What are some of your favorite Bunnydoll headcanons (can be from you personally or what you’ve seen in the fandom?
I'm not sure if it was me who wrote about it first or someone else already mentioned it before but the one about Ragatha secretly "liking" Jax's rude behaviour because it makes her look good in comparison. I love that.
I also wrote in a fic that Ragatha likes when Jax takes charge so she doesn't have to worry about him like she does others.
(She finds him hot when he does that, iktr)
The headcanon that he was checking her out at Spudsy's (yessir)
The headcanon that Rags is his favorite but also the one he find the most annoying.
Them being exes and the gang knows and thats why there's tension between then all the time so they're used to it
Orrr
They secretly hooked up once or twice (don't ask me how It's the magic of cinema) and something happened that made them stop, maybe someone hurt the other etc so now they find each other insufferable than before but also cannot look away and nobody knows the true reasons
#I'm not very creative with headcanons sorry#i guess i just like to put them in a 'canon' setting too much?#not a fan of the one where they know each other from before the circus to be honest#but i do like the modern aus#weirdly because i usually hate modern aus#i think jax is a difficult character to write properly#Can't even know if i do#bunnydoll#jax x ragatha#ragatha x jax#winterreplies#Thank you 4 the question <33

I think one thing the fandom needs to realize is that, if Theodore was right about Jax just being too lazy to "try", then it's the WRITERS who are being ableist.
Either Theodore is wrong, or the writers are terrible people, there is no middle ground.
mhm. and while the writing team isn’t perfect, it’s clear that they are making a genuine effort to portray disability respectfully and naturalistically. there are characters with prosthetics across the whole spectrum from villain to hero, none of them are defined by their status as amputees, and one of them is a main character whose recovery arc is complex and still ongoing as she continues to heal emotionally. neo is mute and her backstory novel depicts her father as abusive for demanding that she speak—and not just that, other characters who refuse to engage with her unless she communicates “properly” with a TTS app she hates are also portrayed as cruel, no better than her father. qrow’s and willow’s alcoholism is treated with appropriate seriousness and the narrative never condemns them for struggling, even when exploring the harm their drinking causes to the people closest to them. etc.
and in the CFVY novels, the way theodore and finn talk about jax is juxtaposed against how fox was treated by his tribe—a blind orphan who received love and support instead of scorn. fox’s confidence in himself and his easy comfort with asking for help when he needs it is explicitly connected to his childhood, and the contrast between his healthy self-image and the boiling hatred and shame jax feels toward himself lines up the dots for the reader to connect. (and in case that isn’t enough, it’s implied that finn branded his infant daughter because he didn’t want the sickly twin to be the “true” heir to the mythical family legacy, which… really how much more obvious can a narrative GET about signaling that the father who says “my poor sickly weakling child’s frail little mind was WARPED by his fragility” is, um, not an objective source.)
idk like… it makes no sense to me to read before the dawn as narratively agreeing with theodore’s/finn’s/rumpole’s attitude that jax was just, like, a Bad Seed because being sickly twisted him? that’s wildly incongruent with the way rwby handles disability in general and before the dawn is really not subtle about positioning fox and jax as narrative foils with inverse childhoods. is it so difficult to pick up what the narrative is putting down vis-a-vis jax being a product of his culture and “chronic illness poisoned his mind, so sad” and “he’s just a scared little boy” and “he didn’t belong here, he only held his sister back” and so forth as depictions of that culture’s deep-rooted ableism and not, like, things the narrative intends for us to take at face value.
#but yeah the ‘jax is bad bc he let his disability make him bitter’ reading is. hm#especially when it’s presented like a rebuttal to ‘theodore and finn are ableist’ mfhfjc#ok but that’s worse dot jpg

KH Oc Week Day 6
Day 6~ Life’s Perks
Guess what I have never figured out to write because I live to torture my characters. That’s right, I have no idea how to write slice of life things usually. There’s always got to be a little angst, or I am a fish out of water. But I also love a good challenge, so here we go @khoc-week.
