First off, space laze deciding a long post I wrote about trauma is an "argument" is very telling, it's not an argument, the post in question even says that it's just thoughts. Hold on. Why am I saying this, I'll just screenshot it.

This is not an argument. This was never an argument. This is just digesting thoughts about how so many of us have trauma with a specific piece of media. The "transfemmes made it popular" thing, though silly and untrue, isn't actually addressing anything I said. My post can *still* be true while that'd be true too, the two don't contradict each other.

That said it's untrue. Transfems do not hold that level of social capital. The movie isn't a niche hit with trans specific crowds, it's a literal cult classic. The love for it is so much bigger than that. It's a bigger movie than that now. Are there transfems that love it? Yeah. Are there transfems that were involved in its uprising as "queer cinema?" Yeah. But to say it was only transfems is ahistorical and silly.

At the end of the day, it's once again just a guy mocking a woman for something they didnt even bother to read. It's typical anti-feminist methodology. The entire book about problematic media goes out the window. "Uh uh uh people can't be traumatized with the movie cuz ummm transfems like it!" That's not how things work and never has been. Liking a movie that is problematic isn't a bad thing, but if you're literally so resistant to any critical reading of a movie, you're just anti-intellectual.

and nina is very girly, outgoing, touchy, friendly, cute, etc. so it was very like UMMM?!? idk. natalie kept snapping at her, assuming she was fake and weird and just trying to get something from nat, but nina was so persistent and just. friendly. it started making natalie feel warm.

nina's presence started to heal natalies inner little girl. she had it stolen from her time and time again, from her dad, her brother, her peers - the operator, too.

so the two are eventually actual friends. they'll text and play mobile phone games together. sometimes they'll just sit on call and nina will be talking her head off while nat does her own thing at home. one time nat was at tobys cabin and nina was talking about toby on speaker and toby walked in and was like 'hey nina' .... nina almost threw up she was so embarrassed.

nina loves visiting nats bar because everyone is always talking to nina and giving her attention and buying her drinks, and at first nat was irritated but it kinda got nat some better tips since the customers started realizing ninas her friend. so nat was pleased. LOL

nat was never the type to go shopping, but she'll follow nina around and sit while nina tries on clothes and carry around all her bags that she buys LOL... ninas made jokes about nat being boyfriend material and nat just flatout says smth about how nina should get over jeff cuz he would never.

Omen: For some reason me and my friends use to play that we lost our memory, we really just used it as an excuse to be mean. (I was 9)

Cypher: Spent hours on an app that let me see city cameras in china or something (9 maybe? I'm not sure)

Sova: The first time i went fishing with my grandfather (RIP grandpa) I was so proud, then i dropped it on the ground and it flopped into the water. (i was 5)

Harbor: I am a huge history nerd, I did three book reports on the titanic, Then when we had to be characters for a fake museum where we would have to preform for epople I decided to be the drunk man that survived (I was 10, why didnt a teacher tell me no?)

Gekko: I had one of the electronic Furbies, i still have that yellow shit. Me and my brother were playing with him and he turned evil and we got so scared. For a month we made our mom put him under a flowerpot with 2 bibles on top of it. (I actually dont know how old I was)

Deadlock: My grandma gave me a sewing kit for one of my birthdays so I just threw it at people (6)

Iso: Collected little rocks at recess then put them in the shoes of kids I didnt like (6)

Clove: Jumped off the top of the playground because I wanted to impress my crush, then I hit my head on the slide pole. Surprisingly I ended up being just fine.

"Why are you here" She heard she looked up and saw gof. She gently grabbed his arm and pulled him down in the seat next to her. "Gabee asked for your number"

"Ew i hope you didnt give it to her" gof says with a disgusted face. "I didnt i gave her my ex's" harmony smiled. "Thats... thats clever" gof admitted. Gof doesnt have to many girl friends. Considering all the girls he ever talked to was the same. But not harmony. She's different to him.

