found your blog thru one of your joel fics and when i saw you are planning on writing for daryl butcher and arthur too i fell to my knees. you’re such a good writer can’t wait to see what more you will come up with

please i'm so excited to write for more people!! all the men in my masterlist are my fave fictional men ever (including rick sanchez but he's a guilty pleasure so i keep him off the blog lmao). i keep thinking about what i can write for butcher and daryl - just brainstorming ideas and thinking of drabbles and one-shots. I've never written for either of them before so I'm gonna give myself some time to practice so i can get dialogue, vernacular and mannerisms down or at least somewhat believable. as for arthur, he's so special to me that i feel he deserves more than just a one-shot. i've had an ofc x arthur fic called 'Idumea' in the works for a while. it's entirely based on the house just outside saint denis with the oranges and i've had the intro written for a while. i'd love to share it at some point because i do think its some of my best work and considering i loved arthur before anyone else, i think i have his character down. even though it's honestly kinda hard to emulate his manners and personality through writing. maybe someday i'll get enough of it written to share it, although it was initially going to be a super big project!! life just kinda fell away from me, and at some point, i stopped writing it. it's always on my mind though.

TOUCHSTARVED Updated Demo Shtuff

[SPOILERS] Anyone feeling a bit unsure about some of the changes to the demo?

Honestly, idk how to feel about the changes to Leander's dialogue and personality... but I want to play the whole thing a few times before really formulating an opinion. We're naturally going to be somewhat resistant to change when it comes to things that work, and I don't want to be too biased.

For now, I guess I'll say that I really liked the new area that the main character gets to explore with Kuras... ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈♡) ... That was a nice change of scenery, for sure. Very beautiful drawing.

Also, the Hound backstory is gone! That's so incredibly sad! I've been designing an MC and that backstory was the best for them :(( I'm probably going to use it anyway, tbh... There was so much potential to it...

Current minor gripes:

The game continues to imply that the MC is shorter than the cast sometimes, which can be a bit eh...

I think the editor may have forgotten that the MC sleeps the entire day away after meeting Leander. There's some points where the game acts as though everything is still happening on the same day. That is, unless I'm actually blind.

If Mhin is from somewhere else, as Kuras implies in his route, but Mhin outright states that they grew up in Eridia when you first meet them in the new version, why doesn't the MC notice that when talking to Kuras? Either Mhin is lying about their origins to both the MC and Kuras, or they've told Kuras one thing and the MC another, or it's an error. Anyone else notice this?

The NECK description for that lowlife guy, man. It wasn't great before (my thighs are massive lmaooo - dude would be built like a one piece character), but I don't think it's great now, either. I honestly think they should just show that the guy is an imposing figure through other means. They continue to imply that Ais is taller, but this guy can't be?

Mhin deserved more :( I liked their intro, but... idk... I would have liked more? (Ｔ▽Ｔ)

Nvm I decided to add most of what I feel here:

I guess there is one thing I find odd about the characterization of Leander, and it's all the little moments that we've lost. Like the moment where the Bloodhounds (now Adderstones (?)) get angry at the MC for bringing up the Senobium. Leander didn't act until they looked to him for help, but in this one, he simply gets up and takes the MC outside. Hrm...

Overall, they seem to have made him more earnest and a bit more straightforward, likely to lull the player and the MC into thinking he's harmless, but after all the advertising... all that marketing basically confirming that he's a real piece of work... I dunno. I think it could've been more subtle?? Like in the previous demo?? His cheerful and flirty attitude, which is muted in the updated demo until later, is what almost got me in the previous version of the game. I wasn't completely suspicious. It kept me guessing.

Now, I just see through every gesture. That scene we get with him at the end of his route thus, and please forgive my language, freaked me the absolute fuck out. Had the game not shoved it in your face that he's a Bad Guy so much, I feel as though I wouldn't have immediately panicked when he locked the door. I'm likely to get a bad end with him because I'm so cautious now, tbh. Whoops lmao. Like, okay, anyone can get away with a few comments (the leash one was wild), and MC does question him a bit after all that manipulation, but surely a situation like THAT is bound to be more alarming to a person? Especially after so many near death experiences and meeting so many shady people? Is my preference for a slower pace, like in the other routes, making me a bit of a dingus?

There's a real good moment, though, and it's after the MC shows Leander their curse. He asks their name. Suddenly, after revealing what could be a weapon against the Senobium, you become a person of interest to him. Although, person might be a stretch. As such, I kind of understand these changes. He's the reassuring, trustworthy guy in a sea of assholes. Guy wants to isolate you as soon as possible so that you'll become reliant on him and only him, and what better way to do that than giving the MC what they so desperately crave while they incur debt after debt? I just... I wish they hadn't jumped the gun so fast?

Anyway, these are all my thoughts. Leander's route was still enjoyable for the most part haha. It really shows the kind of person he is. I haven't felt that unnerved by a character in a while!

