Hello Mr. Dapper! Love this blog and your many reimaginings of classic dnd deities and creatures. I was curious about something: Considering your dislike of purely evil gods and DnDs future focusing on the guy, what are your thoughts on Vecna?
Deity: Vecna, the Whispered One
My task of overhauling d&d’s villanous pantheon was started by a simple critique: that if god was evil, there still needed to be a reason for people to worship it. To go with one example, So many of the death gods in d&d want to kill everything that lives, yet they’re still presented as having legions of followers who are happy to die for them in opposition to the party. You can say “Oh they’re just brainwashed, crazy cultists” but that’s just bad writing and thematically empty, neither of which I want for the sort of games I run.
Vecna is actually an interesting case study in that he’s an outwardly wicked deity that has a theme which people would actively want to follow: As a god of secrets, Vecna is the patron of any who will sacrifice anything to learn the answer to their problems, or conversely, the ones desperate to ensure their own secrets will never be known. The story of Vecna as a mortal mage who attained first lichdom, then godhood is an aspirational one for all those power mad occultists out there, a common enough demographic in the d&d world both as villains and as player characters.
Cults of Vecna worshippers likewise make sense as the whole point behind the historical practice of mystery cults was that those at the upper levels maintained their power through control of information and access to secret learnings. You want to learn how to do magic? To speak to the dead? To protect your secrets from being known? Put on this ominous robe, learn the secret handshake, and don’t forget to drop your tithe intto the altar’s collection skull. Think of it like a forbidden knowledge based MLM.
Here’s some adventure hooks:
While many of the whispered one’s acolytes dedicate themselves to discovering to the delving of arcane mysteries, others focus their attention on more worldly secrets. A powerful noblewoman is being blackmailed by a worshipper of Vecna not only for personal enrichment but also as an act of devotion, after he uncovered proof of indiscretions that would ruin her reputation. While she’s too afraid to go for help herself and risk exposure, a devoted servant has seen her hidden suffering and has contacted the party for aid.
Barely disguising its fiendish nature, a devil in service to Vecna approaches the party with an offer to reveal the secret intents or weaknesses of their enemies, if only they will deign to meet its terrible price. While this information could do great good, or even save lives, just how low are the heroes willing to stoop?
Seeking out the aid of a powerful mage, the party discover the old man on the brink of nervous collapse, having looked to deeply into the void and filled his mind with visions best left unmentioned. Haunted by nightmares both real and imagined, he needs their help in quieting his mind through the gathering of rare ingredients and the distillation of a potent elixir. The process is not without risk however, are the party willing to help if it means erasing the information they need from his head, to say nothing of potentially lobotomizing the poor wizard?

Magnolia Road is Moving + Exciting Projects!
Hi there - Rizu here! It's been about a year since I last posted an update here. Life got really busy and pulled me away from Petz. As life calmed down I had the itch to return to some unfinished petz projects! Here's a look at some of the things I've been working on. The major one being the launch of my new home - Magnolia Road on Neocities! Keep reading for more details!
When I first launched this tumblr blog, I wanted a platform that didn't require a whole lot of set-up to get started. While it has served its usefulness as my first home in the Petz community, I need more room for the amount of content that I'm planning on making.
So I've been quietly working on a complete website overhaul and it's been such a blast. I think it will serve me better as a home for my crew and petz content. For the foreseeable future I am planning on keeping this tumblr for long-form write-ups on Petz things.
Without further ado, check it out here.
Not everything on the website is finished but I've put the 'good enough' stamp on it for now. I'm looking forward to fleshing out the pages more with some exciting content.
On that note...
Projects!
Something that I've wanted to do for a while is to create more custom content for Petz 5. Though Petz 4 is the community favorite, I feel Petz 5 has a lot of nostalgic charm and a lot of potential for quality of life upgrades. Despite Petz 5's glitches and bugs, I've by and large have learned to live around them without too much trouble and largely prefer some aspects of Petz 5 over Petz 4, such as the expanded color palette for playscenes, weather, day/night cycles, being able to carry all the toyz with you, etc.