He doesn't know how they became friends. They just instantly clicked. "So why are you here" gof asks again making harmony look at him confused. "Ummm we have class" She says in a Duhhh tone.

Gof scoffed and then laughed getting up. "You really need to check your emails more often" he says then leaving. Harmony quickly pulled her phone out and checked her emails. She soon saw a email from her professor saying class was canceled for the night. Harmony quickly got up and caught up with gof. "Waittt!!!"

"Aint no way you walked this far ahead already" she says catching her breath. "I did, you'll understand when you grow" gof says earning a playful slap to the arm as he laughs. "Wait why were you here then"

"I left my charger, luckily it was still here" harmony nodded as they walked out the library. They walked together as Harmony followed behind. It looked like harmony was his puppy or little child.

"Why are you following me?" Gof asks as they reach his car. "Huh? Oh shit um i dont know actually" she says as she realized she was following him.

"Its only 8:25 wanna go catch a movie?" Gof asks. "WHATTT!! IS THE GOF ASKING ME HARMONY TO A MOVIE" harmony says loudly.

"Alrighty ill meet you at my place" she says heading to her car. Gof shakes his head with a smile getting into his car.

It's already 8pm, and the frustration continues to grow for sunwoo as sleep eludes him once again. The persistent disturbance comes from his roommate, who has, for the second time now, brought home another guy to fuck, their walls was thick yet his room was right beside hers?

He can't help but feel as though this noise is intentional, meant to unsettle him deliberately. Exhausted and fed up with the situation, sunwoo finds himself questioning why his roommate and her companion can't choose a different location for their nighttime activities.

After all, he had already expressed his desire for a peaceful sleeping environment after the first incident, hoping that she would respect his need for rest as a fellow resident of the same living space.

Sunwoo can't lay in bed and listen to this bullshit any more, mostly because he could start feel himself getting hard by her moans. Oh how he wished it was him instead of that guy.

Sunwoo threw the covers off angrily and walk down the hallway, banging on her door. "Can y'all please shut the fuck up!" The moans and groans coming from her room come to a halt and hes glad they got the message.

As he turn on his heels to head back to his room, a half dressed guy comes running out of her room and shoves past him, almost knocking him over.

He heads for the door before he can even see his face. Sunwoo turn to look at noze, covering the lower half of her body with his sheets as she has a tank top on, which made his situation worse seeing her peirced nipples through the top.

Her hair is messy and sweaty, which would look good on any other day but hes too mad at her to think of him in that way right now. "Oh shit, I didn't know you were home, I'm so sorry sunny" she apologizes.

She thought he were spending the night at his friend's house, like he usually does. "I'm going tomorrow night dumbass. Do you bring someone home every time I'm not here?" Hes ask, arms crossing.

"Maybe not every night," she responds, unable to look him in the eye. He scoff and head back to his room, finally able to get some sleep. He snuggle under the covers but feel his phone vibrate from a text.

After a while they ended up falling asleep on the most weirdest position possible.

UMMM idk how im gonna format this so im just gonna put it in bullet points ig

scout is a big ole hugger and very physically affectionate,, this contrasts with miss pauling being touch starved and really reserved. the way each of them love is something to get used to for both of them but its just works!!

i think miss pauling is very quick to try to ignore her feelings in order to focus on her work rather than a relationship with scout but it ends up coming up over and over again. like perhaps she'll try to convince herself that she can work with him and be normal and ends up fumbling over her words or another flub like that "hey scout i need you, i mean- for-for this" contract line. (i see her being shown to act stern to him in fanon even when she's supposed to be pining, but i think its forgetting the aspect of her character that she's a huge nerd >:33 i just really enjoy scoutpauling pining. scout becomes softer, shyer and more considerate, and miss pauling becomes that "girls when they're in love" meme. i just think they're such a good ship for a slow burn which is so upsetting cause i don't think there's a single scoutpauling-focused fic that's a slow burn. i'd say i'd to take up the torch but i struggle to even write one shots so 💀)

