AND WE MADE YOU PAIRS || coming soon ||
──── a homelander x muslim oc story.
✰ summary - Homelander’s mission in Syria puts him in direct conflict with Noura, an activist working to protect her country from foreign interference. Although their initial encounters are fraught with tension, over time they develop a begrudging respect for one another. Homelander is drawn to Noura’s fearlessness and conviction, while she catches glimpses of humanity in him.
When Noura’s town faces annihilation, Homelander must make a choice. Will he remain the military’s loyal wardog, or will he do something good for once in his life?
✰ warnings - stalking, obsessive behavior, mental instability, cruel and unusual punishments, breaches of the Geneva Convention, war and everything it implies basically, bigotry and prejudice.

ok about the teen wolf movie
Getting it out of the way firstly; it's not the worst teen wolf media out there. If it was a season, it would rival the fifth season and as a film it sits comfortably on top of the teen wolf 2 movie. It's very nostalgic, both good and bad nostalgic, and it managed to do both Scott and Derek justice to their characters - the proverbial top dogs.
Now, onto the actual badness
Weak magic system, often with unexplained effects and processes between ritual and product. The banshee got even more powers is what I mean. The nogitsune also evolves into a deity, no longer the strategic beast it tried to be, and the once convoluted ghost like objectives are shamefully simplified. Sterek is hinted at, at least in a platonic one sided sense, followed shortly by the death of Derek. Some series characters seem to never have existed in the movie. They threw Malia at even ANOTHER older man and expected us to just go with it. Liam forgets how to speak for one and a half hours (they probably didn't know what to do with him). Lydia is just.... You know... A big ol plot device with no human emotions until the very end.
As for as the quality bits
Peter Hale is still a himbo and a loose canon that cares ONLY for his nephew, in a weird endearing way. Scott is at his best mind game, fully realized and pulling some interesting out of the box solutions, not to mention his delicious delicious messiah complex that reach new heights. Alison is back and is a better villain than half the antagonists we've seen so far, really putting that argent rep to proof. Derek's kid Eli is basically his love child with Stiles and a surprisingly good and rounded character. Jackson is comedy gold, even if his powers are nerfed. Malia swears a lot? And it's oddly fitting for her character sometimes. Parrish butt!!! I did a little cry at the Derek memorial and it was nice to feel something for once.
My conclusion is; there is enough bad that the critics are validated for the most part, but there are enough genuine teen wolf moments that I believe you should watch for yourself and make your mind about it. It's definitely not a waste of time; teen wolf rarely is, even the cringy first movie (which I have a soft spot for ngl). It shines where it's personal and human and absolutely botches everything else, but there is an effort™ and we owe them at least the time of the day, specially if you loved the media like I did.
5/10, will watch again eventually, suffers from an acute lack of Deucalion or else it could be 6/10.

Ahhh a new AA writer!!! Welcome!!! Do you think you might be able to do some general hc’s for being in a relationship with Gumshoe??? Please and thank you! He doesn’t get anywhere near the amount of love he deserves.
WOAH THANKS!! and absolutely anon, UR 100000% RIGHT!!! Gumshoe does not get enough rep around here and it's UNBELIEVABLE!!! but how did u know to send in a Gumshoe request... like i didn't think that my love for him was that obvious...
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Gumshoe would definitely want to start eating lunch with you once you two start dating. Being able to see you during the day, even if it’s just for a little while, gives him enough motivation to make it through the rest of the day with a smile on his face and a pep in his step. If you want, he’d even make you lunches— Sandwiches, of course (his specialty). He’ll pack it in a classic paper bag and slip in a note as well, eagerly waiting for you to read it when the time comes around. ‎‎‎‎
While he doesn’t have a lot of money to begin with, Gumshoe would want to buy you gifts, preferably flowers. He’s not too good with floral arrangements, so he’ll usually just give you a single flower instead of a large bouquet. To him, gifts are a symbol of affection and care, and being able to see your face light up upon receiving a singular (albeit slightly smushed) rose or tulip makes his entire day. He’ll get you other small trinkets as well such as keychains, mugs or miniature plushies too, because it’s the thought that counts rather than the size and cost. ‎‎‎‎‎‎
Gumshoe’s a pretty friendly guy, so he’s certain to be on good terms with your family. If you have any younger siblings, he’ll show them all these neat gadgets that he built, and when he’s able to, he’d bring along Missile to introduce to them. Gumshoe would always try to impress your parents or parental figures and will do his very best to get along with them in order to prove that he’s worth the role of your boyfriend. He’s the one for you, he swears! ‎‎‎‎‎
Gumshoe enjoys taking pictures with you! He likes to pick out his favorites of the both of you to put into his wallet, and whenever he’s going through a particularly tough case, he’ll take a look at them to relieve his stress, even if it’s just a little bit. The pictures remind him that he has someone waiting for him at the end of the day! You’re a motivating figure in his life! Your happy expression makes his heart soar! ...If he has the time, he’d even try to put together a scrapbook with the pictures you both have taken to surprise you, but with his big hands and clumsy movements, you might just have to help him out. ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎
If you’re caught up as a witness or suspect in a particularly dreadful case, then Gumshoe will do whatever he can to get himself assigned to that case, and then from there, he’ll do everything in his power to get you outta there safe and sound! ...Which, in turn, might make him act a bit more impulsively because his desire to protect you will clash with his role as a detective. He’d be worrying about you constantly, so imagine his relief when the case wraps up! He’d give you a giant bear hug and ask you if you’re okay, and after that, he’d want to treat you to dinner. If the case was something that Phoenix was handling, then Gumshoe would invite you to eat dinner with him, Phoenix, and Maya! ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎
Gumshoe is very proud of you and being able to be with you. While he won’t exactly brag about you, he’ll bring you up in conversations quite often and will definitely talk you up to whoever will listen. He’s proud of whatever accomplishments you make no matter how small and will always support you throughout your career as well as in day-to-day life. You’re just so incredibly cool, and while he’ll be more embarrassed when complimenting you right to your face in comparison to the cheesy things he says in front of others, he’s always honest with what he thinks of you and what you are to him. Gumshoe’s not too good with lying in the first place, so you don’t have to worry about him hiding anything from you.

Baby Boy Chapter 8 | Lando Norris
Summary: Milana Navratilova is the best friend of Victoria Verstappen, and is for lack of a better word, a minx. She can pull anyone into bed with her at any time. So when she attends the Austrian Grand Prix with Victoria, the drivers make for good bedfellows. Until she finds a man who makes her finally feel like herself. Her baby boy.
Taglist: @its-astrotea-love
Warnings: smut, swearing, non-con kiss (will be a chapter warning for that one), OC is a w h o r e and i love her.
Tumblr media
Victoria and Milana walked through the bustling paddock on Thursday, reporters, journalists, PR reps, and drivers were all running around to fill their media duties, as after today, the sole focus would be on getting the best results before the short summer break. Victoria took a turn to visit Lewis in the Mercedes hospitality, and a few moments after, Milana spotted Lando sitting at a table on his own outside of his own team’s gorgeous facility. Milana walked up behind him, and after spotting how tensely he was sitting, she chuckled to herself - she was going to scare the shit out of him. Ensuring her footsteps were silent, she snuck up behind the driver and slid her hands over his shoulders and down to his chest, whispering a husky ‘boo’ into his ear as he leapt forward and squealed. Milana laughed loudly, the first time Lando had heard her laugh this hard, with no worries. She calmed down, a few giggles still escaping her maroon lips as she ushered him to sit back where he was.
“You’re mean.” Lando pouted, his voice sounding like a sulking child’s. Milana’s heart skipped a beat, admiring how adorable the boy seemed to be without even trying.
“I’m sorry, baby boy. I’ll make it up to you.” Milana apologised, beginning to rub his shoulders with her small hands. Lando’s shoulders immediately relaxed, his breath coming out in one long sigh as he forgot about the stress of the upcoming weekend, and simply focused on the euphoria this small, foreign woman was giving him.
“Fuck, you’re so good at that. Don’t stop.” Lando almost moaned. Milana felt her heart beat a little quicker, her stomach fluttering. She had never been affected by praise, as many of her previous bedfellows had attempted it, and it just never seemed to do anything for her. But from Lando, God it was so much better. Milana remained quiet, occasionally humming a song Victoria had played a few times over the few days they had been in Austria together. Her hands continued kneading into the tense muscles in Lando’s neck and shoulders.
“Thank you Mila. I didn’t know I needed that. Come sit down, I wanna get to know you more.” Lando stopped her after another few moments, rolling his neck around and sighing in relief. Milana smiled at the nickname, the only one she had ever been given from her name was Lana, so Lando having his own name for her released another round of butterflies into her stomach.
“There isn’t much to know, unfortunately. I’m pretty boring, baby boy.” Milana told him, taking a seat on the outdoor chair adjacent to his at the small square table.
“Why do you give everyone pet names? I don’t think I’ve heard you call anyone their names when you talk to them.” Lando’s head was tilted like a puppy, those light eyes of his filled with curiosity.
“It always made me feel special when I was younger when someone would call me pet names. I guess I just got so comfortable with them that I don’t really see the romanticism behind it anymore? But obviously, some I reserve for special people. Keep the integrity.” Milana spoke, looking off to the busy thoroughfare of the paddock.
“What are your special ones then?” Lando probed, his main purpose was to determine whether or not his name was sacred.
“Love, it’s one of my absolute favourites to be called, but not many people use it anymore. But other than that, it's just the baby’s. Obviously, Victoria is ‘baby girl’, and she calls me babe so it’s kind of our thing. And then, baby boy.” Milana’s face lit up as she imagined being called love by someone who truly meant it, but her voice got quieter as she continued. Lando heard everything though, and smirked when he saw just how shy Milana became when she revealed the significance of his pet name.
“Ok, enough with the pet names. I know literally zero about you, I should be able to ask questions too.” Milana pouted slightly, a very rare sight as she was usually smirking or biting her lip. Lando couldn’t resist her when she looked at him like that, her dark eyes staring up at him, bottom lip slightly pushed out, it made him weak at the knees. Lando nodded, so Milana began trying to think of a question to ask the man.
“Why do you race F1?” Milana asked after a few beats of silence. Lando’s eyebrows shot up, he wasn’t expecting a question like that, more along the lines of ‘what’s your favourite colour’ but he couldn’t complain, playing the standard 21 questions with girls got boring after ninth grade.
“The control. I am the only one that has the control to operate that car. It’s me. I thrive off the pressure, if I fuck up, it’s on me. But it's exhilarating, having all of the power, being the one in charge. It fuels me. There isn’t much else in the world I can control like I can an F1 car.” Lando’s fists were clenched tightly as he began talking about control, and Milana could see part of herself in that.
“You’re really cute when you talk about something you’re passionate about.” Milana stated, and Lando’s head snapped around to look at her, she looked completely comfortable with telling him he was cute, whereas Lando’s face was hot like fire, and he knew he probably looked ridiculous.
“Ok, so what do you do?” Lando moved on, his face was still hotter than hell, but he was determined to move on and try to come to terms with the fact that the most beautiful woman he had ever met thought he was cute.
“I work in an art gallery in Prague, and I’m studying anthropology.” Milana replied, unimpressed with her current occupations. She just wanted to be out in the anthropology field already, she loved everything she was learning and just wanted to put it into practice.
“How old are you? I just realised I have absolutely no idea.” Lando blurted, it was the first thing he thought of when Mila mentioned she was still at university.
“I’m 19.” She replied simply. Lando’s entire head moved forward, as if to say ‘I’m sorry, I don’t think I heard you, can you please say whatever insane thing you just said again?’. Milana giggled at his perplexed expression. Lando for sure thought the Czech was at least a year older than him, but now he has to find out that she’s actually two years younger.
“You’re so much more mature than I was when I was 19. I was still struggling to cook food for myself without burning the entire house down.” Lando laughed, and Milana couldn’t help but laugh along with the sounds of joy that made her heart flutter. Lando truly could not believe that the woman who was laughing freely in front of him was the same woman he met three days ago who seemed to be the flirtier, female version of the Iceman, Kimi Raikkonen. He preferred this bright, cheery girl over the seductive woman he met, because this was Mila, not Milana.
Their laughter faded away, Milana looked back toward the flood of people still moving back and forth between the makeshift buildings, and Lando just looked at her.
“Would you like to go for dinner with me?” Lando’s mouth seemed to be quicker than his brain, because when Milana looked at him in shock, his words caught up to him. Milana saw how shocked he was in himself, and nodded, a bright smile curling her lips. Lando nodded back, a large smile and a nervous giggle urged him out of his chair, waving to Milana as he ran to the Williams garage to ask George what to do.

Insults
day 3 of @whumptober2021 coming to you a bit late - for the prompt “insults,” we are back to my superhero boy, august!
tagging @whumpy-writings, let me know if you’d like to be added or removed :)
CW: derogatory language, insults, emotional whump, predicament punishment, exhaustion, overworking, superhero whumper, sidekick whumpee
Every day, August gets stronger. He used to think he was already at the top of his game – that thanks to his natural ability, he was set for life. It sure seemed that way, until he started training and his strength and speed go through the roof. It’s the most satisfying thing he’s ever done, and also, without a doubt, the hardest. The workouts leave him exhausted every day and trying to absorb Beck’s lessons on strategy makes his brain feel like it’s melting out his ears. The medic, Valerie, is friendly enough, but August’s fellow apprentice hardly talks to anyone, and Beck is even more unreachable.
All of that, August could handle. It’s Donovan he still struggles with – and clearly, Don is still struggling with him, too. In the beginning, Beck and his second picked their apprentice because of their power affinity, or that’s what August and Mercer were told. Beck and Mercer both had more mental powers, and August and Don more physical. It makes sense. August really, really hopes it’s true, because lately, he’s started to doubt.
More accurately, Donovan is making him doubt. Solo training goes just fine, but as soon as he’s in a room with Don, August’s self-esteem tends to fall straight through the floor. Like, for instance, right now.
“No wonder Beck didn’t want to work with you,” Don growls, clicking the stopwatch in his hand.
Panting, August shakes his head. “Thought that was ‘bout…what powers…were most…” he flaps a hand, searching for the word as he tries to draw in more air. “…similar?”
Folding his arms across his broad chest, Donovan scowls down at August. “Your power is nothing like mine, runt.”
August shrugs, managing to straighten up now that he’s gotten some air back in his lungs. “Well, your power is nothing like mine.”
Eyes narrowing further, Donovan glares at August, and August stares back, hard as it is to meet those hard green eyes. “Good thing, too,” Donovan mutters. “Next set.”
Letting his eyes fall shut, August nods, bracing himself. Don seems convinced that with enough training, August should be able to do everything as quickly as running – including all the lifting he does in the weight room. No matter how hard he tries to convince Don it’s not the same, the information doesn’t penetrate that cement-thick skull.
Wincing even as he thinks it, August shakes his head, shaking off his irritation. Don’s his mentor. He’s a hard guy, but he’s training August, and working hard doing it. Getting pissy about a little hard work isn’t August’s style. Newly determined, he turns back to the racks.
Only to find that Donovan has slid another twenty-pound weight on each end of his barbell. Gulping, August stops to scratch at his head, his unruly strawberry blonde hair matting down with sweat.
“Hey, uh, Don?”
He winces at the slightly higher, uncertain note in his voice. When Donovan speaks, it sounds like a mountain rumbling. “What.”
“I, uh. Just, like, how many reps am I doing? Again?”
“Five sets, ten reps each.”
Resting one finger against the new weight, August swipes down and set the black circle spinning. “Yeah…I don’t know if I can, uh, do that.”
“Why not.”
Don’s voice is so flat that August would swear he’s not asking a question. It’s not that he’s a monotone guy, either, he has plenty of range when he talks to Beck, or even Valerie. When it comes to August, though, Donovan only seems to have the ability to sound annoyed.
“It’s just…it’s just a lot heavier than I’m used to lifting.”
When Don’s hand lands on the bar, August nearly jumps out of his skin. His mentor had approached deceptively quietly, and now, when his hand makes contact, the bar jumps in place, weight on either end rattling loudly against each other. “August!”
Don barks it, and August jumps all over again.
“Do you think you’re going to be attacked by a supervillain that keeps your pathetic maxes in mind?”
“Uh…” August swallows hard. “Probably…probably not.”
“Do you think disaster mitigation is going to be limited to shit you can comfortably handle?”
“If it did, it probably wouldn’t be a disaster,” August tries weakly for a joke, but Don’s impassive face doesn’t shift. “So, uh, no, I guess.”
“Yeah.” Don shoves himself off the bar, setting everything clanging all over again. “No.” Taking a few steps back, he positions himself behind the bench, so he’ll be watching Augusts’ every move. “I changed my mind. It’s not five sets, ten reps. You’ll go to failure.”
Throat dry, August nods, first to his mentor, then to himself. He knows what Don means when he says to failure. He has bruises from working to failure – but Don is his mentor, and August doesn’t want to disappoint.
Stepping up to the bench, August rolls first one shoulder, then the other. Then, he slides into place beneath the bar. Setting his hands a shoulders-width apart, he pushes up, pressing the new weight upwards, off the rest.
The new weight is heavy. It’s a lot heavier than what August was doing before, when Donovan had him trying to pump out reps as fast as he could. Now, August just focuses on bringing the bar down to just tap his chest, and then pressing it back up. On the fourth rep, his biceps start to burn. By the tenth, both arms are on fire, from his wrists to his shoulders, spreading even into the webbing of muscles across his back.
August manages three more reps before he has to stop, the bar wavering in the air above his eyes. His breath is coming in harsh, hard pants, and it takes a second for him to get out the words forming in his head.
“Needa…break.”
“No breaks.” Don is implacable, impossible to argue with. “Keep going until you can’t.”
“What…what if I can’t?”
“That’s pathetic.”
Scowling up at the bar, at his shaking hands, August blows out a long breath. “Okay, then.”
Two more reps, and he’s letting them down much too fast, so fast they almost bounce off his sternum. It’s bad form, but giving into the weight is intoxicating, letting his muscles ease off the resistance and rest. The way back up is endless – a shaking, unsteady push, until all August’s muscles are stretched to their utmost. Then the cycle begins again.
On the third rep, August’s arms stop, half bent, halfway back up. For one heart-stopping moment, he thinks the bar is going to fall, going to come back down and break his ribs, but instead it just hovers there, not going any farther and not dropping, either. August is pushing as hard as he can, arms searing, aching, complaining. Absolutely nothing happens to the bar above him. It’s like his arms and the weight are locked in place, held there by something far stronger than him.
“Need…help…” he gasps, the bar shaking more and more as he fights to hold it in place. “Can’t…keep…going!”
There’s a long silence from behind him, and August glances up frantically, terrified that Don has left. No, there’s a big dark shape behind him, unmoving. The bar drops a fraction of an inch as August struggles to keep it aloft. “Huh-help!”
“No.” Don’s voice is cold and unforgiving. “You’re going to have to figure out how to help yourself.”
The denial felt like a physical push. All strength gone, August’s arms collapse, and the bar hits him hard in the chest, heavy and momentous. The impact punches the air out of him, leaves him gagging and gasping, twitching involuntarily around the bar pinning him to the bench. The weight of it pressing into his brand-new bruise makes August whine, panting desperately for breath and against the pain. His feet come off the ground, flailing and tapping uselessly against the gym floor. His burning arms press hard at the iron bar, straining to move it. Minutes pass, and August’s breath grows frantic, erratic, frightened. He can’t move the bar. He can’t move the bar. He –
After minutes of grunting, struggling, making undignified, high-pitched squeaks, August heaves just right. The bar teeters, and then tips to the right, crashing to the ground and freeing August’s left side. His right side is pinched hard against the bench, but at least he can scramble free, gasping, wide-eyed, staring.
He still can’t breathe right, so he just stares, bruised and fully stunned, at his mentor. Donovan watches levelly from his place against the wall as his sidekick wraps tentative arms around his aching middle. Don looks from the bar on the ground to his wide-eyed apprentice and wrinkles his nose.
“You’re an insult to this fucking team,” Donovan tells him. Before August can rely, Don is pushing off the wall and walking away.

