Hey my name is Dante, I live in the Midwest with three of my best friends. We have four cats, one of which is my babyman whom I love very dearly.

His name is Latke Library Card Mango (LLCM). He's very orange and he's the light of my boyfriend, Kris, and I's life.

A few months ago, latkes chronic bladder stones condition acted up which resulted in two emergency vet visits and a week long stay with his actual vet to get the stone removed.

It was the size of a chickpea.

Here's a photo of his post surgery when he had a nakie tummy. He was very very happy to see us.

He's since recovered, but the cost of this put us back around 1300 dollars in total. He's now on a special diet with rather pricey food to prevent this from happening but it might still act up eventually.

We've paid down some of his debt, but the interest is making it become more and more as we try to pay it down.

On top of this, our pipes backed up into our basement and refused to work suddenly a few weeks ago. We live in a house that is over a century old, and the clay pipes keep getting roots growing into them that causes them to not drain.

The roto had to come out and high pressure the roots out to clear them (which required expensive equipment), This put us back another grand.

To add to everything, our 700+ auto insurance bill is due in November, which is the worst time for this bill to need due, but both myself and Kris drive over ten miles to work during different shifts on opposite ends of town- neither of our jobs have public transit anywhere near them.

We are currently barely making ends meet-

I am a lunch lady at a public high school. I love my job. I feed kids who possibly don't even eat at home some days. I do work I am proud of.

However, I can only work around 25 hours a week without risking losing my insurance as a disabled person. My job does not have longer hour positions available, and I am too disabled to work more than this without ruining my body like I have done in the past.

I have been going without buying groceries out of fear that what little money I have in my account will be needed in an emergency. I will be out of work for a week this month, around Thanksgiving, and during Xmas break- unpaid due to me working in a school. Me being out also means no guaranteed meal every day.

Kris works in a factory. He is currently working 55+ hours a week to make what we can to pay off the bills and keep our house. He only has one and a half knees that hurt all the damn time and is barely eating either just to afford everything. His factory keeps calling for sudden shutdown weeks with little notice at the worst times, and he's the main breadwinner in the house for us.

The other two in our household, one is severely disabled and can barely work 10 hr/week (he is waiting on hearing back to receive SSI) on top of having multiple medical appointments a week to figure out what is wrong with his body and why it keeps failing. The other is a freelance artist who is working her butt off to make money while carting the previous to appointments nearly every day. She is full up on commissions at the moment, but when she opens them I'll reblog her posts.

I really didn't want to make this post. I hate asking for help. But we are drowning and there's no sign of land. None of us can afford to live on our own, nor can we move back in with our parents for various reasons.

All I'm asking for is some help. I don't care how much. Five dollars is five dollars. Five dollars is half an hour less we have to kill ourselves to make ends meet.

Even if we don't make the full amount, every dollar will help us get a bit closer to paying this stuff down so we can afford gas and regular grocery trips again instead of having to save up to go once a month like we are currently doing.

Our goal is 2000 dollars.

Yes, this is the high amount. I do not believe we will ever reach it. I can hope we can raise this much at some point.

But for now that's the dream number.

It's the number that is looming over our heads, telling us to pay up or lose our home.

It's not something we need this very moment, but just what we need in the next few months to be able to afford living without destroying our body or working three jobs/ridiculous hours.

Thinking about mcd ages since i am watching through season 1 for the first time in 9 years and these are the ones I’ve been settling on so far:

Aphmau: 26. It’s how old she actually was at the time the series started and it feels like it fits. Perfect. No notes.

Garroth: 27-28. Hes older, more experienced. Lots of shit has happened to him and he acts older and wiser than most of the cast. But he's still young, something aphmau comments on when she sees his face. And it makes sense in relation to zenix’s age.

Zenix: 19. He acts volatile and erratically like a teenager and he would’ve been 11 or 12 when garroth found him as a kid.

Laurence: 25. Just a little younger than aphmau. Acts a bit immaturely (flirting Casanova ladies man) but mature enough to deal with his problems like an adult. (Mostly)

Dante: 22. i feel (especially with how shocked garroth and Laurence are later that he kicks their asses in the 15 year time skip) that he is the younger brother of the trio of guards. While Dante is mature he also was forced to grow up fast so it doesnt contradict his younger age. Also with his backstory of gene fucking up his whole life when he was 12 i dont want him to be without a family for too long ;;

Gene: 29. I think he was 19 when he ruined Dante’s life. so however old Dante is, Gene’s 7 years older.

Zane: 23-24 at first i was gonna have him the same age as aphmau because the two of them are parallels, but a young little shit who thinks he’s wise and drunk on power is better. Also, If hes younger than Laurence it makes that moment in the S1 finale where he called him “little Laurence” really funny.

Vylad: 20-21. he;; He’s just a babey;;; gone too soon;;;

Katelyn: 25. Same age as Laurence. Still young enough that rage and power come naturally to her, but with the energy to back it up.

Nichole: 21. I think that her and garroth were getting arranged to be married during a time where the age gap was really uncomfortable (14 - 20) which would add more layers to why both of them were so staunchly against it.

Lucinda: 27. This is apparently confirmed according to the wiki and i agree i think thats a good age.

Kawaii-Chan/Nana: 24. naive but utimately skilled at her craft that would take years to master.

How does the story change with Vergil and Dante swapped?

I didn’t shake up a lot of the plot, at least for major stuff (Temen-Ni-Gru, Mundus, Argosax, Fortuna, etc.), but because of the differences in Vergil’s personality/way of thinking, some things are done differently. An example is his time on Fortuna, the first time; he’s probably not keeping his identity so far under wraps that it would be hard to connect the odd white-haired foreigner who showed up on the island nine months back to the sudden appearance of a white-haired baby on the steps of the orphanage. And given that Vergil Has No Tact when looking for information he feels entitled to, the scene in Deadly Fortune where he breaks into Sparda’s old bedroom while Sanctus is in there still happens, so Sanctus connects the father/son dots far, far earlier.

Is Vergil a little more laid-back, or is he still cold and serious? And by contrast, is Dante now cold and serious, or is he still laid-back?

Vergil’s not too different, aside from the fact that he has a social life now. More likely to show an emotion that’s not cold indifference. He has walls to break down, of course, but that comes with all the loss he's been through. Vergil also is not against killing humans still, he just doesn’t do it much because, 1) what’s the point, and 2) it’s unfortunately illegal. But if needed and deserved, he has no qualms.

