You talked about SG quintessons being like the pemalites, and i want to hear more
This post might not go through because my wifi is absolutely fragged right now, but let me go bring down one of my Animorphs books, fuck I haven't touched these suckers (affectionate) in years
Now I'm gonna be using books 10: the android and the Ellimist Chronicals as references, as again it's been years, fuck it's been so long I missed the smell of these books.
Our first excerpt sets up our initial situation: the pemalites (and likely the SG quintessons) were a quite long lived race, just... loving life. Loving their own lives, and the lives of others. Just... a sweet race, imo the pemalites were the closest damn thing to an objectively morally good race. page 102 (10: the android)
Here's our explanation for why they made the chee (and, possibly a similar line of thinking for the SG quintessons?), page 103 (10: the android)
This just says what we've established again but i just wanted to show it. page 104 (10: the android)
Now this is also a part that majorly reminded me of what i can see the SG Quintessons having done, spreading life throughout the galaxy (carefully of course as to not cause invasive species. I suspect that, respectively in the cases of Ellimist and Quintus, they were taught quite well to avoid that.) page 181 (the ellimist chronicles)
Now i admit i still have a lot to learn about the baseline quintessons, but i feel like the SG quintessons in general would have valued peace and freedom, and that the self arguing we see in canon in SG can be depicted as far more constructive criticism rather than destructive. I'm ultimately fascinated by the setup the Quintessons have between their faces, and how they're ultimately parts of a whole.
... now, you can fully argue that the majority of their species went through an event/attack like the Howlers' attack on the pemalites (though, unlike the pemalites, i believe the sg Quintessons would be only pushed to the brink of extinction rather than fully succumbing to it).
#now i pray to fuck y'all get this post abd that tumblr doesn't eat it#whoever gifted me a fic I'm sorry that i cannot check it out until my wifi gets a little more reliable today#maccadam#transformers#quintessons#transformers shattered glass#animorphs#pemalites#book excerpts#i missed these booksâ they seriously shaped my childhood#i remember constantly checking them out of the library and getting yelled at for reading them in classđ
#who needs a happy childhopd when you have sci-fi books about an alien invasion_ child soldiers_ war crimes_ and animal facts?#i own the entire series now and i love these books dearly#... dear fuck i just remembered my crossover aus which i basically entirely abandoned#anyway i hope this post gets through and the wifi stops acting up ^w^

I just hit a follower milestone. It doesn't actually matter which one at this point, but I decided to take the opportunity to procrastinate yell about some fantastic people I know/still know because of this hellsite:
@archiivael says what she means but she isn't nasty about it (even when she thinks she is), and has a wicked sense of humor to boot. She's also the most even-handed, inspirational, no-bullshit leader I've ever had the pleasure of working with in fandom. She runs an 18+ Destiel Discord server that I help mod and the culture there is A+ phenomenal, in very large part because of her leadership.
@unforth is a talented author in her own right, but the thing I am scandalously inspired by is how she looked at queer fandom, and looked at the publishing industry, and looked at queer fandom again, and said "what if I gave all this talent a place to shine?" And then she did. She made a real, actual company called Duck Prints Press which helps fandom creators get published, with a big focus on vibrant representation of all types of humans, identities, and sexualities. Go check it out!
@skyisverybored started sending me asks a little after Heartstopper came out, and then we started DMing, and now I'm like "What even was life before Sky fell on my head?" They're compassionate. They're intelligent. Their sense of humor is a 10/10. They see through the bullshit. They're resilient. They're fucking brave. Every day I get up and go check to see what they're up to / how they're doing, and I am so inspired by their journey.
@kazshero isn't super active on Tumblr, but we see each other every day elsewhere. She's been in my life longer than she hasn't...which still doesn't feel quite real given I met her when I was 17. She's kind but no bullshit, organized but understands chaos, gets my niche Wheel of Time references, and has the most amazing accent. This only scratches the surface, tbh. Love you, K. <3
@leafzelindor is on my GISH team as well as the Discord I hang out on every day. I could go on about her for days, but I admit I'm not sure how much she shares with the public so I'm going to stick with the fact that I'm just so glad she's been in my life for the years I've known her, and I hope someday we get to meet for real.
@pallasperilous went from "a published author, how intimidating??" when she first popped into my life to "gossiping about the feral peacock that lives in our city" and incoherent "help I can't remember the name of this Photoshop tool" (that'd be me, not her) shockingly quickly. There are so many little things I could put in here, honestly. I can't believe we're friends. Okay, I'm gonna go now.
@jemariel and I have known/known of each other for a long time, and the more I get to know them, the more I want to know. They're such a great human and they're talented in so many different ways, but for the purposes of this post, I'm going to focus on the fact that their writing is mind-blowingly good. Seriously, if you haven't inhaled Jem's entire library of works on AO3, what are you even doing with your life? Go. Read. Enjoy.
@slytherkins is someone I don't talk to one on one all that often, but they're constantly in my notes and I'm in theirs fairly often as well, and I just super appreciate their presence in my life. They're also an EXTREMELY talented artist; every time their art floats across my dash I am so, so impressed by the life they breathe into the characters we all love.
@sapphirecobalt-1 and I didn't talk much before Heartstopper and ST4 came out, but since then we've been batting likes and comments back and forth like cats with smol fuzzy toys. They've become one of those people that I'm like "I bet saph would like this" when I'm reblogging something, and then I giggle like a loon when it turns out that I was correct.
@ao3soidade wrote one of my favorite Steddie fics (Are You Flagging?) and opened the door to a Stranger Things community that I simultaneously deeply enjoy and am occasionally intimidated by (affectionate). I enjoy her/our ST rambling and rants on Discord and the stuff she shares on Tumblr, too. The moral of this particular story is: leave detailed comments on fics you like, friends. You never know what might happen.
@eddiemunsonlives I have no idea if this blog is a single person, or a group, or what, but they reblog an absolutely incredible amount of quality Eddie and Steddie content. Whenever they pop up on my dash I know I'm about to enjoy a god damn Thanksgiving feast. Also somehow we're mutuals, which blows my fucking mind. I'm not sure what I did, but I'm glad I did it? :P
@itztigress3 and @northofantastic are two people I wish I knew better because they're up in my notes all the time and seem like great humans. I sometimes catch myself grading the quality of my original posts based on whether they interact with them, which is kind of hilarious. Perhaps I shall begin an affectionate bothering-them-about-everything countercampaign. *squints*
@taimproblem hasn't updated in years and faded off Discord as well when life got busy, but I can't make this kind of post without giving a nod to what a powerful impact he had on my life. We used to write together almost daily and he introduced me to one of my favorite artists (iamx). He also cracked the closet door that led to me being where I am today by simply existing, and that's...that's far from small. I hope you're living your best life, Aaron. You deserve everything good.
I am definitely missing people who deserve love and attention, but my kid is yelling at me and my cats are yowling and my house is still a disaster so I'm cutting off now. If we talk/interact regularly and I didn't mention you...I'M SORRYYYYY I promise I still love you @_@

⧠enhypen as your classmate that has a crush on you! ᢠâˇ
pairings: ot7 enhypen members x gn!reader
warnings: swearing, mentions of violence in jayâs one
genre: pure fluff + high school!au
a/n this also. Was in my drafts đ i was contemplating if i should post this or not but here i am đŤ i Post too much sorry everyone iJust have no life outside of school đââď¸đââď¸
â heeseung
heeseung is definitely the type of person that tries to talk to the person he sits beside all the time
he nudges you all the time and whispers your name whenever he wants your attention
and the fact he had a huge crush on you also added to it
enhypen always have to listen to him since he never ever stops talking about you. like ever.
âoh my god you will never know what y/n told me when iââ and suddenly heâs cut off by the rest of them yelling âwe know!â
you never snap at him because you kinda... enjoy the attention
maybe thats how you knew you kinda liked him too, since you could never let sunoo get away with this if he ever called for your name in class
your relationship only stopped there for a while, since the two of you lowkey scared of each other
âno i feel like y/nâs gonna snap at you one day, like completely just punch you in the faceâ jay once told him and ever since, heâs never looked at you the same
you think heeseungâs just intimidating, the amount of times youâve jumped in your seat whenever heâs called your name is numerous
although, one day you fell asleep in class due to the fact you left your english essay last minute the night before
heeseung, noticing you drooling on the table, wrote down the notes for you
he handed them to you after class and you were so touched that you couldnât stop telling sunoo about it
âhis hand writingâs so neat andââ âi get it, you can shut up now!â
you even told heeseung his hand writing was the prettiest thing youâve ever seen for a week straight
he was happy of course, but honestly unsure how he was supposed to reply to the compliment
he figured out by himself that all he needed to do was ask you if you wanted him to write your name
âheeseung, i mean it! i canât get over how you write âtheâ, itâs just soâ so neat!â âoh really? let me write your name outâ
being the smooth guy that he was, wrote down his number instead of your name
and you being the oblivious person you were, ended up being utterly confused
âheeseung i thinkââ âI WROTE MY NUMBER ON PURPOSEâ
you never really got over the shock, nonetheless still took his number and texted him that night
you ended that night by kicking your feet in the air with your face feeling like it was on fire
oh, you also ended up planning a date with heeseung on saturday, not a big deal
it was actually the biggest deal ever
the rest of the head canons are under the cut!
â jay
jay was 100% the type to tease someone when he had a crush to get their attention
he wanted all your attention and the way he got that was through telling you your portrait of a dog looked stupid
well yeah, it did but he didnât need to point it out
everyone in your art class knew jay had a raging crush on you
he just didnât know how to express it
his friend jake told him the way into your heart was talking about a mutual interest
jake was, sort of, right about his advice. well, until you and jay started bickering about a character you loved but he oh so hated
âmabel in gravity falls was annoying and weirdâ âjay if you say that one more time i will shove this paint brush down your throatâ
jake, who was trying to play cupid, could not understand why he was so bad at this
i mean jay had no problem getting girls to like him but you? did you genuinely hate jay or something?
âno jake i donât hate jayâ well that answered his question
âheâs just weirdâ âweird? iâm weird?â âyeah do i need to repeat it again? park jay is weirdâ you two were a match made in heaven
jay didnât know when but he had a revelation, maybe this wasnât the approach he should take to get your attention
after that, he started to be extremely nice to you
it definitely scared you
âd-did i do anything?â âwhat no? iâm just saying your painting looks beautiful y/nâ âoh no somethingâs definitely going to happenâ
he was finally tired of trying so hard while ending up with nothing achieved
jake, being the one out of the two who had the most realistic ideas, decided to give him one more tip
âdo you think itâll work?â âitâs fool proofâ
the tip was simply him asking you out to the movies, something that was a little too forward for jay
âno i donât think itâll work jakeâ âjay i swear to god you are going to end up single For the Rest of your Lifeâ
it took... many attempts... and many insults towards you for him to even get the first line out
âY/NPLEASEGOTOTHEMOVIESWITHMEâ âthe movies? sureâ âwait, really? i meant it in a romantic way by the wayâ âoh? sure iâm free on fridayâ
turns out you were into him too i mean it was kinda obvious from the way you dealt with those insults
even when you started dating after that date, the insults never stopped
it just now targeted jake, who really is just asking for it at this point from the amount of times heâs asked for credit for âgetting both of you togetherâ
he was never getting that credit
â jake
jake would leave secret love letters in your locker every time he walked past it
i mean the action wasnât as secret as he thought it was due to the fact you knew he was the one leaving those letters
for godâs sake the boy was literally in almost all your classes, you were walking the same way as him when he slipped those letters in???