SO i just finished wonder egg priority and i think that with confidence i can say it has been one of my favorite animes like... ever ?? and not even from hyperfixation or obsession over it just... its so fucking real yet so simple in a way that i havent rlly seen shown in any other shows you feel ??
but first i wanna talk about how sexy the art and animation is real quick... HOMIE ITS SO GOOD LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT JUST... serotonin... the characters are all so unique and iconic and fun but not over the top in their designs yknow ??? they seem like regular every day girls but they stand out and theyre all sO CUTE !!!! also i love how the style is like this soft bubbly slice of life lookin stuff with bright happy colors and the most beautiful scenes you could find but they also have the SICKEST fight scenes complete with whimsical animal helpers and terrifying villains and crazy weapons unique to each character. and the animation. god DAMN shawty i am obsessed with everything in this show. i might make a post solely about the art later lol bc i wanna get into the other stuff.
so the themes in the show right ?? it starts just as this cute lil magical girl kinda deal but within the first episode we see that like.. oh damn... thats kinda heavy... tbh i was a little shocked and thought about stopping bc yknow bad mental health BUT i was so intrigued that i had to keep going and i am SO GLAD that i did. because this show just so beautifully discusses all these heavy topics in such an eloquent and artistically expressive way. and also like, , the juxtaposition of the charming childlike vibe with bright colors and 14 yr old girl protagonists against the dark themes of suicide and so much else,, i think is just perfect. bc a lot of heavy animes are more of the seinen genre and have some middle aged dude as a protag or make the entire color palette dim or offer little relief to the pain of these heavy themes right ?? but NO not wonder egg bitches B) because these problems arent just things that ppl face later in life or just problems that need to be talked about among adults or the edgy seinen watching squad,, these are REAL problems that face people of every age, gender etc and i think its awesome that wonder egg addresses that. some may cringe at the thought of their high schooler watching animes that discuss sexual harassment, suicide, abuse, self harm, eating disorders etc,, but in reality it is the most comforting thing i have ever come across and is basically jsut free anime therapy. because not only does wonder egg present these themes to the viewers as something real that happens to all kinds of people (making said people feel heard in a way that maybe they hadnt before), but it also makes sure to vanquish all of these forms of trauma. and the way the trauma is vanquished isnt always beautiful and it isnt always just magically gone with a poof. the struggles of overcoming or living with that sort of thing are shown in such a real and relatable way that addresses every hardship trauma survivors have to go through. and i just. god i cry bro.
oh m y GOD and the lgbtq+ rep in this show ?? like shawty... as soon as i saw episode one i was picking up on some gay/lesbian themes but then again im sapphic and project that a lot so i tend to see that sort of stuff like... everywhere... but NE WAYS... episode ten made me FUKCING CRY BRO LIke i cant believe there was a whole trans character with a whole trans pride hoodie like LKGHKDGH my heart is just so.. so fucking full thinking about him. bc like yeah i know there are trans characters in anime but i feel like theyre always very ambiguous about actually being trans or not or erased or portrayed as a harmful stereotype or theyre constantly misgendered and still refered to as their assigned gender at birth and i hate it. HOWEVEr... Kaoru.. *chefs kiss* it was so amazing to see a character straight up say “yeah im trans” in such a casual yet powerful way bc i personally have never seen that before. and i love love loved how he went into his backstory and talked to momoe about gender bc i think thats what she rlly needed and that it helped her find herself and it makes me so happy oh my god,, and the way they talked about it never seemed forced or like it was the focal point of his existence yknow ?? like yeah he existed to help momoe overcome some of her trauma but he also just existed to be HIM yknow ?? also... personally, i headcanon momoe as a trans girl even though i dont remember it being explicitly stated plus the school scenes of her and stuff would seem like they suggest otherwise ??but,,, SHAWTY THE AMOUNT OF SUBTEXT and her complicated relationship w gender is... something i feel like a cis girl would not go through so harshly yknow ?? with all of the questioning and feeling detached from femininity or feeling like ppl dont see her as an actual girl and only like her as a guy or for her masculine traits,,, but dont take my word on this bc i myself am a cis girl but that was just my take on it as someone in the lgbtq+ community trying to educate myself on the transgender community :) either way,, wonder eggs portrayal of momoe and kaoru and the way that momoe becomes so passionate about expressing herself the way she wants to as a girl is just... good lord im gonna cry its so perfect,,,.so ... i just love this show way too much. i also am honestly super lost about the relationship btwn acca and ura-acca ?? bc i was gonna mention ura-acca as a canonically gay guy bc when i was watching i interpreted ep 11 as him being in love with acca and being jealous of Azusa (bc i mean,, they lived together (i swear to god there was only one bed in that apartment) and had a daughter together and def loved each other and also when Frill said they were husbands and then when ura-acca said he wasnt attracted to azusa but he was def jealous of their relationship ??) but then i saw somewhere that theyre brothers ?? which would make sense ig since they look kinda similar and accas daughter called ura-acca “uncle”.. but at the same time its ANIME SO THEY ALL LOOK SIMILAR and referring to gay couples as siblings is an EXTREMELY common euphemism soooo... IM JUST LOST HERE... but yeah i tried doing research and found different things so i cant say anything for sure >:( however,,, if they are canonically a lil fruity for each other... when frill refered to acca as ura-accas husband i imploded dude you never hear that sort of wording in anime.. but if theyre related i am so sorry.
god this is so much longer than i planned it to be oops but i also love the theme about like.. relying on friends to help carry your weight but at the same time not becoming completely dependent on those friends and using their support to learn how to love yourself and rely on yourself yknow ?? bc that is exactly what healthy friendships look like. bc i think ai sort of had a codependency thing goin on with koito maybe ?? but now she has a whole squad of funky friends that are so so different but all struggle with different kinds of trauma and although they fight over it, they always get through it with each other together. and they push each other no matter what to be the best versions of themselves and they teach other that getting hurt is okay because theyre always gonna be there to pick up the pieces no matter what happens. they can give each other space when they need and adapt to meet each others needs but theyre always able to balance it out with their own needs and thats such a beautiful thing in friendships especially at their age like damn i wish i had that maturity when i was 14 but no all i had was depression. another thing is that through these friendships you get to see all the different sides of each girl; you get to see them being strong or a shining light to their friends when theyre hurting but you also get to see them being hurt and weak and allowing themselves to be on the receiving end of the comfort. their friendships allows them to have weaknesses but it also allows them to highlight their strengths and thrive off of each others. I LOVE FRIENDSHIP DUDE
next i wanna briefly mention some of the themes connected to suicide that ive noticed. a big one is the survivors guilt that ai feels once koito is dead. several times she screams that she wishes she couldve gone with koito and she dreams of a “perfect world” where they committed a double suicide. one of the main reasons for her troubles is that she blames herself for koitos death and feels like it should be her thats dead... but at the same time she feels like too much of a coward to do anything now that koito is gone. she just has all these complex and contradicting feelings that wear away at her in ways that ppl that havent gone through the suicide of a loved one could never imagine. a lot of the times when things like this are portrayed in media i feel like its more in a way thats meant to guilt trip those that have taken their own lives and paint suicide as this selfish sin thats unforgivable but... not only does wonder egg reject that idea and instead portray it as a heartbreaking tragedy with,,, so so many terrible reasons, but it focuses on the feelings of ai separate from koito without blaming her in any way. not once did i feel like the show antagonized koito or that ai blamed koito for doing any of this, but they simply mourned her loss and touched on ais reaction towards the event but separate from koito herself if that makes sense. and i think that discussing survivors guilt without painting koito as the bad guy is something so beautifully done in wonder egg that can really resonate with those that have lost a loved one to suicide and have struggled with these same things.
okay i think this is the last thing ill mention,,, but HOMIE THE PARALLEL UNIVERSE BIT AT THE END. I AM. OBSESSED. i am such a whore for anything about the multiverse okay n e ways...,, not only did this make a super epic trippy ending of season one and add a little bit more magical girl whimsy to the show,, but it had such a powerful message. from the perspective of og ai,, finding out that you killed yourself in another world is... i mean its definitely not a surprise but at the same time it rlly makes you think how close og ai herself couldve been to that point and what decisions led her out of that dark place in her life. if i were in her shoes i would be terrified and id cry bc the thought of going back to such a dark place and actually going through with something like that is my worst fear and probably something that ai fears too. but at the same time,,, think from the perspective of ai two !!! like yeah its true that theres this awful terrible version of ai that dies but theres also a whole version of ai that is a superhero magical girl fighting off monsters to save countless ppls lives !! and she has a badass lizard and a gang of awesome friends !!! at first i was worried that ai two would be jealous of og ai and compare herself to her and feel inferior but like.. THEYRE LITERALLY THE SAME PERSON AND CAPABLE OF THE SAME THINGS !!! and ai two realized that !! just within the span of one episode, she went from the version of ai who took her life,, to the version of ai jumping in front of a friend to take a bullet for them and save their life. and that just inspired THE SHIT OUT OF ME. i think that ai was sent another version of herself to sort of beat her own worst enemy yknow ?? those doubts and fears that shes no good or that shes that same bystander from episode one and that she hasnt changed at all. but getting to interact with her parallel self and see her grow was just what she needed to realize that while yeah sometimes the worst thing can happen and things can be terrible but on the other hand sometimes the most wonderful thing imaginable can happen because she has the power to do either.
so im gonna go ahead and stop rambling bc i got all my thoughts out that i wanted to for this post :D but yeah lol i might make another if i feel like it sometime. long story short: this show is perfect and it is going on my favorite of all times.

ML AU: In Another Life: Ladybug
Original post
-Flashbacks to Befana are the same. But then there are a few additional frames of Lila seeing Marinette and adrien act more couple like and it really grinds her gears.
-Like in the original episode. Lila is talking with Gabriel, acting as his spy.
-Lila uses this chance to try and bad mouth Marinette like in canon but insists she is not a good match for adrien, but Gabriel dismisses it.
-Lila decides to put her plan into action just like in canon. Her motive though was to give a reason for Gabriel to make his son end his relationship with Marinette.
-Gabriel tells her the ‘Deal’ is in place for now. But if he can revoke it if she doesnt live up to his expectations.
-The events that led up to Marinette’s bag getting examined are the same. And Miss bustier points out that she didnt miss a question.
-Alya calls out first that it wasnt her.
-Adrien also stands up saying that he studied for the mock examine with Marinette. (He is faster to defend his gf)
-Adrien also had a perfect score on the examine, because Marinette helped him with studying.
-Lila makes her comments and Marinette claims Lila set her up.
-The events that lead to Lila faking her fall down the steps are the same, including getting to the locker.
- The main difference here is that Adrien speaks up.
-”Hold on! I know marinette wouldnt do any of this! Lila, when did you last have your necklace?”
-Lila was not expecting the bold accusation, She makes a quick lie that she had it the other day.
-Adrien smiles.
-”Then there is no way Marinette could have taken the necklace! Marinette was with me at a photoshoot helping me study between breaks. She wouldnt have had the time to take the necklace.”
-Mr.Damocles was about to speak up saying there is still a lot to against Marinette, and the class chimes up to agree that Marinette wouldnt steal it or cheat.
-Chloé even points out that Marinette is too goody goody for shoving people.
-Alix commenting that “Its true, and if she would shove anyone, it would have been Chloé”
-Miss bustier actually does the teacher thing and comments that Marinette is her class rep and this is out of the ordinary for her.
-Lila failed to take into account how well liked Marinette is, and didnt anticipate Adrien would be so adamant about defending her.
-Mr.Damocles decides that this needs further investigation. He says that Marinette should go home for the day while he and the teachers discuss the situation. He apologizes to the Dupain family and will call them when they have worked through everything.
-Its not ideal, but no one is super angry, not enough for hawkmoth to try and pull off Scarlet moth 2.0. Which really disappoints him. Nathalie wasnt akumatized, but still faints from exhaustion.
- Causing Hawkmoth to focus on Nathalie and take her out of the lair.
-Marinette is at home, fuming over this whole thing. She knows Lila set her up. Alya is on the case to investigate it. Though she isnt blaming Lila directly yet, because she wants to find the facts, but she knows Marinette is innocent.
-Mayura still creates Sentibug like in canon.
-Adrien texted Marinette to make sure she was okay, and he tells her he is not letting Lila get away with this.
- He gets an alert just before he confronts lila like in canon about Ladybug fighting Mayura.
-He leaves and finds ‘Ladybug’ hurt.
-Ladybug says the words like she does in canon.
-”But... youre in love with someone else.” Chat noir knew this because its HIM.
-Mayura has sentibug spout a lie but Chat noir backs away. He doesnt buy it like he did in canon.
-Ladybug sees Chat noir backing away. Relieved her partner wasnt tricked
-”Glad to see that you can tell the difference between me and a copy.”
-”It wasnt easy, she didnt seem at all like the sentimonsters we faced before. She’s different.”
- The fight goes about the same as in canon, with the same lucky charm joke.
-They free sentibug. and tragedy occurs just like before.
-The events occur pretty much the same but the dialogue is a bit different.  when she says that “Ladybug doesnt sound the same without chat noir” He comments that they are a great pair.
-”Easy there kitty, you know i am in love with someone else.”
-”I know, and he’s a lucky guy.”
-Lila was getting ready to go do the modelling deal, but Gabriel called her. Telling her, he was disappointed with her plan. He says that she can forget about modelling today. She needs to prove her worth.
-Lila is pissed, and she decides that she was going to add some grease to the wheels and get Marinette expelled. At least then she could get something out of the ordeal.
-A car shows up, Its Adrien. He tells her to get in.
-”You didnt listen to my warning. You went after someone I loved.”
-Lila attempts to insist that she didn’t do anything, but Adrien tells Lila that she’s going to tell another lie to prove Marinette’s innocence. That she would completely clear her of any wrongdoing
-Lila comments why she would do that.
-”Because you know that if it does go the other way, everyone will know who is responsible for Marinette getting kicked out of the school.”
- And Adrien then brings it all home “Because we are friends, arent we?”
-Lila felt a chill go down her spine. Adrien made it clear that he would do everything in his power to bring her down.
-Lila then lies her way to clear marinette of all wrong doing, and the investigation on Marinette is over. She isnt expelled and no permanent record damage.
-Marinette asks Lila why she fixed everything. Lila doesnt have a smug response, she just leaves without a word, swearing to herself that this wasnt over. Not by a long shot.
-Marinette goes to see Adrien who is happy to see her.
-”So I am guessing this was your doing.”
-Adrien smiles, he claims he has no idea what she is talking about.
-She kisses his cheek, and the episode ends.