Dante’s… well, if you’ve read Visions of V, take the little kid Dante you saw there, crank him up a bit, add trauma-induced mania, and hand him Rebellion. He really, really wants to play with his brother. He gains power, but only because getting stronger makes his inevitable fight with Vergil all the more interesting. If the fight’s not fun, what’s the point? After all, all he wanted was to play with his brother before everything went wrong.

Is Dante now Nero's father, or is it still Vergil? If it's still Vergil, is the Lady In Red more involved in their lives?

As I’m sure you gathered in the first answer, Vergil is still Nero’s father! 

His trip to Fortuna was less guided by a need for power, but a need for information on Sparda solely. From what I got in my (still unfinished) reading of Deadly Fortune, Dante, and probably also Vergil, didn’t know a lot about Sparda aside from “he was our father”, so in the years after he was orphaned, Vergil was probably trying to find all the information he could on their father. Vergil was fortunate enough to meet someone who would help him navigate Fortuna’s city and culture; a woman his age named Calla. She and Vergil grew close in the months he stayed in Fortuna, but as Vergil’s search for answers on his father dug deeper, he began to feel that his presence alone would put her in danger, as Sparda’s did Eva. So he departed, with a promise that he would return. He returned nine years later to the unfortunate news that Calla was no longer alive and didn’t stick around for much longer afterwards.

How do the events of DMC3 and DMC5 differ? 

DMC3 (or AWS1); goes about the same, aside from smaller details like Vergil doesn’t absolutely wreck his shop fighting demons. Dante raised the Temen-Ni-Gru for the sole purpose of a good fight with Vergil and everything else came secondary. Lady probably doesn’t find Vergil as annoying as she did Dante, but her disdain for demons hasn’t changed; she likely gets the ‘Lady’ name from Vergil sarcastically calling her “Milady/m’lady”, with a bow and everything. Of course, it ends with the brothers fighting on that waterfall in Hell, and Dante diving deeper down (also one must imagine Vergil with a rocket launcher). 

DMC5/AWS5; Event beats still mostly happen the same, but of course with changes that come with shifting Vergil and Dante like before.

A fun little fact is that Dante didn’t even realize that Nero may have been Vergil’s kid until he - or his human half, Tony, more accurately - saw photos of Nero in the Devil May Cry office, so he has a fun “oh fuck” moment. Tony also has Phantom in place of Nightmare, because I thought it’d be an interesting change-up. (One must imagine Tony riding on the back of a lava spider) 

You have never seen Vergil pissed until you’ve seen him post-Nero Loses His Arm. He almost blows off Tony entirely to look for Nero’s attacker (Dante) and Yamato until Tony name-drops Dante, in which Vergil gets more pissed off because Of Course, Who Else Would Steal Yamato And The Devil Bringer. He has Rebellion, so when he meets Dante’s demon half, who I still have not named, he’s semi-goaded into trading swords back, “just like old times”. Of course, he gets thrashed and put into a month-long coma (One must imagine Vergil with long hair. And a cool bike.)

Nero, while still gunning for revenge against Dante’s demon, is more on the “I need to get my dad back alive” route. Vergil naturally does not call his son a dead weight, but Tony does (“We have to go, you’ll just be dead weight to him, kid!”) and yes, he still holds that to heart, because Tony dragged him there in the first place and is now calling him basically worthless. Nero’s arc is mostly the same, overcoming the insecurities that came with failing to protect those he cared about, but with the added twist of lessening Vergil’s burden. They’re family after all; Vergil is Sparda’s legacy, and Nero is Vergil’s.

On an aside, I think it’d be fun if Nico and Vergil met before the events of 5. 

What does Vergil's dynamic with Trish and Lady look like? 

Lady is the only person Vergil has debt to. He learned the hard way, through her, that the Sparda Family Gambling Luck is hereditary (and later advises Nero to never gamble against her, lest he loses his soul). They’re good friends, thanks to the horrible bonding experience that was the Temen-Ni-Gru, and he didn’t even need Morrison to call her up about the Qliphoth, he did that all himself. Lady is on Vergil’s short list of people he’d trust Yamato to in the event of something happening to him until he gave it to Nero.

Like Dante in canon, Vergil was brought to Mallet Island by Trish. They have about the same relationship as devil-hunting partners, and Trish is also on the aforementioned Yamato Inheritance List. Vergil likes to be prepared.

With the two of them, though they do buy clothes on his dime like they do Dante, Vergil doesn’t really mind, even if he is miffed at first - “You can just ask instead of robbing me” - because his money also goes towards more indulgent things like books and old records when he can afford it, and he usually can.

Is Vergil mean to Patty or is he nice to her? (<- The most important question!)

Vergil is nice to Patty in his own Vergil way. I don’t see him acting too differently than Dante does in the series, but as mentioned above, Vergil doesn’t mind spending a little extra cash on Lady and Trish, so he won’t mind doing it for Patty. He might just pull the “Later I’m busy” excuse so he can read instead.

On an angst note, Vergil did wonder what it would have been like to have a family with Calla, and since he was unaware of Nero’s existence, he finds himself trying to raise Patty as he would have his own child. Patty’s legal residence is still the orphanage, but Vergil allows her to stay as long as she wants at the Devil May Cry and she even has her own room (still does by the events of 5). Patty also doesn’t have to worry about cleaning up the shop since Vergil keeps it clean himself. They really only butt heads over Patty not knowing how Vergil likes his books organized, her borrowing a book and forgetting it somewhere, or her moving Vergil’s current read and not telling him first. The man’s protective of his books.

Silhouettes of gothic buildings cut into the city as the sun began to dip along the horizon. Dante found himself comfortable on one of the rooftops where he could get a nice view of things. He appeared relaxed, but his instinct was always active, always working, keeping him watchful and alert even when he didn't want to be. 

Fortuna was a strange place, a city more isolated from the outside world than Dante was. Lady captured his attention with it, a community that lives and serves a demon. It’s instinct that made Dante laugh at it. 

It wasn’t just the city that made this job strange, for a change Dante’s gaze wasn’t drawn to the demons lurking in the setting sun’s shadows, but to the ruthless violence a kid on the street was inflicting them with. 

