ཐིཋྀ KINKTOBER DAY 11 - uniforms : neito monoma
warnings : afab reader, monoma is a little panty stealing perv, voyeurism, masturbation, recording/taping sexual acts
word count : 940
🐙 note : the way we locked tf in to write this was crazy like we did this on the 10th at 10:30 bruh
🦊 note : hi guys! this was our first real collab and we wrote it literally the night before it was due please pray for us
monoma was many things; arrogant, egotistical, a little batshit, and, unknown to most, a giant fucking pervert. monoma’s favorite thing about you was how good you looked in your school uniform, and how utterly oblivious you were. he was constantly stealing glances at you, down your shirt, up your skirt, and even blatantly at your chest. the best part of it all was that you were in his class AND you were class president so he saw you and you talked to him quite often.
yes, there were other girls in your class, and even in your school, but he couldn’t change how good the uniform looked on you specifically. your perfectly proportioned body, from your waist:hip ratio, to your perfectly sized tits, and an ass that just wouldn’t stop, you were just so delicious that monoma couldn’t help staring at any given opportunity. not to mention your beautiful face that complimented your body perfectly; oh, how your soft eyes and kind smile made him absolutely swoon. not only was he a sucker for you sexually, he also had an enormous crush on you. i mean, really, how could he not with the way you lead the class and got along with everyone (even the pesky class 1-A students). monoma was in way over his head when it came to you.
so, it was only natural that once everyone at U.A. had settled into the dorms, that he begun stealing your panties from the dirty laundry piles when he thought there was no one else around to witness his perverted schemes; sneaking off to his room to beat the shit out of his dick, your pretty pink panties wrapped around it as he ruts into his hand, biting his bottom lip trying hard not to moan your name as he pretends its your hand wrapped around his leaky cock. being the ever bold person he is, he even managed to start stealing your bras. finding them so adorable and envisioning your perfect tits filling them out.
it didn’t take you very long to notice certain pairs of panties and bras going missing, however; of course you’d recognize when your nicer, pricier, matching sets suddenly vanish! but who on earth could possibly be the thief..? (maybe the guy whose name is literally phantom thief?? just a thought.)
you had a sneaking suspicion on who the thief was, so one night, you decided to sneak into monoma’s room while he was out, it was minorly disheveled, but overall put together and kind of bland. you found his closet to be positioned on the wall to the right of his bed and figured it to be the perfect spot to spy on him to confirm your suspicions. shimmying your way in, you sat and waited for your prey.
after sitting there for about 15 minutes on your phone (and trust the twitter timeline was crazy), your ears perked up as you heard the bedroom door open and close, followed by soft footsteps, as if someone were intentionally trying not to be heard. peeping out the crack in the closet doors you see monoma walking towards his bed with your panties peeking out from his pocket.
you almost catch yourself gasping at the sight, you knew it! of course it was monoma who took your underwear, he was always staring at you to the point you felt he was burning holes into you. slowly he took the panties out of his pocket and held them up, firstly just giving them a good look over. your eyes widened when he opened them up and put them on his face, an exacerbated sigh leaving his mouth. carefully pulling down his pants you sit there stunned that this was actually happening, before you can even think you pull out your phone and hold it up to the crack, pressing record.
you watch intently as monoma wraps your panties around the upper half of his thick cock, closer to the tip, and slowly start to jerk it up and down, progressively picking up speed. his head tilts back and you feel your face flush when you hear him moan your name, and the hand that isn’t holding your phone comes up to cover your mouth in shock. oh, he was down bad.
it isn’t long before he’s cumming with a loud cry of your name and jizzing all over his hand and your panties, you abruptly end your video, having all the evidence you needed.
jumping out of his closet, you point an accusing finger at him and whisper-shout you! you’re the thief!
neito blushes a deep red in shame over being caught red (or white??) handed, and he gasps out your name again, like he was addicted to saying it, before going completely silent. what on god’s green earth could he possibly say!??!? shit. think, monoma, think!
“i— uhm, fuck—”
“neito, i— i don’t— why?” you ask, as if you didn’t already know the answer; you weren’t oblivious to the way he looked at you, or snuck glances down your shirt all the time.
“well— because, uhm… because—” he takes a deep breath and steels his nerves. “because i’m in love with you….?”
“so—you steal my panties!? and bras?!” you exclaim, throwing your hands up, gripping your phone firmly.
“i—” you slap him in the face and snatch your panties out of his hand before storming off to your dorm room….. just to lock the door and strip out of your current pajamas to put the nasty underwear on and jerk it in your own bed as you watched the video you had recorded.

So... I just finished Demons...
heavy spoilers below the cut!
Honestly, I have no idea as to how I’m supposed to structure this review, given that I have many thoughts (and feelings) about having just ended another novel that’s full to the brim with things to talk about. I’m just going to write this according to the flow of my thoughts.
I’ve been told months before starting Demons that the first part is a little boring to get through, but in retrospect, I don’t subscribe to that belief anymore. Setting up the backdrop with Stepan and Varvara’s relationship was essential in establishing the main themes of the story.
(a) Control. For a woman in that century, seizing the opportunity to have the upperhand over a man is the most viable and beneficial option for Varvara. Sure, she might be more financially well-off than Stepan, but in the eyes of the conservative society then, she’s still supposed to defer to him due to her sex. There’s a passage wherein (I think) Stepan contemplated marrying Varvara (after Vsevolod Stavrogin’s death), but he ultimately decided not to. Even if he did push through with it, I don’t think Varvara would have agreed, either, because that meant succumbing to someone who she obviously thought was below her (“...no doubt, Varvara very often did hate him…”), and of course, knowing her character, she would absolutely not do that.
(b) Projection/idealization. Varvara quite literally had Stepan dress up like the Kukolnik portrait that she saw as a young girl. She saw Stepan as her “creation”, even; she defended him from everything and so whenever he acted in a way that betrayed her image of him, she’d grow resentful of him. Varvara, having invested a lot into Stepan — emotionally and financially — now expects him to slavishly obey and go along with her every whim. Here, one can also see the transactional element of the relationships in Demons, and we see this, along with the other aforementioned themes, become more fleshed out as the story progresses.
We’re introduced to Nikolai Stavrogin next, who is Varvara’s only son. I’ve spoken a great deal about Nikolai here already (especially on Twitter… My mutuals are probably so sick of seeing Maxim Matveev’s Stavrogin’s face on my account XD), but this is yet another opportunity for me to talk about him again. Having the privilege to be able to see him from a larger perspective and know about his childhood, I honestly felt sorry for him, even until his death. I tweeted this about him three months ago:
I’m not going to go on a rant about nature vs nurture here, but I really do believe that those nights where Stepan would just trauma dump unto this kid unprovoked without providing any good opinion of the world afterwards was what began Nikolai’s self-contained view of the world. I doubt he was able to make a lot of friends his age, too; he was quite the shy kid and he often kept to himself, not to mention that Varvara wasn’t the best parent, either. She provided for Nikolai, yes, but she fell short in actually being his mother. Nikolai was more of a status symbol for her than a son she cherished, really, and when she felt that something really disturbing had taken root within him, it was too late to do anything to counteract it. I gush about him a lot (like a lot, and this is more true if you follow me on Twitter), but it’s Matveev who I like, honestly. Not Nikolai as a person. I feel sorry for that loser (lovingly... and pitifully), because he’s carrying a weight inside of him that he can’t even grasp, and everyone around him is busy projecting whatever onto him. He voices out his frustration over this after the duel with Artemy Pavlovich, and it’s one of those moments that show how Nikolai isn’t just some figure of mystery and intrigue. He’s still a person, and he’s so, so tired of it all.
I also had a phase where I really got into picking apart Pyotr Verkhovensky’s character. As a psych grad, it’s so fascinating to see the theories I’ve learned that touch on the effects of parental neglect come alive through Pyotr. This, coupled with that childhood fear of his, molded him into the master manipulator that he was. Everything he does is for the sake of harnessing control, even if it makes him look stupid in the eyes of others. Pyotr’s “deference” to Nikolai is not an actual display of submission — it’s only a front, because what he really aims to do is to gain control of the latter through such an act. He’s boot-licking since he needs the influence that Nikolai has, not because he truly respects or sees him as someone so great; at the end of the day, it’s all about control. It’s why Pyotr does a complete 180-degree turn and goes from calling Nikolai the “sun” to “scoundrel” when he heard about him leaving town. And I bet that that struck a really sensitive nerve in Pyotr, having been abandoned by his own father as a child. I’ve also noticed something about him — he has his way with using his words on others so they’d go along with what he wants to do, but whenever someone attacks him with facts (e.g. Yulia Mikhailovna calling him out on his behavior towards Andrei Antonovich; Fedka telling him that he’s but a yapping dog and that Nikolai sees it as “...a great honor just to spit on him from above”), he cannot, for the life of him, handle it at all. Like, he gets MAD mad when someone lays the truth on him.