I finished watching Loonatics Unleashed and I have Some Thoughts. I guess this is like a part 2 to the other post I made about the show so yeah.
I swear I don’t intend for everything I write to be an essay but whatever. It’s all under the cut. No massive story spoilers, but I will talk about episodes and will warn accordingly. (But who actually cares about being spoiled on the plot of Loonatics Unleashed?)
Alright so I finally figured out why Ace has laser vision. ...It’s kinda dumb but it’s because rabbits eat carrots(in cartoons). It’s... a reason at least. Still kinda sucks that it’s his only power when everyone else got 2 and some change. Kickass swords don’t count, even if they are magic. Seriously; Transformation. Duplication. Imitation. Tons of other “ation”s. They could’ve leaned into his trickster side but no. He eats carrots... so he got laser vision. Also he only ate carrots like three times in the show so wtf...
Okay so the pacing... improved somewhat in season 2. Don’t get me wrong there were still problems in some episodes but at least they learned how to build the stakes until the climax. They still sometimes went from zero to eighty after the opening credits, but at least it wasn’t zero to a hundred. Much less whiplash was had is what I’m saying.
I don’t think I really mentioned the villains before but they’re uh... generally not very good. They’ve got cool gimmicks but most of the time they’re just two stereotypes and a cliche in a trench coat. Season 2 brought back classic anthro characters to be villains a few times, and while they still weren’t well written and just referenced old bits half the time... at least they weren’t dehumanized humans.
I also don’t think I mentioned the animation so... it’s fine. It’s got cut corners but all cartoons do. Sometimes fight scenes look cool, sometimes they’re stiff. Sometimes the slapstick is well timed, sometimes it’s not. Sometimes the facial expressions match the voice acting, sometimes they don’t. Speaking of voice acting, it’s good. There’s not really anything stand out to perform in the first place but everyone does a good job with what they have.
Okay random note before getting deeper into things... the intro themes were... not good. I swear the first song ended on a note that it wasn’t supposed to. The second song fixed that but added people announcing the characters which... is just worse to me. Not much else to say because I skipped them after the first few times.
(Very mild spoilers for the general plots of episodes past this point.)
Ace and Lexi improved a little in the second season, but I still find them kinda bland. Ace still just feels like zero calorie Bugs Bunny. His wit is confined to being the leader, snarky comebacks, and some decent sleuthing skills... and that’s really it. He doesn’t really play around with the villains the way Bugs would. Ace was also supposed to have an arc learning to use his magic sword which... didn’t really happen. Lexi’s defining trait outside of her powers is still that she’s “the girl” which... sucks... Uh... she upgraded to Gamer Girl in the second season which while neat, amounted to nothing outside that one episode. At the very least she was never kidnapped for more than 5 seconds?(That “honor” goes to Zadavia) They also never really brought up their backstories in a meaningful way again, which sucks.
I still like the rest of the team. Slam got an episode about wrestling that built on his backstory and was fun to watch. Duck discovered that his egg powers work differently in water which was neat and matched him being a waterfowl.(Lexi’s powers work differently in water too but it’s never brought up again). Rev is still Rev and I still love him. He got an episode about his family and struggle to impress them(specifically his parents) despite his career choice which was also neat, but I will be coming back to this episode later. Tech is also still Tech and I also still love him. But uh, every character and also me wanted to see him get out of the lab more, and then he got like a nibble of an episode to get out of the lab, and then the show was over. Oof.
Speaking of Tech, it might be for the best he hardly ever left the lab because his powers are... possibly way too effective against all the robots and machines the team fights. Now, him being “overpowered” could’ve been used as a fun writing challenge. Robot goons aren’t a good option for villains anymore. Fighting against him in a city filled with metal is harder. Villains can’t rely on simply killing him thanks to his regeneration. Fight scenes including Tech would have to be handled in a fun and interesting way. But... no. In a team with two tech guys, the one with super speed and flight comes with while the one who can control metal and literally can’t die stays behind. Oh well. Doubt they could’ve added him into more fights without accidentally dumbing him down anyway.
Oh crap I forgot to talk about Zadavia! Uh... she exists. She’s the team’s boss who sends them out on missions. Uh... I can’t talk too much about her without spoiling what little overarching plot this show has, but just know that she’s neat, but affected by the usual sexism going on in the show’s writing.
(Character and episode spoilers past this point.)
You know, for being The Loonatics the main cast wasn’t very loony. You know who were though? Basically all the villains. Yeah I don’t wanna go there but oops here I go anyway. It’s pretty messed up that all the main characters’ zany traits were dialed down, while the defining feature of practically every villain (besides their stereotypes)is that they’re insane. I mean, if you’re looking for good mental illness rep in The Looney Tunes you’re gonna be disappointed, but at least in the shorts almost every character was a little unhinged and a bit of an asshole, making none of them stand out for those traits specifically.
Also messed up is that a lot of the villains are disfigured and made fun of for it by the main cast. Hot take of the century, but I think making fun of people for having a big head or only one eye is... bad. Oh and if they’re a woman then they’re also judged on how hot they are. Actually all women in the show are subjected to sexist writing. I remember like one episode where women were treated with a sliver of respect for a split second and that was in the obligatory “the cast comes across an island of amazon women” episode. However since most of the time was spent painting them as villains until the “actually sexism is bad” ending, there was hardly a moment of reprieve from the bullshit if a woman was on screen.
I’m not the best person to speak on this but uh... it’s fucked up that since literally every notable human is a villain, all the people of color are bad guys, right? Like, obviously it’s not as bad as some of the shit the old shorts pulled, but that’s like saying getting punched is not as bad as getting stabbed. It’s true... but I’m sure most people would prefer neither.
And here’s where I bring up that Rev episode I mentioned earlier. Rev’s parents are racist against coyotes (cartoons sure love to make carnivores allegories for black people don’t they?) and obviously with Tech E. Coyote being his close friend, that causes trouble. ...Right? Uh, no. They say some racist crap to Tech, and that’s it. There is not even an attempt to correct their behavior from anyone. It’s just treated as some unfortunate quirk. In fact the episode’s conflict actually revolves around Rev’s brother, Rip. Honestly, I doubt that they could’ve handled a decent “racism is bad” episode anyway. But they could’ve also... just not brought up racism if they couldn’t handle it? I’m sure having no racism topic at all would be better than having Tech just take the parents’ racist bull crap lying down and then help Rev impress them with an invention he doesn’t get credit for. Also at one point Rev says if Tech wasn’t a coyote and a guy he’d kiss him, which has two uncomfortable implications, but this section is already too long.
(Spoilers end here.)
Overall... yeah the show’s not very good. Of course it wasn’t. It was always going to be a little garbage. And no not because of the darker style or strange setting or any of that superficial crap. Team dynamic shows are popular and with Teen Titans doing so well WB probably thought they might as well shove out a 2 season Looney Tunes version to grab a little more cash, probably minimizing the budget to squeeze out as much profit as possible. If anyone working on the show was passionate about it, I doubt they had the budget or time to act on most their ideas.
Still, there were things to like. There are some funny jokes throughout the show, a few of which even managed to come out of Ace’s mouth. Danger Duck was literally just Daffy and he’s always great. Ironically, Rev and Tech were the most fun to listen to, and also to watch interacting in general. Slam didn’t do much but was a sweetheart who deserves success. There managed to be some decently twisty twist villains, if only because Disney ruined my brain with their ceaseless and lazy attempts at them, and I wasn’t looking out for them in this show. And, while almost nothing was properly developed, at least the concepts and characters are fun to think about?
I can’t say I’d recommend this show to everybody, but uh... if you’re a Furry with low standards and too much free time like me, maybe you’ll like it? Just go in with low expectations so when nice things happen you’re decently surprised.

Crescent high above
Evolving as you go
Raise what lies beneath
& let the darkness grow
Bend it to my will
Consume the sunlight's glow
Rise into the sky
& let the darkness grow
Let darkness grow."
Blackstone growls at her captives, her glowing light blue hair dancing in the wind, her black bodysuit with a glowing blue stone on her chest, pulsing with her emotions, a sword strapped to her back.
"I'm not Y/N anymore. I'm Blackstone. You can stop trying to convince me to take the high road, Adrien. We are not the same. You are weak! You are a doormat & an enabler. Me? I am the salvation. I won't fail like you did!"
She looks down to the black spikes she creates in anger, remembering her cousin causing pain to Marinette & herself.
"When Ladybug gets here-" Chloe yells.
Blackstone laughs, "She will thank me for exposing this liar of a cousin I have! She's ruining people's rep, like she did mine."
Alya's phone shakes in her hand as she livestreams everything. Blackstone then starts singing, tears pricking her glowing E/C eyes.
youtube
"There's no life after happily ever after
There's just pain & betrayal in the end
I could see it in her eyes, that all she does is lie
After all she's done, you think that she's your friend?"
She pulls out some duct-tape from the bag on the wall & places it on her three captives mouths & then starts sharpening her sword.
"But still at night, I think about the way she smiles
& miss her for a little while
Every thought is harder to excuse
& now I see, I've lost my faith, & lost my soul!
But now I have complete control
& realised I've nothing left to lose!
Nothing left to lose!"
She growls at her captives, "Lila never cared about me! About any of you! Why won't you see that?"
Alya listens to the akuma & feels regret for not double-checking her sources.
"The path I'm on is a path paved in black
I'm taking that road & I'm not looking back!
Each twist & each turn leads straight where I'm yearning to go!
Yes, it's true
My path is dark, but I see where it ends
My rivals will fall as my power ascends
Despise me, that's fine!
I'm taking what's mine even so!
Not like you!"
She turns to Chloe, growing more stones underneath her, making her rise into the air, & she walks across the air, stones appearing under her feet every step.
"You lost your nerve
You lost the game!
But you & I, we're not the same!
I'm not lost, my fate was mine to choose!
So I chose to lose my doubts & lose my chains
Lose each weakness that remains!
Now that I have nothing left to lose!"
She picks up a picture of Lila, & pulls out her sword to shred it. Her voice cracks as she shreds the picture.
"She dreams about a future
Not knowing all the pain it will briiiiiiiiiiing!
I'll shed no tears, for I am done with waiting!
I have no fear, & I swear that I will
Lose no tears & lose no sleep
What I want I'll take and keep!
You can't stop the turning of the screws!
She suddenly grabs her captives & throws them into a cage.
"You'll stay in that cage until this is done & Lila shows. & just in case you think of escaping." She glares.
She thrusts her hand out, causing more spikes to appear & for the cage to be fifty metres away from her tower made of the black spikes. She walks slowly to her throne.
"Now I have...
Nothing left...
To lose."
She sits down on he throne & growls, waiting for her lying cousin.
***
"You caused all this, Lila! Because of you, Adrien, Alya, & Chloe are in danger! Because of you, your cousin Y/N is akumatised!" Ladybug scolds Lila.
"Oh, please! She was a gullible fool like my mother. She believed everything I said until Marinette showed her the truth. It's her fault." Lila scoffs.
Ladybug yells, "SHE'S YOUR FAMILY! She trusted you! Marinette had nothing to do with it! You did. & YOU are going to fix it."
***
"What are you waiting for!? Find Ladybug & Cat Noir!!!"
Blackstone sighs, "Zip it, Hawkdaddy. Ladybug will come soon enough with Lila. She has no choice. Come with Lila, or I drop the civilians. You need patience. You'd think you'd know patience with how long it takes to sew an outfit."
The voice stops, seemingly shocked.
"Oh, you think I wouldn't figure it out? I'm not as dense as the rest of Paris. But I might forget later."
Suddenly, Blackstone hears a yoyo zipping in. She turns around to see Ladybug & Lila in her tower.
"About time. But, just to make sure..."
She wraps the stones around Lila & squeezes slightly, causing Lila to start crying crocodile tears.
"Good. She's real. Unlike those tears."
She then wraps Ladybug in the stones as well.
"Don't worry, Ladybug, I won't hurt you. After all, you were the one to try to help me."
She turns to Lila & sings, again.
youtube
"This has to stop now
This thing where you think that you've been my friend
& don't even hear how you condescend
Just like you've always done!
No, this has to stop now
Ignoring the things that I have to say
You leave me behind to just sit & wait
The way you've always done!"
Ladybug stares in shock. She's treated her own cousin like this for years?
"Lila, listen!
I've wasted my whole life
I'm taking back what's mine now
It's what I feel is right.
Lila listen
I know it's not too late
But you hold me back & keep me there
When I want to go, you're telling me to wait.
Well... I won't wait!"
Blackstone lifts into the air with stones & snarls at Lila, giving Ladybug regretful looks.
"There's a line between the winners & the losers
There's a line between the chosen & the rest
& I've done the best I could
But I've always known just where we stood!
Me here with the luckless
You there with the blessed!
& that line between the beggars & the choosers
Is a line you've never let me quite ignore!
How I've tried to jump that great divide!
But I never got the chances you were given!"
Her voice starts to crack & tears swell in her eyes as she glares at Lila. As far as Blackstone's concerned, Lila deserves every bit of pain she'll be given.
"You don't know how much I've been denied!
Well, I'm not being patient anymore!
I'm crossing the line!
& I'm done holding back!
So look out, clear the track
It's my turn!
I'm taking what's mine!
Every drop every smidge!
If I'm burning a bridge
Let it burn!
But I'm crossing the line!"
She holds her sword to Lila's neck, tears flowing freely as she sings.
"As for us, if we're over
That fine!"
Ladybug yells, "Wait!"
"I'm crossing the line."
She goes to stab Lila when Ladybug's yoyo wraps around the sword & pulls it away. She tries to break it, but she can't.
"Did you really think it'd be that easy to break my sword? It's made out of the same stuff my rocks are made of." Blackstone laughs.
"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug throws her yoyo into the air.
A hat falls down into her hands.
"Seriously? A hat? Please tell me how you are going to defeat me with a hat?" Blackstone frowns, unamused.
Ladybug's eyes widen.
"Of course!"
She quickly removes Lila from the rocks & flies out of the tower.
"By retreating? That's how you defeat me? Meh, She'll be back."
***
After an hour, Ladybug comes back, without Lila, & without the hat.
"So... I guess you did do something right. Why didn't you tell anyone, Ladybug? Why didn't you expose her lies? She was ruining your reputation, she was ruining Jagged's rep, Clara's, & literally anyone else she spoke about. Why did you let her lie? Did she threaten you? Or was it someone else?"
Ladybug glares, "Let them go."
Blackstone sighs, & brings her captives back inside.
"You know, I just wanted to take vengeance on my stupid cousin, & repay my debt to Marinette. But there is one thing I have to do first." Blackstone frowns.
She then grabs Adrien & pulls him out of the cage.
"This is actually your fault. I partly blame your father for letting you be so stupid! & you're about to pay for not defending Marinette!"
She drags him to the window of the tower, all the girls screaming to let him go.
"You want me to let him go? Alright!" She smirks.
She drops him out the window. Everyone screams, but then, nothing. Blackstone looks out the window to see him in the hands of a new heroine. Her smirk gets slightly bigger as she watches the new Bee themed heroine getting Adrien to safety.
"So... Who's next? How about the Ladyblogger who needs to learn to fact-check? Or maybe the Mayor's daughter who thinks her father will do everything she wants? Who's going for a ride through the air, nothing keeping them safe until they land?"
***
"Get to safety, Agreste." The heroine frowns.
"Who are you?" He asks.
The heroine replies, "Honeybee."
She jumps back towards the tower, with her raven hair with yellow highlights flowing in the wind.
"I'm coming, Ladybug."
***
"Stop your crying! It's annoying! He's alive you fools!" Blackstone yells, when-
"VENOM!"
Blackstone freezes in place. Suddenly, Cat Noir shows up and destroys the sword. Ladybug casts the cure & Blackstone turns back to Y/N. Y/N hugs her legs, knowing just what she did.
A/N So, does anyone want a part two? If so, tell me.

Stories of desperate parents-to-be turning to magic, mucking it up, and being horrified when they have monsterous children are out, from now on our magical-muck-up parents embrace monstery parenthood wholeheartedly because they waited too long and worked too hard to have children to get turned off by some scales or what have you.

An Avatar that isn’t found for ages. Their village remembers stories of Avatar Aang- who ended the Hundred Year War but also proceeded to help in colonizing the Earth Kingdom and gave less of a thought to the commonfolk than to the local insects- and they remember Avatar Korra- who saved the world while following in her prior life’s footsteps, just with more threats of violence- and they see this little Avatar in their midst and say ‘fuck no, this one isn’t ending up like that’.
They learn airbending from the trees and birds, earthbending from a local farmer, firebending from the man who provides the village with power, waterbending from the village healer. They’re the local secret, and every time someone comes by searching them out the villagers lie. Say they’re older than they are. Say they aren’t a bender.
The Avatar reveals themself when they’re good and ready, with no lessons from the elite, no dark trauma in their past, and a firm understanding and respect for the commonfolk of the world.

Okay, but, if you like Pern but are unhappy with... how much it is shit? I really do recommend Mercedes Lackey’s Valdemar series. It’s ain’t perfect (rep can be middling at best, you will be sat there going ‘if I see another age-gap romance I swear to the gods-’, ‘divine right of kings’ is there and makes sense in-universe but also will niggle people, there is so much rape and it’s a bit more graphic- though that one is tempered by her actually treating it as a horrible, evil thing and being really fucking open about it, you will not see ‘but she liked it so it was fine’ in the Valdemar books) but it is still so good.
Things Valdemar does better than Pern
Companions. The angel bondmate horses may not be as cool as dragons, but damnit if the relationships between them and their Heralds isn’t better than the rider/dragon ones
Also, they’re the reason the Divine Right of Kings thing works- in-universe the reason Companions are around is the first king of Valdemar prayed to the gods for some way to ensure his kingdom would always be under the care of good, trustworthy, moral people, and so Valdemar was given the Companions, who only bond to good, trustworthy, moral, incorruptible people who would throw themselves into fire to ensure the health and wellbeing of others, and the ruler must be Chosen by a Companion
Seriously, finally some good fucking ‘divine right’
Leans hard into it’s fantasy setting, so you don’t have to deal with smug ‘everything here is based on science’ bullshit when the science is out a third grade textbook. Is shit weird? Yeah, it’s magic, move along.
The rep is there, which if you’ve read Pern you’ll know is a big jump. POC exist outside of backstory and get to be main characters, queer peeps get to be main characters, everyone gets stories
There are even a-spec characters! One is specifically because she traded her sexual desires, urges, and interests to her goddess in exchange for becoming a holy warrior of protection and vengeance (which her goddess made damn sure was something she honestly wanted to do in the depths of her heart, with full understanding, first, because the gods in this series are Good) but still!
Woman. Characters. Done. Right. There’s a lot of bullfuckery going on, but the women have agency, lead stories far more often, don’t get pushed aside (in their own stories, thank you Dragonflight) for focus on male characters, aren’t pitted against each other in ‘not like other girls’ bullshit
Seriously, all I can picture is if Mercedes had written Dragonquest. Brekke would’ve been the main character and we would’ve gotten her entire fucking story from pre-Search to while F’nor was healing (and he wouldn’t have fucking raped her, not and remained a protagonist, and the dragon shit wouldn’t be nearly so bad, and just it would’ve been so much better)
And I know Pern doesn’t have gods or religion (which, ugh) but y’all I enjoy the gods in the Valdemar series so much? Like, they aren’t generally involved in shit but it’s also very much because they value the free will of their followers? They’ll only get involved if their followers ask it of them. This even leads to differing relationships with differing gods by differing people.
‘But Achi that sounds like a recipe for disaster‘ It is! Karse spends centuries in holy war against Valdemar because a group of fuckers decided to use their religion for power and this hands-off method means Vkandis (their god) couldn’t do anything until the people were in such fear of their own religious leaders that they started asking him for help, and by then it was so bad he had to 1) literally perform the miracle of animating a giant statue of himself, plucking the crown off statue-him’s head, shrinking it down, and using it to crown his chosen Son of the Sun (basically fantasy-pope but Moreso) while granting her all the power one would expect a sun god to grant his mortal representative; 2) burn every corrupt, high-ranking priest in the country alive simultaneously, just to get shit to where something could actually be fucking done before the world ended
We call him ‘Vkandis the Unsubtle’ for a reason, the other one being that when, millennia ago, a kingdom prayed to him for protection from threat outside their kingdom he erected a fuck-off-tall wall of magical fire around their country that only allows those who can be trusted to do no harm and keep their mouths shut in
btw there are gryphons behind the wall of fire. Does Pern have gryphons? No, because Anne was a pansy.
And the thing with the gods leans into something else I love about this series- the characters are people, with virtues and flaws. They make mistakes, those mistakes have consequences (some of them far reaching- why does Valdemar not have magic? Because the last magic user, in an attempt to protect the kingdom from enemy mages, set up a security system that ended up driving every magic user in the kingdom mad and so guess what), and people get called out on them. Sometimes good people do bad things, bad people can have good in them and that doesn’t make them right, the characters are just more well-rounded than Anne’s. Right up to the gods themselves.
It’s not the perfect series, but I really recommend it to anyone who’s read Pern and wanted something less... that.

