ooh, girl! lemme tell ya. this is gonna be a long one, and i will preface this saying i absolutely do not have all the facts and details, but this is what i’ve gathered in my time being a mostly soft neverland.

when (g)i-dle debuted they released this v beautiful mv along with their debut song latata. in the mv the girls had henna in their hands, which, ok. nothing too bad, right. but that was just the beginning of a very weird history of cultural appropriation.

then they released another banger: hann (alone). amazing vocals. amazing sound. cool choreo. but the mv was littered with all these…hm. middle eastern references. which. ok, latata also had some of that. it’s…ok. maybe they’re just going for A Thing. it’s ok. this is just their first comeback, their second single overall, and their first digital single release ever. BUT during one of end of year shows, the girls found themselves in hot water bc they had a stage where they had freaking synagogue as their backdrop. not even like a cool 3d stage, it was printed synagogue on freaking sheet. we all collectively had a very oof moment. (also, shuhua had like, no lines in this song. a crime on itself.)

after that came senorita. which should have been called señorita. it was catchy, it was replayble, it was spicy. it was also also kind of weird how they had a guy just singing “señorita” in the background, and no other lyrics in spanish, other than soojin saying “señor” by the end…hm. also the beat is just very generic “latin-inspired” song. in one of their live stages they had a fake-ass mariachi band as their….back up dancers. or whatever. they were just in the background pretending to play the trumpets. which personally i found more funny than offensive. but also i’m mexican and when momoland dressed up in ponchos, sombreros and fake mustaches, me and my sister just laughed and went “haha we do look like that!” i can take a joke. like, very easily. (also, if you want a more tactful latin-inspired k-pop song, listen to vav’s senorita & give me more. absolute bops imo.)

after that came uh-oh, which is a very clearly an old-hip hop inspired comeback, even down to the mv. it’s proooobably my favorite song of theirs ngl. this comeback wasn’t…too bad or shrouded in controversy, ‘cause tbh the mv director did a pretty good job at paying homage to late 90s/early 2000s music videos. but still, some people were skeptical considering the rep they had been building up. and at this time it was becoming very clear that soyeon is calling the shots, or at least has the most say out of all the girls both in songwriting and art directing when it comes to their concepts/mvs.

during the summer/fall of 2019 gidle participated in the competition show queendom. in the show, during the planning of the stage performance for their cover of 2ne1′s fire, soyeon asked yuqi to make “tribal sounds” for the opening of the song and sing it like she’s “an african chief” and said this was how they could keep their sound, which she describes as “ethnic hip.” it was. gross. and the rest of the girls just laughed it off. queendom pretty much ended up confirming everyone suspicions that soyeon is the one coming up with these ideas and the rest of the girls are just there to do what she says. you can look up the behind the scenes and planning of the stages on m-net’s youtube channel. soojin doesn’t even get a word out when they were planning the fire stage. it’s…weird ngl. you can’t even accuse m-net of evil editing this one bc she just says that! like, wtf. anyways [here is an excerpt of the video]. she says it with such a straight face, too. ew.

people demanded an apology from gidle, soyeon more specifically. it never came. so people boycotted their next release: lion. honestly i don’t know if any transgressions happened during this time cuz i was just so put off by what was mentioned above that to this day i can’t really even vibe to lion. it just brings a guttural disgust to my whole being.

i’m little iffy on the timeline here – bc like i mentioned, i was keeping as far away as possible from gidle at the time cuz of soyeon’s comments – but i do remember that some time after yuqi found herself in hot water for a comment she made about shuhua during a livestream that went like she “needed darker skin to be a police because her white skin wouldn’t let her to catch criminals at night.” or at least that’s how a fanclub made it sound like. it sounded v suspish, but a lot of fans came to her defense saying the joke was poking fun at how fair shuhua is and how she wasn’t actually making fun of darker skin. the fanclub that made the translation actually came out with a letter of apology saying they had rushed the translation and the joke was actually little more nuanced than what they made it out to be. regardless, yuqi actually apologized on a fancafe letter. which was actually really nice of her, since the mistake wasn’t so much on her part, and if anything this is a way lighter offense than anything soyeon has ever done or said, and yet….

it’s been awhile since gidle/soyeon have said or done anything since – well, it’s been a while since they have released anything, and they’ve been under a microscope since the queendom incident. also, i haven’t payed attention at all to what they have been doing, if they have been doing anything, lol.

their latest transgression has been the very blatant, very suspicious uplifting of imagery from fka twig’s cellophane mv onto their mv for their newest single, oh my god. @anna-something made a [post] which very clearly lays it all out, screenshots and everything. considering all the evidence above i have to say this one also falls on soyeon’s shoulders yet again. also, as i was making this post someone commented on an yt comment i made on a mv reaction of the mv (since i’m not gonna give them views, lol) saying “maybe they have the same mv director.” i looked it up, they don’t. cellophane was directed by andew thomas huang, while oh my god was directed by yoon rima.

in conclusion, it is very exhausting to try to stan (g)i-dle. wouldn’t recommend it. mostly because soyeon does not seem like the greatest person ever. now, i will say i am all for cultural appreciation! in fact, i tried to believe that’s what they were going for during senorita. but… it’s become very clear that soyeon doesn’t understand there IS a line between appreciation and blatant appropriation, so she tends to fall on the latter. if she just apologized, strived to be better, and actually took the criticism and applied it towards becoming a better person – and therefore a better artist – than i could get behind her 100%. but as it stands right now, i don’t like her. i don’t like her at all. i have given her chances, but she does not seem to want to accept her missteps. she doesn’t even addresses them at all. and i’m tired. if yuqi could, why can’t she? i doubt cube, as shady as they are, is keeping her from releasing some sort of statement. 

if she intends to make it big over here in the west she needs to grow up, she needs to apologize. until she does that she will continue to jeopardize not only her own career, but also yuqi’s, miyeon’s, soojin’s, shuhua’s, and minnie’s careers, and they really don’t deserve that. she might be the biggest voice in the group, but she’s also the one dragging them down. Experimental SHINee - Feature Spotlight

Hello babies, and welcome to the next Feature Spotlight in the SHINee Spotlight series!! My name is Jace (aka Felicity B), and today we're gonna be taking a slow drive through SHINee's more experimental era. This era in SHINee's career actually features my first SHINee comeback (Dream Girl, dahlings), so I am The Most Excited™ for this FSL!! It feels like Dream Girl dropped ten years ago, rather than just five, but I guess that's what K-Pop does to you.

