BULLETIN: The Panama Canal Has Stopped! Forty percent (40%) of the Global Supply Chain came to a halt today as the Panama Canal shut down. Ships are presently stuck on both the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean sides of the canal because the FRESHWATER lake, which supplies the locks between the two oceans, has suffered a drought and can no longer fill the locks to allow ships to sail through the canal.
Because of the severely reduced freshwater supply, Ships are being ordered to travel with 40% less weight to deal with less water. The Panama government said these restrictions will last at least 10 MORE MONTHS.
This is causing delays in shipments from Asia to the East coast of the United States This is also causing oil shipment delays from the Middle East and India (Bharat) to the West Coast of the USA.
Get stocked up NOW.
Hal Turner Remark: Let me see if I understand this . . . The Panama Canal has the Atlantic OCEAN, on one side, and the Pacific OCEAN on the other side, and somehow or another, we're supposed to believe they've run out of water to operate the canal zone? Why not use salt water through the canal zone? Let me guess . . . . the environment?
Are You Prepared? 🤔

Unfinished Timeline for an Untitled Setting
Critique and advice is more than welcome, though please be nice about it. Goes up to about 2081 rn, though I plan to get at least another 50 years further in before I get to the time I want the bulk of the setting to be set in.
Timeline:
2022: First controlled break-even fusion reaction, followed by first controlled net-gain fusion reaction.
2025-2026: Increasing unrest in USA leads to mass riots outside the white-house. Sweeping reforms after growing revolts threaten to become a major armed rebellion. NASA miraculously left untouched, general increase in standard of living. Economic crisis narrowly averted.

StarSurf Reading Guide
A small guide to one of my favorite marvel ships: America/Ramone. I wrote this for the Yuri Olympics discord and thought I would share it here, too.
America (2017) - America's first solo comic series, OR Young Avengers (2013) - Not America's first introduction ever, but a starting point I like for her, as a team series it kind of assumes you have read the prev YA series but it's not really necessary, you might feel lost but its just because the plot is kind of wacky, more context won't help much lol.
Hawkeye (2016) - Ramone is introduced, she doesn't get a ton of lines but what she has is good.
West Coast Avengers (2018) - They start dating, Ramone gets her powers and begins using the code name Alloy
America Chavez: Made in the USA (2021) - this series introduced a retcon I really don't care for and personally have eschewed from my version of canon, but it had some nice moments between America/Ramone.

Other than R In Amerika documentary, are there any other stories of their first time in America - Paul/Flake/Schneider trio, and Richard/Till? I can't even remember if they travelled at the same time or why they didn't all go together (I do know that Feeling B were trying to play some shows so maybe that's why). Just would like to know more about those trips if possible.
It seems they travelled roughly at the same time, at least in the same year 1993 The trip from the Berlin gang with Feeling B (with Paul, Flake, Aljoscha and Schneider who happened to be the drummer at the time) is also mentioned by Flake in his books, and touched on in the 'Mix mir einen Drink' book (where Feeling B has a large part). They travelled indeed to try to play some gigs, for instance in New Orleans (East part of the USA).
The Schwerin lot, Richard Till and Olli, travelled as a threesome, i think to other parts of the USA (to the west coast). Although they possibly knew team-Berlin, at the very least because Feeling B played a lot and were pretty well known in the GDR, they were not directly working with Feeling B. The Schwerin trip was more as tourists, trying out the freedom to travel after the wall had come down in 1989. About this trip i think the main source of information is indeed Rammstein in Amerika.
i wonder if it the trips are mentioned in 'Achtung wir kommen' that was filmed right up to 1994 when Rammstein was formed and Feeling B played their final gigs together in the old lineup (Aljoscha formed a new Feeling B later), but unfortunately i still haven't found a site that ships that DVD to outside of Germany (like...10 km outside of Germany 🥺). i think it was streamed somewhere, but don't have that link anymore. But realistically...if it is, it is probably nothing new to what is already known in the fandom 🌺

Remember When The Pleasure Cruiser Morbillo Was Headed for Hawaii? The "Error" Fixed With Overdubbing.