I dunno! It's my first playthrough, so my opinion is liable to change. I'd love to hear other people's thoughts, too.

askfgsaf you're probably right (referencing this) and for those who are wondering, I basically feel semi responsible for keeping landoscar rpf from crossing boundaries bc I've written so much abt them for so long - so once in a while I'll post reminders that the fandom doesn't welcome delusional ppl and we don't allow girlfriend hate etc pls just ignore if you're like wtf is this bitch talking about

bc the problem is not that people outside fandom use ship names publicly like Oscar very tentatively did yesterday - one of Daniel’s first orders of business on camera with Lando was to (jokingly) declare landan would be superior to carlando. Carlos, Lando, Adam (Lando's dad), McLaren, Netflix, every sponsor for F1 and F1’s official accounts themselves use carlando's ship name and content for engagement. (in fact McLaren almost never use the term 'landoscar' at all but still 'carlando' many times up to the current day) tbh it's actually more common for drivers to big up their bromances than to be like Lando and Oscar who have never gone that route outside of McLaren's usual PR stuff (which has also been wayyyy below the amount they did for Carlos and Daniel). it's actually been kind of nice that they drew that boundary of not sharing their time together outside of work beyond a passing mention and they don't do any gay chicken or overly PDA for fans that yes I personally love but that can lead certain ppl into thinking it's legit romantic/sexual. and that Lily (and Lando's dating/romantic/night life asflgsafja) are so visible and present bc we haven't had to deal with the whole pipeline of rpf delulu invading the ship. we got ahead of all that crazy.

and the problem is not even just when fans use the ship names outside fandom bc often the drivers themselves or people around them bait for it. the vast majority of people (including the drivers) think ship names/bromances are all a fun joke or at it's most serious it's just reflective of their real life platonic friendship/brotherliness etc. most of the popular usage has no sexual/romantic intent at all.

The Problem !! is fans crossing very clear boundaries !! and those are

being overly, grossly sexual (read the room type thing) or being pushy about the ship to the drivers involved (or their friends, families, teams) pushy meaning things like "admit it, driver name is closer to driver x than driver y" "we want pics/content of ship name" "we all know ship x is superior to ship y" "driver x prefers driver y over his own girlfriend" or top voting comments about a ship that has nothing to do with the post at all

deciding the ship is "real" (or “if it weren't for homophobia they would be together right now”) and becoming obsessive/pushing an agenda that always includes pretending that girlfriends and wives are fake or PR or beards or horrible witches controlling the poor weak white male millionaire athlete. sometimes with a side of thinking that teams are involved in the big gay cover up by "hiring/arranging" girlfriends for the drivers (when the teams can't even keep scandals about their own staff locked down alfhgsalfj trust me if a driver was closeted, he and his management alone would be taking care of that cover up and they'd NEVER risk telling teams who have rotating staff and who the driver will probably leave at some point anyway)

and the consequences of fans crossing those boundaries are

if you actively try to push a celebrity to come out then either way it will absolutely not happen, regardless of what their real sexuality is - and if you insinuate too heavily then they will probably double down on their heterosexuality to shut you up (again, regardless of their real sexuality so it doesn't matter either way!)

if you push a bromance ship too hard or publicly present it too seriously then it WILL backfire and at best your fandom is fucked until things calm down - at worst those two people might very possibly want to avoid each other because of the unwelcome insinuations and invasiveness. and if you abuse girlfriends/wives as part of it then you'll get an even angrier reaction (yes this is partly included in Lando's story about the breakup with Lu and the hate she got)

even drivers who play gay for jokes have certain limits - Daniel was at least partly genuinely concerned that people thought he was actually dating Max at one point. Carlos was openly disturbed by fans in a 2019/20? livestream who told him to kiss Lando and he pointedly told them they were very very weird in a not at all amused voice. and three of these men were in serious relationships with women at the time those things happened.

and the thing is with landoscar, Lando and Oscar don't do gay stuff as a joke at ALL and they genuinely take a gender neutral line in discussing theoretical dating and romance questions. that could easily be them just being progressive! it doesn’t mean anything that we as strangers can publicly claim about them and definitely not TO them! and specifically with Oscar, we really don’t know his feelings in terms of fans saying even jokey sexual stuff to him but I would personally say err on not doing it too hard. he's not a prude at all but he's absolutely not publicly raunchy or suggestive to a degree a lot of the drivers are. (I'd also like to say mayyyybe even back off of the Lily stuff directly to him, or at least don't get too comfy about it? idk it's been getting a bit much and he's clear about not wanting that part of his life discussed openly. getting weird how ppl keep demanding photos of her under his posts likeeee she's not a commodity ok!)

I usually say how we in landoscar fandom adore Lily - which we do! - but fuck it, even if Oscar or Lando were dating/seeing someone problematic or that we didn’t adore (!!hint!!) it is STILL not justification for pretending Lando and Oscar are in a secret gay relationship and that the woman they're with is just a cover-up/fake. like yes we all happen to love Lily but our respect for her as a human being and the boundaries between ourselves and her isn’t contingent on affection !! it's basic human respect and healthy boundaries !!

it's why I stick to tumblr and discord for really going off w rpf. even if someone tried to share any of it we know damn well none of the drivers will follow an unsolicited tumblr link (idk maybe Fernando might not know but I doubt he goes anywhere near social media DMs aslfgsalj)

but yea I think fandom overall can keep those people who cross boundaries mostly under control without getting into any fandom police bs. we can all go stupid in explicitly fandom spaces like tumblr ao3 etc but anywhere a driver or someone close to them could stumble upon easily it's worth a quick polite word of advice to ppl who are definitely going too far <3

I've been thinking about what would happen if the reader had a baby, like would they take the reader and leave the baby or take the reader and the baby. If they did take the baby what would happen, would they be mean to the baby, nice to the baby, or just distance. Would they become a platonic yandere. Hoo boy you've handed me a rough one, huh? I don't think Croc is a kids guy. But I don't think he'd be outright horrible to a small, unthreatening child- if not because of standards, but because it just isn't worth his time or energy to direct actual hatred toward. Yes, he was willing to destroy a whole country and hundreds of lives which no doubt included children, but I think that degree of faceless separation is very different from looking at a kid directly and going "Yeah I'm gonna kill this. Personally. With my hands." Vivi was 16 and Luffy was 17 iirc but one is an important opposing political figure with crucial information on his misdeeds, and Luffy... is Luffy. Idk. What I'm saying is at the very least I don't see him being abusive or disposing of the child- he does like you, and that's a pretty surefire way to destroy you and any reason you have to cooperate.

