I'll be honest w y'all i do not intend on catching up w yj any time soon
#i think the finale aired? i saw a tweet ab the finale#but i just. do not care i must admit#i was so excited ab this season this show was a comfort show but the aspects of the fandom ive seen lately just. not good don't vibe#i think a Lot of the s1 and waiting experience for me was fandom based so this show is very fandom oriented for me#and knowing that everyone ive seen talk ab the show on twitter is violently hating the main character that draws me to the show is. mhm#like dont get me wrong i like the girls too!! theyre all mostly pretty likable for me its just.#im at a. specific point in my transition rn where im more drawn to male characters just bc of like. where im at idk#i dont feel like i have to explain it tbh but i also do bc i have seen fans of this show get attacked for far less#but going into s2 ben was my#my main interest i guess the main focus for me and maybe that's stupid but its what it is#and so everything just being the entire fandom hating him is just. not making me wanna watch at all#like im not gonna speak on if they're justified in hating him or not bc i have no idea i havent seen it and its truly not the point#like theyre valid for hating him and im not tryna talk shit on them for it it just kinda has been so loud that im not having fun anymore#idk. idk where this is going or what the solution is like i love this show but genuinely#can not bring myself to watch bc i will not enjoy the moments my favorite character is on screen bc i will Know people r loudly anti him#so im just kinda staying away i guess#idk. i kinda want them to. kill him off so i dont have to deal w it anymore#but i also know that when they kill him off people will be loudly celebrating and maybe thats worse#idk. i think the only way for me to win here is to change how i feel ab ben and not care ab him and join the hate train but i don't want to

What would make up sex with Ethan be like ? xx💘
it’s passionate and hard and downright desperate.
it’s been about a week since you two got into a petty argument over a snide remark that was blown out of proportion. it was (again) caused by ethan stuffing down his feelings into a tight little bubble and waiting for just the right moment to where it couldn’t hold any air - popping right in your face.
he never yells at you. ever. but for some reason everything was getting on his nerves that day. everything was too much and too little all at once and he just blew up.
it was one of those days where the fans were suspecting ethan was in a relationship, tweets, instagram posts, articles, everything was flying around and it made his head dizzy. you had mentioned once that maybe it was a good idea for you two to just come clean to the fans. they knew you were friends and they loved you, why wouldn’t they love you if you were dating too?
“no. end of discussion.” he wouldn’t even listen to a word you had to say. “we aren’t “coming clean”.”
he’s slamming cabinets and stomping through the house like a four year old. you had just suggested that maybe it would make him less stressed if there weren’t so many speculations and just hard facts.
“e there’s no reason to be upset all i’m saying is that maybe there wouldn’t be so many tweets and posts and articles about what “might” be happening if people just knew the truth? are you ashamed of me or something?” you were just confused now. you really never questions why he would always act different when the camera was on. you never questioned why he wouldn’t answer questions about you two. but standing here, you were starting to become self conscious.
“do you want to date me or millions? because they will NEVER stay out of our business if we tell me don’t you get that? or does it just go through one ear and out the other?” his tone is harsh and annoyed, he won’t even look at you. he’s too afraid of the expression he might see.
“they don’t stay out of our business anyway...so what the fuck is the difference?” you deadpan. you’re pissed.
he whips around at your language, knowing you never curse and he’s probably overstepped a line. but you don’t even give him a chance to talk before you’re speaking once more.
“yeknow what, if you’re just going to be an ass about a simple comment, then forget i said anything. i didn’t realize it was that bad to be in a relationship with me that you can’t even tell your fans about the woman you say you love.” you didn’t want to sound like a brat, but he was really hurting your feelings.
“y/n it’s not even like that-“ he’s trying to redeem himself.
“it’s exactly like that ethan. talk to me when you’re done being a dick.”
that was a week ago, and you’ve ignored every phone call and text ethan has sent to you. you didn’t want to let him think you were fine, and you can’t ever stay mad when he calls you because his voice instantly calms your nerves.
it’s been a week of the silent treatment and he’s just about lost all sense of reality. every night he lies awake and thinks about the fucked up words he said, about the way he completely disregarded your feelings, about how dismissive he was. he was a prick. you’re surprised he hasn’t come by your apartment yet, he’s just building up the courage.
grayson has been the only one you’ve kept in contact with the whole week, texting him every now and then to see if he was okay and if he’d talked to ethan. he had. and he told her everything. but what he didn’t tell her was that ethan would be showing up at her door with a box of sour patch kids, teary eyes, and your favorite hoodie of his that you always sleep in. you share it and it means a lot to you. he thought maybe it would make you feel better and put a smile on your face.
when he knocks on your door, it’s silent.
“y/n...open up it’s me,” he mumbles sheepishly.
“yeah and?” your sassy tone makes him smile, even if you are mad at him, the sound of your voice pulls at his heart strings.
“baby please c’mon you know i didn’t-“
the door swings open before he finishes to reveal his rough looking girlfriend. it had been a long week and you were still pissed. but you missed him. although you wouldn’t let him know that yet. you might have overreacted a bit, but you wouldn’t admit to it.
“you’re a real fuckface yeknow that?” is the only thing you say, shooting him sad eyes. he hurt your feelings bad and looking through twitter and having fans question why you haven’t been in their snaps recently had you overthinking even more.
“i-i know bubs i’m sorry...i really didn’t mean it that way. i was just frustrated. it’s just...they can really twist things and you are one thing i don’t want them to mess with,” he explains with pleading hazel eyes. please forgive me please forgive me please forgive me.
you seem to soften at that, slacking your shoulders and dropping your hand from the doorframe, making room for him to come in and set your presents on the island in the middle of your kitchen. you notice the hoodie and grin - the beautiful smile he missed so much gracing your lips. he looked so shy standing there with mushy eyes.
“are you trying to bribe me e?” you giggle, crossing your arms and facing him. he’s much closer now, slowly inching toward you. he’s missed those lips so much, missed your touch, missed you.
“maybe...” his sly remark gets an eye roll. he’s staring you down.
“well it’s not gonna be that-“ he seals his lips to yours in a feather of a kiss, his lips just resting on yours, moving slowly, “easy.”
“mhmm,” he hums, smirking and kissing you again - this time much harder. your hands come up to clutch his shirt, twisting it in your hand and pulling him closer to your front.
“i’m still mad,” you gasp against his plump reddened lips, back hitting the edge of the counter before he hoists you up by your waist, his hands coming to toy with your nipples through the oversized t-shirt you wore.
“i know...i deserve it,” he’s absentmindedly kissing down your neck now, hands traveling under your shirt and now resting on your bare breasts.
“you really do- fucking hell,” you’re wiggling on the counter at this point, forgetting why you’re mad when ethan starts to speed up his movements. clothes are being tossed off one article at a time, shedding the clothing and just taking each other in.
one thing leads to another and soon he is pounding into you on the counter, whining and whimpering out how much he loves you and how beautiful you are, drinking in the sight of your body and trying to make it up to you with every thrust of his hips.
you’re looking in his eyes that gleam back at you, whispering that you love him too and he’s forgiven if he just keeps hitting that spot in you that has you writhing and squirming against the marble. his dark hair is bouncing and a light sheen of sweat covers his now bare body, gloriously shimmering in the light of the kitchen.
“fuck ethan keep going,” you’re helping him along by fucking yourself against him, skin slapping loudly throughout the house, the air almost too thick to breathe.
you both are falling over the edge in no time, your walls are quivering around his cock while he cradles your face in his hands - forehead pressed to yours, eyes closed, mouth open, he finally shoots his load deep inside your pussy, humming and grunting as he finishes and comes down from the overwhelming high.
he hadn’t even had the urge to jerk off when he wasn’t with you, so it feels like it’s been forever since he’s cum, even if it’s only been a week. he was ethan of course, mister lotion and Kleenex by his bed at all times. he just didn’t feel right about it when the last time he saw your face you looked shattered.
“i didn’t mean it baby,” he whispers, eyes still closed, forhead still pressed to yours, cum dripping out of your pussy and around his cock.
“it’s okay,” you’re too tired and too gone to be mad, you just missed him so much. you know he’s in a difficult spot. you know he can’t be as free as he wants and you know it bothers him. you just wish that when it came to your relationship you didn’t have to be restricted.
“give me some time and i’ll...tell them in the right way okay? i promise i’m not ashamed of you i fucking love you so much and i’m sorry,” his voice his thick with tears? is he gonna cry?
“shhh bubba you do what you think is right...i should have been more understanding,” your hand runs lightly up and down his front, rubbing his cheek, his lips, his abs, his arms, everywhere you can touch so he feels the most comfort and believes your words fully. because you really mean it.
you two go at it many more times during the night, losing count and coming to a mutual understanding that you love each other and it wasn’t going to be a secret forever. he would never keep you a secret forever. he was going to tell the fans when and how he wanted, to show you off in the right way. and you appreciated that more than anything.

