I think Natsuhiko can’t die.
Is not a new theory by any means but I’ll talk about it anyway because at this point I’ll be genuinely surprised if it isn’t somewhat canon.
On the back of the newest cover (vol 19), he has a cut noose around his neck and a pair of scissors.
Tumblr media
The implication he cut off his noose is interesting, because the only times I have seen a character with a noose was in chapter’s 20 cover, and the cover of volume 3.
Mitsuba Sousuke died and Yugi Amane's death is the focus of vol 3: is what stuck with Tsuchigomori enough to be his yorishiro.
Tumblr media
on the ‘Horoscope + Special Skill’ extra, his special skill is said to be “durability” instead of “flirting” or something more expected of his character.
Tumblr media
Considering how little manga time he has, we see him coming back from near-death experiences with no relevant injuries a lot.
Tumblr media
(he only comes back from the Tea Party incident after Hell of Mirrors, so he spent days or even weeks running from door to door, facing who knows how many deadly places before reaching the school again)
He isn’t affected by the boundaries either, since he showed up wet after his door to door adventure (so he crossed boundaries) and poped up to ‘help’ Kou on chapter 90 in the far shore.
He does seem to feel pain but he never fears for his life.
And it’s not like he is oblivious to what is dangerous and what isn’t: He tells Nene she can die in the Tea Party but shows no care about the possibility he too, could die.
Tumblr media
Nene says “what do we do?” “we have to do something!” but Natsuhiko is only worried about her “Are you okay with dying?”, as if the possibility he could die too never crossed his mind.
Sakura, seems to be aware of this ‘resistance’ to death too.
She is an old spirit, that saw many things, and she seems to believe Natsuhiko when he argues he may still be around to go on a date with her even when the living, the dead, and supernaturals all cease to exist.

Chapter 6: Misaki stairs part 1 - Where is Tsukasa?
TW: suicide attempt
Tsukasa stood Infront of the stairs, the one mentioned in the rumors of the Misaki stairs. he touch the railing of the staircase, his eyes dull. he felt selfish for the thoughts in his mind, he was loved by so many of the students in the school but none of them understand him. his personality was completely fake, he lied like it was breathing. but he knew once he shows his true feelings, their support will instantly disappear and they'll turn against him. for Yugi Tsukasa, is a horrible and disgusting person inside.
he knew everyone around him like to keep secrets and lie directly to his face. he knew their father was lying when he would tell him and Amane that he was getting better, so he was less upset when their father 'suddenly' died. their mother, still overwhelmed with grief of her husband dying, took this as Tsukasa being heartless and a monster. screaming that, 'that isn't my son', 'you must be a heartless spirit possessing my son'!. luckily Sakura had been there to calm down the twins' mother, once his mother had come back to her senses, she hugged him as she cry and apologies.
some part of him thinks that his mother still feels that way about him, thinking all her smiles were fake and some part of him wondered if his mother would have been happier if he died instead of their father. he knows that his mother is lying when she says she ok, and happy to make them feel better, but it makes Tsukasa feels worst. because all the lies make him feel disgusting Inside.
some part of Tsukasa knows that Sakura is keeping a secret from him, but he could never figure out what this secret was. whenever he asked if she was keeping anything a secret from him, she would force a smile and say "nope, I wouldn't lie to you Tsukasa", but those words felt meaningless. he knew he was loved, but he never felt like someone's favorite, even when it came to his childhood friend Sakura.
Tsukasa knew from a young age, that the only person who wouldn't lie to him was Amane. but now he's starting to self doubt himself, Amane has been distant and secretive as of late. they had been the closest of close since they were babies, but that might be because of them being twins. he felt like he was being left behind by everyone, and he doesn't feel like he catch up to them. he feels like he in their shadow, unable to react with them.
he step up the stairs, his hands trembling on the railing as he took in a shaking breath. he step on the fourth step, like it was mentioned in the rumor. maybe the growing pain in his chest, and the ugliness of his heart will finally fade away once he vanishes from this world.
. . . (Earlier)
Amane had overslept this morning as he walked downstairs, Tsukasa was brushing hair while on call with Sakura and Natsuhiko. Amane walked over to the toaster, he was still stuck in his thoughts about the incident from yesterday with Mitsuba and Hanako. about how Mitsuba call Hanako a murderer, and that mysterious boy he saw. he buttered his toast, "AMANE!" suddenly Tsukasa yelled out.
"huh! are you okay, Tsukasa?!" Amane gasped, as he was brought back to his surrounding. Tsukasa looked annoyed as he put the brush back on the self.
Tsukasa sighed "I-I'm Okay! I said your names three times but you didn't react, is something bothering you?" he asked his older twin brother.
"Oh! Um…" Amane blush in embarrassment "nothing's bothering me. it's just I made a new friend yesterday. and have been thinking about him" he half lied, it wasn't necessarily a lie.
Tsukasa eyes widen, he didn't understand why that hurt him. maybe it was because Amane who used to tell him everything, didn't even tell him yesterday that he made a new friend. but Tsukasa force a smile on his face, the fake smile he typically uses when talking to his classmates and other students at school. "oh! your such a social butterfly this year Amane!" he joked, as he slapped Amane's back playfully.
"ow-!" Amane gasped, not expecting the slap. "I guess your right, Tsukasa." he blush, as he smile at those words from his younger brother.
but then Tsukasa put a hand under his chin, as if deep in thought "but you have been acting off since I told you the rumor about Hanako-San" Tsukasa pointed out, wondering if he could get a answer from Amane, that satisfied him and didn't make him sick in the stomach due to lies.
Amane look uncomfortable at the question, as he glance around nervously. it made Tsukasa sick to his stomach, is it because he's trying to lie to his face or is it because he's forcing answers out of his older twin brother when he not entitled to know everything about his brother. "oh" Tsukasa gasp, as he decide to drop the topic, knowing he didn't want Amane to hate him. "is it that you got yourself a girlfriend and didn't tell your little brother!" he crossed his arms as he put on a fake offended face.
Amane felt guilty for lying to his little brother, but he doesn't little brother involved with the supernatural. and a selfish part of him wants something that was his alone, something he didn't have to share with his brother. he didn't want a friend that only his friend because of Tsukasa, he wants to be able to do things that don't involve his brother. "I- I don't have a girlfriend, Tsukasa. I just want to… um hang out with my friend, he's a year younger than us" Amane smile nervously. at least with Mitsuba and Hanako, he won't be constantly compared to his little brother, and won't always be a outsider in the friend group. he knows it his own fault that he isn't as close with Sakura anymore, and he knows it his fault he's not friends with Natsuhiko.
"Okay." Tsukasa glanced away, and started to pack his lunch box. Sakura and Natsuhiko came to pick up the Yugi twins like usual.
Amane finally noticed that his mother wasn't in the kitchen, he felt horrible for not noticing since she always in the kitchen when him and Tsukasa are getting ready. "where's mum, Tsukasa?" Amane gasped as he quickly pack up his lunch box and brush his hair.
"did you forget?" Tsukasa smile, "mum's at a job interview today." he told his older brother.
Amane thought back on it, and then remembered when he came home yesterday. he had been exhausted, and his mum had explained that she wasn't going to be home in the morning because of a job interview while he headed straight to his and Tsukasa's shared room since they were little boys.
"hurry up, Kids or we'll be late" Natsuhiko smiles as he pushes his hair out of his eyes, only for the hair to get in his eyes again when Sakura harshly slapped him on the back of the head.
Amane grabbed the extra key, and headed out with Tsukasa and Tsukasa's friends. he locked the door behind them and then put the key into his pocket. Tsukasa smile as he put on his perfect act, as he talk with Sakura and Natsuhiko, once again Amane was too focused on Hanako, Mitsuba and the school's mysteries to get involved in their conversations.
. . .
some of the students had forced Tsukasa into joining the school's newspaper club, they kept begging until he had agreed. Tsukasa had grabbed Amane along with him, Amane was sitting at a desk alone while everyone surrounded Tsukasa. the boys and girls were blushing and smiling as they talk with Tsukasa, Amane just sighed as he glanced out the window. the students in the club hadn't got Tsukasa to join because they wanted him to help, it was because they were in love with Tsukasa. sometimes Amane is slightly jealous of how effortlessly his little brother gets everyone's attention, but at the same time he doesn't understand how Tsukasa can be so perfect and handle everyone's eyes on him all the time, does he ever fear messing up in front of them?
Amane was to distracted in his thoughts to noticed that Tsukasa has walked over to him. "AMANE!" he heard his brother call out, he looked over at his brother who was now, well has been standing Infront of his desk for a few minutes "are you listening?" he asked him.
he glanced down and then back at Tsukasa "I-I'm sorry." he replied, Tsukasa kept the fake smile on his face. he knew it was selfish to be upset over something as simple as this since he's loved in the school by almost if not all the student body.
Tsukasa playfully rolled his eyes, as he put a hand on his hip "you're always spacing out. were you lying this morning…" Tsukasa was saying, Amane gulp nervously thinking that his little brother might have catch up on the Hanako lie. "when you said you didn't have a girlfriend…?" Amane let out a sigh of relief, which confuse Tsukasa.
he wasn't used to his older brother being so down in the dumps, even thought he didn't know the full reason for why his brother was upset. he has picked up on the fact that Amane was more interested in the rumors as of late. at least their was one thing the two brothers can still talk about with each other "Oh! I just remember my conversation with Sakura-Chan this morning. she told me a new rumor" Tsukasa smile, he love talking about his interests and he was happy that Amane seem to love them as well now.