He was something else, a spark of energy amidst the turmoil. Although Dante had only seen flashes of him battling demons, he could sense a strength in Nero that was reminiscent of his own-- undeniably fierce and yet strangely vulnerable. Every swing of his sword triggered a mix of pride and intrigue in Dante. Curiosity gnawed at him. It was the first thrill he’s felt in a while and he wasn’t going to let it pass him by. 

Dante’s eyes squeezed shut for a moment, feeling the power being exercised down below and wrestling with the implications of that power. The idea of having anymore family was never something he dared to consider. What more tragedy could his own blood suffer? 

Dante accepted his solitude, but the thought of not being alone anymore brought a shock of warmth to his heart. It made him feel whole in ways he hadnt anticipated. Yet that very thought was a double edged sword. He didn’t want to disrupt this kid’s life. He clearly had his own battles to fight, doing a damn fine job of clearing out the garbage on the street. 

Dante stood at ease on the rooftop, he didn't have to go down there and introduce himself, but it wouldn't hurt if he just stayed and watched for a little bit.

While observing the kid a smile spread on Dante’s face. That power and that energy brought him a sort of peace only a devil would know. “You know, watching isn't the same as helping, Dante. Are you planning on sitting on your ass all day?” A familiar voice broke through his concentration. 

Dante turned slightly to greet Lady, her arms laid crossed against her chest and she had a teasing smile, a cruel one that said if you don't do anything soon you're not gonna get paid. Dante has seen that one before. Lady loved to be considered a businesswoman. 

“Planning? I don’t remember the last time I planned anything.” He turned back to see the kid move onto the next hoard. These demons were ugly, puppet-like creatures with blades for limbs. Dante remembers when he fought loads of puppets…. They were annoying and now they’re someone else’s problem. Ha.

Lady let out a large sigh but Dante could feel her step closer. Together they watched the young man whip around the street. He had the agility and the strength to deal with a hoard ten times bigger, Dante was sure. The kid was impressing him. Dante thumbed over the ledge, “Why should we step in, kid’s got it under control.”

“I doubt that kid is the one collecting devil arms. We’re looking into the church, remember?” 

Dante nodded. “Yeah, I know.” The church was somthing he didnt want to get to. Dante jabbed Lady with his elbow. “You gotta admit he’s pretty good.” Aside from him not noticing Dante watching him. The kid really should’ve sensed him by now. 

“Yeah, like a crazy mix of recklessness and stubbornness. Kinda like someone I know.” Lady looked over to Dante, her eyes accusing and then softening. A thick silence hung between them, a bit of understanding, a bit of apprehension to say out loud what they both thought.

Lady’s hand went up to rest on Dante’s shoulder, “Are you gonna go down there and introduce yourself? Maybe even make yourself useful?” 

The idea hung in the air, as absurd as it was enticing. “Not quite what I had in mind,” Dante replied. The smile from before returning to him. “I’m gonna keep an eye on him. See how strong he is, measure what he can handle.” 

Lady’s hand gave one firm, reassuring squeeze to his shoulder. “Don’t be afraid to pitch in.” 

Dante scoffed. “Afraid?” He was excited. The thrum of powerful demon energy aided in the feeling. “I’m just hoping I don’t get in the way!” 

Lady adjusted the strap of her beloved Kalina Ann before peering down the building’s ledge to get a better look at the fighting. “Well look at him go, and with one arm in a sling. He’s nearly made it to the end of the block. You’re gonna have to move soon if you wanna keep stalking.” Lady straightened up and tugged on Dante’s new red leather coat. “Take care of that kid.” 

It was strange how she understood, being that she’s human and everything. Dante kept Lady close for a reason. She’s smarter than she lets on and Dante figured that she laid out the job very purposefully.

A piece of him was walking around, the blood of Sparda, and if he dared to say, his family. He was never afraid of family, it was just the losing them part that tore away at him.

He felt Lady step away. “I’m gonna check in on Trish. I’m sure she’s knee deep in her own demon horde. This city's a mess!” 

Dante waved her off. Lady was pretty good at putting on a ‘business comes first�� front, but she’s always the one checking in on everyone. Humans. 

Using Kalina Ann’s grapple, she propelled herself across buildings to cover as much ground as possible to get to where Trish supposedly was. 

Dante’s attention never fully left the Fortuna kid, though. That was his blood fighting out there. This city may worship Sparda, but they had no idea what he stood for if they’re opening up all of these hell gates. 

Dante tricked to the next building in an effortless movement. His smile was unfaltering watching the kid. Yeah, it had been years since he’d felt like this.

Lose You Tonight(DMC3!Dante x Fem!Reader)

You weren’t exactly sure what changed within your loveable boyfriend, but he has been a bit more of an asshole lately. Just little things that were starting to come out and it was really starting to worry you. At first, you would brush off the little jabs and quips at you, but when he was starting to give you the silent treatment, you wondered if you were really good enough for Dante. 

You had met him when he saved you from a horde of demons that was attacking your apartment building. He was so sexy and so charming. The kind of boyish charm you expected from a devil hunter who wore no shirts. He was smitten by you from the moment he laid eyes on you, and it really didn’t take long for the two of you to start dating.

But after months of being together and you had finally moved in with him, you were worried maybe this wasn’t what he actually wanted. And it was starting to piss you off that he was spending more time with Lady than you. Even when they weren’t out together on a job, they would spend long nights in the office just drinking and reminiscing about certain moments where you weren’t present.

It all blows up in your face when you come home after a long shift at your job and you notice how Lady is at the office and sitting right on Dante’s desk. Them being close like this shouldn’t make you so angry, but it’s been going on for too long. You try to make your way past them, but Lady makes a comment.

“Finally home from work, huh?”

There’s something about her tone and the way Dante is just chuckling that irks you. You feel tears brimming your eyes and you mutter something under your breath as you make your way upstairs. As soon as you’re away from prying eyes, tears slide down your cheeks.

You make your way into the bedroom and you begin packing a bag. You weren’t going to stay here another night. Dante had made his choice, and to you this was so damn clear. 

A knock at the door interrupts your thought process, and you stop packing your bag once he steps inside. Dante feels a guilt so deep inside of him, and it’s been eating him up for a little while now. His stomach drops when he sees that you’re packing a bag. He rushes over to you and places his hands on yours.

There’s a slight tremble in his bottom lip as he pouts. He grabs the backpack from you and pulls it out of your reach. You groan loudly and try to snatch it from him, but he only pulls it further out of your reach.

“I’m not losing you. I won’t fucking lose you, not when I’ve been waiting so long for you.”