sunrise
word count: 1380
genre: magic au, fluff
pairing: gender neutral forest nymph!reader x water nymph!chan
summary: you always watch the sunrise with your bff chan but today you accidentally slept in
song rec: sunrise - got7 (jb) (haha wow i really tried hard with this one huh but the lyrics and everything work perfectly so!!)
a/n: okay i finallY wrote this after a billion years and i’ve decided i’m in love with chan anyways hope y’all enjoy!!
~
“wake up, sleepyhead,” chan’s voice fills your ear, and you pry open an eye to see his face hovering in front of yours. you jump in shock, suddenly wide awake, and chan sits up with a laugh. you shoot him a glare and rub the sleep from your eyes, then brush the morning dew from your shoulders. the early sun is just peeking over the horizon, golden rays of light streaming through the forest, and the sky is wearing faded pinks and blues and oranges, the subtle colours all melting into each other in the way that you love.
“i wanted to sleep more,” you grumble, but you aren’t really upset. you sit up from your little den in the bushes, and chan sticks out an arm to help you up.
“well, good morning to you too,” he says sarcastically. he grunts a little with the effort of pulling you up before continuing.
“we’re late to watch the sunrise; i’m surprised the birds didn’t wake you,” chan says, nudging you as the two of you walk barefoot over the soft layer of dirt and pine needles covering the forest floor.
“they’re my friends, they let me sleep in. sometimes.” you say with a smile. now that you’re awake, the birds of the forest have begun singing their melodies, choruses of chirps and tweets bringing life to the forest as they greet you good morning. you pause when you spy the tiny bright green tip of a plant trying to poke its way up from the soil, larger, leafier plants blocking it from the sunlight it’s desperately trying to reach. you crouch down and help it grow, feeling satisfied as you watch the plant wind it’s way up from the ground. it’s new leaves unfurl to catch the rays of sun, and you feel the plant’s relief. you reach back to lightly tap at chan’s leg, asking for his help. he gets the message and you smile when you see the dirt around the bottom of the plant grow dark with dampness.
“it says thanks for the drink,” you say as you stand back up, brushing off the dirt from your palms.
“i don’t know how you do it,” chan says, smiling and shaking his head at you as you continue walking towards the river.
“well i mean it’s not that hard, chan, growing little plants like that is nothing! you should see what it takes to—“
“no, not growing the plant; you take such good care of the forest, y/n. how you even noticed that little plant beneath all the undergrowth is beyond me. without you, this forest wouldn’t even be half as beautiful as it is right now,” he says, almost mumbling that last part. you blush at his words, suddenly taking interest in a toad sitting in a small patch of sunlight. “ooh, bet you think he’s the most beautiful thing in this forest; i saw you eyeing him when y’all were swimming yesterday, i KNOW you were staring at his abs,” its croaky voice mocks you, and you scowl at it (probably because it’s right), prompting chan to laugh at your suddenly sour face.
“what’s that face for!!” he asks, squishing your cheeks. you swat his hands away.
“nothing important, the toad just made a stupid comment.”
“what did it say??”
“it’s a secret,” you say, sticking your tongue out at him. he pouts at you in return.
“oh come on, that’s no fair; i always tell you what the fish say!! like yesterday, the minnows would NOT shut up about about how good your hair looked,” he protests. your cheeks burn even more red; it’s not like compliments from chan never happened, but recently he’d been making more and more little comments that made the butterflies in your stomach go wild. you try to ignore it, pretending like your best friend’s comments just fly over your head. in reality, they most certainly do not, but you are definitely not ready to risk confessing to chan (which you sometimes are very close to doing, like yesterday when you were sitting beside him on the riverbank dipping your toes in the water and the way the sun caught his hair made it look like spun gold and his eyes sparkled like the water of the creek and his lips looked soft flower petals and you just wanted to KISS him) because you don’t think you could handle it if he were to reject you, his flirting merely just him being kind; no, best not to risk it and to just settle for best friends with chan for now.
“oh look, we’re at your pond already,” you say, trying to change the topic, and chan responds with an annoyed huff. you go to step out onto the surface of the water, then pause. “don’t let me get drenched this time,” you warn. yesterday, chan had gotten distracted by a butterfly that had landed in your hair and forgot to focus on helping you walk across the water, so you were unpleasantly submerged in the cold water of his pond.
“oh yeah, sorry about that,” he says, but he doesn’t sound sorry. you cautiously place your foot on the water, letting out a sigh of relief when you stay upright. the cool liquid moulds to the shape of your foot, supporting your weight as you skip across the pond towards the waterfall. you reach the other side and begin to nimbly clamber up the rocks to the top. chan follows suit, and you sit together on the big flat rock at the top. the sun is fully in the sky now, and you let its rays hit your faces—up here, higher above the trees, it’s much brighter than in the thickly canopied forest below.
“yeah, we definitely missed the sunrise,” chan comments, sounding mildly disappointed.
“it’s okay, we see get to see it pretty much every day, i’m sure missing it once doesn’t hurt,” you say. you feel a little bad, but it shouldn’t really be a big deal. “besides, it didn’t look like it was going to be anything extraordinary,” you say to try and make chan feel a bit better. he merely sighs at your words, gazing off towards the horizon and thinking in silence before turning to look at you.
“it’s always extraordinary,” he says, and you look at him in confusion. there’s a quiet pause while you sit there, your legs dangling off the rocky ledge, little droplets of mist from the waterfall speckling your skin (it’s not a big waterfall by any means, but it’s definitely large enough to still make your head spin a little from the height). chan tentatively reaches his hand up to cup your face, his thumb softly caressing your cheek.
“it’s always extraordinary because you’re always here with me,” he says, voice barely audible over the rushing water. your breath catches and your heart beats double time. chan’s eyes flicker down to your mouth then back to your eyes, hesitating, almost as if asking permission. in perhaps your bravest moment yet, you close the distance between you and you press your lips to his. they’re soft, just like you thought they’d be, and they remind you of how it feels when you run your fingers along the dainty petals of a newly grown wildflower. he tastes of the purest water imaginable, refreshing and cool, like when you step in the shallows of chan’s pond on a hot day and giggle as the minnows tickle your feet. chan moves his hand to the back of your head, and he deepens the kiss.
eventually the need for air prompts you to pull apart, breathless and grinning wide from ear to ear, both of you giggling softly.
“i’m sorry we missed the sunrise,” you say, although it feels silly now. chan let’s out a laugh, eyes wrinkling with his smile and dimples appearing on his cheeks.
“it’s okay, i think this was much better than a sunrise,” he says, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and placing a kiss on your forehead, and you can’t help but agree as the two of you sit there looking over the forest as if it’s your kingdom, a realm for you and chan to rule together for eternity.