Random She-Ra Season 5 Thoughts: THE FINAL RAMBLING
Yep. I finally got all my crazy absurd thoughts about this gay adventure-romance-drama cartoon summarized into one incoherent yet fun to read computer document/article! ...four months after the show itself ended. Oh well, no one’s perfect. Anyways, there are a whole lot more insane observations than ever before, so I had to put it below a link so this thing didn’t back up my blog or any of yours. Hope you enjoy reading through these as much I enjoyed spouting them for no discernible reason other than I felt like it!
-I feel that since is the last season, I ought to talk about an important part of the show that I’ve been putting off: the animation. It’s… okay. It’s definitely smoother than what the original 80’s show and it’s brother series (heheh) looked like, but at the same time it still seems to suffer from similar limitations which causes some distracting moments of stiffness. But other than that, it’s pretty good. It’s no Titmouse or Studio Mir but it looks good and it gets the job done.
-After all, let’s not forget: “Imperfection is beautiful!”
-Even when things are at their lowest, Adora is a jock with a heart of gold.
-Horde Prime and the Galactic Horde’s aesthetic feels like a mixture of Catholicism, Scientology, Heaven’s Gate, and modern Microsoft, and honestly, that just makes him creepier.
-Speaking of Horde Prime, he didn’t waste any time with destroying Bright Moon. …apparently.
-Furthermore, on the topic of his giant holographic messages, WAS THAT A FREAKING MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE MOVIE REFERENCE?!
-Boy, Glimmer and Catra sure got along quickly! It’s almost like they magically understand each other because they both assumed leadership roles and screwed up big time! …I guess.
-Either that or this season is going to be a speedrun.
-Wow, the Rebellion sure got used to having a once-thought-dead king as well as a known enemy general/abuser running around their camp awful fast, didn’t they?
-Mara’s got a spaceship, a cyber girlfriend, a magic grandma, a dragon, a tragic backstory, AND a force ghost?! Dang, even in death, the girl’s got it all. No wonder everyone likes her!
-(*me looking at the TV rating at the start of episode*) “Why is language in there? Is there surprise cuss words or something in this season?” (*sees Horde Prime seize control of a clone for the first time*) “HOLY FREAKING SH—oh that’s why.”
-Applause to the crew for making the “dinner with Prime” scene for making a meal between a sparkly princess, a catgirl, and alien cult leader feel even more uncomfortable than it had a right to.
-(*me throughout the season whenever a clone was onscreen*) Is that Hordak? Is that him? Is that him? Is that him right there? Oh it is—oh no wait. … Is that h—
-Extra applause for having Glimmer learn from her grey-area wetwipe phase and refusing to sell out her friends again whilst telling the imperialist cult leader where to stick it.
-I would pay a sizeable portion of my life savings to hear what a Scorpia and Swift Wind duet would sound like.
-In fact, I’d double it if it was just Scorpia singing.
-Ah what the heck. I would triple it for an entire She-Ra musical!
-As happy as I am to see to see Entrapta interacting with the other princesses again, I have to say that their big reunion left me with some mixed feelings. Here’s a quick rundown:
-Entrapta, a grown autistic woman, being led around on a leash by non-neurodivergent teenagers—again: that’s bad.
-The Princesses confronting Entrapta about joining the Horde: that’s good!
-The Princesses blaming all their problems with the Horde bots on Entrapta’s actions and her hyper fixations alone: that’s bad.
-Entrapta explaining herself, admitting that she regrets her mistakes, and getting the Princesses to understand that she thinks and communicates differently, but in spite of that, she really does want help find Glimmer: that’s good!
-Entrapta never gets to call out the Princesses for how poorly they treated her: that’s bad.
-Entrapta saves the day and goes to space: that’s good!
-Scorpia and Entrapta still haven’t interacted even though the former is with the Rebellion in the first place because she went to look for her because she is her best friend: …can I go home now?
-How nice! Michah finally got to shapeshift!
-And he’s rocking that She-Ra outfit to boot!
-So is Darla a back up of Light Hope or do they just run on the same operating system and have the same voice?
-I could watch an entire season of Adora, Bow, and Entrapta going on space adventure in a rundown ship with their custom-made spacesuits, tbh.
-Is anyone else weirded out that Catra’s younger self looked at her in her flashback(?).
-Actually what WAS happening there, anyhow?
-(*watching Bow’s spacewalk to save Glimmer*) “Is that a Gravity reference?” asked the man who never saw Gravity.
-Speaking of spacewalks, how did Glimmer survive those precious few seconds in space? Does the teleporter teleport a breathable atmosphere too?
-Also, Catra, WHY did you think it would be a good idea to teleport Glimmer into space? I know you had a plan and the ship was right there but… Ah, never mind.
-Not that I’m complaining but Glimmer’s apology to the rest of the friend squad for her HORRIBLE plan last season went… surprisingly quickly.
-You know as cool as The Star Siblings are, being a quirky band of space-travelling siblings with cool powers and some trans rep to boot, I only have one small problem with them: weren’t there already Star Sisters on Etheria back in season 1?
-That doesn’t sound right, but I don’t know enough about Masters of the Universe characters to dispute it.
-Entrapta confirmed pan, objectum, AND horny on main. Dang girl, you’re gonna have fun whether you got Hordak back or not…
-“The Velvet Glove” is both a menacing and stupid name for a decadent overlord’s mothership.
-Wait, it’s from the 80’s canon? Oh. That kind of explains it, actually.
-Goshdangit, I wanted Catra to face punishment for her crimes, but I didn’t think that would involve going to evil alien conversion therapy!
-Nor did I want her to die! For a second. Actually, since it obviously wasn’t going to last I was… weirdly okay with that part???
-Horde Prime seems awfully okay with Catradora. I mean he’s still super creepy and manipulative about it, but also oddly progressive for an evil brainwashing cult leader.
-(*Adora transforms into a She-Ra through seer will*) First of all, called it. Second of all, WOAH MAMA now that’s a glow up!
-Wrong Hordak did not have to be a thing, and yet, I’m glad that he is.
-Hordak remembers the LUVD crystal and Entrapta… Hordak remembers Entrap—! It’s happening! Oh my gosh, it’s happening! Everybody stay calm!
-Wow, Entrapta didn’t have to be so forgiving of Catra for everything she’s done to her but she did. Only I’m not sure if that was Entrapta taking the high road or the low road.
-Or which road the crew took for that matter.
-I remember when I thought those “Chipped AUs” floating around here on tumblr were just something the fans came up with and that chipping people was not an actual despicable thing Prime does in canon. I miss those days.
-I know it’s not the same as before or the original design, but True She-Ra’s designs and powers? I think they slappin’.
-Hooray, Adora and Catra are finally making up! And it only took four and half seasons worth of communication failures, toxic villainous behaviour, and physical violence for Catra to snap out of it!
-…We can go back to Entrapdak now, right?
-Poor Elberon. First they unknowingly adopt a double agent then get invaded by the Horde and now they’re getting brainwashed and chipped by the Galactic Horde. They might be a cute village, but they got some pretty lousy security.
-You know it’s cute that Micah is doing his best to be friends with Frosta and get back in touch with his dad-side, but look I can’t be the only one worried about how the local King is a less proactive leader than the princesses or the known war criminal/abuser, right?
-“The Perils of Peekablue” or as I like to call it, “You Thought ‘Boys Night Out’ Caught You Emotionally Off-guard? Hah! Watch This.”
-You know I didn’t think Scorpfuma would be a thing aside that one moment of flirting near the end of season 4, but they really pushed for it to be a thing! This is… actually pretty great! Perfuma’s not perfect, and I would have appreciated giving them a little more time to bond and form some real chemistry, but at least she reciprocates Scorpia’s sweetness instead of rebuffing it in increasingly aggressive fashion.
-I’m not sure what’s more concerning: that Mermista set a boat on fire, that it’s worded like she had a fling as part of some experimental phase, or that Sea Hawk is turned on by this.
-Peekablue might not be real, (I think?) but he is one dapper dude! Female-to-male redesigns could learn a thing or two from him.
-It involved them getting stung and seizuring, but that was a heck of a way to reintroduce Double Trouble! I swear I got watching them cycle through their transformations in some sort of physical reaction.
-Or maybe that was just me worrying about their wellbeing…
-Okay, I get the Chips are huge, and actually rather clever threat, but how do these characters get chipped in the first place? I get there are chipped people who spread the chips throught the population but where do they get those from???
-Do one of those Horde Prime drones just sneak behind someone, slap a chip on their nape then hand them a whole bagfull and say, “Beep boop beep, Horde Prime’s Light, blah blah blah. Alright have fun, kiddo”?
-Or is it some sort of Alien: Covenant deal where they’re just floating around and Lord help you if one sticks to you?
-HOLY CRAP THEY ACTUALLY GOT SCORPIA TO SING! AND SHE WAS GREAT!
-Oh shoot. Guess I owe the crew twice my life savings now…
-Entrapdak might be what got me into this show, but it’s Double Trouble that kept me around, so you can imagine how happy I was to see them make their grand reappearance!
-Conversly, you can imagine my disappointment when they just disappeared until the finale.
-And on that note: HOW DID YOU GUYS LOSE DOUBLE TROUBLE?!
-You forgot to cherish them, didn’t you?
-So, Scorpia sacrifices herself just after finding a new girlfriend and gaining some newfound confidence, Mermista and Sea Hawk are split up,and Double Trouble didn’t join the main cast. Why can’t you just have fun like a normal cartoon, show?
-Gosh, I love me some shifting title cards!
-Is it just me or did they sneak in some more Annihilation references on Krytis?
(-Said the guy who was too chicken to watch the movie and just read about it and watched a few clips online.)
-(*audibly sighs*) FINE. I guess I like Catradora now. Are you happy now, SPOP Crew? ARE YOU?!
-Hooray, Catra’s got a emotional support animal! And they’re a shapeshifting magic alien cat. Those are the best kind!
-Is it weird that I knew that weird glowing stuff on Krytis was just magic all along, or was it just not hidden very well. Anyways, I like Krytis. I like that we got to see a truly alien world with its own form of magic.
-Plus, we got a logical advancement of the magic versus science subtheme with magic being Horde Prime’s weakness! Neato!
-Getting back on the “which is worse?” wagon for a second, I don’t know what feels less right: that Wrong Hordak’s big revelation and his resolution to free himself and his brothers and friends from Horde Prime’s control is played humorously, or that Real Hordak should be the one having this moment.
-That bit with Castaspella and Shadow Weaver where she tells Casta about Etheria being a living thing with inherent magical property, or whatever, while we got a peaceful shot of some boar creatures sleeping was actually kind of nice. It would have been nicer though if it wasn’t part of a power hungry abuser’s obvious scheme. If only there was a kindly old witch lady character who was in touch with nature and knew just what to say when someone was feeling downOH WAIT.
-Furthermore… Why did Shadow Weaver and Castaspella need to have romantic tension?
-Seriously though, where’s our Madame Razz quota this season? Where’s my supportive magic grandma timelord at, yo?
-Yup, they speedran this season.
-I’m actually really disappointed we didn’t see more of an intergalactic new rebellion rising up to fight Horde Prime’s forces across the universe. Especially if it meant we got to see more Star Sibling action!
-Again, I adore Wrong Hordak but I keep wondering what was keeping the crew from just bringing in Original Flavour Hordak. (You know, aside from teasing us Entrapdak fans and trying to distract us with a loveable new character in the meantime.) I mean he could have done the whole infiltrating the clone squads and tricking them bit, too.
-Heck, he could have done the wink, too!
-I’d gleefully point out Loo-Kee’s cameo this season but apparently, they already made some several seasons ago. That’s what I get for not rewatching the 80’s show and training my eyes first.
-(*sees Erelandians*) Are those freaking Toads and Toadettes?
-So, what’s keeping them from just hitting Spinerella’s chip again? Besides emotional baggage and gale force winds, I mean.
-Perfuma coming out of a cave scared out of her wits, demanding to know who’s there, clinging to her friends as soon as they come back, and balling her eyes out is a big, BIG mood.
-Frosta absolutely decking Catra in the face was nestled somewhere between cathartic and excessive.
-Netossa spraying her with a bottle of water on the other hand…
-Oh, so Greyskull was the name of a Rebel Squad! I think. Meh, the important thing is we got an explanation and it still sounds cool.
-Leave it to a couple of dads to make a secret message out of a dad joke.
-You know I made fun of Light Hope for being creepy, but I swear that avatar from the Spire is even creepier. I don’t know if it’s her face—those dang blank eyes, man—or just that it she’s less animated than the real thing, but it just felt… off.
-Aww, Noelle made Netossa’s princess weakness illustrations! So cute!
-Forget episodes that deserves Emmys, Keston John deserves one for voicing Hordak, Horde Prime, all the clones, and several minor villains and giving each and every single one a distinct voice! Where my king’s respect, eh?
-Yes, Catra you had a small disagreement with Hordak. …Over sending his girlfriend and your “friend” to DIE IN A LITERAL LIVING HELL.
-Sorry, I just had to get that out of my system.
-Why does Perfuma get pressured to get angry and go wild when Entrapta’s the one who’s had it the worst out of all them? Why can’t my gamer girl go berserk, dammit!?
-Okay, but really, how do these fricking chips work??? Are they parasite devices who store Horde Prime’s Baptizing Dew then slowly pump it into their host’s bodies? Do they have their own nervous systems? Are they technorganic? Also, how and why do we need to make these chips are bigger threat then they need to be?
-Horde Prime showing up on Hordak’s throne in grand Killing Joke style and casually throwing shades at his brother’s overblown attempts to impress him is pretty awesome, but it feels strangely underdeveloped. Hordak’s not there to have his hard work insulted and we never got to see Adora have any similar encounter with Hordak here before, so unless you look at it from the perspective of someone who has been here before in the Horde story like Catra it lacks the dramatic weight it should have had.
-Scorpia resisting the chip to save her new friends was pretty great, though.
-I swear, when they got to the scene where Adora and the others figured out that Shadow Weaver was grooming her so she could use her to get to the Heart of Etheria, I was mouthing “You B***H” through the whole thing.
-They really brought back Etherian deep magic just so they had something to make Micah threatening. …okay.
-Okay, the rest of “Failsafe” messed me up, so here’s a rundown on all the other messy thoughts I had while the show ripped my heart and ground it to dog food:
         -Entrapta and Hordak reuniting: Yay!
-Swift Wind yanking her away before she can get through to him: Boo.
-Catra encouraging Adora to try and take care of herself for a change: Yay!
-Adora hurts Catra and she runs away: Boo.
-Adora finally calling out Shadow Weaver on what an utterly horrible person she is: Yay!
-Adora resolves to risk sacrificing herself to save the world: Bo—okay, seriously, was all this suffering really necessary, show?
-I know I mentioned in my previous She-Ra random thoughts that I supported Glimmadora, but I am okay with Catradora and Glimbow ending up canon. The only problem I have is how rushed they feel—moreso with Glimbow. With Catradora, the crew had an entire season to make it work again and they took it. Glimbow it feels like they were down to the last few episodes and went, “Oh right, we were gonna do something with these two!” then did their darndest to fit in some chemistry in between all the other stuff going down.
-As ominous as it was, the music where Horde Prime starts hacking Etheria honestly SLAPS.
-Okay, I know everyone is magic or something, but I am legit surprised getting electrocuted in water didn’t kill the heroes right then and there.
-Sea Hawk tries to flirt with his girl even as she’s trying to kill him. Truly, he is a man of taste.
-What do you know, Shadow Weaver can only do good when she’s (canonically!) punch drunk.
-You know a whole lot of this could have been avoided if Holo-Mara was Adora’s mentor instead of Light Hope.
-When I think about it, it was actually really clever to make Horde Prime the final villain for Adora to face: a domineering decadent man who’s been in power forever against a humble emotionally vulnerable compassionate young woman.
-Not to mention the divide between cult-like oppression and progressive freedom. Or something.
-Holy crap, did the First Ones get a great freaking a Great Old One for a guard dog?!
-So, you guys seriously didn’t bring Angella back to reunite with her family OR mention her all season after the impact her death had on everyone all last season until Glimmer needs a power-up at the last possible minute and then you never bring her up again. That is absolutely a dick move in bird culture.
-Entrapta’s hacker sticker gives me life. Gamer girl gremlin princess forever!
-On the one hand, I’m disappointed that Adora and Catra don’t get to have an awesome couple battle against the security monster and win. On the other hand, Shadow Weaver is finally dead. YAY!
-With apologies to the writers and especially Lorraine Toussaint. She did splendidly bringing this character to life and even if I hated Shadow Weaver, I adored the effort she put into making her one of the most emotionally complex villains I’ve ever seen.
-Words cannot, will not, and will never describe the pure joy that I experienced when I first saw Hordak’s big scene: standing up to and disowning his tyrant brother, saving Entrapta, declaring his love to her (albeit in a nicely lowkey fashion), and then throwing Horde Prime to his apparent doom Disney style with Entrapta cheering him with sheer glee. GOSH, it was everything I could have hoped for from this season!
-Now if only they kept the deleted scene where they got a moment to themselves before Prime body-jacked him again like the creepy sonuvabich he is.
-Horde Prime just wouldn’t be a religious villain if he didn’t tell everyone to burn.
-Bonus points for actually trying to burn the frigging planet.
-Aside from the idea of Adora switching to wearing a She-Ra themed dress everywhere in the future, the future vision was really quite sweet, and seeing Prime step in to ruin it made it all the more impactful.
-Can I just say that it’s absolutely wonderful that the show, for all it’s flaws, said  “**** senseless heroic sacrifices”?
-BREAKING: Lesbian cat finally makes up with her jock ex, has a canon kiss so pure it saves the world!
-In other news, Catradora fans are still spoiled rotten.
-Wow, look at all those character comebacks they skipped through! Look, there’s the chefs from Dryl, Double Trouble, Huntara, the Horde Trio, Imp, Madame Razz—are you kidding me?!
-Grumbling aside, I actually find the idea of the Horde Trio and Imp getting involved in a G-rated science-fantasy version of the first Hangover movie quite amusing.
-Oh dang, they pulled a Castle in the Sky with the Velvet Glove!
-As nice as it was to see Aodra save Hordak from Horde Prime and destroy the latter through exorcism via sheer compassion, I’m rather disappointed we never got to see She-Ra go full Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengence on any creepy old cult leaders.
-Yeah, it would have gone against the “love conquers all” set up, but love takes on many forms, does it not? So, why can it not manifest as cleaving your mortal enemies with extreme prejudice to save your loved ones?
-Furthermore, in addition to Holo-Mara being a better mentor, Hordak raising Adora instead Shadow Weaver could have prevented a lot of similar problems. Maybe. Possibly.
-Eh whatever, he has a lifetime’s worth of fanfiction to make up for it.
-ENTRAPDAK IS CANON, ALL IS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD.
-And so is Catradora and Glimbow! That’s nice, too.
-Aww, how sweet of them to skip through Catra and Scorpia, and Glimmer and Micah’s big reunions! It’s not like we’ve been waiting forever for this stuff or anything. HahahahAHAHAHDHAHAHFHAFHKSADJHFKAJHDfine.
-And so it all ends with everyone either friends, in love, or both, as heroes decide to make up for it all with a grandiose sequel promising more exciting space adventures we probably won’t see! HOORAY!
-All snarky ranting aside, I actually really enjoyed the finale. It was exciting, heartwarming, and above all it ended on happy, hopeful note without leaving too many frustrating questions unanswered. (*glares with utmost contempt at Voltron and Star vs. The Forces of Evil*)
-You know, this wasn’t bad for a final season, but I think this might have worked better as two seasons. Not in Netflix’s cheap “split a regular 13-episode season in two 6-7 episode long seasons” strategy, but I mean two full seasons with their own storylines leading up to the grand finale:
-First, one that starts out with Horde Prime’s arrival the downfall of Etheria, focuses on the space adventures, ends with their return to Etheria and gives the characters time to recuperate from season 4.
-Then, we have one final season that focuses on the Best Friend Squad’s Return to Etheria, Horde Prime’s plan, gives everyone more time to properly reconcile before ¾ of the entire cast gets chipped, sets up a new Rebellion made up of Princess Alliance and former Etherian Horde members, maybe even set up a proper Hordak redemption arc or something, and then our big happy ending.
-On a mostly unrelated note, I also feel that the whole show could have turned out even better if it had been either a dedicated science-fantasy war drama with some levity (like the good Star Wars shows or Avatar: The Last Airbender) or a lighthearted yet empowering slice-of-life action-adventure romcom (i.e. basically a well-made remake of the original show in the style of Adventure Time and Parks and Rec or something).
-My final random thought for this whole thing: we really could have used a triumphant end credits song or something. Aside from obviously recommending Fabulous Secret Powers, I would have also recommended the original 4 Non Blondes “What’s Going On,” a reprise of “Warriors,” Gorillaz’s “We Got the Power,” or (my favourite) Talking Head’s “(Nothing But) Flowers” since the ending scenes remind me of it.
Thanks again to the crew for giving me something to live for and/or complain about!
Now, let’s hope the He-Man reboots do as well...