I want to take a moment and talk about the women in the story, too. I tweeted about the theme of the women being the men’s scapegoats for their wrongdoings. We see this with Yulia Mikhailovna, whose “idiotic behavior” was used to cover up Pyotr’s machinations behind the chaos that ruined the fête; I don’t intend to rid her of her influence in what happened, because she did have a hand in it, too; but it’s reductive and irresponsible to say that it was simply her who caused everything to go to shit. After all, Pyotr was the one who was living off of the influence she had, and he was using her as a pawn in his game, as well. Another example is Liza’s death. She’s killed by the townspeople because she was Nikolai’s mistress, and they believed her to be the reason why the Lebyadkins were killed, thus leading to the devastating fire that razed Zarechye. I can get behind that, but where’s the violence that is to be directed towards Nikolai himself? It takes two to tango, so why is he not getting the same kind of heat? There’s also Pyotr, who had orchestrated everything to lead her to Skvoreshniki. Again, I’m not saying Liza’s without agency (because she did choose to go there herself), but it was still a man who guided her down that path to destruction.
One thing that sat at the back of my head and really weighed me down during my read was the scarcity of love in the story. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s entirely loveless, because there were moments where love was present (e.g. Mavriky’s acceptance of Liza even after everything that has happened, Kirillov’s support while Marie was on the brink of childbirth; and Shatov seeing a new beginning for his family after the birth of the baby), but the chaos and despair just greatly outweighed it. I didn’t expect it to feel light, anyway (like of course it wouldn’t be that way, this is a Dostoevsky novel, duh), but the experience was just really bleak.
There are little genuine relationships in this novel, too. Everyone is constantly trying to one-up everyone else, and this post will not end if I decide to cite them all and analyze them. They're all constantly grappling for power over another person, and the lengths that they'd go to are even self-sabotaging. Like, "never mind if I look like a fool, hurt myself or others in the process; what matters is that I come on top of everyone." And of course, as I've discussed in an older post, you can't expect love to come out of a relationship that's borne out of the struggle for control and dominance.
I knew that everything was going to go to shit at the end of the novel, but the awareness of such did not dull the pain at all. Watching it actually go down as I was reading so horribly was still hard for me. I think what really killed me about Nikolai’s fate was Kirillov’s words about him: “...if Stavrogin believes, he doesn’t believe that he believes; but if he doesn’t believe, then he doesn’t believe that he doesn’t believe.” Nikolai’s not entirely convinced of his own faithlessness, much less comfortable with his nihilism. Up until the end he was looking for something to believe in, but as fate would have it, he’s unable to find what he was looking for. Like Tikhon said, Nikolai doesn’t want to be just lukewarm. He’d settle to either be warm or cold, even, but he can’t, because he doesn’t know how to escape the prison of the existential emptiness that he’s got inside of him.
This leads me back to Kirillov, too. When Pyotr came to him to make sure that he would follow through with their agreement, I could feel Kirillov hesitating to kill himself. I don’t think I breathed when I was reading that part. I felt like he, too, was looking for a way out of this bargain with Pyotr, but alas, he couldn’t find it.
And Shatov. God. His death happened so fast (as in the way it was narrated). It absolutely broke me how a few moments ago he was so happy, so excited to have Marie back and become a father to their baby (well, I know it isn’t his, but that’s Shatov’s baby. Period.) And then… It was all gone. Just like that. I had to take a moment after that chapter to debrief myself because it was just so sudden. I have no other words for this bit, honestly.
I want to say more, but I fear I’d be rambling too much already. I might put out separate posts according to a specific theme or element that I wanna discuss, but so far, this is all I have to say about Demons. Jesus Christ. 10/10, would probably read again, but not in the near future because it was just too much. Right now I’m just excited to integrate everything I’ve learned into my fanfiction since I’ve got a more confident grasp on the enigma that is Nikolai Stavrogin. God, I wanna make him suffer all over again. See you all in my next post about this damn novel.

Is it true that the fact that “Deku is like half quirk racist and judgmental is proven by the next season 7 episode because he rejects Toga because he’s an A-hole and judging her. I really dislike when in-universe characters keeping being mean to my favourite best girl in the series. Luckily, Deku gets whooped and bullied by her because he was in the wrong and disrespected her and judged her and made assumptions and pretending he knew her!! What a jerk.” - A guy on twitter said this to me and I’m like confuzzled, not my words!!!!😅😅😅 me copy and pasted AHH not me!!!! Anyways so is they right?
Uh...huh.
I think the statement in question is written in a pretty inflammatory, reductive way (on purpose). The writer is expressing their protectiveness of a character they like and/or relate to, so that explains some of the hyperbolic language. I don't agree with the statement; I think describing the situation requires a lot more nuance.
First of all, let us not make a habit of using this weird term "quirk racist." "Discrimination," or "quirk discrimination," are sufficient terms and don't invoke any awkward or insensitive equivocations.
Is Izuku judging Toga? To an extent, yes. But judgment is a necessary part of life when it comes to discerning other people's intentions and whether or not you wish to associate with them. No one is required to befriend anyone just because they ask. I could easily judge not to be friends with someone because we don't have similar interests or we have different perspectives on life. That's normal. What would be bad is if I were to judge that difference and remain close-minded to the possibility that my judgment is wrong, or if I were willing to take my judgments as far as harmful discrimination.
To bring this back to the scene at hand, I don't think Izuku has gone so far as to completely reject Toga. I think both Ochako and Izuku have honestly expressed their truths, their perspectives on life, and how they do not understand Himiko Toga. In a different situation, perhaps had they all encountered each other at younger ages, they would have had the opportunity to continue the discussion and come to a better understanding, and maybe then there would have been more acceptance for Toga. The problem is that they are meeting Toga after she has crossed an important line.
It's tragic. Toga did not receive the support and education she needed to properly integrate into society. Her feelings were rejected by everyone who could have helped, and all anyone did was try to repress her and make her conform. There was no attempt to socialize her properly. If they could have accepted that Toga genuinely felt as she did and needed to express herself, they could have taught her about consent. They could have taught her to express her desires in a way that others could better understand. She wouldn't have had to resort to attacking and killing others just to feel real. But instead they primed her to believe that everyone saw her as a monster, and she acted accordingly.
Izuku and Ochako meet Toga after she has become a serial killer and a terrorist. Toga already resolved to just do whatever she wanted without regard for others' feelings. The obvious response Izuku and Ochako would have to that is "Others' feelings are important. Consent is important. Respect for others' autonomy and well-being is important." They don't have the context about how Toga feels deep down, proven by the fact that Toga's confession on Okuto Island gave them better insight into what was going on with Toga.
So yeah, I think the circumstances of their encounters are what have exacerbated this situation. Izuku and Ochako have never had a real chance to talk with Toga, because they've only ever encountered her when she was trying to fight them. They've only met her on the battlefield. There wasn't a real opportunity for any of them to get to the bottom of things in time to avoid an escalation in their conflict, at least not until the end.

Remember that pic that voltageous Posted of Jack all angey. Do you think Alice would ever be in similar situation like that? Btw I love your character Alice and all the headcanons and stories that make!
Aww! Thank you so much! I'm really happy that you enjoy my writing, ideas, and Alice. 💖
I presume you're talking about this lovely picture, right? Jack's pose is very appealing, but his expression in particular is striking. Between that, the composition of the scene, and the lyrics, a story is being told that has sparked so many thoughts.
I actually made a short thread on twitter discussing Alice and this picture's scenario. I think this is the perfect opportunity to expand on that idea with a bit of a ramble, and maybe do a bit of writing.
Quick reminder that this fandom is for Adults Only. Mature topics will be discussed like sex, cheating, and such.
In that spirit, let's really look at the picture and talk about it, shall we? I think the main thing that really caught my, and a lot of other people's attention is the look Jack is giving the person standing in shadow in the doorway, presumably MC. We've never seen Jack actually show such an angry expression to his sunshine outside of fan art.