you still were very grateful for them
without them, i think you would of not coped with school
they were all incredibly detailed and even had little doodles drawn around them
you once had remembered he mentioned that he wrote these in the morning before school started during first period
he also told you he was really really shy you found it incredibly cute
the only way he could speak to you without melting was through these letters
somehow you decided that the best thing to do was put replies in his lockers too
his first reaction was complete embarrassment, the fact you knew who he was had his face heating up like nothing else
but he soon realised you didnât think it was weird or creepy, you actually looked forward to his letters every school day
he mustered up so much courage after that to talk to you in person, to personally thank you
âTHANK YOU Y/N!â âNO ITâS FINE JAKE YOU DONâT HAVE TO BOWâ
he sheepishly rubs the back of his neck before pulling something out from his back pocket
the final letter in his series of love letters showing up in his hands
âopen itâ his shy smile making your brain Melt in endearment
the letter contained the usual, the hello y/n! and the usual chatter about his day
what you didnât expect was the fact he had asked you out at the bottom of the letter
ây/n iâve liked you for a while now, will you go out with me?â you read out loud before realising what you had just read. âOH MY GOD YOU ASKED ME OUT?â
you pull him into a tight hug, something that jake heated up at
âis this a yes?â âare you seriously asking that right now? of course we areâ
you two became the most sickly sweet couple ever
plus the fact you still placed letters in each otherâs lockers made enhypen gag (in an affectionate way)
they were just jealous nobody was putting letters in their lockers
â sunghoon
sunghoon always seemed to be there whenever you needed help
especially since you two helped out at the library together every wednesday
he looked forward to it every week, you could tell from the fact ever tuesday heâd remind his friends that the next day he was seeing you again
âtomorrowâs wednesday you know what that meansâ âyes sunghoon we know, youâre seeing y/n tomorrowâ
whenever heâs finished his work (which he does at an incredibly fast pace) he always seems to end up trailing you
constantly asking if you need help, desperate to do something
you find it endearing, always ending up chuckling at his whiney words
ây/n! do you need any help iâm finishedâ ânot at the moment but if you wanna chat i can!â
out of all the enhypen members i feel like sunghoon would have the softest feelings for his crush
like even outside of your assigned library work, heâd constantly check up on you during lunch
âhere y/n! itâs a packet of those gummies you likeâ âhow sweet that you remembered! thanks for themâ
you, even with sunghoonâs constant affection, couldnât realise he had a crush on you
you thought that he was like that with everyone, you didnât think that you were particularly special to get any type of unique treatment from park sunghoon
it wasnât until your classmate asked you if you and sunghoon were dating
âhey are you and sunghoon dating?â âummmm no whyâ âoh my friend wanted to know, they like him thatâs whyâ
that didnât sit well with you.
you thought long and hard about it but there was literally no reason for you to be bothered about it
i mean? you didnât like him like that right
wrong
you decided to ask his dearest friend heeseung for help
âheeseung what do i do why do i feel like thisâ âi donât know ask sunghoonâ â...you arenât helpingâ
heeseung being the big blabber mouth he is, told sunghoon all of this
ây/n wonât shut up about youâ âreally? youâre telling me the truth right? please donât lie to meâ
from many many uplifting comments from his friends, sunghoon was able to talk to you without mentioning the library
âso... what did you do in art class today?â âoh? i donât do artâ i mean at least he tried
after a few attempts he finally hit the nail on the head, securing his place as one of your friend... not the position he was aiming for but at least it was something
thatâs when he prepared himself for the final boss (thatâs what heeseung called the plan)
interrupting the conversation you both had on what disney show was the best, he popped the big question
âno but mulan was pretty good too also do you wanna go on a date with meâ âoh sure! that was really random thoughâ
i mean his timing was incredibly terrible but you were over the moon
even with the calm messages the both of you had sent, the two of you were screaming at your screen, unable to contain any composure
i mean itâs sunghoon... even if he handed you a piece of trash to as his way of asking you out youâd still say yes
â sunoo
no but sunoo definitely asks your friend what your favourite song is and puts it on his story so you can slide up and be like âomg!! i love this songâ
OH he also texts you randomly at 11:11 and 22:22 so you think itâs a sign
he so so so desperately wants your attention all the time
he goes up to you at lunch even when youâre with all your friends and makes conversation with you making you forget all about your friends
he sits in front of you in maths! so he knows how bad you are at the subject, he can hear your muttering about how you got a question wrong every morning but donât Worry! he finds it adorable for some reason
at first he started to pretend he wouldnât understand a question so he could find a way to talk to you
âhey y/n! whatâs six times five againâ âare you serious?â
heâs actually kinda good at maths so youâre always confused on how he doesnât understand basic multiplication but can get 90% on the algebra test
he loves, and i mean loves, talking to you during class
even if the teacher scolds him he doesnât care, itâs simply the highlight of his day
he gets so pouty and jealous when you excuse him in the middle of a conversation to talk to someone else
he gets jealous especially whenever you talk to his friends instead of him
âhey ni-ki! what did you get for number five?â âoh i gotââ âI GOT TWELVE FOR THAT ONE Y/N!â
you kinda adore it not gonna lie
at one point your teacher got incredibly fed up with you two talking class
so! sunoo resorted to passing notes to you
ây/n did you hear? oh my god, jihan from the maths class beside us told me that yeojin from the year above us got suspended because she started fighting the teacher over her phone. can you believe that? i mean i would of done the same thingâ
it was quite clear sunoo talked a lot even through notes too
i mean as if you didnât reply with the same energy
âI HEARD THAT TOO!! gowon from her class told me, plus! intak said he saw the whole thing too... omg honestly i think yeojinâs so cool for doing that. maybe i should fight our maths teacher if they try and yell at us for talking again?â
they were one of the many things sunoo loves you for <3
one day ni-ki, being the number one shipper of you two, decides to play Cupid on the two of you
he drew out a note that looked too similarly to a middle school confession text and placed it on sunooâs desk
âdo you like me y/n... tick one. yes. no.â âdo you like it?â âwhat the fuck is thisâ
i mean sunoo Took it anyways, he knew youâd find it funny too
as usual, you prepared yourself for a long class of sliding notes to each other
you looked forward to it, you found it as a source of entertainment and you liked talking to sunoo anyways
âpssst, y/n!â âthanksâ wait did you give me the right one?â
after many whisper shouts and glares from your teacher, he finally convinced you that they were the real deal
obviously. You chose yes
thatâs how you landed a date with sunoo to a picnic at han river
sunoo and you were. Kinda.... thankful for ni-ki
you two just never wanted to admit his stupid cupid-ry worked
â jungwon
definitely the type to ask you âwhat homework did we get?â so he can start a conversation with you
replies to your private story with like âomg thatâs so funnyâ or like âPLSSSSS me tooâ
you do exactly the same with his ps honestly
he always talks to you before class and you have heated discussions about the homework the night before
YOU ALWAYS ALWAYS end up sitting beside him in every class you have together
like itâs not even on purpose anymore (itâs actually fate)
always lends you pens and pencils when you forget them
he also never Asks for them back so you Have like a stash of them at home beside your bed because you always forget to give them back to him
you and jungwon are the kids in pe class that walk around the track gossiping
âjake told me that half of the soccer team arenât getting along these days because they all like the same personâ âno way really? what about their team work, isnât there some sort of huge match next week?â
the gossip only stays between you two but only ever during pe
you two talk about more, interesting things outside of pe
since you two are in basically every class together, you walk with him everywhere
once when you were about to trip over, jungwon caught you and when you realised you were in his arms, you just blankly stared at him for a good five seconds
once you got off of him your face started to heat up so fast jungwonâs too
every time you have homework due and you didnât do it he lends you his word
ây/n take this! itâs the french homework from last classâ âthanks so much jungwon!â
the real story starts with when you and him were practicing speaking french in the library
you, being terrible at french, needed some sort of help with this
jungwon decided that, even though he completely sucks at french, he should tutor you!
and there you were, ten reasons why i hate you style, in the library struggling on how to pronounce beaucoup
âbow-cewpâ âgood job y/n!â âjungwon i know for a fact that you donât know if iâm saying this rightâ
you stuck up with it because, well because heâs jungwon
âje t'aime youâ
i mean you were Terrible. at french but even the stupidest person in the world could figure that out
âi like you too jungwon, now help me with question sixâ âYOU COULD UNDERSTAND THAT?â âi had a paris phase when i was younger of course i didâ
turns out the Parisian style bakery across the street is the perfect date on an afternoon after school
what was even more perfect was that you got 85% on your test with the help of your boyfriend
â ni-ki
he was your partner in cookery class, the both of you had no cooking skills in your bones but you still made it work
you were in the class since your family constantly nagged at you for being terrible in the kitchen
while ni-ki enrolled because he needed the something to show his friends after school
ni-ki thinks he fell for you at first sight
you were baking cookies as your first task and you basically saved him by reminding him to put on oven gloves before getting the cookies out
âthatâs the bare minimumâ jay tells him. âi donât care... you wouldnât know what love feels likeâ
he looks forward to cooking class because if you every week
he even has it scheduled on his calendar
honestly itâs kind of a miracle the food you two make is some sort of eatable
he always asks you for help even if itâs the simplest thing ever
ây/n? which one is a cup?â âthe one that literally says one cup?â
you donât care though since you think itâs cute
you always end up doing most of the cooking and chopping whil ni-ki just washes the dishes and watches the pot boil which eagerly waits for the food to finish
youâve met all of enhypen before since ni-ki likes them to gather around your creations and take pictures of them together
when enhypen first collected him from cookery class, they asked him which one of your classmates were you
he literally shyly pointed at you as he hid his face with his hair
âthemâ âhuh? ni-ki who are you pointing atâ âthem, beside the fridgeâ
your final exam was to decorate and bake a cake
itâs safe to say from the many burnt cakes you and ni-ki have done, you two were in trouble
you both wanted that passing grade so you practiced almost everyday after classes the week before
he was in charge of the icing, apparently according to him it was his specialty
âlook y/n!â âhow cute! a little unreadable but very cuteâ
finally. the Day of the exam came
you both had to prepare and bake the cake together under two hours
you were lucky that you both weighed the ingredients before you arrived
it was definitely. The most stressful two hours you two had ever felt
it also didnât help that ni-ki shooed you away when he was icing the cake
by the end of it, your face was Dusted with flour while ni-kiâs apron had butter and frosting stains all over it
you were instructed by ni-ki and even your teacher, to stand where the fridge was, out of your sight to see what he was doing to the cake
you were hazily scrolling through your phone when jungwon snapped you back into reality
turns out jungwon was outside the room the whole exam because ni-ki told him he needed support and having him there comforted him
almost instantly after your jungwon interaction, ni-ki called you from your table, excitedly waving his arms in the air
ây/n! y/n! iâm finished!â âperfect! let meââ
your eyes widened realising his cake didnât say anything like âhappy birthdayâ like you two had planned
instead the icing spelt out a prettily written out ây/n, will you go on a date with me?â
your eyes seemed to water at the gesture, unsure why you got so emotional at icing
ân-ni-ki... thatâs so c-cuteâ âwhy are you crying? oh my god you hate me donât you?â
it took you ten minutes to stop sobbing (happy tears) and you gladly accepted his proposal
so now you got a Good grade and an amazing boyfriend that can... sort of! Cook
while eating the cake you were reminded with something, remembering some words from earlier
wait did mr lee know about this?

Restless Rewatch: The Untamed, Episode 24 part two
(Masterpost) (Pinboard)
Warning: Spoilers for All 50 Episodes!
Arguing
After enjoying a tense  afternoon with Lan Xichen, Wei Wuxian comes home to enjoy a tense evening with Jiang Cheng. He pauses in the doorway as he takes in Jiang Chengâs mood and decides which metaphorical mask he will put on to interact with his shidi. As someone who grew up with explosive people, I find this routine very familiar.Â
Wei Wuxian is always carefully playing a role as he interacts with the people in his life. Clearly he has read the classic sociology text The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life and is using it as a how-to guide. We see him do this same calculation over and over, in which he reacts internally to a situation, comes to a decision about what persona to inhabit, and then dons that persona. Itâs a typical abuse survival tactic and...it is exhausting.Â
This is why I think his leaving to be alone for a while in Episode 50 is a good thing. Being alone isnât better than being with someone else, usually, but for Wei Wuxian, who is (by Episode 50) assured of love but not sure where he belongs in his own life, being by himself for a while is going to be the best thing for him. He can learn how to just be a person, instead of constantly trying to mold himself to fit everyone around him.Â
For the current tense situation, Jiang Cheng is polishing his sword, which, incidentally, is slang (in English, not necessarily in Chinese) for masturbating. Which makes their conversation about how frequently it needs doing kind of a hoot. âOne time a month should do,â per Wei Wuxian.Â
Jiang Cheng yells at Wei Wuxian--fairly, really--for being drunk all the time and not working on clan tasks. Then he responds to a hug attempt by shoving Wei Wuxian and knocking him down. JC asks WW if heâs too drunk to manage his spiritual power. Now, we know that he doesnât have any spiritual power to manage, and thatâs the main point of this interaction. But it also shows us something else about their dynamic.Â
This was just a quick hit, and when it takes WWX out, JC asks why he isnât responding with spiritual power. Which means that apparently *every* time Jiang Cheng gives Wei Wuxian a shove or a shoulder check, or strikes him--like heâs been doing constantly since Episode 3--heâs putting spiritual power behind it. Thatâs...really harsh.Â
Jiang Cheng wants Wei Wuxian to fight back, and Wei Wuxian canât; this is a big part of why their relationship breaks down. Casual blows loaded with spiritual power are part of their vocabulary, and Wei Wuxian canât speak that language any more, even for basic defense. Heâs literally not safe having simple interactions with Jiang Cheng now, because heâs secretly disabled, and Jiang Cheng is casually injuring him whenever he gets too close.Â
(more after the cut!)
