I wash with disinfectant soap, use hibiclens beneath my arms and anywhere else that’s prone to sweating or odor, and use sunscreen religiously. I used to get bad body acne, and after a chest and shoulder peel, a trip or two to the dermatologist, continuous care, starting to wash and change my sheets daily, and really focusing on clearing the scarring, it’s finally gotten so much better and the scarring has nearly disappeared. I shower morning, after exercise, and at night and make sure to moisturize properly. 

I just recently had a 24-inch 2x6 closure and 4 24-inch bundles made into a middle part wig. It’s thick, luscious, bouncy, and it looks amazing. I used Raw SEA Straight bundles, I straighten it with minimal heat and it stays bone straight no matter the weather or humidity, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. The hair I use looks healthy, feels amazing, and the price makes sense for the level of quality. I have a lot of wigs but this is in my top five; it works for everyday wear and it looks nice even when it’s tied up so it’s versatile and easy to wear in braid, a bun, or even a low ponytail.

I wear natural makeup most days. I’m currently using products from Charlotte Tilbury, Dior, Nars, Hourglass, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay, and Tom Ford and loving how easy it is for me to create natural looks. I’ve been focusing on natural soft matte makeup and really learning how to apply bronzer to emphasize my cheekbones and the results have been better than expected. I’m very good at eye makeup and I love the lip combos that I do, but sculpting my face is the one thing that escapes me. I wear lashes but they’re pretty minimal and I do my eye makeup in a way that makes my eyes look wide open instead of overly seductive.

I wear jewelry every day. I usually wear gold Cartier that I’ve collected over the years or other small pieces, but I make an effort to accessorize. One of my favorite fashion magazines said that the key to looking put together was wearing at least a few pieces of matching jewelry, so I’ve made an effort ever since. I have a really nice pair of diamond stud earrings that I got on my 17th birthday, and I wear them on special occasions. I also have a small collection of more adventurous jewelry and charm jewelry, and then I have a few different tennis and pearl pieces. For everyday wear, I try to keep it basic.

I usually do my nails simply. I either do chrome or french tips; sometimes I do a really nice dark red, but I try to keep them short and neat. I have acrylics and usually do gel polish on them; I use a cuticle oil every day and make sure that I’m getting fills frequently because I want my hands to look good. I’m going to do perfume in this section because I do my spritzes of perfume right after I apply my cuticle oil. I love perfume. I think that perfume is amazing, and it’s an amazing tool, but you honestly do have to be careful with how much you’re applying. There’s nothing worse than the smell of overpowering perfume. I avoid strong perfumes, essential oils, and ouds and limit the number of sprays I do.

Heyoo! I finally got the charm I had design and it came out okay lol. I believe I made the Beast too blue and dark, but I can fix that. I'm gonna talk abit more below.

I think it came out well, but I'm more disappointed on the quality of the charm and print? I ordered 3 and on one of them, there is an apparent white layer that wasn't cleaned off well. Idk about acrylic charm making, but I don't like that white layer being so visible like that.

And I also don't like how visible Belle's face is on the Beast's side. Behind her hair, you can see her face which makes me a lil upset. It can also be like that with the Beast's eyes where you see his other pupil on his side. Idk if the print wasn't thick enough or if the lineart is dark enough to see thru, but I have double sided design charms myself and they don't have that problem of seeing the design from the back/front side. Unless pink is a very transparent color or something? I want to know why her face is haunting me on the other side of the charm :/

I was hoping I could sell these if people were interested, but I don't think it's good and I don't want to give out this quality of a charm.

I got these from Vograce and I don't know the general quality of their charms from other people, but I would like to know if someone had similar experiences. I could have gotten a bad batch or I did something wrong on my end.

Your newfound team continues to make great progress over the course of a couple days, and you wonder how much longer Rider will be training the blue team for.

Your team has been doing lots of ranked, and you're all already around rank A.

It doesn't take long for you to get a grip on their weaknesses and strong points, and their personalities. Leo reminds you of a mix of Gloves and Aloha, wanting to be trendy and fun, but he's also easily excited. Emotions are all over the place with this squid, he's pretty cool though. He kinda reminds you of an annoying little brother whom you're bound to love.