I mean look at that face. Jack is glaring daggers, at his sunshine no less! That is the look of a lover betrayed by their cheating partner if I ever saw it. Sauce does great work with their art and expressions. Full credit goes to them as always for their awesome work.
Speaking of which, consider joining the SnaccPop Studios patreon for more cool art that they haven't shared on twitter. Just remember not to share anything that's privately posted there.
Something I actually only noticed when really looking at Jack's face in close up, he has a slight distortion going on similar to what was applied to his sprites earlier in development. You can really see it in the slight blurring of his red marks.
As was mentioned on the official tumblr, Jack can touch and interact with things the more attached he is to his sunshine. In the demo, Jack picking up MC and making food is treated as a new development, showing how close they've become. MC can't touch him anymore when they distance themselves from him in the "no" route. When they could choose to "not make things weird" and keep Jack at arm's length emotionally, he started to feel cold and distant from them even though he was holding them close.
It was mentioned that Jack was given an intentional 3D/VHS distortion in earlier builds, which I think was to further emphasize that he wasn't quite real. MC is the one making him more real with their love and attachment. I suspect that the blur would've lessened and disappeared altogether as he became more real.
So now we see Jack with a hint of that distortion, glaring angrily up at the person casting a shadow over him in a darkened room. I think we can all guess this is supposed to be MC, and the lyrics give us a very strong hint as to what's going on here and why he's so upset.
It would seem that this picture is implying that MC was out all night at another love interest's place, likely having sex with them. They're choosing someone else to love, and Jack is probably barely keeping himself together as their attachment towards him wanes.
Jack has every reason to be pissed off in this scenario. Not only does this put him at risk, but this would make MC a cheater in the "yes" route. It's debatable if they would be one in the "no" route, since they did have sex, but it would no doubt still sting even if MC just regarded him as a friend with benefits.
It can leave Jack feeling hurt and betrayed. Remember how he questioned what more he could be doing in the "no" route? This is even worse. He tries to give MC everything - his love, patience, understanding, acceptance... even physical pleasure if that's what they want. Even still, they chose someone else to have sex with, showing even that wasn't enough to keep them.
So, yeah, this seems to be Jack having trouble remaining in MC's life while also feeling hurt and betrayed by them... and no doubt possessive and dangerous.
The lyrics might ask where MC was last night, but given Jack's supernatural abilities, I suspect that he knows exactly where they were, who they were with, and what they were doing... or rather who they were doing instead of him.
I suspect that Jack can go greater distances than a normal person can by walking while using his supernatural abilities. He might be able to track down MC or others he's targeted even at a distance. After all, he was haunting Nick for a while with those nightmares. If MC didn't come home one night, I'd expect Jack would go out looking for them.
MC probably got swept up with another love interest while Jack was at home waiting for them. They were late, so Jack went looking for them... and found his worst nightmare. He could've confronted them there and then, tried to stop them from what they were doing, but, as we've seen in the demo, when other people are taking MC's attention away from Jack, he has a difficult time bringing it back to him until they're alone or unless he exerts a little more pressure like the yes/no choice.
Given the situation, MC might have been way too distracted by their lover to even notice Jack... and I'm sure that it was emotionally devastating to Jack.
So Jack goes back to the apartment. He waits for MC, tries to figure out what to do, but he's hurt, betrayed, panicked... What more can he give them? What more can he do for them? What more do they want from him? What can that other man give them that he can't? He has to do damage control, make them feel the need to make it up to him and want to be closer to him, but he's also hurt.
Jack can't even confront the rival at that moment while they're with MC. His sunshine might see. Even if his jealousy and betrayal might make him not care, he can't risk them wanting him to go away.
So Jack waits for MC to come back, to confront them. No doubt he'll play his few remaining cards of guilt for leaving him behind and forgetting him for a night, while struggling to keep himself together, both emotionally and metaphysically.
Finally, when MC comes home the next day, it's to the scene in the picture.
Now... with all that said, considering how I've repeatedly stated that Jack and Alice are my OTP and I want to give them a happy ending in Sunshine in Hell... I think you can guess that this cheating scenario isn't going to happen between Alice and Jack, hahaha.
I did a post before about what a fight between Alice and Jack might look like, and how far it might go. It's very unlikely that it's going to go as far as what Jack's face is telling us here with all that anger he's showing, especially for such an implied awful reason.
For one thing, Alice wouldn't cheat. She wouldn't do it even before Ian cheated on her and showed her just how much it hurts to be cheated on. She also wouldn't be having sex outside of a relationship. Alice is on the aro/ace spectrum. On top of that, she has issues when it comes to sex. Between SA trauma and her first and only consenting sexual partner being, shall we say, less than attentive to her needs... she isn't interested in sleeping with people after the breakup with Ian. She needs to take it slow in order to trust a partner enough with that level of physical and emotional intimacy.
For Alice, sex with another person is something she can only do with a partner that she loves with the intention to make them happy and feel good. Sure she enjoys masturbation, but when other people have been involved, the sex has been, well... not great. The primary satisfaction she got from sex with Ian was his pleasure. Sadly, he never managed to make her orgasm, and it was actually uncomfortable and painful for her at times. She really did herself a disservice not advocating for her wants and comfort, but she didn't want to make Ian feel bad for a poor performance when it was too easy to hurt his feelings. Really, their troubled, one-sided sex life and lack of open and honest communication are a couple big reasons why her relationship with Ian deteriorated like it did.
I've mentioned before in some past posts, but the sexual intimacy Alice shares with Jack is going to start off slowly, and only after they're together in a romantic relationship. Because he takes her needs and comfort into account, she's pleasantly surprised to discover that sex with her partner actually can be pleasant, especially with a partner who makes sure she has multiple orgasms, and her libido increases as a result.
However, this newfound interest in having sex only applies to Jack, since Alice falls into the demisexual part of the ace spectrum. She loves him, and he's her partner. He makes her feel safe and good enough to actually want and enjoy sex.
If someone else hit Alice up for a one night stand, that would be a big pile of "NOPE!" from her. Even a friend propositioning her would make her feel wildly uncomfortable. She's just not comfortable with casual sex or sex without romantic attachment. Without that deep emotional connection of love, trust, and intimacy, sex is something intimidating and unwanted for her.
While I did consider a what if scenario where Alice and Shaun get together, that was a slow burn that took a long time for Alice to trust Shaun that intimately, and she never even knew of Jack's existence. How he would be as a lover and how that would affect her relationship with sex would be speculation best left for another post.
Jack isn't about to give Shaun or anyone else a chance to win Alice's heart when he's around, and with how much he fulfils her needs emotionally, she doesn't feel the need to consider getting into a relationship with anyone else.
Would Alice potentially get together with Nick if circumstances were right? No idea. I'd have to see more of how he interacts with others, especially his partner. I do know that him asking her out at work made her wildly uncomfortable and was definitely working against him. It's hard to say if it could work out between the two in an AU, even without Jack around.
Would Alice ever sleep with Ian again, even if just "for old time's sake" or "to say goodbye" and end things between them for good? Oh hell no. The only enjoyment she got out of sex with Ian was making him feel good because she loved him and trusted him with that level of intimacy. Needless to say, the trust is gone. Even after she tried forgiving him for cheating, she couldn't handle sex with him anymore. Ian is never getting into Alice's pants ever again.
That's all to say that even though Alice might improve her relationship with Ian, stay good friends with Shaun, and possibly befriend Nick if things go favorably... she's not going to think about sleeping with any of them, and certainly not with someone she doesn't know at all. Even then, she wouldn't even consider cheating on her partner.
So this situation of Jack waiting for Alice to come home, furious and upset that he caught her cheating, just isn't going to happen.
It would take a lot to make Jack angry with his sunshine, and I can't think of anything Alice would do to provoke that sort of glare from him.
Now, with all that said, would there be a scenario where Alice didn't come home one night and made Jack worry about where she was... maybe even worry about what she might be doing and who she was doing it with? I think so. Some places don't have landline phones, and Alice can't afford a second cell phone for Jack, so if she winds up unable to go home, she can't call him to let him know. It certainly provides some potential for drama... especially when Alice has a chronic illness that sometimes flares up beyond what her medication can handle.
