last song: Come Hang Out by AJR off the top of my head by my tabs say Providence by Poor Mans Poison . Come Hang Out feels so nostalgic to me even if i only listened to it recently reminds me of a graduation song (it came out 5 yrs ago so it makes sense. I just really love Poor Mans Poison's vibes generally great fuel for daydream and also matches well with the feeling of revolution (and seeing everything collapse i guess.) (ish) mentally listening to Your Love is All I Need by Sami Yusuf tho at all times lately, probs because i have been trying to wean myself off listening to music for like the 50th time. (its slow going but IM GONNA TRY inshaallah ill be able to do it) (he also took the old nasheed music video off his channel? sad its so good)

currently watching: does d20 mentopolis count? only watched one ep but its good. i havent watched anything regularly besides like school vids for a bit. tried watching the dragon prince s5 when it came out but buffering (the video player i mean) and dissatisfaction at the pacing and characterization kinda stopped me. ill back on it at the end of the yr when everything is settled. if we are talking about podcasts started relistening to wolf 359 and keeping up with the greater gatsby (the latter has SUBLIME noir vibes as it is a noir i bloody love shipwreck's work it scratches that itch in my brain so well) . i may have seen spoilers for wolf 359 so i am anxiously waiting to see if i am proved wrong but im on s4 so its soon prepare for a barrage of reblogs for it. watched s4 of malory towers it was very nice i cant wait for s5 - the pantomime hopefully we get new members for the older years next season i miss the larger cast

currently reading: not much really. fanfic alot. i guess. caught up to the end of the To Make a Legend series on ao3 (pjo) and other fics for a couple of other fandoms (in one false move by Kalidium is really good if your into murder most unladylike - spoilers for A Spoonful of Murder though) also been reading barbie 2023 fanfic? was bored and started hunting for good ones (slim picking at the moments but if you want character study and grief and some bloody good writing def read something in me in you by telm_393 i cant explain it its that good) also reread My Memories Came Back in the Form of Someone Else by Lucy_Luna yes its that really good spiderverse fanfic do check it out

BESIDES THAT THO in terms of actual books. have the audiobook saved for The Valley and The Flood so gonna listen to that later. Have to read The Hate Race for class (not my fave but i need for analysis ive read it like 3 times but I STILL DONT REMEMBER ANYTHING) .

started rereading The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snakes a couple of weeks ago ahead of the movie coming out at the end of this year but never got the chance to finish it so ill have to get on that too.

also dracula ive been reading as well but more on that the next section.

current obsession: re:dracula is the first that comes to mind im so bloody invested in jonathan's wellbeing and his relationship wiht mina and the whole story its insane . i should read more older books its good . re;dracula DOES SUCH A GOOD JOB AT SUCKING YOU INTO THE STORY THE VOICE ACTORS REALLY MADE IT FOR ME i just cant with ti it makes me so bloody happy!! Renfield's voice actor is a standout for me everytime he's there i just have to pause and stare at a wall. also jonathan's actor as well hes SO GOOD i was geniunly worried about jonathan not sending me voicemails into my phone i was THAT endeared to him

besides that PLAY IT BY EAR the musical improv show by dropout is also a obsession of mine i cannot with their talent. the MUSIC so good i want to play it all the bloody time . i am in absolute awe in the performers ability to create a story and TIE IT ALL TOGHETER SO WELL like every piece of information is used whether you expect it or not . DN THE BAND OH GOD I DONT KNOW HOW THEY SO IT THE MUSIC IS SO FUN AND CREATIVE AND FITS THE MOOD AND MADE UP ON THE SPOT???!!! started off so so so good (so so so so so so good) but then it turned to suckkkkk . brocks writing just hasnt been great since s3 w a few good eps here and there but just turned to major suck when you see him w the ventures . guild operative and osi operative romance got too much screentime . still dislike 21 and i think him being the monarch's "best friend" just makes them boring . could have done smth irt him being alone w his wife gone and w a henchman he doesnt care for (<- the sudden jump of him loving 21 in s5 was so annoying) or smth . i feel the blue morpho could still work w that that would be fun a dedicated henchman working w a boss who will do whatever to rise to the top even if the boss doesnt like him . speaking of . total drop in the whole BM thing and kind of made it stupid to have him kill villains to rise the ranks but then they just have him do random ass jobs and hes level 10? kind of makes his whole speech in PfT in 6 abt GCI levels kind of stupid . the loss of focus on the ventures in general just does not appeal to me i like the monarchs and conjectech but im not watching the show for them . also did i mention how much brock sucks . should have been more focus in hank and dean esp of theyre gonna have deans speech in the finale (rly good actually did make me sniffle)