And in case anyone is wondering why I'm going in reverse chronological order, it's because 1of1 and Misconceptions of Me are my favorite SHINee albums.

Era Spotlight

So, I cheated. I really should have featured from DxDxD in this list instead of ones from FIVE, but I don't really like DxDxD!?!??! It's literally my least favorite SHINee album, sis. FIVE, to be frank with you all, fit more in line with the '90s 5HINee era, but it also fits in this experimental era pretty well.

The name of the game here is experimental, folks. SHINee must have gotten a little bored after they decided to go RnB again after LUCIFER. The bulk of the songs on this list were released in 2013, a year that SHINee really pushed the boundaries of who they were as a group, and I almost kind of miss it. Granted, I loved the maturity in sound they came back with on Odd and 1of1 (the former more than the latter, tbh), but this experimental phase was just a fun time to be a SHINee fan. This list includes songs from both Misconceptions albums, the Everybody mini album, and the previously mentioned Japanese album FIVE.

Spoiler (Misconceptions of You ~Dream Girl~)

Gurl... SHINee was not fuckin' around with us with Spoiler.

Spoiler is a song that Jonghyun wrote incorporating all the song titles from the Misconceptions series in the lyrics. And sis, I was like, "This is cute, or whatevahs!!" when he spoiled the tracklisting for Misconceptions of You, but when Misconceptions of Me dropped and we found out he spoiled that too?!?!?! My wig wasn't just lopsided, she was free floating in space.

SHINee really fucking Did That™ with Spoiler, sis.

Spoiler sounds like someone took Sherlock, and turned her into a vampire. Spoiler is Sherlock's darker and more seductive older sister. It's kind of interesting how they kicked off the Misconceptions series with Spoiler, a song that starts out like their previous title track, but with a dark twist. It's almost like they were making a statement, sis. This SHINee is New and Improved™ SHINee. This SHINee is Upgraded™ SHINee. SHINee 2.0, if you will. We snatched you with RnB/Funk, we snatched you with EDM, and now we're gonna snatch you with both. Enjoy!!

Symptoms (Everybody)

I imagine sex feels like what listening to this song feels like.

Symptoms is an eletro-RnB song that sounds like it was snatched right from the Billboard Top 40. Which doesn't surprise me, because it was produced by the Underdogs (who also produced EXO's Overdose, another song that's dripping in that Top 40 sound from the time). Symptoms is a song that starts out loud and proud; it gives you Drama™, and it gives zero fucks about it. She looks at you without a care in the world and says, "My name is Symptoms, what did you expect!?!?! A cutesy pop track?!?!?! Boi, if you don't get!!"

And mind you, that's what I love about ha.

I fucking love a SHINee song that gives us all the bells and whistles, because they really don't have to. Look at Odd Eye - she's as stripped back as it gets for RnB midtempos, but SHINee still Shine Bright Like A Diamond!! But here's the thing - these dramatic ass niggas love songs like these. You can't tell me these SHINee boys don't love a beat with all the bells and whistles; the way they always come correct on songs like these says it all.

Become Undone (FIVE)

Speaking of songs that lack bells and whistles, Become Undone is not one of them. You'd have to be a Fool™ to think a song titled Become Undone on a Japanese record could be a toned down track.

These types of songs are usually the most dramatic.

Become Undone is an angsty song. She's a song I can see playing during a scene where an anime protagonist has to make an extremely hard decision. Like, intentionally stepping into a trap to save your friends, or deciding between saving your loved ones or the world (don't look at me like that, you guys have seen Sailor Moon).

The main star of the show here is the chorus. That's true of most pop songs, but especially so for Become Undone. She features The SHINee Specialty™ (their ridiculous ability to blend their harmonies together like fuckin' buttah), the trap beats presented in the verse kicked up 10,000 for Maximum Drama™, and orchestral stabs that tie everything together. Become Undone has one of the most emotionally satisfying choruses I've heard in a pop song. Sis, I'm literally the INTENSIFIES meme listening to this song, it's just so good.

I'm really glad that groups like SHINee have had the pleasure of working with a Japanese team to release music in Japan, because it allows them to play with their sound in a way that they can't in Korea. And that's not to say that SHINee haven't played with their sound in Korea (this FSL is literally on the era they experimented with their sound the most), but there's certain sounds and textures that are specifically J-Pop in feel, and it's really cool to see a group like SHINee tap into that.

Orgel (Misconceptions of Me ~Why So Serious~)

Okay sis, now we're actually bringing it down a notch. Not for long, but I figured y'all could use a break, even if it's short lived.

Orgel is a song that's quite similar to Odd Eye in the fact that it's SHINee driving the song with their vocal performance, and the beat is going along for the ride. Orgel also features a melody that sounds like a something you'd hear in a music box, and while that motif is quite overused in pop music, it doesn't make Orgel feel played out. It's just a really pretty song from five really pretty boys.

Orgel is a really neat song, because even though SHINee are driving the song with their voice, they're really not doing a whole lot on the beat. Their vocal performance on Orgel is subtle in the same way the beat is (or rather, as subtle as these boys get), but they still stand out. It's an interesting experience, sis.