So, as I said in the twitter thread, it sounds like a scenario just begging to be written out in a flashfic, so how about we do that now, shall we? Funny enough, as I was writing it, I wound up with something of a sequel to a previous flashfic I wrote a little while ago. I hope you enjoy this piece of hurt/comfort fluff between Jack and Alice!

...
Alice was late. She should have been home over half an hour ago. The dinner Jack made with love in anticipation of her return had already gone cold.
Jack tried not to let the ticking of the clock get to him. He tried not to overthink what it could mean. He tried to ignore the twisting inside his gut that kept him looking at the clock despite himself. It hadn’t been that long since Alice was supposed to be home. It wasn’t strange to be a little bit late like this. After all, that gosh darn manager of hers was always springing overtime on her after she was supposed to clock out, or she had to stay longer to clean up some mess Carol left behind for her to take care of.
But Alice wasn’t at work. She wasn’t a mere ten minute walk away. She left in her car after lunch, saying that she had errands to do without ever telling him exactly what those errands were.
Like a fool, Jack let her go anyway. He let her kiss distract him from asking questions. Her, “I love you,” left him feeling too happy and flustered to think too much about why she wanted to go alone. She promised to be home in time for dinner, but that promise had been broken half an hour ago.
Jack wished that he could call Alice and check on her, find out what was keeping her and when she was coming home to him. He had her cell phone number memorized, but he didn’t have one of his own that he could use to call her, and the apartment had no landline phone.
Where was Alice? What were the errands that kept her away from him? Why was she late? Jack could kick himself for not getting a straight answer before she left, or for not trying harder to go with her. She could be anywhere by now, be with anyone.
Including that darn Ian.
The nightmare from the night before flashed through his mind. Jack could still vividly remember the helplessness he felt trapped behind the screen as Alice kissed Ian and professed her love for the fake pretending to be him. The memory made his insides twist into knots.
Jack gave himself a hard mental shake. “What am I thinking?” he muttered under his breath, chiding himself for the very thought. It was almost as if he was suspecting Alice of cheating on him. That was absurd. How could he, Sunny Day Jack, think something like that of his sunshine? Sunny Day Jack didn’t get jealous or possessive of anyone, and he certainly wouldn’t suspect his beloved sunshine, the sweetest and kindest person in the world, who loved him just as much as he loved her, on the basis of her simply being out late.
He wasn’t a fake pretending to be Sunny Day Jack like Ian intended to do with that farce of a reboot that lied about being the first and only SunnyTime Crew Show.
Ever since Jack heard about the show and Ian’s part in it, he had been on edge, and the nightmare he experienced didn’t help. The only bright spot in everything was Alice. He still vividly remembered the way she comforted him that night, promising to always be there for him as she held him close and sang the sweetest song to soothe away all his woes and worries.
So why wasn’t she here now?
“I better check to see if she’s okay,” Jack mumbled to himself. He promised to be there when Alice got home, but she also promised to be home forty-five minutes ago, so it was only fair.
…
A rest stop was far from an ideal place for a woman traveling alone to lie down in her car, but at least it beat pulling over at the side of the road in the middle of the desert. Unfortunately, Alice didn’t have a lot of options at the moment. At least the tinted windows blocked prying eyes as effectively as they did the scorching Texas sun.
Pain tore her attention away from potential threats outside the car and turned her attention inward. Alice bit back a whimper, instead hissing ragged breaths through gritted teeth as she did her best to ride through the intensifying sensation of jagged blades cutting and twisting through her insides. The pain rolled in like the tide until it flooded her senses and made her eyes sting with tears, leaving her helpless but to wait for it to recede again to something a little more bearable.
Eventually the pain lessened, at least enough that her breathing came a little more easily. Still, Alice took care to move as little as possible from the reclined front seat while she carefully lifted up the cell phone that she held in a death grip. Through watery eyes she saw that ten minutes had passed since she took her medicine.
Only ten minutes. Fuck. It was going to be at least twenty more before Alice started noticing any real difference. She wished that she had better, faster acting painkillers for these attacks, but there was nothing she could do about that now.
Shit. It had been weeks since Alice last had an attack like this. Why did one have to happen while she was out on her own like this? Why couldn’t it happen at home? At least there she wouldn’t be alone and so vulnerable. At least Jack would be there to take care of her.
Alice was supposed to be home almost an hour ago. If it wasn’t bad enough that things had dragged on way longer than she anticipated, her chronic illness decided to flare up at the worst possible timing - right when she was driving down the middle of the highway. It was all she could do to force herself to keep driving until she was someplace at least relatively safer to park.
“Fuck,” Alice hissed as she carefully lowered the phone, wincing how even speaking made her insides twinge in pain. Jack was probably worried by now, and she couldn’t even call him. She was too used to having him always around; she never considered something like this happening. She could kick herself for taking for granted that it had been so long since her last attack.
Helplessly, Alice couldn’t do anything but wait for the medicine to take the edge off the pain. As another intense wave rolled over her, it was all she could do not to give in to the instinctive urge to double over as pain tore through her insides without mercy. She knew well from experience that any pressure on her abdomen would only make this hell even worse. She clawed instead at the seat’s cushion and her thigh in a desperate attempt to distract herself from the pain as she tried to keep her breathing even.
I wish Jack was here.
“Alice?”
Alice flinched at the sound of her name. For a moment, she thought that she only imagined it, but that unmistakable voice came again from just outside the car.
“Alice?” Jack repeated a little louder this time, his worry only increasing. He could feel Alice’s pain leaking through their connection even before he saw the agony twisted in her expression through the car’s tinted window. “Are you okay? Can you unlock the door?”
Relief washed over Alice almost as intense as the pain as she realized that Jack really was there. She tried to keep her movements minimal as she dropped her phone on the center console beside her car keys before pushing the unlock button.
No sooner than Jack heard the click than he threw the door open and leaned inside, practically covering her like a blanket, though he was careful not to put any of his weight on her. “Don’t worry, sunshine, I’m here.”
“Jack…,” Alice forced out through ragged breaths, her voice cracking with pain. “I-I’m s-sor-”
Jack shushed her gently. “It’s okay.” He touched her cheek delicately, afraid of making things worse. “You don’t have to talk if it’s too hard for you right now. I’m not going anywhere, sunshine. Don’t worry… I’ll take care of you.”
Alice held her fist up and bobbed it up and down, which Jack recognized her as signing, “Yes.”
Jack managed a small but encouraging smile at that. “Is it your illness acting up again?” When Alice nodded her hand again, his heart went out to her. He knew about her chronic illness, particularly that it couldn’t be cured. Her medicine managed it most of the time, but sometimes it wasn’t enough to stop an attack from leaving her debilitated. “Do you need to go to the hospital?”
Alice grimaced and brought two fingers up before bringing them down on her thumb in a definitive, “No.”
“I see… that’s good at least,” Jack said, the words coming out in nearly a sigh of relief. “Do you need me to bring you any medicine?” Another negative indication. “I see… You took some already, is that right?” A nod of her fist. “Good, good… Then we’ll just wait here until you’re feeling better.” When her fist moved again in the affirmative, he took her hand in his and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Don’t worry, I won’t go anywhere.”
Alice returned the gesture, but her gentle squeeze quickly turned into a crushing grip as the pain intensified again. She forced herself to release him, but Jack refused to let her go and placed his other hand to secure her grip on him.
“It’s okay,” Jack said soothingly. “You can keep squeezing me if you need to. If it helps you deal with the pain, you can squeeze as hard as you like.” He offered her a lopsided smile that would have been more playful if his eyes weren’t so filled with concern for her. “Don’t worry, I can take it.”
Reluctantly, Alice tightened her grip on his hand again until her knuckles turned white as she rode through the latest wave of pain. When she could breathe a little more easily, her hold on him slackened, and her mind began to focus on the situation.
How did Jack find her? How did he get here? She was in the middle of nowhere, miles from home. Was this part of his supernatural abilities too?
Upon remembering where they were, Alice felt a shiver run through her, and her eyes darted to the darkened parking lot. She could see Jack with her, someone big and imposing, but anyone who happened to come by would only see a vulnerable short woman lying down in her car, illuminated by her car light. It was practically an invitation to rob her, steal her car, or worse. Could Jack stop someone if they decided to take advantage of the situation?
Jack caught the frightened thought right away. “Hold on, let me get inside.”