Red&Toby: Thanks for gif!!! But can U get any stills of show? Camp women important but NO pics of Eddie, Abe, Simcoe Townsend. It's like CW are only plot on show = WRONG. As to Alex tweet think he meant fake intel scheme arc. Sneak peek shows new one E7 tho is a major spoiler. As to clarity: 140 characters often limits that AND sent during Live Tweet. We do that on previously aired Es and pace is insane, which means there's no time to proof. So shaky stuff happens.
Red&Toby: Inside 406 is about 2 months later. If you look at how they R filmed over 4Ss, the 1st 5 are filmed–each actor in same clothes & location–all at once. Then they do the 2nd 5 at the end of the S when each actor is in different clothes & location. Since BG was only in 405 in the 1st half, we only saw that outfit once. Also hair very short under pink hat much like in watch promo, but in 406 he’s rocking the Wanna Hold Your Hand vintage Cute Beatle style, which I grew up on & adore!!
Red&Toby: Grew up in the 60s so worship the ground J, P, G & R walked on, so BG can do no better in our book. Notice that it is much fuller than past few years? Has he had Freddy work some magic? Also in Navy, got so sick of all guys buzz cut the same w/no individuality. Thus if guys have the lettuce to grow salad, we love it when they go w/the flow. This is one fashion choice that we hope BG sticks w/ cuz it is our fave.
Red&Toby: Latest sneak peak scared the shite out of us at 1st, but then came that 2nd part. Our hearts overflowed with joy. Burn & Jamie were just so perfect. Eddie even seemed lot more at ease than night B4 [More on that later--percolating & will need to type out doc B4 asking. Will edit down as much as possible] BUT WE WERE LAUGHING at their apparent "fellow frat members studying for finals" approach to trying to figure out how to frag Simcoe. It's a masterpiece & both get straight A on exams.
THE LETTUCE TO GROW SALAD. THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE IDIOM.
Thanks for your knowledge of the Inside the Episode filming! I’ll try to get some stills of our faves from the recent episode up soon. And I, too, absolutely adore Burn’s fluffy hair. It could do with a brushing, maybe, but it’s so nice to see it full and soft and without product in it for once, rather than combed down! And yes, that sneak peek of 4.07 is SOOOO GOOOOOD

TD Details: They’re Everywhere!
Good morning! (It’s Friday! Yea!!!) This is one of those posts with lots of little tidbits people have sent me that aren’t big enough to warrant a theory all their own, but still definitely worth mentioning! Hope some of these give you the TD tingles (they did for me). ;D
@anthonycuc_ (IG) sent some info about the TWD Monopoly Game. In the game (and also the comic books) the hospital is called Harrison Memorial Hospital. That’s obviously different from the show. Even so, the name “Harrison” has a very interesting meaning. Urban Dictionary comes up with this as a character definition:
“A fighting Messiah whose capabilities and ultra-human strength exceed those of any being, human or non-human in nature.” (Think walker.) “Harrison’s true identity and age is unknown though he takes on the form of a teenage male with blond hair. He spends the majority of his time…winning at everything. After voluntarily offering himself for medical research, it is discovered that…he is capable of regenerating after attaining wounds.” (There’s more; I just included the relevant bits.)
We can’t know if this was what they were going for, especially as the name was changed for show. But that’s probably because they wanted to use the same hospital filmed behind Rick in 2x01 to connect things in the show. The point is, the description of “Harrison” sounds like it could have been a template for Beth’s arc. And, I would argue in some cases, Daryl’s. (The super-human powers and always winning bits.) Very interesting. Thanks @anthonycuc_
@nahel.mzg (IG) told me that in French, Jadis means “a long time ago.” So another interesting take on Jadis’s name that might be pointing us back to events in the show that happened long ago.
@julspad (IG) pointed out that in 7x10, Jadis staged a walker fight between the Winslow walker and Rick. It was reminiscent of the one at Woodbury: humans vs. walkers in an enclosed arena, plenty of bystanders, etc. And that’s interesting because it would mean ties to the Governor, Andrea, and Merle.
@missa_alyssa (IG) pointed out the strong resemblance between Dr. Edwards and the Dr. Carson Negan killed. Obviously they’re both doctors, both kinda bald with similar head shapes, coloring, hair, etc. And there are the lollipops, which I picked up on, but the physical similarities didn’t occur to me. Interesting!
@paolo_pedini (IG) sent me this pic from @twdtruefacts. Actually a very profound insight. I like it!
@twdeaddicted (IG) pointed out that in 4x12 Daryl says, “You don’t get it. Everyone we know is dead!” Beth said, “I get it now,” just before being shot.
@twdeaddicted thinks she probably meant she understood what Daryl meant about the horrors of the real world after being exposed to Dawn’s personality. Very interesting! I’d never connected those two lines before. I also wonder if it fulfilled what Daryl said about everyone he knows being dead. Obviously, whether Beth returns or not, that’s not true. But you could argue that Beth was the only one who really KNEW Daryl. Therefore, when she was gone, everyone he “knew” was dead.
@danielverdooren (IG) pointed out that when Abe was introduced, a walker’s head is brutally smashed and we also see Abe smash several walker heads in, in S4. Shows that whether or not the actors knew, Gimple probably knew clear back in S4 that Abraham would die by Negan’s hand.
When Sam knocks on Carol’s door in 5x14, he uses the same 7-note rhythm that Negan uses here. (X) All I can say about that is that they’ve been pointing us toward S7 ever since Coda aired. Something epic must be going to happen this season. ;D
@the-ashes points out that when Beth continues Zack’s guessing game in Still about what Daryl did before the apocalypse, she guesses motorcycle mechanic, right? That was a foreshadow of him becoming a motorcycle mechanic at Alexandria. Once again, Beth’s dialogue foreshadowing HAS AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE FULFILLED!!!
Also from @the-ashes, some reminders of Clear: 1. Eugene turned. This is really interesting given Eugene’s arc this season. Does it mean he’ll turn into a walker? Or that he’ll betray TF in some way? This is why I wondered if he might die at the end of this season. I’m much less convinced of that now, but this literal writing on the wall must mean something. 2. “Sick after blood cover” I never knew this but (Comic Book Spoiler) in the CBs, Dwight dips an arrow in walker blood and uses it to make Rick sick. This could be a reference to that. Something to keep an eye out for simply because Dwight has become such an important character this season. On Morgan’s walls, right near these two phrases, is the one: 3) “It doesn’t matter how many days, how much time,” which of course we want to apply to Beth’s return. ;D. Also near this is the now-infamous 4) “No kias on bef,” and right above that, the word 5) “memory.” Hmm… (More on Morgan’s walls: X, X, X)
Several people including @wdway and @doeroseq and @katkhaos sent me information about Christian symbolism around pretzels. This includes the fact that the twist of a pretzel represents arms being crossed in prayer. The three holes represent the Holy Trinity (plus rule of 3s for Beth). Pretzels were often eaten for Lent, from Ash Wednesday until Easter. They may have also been the basis for Easter Egg hunts as some cultures hid pretzels around the yard once upon a time.
Which leads to the inevitable discussion about Easter. Easter isn’t until about two weeks after the TWD finale airs this year. But obviously the most fitting date for Beth’s return would be Easter, as that’s the quintessential resurrection date for Christ. So the closest episode for that would be the finale. And let’s not forget that last Easter, Michael Cudlitz tweeted that one way or the other, someone would be coming back from the dead at Easter time. Just saying.
Also, from @wdway: During Rick’s death fake out in 7x12, an ER sign sits right behind Michonne. We saw something similar via the Morse Code board in 7x04 when Michonne got her gun out of the fireplace. I’m not going to go into why that’s super-interesting to me, but a friend of mine has recently come up with an awesome find/theory that might tie into this. Keep on eye on Michonne!
(And yes I get that the “ER” is part of th eword “SUPER” on the carnival ride, but tptb purposely left out the “R” as if to emphasize the “ER.”)
@bluesandbeth sent me this pic.
Yet another 8 around Richonne (on the side of the Ferris wheel seat) in this episode. We talked about what they could mean. As far as I’m concerned, they could only mean one of 2 things. Either they point toward S8 (most likely) or they’re pointing us back toward Beth, who had lots of 8s around her in 5a, which pointed toward Coda. Either way, we keep seeing 8s around Beth symbolism. There’s all the parallels this past episode between Bethyl and Richonne. We also saw it around Heath right before he got Beth’s final line and then disappeared without a trace. Just like Beth.
@bluesandbeth also pointed out this symbol, which we’ve seen more than once. The military officers (walkers) are wearing the flags on their uniforms backwards. That’s a real thing and shows that the soldier is going into battle.
The idea is that the soldier is moving forward (into battle) and the flag would be flying behind him. So this is a sign of a coming battle. Not saying it’s a TD thing. We know the All Out War story line is on its way (in S8, which would correspond with all the 8s) which means it’s more likely this would correspond to all of TF. The fact that Richonne are in these scenes shows they’ll probably lead the war (which we all probably figured anyway). But I feel compelled to point out that the green army tents and equipment first appeared in 4x01 (along with the Bethyl hug) and were conspicuously present in Coda, and around Heath right before he disappeared. To me, that suggests that Beth will be a part of the All Out War story line.
Oh, there’s also a flag draped over the railing in the cabin picture in 5x09. Look:
That’s really interesting to me. We’ve all been waiting 2+ years to see the scenes Emily filmed at that little cabin. Perhaps this shows that we won’t see them until the war story line? Also, when the flag is upside down like that, it general represents that someone (i.e. the country) is in trouble or doomed. In this episode, Tyreese is doomed, so it works well here.
Oh, you know all the suspicious Grady-actor tweets we’ve seen lately? You know what, let’s review them:
1. Jarod Thompson had to go to the hospital (in real life) and for some random and unexplained reason, included a Grady picture. (X, X)
2. Teri Wyble (who played Shepherd) recently did an interview saying that she thought the people at Grady are alive and well, albeit low on supplies. (X) Why say that if the story line is over?
3. And it seems every few months we get a new suspicious tweet from Erik Jensen (Dr. Edwards). So here’s a new one to add to the collection: The wonderful @booklverlife (IG) actually tweeted Erik Jensen on Feb 13, just a few weeks ago, and got a reply. Check it out:
Again, why do this if the story line is over? I’ve never believed they’re just trolling TD. Why do that? There’s no benefit to them. Even if one of them just decided to be a jerk, all of them? Really? There are too many of them now. No idea what the France reference is about. Might just be misdirection, or maybe something we don’t understand yet. But he certainly didn’t reply that they weren’t coming back or say, “Sorry. Wish I was.” Nope. As always, ambiguous and mysterious.
Finally, these are just some extra things I’ve been thinking about:
Remember in this last episode when Michonne randomly started shooting milk jugs from the milk jug carnival game? I knew that had to mean something. I just didn’t know what.
So I looked it up:
"Milk is a powerful symbol within most cultural traditions. It is the fluid of eternal life, fertility, abundance; it is the food of the gods, the first human diet, it flows freely in the “promised land of Canaan” Milk symbolizes the MOTHER, it is deeply connected with life itself.“ (Source) It can also be a symbol of fertility or conflict. (Source)
All of these things go well with Michonne and the show right now. I feel like there was an Adam and Eve/Alone In Our Own World theme around Richonne in this episode. The fertility thing is especially interesting given the whole honeymoon theme. Milk is a symbol we see in the bible. The promised land is often said to be flowing with milk and honey. So not necessarily a TD thing, but interesting.
Okay, finally, in our FB group, we’ve been talking a lot these past few weeks about the fact that episode 8x01 will be episode 100 for the show. It’s been conjectured that, given the 100 theme we’ve seen since S4, episode 100 COULD be the one where Beth comes back.
I think that’s possible, but it will suck if they make us wait all summer again. Honestly, though, I still think it’s more likely that we’ll see her in 7x16 as the cliffhanger (as many have predicted).
Two reasons I think that:
1) It will give everyone something to talk about over the summer. As with who Negan’s victim was, everyone would talk and conjecture all summer about how Beth lived, what she’d been through, etc. Now, we’ve seen them go both ways on this. The S4 and S6 finales were major cliffhangers that made everyone talk all summer. Then again, the S5 finale was kinda boring and non-cliffhangery, so it’s possible that they’ll do that too.
2) Let’s look at how the 100 theme was used in S4. In episode 4x04, Daryl stares at that green jasper like his soul is tied to it *coughs Beth* and in the background, Michonne, Ty, and Bob talk about how they’re going to use Highway 100 to get back to the prison.
So I’m thinking 100 is the route back to TF.
So it makes sense to me that we’d see Beth in 7x16 and then 8x01 (episode 100) could be the one that has all the flashbacks of her story line we’ve been waiting for and shows what she went through to make it back to TF.
Thoughts?
Thanx SOOO much to everyone who contributed! My followers are bonafide geniuses! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💖💖💖

