Extra thoughts on Daisuke x Suzue (Anime and Novel)
I was prompted to write this when a friend asked me several prodding questions on Daizue’s relationship and feminism several days ago. Obviously my friend knew where to hit the right nerve LOL
So I thought about it and I’d like to share my thoughts. I don’t know whether my DaiSuzu followers are still hanging around, but if you see this, then this is for you. This post is very opinionated of course so you may not agree with what I have to say.
I took the initiative to go back and watch some of the FKBU episodes, and then top it off with the novel. As I mentioned in numerous older posts, the novel is the original and was written sometime in the 1970s. If you can read Japanese, I strongly recommend you grab a copy and read it for yourself. It goes into a lot more depth with regards to Daizue’s relationship and there is a lot more development between the two.
Novel and anime are different yet there are similarities. What I am going to write here is purely about DaiSuzu and because there are only minute differences in their interactions in both novel and anime, I will combine the two elements together. But before I do that, I want to talk a little about Suzue.
Suzue
I absolutely love Suzue’s character - in almost every single aspect. She is strong, clever, independent and defies all odds. Her personality and interests are definitely more pronounced in the anime in terms of strength and defying the odds. She does the hard yard - a mechanic, an engineer, a creator, a pilot, a spy, an intelligence operator - she is a one stop shop and she is not just a pretty face. Then we have her novel counterpart, who shares similar traits that concerns intelligence and independence. She does intelligence and spy work for Daisuke as well, and the only thing that was absent would be her ‘mechanics and gadget development role.’ Given that the book was written in the 70s by a misogynistic piece of shit, I am surprised the author gave Suzue that level of prominence.
When I saw the promotional materials and then the second episode of FKBU, I was so excited! Finally, a strong female character who has all the ‘male dominated’ traits! I was looking forward to what the anime had to offer her, considering the creators were talking about giving Suzue an ‘important’ role in the anime.  And throughout the series, her character in that sense did not disappointment. She did a lot of work for Daisuke and she was the backbone of everything. She even had to rescue him at times. What an incredible woman.
In comparison, novel Suzue, although a prominent, intelligent character, still had some level of submissiveness to her that screamed ‘I need a man to save me and do things for me’ kind of way. Unsurprising of course being written by an old fashioned man in the 70s. So the anime in a sense was a breath of fresh air.
Then we see the lack of screen time. Although Suzue was just a supporting character, she was quite prominent in the novel. The anime went through all this trouble to create such an incredibly strong female character, but gave her such little screen time. Disappointment doesn’t even begin to describe it. I’m just frustrated that it is always the bloody male characters that gets a lot of screen time. I don’t give two fucks about your need for a fanservice or to appease fujos, we need more female characters who are strong, clever, independent, does not need a man to save her, is not overly sexualised and gets plenty of screen time. If it’s not one, it’s another. Can’t they just bloody do it all together? Also, have three main characters, Daisuke, Suzue and Haru ffs.
Feminism & Anime
If you trawl through my blog, there are a lot of posts about women, feminism, misogyny, toxic fandoms and a lot of het ships. Although I do absolutely love my M/M and F/F ships, there is a reason for my interest in anime het ships. I am a social worker who specialises in working with victim/survivors of family/domestic violence and sexual assault (DVSA), and complex trauma. Considering the majority of perpetrators are men, and the majority of victim/survivors are women, it is important to emphasise the need for a healthy and respectful relationship. I enjoy bringing my feminist perspective to film and fiction because they are an extension of society. Film and fiction (including anime and manga) are based on societal perceptions, and characters are still, unfortunately, heavily gendered.
The anime fandom consists of real people and if you look all over social media, people talk about the characters all the time and their thoughts on them. It comes from somewhere. So when I watch anime, and when I see a male and female character get together in a manner that is healthy and respectful, they get a standing ovation from me. In particular, is when a male character treats his female partner in a way that empowers her or if he abstains from using his male entitlement to demean her. Because in society, there is still a large proportion of men who continues to abuse women in every way possible. If fans are constantly viewing content (yes, even ‘cartoons’) where women are objectified and disrespected comparatively to men, that rigid stereotype is reinforced and ingrained.
I just want to add a note here that the LGBTQIA+ community do experience DVSA as well and this post does not disregard or invalidate them in any way. The focus of this discussion however, pertains to men, who make up the majority of perpetrators and, women, who are the majority of victim/survivors.
Daisuke and Suzue
I answered an ask sometime ago about why I ship DaiSuzu and although that has not changed, I have given a lot more thought to the reasoning behind it. The one thing I dislike about Suzue is her obsession with Daisuke, both in the novel and anime. It does take away her cool, independent like character, and submit her to the idea that she is nothing without first appeasing a man (Daisuke in this case). I don’t want to put too much dislike into her character in the anime, because we never got to see what her history was like with Daisuke. In the novel, I do see elements as to why she can be a bit obsessive, and that was most likely to do with her being ‘adopted’ and given a second chance. It was her way of showing appreciation. Yet she does have romantic feelings for Daisuke, so in essence, her character was emphasised as a typical lovestruck woman 😒
Again, she was incredibly loyal and forgiving towards Daisuke in the anime, despite his shitty attitude towards her at times. You’re probably wondering, after all that I wrote about feminism, why I would still ship DaiSuzu? In the anime, that comes down to Daisuke’s trauma. It added an extra layer of complexity. Daisuke’s standoffish, cold behaviour towards Suzue was not out of a sense of male entitlement and disrespect towards Suzue being a woman, rather, it was a manifestation of his trauma. Of course, it does not excuse his behaviour, but this is the reason why I really enjoyed watching their relationship. There was a lot of mutual trust going on (which I wrote about), covert appreciation of Suzue’s skills and abilities and Daisuke’s own way of making amends with her.
In the novel, however, Daisuke does not have a history of any traumatic experiences. His personality was a lot more animated and though he does exhibit some weird behaviour towards Suzue, he does not do it out of male privilege or misogyny. He was just dense (and an idiot).
Regardless, DaiSuzu’s relationship isn’t just as simple as black and white. There are elements of feminism that intertwines the anime and what I love a lot about Daisuke was that he never put Suzue down, felt intimidated, or tried to make her feel inadequate for being more clever and more intelligent than him. He relied on her knowledge, her skills and her expertise to guide him through his missions, because not only did he trust her with his life, he believed in her skills. He quietly allowed her to do her job without questioning her abilities or intervening.
I won’t discuss how shit the anime was and how much they shat on Suzue’s character by making her Daisuke’s relative, but like I said, I was pretty impressed with the way they turned Suzue into a strong character, and Daisuke’s perception of Suzue as a woman.
And yes, Daisuke doesn’t deserve Queen Suzue. And if you were again to ask me about Daisuke’s true feelings for Suzue? I am pretty damn certain that he loves her to death - in both novel AND anime.