This time Wei Wuxian has had enough, and raises Chenqing to Jiang Cheng, who immediately backs off. Jiang Cheng has seen that thing in action, not just on the battlefield, but in a small room full of whatever remained of Wen Chao when they were done with him. He takes this as a serious threat, and backs off, disturbed and puzzled and hurt.
Jiang Cheng thinks the change in Wei Wuxian is coming from apathy, not from disability, and so he misunderstands it over and over.  Think of a friend saying âwhatever, Iâm sick of arguing with you, do what you want.â Jiang Cheng is very ready to feel rejected, and not at all ready to look at Wei Wuxianâs behavior and try to actually understand it.Â
Crying Over You
Wei Wuxian bails and goes to see Jiang Yanli in the ancestral hall, where she is polishing a name plaque. I turned the gamma way up to see whose it is and...I dunno. This character might be ćą (Jiang), I guess?
Jiang Yanli is the only one of the trio who knows how to mourn properly, in that she is taking some time to sit and be sad. Mourning the dead--both ritually and just in the emotional sense--is as important a part of reclaiming Lotus Pier as the training of disciples and having good times on the lake.
She asks him about his fight with Jiang Cheng and he says heâs used to fighting with him. Jiang Yanli asks him if heâs tired of living there, and Wei Wuxian deflects and deflects, saying âitâs my home, where else would I go?â and that if Jiang Fengmian hadnât adopted him he would still be begging in the streets. He says âno matter what happens, I wonât leave Lotus Pier,â which is not an answer to her question.
Itâs also not true. Like so many of his promises, itâs an expression of his wishes, with no space for the surprises real life is made of. He promises her that he wonât be reckless again, and asks her not to be mad at him. She says she canât be mad at him, and then they share a flashback about Jiang Fengmian finding him on the street. This is a story, not a memory; Wei Wuxian canât remember but he remembers her telling him about it. Jiang Yanli wasnât there, in the moment. So this is her telling the story as it was told to her, probably by Jiang Fengmian.Â
Flashback Time
In the flashback, picky salad-hating Wei Ying is out on the street, looking for food in a cartload of pretty okay scraps. I mean, yeah, skip the tomatoes, but most of the greens look fine. Â
Heâs found and fed by Jiang Fengmian, who recognizes him and decides to take him in.Â
Within a couple of episodes, we will see Wei Wuxian paying this favor forward, saving someone he finds starving on the street. Just like Jiang Fengmian, he's going to upset and disrupt his family in order to help someone for whom he feels a deep connection.
During this flashback we get a look at Jiang Fengmianâs sword, and it is a beauty.Â
What is Love
As the flashback ends, Wei Wuxian is smiling, hearing Jiang Yanli tell this touching story of starvation and orphanhood. She tells him he was born with a smiling face, and that he never minds much about sorrowful things; no matter how bad the situation is, he is always happy. Way to reinforce that metaphorical mask heâs wearing over his deep, deep despair, sis!
They talk a bit about Jiang Chengâs bad temper. Then Jiang Yanli says now that her parents are gone, they three are the closest in the world, and he responds by putting his head down on her knee and theatrically saying heâs hungry. But heâs crying for real, and so is she.
Then he decides to ask her why people fall in love, basically, and claims that he does not have anyone in his heart. He says thereâs no need to like a person that much, that itâs like âhaltering your own neck,â according to Netflix. Letâs have a look at that figurative language for a second, and whatâs missing from the Neflix translation.Â
What he says is (as near as my qhanzi.com skills can make out) âéä¸ĺ°ąćŻčŞĺˇąçľŚčŞĺˇąčĺä¸ĺĽçć´éĺâ which Google tells me means "Isn't this just putting a plow on my neck with a rein?" The part of the image thatâs missing from Netflix subs is the plow, and the hard labor and animal servitude involved in pulling a plow. This isnât a pro-romance image.
Heâs clearly thinking about Lan Wangji when he lies about having no-one in his heart, but right now the yoke that he wants to escape has nothing to do with Lan Wangji. The person heâs harnessed to in a team, the person who he labors with, the person he wants to escape, is Jiang Cheng. Whatâs chafing his neck is the promise he made, to stay and serve as one half of a pair, when he can no longer pull his weight.Â
Busted
Speaking of Jiang Cheng, he is hanging around outside the shrine, listening to the conversation. Wei Wuxian busts him, pointing out not that eavesdropping is bad, but that itâs bad for grownups. Jiang Cheng points out that heâs the master of Lotus Pier so heâs allowed to go anywhere he wants.
(I love how he looks framed by this giant lotus behind him)
We Wuxian has another of those moments where he assesses the best approach to Jiang Cheng before responding.Â
Then he picks a fake fight with him about soup. Â Yanli comes out and tells them both to grow up, saying that JC is losing his demeanor as clan leader. He jokingly fixes his already-perfect robe ad they all have a chuckle.
Then Jiang Cheng reminds Wei Wuxian of his promise for the millionth time, and Jiang Yanli goes to make soup for the millionth time. As soon as the boys see that sheâs gone, the smiles drop right off of their faces. Theyâre both performing their typical relationship dynamic for Jiang Yanli.
Being Reasonable
The brothers repair to the main hall, and stand behind the lotus throne looking out of this complicated wall/doorway thingy, while they talk about Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan.Â
Jiang Cheng is being mature and sensible here, trying to give Jiang Yanli what she wants and also explaining very, very basic political stuff to Wei Wuxian, who is too caught up in his hate boner for JZX to want to think about the bigger picture. He also thinks that Jin Guangyao is a nicer person, but Jiang Cheng says that nice doesnât matter. Â
Wei Wuxian is getting a full head of steam going about what a jerk JZX is, when Jiang Cheng makes him actually stop and think, by pointing out that itâs not for them to forgive or not forgive Jin Zixuanâs past behavior; itâs up to Yanli.
Wei Wuxian sees the reasoning in this, and starts to say he canât understand why Yanli chose to like this person, but then he stops himself and goes through a rapid series of thoughtful, uncomfortable expressions.Â
Perhaps heâs realizing that he himself has chosen to like an infamously stuck-up, fancy cultivator, albeit one with no soup-related character deficits.
Library Time
The stuck-up cultivator in question is currently in the Cloud Recesses library, where he has snuck into the forbidden books room, against his uncleâs express command, for the purpose of helping Wei Wuxian. The forbidden books room is an entire basement floor of the library; it probably has more books than the not-forbidden part of the library, since the main floor needs space for the restrooms, circulation desk, and copy machines.
(Did OP photoshop the Wangxian-in-the-Library porn picture onto Lan Wangjisâ book? She did.)
A couple of other Lans come along and see the main door unlocked. The lock is a big fish that probably uses magic for locking; it definitely doesnât use a key. One of them steps in the doorway, glances back and forth without walking through, and does not check the secret door to the forbidden vault. Gosh, how did Su She and/or Jin Guangyao  ever manage to steal secrets from this highly secure location, wow.
Lan Wangji hears the Lan disciple on guard duty say âdonât tell Hanguang Jun about this!â and has a series of microexpressions that might indicate some kind of feeling about simultaneously being a rule breaker and a rule enforcer. Â
Boat Time
We end with an idyllic scene on the lake in Lotus pier, where a new batch of disciples is harvesting lotuses and learning the opposite of boat safety.Â
Jiang Yanli and Wei Wuxian are having a good time, and seem utterly carefree; both of them are good at living in the moment, or faking it.Â
Wei Wuxian thinks, in voiceover, that it seems that itâs not so hard to go back to the old days. Uh...ok.
Except heâs hiding a massive secret and these replacement kids are not the same juniors he used to hang out with, and he canât actually teach them cultivation, since he has no socially-acceptable magic power, and everything is about to go to shit in the next episode. But you gotta take your joy where you can, I guess.Â
Note: There are a lot of questionable effects in The Untamed, but there are also beautiful scenes like this one, which looks like a Maxfield Parrish painting. Compare with the BTS below and you can see what a good job the VFX team did in bringing this lake to life.Â

(cw: brief descriptions of violence)Â
masterlist, AO3

At freshly 18, Celaena Sardothien was free. Sheâd aged out of the orphanage and was finally released to go live her own life, no longer held down in the outskirts of Rifthold. Celaena didnât want to wait a second longer, the need to leave the horrid place sheâd lived the last ten years was ingrained in her bones.Â
The woman who ran the orphanage, Clarisse, was cruel. From a young age, she poked at Celaena, commenting constantly on her weight or how she didnât act like a proper young lady. Her entire life up until this point was spent at the mercy of Clarisse and her stern ways. All the girls in the orphanage were treated as maids and dolls for Clarisse to manipulate. But, Celaena made it, counting down the days until her birthday.Â
Now, here she was, stuck out in the cold. Sheâd imagined her freedom to be more alluring than this instead she was shaking as she wandered through side streets that led to the heart of Rifthold. She carried with her a backpack barely full of her meager belongings and the too-thin coat on her back. Clarisse didnât even spare her a hat to keep out the cold so she moved her hair to shield her freezing ears the best she could and waddled along the snowy pavement.Â
She still had her kingsflame necklace around her neck, though, and thatâs all that mattered. Where she had gotten it from she hadnât a clue. The first memory she possessed was waking up in the very orphanage that would become her prison. Clarisse explained to her that sheâd hit her head and a nice man named Arobynn had brought Celaena to Clarisse to be cared for. Clarisse questioned her about her family and upbringing relentlessly but Celaena could not recall a thing. Her mind was blank. For many nights as a young girl, sheâd sit upright in the creaky, lumpy bed she occupied and willed herself to remember. Sheâd cry and scream, banging her fists into her head in frustration when nothing ever surfaced.Â
The only connection she had to whatever life she lived before was her kingsflame necklace. And sheâd follow that kingsflame to the ends of the continent if it meant sheâd one day solve the mystery of her existence.Â
Which led her to the first stop on her journey of discovery, Terrasen. Once Celaena had accepted that her memories werenât coming back and this was the life sheâd have to lead she adjusted. She served Clarisse and went to the small, dilapidated school down the street with the other orphans. There she discovered her love of books and the meager library the school offered became her sanctuary. It was there while she read a book on the kingdoms on Erilea, hoping something would strike her familiar she learned that kingsflame flowers only bloomed in one place, the capital of Terrasen, Orynth.Â
As a child that discovery was a revelation. Terrasen. Maybe she was from Terrasen.Â
As Celaena walked she felt her toes growing increasingly numb, Adarlanâs winters were bitter and she was not equipped with the proper wear. Her teeth chattered but she pushed forward, she needed to get passage to Terrasen.Â
She drew the map out of the pocket of her coat once again and checked the status of her journey. Only a little longer until she was at Riftholdâs main dock station.Â
The city of Rifthold was big and Celaena felt out of her depth as groups of people swarmed the streets walking to and from their different destinations. It was overwhelming, the smells, the tall buildings, the weather, the noise, the sheer number of people, everything.Â
Eventually, she saw the lights of the station and she blew a sigh of relief, she hadnât been very confident in her ability to read a map. She approached a man sitting in a booth behind a sheet of glass, smoking a cigarette.Â
Celaena stepped up to the counter.Â
âHello, sir, Iâd like to buy a ticket to Orynth,â she gave him a smirk, leaning casually on the box. Sheâd learned from many years of coexisting with Clarisse and a revolving door of people that to make it through life you needed a mask. Celaena had crafted her mask carefully and had perfected her act after so many years. She exuded arrogance and confidence so that another soul would never see the scared, lost little girl she truly was.Â
The man grunted, blowing a puff of smoke from between his cracked lips. âDo you have your papers, girl?â
Her brain stalled. Papers? She cleared her throat, âpapers?â
âYes,â his scratchy voice replied, âyou need papers to cross the border.âÂ
Celaenaâs heart sank but she kept her expression neutral. âWell, I-â
âListen, girl, Iâm not going to sit here and waste your time so donât sit here and waste mine. If you donât have the right documents then I canât sell you a ticket, simple as that,â he held the cigarette between his teeth.Â
She searched for some way to turn this situation around, chewing on her bottom lip.Â
From the shadows a little ways into the dark alley adjacent to the docks, she heard a hissed whisper. âYou, blondie,â an old woman emerged slightly from the shadows, beckoning Celaena forward with her index finger. Â
Celaena looked around, the man in the booth was already back to ignoring her, his nose stuck in a newspaper so she decided to approach the woman. She didnât have much to lose and Celaena thought if it went south she could take her.Â
Celaena crept closer, tightening her grip on the strap of her backpack.Â
âYou need papers?â Her voice was hoarse as if her throat was made of sandpaper. Celaena nodded her head keeping her guard up, watching her surroundings out of her peripheral.Â
âI know who can get you some,â her face morphed into a slight smile that unsettled Celaena more than anything. Celaena furrowed her brows, âwho?â The woman tsked at her, her hot breath forming a cloud in front of her face.Â
âThat kind of information isnât free, my dear.â Celaena had to resist the urge to roll her eyes, everything came with a price in this world.Â
Celaena reached around to the side pocket of her backpack, fishing out a few coins she had to spare. Sheâd saved just enough from doing odd jobs to pay her fare to Terrasen. She deposited the coins into the palm of the old womanâs hand, her knobby fingers running along their smooth edges.Â
âGo a few streets north and into the red brick warehouse with the large windows, you canât miss it. Ask for a Mr. Rowan Whitethorn, heâll get you the papers,â she instructed, hoarding the scant sum of money she was given as though they were priceless heirlooms. Celaena turned her head in the direction the woman directed as if she could spot the warehouse from here and by the time she rounded back the woman had disappeared once again.Â
Celaena huffed and shot another glance at the ticket man, he was still paying no attention, tapping his cigarette out with his finger. She didnât necessarily want to go on a wild goose chase to obtain these papers but she had no other way of getting them so she breathed deeply and shoved her hands into her pockets and twisted north.Â
The woman was right about not being able to miss the warehouse. It was a large, old, imposing structure, clearly, it had not been in use for some time now. Celaena crept closer peering into the foggy windows as she passed the front of the building. She couldnât see anything and was unconvinced sheâd find the elusive âRowan Whitethornâ inside.Â
Nonetheless, she approached a rusting metal door on the side and pushed it open with her gloved hand. The door protested but it miraculously opened revealing a wide area stacked high with boxes along the walls and corners.
