands up as he smirks at his opponents.
"No, it's called luck." Yoongi finalizes as he puts his hand of cards down on the table with a roll of his eyes. You haven’t met Yoongi before until tonight. He’s one of Jimin's friends from Journalism Class.
When you arrived, you decided to sit out of this round and learn to play before joining the game-- knowing you; you would've been crushed within the first minutes of playing. Card games weren’t exactly a skill of yours— board games on the other hand were where it’s at! That, and charades. For the sake of the party, a card game didn’t sound too bad this time around— so you poke at Jimin to give you the hand as he serves cards for everyone else.
“Wait, wait, wait—“ Jimin pauses, his hand disappearing beneath the table to grab his phone. “Hello?”
“I’m not Irish, so does luck really count?” Jungkook questions in a hushed whisper, nudging Yoongi in the side.
“Oh hey...yeah... it’s apartment 205.” Jimin continues.
“You’re so funny, Jk. Maybe you’ll actually become successful if you choose stand-up comedy rather than becoming a musician.” Yoongi replies nonchalantly, his cat-like eyes staring at the abandoned pile of cards before he seems to come to the decision to shuffle them himself. He gives you a small smile when you hold your hand out to signal that you’re joining in this round.
“Mhm, you can just walk on in! Doors unlocked… okay.. alright, see ya in a minute.” When Jimin's phone is down, Yoongi passes a hand of cards to him.
“Think you can beat me, Y/n?” Jungkook asks,”Since apparently these four can’t?” He motions to Yoongi and Jimin, glancing at the other two players of the game: Hoseok (Jimins other classmate) and his girlfriend, Faith.
“I think I can.” You say, smirking at the determined expression on Jungkooks face. Even if you weren’t very fond of card games, there was one thing you were even less fond of: losing.
“Mmm, might want to rethink that, but okay.” Jungkook replies. The two of you are death staring when the sound of the front door creaking open catches the attention of everyone else at the table. Jimin shoots out of his chair.
“Taehyung!”
You freeze.
"You-" He pauses, taking another sharp breath and running a hand through his hair. If you thought he couldn't get more attractive, you were wrong. "Do you know me?"
Attractive? Yes. Psycho?... possibly.
“I’m so sorry, there're so many people that come to visit us and sometimes I forget the regulars!” You apologize. “That’s my fault… remind me of your name again?”
"It's- It's-."
“Taehyung, you just missed me creaming everyone in bullshit.” Jungkook boasts. Your eyes are glued to the side of Jungkook's head, not daring to make eye contact with the source of your nerves the past few weeks.
“Oh did I?” The familiar, deep voice utters.
Okay.. you can’t help but look…
Holy—it’s actually him.
Immediate regret sinks into your soul when you see him. God, he’s even handsomer than you remember. A white woolen sweater hangs over a pair of his black pants, matched with white sneakers and accenting the head of dark wavy hair you’d been thinking about since you last saw him.
“Yep!” Jungkook continues. “And now Y/n’s about to get shitfaced too.”
The moment his eyes swiftly glance your way is the moment you crumble and turn your head back to Jungkook. You had hoped to make a sly remark, something along the lines of “in your dreams,” but you’re caught breathless from the tension in the room. The tension only the two of you are aware of. He must be tense too, right?
“I wouldn’t underestimate her.” You hear out of Taehyung's mouth, stealing a look at his face once more. He’s smirking at Jungkook, hanging his coat on the hook beside yours, oblivious of the way you’re basically dissecting his every move.
“Have you met Y/n?” Jimin questions, provoking Taehyung's eyes to fall back onto yours. This time, you don’t look away.
He doesn’t answer right away, making you more nervous than you should be— the silence deafening as you make to explain, “We-“
“No.” He states plainly, cutting you off. An innocent smile plays on his lips as he looks at Jimin and places his messenger bag beside the door.