Daisuzu short fic💕
Tired of not knowing about Suzue's true feelings, Daisuke plots a way to make Suzue fall for him. It doesn't go as planned.
Suzue had proven to be the most loyal person to Daisuke, someone he could really trust with everything, including his life. Aside from helping him to solve the mess regarding the Kambe family, the girl had saved his life on countless occasions already, sometimes even putting her own life and safety at risk just for him.
Daisuke never considered himself to be someone that believed in romance. He never had a girlfriend during his years at University, his 'love' life revolved around one night stands with several girls he met during his night outs at clubs. However, Suzue made him feel things he never felt before. Having someone that cared that much for him made him feel better than any sex-filled night ever could. It took him some time, but after being away from her for a while due to her vacations Daisuke finally accepted that he had fallen in love with her.
Weird thing love was. Sometimes he felt happy just by seeing her or having her close, but there were also times when he felt annoyed over the smallest things. An example of this was whenever Suzue seemed distant.
Aside from that time when Suzue pulled him under the covers to hide from HEUSC, she was annoyingly 'distant' with him. The two had known for years and yet she continued to call him Daisuke-sama, she continued to act as just an employee when he never treated her like that... or at least not on purpose.
That thought drove him crazy, Suzue was always very polite, very sweet, very caring of him. He loved it, but at the same time made it difficult for him to distinguish her feelings towards him. He knew she cared a lot for him, but did she loved him? Kato thought they were a married couple when Daisuke first introduced him to Suzue. That should mean something, right?
There were times when Suzue was so clingy with him, mostly when he came back from dangerous missions, but there were times when he felt how she kept him at arm's length. He sometimes hated himself for seeming a teenager who had a crush, but everything felt so confusing when it came to Suzue. Then again, he never allowed himself to get this attached to someone before.
Daisuke was deeply lost in his thoughts when a knock on the door of his room followed by a very familiar voice brought him down to Earth.
"Come in."
As the door opened he was able to see the girl that was currently the cause of the mess inside his head and heart. Suzue was dressed in her usual clothes and wore that sweet yet worried expression on her face.
"Daisuke-sama, do you feel all right? You've been in your room since breakfast was over." Suzue said while she approached him.
Daisuke was sitting on a chair close to an open glass door, a cigar on his right hand which he quickly put away since he knew Suzue wasn't too fond of that smell.
"Yes. Just checking in with Kato about the adollium situation." He lied.
"How strange! HEUSC didn't inform me anything about a situation that requires your attention, Daisuke-sama." Suzue said as she furrowed her eyebrows. She could tell that something was off but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. "I can help you with anything if you need me. I'll be in the lab doing some research." She announced with a more relaxed expression. She was determined to help him.
Before he could say anything, Suzue had turned and left him alone once again. Daisuke sighed. He needed to know what she felt for him, but how? He tried to think about his previous experiences with girls, or at least the ones from his former classmates.
After some minutes, Daisuke made up his mind and touched his left ear to activate HEUSC.
----
Suzue found herself sitting on a couch directly in front of Daisuke. The music roared loud around them at the rooftop of one of the most exclusive clubs in London. Daisuke was surrounded by girls dressed in provocative dressed and he seemed to enjoy himself.
She felt stupid for thinking that this was some kind of date. When Daisuke asked her to dress nicely she never imagined that she would be left to watch how other girls offered themselves to him. Several men had approached her already offering drinks but she rejected them all. She just wanted to go back home and convince herself that all of it had been some kind of nightmare.
The moment a girl sat on Daisuke's lap, Suzue had enough. She stood up and walked away from the scene. She touched her earring.
"HEUSC, send my car to Daisuke-sama location. I'm going home."
"Understood."
Suzue could feel the tears burning in her eyes already as she made her way to the elevator. She had been a fool, how could she think that Daisuke had finally see her as a woman? She pressed the button and waited impatiently until the doors opened.
What she never expected was that someone else managed to jump inside the elevator with her before the doors closed. She pressed the button for the lobby while ignoring the man in front of her.
"Where are you going?" Daisuke asked.
"Daisuke-sama, with all the respect you deserve... why would you care? You were quite busy a moment before."
Daisuke felt like a bucket of ice-cold water was throw at him. He had messed up badly by trying to make Suzue jealous.
"Suzue I-"
"I'm going home, HEUSC already sent my car. Keep having fun, sir."
Suzue sounded hurt and as much as she tried to hide it Daisuke could tell that she was crying. Her face was visibly red along with her eyes. He tried to get close to her but Suzue pushed him away, which felt like a stab to Daisuke's heart.
How could he possibly think that this was a good idea? He remembered some of his old friends doing it, maybe he should have asked Kato for advice before actually doing it.
"Suzue, please listen to me," Daisuke said visibly guilty.
"I never thought you could be this cruel, Daisuke-sama. Bringing someone who loves you to see how you flirt with all these girls."
He froze. Did Suzue just-?
"You what?"
Suzue finally looked at him as the doors opened. "As if you didn't know already!" She walked outside the elevator and into the lobby of the building. "HEUSC, how long till the car gets here?"
"Five minutes, Suzue-sama."
She grumbled and listened to the familiar sound that Daisuke's shoes made as he ran. Suzue quickly walked out of the building to wait for her car, but once she was outside she felt a hand around one of her wrists.
Daisuke was staring at her, she could see the deep regret in his eyes. He could make her so weak sometimes that she almost forgive him in that instant.
"Why Daisuke-sama? Why?" She asked, unable to contain the tears any longer.
He pulled her for a hug, which she tried to reject at first.
"I was an asshole, Suzue," Daisuke explained as he felt how she slowly let herself be hugged close to his chest. "I never wanted to hurt you. I just-" He sighed and prepared for the worst. "I love you too Suzue. I have loved you for quite some time already, but since I didn't know how you felt about me I thought I could maybe make you jealous if you see me with other women. In... my mind that would make you fell in love with me too... maybe."
Suzue looked up at him. Even with the tears in her eyes, he could tell that she was mad at him. Daisuke thought this was definitely the end, Suzue would quit, she would go back to Japan and Daisuke would be left alone once more. And... with all honesty, he felt like he certainly deserved it.
Suzue pulled away from the hug and Daisuke closed his eyes to prepare himself for a slap on his face. Surprisingly, it never came. Instead, he felt a smack on his arm. When he opened his eyes Suzue was still mad, but at the same time, he could see the smallest glimpse of a smile on her face.
"Making me jealous? What kind of teenager plan is that, Daisuke-sama?" Suzue said in tears. "N-never do something like this again. I can't- I-"
Daisuke gently wiped away the tears from her face with his thumbs. "I won't. I promise I won't hurt you ever again. Please forgive me."
Suzue nodded slowly, feeling how he grabbed her chin with two fingers before kissing her. The two shared a short and quite salty kiss, but it was perfect nonetheless. Their little moment was interrupted by the arrival of Suzue's car.
"Let's go home," Daisuke said softly, opening the passenger door for her. She nodded and got inside with his help. He could tell HEUSC to send his AC Cobra back home by itself later.
As he got on the driver's seat and grabbed Suzue's hand he swore to himself that he will make up to Suzue every single day for hurting her like this. At least his stupid plan had somewhat worked, the two had confessed their feelings towards one another.