Remember when, in Season One Episode Four, Captain Vincent, of the Pleasure Cruiser Morbillo is recording an audio log and his lips are saying, "Hawaii" but is overdubbed with "Havana"?
Tumblr media
Portraying Captain Vincent is David Morrissey, and to me it sounds like he had overdubbed his entire part.
That seems a lot of work just to mask one out-of-place word, though perhaps it would have been obvious otherwise?
Sigourney Weaver's "well screw that!" in the film Galaxy Quest went completely unnoticed by me until recently, re-watching as an adult! Her mouth shape is very obvious (and you can guess what word she actually said without having to go watch it).
However, the difference from what was originally spoken in this case, is more subtle.
Dear Diary - ahem, Captain's Log
The dictaphone microphone held close, he is speaking gently, "on the breath" or at half voice, "sotto voce"; his diction all focused at the front - "the tip of the tongue, the teeth, the lips". Mmm, great for ASMR. Would Shakespeare have praised him for speaking the lines trippingly?
Here's the line, "We were sailing south-southwest on course for Havana when we realised-" up close and slowed:
Tumblr media
There's no mistaking "Hawaii" with it's three - no, four - open vowel sounds ah-oo-ah-ee; there's no top teeth meeting the inner bottom lip for the "v" of Havana, nor the subtle jaw movements that would have accompanied the syllables.
Sailing SSW for Hawaii or Havana/Habana
If the original line is, "We were sailing south-southwest on course for Hawaii ..." then firstly, the Morbillo may have been travelling down the west coast of the USA, then eventually correcting to south-southwest. Makes sense, especially being in the North Pacific Ocean!!!
In S1E4, Saturday Morning Funtime, Atlantis rose from the sea floor, in the South Atlantic Ocean. Diagonally, A. Whole. Ocean. Away.
Tumblr media
That's a great big whopping error to make! Too big.
So, overdubbing with "Havana" changes things ever so slightly, but doesn't completely fix the situation.
Which Havana?
Travelling down the East coast of the USA now, makes sense for changing course south-southwest, headed for Havana CUBA, since Havana in eleven of the United States of America, can all be ruled out, being inland. So can Havana, Turkey.
A total of thirteen places in the world named Havana, and all of them are still too far north for Atlantis.
Just in case, all places spelled Habana are also too far north, or in the case of Habana Philippines or Habana Queensland Australia, are back in the Pacific Ocean.
Nowhere near Atlantis.
How to Draw Attention to Something: Make It Look Like An Error
Why make this particular "error" ? Well if it doesn't have anything to do with the Daily Specials Honolulu Roast sign, I'll eat my ... don't have a hat, not a hat person. I'll have a heaped teaspoon of Vegemite when the time comes.
Why insert errors at all? We humans loooove pointing out errors!
Ingrained from children's television, the Playschool song (whoops I mis-remembered, it was actually Sesame Street!: One of These Things is Not Like the Others then got sidetracked on youtube for a while: Classic Sesame Street 01 | Classic Sesame Street 02 | audio | Grouch Jazz | "Three of These Things Belong Together" | Barbershop parody.)
That's the point, to draw our attention. In Season Two especially there are plenty of errors to find, in the mis-spelling of words, names, the odd writing style of certain letters and numbers...
But here in season one is a potentially placed error, where the audio doesn't quite match the lip-flaps, and to discover this "error" opens up the possibility of there being another overdubbing mis-match to find.
Thanking @kimberleyjean for checking the Season One Script Book and the TV Companion for any mention of this error. There was none. Nothing at all in the TV Companion about the captain, the ship or Atlantis.
For anyone who owns the Season One DVD: is there anything said in the audio commentaries? Was there a trivia visual overlay?
[EDIT, Saturday 7th September 2024: this image shows that the original scripted line was indeed "Hawaii" -
Tumblr media
So, this means that for Miranda Richardson, her scripted line in The Ball really was, "Surrender the anctle."]