[ADMIN] Looking back on 2 years
Today I’m going to bring up a few topics I’ve been thinking on hard lately, and I’d like to share my thoughts on Romeo, the agency and the fandom with you since the transitional period is over, and it’s high time we drew some conclusions, having Romeo’s anniversary ahead.
What were things like two years ago? What changes have we seen? Let’s have a look at year 2015 and remember where we were then. First, we had 7 handsome boys, smiling mysteriously from the screen, an agency set up by ex SM and Pledis workers and a few active fanbases, which made up the framework of what would become the main Romeo fanbases.
Since I’m going to present my personal opinion on all the points on the list, let’s start with Romeo members and what was so attractive about them for me. When I joined the fandom, there were no videos to give an idea on their personalities, I just saw their beauty and got caught immediately. I should explain here the way I see beauty (if you have already read my previous posts on the topic, please skip this part). So, for me the notion of beauty consists of two aspects: the appearance and the inner world. People who are handsome on the outside while lacking in inner beauty, basically aren’t beautiful for me, I call them ‘pretty faces’ as I’m not interested in empty shells. Will Romeo it was different. I got struck by their amazing looks, and, keeping in mind that my feelings hadn’t ever let me down, I knew my love at first sight would be the real one.
What can I say now? I never regret my choice. Their good looks are still striking, and my heart is still sinking at their sight, but what has really changed, in my personal point of view, is Kangmin’s appearance. Maybe it’s me staring at the boys for 5+ hours a day, but to me their face features have remained pretty much the same. Everyone’s, except Kangmin’s. Like a duckling turning into a mesmerizing swan, this kid has become one of the most cute AND handsome men I’ve ever seen. In the interview for Tenasia he says he’s jealous with Seunghwan and other hyungs who are grown-up, but he doesn’t see that the member who has changed most and whose transformation is absolutely breathtaking is him! Kangmin, you are someone who has a rare talent of uniting childish charm with manliness and charisma, please be fair to yourself!
Speaking of appearance, I can’t leave their stylists and make-up artists out. I won’t cite only Seo Soo Kyung here as I’m sure a lot more people are working hard on Romeo’s costumes and image, but I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone in the team. At the moment I literally can’t come up with any case when Romeo’s costumes/make-up weren’t on point, not a single failure (let’s hope Kangmin’s skirt was for Pikicast haha). 감사합니다 from all my heart, you’re doing an amazing job!
As for Romeo as idols 2 years ago, I tend to agree with Hyunkyung who said they weren’t ready. Not in the vocals, choreography or entertainment aspect, but in treating us their fans and seeing themselves as idols. These boys didn’t live into their new roles at that time, they couldn’t take on responsibility for us as they didn’t perceive themselves as someone special. It had both benefits and drawbacks, which ended up as a hard school of life for all sides. Now, however, we are bathing in bliss, receiving a lot of fancafe messages and tweets every day and even having our own fanclub in the group! It is also heartwarming to see that the boys make gifts for Korean Juliets themselves, prepare special stages for Japanese activities, reply to birthday messages on fancafe, share a bit of their inner drama with us and all in all are much more conscientious in treating their fans. I still miss their long long letters on fancafe they used to write a year and a half ago, speaking openly about their worries, but anyway, hearing from them daily is invaluable.
Ever since the debut Romeo haven’t talked much about themselves, and I guess it’s something that keeps us farther than we would like to. Still, we got a chance to see their childhood photos and read about their pre-debut life which is already a step forward.
At the same time, there is a step backward as well... Guys, where is the fanservice? I’m not talking about aegyo, where are Hyunkyung’s bare shoulders in the MV, Kyle’s abs in HQ or at least Yunsung’s back with decent timing to actually spot anything? Where is food for our OTP fantasies? Like... when you debuted, things were clear, and we were so happy to notice Kangmin always sticking by Milo’s side, and Yunsung giving a tender hug to Kyle whereas now (I think any shipper will agree here) everyone’s OTP list is completely ruined! We haven’t seen any pepero games for over a year, and it breaks our hearts as we want all the members to be loved and taken care of, and since we can’t do it ourselves, we hope to see it from the other members. Please, don’t take our small joys away~
I feel also devastatingly deprived of seeing their personal talents. I think I would give away an arm for a series like beaglemeoh, but with their vocal or choreography training. Have you ever seen Kangmin dancing his amazing popping for more than a few seconds? Me neither! *sighs*
Speaking of beaglemeoh, I should say it’s the best thing that happened to me within these two years. When I watch these gleeful bubbly kids have fun, I get so excited I can cope with any trouble! Thank you to the staff for sharing these moments with us! Actually, a lot has changed in the staff’s attitude since the debut. I can’t know what was behind the merge with Hunus and what remained from connections with SM, but the changes are dramatic and giving me hope. I have never seen such an active promotion, constant flood of gorgeous photos from the staff, beaglemeoh videos, interviews, behind the scenes cuts, etc. before. Besides, Romeo have finally got their own V app channel! (the videos aren’t subbed anymore though, but that’s another story T_T) I’ve got a lot of concerns about the future Japanese activities and the perspectives in Korea, yet cherishing hopes for seeing a wise and consistent promotion in both countries (with 4 comebacks a year!!! jk)
Then, the fandom. I believe it is already settled and isn’t likely to change in future, so I can describe Juliets with two key words: cute & quiet. We are all sweet, peaceful and kind, these I believe to be our main traits. Despite losing ctromeo on tumblr, a lot of fansites and some fanbases, we are together, and the backbone built back in 2015 is still working hard for Romeo. I will pray that Romeo will see and note all those old fanbases one day as it is the admins who fuel love for Romeo within their national fanclubs, and that’s a great job!
What else should I say here? Contrary to my original intention of summerizing how many followers we got on different accounts, I’d like to concentrate on the active ones. Those who love Romeo, who support us, who let me move on in everyday’s struggle with dispair, who give me so many emotions and energy to be better and word harder. Those who read these words. Without you I wouldn’t be able to love these boys, who have changed my love, as much as I do. Your every like and comment is a jolt of fresh air, and I’m always thankful for your staying with Romeo as well as with Romeo Russia! #Without_U everything is pointless, so thank you thank you thank you thoudands of times!