Daisuzu after ep11 💴💗
OK we have Hoshiharu as well surprise surprise! @innovativestruggles this is your request of Suzue inviding Daisuke's bed at night so here ya go~ *there's a moment you'll think it'd turn into something explicit but in reality it's not so enjoy!*
That night Daisuke went to bed earlier after completing his business commitments, he was tired and reluctant of doing any other sorts of activities. He changed into his gray pajamas, brushed his teeth and tucked himself under the sheets, the same sheets Suzue brought him under a couple of days ago and he smiled a little. Now that he remembered it, it reminded him of the embarrassment he needed to undergo in order to avoid HEUSC's curiosity of trying to collect data on the things they were discussing during their stay at the mansion.
At least he was glad that everything was over; Kikuko was arrested, the AL was handed to MCPTF and everyone threw a big party to celebrate another marvelous win in the name of justice. Daisuke stayed just for a little bit because Kato and Hoshino got so drunk that they tied ties around their heads, climbed on the table and started singing incomprehensibly and although it looked funny, it wasn't for a person like him, the millionaire detective who got used to high-end types of gatherings. Besides, he couldn't allow himself to pass out in front of so many people, Kato was an exception though and it stayed at that.
When he arrived home, it was the first time that Suzue saw him after everything they've been going through. She stood at the entrance expectantly but refused to move any further because, although she felt enormous happiness upon seeing him coming back safe, she wanted to respect his boundaries and not to let her feelings get to her. Nonetheless, she couldn't completely deny them and that was prominent when the tears she was holding in for so long started falling down her face. Daisuke approached her with a bottle of Dom Perignon Champagne from 1973 and hugged her as if his life depended on it. The guilt of worrying her so much during their fight at the ship made him realize just how much Suzue meant to him and he wanted to let her know.
They drank the champagne in elegant thin glasses while the fireplace radiated with beautiful autumn-like atmosphere inside of their royal mansion. They talked and Suzue couldn't keep her hand away from his which Daisuke didn't mind. In fact, it made him calm and he felt a certain warmth filling his heart. He finally felt free after a long time; his days weren't boring and hollow anymore, his mother's murder has finally been solved and he made sure to check on his old man once a week. The doctors told him to give him some time for recovery since his memory was still damaged from the way Kikuko locked him out. Daisuke listened to their instructions and hoped for the best, everything he wanted was talk to his father the way he always used to.
Seeing Suzue's concerned expression made him sympathize and he invited her to sit with him on the sofa. Suzue blushed on the suggestion but she got up and sat down on his lap, with her legs crossed to his right. He placed one hand on her back while the other held her hand on her lap. Suzue leaned against his chest and Daisuke watched her eyes from below. She was beautiful like this and he snuggled his head into her right shoulder.
"He's going to be alright, I have a good feeling about this." Daisuke reassured.
"I can't believe that Mrs. Kikuko held him like this for 19 years. The sole thought of us sharing the same space during your absence sent chills down my spine."
"I know but now she's in a place where she belongs and you're safe. Please stop worrying, you've been doing this all day long."
He kissed her shoulder and she leaned her head on his.
"I know but it's hard to believe after everything we've been going through. She was so nice and I trusted her."
"Yes but she never really loved us. Everything she ever did was taking care of her own interests, money and adollium. And it meant so much more to her than my mother’s life or my father's well-being. This entire family was suffering because of her and her obsession with materialism clouded her mind."
...
"But that's why I have you and from now on there will never be a day where my motivations won't be aimed at anything else but our own happiness."
Suzue kissed him and this was actually the first time they ever shared a moment like this. Their lips parted and they looked at each other with big surprised eyes. Suzue started apologizing and getting up from her position but Daisuke pulled her back and kissed her more passionately. Suzue couldn't believe that he truly returned her feelings. After so many dangers and so many missions, he decided to show affection on the most carefree of events. He wasn't drunk, but she truly couldn't tell since his face was just as flush as when he used to exaggerate with his drink or two and she laughed a little. The blush was a nice contrast to his deep blue eyes and she leaned closer to capture his lips again but then he turned her around on her back and now she was laying on the sofa while he was hovering above her. He started to remove his waistcoat but then Suzue interrupted
"Don't you love this sofa? You're always talking about it as if it's one of your favorite items in the house."
Daisuke laughed under his breath, way to ruin the moment.
"I can buy a new sofa but I can't buy you. You are irreplaceable, my dear. Is that a satisfying enough reason for you?"
"Hm yes I think you're ri-" Daisuke caught her lips once again and continued leaving trails down her neck and collar bone.
Suzue removed his black striped tie, he unbuttoned her taupe-colored coat and the moment the situation started to heat up, Daisuke's phone ringed and he picked it up annoyingly.
On the other line was Kato who was talking somewhat slurishly "Kambe.. bout our movin' to England.. I just remembered bout the visas.. and travel insurance. I need to check everythin' before the final term.. so tell me when do you plan on leavin'. I be wantin' to do everything on time."
"You're planning on doing this drunk?"
"I'm not DRUNK Kambe.. I can still stand!"
"Congratulations on being one with the mankind, Kato-keibu."
Hoshino answered from the other side "Kambe-san! Please take care of sempai.. And don't let him go too far. You know how he can be."
"What does that even mean Hoshi?!" Haru sounded offended.
"Nothing.. besides the fact that you're reckless af.. which is hot."
"Reallyyyyyy~" Haru teased him and rustling could be heard through the phone.
"Guys can you leave the snogging for another time? I have something important to do."
"W-w-who is snogging?!" Hoshino sounded flustered.
"Who are you doing? Suzue-san?" Haru teased.
"It's really none of yo-"
"Ah-ah, don't try to deny it Kambe. I saw you two comin' from your room.. looking like a MESS!"
"Wait really?! Hoshino exclaimed surprised."
"Yup."
"I thought the two were related.. they looked similar tho."
"We're getting this all the time, it's for Suzue's decoy." Daisuke said.
"Oooooooo!" the guys replied in unison and Daisuke massaged his temples. Why was he even talking to the two drunks?
"Anyways, Kato, you have a week before departure and in the meantime you'll be able to organize everything. If there's a problem with time management you can contact me and I'll pay for the insurance if needed."
"Thanks Kambe! In moments like this I completely forget what of an asshole you can be. Say hi to Suzue for me."
Daisuke ended the call and sighed in defeat. He turned around expecting Suzue on the sofa but she wasn't there, great.
She came from the kitchen carrying two cups of Twinings Pure Camomile Tea and handed him the cup.
"It's been a long day and I thought you might need something for the relaxation."
"I'm sorry for this."
Suzue pecked his lips and stroked the back of his neck "You know that I love you all the same, no matter what happens."
Daisuke leaned and pressed their foreheads together "I'm going to miss you so much."
"Why?" Suzue was confused.
"You need to relax too, you deserve it. What do you say about a nice little vacation while I'm fighting crimes in the UK?"
"In this case I want to be in England for the vacation. What if something happens and I won't be able to help?" Suzue pouted and Daisuke smiled softly, she was so cute.
"That's the point of the vacation dear, you're supposed to enjoy yourself more. I'll be fine," Daisuke touched his earing device "HEUSC, give me the most luxurious destination to spend holidays in."
"However you say."
"Are you sure about this? You won't mind?" Suzue asked concerned.
"Of course. Besides, you never really got the chance to relax since you were too preoccupied with my mother's case."
"Place of your interest: Bora Bora, French Polynesia." HEUSC replied.
"Here, I'll book you the rest and everything you have to do is take the stuff you'll need. Don't forget the sunscreen, the sun is really strong out there."
Suzue looked sheepishly at her fingers fiddling "Thank you, I don't want to come across as ungrateful but I'd really appreciate if you joined me one day. That is, if you ever find the time."
"It's going to be difficult since the crime rate is getting higher because of the adollium smuggle. It's another challenge for all of us, but we will overcome that as well."
He took her hands in his "So yes, I'll join you for a day or more."
"Good enough for me." Suzue smiled and hugged him and he returned with the same warmth and comfort. They stayed like this for some time while Suzue held her head on his shoulder. It was a feeling she never wanted to forget.
And that's how it came about. They entered their own rooms, did their nightly routine and went to bed. And as much as he tried, Daisuke couldn't fall asleep because of all the things that went through his head. The world will be a more dangerous place from now on and adollium will be one of the key milestones in preserving the well-being of all people. Maybe the grandma was right, maybe the world wasn't mature enough for this kind of responsibility. Perhaps Kato helped him in bringing one of the most important decisions in his life, but then what? How can he proceed? What should he do? Was there a reason for him to be worried at all? He felt guilty for his family's project and troubles it brought for all of them. He could convince Suzue in his words but there was no way he could convince himself. He was hopeless.
But then he heard someone quietly entering his room and, being the only other person in the house, of course he concluded that it was Suzue. He heard her carefully inviding his bed, lying behind his back and placing her hands around him on his chest. Without a word, he took her smaller hand in his own and kissed her knuckles.
Maybe his life just became more difficult but as long as Suzue was there by his side, he could sleep without a worry in the world.