Amane looked up, his interest spiked. "No.2 of the seven mysteries - The Misaki stairs. you must never step on the fourth step of that staircase. if you break that rule, you'll be dragged to the world of the dead… and your body will be torn to thousands, if not ten of thousands of pieces. they say that at twilight the blood of its victims drips down the stairs, even though no one can see its source." Tsukasa was explaining the rumor to Amane, Amane face turn from a smile to a horrified look.
this rumor was even more horrifying then the Mokke's rumor, that means Amane will have to change it so no one will get hurt. but Amane was curious how or who Sakura were getting these rumors from. and he also wondered who was making such horrifying rumors, she knew Sakura wouldn't make the rumor herself even thought she and Tsukasa did scare Amane will rumors as a kid. "w-which staircase… is this?" Amane asked his younger brother, his voice shaking showing his obvious fear.
Tsukasa smile, a finger Infront of his face as he laughs a little "stairway B in front of the art room. lots of kids say they've seen the pools of bloooood!" he was saying, expecting a happy look on Amane's face, but instead he got a horrified look. Tsukasa glance down, a hand on his cheek as he sighed "Huh? I thought you liked these stories, Amane"
"I do! i love them!" Amane yelled out, and the smile on Tsukasa's face returned.
Amane was about to pack up his belongings when suddenly his younger brother grabbed ahold of both his hands. the students were leaving since the club activity was over now, and were cleaning up the room. "are you coming, Tsukasa-Kun?" one of the girls asked, blushing as she held her together.
"Nope. sorry i want to talk with Amane alone a little" Tsukasa told them, the girl nodded and the rest of the students left the room leaving only Amane and Tsukasa alone in the classroom to talk with each other. "I know you always hide your pain. and never ask for help, and believe people are lying to your face when they say they care", Amane frown as Tsukasa says these words, remembering how long it took him to open up to his homeroom teacher in middle school. and how he tries to put a strong face on around his mother and little brother, because he believe he's the man of the house after their father died. "so if you need to talk to me, please do. I want to make you feel better, like how you always try to make me feel better…" Tsukasa was saying with a smile on his face, trying to get Amane to open to him so then that they could go back to being the same again, and so that he didn't feel like Amane was leaving him behind.
Amane's eye widen, he had a look of gratefulness on his face for having such a supportive younger brother. but that wasn't the compete truth, Tsukasa is saying this like he never help Amane, but Tsukasa was the one always being strong for Amane when they were younger and Amane was Ill, after their father died. Tsukasa had tried everything to get Amane to smile again. "Tsukasa…" he was about to open up to Tsukasa, but then their homeroom teacher entered the room.
"there you are, Yugi-San" he said, once he spotted Tsukasa. "I have been looking everywhere for you" he smile. Amane was confuse on why their teacher was looking for Tsukasa, did Tsukasa get in trouble. no that doesn't sound like Tsukasa, is he getting a reward for being perfect like in middle school. Tsukasa always got chosen for rewards from our peers, because they all believe Tsukasa is perfect, apart of Amane believes Tsukasa is perfect, but another part the more logical part knows that no one is perfect and that includes Tsukasa as well. "oh, you're here too. i didn't notice" his teacher apologised.
Tsukasa was confuse as he look up, and rubbed the back of his head while smiling "I'm a bit forgetful teacher. why were you looking for me?" he asked.
"you have guidance counseling with me, in the art room" their teacher reminded Tsukasa, Amane looked up at Tsukasa slightly shock. he didn't know that Tsukasa was still going to the guidance counselor, their mum had made Tsukasa going to the guidance counselor since middle school because she believed Tsukasa had some kind of issue. Amane wondered why their mother hadn't put him in counselling after all the bullying he experience in middle school.
Tsukasa mask cracked slightly, as an annoyed expression cross his face since he hates going to guidance counselling. but then he quickly put the emotional mask on as he fakes a smile "that's right. silly me, it must have slipped my mind. I'll be right there!" he told the teacher, the teacher left the classroom.
"Amane, what were you saying?" Tsukasa asked, as he turned around to face his older brother.
Amane glanced away "nothing. I'm okay seriously, just worry about yourself okay" he answered, and he glance back at Tsukasa with a sadden and shock expression "I didn't know mum was still making you go to guidance counselling" he said.
"oh. yeah, she is." Tsukasa glanced down, but then a idea popped in his head to lighten the mood "since you like the rumors, I'll keep telling you the rumors that Sakura-Chan tells me" Tsukasa smiles genuinely for a second, and then it disappeared as soon as it appeared.
he started walk toward his teacher, but Amane grabbed his hand "worry about yourself. I'm okay Amane", Tsukasa eyes widen but then he smile, as he pushes Amane hand off.
. . .
Amane was waiting at the gate for his little brother, but after half an hour Tsukasa didn't appear. but then he noticed that Sakura and Natsuhiko weren't there too. he thought that Tsukasa and his friends must have left to walk home already, he had no right to be upset he had made them walk home without him before because of him staying back late, they probably assumed he was staying late again.
he walked home, he look down at his phone and he had no new messages. he open the door, and then place the spare key down on the table after closing the door behind him. he felt tired, so he went upstairs, he noticed his mother in her room, with the door slightly open. "Mum, I think I'll skip dinner tonight." he told her, his mother looked concerned.
"are you sure, Amane?" his mother asked him, walking over to him as she placed a hand on his forehead to check for a temperature.
Amane was confused by this action "what are you doing?" he asked, he had done nothing to indicate that he could possibly be sick.
"I was checking if you were sick. since your health is pretty frail Amane" His mother sounded worried, but this just left Amane confused. did his mother forget that he no longer suffers from the illness from his childhood.
Amane smile "I'm fine, Mum. just tried" he told her, she still look concerned, as she nodded her head. he walked to his room, closing the door behind him. he felt weird as he walked over to his bed, his head spinning. he fell asleep on his bed.
he woke up the next morning with a huge headache, but he choose to ignored it as he check the time on his phone. it was time to wake up, he turned to look at Tsukasa but then his eyes widen as he noticed that everything that belong to Tsukasa and his side of the room was gone. he got up, as he ran to his mum room. his mum wasn't in there, their was a note on her bedside table saying she had to go to work early this morning. he picked up the family photo, but Tsukasa wasn't in the photo. it was just him, his mother and father. he dropped the photo, as it shattered in pieces.
he got into his uniform in a godly speed, he ran down the stairs. he skipped breakfast, he ran outside his house and ran right into Sakura. "Hey, my lady isn't that your childhood friend?" Natsuhiko asked Sakura.
"Oh, You're up early this morning" Sakura smiled at Amane, but something felt off as he wondered why she hasn't questioned him about the whereabouts of Tsukasa.
and he was confuse by Natsuhiko, he knows about Amane so why is he speaking like he has only just meet him today. "Sakura-Chan, have you seen Tsukasa? his things are missing and the photos in our house are different" Amane asked, his voice shaking from worry.
Natsuhiko looked confuse "who's this Tsukasa kid?" he asked "I though my lady said you were a only child." Amane's eyes widen at Natsuhiko's words.
Amane noticed how Sakura's eyes widen, and she glanced away like she was keeping something from him. "Amane… I don't who this Tsukasa is" she answered.
Amane grabbed his phone out of his pocket, as he scrolled down the contact list. Tsukasa was no longer in his contact list. 'I should call mum' he thought as he clicked the contact labeled as mum. but then it said he couldn't contact this number because he needed to recharge his phone. he thought he will just go to the office and call his mum from there, he started running in the direction of the school "Amane, wait…!" he heard Sakura called out, her voice growing quieter as he ran further away.
he huff and puff as he finally made it to the school's ground. he walk pass his and Tsukasa's classroom on the way to the office, he took a peak inside and noticed that Tsukasa's desk that was beside his own was now gone. he was hoping he was overthinking, hallucinating or that this was just one big nightmare. he couldn't think of his life without his little brother who has been with him his whole life since they were twins.
their homeroom teacher bumped into Amane, startling Amane as he jumped back and hit his back against the wall of the hallway. "Yugi-San, is something bothering you?" the teacher asked, "you seem rather jumpy" he pointed out.
that reminded Amane that the last time he saw Tsukasa was when Tsukasa left to go to his guidance counselling "did Tsukasa ever make it to the art room yesterday for guidance counselling?" Amane asked his teacher, trying to hold on to hope.
"Tsukasa…?" he said out loud, clearly confused by the name. "I didn't do any guidance counselling yesterday. and there's nobody in our school with that name." those words that slip out of his teacher's mouth is what he feared.
Amane took in a shaky breath, right now he would be walking to school with Tsukasa, Sakura and Natsuhiko. "who's this Tsukasa-" his teacher tried to ask him, but he started running up the hallway to the office. "Yugi-San!" his teacher called out concern by how out of character Amane seems to be acting.
Amane barge into the school's office, shocking everyone there.. Amane felt sick to his stomach, to the principal Amane looked out of it. Amane look like he had learn horrible news like news of a lost one, he was close to tears as he holds his chest while panting. "Yugi-San, are you alright?" the principal asked, as she walks over to him.
she place a hand on his shoulder, and Amane glanced up at her. "C-can i call my mum?" he asked her. she takes a good look at him, even if he wasn't sick something was clearly wrong. children don't suddenly barge into the office like this. she reach over the desk to grab the school phone, she hands the phone to Amane and leaves him alone to talk to his mother for a little bit.
"is something wrong, Miss-"
Amane sighed in relief once he heard his mother on the other side of the phone, but then he realize he still hasn't ask her about Tsukasa. their still a possibility something is wrong with Tsukasa since Amane can't find him. "Mum-" he speaks up.
"Amane, dear is everything okay? you sound like something bad happen. are you getting bullied again, do i need to come to your school and pick you up?" Amane heard his mum's concern voice on the other side of the phone.
he took in a shaky breath, fearing the answer he might get if he ask his question. "that's not the Issue. Mum, I woke up and couldn't find Tsukasa. did he ever make it home last night?" he asked, holding the phone tightly as his hands tremble.