Just like that, the car was soon locked and dark once more, with Jack seated in the now reclined passenger seat so that he could be as close to Alice as possible. He took her hand in his and with the other hand he stroked her forehead, brushing sweat and strands of her hair away from her watery eyes.
“There now,” Jack said, his voice soft and soothing. “You’re safe here with me, Alice. Don’t worry, I won’t let anything bad happen to you. We’ll wait here until the medicine starts working. When you feel ready to go, I’ll drive us home.”
Alice furrowed her brow before deliberately raising her eyebrows as she pointed at Jack.
Jack chuckled as he caught the simple signed question. “Yes me, silly. You’re in no shape to drive, and you need to rest. We’ll switch seats as soon as you’re feeling a little better.”
Alice frowned a little, as what she wanted to say required too much movement for her to accurately convey her meaning without the risk of causing the pain to intensify.
Fortunately, she didn’t have to, as Jack picked up on her fears immediately. “Don’t worry, it’s too dark for anyone to see who’s driving the car.” He paused to chuckle. “Or ‘not’ driving.” He bent down to kiss her forehead and smooth the furrows from her brow. “You don’t need to worry about anything like that. All you need to focus on right now is feeling better.”
Alice sighed at the gentle kisses he pressed upon her flushed skin, though her breathing was still ragged and harsh. She nodded with her fist again as she focused on Jack, his gentle presence soothing her far more than the medicine.
Jack leaned back just enough to see his sunshine’s face. He wanted to hold her close, but he knew about her condition, particularly how pressure on her abdomen, especially in the wrong spot, could make it so much worse. It made him careful how he touched her, softly stroking her brow and letting her squeeze his hand until the pain subsided.
When silence settled in between them, Alice grunted. She wiggled her fingers in front of her mouth before pointing at Jack and raising her eyebrows.
Jack nodded in understanding as he smiled gently at her. “Of course, sunshine. I can talk as much as you want. Don’t worry about needing to respond either. Just focus only on me and my voice. Don’t pay attention to anything else.”
Alice squeezed his hand again, but gently and intentionally this time. His voice, soft and smooth, flowed over her like water on a burn. It didn’t magically make her pain disappear, but hearing him talking to her and feeling his gentle touches grounded her, reminding her that she wasn’t alone and vulnerable. She had Jack with her now.
“That’s right, Alice,” he said. “I’m right here. I won’t let anything happen to you, sunshine.” Gently, he dabbed away at the wetness that still lingered in her eyes. “You don’t have to worry about anything anymore. I promise, I’ll always take care of you… forever.”
As the pain started to ebb again, Alice managed a weak smile. She held up a hand in a particular gesture that made Jack’s heartbeat quicken when he realized what she was signing.
“I love you too, Alice,” Jack said before pressing a soft kiss on her lips, which she weakly returned. “I love you so much, Alice… my sunshine.”
The pain radiating from Alice was horrible, and it took all of his acting skills to make sure that she didn’t realize that Jack felt it too. He could feel it even more clearly with how close they were like this, but he refused to leave his sunshine to suffer alone. The worst part was that he was sure that the pain he felt at that moment was only a fraction of what she was experiencing.
“You’re so strong,” Jack said, his voice hushed with admiration. “You’re doing so well. I’m so proud of you.” He kissed her forehead again and was rewarded with a soft, but pleased sigh from her in return. “That’s it, just focus on me. You don’t have to face this alone anymore. I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.”
Alice squeezed his hand again in gentle affirmation as she closed her eyes to focus on his soothing voice and gentle warmth.
Despite the situation, relief washed over Jack, and he could feel some of the same emotion coming from Alice as well. A small pang of guilt crept in underneath it, but he hid such feelings from her. She didn’t need to worry about the irrational fear he had before, that silly split-second when a part of him feared the worst, no matter how impossible that was. It felt laughable now to think that this precious ray of sunshine in front of him could’ve been doing anything as awful as cheating on him, not when he could practically taste her love and gratitude for him as clearly as the pain that - mercifully - was starting to wane.
Jack knew that it was silly to let some stupid nightmare influence him like this, no matter how awful it was. Alice didn’t deserve to be suspected of such a thing, not even for an instant, and especially not during a time when she was suffering so much. She needed him. For as much as he hated that she was suffering, he couldn’t help but feel relieved by that simple truth.
A flash of inspiration struck Jack, chasing away his gloomy thoughts. “Oh! I know. How about I sing a song for you? Would you like that, sunshine?”
Alice opened her eyes again and answered with a soft smile and another bob of her fist.
“Now how did it go…?” Jack turned his eyes up towards the roof of the car as he thought back to the song Alice sang for him. He didn’t remember the first part, but he could improvise, making up new lyrics for the same sweet melody that she shared for him. It was their song now, in his mind, and he made sure to let his sunshine know with his version of the lyrics that he would be here for her no matter what storms and pain may come to help her shine bright with happiness.
Alice couldn’t help but smile crookedly as Jack changed the song, but somehow she liked his version better. She made a mental note to tell him later when she felt well enough to speak again. For now though, she let his gentle voice cast its soothing spell over her, filling her with love and slowly chasing away the pain.
Jack continued to sing until he was certain that Alice had fallen asleep. He pressed another sweet kiss to her forehead and used his influence to make sure that she wouldn’t wake up until she was safely back home in bed with him.
“Sweet dreams, sunshine.”

Brock kept the small locket with your photo; no one but him knew of the existence of that object. That day, maybe it would be his last mission, his last chance to see you. He had a feeling about what would happen, although he could not discern whether it would be good or bad.
He loves you, and he knew that you loved him too, but neither of us dared to take the first step, nor would he forget the look on your face when you discovered who he really was.
He cursed when Steve forced him into the vehicle; indeed, the mission had not gone as he had planned. He knew what would happen, but he would manage to escape.
He had always liked interrogations, but he preferred to carry them out and not be asked the questions himself.
He was sure that Rogers would be the one interrogating him, so he would do everything he could to make him mad and not get any answers. Steve had ruined his life.
Twenty minutes before the door opened, Brock settled into his seat, though he was suddenly confused when he saw you come in instead of Steve.
"It's been a long time," you said, looking at him.
"I can explain," Brock commented, pretending to be disinterested. He wasn't going to let you realize that you had surprised him; he was completely sure that Steve wouldn't miss the opportunity to get information from one of his enemies.
"What are you going to explain to me, Brock? Why were you trying to steal a highly dangerous substance? Or why were you part of HYDRA? " you scoffed.
"Whatever you want, although I guess you're more interested in knowing the former, I guess you're going to record it." Brock's voice sounded sarcastic.
"No one knows I'm here; in fact, no one suspects it, so no cameras," you commented.
Yes, you had used your powers for that; no one would notice that you were talking or anything that happened there. You could even be there for hours and they wouldn't notice it; in reality, it would only be less than a second.
"I know you like me," he said suddenly.
"You don't know anything, Brock."
"I know how you feel about me; I know what you thought about me that day; I saw everything in your eyes; I know too many things... "
"Don't try to be funny, Rumlow; I didn't come here to talk about that," "you said.
"I used to be a sweet kid."
"What? "
"I had a good childhood; my father was military, kind of strict, but still. You know, sometimes things happen for a reason; I didn't expect to be an orphan at sixteen."
"Did that make you what you are now? Is that how you justify everything you've done? "
"Not exactly, but that's how I ended up in the HYDRA facility."
Brock kept telling you everything that had happened in his life as you tried to decipher his intentions. In the end, he was right; you were in love with him, but you needed to know what his plan was. Anyway, it seemed like it was a forbidden love, but how many things hadn't you already done in hiding from the organization?
"Why are you telling me all this?"
"As soon as you said it, I realized, we're not in the cell at the base, are we?"
"Do you really care where we are?"
"No, of course, we could do other things," Brock suggested suggestively.
You smiled. They wouldn't do anything there, but somewhere else.
"Don't worry, I'll show you the plan later, but in the meantime, you must be ready; at any moment, I'll take you out of here," you told him.
Before Brock could say anything else, he was already alone in the room again; however, this time he was smiling. He was going to get out of there, and in the best way possible, with your help.
He looked up when he heard the door open again; this time it was Steve, so he smirked.

OKAY OKAY OKAY TSATS THEORY ABOUT THE ENDING HERE
(Spoilers for the preview)
So I know we all saw Twitter and how Rick and Mark said no one has even been CLOSE to predicting the ending of TSATS, but I’ve been thinking about it and I’m very sure neither Will or Nico will die in this book.