DaiSuzue as Modern Teachers.
So this time i wrote something. Daisuke is an English Teacher and Suzue is a kindergarten Teacher. ASDKAMKMNDAKDJS i’m soft. Enjoy.
It was a hard and tiring day for the Kambe’s, well kinda. Suzue had to take care of 15 toddlers and it was hell. Meanwhile, Daisuke had a class and it turned out pretty well like always. They work at different schools but Daisuke always has time to take Suzue to her work place and picking her up. The day ended like usual but Daisuke had some paperwork left and so Suzue was left alone in their Mansion. Waiting for her beloved husband.
Suzue sighed as she finally reached home and plopped herself on their bed. She stayed like that for awhile, staring at the ceiling till suddenly a car parked at front of the mansion. She stood up and looked outside the window, as she stood there she saw Daisuke in his fancy suit coming out of the car. She huffs before proceeding to go back to bed while ignoring her hubby.
Daisuke entered the house, smiling and trying to find a specific someone, “Hm, no, not in the kitchen or living room. Where could she be?” Daisuke thought. Seconds later he had an idea, “Ah! The bedroom.” Happily marching his way up the stairs and to their shared bedroom. As the door opened, Suzue decided to ignore him. “How’s my lil Sushi doing?” …Silence.
Daisuke then notices her strange behavior, he was curious of course as he proceeds to lay down on the other side of the bed. “Suzue? What’s wrong.” Again with the silent treatment. “Did I make you upset? Did I do something wrong?” At this point Daisuke was getting worried and was panicking inside a bit, after a few minutes of silence Suzue finally decided to answer. She got up but her back facing him. “It’s unfair.” Hah, at this point Daisuke was dumbfounded at her answer. “Wha-” Before he could finish his sentence Suzue cuts him off.
“Why do you get the fun job.”
“Fun job? What do you mean, Suzue?”
“You alway’s get to teach fun classes while I suffer.”
It stayed quite for a moment. Daisuke was quite for a bit before continuing to answer. “Aw? Is my lil Sushi jealous?” He teased which got Suzue off-guard. “I-i’m not.” She huffs n pouts. “Aw you’re so adorable whenever you’re jealous.” Daisuke then proceeds to hug her from behind which made Suzue more flustered than ever. “It’s okay, I still love you. I’m actually impressed you’re able to handle all those kids without losing yourself.” Daisuke added while kissing her forehead. At this point, Suzue was shaking and was beet red “Mmm, you can be such a dipshit sometimes.” She said as she giggled and proceeds to hug him back. Her head now laying on his stomach as he begins to stroke her head with soft one’s.
“I’m sorry. But I got good news.”
“. . .”
“I guess you’re waiting.” Said Daisuke while smirking.
“Of course I am!” She waited as she pulled away from the hug. Now both facing each other.
“Divishion has a free spot for a teacher! Well, if you wan’t to. It’s okay if yo-“ Before he could finish his sentence he once again got cut off. “Of course I do! I’d love to work at the same place with my hubby!” Suzue said as she hops up n’ down from excitement. “Aw you’re so adorable whenever you’re excited.” She stops and pounds on Daisuke leading her resting on top of him.
“I’ll inform the manager.”
“Thanks, Daisuke.” She said as she slowly drifts to sleep.
“Anything for my lil Sushi.” He said as he strokes her back with soft ones before drifting to sleep himself.
KASJDKSAKJDKJAS I KNOW THIS IS KINDA OUT OF CHARACTER BUT TSUNDERE!SUZUE AKSJDKASJKDKSJAKDA. And i imagine them being the best teachers.

my previous ask got cut :(( anw i sent one because i saw your tags and i got a lil excited to find someone else who's interested in ryoharu and daisuzue too!! tho i see daiharu more as a brotp rather than in a shipping light but they're slowly growing on me. also i agree w all your points from your reblog of my post hehe i was really let down that they revealed her as a relative with a pseudo-bro con, i hope there's more to her too. i'd love to hear more of your thoughts about fkbu!! :D
Ah, glad to know I’m not alone :) Perks of being a multishipper I suppose :^D If Suzue and Ryo didn’t exist, Daiharu would’ve been my otp for sure lol (And it’s fine to ship them as a brotp!). Here are my thoughts:
Ryo is my fave, so it stings going through his tag and the Ryo/Haru tag on ao3 to see him mostly being portrayed as Haru’s ex whose only purpose is to make Daisuke jealous. I don’t have an issue with authors tackling this love triangle (creative freedom and all), but it’s just not my thing. I only want a genuinely good, pre-canon fic of my First Division boys, is that too much to ask? >_>
I prefer drawing comparisons between Haru’s partnerships, seeing as Haru adopted a mentor role for both, and I like seeing Ryo and Daisuke’s reactions to his traditional brand of justice in the workforce based on what we know about them, with Ryo having once admired Haru and Daisuke with his affluent background. Since Ryo is a supporting character, I don’t expect him to appear much *cries*, but I hope he and Daisuke will have a conversation about Haru at some point, disillusioned kohai to stubborn kohai.
Daisuzu is cute oml! I love reading hints/analyses supporting the theory that Suzue could still be a possible romantic partner for Daisuke in the anime despite the “relative” reveal. The OP and her over-the-top behavior toward Daisuke are just too hard to ignore for the mystery of their relationship to be solved like that (unless you could chalk it down to Suzue being the best family member/servant ever).
I found it hilarious how Daisuke and Suzue were cool, all-around badasses in earlier episodes, only for their characters to do a 180 in the recent one. Suzue’s change was more jarring because of how we were introduced to her, but my expectations for her role in the story are higher because she seems to be the show’s tritagonist, so let's just wait and see.
I’m down for Haruzue as well, though I have no idea why the writing team would make Suzue the love interest of an anime-only character instead of the protagonist like in Yasutaka’s novel. Suzue could certainly give Haru a run for his money in the housekeeping department though haha.
Even though I’m not as invested in Daiharu as much as the other ships, I really adore their dynamic, it’s so damn entertaining! XD It’s a shame there’s an empty gap in their development from the unreleased Hong Kong ep (in light of recent events in HK) and I personally feel it should’ve taken a few more eps for them to try to adjust to each other’s investigative methods and lifestyles before we got the fanfic fest that was episode 4, but hey at least we finally saw Daisuke with his hair down <3
As for my thoughts on the anime as a whole, they just range from thirst to love for the mystery/detective genre and finally to the underlying ethics surrounding the extreme utilisation of money XD I know it has served Daisuke well so far, but since the first few eps consisted of Haru being flabbergasted at his style, I wonder when the time will come for him to solve a case the old-fashioned way. Whether it’s a gag or something pertaining to his character arc, I’d certainly like to see that.