Liner Notes (December 21st, 2018)
This is the second to last Liner Notes before the end of 2018. This year has been impossibly long while flying by at a record pace. It makes absolutely no sense. I hope everyone is gearing up for a nice weekend and preparing to spend the holidays in whatever way makes you happiest. I plan to spend some time offline, reading, and enjoying the company of family. As a little holiday gift, I’m making this version of Liner Notes, which are usually exclusive to supporters, free for all. This week’s roundup includes my ranking of All Time Low albums. After discovering these “do teens know 2000’s pop-punk” videos on YouTube (and immediately feeling old as hell), I got on a pop-punk kick and ended up listening to their catalog all week. I also share my thoughts after spending a week with Apple Music on the Amazon Echo, ten songs I loved this week, and, of course, my weekly media diet. The supporter Q&A post can be found here. Five Things * This week I did a deep dive on the All Time Low discography, and I’m ready to do some ranking! * Future Hearts: My re-listens solidified it for me that this is my favorite album from the band. It combined a variety of aspects I think they do well, while also playing around with their sound enough to keep it fresh. From “Cinderblock Garden” to “Runaways” to “The Edge of Tonight,” this is just a giant batch of songs I enjoy from top to bottom. I think it combines their pop-punk/rock leanings with just the right amount of a more modern pop styling. I also think Alex sounds as good as ever on this record. * Don’t Panic: This feels like the slightly more “rock” version of Future Hearts to me. A lot of the same sounds are there, they lean into the rock side a little bit more on a bit more of the songs, and therefore it has a little more bite to it. Some great stuff here like “Backseat Serenade” and my favorite, “Outlines.” I’m surprised by how many little moments this album has that elevates it. That little clap like sound on “The Reckless and the Brave,” or the Green Day-like opening to “For Baltimore.” This is pop-punk that doesn’t feel like it’s leaning too hard on nostalgia; almost feels like what Blink-182 were trying to do on California, but didn’t quite get all the way there. (I’d be down for a Mike Green produced Blink-182 song.) * Last Young Renegade: I’m surprised how much this album has stayed in my rotation over the past year. I knew I liked it when it came out, but I didn’t think I’d still be playing it. I’d venture a guess this moves up my ranking list as time goes on. “Dirty Laundry” and “Afterglow” really show the band’s songwriting growth. I hope they continue to play with this direction and don’t abandon it too quickly. It suits them as they move into a new stage of their career. * Nothing Personal: What hit me the most about this album, released almost ten years ago, is how modern it sounds. The songwriting, structure, production, isn’t nearly as dated as I was expecting. The lyrics … well, they’re a little rough in places, but songs like “Lost in Stereo” and “Walls” hold up quite well. * So Wrong, It’s Right: This album always felt to me like it was trying to be too much like the pop-punk classics that came before it. It wanted to be a Blink/NFG album. I guess, with time, it’s now become a classic of its own. It’s still not my favorite, there are too many songs that don’t work for me, but there are some certified greats on here. “Dear Maria” and “Six Feet Under the Stars” are great (although, I prefer the acoustic version of the later). * Dirty Work: Listening to this now, it’s … not as bad as I remembered. There are some huge sequencing issues, and if you cut some songs, and play around with the track listing, I think there’s a semblance of something better here. I still don’t think the album lives up to what came before or after, but there’s a few songs I’ll remember to come back to more frequently than I have in the past. I may even flirt around with cutting together something I could listen to front to back. I can’t get over how bad “That Girl” is. * Put Up or Shut Up: This was a rough listen. It’s the band trying to make their best Fall Out Boy-esque impression, in lyrics, vocals, and style … and it is tough to get through. * The Party Scene: I didn’t like it in 2005. I still don’t. * Conclusion: This band went from one I enjoyed a few songs from, to one I saw a lot of potential in, to one I thought missed their chance, to one that’s released three incredibly solid albums (that I genuinely like) in a row. They’re a band that’s found a sound I could say is very much their own, while being influenced by all the bands I grew up loving. They have a lengthy discography, it’s full of good to great songs, and they seem only to be getting better. I hope they keep making music and I hope they keep walking down this path they started on their last two albums as songwriters. They’re a fun band that’s impressed me with their longevity and maturation into a band I’m legit excited to see where they go next. * I liked this write-up from Craig Manning about Bruce Springsteen. I’ve never loved Bruce to the level that Craig (and Thomas Nassiff) love Bruce, but I will always love reading about artists someone is passionate about. * The post about the glitter bomb vs. package thief was exceptionally popular on the website this week. In an otherwise slow news week, I found that funny. Also what an incredible contraption. * We are finalizing our contributor end of the year list, and we’ll begin writing blurbs and putting the entire feature together over the next two weeks. I really like my final list; some years I’m more tepid, but this year, this year feels good. I like how everything is shaking out, and I can’t wait to read everyone else’s picks and find stuff I slept on. * I spent the week playing around with Apple Music on the Amazon Echo. It’s nice. I enjoy being able to play most songs by saying yelling them out into the air. I’ve used it to play my Best of 2018 and Holiday Music playlists, and it works great. The big missing feature is adding iCloud Music Library to the collection. Right now I can’t play songs that aren’t in the Apple Music library but are in my personal collection. So, for example, I can’t ask it to play the new Copeland album even though the files are in my library and I can play them on the Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and my computer. Hopefully, that feature gets added in the future. The other flaw I’ve found is that the shuffle kind of sucks. My “paired down to favorites” Holiday Playlist has 150 songs on it. I’ve played it three or four times this week. Put it on shuffle each time. And I heard mostly the same batch of songs. Something’s not quite right there. (Some Googling showed this being an issue for Amazon Music and Spotify listeners as well.) Music Thoughts * Beside doing a full All Time Low discography deep dive, I didn’t listen to much else this week. I spun my playlist of favorites from 2018 a few times, to see if I wanted to tweak any ranking of albums, and also played quite a bit of holiday music around the house. I tried to get caught up on some podcasts, but that’s sort of failing. * The A Very Spidey Christmas EP that was released today is quite a bit of fun. * I also really like the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse original score. (I also found this tweet thread about it fascinating.) Entertainment Thoughts * I enjoyed The Myth of the American Sleepover. In some respects, it’s a lesser Dazed and Confused, but it’s still the kind of movie I enjoy watching and have always had a thing for. A little slice of life in a group of teenagers lives, when done well, is one of my favorite genres. * First Man was quite good. It’s probably my least favorite Damien Chazelle movie at the same time. I thought it was well shot, well acted, well scored, and the sound design was fantastic. It wasn’t as gripping as I expected, it didn’t quite get as deep into what drove Armstrong as I would have liked, and even though the movie was long, I would have loved some more history/story. Even with all that, this was a great watch, and I’ll see it again. * Dumplin’ on Netflix was endearing. A great little film to watch during the holidays when you just want your heart to grow three sizes and enjoy a nice night of entertainment. * It’s been a long time since I’ve watched Home Alone front to back. It was everything I wanted it to be. I remembered the entire movie and loved every second of it. I still remember my cousin seeing this movie before me and telling me in detail every single beat. I begged my parents to take me to see it the next day and laughed and laughed. It then became a tradition to watch it every Christmas. I’m going to have to make sure to bring it back out and get it into the rotation with A Christmas Story and other holiday classics. And never forget: Fuller not only wets the bed, HE LIKES WETTING THE BED, that little monster is excited about the opportunity. * I was pleasantly surprised with Bad Times at the El Royale. It’s a little too long, wears the influences a little too much on the sleeves, but it was very entertaining. I’d say I was pleasantly surprised and came away enjoying it way more than expected. Now, I must know: Is there a clause in Chris Hemsworth’s contract that says he has to be shirtless in each movie? Because that’s just genius. That dude’s body is ridiculous. Either way, this was a good way to spend an evening, and it kept me guessing through most of the movie. And those god damn abs … seriously. * Office Christmas Party is a very bad movie that for some reason we put on while wrapping Christmas presents last night. It’s totally not good, and yet it’s oddly perfect to watch, and chuckle at while doing something else. I think that comes down to the likability of Jason Bateman and Olivia Munn. * The Good Place is still one of my favorite shows. Episode nine of season three, “Janet(s),” was just incredible. * I am unreasonably excited for Titans tonight. Ok, the preview shows Batman, so it’s not unreasonable, it’s just tickling the Batman part of my brain, and that means I don’t want to do anything else — I just want this damn show to download so I can watch it. Without having seen the final episode, I’d say this season ended up being quite good. I enjoyed it for what it was more than I expected and like all the characters and can’t wait to see where it goes from here. Dick Grayson has been played so well I actually would love to see him in movies. He’s been great. * We’re two episodes into Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season two. It’s everything I wanted it to be. Can’t wait to get back into this world and really have the season settle in. I hope to binge more of this over the weekend and early next week. * We don’t talk enough about how Ross has a monkey in Friends. Seriously, that’s the pet … that’s the storyline for multiple episodes … his monkey. And he’s the one everyone I knew wanted to be like; dress like; act like. The nineties were wild. * I’m up to issue #797 of Amazing Spider-Man. I hope to crank through the rest of Dan Slott’s run over the weekend. After that, I’m going to get caught up on Spider-Gwen and as much Scarlet Spider as possible (who stars as my current iPad lock-screen wallpaper). Random and Personal Stuff * My weight dropped more than I would like this week, so I’m adding a few more calories. I’ve sort of slipped into the bad habit of being ok with going over my set limit by 100 or so each day because my weight was right where I wanted it to be, if not a bit lower, and I need to be better about figuring out the right calorie goal instead. It is nice to not stress as much about these things, however. Last night I had some gummy candies, and an extra beer, and woke up this morning and being .8 lbs under my goal weight. That’s a welcome change. The holiday week will be a test to make sure I don’t get carried away. Lots of family meals out which are hard to track correctly. * For the past three years Hannah and I have had a tradition where we get each other a Christmas ornament. We write the date on it and add it to the tree. It’s a fun little way of remembering our life together. This year she got me a Batman and Spider-Man set. Because of course. I bought a few glass bulbs on Amazon and then printed out the little write-up/speech I used when I asked her to marry me. I cut the speech up into long slices, curled them up, and put those in the bulbs with some red and green ribbons, along with some printouts of the date we got engaged. I thought they came out pretty well. That’s an idea you can steal. * I’ve been keeping the Q&A thread updated with my thoughts as I build out the new “thread ignore” system on the website. I should have that completed right after the holidays wrap up. It’s a good, useful, feature, but I’m most excited about fixing up some of the design stuff and using the new thread view tweaks to add even more new features in the future. Like, I get why this is needed, but adding features to the website that everyone will be able to use and get value from, versus one that’s built around hiding things from the site, are always more fun. I think some optimization/bug fixes will be what I work on right after finishing this up. I’ve noticed some stuff, while coding this, that I want to go back and clean up a little. * Holiday get together with my dad tonight, holiday happy-hour/visiting The Grotto over the weekend with Hannah’s parents. And then we plan to order Chinese food and play board games on Christmas Eve before spending the day with Hannah’s family, and the evening with mine, on Christmas itself. That … that’s going to be a day. (Hannah read last week’s Liner Notes and didn’t believe me about how awkward some parts of my family can be. Then she went to the event. Now she knows.) Ten Songs Here are ten songs that I listened to and loved this week. Some may be new, some may be old, but they all found their way into my life during the past seven days. * King Neptune – Terrify Me * All Time Low – Outlines * Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) * Daniel Pemberton – Security Guard * Shameik Moore – Joy to the World * William Ryan Key – Downtown (Up North) * All Time Low – Dirty Laundry * John Mayer – Home Life * Cat Stevens – Father and Son * The Blue Nile – From a Late Night Train The playlists are also available on Spotify and Apple Music. Well, that became a whole lot longer than I expected. I wrote so much after breakfast that now I need to get lunch. I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas if you celebrate it, and happy holidays as well. I hope the next week is filled with only good things, and if there are any struggles, that you can find the strength to push through. And, with that, I leave you with some Calvin and Hobbes: Previous editions of this roundup can be found here. --- Please consider supporting us so we can keep bringing you stories like this one. ◎ https://chorus.fm/features/articles/liner-notes-december-21st-2018/