You’re shocked to hear these words coming from your boyfriend. He’s so boyish and bratty, but on occasion he has shown you the softer side of him. He isn’t all puns, jokes and goofing off. In my mcd rewrite Dante is 16 as he's a freshly trained guard and the rest of them are all in their mid thirties roughly - given Garroth and Laurance are both head guards at that point and that takes years to gain that role (though I guess that's actually arguable because both of Laurance's dad's were Lords but I digress). Most of the other head guards are of middle age so I believe it's realistic for them to be mid thirties. Aphmau is also in her mid thirties just to bring closeness to the age with her potential love interests (cough, zoey, cough)

SO IMAGINE. Garroth and Laurance see Dante and they're just like, oh my god it's our child. I can imagine Laurance sat with Dante in their living quarters talking about how to woo the ladies like he did Lady Aphmau, obviously. Or Garroth teaching him fighting tricks that aren't taught in guard academy. Dante learnt to adapt them to his katanas and even 15 years later he still uses them. Basically them two giving Dante the family he lost, and giving him a new family. They know he's a guard and has responsibilities, but off duty they just let him *be a kid*. They don't know the details, they don't have ti know. All they do know is that this kid that has suddenly joined their little village and he has had a bad past, and they want to rectify what he didn't have.

Dante confides in Aphmau about anything and everything, truly seeing her as his big sister. Aphmau sees him as her little brother, and despite it being his job to protect her, any visitor who comes to Phoenix Drop who whispers about Dante is getting a mouthful and potentially being kicked out of the village because "What do you mean I can't do that Garroth? It's my village!" Aphmau also confides in him about falling for Zoey, and Dante absolutely acts as a wingman, being that suave younger brother he is having tea with Zoey, thinking he's so slick by going 'so, what do you think about Lady Aphmau?' But Zoey is centuries old, she knows every trick in the book and she caught on RIGHT AWAY. Though she did decide to humour him because she could appreciate his efforts.

Garroth and Laurance sneak around because they're scared that Dante won't be happy if he found out they are more than best friends. But eventually they find out he always knew and then they decide they're changing their roles to his dads because now they can act like a married couple and make dad jokes, which Dante *despises*

Basically they are all each others found family in times where they've lost their own, and they will always cherish the memories they shared. Domestic Fluff is something I loved in minecraft diaries and I wanted to develop that a bit more. Their bonds with everyone were so complex but not really shown much so its my sworn duty to claim that role.

Okay, so I have a few ideas for original stories, but the two that I've started are "The Prince & The Botanist" and "All's Fair". I write exclusively queer fiction and romance, because when I was a gay little kid growing up there wasn't a lot of variation, and certainly no fantasy novels with queer leading characters! (Which I suspect is why I projected so much onto The Hobbit and LotR, and Bilbo in particular)

"The Prince & The Botanist" is my murder mystery! It's about a reclusive botanist, Dante Morsatra, who has isolated himself from the rest of the nobility, and started up a sort of school/apprenticeship for the common folk. He's considered pretty odd, and the Court all give him a wide berth and let him get on with it, until one day someone who antagonised him and made his life miserable growing up is brutally poisoned. One of the princes of the realm, Lucien Advaris, is put in charge of finding the culprit, but after meeting Dante he decides to use his knowledge of botany as a resource, all while keeping an eye on his prime suspect.

Despite having started this wayyyy before I started writing fic for The Hobbit, I'll be honest and say this one is extremely bagginshield coded! To the point where I actually considered turning it into an AU, lol.

"All's Fair" is my captured princess/enemies-to-lovers story! Alenia is my leading lady, a lonely princess who's waiting to come of age so she can be wed in a political marriage arranged by her father and older brother, but the realm is at war, and shortly after her father rides out to lead the failing armies of their country, they lose. The enemies are at the gates and take over the capital in a single night. Virion, the new ruler of the country, decides to keep Alenia and her older brother, Alosrin, alive as hostages to make the transition of power easier and not rouse any sympathy in the people who don't currently seem inclined to fight back against the new regime. Virion finds Alenia much easier to deal with than her older brother, so the pair of them end up speaking often, playing chess of an evening, and eventually making a deal to benefit them both!

Hello. What do you think Vergil's life was like before the events of the DMC3 game and manga? How did he live? Was he homeless, or did he have a place? Did he have any friends? Did he stole? How did he acquire all his power and knowledge?

I believe in his very early years, between the ages of 9 to maybe 13 at least, he would've been living out on his own. I dont see young Vergil as the kind to trust strangers so easily so him living on the streets is plausible, getting by off of things he's stolen or even begging if he was that desperate. Him also spending a lot of time in places like public libraries is something i see happening; its somewhere warm and sheltered, and he has a chance to read and learn too.

At some point before the DMC 3 we know Vergil visited Fortuna, my guess is he was around 14-15 at this time. Now its left up to interpretation what his life was like back then and you dont have to agree with my HCs, but my version of events runs a little something like this;

Having spent most of his life vulnerable on the streets, fending for himself and barely scraping by, he arrives in Fortuna seeking out information regarding Sparda, and possibly how to gain the level of power his father had as well. During his time in Fortuna he meets the Lady in Red, personally i really like the idea of them meeting in a library and her teaching Vergil how to read the language Fortuna's texts uses (in Deadly Fortune, Dante comments he cant understand what the books are saying in that room where Nero first fights the angelos.) But regardless of how they met, Vergil sees a chance at a new life in Fortuna with her. So he settles down with her, gets to know her a bit more, and finds himself a peaceful slice of paradise in the quaint little city, eventually concieving a son (Nero). But of course since he was a child, he's rightfully been paranoid of demon attacks, and even more so now that he's built himself a new start. Gaining the power to protect himself had always been his main goal in life, but now he wants to protect these people too.

Cue DMC 3, raising the temennigru to gain ultimate power and whatnot. I feel he had plans to return to Fortuna post-temennigru, but unfortunately we all know how that game ended...

As for his power and knowledge, I think a lot of his power stems from Yamato and whatever Sparda had taught him in his childhood. In Fortuna he could've read up more on Sparda and demonic things and gained further knowledge then. That, and constant training of his abilities whenever he can (going off of his sword taunt in DMC 5 where he goes through a routine with Yamato, we know he does train when possible. He could also do that with his DT form, giving reason as to how he's able to use it so effortlessly and for a tad bit longer than Dante as well.)