"Amane. what are you talking about? I don't have any other children, your a only child remember?" His mother reminded him, she sounded worried and was probably thinking that he was crazy at this point. "do you need me to pick you up. maybe you are too stressed out and have started to imagine things?"
his worst fears were starting to become a reality, "N-No I'm fine. I just had a weird and long dream last night where i had a twin brother named Tsukasa. I just have made myself believe it was true. sorry to bother you while you're at work." he apologizes.
"are you sure?" she asked him, wanting to make sure.
he nodded his head, but then remembered his mother can't see him nodding. "yep. I'm fine, you should get back to work." he was pushing that he was okay.
he heard his mother sigh on the other side of the phone. "Okay, I'm going to trust you on this. but I'll recharge your phone now so if at any point of today, if you aren't feeling well you can call me at any time for me to pick you up"
"Thank you, Mum. bye, I love you." he replied, smiling half genuinely and half fake.
a few seconds later, his mother replied "I love too, Dear. bye" he hung up after that and return the phone too the principal before the principal could question him he had left the office.
he was walking down the hallways, as he tries to figure out what could have happened to his brother for him to suddenly disappear like he never existed in this world in the first place. he walked right into someone, causing Amane to fall backwards and drop his phone on the ground. "I-I'm sorry…" Amane apologized.
he looked up at the guy he had ran into, he thought this guy looked familiar but he couldn't quite put his finger on why. the guy reach his hand out toward Amane, Amane nervously place his hand on top of the other's hand "No. I'm sorry." he replied "are you okay?" he asked Amane.
Amane gave a good look at the guy, he wondered if he was a guy that would be Hanako's type. this made him wondered how Hanako couldn't consider Amane, her type. he better than half the guys that Hanako been fawning over. "are you okay there?" Amane came to his senses. "ah back on earth I see. you dropped this." the blonde hair boy with the black headband told him as he handed Amane back his phone.
"Uh-" Amane blush in embarrassment as he grabbed his phone back from the blonde hair student. "Thank you very much…"
he help Amane to his feet, he was about to remember where he knew this guy from but then he remembered why he bumped into the student in the first place. he ran own the hallway, unaware of the paper crane attaching itself to him.
Amane realize where he had seen him before, it was a fellow classmate of him. how didn't he remember him, is that student really not that noticeable. the blonde hair boy name is Yamabuki Lemon, the only student Amane has seen Lemon interact with is the class representative Akane.
that didn't matter now though, what matter is getting his little brother back. Lemon watch as Amane ran down the hallway, he smiles and then walked the opposite way of Amane.

Any theories about the next chapter? It's just that I honestly can't imagine what could happen😢. I've been researching and unfortunately it doesn't seem like there are many theories online either, do you happen to have any idea what could happen?
Hey Anon! I don't follow what's going on in the fandom, so I was surprised you said that. In fact, it is difficult to predict what may happen because literally anything can happen. Literally everything. There are many possibilities and it is impossible to guess which AidaIro they will give.
1) Akane went to the clock and couldn't use his power. It's possible that if yashiro has the key with her, it's possible that it could become a way out if they don't find a way. It's possible that Teru will find a way out together with Yashiro. 2) Amane dies and Tsukasa is summoned. And they change the reality of the past. If they do this, the future will change too.
I'm sure Tsukasa saw this coming. I don't believe he doesn't always have everything carefully thought out, so it's possible we'll see Sakura and Natsuhiko in the past with Amane/or Amane himself spreading the rumors.
And what will be the consequences? This is going to be really huge. I can't say anything specific because honestly I'm only interested in one thing… “How much of Amane is left of his true self” is the question that keeps running through my mind. Aida Iro clearly showed in chapter 113 that Amane is not the same Amane and is a supernatural person. If his disappearance is behind him, it means that Amane died a second time, which means Tsukasa has survived one more death so far. Maybe it's idiotic, but I have the impression that Amane died and no one knows about it. But he can also live and plot something with Tsukasa or alone.
I have the impression that what will happen will be huge and will lead to the destruction of the yorishiros, instead of protecting them, they will destroy them.
I have such associations:
When I think about it, I think that maybe this world is in a little box and No. 1 is watching over them
I still can't believe it's number 1. left Akane on guard, only him. Their movements are illogical. They seem to be overconfident, I think.
I wasn't very helpful.

i'v been reading your posts for a while and liked them 👍👍 can you write a post about hanako and tsukasa 🙏 why is tsukasa yourishiro hanako why is it out of bounds?! Sorry so many questions 😣
Ohh I'm glad you're enjoying my posts, I appreciate your kindness :3 Don't worry, ask whenever you want, I love talking about JSHK theories XD
Ok, about Hanako and Tsukasa I was actually thinking about making a post about them, analyzing the relationship between them from the beginning based on the information we already have about them.
Tsukasa who has the seal is a Yorishiro, as has already been made clear, which makes him the same as Sumire, a Yorishiro with human form, who thinks, has opinions, desires and also memories.
Memories are the key point here, the fact that a yorishiro has them can end up confusing us, because it gives the impression that they are the real people represented here. As we saw Hakubo's reaction when he saw Sumire in her own boundary, he is actually scared and shocked to see her, which confirms that the "real" Sumire has already died a long time ago.
Tumblr media
So let's assume that there are 2 Sumires, the real one who died a long time ago and the yorishiro, who is a representation of the real one, and who exists to keep the 7 mysteries in line so that they fulfill their duty, as Sakura said. In Sumire's case she lives and relives the same day in a loop, the day she died.
Tumblr media
But we see during the time that Hanako and Yashiro were there that they managed to get her out of the boundary. She walked freely even after the separation. She was about to get on the train along with the other supernaturals when she ran into Sakura, meaning Tsukasa could do the same.
Tumblr media
It is worth remembering that nowhere was it said that yorishiros must "obligatorily" stay within the boundary, but that they will probably be there so that their owners can protect them.
In Tsukasa's case, Hanako didn't attack him once, I'm lying, there was one but with the intention of keeping him away from Yashiro, nothing that would actually hurt him.
Tumblr media
Every time Hanako sees Tsukasa he sweats coldly, his breathing is labored, his eyes are petrified, as if he remembers his sin at the time he sees him, but as time passes, he relaxes.
To the point that sometimes Tsukasa hugs him and he doesn't react negatively, he doesn't push him away abruptly. It suggests that Hanako is ashamed to see what he did to her brother, especially when he mentions that Amane killed him. Tsukasa seems to reflect the side that Hanako hates in himself.
And this is such an interesting fact because the first time I saw Tsukasa appearing in the anime I was thinking that he was Hanako's "fault" or in other words, I believed that he had taken his own life and that guilt haunted him. When still in the same chapter it was revealed that he was his twin brother, which left me much more intrigued than before.
Hanako allows Tsukasa to roam freely, but there are signs that he lived on Hanako's boundary, I talked about it in a post, here it is if you're interested.
Tsukasa has a habit of killing smaller creatures with his hands and uses their blood to paint the walls. Hanako's boundary has these same paintings, and some of these "hands" are actually present there, one of them took Yashiro, but it is interesting to note that some of them have bruises and even bandages, like the old Amane.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm still going to analyze the existence of these hands that are everywhere, including on some manga covers and even on the series logo.
Tumblr media
Leaving that aside, Tsukasa was on the boundary, but he found a way out. And at some point he joined Sakura, Natsuhiko and Mitsuba, in some random place in the school that is beyond the limits of the living because of the water on the floor. If he found Mitsuba then he can probably return to the red house whenever he wishes. That's assuming Mitsuba found him there (due to the photo of the house in his room)
The golden question is: "Why did Hanako leave him free even though he was her yorishiro?" We saw that Hakubo didn't even know about Sumire's existence, and she went wandering around, but Hanako knows about Tsukasa. Sometimes I get the impression that Hanako and Tsukasa are in cahoots, there are some clues about that. As if he let Tsukasa do these things on purpose, he pretends to stop it but doesn't really stop it. He said he would remove Mitsuba from the number 3 seat but he never spoke of it again when he left the boundary, he even calls Mitsuba number 3.
Tumblr media
And it seems that the Joudais have a connection, every time Tsukasa uses his, Hanako's alerts him, what are the Joudais? In short, Tsukasa found a way out and Hanako allowed it. He didn't make a point of going after him, in fact he wants to keep him away. The problem is that he doesn't do anything to stop him from doing what he's doing now.
But in Hanako's defense, Tsukasa seems to have been missing for years. He says it's been a while since he saw Amane "how long has it been? 10, 20 years?" Tsukasa said. And his first appearances were as a black crane, which was spying on Hanako until he took out some yorishiros, he waited for Hanako to attack him and when he did he took his original form, scaring Hanako who really looked like he hadn't seen Tsukasa in years.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That is, apparently Tsukasa was destroyed before and was away from Hanako for many years, but when Yashiro appeared, he returned. Who destroyed Tsukasa as yorishiro? Kou's grandmother? or Hanako himself? And why did he only come back when Yashiro showed up?
These are very interesting questions. Anyway, the answer was much longer than I expected. XD sorry about that. One day I will make a more detailed post about this. I hope you liked it, and thanks for the question again :3

Note
I SAW UR ANALYZING POST DO NOT SAY THAT MY FAVS WILL NOT DIE (im in denial and coping) 🙁😞
actually tho theres three ways this situation can go from my perspective, which is
1. Yashiro makes it to the school, and fixes the clock and EVERYONE comes back (which is not likely at all and unrealistic)
2. Everyone dies and Yashiro makes it to the clock still and changes it back but at what cost because would they all really come back? And plus the evil spirit from the red house is still going to be there and maybe its gonna remember everything and still come after nene?