Milo's never one to be quiet, and he's got a big heart. That could be a good or bad thing, but you like to think of it as good. He's definitely the big brother type, and would do anything for his team. It's also pretty funny to see this scary, 6'1 or so person just start info-dumping, it's adorable really.

Tasha's always distant, and you find out that that's just how she is, it's not that she dislikes you or anything. She takes great care of her weapon, but struggles with voicing some things. She's often very blunt and feels bad about it at times, but doesn't show it. 

One thing's for sure though, these guys are all passionate about the game. And they feel like family, they give off a sense of home, which is very comforting. 

Tasha snipes another one of your opponents, saving Leo from getting splatted and securing another KO for your team. You look over at her, proud of how far they've come. Leo shouts a ‘Booyah’ and Tasha nods in acknowledgement. Now it's not just a jumbled mess of people everywhere, you all know your positions. Their weapons were already good for a team, they just didn't know how to use them. 

Tasha stands in the back, always on support. Leo always heads straight in, always on the offensive. Milo's job is to focus on the goal at hand, like the splatzone or tower, not letting anyone near said spot. You support all of your teammates, as a leader should. You're impressed with the progress you've made today, and offer to go to the mall with all the money you've just won. Leo's all for it, wanting to get a new video game that just dropped. Milo's down too, looking forward to a well deserved meal. Tasha's fine with it, she's craving boba anyways. You really need some decorations for your room, so you count up the money you have and make your way to the mall. 

Your first stop at the mall is the tea and boba shop, each getting a cup. You get your favorite flavor, Leo gets blueberry with mango popping pearls. Milo gets all watermelon, and Tasha gets a large cup with grape tea and strawberry popping pearls. Your next stop is the video game store, SquidStop. There’s a lot of anime figurines, video games, bags, hats, and other merchandise. Leo’s quick to spot a pink squid plush and run over to it, claiming it as his own. 

“Hey look! It looks like Aloha!”

Oh? He’s a fan of the S4? You suppose his energy does match Aloha’s somewhat, you’re not surprised he’s a fan. Milo goes over to him and shuffles through the plushie bin to find an orange squid plush. You see the smile on his face widen, the orange plush is safely secured. Leo looks over at Tasha after hugging his plush and gets an idea. He quickly sorts through the plushies to find a purple squid. He holds it above his head once found, and looks over at Tasha.

“Hey, look Tasha! I found Skull for ya!”

So, they’re fans of the S4? That’s nice, now you have an alibi for knowing so much about them if it ever comes up. You’re just a regular S4 fan is all, yup.

Tasha was browsing the acrylic charms when Leo caught her attention, and you notice her quickly pull up her bandanna and mumble something incomprehensible before going back to the charms.

Leo makes his way to the video games, looking for the latest ones. You figure that you should complete the collection, and you grab a cyan squid from the pile. You find a bunch of posters, some figures, and other merchandise to make your room feel more homey. You’re aware that this is going to be an expensive shopping spree, but you think you’ve deserved it. Tasha makes her way over to you, showing you four acrylic charms. They’re little squids, each corresponding to your main colors. Lime green for Milo, royal blue for Leo, purple for herself, and your main color for you. She shyly asks you if you think the others will like them.

“I think they’re cute, I’m sure Milo and Leo will love them.”

You didn’t want to embarrass her, but that’s just too sweet. She really does care for her team, even if she may not say it verbally.

The next few stops are the clothing stores. Milo was complaining about how his glasses got scratched in your guys' last battle. 

“You should get some sunglasses or something, you look dorky with those y’know.” 

Leo’s not wrong, but you found that it suited Milo’s soft personality well. But if you intend on being a scary team, you suppose that Milo would look good with sunglasses, even just for battle. Plus lots of the stages can get quite bright during the day.

“But they’re prescription! You know how bad my vision is, Leo!”

“Y’know, we can always just get prescription sunglasses, Milo.”