It could be a "cooperate and your child remains happy/unharmed" situation but tbh I don't wanna write that. Child abuse is a topic I'm willing to touch on in specific circumstances, mostly backstory but I don't really want to write about canon characters doing it. So I simply won't lol. Reader inserts can be held against their will and mistreated but I don't want to involve a kid in that dynamic, so if I write something where the reader is caring for a kid (such as Galley on 4th) then the yandere in question does things through much softer more under-handed methods.

Honestly? The best way I see this working out is Pre-Alabasta arc where Crocodile is still seen as a hero by the masses. There's a good chance that, at least initially, his affections start and end with you. Is irritated if he finds out about the kid after he's decided that he likes you. But you- you're a little slice of domesticity, you fit into his life rather nicely, he thinks. Plus you and the brat help round out his image as a wholesome do-gooder, don't you? A protector of the people, and a loving husband and father to boot. The... dark parts of his business all swept under the rug and kept away from you both, of course.

His dates with you are no doubt extravagant, but he prefers your kid not accompany the two of you on these. Probably prefers to shower them in expensive gifts, rather than spend much one-on-one time with them. I think he could get attached but he'd be in denial about it for a bit. He's able to rationalize the lack of time spent with them to you, specifically in public- he's a notable figure, is he not? While he's a Warlord and could no doubt protect the both of you(his pride will NOT have you believe otherwise), he just doesn't want the risk. You're an adult with full comprehension of the possibility of being targeted, so it's different. He is a good actor, though. While he doesn't spend as much time with the kid, he's good enough that they don't feel actively disliked. A bit... put out, maybe. It's possible your kid just... thinks he's really cool, despite it. Mysterious, close yet distant, someone who makes mom happy and is the reason they both have all this nice stuff, now. Which can be annoying, but stroking the ego doesn't hurt the kid's case. Liking the bananawanis would score them a couple points too...

BNHA Chapter 425 - Thoughts

So I guess Hori did decide to just skip the end of the battle, my hospital academia and go straight to UA graduation?

It was teased back in Ch 360, so yeah it needed to happen and it seems like drawing Neijire is a special happy place for Hori (also the sketch he couldn't even wait until Sunday to drop, lol)

Mic DJ-ing right after ShiraGiri's death is sort of odd, but on top of the gags, there are some more serious moments.

What stood out to me was Mirio's comment about how the heroes' fight "is always for the sake of returning the negatives to zero on the whole." It reminded me of Ch 341 - The Story of how We All Became Heroes Minus ① which featured Touya, Toga, Spinner and of course Tomura suffering the transformation. So I can't help but feel it's related to the LoV's fate.

The class is together 😭 crying like a proud parent (whose tumblr handle just became obsolete).... and Aizawa is staying. Yay. After 400+ chapters they made it to second year!!!

Bakugou omg, out of the hospital in a tie which he somehow tied with one hand, being calm... (it's still odd to the others? - but I guess his apology happened like 3 weeks ago in-verse). It seems like he might end up with a scar, just like Izuku (and it's a bit like Kudou's, of course).

Aoyama leaving - I talked about this in one of the asks, but for me it's ok that it's his choice being respected and that the class clearly would be happy to have him stay. Though I wonder if his parents are just suddenly given amnesty for being "AFO's victims" and what that may mean for other villains.

Shinsou joins Class A long at last. Yay! Is he going to get Aoyama's room or join the 5th floor boys? I do wonder if the kids are still in the dorms even.

The Fuwa-stans are getting fed. But Class 2-A (can't get used to this...) will take a year long field trip around Japan. Reminds me of the 100 million tour newpaper sketches.

I liked Shoto mentioning AFO - how he was born in an era of turmoil (which I read as him saying that preventing the rise of such villains is now). It also seems to contradict what All Might said last chapter about Deku already being the greatest hero to everyone.

But also Shouto speaks. Normal speech bubbles. Has a normal voice! Yay! (still don't get it why he didn't speak in Ch 422 though)

Izuku looks troubled. Either because of what Shouto said or because of Fuwa senpai's comments about needing to experience a sudden death to understand why you'd want to be a hero. He certainly is not ready to run celebratory circles.

Watch them all walk together (TDBK covered by Iida's speech bubble, but I recognize them from Shouto's messenger bag and Katsuki's loose pants)

OMG, these guys are a total disaster. I don't know what Deku wanted to say, but Ochako obviously shut him down (and thought it was about her "let him rest" speech which apparently the class keeps teasing her for). Also Hori is using her to explain Deku's haircut.

And here, she looks weirdly happy compared to last time, but it could be just a front...

Todoroki looks hopeful but not sure if it's genuine (it could be putting on a front to stop Izuku from worrying). But his foot is like when he went to see his mom the first time, so I tend to read that right now as a good sign.

From the context and framing it's clear that it's Touya. For now alive. Endeavor is finally keeping his promise and is watching.

