Also, yes!!! I´m a sucker for these tropes with an author!reader with a partner who is working really dangerous jobs and can thus give them tips.

Just like: "Hey Rei, how can I write a murder that is realistic?" or "Shuichi, how do I describe a typical mission for a sniper?" and they´ll be so happy to help. Though they will tell you to be careful when someone asks where you got that information from. Just say "lots of research" since he doesn´t need anyone figuring him out.

Also, I think Rei is really big into health (unless it´s about him. He´s shit at taking care of himself pls do it for him) so maybe he´s so used to seeing your cute face in the café, but you´ve been looking so tired lately. And when he sees you in the park, he gets worried and takes you to Poirot to make you your favourite drink, maybe with a shot of espresso (if you, like me, don´t like coffee, he´ll mix it well enough so you don´t taste it) to help you wake up. He makes you tell him what´s going on and then forces you to sleep more. Though he does offer to help you with some scenes that would require research since he has incredibly vast knowledge (and if he doesn´t know something he´ll stay up really late to find it out for you, though he won´t rly tell you that. Again, he´s into health unless it´s about his own well-being...)

Summer was a little boring at first, I’ve actually been sort of putting off college applications even though I’ve really really gotta get to them honestly, essays and everything? Yeah

But I’ve gone to a few movies, and hung out once or twice with friends. I’ve taken up the habit of walking a little to the nearby Starbucks or Walmart and just chilling out for a bit, calm down, breathe, etc.

Agh, there’s a guy I know who’s really nice, really good at crafts, really good with advice tbh, and really great overall. There’s this ever existing feeling of being a teenage girl and liking someone that makes me feel absolutely ridiculous and trivial constantly, every giggle and smile feels scoffed at, and every longing thought makes me feel like a circus act.

It’s wild.

But other than that I’m going to debate camp which is fun :))

Next year is bound to be interesting, I’m hoping to go to New York!!!!! Which will be nice, I’m a little concerned about the logistics of it so I can make sure it works out

1. I'm all for people wanting to embrace Greek culture, but there's something so off about Rachel posting about her drinking Greek wine and (claiming) she's learning the language when LO is nothing like Greece, its culture, and she refuses to listen to actual Greeks who want to help her salvage it to something a little accurate. Even her main "sources" are Romans and British people over the actual Greeks. No amount of eating their food makes her an expert, but it seems she thinks that's good enough

2. Hera, Hestia, and Demeter look more similar to each other with a "creator" who also shares a stark similar look to them yet aren't sisters, meanwhile we're supposed to buy a black and white and dark mageneta couple created brothers who are purple, green, and blue? like seriously? i get not every family member will end up the same color and all, but shouldn't there be some similarities? like even hephaestus has the same color at metis, yet hera isnt her daughter?? cmon.

3. I would have killed for LO to have actually been the romcom it was set out to be but also Hades was a single dad to Makaria (who seems to be his only actual myth canon kid) and he has to go parent with idk Leuce and her girlfriend Minthe but NOOOO that would just be too good of an idea.

4. I don't even get why the "modern" aspect of LO is just them being business owners, and not even specific ones? Like what goods do they sell? What services? Because i've seen other modern retelling where Hades is a funeral director, Hera is a marriage counselor, Demeter runs a farm, etc etc, so why isn't the modern aspect that? Because as it stands right now the world makes no sense and Hades run what, an dead version of Amazon with actual slave labor?

5. LMAO Hades in myth is more of a fertility goddess by LO's logic than Persephone is. According to Hesiod and Plato Hades "releasing" Persephone back to the land of the living and Demeter is what causes spring to happen and for plants to come alive again, not actually Persephone. IDK why Rachel had to gender something as universal as fertility (which she can't even pin down what that means in LO) but Hades and other gods like Zeus and Hermes are more fertility based than even most goddesses.

6. Technically having Persephone connected to Elysium isn't wrong, but this cultural worship was via ... Demeter, and a ton of other deities. It was Demeter's cult in Eleusis (Eleusinian Mysteries) that gave it's cult members access to it, though later poets made it more accessible to other great souls. Regardless, it was always seen as an ancient place, long before even Hades began ruling the Underworld. The fact LO is claiming it's actually Persephone's recent invention is wrong on many levels.

