hi i'm back to terrorize all of you with more boyfriend!yeonjun thoughts :D vacation edition!!
boyfriend!yeonjun who whisks you away to another city for an impromptu surprise vacation, all expenses paid by him and refuses to hear it when you beg to at least let you pay for half..."i want to spoil you, so just go with it, please?" he begs and you eventually give in...several sugar-coated kisses and one shared milkshake (from a retro little diner that you two stumbled upon as you walked around) later ^^
boyfriend!yeonjun who drags you out of your hotel room at odd hours of the night to explore the city without the hustle and bustle of other tourists tripping around,, convinces you to take cute couple pictures with him so that he can post them later because he wants to show you off to the rest of the world (his words, not your own) <3
boyfriend!yeonjun who unabashedly stares at you as you're walking around hand in hand, adoring how the lights above create pretty little galaxies in your eyes...you catch him at one point and ask him what he's doing and he just grins and delivers a cheesy line about how he's just lost in your eyes, and though your face grows warm despite the cool air, you silently reach over to shove his beanie over his eyes with a smile instead of responding
boyfriend!yeonjun who excitedly drags you over to a park when he spots a swingset, gentle hands on your waist as he sits you down and steps around the back of the swing to push you...his cackles mix with your exhilarated squeals as you propel higher and higher into the air, shrieking that you're gonna fly off,, and when you finally are able to stop yourself, you're a little dizzy...yeonjun only serves to make you even dizzier when he leans down to press his lips against yours, a hand holding onto one of the chains to keep himself steady above you ^^
boyfriend!yeonjun who you find yourself slow dancing with in the middle of the empty park, a muffled slow song that you both love playing from the phone in his back pocket...he can't help but pull you closer when you shiver, savoring the way you snuggle further into him, a dopey, lovesick grin pulling at the corners of his lips as he presses your cold nose further against his neck
boyfriend!yeonjun who makes this vacation your best yet, all while deepening your love for each other with each step that you take and each secret, intimate moment that you share <3

