Hello! Those Blue Lock matchups look cool! Can I request you do one for me?
I'm a transmasc bisexual guy who uses he/they pronouns. I am the easily excitable sort, especially when it comes to things I love. Granted, there are a lot of things I love, but I'd say anime and video games are my main hobbies. I also love to workout (I've been on hiatus since the lockdown tho and wanna go back soooo bad). Ooh, and I have a soft spot for anything cute or scary: I'm the kind of person to read Junji Ito while being surrounded by Sanrio merch.
I've been told I'm easy to befriend and approach, and while I agree, maintaining relationships of any kind is hard for me. This is ESPECIALLY true with romantic relationships, as someone who is questioning demiromantic. I crave love and affection, but asking for it is scary. Despite that, I love freely: despite my own cheery exterior, a good chunk of my closest friends are on the stoic, maybe even gloomier side. But I still love them, and somehow, they love me.
I guess an ideal partner would be someone who is caring for me and patient with the fact that despite my exterior as someone who is generally optimistic of humanity as a whole, I have such severe trust issues within my own personal relationships that I willingly shut others out. I want someone who would love me the same even at my lowest point. A rock. An anchor. Someone who will be there after my highest highs and lowest lows to help me pick up the pieces. In turn, I hope I can give them a reason to smile too.
Uh, I hope this will be enough for you to go off of! If not, let me know!
Your Blue Lock Matchup: Rin Itoshi
Rin might not seem like the most obvious choice, but his quiet strength, reliability, and ability to match your depth of emotion make him the partner who can ground you while still appreciating your vibrant energy.
Rin’s stoicism and introspective nature are the perfect counterbalance to your excitable and outwardly optimistic demeanor. He’s not one for grand declarations of love, but his loyalty and care run deep. His consistent presence would give you the stability you crave, especially during your lows. He might not always have the words to comfort you, but his actions would speak volumes—he’d be there to sit beside you in silence or lend an ear when you’re ready to open up.
Rin’s quiet demeanor belies a keen sense of observation. He’d notice the subtle shifts in your mood, understanding when you need space or when you’re seeking affection but can’t ask for it outright. His patience would allow you to process your trust issues without pressure, and over time, he’d help you feel safe enough to lean on him completely.
Rin’s serious, goal-driven personality would mesh well with your passionate, excitable energy. Your love for life and ability to find joy in both the cute and the creepy would intrigue him, giving him reasons to pause and appreciate the smaller moments. Meanwhile, his discipline and dedication would inspire you to get back into your workouts or stick with your goals. Together, you’d balance each other—his quiet determination and your lively optimism creating a dynamic and uplifting partnership.
Though Rin may come off as cold or distant to others, you’d quickly become his exception. Your warm and open-hearted approach would gradually chip away at his walls, and he’d find himself drawn to your light. You might even catch glimpses of his softer side—small smiles, subtle compliments, or moments when he indulges your Sanrio obsession without complaint.
Rin would be your steadfast support system, always there to weather the storms of your emotions. You’d bring color and light into his otherwise serious world, showing him the joy in life’s simpler pleasures. He’d challenge you to push past your limits, and you’d remind him to take a break and enjoy the little things.
Rin’s reserved nature might initially make it difficult for him to express his emotions, which could clash with your need for affection (even if unspoken). However, his actions—like remembering your favorite things or quietly sticking by your side during tough times—would show his love in his own way. Additionally, his bluntness might sting at times, but it’s never meant to hurt; he simply values honesty.
Rin Itoshi may not be the loudest or most traditionally romantic partner, but his unwavering loyalty and deep capacity for love make him the anchor you’re searching for. In return, your boundless energy and ability to see the beauty in life would give him a reason to smile—a rarity for someone like Rin.