With the new content that I am working on, I hope to inspire some more love for Petz 5 and make it a more welcoming home for your Petz!
So what am I working on? I've been working on a MASSIVE rework of the Petz 5 playscenes. They are quite dated and an eye-store in some instances.
So here's a sneak peek of what I've got going so far. These are not finished yet so these may change a bit!
I'm going for a Luxury Living theme based off of neutral beiges, greys, and gold, with a touch of rococo. I've painstakingly fixed the window sprites (they're a pixelized mess in the original), replaced the garden backdrop with my renovated back yard (see below), and gave the night scene some gentle spot lighting. No more ugly orange floor and yellow fridge.
Continuing on the Luxury Living theme, the family room gets an upgrade.
This one definitely needs more work before it is done but here's my Cozy Cabin themed room.
I've always disliked the original snow scene in that all the trees look like lifeless lumpy snow blobs. I wanted to bring back some greenery and make the scene look more vibrant. I replaced the really bland skyboxes with more realistic skies, with the night scene featuring an aurora borealis.
Inspired by my love for Lilly Pulitzer prints, this beach remodel is a more colorful upgrade over the original. I've recolored the sand to look more like....sand and less like this weird ugly yellow sand the original had. I'm planning to make a daytime one as well.
Salon upgrade. This one is very incomplete, so expect this one to change a bit. The original dresser is so hideous that it's hard to make it look "better".
And finally, perhaps my pièce de résistance and my most time consuming overhaul was the backyard. The original looks so junky with its broken fence, muted colors, and lack of landscaping. It definitely needed some more life to it. I hope I achieved that with my 4 seasons remake of the back yard. To say it was a challenge is an understatement. I had to make 3 versions for EACH season. Day, night, and stormy versions. So 12 BMPs along with the edited leaf sprites. The fall leaves are not stills - they are recolors of the original animated sprites and move in the actual playscene! I was excited to be able to pull this one off and I'm happy with how it turned out.
And lastly I've reworked the Petz 5 carrying case skin with a template that makes it easy to come up with new carrying case skins quickly.
Here's just one of the many carrying case skins that I have planned. This one matches the pattern featured in the beach remodel.
And there you have it! These are all works in progress and I can't wait to share more updates with you all. As always, thank you for stopping by!

IT'S ALL DONE!!!! I've been working on this for a bit now . . . and I know that there's still one more day of 2023, but I made my blog an overhaul of new graphics! I'm so excited! They look so good and I was so happy with them I just couldn't wait any longer before I started using them. I needed something to help me feel better about my skills and this has helped a lot. New theme background, dash header, pinned post graphics, banners and page break. We are also gonna be taking a break from icons for a bit. I can't catch up and would rather devote my time to more detailed things like this and bigger edit projects I just don't have time for anymore. Anywho . . . I'm rambling. But I'm ready for the New Year! I'm trying to be at least!

After I posted those outfit pics with my kippah last year I’ve had a slow trickle of new followers from the Jewish spheres of Tumblr, and while some of those folks are pretty cool, I did have to block a couple of Uber-zionists who didn’t seem to get the message from me reblogging posts supporting an end to the oppressive treatment of Palestinians in I/P (the genocide, yes, but IMO there needs to be a huge cultural overhaul in general if Israelis are going to stay in that area long-term. I have seen sufficient evidence to convince me that too much of Israeli society views Palestinians as less-than-human threats instead of fellow human beings, and that is not acceptable.)
Which, you know, whatever, but I got a couple messages from (presumably) some of those people on anonymous, each saying some variation on the theme of ‘I was willing to overlook your shameful association with anti-Zionist causes, you should be willing to ‘overlook’ my good and noble support for Our Great and Infallible Homeland.’
Specifically something in one of the messages kinda stuck out to me: one of them said, “We all have to make nice with people we don’t agree with sometimes. We have more in common than we don’t.”
