i feel as if im going mad so im going to just put this out here. real quick. movieunleashers starters ramble.

i cant stop thinking about how mudkip broke down in that one scene in "Typomaniac," when Chespin called him mean. for a second he lets his mask slip a little bit and to me he just... acts his age. he starts crying and calls chespin mean back. maybe im just hyperfocusing on this one detail but mudkip is about 12 years old.

and that just makes me wonder what happened in this guys life that brought him to where he is now. and it makes it all the more tragic how his whole world revolves around chespin, but he is the one bringing him the most pain. and how young he was when he died.

there is a large theme of growing up in "Rare Candy." the characters ages are emphasized in that particular episode, and one of the main conflicts is fennekin wanting to evolve faster.

the thing about characters in these stories is that they're not allowed to just be kids, to have a childhood. so many bad things happen to them. like. mudkips whole, Everything. fennekin when she was famous in typomaniac, or dealing with her own insecurities/pressure from society about her relationship w chespin. and chespin always having to shoulder his friends problems & always somehow managing to stay positive despite everything.

why cant they just. play video games. eat ice cream or something. go to the movies

at the end of the day, i think both mudkip and fennekin are characters who grew up too fast. by distancing himself from them, chespin refused to follow in their footsteps and just wanted to stay a kid.

I've been thinking of that one piece you did with Faux putting on the Cyberhead esp what u put in the tags abt the idea that Faux comes back as Red postgame. I usually go with the theory/HC that an ai was made for red but your idea is super interesting.

like it would make sense for Faux to go by Red now bc outside of the law/police force the BRC, DJ Cyber/Futurism and the other rival crews most likely hate his guts now ( along with like the civilians that had to witness the events of the storymode ) i'd love to learn more abt this au/headcanon btw!

i started thinking more about faux and just his overall situation and read waaay too deep into his character/actions so i became this while thinking about the hc/au

ill slap it under a readmore, unsure if its considered spoilers but it is post-game

so the idea is that after the game escher finds faux's head/body and put him back together. the two talk it out, and he gives faux the option to start new, much like how he did with red earlier in the game. knowing this is his last chance to finally get rid of his roots; to finally get away from the police, he takes it.

knowing that everyone hates him or is after him he dons a fake cyberhead from escher and starts a new identity. he hides away from everyone and never talks, not wanting to get close to anyone and be betrayed again (or to get involved with others, he doesnt need another target on his back). he slowly changes into a person who enjoys being a writer for the sake of it again like he used to, the chains of his past slowly coming off of him.

does he end up running into BRC or the other gangs later on? possibly, im unsure on how that would play out, although he might be given a chance if he seemed genuine in wanting to/has changed. (thats assuming they figure out its faux in the first place)

how did you ask your mother for a binder? like what's the script? like my mother was the first person I came out to when i was 12 [it went something like "huh. i think i'm bi. i'll keep this hidden for a little while" *proceeds to tell mama the following day*]. And then later, she was the first person I said out loud to that I didn't know my gender and I wanted to use they/them pronouns. but also I am still VERY feminine (bc I want to be) and I think she'd have a hard time wrapping her brain around my child a) likes their name, b) still likes presenting pretty feminine (leggings, tight shirts, crop tops, frilly dresses, heels, etc), c) goes by they/them pronouns and is nonbinary, but d) wants a binder. like i'm almost 18 but that's still a little too long for me to want to wait.

Absolutely wild that the two teen characters that are actually big siblings, and are canonically good big siblings, so often get those relationships erased by fandom (Jonathan) or just straight up makes them terrible (Nancy).

Like protecting Will (and later El) is straight up Jonathan's main motivator for a majority of the seasons? There are fics to be written about Jonathan allowing himself to be more than a second parent too young and getting to be a dumb teenager himself but that's rarely what people are doing in fics.

Mike and Nancy certainly argue a lot more (though is it surprising with how head strong they both are), but also show to care about each other SO INCREDIBLY MUCH. We see her be kind to her brothers friends and watch out for them too. Just because Nancy is a less traditionally nurturing character (which i love about her!) Doesn't make her a bad older sibling lol.

Do I think that Steve definitely stepped up into an older brother role for Dustin, and even to an extent Max and the Sinclair's? (Tho Erica ofc already has an older brother in Lucas that she loves very much miss "i went to every one of your games but the one that mattered") yes I do, even though we only get fragments of it on screen. I love fics where he older brothers the whole party, too!

But like, you don't have to erase the canonical sibling relationships (one of which is so so so so important to the characters and the plot!!) in order to do so. People can have multiple older siblings they look up too lol.

YES EXACTLY!! Crowley even mentions that their miracle together was unexpectedly powerful! I can't believe they just went "oops" about it and pretended it wasn't a big deal or didn't even REALIZE how great they could be together.

So, what if Metatron saw this power and was so scared of it he came up with a plan that would definitely split Aziraphale and Crowley, just to protect how things are and keep going with world destruction plan 2.0