Chapter 4:
"Do you think she's fairing well?" Wooyoung steps over a pile of debris, slipping closer to him. "The others are taking care of her?"
"What is with you and this woman?" Yeosang glances at him. Wooyoung's fingers are outstretched, his hand slipping into his with ease. The latter says nothing to deter his touch, knowing it's something that calms him. "Do you desire her?"
"Yes," Wooyoung shrugs. "But that's not the only reason. She's simple but different. She can't fall for my tricks because I can't manipulate her mind. Everything she says to me is genuine. I can't help but want her to want me. Is that wrong?"
"She is a human, nothing she says is genuine. Have you forgotten what we are?" Yeosang pulls Wooyoung closer as he steps over a fallen trunk. It's not too old – it may be no more than a few days since its demise. He places his palm against the trunk, whispering a spell before turning back to him. "Unseelie aren't kind to humans. And she will find out that you were the one who killed her lover, Woo. I doubt she'll take that well."
"I'm not going to tell her that," Wooyoung waves him off. "Besides, the male was so boring. She'll be much more entertained by our spark."
Yeosang holds up a hand, stopping him from speaking. Leaves crunch in the distance, Yeosang whispering a spell unto his free hand and pulling Wooyoung closer. He holds his breath, watching as the faeries appear in the small meadow. The spell he has cast only lasts for a few minutes or so. He can only hope that neither of them linger. The Seelie stay close to each other, rapid words exchanged.
"The human is resistant to faeries? How can that be?"
Neither of them speak, but Yeosang can feel how Wooyoung's shoulder tenses at the words.
"Yeonjun told us. He tried to penetrate her mind but she did not blink. Not one human on this Earth could stop him from entering their mind. She is the sole being."
"Then did he take her?"
"Not yet, not until he catches them off guard. Tonight he set the example, though. I doubt the Unseelie will be able to fight back after that mess. Bodies are everywhere."
Wooyoung’s eyes widen. He presses his hand against his mouth, closing his eyes to control his anger. His body trembles beneath the low light. Hongjoong instructed them that it was a brief mission, no bloodshed. But would he have guessed that the Seelie would cause their own to be deceased? Yeosang's hand grabs the side of Wooyoung's face, forcing him to look. Yeosang merely shakes his head, mouthing words.
Do not lose yourself.
Wooyoung nods slowly, taking slow breaths. They've missed a bit of the conversation.
"He will get her? That is his goal?"
"His goal is to hurt Hongjoong. Nothing else matters besides that. The human is just another body is his way."
They disappear from sight. Just as they do, the Unseelie bodies shimmer, appearing back in focus of onlookers. Wooyoung falls to the grass, fingers digging into the dirt. "They plan to kill my sunlight. My solaris. They will rid of her and we aren't there to see what they've done. We have to go back. We have to –"
"We aren't done, Wooyoung," Yeosang shakes his head. "Just a few more days. Hold on for a few more days."
"They've killed faeries, Yeosang. What if they killed one of our spark? What if Yunho–"
"You know they haven’t. Don't let yourself fall down that hole. We already have enough unstable mates, I don't need another one to fall apart right in front of me. Don't delude yourself like this," Yeosang ignores his words, sighing. "You would have felt it, Wooyoung. We are bonded. We would have felt the tear."
Wooyoung takes a long breath, "You're right. I need to calm down."
There's a pause as he stares. For a moment, he thinks that they should go back. For his peace of mind. Instead, he moves forward, hand reaching back. Without a moment's pause Wooyoung’s fingers slip into his, letting Yeosang guide him through.
Seonghwa wipes the floor. The stench is always overpowering. Each time a Seelie dies they leave behind such a putrid smell. A bit funny, considering how pure they are meant to be. He reaches for the knife you dropped, pausing. The look you gave them. It was like it was not you at all. He has grown used to the annoyance you've shown them, the fear when their words turned sharp. But not that kind of fear, terror. The glazed look. As if you didn't know who you are, what you were doing. It eerily reminded him of how Yunho loses himself sometimes. Seonghwa picks up the weapon, whispering. It cleanses itself at his words, harshly throwing itself back into its spot. Hopefully for good.
Jongho helped you off the floor, nearly carrying you to the room because you were so out of it. Hongjoong stared as you stepped out of the room, an unreadable expression on his face. There was nothing to be done then. Nothing they could speak about when you couldn't even think clearly. But Seonghwa just didn't like the look on his mate's face. Didn't like the slight gleam in his eye. In that moment, looking back now, he wonders if asking Hongjoong what he was thinking would change anything that’s soon to come.
He stands, flicking his hand to let the cleaning supplies pick up the rest. He sits at his table, eyeing the book he was reading once before. Seonghwa considered that you weren't a human. But he pushed those thoughts away. Assumed that he was thinking too far ahead. But now, seeing how you killed a Seelie? A human, killing a Seelie without any help? There's no possible way you're just a human.
He just has to figure out what you are exactly.
"You've been locked in here for hours."
Seonghwa barely gives Mingi a glance as he enters with hands tucked in his pockets, knowing the Unseelie would only try to calm him down. Or get angry with him, it depends on the day. "Hiding from us won't make our minds calm."
"I'm trying to figure out what's going on. Having you all speaking over each other in confusion and anger will only taint my thoughts."
"You used to find comfort in the chaos. It looks like you avoid it now. And continuously buy those toys of yours."
"You didn't have a problem with my figurines before," Seonghwa frowns.
"And I still don't now. I just can’t help but wonder why we can't be that safe place for you instead of plastic."
Seonghwa looks up from his book, finally meeting the eyes of his mate. Dried blood coats his face and clothing, white splatters burned into the fabric. He can see how his body trembles, bottom lip pulled back between his teeth. His chest tightens at the sight. Mingi lets their combined emotions affect him often. No matter how much they all insisted that he let them deal with it on their own.
Seonghwa closes his book. "You're upset."
"I want us, all of us, to be okay. But it seems like danger follows us no matter which path we take."
He sighs. "If you want us to get rid of her we will."
"I don't want that, hyung."
"Then what? What do you want me to do?"
"I want you to talk to us. Tell us how you're feeling. Stop hiding in the laboratory or library or the forest. At least try to let us in. Do you know how long it took me to calm Yunho down? I don't even think I have, he just stressed himself out to the point of exhaustion. I'm –" Mingi runs his bloodstained fingers through his hair. "I'm stuck. And I'm tired of pretending I'm okay with it all. I listen to Hongjoong's words even though I question them. I guard what you all want me to guard. I kill who you want me to kill. But I just can't stand around and accept it anymore. How long must I pretend to believe that everything is okay?"
Seonghwa watches Mingi's facade break, his rambling continuing on and on. He cannot believe he didn't notice how much it affected him. Sure, he was thoroughly involved with you, but that's no excuse to not see when one of his mates is falling into themselves. He covers his face with his hands, not bothering to wipe the blood off.
"Yunho is so lost, Seonghwa. I've seen him gone, but not like this. Not this much."
"I can talk to him," Seonghwa says softly. "You can be there too. And any of the others. Would you like that from me?"
“Yes,” Mingi murmurs. There seems to be something else in his voice. Mingi isn’t one to hide his feelings, so it comes as a shock that this is even a conversation at all. So Seonghwa continues to dig.
“And I’ll figure out how to persuade Hongjoong to take a more careful route. How about that?”
Relief seeps into Mingi’s face, nodding slowly. “I would like that.”
“Everything will be fine, Mingi. We just have to take it all one step at a time,” Seonghwa says softly. “If you’re ever bothered, I’m here. We all are.”
Mingi continues to nod, thinking. “And the human? What if we have to kill her?”
Seonghwa looks at him, unable to answer that question. Despite it being mere months since knowing of your existence, he can’t justify killing you now. Not when he is so involved with you, along with the others. Mingi seems to know the answer without Seonghwa saying anything at all. So he sits beside him, watching his mate continue to flip through the endless amount of research he has done.
After a couple of minutes, Seonghwa closes his research. Mingi watches him curiously, a box appearing on the table instead. A bit cheeky, Seonghwa places several smaller boxes of toys in front of him. Mingi picks up one, a photo of an assortment of plastic flowers branded to the side.
"I planned on gifting these to you all after I build them, but I think it'll be more fun to build together with you, don't you think?"
Mingi looks at him. He never really shares his hobby with anyone else in the spark, maybe San once in a while. Him opening up and allowing Mingi to intercept his time only makes his heart swell with glee. Mingi nods, sitting down at the table.
"It'll be fun," Seonghwa grins, slipping next to him.
The silence is draining.
You sit in the middle of the bed, knees tucked against your chest, head sitting on top. Mind utterly blank as you’re desperately trying to figure out why, how. What strength do you have to just murder a Seelie without help from one of the others?
You can remember the looks on their faces when they entered. Blood stinging your eyes, knife barely held between your fingers. The indiscernible face of the Seelie beneath the weapon. It didn’t look like one at all, not even a creature. Just a pile of parts. You try pushing those thoughts away, even if the image is burned in your mind each time you blink.
“Do you take us for fools?”
You barely give him any indication that you heard him at all.
“Now you pretend not to hear my words?”
“I’ve done nothing to you at all so I’m not sure why you’re even speaking to me,” you admit, glancing at him from the corner of your eye. His arms against his chest seem to cement themselves in place at your words. Him being furious with you is on the absolute bottom of your list. You haven’t even properly introduced yourself and he’s already pegged you for someone he can walk over. You’ve already been through it with Mingi. You’d rather not deal with it again.
“Your presence is threatening our position.”
“If you let me go none of this would have even happened. How is it my fault?” You frown.
San scoffs. “What a nuisance.”
“Look,” you finally turn your head, meeting the eyes of the angry Unseelie. “You can hate me all you want, but I didn’t choose to be here. Go and get pissed off with someone else for all I care, but not me. I’d rather be at home than dealing with all of you.”
“You would be home by now, but it is unsafe. I could care less, frankly. But the others do.”
“Better than dealing with a room full of strange people,” you murmur.
“It is crawling with faeries, human. If you even step near it, you will be killed. Leaving our premises might as well be a death sentence. But fine, go ahead. I doubt you won't last more than a minute outside of our borders," he turns around, giving you his back.
You don't dare test his harsh words. There's no way to prove that he's exaggerating or not, so you just settle it for yourself that it must be true. You can't help the thoughts that linger; Is Soobin okay? Would they attack him if he decided to show up at your house one day? Has he entered town at all? Have your parents tried to contact you? Why hasn't anyone noticed you're gone? There's no reason to ask San because he would just give half truths. Something you're very much used to.
You hold your fingers against your temple, humming softly. It's not enough that you're staying here. You'll only be ridiculed by one of them. Frankly, you miss Wooyoung being around. At least he was a comfort in between the angst. And what was his name… Jongho? Though your interaction was brief, he was kind to you. Calmed you down in the slightest bit. His words of comfort as he led you to this room helped.
"Do you know what you did to that thing? Why I'm standing here now? Do you even realize what it takes to take down a Seelie, human?"
"No, I don't. And my name is y/n, not human."
San stares at you. You weren't afraid of him since you've met him, but there is something in that look. Something that makes you tense. You truly doubt he would kill you at mere words. But he could kill you if he wanted to. That thought is enough for you to drop your attitude, at least for now.
"Taking down a Seelie requires strength unlike humans. Majik, unwavering strength. Mental fortitude. You have to know how to kill one, our flesh isn't as soft as a human's. We haven't been killed by one in centuries. So can you see why we're cautious of you?"
"I do," you sigh. "I do, but I don't even know how I did it? It's… there's nothing there. Nothing. When I try to think of it it's like it didn't even happen. I just remember entering the room, then Seonghwa came in and opened the door. And I had a knife in my hand. That's it."
"Why did you say what you said?" San asks.
"Say what?"
"You held the knife in your hand, you looked at Jongho. Then you said you didn't mean to. You looked terrified despite the situation. As if you didn't just kill one of the deadliest beings on this planet."
"I don't know."
"You have to know."
"San, I don't know."
Just as San steps forward your bedroom door opens. Expecting someone else, maybe Wooyoung, Mingi stands there. His eyes flick between yours and San, narrowing slightly. He nudges to the door as he looks at him. San's arms drop from his chest. He seems a bit hesitant. Mingi gestures toward the door again.
"I don't want you to be alone here with her," San murmurs.
"She won't hurt me."
It's as if you're not there at all. San continues to resist, until Mingi rests his hand on his arm. It's enough for San to nod slowly. He squeezes his arm, leaving the room. Mingi shuts the door behind him as he leaves, turning to you.
"Sleep."
"Sleep?" You repeat, and he nods.
"Sleep. We have a long day tomorrow. Yeosang and Wooyoung won't be back for days. But when they do come back, they'll have news. And we'll need to be prepared for that."
"I don't understand."
"Human," Mingi says sharply. "I get it, you're incompetent and unintelligent. But you do understand the language I'm speaking, no? You haven't the slightest idea what you have done? Did San not explain the danger to you? You killed Beomgyu, y/n."
Another name that continues to mean nothing to you. Mingi's frustration grows.
"He is a high Seelie. One of the most powerful faeries on this Earth. And you killed him. Now sleep. We must prepare you for what is to come."
He leaves.
You stare at your hands. A few cuts are slowly healing, scabs covering the wounds. None of them have mentioned the night. Not even San, as angry as he seems to be watching you roam around their home. Hongjoong hasn't been seen by you either. Very likely locked in that laboratory of his, experiments continuing. Mingi and perhaps Jongho, are the only two who've either greeted you or joined you in rooms. Yunho, despite how worried you are, hasn't showed up since that night. Mentioning it to Mingi wasn't the greatest idea – the painful look in his eyes made you switch the subject immediately – but you just want to know if he's okay. You saw that Seelie drag him away and there was little you could do. You ran, and he could have been killed. The least you can offer is an apology. Guilt ridden, you look up from your hands.
Mingi holds out the wooden sword to you for the nth time today. With great exhaustion, you take it from his hands. He scoffs. "You will be given a break if you knock it from my hands, human. It shouldn't be this difficult."
You hold back your frustration. "My leg is still messed up. You're taller and faster than me. How could I –"
"Use your size as an advantage. I've told you this endlessly."
"You haven't given me an opening!" Your voice rises, dropping when you see the quirk of his brow. "I just need an opening," you murmur.
"Fighting a Seelie who's trained since birth to kill won't allow for an opening. You have to defend and attack. Each time I raise my sword you freeze. You will die if none of us are around."
"I survived before."
"And you have yet to understand why or how it happened. You're at a loss just like the rest of us. Don't be foolish. Fight, because your life will depend on it."
You step back from him, planting your feet into the grass. Mingi holds no weapons in his hands. Just as you still forward Mingi flicks his fingers. Your body hits the ground again, and this time you don't bother trying to get up, groaning. "You're an ass, by the way. Didn't you all say those powers don't work on me? How can you just throw me to the ground?"
"Our influence does not work on your mind, y/n. But we can still move you. You just have to learn how to resist just like your mind has. Once you master that, we can move to true combat."
"I don't know why you can't mess with my mind!"
"Another reason why you have to stop using your pity as an excuse and help yourself. Stand and try again," he holds out his hand.
"She will be dead from exhaustion before she has even learned it," the snarky tone is one you wish you'd never hear again. Mingi stands up straighter, hands moving behind his back. He bows only slightly at the newcomer. "We have to move quickly. It is only a matter of time until one of them decides to penetrate our majik. Do you not agree?"
"I do," Mingi says simply. "But I thought you were with Yunho today."
"Jongho is tending to his care now. I've come to watch you train. By the looks of it, it only seems like torture."
You slowly lift yourself from the ground, dusting off your clothing. Mingi does not bother helping you up and neither does Hongjoong. Your legs shake as you stand, turning to Hongjoong. He rests against a fallen tree. Arms crossed, same mischievous twinkle in his eye. His gaze roams over your body, stopping when he sees the disgusted look on your face.
"What a weak, little thing. Too bad we can't just get rid of you." His fingers pull back his hair. The exhaustion riddled on his face does not move past you. All of them seem tired and drained from what's been happening. Yourself as well, body aching and limbs throbbing from your brief encounter with the Seelie you've killed. Killed.
You'd never in your life peg yourself as a murderer. And yet here you are. Gathered around many of them, yourself included. At this point you have no right to judge.
"I've already said what I needed to to you," you murmur, turning back to Mingi. "Again." You step forward and he lifts his hand again. This time you fall forward, his arm stopping you from hitting the ground head first. You push it away, straightening yourself. "Fuck this."
"You have to train–"
"I can barely walk straight and all we're going now is creating more and more bruises. What are we achieving? How have I gained anything in the past few hours?"
Mingi's brow twitches. "You haven't tried."
"I don't know if you remember but, I am a human. I can't just learn to be as strong as you by being battered over and over. I won't suddenly be able to fight against you."
Your frustration grows as you look at Mingi, a blank gaze watching you back. It's like he can't even hear what you're saying, no matter how you phrase it. Hongjoong clears his throat, distracting you.
"She's right, you know. I want you to train her. Not mangle her up to the point of her being unrecognizable." He glances at you. "y/n, do you not remember the night at all? Not a sliver of memory? It would make this all easier if you did."
"No, I don't," you say firmly. "If I did, I wouldn't let myself be thrown to the ground over and over again."
Hongjoong shrugs, "Then that settles it all, no? Mingi, change. We will be dining together shortly. Human, you do the same. Seonghwa will see you after this."
"What for –"
Hongjoong disappears from existence entirely, leaving Mingi and you alone. He steps around you, grabbing the wooden swords scattered about on the ground and placing it back in its holder. Just as he goes to leave, he turns back. "You don't seem to understand the situation we are under because of you. I've advocated for your death but everyone wants to keep you around because of your resistance to us. I hope sometime soon you find yourself useful, or I'll be the one to end your life."
There is no chance for you to twist his words, nothing that would make you believe anything other than what he's said to you. He speaks firmly and straight to the point. Very unlikely the rest of the Unseelie you've met. There's no room for interpretation. You nod, and he leaves you alone in the training field.
Ignoring the throbbing in your legs, you make your way back to the house. Despite how open it is, it’s only a facade - you’re not sure if you’ll ever be able to leave. And now, knowing how much danger you’re in, you doubt you even want to.
Jongho appears through a doorway, holding a book in his hand. His gaze meets yours, flicking over you. “Are you okay?” He glances down at your leg. “Not much time has passed since you were all mangled.”
You snort, “As good as I can be.”
He joins you promptly, the two of you walking down the hall. It’s funny - his presence feels more welcoming than the others. Softer eyes, smaller smile. Nervous maybe, but still. You’d describe it as comforting.
“What are you reading?” You ask. He looks down at the book.
“San gave this to me. It’s about faeries from human tales. It’s quite interesting. Tinkling bells is my favorite,” he adds, “Ever heard of her? Apparently she’s really famous.”
“Tinker bell?” You correct, and he sighs.
“Right, Tinker bell.”
“Yes I have,” you grin, and he nods. “Why’d he give that to you? He seems like he hates humans, doesn’t seem like the type to want to learn about us. From what I’ve seen,” you add. “He avoids me every chance he gets.”
“San is…” Jongho pauses for a moment. “He protects us fiercely, yes. He hates you now because he thinks you’re a threat. But once Seonghwa figures out why you’re the way you are, things will change. It’s silly, you're slowly falling into our hearts, so he will protect you as he protects us sooner rather than later. And he enjoys human entertainment a lot. I'm sure once he gets over himself you two would get along well.” His words are easily said.
Falling into their hearts?
“You care for me? Some of you do?” you stop walking. Jongho freezes, grip on his book tightening.
“I’ve said too much,” he says quickly. “They will be angry with me,” he sighs, looking down the hall. Seemingly making the decision on his own, he turns back to you. “Yes we do care for you, y/n. Why do you think we fiercely protect you? It is not only because we’re curious about your nature. We’ve known you for a while now. Even if all of us haven’t really officially met you. We are bonded. Our care lives within us all. Mostly Wooyoung’s fault,” he scowls. “He’s stuck on you.”
“That is the spark thing Yunho mentioned to me, right? It's like a pack.”
Jongho nods, “Yes. Once we’ve chosen to be in our spark, we are glued to each other. If one of us is hurt we all know, if one of us feels strongly about something, we all feel it. So that’s why it’s so easy for us to find your presence in our lives… normal? Ordinary? I’m not really great at human words.”
“No no,” you wave off his last sentence. “You speaking to me like this is enough. And you’re very eloquent, Jongho. No need to doubt.”
His lip quirks slightly. “I can see why they’ve grown fond of you. But yes, that’s why. Ah, but more importantly,” he digs into his pocket. A rock appears in his hand, similar to one Yunho gave you at the masquerade. “Yunho asked me to place a spell on this. To monitor your health, nothing more.” He says quickly. “I cannot lie.”
“...Thanks,” you take it, staring down at the surface. “Is Yunho okay?”
He bites his lip, “He’s recovering. But it’s best if you stay away until he’s fully himself. That’s what he asked us to do. I’m sorry I can’t say anything more.”
“You’ve said what you’ve needed to, Jongho. Thank you. I’ll see you at dinner?”
He bows slightly, walking past you and out of sight. You hold the rock tightly, making your way back to your room.
Seonghwa doesn't come to lead you to his lab for a few weeks and that you're grateful for. Rarely have you gotten the chance to be alone. Dinner that night was uncomfortable to say the least. Silence mostly. Three seats empty. Jongho gave you small smiles and it was enough to help you get through it. But still - the future of you dealing with them watching you with caution is not one you’re yearning for.
The door to your room swings open, almost cracking against the wall. Before you can even turn to see who it is, your breath is knocked out of you. You hit the floor, well almost, he holds you up with his hand before you land. Wooyoung almost squeezes the life out of you as he holds you close, body trembling.
“You’re okay,” He whispers into your shoulder. You grip his sleeve to pull him off, and he leans back, eyes flicking over your face. “You’re okay?”
“Yes, I’m fine. You can let me go,” you tug on him again and this time he does, helping you off the floor. Your body throbs at how he threw himself at you, bruises from whatever happened with that Seelie that night throbbing. “I see that you’re back.”
He grins, “Of course! I’ll always come back for you. I had to see Hongjoong first to report,” he rolls his eyes. “He told me to stay away from you since we don’t know what you are, but how could I leave my solaris alone?” he tilts his head, taking a small step toward you. Without thinking, you move back.
He frowns, “Solaris?”
“I’d rather be left alone, Wooyoung.”
He scoffs, brows furrowed. “What do you mean? Ah, is it because of what happened a few weeks ago? You don't need to worry, I know you won’t hurt me.”
“That’s not what I’m worried about,” you murmur.
“What are you saying? Don’t you know that I won’t hurt you?” It’s different from when you first met him. The snide grin, the teasing gaze. All replaced with seriousness, perhaps a bit of worry.
Are you sure of that? You know what they are, what they may or may not have done. None of them have even told you how they feed, how they hunt for their next meal. You could tell whenever they eat in front of you. The reluctance to take bites, the side glances they gave one another. You can fairly easily presume that it’s through horrid means. You’ve seen enough blood splattered around to be sure of that, at least. But will they hurt you?
Will he hurt you?
The silence must have been filling up the room too long, Wooyoung’s face dropping as he waits for your response. Would saying no be lying? It seems like each time you do lie he immediately knows. So, despite the hopeful look in his gaze, you tell him the truth.
“I don’t know that,” you whisper.
His body physically deflates, hands clenching and unclenching at your words. “You’re not lying.” It’s a statement, not a question. He closes his eyes for a moment, a breath escaping him. “I won’t hurt you, solaris. I won’t. Just as I trust that you won’t hurt me.”
His words ring as true as he means them to be, but yet… you can’t bring yourself to believe them. No matter how much you know that Unseelie cannot lie. “Okay,” you say.
“Why are you treating my words as if I’m lying?”
“Unseelie are sly.”
His eyes narrow. “I’m not lying about never hurting you, y/n. That’s not something I’d skirt around. I. Won’t. Hurt. You.”
“You say that,” you start, glancing at the open doorway. It would be silly of you to believe that you’re truly alone. All of these men you’ve met so far eavesdrop on every conversation in their home. “You say that, but if Hongjoong or Seonghwa told you to hurt me you would do it. Even if you don’t want to.”
“They wouldn’t ask–“
“But you don’t know that for sure, do you? You believe it now, but tomorrow, they could change their mind about me. What if San didn’t like my presence around here anymore? What if Yunho told you my time was up? Would you defy their words and save me? Would you?”
He stares at his hands, saying nothing.
"What if I hurt one of you like I did to that Seelie? Would you just stand by?"
"Don't say idiotic things."
"Then stop lying to yourself, Wooyoung. You do not care for me like them and you never will. Stop trying to force yourself to like me because I'm different. I don't like you, okay? I don't. So stop prying, and stop making yourself believe that there is something here when there's not."
Wooyoung stands up, shaking his head, "How could you lie?"
"For fucks sake–"
Wooyoung steps closer to you, your body sinking further into the seat. He places his hands on either side of your shoulders, eyes darkening. "You lie so easily. Why? Why do you do it?" His fingers slowly tighten. It's not enough to bruise you or hurt you, but it feels uncomfortable. If seconds continue to pass, he could just as easily break a bone.
"Let me go."
"You think we are mad? You think I am mad for caring about you? Do you have any sense yourself?"
"Let go, Wooyoung. You'll bruise her if you continue."
You look over, Mingi leaning against the doorframe. His expression is still as always, though now it rests on Wooyoung's grip. He seems to push through his thoughts, hands gone from your body. You stand up and move farther away. Closer to the entrance of the balcony. Wooyoung stares down at his hands, body trembling.
"Sorry," his tone is tight, looking up. "I got carried away."
“Hongjoong told you to stay away.”
He glances away, “I know.”
“And yet here you stand.”
Wooyoung looks at him, “Mingi –”
“Go. Before you make this worse for yourself. I won’t ask again.”
Wooyoung’s shoulders fall. He turns to see your expression but you’ve already given him your back, leaving to stand on the porch. Whatever commotion is happening behind you you’d rather avoid. Your heart hurts too much. He isn’t lying, you care for him. And you hate that you do. They’re Unseelie, beings that took you from your home because of curiosity. How could you care for them? How could you miss Wooyoung? The cool breeze hits your cheek as you slide open the door, sitting on the small stool resting against the wall. The night is clearer now that he’s back. You hate even more how the solid rock of worry in your chest is subdued since you’ve seen him. He was so close to hurting you, barely seconds away.
So why the Hell do you want to tell him it’s okay?
“He lets his emotions get the best of him,” the deep voice of Mingi fills the silence. He leans against the doorway, staring out into the night. “That’s why Hongjoong told him to stay away for a while. Though I doubt it would help that much, his excitement to see you would have only grown.”
“He cares too much about someone he doesn’t know,” you say.
“That I agree with,” Mingi nods, humming. “But you should be saying the same to yourself.”
“I don’t.”
“Human, we are Unseelie. We’ve witnessed your kind lying for centuries. I can read that expression of yours with ease,” he glances down at you. “I’m not hovering around you to pass the time. Since Yunho cannot do it right now, I’m here to watch you. Just say my name and I’ll be here. Though it is my fault right now that I didn’t come when I heard about Wooyoung and Yeosang walking around.” He rubs his face, “What a headache.”
“Thanks,” you say, looking back at the landscape. The moon is hiding tonight. “He didn’t want to listen to me.”
“Because he’s delusional,” he snickers. “Not wrong entirely, but trying to force the answer from you is very… silly. You’re welcome.”
He says nothing else and neither do you. The fear of him being around has subdued, whether it be from him getting used to your presence or not, you’re grateful. Walking on your toes is exhausting enough as it is. From the first training session to now, the two of you have grown closer. Laughs exchanged, quieter moments. None uncomfortable. Enough so that you would consider him a friend, along with Jongho. Despite this, you can't help but let your thoughts wander. It's been so long since you've seen people you actually know. One in particular that you hate you cannot get out of your head. You already have things to deal with on your own.
“You look like you have a lot on your mind,” he starts, closing the door behind him. He rests on the chair adjacent to yours, sitting down slowly. Ah, so he plans on staying around for a while. “Letting that weight continue will only break you in the end.”
You shrug, “It’s nothing.”
“If it was nothing you wouldn’t look so uncomfortable right now. It’s fine, I’d rather not push,” MIngi says. “But I know from experience that keeping it to yourself is not good. I may not be as comforting as Yunho or Jongho, but I’m a good listener.”
Is he? His kindness doesn’t feel fake. Still, you’re wary of his motives. After a couple more minutes of saying nothing, you push past your fear.
"I don't want to hurt anymore," you stare at your hands, watching as they tremble beneath your gaze. "I'm so tired of hurting so much, I'm tired of caring so much. He left me. He promised he wouldn't and he did. He left me, Mingi. He…" Your fists curled into themselves. "And the more I think about it the more pathetic I sound. I've been through that moment over and over again, trying to figure out what I've done, what I didn't see. But I was faithful to him, I did everything for us. I wasn't selfish. I loved him with everything that I have. And he still left me alone. Just like everyone else does. And I can't even ask him why he did it because he just left. He's gone."
A slow breath drags from between your lips. "And here I am, talking to an Unseelie about it. You probably think I'm pathetic or –"
"You keep using that word," Mingi narrows his eyes, thinking. "Pathetic. Like it's pathetic to feel emotions strongly. You know that you're allowed to feel, right?" He leans over, covering your outstretched hands with his. He’s warm. "I can't calm down your heart or tell you it will be okay, because I am just an Unseelie. We don't give empty promises. But what I can say is that you're not pathetic. His absence hurts. And you're allowed to be hurt. But you are not pathetic, y/n. Do you understand?"
There is some hesitance. Slowly, he reaches out, hand hovering over your cheek. He places it, flattening it against your skin. You warily lean into his palm. "You are not pathetic, okay?"
Eyes closed, you nod. "... Okay."
"You don't believe your words," Mingi frowns.
"Saying it and believing it are two different things."
“I told you to not lie when I can tell,” he says sharply. There’s no malice in it, frustration perhaps. But not anger. He pulls his hand away from you, standing. “Get some sleep. We’ll start again tomorrow.”
He leaves you alone on the porch. You tuck your knees close, the breeze chilly against your skin. You don’t realize it yourself, but that brief moment with him turned things for you. For some very strange reason, your thoughts no longer rested on your ex. Instead, they lingered on them. On everything that's happened since you've arrived.
They lingered on Mingi.
Seonghwa still hasn’t taken you back into his lab. You sit in the living room on a loveseat, eyes glued to the rest of the Unseelie. Most are here except Yunho and Seonghwa, speaking to each other about various things. San and Yeosang entwined on the seat across from you. His arm wrapped around the waist of Yeosang, words soft and quick. Almost too intimate for you to look at longer than a couple of seconds. Jongho flipping through pages of another book he has, likely given to him by San. Mingi beside him, eating an apple as he stares at nothing.
And then there’s the last two.
The feeling is subtle, at first. Hongjoong and Wooyoung laugh together. Hands roaming along each other's arms, legs entangled as they show each other the potions they have created. Annoyed glances filled with fondness. It is something that you've lost since Soobin left. Affection, especially around others, was never something he quite enjoyed. Sure, holding hands or embracing for a moment. But never this – effortless care. Whether it be from embarrassment of townsfolk noticing the two of you, or uncomfort. But watching them as an outsider just makes the feeling rise, chest throbbing. Ah, now you understand the feeling.
Envy.
"Hold this," You jump. Mingi touches your own hand with his fingers, dragging yours open to place a gray stone on your palm. "It will help that heart of yours."
Your hand closes around it, brows furrowed. "Is there something wrong?"
"You tell me. I could hear it from across the room. Thumping away."
“Thanks.”
He merely nods.
“y/n,” Jongho calls from the other side of the room. Pauses in conversation stop for a moment as he walks over, book held out to you. You take it from his hands, glancing over the words. You quickly recognize it as the Giving Tree, a novel read to you when you were a child. Jongho looked furious as he stood above you, frown only deepening. “It can’t just be a stump at the end.”
“Isn't it devastating?” San says from his spot. “I knew it'd bother you.”
Jongho turns to look at San, a scowl crossing his lips. “I wanted an entertaining tale. You gave me a book about a selfish human child.”
San shrugs, “Maybe it would finally let you let me borrow some of your things –”
“Absolutely not,” Jongho sighs. “You see what he does? He's just a nuisance.”
“Well it's one of my favorite stories,” you say, flipping through the pages. “Unconditional love with a price; hoping that it's returned but it never really is.”
“A silly story,” Mingi murmurs, but he takes the book from your hand, humming as he walks away, Jongho following close behind him. You could hear his low voice grumbling something about his book being taken away. Your eyes look over to Yeosang and San. This time, San stares at you. There isn't exactly any anger in it now, but an emotion you can't pin. It's unlike anything you've ever seen from him.
“They always bicker,” Wooyoung says, glancing back. “Don't worry too much about it solaris, a little fight won't hurt them.”
Well you aren't exactly worried about it. You don't bother responding to him, sinking yourself deeper into the couch.
“y/n.”
His smooth voice speaks through the air. Avoiding his gaze would only cause his irritation to grow, so you look at him. He holds a knife in his hand, peeling off the skin of an apple. He looks at you as he does so, taking a small bite.
“You're allowed to go.”
Everyone in the room looks at Hongjoong. The expressions range from shocked to confused. Hongjoong ignores them entirely, taking another bite. “After Yeosang and Wooyoung completed their assignment, the threat was subdued. Of course, you could have left weeks ago. All of us just needed to be sure it was safe. We put a spell around your home. No Seelie would be able to enter. No faerie can visit you aside from us. I thought you'd like to know that you can leave at any time. We would need you from time to time, but now, there's no immediate threat. And even if there were, you'd be able to take care of it better now.”
Yeosang leans up from his spot, “Hyung–”
Hongjoong holds up his hand. “Any further discussion can be done privately. y/n, leave when you'd like. None of us will stop you. And if they try,” he looks at Wooyoung as he says his next words. “They will be dealt with.”
“This isn't a joke?” You ask, slowly standing from your spot. The thought of finally being in your own home, your own place – you didn't realize how much you've missed it until this very moment. Hongjoong nods, and you would hug him if he weren't Hongjoong. Instead, you leave the room promptly. They all watch you go, presumably to your room to grab your things.
Wooyoung shakes his head, “Hongjoong, our mission wasn't successful. We did nothing to deter the Seelies. They'll come for her when they see we're not around.”
“You think I don't know that?” Hongjoong frowns, chewing slowly. “Seonghwa hasn't made any progress and Yunho cannot do experiments right now. We have no use for her other than entertainment. And wouldn't you rather our home be free of humans? Or has she hooked herself so deeply into your body you can't live without?”
“I want her,” Wooyoung whispers. “Why would you send her away?”
“She doesn't love you,” Hongjoong snorts. “It'll be a pity if you continue to delude yourself.”
“A bit harsh, hyung,” Yeosang says, moving out of Sans embrace. “If you spoke to us prior he might have been able to prepare and take the news well. Instead–”
“You know my thoughts. She was never going to stay forever. You all know this.” He passes his half eaten apple to Wooyoung, stepping around him. “I must inform Seonghwa. Discuss amongst yourselves, but it is done. She will be gone.” He waves, tucking his hand in his pockets.
Yeosang wastes no time in moving close to his partner. He can see his body begin to crumble, irises trembling at the news. His arms wrap about his mates, whispering quiet words to him.
“She's leaving, Yeo,” Wooyoung grips his shirt.
“She's leaving me again.”
You shove your clothing into your bag, quickly trying to pack up enough. Hoping that Hongjoong doesn't change hid mind about this. All you've known for a few months now is this mansion, this home that is and never will be yours. Being free, cord snapped, feels so … exhilarating. Never have you felt so much enjoyment to go back to that silly little down and the old bookstore. Resting on your hard mattress – ecstacy.
The bitter feeling burns your throat. Leaving them behind after knowing them for a while. Your heart hurts, to say the least. Though you kept your eyes on Hongjoong’s face as he told you the news, it wasn't only to digest it. It was to keep yourself steady, keep your thoughts solid. If your gaze ever wavered, looked over at one of the others – you would have thought twice. And if you let these thoughts stay for a while longer, you would have stayed. And that realization is enough for you to run out of here without looking back. No goodbyes. No greetings. Nothing that would make your feelings pause.
No one is in the hallways as you walk through, bag tucked beneath your arm. You step outside, rain splattering against your cheeks. As if the forest is mourning your departure. You hold your jacket above your head as you walk down the path. The feelings are too much for you to try and decipher right now.
You were in a loving relationship that ended and Soobin disappeared, leaving just a note behind. Whatever feeling that's dwelling within you right now is not what you think. You're just heartbroken, and lonely. And they're here.
It's nothing more than that.
The rain spills over the sides of the jacket, splashing against your skin. You flinch as it enters your eyes, strands of your hair sticking to your face. Just a few more steps, a few more and you'll be out of here. You won't have to see them again. You'd be free of faeries. You'd finally let go of these strange feelings.
"Won't you let me take you home?" A shimmering cloud rises from the darkness. Wooyoung conjures up in front of you, arms crossed against his chest. You stop on the path, a sigh escaping your lips.
"The bus is fine."
"Waiting for it in the downpour? What if it's late?"
You maneuver around him, frowning, "Then I'll walk."
"You live ten kilometers from our home." His footsteps follow close behind you. "And it would be safer to be with us."
"I need to get in a workout, anyway."
“You can wait a while.”
“Wooyoung,” you step over a pile of rocks. “Hongjoong told me I can go. Stop trying to stop me from leaving. This is my choice.”
“I'm not trying to stop you, solaris. I know this is your decision. But I can't help but wonder. Is it because of that estranged boyfriend of yours?" He asks, appearing in front of you again. "Is that why you're hesitant to stay over longer? Worried you're committing adultery?"
"He left me," you say through your teeth. "He has no hold over me. And I wouldn't be committing adultery since we were never married."
"Then why are you afraid of your emotions?" He tilts his head, pouting. "You care and yet you run. Everyday you spend with us you pretend to not care for us. Is that just something humans do? Run from the emotions they feel?"
"I don't have time for this Wooyoung."
Wooyoung steps closer, your foot stumbling over the saturated grass. He catches you with ease, arm hooking around your torso, pulling you close to his chest. His face is barely a breath away from you. Just as you're about to tell him you're fine, his grip tightens.
"How long will we have to wait?" His tone is soft. "For your shame of loving Unseelies to fade away?"
"I don't –"
He hums, shaking his head, "Ah ah. Don't you remember? I can't lie." He leans forward, lips hovering just over yours. "I hope we can stop playing pretend one day, my pretty solaris. I hope you can see how easily we shine together. Because I am very much drowning in my affection for you and desperately clawing for a reprieve that only your confession can grant. It is a bit pathetic," He steadies you, face pulling away from yours. The warmth of your body consumes you from his touch. If he notices it he does not mention it. He bows.
"You better catch your bus or else I'll truly have to keep you to myself," his lip lifts, gesturing in front of you. He dissipates into the night, your hurried steps running out the forest and onto the bus. There are very few others on it as it drives off, your eyes flicking out the window. For a moment you think you see the shimmer of gold between the trees.
-
“I told her you would come for her. And now that she’s gone, we’re delayed on our experimentation.”
“I said I couldn’t do anything right now without Yunho,” Seonghwa explains simply, flipping through his pages. “I’ve told you this countlessly but you chose not to listen. And you decided to let her go, not I.”
“The humans were noticing her disappearance along with her old mate,” Hongjoong pauses. “It would have brought us great exhaustion if they continued questioning what happened. I had to let her go for now.”
“Then there’s that, are we done with this conversation?” Seonghwa glances up from his research, looking across to Hongjoong. He sits on the seat that you used to occupy whenever you entered the laboratory, fingers dragging along the armrest. Somehow the action annoyed him, brow furrowing. “Hongjoong?”
“We haven’t seen you join us for dinners.”
“I’ve been occupied.”
“Occupied enough to not show your face?” He tilts his head. “I’m sure she desired your presence as well, but you’ve hidden yourself in here. What could be the reason why?”
He’s prying. Seonghwa sees it, knows he’s itching for him to tell the truth. Having a back and forth with him is the last thing he wants right now, head throbbing at the thought. So he sighs, shaking his head. "My mind isn’t itself. I want her so desperately, it's making me unreasonable, makes me want to be by her side," Seonghwa grips the desk, thinking. "This is a new sensation for me."
"This is what happens when you've rejected every advance I've given you your whole life," Hongjoong sings, hanging on the edge of the seat. "And now all you want to do is feel her around your cock because you barely fuck anyone."
The familiar warmth coats his cheeks, looking away from Hongjoong. "How vulgar. No wonder the others don't speak to you about these things."
"Is it not true?" His brow raises. "I saw as you watched her hold the knife in her hand. Her soft, human fingers wrapped around it so tightly. The way she looked for help, her lips," Hongjoong sighs, falling back into the cushions. "If I were her partner, I'd never move close to faerie territory. Why risk someone so delectable? Because of a silly dream of yours? Quite stupid."
"You're too horny to think straight. And you're only enchanted with her because she does not fall for our usual ploys. And now even more since she isn't as human as we once thought."
“I am only interested in power, Seonghwa. And she is the epitome of that. And…” he scoffs, "Me? Horny?" In the typical Hongjoong fashion, he picks at only one portion of the conversation. "You're the one clenching the table in the middle of a woe is me moment. You can barely stand straight," Hongjoong's eyes flick to his slacks. "Better take care of that. And besides, she will enjoy us."
"Saying it does not make it true. Our hands are tainted. Hongjoong. Once she finds out that we have ruined her life with her partner, she will despise us. We are tainted. Do you not see it? All of your sweet nothings, soft words to her will not work. None of it will work. There not passes a day where she does not mention him."
"But she desires us, no?"
"She does," he admits. "But she yearns for him much more. I fear there will never come a day where she does not. It is like… it feels like she is one of us. Once we choose a mate, we will never move on from it."
"She's a human."
"As far as we know, yes. But Hongjoong–"
"That means there's a chance that we will change her mind," Hongjoong murmurs. "We can change her."
"Is it wise? Shouldn't we just… leave her?"
It's as if Hongjoong does not hear at all what Seonghwa is saying, brows scrunched in thought. He looks at his mate, swallowing. "We can change it Seonghwa. She will never move on from him unless he comes back and tells her he doesn’t want her,” Hongjoong murmurs, eyes flicking across the patterns in the rug. “And he was killed before we could force him to do it.”
“There’s no going back,” Seonghwa concures.
“I agree, there’s not. But we can do something so her mourning period ends quicker.”
“And that is?”
A strange look crosses his face. "I need Mingi."
His eyes widen slightly, “Hongjoong, we shouldn’t.” Just as Seonghwa raises his hand and begins to whisper, Hongjoong dissipates in an instant, leaving the eldest alone. Seonghwa lets go of the table, pacing back and forth. He can handle this. You're just a human, nothing more. He can handle this inane desire on his own. He can handle what Mingi is going to do. Even if his own thoughts seemingly cry out to run to you, to take you as his own. He can push past that. He grabs his research, flipping through.
Seonghwa stared at the book in his hands, his eyes wide with disbelief. He had read it over and over again, but he couldn't believe what he was seeing. There, in black and white, was the answer to the question that had been haunting him for months.
He had always known that you were different from other humans since the first moment he caught your eye. You had never been truly afraid of him, even when he had first revealed his true nature to you. You had never been seduced by his beauty or his power. You had always seen him for who he was, a faerie, and you had accepted him anyway.
But now he knew why you were different. You were immune because you were not a faerie nor human at all. He had never met another being like you before. He didn't know if there were others like you out there. He didn't know if you were the only one. He didn't even know that these creatures existed. He assumed it was just folklore.
He ripped out the page, pinning it to his board. The word stands out, bold and underlined.