These are both ostensibly true statements. It is true that in my work as a retail employee I am forced to be kind to people who I would otherwise walk away from, or tolerate poor treatment where I would otherwise stand up for myself. And it is likely to be true that, on paper, I have more in common with the average queer Jewish tumblr user than the average schmoe walking around in my neighborhood. But here’s the thing:
This isn’t real life, and I don’t owe you anything.
A random person on the internet, with whom I have never interacted and to whom I have no obligation, is not part of my life. There’s no social fallout from choosing not to be associated with blocking someone whose blog I visited and then the first post on their page was effectively condemning people who feel sympathy for Palestinian civilians because ‘none of them are innocent.’ Or someone who makes a post talking about how anti-Zionist Jews are JINOs and come from stock that should have been eliminated during the Shoah (A REAL OPINION I have actually being spouted IN EARNEST on the internet!) To be honest, I am lucky to have already gone through the process of learning and deciding on an anti-Zionist stance years before current events; I didn’t speak about it much online because it was not relevant to my personal spheres, but I had all the conversations I needed to have with people in meatspace about how Israel is not all the propaganda cracks it up to be. I am lucky that I didn’t have to make that decision in the fraught cultural situation we find ourselves in as Jews right now. But hey, guess what, I still ultimately believe that any reasonable, empathetic person should think that the buck should have stopped at the first mass civilian casualty operation! And if you are a Jew who didn’t rethink your stance at that juncture, what the fuck is going to be your wake-up call?
Whatever shades of grey there may be to this conflict — and, personally, I don’t think there is really that much wiggle-room to it in the first place — if you can’t, at the absolute least, recognize that there is a horrific injustice being done to uncountable numbers of innocent people in Gaza and the West Bank, we have nothing important in common, and we have nothing to talk about. And because this is not real life, I can just press a button, and then we never have to have the displeasure of each other’s ‘company’ again.
#Wayne said ‘Are you writing a get-the-fuck-off-my-blog post?’#Empathy for the Palestinian civilians who are being slaughtered en masse is such a pathetically low bar#if you can’t meet it#get the fuck off of my blog

Me thinks it's time to overhaul this blog, but I have no time at all (work! is bad!) so it shall be in various states of disrepair for a good, long while lol.
Things I know I'm going to add:
BtVS Wishverse Verse - Very excited for this, because unless it's set post-series (which some of it undoubtably will be), Faith won't have been called as the Slayer and that should be incredibly interesting.
Horrorworld ( a Westworld-adjacent verse) - where you might encounter Faith, or the Horrorworld 'host' version. Not sure how to do this, yet, and the concept is still a WIP.
Bounty Hunter verse - which is a retooling of my main verse where Faith's either living as a hunter or bounty hunter, where her skills can be put to good use.
There'll be more changes, like a reworking of my rules and possibly a new theme. I need to assess the threads I've got, because my drafts are insane and I am bad at organizing lol. Time constraints obviously will make some of this more difficult, but I shall try!

To the few people that follow this blog or care about RS— I've hit a wall. Maybe I'm going through one of those swings where I just don't like the work I'm making, and that's okay. But I really am not pleased with Static. I think it's because I wanted to do a oneshot book type thing, but I ultimately work best under a set timeline and events. The more mistakes I see in that, the more I want to overhaul the entirety of RS and just take the time to rethink it and really write what I want to write. I simply put too much pressure on myself to get chapters out as quickly as possible while still being what I deem acceptable. And I don't want to work like that. That is not fun. That's what it's supposed to be, that's how RS started and what it thrives on.
In conclusion. I have deduced that I need to step back from this as a whole. I'm not taking a hiatus, trust me, I'll still be thinking about this series every day probably, but updates are definitely stopping until I feel okay with what I already have out. Static especially I'm going to rework. Nothing drastically, it's still gonna be the same beats and themes, but just reorganized in a way I feel has more meaning. Radio Silence itself may get the same treatment, but not as thorough, as I think its pretty neat as is.