There was this one line from the preview that really stuck out to me. It was the line about a mortals life not being equal to an immortals. And this is the key to my theory.
SO IT GOES:
There has to be three people going on a quest. Right? We have Will and Nico (obvs) but who is the third? Someone immortal, whose life is equal to a titans? Someone we know and love?
I think the third person going on this quest is the one who is going to die, because let’s face it, not everyone is going to make it out of Tartarus alive.
Out of all of the immortal beings we know; the gods, the titans, nymphs and so on, we’ve never seen them going on a quest… except for…The Hunters of Artemis. I know i’m reaching for this just bear with me for a minute.
We don’t really know any hunters do we? Only their names, maybe, but no one we really know?
EXCEPT FOR THALIA GRACE
yes so I am most very likely wrong but some other evidence/possibilities for my theory;
- this could be a great scenario for Thalia and Nicos relationship to be reflected upon; as they have a rough relationship (they have so much in common now that I think about it!?)
- Rick has talked about writing a book about the hunters in the past and this could be an opportunity to do that after the books release.
- It would bring back the fan favourite and be a very tragic (Ancient Greek) ending with both of the grace siblings dying in the end.
- JASON AND THALIA GET TO GO TO ELYSIUM TOGETHER AND BE REUNITED!?????

I don't think ackerbond is real either (and I don't want it to be). But what strikes me about what other shippers say is that it doesn't mean that they are genetically loyal, but that they have special relationships that they voluntarily choose to be loyal to (or protect). and they quote Isayama's 2016 interview in which he talks about the ackerman and their close associates. (You know, the famous shipper quote where he says Eren for Mikasa, Uri for Kenny, Erwin for Levi when asked who this person is.) In short, they say that it is not because of blood ties and genetics, but because they choose to follow the people they choose, to be loyal, without any genetics and without any compulsion.
I saw Anon's link on twitter and I'm honestly conflicted whether to read it or not for fear of seeing something I'm uncomfortable with (yes another insecure Levi lover here)
But from the accounts I have seen from people who have read the translation, the "ackerbond" here is less about the overly romanticized relationship of "master-slave" and more about the (unromanticized) relationship between the two of them, focusing on Erwin and Levi, and more about the relationship between them as boss and employee, vassal and lord. I don't know… All I'm saying is that I wish Isayama would shut his shitty mouth and not do such stupid weird interviews in an effort to be in the spotlight and people wouldn't come up with this shitty concept.
Honestly, what I agree with the most is that Isayama should just… stay quiet for a little bit, lmao. I've mentioned this before, but Isayama treats interviews like nail appointments—he doesn't really think about what he says. You can clearly see he's not prepared for the questions, and he simply replies with the most random ideas that come to mind. That's why he often has to correct himself in later interviews.
He treats interviews as opportunities to ramble about random ideas and then retracts his words later. I think the Ackerbond is a very weird concept, to be honest. I feel zero devotion from Kenny to Uri. Maybe Kenny respects Uri's power or follows him because it's convenient, but I don't see nearly half of the obsession or devotion that Mikasa seems to have for Eren.
I've always thought that Levi followed Erwin as someone follows a politician. You don't have to agree with everything they say or even be in love with them; you believe in their cause and the cause of the "political party." I've always thought that Levi followed Erwin because Erwin was the leader of the "new era" of the scouts and Levi believed in what the scouts could achieve. I've never seen it as romantic.
It's like admiring your boss because they are wise—you don't have to want to sleep with them because of that, lmao.
But honestly, I want to stay as far away from shippers as possible, so this may be the only ask I answer about it. Please, don't take it as a offense about you! (That's why I won't even add tags)
Have a lovely day!

did u see this whole millie bobby brown disclosure? Her saying that she doesn’t watch movies because she thinks it’s too long and she can’t just sit and watch. and this is sadly typical behavior from nepo babies and those kids that were essentially made to be actors by their parents. they don’t feel real love for the craft but get so many opportunities than other actors that study cinema and are very knowledgeable barely get.
but i think only actors that love cinema are able to transcend and work for a long time. a lot of people were calling Austin Butler pretentious but I find his knowledge of cinema admirable. chalamet also got called pretentious once for referencing a lot of movies but I find that normal because studying cinema as an actor should be your job? it’s part of the preparation? A look at the career both of them have… it’s easy to know when an actors loves the craft by how they speak, Florence’s hot wings interview was very insightful and you can tell she pays attention to every element of filmmaking.
For instance, I remember watching an interview w Tom Holland and I find him a charming guy but I really dislike how he once joked and made fun of a very valid question about studying process for a role - it doesn’t seem that he takes the craft that seriously and I find the instances of where he didn’t know who certain directors were and when he said Scorsese couldn’t direct a Marvel film so crazy considering how he has been the pioneer of so many “blockbuster” in its time, and his lack of cinema knowledge shows in the quality of his choices for roles.
I feel a lot of actors don’t realize that by saying things like they they get a lot of doors slammed in their face.
I'm late replying again sorry but all of this, yes. I tried not thinking about it too much but it definitely irks me. And I think there are a loooot of people of tbh all ages that feel this way. But it does particularly suck for someone making movies to feel this way? (I did see some conversation on twitter between people who actually work on film sets and they said this is common, particularly among like crew members like gaffers, lighting, etc etc.)
YES. This is why when "pretentious" discourse goes around because like Jacob Elordi talks about Marlon Brando (not his method acting, but just his acting) or old movies, people make fun of him and say he's just a try-hard hipster. But maybe... he loves acting and wants to improve his craft? Like, I agree. It's something that should come from a place of love and wanting to get better. We can't all be Hugh Grant and annoyed at the world all the time lmao. And like you said, same with Austin, Timothee, hell, remember the Jeremy Strong "dramaturgical" discourse that people freaked out about for a week because he used... a common theater word? Lmfao.
It's like, when letterboxd does their asking an actor or director their four favorites, there's always people in the comments saying they don't believe that an old French movie or hell even a 70s movie (that isn't The Godfather or Star Wars, bc apparently Jaws is pretentious?? LMAO), could be someone's fav and they're lying to look good. But if someone lists a bunch of animated Disney children's movies, La La Land, and Scott Pilgrim then they must be telling the truth. Maybe they both are? But god it's so frustrating to think that having taste beyond the basics is pretentious. Like, people call CHRISTOPHER NOLAN MOVIES PRETENTIOUS. Just because something is mildly to extremely clever or smart doesn't mean it's pretentious :)
Rant over lmao.
I need to watch Florence on Hot Ones still but I loved seeing bits of her on the press tour for Oppenheimer and I saw a clip of her and Zendaya talking about the craft of cinematography (linked) and how like Flo told her story about the camera breaking on Oppenheimer, and Z talked about like how she loves sitting in the tent w the Dune cinematographer and learning how everything works. Like, they love filmmaking!!! And I love that! This is how actors become better, and can produce, and even direct successfully. (Z I think definitely will. She'd had plans to direct at least one Euphoria ep but of course shitshow that it is, it hasn't happened yet.)
But yeah agreed about Tom Holland it's all soooo. Idk. You can very much tell when someone really loved movies and the process of how they are made, or not. And that's the truth whether someone's favorite movie is Godzilla v. Kong or Breathless. But yes!!! I truly don't understand why they say things like that, like... unless you want a door closed, don't close it for no reason! Lmao. Ayo Edebiri has talked about this recently.
I really don't get that w Scorsese of all people too like... all his movies are fucking popcorn movies. It's all cinema but who the hell is thinking Goodfellas is boring? Or The Aviator? Hell, I just watched Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. It has a batshit opening and is suuuch a fast-paced movie for what it is like, about a woman coming to terms w loss and making it on her own w her annoying kid (affectionate) and domestic violence I just ?? I don't get it myself! And pretending Scorsese actually has a war against Marvel is stupid as fuck. I wish he did! Someone should.
#asks#anonymous#celeb talk#i got way off topic but i agree w all ou said and your examples too are great

since i saw you have so many zuck post and i'm a little bit invest in it like you so i want to ask some question about threads since i don't want to have another social media because i have so much now
1. does moskovitz actually interact with zuck there? i saw them following each other
2. does saverin made an account and followed zuck?? since i don't know if that is his real account, tbh if he actually followed zuck, became one of the new users on threads i'd be surprised because i thought he already didn't care much about either fb or meta in general
also I saw zuck posting tsn reference there for threads and commenting gif of tsn too
sorry for my sloppy english, hope you reply
Hi anon! Thank you for your ask!