Misa Matsushima’s childhood dream of being a fighter pilot was inspired by the 1986 US film Top Gun
A Japanese woman will be flying through the glass ceiling as she becomes her country’s first female fighter pilot. First Lieutenant Misa Matsushima, 26, will begin duty on Friday having completed her training to fly F-15s, Japan’s military has announced.”As the first female (fighter) pilot, I will open the way,” she told reporters.Japan’s air force began recruiting women in 1993 – except as fighter jet and reconnaissance aircraft pilots. It lifted that final ban in late 2015.”Ever since I saw the movie Top Gun when I was in primary school, I have always admired fighter jet pilots,” the graduate of Japan’s National Defence Academy told journalists.”I wish to continue to work hard to fulfil my duty – not just for myself but also for women who will follow this path in the future.”Three other women are currently training to join the elite group of fighter pilots. The F-15J fighter jets they will pilot are twin-engine aircrafts designed for air-to-air combat with other jets. They can reach top speeds of about Mach 2.5 – 2.5 times the speed of sound or about 3,000 km/h (1,864 miles/h).”The first female fighter pilot of the Air Self-Defence Force is born,” a tweet (in Japanese) from the Japan Air Self-Defence Force said.
The 26-year-old had planned to fly transport planes before the final gender restriction on fighter pilots was lifted.Women in Japan’s work forceJapan has high levels of gender inequality, with many women expected to become housewives rather than having a career. But faced with an aging population and shrinking workforce, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe pledged in 2013 to empower working women. The armed forces has taken on his “womenomics” policy by planning to increase the number of women serving in the 228,000-strong air, sea and ground troops from the current 6.1% to 9% by 2030.Earlier this year, Ryoko Azuma became the first woman to command a warship squadron. “I don’t think about being a woman. I will concentrate my energy on fulfilling my duties as commander,” the 44-year-old said at the time, according to local media. When she joined the country’s maritime self-defence force in 1996, women were not allowed to serve on warships. That ban was lifted a decade ago, but women are still barred from serving on submarines.Breaking through Japan’s male-dominated workplace remains a huge challenge in different fields, such as the corporate world where women face difficulties rising up the ranks.Women are also still banned from competing professionally in Japan’s national sport, sumo wrestling.Despite the prime minister’s efforts to improve the position of women in the workplace, the nation dropped from 111th to 114th in 2017’s global gender equality rankings, according to the World Economic Forum.