Milo complains that they’re too expensive, but you insist on paying for them. They’ve already done so much for you, after all, it’s the least you could do. You get Milo a pair of prescription tinted shades, and you make sure they fit just right before leaving the store. You spot an iconic piece of headgear, and you get an idea. You wordlessly go up to Tasha and gently grab the purple squid plush out of her hands. She’s hesitant to give it up, but she’s sure you won’t do anything bad with it. You go back to where you saw the piece of headgear and shield what you’re doing to the plush before spinning around with a smile on your face and presenting your masterpiece.

“Ta-daaa!~ It’s Skull now!”

You had tied a Skull bandana around the plush. Tasha shakes her head but you can tell there’s a smile under her bandanna, and Leo laughs at what you’ve done, but he’s quick to find a golf visor for his own plush. Once the gas mask and special forces beret have all been acquired and put on their individual plush, you guys make your way home to sort out all the stuff you bought.

Jay leans forward slightly out of interest "oh I'm 19" she replies while starting to paint his nails making the red head's eyes light up happily. “How long have you been working here?” “For about a year now or more” she answered immediately. Jay raises his eyebrows "well as I’ve said before, I’m the blue ninja, ya know..lightning, crime fighter” he grins “all that jazz” he said proudly making Y/N giggle "I wonder what’s it like being a ninja" She thought out loud with a curious expression. "It’s honestly exhausting but it’s worth it when we save people and make sure there’s no bad guys" Jay explained with a soft smile while Y/N puts one of his hands into a device, turning it on making a UV light shine on his fingers "don't move your hand until the timer goes off" she says, starting to do his other hand.

As Y/N was putting the nail polish back on the shelves, Jay quickly walks over to her "Y/N!~" he calls in a sing song tone.

The girl couldn't help but grin as she turns around "hi Jay!" she walks over and wraps her arms around his neck, both of them swaying lovingly as they hug.

The women in the store chuckled and smiled wide, some mumbling things like 'young love' and such.

"Is your shift over?" Jay asks while burying his face in her hair, Y/N nods slightly and hums "yeah but you're early, any special reason? You're normally here after I'm done packing up" she lets go of him and walks back to her desk to continue packing her stuff.

"Well didn't I owe you a date? I still feel bad for cancelling last time" Jay scratches the back of his neck "Babe it's okay, your sensei needed you and the other ninja for extra practice I don't blame you" Jay could've sworn you were an angel, he couldn't believe he had such a supportive and loving girl.

Y/N walks over to him and links her arm with his, intertwining their fingers while hugging his arm with her other hand "so where to?" She asks with an excited grin on her face.

Jay walked out with her while holding her hip "there's restaurant not too far from here so why not treat you to dinner" he places a gentle kiss on his lover's head. Y/N couldn't help but grin happily "you're so good to me, how can I pay you back?" "Sweetheart you don't have to pay me back, spending time with you is all I need"

"Love you're way too sweet, are you sure I'm your first girlfriend? Who wouldn't want an angel like you?" Y/N hugs his arm tightly against her chest, Jay grinning "keep my arm there yeah?" Y/N looks at him confused until she followed his gaze to his arm pressing against her breasts.

Y/N quickly looks up at him with a playful glare "you perv!" She gently hits his arm causing him to burst out laughing "I couldn't help it princess"

Jay lifts their intertwines hands up and kisses her knuckles, looking at his lover with a loving look causing her to blush "Sorry sweetheart.." "are you bribing me?" Y/N jokes.  Jay couldn't help but let out a chuckle as he cups her cheeks, squishing them "Thank you so much for giving me a chance.." Y/N placed a hand on one of his "of course honey..now let's get to that restaurant yeah?" "Of course"

Singapore Cheap Shipping Ratings

Going to be starting a series of reviews for merch manufacturing 'n stuff from Singapore. Tag is #merch hell.

As always, I go into detail on my process in my newsletter, which comes with free bird facts, so check it out if you haven't.

Introducing: Singapore Couriers

Shipping is expensive, especially overseas to the other side of the world. If you're in Southeast Asia, trying to get a half decent shipping rate for your international buyers is...painful. So, without further ado, here are my reviews:

Singpost

Go-to government mailing service.