7. LO isn't the only one who does this but it does it most prominently in framing the Olympians as overrated, weak, fickle beings while the Underworld is ~cool~ and has the REAL power in it and HxP are actually are the real powerful ones and the Underworld is so much better. It's a "Not like the Other Girls" take but it's comparing the Underworld/HxP  to Olympus/Olympians. It's a super immature & juvenile look at mythology and I'm shocked RS being someone in her mid/late 30s buys right into it.

8. What I find so frustrating is with RS herself whining on Twitter about how she wishes she could write LO with "less drama and more simple" like?? Then do that?? No one forced her to overcomplicate the comic, that was entirely herself and it's now biting her back because she didn't plan ahead and the task is too daunting for her to handle. She acts as if she's being forced to do it when we know that's not the case. Seriously, RS, take some responsibility for yourself and stop blaming others.

9. LO Persephone can never be yass-ified bc that would require her to actually look somewhat like an adult and Rachel would never allow that.

10. i still do NOT get why the heads in LO have just massive chins jutting out while the backs of their heads are so small? even accounting for their necks the skull still juts out a lot from where the neck meets and its just?? not in the LO designs at all?? like do they not have brains? which actually now that i say that that explains why they all act so stupid 🤔

11. How can LO be feminist when it makes so much big deal of fertility than actual Greek myths do? What's up with RS with fertility mindset? Why does she make so much big deal about Hades can't making babies? Why does RS keep saying adoption is not family? Hera, Hestia, Demeter are "friends" despite raised together by same mother. The fresh summer afternoon was pretty, with the sun high in the sky coming through the windows. It was about a solid 11:30 AM, and the sun was shining as bright as it liked to.

However, it wasn't for you as you were struggling in the bathroom of your huge house, since Sugawara works at a private K-12 School, trying to comb and pick out your hair while it was not listening.

Sugawara was downstairs, with the TV, watching Rupauls Drag Race, until he heard your frustrated screams of annoyance from the bathroom upstairs.

With a ragged sigh, he took himself up the stairs to find you literally dragging your comb through your hair, trying to comb it out before washing it.

He sighed to himself once again, and gave you a hug. He took the comb from you, and proceeded to do it himself.

To your surprise, your hair actually was tame for once in your life. As Sugawara combed through the tangled hair, you were still sort of mad, but only because somehow your hair didn’t wanna behave when you did it.

However, you sucked it up. Because your hair was never gonna be this tame again.

# sakusa, komori, and hinata ! i feel like they have undiagnosed ODD (like me) and had struggled with it growing up, and their families had already been very taxing on them. Hinata’s dad kept causing problems which resulted in him walking out on Shoyo, Natsu, and their mom. Sakusa and Komori had naturally taxing families

this led to a lot of fights and arguments, which ended up with sakusa and komori becoming more aggressive than the normal person.

so when you come along, its way different.

they’re hostile towards you, they’re more aggressive when it comes to certain things, and they love to try and start fights with you just to push you away.

but you still stayed.

and that’s exactly why, as soon as they had asked you why, they might’ve been afraid of you leaving.

but not as much as they would be, because you always stayed.

For example Shuu, he would not really know nor show much affection to Karma and Karma at first thinking that Shuu doesn't love him at all (which isn't true bc Shuu loves him deeply) but then he after some time figures it out when Shuu opens up to him more.

more clarification about how periods impact shapeshifting powers!! bc i thought abt it more after. so:

shapeshifters cannot stop their period once it has started. they don’t entirely lose their shapeshifting powers, but they do lose some of them. basically, they’re stuck with the same, like, “base” body until the period is over. so they can’t change the height of the body, or the fact that it’s having a period, or its bone structure, or things like its digestive or nervous systems, or things like that—anything the body needs to maintain to run. they can change things like hair, eye color, fat and muscle distribution (to some degree), and so on—anything that’s not integral to the body running. shapeshifting those things is also harder than it would usually be, it takes more concentration and energy. and then once the period is over their powers go back to normal.

for how shapeshifting generally works: the shapeshifter essentially just. imagines the thing they want to shapeshift into. and then they turn into it. they do have to like, make it happen after they imagine the shape they want? like. their brain is making a command for their body to do the thing. kind of like,, intentionally blinking. it feels like that. and then the actual shapeshift happens very fast, like maybe 1-2 seconds for the whole thing. it’s usually pretty easy and doesn’t take much energy, the main exception being if they are shifting to have non-human features (like gills wings etc) or appearances (like making themself be, like, stretched-out-mike-teavee-from-charlie-and-the-chocolate-factory shape). non-human shapeshifts like those do take some extra energy to do, kind of like pushing through a barrier, and the time it takes increases to like 3-5 seconds. also healing by regenerating cells takes more energy and time too. but aside from those cases, and the period case i talked abt in the last paragraph, shapeshifting does not take a noticeable amount of energy. again like blinking. also, shapeshifters can unintentionally shapeshift in their sleep, specifically while they are dreaming. that’s more common for some and less common for others, almost like how sleepwalking is a thing for some people and not for others.