I understand it's a dumb indulgent fic on ao3, no one is expecting anything from me. I wanted to post this only to concretely phrase things so I actually do it and let anyone who cares know what's up

// Hello again! As you might recall, I've been meaning to make a new blog for Cayin's Elden Ring verse in hopes of better exploring its themes and aesthetics without diluting those of Cayin's main verse.
I wanted to take this soft "reset" as a chance to overhaul the presentation, make a blog that looks thematic, something that drives home some of the topics covered with just a look. Alas! As excited as I was to implement all these ideas, I've been struggling with motivation and focus for long enough to realize that I can't match my old expectations.
I've also come to the conclusion that if I wait until I'm satisfied with the blog (until it feels "complete" if you will) and continue to let my writing grow rusty and miss opportunities to write with my friends, I might very well never return to the hobby in this form.
With that in mind, I've decided to launch the new blog as a WIP. It's not going to be as fancy as I wanted, but I'm not waiting any longer to write! This isn't a decision I've made lightly as I'm very reluctant to make my work public when it's in an early state. I hate it!
But having made a lot of progress enjoying other creative outlets of mine, and having been unable to be a consistent writer for a little longer than... two years?? I think that taking the plunge is my best chance of solving this.
Now, this might feel a little strange to say so explicitly, but I want to make the following as clear as I can:
If you like Cayin but aren't interested in his Elden Ring version, there's no need to follow the blog. I understand the setting's not for everyone and you're free to enjoy this blog (yeleltaan) without engaging with the other one.
Likewise, if you like Elden Ring and are interested in the ER verse, but don't feel that interest towards Cayin's main verse, it's also perfectly fair to follow the new blog and not follow this one.
For newcomers: I understand that a blog lacking a proper about page and other information isn't easy to get into. It's in the works and I hope to be able to make the blog more welcoming for everyone sooner than later. Until then, feel free to message me for a short introduction to the character, I'll be happy to give it.
It's going to be a slow process, and I'm not sure how effective this change of attitude will be, but I still think this is the best move I can take. I'll be linking the blog shortly!
#ooc#long post I know but you know me :y#it's been like this for so long I just want to change it#I don't have the most energy or focus but I do have a lot of perspective I didn't before#here's hoping that will tip the scales#also: while I fully intend to welcome new interactions#it's going to be easier for me to start with a few people who have gone out of their way to continue to plot and discuss ideas#even all this time in which I've had trouble being proactive#really... I owe it to them tbh. But even if I didn't it just comes more naturally to me to write in those circumstances#that being said just as I've been so low activity I know others have struggled with this too#some period of silence isn't going to suddenly make me not care about what we had been doing up to that point#anyways! I hope you're all doing alright#if not then may that change soon :]

OKAY I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback so I’ll be making this into a general art blog!
A couple of notes:
I’m still going to be posting Inscryption/DMG stuff. That’s not stopping. I have several WIPs both in regards to art AND writing and many more ideas. Plus I just love talking about the games in general. At any point in time you can send me an ask about any of Mullins’s games/my headcanons for them and I will answer it. No part of that is changing.
Tags will remain the same: art, sketches, shitposts, writing, textposts, and asks will all still be sorted accordingly. I’ll probably create new tags if/when I post OC stuff here, but other than that everything’s staying pretty standard
Username will remain the same, I like Hrokkall
Intro post/description will be updated accordingly (might take a couple days, might not) but the blog’s theming probably won’t—maybe a little bit on mobile, but I’m pretty fond of the theme on desktop so I don’t see a real need to overhaul it
Any new art will be tagged with the series name in addition to the usual art tags; if you only came here for Inscryption stuff there’s still going to be a Lot of that but feel free to just ignore anything else
This is a sideblog but it’s still a pretty social blog, I like reblogging other people’s art/posts + answering asks/doing ask games and that’s not stopping.