irt def more things to explore ik you are a gayboy . would have been interesting to see him come to terms w being a superscience experiment by bonding w jared bc i feel like jared would have some talk abt it not being so bad and bring up the positives (did like sirena's comment on the clone thing though) . rly funny he mentions jared in his speech but you never see them interact s7. his whole character has been a mess since s4 though (actually all the ventures have been but whatever) . this was a characterization that pissed me off though similar to his daddy in s4 for me . i like him missing hank and wanting to go back to being just them and him missing the compound . could have been really good if they actually focused on the family aspect of the show...!!! really wish they fucking did but they ruined my family...!!! that fucking osi dog...!!!

Yk I've been thinking about this and while yeah theyve both gone through much growth together, I think that in terms of their co-dependency they genuinely just got worse.

My original post was worded to be more funny but what i was trying to get across was how Sam, still so young, possibly still with hope of going back to college, threw down everything for 6 whole months to try and bring Dean back. Like he genuinely became quite unstable trying to fix it. And even looking further than s3. In s4 Sam tried to trade places in hell with Dean to save him. Thats insane??? He literally begged a demon to send him to hell just so Dean could be alive and safe. And then ofc s5 when Sam actually did go to hell to save his brother, well, his brother and the world, but mostly his brother. Because what helped him gain back control from the Literal Devil inside of him? It was the fact that Dean was getting hurt.

And then after getting his hell memories back. What kept Sam sane? Making Dean his number 1 rock. And lets go even earlier when Sam was in his hell induced coma after Cas broke his wall. The fact that he was even able to stand, let alone walk all that way to Dean. And he was able to do it simply with the will power and the need to try and save Dean. Because whats the point of going on if you dont have Dean?

S8. Sam literally asked for forgivness from God to forgive him of his evil, treacherous sin of....letting Dean down. Sam genuinely believed that the way to make himself pure would be to repent for letting Dean down. And if that doesnt show how unhealthily attached there are....

And then, they had the opportunity to rid the earth of all demons, and what did they do? Left it as it is. Because Dean basically said that he can't live without Sam, and Sam didnt want to let him down again. He left all the pain of the trials behind simply because Dean didnt want to live without him.

Fast forward to s12. Sam didnt really care about his general well being with the bmol because well, Dean was dead. And whats the point of going on when theres no more Dean? (There aint no me if there aint no you)

And i know we joke about it, but even in that prison cell, they both killed themselves just so they could be with each other again. Like they actually made a deal with a reaper to get out of this prison so they could see each other again and accepted the terms that one of them would have to die?? And they both wanted to go so that they wouldnt have to live without their brother

And in s14, the only thing stopping Dean from getting in that box was Sam. Dean even said so himself! Dean didnt go through with the only thing that could stop Micheal because Sam didn't want Dean to give up and leave him...so he didn't.

Granted, i havent actually properly watched spn in a while, so i might be missing some details, but Sam and Dean have been through so much together, that its just become genuinely impossible for them to live without the other. I was just talking about Sam here but theyve both shown the extreme lengths they would go to to basically make sure that they dont have to keep going without their brother (soulmate)

So no, i genuinely do not understand how sam was even able to walk out of that barn, let alone move on and start a family. After growing up in such awful conditions, being dependent on each other since Sam could walk, their situations only getting worse after they reunited...for lack of a better word, theyre literally addicted to each other. Its not normal.

So after saving the Whole World, and finally getting their lives back, I dont see how Sam could let go that easily. Because theyve lost a lot of people in their lives, but they were always okay as long as they had each other. They were living together in the bunker and were perfectly content like that! They were probably even allowing themselves to think that they could grow old like this. So, i highly doubt that Sam didnt even at least try to bring his big brother back. No way he'd find it okay for Dean, after everything, to leave him like that.