She ventured further into the space, dust and broken glass crunching beneath her boots. She didnât see any signs of life besides maybe some rats. As she neared the opposite corner what couldâve been a makeshift sitting area came into view, blocked from view initially by a stack of boxes. She approached noting the circle of crates, a dusty blanket, and a few books piled on the side.Â
She peered at the title of the book on the top of the stack.Â
The Royal Family of Terrasen. Mixed emotions surged through her body.Â
âWhoâs in here?â A male voice boomed nearly rattling the windows. Celaena shuttered, letting her bravo fill her bones as she heard a set of footsteps enter the space.Â
+++Â
Rowan Whitethornâs life since the fall of Terrasen and the reign of the Valg had been a hell-hole, to put it bluntly. His family fell out of status, his parents were slain in the ambush on Orynthâs castle, and Rowan was left in an unfamiliar land at twelve years old.Â
A sect of the Whitethorn house had been visiting Terrasenâs court for the holidays when Maeve made her move against the continent. Doranelle crumpled first to her rule and Terrasen followed, the army of Valg sheâd amassed was too large to stand against. Adarlan only survived because King Dorian bowed down to Maeve.Â
Even now at twenty-two, he has nightmares about that evening. The terror he felt as Valg poured into the ballroom and slaughtered the royals. The terror he saw in the princess of Terrasenâs eyes as she was shoved into the kitchens by her nursemaid where Rowan had happened to take shelter as well. He was scared too, running as soon as his father screamed at him to as the Valg slit his throat. He regretted it deeply, leaving like a coward when the palace was invaded. He regretted the cowering he did in the kitchens as well but when the young princess had burst in the doors, tears flowing freely down her cheeks something had come over him. He had pushed her out into the snow yelling at her to run and she did, scrambling to find her footing.
The rest was a blur, the Vlag hurried into the kitchens soon after but somehow Rowan made it out with his life. The same could not be said for many people in the castle that night.Â
Now, Rowan lived in Rifthold as a thief and doer of otherâs dirty work. He longed for the day he could get out of this city of nightmares crawling with Valg. One day, he promised himself, one day heâd have to funds to make it back to Wendlyn and witness what had become of his home.Â
There was an opportunity, though, thatâd heard about from whispers on the streets. Aedion Ashryver. One of the few survivors from Terrasenâs downfall. He chosen to stay in Terrasenâs territory afterward, the country had no real structured ruling now. The old King-Consort Darrow was the closest thing there was to a king but from what heâd gathered the man is old and weak, not the same after the death of his husband, King Orlon. Terrasen had virtually crumbled.Â
Somehow, Aedion had built up the Bane and gained standing for himself. A standing he was using to campaign to find his long-lost cousin. How Maeve hadnât gotten wind of Aedion and his plotting and squashed him, Rowan wasnât sure. Nevertheless, Aedion was offering a hefty reward for the return of his dear Aelin, the nationâs true queen, convinced she was still alive.
Rowan thought the operation was useless. Her body was never found, that was true, but he imagined sheâd likely fled into the Oakwald forest and perished from hypothermia not long after. If he could make a pretty penny from returning the âprincessâ to Aedion, though, he wasnât above doing so.Â
All Rowan needed was a young, blonde, and blue-eyed woman he could convince to join his cause and he could coach her to be the perfect replacement for Aelin. Truthfully, he wasnât convinced this could ever be achieved but it was something heâd contemplated.Â
Rowan was making his way back to the warehouse he liked to operate his more shady business out of, the biting cold seeping into his clothes. The looming, muddy red-brick building came into view and he pushed the frosted metal door open. Immediately, he was aware that someone had invaded his space.Â
Small footsteps had disrupted the layer of dusk along the floor. His hand flew to the dagger strapped to his chest as he prowled further inside.Â
âWhoâs in here?â he called out, gripping the dagger tightly by its handle. Once he got far enough into the space he could see a young woman was standing near his makeshift seats.
The first thing he noticed was she was beautiful. Long, golden blonde hair flowed down her shoulders, her skin was pale and her lips had a blue tint to them. Rowan pushed aside all those unsavory thoughts, she was an intruder after all. However, he couldnât help but study her, she was dressed far too light for the dead of winter, not even a hat on her head.Â
She looked right back at him, accessing him as he was her. She didnât look scared to have been caught trespassing, no, honestly, she looked annoyed as if he was interrupting her.Â
âWho the hell are you?â

Almost a Dream
Jason awoke with a start, the senses he honed as a street kid warning him that something was wrong. It wasnât a noticeable shift, something a more normal person wouldnât notice, but to a person with his training it was glaringly obvious. The slight shift of the blankets, the dip of the bedâŚa quick peek confirmed what he already knew. There was someone else in his bed. The blue-eyed boy kept his eyes lightly shut, feeling the warm body next to him shift ever-so-slightly. Discreetly, he opened his eyes and peered at the figure that appeared next to him, gauging her threat level.Â
She was a smaller girl with blueish-black hair, likely of asian-descent, and a wiry-muscular frame not unlike Dickâs. Deciding that she was asleep, (therefore not much of an immediate threat), Jason went to move, planning on getting Bruce. He had only just begun to sit up when she pounced.
She gave no warning before lunging forward, giving Jasonâs throat a quick jab that left him gasping for air. Taking advantage of the moment it took for him to catch his breath, the girl grasped his hair at the root and brought his head down on her knee. A telltale crack sounded throughout the room and internally, Jason groaned.Â
âAhhh, Alfieâs not gonna be too happy about that.â His voice had a slight lisp, another sign pointing towards a broken nose. His assailant scrambled to get off the bed and backed towards the balcony, her hands quickly touching her ear lobes. She did not seem to like what she found, her face quickly settling into a scowl.
âI don't know who you are or what you want from me,â she began, settling into a (rather good) fighting stance. âAnd I don't care. I will be leaving and you will not stop me.â
Jason looked at her, grasping his nose that had begun to leak a small trail of blood.
âWhat the hell?â He wasnât screaming but he sure wasnât whispering.Â
âIâm not exactly sure how you do things in France, but I'm pretty sure most parents teach their children to not break into someoneâs house, sleep next to them like a weirdo, and then break their nose!âÂ
There was a chance that the bluenette couldnât understand him(there was no shortage of immigrants in Gotham), but Jason hadnât learned more than basic French yet. Technically, learning the more common languages was a part of his training as Robin, but he had kind of forgone those specific lessons. And why would he put in all that time and effort learning French when he could be reading more books from the Manorâs library?
She blinked at him. âWhat do you mean, I broke in? I apologize but sir, you are not pretty enough to pretend to be so stupid.â
The black-haired boy blinked right back. He may not know French but he does know an insult when he hears one, so he fires one back. âWell fuck you too.âÂ
The girl scrutinized him, her expression screaming âIs that the best you can do?â
âOh? You want to go? Fine. My middle finger salutes you and your assholeishness. Calling you an idiot would be an insult to those who truly worked hard for the title.âÂ
She stuck her tongue out at him.Â
âThere is a special place in hell for you, ya know that?â
The girl cocked an eyebrow. âIâm aware there is a special place in hell for me, it's called a throne. And those are bold words for someone who literally kidnapped me, but go off I guess.âÂ
It didnât take much more for the pair to dissolve into a screaming match, the bluenette yelling in French and what he thought was Cantoneese and Jason using more than a few of the Spanish phrases he had picked up from his dad and other folks on the street. Jason was in the middle of one of his more strongly worded combinations when the door slammed open, Bruce and Alfred standing in the doorway.
The both of them took a moment to examine the situation, Alfred accessing Jason for injuries while Bruce switched on the Batglareâ˘. âWho are you, and how did you get here?âÂ
The poor girl looked exasperated.Â
âI donât know how I got here!! Last thing I remember was collapsing into bed and the next thing I know I wake up to the face of this,â she pointed at Jason, âcreep who doesnât even have the decency to talk to me! I keep on asking him how I got here and why he took me but he just wonât answer. Heâs pretending that he doesnât know French, but who in Paris doesnât know French?!? I mean, sure, there are immigrants, but who the hell would immigrate to Paris nowadays? What with Hawkmoth akkumatizing people day and night.âÂ
She paused before flopping down on the floor, dejected. âToday was supposed to be perfect, the day I finally got my soul mark and got one step closer to finding my soulmate, but no, I just had to get kidnapped the night before my 16th birthday!â She put her face in her hands and her shoulders began to shake slightly.Â
Jason looked from the girl back to Alfred and Bruce. âIs she?â he mouthed, thoroughly bewildered. Bruce exactly as Jason felt, while Alfredâs face was twisted into something that resembled pity and understanding.Â
âMaster Bruce, may I have a moment with you?â Bruce sighed and turned to leave. Not wanting to be left alone with the now sobbing girl, Jason followed.