If you JUST want to see art without any of my commentary, I’ve set up @hrokkall-png for all of that. There’s nothing there right now, but I’ve queued all of my current art/sketches to post over there if that’s more your speed. Nothing new will be posted there, it’s just an easy-access archive 👍
That’s pretty much it. Honestly not much is going to change, just there will be other stuff in addition to Inscryption in the future :]
#Stoat Speak#Blog management#I know I said it already but it bears repeating:#Thank you for all of the kind words by the way. I really enjoy drawing and I’m glad people are alright with seeing more of it#—even if it’s not DMG-related#That seriously means a lot

I think what I need to do is change my blog's theme, change up my carrd, just overhaul how things look/layouts/etc. Then perhaps make a new promo post?
Been thinking about my F/Os and who are mains, who are not. Or which ones are still mains, but I'm just less focused on at the moment because hoyoverse games have me in a death grip.
I gotta stop feeling so OVERWHELMED!! I've been wanting to do this since LAST YEAR!! i am going to kick my own ass

Hi! This is a sideblog for updates on the story I typically tag on my main blog as #adira. This story, in fact, is a series which I love very much. My main is @catkin-morgs
The first book (title chosen but redacted bc I don't want it to be too easy to find my under my author name lol) deals most with Adira's struggle in finding faith. Here's a summary of characters and themes and things.
Main themes:
Truth, what it is, how to find it etc
Integrity, staying true to what you believe in no matter the cost
Trust, who to trust especially as connected with the whole matter of truth
Stillness, characters struggle to be calm and still and await God's prompting and they are working on learning that
Important characters:
Adira. The protagonist. Lively, happy and tumultuous, with an unshakeable determination to find truth in whatever form it takes. I need to write a better character sketch of her.
Emily. Side/prominent background character. Complicated relationship with Adira, as she's adopted by Adira's parents but they aren't particularly close (they were as children) nor do they consider one another family. In previous drafts they were far closer, but it doesn't fit so much with how it's seeming at present.
Tom. Side/co-main character. Introduced during the first book and quickly becomes a beloved friend. Struggles with an illness (?) that has caused him to miss a year of school entirely and forces him to rely to some extent on Adira to help him with his classes as she is a whiz at his worst subject, history. Whether illness or injury or what, Tom ends up with a permanent disability that is walking-related.
Dorothy. Adira's mother. She may or may not be an important character in the first book depending on how much of her POV exists - she has some very important stuff that happens which sets up foreshadowing for later books, but worldbuilding may make it little enough that it's not worth including. Hence, she may be important or she may be merely background.
Neil. I don't even know what he's doing during most of this draft. He is introduced during the story and is important in one section - hence I may introduce him quite late or even find a way to work around needing him and introduce him between books.
Mr Saunders. Helps Adira with her doubts and has a complicated, unknown history with her mother. Neither will elaborate, but there's a lot of emotion between them.
Tom's family. They're important to help with the overall sense of community I want to build in this book, but I don't know how well that will translate or how long I'll spend on them.
Current progress: I've written so far three separate first drafts of the first book, one in 2018 (111k, abandoned), one in 2020 (52k, somewhat scattered), and one in 2021 (93k, not entirely coherent). I'm currently overhauling it (including rereading my 2020/2021 drafts which I may draw directly from) and plan to begin rewrites once I've completely re-outlined it and kept the bits I plan to keep. I'll likely at least somewhat outline the next few books as well, at the same time. I also need to do extensive research to ensure I portray Tom correctly, apart from anything else.
Book summary:
This is our world, but in the future, so to speak: a world which, once wracked by war, has settled into peace, with one Ruler, one hierarchy and one religion. The internet is a legend, a distant memory read of in books and wondered about. Everything in this world seems good. But there are dark things underway, and a system that will stop at nothing to preserve the status quo. Despite its seeming stability, pressure in the wrong ways could bring it down, and those who benefit from it are determined to make sure that is not the case. It is a system built on lies… what will they do to prevent the truth, once discovered, from getting out? And what, in any case, is truth? Adira has been confident she knows, all her life: but when another point of view comes into her life, it throws everything she thought she knew into disarray. She must discover the truth of the world before the uncertainty tears her apart, when friends and family are pulling her in both directions.