3. Everyone dies and yashiro doesn’t make it to the clock (probably ending the manga) which is also pretty unlikely
I still feel like the manga is coming to an end personally though, because right now it feels like its getting near or AT the climax, because i think we have all the answers to everything or almost everything don’t we? So its like what now 😭 i mean its kinda already going downhill yk? Cus it foesnt seem like its going in a good direction even if yashiro fixes the clock/time
Sorry I’m ranting 😞 these past few chapters have me stressed to the max 😭😭
AidaIro is honestly very unpredictable. I think Nene will succeed in restoring the old timeline, but the mental hardships suffered will likely HEAVILY impact not only her mental health and worldview, but also the relationships with other characters, especially Hanako and Teru. Nene's not going to get a break either way, because once this arc is over no. 1's Yorishiro will 100% be destroyed, leaving Tsukasa as the last one left. Hell will ensue.
The real question is if the others will remember, because if they do, they're cooked mentally aswell. I cannot imagine Hanako, who already hates himself so much and finds himself filled with guilt, to remember the actions he was forced through in the alternate timeline. It's more or less the same situation with the others.
The manga is not coming to an end. There's too many plotlines yet unsolved, and since the manga is monthly, expect at least 5 more years worth of content. Not only is the Yugi twins lore unfinished, we still have the Minamoto clan lore, dad Minamoto, granny Minamoto, Sakura and Natsuhiko's characters are still covered in complete mystery, gods lore, exactly how the School Mysteries were assigned and the circumstances around this, Amane's key, Hanako's seal, etc.

toilet bound Hanako-kun chapter 94
this chapter took me by SURPRISE!!! it definitely made chapter 93 feel Complete!! I thought they were going in a different direction even though I thought it would be the worst kind of plot point AidaIro turned it the fuck around on me?? it was a PERFECT idea for an oni!! he not only wanted her but he took her life, he ATE her, that's such an amazing feature to their relationship!! but it breaks my heart, poor Sumire, she didn't have a problem with that and let him eat her??? that is just horrible, although with the choice of words she used I don't really know what to make of it but I suppose she didn't go against it and even when he bit her and not gently at that!! she was still as twistedly in love with him as she was before but I don't know about you guys but I feel like I could read the resentment and anguish in her last words....but maybe she didn't see it all that differently compared to dying in a hole so many times, she must have come to feel the pain of hitting the ground and be more self aware, I know that most people would faint before reaching the bottom but she's been through that MANY times, and our cast is usually better at pain tolerance and she clearly isn't the most opposed to pain. and I don't know if she saw this(Hakubo eating her) as a choice of hers and letting the person she loves doing whatever he'd like. but she clearly likes being in control over the life of at least an animal and she's never gotten to control whether she herself dies or not. I'm just not really sure...
but the gore panels we got?? they were beautiful!! I LOVED the way the injuries and his teeth were drawn
Tumblr media
and the HANDS were so pretty in this chapter? I loved it
and this was so disturbing to read and connect to the rest of the series and I loved it sm
and Sakura swooping in with Nene is interesting?? not sure where AidaIro is taking this but it would not be a satisfying way to learn more about the Yugi past :(
and it felt out of the blue? but it may have been Hanako and Tsukasa sending both their assistants back there to have a talk and to take care of the Yorishiro?
but Sakura picking up babes
Tumblr media
LIKE THEY'RE SO PRETTY HERE????
but we should have been back with Kou and Natsuhiko this chapter even if I think this chapter was interesting :(
but hopefully next chapter will be with Natsuhiko and Kou!! but so glad that Sumire and No.6 were wrapped up, and in the most gruesome way, it was amazing, still cang get past tge romantic filler throughout chapter 93 and it still was not necessary to bring them to the cave. and I can't see it as something they would do, going through the town and look back on memories, i get Sumire is a hopeless romantic when it comes to things like this but....
but honestly I don't think Nene is going to ask about the Yugi past so cross your fingers!! because I'd much rather her ask about what he plans on doing then his past because he has once again not tell her anything and just decide things, not to mention how Tsukasa appeared outta nowhere so she must want to ask about that, and how Sakura knows so much... but how she treated Aoi in that panel makes me so mad, AidaIro stop putting Aoi as last!! >:[
I know Nene is just so focused on other things and thought Akane would handle that but Nene was fed up before the navigation arc with Hanako, so why the sudden change? I know she has SO MANY objectives that were cut off before she could finish them(like Sumire) but Nene girl...get your shit together please.
but the crumbs of Akane were amazing
Tumblr media
he is so CUTE here!!! he looks so worried and Aoi is just a cinnamon roll, although recently I think Aoi has just had a blank expression far too much...I get her character but I think her character and how she feels was just thrown in the back after being used, and now she just has the same expression...I'm not really sure how i feel about it but oh well, hopefully we'll get more Aoi because she CANNOT be thrown in the back so much!! I know she's used to pull the plot but her character was established in the Sumire arc/grim reaper arc so why do this to her? oh well...
but they ARE really cute there
and I've been needing new images of Akane bc I don't feel like going through the entire manga looking for images I don't have because I need more in my album idk
okay I'm done rambling

I honestly wish Sumire and No.6 had more of a platonic relationship rather than a romantic one. Most media focus way to much on romantic relationships and rarely give much depth to any other type of relationship. I think that it makes sense for Sumire to like No.6 romantically mostly because she is trying to cope with the fact that she will soon be sacrificed. She is a very lonely girl who is trying to find some happiness in a hopeless situation. Although I don’t think it would change much if Sumire only saw No.6 as a friend or even like a father figure and it would also make their relationship less weird considered Sumire was so young when the first met. In my opinion No.6 never loved Sumire back but he did really care for her and when she died he was able to understand her loneliness and regret not doing more to help her. But I also wouldn’t be surprised if in the next chapter it’s confirmed that he really did love her or whatever.
I would really like for tbhk to better explore relationships that aren’t romantic ones but I’m already expecting Sakura and Natsuhiko to be another romance plot whenever they decide to tell us about their backstory. The closest thing we have to a good m/f friendship is Kou and Nene but even then Kou has a crush one Nene so I can’t really count it.
The only romantic relationships in tbhk that I actually care about are mitsukou and hananene. I really don’t think that every character needs to be paired up with someone and characters can have compelling stories that don’t have to revolve around romance. This is one of the reason why Mei is one of my favourite characters because she’s like the only female character in the series who isn’t given a love interest and her story is just about herself.

Nene-chan’s lifespan being tied to the mysteries is extremely thrilling.... the situation between Nene, Amane, and Tsukasa has become more interwoven than I dreamed of. It’s-- incredibly beautiful to me that by nature, this yorishiro destruction pipeline, without any wishes, would simply result in Tsukasa, and Nene dying at once? It’s beautiful that Nene could essentially be included into the shinjuu (part2).... ? That feels like something so personal and sacred, the mutual destruction of the Yugi, that her being not only a core part of it, but a ticking time-bomb to destruct with them--
IT REALLY JIBAKU!!!!!!!
Such a complicated mess. What would even happen if Tsukasa was peeled, and Nene-chan died, if the wish wasn’t earnest? What would happen to Hanako? He’s only a spirit....without his yorishiro, what is he? Is he a substantial enough spirit, to continue without it? Mitsuba needs the mystery’s power in order to even leave a boundary.... normal apparitions are destined for the far shore.... but, I don’t know.... where does the mystery’s power go, once unsealed? Would Amane become a God? With his 2 hoes dead ... lol ....
but... raugh!! I’ve talked before about both Yugi’s self-destructive tendencies... in Amane’s mind right now, he must be thinking of disappearing with Tsukasa, but granting the wish for Nene-chan to live a normal life?
That’s of course not what’s going to transpire as we can’t have predictable things, and our Nene-chan has much to impress us with.... and the final wish surely will be a doozy which considers so much (will it really go to Amane? Or would it go to Nene-chan, the one actually pulling the seals, and speaking to each mystery about their yorishiro? In the intro after all, it’s not phrased as ‘destruction’ but ‘truth’ you must learn-- only Nene-chan knows the truth of Shijima-san and Tsuchigomori..... Amane does not even know Tsuchigomori’s yorishiro, in the end... she saw Sumire’s memories and life while drugged, she knows her situation)...... but even just as a concept inside of Amane, and a risk Tsukasa is willing to take, that’s just so..... touching! It’s making me excited, that the final climax of this situation will necessitate the three of them..... couldn’t be better!
In other thoughts, such an incredible phrasing and truth; the nature of Yorishiro feels insidious-- like emotional extortion. To keep you committed to your duty, something is held hostage within the deepest part of your boundary, so you have a necessary commitment to keeping your boundary controlled and managed...
It makes sense.... nothing less could keep someone like Hanako in line. I’m really understanding why unseating the mysteries and dismantling this all feels necessary.... it seems cruel, in its own way.... to be held to your job, not only at risk of harm by Minamoto, but for the stress of that which you hold most dear, and must protect at all costs, coming into harm... brought into this system, kept by this system.... poor kaii.
uaaaaagh. I love this concept that Amane’s 2 hoes are innately connected!! Arrgh. Kind of losing my mind at this notion of needing to make the yorishiro’s form indistinguishable KFL;SDJKL;SJGK oh... mutilation is necessary? Hiiii lol.... observed some JP fans bluntly stating they’d love to see Amane eat Tsukasa. God bless. Now there’s the real response to all this, from the gut of the real audience. Hearts uninhibited, no fear, only thirst.
Appreciate Natsuhiko and Sakura outlining the consent between Sumire and Hakubo... I know it won’t stop people being committed to misunderstanding it, but I’m happy, myself. It’s sweet Sakura wanted to give them the power over their own loss.... I didn’t expect it to be something they arranged, willfully. It makes me think Sakura... really does understand a lot. I’m sure she understands Tsukasa’s desire to have Amane be his undoing....
I’m pleased to know it was Sakura’s choice to enable what transpired. It’s indeed unfair to take that elegant final moment away from them, to make it as inconsequential and unromantic as Nene-chan peeling a steal as she would on an object.... they were able to communicate something they never could, in life..... they were able to satisfy each other’s desires.