HI sorry to bother you but I saw your daisuzu extract and I love it! Do you think you'll be writing more of it? Have a nice day :)
Heya lovely 🌼
Firstly please don't apologise, you're never bothering me! And secondly I am so so so sorry for taking so long to respond. It's been an incredibly busy few months for me and I barely have time for tumblr or anime 😞 But to your question - well, the FKBU fic is still in the line up amongst several fanfics I am writing. I have two WIPs atm so I will need to finish those two first before I can think of starting a new one. So it'll have to wait for now unfortunately. I can only write when I have time, so there has also been a massive delay in my fics as well.
I'm sorry if this isn't the answer you wanted. I think there are a few DaiSuzu fics lurking around, but the anime is over a year old so I'm not so sure how active the fandom is now...

why do you ship Daisuke and Suzue?
I honestly thought I would never get asked such a question, considering the amount of DaiSuzu/Daizue trash that is written all over my blog LOL!
But the short answer is: Their relationship in the novel.
The long answer also stems from their relationship in the novel. I am both a novel reader and an anime watcher but I was prompted to read the novel before the release of the anime. I came in with no expectations for either the novel or the anime. I ship whoever I feel has the most chemistry and the potential for a healthy fulfilling relationship.
The novel goes into a lot more complexity when it comes to Daisuke and Suzue’s relationship. And I ship them because of their differing personalities and their compatibility with each other.
Suzue was brought in and “adopted” by Daisuke’s family (mainly his father) and given top priority education, a home to live in and a job as the father’s secretary. She lost both her parents so in essence, the Kambes are like second family to her. That being said, Suzue is very fond of Daisuke and she will do anything he asks of her, including playing decoy to high profile men suspected of homicide (very much to the father’s dismay). In saying that, Suzue is most loyal to Daisuke’s father and he does consider her as his own daughter. You can start to see the complexity already that intertwines Suzue and the Kambes re; family relationships, but the novel does not allow that family type relationship between Suzue and the Kambes to detract from her romantic affections for Daisuke. Likewise, Daisuke’s attraction to Suzue is not hindered by the fact that Suzue is considered like family. Even though he has stated on occasions that she is like family, he still has feelings of attraction towards her.
Despite being oblivious and married to his work, Daisuke still takes Suzue on dates (not that it always successfully goes ahead. If I remember correctly, it was a total of 7 dates, and only 2 of them were uninterrupted. Daisuke would always leave halfway to go into work LOL - poor Suzue). And still then, Suzue would never complain or be angry, because she knows how important his work is to him. She is so respectful of him and I really like that about her.
Daisuke’s way of showing Suzue affection is literally taking her out even when he is busy af. Or buying her things, or complimenting her in his head. He cares about her very much. He isn’t very good at showing his feelings and he does things very awkwardly. He’s just completely oblivious to Suzue’s feelings AND his own feelings toward her ! He’s that absorbed in his own world of work.
The novel centres on Daisuke and his character development. It is not a romance novel. Even though there are elements of it, the reader is left to pick up the subtle signs and draw their own conclusions at time. Though in saying that, the author does it in a way that steers the reader in the direction that really makes you cheer for Daisuke and Suzue.
I absolutely love the relationship between Daisuke and Suzue in the novel. It is so beautiful, wholesome and just plain dorky awkward. It is not over the top (despite Suzue’s fondness - it is more exaggerated in the anime, though not too far off from novel) and there is this sweet feel to it. Their personalities were created in a way that they are different yet compliment each other very well.
You may have heard this from posts here and there but the story ends with two alternate endings.
Ending 1: Daisuke continues to be a great cop in Division 1. He realises his feelings for Suzue and proposes to her, to which she accepts to marry him.
Ending 2: Daisuke becomes bankrupt. He realises his feelings for Suzue and proposes to her, to which she rejects him on the grounds that she believes he is too committed to his work to enter a marriage with her.
The second ending is very sad of course but given what you see throughout the entire novel, you can see where Suzue is coming from. It does not mean she does not love him. It just means she believes he is not ready to balance his work life with marriage life.
Regardless, of what ending the reader chooses, it does not detract from the fact that Daisuke and Suzue love each other very much.
So when I watched the anime and saw the OP of them together, I got so excited because i had this belief that they were really going to follow the novel. But then people started saying they look similar etc etc i mean, in the novel, Suzue has dark hair and big eyes ... so at first I wasn’t sure what anime fans were trying to say ... but then Haru doesn’t exist in the novel and then I read that the anime is only loosely based on the novel. At first I was okay with this as long as they do not trash Suzue’s character (that OP gave me the hope), but then they revealed she is a relative and I was very disappointed. I think a lot of novel readers are because we have been sold this idea of Daisuke and Suzue as the ultimate couple...and then we were hopeful to see them animated...
I mean, there’s a part of me trying to see the novel and anime as completely separate, but I can’t help it. I mean novel Daisuke’s personality is very different from anime Daisuke...but still....if they were gonna make Suzue a relative in the anime why can’t they just create a new character completely and leave the novel Suzue alone? They just mixed it up and I’m just frustrated haha! I can’t help it!!!!!
Oh shit, this was longer than I thought! LOL! Hope that answers your question!
I will forever ship DaiSuzu in the novel because that is the real canon and the original story for me ❤️❤️