You have news and it is our news it is about what's going on there's a huge number of people going to these Giants and they're going to the water tunnel exit and they're finding out that it's true and they find out it's a massive number of giants coming pouring out no wondering where they're coming from and they can't tell where and it is from off the coast of Africa about 3,000 MI and they are pouring out and they're pretty big there but 100 miles to 500 MI Giants just thousands that they counted and we know this probably more and they are definitely from Arishem and it is a big pile and she had babies before and has some now and they're not that big and they're flying out of there
It is constant and and Non-Stop and they are amazed and they can't believe it's that many and they don't know where they would be coming from this no space out there but really at that location it's in the South Atlantic Continental cavern is the ocean continent cavern in this gigantic down there and Chuck full of giants and they thought it was soil and people are going there in droves. It's massive and a humongous number and it's non-stop okay these are coming flying out of there and the cavern is wet as it will not be dry and they are pouring out and they probably will continuously do so. Underneath is a huge ship and it's not to the side or anything they were going to blast the soil and push through it and we are removing our Giants oddly enough from the south Atlantic first. And in the west of the USA is the North Pacific and it hasn't answered yet is that true it's coming out of the ocean and you can see it and it hasn't happened yet until now it's a massive number this is a huge number of these monsters and we need better defenses where we are in case. Large large Giants come out and just massive numbers it's going to be millions of them and the North Atlantic Sea Continental cavern will begin to empty once they find the massive Giants one of them was founded below the UK and it's really a little Scotland and it is a mega class about 2,000 mile it's not the biggest but it is very big and it is a different type in a high classroom for that size it is extremely powerful and and please note we are raising theirs first, and yeah ours are in the cavern and nearby too we have a few caverns ourselves no but we're in there and we are also in other cameras that they're in. This is moving to a different level and people are noticing we are getting our power ready and we will have very very large armies and very huge shifts ships and the clay can be found on Saturn and we are mobilizing and the plans and the empire are entertained by each other. And he has troops vast numbers of giants.
This phenomenal is increasing with almost every word the others about it and we do in the apartment is going to cost media giant mania

Day 117   19 September
This was a big day for most people as we approached the Diomede Islands in the Bering Strait.  But first, a useless statistic.  Our expedition was only the 390th successful crossing of the Northwest Passage ever and one of only 31 that traversed it in 2023.  Alphabetically, we were number 383 of the 390 ships that have made the journey – way down the bottom.  A little odd because there are still seven letters after S in the alphabet – but maybe nobody names their ships Xerus, Yak or Zebu.
Big Diomede on the west (aka Tomorrow Island) is owned by Russia but Little Diomede (aka Yesterday Island) is owned by the USA – with the International Dateline running between them.  The islands are only about two kilometres apart and we circumnavigated Little Diomede, assiduously hugging our side of the Dateline to avoid an international incident and potentially WWIII.  The whole area was alive with birds of many species and many thousands of photographs were taken by those on board.  I think I took about five hundred that day.  We spent quite some time close to the island as we explored the coast, including the defunct crumbling remains of what was a small Inuit village (with some US military presence) on the western side facing Russia.  They apparently have a somewhat bigger military base on Big Diomede but not much else.
From there we sailed about twenty kilometres to Fairway Island, a small steep-sided (to the point of inaccessibility) uninhabited island except for many thousands of breeding pairs of seabirds.  There were birds everywhere, many auklets and murres, kittiwakes and shearwaters, but many other species too.  More photos were essential!
Then it was on to King Island.   (How many King Islands are there in the world?  I checked – at least 16 official ones, with numerous Kings Islands, and a great many King Someone’s Islands too).  More abandoned, derelict villages and hundreds of thousands of birds – maybe twenty species – they were enough to delight anyone interested in our avian friends.
There was an auction at night (there always is – in favour of a relevant good cause) but we chose bed instead.

