🧿 He’s also in Hades class as a senior but they aint rly close, no bad blood but they just have their own friends. Though If they were to be paired up they’d make a very good duo.

So yesterday my friends and I

- Were told the story of Steve the Walmart Electronics Guy, who was accosted by a MAGAt for not voting trump (Steve simply said his vote was between him and the box), and who called him a slur, to which Steve replied "Did I see you on Grindr earlier, you're kinda cute." The interaction went from there. I thanked Steve for his service to this country.

- Waited for the friend whose house we were going to to actually get home because traffic sucks so we went to this bar 2 streets away and just chilled there until we got the clear.

- Saw Shrek bc I had never seen it all the way through. Before I had always been made to experience it in chunks.

- Watched all available episodes of Dandadan. Pretty good, I was nerding out over the writing and gorgeous artwork the whole time.

- Chased our host's escape artist dog to another yard when she stopped running only to take a piss and ran back inside the house after the thunder started rumbling in the distance.

- Got caught in the torrential rain on a road with no streetlights and no clear markers. One of us had an essay due at 11:59. The driver couldn't see, and was searching desperately for a port in the storm. We saw the yellow neon glow of the Waffle House. And so the prophecy I had foretold earlier that day came true: "You don't go to Waffle House, you wind up at Waffle House."

- The essay friend is Australian and had/has never been to Waffle House, Rudy's, or Denny's despite living in Texas for a little over 8 years. We had intended to rectify the Waffle House thing at a later date. Evidently the gods had other plans.

- Scared the hell outta poor Kevin the Waffle House Guy because we got a text from...

And he said that in order to not collide into the Moon try to corrupt Tilion on the way, Morgoth should probably be thrown out on new moon. Because when you launch something into outer space (as opposed to, say, orbit of the Earth) you want it to go in direction opposite to the sun, and on new moon the Moon is furthest from there.

So, the event will be (this year)

With each of the plays I have looked over and chosen to speak more about in this post they each give off the energy of the five stages of grief - a TTPD theory that Taylor herself has acknowledged and made Apple Music playlists for. Coriolanus is very reminiscent of the second stage, anger. The aggression, the need for revenge and control is something Taylor has discussed in her writing before and probably will discuss again on this new album. This topic was most discussed on reputation, which also happens to be the first album to have Joe Alwyn as a muse. Also, Coriolanus being persuaded by his mother is similar to Now That We Don't Talk with Taylor discussing the topic with her mother, "I called my mom, she said that it was for the best / I called my mom, she said to get it off my chest." The excerpt that is shown can be put into the context of Taylor and Joe's PR teams having a subtle yet public discussion. It's believed that Joe's team tells The Daily Mail information, while Taylor's tells Entertainment Tonight. This can be seen in respective articles on April 11, 2023 when the break up was all over. When TTPD was announced, a source from Joe said, "If it is a diss album, that is shady. He helped her with song writing on her past album so it will really come as a shock to him if she talks about their breakup, as it is something he has not spoken of at all." Then the response was basically: Taylor writes about her life and will write about the good and bad in every relationship. This is not new and should've been expected. What I'm trying to portray is that Joe already knows what Taylor's up to when it comes to her songwriting - especially on TTPD. Taylor intends to reveal everything in her own way - like she has done multiple times with other exes (Harry Styles being a notable one).

Henry IV Part 1:

Synopsis: "Henry IV, Part 1, culminates in the battle of Shrewsbury between the king’s army and rebels seeking his crown. The dispute begins when Hotspur, the son of Northumberland, breaks with the king over the fate of his brother-in-law, Mortimer, a Welsh prisoner. Hotspur, Northumberland, and Hotspur’s uncle Worcester plan to take the throne, later allying with Mortimer and a Welsh leader, Glendower. As that conflict develops, Prince Hal—Henry IV’s son and heir—carouses in a tavern and plots to trick the roguish Sir John Falstaff and his henchmen, who are planning a highway robbery. Hal and a companion will rob them of their loot—then wait for Falstaff’s lying boasts. The trick succeeds, but Prince Hal is summoned to war. In the war, Hal saves his father’s life and then kills Hotspur, actions that help to redeem his bad reputation. The play itself is similar to the first and third stages of grief, denial and bargaining. The excerpt shows bargaining as well. She is begging to know more, to know everything that is causing him turmoil - begging for the footnotes in the story of your life-esque. There are many areas of this section where I can point to folklore, Lover, and Midnights (I will discuss it more in detail in another post).

A Midsummer Night’s Dream:

Synopsis: "In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, residents of Athens mix with fairies from a local forest, with comic results. In the city, Theseus, Duke of Athens, is to marry Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons. Bottom the weaver and his friends rehearse in the woods a play they hope to stage for the wedding celebrations. Four young Athenians are in a romantic tangle. Lysander and Demetrius love Hermia; she loves Lysander and her friend Helena loves Demetrius. Hermia’s father, Egeus, commands Hermia to marry Demetrius, and Theseus supports the father’s right. All four young Athenians end up in the woods, where Robin Goodfellow, who serves the fairy king Oberon, puts flower juice on the eyes of Lysander, and then Demetrius, unintentionally causing both to love Helena. Oberon, who is quarreling with his wife, Titania, uses the flower juice on her eyes. She falls in love with Bottom, who now, thanks to Robin Goodfellow, wears an ass’s head. As the lovers sleep, Robin Goodfellow restores Lysander’s love for Hermia, so that now each young woman is matched with the man she loves. Oberon disenchants Titania and removes Bottom’s ass’s head. No epilogue, I pray you. For your play needs no excuse. Never excuse. For when the players are all dead, there need none to be blamed. Marry, if he that writ it had played Pyramus and hanged himself in Thisbe’s garter, it would have been a fine tragedy; and so it is, truly, and very notably discharged. But, come, your Bergomask. Let your epilogue alone. ⌜Dance, and the players exit.⌝ The iron tongue of midnight hath told twelve. Lovers, to bed! ’Tis almost fairy time. I fear we shall outsleep the coming morn As much as we this night have overwatched. This palpable-gross play hath well beguiled The heavy gait of night. Sweet friends, to bed. A fortnight hold we this solemnity In nightly revels and new jollity.