ALSO janus stabbing things is especially funny bc. it doesn’t go with their powers. and it gives them 0 advantage over their nemesis. so there’s literally no reason for them to do it, they just like stabbing things. like, viper (his nemesis) has laser powers. stabbing helps, like, 0% with fighting lasers. janus has like some mirror weapon tool things for when they actually fight viper. and viper now wears protective armor built into her suit’s stomach and chest, and has bracers on her arms. to protect from janus’s illogical stabbing habits. it’s rlly funny.

also, unrelated, but since im talking about viper: she’s a lesbian, and janus is only into men, which both of them are very happy about, because (although janus’s genderfluidity sometimes does make this a tiiiiny bit wobbly, that’s not mostly a problem) it allows them to have all the inherent gay tension of a super nemesis relationship without ever having to worry about actual attraction or feelings getting involved. they’ve literally had whole conversations about this while fighting, and they actually are pretty friendly with each other despite being nemeses. they platonically flirt while trying really hard to beat each other up. they Have given each other relationship advice while fighting before. they have literally so much fun. i love them. im going to see if i can find an excuse to write one of their fights sometimes. it’ll be delightful.

I mean mr lancer is a Teacher, but he was also nice but this is different, but this is a GHOST WHO IS WILLING TO HELP HIM with his powers and also will help him when hes injured and is so so nice and comparatively so much more mature than 90% of the adults in this show!!!! god. dad frostbite is my everything.

-the framing and lighting this episode, and all the angles...they went all OUT and it looks really really good. this is my nightmare scenario, tho. like, FUCK zombies and dead city zones and hivemind shit. and using the humans as 'nutrients for the children' i am going to THROW UP.

first creation and most recent creation of 2020: i am not going to link my first one because it is Gross and i do not want to relive it, but it was a love shot set, i really was just throwing some random adjustment layers on there to see what happened and i had no idea what they did and that’s what i ended up with ahfdkjsdh. my most recent creation is an addition to the nct being whipped for winwin series, because really who isn’t a simp for him come on

one of your favorite creations from 2020: there is absolutely no rhyme or reason for me picking this bc it’s so random but i loved how the colors turned out, and they are bubs and i love them and they make me smile hehe

a creation you’re really proud of: gonna try to avoid ones that i linked in my top 5 post, so this one! it’s not my best work or anything by far, but it was the first time i figured out how to download smaller clips of really long videos and got the coloring to look soft and not too extreme. i’m also going to add this one bc it was the first time i tried making gifs of a live stage!! 

a new style you tried this year and a gifset that uses it: i’ve been wanting to try the sparkle trend for a while and i finally had a chance to in my secret santa present! it didn’t turn out exactly how i hoped in the 3rd and 4th gifs, but i think it turned out beautifully on the 1st one with the lights and especially the 2nd one with the snow 🥺

oh my god this is the issue with the many many two-page spreads...the first time I read this issue I didn't realize that was a thing and GOD I was SO fucking confused. there's already a lot going on in this issue/arc but this made things so much worse hvbhjkdfbsk. I powered thru and still managed to understand most of the arc despite reading half this issue out of order (essentially) bc the website I read it on split the pages up and I couldn't tell they were supposed to be doubled (and also I'm dumb so I didn't figure it out)

anyways, the actual issue...windcharger is out here using his powers to rip a dudes arms clean off. wow!

oh man that last panel of trailbreaker holding up roller’s juice box...iirc the first time I read this I thought that was roller (cause of the juice box I guess? idk I'm an idiot) so I was like oh ok he must've come back or something. very much related but I didn't really think about tarn being a particular pre-established character and totally didn't read the whole ‘roller is tarn’ thing that was going on 

which in my defense ruth also didn't pick up on any of that while reading this and eventually like 2 issues before the reveal I had to prompt her like ‘you should maybe be wondering WHO tarn is’ vhbahjksdfbaksjdf

so! issue 37! this issue is a solid favorite of mine, id say definitely top 5 or even 3. I'm super biased bc I fucking LOVE time travel, it’s seriously one of my favorite tropes ever, and this issue hits all the time travel beats I love. characters traveling to the past and interacting with people they know! conversations that have multiple meanings bc of TIME TRAVEL! trying to save someone who meets a terrible fate in your future! fun time travel action! the time traveling characters being generally terrible at hiding the fact that they're time travelers! ITS SO GOOD. 