Alfred handed Jason a handkerchief for his nose before he began. âMasters, this young girl has been through quite the ordeal and I will not have either of you using your vigilante intimidation tactics on her, understood?âÂ
He waited until he got a nod from the two of them before continuing. âGood. You know, Master Jason, I read a very interesting book recently about Kate Goodwill and her studies on soulmates. And before you ask, Master Bruce, I do have somewhere I am going with this. The book was absolutely fascinating, the theories, the experiments, simply everything. However, the one thing that stood out to me the most was Dr. Goodwillâs research on the different types of soul bonds, specifically the one that she and her wife shared. Her research was kick-started because no one had heard of their type of soulbond before and it had caused quite the panic for both the young girls and their families.â He paused, making eye contact with Jason. âTheir soulbond caused the younger of the pair to teleport into their soulmateâs bed in the middle of the night on their sixteenth birthday.â
â˘â˘â˘
Marinette was not having a good day. First, Mlle. Bustier assigned her to work with Lila, Lila of all people, for the end of the semester project in summer school (which she was attending due to her absences as Ladybug and Lila was attending because she was constantly absent for âcharity workâ), then in the middle of the night, Hawkmoth sends out 1 and ½ akumas (long story), and now she wakes up to find that she was kidnapped by a psycho in her sleep? What the actual FUCK?!?! Where was Tikkiâs luck when she needed it?
And ok, sure, she wasnât necessarily proud of how she handled the situation, but she was under a lot of stress, ok! She woke up in a random kidâs bed with no earrings and no Tikki. And yeah, she probably could have done without antagonizing the boy, but it was so easy and fun to get him riled up! How was she to know that the yelling would bring scarier other people? Ok yeah scratch that she probably should have figured that out herself (I mean the boy obviously had money so it makes sense that heâd have more people around his house) but in her defense she was like, really tired.
She glanced at the closed door that the men had just exited, wiping a few stray tears from her face.Â
âIf only I had Kaliki,â she mused.Â
But no matter. She already had the beginnings of an escape plan forming in her head. Iâll just need a handkerchief, a piece of twine, and maybe a hairpin to pick the lock on the balcony door, but then how would I get out of the property? A house with a room like this must have crazy security measures⌠She went on like this for a couple of minutes, formulating her plan before she checked out the window. Three stories up...could normal civilian Marinette survive that jump? I would transform, I still have my earrings, but without Tikki I canât... She went on like this, thinking of different plans and contingencies. The bluenette was so lost in her head that she almost didnât notice when the three re-entered the room.
âMiss,â the older man who looked like a butler began. âI deeply apologize for the earlier behaviour of Master Jason.â He gestured to the now apprehensive boy who gave her a little wave. âHe has not yet learned French and had no way to comprehend the situation. I was able to hear both sides of the story, and I believe that there has been a large misunderstanding. You were under the impression that Master Jason kidnapped you, correct?â Marinette nodded, more than a little confused. âMaster Jason was under the impression that you had snuck into his bedroom in the middle of the night.â
âSo what are you suggesting, someone put me here without either of us knowing?â I swear to all things holy if this man accuses me of lyingâŚ
âI am getting there, Miss. I assume you are familiar with the soulmate story of Dr. Kate Goodwill?â Marinette nodded yet again.Â
The man took a deep breath. âI believe this is a similar situation, and that the two of you are soulmates..â
Her jaw dropped. âYou mean I...we...what? N-no way.âÂ
She racked her hands through her hair. She... she wouldnât overlook something like that, right? You were supposed to feel a sense of belonging the first time you met your soulmate and she...had kind of felt that. The more she thought about it, the more it made sense. From a logical standpoint, it would explain so much! Why he spoke English, why Tikki wasnât with her, why her earrings werenât on⌠Her face turned crimson as she realized the full implications of the statement. She turned to face the newly named Jason.
âOh Kwami Iâm so sorry Jason! I didnât mean to, I swear, I was just so surprised and kind of scared and oh Kwami, the first time I met my soulmate I broke his nose and called him every name that I knew,â she smacked herself on the head. âOnly you Mari. Oh gosh I totally understand if you never want to talk to me again Iâm probably the worst soulmate in existence I just-â Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the two adults leaving the room.
âYou can speak English?â Jason exclaimed, looking equal parts amused and exasperated. âYou spent this whole time yelling at me in French and Cantoneese and you can speak English? So much of this could have been avoided if you had just talked to me!â
Marinette gave a nervous chuckle. âUhhhhh, surprise?âÂ
At his incredulous look, she rushed to elaborate. âWell I thought we were still in Paris and no one has immigrated to Paris in literally two years so I thought that you knew French and the choice to speak English was conscious? Like maybe it was some weird interrogation tactic or something? I donât know, I was just confused.â
âYou thought I kidnapped you?â He whistled through his teeth. âYeah, I can see why you reacted the way you did. No worries though, my nose isnât too horribly fractured and I probably would have done the same thing.â They both chuckled.Â
He has a nice smile, Mari noted. (She wouldnât know until much later, but Jason thought the same about her laugh.)
âI think we should start over.â Marinette held out her hand.Â
âHi, Iâm Marinette Dupain-Cheng. I live in Paris, France, today is my birthday, and I think Iâm your soulmate.â
Jason smirked, holding out his hand. âHello Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Iâm Jason Todd-Wayne and I think you are my soulmate too,â
They shook, and that was that.

okay so itâs late and this is super off topic for my blog but⌠Iâm thinking about the teachers Iâve come across in my life that genuinely.. had grudges against me.
I mean⌠professional educators who went to school to learn how to teach, holding personal grudges against a third grader. how awful is that? how does that happen?
Iâm sitting here thinking about two particular teachers, the first being my third grade teacher who treated me so poorly. he consistently picked on me in class and would get upset with me for asking questions during our math lessons. I feel so indignant because what did I, as a child in the classroom to learn, do to deserve that type of anger from a 30 something year old man?
Iâm thinking about how a grown adult can look at a child and justify being foul and sour to them, to the point that it made me believe that I was just⌠not capable of doing math like the other students were. his insults, unwillingness to be patient, and expectation for me to fail was so obvious to me as a child that I carried the belief with me thatâd Iâd never be good at math through my adult life. I still think Iâm incapable of doing math properly. Because of him. I genuinely cannot help but think how my life would be different had he not made the choice, as an adult, to pick on me about my math skills to the point that my parents noticed. it is the reason I donât like math. itâs the reason I didnât do WELL in math as a young child. because this particular teacher made me feel not as if I needed extra help⌠but as if I were incapable because he decided he didnât like me.
another was my fifth grade teacher. a fifty year old woman who made it so obvious that she didnât like me that other students didnât want to sit in the same desk group as me. constantly picked on me for talking when I wasnât and actively discouraged me from reading in the classroom.
when I found that I wasnât good at math, I developed a deep appreciation for reading and would read in my free time at school. in her class, I would sit in the classroom during recess (because we had the option to) and read books Iâd checked out from the library because⌠reading was something I could understand and something I knew I was good at.
when the bell would ring, if I didnât snap my book shut immediately, I would be yelled at and have the book taken from me for the remainder of the day. this happened even if my classmates were still coming in from the yard. I would finish assignments early and pull out a free reading book, only for this educator to snap at me and tell me I wasnât allowed to until Iâd finished my assignment (despite the fact that I had). I remember feeling so humiliated and picked on by this woman who was supposed to foster that love for reading and education. instead, what was once her snapping at me only for me to correct her that I had finished the assigned became her asking if I had completed all my homework for the week. what was once a free reading period in class became a homework period for me specifically.
I remember feeling awful in class to the point that I stopped reading books entirely out of a fear of being picked on. Iâve been a well behaved kid most of my life, I have ADHD which affects my focus (undiagnosed at the time), but I would complete my class work. I remember feeling so defeated because I already felt I was incapable of succeeding in math and now, I felt afraid to read in an environment meant for that. after leaving that class, I never picked up reading as a hobby again. not until I was a senior in high school and had an English teacher who I particularly appreciated.
this is all just a long winded way of me saying that my life⌠my interests⌠my own self confidence in my capabilities would have been different had I had educators who understood what it meant to be an educator of young children. itâs incredibly odd to me that students as young as 10 can say âmy teacher hates meâ without adults raising an eyebrow. why is it okay for a grown adult to pick on a child in the classroom that way? why has it been so normalized for grown adults to take their anger out on the youth in their classrooms?
children are not perfect. children are not machines. they require patience and time and care and repetition. the fact that the some educators in my life didnât understand or respect that, yet they are still educators, and as a result my future and my confidence in my skills into adulthood were affected⌠is a disservice. normalize empathy in classrooms for children over 8. normalize understanding that to be a teacher means you canât hold a grudge against a fucking child because they canât pick concepts up as quickly as you can.
#this makes no sense#but likeâŚ. Iâm so upset#Iâm so upset over this and itâs fucked with me for my entire adult life#every time I think âhaha I canât do mathâ I think of mr. park crouching in front of my desk#and pointing to an equation I didnât understand saying âwhat are you not getting??? I JUST explained this.â#I think about sitting in front of my peers while he hands back my homework assignment filled with red and a note saying to stay after class#only for that meeting after class to result in me being yelled at and told I need to perform better#all I can think about is how AFRAID I was to ask questions#godâŚâŚ#FUCK educators who lack the patience to deal with children#FUCK THEM#also feel free to reblog this#Iâm more than okay with that#also Iâm sorry this is so long and to clog ur dash#itâs just important to me that people know this

BC Christmas One Shots (#1)
Pairing: William Vangeance X Reader
Warnings: None
To say that I was tired was an understatement. Our squad, the Golden Dawn, has been receiving much work since Christmas is near which I donât understand. Donât these burglars have any plans this holiday other than stealing and giving us extra work?
âY/N!â turning the heel of my shoes, to the voice that called me as our eyes met.
Mimosa came running towards me with a smile planted on her face. âKlaus-san, Yuno and I were talking about going on a little shopping trup before we get back to the base. And we were wondering if youâd like to come with us?â she asked, her voice a little too hopeful that I would tag along.
I smiled and nodded at the young Vermillion and she dragged me back to the group happily.Â
~Â ~Â ~Â ~Â ~Â ~Â ~Â ~Â ~Â ~Â ~
When Mimosa said that we had to go shopping, of course I knew they would buy presents for others, but even I never expected the amount of things in front of my very eyes.
As my eyes squinted at the sight, I looked over at the black-haired boy who looks as if he was smirking, âUhm, Yuno?â I called out as he looked at me questioningly.
âWhy did you buy everything in the toy shop?â he blinks at least four times before smiling softly, the kind of smile the three of us did not fathom to have existed in his vocabulary, âIâm sending them back home. Letâs go.â After realizing that he was smiling, he dismisses this and walks ahead of us with the pile being tied to a rope following him.
âDid he just smile?â Mimosa asked no one in particular. âOh my God, he just smiled!â she cheered.
âYuno come back here!!!â Klaus yelled and ran after Yuno and the two kept demanding to see the boy smile again like complete idiots.Â
Painting my own face with a grin, I started walking towards their direction before hearing a few boxes move to my right down an alleyway. Once my eyes landed on the stack of the said item, they moved again. Not another thief hiding incredulously in garbage.
Mimosa looked back, âY/N-chan? Are you alright?â she asked. âUhhh, you guys go ahead. I have something I need to take care of!â I yelled back as they nodded and left.
IÂ begrudgingly went near it, and prepared my grimoire, but when the culprit went out, I was surprised to see a ginger cat with blue eyes purring softly as it laid down its make-believe-house out of the carton.
Though I was not a fan of cats, seeing this one abandones at this time of the year, out in the cold with no one to help him or her somewhat made feel sorry for it.Â
So, in the end, I fixed his little house made out of the scrap materials present in the area, as well as bought it food and even a scarf that served as its warm comforter while placing a blanket above its abode for extra warmth.
âIâll be back, little one.â I whispered and left.
~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~
Ever since that fateful encounter with the cat, I constantly came back to check-up on her. After reading a few books about cats, which I had to look for in a local library since books about them in our own base went missing, I found out that the cat is a girl and so, I named it Cielo. Well, the captain did.
âCaptain Vangeance!â I yelled before he exited the room where the meeting was held earlier. âYes?â he asked as I gulped down.