What I need everyone on Tumblr to know is that Mark is basically trying to reinvent himself. He's been the butt of a lot of jokes for about a decade now, and this bout with Elon, and Elon's fumbling of Twitter, has presented a prime opportunity for Mark to reboot his public image. This means he's responding to people's posts on Threads, making jokes, and yes, referencing The Social Network.
Now to your questions:
Yes! Dustin and Mark are actually still really close. Dustin's mentioned going on vacation with Mark fairly regularly (for whatever that means for them). Dustin had access to the pre-release launch of Threads and was user # 3037 (as indicated on his Instagram account), and he generally talks about Mark a lot, mostly to defend him/hype him up. He's been talking about Mark a lot lately, because of the drama with Musk and with the launch of Threads, but Mark has been pretty consistently mentioned in his Twitter posts, going back for years. Dustin seems to be particularly excited about Threads, probably because he feels let down by Twitter and the promise of Bluesky, and also because Dustin still owns a 0.6% stake in Meta, which is worth something like $5 billion. Dustin as well as other early Facebook employees have expressed a feeling of nostalgia and excitement akin to the early days of the company, both from the product development side as well as from the consumer side. Anyway, it seems that Dustin's penchant for micro-blogging and Mark's role to promote Meta's new app have combined and allowed them to publicly communicate for the first time in at least a decade. It has been, honestly, delightful to watch. See the bottom of the post for screenshots of their interactions.
Judging by the Instagram account linked to the Threads account, Saverin really is following Mark. (I judged whether or not the Insta account was real by scrolling through who he follows: some weather accounts, someone with the last name that's the same as his wife, someone who's either a sister or cousin, Fox News. These interests correspond with the types of accounts he follows on Twitter; it's most likely really him.) I agree, it is kinda of insane that Saverin joined so early; it's possible he sold the rest of his shares because B Capital got a big infusion of money at the end of 2022, which corresponds with the fund they raised earlier this year. It's also possible he converted his shares from Class A to Class B, but this move still loses him power. He doesn't really have any incentive to be interested in Meta, not anymore. And yet, Saverin was just under the 2 millionth member to join Threads (1,920,187). Taking into account that 30 million people(/brands) joined Threads in the first day, Saverin was an early adopter. At the same time however, in addition to likely not having any financial interest in the company, Saverin doesn't post very often on Twitter (most of which are reposts of articles) and has only ever posted to Instagram twice, and not since 2014 at that. It's interesting to me that he apparently cares so much to be on Threads so early since he doesn't seem to be that fond of micro-blogging or Instagram anyway. At the least, he is a private person, more private than even Mark has ever been, and he is likely on Threads to lurk rather than to post. Which brings me to the point that Saverin is following Mark. He's also following a number of influential Meta people, including important early employees (none of them follow him back). Combined with the fact that Saverin consistently puts "Facebook co-founder" at the top of all of his bios, regardless of his current projects and investments, this paints an image of a petty man who wants to be relevant. It may be interesting that Saverin follows Mark, but don't expect anything to come of it. Saverin lost his chance to make any amends with Mark and anyone else a long time ago.
Bonus: Mark posting a TSN gif? For some reason?? Even though the post he was replying to didn't even mention TSN? (it's a screenshot of the gif of the moment when Eduardo gives Mark the money to go to Palo Alto for the summer while they're hiring interns)
#idk if you were prepared for a post this long but that's what you're getting lol#once again a friendly reminder that if you (person reading this) make lizard/robot/etc jokes about Mark I Will block you#it is not funny#it is antisemitic and dehumanizing#also you can tell I don't like eduardo irl because i refer to him as saverin lmao#zuck posting#threads#mark zuckerberg#dustin moskovitz#eduardo saverin#disclaimer: I am on threads Exclusively to find out more tech stuff#a lot of tech people (reporters; founders; engineers; etc) are flocking to threads and I am taking advantage of it#yes that Is dustin making a tsn reference and mark practically acknowledging it

As promised here’s my long Brettsey post, because Chicago Fire pulled me back in despite my hesitancy.
Okay, to start with, I’m probably somewhat delusional, but that didn’t feel like an open-ended storyline nor closure. It felt like an opening for either a recurring role for Jesse next season or a Kara exit.
They had two chances to give Brettsey closure. At the end of season 10 at the Stellaride wedding and this last episode. Neither happened. Everyone was worried they’d have Matt say that he was happy for Sylvie in her new “serious relationship”. And that he was happy in Portland. Which was totally implied in the season 10 finale. Either they threw that in for the drama of it all or the writers now know something they didn’t know at the time.
Thinking back to Jesse’s exit interviews and Haas talking about the long distance problems and obstacles, it feels like this was maybe somewhat planned out. Outside of the little things like Sylvie losing her phone for a bit in an episode and her and Matt not being able to catch each other at the right time, there weren’t very many obstacles for them in season 10. She went to visit him twice and only when she came back the second time did the problems start to show. Then they broke up in the season 11 premiere. And honestly what main Fire couple hasn’t broken up at least once for the drama? Brettsey’s was different because Jesse left right after they got together. Also, as the anon brought up earlier, Jesse even said he’d pop in once Sylvie got in a new relationship and look what happened, lmao.
Now to the episode itself. Despite how sad the ending was, it gave me more hope than 10x05 did. Which, tbf, while I was more than happy they decided to try the long distance thing, I knew it’d be unlikely to be successful in the long run. They could have used this opportunity to give Brettsey real closure like Haas was trying to do in 9x15 for D@wsey. He just couldn’t get Monica back so he had to improvise by having Matt say he wasn’t in love with her anymore after the phone call. That they weren’t in love with each other anymore. Matt all but admitted he couldn’t move on because he was still in love with Sylvie to Stella. That’s a big parallel to season 9 when he said being with other people makes it worse. He didn’t have that problem when he hooked up with the reporter after his divorce. Why go this route if there’s no plan to get them back together? I mean I know the Fire writers are cruel but they’re not stupid. Or that stupid anyway. And Sylvie? Poor Sylvie. I think they captured it perfectly. She thought she was moving on until she saw Matt again. Then after the hug? That was it. She knew she wasn’t over him. Showing her crying? Weirdly enough gave me hope. This is all leading somewhere because the easiest thing would have been to give them closure.
This is leading to one of two things, I think. Matt coming back via a recurring role for Jesse. Which seems like the more likely scenario considering the other hints we got with Matt telling Boden that Chicago was home and that a few things had to fall in place to come back, etc. Plus Jesse talking about wanting to come back for appearances but not full time. They could easily have him in a handful of episodes and make it work. Second thing would be a Kara exit. Yes, they’ve written it as she didn’t want to leave for another guy and Chicago is her home. But Matt isn’t just a guy. He’s the love of her life (thank you Wolf Entertainment Twitter for admitting that) and she’s obviously not happy without him. They could have her expand paramedicine out to Portland and become a paramedic out there. She wouldn’t be giving up her career and life for someone else. She’d just be changing location. But this really does feel like more of a set up for a Matt comeback on a part time basis.
Anyway, I’m preparing to be a clown about all of this.

Oh man, this is a question. how do you think engaging with each other through tumblr, twitter, comments, kudos, creates healthy fandom experiences? How do you deal with that if you're not a social person/experience social anxiety?
The cool part of fandom is finding friends where you can shout about a terrible idea that just came to you, and someone will pick that ball up and say, “Yes. And Revali would be there too.” And then you get to flesh out some wild idea, thinking about characters you love with your friends. So the opportunity for that through interaction is great.
The avenues for those interaction are the same avenues open for people telling me that I don’t understand Zelda, or I’m a prude, or for people to randomly yuck my yum. So it is a double edged sword. And the only healthy way to engage is to 1. Be a grown up and know when you’re talking to a literal child wanting to start drama for no reason, and 2. Not get horrible harassment. I have no control over that last one! The only reason I’m able to do 2. Is because I’m a white dude, and I am very aware that my experience is not the same as other people’s. So it’s my job to not be on the other end of 2. And to not be a random dick to people on the internet and don’t hang out with people who are random dicks on the internet.