and I love the clever way everything is tied together here - where we get a nice continuation of shadowplay, with this taking place shortly after that with a lot of the same cast, and time travel classics like the good ole ‘if we hadn't travelled back in time and done what we did, the future we came from wouldn't have existed at all,’ in the flavor of ‘rodimus saving his baby self’ and ‘rodimus NOT saving trailbreaker’ and ‘everyone forgot about roller :(’ 

ok but like, did the lost lighters just go ‘oh well, guess rollers gone now.’ like they DID realize that the outlaw crew would have no idea what happened to him if they got their memories erased, right?? did the lost lighters figure that since roller never reappeared after this time period, that was how history was ‘supposed’ to go and they shouldn't mess with it? am I overthinking it? as usual: yes, probably. I love overthinking about comics, in case that wasn't obvious

some headcanons for canon era

- i feel like some nights during these 4 years of timeskip levi and hanji actually slept together and i mean in the literal sense as in sleeping in the same bed, not in the bumping uglies sense, like when the nightmares got too bad for hanji they would get up in the middle of the night and knock on levi’s door and they wouldn’t need to say anything bc levi knows and he makes way for them in the room and they both lay down in the bed back to back and fall asleep like that just comforted by the fact that they can hear the other’s heartbeat and breathing, they won’t hold each other or touch each other, just them feeling each other’s presence; ofc in the morning hanji is sprawled like a starfish half on the bed and half on levi and he pretends he’s annoyed by it but he really isn’t lmao

- during their monthly/weekly meetings with the press i feel like at some point roy and peaure would actually start to think they’re married?? i mean you have hanji accidentally burning their hand with the hot tea and levi’s immediately dragging them to a sink to run their hand under cold water, or levi smoothing out a wrinkle on hanji’s jacket or fixing their tie, or straight up fixing their hair, cleaning their glasses, or casually hanji leaning on levi during a conversation, them having literal telepathy?? all that domestic shit so one day after seeing levi wiping a pastry crumb from hanji’s cheek roy’s like “ahhh young love! it’s a rare sight nowadays to see a couple being so nurturing towards each other... if i may ask, how long have you been married?” and im pretty sure levi has a stroke while hanji blushes furiously and tries to explain that “NOOOO NONO NO WAIT WE UH WE’RE NOT MARRIED! WE’RE REALLY GOOD FRIENDS! BEST FRIENDS! RIGHT LEVI” but levi doesnt answer his brain is too busy processing the words “married” and “hanji” and “hanji married” “hanji and i married” “marriage” “marriage with hanji”. they like to pretend this “accident” never happened but after that day i think they’d be more aware of their actions around each other? and they’d start to slowly, over the span of four years, connect the dots

- the flashback in chapter 126 doesn’t stop at that “you’re right, i can’t” part, they definitely kept talking more and i feel like at some point during that night levi asked hanji to lay down under the blanket next to him as a way to confess “i wish we could stay here as well” but hanji doesn’t get it, at this point they still believe their feelings are one-sided and their mind is too occupied by other thoughts to really understand what levi means. somehow levi understands that this time hanji didn’t get what he meant and thinks “maybe this isn’t the right moment after all”. when chapter 132 comes, he tries again to confess, playing it off as a subtle joke with the “unrequited love for titans” thing, and hanji starts to ponder on that, but still doesn’t allow themself to insinuate that levi’s words might have a double meaning. then, the thing happens and levi doesn’t want to waste his last chance. he says “dedicate the heart” putting his own left hand on hanji’s chest, he means that he too is dedicating his heart because he and hanji share the same heart. this time, hanji finally understands. just before flying away, they think “i wish i had realized it sooner”.