Well, itâs now or never I guessâŚÂ âDo you happen to know any language besides our own?â he looked confused for a moment before answering, âAs a matter of fact, I do. Why do you ask?â sighing as I did not embarass myself I placed a hand on my chin and snapped my finger after remembering what I wanted to ask,
âCan you give me different translations of the word âSkyâ?â
âSky?â
âYes, Captain. Sky.â
âI can, but why so?â
âI-I,⌠canât say it.â
ââŚâ
âShall I write it down on paper for you?â
âYes please! Thank you, Captain Vangeance!â I sang happily as he amiably smiled at me before turning around and signalling me to follow him his office.
And so this little girl is named Cielol Latin for sky as her eyes reminded me of the ever radiant horizons during the summer.
I thanked the vendor near the alleyway where I always bought Cieloâs food. Due to the amount of missions I had, I was only given the chance to visit her early in the morning.Â
Prancing my way towards Cieloâs place, an unfamiliar scent welcomed me. When I took a closer look, I found the little kitten with a pair of mittens on her hands and a nicely knitted outfit just the right size for her with a bowl of milk beside it.
Huh? I donât remember giving her any of thisâŚ
Despite the coldness of tyhe ground, I sat on the floor and patted Cielo before taking out her food to which she purrs at me with a look that if one were to know her, she would be saying: Thank you.
20 minutes came by and after venting all my frustrations to her, I stood up and bid her goodbye. The sweater she wore looked nice.
~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~
Quietly eating breakfast to myself, Mimosa, Klaus, and Yuno were talking to themselves about, my nose picked up a familiar scent. ChamomileâŚ
Cielo has been smelling like Chamomile for the past few days so my eyes immediately wandered around as my nose tried to pinpoint the exact location of the smell.Â
Could it be David? Maybe. I heard from the others that he had a well-groomed cat at hime.
Letoile? Oh, I think sheâs allergic to them.
Alecdâ No. Definitely not. His attention and eyes are all for the Captain after allâŚ
âY/N!â shaking my head, I looked at Klaus who seemed frustrated and gave him a peace sign.Â
âHmp. I was asking whether you had plans on Saturday night. The Golden Dawn is having their annual Christmas Party. Oh,⌠I forgot about that. âOfcourse! Iâll just probably be a few minutes late.â seeing that I was awkward about it, Klaus thankfully pressed on the issue any more.
Still, whose scent does that belong to?
~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~ Â ~
On the night of our Christmas Party, I went to Cieloâs place first as I failed to give her, her treats in the morning since Mimosa asked help in decorating the Tree in the base.
Todayâs food was special since it was Christmas Eve. Cielo respectfully listened to all my rants about Vice- Captain Langrisâ snoringâ he ignored the claim several times when I brought it upâ so this was the least I could do.
Unfortunately, Cielo wasnât in the box or anywhere else for that matter. I panicked and ran to different places and she was nowhere to be found. Crestfallen, I decided to at least place the trinkets on her house to honor her loving memory only to find a silhouette present there while my kitten was backing to the corner.
I opened my grimoire and only a split second before attacking the person, a feather was seen in the light. Wait, feathers!? âY/N? What are you doing here?â Captain Vangeance asked me, walking towards my place where I could view his outfit. Cute.
Shaking my head I answered him, âGiving Cielo these.â I began, showing him the bag of things, âHow about you, Sir?â he looked at me, the bag, then back to the ginger cat, who was happily cheering for a reason I cannot understand, before chuckling to himself.
âUhh, Captain Vangeance?â
âPardon me. I was simply delighted that I was correct.â he replied, eyes locking with my own.
âH-Huh?â the slow minded woman that I am couldnât comprehend what he just uttered.
âYou see, Iâve always wondered why on Clover Kingdom must you always sneak out an hour early before breakfast. I tried following you to see of your whereabouts but I lost you on your third turn. Then I found her.â he told me, pointing at Cielo.
âYou know sheâs a girl too?â I asked. The Captain seemed amused with my first question at him after finding out about who the other person taking care of Cielo is before he hummed in reply.
âThe books about cats going missing in the library, the scent of Chamomile during breakfast back in the base, the pretty outfit, and of course, you! The animal lover! That was all you?â He nodded at me before I scratched my head.
Iâm such an idiot.
âOh, but I have to ask, Sir.â he looked at me, awaiting my question.
âWhy were you following me?â Did he⌠just blush!? Though it was barely visible because of his mask, you can see a little of it just slightly above his nose!!!Â
The Captain coughs before answering, âWell, Iâve been trying to find the right time to confess something to you, but weâve been far too busy the past few weeks.â he said. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.
âAnd that is?â I asked, biting my inner lip and preventing myself from squealing.
âWould you⌠like to be my p-partner this Winter Ball?â he asked, looking away to conceal his embarassment.
âL-Like a da-date?â I stuttered.
âYou can reject the idea of it being a date if youâre uncomfortable. And If you wish to decline then you have all the reasonsââ
âAre you kidding me? Iâd love to go on a date with you! Plus itâs a ball! Thatâd make it hella romantic.â I cheered, not realizing the words Iâve spilled.
A shiver went up my spine due to the coldness of the weather as the Captain placed his cloak around me, âWe should get going. The party is about to start.â I nodded at him before taking his hand and gently squeezing it.
âThank you, Captain Vangeance.â I said, making him stop in his tracks, looking over at me then to our hands clasped together before he brought my hands closer to his lips and kissing the back of my palm gently, caressing it with much caution afterwards.
âWilliam. Just William.â smiling in reply, the two of us looked back at Cielo, who was happy just as much as were that her parents finally met, while looking up the sky as dozens of snowflakes continued to fall, inviting people to spend their days inside their homes and enjoy the festive evening with their family and loved ones.

Fictober Day 5
Prompt number:5 (Iâm not saying I told you so...)
Fandom: Supernatural
Rating: Teen
Warnings/Tags: Alcoholism (slight), hallucinations, implied torture (slight), implied self-harm (slight)
Maybe Next Time Youâll Listen
Groaning as he came to consciousness, Sam rolled onto his back to stare at the dingy motel ceiling. Blinking his eyes several times and rubbing them with the heel of his hand, Sam let out a long sigh, trying to figure out what had woken him. Judging by the light weakly filtering in through the motel window, barely interrupted by the gossamer-thin curtain that covered it, it was getting to be 5:00 am, and yet Sam still felt as if heâd been woken up just as he fell asleep. Exhaustion weighed heavy on his body, a bone-deep tiredness that he should have been used to by now, after years on the road, running from one emotional devastation to another. Recently, though, the heaviness seemed to be getting stronger, harder to carry.
Looking over towards the other side of the small room, briefly glancing at the clock on the nightstand (which confirmed it was indeed 5:17 am), Sam saw Dean, who was still asleep, curled up deep in his blanket, his face pressed into his pillow. In sleep, as it sometimes was, Deanâs face looked years younger, and he looked at peace, not actively scared and fighting something in his mindâ a look he had on his face almost constantly now.
Smiling to himself and continuing to rub sleep out of his eyes, Sam turned over to face the wall and had to suppress a scream. Snapping his arm back to grab his gun and level it at the figure sitting in his bed, the sound came out more as a punched out whimper as his breath left him and he slammed his teeth down on his lip.
Sitting cross legged, leaning against the wall and reading a book with a pair of ridiculous glasses perched on his nose, was Lucifer. Shaking his head and clicking his tongue softly, Lucifer moved the muzzle of the gun to the side with a finger.
âCâmon Sammy, is that any way to greet your best friend?â Sam was frozen, his eyes wide and his breath coming fast, the gun pointed back at Lucifer but trembling noticeably.
âSammy? Are you ok?â Dean asked, sitting up groggily and rubbing his eyes, turning towards Sam and immediately tensing and reaching for his gun.
âIâm fine, Dean, just had a really realistic nightmare. Go back to sleep.â Setting the gun down on the nightstand and digging his nails into his palms to hide the shaking and to try and banish Lucifer from his head, Sam stood up and walked to his suitcase.
âGoing for a walk. Canât sleep, too much adrenaline.â Dean huffed and flopped back down onto his pillow, tossing his gun onto the nightstand. Sam winced at the loud noise, and again at Luciferâs quick chuckle.
âAw, Sammy, Iâm hurt. Donât wanna let big brother Dean know Iâm here? We could all have a little chat, a little family reunion. Now all we need is my hopeless brother, and itâll be a real one.â When Sam didnât respond, staring determinedly into his suitcase as he pulled on his jacket and a pair of jeans, Lucifer sighed and uncrossed his legs, tossing his book and spectacles onto the bed on the side where Sam had been sleeping, walking over to stand behind Sam.
âThatâs not very nice, Sammy, ignoring me like Iâm not real. If youâre not going to be nice to me, I donât think I have to be nice to you, either,â he said, leaning in over Samâs shoulder, his breath hot on Samâs cheek and neck.
Straightening quickly and walking back to the nightstand to grab his gun and stick it in his waistband, Sam then strode quickly for the door, patting his pockets once to check for his room key and wallet. The small parking lot was dark and cold, and Sam could see his breath in the air. Turning to glance behind him, he could also see Luciferâs breath, who was ambling casually after Sam, his hands tucked in his pockets.
Striding to a picnic bench surrounded on two sides by a small line of trees around the back of the motel and sitting down, Sam stared resolutely into the woods, digging his nails into his palms. When he looked up and saw Lucifer sitting on the picnic table, feet on the bench, he dug the thumbnail of his right hand into his left palm, closing his eyes and trying to settle his breathing.
âBrrrr, itâs cold out. Why did you have to pick a picnic table in the woods? Couldnât you have taken me to a coffee shop or a library, like a nice date? Câmon Sammy, you know thatâs not going to work. And as much as I like to see you in pain, itâs no fun if youâre the one causing it. You canât get rid of me, you let me in. You let this happen, Sammy. Time to deal with the consequences.â
Opening his eyes, Sam saw Lucifer sitting as close to him as he could without touching him, rubbing his arms with his hands without rolling down the sleeves on his olive green button-up. When Lucifer saw Sam looking, he put on a sad, pouting look and gave a performative shiver.
âThere he is! And here I was, thinking I would have to resort to much more crude measures. Though of course, I will anyway; itâs so much more fun.â
âWhat do you want, Lucifer,â Sam ground out, moving to the end of the bench and digging his nail harder into his palm.
âI should be asking you, Sammy. Youâre the one who let me in, after all. Almost as if you wanted me hereâŚâ
âNo! I donât want you here, I never asked for you to be here. Just leave me alone.â
âNo can do, Sammy. Iâm inside your head; much harder to get rid of than escaping from the Cage. Very annoying, by the way, leaving me alone with Michael.â Rolling his eyes dramatically, Lucifer threw his hands up. âI thought we were friends, Sammy, and then you left me with my self righteous, stuck-up older brother. I would never do that to you; here I am! Wouldnât want you to be alone with Dean, everything would be doom and gloom all the time. And I like doom and gloom, but yeesh, heâs a bit much for me sometimes. Maybe if he was a bit more...I donât know, peppier? Think I should suggest it to him? Do you think heâll listen to me? Hey, where are you going? Itâs a bit rude to walk away from someone whoâs having a conversation with you.â
While Lucifer prattled on, Sam stood up and turned back towards the motel, jogging towards the parking lot and back into the room. From behind him, he could hear Lucifer yelling after him.
âYou can run all you want, Sammy, but you canât hide!â
As soon as the sun rose enough for it to be reasonably considered morning, Sam woke Dean up and dragged him out on a case. Lucifer had left him alone for the hours since their scene at the picnic table, but when Sam sat down in the passenger seat of the Impala, his eyes connected with Luciferâs in the rearview mirror. His breath picked up and he tensed up, resisting the urge to turn around. In the mirror, Lucifer smiled widely and opened his mouth, looking like he was about to say something.
âAre you alright, Sam? Youâve been acting weird ever since this morning,â Dean said, sliding into the driverâs seat, managing not to rumple his suit in the process. He looked at Sam quizzically in between turning the car on and checking his reflection in the rearview mirror. To Sam, it seemed like he made eye contact with Lucifer, who stuck his tongue out at Dean, but Dean didnât react, still focused on his hair.