i also like to think that miss pauling notices his insecurities and compliments them. and he gets all flustered but he loves it so much. (yup i did rip this from a measured fic i read but i gotta beef up that wordcount biatch. i am insane abt this pairing i dont think you guys understand yet)

miss pauling is often overworked (as she is lol) and will struggle to take basic care of herself (feeding, sleeping, etc) and as they get closer scout will swing by her apartment often and help her clean up the garbage, water the plants , take her to bed (NON SEXUALLY!!!!11!!! we keep it PG here) and get her some good food

miss pauling will sometimes be so overworked she'll be sleeping sitting up or fall out of her chair and sleep crumpled on the floor. scout is often coming into her office/apartment just to spend some time with her and she'll tell him that she's fine and doesn't need much sleep to keep going. scout let's her go for this but soon he finds her asleep in even more concerning spots and finally says fuck it and cleans up her apartment and tucks her into bed

i feel like scout has put on a tough, "manly" persona all his life to prevent himself from getting bullied (or at least getting affected by it in front of others) but i think miss pauling being a girl able to call him on his bullshit is really good for him to be more down to earth and good for his self esteem in a way? like i think he allows himself to be more vulnerable with her and that feeling rewarded by being loved for what he is rather than just a persona is just really nice.

miss pauling is really capable but also i think shes avoidant to help if its really personal to her and not only her job. miss pauling was raised to be an assassin by the administrator and was never really allowed to just be a PERSON and i think that its kinda nice for her to be able to just have a normal relationship with someone. like, i think their relationship is pretty non-normal lols, but also i think scout can be really nice to her and nurturing to a more personal side of her she often times will have locked up because of her line of work.

if the administrator didnt adopt miss pauling (a big hc i have) i like to think that she had a very cold and unforgiving set of parents (like perhaps she can attach herself so well to the administrator because shes used to authority figures behaving in that way? or something?). i imagine after miss pauling getting well acquainted with scouts family, scout wants to meet her family. scouts family is a lot more warm blooded and caring than miss paulings family, and miss pauling says no at first because of this. scout still wants to go or at least know why miss pauling wont talk about her family, but reconciles that some things she isnt ready for. miss pauling still notices his feelings and decides to bring him over for one dinner. its just the worst for everyone involved. scout is wearing his sunday best which is a goofy haircut and a bowtie because he cant be fancy to save his life and no matter how polite he tried to be his bluntness would always shine through on accident. miss paulings mom would insult her and scoutd get really defensive. hes not allowed back. ;-;

another hc i like is that miss pauling and scout both speak spanish. scout learnt it because he mistook it for the language of love (which, i mean spanish is still a pretty romantic language so i fuck w it) but in miss pauling's case it was her first language. miss pauling is excited to know he speaks her language and he often needs her to slow down her speech for him to keep up which i think is a fun contrast to everyone struggling to keep up with him loll... also this happened valve told me/j

inchrested actually to compare shameless characters thru the lens of who happens 2 really like kids... fiona kind of doesn't. in general. despite taking disproportionately good care of kids As a kid. but like so she doesn't want bad things to happen but i think it's very involuntary when she's charmed by babies & she really wishes they'd be able to handle their own shit. + the fact she grows later to resent being needed despite how badly she emotionally needs to be needed. vs lip and ian and debbie being the way they are.

maybe misogyny means people don't notice debbie liking kids as much as a character trait bc it's assumed default for a girl but from the get go she has this intense seriousness with the baby doll in s1 ("ginger kept me up all night with diarrheaaaaa" was funny as fuck for being so Unnecessary but also so telling) that follows through.. that is Not matched in other female characters so it's obviously a debbie thing not a misogyny in writing thing.

also like generally i agree that debbie becoming a teen mom on purpose wasn't a great idea but it is so fascinating for being Her choice on Purpose. she's a very impatient person too. Also you can't tell people Not to have kids that's fucked up.