Are Electric Vehicles Really Greener? Depends on where you live.
The rise of electric vehicles (EVs) has sparked a global conversation about their environmental impact.
Long gone are days when everyone saw EVs as ultimate good. After taking a nuanced look, many people realize that EVs also have an environmental footprint. Many journalists, EV enthusiasts, and researchers are trying to determine whether EVs are a definite net positive, or more of the same. In this article, I want to summarize their arguments.
Environmental impact of EVs and ICE vehicles is difficult to compare because there are many variables depending on the region, production of raw materials, and electricity sources are all important factors that differ from one country to another.
This blog post will be focused on United States, as most of the people reading this article are probably from the US.
The US Perspective
Transportation is the primary human activity that causes greenhouse gas emissions in the USA. In fact, cars and other transportation vehicles contribute to about one third of all emissions in the country. Switch from ICEs to EVs could theoretically reduce gas emissions, but there are several factors to consider.
Manufacturing Phase
We need to start tracking emissions from the manufacturing phase. Before EV hits the road, it needs to go through a process that results in greenhouse gas emissions. Several studies have shown that making an electric vehicle results in more emissions than a standard (internal combustion engine) vehicle. Now the question remains whether cleanliness of the EV after it is produced justifies more emissions during the manufacturing process. If a car is used for 20 years, using cleaner source of energy (electricity) could offset higher emissions during the manufacturing process. The thing is that even electricity is not always clean. Let’s explore this dilemma next.
Tumblr media
As of September 2023, all of us are waiting for new model 3 release date from Tesla. There are some reports of production line delays at the Fremont Gigafactory. Hopefully this does not result in more emissions as a result of manufacturing the car.
Use Phase
Cleanness of electricity depends on where you live. Cars can be shipped halfway around the world, but electricity is usually generated locally in the US. Even different states within this country produce electricity differently. Sometimes US also purchases additional electricity from Mexico and Canada. Therefore the energy that makes your EV go could be clean, or relatively dirty and not much better than using oil.
For example, EVs that use electricity from coal have significantly higher emissions than EVs that use electricity from cleaner sources like renewables.
On the flipside, our country is slowly moving away from ‘dirtier’ sources of electricity like coal, and toward solar and other renewable sources of electricity. In 2020, renewable sources made up about one fifth of all electricity consumed in the US. As time goes on, if EVs become more and more common and electricity sources start to become cleaner, this could lead to overall reduction in environmental impact. Still, batteries and raw materials used for building solar panels, batteries, and other equipment can also have negative environmental impact.
UCS reported that even with less than ideal electricity sources, EVs are still about twice as clean as cars with internal combustion engines. That is, if we consider long-term savings in fuel efficiency and clean driving.
Regional Variations
US spans a large territory, and differences between east and west coast, north and south are immense. Cleanness of electricity differs from one state to another. Some regions like Pacific Northwest use hydroelectric power, and Northeast uses nuclear power. Even if they are not renewable sources, both are very clean, and result in much less environmental impact than coal-based electricity. If you’re from the Midwest, chances are your car runs on electricity sourced from coal. In that case, buying a hybrid might be a better idea than buying an EV.
An EV in cleaner regions that generate electricity from renewables, nuclear, or other clean sources will be much greener than one in the Midwest. Still, there’s good argument to be made in favor of EVs even in regions with dirty electricity.
If you’re living in the place where electricity source is less than ideal, you can still use renewables like solar panels to generate your own electricity for the home. Then you can use excess energy to charge your EV at home. This isn’t always possible or practical, but home chargers can be a nice way to save on fuel costs as well. Superchargers are also more expensive than charging at home. But they are practical on road trips to quickly recharge your car by making a 20-30 minute stop.
Conclusion
In summary, EVs are by default much cleaner than cars with internal combustion engine. Still, overall environmental impact varies depending on source of electricity in your country (or region), and cleanness of the production line that manufactured your car. In the future, countries are likely to embrace cleaner sources of electricity and impose regulations to reduce factories’ environmental footprint. Even if certain EVs in some regions are not very clean now, they are more likely to become greener as time goes on.