No? Uhhh, was he not the guy who pretended to know who you were and cried in front of you without even explaining why? Nope, it’s definitely him.
“I’m Taehyung.” He calls in your direction, offering you a boxy smile and a small nod, “Don’t let Jungkook fool you. A girl pinched him when we were in grade school. He barely lasted five seconds before running away screaming.” Taehyung moved to the table, sitting beside the man he just brutally embarrassed.
“That girl was terrifying. She was way taller than all the other sixth graders. It was an unfair situation.” Jungkook protested, sinking in his chair as he shuffled the cards he held in his hand.
You couldn’t help but stare dumbly at Taehyung. Was he embarrassed of his outburst at the cafe that he just hopes you forgot about him? You guess you didn’t exactly meet each other, other than a few words exchanged before he disappeared out the door. He probably doesn’t want his friends to know about what happened. Or did he not recognize you and completely forgot about the whole ordeal?
Okay, it’s fine… totally fine.
“I’ll have to keep that in mind,” you laugh, “no more coming in late, Jk. Or I’ll have to pinch you.”
Jungkook merely rolls his eyes, taking a sip of his beer. You see the crinkle in Taehyung's eyes as he laughs, the boxy smile taking root on his face again… a smile you’ve begun to enjoy the look of.
Hey. Snap out of it. This guy is so confusing. That’s a red card.
You straighten up in your seat, catching Jimin's attention when you move towards the kitchen, motioning with your hand to signal that you’re getting another drink. You have a feeling you’re gonna need some more alcohol to get through the evening.
Jimins place is clean, every knick knack placed neatly where it belongs; accompanied by the smell of potted plants that he keeps by his windows. Little name tags are attached to the plant stems: Flo, Sprout, Bob. He names his plants. Sweet.
He, like you, has a great view of the city too, a mid-size window perched above his breakfast nook where a small potted plant (quotabley named “bean”) grows. The city is bustling below as you reach for a beer, shrugging off the fact that you hate beer, but at least the taste will distract you from Tae-
“Hey.” You hear a soft voice call from the kitchen archway. When you turn you nearly drop the bottle out of your hand. Taehyung gives you a soft smile.
“Hey! Uh.. did you want a beer, or are you a wine guy?” You question, cringing at how much higher your voice sounds at his close proximity.
“I— Sorry, neither.” He starts, shoving his hands into his pockets as he makes his way around the island. “I uh- I just wanted to talk to you about something.”
You nod slightly, “Yeah of course… what’s up?”
“Um,” he’s nervous, you notice. “I just wanted to apologize about the whole thing at the cafe a few weeks ago.. I was— not in the right state of mind.” He meets your eyes hesitantly, “you just look like someone I know from a long time ago and it kind of.. took me by surprise, I guess.”
Jimin was right. You offer him a smile, shaking your head in disbelief, “You know what, I truly thought that was the reason… It’s totally fine. I’m not who you think I am, by the way.”
A flicker of something crosses his features at your comment, something you can’t quite pick up, but he changes it quickly to a smirk. “Obviously.” He laughs, “I’m sorry if it made you uncomfortable.. I’m not weird, I swear.”
“Mmm, that’s what they all say.” You tease.
He laughs, a soft sound that you want to hear over and over again. “You’ve got me there.” He takes a pause, placing his hands on the island countertop. “Let’s start over? If that’s okay? I didn’t want to mention it when I came in because I wanted us to have a fresh start.”
You push down the questioning thought of who this woman he mistook you for was, not wanting to overstep any boundaries. “That’s totally okay.. clean slate?”
“Clean slate.” He finalizes.
“Straightforward,” You add, “I like it.”
He gives you a warm smile, the same edge in the way he looks at you dances in his eyes before he breaks it off, sliding the bottle of beer out of your own hand. “Actually, I think I will have a beer. You don’t seem like a beer drinker, anyway.” He turns quickly, smirking at you before striding out of the room. “Thanks, Y/n!”