Good Intentions
Ao3
Based off this post. You guys really seemed to like it, so here you go.
The plan to ruin Marinette Dupain-Cheng’s reputation and credibility was well under way. And while there had been a bump in the road with Bustier undoing her seat switch plan at the end of the day, Lila still considered the day a victory. After all, she managed to sow the seeds of distrust, and the class managed to believe her over Marinette. She gave the baker girl maybe a month, tops, before everything came crashing down on her, and with no way to prove that Lila had anything to do with it.
Of course, there was still the issue of Adrien, but he was a pushover. All he wanted was to make friends! He had no spine, and it would only be a matter of time before she had him twisted around her little finger.
That night, maybe an hour or so before retiring to bed, she hatches her next plan and hits up Alya with a text:
L: Hey, Alya? Could I have Marinette’s number? I’d like to work things out with her and maybe even get her opinion on some clothes??
Usually, for texts like these, she gets a pretty immediate response. She even gets the animation indicating that Alya is typing a message, only for it to stop and no message to be sent. Frowning, she places the phone down on her desk as she goes about browsing social media profiles of her classmates and the stars she’s supposedly schmoozed with, checking to see if there are any new updates. About thirty minutes pass when Alya finally responds, and Lila can’t help but roll her eyes at what might have possibly kept Alya for so long.
A: heyyy, i think it’s great u want to get along w Mari, but i think it’s better 2 give her some space after 2day. but if it’s an emergency, i can ask her 4 u!
Squinting her eyes, she gives the text a long, hard glance before realizing that it’s real. It has to be some sort of joke. There’s no real reason Alya should be hesitant in giving her something like this.
L: I was worried about this. Marinette must really hate me if she doesn’t even want to give me her number!
A satisfied smirk spreads across her face as she waits for the inevitable anxious reply. Surely, Alya wouldn’t want her new friend to feel so left out and targeted, right? Once again, the texting animation is quickly evident, and she can practically hear Alya apologizing for making her feel so bad about it.
A: i swear it’s not like that!!! just give her some time & she’ll warm up, i swear!! so how about those outfits!?
Scowling, she quickly responds with a half-hearted “never mind, I’ll ask Clara’s designer instead,” and tosses the phone across the room onto her bed with a sigh. Perhaps it’s just a fluke, and maybe tomorrow, when Lila comes face to face with Alya, she can corner her into giving up Marinette’s number. It’s not something she should be this worried about anyway, but if she’s going to forge fake messages, she needs to make it look like they had contact with each other.
For now, that idea is on hold. Still, there’s plenty of ways to shake things up the next morning.

While having a position of power made you respected, it also made you stress out over every other little thing, and put you in a position of criticism. Thankfully, Lila doesn’t have to contend with the responsibilities of Class Rep, and can instead content herself to push Marinette’s buttons instead.
“...And the class vs class picnic will be happening next Friday,” she says, finishing the morning announcements, “Please make sure to bring athletic attire to change into, because we will  be getting messy. Does anyone have any questions?”
Oh boy, does Lila ever. She meekly raises her hand, making sure at least one or two other classmates note the wary expression on her face. Biting back a sigh, Marinette points to her and asks, “Yes?”
“Um, well, I’m not sure I can handle anything outdoorsy,” she pouts, holding out her hand, “My wrist is busted and I can’t really throw anything.”
“Oh, you don’t have to worry about that,” Mylene interrupts, smiling cheerfully, “We made sure to include some non-athletic activities, like making friendship bracelets and writing nature haikus! If you don’t want to use pen and paper, you should be able to bring your tablet!”
With her lips curling inward, Lila has to bite back a dark glare. Something was definitely up. She’s not sure what, but Marinette must have told them something about the previous day. It’s difficult to tell because Marinette doesn’t have a very distinctive expression, but Lila would be a fool to believe otherwise.
And she would certainly not be that.
“That’s very nice of you to think of me,” she says, trying to bite back tears, “But, um, I don’t even know if I’ll be able to go that day, anyway. I’m supposed to be volunteering at a charity event to help reduce carbon emissions. Is it possible that we could have the picnic a day earlier? Or the next week?”
Some glances are exchanged in the rows before conversation breaks out. As she expects, Marinette’s face contorts with annoyance, and she opens her mouth to say something, but she’s cut off by Alya, who places a hand on her shoulder, and shakes her head. Turning to Lila, she says, “Actually, me and Mari spent a lot of time organizing this event with the other student reps, and it wouldn’t be fair to suddenly reschedule like that. But I assure you that we have some other events in the future that we’ll be more easily able to take your schedule into account, just as long as you tell us ahead of time, Lila.”
“Oh,” she pouts, blinking as rapidly as she can. “That’s too bad. I was really looking forward to going too…” she says with a sigh.
“Well,” Mylene offers, “We can always throw you a picnic another day. That way, Marinette and the other student reps don’t have to worry about all that rescheduling, and you can still have fun hanging out with us. Right, guys?”
The chattering, the annoying, annoying chattering grows more excited, as if they already have it planned in stone. As though they no longer have to give Lila anymore thought or concern. Of course, she’d have to be gracious and just accept it, right?
There’s still no sign from Marinette that she’s in on it, or that she’s satisfied with the turn out. For someone who hates lying so much, she must be pretty good at it. There’s no way she’s innocent.
Still, Lila has no choice but to playfully bat her eyes and practically coo at the suggestion. “You’re all just so wonderful! I would love that, of course!”
A pen snaps in her hands, and the ink covers the knee of her leggings. But her forced smile doesn’t falter for a second, lest she want to draw unwanted attention.
---
Marinette is naive to leave her backpack by itself, without a single eye to watch it. It seems that Chloe failed at her job at instilling fear in the school, if Marinette was going around carefree without any sort of protection. But that leaves Lila free to sneak into her bag and plant the answers for the test that they finished taking-
A sudden, squeakish voice interrupts, causing her to drop the paper.
“There you are, Lila!” Rose says cheerfully, “What are you doing?”
Jumping, it takes her a moment to realize she’s dropped the paper. She unfortunately can’t see where it landed, and she finds herself sputtering, sputtering, her response, “O-Oh, Rose! I-I was just… I found Marinette’s backpack!”
“Oh, she was looking for that!” Rose says, picking it up and hugging it to her chest, “That’s awfully nice of you, Lila! Marinette was looking for that.”
“It’s not a big deal! I just wanted to help out a friend, you know?”
“You really are a sweetheart, you know?” Rose says, patting her shoulder, “Still, I think we’re better off just telling Marinette it was in the lost or found.”
She blinks. “What? Why?”
“Well, we don’t want to give Marinette the wrong idea,” Rose points out, “You might be trying to help her, but knowing her, she’ll probably think you tampered with her stuff.”
“I can’t believe she thinks so little of me,” Lila sniffs, “I’m only trying to help.”
“Oh, we know,” Rose says, patting her shoulder, “And someday she’ll be able to see that. But I think she’s really coming around. Just a little more time and she’ll see just how cool you really are!”
As they leave the area, Lila waits for a moment to sneak back into the backpack, but the opportunity never presents itself. Soon enough, Marinette is reunited with her backpack, and Lila knows from her narrowed leer, she’s bound to search through the bag to make sure it wasn’t tampered with.
--
There is no doubt in her mind that this is deliberate sabotage. Marinette said something to get these goons to follow her around and interrupt at the most opportune and least convenient moments. Plan after plan, ruined because they “don’t want Marinette getting the wrong impression of her!”
Well, with any luck, that was going to stop today.
She is quick to follow Marinette into the bathroom and pin her against the walls.
“So, you think you’re so smart, huh? Getting your friends to keep an eye on me and keep you out of trouble?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Stop lying!” Lila shouts, “Playing stupid isn’t your forte! I know you said something about me to them to ruin my plans! Well, guess what? I have plenty of methods that’ll get you expelled.”
“Just what the hell do you think you’re doing, Lila?” Alya’s booming voice calls out, holding a phone in front of her. Behind her are Alix, Mylene, Rose and Juleka, who all share darkened expressions and are ready to voice their distaste. She has to think of something quick if she’s going to recover and get control of the situation again.
“A-Alya,” she stammers, trying to force a smile, “M-Marinette was just, um, she was bullying me! Can you believe it?”
“No, I can’t,” Alya retorts, “Because I just captured footage for the past few minutes of you attacking Marinette in the bathroom and threatening to get her expelled! And after everything we did for you, trying to help you get along with her, especially at Adrien’s suggestion!” She clicks her tongue.
Blinking, she looks from Marinette back to Alya. Adrien? Adrien was the one to calculate this plan? She supposed it would make some degree of sense - Adrien was hardly the type to get his hands dirty when he had assistants and money to do that for him. Still, there was no way the boy with the least amount of backbone in the entire school would go out of his way to sabotage her, especially not for Marinette.
“You’re a liar,” Lila hisses, before trying to smile again, “Adrien would never suggest something so diabolical.”
“Since when was trying to help people get along diabolical?” Alix points out, “If anyone is headed toward the realm of villainy and bullying, it’s you. Anything else you want to confess to?”
And for once, Lila’s out of stories to spin.

Forgive Me Pt. 1
Description: Chloe tells Bea off with Poppy watching to prove her loyalty as hard as it is for her to do. Words she would soon which she never spoke because she may not get a chance to tell Bea what she really wants to say.
Pairing: Chloe x MC(Bea)
...
The hardest thing she would ever do was about to happen. Poppy, her leader finally decided that Chloe stand up for herself and show this farm girl that Poppy was powerful and her minions were loyal.
Chloe did not want to do this. Bea was a smart girl with a dirty mouth and everyone ranked lower than 50 adored her because she wasn’t afraid. Chloe admired the girl, she was all of those things and so beautiful. She was Poppy’s kryptonite.
Poppy demanded that Chloe stand up and defend her and Chloe finally gave in once Bea harmlessly teased her about being Poppy’s lap dog. Chloe wasn’t anyone’s lap dog, she was number 2 in the rankings, she earned her spot.
But nonetheless, Chloe was facing an exile from Poppy’s circle if she didn’t perform the task,
“Bea you’re just jealous that you’re a butterface wannabe, who needs the approval of the entire student body to take us down, but guess what? We’re still standing and you’ll never have the power that Poppy has. You’re a no one so just go on back to your trailer and tend to the livestock.”
Bea just stood there shocked. Poppy looking over at her with that smirk. For the first time, Bea was speechless. She never thought Chloe would ever tell her off, especially after the progress they had made in Anthropology.
The entire situation was messed up. Chloe obviously liked Bea and Bea liked Chloe. But Bea hates Poppy and Chloe worships Poppy. So Chloe was too scared to act on her feelings for Bea due to the potential exile from her ‘bestie’ that was Poppy.
Bea couldn’t take the hurt anymore, rankings and rep be damned, she wasn’t going to just stand there, so she ran to clear her head.
She grabbed her car and headed for the open road, it always helped her back home. Except she never came home, something no one could answer for.
Until Chloe was sitting in Anthropology, sulking over the missing person that sat next to her, it was all her fault she thought. But to make her feel worse, Zoe appeared and whispered something into Kingley’s ear. The look on her face made Chloe curious, whatever it was, it wasn’t good.
Zoe approached her next, heart beginning to accelerate, she knew what this was. What Zoe was about to say.
“Bea is in the hospital...she had a car wreck. She’s gonna be fine, a few broken bones and scratches.”
Chloe darted for the door and to the parking lot. She had to be with Bea. This was her fault and she had to fix it. Poppy couldn’t stop her this time, The T itself could ruin her and it was ok. She just wanted Bea to be ok.
Chloe was on a mission to her car, Poppy herself physically tried to stop her when she saw her frantically running across the quad to the parking garage.
“Chloe damnit! I said stop! What are you doing?! You’re suppose to be in class!”
Chloe shook loose from Poppy’s grip and continued on to her car.
She may have ignored a few lights and speed limit signs, I mean aren’t they just a suggestion? Nonetheless, Chloe made it to the hospital and dashed inside quickly getting the room information needed.
She made it to the room and quickly dropped to Bea’s side crying. Bea was asleep with a few bandages and a neck brace, but all her vitals seemed ok to the untrained eye.
She grabbed the blonde’s hand and never let go. She slowly and gently rubbed her thumb over the back of Bea’s hand, humming quietly until she woke up. The silence gave her plenty of time to consider her words. She knew she was sorry, but how did she explain that she wanted Bea in a way that wasn’t out of sympathy? But love.
Bea came to, her head pounding and body aching. She couldn’t move her head but she felt a comforting sensation stroking the back of her hand. She finally made out the figure to be Chloe, which immediately got her attention to full capacity.
“Bea you’re awake!” Chloe greeted, quickly rising to her feet but not letting go of her hand.
“What happened? Where am I?” Bea asked groggily.
“You’re in the hospital. You were in a wreck. The cop came by and said you were rear ended at a stop sign.” Chloe explains, telling Bea everything and getting her up to date in her injuries.
“I feel awful.” Bea resounded to the news. Chloe felt a ping of guilt in her chest, she knew the feeling real well, just in another aspect. It was technically her fault. Bea wouldn’t have been in that wreck if she hadn’t told her off.
“Hey Bea? There’s something I want to tell you.” Chloe started, scooting her chair closer to the bed. She began gently stroking Bea’s bangs and forehead.
“I just wanted to tell you how awful I feel and how sorry am I for what I said yesterday. I didn’t mean any of it I swear.”
“You seemed pretty convincing.” Bea stated.
“It was for Poppy. I needed her to approve. She would have seen right through me.”
“Chloe, when are you going to start doing what YOU want and not what she wants. For Christ sakes lady grow up.” Bea hissed, ignoring the pain.
“You don’t understand! She’s my friend, I’ve already made her mad once today! I’m gonna be rui...”
“Who cares!” Bea snapped cutting Chloe off. “You need to do what’s best for you. If that’s what you think is best, being her lap dog then go ahead, just leave.”
There it was again, Chloe was not a lap dog. She even stopped stroking Bea’s forehead to free up her hands to help talk.
“I told you before! I’m no lap dog! I’m here aren’t I? I left school to sit 4 hours with you because I was worried to death! I don’t care about the rankings, or Poppy. I only care about you!” Chloe finally admitted.
“You what?” Bea asked taken back.
Chloe sighed and regained herself, “I’m in love with you Bea Hughes. I want you to be mine and I’m here right now swearing myself to you. I’ll take care of you.”
Bea wanted to cry, but Chloe wouldn’t let her. She was carefully wiping her tears away.
“It’s about time.” Bea said trying to laugh, Chloe leaning over to kiss her carefully.
“Now Dr. Chloe, when you get me all fixed up, I’m going to be taking you out on a proper date.” Bea said confidently.
“I’ll hold you to that.”