Overall, there is no denying that EVs are greener than ICE cars. Especially if we consider the entire life span of the car. I am a huge fan of EVs, and plan to use this blog to promote them. Follow my blog to stay updated and be the first to learn about new developments like Tesla Model Y Juniper release date.

AmeriKate Comic Reading List
Tumblr media
Portal-punching queen America Chavez (Miss America) and badass archer Kate Bishop (Hawkeye) are the two awesome girls that make up AmeriKate. Though never made canon, there’s no doubt they’re each other’s “best ones”. If you’re interested in learning more about these two and where they appear in comics, then look no further — this post compiles the issues they’re in together!
More often than not, they have their own partners. Corresponding notes will be made for each recommended reading as a disclaimer, and so you can get a bigger picture of the overall premise! Details about the listed comics (i.e. brief summary), issues about the characters individually, and a sprinkle of OP’s personal opinion of a couple of the arcs can be found under the cut.
The list may not be as extensive as other ships in Marvel Comics are, but AmeriKate makes each issue count.
(Feel free to let me know if I missed any issues!)
AmeriKate Reading List:
→ Young Avengers Vol. 2 (2013) by Gillen and McKelvie
Sequel to Young Avengers Vol. 1 and Avengers: The Children’s Crusade - Young Avengers.
Kate bishop is/was dating Noh-Varr.
→ All-New Hawkeye Vol. 2 Issues #2 and #3 (2016) by Lemire and Perez
Continuation of All-New Hawkeye Vol. 1 (2015).
→ Civil War II: Choosing Sides Issues #2 and #3 (2016)
Issue #2 by Whiteley and Sauvage; Issue #3 by Doyle and Byrne.
Part of major storyline Civil War II.
→ America Vol. 1 Issues #1, #5, and #6 (2017) by Rivera and Quinones
America was/is dating Lisa Halloran. She has a brief thing with Magdalena Velez.
→ West Coast Avengers (2018) by Thompson and Caselli
Kate Bishop was/is dating Johnny Watts.
America Chavez was/is dating Ramone Watts.
→ America Chavez: Made in the USA Issues #1 and #5 (2021) by Vazquez and Gomez
America was/is dating Ramone Watts.
Miscellaneous Issues + Information!
→ Young Avengers Volume 1 (2005) by Heinberg and Cheung
Kate Bishop’s debut. Highly recommend reading about this team, regardless of how well (or poorly) MCU does with their adaptation of its members. Here, the Avengers have disassembled, and all of a sudden, a bunch of teen heroes with sidekick-sounding names are popping up and trying to save the city.
Kate Bishop has an off-and-on again relationship with Eli Bradley (Patriot) and a friendly flirty dynamic with Tommy Shepherd (Speed).
Lineup: Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), Hulking (Teddy Altman), Iron Lad (Nathaniel Richards), Patriot (Eli Bradley), Speed (Tommy Shepherd), Stature (Cassie Lang), Vision (Jonas), Wiccan (Billy Kaplan).
→ Young Avengers Special (2005) by Heinberg and Cheung
Initial/brief origins of the original Young Avengers Team, including Kate Bishop’s.
→ Vengeance (2011) by Casey and Dragotta
America Chavez’s debut. She has a thing with the Ultimate Nullifier, which is brought up and addressed in the 2nd Volume of Young Avengers, where she and Kate Bishop officially meet.
→ Young Avengers Vol. 2 (2013) by Gillen and McKelvie
Post Avengers: Children’s Crusade event. Though not liked by all compared to Volume 1, Volume 2 still had its own charms, and established how this was one of the first teams to ever be mostly queer canonically — on top of being adolescents too! This was a gift to all the young LGBT comic book fans out there who wanted to see themselves in their heroes.