Protestations die on your lips as he disappears from the room, your beer along with him. How rude. You can’t help the smile tugging at the corners of your lips as you turn back to the cupboard, skipping the beer and pouring yourself a second glass of wine. You weren’t a beer drinker, after all.
Although you weren’t one for parties, you couldn’t help but admit the fact that you were having a good time. No, a great time. All of you are seated in Jimins living room; a plate of chips sits on the coffee table, which was the hot spot of the night (considering there’s hardly any remaining). Others in the group still have a glass of alcohol in their hands, the tipsiness evident by the slurring of their words. You had stopped yourself after half of your second glass, playing it safe since you still have to walk home after the party. You weren’t much of a drinker anyway-- your family history being the root of this decision.
It isn’t the games that made the night this enjoyable, or the food, or the movie that is currently playing over Jimin's television (which, by the way, is Moulin Rouge, because half of the room enjoys musicals, and the other half enjoys regular movies. So, you decided to settle on a movie musical). None of that matters, except the fact that you’ve never felt this carefree in a long time.
For one night, you can put aside your cafe job, auditions, and never-ending to-do lists and just have fun. Real fun. Even in the audition rooms, it has never been fun for you. It’s been nerve-wracking to a fault and always ends with a “thank you for taking the time, but we’ve decided not to accept you this time around,” or a callback, which ultimately concludes with the same grueling fate.
But this is different.
This is a group of people who genuinely want to spend time with you and get to know you… with no “not this time’s” or open-ended questions.
Especially with Taehyung. You’re surprised at how quickly the two of you seemed to hit it off, despite the awkward introduction. Now, it feels like he’s known you for years… in the best way. You’re comfortable talking to him, chatting together during the movie about the plot points or songs you find specifically endearing. You had initially planned to sit next to Jimin… but ended up next to Taehyung on the couch.
It just happened.
He enjoys musicals as well, you learn. Maybe not as much as you do, but at least he doesn’t despise them. He’s one of Jimin’s friends from their shared art class. He loves the color brown. His favorite food is watermelon. He does illustrations for Jimins journalism projects (which, in your opinion, are exceptional from the photos he showed you during the movie while the others were engulfed in the film). He wishes to pursue traveling journalism, where he draws what he sees rather than taking pictures. His whole aura is warm… like a heated blanket that envelopes you whole when you feel him shift beside you on the sofa. A small reminder that he’s still there.
Okay, you’re liking his presence way too much.
He finds romance movies corny but a guilty pleasure nonetheless. This, the reason why he agreed to watch Moulin Rouge despite the cheesiness in the beginning. In the end, it was anything but cheesy.
"Well, that was stupid." Jungkook scoffs, slamming the remote onto the neighboring loveseats' armrest. The once loud room filled with music is now quiet from the after-effects of the movie.
“I told you it was sad!” Jimin exclaims. The two of you had seen this movie before in theatres… and this was nothing compared to how the ending hit the first time. “Y/N was nearly choking. She was crying so hard when we saw it.”
An immediate blush rises onto your cheeks as you shake your head in defiance, trying to hide the tears that had been stinging your eyes for the last thirty minutes. “Who wouldn’t cry at that??”
“Taehyung probably didn’t. He never cries.” Hoseok deadpans. Ha. You can’t help but remember the tear that ran down his face in the cafe… He never cries?
With a quick look over your shoulder, you find that Taehyung is no longer seated on the couch. When did he get up? You attempt to shrug off your curiosity, pivoting back towards the chip table where only sad little crumbs remain. You were worrying way too much over a man you quite literally just met tonight… even if it felt like you’ve known him for much longer.
Taehyung eventually reappeared, stating that he had to use the bathroom— you ignored the fact that it took him a solid 30 minutes to get back to the party. It wasn’t your place to ask any questions, especially since he lifted a smile onto his face the second he reentered the room. See, y/n… nothing to worry about.