And the editorial blurb also suggests we may get Hellish Todoroki Family 3 after the two weeks break. I'm very worried, but also since we are strapping in for a longer epilogue it seems, I don't expect things to go smoothly for them just yet.

it was a constant theme that you were reminded of day after day

playing games with your older brothers was always fun

as long as the game didn't involve the players being first, second, or third

those games would always end the same

Falena was very talented, so wins and first place was almost always handed to him naturally

Leona would always try as hard as he could to beat Falena, but always had to settle for second

and you never had any chance trying to catch up to their abilities

they were much older, and much better at games

so you would always be deemed last place or the loser of every game

and after each game, the servants would talk

"Did you see? Prince Leona got second place again. He's no match for Prince Falena. He never wins against him."

"Yeah, well at least Leona can keep up with Falena and put up a bit of a fight."

you'd keep trying, but it never made much of a difference with him

eventually, Falena was crowned king and even got married and had a kid

so he had other, more important things to do than spend time with you

it was heartbreaking, but it's not like you could spend much time with him anyway since you were going to Night Raven College

but at least Leona was still at the school with you

you two were even in Savanaclaw together

you had hoped that you could still spend a little bit of time with Leona since you no longer had Falena to hang out with

but he no longer had time for you

whenever you asked about hanging out with him or playing a game of chess (which you know he loves), he would always say he was busy

everyone in the dorm knows he spends most of his time sleeping

the only times he wasn't sleeping was when he was practicing spelldrive

so, you decided to ask one last time

it was later in the day when you found him by Savanaclaw's pool

a nice relaxing environment meant he would be in a better mood

but you knew better than to get your hopes up

you asked if he was up for a game of chess and even offered to set it up

and all you got in response was a no

of course he would turn you away again

you just had to ask

but that's over now and you're on your own

occasionally you would see him around Savanaclaw and pass by him, but he never even glanced your way

it was almost like you didn't even exist to him

you might as well not have been a Kingscholar anymore

but then you started seeing him around less

the spelldrive tournament was around the corner, he was most likely practicing

you used to go watch him as he played and cheer him on

...but he probably doesn't want you there anymore

actually, you could probably go to watch the other teams

Leona probably wouldn't notice if you were there anyway

Diasomnia has been playing very well these past few years, so it might be fun to watch them

so on the day of the tournament, you went to watch the games

since Diasomnia won last year, they would be up for the first game

but as the announcer started to introduce Diasomnia onto the field, the crowd around you started acting up and rushing towards the team

it was mass panic and everyone was screaming and stampeding towards the entrance of the coliseum

you got up and started to move with them, against your own will

no matter how much you tried to fight it, your body seemed to move on it's own

but you've been in Savanaclaw long enough to know who's magic this is

how Ruggie was able to control and entire stadium of people, you had no idea

but you turned to try and get back into the coliseum as soon as the spell wore off

the crowd was thick and it was hard to push through, but you had to

if the people were all being herded like sheep, something bad is happening

as you pushed through, a heavy aura of magic flooded the air

someone was certainly using a lot of magic in there

you finally made it to the entrance of the coliseum

standing in the field was Leona covering in blot and fighting many Heartslabyul students

even now, he was looking down upon everyone in front of him with such hatred and anger

not even Ruggie was spared from his attacks

but you got there just as the battle was ending, and Leona was defeated

the blot left his system and he collapsed to the ground

he was fine

for a brief moment, Ruggie saw you and stared

but Leona wouldn't want you here, even now

so you left without a word

you didn't end up going back to the tournament after that, but it went well from what you heard

Savanaclaw even made it pretty far considering everything that happened

Cheka ended up finding you after it all and you got to play with the little cub

to be honest it was a lot of fun, probably the most you've had in a while

sadly, he left you after a while to go find Leona

the days followed after that were pretty normal

...except for the fact that Ruggie was following you around more

he watched whatever you did throughout the day, and then left

but the one day he didn't follow you, you found Leona waiting for you in Savanaclaw with a chess game set up, and waiting for another player

He’s very helpful, well, at most times. He likes to be playful mostly when you need help, in cases were it wasn’t serious, but in this one, he simply smiled as he went towards you and started unzipping the dress

“Uh Wataru? I said i needed help with zipping it..not..the opposite..”

Wataru simply laughed and zipped it, letting you admire yourself for a bit as he wrapped his arms around you

Keito Hasumi

He simply goes towards you and helps you out. He’s really not interested in anything else so your attempts to “seduce” him are not going to work so easily. Keito is a very reserved man and doesn’t get bothered at ‘insignificant things’, or does he? This time however, as he made his way towards you, your outfit caught him off guard, it was the one you had worn during your first date after being together for 3 years, he felt himself tear up as he looked at you

Rinne Amagi

Somewhat similar to Wataru’s except…well he’s Rinne, what do you expect? He had suggested a date for all his hard work with Crazy B and the tough week they’ve had, of course, he reserved a decent restaurant down the street, nothing too formal, but still enough to impress. While you were having trouble with the zipper of your clothes, he decided to approach you after your “cry for help” which was just a simple statement for assistance, as Rinne entered the room, he whistled, checking you out and hastily unzipping your outfit

“Rinne..! I said i needed help zipping it, not unzipping and taking it off my body..”

He all but chuckled as he turned you around

“Who said anything about going out? Actually, i might cancel or we do have a bit of time before it, no? I seriously cannot resist you a minute longer, c’mon~! Let’s have some fun, okay?”