Recommended:

- Local: Yes

- International: No

Pros:

- You can use stamps on these, and if you have a grandparent who left behind their huge collection or some free handouts, you can subsidize shipping to be pretty cheap.

- Post offices are everywhere, so it's usually a 5 minute walk to drop off your stuff.

Cons:

- You still have to drop your parcels off since there's no door to door pick up

- International tracking disappears off the face of the earth the moment it hits the destination country, which is not ideal. I sent two acrylic charms to the US, and one to Canada....

One caused my friend to go through the effort of calling his post office and dealing with a lot of customer service hell. Another one went missing. That is a pretty bad failure rate. This awful tracking is also well-documented.

Conclusion: If you love your customers, please don't use Singpost as a tracked service. Put disclaimers if you really want discounted tracking.

Justship

Newer shipping startup with competitive prices.

Recommended:

Local: Haven't tried, but there are more well known services (like Ninjavan).

International: Yes! Absolutely! But for smaller parcels, only US/UK is supported at the moment.

Pros:

- Really damn good customer service. Quick responses, friendly, and most importantly, *transparent*.

- Lets you set up a spreadsheet for bulk shipping, and provides integrations with storefronts like Shopify (sadly not BigCartel)

- Tracking in the destination country instead of disappearing

- Door to door pickup

- Parcels don't seem to be tampered with much? At least from what I've seen.

Cons:

- At the moment, there is no tracking while the parcels are being delivered to the destination country. So the opposite of Singpost, but still preferable. (However, they have told me they will be looking into it.)

- For smaller parcels like acrylic charms, cheap shipping only works for the US/UK. For everything else, it automatically defaults to the pricing of a higher volumetric weight, which is way more pricey than Qxpress. (Same as previous bullet point, they have told me they will try to support other countries in the future.)

- Door to door pickup is only for 5 or more deliveries. Otherwise, they expect you to drop it off at their warehouse, which for me is pretty far away.

Conclusion: Easily the best service here. Unfortunately they're a bit limited since they're a smaller company, and bulk orders are better, but the consistent quality is good, especially if you want to provide a good service to your customers (who are already paying 11USD minimum).

Qxpress

Cheap mailing service with a lot of existing big boi infrastructure in place.

Recommended:

- Local: There's better, there's worse. Eh.

- International: Yes for smaller batches (<5) or non US/UK countries

Pros:

- Ships damn near everywhere

- Door to door pickup regardless of order size, parcels, etc. They have dropoff stations too.

Cons:

- Tampers with your packages.

Smaller envelopes are safe, but they also paste a shitton of shipping labels over your stuff, some which may have truncated addresses.

Others have reported that they might open and repack larger parcels. Not exactly the best thing for privacy, or stuff in the parcels remaining intact.

- Door to door pickup takes their sweet time. Again, there are also reports of them missing the pickup.

- Doesn't appear to have a convenient option for bulk shipping, but I may not have noticed it?

Conclusion: Comparable prices to the other two, more flexible, but comes with standard shittiness of a large company cutting costs. Only use this for smaller shipments if Justship won't cut it. Your packages won't get lost, but they sure will get fucked with.

Tl;dr Justship is the GOAT.

Illiyork because I had to: when he told his italian family, they asked if illy was italian.this is totally not me sneaking a mixed french+italian Illinois what (bau if anyone wants to know about that hmu). Anyway his family was expecting not to like him but illinois came by and CHARMED THE PANTS OFF THESE PEOPLE. They love him so much. More than all the other in laws.

Had to rebreak several of his bones more than once to get them to heal properly.

Can dislocate his limbs and relocate them on command like a FREAK.

Hes not allowed to keep rats and pigeons in the house :( but he has his own place just for his animals literally right next door. Theyve connected the two houses with a makeshift tunnel.

I love bens voice for him but sometimes in my head i imagine him sounding like schlatt.

Not a lightweight, but could be drunken under the table by the entire country except the west (-alaska) and utah. I rest my case.