reflection on a weekend in tokyo
the train ride to from kyoto to tokyo was the lowest point in my trip. it’s hard to explain but once we got on the train someone had taken our luggage spot and that just set off a chain of unfortunate events, i ended up going for a stress relieving smoke in the smoking room where i openly cried in front of two old japanese men. the trip had finally gotten the better of me and i called my parents to hear some friendly voices. crying the whole way to tokyo and missing mt fuji as it was under a cloud was definitely the lowest point of my whole trip haha. once we made it to our hotel still with more hiccups along the way that i don’t even want to recall, i ordered two meals on uber eats and promptly devoured them like an animal in my hotel room before passing out. i told my friends who were staying in the same hotel that i needed alone time and probably wouldn’t see them all weekend, this was to ensure that i had time to relax and return to my usual happy go lucky self.
the next morning i went to the omotesando/shibuya area and explored the many cafes and galleries. it was so lovely, i was starting to feel a lot more comfortable in tokyo. i visited anicoremix gallery to see an exhibition by tsunotsuno. he’s an artist that i’ve been following for a long time now and this was his first ever exhibition. it was really inspiring to see an artist i’ve watched evolve, finally exhibit. he was in the gallery when i visited and i desperately wanted to talk to him and tell him how proud i was but i was too shy. i really regret not speaking to him. later i visited laforet mall in harajuku which houses lots of small designers and artist’s creations. i bought lots of stickers and postcards and took lots of photos. i found the whole mall to be a wealth of inspiration. i finished that day with a visit to span gallery, near tokyo station. they were showing a suehiro maruo exhibition, which i was not super interested in however i felt i needed to see it as i was in japan and he is a very iconic manga artist. his work is often disturbing, grotesque and violent which i honestly enjoy. once inside the gallery i gained a whole new appreciation for his work. i’m a sucker for anything monochrome to seeing his original black and white manga panels was truly amazing. of course when i was done i raided the gift shop and bought myself prints of said panels. while i was leaving the gallery, which was tiny by the way, i found a book case full of artist books and merch. i went a little crazy and ended up spending a lot... i got books and merch from junji ito, katsuya terada, shintaro kago and yamamoto takato as well as an artist book from a doll artist who goes by ayumi, i was not familiar with her work until i bought her book and now i’m a big fan.
the next day i explored koenji which reminded me of Melbourne's eastern suburbs in appearance. while there i bought a sterling silver ring with a four leafed clover on it that i’ve been wearing everyday since i got back to Melbourne, praying it brings me some much needed luck. in the evening i had a hair appointment which was lovely, i left the salon with a cleaned up version of my old hair and a whole lot of self confidence, that night i ended up getting dinner with my friends as i finally felt as though i was back to emotional normalcy.

@unladielike said: [ tbh, i can see vivian and sonia actually meeting online at some point, especially since she’s very active on twitter and the anime subreddit. she, like sonia, also talks A LOT, so their conversations would be very lively and long. but she’ll go by the pseudonym, viiviitan, and her display icon would be a white haired anime girl, so sonia wouldn’t know what she looks like irl. she will, however, mention her name is vivian, use a lot of kaomojis, and nickname her ‘Sosie’ at some point ]
I thought it was easier to reply here, as the character count won’t matter.
But yes, I could definitely see this! Sonia is very much the type to provide detailed analyses and descriptions of various things in her conversations. And lucky for her, she has translation software on all of her devices: in her younger years, or during her first year or so in Japan, she often misplaced some words and phrases or simply used outdated terms. But spending more time speaking mostly, if not only, Japanese helped her phrase sentences better and use more accurate, or up to date, terminology. But where her digital writing was concerned? She had the help of translation software for that, something likely programmed for her and her family’s use, so she sounds much more fluent online than she initially does when speaking languages.
Of course, if Vivian and Sonia are corresponding in English online, she likely makes fewer mistakes. Some, but not many. This was always one of my quibbles with Sonia in the game: or at least, how she’s portrayed beyond what you see in canon. Because she’s a very bright and wise person (not ‘common sense,’ but book smart), I definitely believe she’d learn quickly from her language mistakes and not carry on with them in her older years. By the time she graduates Hope’s Peak, she’s making far fewer, if any, language errors.
But back to online correspondence:
Sonia would have nothing royal, princessy, or even blonde haired anime girls in her profile. She’d probably have a creepy-cute icon, or some sort of horror anime icon or username, that she goes by online and, if we’re going by current anime trends, is probably thrilled by the debut of the Chainsaw Man anime and is recapping episodes weekly in Twitter discussions and Reddit threads.