It wasn’t long before you insisted you head home, knowing that you’d curse yourself in the morning if you stayed out past the sunrise. If you did, you’d sleep through tomorrow, and that would be awful. You’ve done this a few times… and every time, you felt like you had wasted an entire year of your life.
You move to grab your purse and jacket, which are hanging comfortably on the hook beside the front door. With a small smile, you bid everyone goodnight— smiling as they resume a card game around the table at one o’clock in the morning. It’s nice to know that the group of you hit it off… now; you can look forward to plenty of get-togethers in the future.
Your mind is bustling with all kinds of ideas: picnics in central park, late-night broadway shows, hangouts at the caf-
“Y/n!” The soft calling of Taehyung's voice causes you to halt near the exit, turning on your heel to see him jogging towards you. He had haphazardly thrown his jacket over him since it’s still being tugged onto his body as he runs. His hair becomes even more chaotic in his haste… Why do you want to run your hands through it?
“Hey!” You squeak, interrupting your thoughts before they trudged down a guilty road. “What are you doing? Weren’t you going to play another round?”
He gives you a smirk, catching his breath as he holds out your house keys. “You forgot these! You were really moving fast… sick of us already?”
“Wh— oh my god, thank you!” With a quick swipe of your hand, you’re stuffing your keys into your pocket with a grateful smile. “Also, hardly.”
You admire the way his eyes light up at your confession. “Well.. since you don’t want to leave us so quickly.. how about I walk you home?” He seems almost hesitant asking, but you can’t help but applaud him for actually taking the initiative to inquire.
You shake your head, pulling the strap of your purse farther up your shoulder. “You don’t have t-“
“I want to!” He cuts you off quickly, catching you by surprise as he moves past you to open the door. He glances back, taking in your reluctant expression, “It’s not safe this time of night Y/n… You shouldn’t be alone.“
You know he didn't mean anything by that statement… But the idea of someone genuinely caring and not wanting you to be alone makes your heart swell. Jimin cares about your safety of course, but this feels… Different.
This is the reason why you allow him to walk you home.
The snow crunches beneath your feet, like a symphony that beckons you home. You’ve been feeling exhaustion seeping into your bones for the last ten minutes, but Taehyung's occasional brush of his arm as he walks beside you keeps you wide awake. He doesn’t think to apologize for accidentally touching you, but you blame it on the time of night. Delusion.
“How long have you lived in New York?” You question, wrapping your coat tighter around you to kick out the nipping air.
“About a year now,” He responds, shuffling his feet, “though it feels like way longer. You?”
“Three years.”
Taehyung turns his head towards you, eyes wide. “Wow, way to one up me.” With a teasing smile he continues, “You must know this city like the back of your hand.”
The truth is… you don’t. You came here for the sole purpose of making it on Broadway... you never really took the time to focus on anything else. Part of you wishes you had learned more, craved more, wanted more with your life—then you wouldn’t be so miserable when the one thing you do want doesn’t work out. “Yeah… kind of.”
If he hears the somber tone of your voice, he ignores it, turning against the wind as he walks backwards down the sidewalk. “It’s overrated in my opinion.”
You raise your head at this, “Why is that?”
“Everyone here has dreams… and those dreams get crushed more often than not.” He shrugs, “No one cares if you want to succeed, only if you already have.”
You stare at him for a moment, awestruck by the weight of his words. “But,” he adds, turning back towards the wind, “the ones who never give up and continue to chase that dream can become successful. Despite all of the no’s they might face, they always hold on till they hear a yes. That sounds like true success to me.”
Turning your head, you stare at the side of his face— admiring the way his hair tosses back a bit against the harsh winter winds. His words hit you way deeper than he probably realized, sinking into your chest with an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. You’ve been contemplating recently on whether or not to give up on your dream… that maybe it just wasn’t going to work out for you. You have been trying for so long, and have repeatedly been let down. There was no way Taehyung could have known, which is why his words hit you as hard as they did. Despite the hardships, you’ve been here for three years and you’ve never given up or stopped trying to chase your dream.