And yes, i get it, theres no more chuck writing their story so hes not going to get a big fancy main character ending, rather a normal hunter ending, but still

At this point, the ideal scenario is if Mike and Will are already together before the events of season 5 start. Then we get flashbacks showing how they first opened up to each other, and snippets of their secret nerd romance. If they’re STILL hiding their true feelings next season (the last damn season), then I don’t give a shit. It’ll just be “Andi Mack” all over again, with straight non-endgame couples getting most of the screen time. We deserve to SEE a happy gay couple for more than 1 scene.

i actually disagree. i wouldnt like it opening up with them already an established couple even if they do go back and explain how they got together and how mlvn broke up. it would completely rationalize everyones “this came outta nowhere” stance on byler. they need to fully show the mlvn break up as well. it would make no sense to skip over that even if they reveal it later.

also it would be so anticlimactic if it just starts out with them already together. whats the fun in that!! i wanna see their journey mostly mikes because we havent gotten in his head since like s1, maybe s2. i wanna see their first kiss and wanna watch them build up to that! i wanna see mike slowly becoming more honest with himself and his feelings and finally accepting who he is and honestly im okay if that takes almost an entire season but i’d prefer if at the latest, they kiss on the second to last episode, not the very last. but i’d like a lot if it was more like jancy where it happens mid season (but with a concrete mlvn break up first unlike stancy). and then i think we’ll definitely get an epilogue for every character and that would include them being happy together too.

i just dont want it to literally be the last like 20 minutes of the show, especially considering that would barely leave any time to show them coming out to everyone. i would have loved if they got together at the end of s4 and all of s5 they were together.

Bucks been through a lot of physical shit but he never had any emotional trauma. There was times like the red episode, the Daniel storyline, and Buck telling Eddie he wishes it was him that got shot that hint that Buck might be dealing with some deeper mental issues, but then these issues always end up being completely solved by one pep talk from Eddie or Maddie at the end of the episode and are never mentioned again

boy oh boy, this sure is one of the opinions ever! let us go through all the reasons why i disagree, shall we?

first off, i want to preface this by saying that im extremely behind on the show. like, the last season i fully watched was season 3. the only episodes from season 4 that ive seen are s4e4 and s4e5 (ive been a buck girl since 2018, idk what to tell ya) and then ive also seen a few gifs from s4e14. plus, i havent seen any full episodes in a long ass time. so when i mention specific events that happened in the show, i could either be totally misremembering or just straight up not know what happened. okay? okay! (im also putting this under a read more bc it got a bit long thumbsup)

so first off, i dont. fully agree with him going through "a lot of physical shit". there could be instances that happened in s4 or s5 that im just not aware of yet, but as far as i know, the only instances of physical trauma came from him getting his leg crushed in s2e18. personally, i lump in his broken leg, pulmonary embolism, and the severe cut he got during the tsunami episodes as kind of one instance since they all happened due to one incident, but youre more than free to separate them if youd like. even then, thats not a whole lot ? i mean, it is quite a bit for a regular person to go through, but for a tv show character in a show thats lasted for 5+ seasons, it doesnt Feel like a lot. if there are any other instances where hes gotten hurt that im missing, totally feel free to let me know, but thats all im aware of

"he never had any emotional trauma." okay. well first off, dont you think that serious physical injuries would lead to a lot of emotional trauma? especially something like, oh, i dont know, getting your entire leg crushed underneath a firetruck? i feel like that would have some lasting effects on a person. second off, you just. proceeded to list off things that definitely indicate Something? im not quite sure what "the red episode" is, but the daniel storyline is definitely going to fuck with him for a while, plus seeing one of your closest friends get shot, is. well thats gonna stick with you. theres also no indication that hes not still dealing with the aftermath of those instances. just because we're not actively seeing him say "this thing happened to me, and it was bad and still sticks with me" doesnt mean that those things didnt happen and werent bad and werent still effecting him. theres also no indication that after speaking with maddie and eddie, that he was magically cured or that their "pep talks" fixed everything. im not sure about the specifics about the one with eddie, but i know that with maddie, talking with her most definitely didnt fix anything. if anything, it just. helped him a bit. it didnt magically fix him, it didnt make everything all better. all it did was help him with understanding that hes not broken or unloved and that shes always there for him. just because they havent been explicitly brought up since they happened, doesnt mean theyre not still effecting buck to this day. from my understanding, season 5 has been more focused on maddie (+ chimney as well i think) and eddie, so it makes sense that they havent expanded on those specific events yet. the 911 writers dont strike me as the type of tv writers to just. forget character development theyve done. im sure theyll bring everything that they need to bring up, when they need to. 911 is a show about patience - us as the audience always have to wait to see what happens, and how they get brought back up.