So it may be a bit jarring that the online user who’s so passionate about Junji Ito works, Chainsaw Man, and other similar creepy titles turns out to be this elegant, sweet, practically glowing European princess. I wonder if there would ever be a formal meetup of users from a particular forum, or Sonia’s first venture to an anime convention, or just asking casually in chat “Hi, I’m going to be in this city for work, what should I do there?” and then Vivian (or any muse really) starts volunteering ideas and meetups.
Poor Sonia trying to navigate a convention though. She’d have to wear a disguise and not even cosplay necessarily (she wouldn’t want to appear in too many photos and get potentially found out!). She’d need a full mask to cover her face, or at least a wig, some contacts, and some casual and possibly shapeless clothing to hide her true identity.
All for the sake of raiding the vendor’s hall to get some exclusive merch. She’s nothing if not dedicated to her hobbies.

Tsubaki headcanons???? I want to play more into and the potential creeps she can give. Girl totally loves Junji Ito
OH YEAH BABYYYY! okay so let’s get a little list going
you’re absolutely right tsu loves junji ito and just horror in general
whenever it’s her turn to choose a film for movie night it’s like. mandy or the lighthouse or something along those lines (slightly incomprehensible)
also tsubaki lesbian
she’s the queen of self care like she’ll light candles and chill in the bath with a fancy bath bomb
but also I have this hc that weapons often do like weapon care stuff like sharpening their blades, not really because it’s needed to keep up performance but just because it’s a bit soothing
so basically a self care day for tsubaki is a nice cup of tea, bath foam and oil for her chains
also I think that tsubaki should be even more of a big dork, which is the leadup for me to say she and blackstar have a secret handshake that they spent weeks perfecting and it WAS her idea
anyway back to horror queen tsubaki she can collect horror merch as a treat
she will drag the gang along to flea markets to look for super old editions of classic horror movies
like she owns some on vhs even though she doesn’t have a vhs player it’s just for the nerd criteria
she reads a lot of classic horror and will go on rants about the evolution of vampires in media to anyone who will listen
she and maka bond over that even though they have slightly different tastes (maka’s in it for the classic lit and tsubaki is just in it for the original gruesome stuff)
basically tsubaki supremacy (tsupremacy) thank you and goodnight

Ooh, asks! 2, 4, 8, 18, 21, 29, and 32 (other than Death Note)
2. What are you obsessed with right now? I’ve bought a ton of Junji Ito’s mangas and merch. I really love his art style. And contrary to what most people have said, I actually liked the anime…
4. What piercings do you want? I really wish I could get my ears pierced again but it’ll be the third time I’ve done it. My earlobes are just too sensitive, it hurt like a bitch every time I tried to put an earring in my ear so I just gave up.
8. What’s your favorite show to binge? Bob’s Burgers, it’s so funny. If I have any children, I want them to be just like Gene.
18. What tattoos do you want? I want a tattoo of L’s logo on my inner wrist and a sunflower on my pinky.
21. Describe your best friend. I’ve only known her for almost a year but she’s honestly the best friend I’ve ever had. She’s always willing to listen and she knows how to make me feel better.
29. What’s the most overrated movie? Back to the Future, it’s so bizarre. I don’t see what people love about it.
32. If you could live in a fictional world, what world would you pick? Twin Peaks, I want to uncover all of the mysteries hidden in those woods.

Statue, candle, doll -razorteeths
Statue- Who is your favorite artist?
Junji Ito, his works inspire and connect to me deeply and he just seems like a genuinely good person over all, despite the type of content he can create.
Candle- what is your favorite scent?
The scent of fresh decay, like a body in the starting phases of decomposition. It’s oddly comforting to me.
Doll- do you collect anything?
I do, many things actually. Bones, and wet specimens, merchandise from specific music artists and artists in general, lots of clothing. I have a small collection of lava lamps I want to expand and also BNHA villain merch.