Annora loves to go for walks and pull pranks. And while those are some of her favorite past times, her absolute favorite past time is photography. She has a passion for candid shots of other wielders, whether it’s when they’re fighting Heartless or just relaxing in the town. She has so many pictures of her party members that Skuld has declared it stalkerish. But that doesn’t stop her from taking as many pictures as she can. For her it’s a way to hold onto the memories she makes and keep them with her.
Jax shares many of the same past times as Annora, incidentally. But he is much quieter about them than Annora. He enjoys walking through Daybreak Town and just watching all the people there. However when this treads dangerously close to his day job of gathering information for Gula, he secludes himself somewhere with a view and reads. Fun fact about this, Jax didn’t know how to read until just before coming to Daybreak Town. And even though he knows how now, he’s dyslexic so it can actually be really difficult for him. Even so, he still does enjoy all the stories he can find himself lost in when he has the patience to read.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Holding the camera at just the right angle was more difficult than she would like to admit. She was standing a few steps back from underneath the windowsill, bending backwards so just barely the edge was in her shot. The occupant of the windowsill was unaware of her, eyes glued to the book resting in his lap. He was curled into a tight ball, only a small bit of space between the book he was holding and his chest. Purple hair fell into his eyes, it looked like he had actually taken out the ponytail he usually wore.
Annora took a few shots before slightly shifting her position. Her feet skidded across the pavement, kicking a few stones back. Any normal subject wouldn’t have moved, but Jax’s head snapped up so quickly Annora hardly had time to register.
For a moment the two just stared at each other. Aqua eyes stared into icy blue ones, neither daring to blink. It was in that moment Annora realized just how strange her position must have looked from Jax’s perspective. She was nearly in a full backbend, trying to get an angle that the sunlight would highlight the features on his face.
“Um, I can explain,” Annora said, after the silence had been filled with Jax’s judging stare for far too long. He only quirked an eyebrow in response. Annora sighed, straightening herself out and brushing her bangs out of her eyes. “Right. Uh, would you believe I was just trying to take a picture of the sky with the roof?”
“Skuld’s right,” Jax said calmly, closing his book. “This is bordering on stalkerish.”
“It’s not stalking!” Annora said, dropping her camera so it hung around her neck. She crossed her arms and looked to the side. “It’s not like I’m looking for you guys. I just happen to find you.”
“Still stalkerish,” Jax said. He leaned over a little, looking at Annora more directly. “How can you even get a picture there?”
“I’m flexible,” Annora answered without hesitation. Jax only shook his head returning to his previous position. “I take it you’re going to tell me to get lost?”
“Yeah,” Jax agreed. Annora sighed but nodded. It was not the first time she had been told to leave her muse alone. Kariya and Zia had only tolerated her for a few moments before Zia had snapped. Skuld was for once nowhere to be found, but since Ven was also missing Annora could only guess it was a Dandelion thing. Takiko hadn’t even let her take one shot. He only glared at her from the moment she had appeared. Annora knew well enough to leave before he somehow managed to make her pay for it.
At the very least, wandering Daybreak Town was never boring. As long as Annora had lived in the town she always managed to find something new around every corner. It was a good way to pass the time on days like this when missions were already done, and the party was all doing their own sort of thing. But there wasn’t enough life to make it worth it. At least not for a photo shoot. Annora hated empty photo’s without people to make them interesting.
Reaching the fountain square, Annora sat at the edge of the fountain a heavy sigh. She held up her camera, looking through the pictures she had taken that day. There were a few good ones of Jax. The Leopardus guy who was always wearing a hat had let her take a few shots of him while he did some sort of science experiment in a Moogle shop. While in the gardens she had managed to find Lauriam tending to some of the flowers before he had another engagement. It had been a fairly successful day, but she still had too much time.
“I could always ask Chirithy, I guess,” Annora said to herself. She sighed leaning her head back to look at the sky. She froze, her eyes landing on a young girl resting on the roof of a nearby house.