He’s used to helping you get into anything he crafts, whether its a dress or a shirt he made thinking about you, he’s used to helping you put your outfits on if they require assistance. This was one of those days where Shu had finished another beautiful creation of his and decided to lend you a hand, zipping it carefully and taking one look in the mirror as he saw you admire yourself once more

He’s so sweet and helps you even when you don’t require any assistance, he’s just like that. A charming and caring boyfriend like Chiaki always makes sure you’re well, in every aspect. So it’s not rare for him to help you always, this time, when he heard you, he was just around the corner, rushing softly to your shared room and smiling as he saw the outfit, it was one of his favorites. Chiaki placed his hands on your shoulders after helping you out and spoke

Used to formal attire that requires assistance, especially from their loving partner who Nagisa loves seeing them in such outfits; like today. Nagisa had a rather important event with Eden, and he was allowed to bring a plus one, like usual, and of course he always brings his partner to these. After hearing your call for assistance, Ran didn’t hesitate to go to your shared room, taking in the beautiful outfit you wore as he smiled brightly

“Of course my dear, anything you need me to do..I’ll help you. How about we go for dinner after the event? I’ll make sure to reserve us a nice table ahead”

However, it’s not usual for you to request his help, when he entered your room, his flirtatious persona became into a nervous one, the outfit you wore was absolutely stunning, accentuating your features and leaving him breathless. He tried keeping his calm and helped you, thats what he came for after all right?

OKAY SO. Obviously the biggest hit of this chapter comes at the very end, when it's revealed that the entire story we've been following wasn't actually real, and this whole time we've just been reading an episode of a TV show that was entirely computer-generated. Of course, this comic was still made by real artists, because the technology to AI generate photos didn't exist all the way back in 1999 (thank god).

Had I read this comic maybe 4, 5 years ago, I would've probably just been like "oh huh. that's neat." and moved on. But reading this story now, in the year 2025??? Holy shit dude. The accuracy with which they approach the topic of AI art in this story is lowkey terrifying. You're telling me that Ducklas fucking Styvesant can grasp the concept of why AI art would be wrong in the year 1999, and we somehow have people in MODERN DAY that can't grasp why people are against it? 😭

This is another one of those scenarios where you read sci-fi media from the past that's exploring some kind of existential threat, in this case the existence of entirely machine-generated "art", and it's explored as some kind of scary far off "what if" scenario, but yet again we're brought face to face with the fact that this is actually happening NOW. Like NOW now. This comic predicted that computer generated shows would be a newly emerging technology in 2255, that makes us almost 230 years ahead of schedule in the real world. AND I THINK THAT'S FUCKIN CRAZY!!!!

If we're gonna go the route of making all the sci-fi horrors of PKNA into real world things can we at least get an Uno first? I would much prefer him existing over the AI slop that's all over google images now, thanks xoxo.

Fighting with Minghao was never fun because you both got super emotionally invested in your fights. When you got home you were a little surprised to find polaroids "hidden" around your shared home. With sticky notes explaining each picture or reasons why he loved you. After finding about five Polaroids you couldn't help but feel tears fall down your cheeks. You realized Minghao was feeling a similar way to the fight and this was his way of saying "I don't want to fight anymore because look what we have, it's good." You found a few more before you realized he was right behind you with a soft smile. He had been following you around since you got there but you were so caught up in memory lane you didn't realize. "hey," he whispered while grabbing your hands. "I'm sorry," you whispered while pulling him into a hug. "I'm sorry too," he whispered back before kissing the top of your head. "can we take more Polaroids soon?" This caused him to giggle before agreeing.

ive tried both and i think i prefer handwritten notes, however they both have their pros and cons:

handwritten pros

proven to be better for retaining information

can't get distracted by other tabs

lighter to carry

costs less than a laptop

i've had some classes where we weren't allowed to use laptops so it's good to already be used to taking notes this way

cons:

much slower. sometimes i find im missing stuff and i have to go back to it at the end

have to print out diagrams etc if u want to include them

could possibly lose them, spill something etc

not enough space on desk for both laptop and notebook so u can't get slides up or google something

digital pros:

much quicker

easier to organise & pull up different notes at any time - u don't need to carry around or find older notebooks to be able to study or refer back to past classes

some people make notes directly onto the slides which u would have to print out if u wanted to do by hand

can also use for research and writing essays which u will need a computer for at some point so might as well do everything in one place

cons:

expensive

more stressful if u lose or break it

if u forget to charge it and u don't have paper .......

this upcoming year, im using a combination. most of the time i'll handwrite my notes, but for classes where they talk too quickly i'll type them (it's not worth the stress & extra time having to go back to recordings after). my notes for readings will be annotated straight onto the pdf. i'll be taking pictures of notes to put them all together.

unfortunately, i think it is because you'll need computer access to research and write ur essays, as well as to find course information etc. HOWEVER some universities (most?) have laptops that u can borrow and computers in the library, so if u know that you'll be motivated enough to get up and do all of ur work on campus, you could save this cost - bare in mind when u move off campus after first year it might be even harder. definitely look into this if cost is an issue for you! it doesn't need to be a fancy one if u do buy a laptop though, just remember u'll be carrying it around so don't get a super heavy one!

as for something i wish i'd done differently: as a sociology student, none of my classes have exams where i have to memorise things, instead it's all essay based. this led me to not 'study' i guess ??? like the stuff that i wrote my essays on, i knew like the back of my hand, but everything else i couldn't remember well. so if ur taking an essay based subject, remember that u still need to study a little & remember these things !! i was so overwhelmed tbh that i forgot about this oopsie!

when people say that after u skip one class, u'll skip the rest THEY. MEAN. IT. literally try so hard not to miss class bc you will never go again if u do. my classes would start off with not enough seats for everybody and end up with just a handful of us by the end of term.....

make time for urself !! it can become all consuming, especially if u live on campus, but pls make some dedicated time away from studying !!

u will find ur friends eventually. pls remember that it won't last or be that fun if u stick with friends who u don't have that much in common with just bc they were the first u met. tell me why i was going to bars and clubs with people in first term bc that;s what they wanted to do ????? it's ok to move onto different people bc u will eventually get tired of doing these things u don't like just to be able to hang out with people !! now i go to bookstores and cafes with my new friends and i love it!! don't settle !!