How I Met Your Father (Pt. 1)
Yeonjun x Reader
Words: 2.3k
Part One Genre: light hearted fluff
You were already running late for work. You didn't look or feel so good, and you were going to call out sick if it weren't for your nearly empty refrigerator.
Looking up at the digital signs at the metro station, you squinted your eyes to read the moving letters. You sighed upon finding out that there was maintenance scheduled at a stop right before your own. You'd either have to take a bus the rest of the way or walk to work from there, and with the dark impending clouds of doom, you didn't think that walking was much of an option.
Shuffling around in your bag, you failed to find your umbrella, remembering exactly where you had left it and groaning internally.
The next train was due to come around in around 5 minutes, so you stood there, shivering a bit at the cold. You tried to remain positive, the day not really starting off well for you. Despite having a rather uneventful desk job to look forward to later in the day, you found solace in the fact that you'd be able to stay seated in a warm building.
Feeling a but bored and awkward, you pulled out your phone from your jacket pocket, accidentally pulling out your keys, noticed by the sound it made when it dropped to the ground a foot away from you. Sucking your teeth in annoyance, you bent down to pick them up, only for a stranger to unknowingly step over them, moving them a bit further from you.
"Hey-" You frowned, and they turned back, apologizing before continuing on their way. You shook your head and bent down to pick them up again, only now noticing that they were a bit too close to the tracks. One of your biggest fears were falling onto the train tracks and getting stuck there, so you always managed a far distance, but getting your keys would require you to be a bit too close to the train that was coming now in one minute. "Oh..." You said to yourself. You wouldn't fall. Just a quick snatch of your keys, and all would be fine.
It was a rational solution for an itsy-bitsy problem, but were you still scared? Of course.
Someone must've noticed your hesitation, their hand swooping down to collect your keys for you. Before you could yelp in alarm at you being possibly robbed, you looked up to see the person banding your keys to your with a smile.
Damn.
He was a looker. Black shiny hair, a foxy smile, sparkling eyes, and a put together appearance. Not too often you'd see a person this good looking.
Sheepishly smiling back, you took your keys from him, mumbling a thank you.
"You're welcome." What a smooth voice. That was all of the interaction before he went back to his own business, but now you were painfully aware of his existence just a few feet behind you. Was he looking at you? Did he think you were weird?
The train finally appeared from the darkness of the tunnel, and you were glad, remembering how you had to get to work, and quickly.
Once the train stopped, you waiting for a crowd to get off before you stepped on, noticing that all the seats were taken. Just your luck. The train car was filling up fast, and you grabbed a pole, keeping your bag close in front of you. You guessed that a lot of people had to get to work at this time as the car crowded up, forcing you to be shoulder to shoulder with others.
Despite your very visible discomfort, someone decided to place themselves face to face with you, and you looked up to see none other than the handsome man who helped you with your keys. You made eye contact and he awkwardly smiled before you quickly looked down, eyes widening for a split second.
How did you get in this position, and why was it starting to get hot underneath your coat?
The train started moving with a jolt, and you were already embarrassed as you bumped into him, quickly mumbling an apology.
This day must've been cursed. You knew the ride was going to be bumpy and you had only hoped that he wasn't going to the same stop that you were going to.
Holding on to the pole for dear life with your leg muscles stinging from trying not to bump into him, you kept your head down, looking at your feet. There wasn't one moment that you were chill, and there wasn't going to be one the more the guy was standing in front of you.
Not expecting the particularly rough start after a stop, you fell onto him, releasing both hands from the pole you were holding to somehow catch yourself. He quickly wrapped his arm around you, both your hands flat against his chest.
Quickly noticing your position, you scrambled yourself back up, an apologetic look on your face, worried that you might have hurt him.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, are you okay?" You asked him, and he chuckled.
"Don't be, it's alright." He said. "Are you okay? The rides a bit more rough than usual."
"I'm fine. Sorry, I keep bumping into you."
"I don't mind it." He said with a smile just as foxy as the first time you saw him. A little embarrassed you said nothing more, instead over thinking about how he said he "didn't mind it". He doesn't mind you bumping into him, or he just wants to reassure you? I mean you didn't really mind bumping into him either, but you were sure he didn't mind in the way you didn't mind.
He smelled of citrus and mahogany, a calm and refreshing scent that made you want to plunge onto his chest again and maybe stay there for a bit. These thoughts were not safe to think while he was in such close proximity and your stop wasn't for another 10 minutes, but did you have anything else to do?
You found yourself looking down at his shoes. They were black and shiny, probably expensive as well. He seemed to work a professional job, as seen by the peak of the grey suit underneath his long black peacoat.
You looked up from his suit to his neatly tied tie, every edge and fold of his suit neat and ironed. There was not a wrinkle in sight and there wasn't a hair out of place.
You hadn't noticed that he was watching you damn near examine him until you looked at his face and saw him looking directly at you with a smirk.
"I take it you like the suit?" He asked, and you awkwardly laughed.
"Sorry." You looked back down.
Shit! That was embarrassing. You were only two more stops away from where you had to get off, and you didnt even know if you could manage it.
"Don't be sorry. I have to dress to impress today, so it's nice to know that someone likes it." He shrugged.
"Ah..." You nodded your head. You wanted to inquire more about it, like what he had to do today, if today was important for him, was he going to make it on time due to the upcoming maintenance. But...you didn't want to seem nosy, so you just shut your mouth. Small talk wasn't your forte, and you'd only embarrass yourself. Again.
With the train pulling up to a station about 25 minutes from your workplace, you hopped off happily. Going up the subway stairs, your happiness was quickly dampened once you felt heavy raindrops fall upon your heard.
"Shit!" You grumbled to yourself, looking for cover. You had hoped that it wouldn't rain, but alas, here you are. Looking around, you noticed a bus stop on the corner, the last of a crowd hopping onto the bus. You widened your eyes once you noticed that that was the bus you were supposed to take. "Wait!" You yelled out for the bus driver, running to the stop. Did he see you? Did he care?
Apparently not, because the bus doors closed promptly, and with an annoying screech, the bus started on its way, right before you could get to the stop.
"Shit, shit-" You brushed your wet hair back with your hand in frustration, breathing heavy from the running you just did. You didn't know when the next bus would come, and you had to clock into work within the next ten minutes. You would have to walk.
"Ah, did I miss the bus?" You heard a familiar voice and a black umbrella hover over your head. Turning around, you noticed the man from the train. Was he following you? There's no way you could coincidently bump into him three times, already.
"Oh, uh, yeah." You sighed. "Do you know when the next bus might come?"
"Usually, the busses are about 20 minutes apart." He said, also seemingly a bit frustrated.
Furrowing your eyebrows and looking at your watch, you looked on the direction you'd have to walk, mentally preparing yourself for the way you'd get drenched in seconds.
"Are you, by chance, uh, walking to your destination?" He asked.
"Yeah," You shrugged. "I don't have much of a choice, anyways, I've got to get to work, and it's not too long of a walk."
"Surely, you don't plan on getting drenched in this cold rain," He frowned. "I'll walk with you. We're going in the same direction, anyways."
"O-oh, you don't have to worry about that, I'll be fine-"
"No, no, I insist." He said, a genuine look in his eyes. You paused for a second then sighed, chucking breathlessly.
"You've come to my rescue more than once today. Big thanks." You said, suddenly turning hot again. Big thanks...? Could you possibly get any more awkward?
"Only doing what feels right." He smiled. "Let's go," He said, nudging his head towards the direction.
The walk started off pretty silent. It felt like you were trying your hardest not to bump into him with every step you took, keeping your hands neatly folded in front of you, and staring straight ahead.
"So, if you don't mind me asking," He started to speak, slightly startling you. "What do you do? You said you had to get to work, I'm hoping they're not too strict." He laughed.
"Oh, I just work in sales." You shrugged. "My management isn't too strict with us, they'd understand my tardines. I just wish I would've been able to catch the bus."
"Ah, sales..." He nodded. "That's one thing we have in common."
"Really?" You smiled, looking up at him for a split second. "It's not the most awesome job, but I get by...oh, and thank you so much. I didn't realize exactly how much I'd appreciate an umbrella right now."
"So, you were really planning on walking to work in this rain? You're stronger than me, I could never." He laughed.
You shrugged. "Walking in the rain wouldn't make my day any worse than it actually is." You regretted saying that the moment it flew out of your mouth. Now he probably thinks you're about to trauma dump on him like no other.
"One of those days, huh?" He sighed, slightly tilting his umbrella more towards you, effecting blocking the rain from hitting your shoulder.
"I-I mean, it's alright." You chuckled nervously. "Your help surely makes it better so far."
"Good to hear." He said, smiling dorkishly. Cute.
The rest of the walk was quiet again, yet this time it was a bit more comfortable. You hadn't noticed how wet he was getting until you approached your building, feeling apologetic, as if it was your fault.
"This is me." You said, facing the tall, glass building you guys approached. "Once again, thank you so much, I really appreciate your help today."
"No problem." He smiled, closing his umbrella. "Also," He handed you the umbrella, and you just looked at him, confused. "You can keep this."
"Oh, no, that's okay, I couldn't-"
He gently placed it in your hands, anyway. "Don't worry about it." He laughed. "Maybe we can both use it again when we finish work today, hm? How about dinner? I know a great place down by the river."
You raised your brows, surprised by his forwardness.
"A-are you asking me out to dinner? With you?" You asked, just to make sure.
"Well...hopefully with me." You could tell he was starting to get a bit sheepish.
"Sure!" You said with a smile, still taken aback but pleasantly so. "I, uh, I get off at around 6 today, so I'm free after that."
"Okay, awesome!" He said. "I'll wait for you down here once you get off, then. See ya, pretty." With a curt wave of his hand, he turned around and went inside the building, you following him unknowingly before you stopped in your tracks, eyebrows furrowed as you watched him walk towards the elevators.
Then it dawned on you. "Oh...OH!" You exclaimed and you heard him laugh, back still turned as he went on about his way. He worked here! How did you not know that?
Eyes still wide as you stood there in the middle of the floor, you quickly brought out your phone, no longer caring about how late you were. Bringing up your best friend's contact, you furiously texted her about every single thing that happened this morning.
Your heart beat at a thousand miles, the smile never leaving your face as you made your way to the office, thumbs still gapping away at your phone.
What you thought was going to be a horrible day swiftly turned into a day you'd never forget, with the promise of what you only hoped to be, a good date around the corner.
‐-------
AN: OMG YAY GUYS! I finally finished something! I did it while I was working lol, but I wanted something a little light hearted and cute, and I'm surprised I managed to finish it. I think it's a good step to getting out of my writers block! I hope you guys enjoyed this, and let me know if you want a part two. I already have an idea for what part two can be and it's not as cute and lighthearted bcs Yeonjun makes me feel NSFW things and I like writing abt them lolol.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN • DONE (1.6k)
Minho sits solemnly on his couch in dim lighting. The window is open, a light breeze moving the thin curtains ever so slightly. He has no recollection of how he got here, only that one minute he was staring into that damn mirror, and the next he was lying in his bed face down, blood trickling from his nose.
There were only a few moments for him to acknowledge the change in scenery before someone was pounding on his door, shouting his name. He hoped it would be you, but when he opened the door he was face to face with old friends.
"Wha- Hyunjin? Yeji?" He takes in their appearances, noticing the changes since the last time he'd seen them, now a couple of months ago.
Explaining what had happened was priority, sitting Minho down to reveal they'd been in and out of this other realm trying to find you after you'd left. As far as Minho knew, Yeji was the only one to know your location, but apparently that was a lie. You were smart, not telling a soul, knowing anyone could help him trace you no matter how close you'd been.
And now you were here, hugging him tightly in the doorway of his house.
"How the hell are we here?" You ask, barely containing your nerves. "I was in that place with Yeonjun and he forced me back here, but I don't know how. None of this makes sense. Why can't I just have peace? Why won't he let me forget him?"
"It's not supposed to make sense," Yeji says, closing and locking the door after Hyunjin.
You detach from Minho, confused. "What's not supposed to make sense?"
"All of this!" You flinch, and Yeji takes a deep breath to calm herself. "Whatever Yeonjun has been doing, he's messed with reality itself. Fiction has started to blend into our world. Soon enough, we're not going to be able to tell what or who is real or not."
"How are we so sure he's in control?" You think of the rooms, the bodies, the way he and you were connected.
Something isn't adding up, something else is at play here and you intend to figure out exactly what that is. Nothing has been going right and you are sick of it. Thunder claps in the distance, but you don't shrink down, you don't move. You walk right up to the damn window as rain pours down from the dark sky and you open it, feeling the drops hit your cold skin.
You are not afraid anymore.
You are angry.
-
"Why are you doing this?" Chan winces, trying to get to your side, but the pain radiating through his body is too much.
"If I can't have her, no one can." Yeonjun crouches, meeting Chan's eyes. "Real or not, you stole her from me, and I'm going to make you pay."
Another shot of pain goes down his body, crying out with his eyes squeezed shut. Head throbbing, remaining limbs numb, all he can do is think of you. Where are you right now? Are you safe? Is Jeongin with you? Questions and fears run through Chan's brain at the speed of light.
"Still thinking of her as you lay here dying?" Yeonjun tilts his head to the side, observing Chan's writhing body. "Interesting. She really succeeded in making you love her."
"She didn't- she didn't make me do anything," Chan grits out.
"Really? Because from what I know, that's the whole reason for your existence." Yeonjun stands, walking over to your body. He lays a gloved hand over your arm. "You don't really love her, and you could realize that if you join me in restoring the timeline. The one where she marries me and you're left behind, but you'd have control. You could love who you want, not who you were forced to."
"I would never do that," Chan breathes. "Never. Could never betray her like that. Like you."
"Betray her? She betrayed me." Yeonjun moves his hand away from you, clenching it into a fist. "You can't understand because I chose to love her, and this is how she repaid me."
"Love," Chan gasps. "Love isn't a transaction. No 'I gave you this, so you should give me that'. No wonder she left-"
A boot to the face shuts Chan up, rolling to his back. Using the hand he still has, he brings it up to his bleeding nose and mouth, lip split, and bone no doubt broken. He hisses at the contact, letting his hand drop back to his side. His breathing is constricted as Yeonjun wraps a hand around his throat, forcing him up onto his knees, breathing constricted. The only thing keeping Chan from falling back down is the strength Yeonjun uses to hold him up.
-
With a groan, Jeongin lifts himself out of bed. Around him is familiar; his room when he first moved in with his grandparents after the accident. The walls are bare and the bed is too small, wind whistling through the attic. He looks down, still dressed in the stark white clothing from the other realm. Head swimming, he stands up slowly, using the angled wall for support as he makes his way to the hatch. His descent is quiet, footsteps light as he passes where his grandmother must be asleep.
Everything is a hue of blue, cold and unforgiving. No photos hang on the walls like they used to, no trinkets are found in random places. Personality has been stripped from this house, only the bare minimum in its place. The stairs creak slightly under Jeongins feet, and he uses the side of each step to minimize noise. Although he isn't certain his grandmother is here, he doesn't risk it.
Outside snow falls, decorating the streets in white. Winter is beginning, roads slick with ice and the temperature dropping every day. When he exits the house, he isn't cold, even with the flakes hitting his bare skin. The streets are empty and no lights are on, eerily quiet as he walks on. Jeongin doesn't know where he plans to go, only that he needs to keep walking or something very bad will happen. He passes the café, but it isn't a café. In its place is a boarded-up building with broken windows, sadness spilling from within.
He needs to get inside.
The boards covering the door come off easily enough, a splinter or two here and there, but it doesn't hurt. His muscles don't ache from the force needed to pry them off, his back doesn't hurt from the one time he slipped backward. Behind the boards, the door is locked, but with one good kick, it comes right off the hinges.
"Stronger than I look," Jeongin mumbles, stepping over the piece of wood.
Just like his house, there's nobody and nothing here. It doesn't resemble the lively café Chan owns whatsoever, dark with a strong, musty smell lingering. Jeongin brings an arm up to his nose, feet guiding him up the staircase to the abandoned apartment above. Unlike below, this does look like Chan's, down to the chipped coffee cup left on the counter.
Down below, Jeongin can see someone staring back at him through the window. He startles, then squints at the figure, trying to recognize them but their face is blurred from the dirty glass. Wiping a spot clean, he looks down again, but they're gone.
"What...?" He places a hand on the window, scanning the empty streets for a sign of life.
Jeongin.
His head whips around to the dead apartment.
Little fox.
Something touches his neck and he looks back toward the window, backing up suddenly when he sees the large crowd of people, and right into something solid. It grabs him from behind and he struggles and yells, panic consuming him as they push him hard through the window and down, he's falling down.
-
Rain comes down in heavy sheets, threatening to drown you standing up as you walk out of the house and down the street. You don't know where you're going, only that it's where you need to be. Behind you, Minho calls your name, keeping a safe distance between you in your anger. The storm rages on around you as your own red, hot feelings rise the longer it takes to get to where you're going.
"It's not safe out here!" Yeji yells, jogging up to your side. "We need to get back!"
"I'm done hiding!" You stop walking, grabbing Yeji by the forearm, making her face you. "I'm done feeling small and letting him control my life when he's no longer in it! Time and reality are fucked because he can't handle rejection! Because he can't handle the fact that I'm becoming my own person again!"
Your voice is desperate, needing her to understand. "I need to be my own person again."
A beat passes before Yeji nods, wet hair plastered over her forehead falling into her eyes. You reach out to move it out of the way.
"I'll be okay." You pull her into a hug. "I'll be okay."
You let go and she's stuck to the spot watching you leave her again. Minho passes, but she places an arm on his chest to block him.
"What are you doing? She can't be alone-" Yeji shakes her head. "Yeji, let me go."
"Or what?"
Minho's jaw clenches and he feels another set of hands holding him back; Hyunjin. They won't let him go, won't let him follow you as you disappear into the night.
"You know something," he clues in, blinking.
"We have to let this happen," Hyunjin's voice is barely heard over the thunder.