(Also i believe that Vergil gained his DT when he was a kid, specifically when he was stabbed by those demons and almost killed in VoV. We never see him trigger of course, but how else would an 8 year old survive an attack like that? Half demon or not.)

• He must have been in his early years of elementary school when she came into his life, the other kids ignored her presence, but he noticed her immediately! If it weren’t for her big, vibrant red bow, it would have been for her gentle nature. Reader…

• Of course, until the reader had to calm him down, giving him a good slap in the face.

• The only consolation that the reader wanted from Nicola was that he was there for her, nothing more, she did not want him to solve her problem for her. She only wanted him in her life.

• Years passed, as Nikola became a prominent figure in the fields of science, Reader dealt with her… situation as best she could.

• Despite being very busy with his own overloaded work schedule, Nikola was always happy to respond and correspond with readers. If he was having a bad day or couldn't think of something for the board, he would simply glance at the cards. The good memories.

• Of course, he kept the communication with reader a secret from his other close scientific friends, not because of him, but because after all, reader was a MARRIED woman, it would be very bad for her reputation if she were sending letters with a man (that, and Tesla didn't want Edison to make fun of him for keeping all her letters).

• Tesla tried to be a recurring figure in the reader's life, especially when Susana, the little daughter of the reader and her husband, was born. Nikola had a bittersweet feeling about the girl at first, but that was quickly overcome when he used his own logic, she is his father's daughter, yes, but also reader's daughter!

• Tesla probably uses his position as Susana's godfather to constantly spend time at the reader's house, they take the opportunity to talk freely when her husband goes to work, and Nikola can feel again how he gets nervous and warm when the reader laughs at his babbles.

• If you mix that with whiskey, Tesla is probably talking sleepily about how he wishes he could get the reader and Susana away from that man, who would help them without thinking. But reader always put him to sleep.

• It's not like Nikola lacks the desire to get rid of her husband, he has seen what he is capable of.

• The bruises he has left on the reader, the times he left her with a broken bone, or with her clothes torn to pieces along with various pieces of furniture...

• Tesla took a pamphlet from a very upset passer-by and read it as quickly as he could, and the material he absorbed left him pale and then red with rage.

• Who did this guy think he was?! Who did he think he would subject the reader to this humiliation just to save himself?!

• But that wasn't the important thing, he had to find the reader and Susana, make sure they were safe.

• and they were! Or well, at least physically….

• The reader was a crying mess, and Susana didn't really understand what was happening. Apparently the reader's husband, after all the pamphlet dysfunction, had THE GUTS to actually leave her. Now the reader was like a single mother, without reputation, without allies, and with a city that despised her... at least now she was free.

• Neither of them remembers how long the reader was crying in Tesla's arms with Susana, only that when she calmed down, she felt as if she was finally...calm. As if everything was going to turn out well.

• Everything is going to be fine.

• If we go to the more domestic Headcanons, you can bet that Nikola was over the moon when (after several months of “proper courtship”) reader agrees to be his wife! Literally, he started crying more than Susana...

• Tesla is a husband who, although he is very distracted by work, definitely does not miss an opportunity to be close to the reader. He gets especially clingy when Susana is away and Reader is reading, he puts her on his lap and just recharges his batteries (pun intended). It also applies if Nikola has had a bad day, he needs to recharge with wifely pampering!

• Of course, reader have to make sure he is clean before that, there are times when he stays in the lab for DAYS and when it comes out it is covered in dirt. BATH FIRST, KISSES LATER>:( she is so mean :,(

• He is very sweet with Susana, even if she is more on the rough side, she definitely trusts him a lot and asks him for help with her homework.

• If the reader kept all of Tesla's letters like he did with hers, he is going to cry. Alot.

• Definitely the type of husband who makes the metal rose as an “improved” version, part of his love language is small details and saying VERY LOUDLY how much he loves his partner (in several languages).

• The family probably moved away after the pamphlet (and the guy who wrote it was permanently blacklisted by Tesla).

• Tesla is THAT dad who screams at Susanna's dance recitals.

• Nikola has a lot of patience with the reader to get used to a healthy relationship after her husband fiasco, that only motivates him to be an even better husband! After all, in his eyes the reader deserves everything good in this world after so much suffering.

• Overall, a story full of tragedy, romance, and a happy ending. As these two deserve.