The excerpt here, once again, has many points where connections to Taylor's previous work can be easily made. But, also, it shows the final and fifth stage of grief, acceptance.

The Merchant of Venice - In 2019, for Lover promotion, Taylor came out with a playlist called The Playlist of ME! on Apple Music. It featured ME! and eventually You Need To Calm Down when it came out (because this playlist came out originally on May 23, 2019), but also many songs from other artists. One of the songs was Venice Bitch by Lana Del Rey.

Yes I will ALWAYS have Kenric and Oralie headcanons

Individuals first:

Oralie is really shy, and hesitant to make friends, but she can be an incredible friend once you get to know her

Kenric has a wide circle of friends, but only a couple of really close ones

In Council meetings, Oralie doesn't talk much but takes in absolutely everything. Seriously, nothing gets past this woman. She's so quiet you might forget she's there, but she will listen to every single word you say

Kenric is the "funny guy" a lot of the time, but he's also loyal and dedicated to helping the people

The two of them, especially Kenric, can almost always be counted on to vote for mercy

Oralie somehow got her hands on a human book as a kid and is now obsessed with human books

She mainly likes romance and fantasy, but read horror once by accident and it's now kind of a guilty pleasure

Kenric is obsessed with the stars/astronomy

Whenever there's a comet/eclipse of some sort, he'll go outside and watch it, without fail

Before Oralie, there wasn't anyone who would randomly watch the sunset with him and listen to his speeches about the Prime Sources, but now he has someone to talk to about it

Now as a couple/friends:

They're the classic "looks like a cinnamon roll but could kill you" (Oralie) paired with the "looks like they could kill you but is a cinnamon roll (Kenric)

Oralie blushes really easily and she hates it

Because of that, Kenric loves to embarrass her

Only when the two of them are alone, though. He'd never embarrass her in public

Underneath their romance, they have a very solid friendship

It started out with hating each other and feeling jealous of one another, but once they got past that, they became good friends really quickly

They both have physical touch as their primary love language, so when they were friends, they'd casually touch one another, not thinking anything of it

Oralie would lean her head on his shoulder, Kenric would wrap his arm around her, just little things like that

Oralie's really good at hiding her emotions, being an Empath, but Kenric can't hide his to save his life

Something I find really interesting, which is especially evident during their scene in the Unlocked novella- Oralie, the Empath, makes decisions based on logic, and Kenric, the Telepath, makes decisions based on emotions

At any given point in a Council event, you can assume that they are flirting talking telepathically to one another

Kenric loves to brush/style her hair, and he's gotten pretty good at it, too

He's also one of the only willing victims of her makeovers

They will call each other any time, day or night, no questions asked. Both of them have regular nightmares -perks of being a Councillor- and they always know the other one will be willing to wake up and help them through it

Now, after Kenric's death, sometimes Oralie will go to the Wanderling Woods and spend a particularly rough night under his Wanderling

I don't really have particular places that make me feel at home, mainly because I've never had a stable home growing up, but I'd like to say being out in nature, or being in a concert hall of some sorts, would come close to that feeling.

I have one big houseplant named Spike, a tiger plant gifted to me by one of my musician colleagues before she moved to a different state after graduation!

Aesthetically, I have a black Queen (band) hoodie that is simple but I am in love with it. On more "comfort" levels, I got a grey hoodie this past summer when I went to the National Music Festival in Maryland! Its extremely warm and very big, and has the festival symbol on it :)

The last thing I ordered was a QR code sticker off of Etsy, one that, when opened, will lead to violist Timothy Ridout's album "Henri Vieuxtemps: Complete Works for Viola" on Spotify (:D). That album is part of my Roman Empire

AS A MUSIC HISTORY NERD (the emphasis being placed on viola), I have thought this out many times. My top choice would be to witness the premiere performance of the (York) Bowen Viola Concerto in C minor, Op. 25, when it first was premiered in 1907 by the virtuosic performer Lionel Tertis at a Philharmonic Society Concert in Queen's Hall (London). That piece is my favorite viola concerto, and it deserves to have more outreach. The composition style is rooted in the (British) Late-Romantic tradition, but holds many traces to predeceasing music traditions.

unfortunately I don't have a lot of good memories with halloween growing up, BUT my favorite costume I've ever worn had to be my demon Crowley costume from this past halloween 🤣 It turned out pretty well, and I know so many people who also dressed up as Crowley, especially after Good Omens S2!

'Supercool' or 'Also the 924th anniversary of the death of William Rufus' or 'you should never try to persuade people not to exercise their right to vote' or even 'so why do you then support terrorists?' Whatever, though, really. Whatever I might want to say as a member of this community that supposedly values engagement.

But more and more, really alla time, I'm seeing instead of a window in which to type my thoughts, a message that says 'Replies are restricted for this post.' And 1) I thought Tumblr was kind of *about* engagement so 2) why the fuck are you choosing to switch that off and 3) Even if I agree with you, but especially if I don't, you are a coward for a) if I agree with you, refusing to allow a righteous post to grow organically in righteousness or b) if I disagree with you, refusing to allow a counterpoint. Strong ideas will after all grow stronger in response to misguided criticism.

Not that this site isn't already somewhat about jerking off, but when every post is 'Replies are restricted for this post', that's when this site has become ALL about jerking off.