It wasn’t the first time Annora had seen this girl. It had just been a few weeks ago she had run into her, quite literally. She had been a shy and stuttering mess at the time. Only really speaking when her brother had come and spoken for her. But even then she never spoke to Annora.
Slowly Annora raised her camera, focusing in on the orange haired girl. Her eyes were pointed to the sky, the seawater green reflecting the light perfectly. It would be hard to capture from such a distance. Fortunately the color of her hair brought out her eyes, and her white clothes kept her image simple. With her knees pulled to her chest she seemed even more like a child than most other wielders, but she had to be close to Annora’s age.
It took a few moments for the orange-haired girl to notice Annora. Her eyes widened as her cheeks dusted with a bright red. Annora chuckled lowering her camera again. Of course not before capturing the expression that had crossed her face. Annora stood brushing herself off and walking towards the building the orange-haired girl was perched on. She stopped as close as she could get before the girl was out of her sightline, which was unfortunately not very close.
“Hey, Strelitzia, what are you up to?” Annora asked. Strelitzia’s cheeks only got redder as she looked away, hiding behind her arm. She muttered some kind of response, but whatever it was Annora didn’t catch. She chuckled again, putting her hands behind her back. “It’s ok, I still swear I don’t bite. Wanna come hangout with me?”
Annora hadn’t thought it would be possible for Strelitzia to go anymore red in the face. But once again the girl’s face seemed to turn an even darker shade of red. It was cute. Annora didn’t move, giving Strelitzia whatever time she would need to weigh over the options in her head. Very slowly Strelitzia got to her feet and walked to the edge of the roof and jumped off, landing neatly in the fountain square. She walked to Annora, eyes down at the ground.
“Great, got anywhere you want to go?” Annora asked. Strelitzia shook her head. “Hm, then why don’t you help me?”
“W-with what?” Strelitzia asked, not daring to look up. It was a shame, up close Annora would have been able to properly appreciate the color of her eyes. All the same, it was the first time Strelitzia had spoken to her directly, and that was a start.
“Today’s my party’s day off, so I’m trying to get some good photo’s taken,” Annora explained, holding up her camera to further demonstrate her point. “The only problem is no one seems to want to tolerate me long enough to get many. Think you could be a model for me?”
“M-me?” Strelitzia asked, finally looking at Annora. Once again her eyes were wide, but it allowed for more of the green color to be seen. Her lips were slightly parted, only enough to allow for the subtle shocked look to fall on her features.
“Yeah,” Annora said. She couldn’t make herself look away. “I mean, I did already kinda take a few of you up on that roof. And you’re really expressive. I think I have a great spot in mind.”
“Um, I guess, that’s ok,” Strelitzia said, her eyes again falling to the side. Her arms went behind her back as a light pink dusted her cheeks again. Annora took a few steps back, quickly raising her camera and taking a picture. Strelitzia looked up in surprise after hearing the click.
“Sorry, that was perfect,” Annora chuckled, lowering her camera. She smiled, watching as the pink darkened. “Anyway, come on!”
Annora took Strelitzia’s arm, practically dragging her through the town. Strelitzia stumbled, trying to keep up. Annora could only chuckle turning to look at her as they made their way through town. There were plenty of places she could think to take Strelitzia. To the river through the town under the foreteller’s tower. To the lighthouse and the beach. To the gardens. To the meadow outside of town filled with flowers. Maybe even the cliffs that looked over the entire town. Wherever they went there was one thing Annora was certain of. The pictures were going to turn out perfect.
I will go with the obvious here. 001. fandom - Legends of Tomorrow. 002 Rip/Sara. Rip/Gideon. 003. Captain Rip Hunter.
001 | Send me a fandom and I will tell you my:
Favorite character: Rip. Obviously. XD
Least Favorite character: Sara
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Time ship, that’s it as long as it’s supposed to be romantic. I did like Coldwave in the beginning, until they were ruined.