Is not against painting his nails. He let Chicago put acrylics on him once.

He lets the kids put makeup on him for funsies.

   “So cute…” Miyu mumbled to herself as she scribbled in her notebook.

   Aoi’s ears pricked up whilst she read a novel from the other end of the lounge. She felt Miyu squirm, her toes scrunched up and brushed up against Aoi. It wasn’t a very big lounge. Not when Miyu was sitting in one of end of it and basically laid out over it.

   “What’s cute?” Aoi asked.

   “You are.” Miyu flirted and poked out her tongue.

   Ever easy to fluster, Aoi felt her cheeks turn a rose pink.

   “You are!” Miyu insisted. How could she not as her girlfriend looked even more adorable than she did before?

   “Am not.” Aoi denied, though it was pointless to.

   “Are too.” Miyu continued to banter. “And,” she added, she began to get up, her chest all puffed out as she happily debuted her trump card, “I have proof.”

   “Alright, then, let’s see it.” Aoi replied.

   Exactly what Miyu wanted to hear.

   She really wanted to show Aoi what she was working on.

   Back at her school, Miyu was quite well known through a few of the different faculties over there. In the sports faculty, she was known for being a shark in the water. She was a swift and strong swimmer, the star of the swim club with many accolades conjoined to her name.

   Then in the arts department, she was also known for her talent and craft with a pen and paper. She was quite diverse when it came to what she was able to draw. Everyone in her classes knew that she could draw the cutest little anime characters or the creepiest portraits. Sometimes even both at once. She wasn’t good at non-character related mediums but she would give anything a crack once. Watercolours, acrylics, clay, it didn’t matter. Miyu loved to get creative.

   Though, conversely, she was known through the other departments of the school - like science, language, history, and mathematics, for example - for being an awful student. Flaky and undisciplined, rubbish at logic and recollection but shhh. This isn’t about the grades that Miyu was failing but rather the ones she was good at.

   Like art.

   “Tada.” Miyu said as she sat up, legs tucked under her like an eccentric genius detective from a certain supernatural-mystery anime, and flipped her notebook around so she could show Aoi her latest drawing.

   It was just a sketch. Nothing too serious, pfft. It wasn’t half bad. 

   But Aoi’s jaw dropped as she felt as though she were looking into a black and white photograph of… herself. The portrait was gorgeous, thin lead lines which overlapped here and there but that just added charm to the shading, all to make a somewhat realistic portrait of her: Zaizen Aoi.

   “Wow, Miyu, this is… oh my gosh.” Aoi stammered.

   “Aww, I’m gonna get a big head if you keep that up, ma’am.” Miyu smugly replied, like she wasn’t rolling around in glee on the inside.

   “No, really, thank you, I think its lovely, I hope you’re happy with it.” Aoi replied.

   “Oh, I am.” Miyu said.

   Aoi laughed. There was the lack of humbleness that she had been expecting.

   “Do you know what my favourite part of it is?” Miyu asked. 

   “Er, um…” Aoi erred as she was put on the spot.

   “C’mon, guess. It’s easy, I swear. Anyone could tell, I think.” Miyu egged her on.

   “Alright then.” Aoi replied.

   Miyu made sure she held her notebook steady so Aoi could get an extra good look at the drawing. Her eyes scanned left to right then up and down. She held her breath as she began her assessment.

   Was it her fringe? It looked so fluffy with just the suggestion of linework and some fuzzy shading. Or maybe her cheekbones? Miyu had rubbed out the lines there multiple times to get the curvature right, Aoi could tell from the eraser work but maybe she wasn’t that happy with it if it took multiple tries. It could even be her lips. That would make sense. Miyu had drawn them extra stylistically kissable, Aoi would think anyway but then of course.

   The delight of every artist, surely.

   “My eyes.” Aoi finally guessed.

   Miyu made a buzzer noise then chirped, “Nope. Close though.”

   “I see…” Aoi murmured as her brows furrowed together. She continued to study the portrait.

   Though that made Miyu impatient. She had been totally certain Aoi would guess correctly on the first try. 