#adira#furnace of hope#pinned#catkin sideblog#writeblr#writers of tumblr#request an excerpt about/with any character and I'll either write one or find one from one of my drafts :D

Let's Talk About: Power Rangers and Listicles
A lot of "geek" and comic book-centric sites like to feature Power Rangers because of nostalgia. It's a topic that gets easy clicks. And they're not hard to produce, especially for websites that heavily feature list-icles. They're easy to read.
And they're also easy to fact check.
That's why I get irrationally angry whenever I come across a Power Ranger list-icle that could've been great with just a quick glance through Wikipedia or the fandom-run Power Rangers Wiki.
Yes, I'm talking about Comic Book Resource's "10 Ways Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury Breaks Tradition."
I get that we want sensationalism. I get that we need bold titles that get people curious. But once you start writing the actual content... How about giving facts instead of hastily-gleaned and just-as-hastily rewritten information?
Like, "It's a Netflix Limited Series" is correct. Why the need to add "Almost every other season of the show has had at least twenty episodes and aired on television. The only other limited series in the franchise's history is Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers in 1996?"
Mighty Morphin' Alien Rangers also aired on television. It is a limited series, but it's not the same as the upcoming Netflix season. Why the need to single it out? Because of the term "Netflix Limited Series?" Then why not just qualify Cosmic Fury as the only series to run solely on a streaming service?
Also, as a Power Ranger fan, I take offense with "Keeping the show to just ten episodes ensures that the show will be able to tell one cohesive story" part of this article. The number of episodes was never the problem with the show's cohesiveness. The RPM season had a massive overhaul midway through the season and it still felt cohesive. The all the Dino Charge and Dino Fury seasons were uneven, yes, but they were still cohesive. And let's not forget how long the older seasons were--and those were cohesive.
If anything, what made most of the recent seasons disappointing were the uninspired transposing of clearly Japanese themes to a US-centric story (Samurai), and the fear of treading more serious matters and continuity (Ninja Steel). When Power Rangers is unafraid, the show slaps hard. Even with fart jokes.
And then we go to this:
Power Rangers have done this before. Aside from the name-checked Power Rangers RPM, the second and third season of the franchise is famous (within fandom) for the amount of original footage they worked in because they didn't want to change the costumes when they ran out of Sentai footage.
Mighty Morphin' Season 2 used the zords of Gosei Sentai Dairanger. The only costume they ported in was Kiba Ranger's, who then became the White Ranger. All the Ranger morphs were original to the series. And then Season 3 had them using most of Ninja Sentai Kakuranger--before eventually realizing they had to give up the original costumes to sell more toys. Which led to the afore-mentioned limited series Mighty Morphin' Alien Rangers, and then Power Rangers Zeo.
Now let's get to:
Now, I wouldn't have had an issue with this part had they cut out the second paragraph completely. Yeah, sure, In Space! ended an era. The Zordon era. But we've had a power upgrade since then. An infamous one at that because of how badly it was done. Yeah, I'm talking about Power Rangers Super Megaforce.
And, lastly:
Why would you say the season is breaking tradition by having a female Red Ranger...and then immediately going "Only two other seasons have featured female Red Rangers...?" I don't even have to dispute the claim. It's already there. Why couldn't they have claimed "A Female Ranger gets promoted to Red" instead?
Now, what do I get from griping about this?
Absolutely nothing.
But a guy's gotta vent. And rather than spout vitriol online at someone who was just doing a job assigned to them, I'm gonna do it here. On my blog. Where people can choose to read it, skip and ignore it, or engage with it.
And now I feel a little bit better.

I know I've been a bit slow and hadn't done anything with this for more than a few years... but the blog is overdue for a major overhaul.
However, as I am rather wary about big changes without making sure it doesn't break what is already there... I have a few qualifications for what I consider suitable for the revamp.
It has to be functional and legible as much as looks nice.