Character I find most attractive: Evil!Rip
Character I would marry: PHIL GASMER, in a heartbeat!
Character I would be best friends with: Probably Jax. Or Martin.
A random thought: I want season 1 back.
An unpopular opinion: I hope Rip never becomes a Legend again.
My canon OTP: Time ship
Non-canon OTP: Rip / River Song (aka. Time Curls)
Most badass character: Evil!Rip
Pairing I am not a fan of: CC
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Sara
Favourite friendship: Rip & Sara in s1
002 | send me a ship and I will tell you: Rip/Sara
when or if I started shipping it: never shipped them romantically for various reasons, but they are my favorite BroTP on the show. Or, well, used to be.
my thoughts: I don’t think they would work out, Sara doesn’t seem like someone who wants to really commit to a relationship right now and I don’t see Rip as someone who would ever have anything but a very committed relationship.
What makes me happy about them: their friendship in s1
What makes me sad about them: What the writers turned them into in s2.
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: I don’t read Time Canary fic, although I know there is one thing that really more than just annoys me: People shipping them during s1, while Rip was still fighting so HARD to get his family back. Just no.
Things I look for in fanfic: their friendship
My kinks: Sara saving his ass.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Rip with Gideon, of course, Sara with whoever can make her truly happy.
My happily ever after for them: Rip being successful with the Time Bureau and Sara finding her true calling (I don’t believe for a second that she really wants to be a time master).
002 | send me a ship and I will tell you: Rip/Gideon
when or if I started shipping it: Lowkey always shipped them in a way, but not romantically in the beginning.
my thoughts: It’s a difficult ship, especially the way that I ship them. But it’s also very unique and really, really challenging to write and I love that.
What makes me happy about them: Rip hugging Gideon. The sound I made that moment... But also just Rip and Gideon being together and talking.
What makes me sad about them: That they are not together anymore.
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: It’s not so much that it annoys me, but it’s just so NOT my thing at all: Gideon becoming human/having an android body. I don’t need her to have one, I find them so much more interesting together when she doesn’t.
Things I look for in fanfic: Ways for Gideon to show Rip that she cares and vice versa.
My kinks: Gideon saving Rip. (.... I totally have a kink for someone to save him I guess...)
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I’d rather prefer Rip to stay alone and for Gideon... well, I don’t think she’d be interested in anyone else either..
My happily ever after for them: Rip taking his ship back from the Legends and flying off into the sunset.
003 | Give me a character & I will tell you: Rip Hunter
How I feel about this character: He’s a very, very challenging character. I admire him for his strength to keep going, I love him being a genius and I love him even more for being such a screw up when it comes to interacting with people. There are many things about him that I relate to.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Gideon
My non-romantic OTP for this character: (s1) Sara and Rip
My unpopular opinion about this character: I want him to stay as far away as possible from the Legends. I want him to have his own thing with people who appreciate him, who listen to him and who protect him. I want him to be happy and as long as the Legends keep being the chainsaw, he’ll never be able to truly be happy with them.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I would have loved to watch him build the TB. I would have loved to seen him with Miranda and Jonas, like an entire episode just the three of them for us to get to know them. I would have loved to watch him come to terms with what happened while he was brainwashed and to reconnect with the team properly.
My OTP: Time Ship
My OT3: Rip / Gideon / the Waverider
Every episode of season two of Legends seems to have at least one (usually more) joke about Mick's intelligence or usefulness. This didn't happen nearly as often in season one. Each character has done it now, even the genuinely good and kind ones you wouldn't expect this from like Jax, Ray, and Nate. It's not like Mick has been incompetent. He was useful with Washington and in the last episode. Do you think this is leading up to something for when Len returns? Or is it all just comic relief?
No, season 1 was really different. Ray had issues with Mick’s morality but wasn’t so likely disparage his (anyone’s) intellect. Martin was always a dick to everyone in his own special way, but didn’t call Mick an idiot really, certainly not so often or bluntly. Sara had no issue with Mick, it seemed. Jax was always chill with him, barring the whole ‘criminal’ thing. The only one who really put him down as ‘thick’ or ‘IQ of meat’ was Rip, in S1. And even then, Rip would agree with him when he had points (like about Druce wanting to kill Rip in that forest) and defer to Mick’s better judgement without making a huge production of it.