What's your approach to the elements of creation and their relationship with the golden weapons and Lloyd's element(s)? (When I use them, i make them magnifiers instead of the source of the elemental power. I'm just curious bc Ninjago made it very confusing and retconned it in s4 only to retcon that in s5, so... there are questions that i have about them.)

Fire, earth, lightning, and ice are the most powerful of the 21 elements. They are all that's necessary for the most rudimentary creations (a ferris wheel, a imperfect creation of a living breathing pirate). The First Spinjitzu Master was able to create anything, as he had all elements. Slowly, he became parts of the realm he created. His powers split into 21 elements for 21 different people, as well as a few other element-manipulating abilities (such as destruction). But the four elements of creation, being stronger than the rest, were able to be split apart even more. There was more of it to go around. The First Spinjitzu Master wanted anyone to be able to create if they needed to, so he made four weapons of an incredibly powerful material, "gold". There was one for each element of creation. Anyone who attacks with them can use the element stored within the weapon. [spoilers for people who havent watched Ninjago seasons 1-2 lol] Since Lloyd is descended from God (oops I mean the FSM), they are able to hold multiple elemental powers within them. Much like how Garmadon can hold all golden weapons at once, but Samukai cannot (fun fact: in life, Samukai was actually a Djinn, but Djinn are still not as powerful as the FSM. Few things are.). The Ninja give up their elemental powers to give Lloyd a better chance at defeating their father, temporarily. This combination of powers is called "Golden Power" in the original. Lloyd also has their own elemental power, called energy, which they underutilize at first, but learn its true power in time. Thats my lore, but I may be stupid lol [did i miss anything?]

Morgana 👀

ok so i know you left this ask ages ago and this is like so fucking long i am so sorry.

but i just... i have a lot of thoughts on morgana. *hides pages of notes made for two big morgana-centric WIPs*

First impression: this is what went through my mind in my first watch through

s1: i fell for morgana really quickly. i was like. YES she has MAGIC and she tells off uther and arthur. 

s2: i still liked her but i getting concerned about the direction the writers were pulling her character in season 2. i was quite disappointed in the way her turn to evil was written. like she was good then barely on screen and very damsel-in-distressy for some reason. and then she became evil!morgana with zero explanation and zero reluctance. didnt really make sense to me.

s3: i enjoyed her as a villain in, but at that point she was a completely different character in my eyes. not in the old character new instalment but in a entirely different person was put inside her. 

s4: she was so boring and one dimetional. just. meh. she barely felt like a threat.. 

s5: i wasnt even paying attention to her.  she has become the random conflict generator the writers rather than a character. so i just didnt care. also i skipped a few eps in my first go so. like dark tower bc i didnt want to see gwen hurt. so i missed out on the emotional impact of that.

Impression now: after rewatching i can see her character arc a lot better. i still think her arc wasnt well done. but thats because the execution was lacking, rather than the trajectory of her character not making sense. because it actually makes a lot of sense.

like in season 1, she is basically immune. she is caught aiding mordred and yet she can get away with uther yelling at her and have it all be forgotten with an apology. meanwhile tom is executed for being seen with a sorcerer. when she wants to kill uther, i dont think she thinks she will be caught. nobody would ever dare accuse morgana and arthur would never suspect it. 

then she discovers she has magic herself and all of that immunity is gone. and without that safety net she becomes willing to endanger so many people, including the allies of magic in camelot. you know, people she would be screaming at the defence of previously.  

her in 1x10 is a small glimpse of what she could have been. a force for good. someone willing to actually fight against what uther and rulers like him were doing. and i would have loved to see that. 

but thats not what the writers chose. instead she regains her footing in hatred and blaming everyone for the fear she felt of death and disgust she felt of herself once she became one of those she defended but saw as beneath her none the less. 