For example, it was a big thing awhile back to use these teeny tiny, overly ornate themes that looked pretty, but were completely and utterly useless when it came to finding anything.
The theme can't have fancy icons for the ask, submit, and other stuff, it's got to be easily seen and be found with little more than a touch.
It also needs to be properly scalable across a wide range of displays and resolutions, so it can not only look good, but also be functional whether they are using a phone or a desktop with a giant screen.
Side pages probably would work better in a form of a grid, but I'm still debating if that works best.
Although the main reason why I've been avoiding all this is due to a fear that the themes might break entirely if I wasn't careful.
The blog isn't just there to look pretty, but it's also a hub to help visitors find all the precious information you have... so it's why I've been particularly cautious about it.

San Angel Inn's Queso Fundido Recipe: A Delicious Mexican Dish
It’s no secret… San Angel Inn is my favorite place to eat on property. The ambiance, the atmosphere, and the food are among the best in Epcot and Walt Disney World. Plus, with a slow-moving, relaxing ride that never has any line about 30 feet away? There really is nothing better in this whole world than filling up at San Angel then rolling over to the “Gran Fiesta Tour” to take it easy. San Angel Inn has gone through a lot of changes over the years, including an extensive menu overhaul in the mid-to-late 2000’s. While most of the signature dishes made the cut into the new menu (Pollo A Las Rajas and Sopa Azteca), there were a few that were retired or made seasonally available to help bring the restaurant to a more fine dining experience. One of these dishes was the queso fundido. The collective mourning that San Angel Inn fans went into at the loss of this popular dish was undeniable. Pop through forums and blogs at the time it was announced it was retired and it’s not hard to find people begging for how to make this hearty guilty pleasure. I’m happy to say that the folks at San Angel Inn have always been happy to oblige on any recipe when they could, so despite retiring the dish at San Angel Inn, they were happy to share how to make the dip at home. And I wonder if the demand for this dish and the response of people when they saw it was no longer on the menu played a role in queso fundido finding a new home in the neighboring restaurant, La Hacienda de San Angel? I will say, of all the establishments I’ve gotten and reproduced recipes for, the folks at San Angel Inn are in a league of their own when it comes to listening to their customers. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they brought back this popular dish to their sister restaurant to appease the queso fundido addicts of the world (like myself). When people read this recipe, they’ll be over-the-moon at how ridiculously simple this is to make an appetizer this delicious. For those who’re making it in the style of San Angel Inn, all you need is two ingredients: cheese and chorizo sausage. For those who’re making the updated sister version as featured at La Hacienda de San Angel, you need to add a third ingredient… A dash of poblano pepper. Really, it couldn’t be easier. Cook, broil and serve with your favorite chips or flour tortillas. Keep in mind, this isn’t a dip where you stick your chip in and scoop out the cheese. Think of this as a warm spread, not a traditional dip. You’ll need a spoon to scoop it out and spread it on your delivery food of choice. Now, I think it goes without saying that an appetizer that’s made up of cheese and sausage is not a low calorie, low fat, diet friendly food. And I can’t stress enough, if you don’t really blot the fat out of the chorizo, you’ll end up with a lot of fat rising to the top during the broiling process. Really drain the sausage, then blot it with paper towels. Blot it, blot it, and blot it again. Then blot it again once more, for good measure. If you broil it and there is still a lot of visible fat, just let it cool slightly and blot it gently with a paper towel. I’m still dreaming about how delicious this dish is… And I just made it about 12 hours ago. I am in love with everything about this dish and it makes me so homesick for a riverside table in the shadow of a pyramid. Sigh… San Angel… In addition to the delicious food and recipes, Disney World is also known for its unique dining experiences, such as character dining and themed restaurants. Whether you want to have breakfast with Mickey Mouse, dine in a replica of a sci-fi drive-in theater at Hollywood Studios, or enjoy a meal with an ocean view at the Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot, there's something for everyone. And with the help of Recipes Today and the How to Make category, you can even recreate some of these magical dining experiences in your own home.