S2, like you said, obviously different. Literally everyone has made comments, or multiple. He keeps displaying an amazing amount of competence and keeps getting shit on for it. From finding them all through history (with Nate, of course, but Mick did the piloting), to defeating a bunch of ninjas single-handedly to actually building rapport with the enemy of the week in the old west (they could have used that instead of starting a brawl omg), to saving Washington (and the United States in the process) to coming up with plans to taking charge and owning it in the Capone era to taking out an entire army in Camelot 3000 with just his mind.
Mick kicks ass.
He’s literally never been incompetent in any way, shape, or form on the team. I’ve been pointing out since season 1 that he’s probably the most skilled of them all (barring maybe Rip) in terms of what their journey demands (here’s a decent overview with in-line links to other posts all about Mick’s skill and intellect).
So… ugh. I’ve complained about it a lot, how the team seems to be incapable of recognizing and respecting that. I won’t link the posts – they’re plentiful though, in my Mick Rory tag.
But I do think you might have a point. It’s been something I’m pondering.
At first I thought they were creating a split-team rift. I thought they were going to have Ray and Mick get close, him get close to Amaya too, but maybe feel more distant from Sara (and Rip, upon return) and maybe Martin too? So that when Len showed back up, Mick was going to have this tension between the members of the team he wanted to protect vs. those he didn’t feel so close with, so that going with Len was a real, genuine dilemma for him. So I didn’t think the comments would really take off with the whole team.
But then they did and now… well, my honest suspicion? They changed the story starting after 2x04. My best guess is that Mick won’t be around next season (Dominic Purcell is vocal on social media about disliking Vancouver and missing his family) and so they realized that the stories they were building with him couldn’t be carried forward. So they swapped major parts of those stories (closeness and budding romance with Amaya, close friendship/partnership with Ray) over to Nate instead (which I argue doesn’t work as well for character dynamics but w/e). I can’t say this is really the case, obviously, but it feels that way if you look at what they were building and then how it started to change and what abruptly got dropped or added.
As a consequence of that, they decided that Mick’s dilemma isn’t going to be so tough after all. He’s going to be crapped on by the team a lot and eventually start to show that he’s getting fed up with it, instead of taking it so much in stride (look at how he stood up to Sara’s orders in Camelot, basically ready to throw down, or how he bent Ray’s arm for poking him about crumbs, compared to how he didn’t mind Rip complaining about his stealing stuff in France in 2x01). So then the dilemma of going along with Len wouldn’t seem like such a difficult decision. He’s going to go with Len, hands down. He’s under-appreciated by the team and he’s going to peace out.
Wishful thinking version? The team is going to realize they’ve made a grave mistake and end up in a dire situation and Mick’s going to cave enough to help save the day, and then he’s going to be done for good with the Legends and return to Central City with Len. In a perfect world, they’re then going to use some of the knowledge and skills (and allies, like Reverse Flash) they’ve gained in order to really start the Rogues. The Rogues become a major part of Flash season 4. My crops are watered and my skin is clear.
I mean, it’s a little far-fetched but that’s how I would write it, personally.
More realistically, they’re still going to show some serious dilemma for Mick and the team aren’t ever going to be properly reprimanded or remorseful over the shitty way they’ve treated Mick, and the writers are doing it at least a little for the sake of humor, because a lot of those lines have seemed like they’re trying to be comedic (unlike Rip and Mick’s blowout with the pirates), even if they fall totally flat.
But eh. At least for one moment, someone recognized his value.
#mick rory#legends of tomorrow#legends of tomorrow season 2#speculation#fan theories#idk#but i hope it's not all just for comedic relief personally#because it's seriously not funny#ableism#lot commentary#Anonymous