Queen of New York (Everybody)

Now this is A Song™, sis.

Queen of New York feels very lounge cafe, sis; she's very "let me sip my expensive coffee drink while I read the latest copy of Cosmo or OK! Magazine". Queen of New York is also very much something the drag queens are voguing to at the local gay club. Miss Queen of New York is a woman of many moods, okay?!?!?!

Queen of New York was a very fun surprise, because I don't think anyone was expecting a song quite like this on the Everbody mini album. She's very edgy, but in a way that you don't expect songs described as "edgy" to sound. Queen of New York has a very polished feel to her, but there's a dirtiness to her that you can't tame. She's a proper Upper Middle Side woman, but she's not afraid to take a walk on the wild side. She's not afraid to show you how to get down, and I just love that so much.

One Minute Back (Everybody)

This is also A Song™, babes.

One Minute Back is grungy, sis. She's not a proper Upper Middle Side woman, she's a punk rock/biker girl with a flair for the dramatic. Ain't nothin' polished here, ladies!! Well, SHINee's vocals are pretty polished, but that's a given. I've never heard a SHINee song where the vocals weren't produced to a T.

But despite that, Ms One Minute Back and Ms Queen of New York are happily married!!

One Minute Back, like Queen of New York, was a song I was pleasantly surprised to hear on Everybody. One Minute back has such grungy verses, but then the chorus and the bridge are so Funky and so SHINee. BUT THE TWO DIFFERENT VIBES BLEND TOGETHER LIKE IT'S NOTHING!! It's such an aurally pleasing experience, you guys!! The reason I compared One Minute Back to Queen of New Year is that they're both marry these two moods to amazing results. I mean, Queen of New York doesn't fully commit to the grunginess, but there's enough of it lying below the surface that it's worth mentioning.

ABOAB (FIVE)

Ms ABOAB is a Bad Bitch™. She's a Boss Bitch™. She has no time for your games, boo. Ms ABOAB is a brazen ElectroFunk number that makes no apologizes.

If SHINee wanted to make a record like Everybody for the Japanese market, ABOAB would have been the title track/lead single. Miss ABOAB is spicy. She's seductive. Miss ABOAB is full on club bounce, and I McFucking L O V E when SHINee do those kinds of songs. There's just something so sexy about them working that club vibe, sis. I lowkey wasn't ready for ABOAB, but she really didn't care. She mesmerizes with the way she flits between emphasizing her Funk and Electro elements.

And that damn drop with the horn line... BITCH!! My wig has been compromised.

Runaway (Misconceptions of You ~Dream Girl~)

Runaway is another ElectroFunk track, but brighter and poppier in a way that contrasts ABOAB quite nicely. It's no less fun and club ready, tho.

Runaway is mainly driven by a punchy synth stab and SHINee's very fun usage of their vocal harmonies. While Miss ABOAB would whip ha weave in ya face if you ever tried to talk to her, Miss Runaway would make silly faces at you and coax you into doing silly dances. I, always and forever, wanna see SHINee in concert, but I especially wanna see Runaway and ABOAB performed live, because they always do these types of club ready tracks Just Right™.

Hitchhiker (Misconceptions of You ~Dream Girl~)

Because God Knows^™ these boys can't not give us a track that channels the very essence of MJ and his weave.

If Spoiler was too gimmicky of a sequel to Sherlock for you, then Hitchhiker is your song. Hitchhiker, to me, sounds like the perfect representation of this era in SHINee's discography - let's take what we already do well and marry it to a whole new palette of song styles/textures, and see what sticks.

And lemme tell you somethin' - Hitchhiker sticks like fucking glue. Remember what I said about SHINee loving the bells and whistles that comes with doing over the top songs?!?!?! That's in full effect here, sis. Hitchhiker is anthemic as all fuck, and these boys ride that beat like they were made for it. And to be completely, I have no doubt in my mind that they were.

Nothing to Lose (FIVE)

So who else was expecting to get something hella grungy like Natalia Kills' Break You Hard or Seventeen's Clap with how hard that guitar was filtered?!?!?! I can't be the only one here.

Nothing to Lose bait and switches us with that dark n grungy guitar riff, because the majority of the song is rather bright n poppy. But I really can't be mad, because I rather liked the way they transitioned the darker sections into the brighter ones. And Nothing to Lose is pure octane fun. It's kind of a hard song to hate, because it gives zero fucks about how cutesy and cheesy it is.

There's also a rather nice helping of Funk thrown into the mix, but I'm gonna pretend that that had nothing to do with much I like this song. Even though it's what makes me like it the most.

Punch Drunk Love (Misconceptions of You ~Dream Girl~)

Punch Drunk Love channels Love Like Oxygen like SHINee's producers were in the studio intentionally trying to produce a sequel to the song. And if you know anything about me, you know that Love Like Oxygen is literal auditory C R A C K for my black ass. Punch Drunk Love also sounds like SHINee's writers held a seance and channeled MJ's spirit when they were writing the song for the boys.

And y'all already K N O W I'm here for that shit.

Punch Drunk Love is the SHINee Five™ on autopilot, sis. SHINee will never not know how to come correct with a Funk song, and it warms my heart. The attitude, the harmonies (THE BUMBACLOT HARMONIES), the overall feel of the song; SHINee gets it right. If you ever needed a pickmeup, then put on SHINee's Punch Drunk Love, and thank me later. This is another song that is unabashedly cheesy, but gives absolutely zero fucks about it.

Isn't it beautiful!?!?!?

Evil (Misconceptions of Me ~Why So Serious~)

Evil can be summed by in two words - Drama and Killer Harmonies.

That's technically three, but you know what the fuck I meant.