With every chapter, I trust AidaIro-sensei more and more!! They really know how to make something poignant!! Imbued with so much significance!! They really understand the layers to a shinjuu!! To possession, ownership, love, protectiveness!!!

uhhh i don’t know how many characters per hc request is aloud but can i request teru , tsukasa , and mitsuba’s (separate) partner dying in their arms? (if it’s to many then just tsukasa and mitsuba, or if this request makes you uncomfortable in any way then you can just ignore it)
Tsukasa, Mitsuba, and Teru’s s/o dying in their arms headcanons❣︎
Warning: Death and description about it
A/n: I probably should have specified that in my rules-
You can request one to three, sorry for the confusion!
Sorry this came out so late… I was busier that I thought I would be yesterday...
Anyways… enjoy!
Tumblr media
Tsukasa loves you so muchhhhhh!
He likes to take you on adventures through boundaries with him
When he’s in a boundary he never been in before, you will be there holding his hand as he leads the way
Unlike most of the boys, he wouldn’t mind if you were there with him when he was fighting another supernatural
He loves the praise and thanks he gets from you when he defeats them
Tsukasa believes in his strength and capability to beat his opponent
So it comes as a shock when he couldn’t stop the supernatural from attacking you
It happened in an instant
Not even enough time to call his Kokujoudai
He turned around to see you being impaled in the chest by the supernatural
What the hell was happening?
“Who the hell… DO YOU THINK YOU ARE-?!”
The spirit turned to see Tsukasa about to hit them but they vanished into thin air before he could attack
Once he realized the apparition what gone he rushed to your side
He kneeled down and picked up your dying body, letting your blood stain his cloths and hands
“GO GET SAKURA, OR NATSUHIKO, OR-OR AMANE! JUST GET SOMEBODY!” Tsukasa voice was cracking and his Kokujoudai vanished
His bangs was covering his eyes but you saw the tears trailing down his face
“Don’t worry… it’s going to be okay…”
You tried to bring your hand up to cup his cheek
When he saw your hand falling back down he was quick to grab it and place it to his check for you
Your blood from his hands rubbing onto yours
“Please… I don’t want you to go… you mean too much to me, please…”
He watched as the light slowly left your eyes
Gritting his teeth, he stayed with you until someone pried you out of his hands
He blamed himself.
No one but himself.
If he had never brought you, he would have never ended up losing you.
He started to get more violent and snap at his friends for no reason
“Tsukasa, how does this rumor sound-?”
“WHATEVER SAKURA, JUST GET OUT OF HERE!”
She flinched when he snapped at her and just decided to leave him alone for a while
He distanced himself from the group
People know he is going through a lot and that its not that safe to be with him when he's like this
Hanako was very concerned about his younger twin after hearing the news
He went to check on him to make sure he was okay
“Hey Tsukasa… how have you been?”
Tsukasa didn’t even look at him.
Just sat on his chair staring at the ground
“Well, if you ever want to talk you know where to find me…”
Hanako vanished leaving Tsukasa alone again
Had a lot of panic attacks by himself
He would be on his knees and just claw at his chest and cry in the other room
If someone asked about it he would just snap at them as well
He was too weak to beat the supernatural
He was too weak to dave you
Tumblr media
When Mitsuba died he was forgotten by most people
He felt like he nether belonged in the human world or supernatural world
But when he’s with you he feels like he belongs
Like someone sees him
And when he has you that's all you could ever ask for
He barely remembers how this all started
All he remembered was that there was a supernatural and it wanted blood
He always thought he was weak
When in danger, he would joke around hiding behind you saying he was to cute to die
But if something every did try to attack you, he would instantly be at your side blocking the hit from hitting you
But he wasn’t able to block this hit
He ran to your side instantly
“LEAVE!” Mitsuba screamed tears running down his checks
The supernatural got forced out by hands through mirrors since it wasn’t his boundary
He focused on stopping the bleeding
“You-you cant go you stupid idiot! Getting h-hurt in battle, are you i-insane..?”
His voice was shaky as he stuttered
He tried to laugh it off as a joke
Saying you can’t die
You can't leave him
He needs you
“No… this is all a bad dream huh? You are going to be okay!”
His was raising his voice now trying to force his mind to believe the impossible
But you were out of his reach
Out of his protection as your life slipped away from you
Everything reminds him of you one way or another…
He sees pretty flowers, oh, that's a good picture. Pictures, he used to take pictures of you all the time…
He wouldn’t isolate himself from people
He would stay but he would quite
His eyes dull
Not being cocky in any way
Only speaking when spoken too
It was quite noticeable by all that this has affected him
Kou tires to encourage him as much as he could but that was quite hard
“I’m sorry Mitsuba... “
“I needed her in my life… I needed her with me… but I was weak. I am an idiot..!”
Tsukasa was right
He is weak
He’s a coward
He’s a blind fool that fell in love with someone who he couldn’t protect.
Tumblr media
He always disliked supernaturals
Never once has he saw any good in them
And when he found out you had the ability to see supernaturals as well he was shocked
He would try to keep you as far away from any spirit
He didn’t trust them and would never want to see one hurt you
But unfortunately, that was hard in this situation
He was trying to slay the supernatural while protecting you
This was quite hard because you weren't an exorcist so he kept most of his attention on you
But he missed the supernatural piercings you
Teru, now pissed, killed it before it could cause any more harm to you
Once it was dead he rushed to your side picking you up in his arms
From the look of the wound he knew you weren’t going to make it...
“T-Teru… “
He knew he had to be strong
Be strong for you
He didn’t want the last thing for you to see what him grieving or yelling
He smiled gently and placed his forehead on yours and tears streamed down his face and onto your cheek
“Shhhhh, hey, it’s going to be okay. I love you so much… it will be over soon...”
He continued this until he felt your body become cold
That’s when he started to let out all his tears
He couldn’t hold a exorcist weapon without thinking about you
He hasn’t exorcised in a long time
All he thinks about is how he failed you
People at school will ask his how he is and how he is handling the death
He simply puts on a brave face
He will say that he prefers not to talk about it and they won’t push it anymore
He has always put on that brave smile when situations were bad
But now he was struggling to hold it
He cries at night looking at pictures of you on his phone
He has pictures of you hung up in his room
Since normal people don’t know about supernaturals, they just labled it as a unsolved murder
Teru was especially angered because he knows how you really died
It hurts him knowing that he failed someone so special to him
That he failed someone who he loved

More Toilet Bound Theories!
(MANGA SPOILERS)
After these last few chapters changing everything we thought we knew about the Yugi twins backstory, I had more thoughts..
I remembered this
Tumblr media
Even if Amane never told his brother about Nene or his wish, he would know regardless.
Like how ‘Tsukasa’ knew Kunishige’s wish was that the Chief priest would disappear. He never specified his wish; only how he wanted him to disappear. He didn’t want him dead.
It‘s obvious that the price for most of these wishes is the life of a human.
The price Amane paid to meet Nene again was likely extremely heavy...
His wish stated that he wanted to see/meet her again, but he didn’t specify for how long he wanted to be with her...
No one will know the price of a wish until it happens.
(Also, i’ve had a thought that it’s possible Hanako never had any wish granting abilities in the first place. He, in theory, only makes sacrifices to the house-Demon-thing to keep order among humans and supernaturals)
A theory I had: It cost him Nene’s life and that’s how she dies. Remember that even Hanako/Amane doesn’t know exactly how she dies, only that it’s coming very soon.
Which explains why he refused to use that kind of power when Yashiro made her first wish for love and used more practical methods. I am also heavily suspicious that he set up the whole Mermaid Scale thing on purpose because we have yet to really see the power or true purpose it holds for them..
Another theory: It cost him the life of one or both parents. Amane then finds out what’s happened to his brother, and who he really is, so he takes it upon himself to kill him in order to stop him from granting anymore destructive wishes.
Yet one more theory, and it kinda goes with the last one: Amane somehow travelled to the past/future to stop himself from making a wish he didn’t intend on making. Similarly with what we saw happen with Shijima Mei trying to stop herself from painting that picture. Time travel seems to be a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
Amane decides to do this by killing himself. Isn’t it weird that this is the only glimpse we get to see from the day he supposedly killed Tsukasa?
Tumblr media
It’s just weird to me that we never see Tsukasa at this age, only in the Picture Perfect arc.
The real Tsukasa never died, and he was always trapped in the house. The Tsukasa we see currently was only sealed away and never actually “died” because it is a apparition. This ‘Tsukasa’ is likely the real evil spirit that Grandma Minamoto sealed away..
Sakura is the one who freed him somehow. She or Natsuhiko could be from a family of exorcists? I’d bet on Natsuhiko because Sakura stated in a spinoff that she wanted him near to be able to protect her. Sure, this was only in the context of a Zombie attack, but the spinoffs always seem to give us some sort of hint or foreshadowing..
Anyways, rant over lol. Feel free to add or dispute

JSHK Questions and Answers
Since I love lists, and I want to organize these for future reference, this is my compilation of the questions I still have as of the most recent chapter, and attempts to answer them with theories and headcanons with no bases whatsoever. So, let us begin!
1.) How does a human become a supernatural?
Among the Seven Mysteries, only Hanako and Akane-kun were or are humans. Shijima isn’t the original Shijima Mei, and the current Mitsuba was created from the original Mitsuba. Is there a difference between a human becoming a simple supernatural or becoming a School Mystery? Are humans who died and become ghosts, like original Mitsuba, considered Supernaturals? Is Sakura one such human-turned-ghost-turned supernatural?
For Amane and Mitsuba, we know how they became spirits. They had lingering regrets, which is confirmed by Kou when he said he’d help Mitsuba with his unfinished business so that he could pass on. So what Kou was talking about in the most recent chapter is probably not that.
Going back to Akane-kun and Hanako. How did Akane-kun become a supernatural? It was through a deal to save Aoi’s life, albeit he was tricked into it.
