Hmmm... very interesting to me that Taylor Swift is trending rn and yet for some reason no one in that tag is complaining that her trending is taking away from what's going on in Palestine and what's happening in Rafah. And yet for some reason, people couldn't seem to shut up in the Kendrick Lamar tag when he was trending about how the whole beef was just two celebrities beef (it's much deeper than that) and were making up theories abt how the whole thing was taking attention away from Palestine and everyone talking about it should feel ashamed of themselves (every single account I saw in that tag was posting about Palestine too).

And the thing that's really getting me is that Taylor is trending bc of a change to the Eras tour. An objectively unimportant change to make, especially when compared to what's going on in Rafah. But that's not what gets hate, no, it's the predator getting called out in an industry known for exploitation by one of the biggest artists in said industry. The racism isn't even implicit atp...

milgram au

does this mean anything to anyone. very self indulgent thing of mine. might make a sideblog/fangram for it if anyone would tune into that. Milgram's an interactive music project where you vote innocent or guilty on murderers over the course of three trials (we're in the hiatus between 2 and 3 atp). love these guys. i should actually figure out their murders.

Character design rambling under the cut!

I tried to keep their outfits relatively still in the same world as milgram. Grian was annoying because I thought I could modify the uniform more than I could, and then referenced all Es across the series and realized it really was a uniform and there were a lot of traits shared across all uniforms and therefore integral to milgram prison guard design.

Luckily only main Es had it so i didn't need to put the stupid M on his hat. I also realized that the patterns on the cape wasn't uniform across all (Main Es's lettering vs novel es's laurels) so i put the watcher symbol on there. because Es Grian Watcher audience surrogate and all that. and because I Can. also his cape and little dangly things on his hat are winged shaped for fun.

For the prisoners, I tried to make the restraints generally reference their mc skins. Scott's restrains on the torso are the pattern on his shirt. Pearl's are mostly bs but her hoodie is purposefully tucked into them, unlike Scar, who's cloak is restrained and cannot be removed by him. Martyn's and Cleo's are both meant to just make their white prison outfits look like their skins visually. The same with Joel actually, but his tag is on his neck because imagery. I made a few fangram characters a while ago and i overused the restraints to make very on the nose designs, so i tried to be more restrained(hah) with them when designing these guys. They are all humans so nothing fun with that unfortunately (goodbye space elf scott...)

i’m sorry but the “discourse” between the musical and book/movie fandom is so stupid. i get people get mad when people tag the outsiders to talk about whoever the fuck terrence dipp and beverly jitney-bush are, but there’s also literally a place you can blacklist tags. bright idea, i know. now, i don’t condone people tagging fics about the actors with the outsiders tag, nor do i condone real people fiction because that’s weird and invasive but that’s a discussion for another fine, just wanted to make that clear. but atp it feels like they’re two completely separate fandoms and i guess to a level they should be treated as such. i get that not everyone agrees with ace, or bev, or chet or whoever the hell are actual canon characters, and i do think to a level, they should be tagged separately, but if it bothers you that much, then blacklist the content you don’t wanna see. i’ve done it with plenty of things and it’s completely okay to do. nobody’s gonna be upset with you over it. what it isn’t okay to do is to harass other fans over it. i get it, sometimes it is annoying to see things about all these characters who don’t have anything to do with the actual story on your feed, but again, use the tools provided that were literally made to provide an enjoyable space for you. don’t harass people over it. at the end of the day, it’s the same media. and while i don’t personally wanna write analyses on random background socs, full props and respect to people who do! use that brain of yours, create content, do what makes you happy! but if something bothers you to that point, on BOTH sides because both sides can be immature and obnoxious on occasion, use the block button and the black listing option. it’s not that hard. it’s the same story at the end of the day, it’s not that deep.

Death Stranding is like one of the only games ever where even before it came out, I was like "I have to play this." Mostly bcs of Mads atp tho tbh skajdjfl. But aaaaahhh seriously one of my favorite games ever, it means so much to me. I love all the characters and the vibe and the scenery and the plot and everything. Even four plus years on, I get reminded of it constantly.

Thought lemme note several things I think are good to mention

This game is not for the weak, like you have to be genuinely so patient tbh to play this. Both bcs you literally have to walk everywhere(which can be tedious) and also bcs there are so many cutscenes. I'm not even sure if I could play it nowadays. But once you get into it, it's very meditative and chill, and almost like playing a movie sometimes, like seriously the cutscenes are great.

If you can, you should try and play it around your birthday, bcs there's special easter eggs!! I finished the game on my birthday and the stuff on that day was honestly the highlight of my bday

Did I mention the length of the cutscenes?? It's just funny bcs you'll be playing and then you unexpectedly hit a cutscene and it's like, oh guess I'm watching a movie now(I love it honestly. It makes it feel like Kojima wanted to make a movie, but everyone was like: dude, 7+ hours is TOO long. So he made a game instead.)

It honestly made me so anxious to the point where I'd have to take big breaks. It's not remotely a horror game but there are scary sections which were a bit much for me lmao, so I'd have to listen to music during it(this might just be a me issue tbh.)