Lineup: Miss America (America Chavez), Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), Hulking (Teddy Altman), Kid Loki, Marvel Boy (Noh-Varr), Prodigy (David Alleyne), Speed (Tommy Shepherd), Wiccan (Billy Kaplan).
→ All-New Hawkeye Vol. 2 (2016) by Lemire and Perez
More insight into Kate Bishop’s backstory is presented here. Arguably one of my favorite Hawkeye arcs because Kate was such a sweetheart to the kids of Project Communion.
→ Siege: Battleworld (2016) by Gillen and Andrade
America goes to another universe (Earth-311) and meets their version of Kate Bishop. Optional read since this isn’t Kate Bishop from Earth-616, but that universe also has other Young Avengers members making an appearance.
→ America (2017) by Rivera and Quinones
There are two volumes of this and give us a deeper dive into America’s origins. Besides Kate Bishop making an appearance, America goes to a university with David Alleyne (entering the Young Avengers roster in their 2nd volume).
AmeriKate’s road trip stint was lovely.
→ West Coast Avengers (2018) by Thompson and Caselli
Kate’s in the West Coast and finds that there’s barely any heroes stationed there to protect the city, so she enlists the help of some other heroes (including her partner Clint, her best friend America, and her boyfriend Johnny). The team’s line-up is really interesting, and the sheer chaos of their dynamics makes it a fun read. This is also where Jeff the Landshark makes his debut!
→ America Chavez: Made in the U.S.A. (2021) by Vazquez and Gomez
America’s origins about the Utopian Parallel was later retconned here (by a lot). It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, especially for the fans who liked America’s original background since this one pretty much took a massive dump on Rivera’s work in America (2017), though I personally enjoyed the art, if nothing else. It’s any fan’s game as to whether they want to view this storyline as canon or not.
→ Hawkeye: Kate Bishop (2021) by Nikjamp and Balam
Currently an ongoing series as of now (Issue #3, Jan. 2022)! Kate shows off her skills once again as a private eye and solo hero with this arc. America only shows up in text messages, along with Cassie Lang and Clint, but the events in the story imply they’ll be making an official appearance soon enough. Art is fantastic and the premise is so far interesting.

My plush style has changed and so have my fandom interests. I don't wanna trash them, but I also need space for other stuff.
You can get any one of these boys for the cost of shipping from west coast USA. I am willing to ship them international.
They are about 18 inches tall and semi-poseable.
For no good reason, Hannibal's Vinyl Murder Suit can be taken off, but be careful because vinyl is hard to repair if it rips.
I own a cat whose hair gets on everything so do not recommend if you're deathly allergic.
Edit: Will & Hannibal have been spoken for. Only the BOM boys available

Note
I apoligise in advance if you answered these before. Where are you from/living? What is your major or rather i remember you saying having masters....
And i really appriciate your posts
But I'm boring, this is supposed to be about BL.
I have duel citizenship USA/EU, and I grew up itinerant because of that (shipped between parents, grandparents, and continents). I have lots of degrees and two of them are masters, all in social sciences of various ilks, and from multiple universities in two different continents (see duel citizen).
How long do I have to have lived somewhere to claim to be from there? I suppose that is the question. Over a year? Two years? So probubly: West Coast/Midwest/East Coast USA, Southern/Northern England, Northern Italy, and some parts of South America and Central Mexico. I now live in California, but I'm getting restless again so not sure how much longer I'll stay here.
I write with American spelling, for example, but I spent most of what I'd call linguistically formative middle school in the UK, so occasionally I slip up and use British syntax or spelling. The only language I've formally studied is Spain Spanish, but I lived in Portugal for a while, and then Mexico and a few places in South America so that borked that language up for me.
So I'm a linguistic and cultural mess.
But I dream in West Coast American English so that's probubly my dominant culture and language. (Hence my choric use of the world "hella.")
The only social structure I'm really comfortable in at this point is queerdom and the kink scene. Which is pretty open and friendly and adaptable wherever I've gone. But like most kids who grew up transient I'm pretty culturally adaptable and enthusiastic about it.