As for if you’re dealing with social anxiety, then just leaving nice comments is always a way for people to come to recognize your name and associate it with “they seem cool.” There is a dude named “Dan” who just leaves nice reviews. And every time I’m like “Yo! It’s Dan!” And if I ever saw Dan anywhere else around, I would automatically assume we are friends. We’re cool already. So try that? Just…be nice? Say you like something and leave without expecting or dreading a conversation and eventually that does build up a relationship that can grow when you feel comfortable enough.

Hii! I remember talking to you about this (Idk when? I have a bad concept of time so maybe a year ago? Or more) and i’m back because it’s 2 am and i was thinking about this (mainly because i saw a comment about it.) It said something along the lines of “it’s so weird how insecure she (selena) is, it’s like she has no self confidence.” (I think they were referencing either her looks or music?) and another one about how god made her pretty and successful yet she is insecure. It made me think about how when selena said that justin was emotionally abusive (putting down her body, how she dressed, her tour, etc. for years) and most people responded with “well she was toxic too” (even when justin said that he abusive in relationships and mean to women (i dont remember the quote). Anyway all that to say is that all i could think was (sarcastically) wow how weird that emotional abuse has consequences on someone’s mental health. Also it made me think about how social media algorithm works and how because of who she is, she likely is recommended post about herself and how that can be triggering (? Idk if that is the right word, english isn’t my first language). Sorry for rambling in your inbox
hiii i remember u!! ❤️
yes, i can see she’s a bit too self-deprecating at times but like u said, she was in an emotionally abusive relationship for years! not to mention, everything in her life is scrutinized under a microscope and she is villainized for quite literally everything. i genuinely think there’s just a lot of casual ableism (as well as general misogyny) when it comes to her.
u don’t have to like her, but to deny the fact that she was a victim of jb’s emotional abuse is insane. he literally admitted to it!! but every male obsessed loser decided she’s not allowed to speak about it. she has also been open about her chronic illness and her kidney transplant and everyone on the internet took it upon themselves to scrutinize every single interaction between her and francia. they constantly make jokes about her kidney as if she didn’t almost die from it. she’s also been open about her bipolar disorder and u have people on twitter constantly joking about her manic episodes, even going so far as to say that she must threaten to khs to keep taylor’s friendship??? i’m so disgusted to see these types of tweets, especially when she (if i remember correctly) actually had suicidal ideation at some point
so yeah, i honestly can see why she struggles with her self-worth at times. hopefully, with all the new opportunities in her life and her relationship, she can heal ❤️🩹

Have any of you running the blog ever have someone in the family who excelled at just sweeping extraneous time wasting material off to the side (like the fandom fake wedding/fake drugs/fake PR fodder)--out of sight out of mind style and focusing on the topics that are adjacent to the industry? (like my mother the way she does when I try and distract her about grandbaby talk).
If so, can we talk about awards season which will be here before we know it? Ignoring the actual hardware, who do y'all think is going to bring it fashion wise? Who is going to be THE interview? Do you think the strikes will be resolved in the next two months before fourth quarter earnings? I completely get this is a Chris Evans centric blog but you have always been willing to entertain the 'extra' cherry on the sundae discussions. I know it seems early, but honestly with the strike I'm desperate for something that is at least film/industry related and bless his heart Chris is probably getting busy as a newlywed so.....
*I pinky swear I'm not trolling but the drug talk really was upsetting from a 'how would anyone know this to be true that hasn't actually met the man' perspective'....I know it's a minority of the fandom but wow, it's just the head shaking wonder of it all. I saw an actual timeline that was qanon worthy in its minutiae of detail and that's ten minutes of my life that will never return....thanks for all that you do to keep the peace.
Yeeeees! I love chatting award season! Although I have to admit I’m SO far behind on keeping up with potential contenders. Usually in late summer/early fall I always put together a big spread sheet of movies that are potential awards contenders with their release dates and if it’ll be theatrical or streaming, plus the categories I think it could fall under. It’s a big thing but it helps me keep track of what I need/want to watch as I go. I’ve just been really busy this fall and never got around to making that list yet 😂
I really hope the strike ends soon, because I’d love to listen to some people talk about their work. Yes, I want to see the fun interviews like a lot of us hoped to see with Chris and Emily Blunt or Chris and The Rock, but I’d also love to see insightful conversations around movies like Killers of the Flower Moon. Lily Gladstone has been trending on my twitter page for the last 3 days and I’d just love to get to hear her talk about the film making process, but also what her success and the praise she’s receiving means to her. I can’t imagine being excited that you’re being recognized for your work paired with the disappointment of not being able to talk about it at all. It’s a bummer to see people miss the opportunity to get to talk about their work. I really hope the strike is resolved soon, but I’ll be curious to see what happens with award season going forward if it isn’t. It makes me wonder if they’ll postpone or even cancel the awards?
I’ve still not seen Barbie and Oppenheimer (I know, I know 😭) but I’m also dying to see Killers of the Flower Moon, Napoleon, Maestro, The Color Purple, and The Bikeriders. And that’s just off the top of my head. I know I’m missing plenty of other movies that are very promising. What about you? Which movies are you most looking forward to? 🦎

So a trend I've been seeing, and not quite aligning with in transmisogyny discourse, namely discourse over the B*rbie movie ending on here (which, non-transfems should be fucking off from), and twitter discourse on body hair, is a sort of choice to differentiate instead of to show solidarity, in circumstances where I actually see solidarity being the better choice.
Because the point where solidarity stops being the correct option is when something is not speaking in favor of your interests, and I think that in both of these cases the transmisogyny present actually presented ample opportunity for favorable outcomes. In fact I think a lot of transmisogynistic discourse is doing the same thing to us, claiming differentiation and appropriation when we call out problems that affect more than just ourselves.
To zone in on the Twitter example, there were some posts about how women shaving our body hair is an unhealthy beauty standard. And while this sparked the general "it's my choice/I am not shaming you I'm just saying we live in a society/well I think she should be shamed" back and forth, there was also some that honed in on the way that shaving can be a part of transfems' survival, and how trans women's hair is scrutinized in a way that non-transfems' is not; and that piqued my interest because I truly did not see a contradiction between critique of our society's attitude towards body hair, and the fact that I'm going to keep shaving.
I guess what I'm driving at here is that if body hair discourse is being promulgated by people who don't include trans women in their beauty standards, I think that hypocrisy is a great jumping off point to talk about how this stuff affects us, and that the main alternative we have is continuing the propagation of this beauty standard that hurts us. I'd rather have a hypocritical enemy than a consistent one.
And it's not just about stigmatizing vs encouraging transition/assimilation, because with the post I saw about the MargRob movie it's the opposite. This is kind of a spoiler, but a certain movie ends with a female character who earlier stated she did not have a vagina, going to a gyno. In context this did stem from a cis-centric view of feminism, however it was also compatible with the experiences of many transfems. I think in a time where healthcare for trans people is so under attack, it feels a little misplaced to attack the idea that someone would be happy about having stereotypical feminine anatomy - some women have penises, and the ones who want to change that shouldn't be told "be happy with what you have".
Yes, when a lot of people say the word "woman", they aren't thinking of us, and maybe they don't even include us: but we are women whether people see us that way or not, and that means that not everything they say will exclude us and that is an opportunity to prove we are who we say we are. We shouldn't have to, but we are being asked to, day after day.
Obviously, the pink movie is a giant hit that probably most transfems who watched it liked, and body hair discourse basically did what it needed to do; I just think there's an interesting trend in discourse arguments that I disagree with - something about this pseudo-separatist point of view that isn't gelling with me.
And I think it's the same thing that fuels charity streams being taken down because the people and content weren't 100% unproblematic, even if the recipients were clearly worthwhile; or a hashtag for a killed trans teenager being called in bad taste because the girl was white - things that kinda feel like they are derailing positive change.
I don't care about civility and respectability. I don't care about compromise. I care about being able to identify the best action in the long run, and I think that focusing on the ways that we are different only matters when someone is trying to make your life worse. Otherwise the instinct becomes to punish wrongdoers, even if that means hurting yourself in the process.
An instinct to say "you don't include me, so I'm going to be the scorpion to your frog". Maybe that has validity in the long term, at least for one or two of the examples I gave above; maybe cracks in an "inclusive" movement fester into something far worse, like often happens to certain pundits and YouTube channels shifting to the right.
But in the short term I just look at conversations that separatism (from any group) derails and think, "this could have helped us all".