I was just listening to the OtGW soundtrack in the car and I realized that there’s stuff in the music that actually backs up my kinda crack theory that the Queen of the Clouds is actually the Beast, or at least is tied to the Beast somehow (if we’re going with the idea that the show is Dante’s Inferno, the Woodsman and Adelaide could represent two of the three beasts from the Dark Wood of Error while the cloud lady could be the third.) First, I just want to take a moment to introduce my theory since I haven’t posted about it before. Basically, a while ago, as I was thinking about the ending of the series and trying to figure out what Greg wished for and how he ended up going from the Queen of the Clouds to being in that daze under the Beast’s control, it occurred to me that maybe they were one and the same. Part of this comes from how information about the Beast is provided to the boys and, by extent, the audience. We start off with generic fear about a nameless, nondescript ‘beast’ but, in “Songs of the Dark Lantern”, we are told for the first time that the Beast tells lies and also that the main thing he does is turn children into trees that he harvests for oil to fuel his lamp. To me, this says that he can’t just sneak up behind a child and turn them into a tree but, rather, that he tells lies because he has to lure them in somehow and trick them into becoming the trees. Also, the Beast is known for his lies and we see the Cloud Queen showing Wirt to Greg and lying to him about how Wirt has already been claimed and is too far gone and there is no way for him to go home with Greg. The other main piece of evidence for my little theory here is what Greg is doing with the Beast at the end, how he’s acting, and what exactly he’s saying. He’s doing stuff like putting a teacup on a rock so the sun sets behind it, because he had been told to catch the sun in a cup, and the Beast praises him for this, using a soft tone of voice like a normal person would use with a child that really isn’t befitting of a ‘beast’ at all. And yet, after being shown to do a task that the Beast asked him to do and praised him for completing, Greg is still saying to Wirt that he “did it,” that he “beat the Beast.” Well, if he was even the tiniest bit grounded in reality, there would be no way in Hell he’d be saying that as he’s been going around serving the Beast himself while his physical condition gets significantly worse and he even starts coughing up leaves. This clearly indicates that Greg is out to lunch, mentally, and I think it strongly supports the idea that Greg does not know at all that it’s the Beast who’s having him do stuff like catch the sun in a cup or that it’s the Beast who’s praising him. What I think it is is that, in his head, this is all stuff he’s running around doing for the Cloud Queen in order to set up for or earn whatever his wish was and she’s the one he sees and hears and thinks he’s talking to. Now, as for how the soundtrack further supports this, I’d like to start with singing in the series. Most characters don’t sing at all and few have their own songs, but something that just became clear to me is that, like what Lin Manuel Miranda did in Hamilton, each character who really does sing their own songs gets their own signature style of music. For example, Jason Funderburker (the frog) gets that kind of bluesy sound like in the opening theme and the song “Over the Garden Wall”  while Greg has that really upbeat kids’ music, like with “Potatoes and Molasses” and “Adelaide Parade.” More importantly, though, the only two characters in the whole thing who ever sing opera are the Beast and the Queen of the Clouds. Other bits include the part where Greg is ‘Greg’ to literally everyone except the Cloud Queen and the Beast, who both call him ‘Gregory.’ Additionally, there’s the scene at the start of the last episode when the Beast is talking to Greg and he says “Anything is possible if you set your mind to it, right?” which sticks out because we’ve never seen Greg say that to the Beast or even just around him, but he did just say it to the Cloud Queen not that long ago. This one’s a bit of a stretch but there’s also how the light reflects in Greg’s eyes both as he enters the dream and when he’s talking to the Queen of the Clouds which reminded me of the “you have beautiful eyes” part of the first episode when those wild, glowing eyes of the corrupted dog reflect in Greg’s own eyes. Moreover, the lyrics of “Everything is Nice and Fine All the Time” and “Forward Oneiroi” have some bits that sound kind of sinister, which doesn’t make sense if the Cloud Kingdom and their queen are actually just good and nice. Specifically, “Everything is Nice and Fine” has a couple mentions of lies, which is something that throughout the series really only comes up in the Unknown when it comes to the Beast or fear of him, and there’s one line that really sticks out to me of “Our songs are filled with love, the sweetest lie/And we can send them down to you with a little shove.” The cherubs in this Cloud Kingdom are literally coming out and saying that love, or maybe just their love, is a lie so their songs, including the one they’re singing about how everything is nice and fine all the time, are “filled with” a lie. Not to mention the line of “Lasso a cloud and make the flowers grow,” which is eerily reminiscent of the task Greg is given later on of “lowering the sun out of the sky and into this china cup” in how it’s such a whimsical yet surreal and impossible action. I’m also just going to put the lyrics to “Forward Oneiroi” here real quick so you can see them:      Forward, cherubs, hear the song      A child's wishes call us on      Descend! Descend!      'Ere he 'scapes, for dreams      Our winged wind hath made      For only beneath the veil of sleep      Can we Oneiroi act on men. The first thing I want to talk about here is the actual Oneiroi. From what I found, Oneiroi were lesser deities of dreams in some forms and areas of Hellenic paganism who were led by Morpheus, who tended to take a human shape in the dreams he visited. If the welcome wagon is all the Oneiroi who are addressed in the Cloud Queen’s song, then that means that she, as their leader, is the Morpheus figure, as in a powerful being who isn’t actually human but takes a human shape in dreams. Also, that second part of “Descend! Descend!/'Ere he 'scapes” sounds genuinely threatening. If the dream is so good and “everything is nice and fine all the time,” why would Greg ‘escape’? And now I’ll  put in the lyrics to Beast’s part of Come Wayward Souls too because I want to compare these two songs:      Come, wayward souls      And wander through the darkness      There is a light for the lost and the meek      Sorrow and fear are easily forgotten      When you submit to the soil of the earth Okay so where I’m going with this is that these songs feel very similar to me, both in tone and musicality as well as lyrical content. If you took “Forward Oneiroi” and swapped out the words “cherubs” and “Oneiroi” for “children” or “souls” and then just put it in a darker sounding minor key, I think it would feel about the same as “Come Wayward Souls” and I definitely could see that song being one of the Beast’s. I would also point out how the lyrics of both the Beast’s songs have this weirdly encouraging, light, hopeful tone, which makes sense given that he waits for kids to get lost and give up and then he comes in and scoops them up. In “Wayward Souls,” he says “There is a light for the lost and the meek/Sorrow and fear are easily forgotten/When you submit to the soil of the earth,” which yes, sounds kinda ominous with the part about submitting to the earth but, really, is putting light and hope out there. It’s saying that, if you just go with him and submit to the earth, there is a light for you, some beacon of hope, and you can forget the sorrow and fear you’re currently feeling. He does the same in “The Jolly Woodsman,” too: “When the fog of life surrounds you/When you think you've lost your way/Come with me and join the forest/Come with me and join the play.” Lastly, I want to compare the kids’ choir part of “Wayward Souls” and “Potatus et Molassus” to “Everything is Nice and Fine.” For reference, the full choir part is “Grow, tiny seed/You are called to the trees/Rise 'til your leaves fill the sky/Until your sighs fill the air in the night/Lift your mighty limbs/And give praise to the fire.” The first thing that sticks out is how much this choir of children who we know to be the souls in the edelwood trees are talking about reaching up to the sky with the branches of their trees, which reminds me of lines like “So hitch a ride into the sky,” “The softest clouds and rainbow skies ain’t gonna lie,” and “Everyone is sittin' pretty on top of the weather,” from “Everything is Nice and Fine.” I thought I’d already said it but I just looked back and apparently I didn’t say that, with the idea that the Cloud Queen is the Beast, there is also the idea that everyone we see in Cloud City is just the not-yet-sacrificed souls of the children in the edelwoods, and stuff like this kinda goes with that. Another thing I noticed that makes sense to me, though idk if it’ll make sense to everyone, is that “Potatoes and Molasses” is to “Potatus et Molassus” as “Everything is Nice and Fine” is to the children’s choir part in the Beast’s song. I would even go so far as to claim that the whole point of the “Potatus et Molassus” reprise is to draw attention to “Everything is Nice and Fine” and then call into question everything from the Cloud City stuff. I say this because, as I said previously, each character who sings their own designated songs has their own designated style and Everything is Nice and Fine is in a similar style to Greg’s own style (it’s a bit different though, so it’s not like they just used Greg’s style because it’s his dream or something) while “Potatus et Molassus” is in the same exact style as the “grow tiny seed” stuff, to the extent that the children’s choir is even used in that song. So, when I look at Greg in episodes 8 and 10, I think that what’s going on is that the Beast doesn’t just come up and talk to you as this ominous, scary shadow guy with antlers and weird eyes but, rather, he can be subtle and manipulative and do shit like get inside of your head and manipulate you. After all, Satan’s a liar and a conjurer too and, with the Inferno view of OtGW, the Beast is Satan. My bet is that, at the start of episode 10, Greg is aware enough to know that he’s no longer in his dream but he sees the Queen of the Clouds rather than the Beast and imagines that she’s there to guide him through whatever tasks he needs to do to get Wirt back and go home or whatever. Once there’s the tree starting to grow around him, I believe that, in his head, he succeeded and then was back home or maybe some other nice, cute, safe space like Cloud City with all the other souls. When he sings “Potatus et Molassus,” in whatever is going on in his head, he’s just having a good time wherever he is, singing “Potatoes and Molasses,” like how he and all those other children heard a lilting soprano instead of an ominous bass when the Beast sings. (Sorry this was so long btw)