âYeah, Iâm fine, just a really shitty nightmare. Working on the case should help take my mind off of it.â
âAlright, so hereâs the deal,â Dean said, already focusing on the day ahead of them as he backed out of the parking spot and into the lot.
Throughout the day, Lucifer followed Sam and Dean around on the case, always just at the edge of Samâs vision but never speaking. Whenever he dared to look over, Lucifer was always leaning against the wall, staring intently at whoever the brothers were talking to, or picking at dirt under his nails with a knife. The knife always made Sam pause, for several seconds taking him back to the brief moments he could remember of what happened in the Cage. After the times where he looked up and saw Lucifer with a knife, he made a point of throwing himself even harder into the case, stopping himself from looking over at Lucifer for as long as his curiosity could manage.
After 12 hours of interviewing witnesses and convincing police officers to let them into crime scenes, Sam and Dean headed back to the motel. Once inside their room, Sam threw himself down on his bed, grabbing his laptop, phone and headphones, desperate for some kind of distraction. Across the room, Dean was changing into jeans and a flannel, running his hands through his hair a few times.
âIâm going to the bar to see if I can hustle pool. You wanna come, Sammy?â
âNo thanks, Dean, Iâm going to do a bit more research on the case and prepare some more questions for the witnesses weâre going to interview tomorrow.â
âAlright, suit yourself. Donât wait up, there should be leftovers in the fridge, make sure you eat something.â
âThanks mom, I will.â Sam rolled his eyes but smiled affectionately at Dean. âHave fun.â
As soon as Dean left the room, Sam dropped his smile and turned to face Lucifer, who was sitting at the small round table that demarcated the living room from the bedroom and bathroom, tapping his fingers.
âFinally ready to give me some attention, Sammy? I was nice and quiet all day, went around with you and Deano on the case, didnât stab anyone or set anything on fire.â
âYouâre not real.â
âCome ON, Sam. You donât really believe that, do you? Or maybe you do, and youâre trying to protect yourself from all the other possibilities. What if youâre still in the Cage? Never made it out, still stuck here with me and Michael.â
Sam stood up and walked to the table where Lucifer was sitting. Lucifer perked up for a minute, but when Sam picked up his gun and the bottle of whiskey Dean had left on the table, he slumped back down. When Sam pointed the gun at him, he simply rolled his eyes.
âCome on Sam, you know that wonât work. Iâm a hallucination, Iâm in your head. If you shoot me, all youâre going to do is draw a bunch of attention to yourself, and we wouldnât want that, now would we? I donât think you could keep up a confident and controlled FBI persona right now, with how skittish you are.â To emphasize his point, Lucifer jerked forward in his seat, making like he was going to lunge at Sam. Sam stumbled back with a shout, clutching the gun with both hands. Settling himself back in his seat, Lucifer laughed and shook his head.
âSee? You really are a kicked puppy, arenât you, Sammy. I can see why everyone says it: the hair, the eyes, the attitude. Oh donât give me that face, youâre making it too easy!â
Sam clenched his jaw, turning to toss the gun on the nightstand before slumping down on his bed again. Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, he opened the bottle of whiskey and held it to his mouth, taking several deep swigs. It burned going down, but it was a welcome distraction from the devil sitting at the kitchen table.
âYou canât escape from me that way either, Sam. I told you, hurting yourself isnât going to get me to go away, as amusing as it is to see you try. But of course, youâre not going to stop just because I told you that, because why would you listen to me? Iâm just the big bad devil, and youâre a Winchester, youâre so big and strong and smart, you always know what to do.â
Sitting up and reaching for his headphones, Sam plugged them into his phone and pulled up his music library, scrolling until he got to an AC/DC album he had listened to when he was a kid, whenever his dad and Dean had gone out on a hunt together and left him behind.
With the music playing, he couldnât hear Lucifer, and with his gaze fixed firmly on the ceiling he couldnât see him, either. The liquor was already giving the world a pleasantly fuzzy feeling, making him a bit less surprised when someone grabbed his arm.
He flailed in the direction of his gun, but stopped and groaned when he saw Lucifer, sitting on the bed next to Sam, poking him with the handle of his knife.
Throwing his arm over his eyes, Sam took several more mouthfuls of booze, swallowing quickly. After lying there for a few minutes, surprisingly uninterrupted, Sam started to drift off to sleep, but something stopped him. Was the room getting warmer?
Opening his eyes again, his gaze settled on the ceiling after a few seconds. He didnât understand what he saw, so he kept staring for a few seconds, before his brain caught up with his eyes. Sitting up did two things: confirm to him that the room was on fire, and make him feel violently nauseous. He could feel the fire burning him as it swept across the floor and onto the bed, but he forced himself to stay seated, closing his eyes and concentrating on the music in his ears. It wasnât real, there was no way a fire could have started in the minutes since Dean left. And the fire alarms would be going off, drawing the attention of the entire motel.
Looking up proved that the fire alarms and smoke detectors were all silent, even though the fire was still climbing up the walls and smoke was filling the room. The heat was starting to sear Samâs skin, even through the heavy haze of alcohol covering his brain and body.
Laying back down on the bed, Sam stared at the ceiling. Did he really care if it was a real fire? If this was how it would be every day from now on, with Lucifer always there, waiting for him to let his guard down, was it really worth it? Even after one day, the exhaustion he had woken up with was already almost unbearable, and he felt isolated, scared and alone. He could tell Dean, but Dean had only just started to forgive Sam for being soulless and for drinking demon blood, and he had a feeling the hallucinations of Satan werenât going to help his case.
âAlright, Sammy, fine. You win this one. Have fun drinking yourself to sleep tonight, Iâm sure youâll love that decision tomorrow. Have fun with all those nightmares youâre going to have; my treat. Iâll still be here in the morning, donât worry.â Sam didnât stop to wonder how Lucifer was talking to him, seemingly in his head, definitely through the rock still blaring in his ears. Lucifer was right, after all: he was trying to drink himself to sleep, in the hopes that Lucifer would be gone in the morning and the day would prove to be a sort of sick joke, or a one-off thing.
As Sam got deeper into the bottle, his thoughts got more and more muddy, until the room looked as if it was spinning from where he laid on the bed, and he couldnât remember why he had started drinking in the first place. Setting the bottle down on the nightstand, he pushed it over towards Deanâs bed, tipping it over in the process and splashing whiskey onto Deanâs sheets. He stared at it for a moment before turning onto his back and closing his eyes, falling into an alcohol-induced stupor.
Sam could tell he had regained consciousness, reluctant as he was to come back to the world. AC/DC was still screaming through his headphones, sending thousands of nails into his foggy brain with each chord. Yanking the earbuds out of his ears and throwing them onto the bed next to him, he looked to his right and saw Dean, asleep in his bed, on the opposite side as last night.
After staring for a few seconds, waiting to see if Dean would disappear, if he was part of a dream too, Sam groaned softly and turned over, facing the wall. Just as the morning before, there sat Lucifer, who looked up and fixed Sam with a simpering look.
âIâm not saying I told you soâŚâ

That One Woman
Pairing: Pagan Min / Reader
Rating: T (Strong language, violence, sexual undertones)
Description: Pagan Min saves you from the resistance, and you end up becoming his assistant, among other things...
Day one was like a roller coaster for you. You distinctly remember sipping from a cup of coffee, calmly meditating to yourself, thankful to be alive; when Pagan barged into the dining room and started making demands. The first demands had almost everything to do with what you were wearing...
"Oh Darling, you need to get out of those rags immediately. I don't need my assistant looking like trash. Have you ever heard of perfume? Yes? You need it." He insisted you soak in the bath for a bit, get your hair done, nails painted, you had never felt so feminine before in your life. Of course he arranged everything, had his best designer working on your wardrobe in the meantime. Your king's kindness had no limits it seemed. All the while, he paraded you around and lectured you on taking better care of yourself, "treating yourself" as he worded it. While before you never really had the money to do so, he made every effort to ensure that you knew that whatever you wanted was given to you immediately. After the work was done and you had left your quarters feeling ever so nourished and tender, he put you to work immediately.Â
"I need you to schedule a meeting with Paul for three this afternoon..." You followed closely behind him in stride, scribbling his words onto a tiny notepad he had procured for you earlier. "Make sure the kitchen cooks his favorite; steak and mushrooms, grilled onions, that special sauce-I don't fucking know what-with a side of mashed potatoes, broccoli, and biscuits..." You were already out of breath, he was a fast walker. As he spoke it was almost like he had taken you around the entirety of the mansion that was his home, before finally entering his bedroom, where his designer waited patiently for his daily fitting. "Oh, and try everything before it leaves, last time they overcooked the broccoli, and I was not pleased." You gulped, never having ever tasted for someone before, never having ever done anything like this before. In fact, you probably were the most under qualified person for this job and yet he picked you. Why?
"Yes, Sir." He made a noise of acknowledgement as his designer tugged on the sleeves of a bright yellow suit jacket over Pagan's outstretched arms.
"Also, I almost forgot, do check in with Yuma about the security issue we've been having in the west. She promised me a direct report by noon and its already ten, I do not see what's taking her so long."
"Yes, Sir." You waited another moment as he critiqued his appearance in the long sided mirror, posing, cocking his head from side to side, testing the look. You were wondering if he was going to say anything else, and when he didn't, you took that as your sign to leave and complete the tasks he had assigned to you.
"Oh, and dear?" You glanced over your shoulder curiously, he snorted. "Could you also find me a new designer..." His eyes then focused harshly down onto the poor man who had created the suit jacket. Pagan angrily started to rip the thing off, the mustard fabric floating down to the ground as the stitches were yanked out. "I am trying to look like a king, not a fucking banana!"
"Y-Yes, Sir." You stuttered out, exiting the room as swiftly as you could to avoid Pagan's wrath.Â
You wondered if the same wrath would ever be afforded to you. However, as time went on, as you soon became accustomed to his temper, his demands, the routines of his nation, he never quite yelled at you. Ever. One time you had made a mistake, the whole time wondering if he would at least make your death quick. At the very most, he sent you off with a light tap on the wrist and a warning, knowing you wouldn't be stupid enough to make the same mistake twice. Granted the mistake had everything to do with something as simple as how he liked his coffee, but he had killed people for far less.Â
In fact, what was once a stressful job at first, became plain fun. In the beginning, you didn't really have much of a choice but to become Pagan's assistant, but now you sat across from him, handling all of his important agenda, of your own free will. Not to mention, the gifts, he would surprise you with them almost every other day. You were practically spoiled under his supervision, sometimes even being allowed to sleep in if you had done your job well enough the day before. You didn't know why people hated your king, he was perfect in every way, you would worship the ground he walked upon if he allowed you to. Perhaps you were biased in the sense that if it hadn't been for him, your rags to riches fantasy never would have come true.Â
You had your own room, all brand new clothes, new shoes, all the food you could ever ask for, an entire library that he had dedicated to your hobby of reading, and an office that was the same size as your old shanty. Of course, with all the pearl earrings, luxurious bed spreads, the wonderful view, room service, security at every corner, why would you ever want to bite the hand that fed you? Of course, you would die for Pagan Min, because surely he had given you such a great life in comparison to your previous one, you'd gladly give your life for him.Â
And sometimes you wondered, if that was your only purpose, to make sure his affairs were in order and to make sure his food wasn't poisoned. It made sense, your undying loyalty didn't come cheap it seemed and you hadn't even realized it. These thoughts, these wonders, stemmed from the confusion that began this whole mess. Why did he pick you? A young nobody, he could have easily let you die that day. You were always too afraid to ask him the question though. You didn't want to sound ungrateful in your curiosity. You would sit across the expanse of mahogany wood as he shuffled through important papers and made signatures. Every so often sliding them across the table so you could organize them into the appropriate file.
It was hard no to stare at him, admire everything that was Min. That fluffy blonde patch of hair that sat on his head, how the strands flickered out in front of his reading glasses. The curve of the collar on his button up, how it lead down to reveal those few undone buttons at the top of his long sleeved shirt. His sleeves rolled up, taut to the crease of his arm, slender fingers sliding between slabs of thin white paper. Every now and again, those fingers would reach up to catch the tip of his tongue, and she would find herself licking her lips with desire, imagining that tongue on her own fingers.Â
"Darling?"Â
"Yes, Sir?"