Crunchyroll Expo 2019
This is mainly in response to the things I heard at the feedback panel. 1. I have so much sympathy for the staff who were the panelists. I also hope they don't give too much weight to the criticisms they heard there. The panel seems to self-select for the most obnoxious tone-deaf non-central attendees, given that the vast majority of attendees were enjoying themselves elsewhere, instead of bombarding the staff with their hare-brained suggestions. 2. From what I experienced, Crunchyroll Expo has a distinct identity as a large anime convention: succeeding strongly where Japan Expo USA failed, as a convention centered around professional guests, and even moreso around guests from Japan. I'd say all of the panels were associated with people working in the entertainment industry in some form. Thanks to the Crunchyroll origins, they had the connections to be credible to the Japan guests, the clout and name recognition to attract attendees early on, the capital to fund the production value, and very importantly, the local expertise to much better handle location logistics than JXUSA could. I quite like this distinct identity, and CRX shouldn't stray too far from that. It's not Fanime, PAX, or SacAnime, and it shouldn't try to be. There were lots of suggestions at the feedback panel for more community events, and I wouldn't want the con to go too far in that direction. Keep gaming centered on Japanese arcade stuff, with maybe some Japanese game E-sports, but don't go full LAN party with any games allowed. Add a tabletop room, but don't let just any American/US game be there, try to introduce attendees to specific Japan-associated games, like hanafuda, kabufuda, or karuta-based games, and the few translated Japan TTRPGs. The point is, CRX is a con where attendees are funneled towards learning new things about Japan's entertainment industry, through industry professionals, and to experience new anime. Don't let things non-central to that take up too much air. Again, the vast majority of people weren't attending that feedback panel exactly because they were enjoying all of the central content of the con, so the people complaining about the con not being about other stuff, trying to turn CRX into other cons, were atypical attendees. 3. On that note, I was very impressed by the breadth of industry aspects showcased. Previous cons tended to be actor-focused, both in guests and in which panels were popular with attendees. Thanks to work by sakuga enthusiasts, especially the folks behind Sakugabooru, lots of people are paying more attention to technical staff. CRX, too, did a great job making the case to prospective panel attendees why they should be excited to see these guests. The moderators would give the audience context, and the guests themselves would often be just as excited to see the clips of their own work, giving them inspiration for commentary to make, and the live drawings, of course, were just great. Major kudos to the moderators, in general. You could tell that they were all passionate about their guests, had thought really in-depth about the questions to ask, and they often had a nice chemistry with the guests, which helped bring out some less stiff answers than might be expected. (Translator quality varied as usual, but I know that the guests are usually bringing their own, and not something CRX can control. And there were certainly some stellar translators there, too.) But yeah, breadth. There were directors, producers, animators/storyboarders/character designers, mangaka, all sharing their special insights, and I was very pleased by how much music content there was, as someone who tends towards that part of the industry. The only aspect that was arguably underrepresented would be writers (script writing/series composition for shows, or LN authors). 4. I was also very impressed by the scheduling. Guests were almost all slotted for 2-3 events, and events overlapped so that if I missed a particular guest on one day, I could catch them at another event at least once on another day. As with the previous point, the way the breadth was overlapped was that even if I attended all of the music-related panels, I was still attending panels for all of the other aspects of the anime creation process throughout the day. Very excellent scheduling. The only panels that I missed (weeping for missing Junji Ito's kitties) were because I let my guard down after Friday, and didn't camp for some events that ended up full room. And even then, those few panels probably didn't need insane amounts of camping, either, just 15-30 mins. That's a heavenly amount of camping, when I'm used to having to block in 2 hours before anything I want to attend, at other cons. Thanks very much for the large capacities afforded to every panel. 5. Criticism: screenings, of all things, should not ever go off schedule. Panels, I can understand, because panellists might run late, but there's no reason for a screening to start late, unless there was technical difficulties. I had scheduled a particular screening which would end 15 minutes before the next panel I would attend. Instead, the screening started over 15 minutes late, and I missed a good chunk of the end because I had to leave for that other panel. Luckily this screening was for something already released in the US, so I'll be able to finish the movie, but there were a few unique premiere screenings at the con, and that room being off schedule could have soured other attendees' experiences a lot more than it did mine. 6. Minor criticism: The app wasn't accessible on my phone. I was able to get by with internet, as new schedule content was added on the website as well (and thank you for that!), but I wouldn't get updated time stamps as the app users did. Please don't