It states that if a driver runs over someone on the highway and it wasn’t “on purpose” that they won’t be held accountable. The language does not specify protesters, it could apply to a child running across the street. It gives a pass to careless drivers and hot heads. The DAPL protesters are outraged.

*****A new BBC documentary brings us evidence that a coal fire on the Titanic may have helped the ship go down even faster. A 30 year researcher tells us a fire in the boiler room damaged the hull long before it hit the iceberg. So the real culprits could be Fire and ice and criminal negligence. This had been reported at the time but has resurfaced because a collection of photographs. They were found in an attic by a descendent of a director of the Belfast based company, Harland and Wolff. There was a 30 foot long diagonal black mark on the hulls front starboard side near where the ice hit in a photo taken before the Titanic ever left the shipyard. Some seem to think this isn’t important but others think the mark was caused by fire and is a revelation.

She was to perform on Ellen but due to anti -gay comments she made, her performance was cancelled. She was to perform with Pharrell who still appeared but distanced himself saying, ”I love her but there is no room for any kind of prejudice in 2017.”
*****C’mon while they still can.. could we have a Walton’s or Dr. Quinn movie? This country needs some good old fashioned family love. Dolly can’t do it alone.
*****Assange = Putin puppet
*****Who the fuck is Bo Bice?
*****Charles Manson was rushed to the hospital at the beginning of January. Some reports said that the 82 year old was to undergo surgery for serious gastrointestinal bleeding but officials would not comment.
*****There are only 7000 cheetahs left.
*****Illinois still has no budget.
*****Wow! So scientists now say that we have an organ, the mesentery, that they previously thought ‘a group of structures connecting the intestine to the abdomen.’
*****The Golden Globes started off with a teleprompter malfunction for Jimmy Fallon. We did not see much of him after that. The highlight of the evening had to be Meryl Streep and her fabulous speech about the election. People often poo poo the liberal Hollywood agenda when receiving awards but this was the first time all night that the crowd was silent and really listened. The ladies in the room looked so proud as she made her way to the stage for her Cecil B. DeMille award. She made such a perfect point about Trump and about supporting good journalism. We are gonna need that! Go Meryl! ***Other highlights were Donald Glover who got best actor and best show, Atlanta awards. He so deserves them. I was jumping up and down! Glover has also signed a new deal with FX to develop new projects. Atlanta won’t be back until 2018! I was so hopeful for Bob Odenkirk or Matthew Rhees to win but Billy Bob Thornton nabbed it. At least he mentioned Mr. O and Thornton pretended a funny feud. It was a win for Sarah Paulson and Casey Affleck! It seems that Julia Louis and her winning days may finally be over. Viola Davis won!! Gosling (who gave a great speech too) and Stone and La La Land won big, breaking records. *** There seemed to be some controversy about Fences and Hidden Figures with Jenna Bush.***While presenting for animated film, Kristen Wiig and Steve Carell took their banter all the way until the room was silence. Beautiful! Best dressed were Kerry Washington, Mandy Moore, Sofia Vergara, Janelle Monae, Questlove, Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Kristen Bell , Ruth Nega and Laura Dern. Worst dresses for me were Felicity Jones and Zoe Saldano, Riley keiou, Nicole Kidman and Carrie Underwood. It seemed a surprise to see Brad Pitt and Leo Dicaprio. Why was this Chrisley dude on the after show?? Did he dis Nancy Grace?***The stranger things kids seemed to be the belles of the ball. They seemed to have fun meeting everyone they came to see when the commercials were on.
*****The Jeff Macdonald case is back in the spotlight. The Green Beret officer is still trying to get out.
*****It looks again, like the left has been pussies to the republican bullies. During the election, Obama and his team wondered if lashing out about the Russian cyber problem would be adding to the chaos. We always worry about how it looks and we try to bend over backwards to do the right thing. While we are doing that, they just bulldoze over everything and everyone and people applaud it. We were looking for Putin to interfere in the actual votes but he was more interested in psychological warfare. Voters seemed to be looking for any reason to not vote for Hillary while Russia and the Trump lies kept coming. It is not surprising that Comey was so against not releasing this Russian interference. He turns right around and keeps bringing up the’ damn e mails.’ Funny he said nothing about the file that Russia had on Trump. Why does this guy have a job? He is always in the middle of some dirty business. We now know that Trump and his team were already talking to Russia during the election. BTW.. Is it worrisome that Trump was given a brief about this file but did not seem to know of it for days because he did not read it??
*****Is the new President doing some advertising for L.L. Bean?
*****Trump waited longer than any other president elect to hold an official press conference. It happened right when all his nominees were getting questioned. It took the spotlight off the bizarro world picks he made. Didn’t he always moan about Obama not holding press conferences? The crowd was filled with his own people to applaud his words. Trump and his family looked a bit queasy on Jan. 11, 2017. His announcer is spouting about lies before the racist even takes the podium. They had piles of files to make a point. If we read them what would they really say? There was a lot of venom (like the first 20 minutes) spewed at reporters. They built a whole campaign on fake news but now they seem to be against it. He calls CNN “fake news” and then the BBC, ”that’s another beauty.” Hmm. Jake Tapper hit back that CNN did not report any uncorroborated news. And Trump is still talking smack about Hil and now about how wonderful and elegant inauguration day will be, anything to keep from the real issues. We now know the inauguration was not all he built it up to be. He tells us that reporters are the only ones that want to see his tax returns. WRONG!! The bulk of this press conference was his lawyer telling us about his business affairs. He is going to give money made from foreign dignitaries at his hotels to the U. S. treasury. Ok. What about all the rest of it? You still have your name on buildings and you own the shit. There is still no resolution to various conflicts and his business ethics. Since then lawsuits have been brought by ethics lawyers against Trump. The press conference ended with the lovely thought that if his sons do a bad job running his biz, he will say “you’re fired.” What??
*****Ivanka is going to be a “modern day first daughter” who will be an integral part of the administration.
*****Seeing Laurence Fishburne on The Daily show call Trump ‘45’ gave me great inspiration. I have noticed that Joy Behar, Triumph the insult comic dog, myself and most everyone I know has so much trouble even saying ‘President Trump’. So I think in my next columns I will start to call him scary clown 45. To me it sums him up pretty good. I want to laugh, to cry and I’m downright scared for our country.
*****Shulkin , the current under secretary, has been picked to run the Veteran’s affairs department.
*****It was wonderful to see Joe Biden get the Presidental Medal of Freedom with distinction.
*****The bees have been added to the endangered species list.
*****The White house remembered Holocaust day without mentioning the Jewish people. Standard holocaust deniers in the White House, I guess. Reince Priebus who made the rounds at the Sunday morning shows this weekend made no apologies. He did agree that many Jews suffered . I think it is their mantra to never apologize.
*****Diane Sawyer takes on the ‘new reality’ on 20/20. She follows Americans who work 2 or 3 jobs with no safety nets or savings accountants. There is a boom in third shift child care. I am a little shocked that so many people are just waking up to this. It is business as usual for a big chunk of society, Most of the people I have known in my life have always lived this way. This really shows just how little people look to their fellow man to help or inquire of their plight. Oh, people are out there that have always had big hearts. But it seems like these ‘forgotten ‘ Americans ‘ don’t realize that a lot of us were always ‘forgotten’. It will never get better as long as people keep worrying about their own wallets. We need to work together. I do not understand what they mean when they want to make America great again. With some simple research we can see that unemployment is down, homelessness is down, wages are up, emergency room visits are down and crime is down. There is bad, always will be but America is pretty great. Until the top of the food chains spread it around, we are doomed to repeat things that forget some of us. Unfortunately, those very souls are in charge for now.
*****In the confirmation hearings of the rich, old Trump picks, it was great to see Diane Feinstein hit them hard right out f the box. She immediately asks about human trafficking and abortion. Jeff sessions tells us that Roe v. wade “one of the worst, most erroneous decisions made by the supreme court ever.” Al Franken seemed to really get under his skin. Do they not see that abortion rates are the lowest they have been since ’73? With better health care and access to better reproductive education we have gotten better and more widespread use of birth control. The Pope is trying to do his part by letting Catholic charities give out condoms despite many upset that it goes against religious teachings. Sessions was confirmed. **Rex Tillerson says the climate change studies are inconclusive. Elizabeth Warren was grilling Tom Price since he just kept going round and round and never really answering the questions.**Scott Pruitt is nominated for the EPA. He always sides with the corporate polluters, always working against the EPA.
*****They say the Wall will be a minimum of 15 to 25 billion to construct. The border is 3000 Km. long. This does not even take into account future maintenance and employees. The border towns do not seem too happy. Making it harder for people to legally cross the border is not the answer. They rely on customers that cross the border to buy their goods. Mexico is the 3rd largest trade partner of the U.S. and according to NAFTA and the WHO, Mexico can retaliate. After 9-11, the auto industry supply flow through North America from Canada to Mexico was disrupted. Do we remember the chaos that ensued? Sanctuary cities (except Miami) are not happy but should not be threatened with funding yanked. Former Mexican President Vincente Fox says he agrees that they should withdraw from NAFTA if this happens. 20% tariffs will cause prices to go up. Current President Nieto, though not terribly popular says they will not pay for this fucking wall. Lindsey Graham is pushing back to make sure we have Corona and tequila at a decent price.
*****The SAG awards went out just before January was over. There were many shout outs to Trump and speeches about acceptance. Julia Louis was the first to win and talked of her Father, an immigrant. Sarah Paulson asked for donations to the ACLU. The most emotional speech came from Mahershala Ali who talked about being at odds with his Mother about faith but that they worked it out. Other winners included Orange is the new black, William H. Macy, Viola Davis, Bryan Cranston, John Lithgow, Denzel Washington, Emma Stone, Hidden Figures and the cast of Stranger things which seemed to be the favorite. Dolly Parton was there to give Lily Tomlin the lifetime achievement award. Jane Fonda was supposed to be there but had taken ill. The Lily montage really showed an array of so many characters that is rare even for an actor’s montage. I thought the worst dressed were Nicole Kidman, Julie Bowen, Salma Hayek and Michelle Dockery. Best dressed were Michelle Williams, Emma Stone, Sofia Vergara, Gina Rodriguez, Taraji P. Henson, Mahershala Ali and Janelle Monet.