CILVEKAN ESPIONAGE TURNS PARLIAMENT INTO A BATTLEFIELD by Jeon Wonwoo and Kwon Soonyoung
The Porta Persa Edition, October 12th
Words that break like cannon shots, arguments that burn like incendiaries, bulwarks of statements that are hardly impenetrable—such is a terrifying and impressive sight to behold upon the ancient halls of the Parliament in these last few weeks. The fate of the two Cilvekan agents who were previously caught in Lower Efendel had been a divisive force upon the venerated legislative body of our nation; rendering them into a heated stalemate.
Armed with wit and sound proofs, Conservatives led by Atlen County Representative Kang Jinho campaigned for stringent travel restrictions, as well as a thorough examination of all Cilvekan nationals entering and leaving Porta Persa. He contends that the security of this powerful nation must not be compromised for simple material gains.
Pointing an accusing finger at the trading and tourism industry which has seen immense growth in profits due to the inflow of foreign immigrants and visitors into the country, Conservatives have been critical of lax travel regulations over the years in which they view, as in Rep. Kang’s words, as a means for ‘alien entities’ to ‘wreak havoc in this peaceful land’ and ‘further their covert operations to diminish and weaken the stability of Porta Persa’. According to Rep. Kang, it is rightfully so that sacrifices are to be made to ensure that no foreign powers would dare to assert their influence over this country.
On the other side of the argument lie Santaragossa Assembly Representative Lee Jihoon, the flagship of both Libertarians and Moderates on this matter, who, with his rapid fire responses, have advocated for softer regulations and an extensive counterintelligence program instead.
In his speech to Congress today, Rep. Lee disputes that economic factors are hardly simple, and should not be diminished into mere ‘increase of gains’. In his words ‘There are people who, if harsher travel restrictions are thus placed, will be left for wild dogs to eat, for the weather to beat and rattle their bones on the cold earth. With no means of a livelihood to provide for themselves, what will become of them? For us who have a roof to sleep in, and food on the table to eat, it is easy for us to say that travel restrictions are a minor inconvenience. Yet for these people, harsher travel restrictions are equivalent to a death sentence.’
He further advocates for a better counterintelligence program wherein proper and stronger defenses are to be implemented only at the appropriate areas, as this is not only cost effective, but also ensures that the livelihood and the human rights of all people in Porta Persa, whether be citizen, immigrant, tourist and whatnots are protected and venerated…
“Lee Jihoon was truly frightening during that session. I swear to god, sitting there feels like he’s attacking me personally.”
Unlike the usual, the three of you were not relaxing comfortably outside the lush courtyards of the Royal Academy, eating carefully prepared lunches and enjoying the view. Instead, late morning sunlight poured from the open windows, illuminating the wooden desk and chair you were sitting on, silently listening to your friends.
To your right, sat said friends: Wonwoo and Soonyoung who were fresh from the printers, the rancid smell of ink sticking to their regal school uniform. On Soonyoung’s hands was the freshly printed draft of your newspaper, which was to be released the next day.
He folded the newspaper and tossed it beside you on the desk.
“He’s been like that for what? A week now, I reckon?”
“Two, in my opinion.” Wonwoo answered, adjusting his glasses. He was the calmer kind of fellow. Soonyoung was more theatrical.
“Oh good god, it’s been two weeks already?” Soonyoung exclaimed, his lips ajar. “No wonder Y/N is here all the time!”
Wonwoo glanced at you, who simply turned away and faced the open window. “Why are you here exactly?”
You continued to grind Alizarin berries on your portable mortar and pestle with a nonchalant look on your face. “I’m making your allergy medicine.”
“Not yesterday and in the last few weeks,” Wonwoo retorted back, giving you an inquisitive look. “Now tell me, is it because of Lee Jihoon?”
Groaning, you continued to pour all of your irritation at the poor powdered berries in your mortar. “Must the reason always be Lee Jihoon?”
“Well, why are you here then?” Soonyoung shrugged, glancing at you with raised brows.
Exasperated, you sighed and left the mortar and pestle alone for once. In all honesty, the reason was indeed Lee Jihoon. After he saw your breakdown two weeks ago, you were avoiding him at all cost because you knew he was going to ask you about it and you were not one to divulge such sensitive topics.
Of course, you wouldn’t let them know. “The way my room looks is just nauseating.”
Soonyoung made an incredulous frown while Wonwoo snorted.
“Right.” They both said.
Having childhood friends has its own disadvantages: you couldn’t really hide anything from them. Yet you wouldn’t tell them anything for that matter. Your room was indeed nauseating, spinning around and around as your vision blur if you just stay in one position for far too long. The way your stomach churns and your legs buckle because of the amount of suppressants you were taking to block your soulmate connection was something you simply cannot express into words.
You stare at the red powder inside the mortar. The smell was making you lurch, reminding you of the suppressant, yet you expertly concealed it with a cough and a broad change of subject.
“Aren’t we supposed to go somewhere today?” you asked, adding more berries to the mortar.
“No, it’s on Friday, 3pm,” Wonwoo replied, checking his travel sized planner. “For some time, Soonyoung and I have been tracing documents from Luce Trading to see if they could give us some clues. But most of them inexplicably got lost or destroyed from last year’s flooding, but thankfully, Soonyoung found some in a novelty shop.”
Upon hearing, you quirked a brow at them. “That is quite interesting. It is possible that something important is in those documents, especially when they had deemed it necessary to destroy them. It seems like fortune is on our side today.”
Wonwoo nodded. “Exactly my thoughts.”
“I reckon, those documents can finally settle the question of who their actual victims are,” the other male remarked with a considerate nod. “We can actually take a step forward in this investigation!”
You forced a smile. Truly, you were elated but the way your heart was palpitating wasn't feeling that great to you. Wonwoo adjusted his glasses once more, a habit he has acquired whenever he was thinking of something.
"Quite frankly, I still haven't forgotten what Jihoon had told me a few months ago," he started, fidgeting with his hands. "And god knows if he's telling me the truth or throwing us off the scent."
"Oh that one..." Soonyoung exclaimed, nodding. You glanced at the two of them, looking betrayed.
"Why have I no knowledge of this?" You asked, eyes shooting daggers.
The two boys quickly exchanged glances and panicked.
"You haven't told Y/N?" Wonwoo asked the other male, who was beginning to pout.
"What…I thought you told Y/N!" He replied, pointing at you.
What seemed like a little misunderstanding was going to become a lot of bickering later on, so as you rolled your eyes, you put yourself between the two of them.
"Alright, enough. Just tell me what Lee Jihoon said," you spoke sternly, hands on your hips.
“It’s not as straightforward as you think,” Wonwoo recounted. “Jihoon kept going in circles about our newspaper, Alex Fireflower—”
“Me?” you exclaimed, furrowing your brow.
“Yes, you. And the Gestalt case,” Wonwoo continued, acknowledging you. “At first, I was under the impression that he was simply inquiring what my thoughts were with regards to the Gestalt case as a fellow classmate, yet as it turned out, he appears to be hinting that it was a suicide case.”
A bewildered look was what you gave him, not understanding how a blatantly homicide case could possibly be a suicide. “I need you to expound further than that.”
Your friend shrugged. “That’s where the problem lies. We know that the Gestalts might be involved in the sex trafficking ring due to the judicial records we’ve discovered before, yet to what extent is a matter we have no knowledge of.”
“Oh, yes, that tax evasion case filed against Luce Trading that was suddenly dismissed by court with no apparent reason…it seems malicious, yet I still doubt that it should be considered a connection to the syndicate” Soonyoung remarked.
“Those things usually happen yet everything involved in this case should be accounted for. Even including the possibility of it being a suicide,” Wonwoo continued.
“Yet logistically speaking, how can it possibly be a suicide?” You asked, clearly unconvinced. “Lee Jihoon is merely giving us chaff.”
“That is the reason why I cannot just stop thinking about it. It’s perplexing.”
“You’re just doing mental exercises, Wonwoo,” you dismissed him. “Trusting Lee Jihoon is definitely not advisable. He’s a politician. We might be unaware that he is in fact a part of that syndicate, and is simply playing cat and mouse with us.”
Wonwoo heaved a long sigh, leaning against the bedpost. “That, I won’t deny.”
“Rather than running on conjectures, we should proceed with the investigation instead,” Soonyoung interrupted solemnly. “We simply do not have the entire narrative.”
"I completely agree," you replied, leaning against the table as you go through another wave of stomach cramps with much composure. "Let's…lay out what we know first."
The two of them nodded at you, which you considered a signal to begin.
"So, we know that some government officials are involved in a sex trafficking scheme. Why do we know that?"
Soonyoung answered. "Because Wonwoo unintentionally eavesdropped a conversation between his father and a parliament member, who was trying to ask him to vote against the amendment of the Soulmate bond."
"He offered my father membership to the syndicate among other things…" Wonwoo quietly continued, perusing his thoughts.
"Right. We know that the Gestalt case is somewhat related to the syndicate. Why?"
"For one, that parliament member who had attempted to lobby for my father's vote was asking him to vote against the amendment which has stemmed from the Gestalt case. It could possibly be a stretch but we should not deny it."
Nodding, you continued. "And the fact that we had found out that Rene Gestalt had already died right after the High Court suspension. And had died under a different name and under a mysterious circumstance."
"If Rene Gestalt was a simple nobody, he wouldn’t have died in that manner," Soonyoung added. "And that tax evasion case shouldn't have been dismissed so easily."
"Luce Trading is more profitable than Kwon International, isn't it?" You asked, but Soonyoung immediately replied.
"Hey now! We had better sales for the past decade!"
You giggled, "Alright, my apologies."
"I still find it hard to fit the pieces though," Wonwoo interrupted. "Why Luce Trading? Why did Himi Gestalt die but not Rene? What exactly happened?"
The three of you exchanged glances.
"We need more information."
You leaned back, sighing as you felt the heaviness of the possible truth you have in your hands. Wonwoo and Soonyoung were pretty much the same. That’s why, more than anything, you didn’t want any sort of distraction, especially those that involve soulmate bonds.
“In the meantime, Y/N,” Wonwoo began, giving Soonyoung a look and then the two gazed at you with concerned expressions. “Are you truly, definitely, a hundred percent, alright?”
You knitted your brows, and immediately replied. “I’ve never been better.”
“No…! No, what we meant is…” Soonyoung was the one who responded. “You…you fought with your father, didn’t you?”
It was a sudden inquiry, you can admit that, but you were not at least surprised they had asked. Your father must’ve gone to Soonyoung’s father and then they informed him of the matter.
“A few weeks ago, yes,” you told them, nonchalant as you added more berries to the mortar. “I have decided to cut ties with him once and for all. He’s nothing to me now.”
You noticed that they were taken aback, but it was an expected reaction. The decision was indeed done in the heat of the moment, yet you didn’t feel anymore remorseful.
“You do not have to worry about me. I have you two, and our newspaper is doing quite well in sales,” you reassured them. “Cutting him off is simply removing dead weight off my shoulders.”
Without any warning, Soonyoung pulled you to a tight embrace and Wonwoo followed soon after. You simply stayed still in surprise, as they continued to console you silently, knowing that you didn’t need any words to make you feel better.
“Y/N, please know that we will always be here for you,” Wonwoo began. “We’ve been together since we were children, and we’ll always will be.”
“If you wish to get something off your chest, we are always here to listen. You don’t have to carry everything by yourself.”
You grimaced at this, but hid it easily by burying yourself underneath their embrace. You’ll tell them everything someday, but now, you simply wish to brave the storm by yourself.
“I will.”
"Jihoon!"
Heavy footfalls echo across the marbled hallways of the Parliament. Rows of white columns line up on the curve, the view of Porta Persa easily seen with just one turn of a head.
"Jihoon, please wait for a moment!"
Harsh steps that march through with controlled frustration, and another set which was running after them. Nobody was on sight other than two men who were adorned by their heavy purple robes, billowing with the wind.
"Lee Jihoon!"
"What is it ?!" The other snapped, his eyes piercing and intense.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs sighed, his demeanor tinged with concern. The whole Parliament hearing was tense and unnerving, and Lee Jihoon seemed to be in the middle of the swirling storm.
"I simply wanted to see if you are doing well," Joshua offered, his voice calm, yet the other simply scoffed.
"What do you suppose?" he replied, his tone filled with frustration and sarcasm. "If we lose next week's vote, it'll be all over!"
Joshua reached out for Jihoon's shoulder, trying to help the other through his temper.
"Alright Jihoon, listen to me. We still have time. We can still convince the others to vote against the bill."
"But we need fifty more votes! Where in heaven's name are we going to find those?" He exclaimed and then groaned, resounding through the deserted hall.
"You need to calm down, Jihoon!" Joshua reminded, shaking some sense into him. "You're making a mountain out of a mole hill!"
The dark haired male blinked, stunned by the sudden loudness of his friend's voice. The high had finally subsided in his veins as he huffed and removed himself from Joshua's grasps.
"Jihoon…"
"I apologize. I'm simply exhausted," he replied, sighing as he turned his back to the other. "While this issue has been particularly draining, my soulmate bond is eating my energy away as well."
Joshua blinked, wondering what was the matter this time. They had left Jihoon in his dorm room that day as instructed, yet for some reason after that, he seemed to have become more snappish and gloomy.
Jihoon sighed once more, probably the nth time for today.
"She…she was crying when she arrived, you know. I have no inkling as to why but it did hurt me…seeing her like that," he continued, now more to himself than to Joshua. "I wanted to comfort her or do something, anything…but she pushed me away, both physically and mentally. It's been weighing on me since then."
Without a word, Joshua walked towards him and placed an understanding tap on his shoulder. "I wish I can offer you some help."
At this point, Jihoon simply shook his head with a downcast smile. "There is nothing we can do about it if she doesn't want me."
Those words, as he said it, felt more painful than he had anticipated. Yet that was the truth—she had blocked him, in more ways than one. Jihoon wished he knew why yet he had already spent enough sleepless nights on it that he didn't need more.
"In the meantime, it would be nice if we had those fifty votes before the weekend."
Oct. 14th
Desmere District, Porta Persa
"So, it's here?" You asked, standing in front of a decrepit shop, flanked by two of your friends. "Are you sure it's here?"
You weren’t really one to judge but the way the roof shingles were about to fall, the dull green paint peeling off the door, and the dusty shop window filled by various junk accumulated over the years, was telling a rather clear story.
You could even  hardly read the name of the shop.
“52nd Oppleton street, Esmond Novelty Shop….Yes, without a doubt this is the one!” Soonyoung replied cheerfully, grinning ear to ear, “Come on now! No time to waste!”
Wonwoo glanced at you with a knowing look as he followed after Soonyoung through the door. Today seemed to be one of those days where Wonwoo was in a rather irritatingly playful mood. “You heard him. No time to waste now, Y/N.”
It wasn’t new for you to be the victim of their teasing, but you didn’t appreciate it either when it comes. Thus, as you rolled your eyes and pursed your lips, you threw your hesitation out of the window. Following closely behind, you heard the charming bell chime above you as soon as you entered, yet the dust which wafted through the air was not as charming as you had feared.
“Welcome to our shop! Feel free to look around and see if anything suits your fancy!” A male voice greeted you three, though you cannot make out a clear image of him as he seemed to be covered by the centuries old dust.
“Ah, we’re actually looking for someone…” Soonyoung replied, fishing a piece of parchment inside the pocket of his vest. “Um…a Madame Adora?”
While the three of you seemed to be unsure, the tall burly man, which you have now seen after the dust has settled, nodded in understanding.
“Yes, yes. Please follow me. Her shop is at the back,” he replied and turned around, not waiting for you to respond.
Exchanging curious glances, you followed close behind—carefully studying your surroundings as you did. There were a lot of books for one. Stacks upon stacks of leather tomes piled on top of another which was rather deadly if one wrong move was made. The shopkeeper, seemingly used to this dangerous environment, easily navigated his way through the path provided.
There were a lot of miscellaneous items as well: old shoes, typewriters, some ornate desks which were long forgotten. Dirty porcelain dolls, dull grey candelabras, and even a baby grand piano covered with various knickknacks—essentially, this was a shop of extras: once loved, tossed away and buried under the sands of time. Their fate seemed to have given you a melancholic mood, yet there is little you can do to change it.
“Where do you find all of these?” Wonwoo asked, curious as he perused over an old book about outdated potions.
“There are numerous ways,” the man shrugged, dodging a stray pole which was protruding from a pile of junk. “Sometimes we buy them from people who move houses, sometimes they just give it to us, and some just find their way here.”
His words immediately reminded you of the thought that objects do have souls in them. They used to be someone’s important thing; they were once given meaning and context by the people who used to own them. This place had become their new home now, amidst the sea of other objects that were no different.
A light knock on wood snatched you from your thoughts as you averted your attention back to the matter at hand. The shopkeeper had stopped in front of a slightly ajar door, peeking carefully at the space.
“Madame, these people wish to speak to you,” he called out, yet he was met by silence and a rather loud creaking of a chair being moved. A grainy “let them in” soon followed, though you were not as sure since it was just above a murmur.
Nodding, the shopkeeper moved and allowed you space to walk inside the room. With rather modest postures, the three of you silently entered in file, easily spotting a worn out loveseat, which was probably a bright emerald in its youth, to sit on. It was a rather small space, enough to be a breakfast room, with second hand furniture and astrology-related objects littered around to give a sense of mystique.
“Robert, fetch those documents for me please,” the old woman ordered, who you hardly noticed with how she was almost covered by the wooden desk before her. The shopkeeper, who was apparently named Robert hummed and disappeared, closing the door shut.
As soon as he was gone, you scooted on your seat to take a closer look of the old woman. Just as you had anticipated, Madame Adora was petit, but was made to look larger by her bulky dress adorned by stars and moons embroidered in metallic thread. It had the same fabric as her headpiece which was wrapped around her head like a towel. The one which caught most of your attention however, was the large dangling sun and moon earrings which were as big as her head. You wondered if they were as heavy as they looked.
“Um…we’re—” Wonwoo began but was instantly halted by the Madame with just one hand.
“I know what you seek, my dear children,” she began, her voice croaky. Probably from smoking a bit too much; you thought as you noticed the ashtray on her table next to the burning sage.
The three of you raised your eyebrows, wondering what Madame Adora could’ve meant by her words. She seemed to be the eccentric type, and you wouldn’t be surprised if she busted out tarot cards and a crystal ball any minute.
“You are on your path to fulfill a great purpose for humanity. It is a fate neither you nor this country can avoid,” she continued, making you glance at Wonwoo and Soonyoung. You wanted to ask them if she was sane, but out of courtesy, you decided to keep your mouth shut.
“O-Of course…that—that’s what we’re trying to do,” Soonyoung replied awkwardly as he shifted on his seat. “But we do need to—”
“Yet be cautioned. This path does not offer refuge nor solace for the tired and weary. You will be accompanied by danger, deceit and the deep dark evils of this world. You will face adversaries stronger and larger than you had anticipated. Poke the bear, and its claws shall appear. Be strong and always seek for the truth.”
“Uh…yes, of course,” you replied, ending with uncertainty. “So the documents—”
“Ah, yes. Robert will be here soon,” she interrupted yet again. “While we wait, would any of you like a tarot reading?”
“T-tarot reading?” Soonyoung exclaimed, as he leaned forward, not sure if he had heard it right.
What a surprise. You simply smiled.
Interrupting your gloating, Soonyoung suddenly nudged you with his elbow, making you look at him.
“What?” you asked, your voice a whisper.
“Y-you do it, Y/N!” He replied, his expression not betraying the fact that he was a bit afraid.
“What? Me? Of course not! Do you suppose I believe in such buffoonery?”
“Now, now. It’s just tarot cards, what harm could it possibly do to you? Attack you with a paper cut?” Soonyoung immediately replied, even though he was the one who got frightened first.
“Soonyoung is right, Y/N,” Wonwoo joined in, though you knew he was trying to gang up on you. “Besides, you wouldn’t be so cruel to deny this poor woman an income, would you?”
You closed your eyes, and breathed in—incredibly irritated by this game Wonwoo was playing today. However, you just didn’t have the energy to pick up a fight with how your stomach was beginning to churn once again; the suppressants returning with a vengeance after the pain relievers had worn off.
“Fine then! I’ll do it,” you seethed through gritted teeth as you stood up and walked towards the old woman. “I’ll do it.”
Now much closer, you saw Madame Adora smile warmly at you, which made you feel a bit guilty for getting angry. Sighing, you turn your gaze down to the wooden desk, unable to look into her eyes.
“Boys,” the Madame suddenly called in her raspy voice. “Robert is waiting for you in the other room to look at the documents. Your friend will join you shortly.”
At this development, both Wonwoo and Soonyoung glanced at you, asking if it was alright for them to leave you. You smiled at them encouragingly. You’ll be fine. It’s just a tarot reading.
“Please don’t start without me,” you turned to them as they left the room. “I’m looking at you Kwon Soonyoung.”
Your friend simply grinned and gave you a salute. “Aye, aye!”
When the door was finally shut and you were left alone with the old woman, you glanced at her, wondering what was about to happen, or if she was going to do something.
“What’s your name, my dear?” she asked, something you hadn’t expected.
“Uh…I’m Y/N,” you soon replied, fiddling with a stray lock. You tried to deduce what the Madame was thinking, but nothing came to mind. She was eccentric and unpredictable; there was no use trying to predict the next set of events.
“Well then, please take a seat, Y/N,” she offered the armchair beside you which you quickly sat on. “Is this your first time getting a reading?”
“Yes, I…” you tried to evaluate your next words. “I’ve never been to a shop like this before.”
She simply chuckled at you, pulling out a deck of cards from a drawer. “I understand, dear. We readers are few in number, yet believe it or not, just like magical practitioners, it is necessary for us to have proper licenses.”
With the new information, you raised your brows and nodded, wondering why you haven’t known of this field before. As you continue to swim in your thoughts, Madame Adora began waving the smoking sage around the area.
Knowing your curious look, she gave a small smile. “To cleanse the space, my dear. Sometimes we carry residual energy from people, objects or situations. It is necessary to cleanse before we begin the reading, so we can only pick up your own energy.”
Nodding once more, you didn’t really know what she was talking about. You were no magi, and your knowledge of magic was limited to alchemy and potions, which was grounded more into the material world than the metaphysical.
“Alright then. What kind of reading do you wish to do?” She asked and you only gave her a blank look—completely innocent to the kind of readings a reader could perform.
Without you needing to say a word, the Madame nodded in understanding and explained it to you.
“A reading, in its base form, is a medium to provide some clarity. The Universe itself provides the answers. So if there is a question, a situation which you wish to seek clarity on, then we could begin with that.”
Even before the old woman had finished talking, your head was already turning gears and cogwheels. You wanted to ask about the syndicate and the investigative reporting you were doing, yet for some reason, a niggling feeling inside of you was telling you it wasn’t the right question to ask.
So you searched for it, concentrating on the feeling that you knew you could trust. However, at the end,  you were surprised to where it had led you. You didn’t want to ask about it. It was done, it was there. It didn’t matter anymore. But you felt it. It was so strong that it made shivers creep under your skin. You know you needed to hear it.
You sighed. It’s just a tarot reading. No harm done.
“I…uh…” you gazed downwards, finding your wrist wrapped in ribbon to be quite fascinating; deciding for one last time if this was indeed the decision you were making.
“My…uh, soulmate bond.”
You were not sure if she had heard you with how small your voice sounded, but there was no way you would repeat yourself. The way you finally said those words out loud felt like some sort of acceptance; an acknowledgement that a soulmate bond existed between you and that person. Before, it felt like it was simply a figment of your imagination.
To your surprise, the Madame nodded at you, smiling proudly. “Then it shall be. Let us begin.”
You nodded back, watching as she began to expertly shuffle the cards.
“I will be doing a simple spread for you. A first card or cards would explain your energy, and then his energy. Afterwards, your strengths and weaknesses, then the state of this connection. Finally, we will be asking for the future of your soulmate connection.”
Unaware of how specific tarot can be, you only stared at her quite agile hands, not fully understanding everything.
“Please be reminded, dear that energies do change. What is shown here is simply the current energy of the soulmate bond. You and your soulmate still do have the agency to change your future, yet for now, this is what it is.”
You definitely liked the sound of that. If tarot had been in any way fatalistic, you would’ve soured on it in an instant. You always believed that you had some semblance of control over your life, or at least you wanted to.
Quietly, the Madame began drawing out cards, mostly cards which jumped out while she was shuffling. As she began to neatly arrange the cards into a grid-like form, you watched out for any reaction or expression from her. As it turned out, the most you could get was a slight raise of a brow.
When it was all done, she flipped the deck over and placed it beside the spread. Peering overing, you saw that there were a lot of cards, some were upright and the others upside down. You wondered what these all meant.
“Well then, my dear,” she spoke to you, glancing all over the spread and then nodded in understanding. “Let us begin with your energy—Eight of Swords, Queen of Swords reversed and the Hermit reversed.”
“Are those good or bad?” you asked, curious, yet the old woman simply tightened her lips.
“What I could say is that, you may seem to be trapped in your situation right now, whatever your situation may be. Look at this woman in the Eight of Swords,” she replied, holding out the card to you. “ She is blindfolded and surrounded by these swords. She seems to be trapped and imprisoned. It could be your thoughts or what you are telling yourself, as swords symbolizes our mind and how we communicate. You could be suffering from self-doubt.”
Taking in her words, you could feel a lump forming in your chest, knowing that she was indeed right.
“And then we have the Queen of Swords, which is you. When she is upright, she is a force to be reckoned with: intelligent, independent and the speaker of truth, however dear, we have her in reverse, which only shows the shadow side of this energy. The Hermit in reverse is telling me the same thing. My dear, I must apologize, yet this is what I see. As you continue to trap yourself with negative thoughts, you are slowly closing off your heart, becoming coldhearted and bitter, leading you into more loneliness and isolation. Whatever has caused you to become like this was incredibly painful that you have been pushed into fear, creating these defensive walls which then became the swords blindsiding you at this moment.”
You were silent, knowing full well what the old woman was talking about. You wanted to be angry at her for speaking a truth you were trying to avoid all this time, yet there was only sadness in your heart.
“I’m so sorry dear, but this is what the cards say, but please rest assured that your energy could still change. Considering the strengths of this connection, I have high hopes that this soulmate bond will succeed,” Madame Adora consoled you, seeing the deep hurt in your eyes.
“It’s fine,” you replied, swallowing the bile forming in your throat. “Please continue.”
Hesitantly, the Madame moved to the two cards beside the first ones she had read. “For your soulmate’s energy: the Two of Pentacles in reverse and the Hierophant.”
“As for now, your soulmate is in an imbalance. Look at how this person is trying to juggle the two pentacles in the card. He could hardly balance them at all. It could possibly be that your soulmate finds it difficult to manage their career and this connection with you, as this is a pentacles card which usually pertains to finances and the material world. Or, it could possibly be that they cannot find the balance between their traditional values and the constantly changing world with the Hierophant. Their views are definitely being challenged by you and your connection. Nevertheless, they seem to have felt your withdrawal and decided to focus on their career instead, which has now become two burdens on their shoulders.”
Making a downcast look, you felt guilty for making him feel that way. If he had indeed felt your pain through the bond, then he was no better than you. He was hurt too and the thought of you unintentionally inflicting pain on someone was something you were not keen on.
“Now then, let’s  move to the strengths of this connection with the Chariot and Strength cards, which are incredibly powerful cards to have. Even this whole spread is powerful, considering how much Major Arcana you have.”
You leaned your head to the side. “Oh, is…is that so?”
“Yes. The Major Arcana holds more significance than the Minor Arcana, that is why having numerous cards from this suit could mean that this connection could be life changing for the both of you. With that said, having the Chariot and Strength implies that the both of you have a tremendous amount of strength and willpower. You and your soulmate are influential people who will stop at nothing to achieve your goals. That is why, even through all the pain and difficulties this bond will bring, this connection will survive.”
Not knowing what to make of that, you simply nodded. You were unsure if you do want this connection to survive. You hardly know your soulmate and you had no interest in doing so. You had long abandoned the idea that you will find love in a soulmate bond.
“Well now, look here, Y/N. I have been called upon to draw three cards for the weaknesses of this connection. We have the Five of Swords, the Nine of Swords in reverse and the High Priestess in reverse,” she continued, showing you the three cards.
“At this moment, there is conflict and disagreement in this connection. It could possibly be that the both of you have fought and that was the reason for your stagnant energy and his withdrawal, and with the Nine of Swords in reverse, usually this card means your anxieties and fears, and in reverse, it could be a release of those negative energies. However, in this reading, it seems like the both of you are hiding this inner turmoil in your hearts. Look at the image here,” the Madame pointed at the Nine of Swords.
“The woman is crying on her bed at night while these swords loom above her—she is crying alone, only the night is her companion, when everyone else is asleep and oblivious to her pain. In a way, you both are mirroring each other. You try to keep this conflict in your heart, making you feel disenchanted with this connection. You had lost hope of finding this love you seek. They on the other hand, try to bury themselves in their career or material possessions. They want stability and a sense of normalcy, yet cannot find it. The Universe has been providing divine guidance, yet with the High Priestess in reverse, the both of you cannot hear or perceive the signs.”
“This is further clarified with the Hanged Man and the Tower, both in reverse. These two cards represent the state of this connection, which further confirms the stagnation and fear of change in this connection. I felt this in the beginning when I was tapping to your energy, but dear, have you been blocking your soulmate bond?”
For some reason, you could only look at her and speak no words. There was fear in your eyes and guilt in your gut. It felt like you had done something unforgivable. You cast a glare to your arm, unable to utter any words of admittance.
“Dear, may I see your wrist?” Madame Adora asked softly. You were hesitant at first but eventually gave in, pulling the ribbon that was wrapped around your wrist and placed it on the table.
Gently, she examined the dull black bars on your skin as you watched curiously. You would ask what she was doing if she hadn’t begun speaking once again.
“You are in pain, dear. Deep, deep pain you need to heal from. It’s not a fresh wound, but scars inflicted from so long ago yet continuously being pried open over the years. You keep on ignoring, burying these scars, hoping that time would help it heal someday,” she said, her fingers on the marks.
“Yet when this soulmate bond came, it had forced you to face them even if you have no wish to, even if you were not ready to. This bond is making your fears rise to the surface—the fear of heartbreak and of disappointment. Thus, instead of waiting for someone else to do this to you, you decided to nip it in the bud. You try to convince yourself that you wish to be alone, that you are comfortable alone, yet deep inside you, you long for someone to share the heaviness which weighs down your heart.”
Without even realizing, you had furrowed your brows and was glaring at the offending soulmate mark on your skin. There was a feeling deep inside you which refuses to accept the old woman's words. It was too painful to acknowledge the yearning that was deeply-rooted in your heart. It was too embarrassing to say that you had made a mistake.
You were simply protecting yourself. Those scars had long healed itself. You had already cut ties with your father and that was the end of the story. There is nothing more to talk about. There was no need to face any more of this. There is no need to reconcile with your soulmate.
Gritting your teeth, you could sense anger rise deep inside of you.
“But dear let me reassure you that despite everything, you will come together in the end. For the future of this connection, you have the Two of Cups which signifies a union. It is my soulmate card because as you can see, these two people are sharing, exchanging cups—”
—!!
You slammed your fist on the table abruptly, the cards jumping in disarray. Madame Adora looked at you sadly as you snatched your wrist away, holding it close to your chest. Your eyes were burning with rage, yet the old woman knew that that anger was rooted from deep longing and sadness.
“I don’t want it,” you muttered in a low voice, and then, after a short pause, began shouting as if it would relieve the guilt in your chest. “I don’t want it! I don’t want this! Could you please leave me alone!”
Without waiting for a reply, you ran out from the room, from the shop. You were in no capacity to continue the investigation with your friends when you are in this state of instability. You just want to leave and disappear for a while.
Just for a while.
Back inside the room, Madame Adora was greeted by Soonyoung and Wonwoo, who were surprised to know that you had left running out of the shop.
“Ah, did Y/N lose her temper again?” Wonwoo asked as he had heard you shouting earlier. “We must apologize, Madame.”
“No, it is I who wishes for your pardon. I must have hurt your friend,” she replied. “Please give this to her as an apology.”
The two men watched as the Madame pulled out a small box from one of the desk’s drawers and placed it on the table. They wondered what the Madame had said in the reading that made you lose composure.
“We will deliver this to her immediately,” Soonyoung replied as he took the box and dropped it inside his pocket. “And thank you for the documents.”
“It is meant for you. I had been called upon to buy the desk which it was stored in, and when you came to this shop in search for such an item, I knew it was meant for this purpose,” Madame Adora replied, intertwining her fingers together. “But more than that, please watch over Y/N.”
Both Wonwoo and Soonyoung exchanged glances. “W-we will.”
“Simply watch over her and give her support. She is going through something which only she can resolve.”
As the Madame said those words, her gaze was caught by the single card by her side. It was the card at the back of the deck—usually meant to summarize the energy of the whole reading.
It was the Lovers.
It was already dreadfully dark when you had decided to return to your dorm room.
The wisteria trees were already a midnight grey, the unlit path, a dark purple. Only a few streetlamps offered illumination through the pitch-black night as you waded through the campus in silence.
You took your time alone—wandering on random alleyways, sitting on deserted park benches, watching people pass by as they live their own lives, with their own problems. Nothing seemed real during those hours of isolation in the midst of the crowd. It was like the pain was too far away for you to reach; the events from that afternoon too far away to be reality.
Yet you knew you needed to return somehow. Thus, with eyes exhausted from crying tears unshed, and the ribbon you used to conceal your soulmate bond in your hands, you opened the door to your dorm room and saw its gauche splendor in shameless display.
With a sigh, you wrapped the ribbon on your wrist haphazardly, not caring if not seemed sloppy as long as the black bars were far from your sight.
Walking to the common room, you scanned the area for your roommate, wondering if he was asleep or still at his office on a Friday night. It would be better if you didn’t see him, you thought. There would be less explaining to do.
Yet the common room was depressingly empty. It had occurred to you that you never even spent much time in there as much as you would’ve liked. Was it simply because you were avoiding him or you were just not interested in sharing the same space with him, you didn’t know.
As you move past the wooden dining table and towards the kitchenette for a glass of water, you bumped into something fleshy and soft which definitely made you shriek and fall onto the floor in a painful thud.
“Whaton earth?” you muttered, gradually coming down from your sudden adrenaline rush, your sight refocusing.
To your astonishment, you found one Lee Jihoon lying on the floor, obviously drunk by the whisky which was once inside the bottle he was clinging on to for dear life. Apprehensively, you crawled towards him, to check if he was still breathing. Yet before you could touch him, his dark brown eyes were on to you, still cold and jaded as the nights of December.
“Jihoon—“
You were about to reprimand him for bringing in prohibited alcohol inside the dorms and for sleeping on the floor during a cold autumn day, when you realized that his skin was red. Bright red.
Concern immediately shoots up to your brain as you reach out to him.
“Jihoon!” You exclaimed, shaking him to sobriety. “Jihoon! Are you intolerant to alcohol?”
Despite your concern, he could only hum groggily. “It’s…fine.”
“What do you mean ‘it’s fine’? How many bottles have you drunk?!” You asked, looking around and saw several bottles of the same whisky he was holding. “Oh god, you even chose one with high alcohol content! You shouldn’t be drinking this.”
“It’s…fine, Y/N. I only had a few… just a few…”
He simply groaned in reply, lying comfortably on the floor without a care in the world. You only stared at him in exasperation, brushing your hair as you sighed.
You felt an urge to just leave him like that on the floor until dawn breaks. He can take care of himself, and being drunk probably isn’t something new to him. Yet you knew you can’t just do that. Whether or not he was Lee Jihoon, you had the obligation to not leave him to die of alcohol poisoning or of hypothermia.
The last one was a stretch, you admit but still, there was no way you could leave him like that as someone who tries to be compassionate at every point of day. At least, the sofa was a lot better than the cold floor.
Reaching for his arm and placing it around your shoulders, you tried to carry Jihoon to the sofa just a few steps away. Yet you hadn’t anticipated how heavy he actually was as you barely dragged him across the room, huffing and panting. You were not one with the best fitness
“Come on, Jihoon. Hold yourself up!  You’re simply too heavy for me to carry!” You exclaimed as you tried not to stumble on the way.
“Mmn…I’m sorry...I’m trying…” he drawled, his eyes half-lidded and unfocused—obvious indications that he has drunk too much for his own good.
Just a little bit…
Taking that one step remaining, you immediately tossed Jihoon to the soft sofa with a long and exhausted sigh. He only groaned, his hair in a disarray. You had only noticed now that he still had his work clothes on: a grey suit piece sans the tie which he must’ve tossed somewhere in the immediate past.
He had his eyes closed as you sat closely to him, watching his chest rise and fall with every breath. Jihoon seemed to be in peace this way, far from the constant creases in his brow or on his lips. Brushing away a stray lock of hair from his face, you noticed the angles on his face, the fullness of his cheeks, the rosiness of his lips. Was he always this familiar to you? It was a question you had no immediate answers to. Yet you had never anticipated to end your exhausting day with a drunk Lee Jihoon, yet that’s where you are now.
“I should give him some medicine to ease the redness,” you muttered to yourself as you stood up, your mind already listing the ingredients you needed to make one tablet, but before you did, a hand had stopped you in your tracks.
“Please…don’t leave me,” his voice, still lethargic, echoed behind you and you were forced to turn, your eyes captured by his unrelenting gaze.
“Jihoon…” you spoke softly, returning to your seat beside him as you helped him sit up clumsily. “But you’re still flushing.”
“Doesn’t matter…” he replied back, leaning unsteadily until you caught him in your arms. Now he was peacefully resting his head on your shoulder, burying himself into your embrace.
“J-Jihoon…?”
To say that you were wholly surprised was an understatement. You were floundering and unable to make anything out of this situation. This was something incredibly out of character for the Lee Jihoon you thought you knew.
“Y/N…I must….must apologize,” he began, which definitely made you furrow your brows in bewilderment. “I’m so sorry… I—I failed you…”
You stared into the air incredulously, not understanding what page Jihoon was in.
“You didn’t fail me,” you replied back. “You didn’t fail anyone, Jihoon…”
However, it seemed like your words fell into deaf ears as he snuggled up to you, wrapping his arms around you tightly.
“I’m so sorry…Y/N…please…please forgive me…”
Concluding that this was probably one drunk confession, you allowed him to find comfort in your presence, placing a consoling hand on his back as he continued to apologize to you.
This was a side to him you hadn’t expected to see. It was vulnerable, raw and unapologetically real—words you never thought you’d associate with Lee Jihoon. Yet there you were, as you hugged him back, finding solace in his arms as well when there was no one in the world you could share your burdens with.
“It’s okay, Jihoon…” you replied to him as you closed your eyes. “At least you tried, and it’s good enough for me.”
“Yet…yet…why can’t I feel you…?” he cried out, his voice clearly in pain. “Why can’t I reach you…? I…I always…alwaysss wanted to know you…to hold you like this…”
“Jihoon…”
You wished there was something you could say or do, yet you didn’t even know what he was talking about. It felt like the two of you were talking in a circle of riddles; finding yourselves in different pages.
“Y/N…please don’t be angry…please….please….don’t reject me,” he continued on as if in a trance. “I’m so sorry….so sorryyy….”
There was something in his words, or the way his voice shook that had pierced right through you. You wondered what you had done to him to plead to you like this. Yes, you did push him away a few weeks ago, yet that was the farthest you had gone to hurt him. You couldn’t understand what was happening, nevertheless, you still felt called upon to take action.
Moving your hand, you brushed his soft locks gently.
“I won’t reject you, Jihoon. I won’t push you away. I promise you.”
PARLIAMENT PASSES BILL CRACKING DOWN ON CILVEKAN NATIONALS by Jeon Wonwoo
The Porta Persa Edition, October 27th
In a historic vote, the Parliament has passed a bill on harsher travel restrictions for Cilvekan nationals as well as an extensive program which allows for the investigation of all Cilvekans in Porta Persa. This bill marks a tantamount win on Rep. Kang Jinho and his Conservative party—warranting a speculation of a bid on the Prime Minister seat.
This soon-to-be law highlights restrictions set on the amount of Cilvekan nationals leaving and entering Porta Persa wherein local governments can monitor their actions inside the country. It is also in the prerogative of the local government to deny entry to any Cilvekan wishing to enter.  According to Rep. Kang, it is necessary to be able to detect any sort of preemptive strike against Porta Persa to avoid endangering the security of the people.
This bill also boasts a program which, in conjunction with the restrictions, shall implement a vast inspection of all Cilvekan nationals present in the country. They are to undergo a thorough investigation conducted by the police and shall be warranted to arrests if ill-intentions against Porta Persa is proven.
With this bill, according to the Parliament, the government shall be able to ensure that the national security of Porta Persa shall not be threatened by any means, even if it meant sacrificing privacy and material gains. Sacrifice is and always will be inevitable on the road to peace…
In the pitch black darkness of the night, echoes of footfalls resounded across the streets of Porta Persa. There was breaking of glass, breaking of wood, and shouts of women.
Fear was high in the scent of the night. The streets of Porta Pera enshrined by men and women—rounded up in handcuffs and tied by accusations. Half the town was awake and afraid, half the town asleep and aloof.
The night had just began.