[🎈] the music of surprise [🦊]
[!] this is for the 1k followers mini fics. click here to find out more! ✿ pairing: yeonjun x reader / idol!txt / non.idol!you / fluff / 899 words / unnecessary beomgyu slander (I'm SORRY) ✿ request: [music] + yeonjun (for our muses to sing / play instruments) ✿ note: i tweaked it (winkwink) slightly differently for this one! [main masterlist 🌸] / [event masterlist] / [tag: #qqtxt: 1k]
Tumblr media
being in a relationship with someone who sings and raps for a living, meaning that oftentimes, the microphone went to him instead of you. when it came to instruments, he's the one excited to see it and even more to see your fascination and adoration when he serenades you at any given moment he has. now, not that you have a problem with that considering you love, love love listening to yeonjun sing or rap but imagine the surprise on yeonjun's face when he's taken a short break out of the recording room, only to return to see you fiddling with the guitar and your singing sending the shivers down his spine?
"you can sing?!" yeonjun didn't realise he was going to be so loud, but apparently he was to the point it made you jolt away from the guitar as he closed the door behind him. "junnie!" you chuckle nervously, attempting to put the instrument down but he's quick to kneel before you, gently pushing the guitar back onto your lap, "you never told me you could play..."
you see the admiration in his eyes as he peers up to you, hopeful that you'd continue whatever you were doing before and you can't resist it when he's looking at you like that. you sigh and shake your head, keeping your hold on the guitar as you lean back into the sofa, "i mean... i used to play a while back but it's been a long time since i played. i came here to visit you but you weren't here so while i was waiting i figured i could just..." you attempt to put the guitar away again, only for yeonjun's hands to carefully reappear to put it back onto your lap with a wide grin.
"could you play for me? sing even, if you're comfortable?" yeonjun asked so sweetly, that it felt like a sin turning him down. you're remembering all the times you couldn't fall asleep and yeonjun would hum a familiar, calming tune. sometimes it's a song you know, sometimes it's something foreign but it still manages to lull you to sleep. the only time he had ever heard you sing was during a belt-out karaoke session with the boys or your friends, even then he thinks you sound amazing (either that or he really, really loves you). so... what could it hurt?
you stable the guitar on your lap with an elbow keeping it in place, extending your pinky out to him to–"promise you won't judge me? i'm not a singer by profession so technically, i am allowed to be shit."
he laughs and shakes his head, but reaches out to lock pinkies with you, "never. i'll never judge you. now, please?" he lets go of your pinky so he can sit on his legs as he looks up at you, retrieving a pillow on the side as he hugs it, waiting in anticipation.
the thing that happens next is what completely makes yeonjun fall to his knees for you even though he's already on them. you're hesitantly feeling up the guitar, then, your fingers start strumming a tune of a lullaby he sings during difficult days that embeds in his mind. la vie en rose. it was simplistic, romantic... and yeonjun thought he couldn't love you more than he already did. he didn't even know one of his hands had unfolded from hugging the pillow, resting on one of your knees as you started to sing. it's soft, a little whisper-like but it echoes in yeonjun's ears and aims straight for his chest until he's holding onto his breath; afraid that if he breathes, he'll break this trance of being able to listen to you sing, let alone play the guitar whilst doing so.
you manage until the first chorus and promptly stop when you look up to see yeonjun pressing his lips to a thin line; features a bit unreadable for your liking that–"i-is it that bad?"
"bad?!" his eyes bulges, hands tossing the pillow so he can kneel up to grab you by the face, "baby, you can sing! how did you hide this from me?!"
"you've heard me in karaoke..."
"that's different and you know it. you singing here like this and screaming to bang bang bang with beomgyu is different."
you snort, finally able to put the guitar away and yeonjun half-drags you onto his lap, joining him on the floor despite the multiple chairs and sofas around you. "can i listen to you sing again sometime? you sounded really good," he murmurs, planting a kiss on your lips before pulling back to see you getting shy at the attention he's showering you with. your shyness doesn't last long when you squeeze yeonjun's shoulders, looking up to meet his gaze when you ask: "am i better than beoms?"
"oh, by a mile. consider him out of tubatu and replaced with you," yeonjun says without a pause. it makes you laugh, leaning forward to hug him and bury your face to his neck as he holds you. he can tell you're still growing to the thought of singing to him again or playing the guitar around him but maybe with time, one day, you'll be comfortable to do whatever you want around him and that's what gets yeonjun to smile as he nuzzles into you, staying like that for a while.

ᥫ᭡ 투바투 ── reaction to you being close with another member
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ꜝꜝ🍓 pairing. txt x gn!reader genre. fluff, angst, crack warnings. swearing (?) wc. 100-200 each
ꜝꜝ🍓 synopsis. how txt feels about you being close with the other members
ꜝꜝ🍓 a/n. back with another reaction cause writing is hard 💀👎 hope you enjoy !
Tumblr media
𖤐 YEONJUN
i think we can all agree that yeonjun is the type that get's jealous pretty frequently 💀 he just wants your attention to be on him and him only at all times 🫶
of course he was ecstatic that you got along so well with his friends and how they basically adopted you into the group the second you walked through the door
although what he's not so ecstatic about is you and taehyun giggling amongst yourselves like the rest of them aren't there 🤕
with taehyun being one of the more shy and conserved members, he was both in awe and really happy that you were able to get him out of his shell and that taehyun could be comfortable around you
and he still is, don't get me wrong. he just wished the two of you would tone it down a notch
he's not exactly a fan of seeing you two cuddling with each other, cooking with each other, reading with each other, joking around with each other 😟
so when he comes home later that day and sees you both huddled up on the couch together watching some animal documentary while sharing snacks, he's not very happy
that was your thing, the thing you did with him almost every night, he should be there all snuggled up next to you devouring a pack of oreos instead of taehyun 🙁
he's not toxic of course and isn't going to cut you off from each other, but he will shove himself in the middle of you to create a barrier and assert dominance
although that doesn't seem to do the trick because even as yeonjun is literally ontop of you, you continue talking to taehyun about killer whales and what not like he isn't there
he swears his blood starts boiling when he sees taehyun feed you an oreo, right infront of his face too 😟
unfortunately loses his cool a little and tells taehyun to back off before stealing the packet right from his hands
immediately feels guilty though because taehyun decides to leave, leaving him with a very angry partner
and although you are really upset with him for talking to taehyun like that, you decide to let him explain himself because yeonjun isn't one to lash out for no reason
after you both talk it out and come to an agreement, you drag him over to taehyun's room so he can apologize
and then all three of you head back to the couch to finish your documentary (with taehyun sitting at the other end of the couch this time)
𖤐 SOOBIN
being the leader of the group, i think soobin would be very hesitant to introduce you to them because he feels like he has to be sure of himself and the relationship
after all why would he waste his member's time if he wasn't ?
so when he finally does decide that it's time, he's so relieved that all of them really liked you 💔
although when one of them startd to like you a little too much for his liking, it creates a problem
beomgyu was a ray of sunshine, there's no doubting that
he was kind, he was caring and most of all he was funny, what wasn't there for you to like about him?
soobin didn't like your new found interest in gyu not one bit.
he's so nasty to beomgyu when you two are together HELP ME
if beomgyu tried to hug you he'd physically pry him off you because he should be the only one touching you 🤨
of course he's only pushing his luck because it's beomgyu and beomgyu finds it funny, he's not actually so jealous that he doesn't want beomgyu breathing near you (maybe he is)
with that being said beomgyu will do everything in his power to provoke him
he'll sling an arm around you, give you cheek kisses, hold your hand when walking in crowds or have it on the small of your back, feed you and a whole bunch of other things just to get soobin angry 💀
HATES IT WHEN YOU AND GYU MAKE JOKES ONLY YOU TWO UNDERSTAND HE FEELS SO EXCLUDED
will 100% try and extend on the joke or just laugh with you both and it embarrasses him every single time 😭
tries to make jokes like that with you but they're mostly based off a one time experience so you never get them 💀
get's especially jealous when beomgyu sits himself ontop of you and you play with his hair because that. should. be. him.
would probably yank beomgyu off you and angrily lay on your chest and put your hands in his hair
if you don't start playing with his hair too he will cry
but beyond his temper tantrums he finds your relationship with gyu really cute :(
watches you two fondly from afar when you're playing around with each other
will often encourage you to invite beomgyu along on your trips together
especially if you're doing something beomgyu likes or is interested in
he'll be the one holding your hand though beomgyu can figure himself out
𖤐 BEOMGYU
beomgyu finds you and hyuka adorable
you could literally kiss kai infront of him and he'd coo (not really but you get what i'm saying)
he loves that you become more energetic around kai, especially if you're more quiet and peaceful but even if you are already a pretty lively person kai just brings out a different side in you that he loves to see 🙁
will sit in a corner and watch you two bounce off the walls together
the others would whine about how when they so much as look at you beomgyu get's angry but kai could do just about anything with you and get a free pass
he would melt on the spot if he finds you and huening playing with his plushies or cuddling them 💔
there are some times when he gets a bit jealous like when you baby kai and coo at him or cuddle up to him because he wants to have things that only he can do with you
please hold him too he might actually start crying
or when he's in need of your reassurance and affection, he wants you to himself in those moments and kai respects that and leaves you two alone so there's not really much reason for him to be upset
loves when the three of you gang up against the others
teasing soobin or calling yeonjun old together are his favourite activities
you obviously have a handshake that you all have to do every time you see each other 👆
aswell as many inside jokes that always leaves the other 3 scratching their heads
as long as you give him just as much of affection as you do hyuka all is well !!
𖤐 TAEHYUN
he tries to play it cool, he really does, but on the inside he's dying
"oh you're hanging out with yeonjun today? that's cool, be safe" and then you leave and he's ripping the whole apartment to shreds
it's cute sometimes like when you and yeonjun talk about dogs or something but not when he's holding your hand and flirting with you
he does set boundaries of course and yeonjun is respectful of them, but in all honesty? taehyun just wants you to himself 😟
will never get angry at you though it's yeonjun who's the problem
even if yeonjun's just existing in your presence he's still a problem
you could fall asleep on yeonjun's shoulder and he'll be like "👹👹👹"
poor yeonjun won't even do anything and he's still angry
both of you find his jealousy very cute though and tease him
and he'll let it slide most of the time because you're there, but later he's spitting in jun's coffee
although taehyun seems to be constantly enraged by you two he does find you both really cute
is especially soft when you take care of each other, such as preparing meals for the guys together, helping take care of each other when one is sick and so forth
really appreciates yeonjun looking out for you when he can't be there to do it himself or in ways that he can't
and ultimately happy you = happy terry so as long as you're happy so is he
𖤐 HUENINGKAI
he loves the fact you and soobin are close hello ???
his besties are besties ??? what more could he want !?
will 100% buy you all friendship bracelets and necklaces and you MUST be wearing them at all times 🤨
has a group chat with the three of you in it where you bully the others
loves wearing matching outfits with you two as well!
especially on halloween and things like that you all rock up to the party as the totally spies girls
genuinely not a jealous bone in his body
you and soobin are cuddling??? he'll get a blanket and cover you both
you and soobin are feeding each other? he'll put more food in your plates
you and soobin are going out together without him? that's cool, as long as you bring him back food 🫶
you could peel soobin's perilla leaves and he's still so unfazed
the others are a bit scared by it tbh
there are some times when hyuka wants your attention on him and not anyone else, so as long as you give it to him he's as happy as ever !!
sometimes he can get a little annoyed or frustrated like when he wants to tell you something or do something with you but you get distracted by soobin, although that's something that you two work out together
overall he's just ecstatic that two of the people he loves most love each other too 🙁🫶

Always you - Kim Mingyu
Tumblr media
Mingyu x Reader
Song for this one: Always You - Louis Tomlinson
Phrases for this one: “Well, kiss me so they see” + “Well, you look comfortable”
Warning: none
Genre: fluff
Tumblr media
“I don’t know Gyu I’m not really in the mood to party” you said, sitting on your sofa.
Mingyu, your best friend, came to the rescue after a tue biggest break up you had with your, now ex, boyfriend.
And you had all the rights for being sad and don’t want to leave the house yet. Yes of course.
But the break up came six months before.
“We don’t exactly have to party. We will just go there and drink something, or eat, or both, and we just spend some time outside together. It will be good for you to change air”
He always seemed so convincing.
He was smart. Super smart, actually. But if you watched him you wouldn’t ever believed it, just because he was so clumsy and always loved to joke around.
“Ok then. But can I dress like casually?”
He pointed at himself.
“That what I’m wearing, so you kinda HAVE to dress casually”
You smiled at him.
How was he ever able to turn a smile on your face?
Your grandmother and some other relatives you had, always told you that you two were meant to be. Both of you always turned that offer down, stating that you were only best friends.
But you know how things work.
You never doubt something, until someone point it out, and your eyes suddenly start to open.
And you’d be lying if you said that you never thought that Mingyu was a freaking handsome man.
And he was also the only one you really cared about.
And the only one who you wanted to talk to when you were sad.
And so on.
But you always pushed this aside cause he was your best friend and you needed him in your life. You wouldn’t want to risk everything you had just for a thought you had.
You looked at him once again, and when he smiled at you, your mind decided that maybe he was right.
You woke up from the couch and went in your room, grabbing the first clothes you saw that were comfortable enough.
“You ready?” He asked you, with the biggest smile on his face, once you came beside him, next to the front door of your apartment.
He was really proud of you.
Cause, yeah, it has already been six months, but your relationship had been a long one, and it wasn’t easy.
He knew that.
You two walked for a while and decided to go to the nearest bar.
It didn’t had to be a chic place, you just needed a chair, a table and a couple of drinks.
To be honest, less people equals perfect place.
And when you walked inside you were relieved that the number of people inside could be counted on the fingers of one hand.
Six in total.
The only problem?
Between those six people there were some familiar faces.
“Mingyu! That’s Yeonjun!” You shakes the arm of your best friend, who was sitting in front of you, giving his back to the guys who were playing something.
“Who’s Yeonjun?” He asked, trying to look at the guy without being suspicious.
It didn’t worded, by the way.
Mingyu almost fell off of his chair and all the eyes were on you.
When the people around you started to mind their business again, you answered him.
“Soobin’s best friend!”
Soobin was you ex boyfriend.
Still hurt to define him “ex”.
“Oh shoot! No way!” He almost screamed.
He was facing the door and he was the first one to see the so called ‘Soobin’ walking through the door, with a girl holding his arm.
“Speaking of the devil” Mingyu sipped his drink, giving the guy a weird look.
You didn’t understood, so you turned around, and you made eye contact with the man himself, who hurt you.
“Please let’s go” you asked Mingyu.
“No. We stay. It’s a public place and you have to show him you don’t care anymore. He moved on, and so should you” he said, placing his hand on your arm.
You knew, deep down, he was right (he always was, even tho you hated to admit that).
You stated to sip your drink faster, thinking that, once you’ll have finished it you should have headed home, but Mingyu thought the same thing.
“It doesn’t work. I still have my drink half empty” he said, pointing at his glass.
“Why do you care so much anyway? I mean, you two live in the same city, it’s pretty obvious that you soon or later, we’re going to meet again”
Damn.
You hated when he was right.
“Plus. You can’t just spend your entire life regretting someone like him” he pointed at the man, who was now playing with his friends.
“You know what. You’re right. I don’t care anymore” you said.
“Stop looking then” he took another sip of his drink.
He looked so sassy.
You tried your best for the whole evening to not look at Soobin, trying to talk with Mingyu and focusing all your attention on him; and, to be honest, it was kinda easy.
But there was a time where your eyes met Soobin’s ones, and you literally saw the idea flashing on his eyes, before grabbing the girl he came with and kissing her, in front of you eyes.
You know he did it on purpose, all the years you dated him helped you figuring it out.
“What?” Mingyu read the expression in your face and turned around to see.
“Oh no. I’m sorry. We can go now” he said.
He was probably regretting everything.
“Now. We’ll stay. I want revenge” you definitely wanted to.
Even tho you weren’t sure he would have cared, but if there was something you knew was that Soobin hated to loose, and he liked to have the last word.
“That’s right! -Mingyu smiled at you, relived that you weren’t mad at him- what’s your plan?”
You were a little bit insecure now that you had to recreate the plan, but it was just one time.
“Well, kiss me so they see”
Mingyu’s eyes widened and he almost spit his drink.
“I’m sorry what?”
“I said-
“I know what you said! Are you sure?”
Definitely sure.
Plus, you were going to satisfy a little question you had for a long time.
Were Mingyu’s lips soft?
“Oh come on” you reached for him over the table and kissed him.
Was Soobin looking?
You didn’t knew, too focused on the man you always called your best friend.
When you two parted your checks were bright red, and it was the first time you saw Mingyu shy.
After that none of you talked again. You just shared some stares and some cheesy smiles.
When you went outside the bar you walked out grabbing hands. It’s wasn’t strange, you did that other times too, but this time the general feeling was different.
You didn’t even knew if your ex boyfriend (and this time using the word “ex” didn’t hurt that much) was still inside.
When you reached your front door the tension was big. It was almost like you were complete strangers.
“See you tomorrow?” Mingyu asked, as if he didn’t invited every day to your house without permission.
He had the keys. He just opened and came in. Every day.
“Hope so”
You mentally scolded yourself.
It was Mingyu. Why weren’t you normal around him?
In that moment, where you were trying to find your mind again, Mingyu kissed you one more time.
“Mingyu! What the hell are you doing?” You asked. Not because you didn’t wanted to, just because of pure curiosity.
Bu maybe you said the wrong way.
“Didn’t knew you minded. You look comfortable with it”
“Shut up” you said, too shy to talk again.
“See you tomorrow” he chuckled.
“Bye!” You closed the door behind you and you were ready to dream about it for the rest of your nights.