daisuke and suzue are relatives!! why would you ship relatives?!? the anime and novel are different
Tbvh with you anon, I don’t know whether you are being rude about this, but obviously I didn’t make myself clear enough from my previous post when another person asked why I ship Daisuke and Suzue.
Let me reiterate this very, very clearly for you (and for anyone else who sits around the same question). I ship Daisuke and Suzue from the novel. And they are NOT related in the novel. Please read this previous ask where I explained why I ship them.
And yes, I am very much aware that the novel and anime are different thank you very much.
I am also very much aware that the anime is only loosely based on the novel.
In saying that, it is very difficult for me as a novel reader to not be frustrated at the changes made by the anime creators. I will use Harry Potter as the best metaphorical example as a lot of people are familiar with it.
Imagine you reading all 7 Harry Potter books first. It is the ultimate canon. It is the original. You become invested in the characters and their relationships. Let’s pick Ron and Hermione. The books build on their relationship from the very beginning, all the way through to the very end where they end up together. Now imagine you start watching the Harry Potter movies, and then the movie creator suddenly makes Ron and Hermione relatives.
Whether you ship Ron and Hermione isn’t the issue here. The issue is that you become invested in the characters’ relationship, and how they progress and end up together, only for it to be screwed over by the movie adaptation. It is very jarring and it doesn’t make sense.
There are other things movie/tv show adaptations can change from a novel, but changing a character’s relationship is a big no no. You may also be wondering “oh but they changed the relationship between Daisuke’s father and Daisuke from novel to anime. Daisuke’s father is not the antagonist in the novel so you don’t make any sense etc etc” - well yes and no. The anime changed Daisuke’s relationship with his father by also changing the father’s name. So in essence he is a new character. Does that make sense? Whereas Suzue has kept her name (not surname), her looks, her role, her personality etc etc so in essence there are elements that she is the same person from the novel. So it would have been better for us novel readers that the anime creators made a new character completely and not keep Suzue and then turn her into a relative.
So you can see how it is very difficult for some of us novel readers who were already invested in Daisuke and Suzue’s relationship to not feel frustrated at the potential change in Suzue’s relationship status. The lines between novel and anime become quite blurred for us novel readers when it comes to Daisuke and Suzue’s relationship.
We know anime and novel are separate but I just wanted to explain to you why I am still shipping Daisuke and Suzue - mostly from the novel (and how it may spillover into me shipping them in the anime).
Regardless, we still don’t know what type of relative Suzue is to Daisuke in the anime. It was never clarified. She could be a cousin, distant cousin, entered into the Kambe by marriage or adopted into the family. We still don’t know. There are theories floating around that Daisuke may have lied about Suzue being his relative. It is all up in the air at the moment. Regardless of the similarities in their appearance, it could be anything at this stage. I mean, Daisuke’s parents look similar to each other as well...so who knows..maybe that’s how they designed the characters.
I’m willing to give the anime the benefit of the doubt at the moment and not make any conclusions about their relationship until I get a full proper confirmation. If they do turn out to be truly related and they are like first cousins or something, then I’ll stop shipping them in the anime. If they are distant distant distant cousins that it is negligible that they are even related anymore than yes I’ll ship them.
Whatever the outcome of the anime relationship, I will always ship them in the novel.
I hope this clarify things for you. Please don’t jump to conclusions that I ship relatives. The whole incest thing is disgusting and I don’t just go out there and ship whoever (this goes for toxic fans who ship two guys who breathe the same air. Same shit different context).
I speak for other novel readers who feel the same as well as other DaiSuzu shippers as well. Please don’t just think we love shipping relatives. Don’t make assumptions. If you are unsure, just ask.
Thanks and please be respectful. Peace 🤞

Daisuzu shopping 💗
I thought about Daisuke's night at Kato's place and wondered if he'd ever consider repeating "the same mistake" again. Living a life of a commoner is strange for a millionaire, but he'll get the hang of it.
~o0o~
It was yet another busy day at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. The crew managed to catch the criminals responsible for the robbery of the "Space Jewelry" shop in Ginza, the Tokyo's most famous upmarket shopping district. After he filled the report and got himself patched from a fight with one of the resisters, Daisuke returned to his mansion with bandages and sterile gauze wrapped around his upper arm. It wasn't that deep but the cut on his maroon dress shirt wouldn't be fixed so easily.
Suzue had enough of constantly throwing away beautiful garments of clothes and Daisuke's closet was becoming emptier by each day. Therefore, she decided to do him a favor and buy the suits by herself. She got dressed in her beige trenchcoat after their meal and before she left the residence, Daisuke stopped her and asked if he could join her in whatever she needed help with. This surprised Suzue because he was never interested in these kinds of things, she was usually in charge of the purchases. Daisuke insisted because, after he spent his time at Haru’s place, he realized just how important it was for him to get involved in the everyday life of a simple man and learn how things around him work. And Suzue was never happier to comply.
Daisuke felt a little odd that he had to blend in with the large crowd of simple commoners, the busy traffic, and the constant commotion. Does Suzue really have to deal with this every single day? He suddenly felt self-aware and didn't know where to put his hands. He saw a couple holding hands and felt a little awkward because he didn’t know how Suzue would react if he performed the same thing. Therefore he extended his elbow in a gentleman-like fashion and offered her to take it. She smiled the sweetest smile and accepted it, he didn't even know what he found so compelling in this situation but it made him content as well.
They arrived at Aoyama boutique in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods around. And although it has a great reputation in fashion industry, they offered casual designs with hight quality and inexpensive prices. The moment they walked in, Daisuke was instantly drawn to the expensive section of the shop but Suzue needed to drag him away to the part they were looking for.
"But Suzue, these suits aren't as good as the ones on display."
"That's because every store has a simple costumer tactic they're using for psychological reasons. For them, it is important that they have strong in-store visuals and display their best products in front of the complex. Our current task is to buy a bunch of suits with high quality and lower price. Remember, we're buying you work clothes which are easily expendable but made of quality materials to make them last longer. Besides, you already have suits for special occasions at home."
"I know but.." Daisuke felt discouraged.
Suzue could see his uneasiness and eyes averting in thought "What's wrong?"
"The day I bought Abura Emirate's seventh prince's car-"
"You did what?"
"It's true. We needed the car to catch two young people responsible for the robbery of the chocolate store."
Suzue laughed softly "This is silly."
"I know. And the prince was looking down on my clothes for some reason. I lost my nerve and made a quick purchase."
"You were rough again?"
"Yes I was."
Suzue approached him and put her hand on his cheek "Maybe the prince was boisterous but you are old money, Daisuke-sama, and a person like him won't survive long enough in the royal district. You're the real deal, so I advise you not to bother with such people if that's what you really want."
Daisuke looked surprised and somewhat flustered. Suzue panicked a little when she realized what she just did and nervously told them to continue looking for his clothes.
After they finished with the shopping, Suzue couldn't help it but to head towards the Aoyama Farmer's Market with fresh homemade products.
"I thought we were going home?"
"I know but these products are healthier than those from the supermarket. I'm only thinking about your health, you'll thank me later."
Daisuke just watched her walking enthusiastically towards one of the stands and he was shaking his head while smiling. He found it cute when she gets so carried away. Suzue spotted the jam of her choice stacked on a high shelf, she tried to reach it but even her high heels couldn't help her. In vain attempts to get it, she didn't notice Daisuke standing next to her and taking what she wanted. Their hands barely brushed against each other and they nervously looked at different directions. He handed it to her and she thanked him.
Noticing her tension, Daisuke wanted to relax her so they wouldn’t find themselves in similar situations and not to make her nervous anymore. He could only guess why this was happening but, being clumsy the way he was, he couldn't fully establish the reason of her behavior. However, he tried and proposed to take her to Cheery Blossoms at Aoyama Cemetery. Suzue instead, became so flustered upon hearing his suggestion that he got worried and asked her if he should take her somewhere else which she refused because she didn't want to disappoint him if he really wanted to go there.
And that's where they were, sitting on a bench and watching the peaceful sight of the beautiful cherry blossoms. Suzue was so thrilled to be there that she took pictures of the place and made selfies. She looked at them and commented how she couldn't wait to show them to Mrs. Kikuko. Now that she mentoned her, she wondered whether they should buy something for her as well and she went through all the possibilities of what they could bring her once they arrive home. Daisuke watched her with a soft smile on his face.
"Suzue is really amazing.. wait what am I thinking?"
Well, it's not true that Suzue wasn't amazing. of course she is. God she's incredible even, for the way she always took care of everything. Being surrounded by cherry trees just added to her unquestionable beauty. Her cheerful spirit and curious nature reminded him of someone close to his heart. Someone he loved dearly, a woman who left him a long time ago and not by her own fault. But looking at Suzue now, he realized that he wasn't unfortunate because he had her and that was everything he could ever ask for.
God was he in love with her? He couldn't tell. It's not that he didn't know, he was more worried about Suzue's reaction. How will she take it? Is it too risky to start off this soon? Is she still nervous being by his side? Why did she act this way? Why is she nervous when there's no reason for her to be nervous in the first place? They lived in the same mansion for so long. Why is he nervous upon thinking about her and her feelings? Oh. He thought he got his answers but he needed to check them first. He just hoped that he won't mess everything up.
While Suzue watched her photos and talked about plans for the dinner, Daisuke carefully tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and kissed her cheek. They looked at each other and what Daisuke wasn't expecting was Suzue taking his cheeks in both of her hands and locking his lips with hers. Daisuke was still somewhat hazy and Suzue smiled a little.
"Cherry flowers are really doing it for you, aren't they?"
"This doesn't minimize the fact that you’re beautiful the way you are."
Daisuke realized what he just said and he blushed. Suzue gave him a peck on the lips and stroked the back of his neck which sent shivers through his back. They looked at each other so lovingly that they didn't notice other people's presence until recently and not to attract too much attention, they decided to visit Pierre Herme's café where they shared ispahan- a delightful mélange of lychee, rose and raspberry. Daisuke insisted on feeding her with the excuse that she always spoiled him and that he needed to make up for it in a way, to which she let him. They had a great time together and they took a cake for grandma as well.
When they arrived home, Daisuke opened her the doors like a gentleman he was. Suzue took a couple of his bags to help him carrying them and grandma Kikuko saw them in the hallway.
"Hello children, how was your date?"
Suzue just blushed in embarrassment "W-what do you mean?"
"Haven't you spent half a day outside? Sounds like a date to me."
Suzue just took her things, excused herself and headed to the room to put Daisuke's suits in the closet.
Grandma smiled and Daisuke averted his eyes in amusement.
"How do you notice such this?"
"I had a hunch. So, how did it go?"
"It was fine. Without any complications or embarrassments for that matter. I.. needed some time to figure things out but in the end everything sat in its rightful place."
Grandma looked relieved and said "Sayuri was always shy about expressing her feelings but when she did, she showed it in the most genuine of ways. And every day you keep resembling her more. I'm glad you turned out the way you did, even if we have our own disagreements."
He smiled a little "Thank you, grandma."
And went upstairs to help Suzue with the stuff they bought. Maybe he couldn't see his mother again, but Suzue brought a positive change in his life. A change he'd always be grateful for and cherish.