Did something of that sort happen to Amane and Tsukasa perhaps? Did Amane make a wish, was tricked, and somehow as a consequence end up killing Tsukasa as some sort of exchange? Because for some reason, among a time lord, a spider that has a library full of knowledge, and the GOD OF DEATH, it’s Hanako-kun who’s the leader of the School Mysteries. Something big must have been exchanged for that.
Perhaps Tsukasa heard a rumor that one way he and Amane could stay together forever was to become Supernaturals, with one being the other’s yorishiro and for this reason he wanted to kill Amane, except it happened the other way around. Admittedly, this is a bit farfetched.
2. Who does Teru actually like?
This was established from the very first chapter, so i believe it’s an important plot point.
Sakura: My first guess, again despite having no basis at all, is Sakura. But Sakura already has Natsuhiko so hmmm....
Mei: Yes, this is a bit weird. The only thing I have to go on is that one picture of Teru with Mei and Shijima in Monster Nursery. Teru could have been a kid who had a crush on high school student Mei before she died.
Aoi: Recent chapters would point to that. It seems so obvious as to be a red herring, but what if that is what makes it surprising enough to be true? I always thought Teru ‘liking’ Aoi was a way to troll Akane just as how Teru lords over Nene’s crush on him to Hanako (man in other circumstances, Akane-kun and Hanako-kun would get along soooo well), but he never said he liked Nene in a joking way, like he did with Aoi.
If the Teru-Aoi-Akane triangle is suppose to parallel the Kou-Nene-Hanako triangle, then it checks out if both Teru and Akane have a crush on Aoi. I do see them as being kindred spirits. Both are set up on a pedestal despite no one actually knowing their true selves. Everyone thinks they’re so perfect and nice, but both have pretty twisted characters. I mean Akane is also a ‘nice guy’ but everyone knows about his yandere tendencies, and he’s pretty free about what he thinks. On top of that, there’s also the shady business going on in the Minamoto and Akane families.
Akane: BUT THEN, what if Akane is the Nene in their triangle. Admittedly, a lot of Teru’s actions could be interpreted as him teasing the boy he likes who’s already in love with someone else. IT CHECKS OUT.
Akane and Aoi: Or you know he could have a crush on the both of them. This is just headcanon after all.
3.What on earth is Natsuhiko’s deal?
I swear he’s like the wolf in sheep’s clothing. Always beware the fool. I have this weird headcanon that he belongs to a family that’s also spiritually inclined like the Minamotos and the Akanes. Who knows, what if both Sakura and Tsukasa are dead supernaturals and Natsuhiko is their link to the living world?
Someone pointed out how the room with the mirror and the toys could be Hanako’s boundary. Besides the fact that we didn’t see any water, I would say that that is one brilliant observation! I could easily believe that. With what we know now about Sumire and from what Tsukasa said about not seeing Hanako for ten to twenty years, Hanako probably left Tsukasa, his yorishiro, in his boundary and never went to see him. The implications are horrifying. As we saw with Sumire, she kept relieving her death. That’s bad enough with No. 6 letting her die. But based on what we know, unless something else gets revealed, Amane was the one to kill Tsukasa. And he left Tsukasa in the boundary for ten to twenty years to relieve that? If true, I really will have to reevaluate my whole opinion about Hanako.
I think based on what we saw, if that really is their boundary, it may be a replica of the twin’s room, what with all those toys, and by the time we arrive at that point when we’ll see Hanako’s boundary, I think that’s where the key Nene picked up from Amane in the past will play a part. Is that the key to their house? The twin’s bedroom? Perhaps a secret tree house? There must have been a repercussion as well with Nene picking up that key from the past, because if it’s with her now, then it wasn’t with Amane in the past, and that may have changed something.
If that’s true, then it was Sakura and Natsuhiko who broke Tsukasa out. Again it gives credence to the Sakura-is-already-dead theory, because Tsukasa grants the wishes of the dead, so perhaps there was a wish that Sakura had to have granted no matter what, enough to bind herself to Tsukasa, like how Nene did with Hanako.
(A bit of a sideline, LISTEN I STILL HAVE HOPE FOR A HAPPY ENDING OK. Kamisama Hajimemashita also had time travel shenanigans. and it looked like the protagonist would die, but all of those time travel shenanigans were necessary for them to earn their happy ending. Time isn’t a straight line after all. It’s more like a loop or a circle. What will happen has already happened.)
4. Why are Tsukasa and Sumire the only human yorishiros?
Although Tsukasa as a yorishiro is not yet confirmed, I still have to wonder why. All of the supernaturals had or have strong ties to a living human. No. 1 has Akane-kun, Yako had Misaki, Mitsuba has Kou, Shijima had Mei, and Tsuchigomori had Amane. We don’t know what No. 1 and Mitsuba’s yorishiro are, but for the other three, the yorishiros they have are in relation to their precious humans.
I can’t imagine that Yako loved Misaki less than No. 6 or Hanako (presumably) loved Sumire, or Tsukasa, and yet Misaki isn’t Yako’s yorishiro nor is Mei, Shijima’s yorishiro, and I have to wonder why.
Is it because Misaki and Mei had already passed on peacefully, while in contrast Tsukasa and Sumire wanted to stay by Hanako and No. 6′s side, which translated to them being bound as yorishiro?
It’s stated in the story that yorishiro are the things most precious to a Mystery, but it also makes me think that yorishiros are the things or people that the Mysteries have the most regret about.
5. Why is Akane-kun affected by supernatural events?
Akane-kun has stronger ties to Supernaturals, being a Supernatural himself, unlike Nene who’s just an assistant to one.
So why did he forget about Aoi when Yako kidnapped her the first time around, yet Kou and Nene were unaffected, and why did the confession tree have an effect on him?
Maybe, because except for the deal with No. 1, for all intents and purposes he’s just a normal human being?
But this time around, he doesn’t forget about Aoi. Maybe because he was too involved this time so his memories couldn’t be so easily erased.
But admittedly, it may just have been a story telling choice so the readers wouldn’t know Akane had anything to do with supernaturals.
6. Why was Nene chosen as the kannagi?
This was a question I had all throughout the arc, and it still wasn’t answered. Normally you’d think that Nene became the kannagi the moment she made a wish to Hanako but Hanako later says that he had nothing to do with her short fate. So if Nene had never met Hanako in the first place, would she have been doomed to die for completely mundane reasons?
BUT THEN when she read her book at the Bookstacks, if I’m not remembering incorrectly, her first disastrous date was in college, but Mirai says in the Clock Keepers arc that she had less than a year to live, which means she’s supposed to die in high school. Why this discrepancy? Could Hanako have been lying? Did her lifespan shorten after making a wish to Hanako thereafter becoming the kannagi i.e. Hanako’s assistant? But again only those who were already near to death could have made a wish to Hanako so maybe since they were already doomed to die anyway, making a wish to Hanako and becoming his assistant was just the prerequisite to being the kannagi. Except in this case, Hanako wanted to change her fate. Perhaps opening a person’s book changes their fate. Nene’s book was read, Amane’s book was read by Tsuchigomori, but again no in-story event would support this.
Sumire identifies Nene as the kannagi, but No. 6 passes her by and identified Aoi as the kannagi, so again why this discrepancy? Perhaps someone in the past put a stop to the practice of sacrificing Akane girls (the Minamoto family perhaps?), but an Akane girl would always go to Kamome as a sort of back-up just in case.
Hanako was clearly lying when he said no human sacrifices happened during his time. What if there was a Hanako-san before our Hanako-kun? What if either Amane or Tsukasa made a wish to that Hanako-san, and as a result one of them became the kannagi or human sacrifice?
7. Why is No. 1 so important?
Kako is just sus af. Out of all the supernaturals, No. 1 always seemed the most powerful to me, which makes me wonder why Hanako is the leader of the Seven Mysteries. I mean when he called a meeting, only Tsuchigomori and Yako came, but when Kako presided over the meeting, all the supernaturals were there, except No.6. It was like Kako was the judge while Hanako was the defendant.
Time is an amazing power, even if it’s only in the school. Theoretically, if only within the school, doesn’t Kako have the power to reverse time going back to when Amane’s time when he was still a student there? Or does Kako have the power to transport people to the past while in the school?
Similarly, is stopping time for fifteen minutes the extent of Akane-kun’s powers as the Clock Keeper of the present, or is there something more to it? Why is it necessary for a living human to be the Clock Keeper of the present anyway? Akane-kun once said he was forced to clean the clock where they kept Mirai imprisoned so Akane must know the location of No. 1′s boundary and yorishiro.
Teru said it was important for them to get to the Clock Keepers. Would something happen if all of the Clock Keepers combined their powers (like some super sentai)?
And let us not forget, Shijima’s hint about Nene’s lifespan lies with No. 1, specifically with Akane. (Speaking of Shijima, what on earth was the price Tsukasa exacted for her wish?)
Who knows? Perhaps the key to solving Nene’s lifespan problem without sacrificing Aoi lies with No.1 and No. 6 as the mysteries who have dominion over time, life and death.
Seven questions for seven mysteries.

you matter to me
(mitsuba sousuke x minamoto kou | song fic | angst | 1.8k words | spoilers)
   — In which Kou and Mitsuba regret all the words that were never spoken —
Inspired by the song You Matter To Me from Waitress. This will contain spoilers from the manga so please proceed with caution. I am on a roll of pain. (unedited)
Tumblr media
i could find the whole meaning of life in those sad eyes
they’ve seen things that you never quite say, but i hear
come out of hiding, i’m right here beside you
and i’ll stay there for as long as you let me
Kou drowned out the words spoken between Hanako and Yashiro. Yokoo had told him that it was the day Mitsuba died. He watched his friends interact with each other as he stared at the camera in his hands. His fingers brushed over the name as he felt his head spin. His mind kept drifting back to that pink-haired boy and felt that he couldn’t take the heaviness in his heart.