find the word tag CCCXXXV
oh no I'm running out of things to say. things that I can fit into words into sentences I mean. the thought trains don't stop. @writingamongther0ses @zmwrites
uncover huh
unlike (the original meta-portal rewrite which was a bit too ambitious for my own good)
Haknyeon glares at him, which has no effect whatsoever. “Yes. Younghoon fell through that portal. Jisung here came through it. I think it might be broken, so I don’t see how we’re going to remedy this situation.”
Jacob has a very blank expression on, and Haknyeon knows that means he’s worrying. “Well,” he says.
(Besides Jacob being a natural worrier, he’s a witch. Witches tend to be very level-headed and then worry on top of that for good measure, simply because they can.)
“I should’ve stopped him, but he’s too tall,” Haknyeon says, in a voice very close to a whine which is very unlike him.
Jacob looks him up and down tiredly. “I’m taller than you and I wouldn’t be able to stop him either. He’s a trouble magnet.” He eyes Jisung warily. “You should come home with me, I guess. We’ll be more able to tackle the situation if we’ve eaten dinner.”
(This is a very common witch-reaction: confront problems with food. It’s also a very common Jacob-reaction: confront problems with food at my house, specifically, where I feel more comfortable.)
hint (heartbeat, 2021 I wanna write more Liu Sang but I gotta hold off for now)
He really can’t figure this. What part of this conversation is he missing? “I made the map. It might be a little smudged because my hand was shaking, but it’s clear.”
The warmth doesn’t die but Zhang Qiling’s eyes tighten at that. “We won’t leave you behind,” he says patiently. There's something left unsaid but is hinted at by a tiny change of breathing rhythm.
Liu Sang is very confused. But maybe he’s not? He listens to that change in heartbeat for another moment before pulling at his courage reserves to ask, “Do you, uh, want me to come with you?”
“You’re useful,” Zhang Qiling says, simple and truthful. Then, his ouxiang adds, “Yes. We want you with us.”
Oh. Oh?
“Oh,” Liu Sang whispers. And this is a new kind of pain, a warm, fluttery kind that feels almost good. “Even though I’m useless sometimes?”
“Anyone can be useless sometimes.” This is a simple and truthful statement that requires no clarification.
space (meta-portal after I had figured out my groove)
Jisung beckons to the group. "Let's put the tools away. That's all the chairs we can salvage anyway. If there's still not enough space we can get the crates back out or sit on the floor." "You're not going to make me sit on your lap again?" Yeonjun asks wryly. "If you wanted to, I wouldn't object." Jacob pokes his head into the main room. "Come and help set the tables, would you? I've got the plates and mugs out." Everybody goes, because Jacob ranks after Jisung in terms of giving orders. Haknyeon should be just behind but he's a little iffy on this whole situation and has therefore forfeited his rights to the chain of command. Sangyeon, as the oldest, should also rank highest, but he gave his up willingly.
north (hyunjin's meta-portal stats bcuz we love him)
Hyunjin - 24, 180cm Prince/guardian of northern scarlentis Winter magic faerie, STRESSEDtm because he thinks he has to be on top of everything (but especially Minho’s antics) Friendly and gentle otherwise, responsible, big heart, self-sacrificing
fate (destiny, undesired, 2020 - I guess I had to have a poem)
the problem with fate is that it has no control. what appears to be a maniacal hand destroying the wills of others is, in fact, a simple eventuality that it simply must be. perhaps it didn’t mind that two lovers found each other, but if their strings broken a mere moment later could fate intervene? it was merely the sky and the stars were without mind or desire.
world (meta-portal rewrite)
"someone passed me in the water." it's the stranger talking. his eyes are open.
Jacob helps him to sit up. "Juyeon was in the water?"
the stranger wipes at his nose. "that creeper vine must have been enchanted for it to have affected me."
"focus," Haknyeon snaps, newly invested in the situation because he doesn't want to have lost both brothers. "Juyeon didn't come up?"
"he came up, they pulled him out."
everybody looks at him like he's crazy.
"nobody's here," Jisung says gently.
the stranger shakes his head. "on the other side. this is not where I fell in. I'd heard rumors of new portals randomly appearing but I thought they were just rumors. apparently not, since I just came through one. your friend must've come out in my world."
burn (meta-portal rewrite - oh hey I guess I'll make my year's goal if I finish nano)
Jisung gets up first the next morning and makes blueberry muffins and tea. Jacob gulps down a cup too hot because he's distracted by his locator spell giving back cryptic readings and Haknyeon has to make him a burn potion so he can talk again.
"don't do this, I can't be in charge of these children," Haknyeon tells Jacob.
"thank you," Jacob says when he can feel his throat again.
he packs them all some lunches and locks up the cottage. Jisung ends up walking in between Kevin and Sunwoo and Jacob is grateful that one of the kids has some braincells.
paper, potion, poison, purchase. BONUS: pouch, punch. @ashen-crest @akindofmagictoo and anybody who also has these words, obviously

⠀ ҉ PRE LONG DISTANCE
yeonjun was a clingy boyfriend. when he greeted you, he'd give you a big hug and kiss the top of your head. he always insisted on walking you home, whether it was day or night when the two of you would part ways. and since both of you had pretty busy schedules, yeonjun would make time to talk to you or meet up with you whenever he could.
when you broke the news that you were moving, yeonjun wasn't too phased at first. in his mind, there was nothing in the world that could tear you two apart. you were in love with each other and that was all that mattered. but as soon as he learned how far you were going, the weight of the situation became too much for him.
you picked a tile on the cafe floor and decided that you'd keep your eyes there so as to not see the look on yeonjun's face when you told him the bad news. "yeonjun, my family's moving and i want to go with them."
yeonjun gave you his famous smile, the one that was reserved for 'you're so cute' moments. he chuckled, "that's so sweet of you. where are you guys going? daegu? ansan?" he stirred his drink with his bendy straw and you watched as the chocolate milkshake swirled around. that, along with the bomb you had to drop on your boyfriend, was making you dizzy. you had chosen the cafe for a reason; neither of you were bold enough to make a scene in public.
you swallowed, but couldn't seem to make your throat feel less dry. "outside of the country, jjunie."
yeonjun stopped stirring his milkshake. he leaned back in the brown leather armchair of the cafe. "like, japan?"
you blinked back tears and tried not to think about crying. "farther than that," you replied, twiddling your fingers.
"singapore?" yeonjun's eyes darted back and forth. he looked like he was about to start gasping for air, maybe even lose consciousness. you hated that the place was much farther. why couldn't it had just been a couple cities over? why did it have to be in a different continent?
after giving him all the details, yeonjun chuckled and ran his hands through his hair repeatedly. you knew he wasn't losing his mind, but he sure was losing himself over the situation. he tried to convince you that you didn't really have to move with your family. you were an adult now, and you couldn't quit school. he said you could move in with him and the others, live at their dorm, but you knew that the idea was unrealistic. neither of you were ready to move in together and his boss would never allow it. you explained that you chose to go with them, and that you could transfer universities. yeonjun wanted to get mad at you, but instead, he respected your decision.
yeonjun got used to the idea of you being away from him for some time. that's just it, he got used to the idea. it hadn't actually hit him that you were moving far, far away until one day he came over, and you showed him pictures of what your family's new house would look like.
that's when yeonjun started to feel overwhelmed and anxious. he kept thinking that when you finally went over there, you would find someone within reach who was better than him in every possible way. so to fulfill his own insecurities, he would come at you with expensive gifts and outstanding dates. but then one day you told him that the two of you needed to talk and his fear of being broken up with went from a level 2 to a level 7. every time you tried to discuss the fact that you were moving away, he'd distract you with more expensive gifts and physical affection. afterwards, he always pretended to fall asleep or that he had to rush home so that you couldn't break up with him.
yeonjun wasn't sure what to do next. even the others knew there was something going on with him. it was two weeks before you would be leaving, and he was too afraid to talk to you because he thought you were going to dump him. though, he knew he needed to talk to you if he wanted you to stay with him.
it didn't take long for you to figure out what was going on with your boyfriend. so one day, you asked him out to breakfast, acting as if it would just be a regular date. yeonjun was stressed out the night before, wondering if you'd mention that you were leaving soon. when he showed up he had bags under his eyes and his hair was a mess. he picked at his food the entire time, awaiting heartbreak. however, you weren't going to break up with him, and you needed to make that clear.
you reached across the table and took the fork out of yeonjun's hand. you intertwined your fingers with his and looked him straight in the eyes. "jjunie, why don't you talk to me anymore ?"
"y-you still call me jjunie?" yeonjun sniffled, but he refused to cry. you had your reasons for dumping him and he would just have to accept it.
"why wouldn't i call you jjunie?" you squinted at your boyfriend and sighed. "yeonjun, i'm not breaking up with you. i know you think i am."
yeonjun relaxed his shoulders. it felt like the weight he had been carrying for a few months had finally lifted. he closed his eyes, leaned back in his seat like he did the day you broke the bad news, and took a deep breath. he covered his face with his hands and asked in a tiny voice, "why did you want to talk to me?" he concluded himself to be a total loser.
"jjunie, are you dumb?" you giggled. "you're my boyfriend. i wanted to talk to you about what the plan was. you know, like what time is best to call, when you think we'd be able to see-"
yeonjun leaned over the cafe table and kissed you hard, cutting off your sentence. he loved you so much.
the day of departure, yeonjun accompanied you and your family to the airport. he held you in his arms, and tried to ignore the fact that it would be a long time until he got to hug you again. he wanted to put the moment in a bottle so that he could return at any time, and hold you for as long as he wanted. but he you knew he was okay. he knew the two of you would be okay.
⠀ ҉ POST LONG DISTANCE
yeonjun is still a clingy boyfriend. you guys would always shower each other in romantic gestures, but now it's triple the cheesy messages, double the cute playlists, and a whole lot of phone calls and video chats.
when he visits a new place, he always takes a picture to send to you and adds, "when you come back, let's go here together."
he sends you a whole lot of videos and voice messages, and you do the same, especially if it's a very busy day for one of you and you know you might not get the chance to talk. yeonjun's favorite thing to do is send you a voice message right when he wakes up so you can hear his raspy voice, and send videos of him blowing kisses at the camera.
it's much easier to tease you now. when he sees an outfit that's cute and a little sinful while walking past a store, he takes a picture to send to you and goes, "you would look cute in this. should i ship it to you so you can call me while wearing it?" please forgive the man, he doesn't get any action now that you're gone.
you spam him with tons of selfies. he saves all of them... until he runs out of storage and has to choose which ones he loves more and it's harder than any exam he's ever taken.
the idea of seeing him again is always on your mind. you miss the times he would walk you home, kiss your forehead, let you sit on his lap. and yeonjun constantly thinks about all of your old cuddle sessions and movie nights. he misses you so so much.
as far as insecurities go, yeonjun isn't worried about you ending things with him anymore. you, on the other hand, get a little nervous whenever you're on the phone with him and hear a charming voice in the background. yeonjun senses you're uneasiness, and has no problem explaining who it is and what's going on.
there's nothing to worry about, though. neither of you are going anywhere. long distance is a piece of cake to yeonjun now, and you know you'll hold each other soon.

expect the unexpected | 17
You spent the previous night at your parent’s house while your dad stayed at the hospital with your mom. They wanted to make sure that everything was okay before they let her go. Your dad let you know that there’s food in the fridge and to eat when you get home.
You weren’t hungry so you decided to get some shut eye… until midnight when you were suddenly hungry and ate every leftovers your parents had.
Long story short, you came back to the hospital the following morning and you’re now in your mom’s hospital room, throwing up in the toilet.
“Are you okay hon?” Your dad asks, peeking his head into the bathroom.
“Ugh I think I ate too much last night,” you say, getting up from the bathroom floor.
“Are you sure that’s all? Nothing else?” Your dad asks you as you go over to the sink to rinse your mouth and wash your hands. “Do you want to get checked? We are in a hospital already,” he laughs.
“No, I think I’m fine. I’m just going to go lay down, I kind of feel light headed.”
“Okay sweetie, if you still aren’t feeling well by the time mom’s discharged, we’re going to get you checked next. Can’t be too safe. You probably caught something,” your dad says, walking to your mom’s side.
“What’s wrong?” Your mom asks you when you walk out of the bathroom. You shake your head, you didn’t want her to worry, she’s been through enough.
“Nothing, I just ate too much last night right before I went to sleep,” you answer, sitting down on the chair by her.
“Okay… I see.”
-
“Are you going to forget us again,” Soojin says as the four of them drive up to the school drop off. Jin scoffs.
“Yah, it was an accident,” Jin says, running a hand through his hair. “I’ll be working at our building today. So I won’t fall asleep and I will be able to pick you up on time.”
Soojin pouts, “I like it when Uncle Yeonjun takes us home..”
“And that’s why it isn’t happening anymore,” Jin says with wide eyes, turning his head back to look at her. “Daddy will be the one to pick you up until college. Okay?”
“Fine,” Soojin says with a small eye roll, her older brother laughs at her.
“Okay, I love you both, be good,” Jin says, unlocking the doors and waving his hand at the kids.
“Can you at least bring uncle Yeo--”
“Leeeeeeaaavee,” Jin says, pointing out the door, interrupting Soojin. His daughter huffs, crossing her arms over her chest as she gets down from the car.
“Bye dad, we love you,” Minseok says, speaking for both him and his sister. “Bye Han-Han,” he says, tickling Haneul’s chin, making him laugh.
“Okay Haneul, you’re going to work with me today,” Jin says, driving off as soon as his two oldest gets to their friends.
“No auntie Sohu and auntie Rin today?” Haneul asks, already pouting. Jin glances at him from the rearview mirror.
“Nope, not today. Maybe tomorrow okay? Daddy has a lot to do,” Jin tells him. “You’ll see uncle Kookie later though.”
“Uncle JaaayKaaay~” Haneul says it the same way that Jungkook does it, nose scrunch and everything.
“Yeah uncle JaaayKaaay,” Jin repeats.
-
“Okay, the first meeting is in ten minutes,” Yeonjun says, walking right alongside Jin. The two power walked to the nearest elevator. Haneul was running right behind them since his little legs couldn’t keep up.
“Daddyy,” Haneul whines, starting to cry. The two older men stop mid step, looking down at Haneul. Who is now kneeling down onto the floor and crying. Throwing a tantrum in the middle of the room.
Haneul begins to start screaming, heads are turning towards them three now.
“Aigoo,” Jin sighs, bending down to pick up his son. “What’s wrong?” If you were there, you would know it was because they weren’t giving him attention. I mean, I’d hate it if my two friends were walking ahead of me and leaving me behind, forgetting about me!
“You’re okay~” Jin says, bouncing Haneul in front of him. Hanuel screams in response, bending backwards. Jin smiles sheepishly and bows at the people who walk by, staring. “Shh shh,” he hushed. “He’s being so dramatic,” Jin says to Yeonjun.
“Umm sir, he is your son after all…” He replies.
-
“Are you feeling better?” Your dad asks you as you three get to their car. Your mom was finally getting discharged, so the three of you were leaving the hospital now.
“I think so,” you say, hopping in the back seat. “My stomach still hurts a bit though..” you say, rubbing your belly. “I shouldn’t have eaten so much, so late last night..”
“Maybe it’s your period honey,” your mom says, looking back at you from the passenger’s seat.
“You’re right,” you say, coming to the realization that you haven’t had your period yet. You take out your phone to check when the last time you had your period. You had an app for it, especially since you take birth control as well, you keep well track of your period. Although now that you think of it… you should’ve had it already this month.
“Dad, before we go home, can we stop by the store? I just need to grab something really quick.”
-
“Okay, moving on. As some of you know, I had a meeting yesterday with Mr. Lee,” Jin says, sitting in the boardroom and having a meeting with his fellow employees. “We’re good to go with our new building in Busan.” Everyone starts to clap and Haneul looks around the room confused, slowly starting to clap along. He was currently sitting on Yeonjun’s lap.
“With that said, a few of you will be going to Busan to scope out the new area where our building will be,” Jin says, scanning over the employees sitting around the table.
Haneul squirms out of Yeonjun’s hold, running to his dad.
“Are any of you interested in going?” Jin asks. “Or I can pick-- Haneul, later,” Jin says, whispering that last part as Haneul tries to climb onto his lap. Jin looks over to Yeonjun and gives him the look saying ‘get him please.’ Yeonjun immediately gets up and runs towards Jin, bending down to pick up Haneul.
“No!” Haneul yells, turning around to give Yeonjun a dirty look. Haneul turns back towards Jin and tries to climb onto his lap. “I only want daddy,” he says.
“I’m sorry everyone, he’s been a little clingy lately,” Jin says with a slight laugh, picking Haneul up and placing him on his lap. “Let’s continue, does anyone want to go?”
A few people raise their hand up, Yeonjun writes their name down.
“Perfect,” Jin says. “This will be next week, your transportation and hotel will all be paid for.” Haneul turns around and wraps his arms around Jin’s neck, standing on his lap.
“Haneul, can you sit down please,” Jin says, tapping his little butt. “Come on, daddy is working.”
“Noo,” Haneul whines, hugging Jin’s neck even tighter and leaning on him. Jin sighs.
“Okay, I think it’s time for a nap,” he says, looking over at Yeonjun. “I’m sorry everyone, we’re going to have to cut this meeting a bit short. I’ll follow up with you who volunteered to go to Busan later. By tonight you will get a message from me. For everyone else, thank you for your time, I’ll see you all later.”
Everyone says their thank you’s and gets up to leave the room. Jin sighs, rubbing Haneul’s back as he stands up from his chair.
“Go ahead and get some food to eat Yeonjun or whatever else you want to do, I’ll be up in my office. I’ll put Haneul down for a nap,” Jin says, bouncing side to side to help Haneul fall asleep.
“Okay, thank you sir. Would you like me to get anything for you two?” Yeonjun asks. Jin shakes his head.
“No, we're good for now, thank you.” With that, Yeonjun walks out and Jin stays a while in the boardroom to try and soothe Haneul.
“Haneul-ah~,” Jin says calmly. “We’re going to be here all day, please be good for daddy..”
-
You sat on the toilet (with the lid closed) waiting for the results.
Can this really be happening?
You just got back from the store and are now in your parent’s house. You told your parent’s that you were just going to get medicine, which you did, but you really went for one other thing.
*Dit. Dit. Dit.*
The three minutes were up and you were nervous to check.
What if…
-
“He’s sleeping so peacefully,” Jin says, standing over Haneul (who was asleep on the couch he had in his office).
“I can go pick up the kids again hyung,” Yeonjun says. He was standing next to Jin.
“No, I promised the kids I’ll be the one to pick them up today. Can you just watch him while I’m gone? I won’t take long and he should still be asleep by the time I come back,” Jin says, scratching his head. Yeonjun nods.
“Yeah, no problem hyung. I’ll watch him.”
“Okay, thank you. I’ll be back in like fifteen, twenty minutes.”
-
“Hey you remembered us,” Minseok jokes as he gets into the car.
“Of course I did,” Jin says.
“Where’s Haneul?” Soojin asks, looking at the empty car seat. “You forgot him! Mommy is going to be soo mad at you!” Jin laughs, looking back at them.
“I didn’t forget him, he’s sleeping in my office. He’s with uncle Yeonjun,” Jin tells her. Soojin’s eyes immediately light up at the sound of his name, making Jin roll his eyes. “Anyways, when we get there, we’re going to wake up Haneul and go eat something in the cafeteria. Then we have a shoot to go to, so we’ll be going to our other building.”
“Why do we have two buildings anyways,” Soojin asks, looking out of the window as Jin drives away from their school.
“One is our main location, that’s where my office is at and where all the office work takes place. Our other building is where all the studios are at for our clients to take photo or video shoots,” Jin explains.
“Can I have one of them when we’re bigger,” Soojin asks, kicking her feet against the back of the passenger’s seat.
“Sure princess. One for you, one for Minseok, and one for Haneul.”
“But that’s three, you only have two buildings,” Minseok says. “But I can share with Soojin or Haneul, I don’t mind.” Jin smiles as he hears what Minseok says, but by the look on his daughter’s face, Jin can see Soojin quirking up an eyebrow at her brother from the rear view mirror.
“Don’t worry, you two don’t need to share. We’re opening up another location soon, Haneul can have that one,” Jin tells them.
“Good, because I want my own building,” Soojin says, crossing her hands over her chest. Jin laughs. They really are polar opposites.
-
The three walk into Jin’s office and Soojin immediately runs to Yeonjun, who is now carrying Haneul.
“Is everything okay?” Jin asks as he hears his son crying, he walks over to his secretary, taking Haneul from him.
“He woke up and started crying when he noticed that you were gone, I tried my best to calm him down.”
“Aigoo, Haneul-ah, why are you being so clingy to daddy lately huh?” Jin says, pressing kisses to his cheek. Haneul lays his head onto Jin’s shoulder and calms down.
“I think you’re just going to have to carry him all day,” Yeonjun says.
“I think so too. I would use a baby carrier on him, but I think he’s too big for that now..”
“Haneul misses mommy that’s why,” Minseok says, rubbing his little brother’s back.
“Should we facetime mommy then?” Jin asks.
“Yes I miss mommy too!!” Soojin says, bouncing up and down.
“Okay okay, we’ll call mommy first and then we’ll go eat,” Jin says, pulling his phone out of his pocket.
It’s ringing and ringing
And ringing and ringing
And ringing
Still ringing