Part 1

Jazz knew her best quality tended to also be her worst one. She knew her optimistic attitude often blinded her from the red flags others practically smack her with. From the deadly house she lived in as a child to the government sanctioned genocide, the reality of it went right over her head until she found her brother dead, his core the only thing remaining of who he'd been.

She knew her optimism blinded her. That's why when she started dating Jason, she also asked her friends Johnny and Kitty to be roommates with her for a while.

"He's a crook" Johnny said. "Red Hood's gang based on affiliation markers,"

"So a bad guy," Jazz sighed, a bit disappointed.

"I mean not really? You are living in Hood territory," Kitty said.

"He's a good guy then," Jazz smiled.

"He could be," Johnny agreed. "We'll have to hang around a bit more to find out."

Jazz stared into her coffee mug. This whole 'is he isn't he' was driving her batty. She just wanted to know if falling in love with him was okay, of her son would be safe, if he could be trusted. Because she knew it wouldn't be long before she fell for his boyish smile and charming personality.

Kitty squeezed Johnny's hand on the table, and Jazz sighed again. She wanted what they had. A love that not even death could separate or stop.

"Even if he's not the one," Kitty said. "We'll make sure the cutie is safe. There'd be no harm is seeing where this thing you've got with Jason goes,"

Jazz nodded, and smiled at the text poppingup in her phone screen. "Good," she said. "Because Jason asked my out to coffee tomorrow morning and I need someone to watch Danny,"

Dani needed to get out of her apartment more. Ever since her template died, things have been weird. Dark Danny, the evil Dan, now known as Dante, became her so called Father. How could a future version of her template exist if her template was dead? Simple. Alternate universe.

Dani had accepted that and stopped caring. Jazz was her cousin now, and she had a legal identity and she had to go to school all the while she watched the core of her once template re-grow a body in Jazz's stomach for nine-months. Her template didn't look anything like he used to now. Before he was literally reborn. An entirely new person with her temple's core.

And she watched him learn to talk, and walk, and start kindergarten.

It happened so slowly but too fast and now she just didn't want to think about it anymore.

So she tossed notes at the other weird kid in her class. And when he forcefully held her hand in the hallway she smiled.

It was easy to forget her issues when she was dragging Wayne around. The bird nest above the senior science laboratory window. The carving of initials in the old stadium bleachers that could possibly be his father's. The weird relationship the volleyball coach had with the soup lunch lady.

Her worries drifted to the back of her mind with every quirked eyebrow or haughty smirk.

"If you like animals then you should accompany me to the rescue center this weekend." He said.

Dani looked away from the bird nest they'd been watching. "I'd love too!"

New draconia family tree just dropped. some chap 7 spoilers, some are ocs still

Maldra Draconia - Big red dragon old as time itself, this is where the Draconia's get their pretty green eyes from. Also though, just like all of the Draconia's in canon twisted wonderland. she's an absolute horror. I'm talking country destroyer to the point that if Tenebris hadn't somehow accidentally seduced her- the world probably would have ended. and it only got worse from there, because.... both her and Tenebris were strong af so Maleficia came out even stronger...

Rex Tenebrarum - that's just his title technically. I just translated king of darkness into latin smh. Tenebris is his nickname. Fae names are power guys. He's so anal about it even his own wife doesn't know his true name. Which isn't to say that he doesn't love her, but just that he takes every measure necessary to protect himself and in turn, his family. Other than that, things will be close to the canon universe. Lilia, Mallenoa, and Raven will all still be childhood friends, although Lilia will be doing fieldtrips to Kumiko's mountain to train. Maybe for summer vacation! And of course, Mallenoa will not allow him to have fun without her- Which also means Raven comes too.

Grim, Kumiko and the reader will be like summer camp counselors with a world destroyer dragon fae, bratty little future hardcore general lilia, and also a bird who probably cries whenever he makes eye contact with kumiko.

Devil May Cry reverse au headcanons

The Legendary Hunter: Vergil Sparda:

He is the legendary demon hunter who is known and loved by everyone in Fortuna. Have a demon problem? Call Vergil. Need a little help with something? Call Vergil.

He isn't good with his feelings, so acts of service are his way of showing he cares. That's how his mother taught him. He may not look like the most friendliest looking but will still help out. That's how he met the mother to his son after all.

Speaking of her, she unfortunately passed away during Nero's birth, leaving Vergil to raise the kid. Luckily, he wasn't alone since Trish and Lady, and eventually, you often helped with Nero when Vergil had missions.

He is still very awkward to affection to Nero. He hasn't had the best example, but he tries. Nero finds it kind of funny.

Unlike Canon, Dante Vergil won't touch pizza, but he would go for a good curry, not gonna lie. He isn't picky, and he is always willing to try a curry he hasn't had before.

The Alpha and The Omega: Dante Sparda

He is a rambunctious and reckless man lusting for power to beat Vergil. This has caused him to destroy everything around him while making him infamous to everyone at Devil May Cry.

He is still snarky and loud, and he uses it to hide the seething anger and betrayal he feels towards his brother. Despite how deep down he just wants his family back.

I won't lie when Dante found out Vergil had a kid it made him even more bitter. The one thing he wanted he didn't have. He doesn't take it out on Nero, but he does fight him.

He doesn't hate his brother he is just constantly upset with him. He wanted everything Vergil had. He wanted to prove to his parents that he was worth saving!