and i will never not be salty about how they skipped over her turning evil and how flat she became. like. let me have a deeply evil terrifying witch damn it! 

i think what makes her terrifying is that she doesnt want power. not really. she wants revenge. she wants to take everything arthur cares about. she wants the throne because arthur doesn't get to have it. she wants camelot to kill its people. she doesnt care about power beyond how much pain she can cause with it. and thats so terrifying. enemy with no goal but to cause you pain. and knows all your weaknesses and can fool the people you have wronged to think she is fighting for their salvation. how do you even fight that? 

idk i just think it was underutilised. again she was just a conflict generator the writers used until the final battle. even then mordred was more significant than morgana. 

Favorite moment: just her in the entirety of beginning of the end. if i had to pick one moment it would be her goading arthur to look behind the curtain. its just so good.

Idea for a story: again... the WIPs. but one i havent written yet.

i had one au where arthur found out about her magic on accident and like. it kicked off a whole plot of her learning magic, and arthur finally facing how terrible uther is and getting his shit together. its not a very detailed idea. morgause would probably use this opportunity to manipulate arhtur. agravain would proably be not evil, tho still a spineless slimy noble. idk.

Unpopular opinion: this is not going to be a surprise to people who know me, but i dislike pretty much all of the discussion ive seen about 2x03. 

fandom seems to be stuck on this dichotomy of either merlin should have told her about his magic and by not doing so he betrayed her— he did not. merlin tried to help her at the risk of his own life. go watch 2x03 again. or merlin reacted perfectly— also he did not. even while helping her, he still refused to acknowledge her magic.

in a situation where something invisible about you can get you killed, subtle word choices matter. merlins words, him continuing to say he wouldn't know if it was magic, even though they both knew it was and that the other also knew, means something. it means i will keep your secret but i cannot help you. this is by no means a moral failing of merlin. he made this choice out of fear for his own life, and i think it is unreasonable to expect him to react perfectly.

morgana in turn had no reason to go to merlin again about her magic. he has made it clear he doest want to be involved, which he has no responsibility to. and why would merlin be able to help her? he, as far as she knows, has no personal experience with magic except his sorcerer friend. 

besides, druids were the safest place for a her to be. it was the safest place for any warlock to be, including merlin.  her knowing or not knowing about merlin has nothing to do with it. like. everything that happens in camelot between merlin and morgana in season 2 is perfectly understandable. they didnt wrong each other. 

what merlin and morgana actually did wrong is getting all those druids killed because they didnt think the plan through. like all of those people in that camp died. aglain, the person helping morgana, died right in front of her and mordred. the druids were the only ones wronged in that situation. which i have never seen pointed out. 

Favorite relationship: her and mordred

Favorite headcanon: oracle!morgana. this is like a whole big headcanon thats basically the origin story of how draognlords came to be. something happened and oracles stole dragons wills and their births to give to mortals as punishment. and then a group of these people came to albion and became the Seers and the dragonlords. who have like different traditions to the druid seers and the priestesses who use methods adapted from scry methods.

I can cut the wtrock sobbe fanatics @ little slack. Prior to this season, yasmina was very understated; wtfock did nothing to build anticipation for Yasmina. Essentially, Yasmina enters the s5 as a blank canvas, while the sobbe nation were still reeling from the loose ends of their season. Sobbe fans didnt get anything in s4 so they're expecting a delivery this season, meanwhile zoenne fans are calm bc they've been blessed in wtfockland. Hopefully by ep3 the interest will be focused on yasmina

Yeah no I dont think the focus is ever gonna be fully on yasmina sorry to disagree anon I wished I believed but I was here for 10 weeks of sana season where half the tag was evak so really I just need to stop looking in the tag and stop pretending it's ever gonna change I think

I will agree with you that wtfock both a) has been the worst at building the sana as a character in the previous seasons b) has basically dropped everything they built cause younes is not the love interest they kind of developed for her in the previous seasons and c) as many people have already said better than me, have not allowed us any time to just be with yasmina in the first episode it feels just like plot clip plot clip plot clip with no breathing room (which I guess some people dont mind about wtfock but personally i dont enjoy at all I prefer less and longer clips over what they do 100%)