Chapter five — I wish I was normal
Tumblr media
It was already 4 am, and you guys were heading back to your house after dropping off Hueningkai on his own. He actually lived near the store Beomgyu worked at. So that probably meant you guys would see him more often now. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood but Yeonjun, and you noticed "what's wrong?" your question made Yeonjun frown "oh it's nothing, just you fawning over a guy we just met. Also he doesn't give me good vibes. He's just too happy. That's not normal" he shook his head now. You were baffled by that, you definitely were not fawning over Kai. "Oh no, not the Soobin syndrome" Beomgyu sighed "look Yeonjun, I know that to you it seems impossible to be happy all the time. But there are people who are capable of doing that. Just because you can't it doesn't mean people can't either" your friend explained "Oh then sorry!" Yeonjun raised his hands "Sorry for not being able to be happy" he mumbled to himself while walking fast. He was now way ahead of you and Beomgyu. "Look at what you've done" you glared at Gyu "Well he was being ridiculous y/n I really don't understand why he acts like that everytime someone is 'way to happy' in his opinion" "Yeonjun is not like everyone else Beomgyu, certain things trigger him. We can't just bluntly tell him everything that's on our mind right away. We have to be careful." You sighed, now leaving Beomgyu behind to catch up on Yeonjun.
When you got near him you could hear his sniffles, his hands now burried into his face. He was crying. Immediately you hugged him, hiding your face on his chest. Making him stop walking. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry for being like this. I wish I was normal" he said between sobs while holding you tightly. "Hey, hey, don't ever say that. You shouldn't feel sorry for that. You can't control your feelings Yeonjun. So please, don't ever feel sorry. It's not wrong feeling like this, so you shouldn't feel bad about it" you said while caressing his back lovingly. He placed his head on top of yours while he kept crying. You knew that it was better to let him cry. He needed to get it all out. After a few minutes the boy pulled away, and you whipped his tears. Staring at him with a soft look "A little better?" You placed your hand on his cheek caressing it "Yes, thank you" he nodded a little and then held your hand. It wasn't the first time that Yeonjun felt so bad about something, sometimes he would just hide away and cry. Not wanting anyone to see him like that. Because he felt like a burden. He felt like if he cried in front of someone the person would either worry to much, or think he was being dramatic. Just like the people in highschool. They always told him he was too sensitive, that if he kept being like that he wouldn't enjoy the fun things in life. But they didn't understand. They didn't know Yeonjun's mental issues. And when he told them, they just kept saying the same thing. Thinking that those problems only happened if you were sad a lot. And that was definitely not how it worked. Depression was something complex, something more than being just sad all the time. Most of the time he also felt unmotivated. So whenever someone told him he wasn't putting his effort into something he felt bad, guilty even. Because it wasn't his fault, it's not like he wanted to be like that. But of course, people always misunderstood.
Beomgyu slowly catched up. He felt bad for what happened. As he just said the first thing that popped up on his head.  Sometimes he just forgot that he had to be careful with Yeonjun. And that almost every time ended badly. Once Yeonjun couldn't control his nerves and just slapped Beomgyu, regret instantly filled his body, but he already did it. So he couldn't do anything about it. "Hey, I'm sorry..." He whispered to Yeonjun. "It's okay, don't worry" he ruffled his friends hair. You were glad that there were no hard feelings between your friends. Because you wouldn't be able to handle that. Even more now that the three of you were going to live together. Everything had to be nice and calm. Because if it was messy, it would be the worst experience in the world. As you reached your house you suddenly remembered something. Yeonjun's therapy. Who would pay for that? Because you doubted that his parents would even do that after literally not caring about him. After Yeonjun came to your house the only thing they did was text him, asking him were he was. Yeonjun told them the plan of staying with you from now on, and they simply agreed. That angered you a lot, but also worried you. You knew that Yeonjun's therapy was expensive, but you couldn't simply make him stop going. It would make all the progress he had done fade away. Your friends seemed to notice your worried face and Beomgyu spoke "hey, are you okay y/n?" He placed his hand of your shoulder "yeah, yeah, I'm fine, sorry. Just got carried away by my thoughts" you laughed it out, and took the keys to the lock. Opening the door.
Once you all reached the house a sigh left your lips, and you immediately went towards the couch, feeling tired "I think I'll be able to actually sleep today" you said while closing your eyes "Well you have to cause tomorrow is Monday and we have to go to work little one" Beomgyu said while sitting down besides you "Fuck, I totally forgot about that. Yeonjun are you coming with me? So you know the manager interviews you or something" "yeah probably. But I'm kinda worried tho..." He looked at both of you on the couch "What if I fuck it up?" He said nervously "you won't, don't worry" you shook your head "I'll be there for you okay?" You smiled at him, trying to make him feel better "And if you don't feel comfortable with the coffee shop you could try working with Beomgyu. The music shop is quieter and less frequented" Gyu immediately shook his head at that "I don't think that's gonna be possible. The boss doesn't want more employees. Because as you said, it's less frequented, so he doesn't have enough money to pay one more" he pouted a little "sorry" "no, it's fine. I just hope the coffee shop attempt goes well" Yeonjun said while sitting down besides Beomgyu. The three of you stayed there, in silence, enjoying each other's company. And soon enough you ended up falling asleep with your friends, all of you sitting down on that small couch. Your back tomorrow was going to be in pain. But it didn't matter.
Tumblr media
The next morning you woke up hearing your phone's alarm. And you tried to stand up so you could turn it off. But Beomgyu's legs were on top of your thighs, while his head rested on Yeonjun's lap. 'Smart motherfucker' you through to yourself before slapping his butt "Come on wake up! Or else we're going to be late!" You saw how he moved away from you whining. Still not wanting to wake up. You ignored that and stood up. You immediately went towards the bathroom so you could take a quick shower. After showering and changing your clothes you went back to the living room, seeing how your friends weren't on the couch anymore, but on the kitchen making breakfast. Or at least, trying to. "I'm glad you guys aren't burning down the kitchen" you said while sitting down on the counter "Well the pancakes almost got burnt because of Beomgyu" Yeonjun complained while glaring at his friend, while the smaller one shrugged his shoulders "it's not my fault you didn't tell me when to flip them" "you should know that already, it's logic" he rolled his eyes. The taller one placed all the pancakes on a plate and took them to the table, so you could all have breakfast together. The morning had just started, and you were feeling pretty happy and motivated. Everything was working out nicely, better than you expected.
"So, on your break are you coming to the coffee shop?" You asked Gyu while shoving a piece of pancake in your mouth "Yeah, like always" he said cutely "also, my boss loves the coffee and pastries there so he let's me stay more time if I bring him something" he smiled proudly. He had told his boss that the place was usually super busy, and that he had to at least have more thirty minutes on his break to get there and buy stuff for him. Which was a lie because you always went to Beomgyu first, no matter how many costumers you had. He was always one of the first ones to be served. Best friend privilege. "Sometimes you actually are pretty smart" you said to him while chuckling "What do you mean? I am always smart no matter what" he flipped his hair dramatically "of course you are" Yeonjun rolled his eyes before hitting Beomgyu gently on the back of his head "ouch!" He looked at Yeonjun with wide eyes "he hit me! Y/n do something!" He whined, just like a child "don't look at me, I saw nothing" you looked away pretending to be clueless "the betrayal, having friends for this. Absolutely disappointing. I do not approve of this behavior guys" he shook his head and crossed his arms "always so dramatic oh my God" you rolled your eyes and laughed slightly "anyways we have to get going guys, or else we'll be late. And honestly I don't want my boss to hate me even more" you finished your last pancake and stood up, going to put on your shoes and grab your bag. The guys followed soon after, grabbing everything they needed. "Everyone ready?" You asked looking back "Yes!" They said at the same time and you opened the door, letting them out before getting out yourself and closing the door.
Soon enough you guys had to say goodbye to Beomgyu and keep walking towards the coffee shop, that was just a little bit further away. Once you got there you told Yeonjun to wait, so you could get your manager, that was actually the sweetest person on earth. At least compared to your boss, he was. "so my friend here, Yeonjun, really needs a job, and because I know this place needs more baristas I told him he could come. And maybe, just maybe you could interview him?" You looked at the manager with pleading eyes "Well, I don't know y/n... You know how the boss is about bringing your friends for job interviews" he sighed "please Heeseung, he really needs the job. Also, the boss doesn't have to know about this. Just don't tell him. It's not like your lying or something" you held onto his arm, desperately trying to convince the male "okay, okay. Yeonjun come with me, I'll interview you got it?" Yeonjun simply nodded a little, he was trying really hard to control himself, so the interview would go well "And you" he pointed at you "start cleaning the place a little, we're opening in twenty minutes" "Ahoy captain! Also, were is Sunghoon?" You asked intrigued, as the boy was always on time "He's coming in late today, he had some problems at home" Heeseung frowned a little and then took Yeonjun to another room, so he could actually interview him.
"So, Yeonjun, what makes you want this job?" He asked once both of them were sitting down "I'm now living with y/n so I need to pay my part of the bills" Yeonjun was planning on being completely honest on this interview, unless the boy asked if he had any problems. He knew that if he told him that he suffered depression and anger issues he would never hire him. "Oh, so are you guys together? Like, dating" he asked curiously "Oh, no, no. We're just friends" and he noticed that when he said that, Heeseung looked what seemed to be relieved. And that made Yeonjun question if the boy liked you. Because why would he be relieved if he didn't "okay so, do you have any experience working with coffee, or how to make it?" "Not really. But I can learn" he quickly said, making Heeseung nod "are you good with costumers?" "Hm, the last place I worked wasn't really the best, so I didn't get along with the customers. But mostly because it was a bar, and a lot of drunk people went there" the other boy simply nodded again. "Okay so, we're really desperately looking for more people to work here, cause honestly three don't do the work, so you're hired!" Hee said with a big smile on his face. Yeonjun smiled too, feeling proud. He finally got a job that seemed to be nice. And also, with you by his side. Maybe life was starting to be pretty nice to him. Both of them stood up from the chairs and walked out towards the counter were you where talking to Sunghoon "So, because you don't have much experience yet, today you'll be with the pastries along with Sunghoon. This is your new uniform so go put it on" Heeseung explained and Yeonjun nodded grabbing the clothes from his hands and walking towards the bathroom, putting now the uniform. You smiled proudly when you saw him walk towards you with the clothes on. This was going to be a fun day. Working with Yeonjun already made you feel excited. And the coffee shop didn't even open yet. You just couldn't wait to see how the day was going to be.

﹡﹡ Yeonjun: ﹡﹡
Tumblr media
Was everything alright?
Right off the bat, Yeonjun could see the shadow of your nervous stature linger at the door of your bedroom. He wondered so silently why you stayed there for a while, not making a move to take a step into the room he thought made you feel at ease. Did he do something wrong? He couldn’t recall what happened earlier other than the two of you watching movies while you talked about your day... did anything set you off?
Well, he remembered that you weren’t paying much attention to his words at the end of his conversation. He couldn’t blame you. He must’ve been droning off and off about those fancy yet stupid pants he found hilarious to be on himself when he looked in the mirror the other day, so there’s no reason why you’d lose interest during the demise of his story. Plus, you were dozing off or something. He assumed you were going to fall asleep since it was already reaching one am, so he invited you to the two of yours’ bedroom, getting up from the couch with a content smile from how relaxed you’d been with him.
Now though, he could sense that something was clearly wrong. You were never reluctant to enter the room like this before if he remembered correctly. Yes there were the shy wonders if you were barging into his personal space, but that was what being a couple was. He was right there for you, and right there you’d always be too. He loved you so dearly, but at this moment he couldn’t figure out why you were acting so sheepishly in front of him.
All of a sudden when he least expected it, the timid shakiness of your voice reached his ears, bundling up into a jumble of words he couldn’t understand until he replayed it in his mind over and over again.
“I need to tell you something. I... I struggle with anxiety, Jun.”
So that was what it was?
The boy couldn’t help himself, arising from the soft mess of the covers which slid off the bed when he got up. He was worried for really nothing, but he was so glad you trusted him enough to tell him this. He knows how hard it is and the fact that you told him even if it was difficult for you? It was the very least to say he treasured you more than anyone his entire life had known when he comprehended that.
Reaching out to hold you, he trapped you in his signature but soft bear hug while you gasped soundlessly. Out of all the reactions, you were least expecting something as heartwarming as this...
His nose made its way to your neck, burying itself quietly while the whispers of his soft, gentle voice tickled your right ear. You melted into his arms upon hearing him comfort you sweetly, letting him hold you in his embrace with no protests. As always, his hugs gave you the most warmth when you were least expecting it, and you were extremely grateful for that.
No matter what your boyfriend did, you weren’t able to resist him even if it was so hard to tell him what you were struggling with. Of course you knew he’d understand right away being the kind gentleman he is, but the skipping beats of your heart proved you wrong in so many ways.
What if he judged you? What if he thought this was taboo because he hadn’t experienced it many times before? What if he thought you were making up lies just like the others?
What you hadn’t expected was for him to bring you closer in, roping you to his arms where he allowed you to stay for the time being- to stay forever if you’d like. His comforting scent traveled through your nose with every breath you took, slowly but surely becoming engrossed by the only person you had only dearly loved your whole life.
“I know that it’s really hard, baby, but I know you can do it like you’ve always had. Remember that whenever you’re going through these times, I’m right here for you, alright? And it’s not because I can benefit through it by giving you the best hugs ever or being your wonderful boyfriend many others are jealous of... it’s because I love you.”
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
﹡﹡ Soobin: ﹡﹡
Tumblr media
He didn’t know. You never told him anything in your three month relationship in fear he would judge you for it. You thought it would be the best showing the best face you could effortlessly mask on even when the days grew hard. But now? You were so tired. You were so tired, and everything finally came down crashing on you when you least expected it.
What a way to tell your boyfriend that you dealt with worries horribly. And what other way could that be?
Through an anxiety attack.
It could’ve been an ordinary day. It should’ve been an ordinary day! You weren’t going to think that something terrible would happen to a close relative that you couldn’t visit right away since the two of you were so far. One of your closest friends called to let you know while you were at home watching a film with Soobin, but it felt like the whole world fell onto your shoulders just like that.
It’d always been like this. They had health problems in their life and no matter what you did, you weren’t able to help them and it gradually built up in your mind.
Disappointments piled on your heavy chest as you felt the ability to easily breathe become less and less. Several chills ran down the valley of your back and your throat was parched with no words to say, not even the words of goodbye to that friend of yours who was calling and shouting through the phone. Luckily, Soobin wasn’t there to see all of this and was currently in the bathroom to do his business. Otherwise he would’ve seen you like a mess, and you didn’t want any such thing to happen under any circumstances.
Today was different. You wanted so desperately for him not to see you like this; you should’ve been calm and collected like always in front of him.
But what you didn’t know was that your boyfriend could see everything that was wrong with you. He could clearly see that you were in distress but trying not to let it get the best of you. Was it due to pride? He hadn’t ever seen you like this so it was surprising to him, but he needed to do the best he could as someone who loved you more than anything.
“Love, is everything alright? You seem to be...” He couldn’t find the word to describe it but his voice to you was just as calming as always even if you didn’t want him to figure out you didn’t do well with anxiety.
“Everything is fine... everything is fine- no wait, Soobin, nothing is okay. I’m such a wreck. I just can’t relax tonight when something horrible is going on. I have never told you this but you should know that I struggle with anxiety.”
He didn’t understand, but that was okay.
He allowed himself to sit down next to you, immediately protecting you in his arms as tears welled up in your eyes. You were shaking as if it was the last thing you were able to do and he himself internally panicked since he wasn’t sure what to do. He wasn’t sure if he should , opting to squeeze you tighter but not enough to deplete the rest of the air you were struggling to take in your lungs.
Placing his chin on the top of your head while you clung onto his shoulder, he whispered sweet words into your ear that he hoped would calm you down. Something along the lines of permitting yourself to cry through it or letting you know that he’d always be right there for you, but one you remembered so clearly was when he kissed your forehead, saying:
“I love you.”
It was the first time you heard him say those words.