To my lovely beautiful DaiSuzu fans,
I recently received a very rude ask from a toxic Daiharu fan telling me how all DaiSuzu shippers are “disgusting” and “gross” for shipping relatives, and how they “can’t stand straight people and their need to always force heterosexual ships,” especially in relation to “Daisuke and Suzue who clearly do not have mutual feelings for each other.”
Not only do I find this incredibly offensive but I see it as extremely discriminative as well. This goes far beyond the realm of shipping and enjoying anime content and debates. It is a deliberate and personal attack on DaiSuzu shippers and the real people behind the screen.
This person’s behaviour is absolutely repulsive and completely hypocritical. To group people in the same bracket as gross and disgusting just for shipping characters is beyond belief.
I have chosen not to publicly post the ask because I will not be spreading negative content. And I know it is probably what this troll wants. I want to let this person know that their behaviour is abusive, disrespectful and NOT okay.
I am already seeing an escalation of abuse towards Suzue and DaiSuzu shippers post-Episode 8. I am disgusted with how this fandom operates and its treatment towards other fans and women in general (fiction or not!). Because as soon as there is some sort of intimacy between heterosexual couples (re; Daisuke and Suzue), toxic fans feel the need to express their anger and frustration on DaiSuzu shippers who are happily minding their own business.
Keep your bloody opinions to yourself. We do not want to hear it. I am appalled by this vile behaviour and I can see why some fans have dropped the show completely. It’s because they do not feel safe expressing their opinions and their ships and their love for their characters. You toxic daiharu shippers need to take a closer look at yourself and how your abusive behaviour impacts on others.
I have already posted my own reason as to why I ship Daizue. Do you think us DaiSuzu shippers would just waltz out there and decide to condone incest? Ffs! Our reasoning behind our shipping of DaiSuzu is much more complex than you deciding to ship two male characters who breathe the same air.
To the novel readers who are invested in Daizue’s relationship. I am so sorry that you feel misunderstood and berated by toxic anime fans. I am sorry that they undermine your interest in both the novel and the anime. You have the rights to ship Daizue in the novel as much as in the anime, and feel frustrated that the anime screwed up Suzue’s relationship status to Daisuke. You also have the rights to feel unsettled and confused and unsure and still wanting to ship Daizue in the anime without having toxic fans accuse you of shipping incest. It is confusing as both a novel reader and an anime watcher and I completely understand the limbo position you are stuck in when it comes to DaiSuzu.
But please remember this. Those toxic daiharu fans are responsible for their own actions, and it is not any of us DaiSuzu shippers’ fault for wanting to enjoy the anime and ship these two beautiful characters.
Daizue’s relationship status at this stage is still unknown. The anime creators have propositioned intimacy/romance between Daisuke and Suzue from the OP. It is clear as day. Any non-anime watcher who looks at that OP of Daizue would immediately think romance. So if that is what the anime creators are bringing across to fans then there is even more of a reason not to be embedded with feelings of guilt for shipping them.
I say this once more. Our little group of DaiSuzu shippers may be small, but we will not stand for abuse of fans or of Suzue. Suzue may be a fictional character, but the fact that she is hated because she is female and because she is a threat to daiharu, is internalised misogyny at its finest. Considering the vast majority of toxic daiharu shippers are women themselves, it is atrocious that you even think along the lines of condoning violence against women. And just because it is a fictional female character, it does not excuse you from being misogynistic. It spills over into your own perception and values of women and girls in the real world. Please be mindful of how you portray yourself to others online with regards to hating female characters - because that is an extension of who you are as a person.
Anyways, my precious DaiSuzu shippers, thank you for being so supportive! We are a great community amongst such a toxic fandom. We all keep each other going with our love for Daisuke and Suzue!
Rest assured that novel Daisuke and Suzue are very happy to hear that we ship them because that was how their relationship was made - for each other ❤️❤️
Yours sincerely,
A novel reader, an anime watcher and a frustrated DaiSuzu shipper

daisuzu is definitely going to be canon. we really shouldn't worry about what the staff does to hype up fans because daisuzu has been implied since the beginning. maybe it won't be explicit, but it'll be there. besides, daiharus love to blow up and over exaggerate any interaction that happens between them, so don't think too deeply about it.
Absolutely correct! ✔️✔️
I know how hard it is to feel left behind when you are a shipper of a rarepair (omfg I still don’t understand why I keep doing this shit to myself by shipping rare pairs all the time lmao), but I definitely believe, based on the enormous speculations made, that there will be some sort of DaiSuzu canon. And as you said, whether it is overtly or covertly, there will be something there at least. I reckon even something like revealing their true relationship to each other (as in whether they are true relatives or not), would be a good indicator as to whether they would be canon or not 💕
To the Anon who sent me the ask about the twitter post (and anyone else who feels rattled by the promo team and crazy daiharu fans), just keep remembering that it is a deliberate marketing strategy what the promo team and the FKBU staff are doing. They need to retain viewers, especially after what happened in eppy 8!
You have a lot of support behind you! Us DaiSuzu shippers will never give up! We are certain we will get something at least! 💜💜 💖