And I will also agree that wtfock has done the worst with their post s3 evak material (I guess except in wtfockdown but I hated what they did with them in wtfockdown both the virtual sex storyline and the idk post trauma I guess storyline just were a big no for me when I watched wtfockdown maybe if I watched again without the anger I was still feeling about s3 at that point i would like it more but i havent rewatched so idk) and i wished they had done more in s4 cause It was a great opportunity to mostly have the evak as a background established couple in s5 and it also would've made more sense to just do it in the season after theirs (like they did with zoenne)

5. go on a six hour road trip with (no car radio, you choose who drives), sit next to on a six hour plane flight, sit across from on a six hour train journey

I’d be down to go on a six hour road trip with willa (skam dc), her vibes are always so good and she’s such a sweet person and she has a lot to say so we would be able to have great conversations but also she’d be willing to let me nap in the corner and sing really badly (there’s no radio so that’ll make it even better /hj)

I’d sit with esther (skam brighton) on a six hour plane flight bc her level headedness would calm me down on the flight. we would have a great conversation for a few hours bc she’s got a lot of knowledge abt the world and i would be fascinated but once i fell asleep + i know she would wake me up when the snack cart came by so automatic respect

I’d sit across from reina (skam sf) on a six hour train ride bc i feel like she would be v chill and down to just listen to music or read but would also make great conversation and be willing to walk with me to get snacks or watch my stuff if i went to the bathroom. like immediate trust and i would think abt her for ages afterwards

6. go clothes shopping with, go to ikea with, go grocery shopping with

I’d go clothes shopping with maya (skam sf) bc since she dressed up as electra heart for halloween she obviously has iconic taste and v good judgement. she would be supportive and patient w me bc i suck at shopping but she would also be honest which would be great. we’d go out after and get food and i would live for it

I’d go to ikea with elias (skam boston) and/or avery t (skam la). I trust their judgement bc they’re good, sweet solid characters and i also feel like they would be able to help me pick something practical out bc they’re reasonable and level headed. also they would be able to do the lifting for me god bless <3 /lh

I’d go grocery shopping with jasper (skam dc) bc the situation would be absolutely chaotic and we would leave with nothing we went in for but seven bags of chocolate chips and some waffles and he would race shopping cars with me down the aisles bc he’s a king (no i havent forgotten the waffles clip skam dc s3 supremacy <3)

9. watch a soap opera with, go to a play with, watch your favourite movie with

I’d watch a soap opera with graciela (skam boston) bc she’s a babe and i trust her opinions and like we would hate the other’s favorite characters but cheer with them if they got a win. genuinely i would love to hang out with graciela in any setting the vibes would be so lovely she reminds me of a friend of mine <3

I’d go to a play with so many of these characters, there’s too many theatre kids to choose from T-T however if i had to pick one I’d say milo (skam brighton) bc it came to mind first bc of that clip from s5 (one of my absolute faves too) (both the clip and the character <3). the sheer vibrant energy of that clip honestly made me so emotional i wish i could experience something like that

I’d watch my favorite movie with rori (skam brighton) bc again i feel like she would get it you know, like she’d think my favorite parts were great and would probably cry with me at the sad parts and afterwards i could talk about it with her and not feel bad abt gushing over it. plus if it was a musical i feel like she would definitely get up and sing with me which is 10/10

10. netflix and chill with, go ice-skating with, play dodgeball against

I’d netflix and chill (platonically) with ila (skam co) bc she absolutely feels like the friend you could just sprawl out on your bed with and binge watch a season of something with in a day. the vibes would be great and i would let her doodle on my stuff while we sat there and she could also drive me to panera for snacks <3 (i cant go to panera without thinking abt them now)

I’d love to go ice skating with ruby (skam dc) bc once again she immediately came to mind bc of the clips from s4. also bc she’s a skater girl i feel like she’d be good at it + she would teach me how to not suck and be the perfect mix of lightly teasing and supportive and she wouldn’t make fun of me for going really slowly

I’d want to play dodgeball against katie (skam nt) bc i feel like she would get super competitive but isn’t an ass abt it like still keeps it fun once you lose and u have a ball just going buckwild together which, as a person who generally hates gym, once you find that one person who will make u actually try u are never gonna let them go