﹡﹡ Beomgyu: ﹡﹡
Tumblr media
Ultimately, Beomgyu knew you had troubles with anxiety although you never told him. Never once in your life did you recall telling him about this conflict since you weren’t sure how he’d take it but maybe you slipped up somehow. He said you didn’t and you couldn’t understand him in the first place. How did he realize that? Well according to him, he just knew.
After being a couple for several months and almost a year, he tried to get to know everything about you. About how you’d fall asleep in his chest whenever you got the chance, but too shy to ask him randomly. How you’d gaze at him with pure eyes whenever he got out the guitar to sing to you whenever you pleased. Or how you’d look out into the window while having a date with him, becoming entranced with the stars while instead he became enamored with you.
So when your breathing became labored or how you’d tremble whenever you were caught in an uncomfortable situation, he made a promise deep down in his heart that he’d protect you every single time. After all, that was what a great boyfriend was supposed to do, right? And every day he strove to get to that wonderful place as you reassured him.
It was only until then when he brought you out of an awkward situation that you told him about your anxiety. You had just arrived home from dancing all night with him and he was going to go get some punch for you guys until he spot you in the corner of the room, face white with panic when a drunk man approached you.
Instantly he found his feet shuffling away from the table, dropping the drinks in hand to run to you who was paralyzed in place, unsure of what to do. He yelled for your name, but you just weren’t able to hear him with all of that talking and blasting music which only served as a distraction he wanted to get out of the way.
He wouldn’t be able to forgive himself ever if a man like that touched you in a way you didn’t want. And he sure as hell wouldn’t like it at all if they violated you at any time they oh so desired.
Just in time when they were going to grab your arm, he cradled you in his arms, feeling you melt into his embrace because he was your safe place you could count on. Your throat was too parched that you weren’t able to choke out a soft thank you to him, but the look in your eyes when you looked at him told him everything.
The drunk person grunted at this and Beomgyu shot them a death stare. Considering that he was very much taller than them (but still tiny, he’s a bb what do you expect), they became intimidated and headed straight for the dance floor. Yes, Beomgyu didn’t want that person to do the same to anyone else, but as of right now you were his first priority he wasn’t ever going to let go of.
“It’s okay, baby. I’m right here, and I’ll always be right here. I’m your knight in shining armor, remember?”
The corners of his lips lifted up gently as he kissed you on the forehead, rubbing your back with his hands delicately while you held him tighter. If there was nothing else he wanted to do more in the world, it would definitely be swaying with you outside as the music blasting from the inside found its way to your ears. You were simply precious to him and he wasn’t going to waste time being your boyfriend because he’d want to marry the love of his life instead.

﹡﹡ Taehyun: ﹡﹡
Tumblr media
“I can’t do it... I just can’t.” You stared at the project beneath your hands, gazing into the abyss where no progress was getting done. This was all your fault, your stress was building up due to the amount of assignments your teachers kept giving you every single damn day, but now this stupid project that had been there for a month, waiting for you to get to it like you always thought you would. Now it was the night before it was due. It obviously wasn’t going to get done by itself and you knew that for a fact, but you just needed a break.
And these things too...
What if you didn’t get it done in time? What if everyone finds your project to be a dumb waste of money? How were you going to present when it was only half finished and worked on just the date before it was due?
Presenting was one thing too; you didn’t work well with them under such pressure of easily being judged. You were so tired but it’s on you for not working on it earlier. However, how could you with all the homework you were getting?! Now the teachers would be disappointed in you, and not to mention you yourself as well since you knew you could’ve done much better.
The clock hand reached 12am and Taehyun wondered what you were doing up so late on a school day. Normally you’d take care of your health but he wasn’t sure why you’d do something like this when it was important to get some shut eye. He opened the door to your room, holding a cup of water just to see you holding your head in your hands in distress. The anxious and shaky raise of your chest every time you took a breath in wasn’t something he ever experienced before, but he knew right away what was wrong.
But what was he supposed to say in order to make you calm down? He wanted to help you so much, however he didn’t know what to do at all. He was supposed to be smart! He was supposed to help you with anything you ever needed! But here he was, standing in the doorway like a fool as he watched you sweat
“I don’t do well with anxiety, Tyun. I never have and now it’s my fault that I’m acting like this.” Even speaking was hard to do because of your dry Sahara Desert mouth.
It was like he figured out, and in the end like he predicted- he was right.
Without a lingering moment he draped his arms on your shoulders, holding you gently as his chin slowly buried into the nap of your neck. A light tune he hummed soon turned into singing which surely made you calm down under a few minutes, but he didn’t allow himself to pull away from your quivering body. You didn’t know that he was going to stay up with you as well and be there once you finished it. Truly he believed that you would pull through; you always did under situations like this, and he couldn’t be more proud of you than he was now.
His voice was pleasant, soft to your ears as he sang “Over and Over Again.” You could feel yourself being lulled to sleep like you deserved but the giggles in your ears made you jolt up in surprise. Every sign of being nervous disappeared under in instance thanks to him and you looked back to see him grin at you with shining stars in his eyes.
“You can do it, Y/N. I believe in you so you too should believe in yourself,” he murmured under his breath, unsure if you had heard him. You had, and it was the very least to say you were thankful the universe gave you such a beautiful present like Taehyun in your life.

Tumblr media
Ice cream dates were the best with Kai! Especially on hot days like these where you could hang out on the porch together with him, talking about anything that crossed your minds. It was the best Saturday you’ve ever had in your whole entire life, the melting ice cream cones dripping down a colorful streak onto your arms, but none of you paid any attention to it.
His giggle was simply the cutest thing to hear and wow, did that give you a whole rush of serotonin. He was telling you about how Yeonjun abused his plushies during an m/v and how he got revenge by saying Yeonjun’s hair could be a bird nest from how dead and crispy it was. After dying it that is. And he was being honest though, wasn’t he?! Was he wrong?! Countless snorts from laughing and snickers earned the two of you weird yet not surprised glances from Soobin who was opening the blinds every few minutes just to check up on the two of you from time to time.
It was during times like these where you wondered how you’d cope if he left you. Especially during cheerful times when you laughed with him because you weren’t sure if it was going to be the last time. With his smiles however, he told you much differently. That sugary sweet smile he shot at you whenever you were worried with something was one thing you never wanted to lose. And yet, they’d assure you every time that he would never ever lose the brightness in his life.
You figured this was the perfect time to finally tell him after such a long time of keeping it in the dark. A year of a beautiful relationship shouldn’t have much secrets when it came to things like these. You were just hoping at this point that Kai would still love you and realize your worth even with problems like this.
“Do you remember when I was stressing over that one presentation and how I’d shake terribly?”
It got quiet all of a sudden and you stole a glance at him to see him gazing at you with his head tilted to the right side. His reaction made you feel nervous and your hands trembled, but you had to remain calm. Kai wouldn’t do anything to set you off, now wouldn’t he? He’s a sweetheart, there’s no way he would hurt you like he promised when he asked you to be his.
“Oh yes, I clearly remember. I don’t know what happened, but I wasn’t sure how to bring it up with you. I didn’t want to be insensitive with you so I never brought it up so you wouldn’t be uncomfortable.”
At that very moment, you knew the pure boy deserved the world more than anyone else. Well, more than the world in your opinion, but he was so sweet just like the ice cream you ate a few minutes before!
“Well, that’s the thing. I’ve never told you this, but I struggle with anxiety. I’m really thankful that you calmed me down that time, otherwise I’m not sure what I would’ve done without you.” The last words from your voice gradually became tiny, gliding along with the summer breeze that flowed past the two of you.
Great, now everything was awkward.
A couple minutes of silence passed by. The corners of his lips were turned into a huge smile from side to side, and you were extremely confused at this reaction. You weren’t sure what he was thinking but hopefully he wouldn’t judge you or anything like that. Your brain was in the wrong for thinking he would leave you for this, but it was a habit that formed whenever life happened.
“Bubs, hold my Molang! You can have this one, it’s my favorite one so I hope they’ll be able to calm you down for now.” He pushed the plushy in your hands and you couldn’t help the grin that finally found your face. What was he supposed to say anyway?
“But in all serious though,” he noted, dabbing your nose with a spot of his favorite ice cream flavor, “I’m so glad you trusted me because you know I’ll always be right here for my favorite penguin~”

overflow
pairing: yeonjun x reader
genre: angst, smut, fluff
–––––
I kept my hands tightly shut, badly wanting to emit a curse from how sharp Yeonjun is talking to me right now.
"Yeah, you didn't tell me that you were already home? I was waiting for you outside the office to fetch you! I was waiting for more than an hour, Y/N. More than an hour!"
"I told you my phone died! I wasn't able to text you anymore! You could have just gone home after you got the hint I was not there anymore! What's your fucking problem? Why the fuck are you making such a big deal out of all this?! I am so fucking stressed at work then I come home and you storm on me as if I came from a party or a night out?! Just what the fuck Yeonjun!" I threw my bag over the couch, not able to hold it back anymore. I felt my eyes watering from both the anger and stress I am currently feeling. I sat on the couch and brushed off my tears.
Yeonjun sighed and faced the ceiling. He brushed his hair back and I know how hard he's trying to keep his temper from exploding. His expression somewhat softened when he looked at me. He knows that if I reached my peak, there's nothing I could do but cry. Probably because my emotions overflow. But this isn't the time to feel sad. I've made up my mind that I am angry. "You're not the only one stressed, Y/N. I am too. I am stressed and that might have been the reason why I raised my voice and blamed the rest on you. I'm sorry, Y/N."
His apology is sincere, but my pride just won't go down. He sat down next to me and patted my hair which made me even more annoyed for some reasons.
"Fuck off! I'm so upset!"
I did not even bother to look up at him but I felt the atmosphere grow heavy. He put his hand away from my head. "What did I tell you about cursing? His voice was stern. I can feel my heart starting to race but I chose to ignore it. Still, because of my pride.
"And so? What about that?"
"I told you not to curse whenever we argue, didn't I?"
He did, but again, my pride. I did not answer him and continued to fume. I know he will continue to talk to me this way so I stood up to head to our room. Unfortunately, Yeonjun held my arm and forced me to sit back down. Instead, he stood up and held my jaw. It was so tight that I thought he's going to injure my face.
"I asked you a question clearly. You're not deaf. You know the answer but you ignored me." I gulped unconsciously and right now, I cannot find my pride anymore. What I can tell is that I am so nervous, afraid that this might go somewhere unexpected. And in one swift motion, he scooped me from below my knees and threw me on his shoulders. He entered our room and threw me on our bed making me yelp. With just the light beaming from the moon and the buildings outside, it's quite impossible to see anything but his silhouette. I felt the bed sink when Yeonjun came close to me. He placed his forehead on mine, his hand gently brushing my hair.
It hasn't been half year since we decided to become couples and live under the same roof. We've never had an intense argument until now. It was always just small misunderstandings. We both apologize to each other right after we said something wrong or if we ever hurt the feelings of one another. I guess it's the stress that really made us lose our temper.
At the same time, me and Yeonjun have never been this close physically. We have kissed, made out and touched each other with the restriction of our clothes but that's it which is the reason why my heart right now is racing like crazy, knowing this can lead to something else. Our breathing both ragged, fighting the growing feeling but we know none of us wanting to completely halt.
Suddenly, Yeonjun gripped the hair on the back of my head and spoke. "Have you decided to stop being a brat, huh?" I glared at him. I know I should not be doing this but I am so curious of what this could bring to the both of us. His lips clashed onto mine, kissing me like a beast found its prey. Starving. That's how I can describe the way we kissed each other. Our tongues unconsciously moving and doing their thing.
The next thing I know, I was sitting on top of the work table, my shirt and skirt now torn and tossed across the room as well as my underwear while Yeonjun's left with his underwear. He sucked my nipples, three of his fingers stretching and curled inside me while the other hand played with my other breast. I gave his cock a firm squeeze and pulled his underwear down when I felt him twitch and groan, revealing his member. I ran my hand on it, realizing that this is really happening. I was still thinking whether I can take him because he really was big. He made me kneel in front of him and I did not hesitate to take his cock in my mouth. He groaned and threw his head back in pleasure. My mouth waters just from the thought of him cumming in my mouth. "You're taking me so well, sweetheart." His words made my eyes roll to the back of my head and moan. I pulled, making a pop sound when I let go of his head which I guess turned him on and fucked my mouth. "Yeah, that's what that mouth do, hm." I am gagging but I don't care.
Yeonjun pulled out when I felt him twitching and held me up on the bed. He flipped me over, making my front lay on the bed and perked my ass up. Before I knew it, he licked a stripe up my cunt making me moan. When I pleaded and cursed from pleasure, I only earned a slap on my ass. "You have used your mouth too much today. Don't tell me what to do and don't curse. You got that, hm, sweetheart?" I can't say anything anymore, my breathing is uneven and I can feel a foreign sensation building. When Yeonjun noticed this, he pulled away making me groan in frustration.
"Impatient baby." He showered kisses on my back and flipped me over. Now we're facing each other, he gripped the back of my thighs while he rubbed his tip on my folds, the sensation I felt slowly dying down. "Tell me if I need to stop, m'kay." I hummed in response before he started pushing his member in me. My mouth opened agape when he's already balls deep inside. He hasn't even moved, yet we're both moaning in pleasure. Yeonjun wrapped his hand on my neck and pulled completely only to slam himself deeply back again. I held onto his forearm. Two of his fingers on my neck made its way in my mouth, sucking on it while he pounded on me. He was gentle not to hurt me but I guess it was his length and girth that made it so torturously good, I can feel my legs shake. I held his cheeks and his forehead rested on mine. "Fuck, Y/N, you're so damn beautiful." Kisses were shared again and our tongues fought. When that foreign feeling started growing again, his name came out of my mouth more frequently and I felt myself clench even tighter. His pace slowed down but his thrusts grew deeper each time until I reached my high. He kissed me down my neck and a train of curses left his mouth when he finally reached his own high, his hot fluid filling me. Our bodies stayed together for a while before he decided to get up and run the water in the tub. We cleaned ourselves before going back to bed and rest.
"I'm sorry again, Y/N that I stormed out my stress in you. I love you so so much. You mean the world to me." He cooed beside me and I snuggled to his chest.
"I'm sorry too, Yeonjunnie. I can't believe I cursed so much. And I love you very, very very much." And the thought of how much I love him hit me again. My love for Yeonjun is too much, it's immeasurable and I know the same thing goes for him. And just like my other emotions, my love for him overflows.

❥ playground! (ep. 2)
⤷ ellie’s moments in playground episode 2! (ft. txt <3)
⤷ bulletpoint format!
⤷ after a long wait, episode 2 is finally out! don’t forget to leave suggestions for new fics!!!
Tumblr media
“HOW THE HECK DID YOU BEAT ME AGAIN.”
huening and ellie were once again playing on the nintendo, waiting on the others to finish getting ready for the next shoot.
“ellie please. please let me win. just this once...for my dignity.”
the boy gets on the floor and starts bowing.
ellie starts freaking out, obvi.
“NO PLEASE DON’T BOW!”
she’s in a very frantic state at this very moment, no clue why...but, i mean it’s ellie...right?
“what’re you guys playing?”, “oh- um- mario k-”
ellie looks up from her position, DUN DUN DUN.
that was like...really cringe, i’m so sorry.
it was none other than the choi beomgyu. standing. right. in. front. of. her.
“oh- oh my god- uh- h- he- hello!” she musters up a greeting and quickly bows.
“you don’t need to bow ellie! we’re friends!”
oh no, this poor girl’s heart.
if she dies from an early heart attack, it was bcs of choi beomgyu, just giving everyone a heads up! /j
anyways, her face was like BEET red.
from across the room, her members were watching her every move.
sunoo was laughing at how serious the rest of them were.
“can you guys like...idk...calm down? she’s literally fine.”
“i know, but...” (jake)
“but what?” (sunoo)
“oh you know...” (jungwon)
“can ya’ll finish the damn sentence?” (sunoo and jay)
“it’s nothing...” (sunghoon)
“jesus christ, you guys are insane.” (sunoo)
“five minutes!”
ellie’s head shoots up.
“darn it, i almost beat you.”
“not even close huening, ellie is the master.”
her cheeks, once again, burn up.
before she could thank beomgyu, ellie is pulled away by jungwon.
“what the heck wonie?”
“it’s time to go.”
she’s obviously very confused? what was getting into him?
choosing to ignore his attitude, ellie obliges and lets the boy drag her into the studio.
he spoke no words...very odd.
ellie started overthinking...did she do something subconsciously???
“places please!” she massages her temples and goes backstage to wait for her group’s cue.
the episode started with each group dancing on stage.
their instructions were to “have fun!”
she gave it her ALL, messing around...and even getting into a dance battle with riki.
she found it absolutely hilarious, but unfortunately, her face dropped at the sight of jungwon.
obviously, something was bothering him, but she didn’t have the courage to ask...at least not now when everyone seemed to be having fun.
jungwon was not one to show his emotions outwardly, so to a normal person, he seemed like his usual self.
but, ellie knows better, she can read jungwon like the back of her hand...something was up.
she made a mental note to herself to ask him if he was ok after the shoot.
the first game was an absolute BLAST.
they were competing to see which team they would have to play on.
since there was an odd number of people, ellie didn’t have to compete against anyone. instead, she got to choose which team she wanted to be on.
(she secretly enjoyed it)
she looked at the two teams in front of her.
her original plan was to go into the yellow team so both teams would have an equal amount of enhypen members, but she felt iffy about doing so because of jungwon...
she could possibly be overthinking things, but she didn’t want to take any risks.
making eye contact with him one last time, she looks over at the red team and points finger guns at them.
“yay ellie!” beomgyu seemed way more enthusiastic than everyone else.
of course, ellie’s heart rate quickens at the weird observation.
the team name choosing was absolutely wonderful.
beomgyu came up with ‘brave dummies’ and for some reason everyone went with it, not that ellie was complaining because it was REALLY funny.
this episode required a lot more physical activity than the last one, which she had no problem with.
she led her team to victory during the first game with the tubes and ping pong ball.
got picked up by beomgyu hai!
wait wait wait...let me set the scene for you guys because...it was something else.
after winning the race, the 7 teammates all did a group hug, ellie being shoved into the middle while the rest ferociously chanted “ellie! ellie! ellie!”
kinda scary...looked like a cult from the outside lol.
she was so confused.
all of a sudden, a figure picks her up from behind and starts cheering very loudly.
she looked absolutely terrified because she had no. clue. what. was. going. on.
and when this poor girl turns her head back to look at the person carrying her, all bodily organs in her shut down.
her eyes went blurry and suddenly she couldn’t see, her kidneys failed, her limbs detached from her body...it was insane.
jay and sunoo, being the teasers they were, laughed at the look of the flustered girl.
it was...so much.
when beomgyu put her down, she felt her life flash before her eyes.
she still couldn’t believe what just happened, placing a hand on her forehead to see if she was sick??? for some reason.
she literally could NOT think straight after that.
the rest of the episode felt like a blur.
during the flag game, she failed oh so miserably...
“you ok?” jay teasingly asks her.
“leave me alone.” *cue her side eye*
“hehe.” (jay)
she felt so bad for doing so badly during the game, she kept apologizing :’).
“ellie! its ok! none of us did good :)” thank god for yeonjun.
she had to lay her head down onto ni-ki’s shoulders because she felt so defeated.
ni-ki responded by hugging her by the waist.
“don’t worry, i did horrible too.”
she hummed and pouted.
the screaming from the others made her feel a lot better.
“there’s that smile!” sunoo squeezes her cheeks.
the other team won, obviously.
she examined jungwon, he seemed like he was doing a lot better, seeing him enjoy himself was all the reassurance ellie needed.
oh good god...the next game...hahahaha.
it was...hai!
they had a piece of paper in which they had to fit all their teammates on, it was...intense.
she tried standing in the middle of jake and ni-ki, but was pulled by kim sunoo to stand in between him and beomgyu.
she froze up, god...can’t you just act normally ellie? (this was to herself btw ;) )
she tried not to think about the close proximity between her and beomgyu, instead giving her all into the game.
“ellie, it’s alright, step on my foot.” yeonjun tells her.
“are you sure?”
“yes of course.”
she cautiously steps on his foot, making sure not to put too much weight into it.
they got past a good amount of rounds, the last one is where they REALLY struggled.
“i have an idea!”
ellie announces while clapping her hands.
“i think if we put our feet in this pattern...”
she shows what she means by using her own feet as an example.
“it would save space...we can hold onto each other for balance like all the other rounds and our other foot can come up. the foot on the ground will serve as a stabilizer.”
“that’s SUCH a smart idea!” yeonjun smiles at her.
“thanks!”
jake couldn’t resist it...it came as an automatic reflex. he moves his hand around to squeeze her cheeks.
“miss smarty pants saves us yet again!” (jake)
she glares at him and hits his arm.
(there was a slight smile on her face though)
with ellie’s strategy, their team wins yet again!!!
they huddled into a group hug while the other team groaned in defeat.
“ellie should’ve joined our team!” soobin yells.
she giggles.
the final game was a big round of yut nori, which ellie still had NO CLUE how to play.
“do you know how to play?” beomgyu asks her.
“not really?”
“no worries, leave it to us!”
ellie blushes...yk...the usual.
ellie didn’t do much through out the game, following whatever the others told her to do.
by the end of it, you’d think she’d know how to play, right? wrong!
she still, to this day, doesn’t know how to play yut nori :))).
she was sad as the shooting ended, knowing that they probably won’t be able to shoot together with txt for a LONG while.
it was so very fun getting to hang out with her seniors, though beomgyu was a bit too much.
after they said their goodbyes on camera, it was time to say goodbye off camera.
soobin suggested that they make a gc together, to which everyone happily agreed to!
beomgyu asked ellie for her number, which she shouldn’t have though much about considering he was the one making the groupchat for them, but a girl can dream right?
after hugging everyone goodbye, her group moved back into their dressing room.
“i’m exhausted.” sunghoon mentions.
ellie’s eyes did feel heavy.
the 8 of them have been shooting all day and they could all probably agree that what they needed now was a nice long nap.
she moved over to where sunghoon was laying down and tapped the boy to ask him to scoot over so she could lay down as well.
the girl cuddled into sunghoons warmth.
“sooo, you and beomgyu, huh.”
“why? are you jealous?”
“maybe...but you know who is Very jealous right now? and who you should probably talk to bcs he’s definitely upset?”
her eyes widen, finally realizing.
“oh my god, i gotta go.”
she climbs out of sunghoon’s embrace.
“i was comfortable ellie!”
“yeah yeah!”
she runs out the dressing room, frantically searching for jungwon.
she accidentally bumps into beomgyu.
“woah there, where are you going???”
“i’m so sorry! uh- i have to go talk to jungwon about something, i can’t really stay for long...”
beomgyu nods his head and motions for her to go.
she finally finds jungwon at a vending machine, grabbing two drinks.
“yang!”
she finally reaches him and drops her body down to catch her breath.
“i’m so sorry.”
“about what?”
“sunghoon said you were upset with me about something...and i wan- (deep breath) i wanted you to know that no one will ever replace you or any (deep breath) any of the other members (deep breath).”
jungwon stays silent for a bit before chuckling at the sight of the girl’s state.
“oh ellie...” he gently makes her look up by her chin, “don’t worry about it, i knew you would never do that...i just got jealous seeing you blush at beomgyu so much...”
the last part was barely audible, but ellie understood.
she giggles, “i didn’t know mr. yang was the jealous type!”
he glares at her, “whatever.”
she smiles and hugs him by the neck.
“let’s go back, we’re heading home soon.”
ellie pulls jungwon by the hands.
“wait,” he fishes for the two drinks still left in the vending machine, “this is for you.”
it was strawberry milk, her favorite.
“thank you, kind sir.”
the two walked back hand in hand.
“is wonie feeling better~” heeseung teased.
jungwon mocks his face.
“time to head back!” their manager calls out.
“god i cannot wait to sleep.” ellie groans.
“ellie~ can i sleep next to you tonight?” ni-ki pleads with his eyes.
“why not sunoo?”
“he wanted to switch it up today, apparently.” sunoo clings his arms with ellie’s.
“i mean of course you can riki, just promise me you’ll actually sleep and not watch videos all night.” ellie stares at him.
“promise.”
she smiles and hooks her free arm around his.
“now...let’s go home.”