Hi I just wanted to say that I have been following the fkbu fandom since the very beginning and you and user innovativestruggles were literally the only 2 ppl who shipped daisuzu when the anime was released and I want to thank you both for giving daisuzu content and never giving up on this ship even though there are so many toxic daiharu fans. I feel you two are a big reason why a lot of ppl started shipping daisuzu or feel more comfy shipping them so thank you!! 😊
Aww thank YOU for sticking around although a big part of the fandom discouraged it and some still do! 💗
It's true, me, @innovativestruggles and @narcopharmacist were there from the begging and I can remember it clearly how desperate we were from the lack of content to enjoy since FKBU staff mainly posted Daisuke and Haru merch among all the other things. 😂😂
Since we had nothing to work with I dedicated myself to drawing and creating HCs, innovativestruggles too and I remember her pointing out some amazing theories which started to make sense to me and concluded that DaiSuzu might still have a chance despite many claiming that they looked too similar to be in this sort of relationship. We played detectives of sorts and tried to find all kinds of evidence from the op video which we did and I was glad. innovativestruggles is a real intellectual who cares ab details so I never doubted her way of thinking. Btw she's the one who told me ab the novel and its possible endings. I'm still hyped ab the novel.
Later I met narcopharmacist who's the most informed from the 3 of us. She knows everything and anything and she's always telling me ab the stuff ppl are often posting on other platforms and social media, things I'd never know if she hadn't told me herself. We're still chatting in DMs and she's such a wonderful and optimistic person. So smart and has a great eye for details. I love both of them.
Like, we were literally fangirling by ourselves but now I noticed that others are slowly joining us as well! People who were too insecure to ship it bc of their worry if others would judge them for shipping incest IF it rly turns out that Daisuke and Suzue are truly related *which we still don't know yet and the clues are currently pointing at their distant relation which is acceptable considering that royal families do these kids of things to keep the money in the house*. I need to admit, I had my doubts as well and there were times when I thought to myself "what if all the content you were creating till now just falls apart, imagine the embarrassment", but then I said "it's just fiction and the most important thing is to enjoy yourself". So I went ahead without worrying too much and it was actually worth it. We got ep 4 and 8 which proved how Daisuke and Suzue care ab each other and now we only have 3 episodes to go.
There were also many daiharu shippers sending us uncomfortable and mean messages but we either deleted them or answered them in the most polite and level-headed manner. Because of our politeness, optimism and understanding, people felt safe and that's why some fans decided to join us. It's nice to have a safe space where everyone's opinion is welcomed, appreciated and where no one will worry ab expressing themselves. Daiharu hatred won't suppress daisuzu positivity!

I just found your blog . I'm grateful that there are so many daisuzu shippers like you! You have so much patience to narrate and explain to the daisuzu haters... in the most respective and legitimate ways. Looking forward to being here 😁!
Heya lovely! 🌸
Welcome on board the DaiSuzu ship (and our growing cheer squad)! So happy that you found us 🥰
Ah yes...those days when I had to do a lot of explaining 😅 I found that once I provided a thorough explanation, people actually kept quiet after, although...there was a minority who seemed immune to it...
Regardless, there's a few of us DaiSuzu shippers still lurking around here and there, and we are all hoping for either a season 2 or a movie. Considering Cloverwork's history, I highly doubt we would get anything beyond the 11 episodes......
We are always still here for a chat about FKBU so feel free to share your thoughts anytime!
Take care and thank you so much for the lovely message 💞

I’m following a jp fan on twitter who also went to the prescreening on ep 11. She just tweeted [というか鈴江さん何者なのよ(n億回目) ] and [親戚とか雑なぶん投げしてくれるってことは何か理由があるんだな!?あわよくば物語を作ってくれるんだな?!?って心の中でジャブ打ってる ]☹️😫😭 there goes my last hope. If they really still don’t reveal anything about Suzue and just continue to give vague hints on ep 11 that’s honestly the worst thing they can do. I’m not expecting daisuzu to be canon(not a romance anime) but the least they can do is give us explicit info on suzue specifically that she is NOT blood relative at all so we can ship daisuzu in peace and away from toxic fans like is that too much to ask?? 😑
Heya lovely!
That’s strange. Did the person explicitly state that they went to watch the prescreen? Because they are not supposed to reveal any spoilers, and judging from what the user mentioned in her tweets, it is vague if she is talking about FKBU in general but it is very heavy in spoilers if she is referring specifically to episode 11.
Regardless, I agree with you in that I don’t expect to have a daisuzu canon either, but it would be a big shame if they don’t reveal Suzue’s true relationship to Daisuke or at least go into a little more detail about it. Because in essence it does not explain the whole “mysterious woman” and would leave a lot of things unanswered...unless they have other means of revealing it? Otherwise it would be very poorly written work. I mean tbh, the whole pacing of the anime is a bit rough and a lot of scenes have been cut out. If they are going down the path of “we will leave it up to the audience’s imagination” with regards to Daizue’s relationship - well that would be pretty shitass b/c that would just piss off fans even more 😒

ZOMG I read your daisuzu fanfic! It's so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👁 👄👁Am I able to ask a big request that you give us another extract with a daisuzu nsfw scene or smthing?👉 👈pls pls pls? I am so sick of seeing daiharu smut everywhere and I just want to read some daisuzu loving and I want to see it in your writing? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
LMAO omfg! AHHHHH so many amazing comments, I didn’t expect to receive this many positive feedback! Thank you so much for this lovely comment/feedback. You don’t know how happy writers are to hear of comments like this legit 🤧
Hmm, I don’t usually take requests because I’m just really busy with trying to complete a lot of fanfics in general...hmmm...I tell you what, if there are more people who are interested in another extract, then I may make an exception 😉
Please remember that I do not write smut or any sexually explicit content, (although in saying that, the sexual reference scenes I write can still be quite strong...but I won’t post any of the stronger contents on tumblr)
Thank you so much again for the feedback! Ahhhhhhhhh it’s a good day 😘

helllo so I saw you answering an ask about a fic you wrote for daisuzu/daisue. mind if i ask what it's called?? thx thx
Heya lovely 💞
Thank you so much for the ask!
The DaiSuzu/HoshiHaru fic I am writing is still being finalised so I have not officially titled it yet.
I did write an extract that you can read here.
I do not have an estimation as to when the fic will be available yet as I am still in the process of completing a few edits for a couple other fanfics. I answered another ask about availability here. As I have another fic lined up before the FKBU one, it may take a bit longer, but I will see if I can do a couple WIPs at the same time.
Once I get the chapters up and running, they will all be available on AO3. So please watch this space! ❤️