Evil is SHINee at their most dramatic. I remember Shawols losing their collective minds at the fancams from the concert performances where they wore blindfolds.

Yes, you read that correctly. These dramatic ass motherfuckers were performing on stage with blindfolds on. They were, more than likely, see through blindfolds, but never doubt SHINee's collective love of the Drama™. They absolutely would dance completely blindfolded.

Evil starts out slow, but I very much doubt that many of us thought the song was gonna stay that way; SHINee were just building the atmosphere (read - creating the perfect environment to torch our weaves). Evil has an almost musical theater vibe to it, except not nearly as cheesy. Evil is honestly a one of a kind experience that we all need in our lives at some point.

Especially because SHINee were on their harmonic A game the day they recorded Evil. When the drums drop out and it's just the orchestral stabs with their voices?!?!? Fuckin' magic, ladies.

Like A Fire (Misconceptions of Me ~Why So Serious~)

We all Know™ Like A Fire, because of that one performance where Jonghyun, Kibum, and Jinki were having a contest to see whom tf could be the most extra (to be honest, I'd say Kibum won, based purely on the fact that I didn't even know he could wail like that). But Like A Fire stands firm on her own by being a wickedly good Funk song.

(Sidenote - I'm about 90% this list has more Funk tracks than my '90s 5HINee FSL, and I want you all know that that was not on purpose. I wont be changing it, but I swear it wasn't done purposefully!!)

Like A Fire, like Punch Drunk Love, is SHINee on autopilot. I don't know what else to say about this song. It's just so Classic SHINee™, sis!! The verses have a more somber, minor tone to them, but the choruses transition (maybe that's a modulation, I'm not Musically Advanced™ enough to make that call) into a killer major groove that is just so beautiful to listen to. I don't know anyone who doesn't like this song. Liking Like A Fire is a requirement for being a Shawol (especially a Shawol of color). If you don't like Like A Fire, you're invalid.

I need to say something about these harmonies and ad libs, tho. Did the producer of Like A Fire tell the SHINee Boys™ to go HAM the day they were laying down tracks for Like A Fire?!?!?! Did they mean for the harmonies and ad libs to get this over the top!?!?! I'm not complaining, I just wanna know. Because the harmonies and ad libs, especially, are so ridiculous!! I love every second of it, but sometimes it K I L L S how extra this song is!!

Diamond Sky (FIVE)

The first time I ever listened to this song, I cackled like a banshee at how extra that intro was, because it's so SHINee. It's so dramatic, and it suits SHINee to a T. I was expecting the verses to be some Final Dragon type shit, or somethin'!!!

Diamond Sky is pretty standard fare for a J-Pop song, imo. It doesn't stop me from loving SHINee's take on it (and it shouldn't stop you), but it's worth mentioning; SHINee + J-Pop = Love. Like I mentioned above, I'm glad that SHINee were able to continue releasing music in Japan, because this is a style of music that suits them well, but would not do well in Korea at all.

Diamond Sky feels like the theme song for a magical girl anime. The twinkly pianos, complemented by the strings and electric guitar give it an air of grandiosity that would have made it a perfect theme or insert song for Sailor Moon. If they had added a modulation at the end for Maximum Drama™, I'd have lost my shit.

Close the Door (Everybody)

Firstly, if you haven't watched the SHINee World IV performance where Jinki tap dances to Close the Door, I'm judging you. Our sweet dubu leader did not bless us with such beauty and grace for you to ignore it!!

Secondly, Close the Door is the cheesiest love song I've ever encountered in K-Pop. It's got the romantic sounding keys, the strings, it's in 6/8 time (perfect for a waltz, babies), the lyrics are so sugary sweet, and the chord progressions utilize mostly major chords. And you know what, I absolutely fucking love it. I'm a cheesy Romantic Gay™, and I fucking love this cheesy ass love song. It's just so aurally pleasing, especially since these SHINee boys all have voices that blend together amazingly when they harmonize. Sue me.

Sleepless Night (Misconceptions of Me ~Why So Serious~)

SHINee ballads are a wonderful, amazing thing, you know?!?!? Especially when they don't give us the typical classical ballad, but go a little left field into something jazzy or RnB. Which is what they do with Sleepless Night.

This week's playlist features a lot of songs that are extremely over the top, sis. And I mean, we've discussed this; these SHINee boys love the drama of it all. But they also love lowkey songs like Sleepless Night. You'd be able to tell if they didn't with a song this stripped back and bare. Sleepless Night is literally the SHINee boys (and their amazing harmonies), a piano, and some strings. And it's fucking amazing. There are quite a few songs from SHINee that I want to experience live, but I think Sleepless Night tops the list. Well, that and Wish Upon A Star, but I'm sure I'd cry my fucking eyes out listening to that. I mean, I might cry my eyes out to Sleepless Night, but there's less of a chance there.

I've accepted that I'm a boring bitch who lives for a good ballad (the amount of ballads I've had to listen to for my RRUs has definitely proven this), but there's nothing quite like a good SHINee ballad, sis. There ain't never been a SHINee ballad that I didn't like.

Jikook Osaka Analysis

So a while back, someone messaged me, asking me to analyse the osaka vlive, at first I wasn't sure whether I wanted to or not since I have so much planned but then my taekook post was taking too long so I figured i'd just get this out of the way. Everyone is aware of the infamous Osaka Vlive there has been so much analysis about it which I have read but I have to disagree. I don't think Jimin was in that hotel room with jungkook. Ofcourse u're free to believe what you want but lets be realistic for a second.