when you wear his clothes | TXT
Group: Tomorrow x Together
Notes: enjoy this lil fluff piece~
Tumblr media
Choi Yeonjun
-yeonjun knew how you loved to wear his shirts, the material being larger than you always made you feel protected in them
-so it was no surprise that whenever he comes over to your place to stay the night, there would always be a piece of clothing he would claim be ‘accidentally’ left there
-it wasn't like you minded, anyway, it was no lie that your boyfriend loved seeing you in them as well
-his favorite one had to be the plain white shirt, one he had actually worn plenty of times when you had started dating him, but in the end had ended up in your possession after countless of times he had stayed over
-”cute,” yeonjun chuckles when you had met up with him at a cafe for your usual sunday dates, seeing you wear his favorite white shirt, “i wonder what the material is? oh that's right, boyfriend material,”
-which will lead you to give him a smack on the arm, causing him to chuckle
-because that was exactly what he had said on your first date as well, when he had been wearing the exact same shirt, and for some reason was now your usual hello whenever you met up, followed by a gentle kiss afterwards
-not that you minded, anyway
Choi Soobin
-soobin owned a bunch of hoodies, you knew your boyfriend got cold really easily, and he was never one for fashion, so it was understandable for him to own so many
-and the pros of having a boyfriend that owned a plethora of hoodies? you were able to steal some without him noticing
-right?
-wrong
-apparently, soobin was attached to all of his hoodies, so whenever he sees you leaving with one of his hoodies, he would instantly whine and pout, calling you a hoodie thief
-but you know, despite him not saying it, that he likes it. especially with the way he whines into your neck when he hugs you before you leave in his hoodie, you know he always lingers a bit with an idiotic smile on his face
-another pro of having a boyfriend with countless amounts of hoodies that he wears a bunch of times is that it smells just like him, like pastries and the bakery he frequents at; and the crumbs that sometimes cover it just explains it more
-overall, soobin is a sucker to see you in his hoodie, so do it more
Choi Beomgyu
-your boyfriend was really into soft material, like the soft person at heart he is, and despite thinking he was into dark clothing like the ones he wore the first time you met outside of school, you were quite shocked when you had raided his closet and only found soft outfits
-primarily, cardigans, which is what beomgyu usually wears whenever you go out ever since you had found out your boyfriend’s little secret
-beomgyu was a cheesy person, so it really wasn’t a surprise when it was him who initiated you wearing his cardigans
-”it’s cold, wear this!” beomgyu beams adorably when you both had been strolling out at night one day, just before the winter season had invited itself onto the streets of seoul
-”don’t worry, beomie, we’re almost there,” you laughed at his enthusiasm, and when he had merely stopped in his tracks and pouted like a child, you had to suppress rolling your eyes
-he truly was an endearing individual
-”alright, alright,” you sigh, a small smile on your face when beomgyu’s eyes light up and wrap you in his favorite pink cardigan, the sleeves rolling past your fingers
-beomgyu grabs your hands and places a soft kiss on them, “that’s better!”
-he surely is a romantic one, you must say
Kang Taehyun
-it had all started when you had told him you had nothing to match with him for a party yeonjun was holding, and he had offered you his denim jacket which he had owned that was just your size, probably slightly longer, for the night
-only for it to end up in your laundry for the following day, and the next, and the week after until it had became something you owned
-taehyun was not always vocal about the ways he showed love and it was never a problem to you, but the way he had almost every weekend told you to switch jackets with another jacket he owned- simply because the one you had lost his scent already- had made your heart swell with happiness
-taehyun loved it when he sees you wearing his jacket, especially when he sees you in pictures when you were out with your friends
-because it was a piece of him he had left with you, and it was something you had treasured deeply
Huening Kai
-kai had an odd habit of leaving his sweaters out in the open whenever he comes over to your place, your boyfriend wasn’t known to be a messy person, but for some reason, he always brings more than one sweater on a cold night even if he wasn’t even staying over
-the reason for that being in the form of a night where your boyfriend had commented on a couple on tv that was wearing matching outfits, claiming that, aren’t they cute! let's match too, y/nie! I brought my sweater for you!
-and the sweater you had ended up with was a light blue one, a small print of a penguin on the chest pocket, and it had originally belonged to kai. it had started when he had asked you to choose out of his closet, and you had shook your head and pointed to the one he was wearing, and he (although with much pouting) had gave to you
-it had started as wanting to go out with matching outfits for the day and ended with you actually liking the sweater, and started wearing it more than once, and in the end refused to return it back to your curly haired boyfriend
-which honestly, doesn't bother kai at all. especially when he comes running to you with a happy, “that's my sweater!” whenever he sees you wearing it, embracing you in a hug that always left you warmer than the material itself

Unexpected Envy (Part Two) - Jimin
This ending is incredibly cheesy and fluffy (dare I say almost cringey haha) but I hope you enjoy it :)
Part One
-------------------------------------
*Jimin third person POV*
Jimin couldn't stop worrying the whole way home. He didn't realize how tightly he was grasping onto the steering wheel of his Porsche until he parked and took his hands off it, seeing that his knuckles and fingers were bright white.
He wasn't sure why he was feeling the way he was; he just knew he felt irritated, sad and concerned all at once.
When he got inside he removed his make up and colored contacts and changed into sweatpants and a white t shirt. He kept checking his phone, seeing if you needed rescuing or if Yeonjun had gotten on your nerves. But there always was nothing. Just the Mickey Mouse face of his lock screen wallpaper staring back at him, making him feel like he was being mocked.
He took his phone into his room and laid on his bed, staring up at the white ceiling. The image of you tonight in that beautiful black dress that complimented your body so well floated into his mind. It made him smile. But then he saw you again, gripping Yeonjun's forearm, telling him you weren't leaving, picking Yeonjun over him. He suddenly felt nauseous and his heart started pounding. He checked his phone again, paying extra attention to the time. It was already 11:30pm... how much longer were you going to be out? When would you be home?
Then a horrible thought entered his mind. What if you didn't come back to the apartment tonight at all? What if Yeonjun had charmed his way into you and took you to his place? Jimin had never known you to have a one night stand, or sleep with someone you just met, but what if he didn’t know you as well as he thought he did? What if things had changed?
He shot up from his bed and felt a sudden wave of dizziness, the blood rushing to his head. He ran his hand through his hair and sighed. He couldn't just lay here and think about you with Yeonjun. He was going to drive himself mad.
Still, he couldn't help but type a text message to you:
‘11:32 p.m.
Hey, I made it home. Are you ok? Let me know if I need to come get you.’
He didn't care if he sounded needy. He felt needy. He just wanted you to know that he cared...
...and make sure you knew he would come get you instead of have you end up going somewhere else...
Jimin then locked his phone and made a promise to himself not to check it unless he felt it vibrate in his pocket. He strolled out to the living room, sat on the couch and turned on the tv, attempting to clear his mind of all his confusing worries. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep until you were home. He would wait up until morning for you to come back if he had to.
*Your POV*
Around 1:30am you quietly unlocked the front door to Jimin's apartment, assuming he was asleep as you hadn't heard from him for 2 hours or so. The door clicked shut behind you; the light from the hallway fading and leaving you in pitch darkness. You hadn't memorized the layout of his place yet, so you grabbed your phone out of your coat pocket and turned on the flashlight.
As soon as you raised it up to illuminate your way, a face appeared in the bright white light.
You let out a yelp, backing up and slamming your elbow on the doorknob behind you.
"Ow, Jesus, Jimin, what the hell?" you cried out, holding the spot that had been hit, "I thought you would be asleep."
"I wanted to make sure you made it back okay." he responded flatly.
"Well I had until now," you mumbled, rubbing your elbow.
Jimin retreated further into the apartment and you followed, stumbling a little as you had had a few more drinks at the party and their effects hadn't completely worn off yet.
As you walked into the living room you realized how much your feet were killing you from all the dancing you had done in the heels you were wearing. You bent down to take them off, but suddenly felt dizzy and lost your balance. You were sure you were about to make a fool of yourself and fall onto the floor, but before you knew it you felt strong hands grab hold of your waist before you could fall. You looked up into Jimin's face just inches from yours. He looked concerned and a little annoyed. Your cheeks flushed and you looked away.
"Are you drunk?" he suddenly asked, letting go of you and stepping back.
You shook your head and stepped out of your shoes, blisters already forming on your feet. You shrugged.
"No, I mean, maybe a little... I-I don't know. I feel fine."
Jimin sighed and ran a hand through his ash blonde hair.
"You should have just left when I did, (y/n)." he said in a disappointed manner.
There he was, sounding so controlling again. What was his problem?
"I told you, I wanted to stay. I had fun."
Jimin looked at you, his expression cold as ice.
"So you had fun with Yeonjun?"
You nodded.
"Yes. Yes I did. He's very sweet, and polite and a great dancer."
Were you purposely describing Yeonjun similarly to Jimin to try and make him jealous? Maybe. The slight buzz you still had was clouding your judgement.
Jimin's eyes narrowed and he licked his lips while running his hand through his hair again. Then he turned away and sat back down on the couch.
"Do you think you'll see him again?" he muttered quietly, not making eye contact.
Although he had offered, you hadn't taken Yeonjun's number, hadn't made any plans to see him again. It was just all too soon. You didn't think it would have been fair to him. Your heart still belonged to someone else.
Someone else sitting right in front of you.
You shrugged.
"Maybe."
Jimin responded with a “hmm”, just staring at the tv in front of him that was playing late night infomercials.
There was a pause as you just stared at your best friend, unable to read his emotions.
"Okay, well, thank you Jimin-ah, for having me as your plus one tonight. I'm really tired so I think I'll head to bed. Thanks for waiting up for me, too." You gave him a small smile before turning around and heading into the guest room, heels in hand.
You changed into pajama shorts and an oversized t shirt, then went into the adjoining bathroom to get ready for bed. You looked at yourself in the mirror; much of your make up had faded from time and the sweat of the dance floor. Your once perfectly styled hair was now slightly wavy and frizzy. Your cheeks were red from the effects of all the alcohol. You sighed, grabbing a make up remover wipe and swiping it across your face until your natural self was looking back at you. At that moment you couldn't help the thoughts that began to creep into your mind.
Yeonjun was clearly interested in me. He's an idol, too. He's willing to try. Why won't Jimin? Why doesn't Jimin want me?
Your eyes started brimming with tears, you cheeks getting blotchier. How were you supposed to continue being Jimin's friend when you felt this way? Everything just felt so awkward. You wished you could just go back in time and stop yourself from telling him how you truly felt.
A sudden knock at the bedroom door interrupted your thoughts. You quickly splashed some cold water on your hot face, attempting to hide the fact that you were almost in tears.
"Come in," you said softly, walking back out into the bedroom.
Jimin opened the door slightly before stepping inside.
"Hey," he said, looking at the floor.
"Hi." you replied, your heart pounding.
What did he want? Was he here to finally talk about how off your friendship had been over the past week? Did he not want to be your friend anymore? Your mind was going a mile a minute.
He walked over and sat on the end of the bed, still not looking up at you. He ran a hand through his hair again and then rubbed his face before speaking.
"I-I don't..."
Don't say it, don't say it.
"I don't want you to see Yeonjun again."
Huh?
You couldn’t believe what you were hearing.
He finally looked up at you, a look of plea in his dark brown eyes.
"I don't.... really know what to say, Jimin. It's not really your call to make."
He cocked his head and knitted his brows together.
"You don't want your best friend's opinion?"
You scoffed.
"First of all, it sounded more like a demand. Secondly, in this regard, who I see and who I don't... well I don't really think your opinion is valid. Especially since-"
You stopped before you could finish, feeling your stomach get in knots.
"Since what?" Jimin asked softly.
You folded your arms across your chest and looked at the floor.
"Come on, Jimin, you know what..."
He shook his head.
"I have no idea what you're talking about, (y/n)."
He couldn't be serious.
You suddenly felt furious, all your emotions building up inside at once.
"Jimin! Come on! You-you don't want me! Therefore who I choose to date and not to date is really not up to you! You can't keep me from other people just because you don't want to be with me!"
You couldn't stop the tears from falling this time. Jimin immediately rushed to you and pulled you into arms, your head laying in the crook of his neck. You hated that you let yourself be comforted by him, but it felt so familiar and safe.
"(y/n), look at me. Please look at me."
You looked up at his handsome face, his full lips, the strands of bangs that fell over his eyes. He looked sad, almost like he was going to cry, too.
He cupped your cheek in his hand, wiping a tear away with the pad of his thumb.
"I-I do want you (y/n). I do want to be with you," he closed his eyes tightly, "Aiish, if you even knew how jealous of Yeonjun I was tonight. How happy you seemed dancing with him. How he made you smile. I miss that, I miss us! And I don't want you to ever dance with another man like that again or-or have him make you smile like that. It killed me. I was a mess when I left without you. All I could see in my mind was the two of you together, wondering if you were even going to come home tonight. I was afraid I had lost you as a best friend, which only made me realize how much I want to truly be with you, how much I wanted it to be me and only me..." he trailed off, burying his face in his hands to hide the tears that had welled up in them.
You stared at him in shock through blurry tears.
"But Jimin..." you quivered, "what about what you said last week? About how I deserve someone who can focus fully on me? "
Jimin shook his head and looked into your eyes, wiping his tears away with the back of his hand.
“I think... I was afraid, because you do deserve someone who can do that... and so much more. But (y/n), I want to try. Please. You mean the world to me, and I don't ever want to feel the way I felt tonight again. We've managed to stay friends all this time, and now with you closer than ever, I really think we can make it work. I want to give you my everything because you are my everything."
You nodded slowly, letting a few more tears falling down your warm cheeks.
Jimin lifted your chin to look at him.
"I love you, (y/n). And I'm so sorry this is what it took to make me realize it."
You stared up into his dark eyes, hope and sincerity behind them.
“I love you, too, Jimin. But I need you to be sure you’re capable of this, that this is truly what you want. A week ago you didn’t feel this way, right? And I can’t lose our friendship, I can’t lose you. I don’t want to get hurt.”
He bit his bottom lip and looked deep into your eyes, a pained expression on his face.
“I won’t hurt you. Never. This is what I want. I want you. Please, (y/n), give me a chance to prove it to you.”
He tucked a piece of hair behind your ear and looked down at your lips before slowly pulling your face to meet his. You loved the feeling of his soft, luscious lips on yours. It was something you had only ever dreamed of for so long. It felt so comfortable, yet so passionate and new.
You pulled away and was met with a big Jimin smile. You couldn't help smiling back.
He laid his forehead on yours and closed his eyes.
“I will strive to make you the happiest person in the world, (y/n). Every day. Okay?” he whispered to you.
You nodded against him, relishing in the feeling of being this close to the man you had loved for so long.
Then you pulled back, a grin on your face.
"Do you think we should thank Yeonjun? Send him some flowers or-or a collection of BTS CDs?" you joked.
Jimin laughed, crashing his body into yours in typical Jimin fashion.
Then he gently grabbed your face again and shook his head back and forth.
"No, no,no," he giggled, "not a chance."
And you two shared another wonderful kiss.