   “Aww, come on, it's totally your charm point.” Miyu gave a hint.

   Aoi stared for another three seconds and then her shoulders slumped, “I give up.” she said with a defeatist sigh.

   “Your propeller sprout, duh!” Miyu said.

   “My what?” Aoi snorted quizzically.

   “Your propeller sprout!” Miyu repeated herself to little recognition.

   Aoi’s lack of response continued to be lacklustre. So Miyu sighed and with startling precision, for not being able to see her own drawing, she pointed on the picture of Aoi she had drawn what Aoi’s “propeller sprout” was: the little pokey-outie bit at the back of her hair. The bane of her morning hair care routine.

   “Ohhh…” Aoi said. “I call it my cowlick.”

   “Well it's very cute whatever it is.” Miyu replied snidely.

   Aoi laughed.

   “It is.” Miyu affirmed.

   “It's so annoying though, it never sticks down when I want it to! So many school picture days ruined by it…” Aoi complained.

   Miyu gasped dramatically, “How dare! It’s your charm point, or so says me.” 

   Miyu’s antics continued to make Aoi smile and laugh. A bit harder now to consider it an annoyance now, she supposed. But the point, already well and truly made by now, was still not made enough in Miyu’s eyes as she scooted in closer to her girlfriend, putting away her notebook.

   “It’s so cute and fluffy, see?” Miyu said.

   She reached out and Aoi’s heart skipped a beat. Miyu toyed with the so-called propeller sprout at the back of her head, proving just how fluffy - and bouncy - it was. With just a stroke of her pointer finger, Miyu had it swaying side to side.

  “Okay… it's a little cute.” Aoi grumbled.

   “Told you.” Miyu said.

   But instead of fully retreating her hand, she ran it through the rest of Aoi’s hair. It was soft and, well, fluffy. Her bob-cut slowly growing out, she wanted it to be long again, sort of like when she was a tiny tot again. Miyu smiled as she caressed Aoi’s cheek, though with clumps of Aoi’s hair through her fingers.

   “Are your fingers stuck…?” Aoi asked, embarrassed.

   “Ah, no, just thinking about how, well, all of you is cute. I shouldn’t limit your cuteness to just one charm point.” Miyu replied.

   Aoi’s face went strawberry red. Miyu’s words were so sweet and earnest, it was hard to consider them flirting. She just said whatever she was thinking. She was that kind of person, free and open as a book. 

   “You are so shameless.” Aoi squealed.

   “I can’t help myself.” Miyu giggled.

   Though she did let go of Aoi’s hair and picked up her notebook again. She had some more ideas on how to draw Aoi now. Though, she didn’t retreat into her end of the lounge, instead she changed how she sat and snuggled into Aoi’s side. Aoi let her and placed her arm over Miyu’s neck and shoulders. She could probably read with just one hand so long as she was clever.

   Meanwhile, Miyu began to draw some cartoony takes on Aoi’s physical appearance and her cute propeller sprout.

Honestly i want to so bad. But idk how to make them or use a manufacturer like that. The only easy and simple way for me to do it is to sell stickers on redbubble. (which i have done b4) but if you’re actually interested on wanting charms from me. I can get down and start making designs and try to find an easy way to get them and to sell them! :D

I don't know if some of my older followers from my old blog remember, but last year around October I drew two very rough sketches for Prettyboytober's two first prompts: Diamond and Mood. The prompts immediately made me think of my ocs Riki and Seki, whose shipname is Crystalmoon Two designs popped in my mind, and I wanted to realize them at some point, even though my arms weren't in the condition at the time. Well, this year I finished those sketches!

I'm really happy with these, although I couldn't quite get the Seki one exactly right. I still don't know what there is bothering me, and I have multiple slightly different renditions of it 😅

I made holographic stickers out of these, mostly because I love my ocs so much, not so much for financial profit.. and well, nobody else but my therapist and my friend have bought these so far XD Is it bad that I ordered holographic, and a rainbow acrylic charm of these as well? :'D Only three of each tho..! ;w;

I hope you don't mind my asking but I'm genuinely confused and trying to gather as much info as possible. Zines. Created by fans containing fanart and fics yes? How can you morally sell and profit from them? They contain IP you don't own as an individual? I'm a fandom oldie so my view on it might be be skewered by old fandom views that fics and fanart are non profit enjoyments. I'm just curious where this shift came from. I see more and more people putting fics behind commission walls and I just can't wrap my head around it.