“I… just remembered I had something to do.” He sent a sad smile to Yashiro and Hanako before standing up. Their faces turned from happy to concerned as he began to walk away. Hanako floated to his side.
“You doing okay, kid?” Kou wanted to say no. He wanted to shake his head and just break down. Instead, he held it in and nodded.
“Kou-kun…” He heard Yashiro mutter. He looked back at her. Without thinking, he flashed her a toothy grin. He didn’t want them to dwell on it, and making them concerned won’t do any good.
“Don’t worry about me.” He started to walk down the stairs. They watched him as he disappeared from the girl’s bathroom. They exchanged looks before returning to their conversation. There was an unsettling feeling between them, and it wouldn’t go away.
Kou wouldn’t walk far, only going one floor lower on the staircase. This was where Mitsuba took his last photo of something important to him. His words were still fresh in his head. He couldn’t bear to take another step. Instead, he found himself leaning on the railing. He could see the back of the school, where some students would play after school.
The sun started to set as the sky painted the trees a pink and orange hue. It sent him a wave of memories flooding back. He looked down at the tree where Mitsuba often took photos of. He took one of the photos from his pocket. He always kept it with him since it served as the only physical reminder that he mattered to Mitsuba.
He wouldn’t cry. Not yet, at least. He held onto the photo of himself, always remembering that he was important to Mitsuba.
because you matter to me
simple and plain and not much to ask from somebody
you matter to me
i promise you do, you, you matter too
i promise you do, you see?
you matter to me
He wished he could have been there for him when he was still alive. Even in death, he wanted to be with him. He wanted to be called Traffic Safety Earring Boy again. He wanted to take photos with him. He should have been stronger. Stronger so that he could protect Mitsuba from the rumors. He wanted to change his fate. Mitsuba shouldn’t have to die.
He wished to have another day with Mitsuba. See him one last time, and have one day to spend with him. He thought that he might have been alone for so long. Kou desperately tried to cling on to the hope that they would meet again, and spend time together. To have one moment where it could be stretched forever, and will be engraved in his memory.
He wanted to see his smile again. That bright smile when he took that photo. He wanted to feel his hands again. Even if it felt cold, he wanted to intertwine their fingers, just as his life would intertwine with his. He would die if it meant that they would be together. He would end his life if it meant understanding where Mitsuba was coming from.
He wanted Mitsuba to have a future. He wanted to be part of his future.
He couldn’t take it anymore. If he thought about it for so long he’d be in a sobbing state. He shoved the photo back in his pocket and turned to the door. Fate was cruel to them in a way that they couldn’t go against it when it brought them together. It was harsher when they couldn’t fight it as it tore them apart.
But it was especially unkind when he turned around from the view of the back of the school to the door, failing to notice a pink-haired boy walk to the tree.
it’s addictive the minute you let yourself think
the things that i say might matter to someone
all of this time i’ve been keeping my mind on the running away
and for the first time i think i’d consider the stay
Being with Sakura, Natsuhiko, and Tsukasa overwhelmed this poor boy. There are times where he felt out of place, so he often came to the garden to clear his thoughts. There are times wherein he wished he had his camera to take pictures of the area. He checked the photography club for his camera. But then he remembered that he gave it to Minamoto.
Minamoto. He wondered how he was doing now. Many questions flooded his head before he knew it. Is he spending time with his friends? Is he having fun without him? Would he be better off if he never met the pink-haired ghost? Did the young exorcist ever think about him too?
He shook his head. He was too confused about these feelings that he went out to the back of the school. The breeze ruffled the branches as it played with his hair. He watched the leaves fall as the sounds of the students playing faded away. He wanted to feel that way again. To feel like he was in place with other people. To feel like he belonged to someone.
Life was cruel to him in that it forced him to create a new personality for others. Then it hurt him when the people he called his friends forgot about him. It completely destroyed him when the one person who called him a friend, even after his death, would be separated from him. Life took away his friend, where, for the first time ever, he felt at home.
He found himself thinking of that traffic safety earring boy more often. When he gets bored, his thoughts drifted back to the time Minamoto took photos with him. When he’s walking across places, he thought about the time they met in Number 3’s boundary. Whenever he caught a glimpse of his face, he never forgot that moment where Minamoto fell in order to understand him.
Minamoto fell for Mitsuba. Even if it was literal, it also crossed his mind, at least once, that maybe he fell for him, in a figurative way. He looked at the school, staring at the staircase. It’s where he took his last photo. A photo that reminded him of something important. Someone important.
Had he arrived a moment earlier, he would have caught Minamoto’s eyes again.
because you matter to me
simple and plain and not much to ask from somebody
you matter to me
i promise you do, you, you matter too
i promise you do, you see?
you matter to me
He wished he was alive. He wanted to live a normal life. He wanted Minamoto to be a part of it. This new life, this perfect life, he wanted to have it. How he wished it was his. He desperately wanted nothing more than to be alive, to feel alive. He wanted so many things and wanted to do a million more.
He wished they met again under different circumstances. Minamoto wanted to be his friend, even if he was dead. When that traffic safety earring boy wanted to befriend him, he knew that his heart skipped a beat. Maybe it was because it made him feel wanted. Maybe it was because it reminded him of their time when he was alive. Maybe it was for an entirely different reason.
He wanted to see his eyes again. The way it shone whenever Minamoto looked at him as he took photos. He wanted so badly to meet him under the tree again. Take photos together, make fun of each other. All these things, even if just for one day, he would spend it with him. For Mitsuba, he wished it could be forever in one day. All he asked for was one moment where Minamoto was the only thing that mattered.
He wanted Kou to live his life. Although, he would be lying if he said he didn’t want to be a part of it.
Sighing, the pink-haired boy took out a notebook. That boy shoved it in his arms in Number 3’s boundary. He took a seat under the tree and began to flip through the pages. He saw many photos that he assumed were taken by him. As he reached the last page, something fell out. He picked it up and unfolded the paper. Fate was taunting him, he could tell. Something inside him didn’t want to read it. It hurt whenever he thought about the earring boy, yet something in him encouraged him to read it.
Hello, old friend.
Someone found this in the old gardening school records. I thought it would be nice to return it to you, even if I’ll never see you again. I kept your photographs. I was kinda hoping you’d drop by and pick them up.
I guess I keep hoping you’ll come back. I try talking to you, near the lockers, in case you ever show up. I always hope you do. I keep calling you “stupid girly face” just to get your attention. All I ever got was a bunch of weird looks from other students.
Still, I hope you can hear me. I try to reach out to you. I hope you can hear everything I say. That I wish I could have been stronger to keep you with me. After all, you were still that stupid girly face that I cared about. I kept thinking about you, and I always wonder...
If we ever meet again, I can promise you that I won’t let go. Not this time. I will definitely keep on holding you, and I won’t let anything come between us ever again.
I promise.
and you matter to me
simple and plain and not much to ask from somebody
you matter to me
i promise you do (come out of hiding i’m right here beside you)
you, you matter too (as long as you have me)
i promise you do (i do, promise you do)
you matter to me (you matter to me)
Mitsuba didn’t know how long he’d been crying. But once he felt the trail of something wet, he knew he couldn’t stop. He’d reread every word, memorize it until he could speak it by heart. He held it close to his chest, reminiscing the warmth he felt whenever his hand met his. It was a sign that he mattered to that boy.
Kou couldn’t help but ghost his fingers over the photo. He felt the same warmth in his heart whenever he looked at it. The detail of his body in the photograph, the way the background blurred as if he was the only thing he wanted to focus on. He brought it out and held it in both hands, reminiscing in the way his heart sped up whenever he saw his smile. It was a sign that he mattered to that boy.
you’ll see
you matter to me
If only Mitsuba had gone earlier. He would have been within his field of vision. He would’ve run down the stairs, and embrace him in a tight hug. He would’ve seen the way his eyes shone as he looked at him, like he was the only thing in the world.
If only Kou waited a little longer. He would have seen the tuft of pink hair. He would’ve seen the way his eyes shone as the sun reflected his eyes and made it seem brighter. He would’ve seen the smile that would outshine the sun.
If only they could meet each other, one more time. When that time comes, they would definitely tell each other how much they mean to the other. How much they mattered.

Walking Blind + Thoughts on The Little Mermaid Being Episode 12
Let’s Talk About JSHK Anime #2
Warning: Manga spoilers up until Tanabata Arc (basically that + the entirety of season 1 + the skipped arcs)
I’m gonna talk about how the anime keeps proving my predictions wrong with skipped arcs, and later right, with consequences. Due note that this isn’t me hating the anime (because I love it). Just my funny experience attempting to Sherlock my way through the anime, plus my thoughts on The Little Mermaid being the finale.
Tumblr media
No deduction works when it comes to predicting this series.
It all started when episode 5, The Confession Tree, came out. I was looking forward to it ‘cause I’m hananene trash af. Legit thought the entire episode was gonna be about Kodama.
But then the episode preview pics came out and I was like, “Sakura wtf are you doing here you don’t show up again until three chapters later?”
My first prediction was ep 5 would be entirely Kodama, and then ep 6 would be Young Exorcist. Seeing that these arcs serve to build up Nene and Kou wanting to know more about Hanako, I thought it’d be nice that we set aside two episodes just for that.
But then Kodama finished somewhere around the fifteenth minute mark, and we started Young Exorcist Part 1. Which was, you know, fine. But then instead of continuing, they jumped right to the end of the arc when Nene met Sakura for the first time, and then kept going to No. 5′s rumor and revealed Tsukasa early. Next episode’s title preview confirmed it, too. Ep 6 was gonna be 4PM Bookstacks.
Tumblr media
Okay. I still had hope. Maybe they just rearranged the order.
On the other hand, the lack of ‘Part 1′ in the title was alarming. And it came true. They packed four chapters into one episode. A lot of things got cut. There wasn’t enough room for the op, and they had to run the credits while the episode was still ongoing. Though, tbh, other than Tsuchi’s line about him being able to change the books (with dire consequences), I didn’t have much problem with the cut scenes.