This is purely specific to me only but. When I had to listen to music, I ONLY listened to Zaba by Glass Animals(and HTBAHB), so now those songs are forever associated with DS to me. So hey if you wanna have a fun experience, put on some Glass Animals-(I'm kinda sad I never ended up making any art to go with those songs tbh, bcs I still just daydream abt DS when I listen to them.)

A strum then a tap against the fret board, and then another strum, before a full chord comes out, the grunting. Even with your back turned you could see your boyfriend's cute little pout, lips pursed out while bending to write something down on the notepad on the coffee table.

You're heating up cups of tea and coffee for the both of you since he is deemed energetic enough to not stay cooped up in his room and provide you a little show about how he works on his songs. And while you make snacks and a drink the guitar has been playing partially for the past 10 minutes. It isn't a full song, but the humming, half strums and taps to the fretboard with some of his own mumbling and light singing provides the comfiest atmosphere to man. You love watching and hearing Jisung work, always so entrapped in how he concentrates then suddenly lifting his head to smile at you. It turns your heart into mush and would render you wanting to bash your head against the wall because of pure cuteness aggression.

Your Jisungie was one energetic beast. Always running off the walls, dancing around the house, and on a tangent about everything and anything—and it wasn't that you didn't love him for that, but there was just an entirely different vibe when Jisung is in the zone but with your presence in the mix. It's comforting and healing, as Felix would put it.

Putting the plate of warm cookies and your mugs on the small tray, you carry it to the living room and set it down on the coffee table, "Jagiya," you let out in barely a whisper because he has his guitar encased in his arm and eyes closed as if he's pulling some lyrics within the galaxies of inspiration behind those closed eyes. You sit on the velvet armchair right across your couch where he was working, not wanting to invade his personal space.

He smells the coffee and opens his eyes, beaming up at you to see the snacks. "Sweet!" he beams up at you and reaches out to take a cookie, "Baby, what are you doing there? Come sit here," he pats the spot next to him. "Are you sure?" you ask but already stand from your spot.

"Of course! I need some of your powers so that I could think of things," he chuckles, placing a kiss on your cheek immediately right after you sit down, then another on your lips after you set your drink down. You couldn't help but giggle, cupping his face quickly before pressing one last peck on his lips, letting go before settling down on the couch. "What are you working on?"

"I wanna make it sound like, soulful but bridge should have some high point," he visualizes with his hands in front of him, twisting and turning as he interprets it physically, "Like, if a sad song had a happy beat, there's supposed to be a hook that lets it sinks in that it's a sad song," he rambles on, and you nod along, trying your best to revision what he's trying to achieve although you're probably thinking of two different things.

"I have like, a verse and the bridge but it's still missing a whole chorus and two more verses,"

"Well, let's hear what you've got, if it's alright," you request, which makes him look over to you with heart eyes, absolutely smitten by your request as the tips of his ears turn pink, pressing another kiss to your lips. "Okay," he replies before pulling the notepad closer, but you take it and hold it up for him.

"Thank you darling," he smiles before clearing his throat. He strums a few chords, making you sway gently against the fine melody he's making, a bit choppy but not like you could do any better. He starts singing, lyrics still unrhyming but still holding weight, his voice and the chords of the guitar melding properly and you giggle at the sudden dissonance after he plays the wrong chord. He carries on until it's over.

Then a comfortable blanket of silence envelops you both. You set the notepad down and gently clap for him, delight spread all over your features as he chuckles shyly, rubbing the back of his neck. "I think it's starting to sound nice," you honestly say, knowing he hates it when it's a simple 'sounds good,' because he needs to know how it sounds to you. And you love him so much for valuing your opinion because you could be credited for half his work at that point. Which was something both of you often joke about.

"It's like...you know when you listen to a song for the first time not knowing its lyrics so you assume its a happy, acoustic song?" you try to explain to him more specifically, "That kinda vibe,"

"I see," he nods. "Well, I'll work on it more tomorrow," he shrugs before strumming the strings one by one, "Wanna sing for you jagiya, is that alright for you?"

"I'd love to!"

With your tea encased in your hands, warming you up, Jisung takes a sip of coffee and a bite of a cookie before starting to position himself properly. He starts out a few testing strums, then fully plays chords familiar to you. As he plays, you sway to and fro, eyes closed and taking occasional sips of tea, his voice relaxing every muscle in your body.

Okay soooo I've never really saved gifs to my computer. These are going to be taken primarily from sifting through dream gif tags. So they'll at least be accredited (to where I found them from at least). But tumblr tags are such a horrid mess ToT and I KNOW FOR A FACT there are a bunch I'm missing.

My life as a new corporate pilot

When I was fresh out of college, I stumbled into one of the most fun flying jobs I’ve ever had. I had been volunteering for a local airshow and another volunteer introduced me to his friend who managed aircraft for some local companies and high-net-worth individuals. The operation wasn’t an airline that required an ATP so my low flight time, while not exactly a selling point, didn’t cause any legal issues. The problem would be getting me insured in the airplanes. I don’t know what kind of insurance premium was paid and the strings that had to be pulled to list me on an insurance policy for a corporate jet but I am forever grateful that it happened. For someone with less than 1,000 hours and a mere 20 hours of multi, this was an amazing opportunity.