So the vlive starts with taehyung in his hotel room and he decides to go to another member's room, at this point many people think he messaged jungkook and he probably did but we all know jungkook has a habit of ignoring any sort of texts or calls, the person who replies to taehyung is actually another member, most likely jin with jungkook's room number. So for the people saying jungkook knew tae was coming yet still asked "who is it", well that theory is debunked. Once tae is outside the room he knocks and calls "jungkookah, now here alot of people say they heard "jimin" but actually that's not the case, jungkook says "who is it" twice and tae replies with "i'm on v app" to which jk makes an exasperated sound like someone would say "tsck" which can easily be confused with "chim". If u don't believe me ask any k-armys who aren't jikook shippers they'll say the same infact in Korea it’s common for us to use such an expression to relay our feelings. Or he could literally be trying to say something but cuts himself off. Wouldn't you be annoyed if u finally unravelled in your personal space after a hectic day and then were expected to talk to thousands of fans in a dishevelled appearance? 

Now the next prominent thing people were asking was why jungkook was listening to such a song, naked without any lights on. First of all the lights weren't close, he had the lamp on and frankly at night you don't need all the lights on, secondly i don't know about u but i tend not to wear many clothes at night when i’m alone on my own, he most likely wasn’t totally naked, probably wearing shorts which is why we don't see his crotch imprint through his gown, majority of people tend not to wear many clothes at night hence why he took long opening the door. Also who doesn't listen to music on their own, he probably had a playlist playing sexy, fun, pop songs etc. No "he wasn't eating bread naked in his room". In my opinion and I could be wrong I believe (since I've done so myself many times) he was alone on his bed, probably shirtless, on his phone whilst listening to music just like anyone else would and having the occasional snack on the trolley in his room which every hotel provides (fun fact on the trolley there was a lot of food but plate and cup for one person) which if u actually try to be unbiased makes perfect sense. About why he still had makeup on, just think about how many times u left ur makeup on? he probably would've washed it off right before going to bed. He himself says to tae he hadn't washed up yet so most likely he was planning to laze about in bed Probably browsing online whilst eating+listening to music and then wash up+sleep. Makes more sense than their grand plan to hide jimin in the toilet.

Now to debunk a few quick "proofs" that white phone is jungkook's he puts it on the table after putting a song on bluetooth, it's well known jungkook has a black and white phone, also in the vlive the next day u can see jimin's phone is longer if u compare the screen sizes. Now for the shoes, the hotel room has it's own pair of small fluffy black sandals that we see by the bed, we also see jungkook's own shoes, now the black pumps near the suitcase are actually tae's pause at 7:07 and u can actually see tae is wearing them. and for the people saying the jacket on the chair in jimins...... i mean come on people it's just a black pile how on earth do u have any way of knowing its jimins? You can’t see any detail on it, u can’t see the size so how can u determine it's jms?

Moving on at 7:59 we apparently hear a door nob turning and shippers thought it was jimin who was supposedly hiding in the bathroom... actually the desk on the left side of the bed actually has a door like drawer and jungkook actually simply opened that making that sound. Also whilst there he presses some sort of master button that turns the light in the bathroom on, I know this because when jungkook is kneeling near the desk at 7:57, there's a click and he makes the "oh" sound in the next instance u can see the ceiling light near the curtain have also turned on and the whole room appears visibly brighter. He by mistake turned all the lights on, just pause at 7:58 u can clearly see all the ceiling lights turned on which weren’t before.

For the next part i have 2 theories First one: so whilst jk is still fiddling around with something on the desk tae lies down on the bed and when jungkook turns around he expects to see tae sititng on the edge on the bed but he's lying down so his immediate reaction is "oh u scared me". no seriously think about it, how many times have u gotten surprised by someone being in a different position than u imagine, he was looking at tae upside down from where he was standing it's very likely that's why he got shocked rather than jimin coming out of the bathroom. lets say it was jimin, why did tae not react? or even look in his direction? why would jungkook react so loudly if he knew jimin was there and was trying to hide him? My second theory is simply that some one-could be manager, another member or even hotel staff came in to maybe ask about something or inquire if they needed anything which startled jungkook since when tae cam in he didn't lock the door. like let's say jimin was hiding in the bathroom, why wouldn’t tae quickly go back making some sort of excuse? Yes u can fantasize saying tae was "teasing" them and what not but do u have any idea how reckless that would be? What if they'd been caught? they couldn't afford any such mistakes at that time and to imply that tae would be so careless or that jungkook wouldn't warn the hyungs before hand is frankly very silly. Futhermore if they were together then when tae comes he could simply say him and jimin were hanging out , who would doubt that? he didn;t need to hide him, he didn't need to say "im not wearing any clothes", it doesn't add up. Also if jm was hiding in the toilet we would definitely hear some sort of sound, their were bounts of quietness many times during the Iive and if there was another living being in the room we WOULD hear SOMETHING. Also “oh u said scared me” frankly sounds like jk, it's more high-pitched than that one time jimin says it, u're entitled to think it's jimin but that's highly unlikely

9:10 apparently alot of ppl saw the door on the right closing but clearly it's just the camera angles since the light refelctions don't change one bit u see it's still half open when tae's going back. About jk singing dear no one at someone near the bed and tae pointing there, honestly just watch the live again, jk looks in many directions, we know him as a shy boy, obviously when singing to thousands of fans in english he's gonna be a bit shy, even when he's talking in interviews he tends to look around and fix his attention on one spot. If there was someone there then we would've seen them when tae is going back, others say he was looking at jm who was hdiding in the toilet rather than near the bed, again that makes no sense. Also tae was pointing and moving his hand throughout the song, he wasn’t “pointing at jimin”.

Whilst they’re singing there's another click? that's actually tae's foot hitting the locks on the suitcase. I know this all sounds too convenient but so does the analysis about jimin being in the room, infact that's more unlikely than this. and tbh I've experienced these things myself so I’m able to think logically about what could cause these sounds and how these reactions can be explained. Also pay attention to the bed at 7:46 only the left side bears signs of messiness, the pillows slightly less fluffy and the cushion a bit downturned and the duvet has ripples in it, im sure if both jm and jk were doing the nasty they would need more than half of the bed. Yes jk  tried to clean it before tae came in but the right side looks immaculate, doesn't bear the signs of being hastily cleaned like the left side.