Nahida banner is going to run soon and i wanted to talk about her and her pros and cons if you're deciding to wish for her or not. i have both heavily invested c2 nahida who is top 8% on field builds on akasha and f2p no cons horrible support build nahida, so i can talk about different levels of investment.

her pros:

best dendro application in the game with 100% uptime.

sharing of up to 250 EM to on field character, which is very good buff to spread or aggravate carries.

she has insane AOE, you can tag entire room of enemies from far away and they will be dying passively, just from nahida's dot, which is very nice for single-target teams like hyperbloom or nilou teams that can't have grouping.

her less known pro is that she can have very good personal damage if well built, like alhaitham is called "top 3 dps" and my nahida does more damage than my alhaitham on field. the reason alhaitham is even viable is bc nahida is a tiny radish with short legs and is very clumsy to run, dash and attack.

but if you don't want her to do personal damage, she is perfectly functional with purely support build too, which is very easy and quick to get, and with 3 star weapon.

her cons are really good, and her c2 makes any dendro team insane

her banner will have xingqiu and kuki, and with nahida this is a ready made hyperbloom core that will clear one side of the abyss with minimum investment. or any content, to be clear, like if you dont care about abyss, this is a boss killer team.

overall, universal dendro support who can slot into almost any dendro team and has considerable to great personal damage.

her cons:

her insane dendro application is actually too thick and it will overrun other elements, which is very relevant for aggravate teams. you can't swirl electro thru nahida's E, so if enemy didn't die in one rotation, then on second rotation you're swirling leaf and your electro dps will not get damage buff.

another con is that she tags specific enemies, so if you kill a wave and the next wave appears, she needs to come back on field to tag them again. this is a problem for characters like cyno who do damage in long infusion state, he cannot switch to nahida without losing that infusion. characters like baizhu would be more comfortable for this.

as i already said, short child model is clumsy to use on field

her alternatives:

for kinich she doesn't do anything at all, he can be either solo dendro or work with emily

for dendro teams with furina, baizhu is preferred as a healer who can quickly stack fanfare

for nilou, she's still best in slot and tbh nilou with nahida and nilou without nahida is very much night and day, but even so, nilou has enough other option that she will be okay without nahida, with like, yao yao, baizhu, dendro traveler, kirara, tho AOE will tank significantly.

overall, in other dendro teams like spread, aggravate, hyperbloom, burgeon, you can use options like baizhu, yao yao, dendro traveler, kirara. they will have less application and AOE will drop to almost single target, but it will be functional

TLDR:

is nahida still meta? YES. she's still the most universal dendro support and the BEST, arguably only true consistent off field AOE dendro applicator who is not reliant on burst.

is she must pull? no, if you don't want to. when she just came out and there were almost no dendro characters, she was, but now we have enough options, both premium and 4 star, to slot into dendro teams instead of nahida and be functional.

get nahida if you like her and you want strongest AOE dendro support that you can use in almost any dendro teams, but don't feel pressured.

EDIT: if u want to vertically invest in nahida, get her cons, as i already said, her c2 is insane. do NOT get her weapon, its mid as fuck. for damage build yae's kagura is her best option, or any dmg oriented catalyst like widsith or lost prayer. for support, 4 star EM sac frags is about as good, and even 3 star magic guide will work.

EDIT2:

yes, you can use it as a support weapon, esp in nilou teams it'll be good. it's not bad support option if you happen to get it, its just not worth going for specifically. about nahida cons, i would advise to first trying your teams with c0 nahida bc this is more than enough. if nilou and nahida team doesnt feel like it doing damage, i would first look into rotations and if you have EM on the correct character, bc in bloom its crucial to know who will be the trigger

I have 6 works. Rookie numbers ik. But I do have some (less than ideal) fics on wattpad, too. I started there and only joined ao3 a few years ago. I originally intended to only use ao3 to read fics, but then I started writing again and decided that it was much better to use than wattpad 😅.

OF COURSE I DO! Any feedback is welcome, and I would like to share my appreciation for the reader who decided to comment on my fics. Sometimes I don't because at the time I probably couldn't think of anything. But that doesn't happen very often, I'd just respond with a "thank you" of some kind at the very least.

6) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

None so far. Sorry to disappoint. I have a track record of never finishing fics. Although if I were it wouldn't happen very often. Depending on the ship.

7) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Again, none so far. Though I hope that Two Crows and Their Nest will have the happiest ending I can come up with. You'll just have to wait and see 😉✨️

8) Do you get hate on fics?

No. Not that I can remember. Most of my earlier stuff is on wattpad so I genuinely can't remember what's happened on those; I barely touch the app unless reading my own old ass fics just to poke fun at 12 year old me, so.

And I tend to get very nice feedback from both tumblr and ao3. Which I am very thankful for <3

9) Do you write smut?

I have tried in the past. I have in the past. Though I wouldn't call it smut by ao3's standards. I wrote it on wattpad.

10) Do you write crossovers?

No. I don't read them either. It makes my brain itch in a very unsatisfactory way.

11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Nope. Not to my knowledge. If I have, it'd probably be from my old wattpad fics. But why the heck would you nick one of those 💀

12) Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nope! I'm not out there enough for that to happen.

13) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

Technically. I have a Star Trek wip that me and @snek-of-eden are- were writing. And I asked them to beta read it for me, and then they ended up helping me write some things too. Which I thank them for still! If I ever finish it and upload it I was planning on adding them as a cowriter for the fic because it's true. I don't want to overshadow them seen as in they are equally just as much the writer as I am.

14) What's your all-time favourite ship?

I'd have to say I don't have one. Specifically. I have a preferred ship from whichever fandom I'm currently wanting to read/write from. Right now, I'd say Lucanis Dellamorte/Male Rook. But I am also in the market for some Bloodweave (Astarion/Gale bg3)!

15) What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

The Star Trek one. I made my own species/planet and everything! It's the most indepth I've ever gotten into the "How's & Why's" of a fic I wanted to write. And I love it! I just don't feel like writing for that fandom rn, and I'm just scared I'm gonna abandon said fic 😔

16) What are your writing strengths?

I have been told on multiple occasions that I "have such a way with words" and personally I think I'm pretty good at describing things. More specifically people; like their eyes, or their minute details in their faces. Something like that. I'd also maybe say characters emotions? I'm not the best at those irl so I'm not sure I use the correct words or the words correctly.

17) What are your writing weaknesses?

I tend to use a lot of the same words; "and", "says", "asks", etc. I also tend to use commas like far too much. Especially in my current fic 💀 (I'm so sorry)

18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

GOD YES! PLEASE! I eat that up! I love a bit of Spanish, or French, or German, or heck even Icelandic! (I have read fics with all of these languages sprinkled in here and there)

19) First fandom you wrote for?

Batman. More specifically, Batman/Joker. No. I will not elaborate.

20) Favourite fic you've ever written?

THE ONE IM CURRENTLY WRITING!!!! I am foaming at the mouth with these two (Lucanis/Velasco (My Crow Rook))! Someone put me down! 🫠

for sake of navigation I'm going in the order I drew them, and the order theyre in on the above image heart emoji.

"Virion" Vyncent Sol up first!! also can we talk about how his hero name is straight up just his name. lol. lmao even.

I HAD THE MOST PLAN FOR VYNCENT GOING IN TBH I wanted something similiar to the origami outfit while still staying reminiscent of his old outfit

I knew I wanted the jacket and I went with the turtleneck so it was the same as Jason's outfit. also Jason has really cool glove sleeve things I thought that was so fucking cool guys. and vyncent is generally from an actual outfit standpoint like... really simplistic? so just ourple pants and boots seemed most logical. I liked the mask and it was in both of his old designs so I decided to stick with it.

and then of course. the belts. there are ten total belts on his outfit jot including the two that would come with the sheath LMAO. plus the two pd colored belts on his boots!! I decided while drawing I wanted them all to have something in eachothers colors cause thats really cute.

i MUCHHH prefer the shorter jacket because of how it shows off the outfit and is reminiscent of his s2 post fauna design . . .

generally had the most idea going into his so there was very little in ways of additional sketching

also the Japanese where Jason's jacket had said Origami straight up just says Knife. I thought that was so funny. ENTIRELY ACCIDENTAL THING his outfit is basically just cantrips but colors flipped LMAO

BUT THATS ALL FOR VYNCENT. next up is (drum roll please)

"Wisperer" William Wisp!!! El wiwi himself. OKAY SO AS YOU MAY NOTICE. THIS IS DIFFERENT THAN THE DESIGN I ORIGINALLY POSTED. I had Not been happy with that one because it felt too cluttered and a little out of character so I ended up redesigning his jacket and redrawing the refs.

WILLIAMS OUTFIT WAS REALLY FUN THO I ended up going with a gas mask like he had in the greyscale arc, hoodie (which will get its own paragraph), cargo pants!! for his cargo and gadgets and gizmos, and then. because it's me and he's william. platformish boots laced with the orlther pds colors.

the hoodie was the thing I had changed in the new design because the old design wasn't william wisp enough for me yknow

i wnjoyed the outfit and it looked really need but it was much more complicated than his original hero suit and didn't really seem like smthn he'd design and wear.

i really liked the wisp belt and wanted to keep that wisp motif, which is why I ended up putting the flames on his sleeves! it looks cool as hell and keeps w the flame designs. IM ALSO SUPER ATTACHED TO THE WISPERER W THAT WAS ON HIS ORIGINAL HERO DESIGN.... so the hoodie has a stylized w.

also dakota and vyncent beads :)

I CHANGED THE LEAST ABOUT HIS DESIGN HONESTLY. it was very nice to just get to draw Dakota though :)

the most I changed was I made it a bit simpler, and changed the jacket to be more like the Hexpert armor

also made the zipper look like her weird chest thingy....

I REALLY DISLIKE THE SHOES AND THE LITTLE BITS ON HIS ANKLES THOUGH. SO I CHANGED EM. they're now his thing in the others color heart emoji. I'd like to think they all sat down together and brainstormed ways to encorperate eachother into their costumes.....

i also made a little note of the back of hia jacket and I tried to make it look like a jersey

Please bear with me, this my very personal, very complicated life story. So...me and my partner, we've been in a very intense public relationship for 7-8 years. We work for the same firm and our employer is uber supportive of our relationship, so much so that we are on every poster of our office's "traits of the perfect colleague couples".