Hey what are your thoughts on more recent appearances of Rip and the Time Masters in DC like in flashpoint beyond and Stargirl the lost children? My feelings are… complicated to say the least

Hiiii okay so I am a big Johns hater (not a secret i say this all the time LOL) SO i honestly did not like the writing or use of the time masters characters in those recent stories. I feel like it's extremely weird what they chose to do with Corky's character and im hoping its ignored/retconned as they move forward.

I also did not like the treatment of Jeff in the little snippits shown. For some reason (Johns writing) he wrote Corky to belittle Jeff's character and i noticed even in the artwork jeff was drawn standing away from Rip and Bonnie..ummm I did not like that.

One thing I will say I do think it was "okay" that we were shown Jeff taking Rips side vs Bonnie taking Corkys side on whos fault...whatever time shit was happening was...... but also.. Corky is a literal child again (where he was like..18 or at least 17 in TM 90s) and I dont think theres any canon ground to stand on of Jeff actually disliking corky either way (even Rip didnt dislike corky in the og 60s comics it was just a thing in the 90s to add to the story of Rip not trusting people and being a dickhead bc paranoia was taking over his whole life literally). I just think it was probably a dull way to show that Jeff knew Rip first, and Bonnie, of course was raising Corky. But theres probably better ways to show that.

I do think Bonnie standing against Rip or calling Rip out on shit while still being a Time Master is cool, wish Johns could write that interestingly outside of her throwing a few statements out like "of course its rips fault it always is" or whatever. But of course we didnt get that bc they were too busy doing whatever the fuck with Corky in stargirl.

Also, i hate that they're back in those ugly ass green and red onesies it makes me so MAD. Why does bonnie have a cowboy hat? Why is corkys hat an actual living raccoon??Why cant people save the day in t shirt and jeans. Sigh!

Glad they're back, though. Rip is so pointless to me when his history and team goes ignored as the existence of them adds so much to his character. Now we just need someone who can handle that to take the wheel. Someone who instead of treating the other Time Masters like bg characters will treat them like the main characters of that team because guess what? They are. Rip is not the only person who is important or interesting.

In the future, since Johns is leaving dc, i would like to see actual interactions with the Time Masters and Booster and such. Would be neat to see how they fit into the canon now together. I did like the little line in the christmas special where its shown when Booster sees Rip that he knows there must be some Time Master stuff going on. I just really need to see the other members of the team be able to do things too. I also want to see where Rips interactions with the Linear Men fall into this as well bc they have teased them a few times too (we saw old man rip in those umm generations comics a few yrs ago).

I ALSO wonder what this means for the canon of Booster being considered a "time master" because now thatd be like adding your dad to your friend groupchat like sorry guys hes gotta hang out with us.

hi! i (old-as-the-multiverse, m (probably!)) was hanging out with my friends d (like ummm… actually i forget… my notes say like 500 or something but its felt so much longer lol!!!, m?) and s (27 or something? i remember he was older than the other guy lol (more on that later!!), m) and they like started arguing and for some reason d and s are both individually kind of upset with me about it too haha???

anywayy d and s were yelling at each other after our last fight bcs apparently this one guy spilled a secret d was keeping for like… however long its been since s joined our team idk? basically we were tooootally besties with this alternate version of him but then he died (very sad!!!!! d cried a bunch at his funeral (i think thats the human equivalent) and i think my worstie e was kind of upset by it too???? and hes never upset EVER lol)

but the biiiiig drama was that d never told s and also!!! hes been calling s the dead guys name on occasion (they have different names but theyre still the same guy… actually we’re all sort of the same guy now i think abt it???? oooh i dont think that helps lol) which reeeeeeally made him mad…. actually kind of ds fault ngl i made a note in case i forget (i forget everything!!! so i write it all down) which one he is and ive never forgotten ever! i think! but thats not the part they got mad abt