When tae mentions jm at 13:44 jk gives no reaction at all now think about it if he was hididng jm and was scared about them being found out would he be so nonchalant? No not at all he would at least jerk at the mention and not be so placid. the "are u going to jms now" is so nonchalant its just not realistic for him to act like that if he jm was in the room and tae wouldn't say he’s going there to tease him, if that’s code for something then "jin is taking a bath right now" must be code for something too, jk must be hiding jin in his room wow. Moving on analysing the timeframe of tae leaving the room vs jk closing the door is so silly, tae is going at a snails pace and he’s talking to  jk, he even stops in between at 13:52, also he has to open the door which takes another 2 seconds  so it's no surprise really that he left the room in 15 seconds and jk closed the door in 6 seconds. 

Then tae goes to his own room. yes he said he was gonna go to jms but he either changed his mind(like we all do) or wanted to get something from his room before going there (the possibilities are endless). Outside his room tae makes that face since he forgot his room card/keys inside so now he's locked out and that sound u hear at 14:13 is NOT jimin or jungkook. tae's room is pretty far from jungkook's room there's no way we could hear it, there’s alot of people talking in the hallway also it doesn't even sound like them. We don't even hear his room door opening again so how could they have come out to "scold" tae. The slight door opening sound u hear at 14:11 can be anyone's room there were so many people whispering in the corridor it's not unlikely that it was another guest's room. Then he closes his live to try to find another way to get into his room but before that why on earth would jm and jk come out to confront tae knowing he's still live if they went through all that trouble to hide? it's just not realistic.

The next day apparently jimin was "petty" towards tae and jk had scolded tae too, if u watch tht vlive they both tell u why, I mean sure u can play connect the dots but that won't make it true, correlation is not causation

And for the peope saying jk was annoyed at tae for barging into his room, excuse me but he was tired, it was late, they probably has a long day and he wanted his own space, he was in no way annoyed “at tae”, more at the situation. Also lets not act like he wasn't this annoyed or even more at jimin when he crashed his interview just saying. even if u love some one and are dating them (not saying taekook are) you still need ur personal space and there are times u want to be left alone, and since Jung kook is an introvert that is even more likely.

A = Announcement.- How do you tell him and the world that you’re expecting?

You had been feeling a bit under the weather lately and N would be concerned and make you take time off of work to get rest. When you started vomiting every morning his worries over came him and he took you to a doctor. That was where you found out you and him were 2 months pregnant! He'd be in shock but he's still very proud. He'd keep things simple and tell Starlights over social media or through an interview, but for people close to him and you he'd prefer to tell them in person.

B = Books.- Did he read the books?

Since N is pretty good at taking care of VIXX and of his many nieces and nephews he probably wouldn't need the books.

C = Cuddles.- Who cuddles the baby more?

N would hog the baby 24/7. Even when he's at work and you visited to drop something off he'd kiss your cheek and the baby is in his arms??? Even if it's for a minute he'd be happy.

D = Daddy.- His reaction to being called Daddy and it setting in.

When he told the fans about you and him becoming parents he was afraid they'd be upset you didn't tell them at the beginning even though you guys found out later on as well, but when he got good reactions and encouragement he would feel relieved and would make every VIXX TV somehow related to the baby that was soon to come.

E = Empty.- Who goes to the store when you guys run out of supplies?

Both you and him are busy so most likely neither of you would have the time to go to the store so N would probably make Leo do it, since he is the Vixx Uncle who is the most soft for the baby. Like if Leo was originally going to say no N would guilt him into doing it because the baby needs his Uncle Leo.

F = Feeding time- Who does feeding time?

N would encourage hard foods too early and give hot milk to the baby by mistake so you'd probably have to do it most of the time.

G = Grumpy baby. - Who is better at dealing with a grumpy baby?

N can't seem to get a break because after all day being teased by his band members his grumpy baby only gets worse when he tries making faces and silly noises. When you come in with the baby's favorite toy and blanket they stop crying and are back to normal. N isn't salty at all.

H = How?- how many kids does he want?

He comes from a big family with not only his older siblings but their children as well so N would want quite a few of his own as well. To my knowledge most of his siblings have sat least 2 children so N would want four or five to have a full house. But he'd want to wait a few years in between so that the older kids can help out with the younger ones.

Jokes.- best dad joke?

"I would tell a joke about Pizza but it's a bit cheesy."

K = Kisses.- His favorite place to kiss the baby.

He's really affectionate and while N would be the one to not have one spot that he kisses he'd probably kiss the baby's face more because it's always out there and not covered by anything.

L = Little.- How he feels when he holds the baby for the first time.

N would literally be bouncing in his spot from enthusiasm. After months and months of waiting the baby was finally here! You'd be in the hospital bed still and N would be roaming around the room flying the baby like an airplane.

"Honey slow down! They were just born!"

"But we're having fun!"

M = Mommy.- what does he call you?

When in the presence or the baby he and you will some how start talking in the third person but when there are the few moments you two have together he'll be cringy and call you "sweetheart" or something.

N = Nappies.- who deals with the really bad diapers?

He'd have the most experience with babies and if you're the one doing feeding time he's doing diapers.

O = Onesies- Who likes to dress the baby in ridiculous outfits?

N has a pretty keen sense of style but when he tries to put your son or daughter in a jean jacket during the summer time you'll have to draw the line.

P = Pet names- names he calls the baby.

He'd probably call them their name tbh. It will be the VIXX members who are the ones that have their own unique nicknames for their leader's kid.