*****Thank you EW for your awesome cover story on Sarandon and Lange as Davis and Crawford. The first television ad left much to be desired but Ryan Murphy has to shock I suppose. I could not believe that set designers even recovered the bedroom furniture and the piano from the original ‘Baby Jane’ production Anyway, so excited about FEUD! Can’t wait!
*****The Tick is back.
*****Go Portland!! They have America’s first non- profit pub. You order a drink, a meal and which charity you want to support. I want to go to there. We need more of this. Those involved in the highlighted charities each month come a few times to work and tell the customers about their charity. One of those was the wayfinding Academy, a new Portland college. Exnovo Brewery is another non profit on the same wavelength. We must have more of this in Trump’s America.

*****Ok.. so I never really see Dateline but do appreciate Keith Morrison’s voice and the sly little things he says. I caught a good one. They told us that the victim was pretty and there were always men around. Keith’s response: “But now she’s dead!” He was also quite wide eyed with the discussion about autoerotic asphyxiation.

*****Georgia’s John Lewis does not recognize Trump as a legitimate President. He and many other Dem’s avoided the inauguration. The only real downside is that Russia is getting what they want. They love us squabbling amongst ourselves. It is a lot of ‘look over here while we are busy fucking you over here’. Trump is using the same play book. He is freaking about the size of the crowds at the inauguration. He puts the White House press secretary Sean Spicer out there on his first day to lie about the crowd size. CNN did not put this out live. They wanted to see what he said first , very shrewd. This might be the new normal. The press keeps asking Ms. Conway about it while we should be talking more about the women marching for their rights. I mean, talk about crowds, the women’s march had unprecedented crowds. My favorite shirt was the monster face of Trump with the American horror story logo on it. I think we need some of those knock down –blow up clowns that we played with as children only with Trumps face on them. They hit back with ‘oh they thought it would rain’ or ‘the Nielsen ratings were good.’ It is a tricky biz: Do we call him out on his ridiculous lies and blathering ? To ignore him could be dangerous but we will never get straight, coherent answers from these people. We have to put them at the bottom of the news but keep a close eye on what they are doing. Will the press be kicked out of the White House? Should they opt out on their own if they are only going to be told lies? Perhaps the Trump team just wants us to change the channel when Ms. Conway is being ridiculous so nobody is watching real news. It isn’t even spin or political speak any more, it is psychotic, blatant lies. Integrity matters.
*****Trump won’t have a lot of D.C. friends.. The map around Washington gets bluer and bluer every election cycle. The oval office is a bit frightening when you see Andrew Jackson looking on.
*****The right wants us to move on from this election. Everybody did give him a chance and every time he lets us down again. Did they let go of the birther movement? Should we forget the hateful things Trump says and continues to say? Should we thank him when we can no longer go to the doctor? He is trying to get the EPA to shut up, to keep them away from the press or social media.
*****It’s always sunny in Philadelphia and wolf cola are back! But are they trying to get taken off the air. They have always been so clever but they have been relying a bit too much on gross this season.

*****Liz Cheney is on board with Trump in supporting ‘enhanced interrogation.’
*****Independent lens on PBS did another riveting episode. They did a wonderful job of following Bill Genovese as he re discovers his sister, Kitty’ murder. I remember the case often in the news as I was growing up. It seemed that every other detective show did their interpretation. The murder of Kitty Genovese became a national talking point after a NY times article proclaimed that 38 onlookers did nothing. The truth had never really been known and we discover that much of what we thought we knew was wrong. After 50 years we will probably never know the whole story but the case still fascinates.

*****The inauguration: There was a lot of flap beforehand about performers. Ambassadorships were being offered to agents to get big names. Jennifer Holiday had not even agreed to be there. She had performed for 4 other Presidents. When it was announced that she would play for Trump’s inauguration, she did not quite seem to get it but that is no excuse for bullying.** All the Trump wives were there. **Ron Reagan Jr. reported that the 16 minute American carnage speech was a ‘Steve Bannon production’. It was full of darkness and bullying. **The crowd was still yelling “lock her up.” Climate change and healthcare is off the White House website. ** A couple hundred people were arrested. ** An executive order was signed to ease the burden as they repeal Obamacare? ** They filed a motion in Texas to postpone the voter ID case that has been shameful in its discrimination. They released no announcement about it, of course. It is only the beginning.**John Gore was named to head the civil rights division. He is the lawyer who defended the anti trans bathroom law and he is big on redistricting. ** Hillary Clinton was there, talk about the bigger man.**There was controversy about the inaugural cake because someone from the Trump staff ordered a replica of Obama’s cake that had been made by Duff. The cake shop used this time was asked to make a Styrofoam cake with 1 real piece for cutting. The owner said they do not refuse service to anyone because of their sexual orientation or political leanings so they did it. She and her employees decided to donate the money to charity. They gave it to the Human rights campaign who believe that Trump is unfit for the presidency.

*****Rutland Vermont has hundreds of jobs available and are welcoming refugees. Well, they were until our fearless leader decided to ban people from 7 Muslim countries from coming into this country. And why would Iraq even be in this lineup? As of this writing, I am looking at CNN and watching the protests that are happening at JFK and all over the country. There was a stay put in place by a judge but Priebus later said they apologize for nothing and that there was no chaos. How do they say things with a straight face? Why are they so fucking scared of people that don’t look like them? They should be scared of themselves, most serial killers are white men! Should we ship them out?? Justin Trudeau says Canada will welcome those fleeing prosecution. CEO’s are weighing in from ETSY to Box on how despicable this all is. Even Dick Cheney stated that this is “against everything we stand for.” With all the protests and anger that is flaring, I would think that police and employees at airports etc. are going to be sick of all the extra stress and angst that Trump is causing them. All I can figure is that the President, his cohorts and supporters are terribly miserable folks. They seem to want to make the rest us unhappy as well. This administration seems to want to pull big government into everything. I was under the impression that they were against that sort of thing. Unfortunately, the law seems to be on Trumps side. Precedent gives the President sweeping power as to whom he lets in this country because of national security. Giuliani told a reporter that Trump asked him how he could do a legal Muslim ban and I guess this is what they came up with. Congressman Seth Moulton said in a statement that the ban made him “ashamed Trump is our President. His policies literally put our troops’ lives at risk. There is nothing in his executive order that improves the vetting process.”