"I have feelings - and if I can't express them verbally, I'm not above poltergeisting" THIS IS THE STELLA WE DESERVE AND THE ONE WE COULD (AND SHOULD) HAVE HAD ALL ALONG
Okay so I hate this show but I am literally BEGGING someone to gif the "*snap* I have an opinion" moment and let me download it to use for everything because it's so important to me. Genuinely guys please can someone give me that gif idk how to make it myself and it's literally the entirity of this blog summed up in a single moment
Dowling's face when Bloom said "Asterdel" LMAO this woman did NOT need this today
PLEASE give us backstory Fara
Fara, Rosalind and Greenhouse man have THAT MUCH POWER?? Shit, man
"Why would she do that" because Rosalind is a shady👏bitch👏
"I will help you get the answers you need. I give you my word" she seemed to mean that so... Dowling's gonna die
Beatrix is NOT okay and clearly has 0 independent thought who the FUCK raised her to be like this
Why is Bloom happy to see Stella y'all haven't had a SINGLE positive interaction for the entire show
This writer has never had an actual friend in his life and I know this because THIS IS WHAT HE THINKS FRIENDSHIP IS
Yep send the kids out to defend Alfea. Good planning, lads
Once again, super unnatural dialogue. Dowling doesn't need to describe what she's doing it would have been obvious from... the sounds of the forest getting amplified
So Aisha's snitching. After they deliberately wrote the line with her saying 'no, she isn't Dowling's pet, she was in fact actively spying for Bloom because that's how much she cares about her'. Because he is literally INCAPABLE of writing the black woman as a consistant character, oh no, instead she just becomes whatever he decides he wants for that scene. And the worst part is - you had a character that would have snitched! Terra! Terra could have easily told her dad who would then tell the rest of them, all without breaking her predefined character. But no, of course Aisha should be the one to break because CLEARLY he doesn't value her character at all
Lmao you're using Dane to spring the trap?
LMAO STELLA'S USING BEATRIX YES STELLA
"See? My ideas rock" THIS is accurate Stella rep, lads
That was clearly supposed to be a callback to Terra saying she missed Stella insulting her but it just felt super weird and forced. Who the FUCK let this man write
How do you know it's that door there's a whole other tunnel??
Also I swear when Beatrix came down here it was just like... a stairwell into a room? What happened????
Cave walls straight to brick, of course
Hello Roz you sneaky motherfucker
HATE the mind talking but here we are
[One episode left. Thank GOD it's almost over]