assume that everyone has the newest OSes when writing the app in the future. My phone isn't even that old, only a couple of years. On that note, I wasn't thrilled with the format of the schedule. With the way everything overlapped in offset intervals, sometimes it wasn't obvious where events in different locations were in relation to each other, and I did miss some panel content once because I had misread the time, due to how the single-column scrolling obscured the amount of overlapping. The location filters do nothing to help with that. I understand that a traditional spreadsheet timetable (location columns, timestamp rows) isn't sexy aesthetics, and has very unsexy horizontal scrolling in a smartphone context, but that's actually where the oversized newspaper con guide could shine, or in a traditional booklet, a foldout insert. (Btw, I thought that the newpaper con guide was fine. It gives more space and bigger font size for reading accessibility, and was likely cheaper to print and assemble than a booklet, which needs glossy paper, more pages, stiffer folding, and required stapling.) 7. Very minor criticism that CRX may not be to control: as said before, I tended towards the music content of the con, but only Flow had their music on sale at the con. So there would be all of these artists promoting their work, and I'd be fired up about them after their panels...but there would be nowhere in the con for me to throw money at them. I understand that bringing stuff to sell is on the artists, but maybe coordinate some sort of "music guest merch" table somewhere, so that the logistics burden for selling products is lowered for all of them? Anime NYC did it for their Anisong Matsuri lineup last year, where there was a single merch table, manned by a few cashiers for all of the artists there, so that each artist didn't have to provide their own sales staff, and shipping costs of importing the stuff was also reduced because of consolidation. Even for artists who don't have physical CDs, they could do something like sell a code to redeem the purchase later. But yeah, overall, I had a great time at the con! I learned a lot, laughed a lot, danced a lot, and what more can you ask for?

2019 Summary of Art
It’s easy to say that 2019 wasn’t really my best year, in terms facing online drama and IRL problems, but it doesn’t mean I didn’t improve my craft. Sure my mental health may have pressured me as I try to get things done, but not everything can be ready in a week when you do work for others as well. It’s also important to take breaks when necessary, in order to take care of yourself.
The death of my younger brother really have took a huge toll on me and my family’s state of minds, it actually ended up changing our lives. Let’s just say, it hasn’t been the same; waking up to not hear any screaming, having snacks filled in the kitchen cabinets, sodas in the fridge and not in hiding. Funny how traditions you dealt with on a daily bases, just… vanishes…
There were also moments, where I doubt on whether I can even reach the goals I want to achieve, as a content creator. Despite all those troubles though, I still managed to pull through, and continued on trying to improve. IDK when Gravity Rider will get back into the spotlight again, until that happens, it’ll continue to still be in development ’till ready. Hopefully with some extra help from my boyfriend, since he’s actually doing a binge play through of the entire Kingdom Hearts saga rn (which is the main inspiration for the series), lol.
I’m actually proud on how my anatomy has been getting better, with slightly more realistic bodies, heads, and poses. It’s been nice to get out of “same-face syndrome hell”, with the OCs I’ve been making too. I even ended up with a few project ideas I plan to make, to get back into webcomics again. There are still a few things to I need to work on; such as complex backgrounds, anatomy placements, and maybe some depth perception. Just need to study more on actual photos of places and people.
Some obsessions had phase through this year as well, such as reading through most of Junji Ito’s works, getting into Splatoon, that weird Lilo and Stitch binge I had after going to Maui, and getting back into Pokemon. Even got myself into new series’ such as Fire Force and Hazbin Hotel.
I’ve also managed to get a few goals done for this year, such as opening for commissions, made a merch store, and providing speedpaints. I’ve also been thinking on how I could branch out my videos and maybe do some commentary on certain topics (like every generic artist would…); but I’m curious on what you guys would like to see, feel free to give suggestions if any.
My resolutions for the upcoming year would probably be trying to stay more positive; it may be somewhat impossible since you can’t avoid the drama that happens online, especially when it comes to media franchises, but hearing my online superior talking about them really affected my mental state, and I really don’t wanna go through it again… Another one would probably be me trying to be more active and try to talk to people more, I can’t help that I always have a hard time speaking out what’s on my mind, but I at least wanna share my thoughts with everyone.
Despite all the trouble and pain me and my family got through, I’m truly thankful to everyone who came by to give their support. The fact that I have nearly hundreds of people following me, not only loving my art, but willing to stick by and watch me grow as an artist, really means so much. I want to do all that I can to keep inspiring others, as well as help them. Even if I’m not as big as all the other artists out there, I’ll keep striving forward ’till my dreams have been made. Thank you all for being with me this far, I really appreciate it. :3