He accidentally separates Vergil and V during a fight. He got a hold of Yamato stabbing Vergil with it. It wasn't for very long, but it taught Dante that his own sword could be used for greater power.

Still really like pizza. He doesn't get to have it often, but when he does, he eats by the dozens. (He also charges it to Vergil's card)

The Devil Hunter: Nero

Even though he was still raised by his father, he still attended the Sparda church, though Vergil had no idea till shit hit the fan. It also brought Nero into his father's devil hunting buisness.

During this, Vergil was aware of Yamato's whereabouts but couldn't bring himself to hurt Nero in that way. So he got better with his demon weapons over time.

It wasn't until he first met Dante that Nero got separated from his arm. Dante wanted Yamato, so he tracked it down with the old research notes from the church.

Before that, Nero and Vergil had a good relationship. Though usually when they hang out, it's quiet between the two, only pointing out things that catch their interest, but it was a comfortable quiet.

Nero has asked about his mom. Every time he does, he sees how much love and adoration Vergil had for her.

He is a Sparda, and he is still rambunctious, but he is a little more level-headed just like his father.

Also, it’s such a notable fact that everyone knows it, including ghosts that weren’t around for Fanny’s life

I know he’s easily coerced into not doing it, but the fact that Captain wanted to tell Fanny immediately that Dante was missing is very sweet

Kitty once hid for a whole day and night, and got so hungry she had to eat a bit of her purse 

I mean it’s just meant to look funny and be a reference but Julian can canonically spin a ball on one finger 

Nobody has ever found Kitty during hide and seek

Episode 4 - The Thomas Thorne Affair

Robin would wear a space suit, Mary a seashell dress, Tom double denim with aviators, Julian misses pants, Pat’s wearing his lovely gist, Kitty wears the same as Alison, and Captain would wear his uniform 

Julian is unsurprisingly well versed in political tactics like the spin

It’s the one that made Thomas very dead

This is another thing I’m uncertain about: whether Thomas feels pain or just does it for dramatic affect 

Quick side note before sad Thomas lore, I think I forgot to mention last time that Julian mentioned Great Expectations

Episode 5 - Bump in the Night 

Cap likes to count with Humphrey’s hands 

Captain tells Alison of life from the knees “Trust me, you don’t want a hernia” either he had one or knew someone who did

Humphrey knows that hedgehogs will leave flees in the rug 

Also Captain and Humphrey’s exchange “Pick me up at six. Literally” “Very good” is so cute 

Fanny references oyster forks

She assumes they’re eating oysters at the wedding

Captain does his own little vocalisation of what I’m assuming is a long way to Tipperary

Episode 6 - Perfect Day

Mary believes that bad weather means bad tidings for the wedding

Pat’s wedding day was the best day of his life, Carol wore velvet and he wore a brown three piece 

Julian was drunk on his wedding day 

Fanny’s wedding day was at Winchester Cathedral and she was given away by the Marquis of Granby 

Robin had at least thirty children

Kitty can throw up, and had food in her stomach when she died

Robin says that’s never happened before

Captain is very good at decorating, no surprise

Pat recognises the kid who killed him 

Mary and her wedding superstitious 

Both Pat and Julian talk about Dennis Waterman

You know, Thomas’ explanation of how Clare looked was pretty accurate, he’s quite aware of emotions

Fanny stops in front of George’s portrait, just an interesting detail 

Fanny had high expectations placed on her since she was a child 

Alison and Mike got married young 

Alison had second thoughts on their wedding day

Mary had a husband, who was crushed underneath a plough three years after their marriage 

The man Pat recognises is Keith Darren Dean 

First time hearing about Humphrey’s marriage: it was arranged, they were both from noble families, he was fourteen she was twelve 

They didn’t love each other, and Humphrey believed she didn’t like him, they couldn’t understand each other because she was French 

Course later we find out she thought highly of him

Keith has guilt that has lasted decades, that sounds so painful 

Fanny and Thomas exchange a look when she finally comes around to the wedding, it’s just so sweet I had to mention it

Keith remembers the knot tying Pat taught him

Episode 7 - The Ghost of Christmas

Julian is giving a speech for a bill at the start of the episode, referencing saying goodbye to Margot the day before 

He refers to her as ‘this woman from my wedding’ and implies he’s about to sleep with another woman by the end of the scene

Nickname count: Dearest, darling and dear

The baby, Rachel, is heard crying on the phone

Margot asks when Julian is coming home, so he lies to her and says he won’t be back for days

Pat loves Christmas cooking, such a dear

Captain wishes he had a whiteboard

Julian points out the humbugs, and says he hates Christmas 

Captain misses hearing the King’s speech on Christmas

Pat liked playing games with his nephew and his son, Daley

Games like Buckaroo, Boggle, Yahtzee and KerPlunk 

Thomas misses the mistletoe, implying he’s been kissed before

Kitty used to open presents in the morning and then after lunch Eleanor would pick the ones she wanted

Mary says that some babies can see ghosts until they start walking 

Julian is in the warmest room in the house due to his legs

Julian was in Brussels once at a strip club,  but he tells Margot he’s at a restaurant eating moules-frites and drinking a Sancerre 

Margot seems at least skeptical of him

This is one of the Christmases he misses, the last four of his life that involve Rachel 

Julian references the European Union

Fanny convinced Alison to follow the tradition of chopping a tree down and bringing it on for Christmas

Fanny planted at least fifty saplings in her time

It’s kind of funny that Julian is horrified by Mary getting naked

Thomas’ Christmas recital thing wasn’t that bad 

From inference, it’s implied that Julian believes Margot wanted the baby, and that he had it thrust upon him

And if “I know, darling, I know” represents Margot, and Julian thinks that’s a reaction she would have, damn is that sad

She’s practically taking the blame for his misery

Julian would go for a drive if the baby got too irritating to him 

It appears that out of the four Christmases away from Rachel,  one was to do oil deals, one was to be in Brussels, one at Colonel Gaddafi’s palace, and possibly another in Brussels 

Pat loves Twister

Thomas and Cap have physical discipline 

Pat would go to the shed to drink a Watney’s 

Julian being considerate of Angela sleeping is either a new development, or something he was never pushed to do in life

The PC brigade may have interrogated Julian

Fanny seems to hold her Christmases in a high regard, despite George. Maybe it wasn’t always bad