- okay assuming that the “hanji is alive” theory becomes real, assuming that the war ends and assuming that a cure for the 13 year curse is found, i see levi and hanji living together in a lil house in the woods and having a family but somehow never bothering to define their relationship staus? like the funniest thing to me is them growing old together and being like 80 years old surrounded by their grandchildren when hanji suddenly says “levi,,,,,,,,, what are we” “do u like me by any chance” and levi just thinks “i am way too old for this shit”

Thinking about Veronica Mars. About Veronica/Logan. Do they have a ship name?? But I love that show and i was THERE for them. They were kind of a surprise ship for me, in that when they got together I was like, wait, WHAT? Like I was totally caught off guard. But there first kiss is, like, sooo romantic to me haha. It’s my fave scene in the show. But Logan is suck a prick sometimes. And they break up like every five minutes. And every season Logan gets accused of murder which of course he ends up not being the murderer. And they get back together eventually and I’m like really? But deep down I am rooting for them lol. I really enjoyed the new season of Veronica Mars that came out last year, actually. The ending made me SO SAD THO.

I also used to watch Supergirl and I thought Kara and Mon-El were adorable. He was very Carswell Thorne-esque, RH, I *think* you would like him. I never watched past season 3(?) though, and he shoots off into space and I never caught up so a few months ago I actually googled what happens and [spoiler] he ends up marrying someone else in the future or something so I was like, ok I’m not investing any more time in this show lol. (Also I had to google Mon-El’s name just now bc i forgot which is a bad look BUT I WAS REALLY RIDE OR DIE FOR THEM FOR A WHILE lol). Also I loved Martian Manhunter in this show, he was my favorite character. But the CGI for him was awful, omg. He had practical makeup at first, they should have just stuck with that.

Speaking of Martian Manhunter, I also used to watch Young Justice and loved Miss Martian/Superboy. Am I basic??? lol oop. But I love basic love stories. Anyway, I thought they were super cute. In season 3 though they’re kind of on the rocks. I haven’t watched season 4. I also loved Artemis/Wally West, but of course that had to end tragically.

Also, let’s talk about Nightcrawler. Allow me to set the scene. Little Kat is 13 and just rediscovered the cartoon she saw a few times as a kid called X-Men: Evolution. And thus, a weird obsession with the German, blue demon boy began. I loved Kurt Wagner. In the cartoon he starts a relationship with Amanda Sefton and I thought they were a-dor-a-ble. She accepted him for who he was, and they had a really nice healthy relationship. A lot of ppl shipped him with Kitty too which i am honestly all for idec I JUST WANT THE BLUE BOI TO BE HAPPY.

Can we talk about A:TLA too??? Like, obviously Zutara, amiright? Power couple. Like, Kataang is.. fine, but its probably my least favorite part about the ending, haha. Also, consider: Tokka. Toph is bae and can get anyone she wants, and she clearly had kind of a crush on Sokka and I think they could have been awesome. It actually kills me that they never say who Lin and Suyin’s father is in LoK. I had a whole theory that it was that kid The Duke from Jet’s band based on like 2 scenes from the series. There’s a tumblr post I made about it somewhere in the ether lol.

I also just remembered Tahnorra (Tahno/Korra) from Legend of Korra. It’s hard for me to explain this one. It’s a weird combination of being hyperfixated on the first season of the show when it came out, and I think I stumbled upon some fic or something???? And I thought Tahno was hot or something??? And FUN FACT, he was voice by Rami Malek BEFORE HE WAS COOL. So like before Rami really got big I knew who he was. He also basically played the Avatar in Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 and I thought that connection was hilarious. It was kind of a problematic crack pairing but there was one author in particular whom i follow to this day hoping she’ll update her Tahnorra fics…. *sigh*

Okay one last ship…. I used to be ride or die for Outlaw Queen in Once Upon a Time (aka Regina/Robin Hood). Like, before TLC, I had a personal tumblr renaissance for that ship alone. My only existing published fanfic is for that ship. Taylor Swift’s 1989 came out that year and I related every dang song to that ship. I loved Regina so much and I just wanted her to be happy. That show is a dumpster fire, though, and spat all over my hopes and dreams. *sigh*

This one seems too easy/obvious but Professor Snape? Like obviously there’s already a ton of discourse surrounding this but he was gross, mistreated his students for years, committed atrocities, couldn’t get over his high school crush, and we’re supposed to believe he’s a hero in the end and HARRY WOULD NAME HIS SON AFTER HIM….. uh no. “Always” is gross.

Ross from friends…. I literally can’t stand him. He’s so entitled and just the worst. He tries to act like he’s the nice, sensitive guy, but really he is so full of himself. Joey on the other hand is portrayed as a womanizer but is actually super sweet and I love him

-these Julie and Tami driving scenes are painfully accurate, btw. Love them.