So anyways, we decided to quit our jobs. I've been working on my thing and my boyfriend his own. Now even though technically we should've been living together since we've been in a relationship for so long, but we don't. And since I was busy with my new business venture, I decided to take a break from my very loving relationship bcs we were so much in love that we weren't able to bear the insurmountable level of love we were throwing at each other(ik it makes no sense but that's how I roll🤷🏻‍♂️). Now my boyfriend is an influencer and busy with his own projects but he started missing me something fierce. Like he used to go on insta lives and look all mopey and depressed bcs I had not even been talking to him. Well you can argue that he could've called/ft me himself or even came over to my workplace or home but he instead chose to beg me to do joint lives infront of his millions of followers. Instead of texting me, he would ask me to come to my place infront of his followers. And now I did understand that he was very desperate for my attention, but I still didn't give him any. I used to hang out with my other buddies all the time but didn't really care about my sad bf to even give him a visit. He did the same tbh so you can't blame only me on this. He has this bff (whom we both despise jfyi), for whom he flies to different continents to be with when the bff is on work sched. Now if he can take such long flights, why can't he drive to see me when we are in the same city? Maybe he prefers flying over driving?? Wow I neve thought of that...that changes everything 😮. Should I relocate?

So anyways, after ignoring his melancholy and yearning for close to a year, I've finally decided to go on some trips with him,with just one catch, our holidays will be recorded and made into a vlog series for his yt channel. I could've chosen the better option of travelling privately, but how would that help us rekindle our romance? Imo the best kind of rekindling is done infront of millions of eyes and atleast 20 crew members who also give us directions on how we interact with e/o, that's my version of couples therapy😌.

Now I've seen some people speculating that he's closer to his bff, based merely on the fact that they'd been closer even before I met them and that that bff (whom we hate with every fibre of our being) and my bf spend a lot of time with each other, time he could've been spending with me, etc etc. And some people even say they can see love brimming in their eyes for each other, which is just plain bs imo.

Now how do I shut those a holes up? The ones who are logically, practically and realistically right about my relationship being nothing but friendship? Also, am I a good boyfriend? Imo I am the best one out there mainly bcs no matter how much I ignore my bf, he still pines over me like a sad alpha 😏

You know, Jasper has no logical reason to claim Call "stole his spot."

Master North said each Master can choose up to 6 apprentices. Rufus had chosen more than 3 in the past. Jasper himself was in a group of 5.

Rufus COULD have chosen Jasper if he wanted to. He just didn't want Jasper. Call has nothing to do with it.

And Japser definitly KNOWS this. But he keeps choosing to blame Call anyway. Because he can't admit to himself that he wasn't good enough. That he "lost."

And he sees Call as an easy target. Jasper desperately needs to feel like someone is below him to make himself feel better. And he figured since Call was the "weird", depressed emo kid with the disability that he would be the best one to do this with.

And tbh I don't think that Tamara and Jasper were ever really friends. Jasper was told to befriend Tamara to get close to her family. Tamara's parents say in book 2 that they don't want Jasper's family around. And Tamara could probably see that Jasper was an asshole long before the Iron Trial.

We don't know when the deWinters lost their money so it's possible that maybe Tamara and Jasper were friends as young kids if Jasper's family still had money at the time, but it doesn't seem like they were friends by the Iron Trial.

And then Tamara ALSO chose Call over him. Because she actually likes Call and actively DEFENDS Call from Jasper. Which Jasper can't comprehend because he's decided to believe Call is worthless. Because if Jasper accepts that Call isn't below him, he loses the only thing keeping his insecurities at bay. He can try to keep overcompensating for them by acting like a self-absorbed brat and pretending he's better than everyone, but that's only going to do so much. Because that is only (in theory) making OTHER people see him as valuable (though this kinda fails because this behavior just makes him come off an ass to most people). To stop HIMSELF from feeling worthless inside, he needs to GENUINELY believe inside that someone else is below him. But Call just keeps proving over and over again that he's not.

And then Aaron is revealed to be a makar, and HE prefers Call too. Jasper feels the need to get close to Aaron because of Aaron's newfound fame and significance, but he already burned that bridge by being an absolute asshole when Aaron was still a "nobody." Whereas Aaron has liked Call the entire time. Since he first saw him at the Iron Trial. Because Aaron could see that Call was struggling and saw the best in him, and helped bring the best out in Call.

So Aaron and Tamara truly, genuinely LIKE Call and dislike Jasper.

And for so long Jasper just DOES NOT understand what the hell is happening because Call is supposed to be worthless and unlikable. So he keeps trying so desperately to make jabs at Call whenever he can.

But eventually he realizes that not only is Call not below him, but Call might actually be a BETTER person than him. Because sure, Call was a jerk in book 1 due to his traumas, but he wasn't a full on brat like Jasper was. Jasper was LOOKING to put people down. Call was just pushing people away. And then Call is able to start healing after befriending Aaron and Tamara and starts to be able to grow as a person, but Jasper stays stagnant.

But eventually he CAN'T deny anymore that Call is not only not worthless, but that Call is actually a good and valuable person who might even be a better person than himself (especially since Call expresses sympathy for Japser even all the way back in book 1 and debates wether or not he's even "allowed" to hate him because he doesn't want to hate someone who's already a victim of something. And Call never really initiates anything with Jasper, he only responds to defend himself from Jasper).

And then Jasper is finally forced to realize that his own sense of self worth shouldn't be tied to other people. He starts deprogramming himself from what his parents told him and LET himself grow as a person as well.

And then Aaron and Tamara and even Call to an extent no longer actively dislike him. They find him annoying, but they don't hate him anymore.

And he finally realizes that just being a good person is more important than what social class you are, and that he's probably more likely to succeed to a higher social class as a good person anyway because people will actually want him around, and the people saving the world actually like having him on their team. And he realizes that as a good person he is actually INVOLVED in making things better and earning that admiration rather than just trying to take advantage of it by getting close to the famous people.