I don't know if I'm the right person to answer this, I'm just a dude who yells about Sabo online when I'm not at work. But I'll try??

The way zines are set up, the money that's paid during pre-orders is used for the manufacturing of the physical items: the book itself that contains the writing/art and various merchandise like acrylic charms. So basically, the majority of the money earned is used to make the physical item as well as to fund shipping costs and shipping material like boxes and bubble wrap.

The zine I wrote for recently was non-profit, all extra proceeds not used for manufacturing and shipping costs will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund. I honestly love the idea that a bunch of young people like me can use their passions to help a good cause. I don't make enough at my dayjob to donate to charities all the time, although I would love to. Even a few dollars is hard to give because the cost of living is such a train wreck. But non-profit zines are a really beautiful way to help foundations by using personal passions and hobbies like fanart and fanfic.

"Why not just donate directly to charity instead of buying the physical zine?" I don't think it's evil to want something in return. I don't think it's a bad thing to get a little book in return for donating to something.

Yes there are zines that are for profit, but I don't really see that as a bad thing either to be honest. A lot of the properties that are used as inspiration for these zines are multi-million dollar franchises. I don't think it's robbing for creators to get barely a fraction of that. Even for less popular franchises that make less money. Zines are a fun way to show your love of something and get unique fan-made merchandise that never would have existed otherwise. I don't think that's wrong.

As for the fics being behind a pay wall, I have never seen that. All fanfics that are written for zines are published publicly once the physical items have been shipped out. Everyone will get to enjoy the work put into these zines, but you also get a chance to have them as a carefully composed physical book that you can have forever, which is pretty cool.

Also, the writers I've seen who have taken commission work have always posted the finished fics publicly, so their commissions aren't behind a paywall either. Commissions are simply a way for fans who don't always write, maybe don't have the time to write, to pay for something special and individually focused to their standards. Nothing wrong with that either, I think. It's all just a way to interact with fandom.

To think she'd run into this girl again so soon. Reanne wasn't expecting it, but to see her most decent customer when she wasn't working was a surprise. They had run into each other while browsing the game section, and apparently Vivian was keen on dragging her into the world of 2D boys along with her via a genre of games she said were... otome(?). Well, she didn't mind, but she still had to get through the first set of recommendations that her newfound acquaintance had given her (it wouldn't be right to call her a friend yet; most people would be disillusioned after a bit and want to cut ties).

Reanne had come to grab another set of joycons for her console and leave pronto before someone thought she was actually working, but she wouldn't say no to spending a quick minute with a potential new friend. It didn't take long for them to enter a long discussion over the genre and for Reanne to keep reassuring the dark-haired girl that she would eventually get to playing those recommended titles.

❝ I haven't played this one yet, Vivian, ❞ Reanne bluntly remarked as she looked at the character keychain. Still, this dark haired guy with the bangs covering one eye seemed kinda cute. His eyes kind of reminded her of someone she knew. So, she graciously took the offered keychain carefully into her hands. While the auburn-haired girl wasn't one to really collect merchandise like this, she would treat this carefully as it was clearly something that the other girl valued, ❝ I have to work through that one with the girl who poisons people via touch and... what was the other one? The one where... ❞

She ran a hand through her hair as she tried to recall it, ❝ Agh, I can't remember but I will give those games back to you once I'm done. I did start the first one! I got the glasses guy who shoots salt at people route. ❞ Could she really say she wasn't a fan of the heroine hence her stalling on playing more of it?

Lowering her hand and clasping the charm in her hands, she grew visibly nervous, ❝ but are you really sure you want to give me this? This kind of stuff means a lot to you right? I'd feel bad to take it from you when I don't particularly care for this sort of thing. ❞