Then this thing showed up.
Tumblr media
Before ep 5 I didn’t think we’d get Donuts until around episode 9-ish. But nope the No. 7s would meet each other in ep 7 (lmao see what I did there?). Again, I was fine with it, but I was a bit upset about Young Exorcist.
Someone said it may be moved to the finale, and I didn’t like that idea. Mostly because Yashiro, our main audience POV, isn’t in the arc. And it just sounds weird having a finale without your main audience POV.
They could put her there, sure, but that would mean adjusting Nene and Teru’s every future interaction. Even without shipping goggles or Nene’s romance-colored glasses, do you think Nene would still act the same towards Teru if she saw him hurt Hanako like that? ‘Cause that was brutal. Like she wouldn’t run and protect him like she did when they met Kou.
They put Kou and Teru’s resolution from Young Exorcist into their convo in episode 7. This kinda makes Teru a bit useless, though. I mean, he still doesn’t do much in the manga but the tension between him and Kou was supposed to set up this badass fight. Since it didn’t happen, and Young Exorcist isn’t gonna be the finale either, then he’s pretty much useless.
Anyway, the thing about Teru being onto The Broadcasting Club?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not from the manga.
I’m not sure if Manga!Teru is really onto them. As far as I remember, it wasn’t hinted anywhere in the manga. Do correct me if I’m wrong. So what was the point of that change?
I didn’t get pissed until halfway through episode 7 and suddenly Mitsuba was there, but no fishes.
“What is he doing here, where’s that puffer fish, where’s his murder? Hello?”
I was very neutral about Mitsuba from the very beginning but when he showed up where The Little Mermaid (and my fish murder!!!) was supposed to be I kinda began to grow undeserved resentment toward him (I’m cool now though!). Totally, totally undeserved, because it wasn’t his character’s fault.
I was happy because Mitsuba stans got to see him animated (he was cute, and his VA was so good). But putting him in episode 7??? I mean they just left Hanako and Nene’s tension unresolved like that. That makes the episode really choppy in my opinion. They could’ve had the coolest final shot of the season of Tsukasa murdering that fish to scare and excite the anime-onlys. They missed that chance.
We got to episode 8. Pretty solid. Still would’ve preferred if its first bits weren’t in Donuts, but solid.
Preview title basically confirmed they’re skipping The Little Mermaid too. That was when I lost hope in Young Exorcist. But I tried to compromise. If they weren’t animating The Little Mermaid, then they have to put Hanako and Nene’s conversation and pinky promise in The Little Mermaid at the end of ep 9.
Episode 9 turned out to be my favorite. It was all thanks to Natsuhiko. He really cheered me up over our loss of two arcs. And my prediction was right for once. Hanako apologized for ruining the donuts. That’s definitely not the point of their tension (Tsu-ka-sa and trust), but it was still nice and I’d take what I could get. The hug. The hug was very nice.
I was mostly content, excited to see my boi Akane the next week. But then I thought, wait, we only have three episodes left. And we’re definitely reaching Hell of Mirrors, ‘cause No. 3′s silhouette is in the OP. Then the horrifying thought hit me.
They were gonna skip Searching.
But! The freaking post-credit showed up followed by this:
Tumblr media
“They skipped Searching AND Clock Keeper??? Why on earth would you highlight Akane, with Teru of all people, in the OP then?! Paralleling Mitsuba and Kou no less!”
Due notice, yet again, the lack of ‘Part 1′ in the title preview. Before the episode actually aired, this was my train of thought: “Okay so they skipped The Clock Keeper and Searching, and decided to outdo episode 6 by packing 6 chapters (yeah, I counted “Reach Out Your Hand”) into one episode. Ahahaha ... what?”
Thankfully, they proved me wrong. Kay. Good. Thanks a bunch for fooling me with that title preview.
But then it freaking hit me. You got one episode left. The finale. Sure, Clock Keeper as a finale will be perfect. It’s a good hook for season 2. However. You can’t do Clock Keeper without doing Searching. It’d basically be almost the same as doing Donuts without doing The Little Mermaid. The finale wouldn’t feel resolved this way, because, again, there’s tension between Hanako and Nene (and Kou too) that isn’t resolved yet.
Not that Searching addressed the cause of the tension, but at least it brought the trio back to their status quo (well, with a bit of kounene and hananene development haha). Also, without Searching, it’ll only end like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clock Keeper itself is 5 chapters. They can cut and modify. Sure. But y’all saw ep 6.
So that’s why I was sure we’re definitely not getting No. 1 this season. To me, that leaves three options for the finale.
A. Delivery + Tanabata Arc
Best pick in my opinion
It’s the direct continuation to Hell of Mirrors
The main trio are all there, especially our audience POV
More glimpses of Amane is always a plus point
The ‘getting hit by a bull, waking up in the past, and seeing your boyfriend before he died’ is just so random I think it’d be a pleasant surprise for the anime-onlys
Just wholesome in general, leaves the audience feeling good
The-ma-tic!!! You begin the series with Nene’s wish and end it with Amane’s isn’t that just asdfghjkl wish wish wish, everything’s about wishes in JSHK
B. Young Exorcist
Classic boss battle finale
Just Teru’s badassery *chef’s kiss*
Hanako getting emotional (something we haven’t really seen before)
Getting deeper into Hanako’s motive (episode 8 would’ve been more impactful had we had Young Exorcist before it, what with his view of disappearing/exorcism for ghosts being salvation)
Kou’s character development
^ counter argument: he already got the character development he went through in Young Exorcist in episode 6 and 7, plus, he and Teru already resolved their disagreements - though, not as impactful as in the manga
Also wholesome, HanaKou is great I love their friendship so much *sobs*
C. The Little Mermaid
@emee-ems pointed out here: “it started with the mermaid so they’ll end it with the mermaid” and I agree
Yashiro being persuaded to leave Hanako, while their friendship was what began the whole series? That’s some good conflict right there
Seeing Hanako worried about Yashiro leaving him? Good shit
Also wholesome (extra shipping content never hurts, either)
Hanako willingly opening up to Yashiro for the first time!!! That’s a big milestone for them
Yashiro accepting that he’s just not ready instead of not trusting her like she’d thought is *chef’s kiss*
That pinky promise! Starting the series making a bond due to unfortunate circumstances and ending the series making/staying loyal to a bond out of choice??? Good shit
Aaaaannnnddddd the verdict was:
Tumblr media
Mmmmmkay.
I did previously think we’re gonna end the season with The Little Mermaid. But here’s the thing. It only works if everything is in chronological order.
Why? Because the tension that led to this arc in the first place is resolved already in episode 9.
The whole point of TLM is that conversation at the end, really, where:
Hanako apologizes for ruining the donuts (he already did in episode 9)
Hanako thanks Yashiro for telling him that she liked him
Hanako admits that he had a little brother and that he killed him (Tsukasa already confirmed both of this for Nene, both in episode 7 and episode 9)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So having Hanako repeating all this seems kinda redundant. Nene already knows. Sure, it’ll be nice to hear it from him directly ... but it’s too late now, isn’t it? It’s been four episodes. She’s met Tsukasa three times now. However, point number 2 is still available.
Furthermore, since Hanako already apologized in episode 9, I’m not sure if the fishes can use what happened in episode 7 to persuade Nene to leave him. I mean, she forgave him already. Tension resolved. They hugged and all. And it’s been so long since then.
Animating the fish murder scene is also kinda useless. It was supposed to give the audience a glimpse of how dangerous Tsukasa is. But we already know that. We saw him rip someone’s heart out and force-feed it to someone else.
The first half of The Little Mermaid Part 1 and The Broadcasting Club at the end of Part 2 are already animated in episode 7. That leaves them even more room for extra scenes. I hope they take good advantage of that.
Basically, they have to make a lot of adjustments and I’m curious to see what they’re gonna do.
I am happy that we’re gonna see The Little Mermaid. The way Hanako wipes Nene’s face with his sleeve, and then cradles her head? I need it, they make my heart melt. Can’t wait.

Can you please tell us about any of your self-ships?? ImreallycuriousbutImreallyshysosorryifthisseemsalittlebitweird-
........
t h a n k y o u
thank you so much
I have been dreaming of the day I would get an ask like this
I have finally been recognized as a selfship blog-
Anyway yeah lets fuckin goooooooooo
I've had a shitty week so its time to yell about kyoko and maybe a couple others who knows
I'll start with kyoko cos shes my main
So she was the one who first got me into selfshipping or at least she was the one I was thnking about when I discovered what selfshipping was
I've probably been doing it for years but my heart just saw her and went ah fuck and died
My friends make fun of me for selfshipping but I don't give a shit because she keeps me alive-
Also the fact that I have such niche f/os is nice because there's never any problems with sharing, mainly because half of the people following me don't know who they are probably-
Anyway back to kyoko basically she gets me to get shit done and calms me down and makes me borderline functional
She has to put up with a lot- ironically when someone finally asks me I have no idea what to say- all I have is I'm very gay for her
I'll talk about a couple other main ones too
So sakura was probably my second ever
She's just so gorgeous that I can see why natsuhiko loves her so much- my s/i would probably be constantly glared at by him lmao
I think you can just tell that I love women who are super intelligent and independent... most of the time *looks at the few dumbasses on the list*
I have a playlist on yt of videos with girls in the thumbnails that my heart went oop when I saw
Essentially I am a huge simp and I admit it
I want women who scare me and could absolutely kill me so easily or ruin my life indirectly
The second I saw kido, literally her first appearance in the manga, I thought fuck she's gonna be mine I can tell already
I just wish I could draw or had the courage to write about my selfshipping because I'm really into it now and I rely on it a lot
Anyway this is probably way more than you were expecting so I'll stop
But thank you I think I'm a bit braver now, might talk about selfshipping unprompted more-