That was an achievement, right?
“To be honest… I've heard a lot of no’s in my three years of being here.” You speak softly, tucking a fallen strand of hair behind your ear. “Sometimes it feels like there will never be a yes… but here I am. At least I'm still working— at a coffee shop, not on the stage.”
“It’s admirable that you keep going.” Taehyung glances at you over his shoulder. “It makes you different from a lot of people who have left the city when they faced failure. It’s something to be proud of. Plus, coffee shop or big stage, you’re in New York City and pursuing your gift. It’s special.”
When your eyes meet, you smile at him, feeling a sense of victory the longer you hold his gaze.
“Don’t give up, Y/n. No matter what.” He speaks genuinely, leaning towards you to nudge you gently on your shoulder. You can’t help but laugh at his playfulness, giving him a nudge in return before your eyes downcast to your winter boots. The snow on the ground is fresh, powdery and sticking to the toes of your shoes. “Plus,” He adds, sucking in the chilly air, “you've got what others don’t have…”
This time when you meet his eye he has a serious expression, making sure he has your full attention as you round the corner towards your apartment building. His gaze is genuine, captivating… and a part of you hopes that the close proximity of your apartment wouldn’t cut this moment short. Finally, he speaks.
“You have passion.”
Taehyung's words weigh on you for the rest of your night. It started off as something simple, looking up audition songs for an upcoming off-broadway show your agent was telling you about. Then, you went to learning it. After that, putting on makeup. And finally, completely forgetting about your sleep schedule and filming an entire audition tape in your room at 2 in the morning (and you were belting… your poor neighbors). It wasn’t until four that you finally turned in for the night, not bothering to take off your makeup or get changed-- simply falling onto your pillow and blacking out the moment you hit it. You were definitely sleeping the next day away… but at that moment, you didn’t mind. Having a day off from your busy schedule wouldn’t be so bad.
“I sent in an audition tape two nights ago.” You speak confidently, wiping down the back counter that’s littered with coffee grounds. They stick to the rag like glue, tiny dots scattered along its white surface. If it weren’t for your apron,
and your expertly rolled up white turtleneck sweater, you would look alot like this rag right now.
“Did you?” Jimin questions from the bar, sleeving the cup before placing it on the handoff counter.
“Christopher! Medium cappuccino!” He calls, multitasking while he cranes his neck to still hear you.
“I did. I feel really good about this one..” You add, meeting him beside the bar as he lifts the pitcher up and down to create the latte-art of a flower in the center of the mug. You have tried sooooo many times to make latte art… and every time it ended up looking like a glob. A big, distorted snowball. Jimin was the master of latte art, always finishing it off beautifully with a whip of his wrist. The foam atop telling a story. “It was so late-- I was totally out of it… and yet I actually enjoyed myself while filming it. I just imagined being there.. In center stage.”
“I’m happy for you, Y/n!” He smiles, turning to place the hot mug next to the cappuccino.
“Caleb! Medium caramel latte!”
He was only half listening to you. The cafe was bustling, so it truly wasn’t Jimin's fault that he was sidetracked— but nothing could hold back the small smile that played at the edge of your lips. You had actually enjoyed singing for the first time in a while.. all because of Taehyung's Academy Award winning pep talk. Who knew that all you needed was for someone to tell you like it is. With a minuscule smile, you turn back towards the counter and lift the latte you’d whipped up this morning to your lips. Your distorted snowball is fully on display at the top.
Despite the busyness, the front register is deserted, giving you time to think for a moment about the pep talk... or rather, the person who gave you it.
“I think Taehyung likes you.” Jimin deadpans.
Uhhh… You nearly spit out your snowball at that— clearing your throat as you set it down slowly onto the wooden countertop. He speaks as if this is a natural conversation starter… it’s not.