Q = Questions.- How many questions does he ask the nurse?

He wouldn't need to ask any really. If there's something that pops into his head that goes off of what the nurse said then he'll ask but honestly he kind of knew the answer but just wanted to be sure.

R = Rely- what is the biggest thing you rely on each other for?

You guys share the hardships of parenthood and all of the tasks that go along with it but every so often you both need a break. You'd two rely on each other to take care of the baby when you take a "mental health day" because those do exist @schoolsandparents

S = Sleep duty. - who gets up when it’s really late at night?

N is super caring and would put your health before his own any day so he'll do most of the night time feedings and diaper checks. You'll have to make him lay back down when he's already gotten up about five or six times.

T = Trepidation.- fears as a new parent.

He'd be scared he wouldn't be able to handle being both an idol and a father. As much as he wants to be involved he knows that one day he'll have a big concert on the same day as an event your child is participating in. He just doesn't want to miss anything his child does especially if it's something they worked hard on.

U = Ultra sounds.- His reactions to the ultrasounds.

You guys got an ultrasound at three months into the pregnancy and since you found out about the baby at two months it would be so quick to N, like is this how it'll be at the next two ultrasounds? Will time just fly by so quickly neither of you can enjoy it? None the less he'll like going to these appointment for support and to check in on the baby but he'll probably put all of the pictures in a scrapbook so you two can enjoy it again in the future.

V = Values.- what is the most important value he wants to teach your child.

He'd want his child to know that they can't let people who will talk them down get in their way of doing great things. N's son or daughter may inherit his dark skin and shortish height (they are both gorgeous qualities about N fight me) but he wants their child to remember that whatever is on the inside is what is most important.

W = Water.- Who gives the babe the baths?

N would want the both of you to do it because play time can be brought into bath time. Also N would like the extra airs of eyes watching the baby when he turns his back to grab a towel.

X = X-mas- what do you guys plan for the holidays?

You know how Jellyfish Ent. does those Christmas videos? Yeah well aside from spending time with family N would want you, the baby, and him to do one of those photo shoot videos too. You get pictures done and a video for the fans, win-win!

Y = Yelling.- How many fights do the two of you get in?

Since N nags a lot i could see you guys getting into fights pretty often but they are never too serious. Literally five minutes after one of you storm off you act like nothing has even happened and the whole argument was forgotten.

Z = Zoo- How crazy is the house after the birth?

He is good at housekeeping so I can tell that the house is normally clean, at least the parts that guests would see like the living room, bathroom, and kitchen. But the other parts of the houses i.e bedrooms and closets are atrocious.

Quickie LONG UPDATE!! (on my life lol)

I FINALLY GOT THE RESULTS BACK FROM A $300 teachers’ test and I PASSED WOOOOOOOOOOT HAHAHA I’M SO HAPPY $300 NOT WASTED LOL *CRIES*

Well, at least for my state. Who knows if I’ll ever have to take that horrendous thing again should I ever choose to move to another state or get back into the teaching profession after having left for a bit... Granted, I didn’t get the score I think I was truly capable of (I totally last-minuted this whole thing and stayed up for 72+ hours finishing it lol PLEASE PLEASE DON’T EVER BE LIKE ME AND PUT YOURSELF IN A POSITION WHERE YOU HAVE TO STAY AWAKE FOR 3 DAYS STRAIGHT TO FINISH A FINAL THAT IS MY LIFE ADVICE), but I did pass it based on the score required by my state, so I honestly couldn’t be any happier. All that’s standing between me and getting a real job now is waiting for my university to finally award me my degree in a few weeks so that I can apply for a teacher’s certificate and finally get to do what I can’t wait to start doing again – teaching!! 🌠 💖 😄

In other news, I actually survived! and completed!! my student teaching; it all actually officially ended in the middle of last month. After my student teaching ended, I focused on finishing up final tests/projects (including that $300 test) before graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English Education from my uni about 2 weeks ago. Since then, I’ve been applying for jobs and hoping for an offer soon, hopefully at a high school!! Thinking back over my college experience, I wouldn’t say it’s been a really “crazy” four years (except for this year LOL. Man, these past two semesters were WILD and took SO MUCH out of me. I still get super-exhausted thinking about how I got through my student teaching N E V E R  A G A I N HAHA :V). I’ve never been the group’s social butterfly, even though I highly crave social interaction and approval/feedback (not in a desperate sense, but I know I’m the type of person that needs social interaction in order to thrive, even if I might not be the one to initiate it). I have, however, learned a little about a lot of things, especially during this past year and semester LOL AGAIN: N E V E R  A G A I N HAHA :VVV and especially, I think, in regard to myself. As a teacher, I’ve learned that I suck at classroom management. I’m just way too laissez faire, which comes off as “too nice” and therefore just allows any group of your regular hormonal and rebellious-leaning teenagers to go bonkers and take over my class lawl. Hopefully that changes *very* soon once I get my own classroom (and I’m working on it!!), but looking back, I suppose I could have been a bit more firm about keeping my presence (it also doesn’t help that I’m like 5′3″ lol!!). As a general person, I have also learned that I SUCK at making and keeping social discourse lol. Like, not just suck at it, but suckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk haha. First, not having a phone really makes it hard to make or keep in touch with any friends that a person intends to make. With a lack of a personal device or one of your basic social media accounts, I realized how hard it was to maintain a social network within a very digitally-connected world. Second, I realized that I’m probably a lot more cautious, super-conscious, introverted, and a bit inexperienced than I perhaps originally thought I was. Like, if I was in high school, I recognized that I would probably have been the super-quiet kid who would have had a lot of trouble making friends in class. I then realized that a lot of these previously mentioned personality quirks were probably a part of what was keeping me from fostering more intimate relationships or developing a more leader-driven personality, which sometimes heavily affected my classroom management. I’m not saying I necessarily need to change as a person, but I do believe I need to find ways in which I can become more involved and confident. Ironically, I thought it was interesting to note that a lot of my personality was – though not intentionally – perhaps keeping me from finding that deeper social interaction that I previously mentioned craving.