It may be legal to take off in this, but it’s not usually safe.

The Cessna Citation 500 series was a great first jet and I learned a lot about flying turbine aircraft as well as how to be an effective first officer and part of the team. Other than the regulations, we didn’t have many set company rules to abide by. A lot was up to our judgment in regards to runway lengths, time on duty, and minimum visibility for takeoff since the regulations don’t restrict those for part 91 operators.

I learned from some accomplished captains. Three of them had single pilot waivers for the airplane so they were all sharp but welcomed reliable first officers that could help in high workload environments. Not only did I absorb valuable experience learning my role as a first officer, but I witnessed examples of how to be a good captain for later in my career. On the first flight, the captain asked me to work the radios and read the checklists as he called for them. After we took off, the tower controller at CAK handed us off to departure and that’s when I first experienced the sensation of speed that comes with flying a jet. I thought I misread the altimeter when I said 3,000 climbing to 5,000 within a minute of raising the gear. I couldn’t believe how fast we were traveling. We were barely in the air and were accelerating through 200 knots toward 250! As I grew more comfortable and could keep up with the plane, it became a wonderful home in the sky.

From time to time we would get a trips in the Citation V that would last three or four days. Being that we flew all part 91 missions and the airplane almost never moved unless the owners were in it, the captain and I would stay with the plane until the boss had struck “the deal” and it was time to come home. This often led to copious amounts of time to check out local restaurants and museums that I would have never been able to visit otherwise, and to explore wherever it was that we happened to be.

Many times we only had two legs on trips that would sometimes last two or three days. I didn’t get much flight time but those trips paid and as a flight instructor building time towards my coveted ATP, I was just happy to be there. Besides, I figured airline recruiters would prefer me to have more Citation time than a few more hours teaching steep turns in a Cessna 172. We flew for owners that went to Canada, so it was my first international experience too. The paperwork was intimidating at first but the actual flight was just as easy as flights within the US (aside from some thick French accents on the Center frequencies around Montreal). Not all of our trips were to exotic destinations but one particular trip landed us in Key West.

Our Florida trips always had early show times. An early show time wasn’t a big deal for a Parrot-head like me to get a paid for a pilgrimage to the Mecca of the Jimmy Buffet world, so I figured I was coming out ahead. The early flight meant getting to the airport at 5am to prep the plane for a 6:30am departure. Even if the aircraft owners were running late, we would be munching on conch-fritters with gentle steel drum music dancing in the background by early afternoon. The captain had taken the trip because it overlapped with his girlfriend’s birthday. A ticket on the airlines for her to tag along with him for a few days using his already paid for room meant I had a full three days to myself in Key West. I went to Margarittaville, saw the roosters roaming Duvall Street, and did my fair share of snorkeling. I also made sure to take plenty of pictures to prove to my parents how hard I was working. At the time I was training for the Chicago Marathon race and Key West made for a beautiful place to run. I was caught out in a pop-up thunderstorm while running, which made for a refreshing way to cool off towards the end of the run.

Sometimes a trip of a few hours can mean escape from winter temperatures.

A trip to Fort Myers in the Citation Ultra was even more enjoyable because it allowed for some escape from the Ohio winter, which by early February was feeling brisk. Relaxing in 70 degree weather for two days while being paid to be there. Sign me up! The captain on that trip introduced me to Brazilian steakhouses and the delicious meats and flavors my tongue didn’t even know existed. Oh, the rigorous life of a corporate first officer.

Airplanes like these bring new meaning to the phrase, “A mile of runway will take you anywhere,” because they take you there at 400 knots!

There are tough days flying corporate too. The time we couldn’t get out of Teterboro fast enough to get our passengers to a wake in Cleveland due to an unpropitious EDCT (Expect Departure Clearance Time) delay was stressful, but it was mostly good flying. I always felt useful, considering there was a specific purpose for each trip. The other aspect I enjoyed was the level of customer service we could render simply because we knew who we were flying. Flying an owner time and time again, I would get a feel for how they liked to operate in regards to their schedule and we would act accordingly. We even stocked the airplane with different snacks and their favorite drinks based on who we were flying.

There is a downside to this job that I should point out for anyone considering a similar position as mine. I suppose in some ways you could consider it an occupational hazard of sorts. Once we arrived home in Cleveland from our trip to Fort Myers and the owners had left, the captain and I were tidying up the airplane to put it away when I noticed he appeared to be experiencing some shoulder pain. The captain kept rotating his arm as if he were trying to stretch it. The line guy with us asked if he had perhaps hurt it sleeping in a funny position on the hotel bed to which he replied. “I think I swam to many laps in the outdoor pool.” Needless to say we didn’t get any sympathy from line service that day.

What can I say? It’s a rough life that I hope to make a career out of.