Chapter 17 - Kinda Makes You Think
Chapter 16
Tumblr media
The next round was after going to be after lunch.
Y/N took her lunch and sat next to Kyoka along with the other girls.
"You finally broke your silence huh?"
"Not in a way you think though. He...he thought I had plans up my sleeve because I was trying to be Shinsou's friend. Like so what? Just because I can't make friends easily doesn't mean I can't try, right?" Y/N said.
"So you guys are still fighting?" Momo asked.
"When are we not?" Y/N asked, "Wait, how do you know about this?"
"It's kind of obvious Y/N. You guys are arguing all the time so I think all of us noticed it when you started avoiding him." Ochaco said.
"So.." Y/N started tensing up, "E-everyone in our class knows?"
"Well I don't know about the boys but we do. Locker room talks you know?" Mina Ashido informed. "Besides, it was fun to watch you know."
"I'm glad that you find our fights entertaining." Y/N smiled, sarcastically.
"But to be very honest, you are not the type who will go around making friends out of the blue and that too with someone who just insulted our whole class." Momo said.
"I guess..you are right. He was misinformed about us all so I just wanted to make sure he doesn't hold a grudge against us. So I decided to just go out of my way and.." Y/N sighed, "Kinda douchey of me to do that. He knew about it right away."
"Yeah no shit." Kyoka chuckled, "But the thing is...you don't try to be friends with a rude person just because you can benefit out of it. I mean you could've faked it with Bakugou if you wanted because he is powerful and you know he's gonna attract attention of agencies. You don't fake it when it comes to friendship. Didn't think you won't know that."
"Woah...thanks I guess." Y/N said, "But I think I'll come clean with Shinsou. It's gonna bug me if I don't and I can't afford any kind of distractions."
She looked around the cafeteria for a glimpse of that boy. He was sitting with his friends of general studies and having his lunch quietly. According to Ojiro, he had a weird quirk because he didn't remember doing anything about the cavalry battle. "My ego is drowning for fuck's sake. Why the heck do I make such mistakes and then feel embarrassed about it later." Y/N thought and sighed in frustration and covered her face with her hands.
"Hey, don't sweat it. If needed, I'll go together with you." Kyoka said elbowing her friend.
"For what? Laugh at my face when I blush out of embarassment?"
"For emotional support but that too." She laughed. "By the way, the media has already gone feral about your family background. And the good news is that most people have a positive reaction. It's good publicity. Although, I feel like now you're gonna be approached by more fangirls and some will want to be your friend just because Haruto is your brother. And the media will be just be on your ass to capture any kind of gossip they can get out of you."
"Yeah I know. But to be honest I can sense when someone is being dishonest with me." Y/N said.
"Okay forget about that. Tell me how did it feel to have Bakugou's ass on your shoulder?" Kyoka asked.
Y/N groaned and then smiled, "I knew you're gonna bring it up. Do the others know about my..thing for him as well?"
"No. They just think you had a fight." Kyoka said, "But be honest, it felt good to work with him right?"
"I felt like a loser." Y/N furrowed her brows, "No one was taking me in because everyone had a team decided. And he decided to put salt on my wounds by saying some shit to me. But...he was confident about winning. So I guess, in a way, he trusted me as well?"
"Bakugou is bad when it comes to emotions, you should know that by now." Kyoka said.
"I don't know. I feel like he is being especially harsh to me these days." Y/N said, trying her best not to look sad. But you know, when your heart feels heavy, sometimes it's just hard to keep emotions in check. Finishing her lunch, she got up along with the other girls as they finished having theirs.
"Or maybe, you're more sensitive these days because you have a crush on him." Kyoka said looking at her, "Just come to me when you feel like venting."
As the girls were going to keep their plates, Mineta and Kaminari called them.
"Uh huh, do you need something?" Momo asked.
"Well, I'm sure you already know since you're the class vice rep, but they said that all the girls have to wear uniforms for the cheer battle this afternoon." Mineta said pointing out some girls wearing the cheerleading outfits.
"That's odd. This is the first time I'm hearing about this." Momo said.
"You don't have to believe me if you wanna get in trouble. But this is coming straight from Aizawa. I thought maybe you'd forgotten so I figured that I remind you just in case." He replied.
Y/N looked suspiciously looked at him and then turned to Kyoka with a blush and surprisingly she had a blush as well. "Are you kidding me? I don't even wear mini skirts man. I don't trust him at all." Y/N whispered.
"Forget about mini, I don't even wear skirts!" Kyoka replied.
"Don't worry girls, I can use my quirk to make it according to your sizes." Momo said, "We should go now. We have very little time on our hands."
"But Y/N, on the brighter side, Bakugou will see you in that outfit." Kyoka smirked.
She blushed and slapped her arm playfully, "He didn't even give a shit about Midnight's outfit. What makes you think he'll bat an eye about me? He has his goals and literally doesn't care about any girl right now."
"Except you." Kyoka said, "Y/N believe it or not, but Bakugou actually notices you more than any other girl in our academy. I mean, he doesn't even care enough to know about our names when we are his classmates. While he...actually cares enough to notice when and how you were talking to Shinsou. I mean, I don't know about you but that's something different. No one in our class thinks so much and cares enough to come to the conclusion about you having any kind of plans with him. But...he did huh? Kinda makes you think."
".....stop." Y/N said, "Stop before I start liking him more than I already do."
Tumblr media
Y/N never felt so uncomfortable in her whole life. The media was already going mad over her family background and now she was going to go in the arena wearing a cheerleading outfit? She didn't want to think about this much.
Trying to pull her skirt down and keep it down as much as possible, Y/N's face turned red when she realized that her classmates indeed tricked the girls into thinking it was true. She glared at Kaminari and Mineta from the distance and then turned to the crowd who were cheering. Yes, maybe it was just her overthinking, but she felt like all the cameras were now only concentrating on her - judging every little detail about her figure starting from her freckles to the stretch marks.
"Looks like class 1-A is going for fanservice!" Present Mic announced.
"Oh for god's sake-"
"We do have a little amount of time before the next round and I kinda like these uniforms so-" Toru started dancing and waving her pom-pom, "How about we just rule with it!"
Even though she was shy about wearing it, she did want to see the reaction of a certain blond. But looking around, he was nowhere in the arena.
And he only arrived when the announcement of the third round took place where students were going to fight one-on-one with each other. Some students backed out because they felt it went against their conscience when they barely did anything. The names were announced and Y/N was up against the girl she earlier thought was delicate - Shiozaki.
"I don't even know anything about her quirk." Y/N sighed, tensing up. Not knowing about someone's quirk was a bit of a challenge for her. She wasn't so spontaneous like Bakugou to be "Well I guess Midoriya feels the way I do." Y/N said, looking at Shinsou. No one in their class had any idea about what that guy's quirk was. "Oh, and that reminds me-"
She walked towards him and called out, "Hey." And her tone wasn't enthusiastic like before which Shinsou was quick to notice. Well, she was going to apologize sincerely so joking about it won't do any good. "Uh...I have something to say."
A guy from his class commented, "Hey lucky guy, she has something to confess Shinou. Don't keep a girl waiting."
She ignored his comments and continued looking at Shinsou, hoping he would listen to her for once.
"Okay."
They walked away from the crowd and into an empty space. "I am still not telling you my quirk."
"I don't want to know. But I have to apologize. I guess...I did try to benefit from the friendship I was offering and I'm sorry. But I meant everything I said. I really did, I mean....you can ofcourse refuse to trust me but I swear I'm telling the truth now."
Shinsou stared at the girl in front of him. It was the first time someone was apologizing to him genuinely and didn't actually expect anything in return. He felt a bit happy. Yes, mentally he has been cursing a lot of people for making things hard for him but he didn't expect someone – especially from a class he threatened – to be so warm.
"And I understand if you-" she looked down at her feet, covering her bare legs with the pom-pom, "- if you don't want to see my face anymore."
"No." Shinsou replied within a second, which made Y/N look up at him. Even he himself didn't expect to say this out of reflex but a part of him knew why. For the first time, he didn't want to give up a person who made him feel happy and warm. "Uh- I mean, it's okay. Thank you...for being honest."
"So...am I forgiven?" She asked, "You'll watch anime with me?"
"Yes, for the first one." He said, looking at the crowd on his left and trying his best to not make it awkward.
"Well, atleast give me your number!"
"Wow, how bold of you."
"You know I don't mean it like that."
"I know." He said looking at the blond guy he had his first fight with, "I noticed it in the first day."
"What-"
"I didn't even have to use my quirk for this. It was so obvious."
"Wait what? H-how do you know? What is your quirk?" Y/N asked but she only received silence as a response. "Um, it's fine if you..don't want to say it. I understand. Oh, they've announced the mini games. I think I'm gonna go rest for a while. Best of luck. Just give me your number after the festival." She was going to turn around and leave when suddenly something strange happened. She spun around and jumped like a cheerleader. It felt like she wasn't in control for a moment and wasn't able to move by herself. But the next moment she was hugging herself and she was in control again.
Y/N looked at Shinsou standing in front of her with a smirk.
"Amazing." she gasped, "That's your quirk? You can help the heroes in making the villains confess about their deeds in a second! That's so cool!" She heard a ring of a bell for a game coming to an end, "Oh shit, I have to go now! I need some time to myself, you know, to calm down and all. Good luck! Bye!"
Shinsou stood in the same position for a few minutes. He chuckled looking at the girl running away. It was the first time someone appreciated his quirk instead of thinking it was something evil and villainy, and that too when she saw it for the first time. Inspite of the little dance he made her do.
The grudge he had went down just a little bit. She was just a bit more tolerable than others.
On the other hand, a little far away from them, the pair of red eyes which were at first fixed on finding his opponent was now on the girl he previously teamed up with. He was trying not to feel angry about it after he said 'okay' to her but he was pissed anyway. Why was she even talking to someone Deku was going to fight with? What's with the privacy?
"And what's with that stupid outfit?" He thought. Unknowingly it was for quite a long time that he was staring as his eyes observed the outfit that she wore.
Atleast he thought he was observing.
"Dude you gotta chill." He heard Kirishima's voice, but still didn't move his eyes from her.
"I'm honestly confused about whether you're glaring at her or just checking her out." His friend said which finally made Bakugou snap his head towards his direction.
"Fuck off." He grumbled.
Yes, just fucking observing her.