All that being said, I am fairly proud of how far I’ve come and how much I’ve accomplished this year as a student teacher, especially considering this was my first time taking over a class (3, actually!!) after having never really been inside a high school since I was homeschooled from 7th to 12th grade. I am, however, really proud of how I tried as much as I could to put the students with whom I was working with first, including incorporating their interests and academic needs/desires. I know my experience as a student teacher was not perfect, but I am very glad I got to work through all the challenges that came with and almost die doing it. I’ve also definitely found a bit of who I want to be as a future teacher. I know I want to be someone who is able to successfully make the classroom a place where my students can experience relevant life issues through writing or reading, and if nothing else, that had made this entire experience totally worth it.

... Which brings me to the future of this blog haha. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be as active on Tumblr as I was before :c For one thing, I realized over the course of this year that Tumblr was definitely taking up way too much of my life lol (literally took me hours to get through 24+ hours’ worth of posts, and I was only following like 300 blogs). Being a bit OCD, I don’t like breaking my Tumblr cycle and only shuffling through a random number posts, despite the fact that I can’t be up 24/7 lol; I just don’t like not getting the full picture on everything and acting on/reblogging things without all of the complete info. As a result, I would rather not break my 24/7+ Tumblr cycle than to start it again at all :c Secondly, I’m kind of sad to say that, as of recently, I haven’t been keeping up with K-pop as much as I used to. It’s not that I’ve necessarily lost interest in it (K-pop is still like 85% of what I listen to lol), but I certainly haven’t been keeping up with it as closely as I used to. For instance, I have no idea what’s going on with B1A4 right now, haven’t watched BTS’s new self-made MV for “Spine Breaker,” and haven’t gotten around to watching the last teaser for SEVENTEEN’s upcoming ALONE?? comeback (featuring our wonderful leader S.Coups :p). It’s not that I’ve completely dropped everything K-pop or have become totally disinterested; I still very much keep up with the latest comebacks and listen to whatever piques my interest. It’s just that I don’t know if I want to get so re-invested with all of the details surrounding K-pop again (tbh Tumblr gave me so much info on my favorite K-pop groups; I seriously regret missing all of the amazing shots of my biases’ beautiful faces that I’ve probably missed leol), or maybe I just need a good break from it all before starting again. Most likely, I’d say my small distance from my favorite pastime has mostly happened because I now have more things to do or think about atm haha, and just don’t really have any time right now to enjoy all of the K-dynamics that are happening behind the music. I don’t think I’ll ever give up listening to K-pop anytime soon though; like I’ve said before, I’m still very much keeping up with and enjoying whatever’s coming out right now.

Sooooo at this point, I’m not sure if I want to say I’m on a complete permanent indefinite hiatus yet. I still check Tumblr and my blog everyday – every now and then my dash – so it’s not like I feel like I’ve completely left Tumblr and the K-pop community on here as a whole... just yet :3 I have, however, thought about starting a side-blog that focuses solely on teaching, including my student teaching experience. I’ve also thought about writing some K-pop articles for this blog again... (I still really want to write that “Best K-pop Songs of 2016,” a review of B1A4′s third full LP, and/or similar pieces). Whether either of those musings will come into fruition over this passing summer, I don’t know yet, but I’ll keep you updated on either if I ever do, especially my educationally-focused blog. Aside from those thoughts, I’ve been planning on doing some extensive reading over the summer – with a goal to read a book a week! If any of you are interested and would like to check out what I’m currently reading and/or think about it, you can take a look at my Goodreads account here. Other than that, I’ve just been up to the usual: still practicing driving (hopefully I’ll get my license this summer!!), looking for a job, and chilling by watching some TV/movies :p (literally, when you become a teacher, EVERYTHING YOU WATCH BECOMES A POSSIBLE TEACHING TOOL WHERE YOU WONDER IF/HOW YOU COULD USE IT IN A CLASS HAHA. I’VE BEEN SPENDING MY BREAK WATCHING THE HARRY POTTER MOVIES AND I NOW PAY MORE ATTENTION TO HOW THE TEACHERS REACT TO ALL OF THE KIDS’ SHENANIGANS VS. HOW I WOULD PAY MORE ATTENTION TO THE MAIN CHARACTERS AS A KID LOL. I’d really love to be a Professor McGonagall or Snape someday :p). So as far as the current activity of this blog goes, I think I’m going to keep it at “temporary-hiatus-because-I’m-currently-in-a-heavy-transition-period-and-still-am-very-unsure-of-how-this-will-all-pan-out??” That sounds like it’ll do for now. I definitely don’t think I want to distance myself from Tumblr just yet, but at the same time, I don’t believe I’ll be able to be as involved with everything on it as I once was :ccc

Snap that was really A LOT more than just a “quickie” update haha. I know that I probably should have updated on everything that’s been happening in my life much sooner, but honestly, I didn’t feel like anything merited me getting too excited about getting through this school year unless I had 100% confirmation that I had passed the $300 test lol (it’s called the edTPA btw, for anyone who might be curious :p). Without passing that test, I probably would have had to spend at least another $100 to re-take some parts of the test, which would have delayed my being able to apply for an eligible teacher’s certificate in my state, which would have dangerously hindered me from being able to teach at all. So thanks for your patience – both for reading this post and sticking around this blog long enough to see me write it :p Hopefully I’ll get a teaching position and figure this all out soon; until then, I’ll definitely keep y’all posted~!! ✨