“I’m sorry?” You croak.
“Taehyung.” He repeats, turning his head in your direction with a knowing smirk. “I think he likes you.”
You give him a scoff of disbelief, watching as yet another group of regulars enter through the door. “That’s not true, he just doesn’t know me… so he made an effort to talk to me.” If you weren’t studying the group, you would've seen Jimin giving you a scrutinized look.
So, now you have his attention.
“Y/n. It’s so obvious… He spent the entire night talking to you, he left moments after you did to give you your keys and he never came back. If that isn’t someone who’s interested, I don’t know what is.” Jimin is an expert at multitasking, finishing off two drinks at the same time and calling them out.
“Well, Jimin, when people don’t know each other, they get to know each other. It’s this thing called talking and becoming friends.” The sentence hangs in the air as the doorbell chimes, signaling that yet another customer has entered the cafe and into the swarm of regulars, but the two of you disregard the sound and continue on through your bickering.
“I’m just saying, Taehyung doesn’t usually talk to girls.” Jimin adds, wiping his hands off on the white rag seated beneath his espresso machine. “Even if they wanted his attention, he didn’t give it to them. I mean— he’s nice to girls, don’t get me wrong.. but he’s never talked to them like he did with you on game night. I don’t think he’s dated anyone since he got here.”
“He’s career driven.” You say quickly.
If you thought his smirk couldn’t get any wider, you were wrong. “Yeah, girls don’t know that about him— meaning he told you, and not other girls.” Jimin deadpans.
You stare blankly at him. There’s no way. No way that a guy as attractive as Taehyung would even think about looking at you like that. There’s just no way. You’ve never had a boyfriend... or even a guy friend, until Jimin. Eventually, you’d accepted the fact that maybe you just weren’t that interesting. Maybe you weren’t pretty enough. Maybe you couldn’t flirt…. okay, you definitely couldn’t flirt— but that’s besides the point.
“He’s not interested in me.” You conclude.
“He is.” Jimin counters.
“He’s not.”
“He so is.”
“He’s so not.”
“Y/n. I swear to you. He’s interested and you need to shoot your shot.” He whisper-screams, throwing the rag in his hand onto the bar.
“Taehyung is not-“
A clearing of someone’s throat from beyond the register cuts your argument short, nearly making you lose your balance when you see who the source was.
You’re fairly certain you’ve turned pale.
Taehyung stands in front of you, eyeing between the two of you with an awkward expression. God, how long has he been standing there? “I figured I should step in before the two of you start fist fighting.”
“Hey!” The shrill of your voice causes you to wince.
“Hey.” He says with a smile, folding his arms in front of him and raising his eyes to the menu above your head. You can’t help the glare you send towards Jimin, who's notably holding back his laughter as he moves to the blender, the station farthest from the register. Ridiculous.
“What can we get for you?” You ask routinely, trying not to make it obvious that you were just talking about him… and praying that he wasn’t there to hear what the two of you were talking about.
“Hmm…” He looks especially good today, wearing a brown, long coat and a brown plaid scarf around his neck. He wasn’t kidding when he said his favorite color was brown, that’s for sure. It suits him. His hair is wavy, flowing to a point just under his eyebrows with a split off center, giving you the tiniest glimpse of his forehead. “How about an americano with hazelnut, and some cream?”
“We can do that for ya!” You have to force yourself to stop looking at him, pressing the buttons to ring up his order before you forget. You nearly overlook ringing up the hazelnut syrup. Why were you so dazed? He’s already placed his credit card into the chip reader, but your foggy brain asks anyway. “Anything else?”
“Yes, actually.” He speaks as you move towards the bar beside the register. Grabbing an empty pitcher, you pour the milk inside and reach for the steamer. He drops a dollar into the tip jar, not giving you enough time to thank him for the unnecessary effort before he speaks again. “Are you free later?”