"Do you have that paperwork on that shipment from Rook Islands by any chance?" You steadily weeded through the files, carefully removing the proper papers. You stood to step around the table and carry them to him. He didn't lift his head as he held his hand out, accepting the papers in his grasp. You moved to go back to your seat before he stopped you with the continuation of his words. "Volker sent me a letter again, the annoying twat, something about a mistake with the merchandise. You know anything about this?" He finally met your gaze, those glasses sliding down to the tip of his nose as he considered you. You searched your mind for an answer, truly wondering if you had made a mistake, or perhaps you had missed one of Volker's mistakes. You shook your head, twiddling with your thumbs out in front of you.Â
"Not that I know of, Sir."Â
"Hmmm," He crowned his fingers against his lips, sitting back in his seat, elbows on the armrest. "Well, you might as well have a look for yourself, might jog your memory."
"Of course, Sir." He gestured for you to come to him, sliding his chair back to give you room. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he waved for you keep going.
"You can take a seat, if you will." You felt your breath hitch as you lowered your bottom down onto Pagan's lap. Your whole body engulfed in his warmth as he scooted forward and his arms snaked around your waist to bring forth the paper work again. His chin rested on your shoulder, the embrace extremely close, his strong cologne floating into your nostrils. His finger pointed at the discussed shipment receipts and the letter from Volker. You tried to focus on the words as you skimmed over them in your mind, but Pagan's close proximity to you and the very noticeable lump pressing against your backside was all the more distracting.Â
"U-Um..." You cleared your throat, finding yourself leaning back into his chest. He shifted his legs further apart and you couldn't hide the gasp as the hard lump was a lot more accentuated against the curve of your ass in this suddenly all too short pencil skirt.
"Yes, darling?" He whispered huskily into your ear, your entire body feeling overwhelmed by everything Pagan.
"I think everything is in order, Sir." You finally were able to form a coherent sentence surprised at yourself for being capable of doing so.Â
"I agree..." You inhaled sharply, his lips barely grazed the spot below your ear drum, along your throat. "I believe you deserve a reward for your hard work, right, my dear?" Yes, a reward, please. You wanted to beg on your knees, beg him for it all. The one thing he never gave you, never gifted you, praised you with. He chuckled, hands suddenly came to your waist and he scooted the chair back again. He forced you to stand with him and then he was gently turning you to face him. "I am sure you must be confused..." And you were, being Pagan's assistant meant that you knew almost everything about his life. One of those things was his overactive sexual exploits, people, men and women alike, were constantly going in and out of his room. "I swing for both teams, Darling, and I have been swinging for you for quite some time." While one hand resided on your waist still, caressing up and down over the fabric of your clothes, the other was now propped on the edge of the table and he came closer. "You must understand, this doesn't have to define our relationship if we don't want it to, but the tension is suffocating. I would like to just finally have my cake and eat it too..." His eyes centered expectantly on you, for a response, when he added. "All of it."
"B-But, S-Sir, I just don't understand."Â
"Ask your questions, but my patience is thinning, and..." He almost growled the words that followed, eyes scanning you from head to toe as he pressed his crotch to yours and you gasped. "I might not be able to contain myself much longer."
"Why, me?" You didn't think you could do it, but you did. And this whole journey with Pagan has been a game of figuring out what you could do. Your confidence had surpassed the highest summit in the world, you felt like you could jump into a volcano and still come to tell the tale, like you could fly into space and catch the nearest star. It was all because of Pagan, you owed so much to the man, and all he ever did was give to you.
"You must be joking?" He giggled deeply, like there was some inside joke that you couldn't ever know, but he was going to tell you the joke anyways. "Darling, few know there was only ever one woman for me..." He cupped your cheek, and the other came to sink into the strands of your hair. "Until I met you that is."

Trust The Cat: Theo Raeken x reader
Requested by anonymous
Warnings: curse words, angst, fluff, bad plot
Word count: 3k
A/n: First of all, I am soooo sorry that this isn't very good. I will probably make a part 2 for this so maybe that'll be better.
Unlike most supernaturals in Beacon Hills, you weren't very close with the McCall Pack. Well to be fair you weren't that much of a nonhuman anyway, having 10% of yourself being witch and the other pure human. But still, you knew rituals that had to be done for certain things and plants bloomed longer around you. The rituals would maybe be useful for the pack but your parents strictly forbid you from talking to any supernatural other than your family's black familiar cat Diablerie, your father and your grandmother. Your grandmother being half-witch and father being quarter of a witch...or whatever you'd like to call it for men.
But still, at school, Scott had noticed that the almost dead anthuriums on the window had come back to life when you had sat beside them. So safe to say, right after school you were questioned by Scott and Stiles. Knowing full well who they were, you knew better than to run off. Scott would catch you anyway. So, you decided to stay and talk to them.
That had gotten you into being a secret informant if they were dealing with something. You were an absolute mythical creatures nerd so only by hearing few details about something abnormal happening, you already had a list of creatures who could do it.
So when dread doctors came around and you couldn't figure out at first who it was, Scott constantly checked in with you. That of course got Theo's attention.
And so, him seducing you and giving you all sorts of attention started. Your naive nerd self didn't think twice about it. Stiles warned you, he told you he was suspicious, he told you not to get involved with him, he told you something was very off with him. But his warnings were overrun by Theo's good looks and sweet words.
Little did you know, all he wanted was information from you. You had the bad habit of blabbing out secrets of all kind once you got talking. Could've been anything from something minor you did in kindergarten to pack secrets you were trusted with.
But when you finally saw his true colors, you were wrecked.
Why didn't you listen to Stiles? Why didn't you think everything over before rushing into the relationship like you usually do? Why would someone as good looking as Theo even want to be with you? You were a nerd for fuck's sake! Didn't even really have any friends. Yes, you were part of a nature club but that really wasn't something to stand out with.
Why didn't you listen to Diablerie when she attacked him? Every single person in your family knows to always listen to a familiar's intuition. In this case Diablerie knowing that Theo is not to be trusted.
After finding out about Theo's betrayal - and after his sister had dragged him away - you distanced yourself from the pack, afraid you'd blab out more secrets.
Other than Stiles, none of them could even come into your garden. Your grandmother and father had set all sorts of traps and spells over your living quarters. If anyone who didn't have the blood of your great-grandmother but was a supernatural even dared to put their pinky toe over the invisible border, they'd quite literally fall six feet into the ground.
~~~
You had just gotten back from your long trip to Monaco with your family.
With great hesitation, you had sneaked off to Scott's house. Telling your nosy mother that you were going to the library. Wouldn't say you were lying since that was your plan after.
Now you were here, wanting to get this over with before Diablerie would somehow send a signal to your mom that in fact no, you weren't at the library like you told her. The damn cat was very cute and huge help very often but was also too loyal to your parents for your good. Her being able to know everything about everyone in your family didn't help at all.
"Let's get this over with, I don't have much time until Diablerie-" you cut off as your e/c eyes connected with certain blue ones. Mouth still open, eyes growing wide, you slowly turned your body towards Stiles before grabbing him by the ear and dragging him to another room, muttering, "Let's have a word."
You shut the door after letting his ear go. Seething, you turned towards the brunette boy who was rubbing his ear. "What the actual FUCK STILES?!" you hissed like a snake.
"Look, I know I was the one to say he is dangerous and off and all that and he was. I was right, nobody wants to listen to me though," he gave you an accusing look but your angry expression didn't waver, if anything, it got even more furious. "Okay, okay. So, Liam and Hayden might have released Theo because, well, ask them." You blinked. What the hell? What were they thinking?!
"Stiles what the hell were you dealing with here?" You asked. "The Wild Hunt," he simply answered. Your mythology nerd self got switched on by those three words. "The Wild Hunt? Like the English type? Or the Norse like? Or some else type?" your curiosity made you forget your lying bitch of an ex for sometime. Stiles was at loss of an answer, "Uuuuuummm, I dunno, just Wild Hunt?" You rolled your eyes, reason for this conversation coming back to you. "Alright, well why is he still here?" You asked furiously. You were scared actually, scared of Theo because after you had gotten to know everything he could do, everything he had done, anyone in their right mind would be scared.
"Because he has changed?" Stiles replied as if it was an obvious thing. "HOW CAN YOU KNOW THAT?" you yelled. Actually yelled. You didn't need to be a were-something to be able to here that from outside of the bedroom the two of you 'hid' in.
"Listen Y/n, I know it may be hard to believe but he took away Gabe's pain before he passed. And you know a bond needs to be created for that. And he-he sacrificed himself basically and-" Stiles sighed when he saw your wide eyes staring back at him, they were getting glossy. Did he really do all that? Had he changed? Was it a game again? Was it a lie? But if he really took away Gabe's - whoever that is but seems like a good guy - pain then it can't be a lie. Right?
You were skeptical. Your trust had been broken, your heart had been broken, your soul had been broken. All by Theo Raeken. Were you really up for trusting him to be near the others and yourself? To be free?
"I... I should go," you mumbled. Silently, you opened the door and walked out. Every single person in the living room was looking at you, as you rushed through it. Grabbing your backpack. For a moment, your eyes met with Theo's. He looks cute with his new hair. Wait, what the fuck am I thinking? He smiled at you, making you frown. You looked away and walked out of the house, muttering a 'bye' in the process.
~~~
At home, you were reading "The Lunar Chronicles: Cinder." If staring at a book with a troubled face, thinking about a certain someone else and not memorizing any words from the pages counts as reading.
Giving up on trying to read, you grabbed your phone from beside you. You went on instagram, curious on why you have a notification there because you had no viral life either. You were horrible at taking selfies, so no basic girl posts from you, not a big meme maker nor artist who posts their stuff. You just followed your friends and some tags.
Turns out the notification was a follow request.
From Theo.
Your thumb stood over the Accept button. Your breath hitching when you realized that his profile picture was of you two making silly faces. You took your finger away and pressed the back button.
Sighing you picked up the book again. "Diablerie, what do I do?" The black feline rose her head. "Meow?" As you were petting the she-cat's head, you let out another sigh.
"You remember Theo right?"
"Meow."
"Well he is back."
"Meow," Diablerie nodded. What, she knew?
"And he apparently is different."
"Mow?" The familiar stood up and cocked her head to the side, as if asking either 'if you believed that?' or 'is that true?'
"I- I don't know. I mean Stiles believes that and you know he was right the last time."
Diablerie was quiet for sometime, staring at your blanket but not really because her gaze was unfocused. She was standing still on the blanket, tail twitching, ears facing different directions and tail tip twitching but not in an aggressive way. You realized that she was thinking.
You gazed at the queen for sometime before she finally returned her gaze back to you. "Meow!" she sounded determined but you had no idea what she just said. "Um..."
Diablerie gave you an unimpressed look when after 5minutes, you still hadn't realized what she told you.
The feline hopped down from your bed and headed towards your closet, tail high. You were confused on what the heck she was doing. With some difficulties, the she-cat climbed to where you kept your shirts. One of Theo's old shirts is there. Your e/c eyes widened as you remembered that. That shirt had been something that you lived your hate and betrayal because of a certain blue-eyed boy out on when he was dragged away by his sister. It was torn, absolutely ragged, had burn marks and looked very ugly with the stains of uncountable different things on it.
Once you realized what Diablerie was looking for, you got off the bed and went to help the familiar.
You pulled the drawer back and stuck your hand down to try and find the ragged piece of clothing. You didn't even know why you kept it, with your own clean shirts nevertheless.
The miniature panther like animal balanced herself on the side of the drawer as you pulled it and hopped down when you were pushing it back in and walking back to the bed.
Placing it on the bed, you gave the cat a face full of unanswered questions. With no difficulty whatsoever, Diablerie hopped back on the bed
She set her paw gently on the shirt. Still not getting it, you stared at your cat cluelessly.
"Theo?"
"Meow."
"Umm..."
Diablerie had a scowl on her raven black face at your response.
She placed her paw yet again on the ragged piece of fabric and then did a spin.
"Spin Theo?"
The cat shook her head.
Diablerie hopped down from the bed again and walked out of your room. Dumbfoundedly, you just stared after her in confusion.
As you were waiting for Diablerie to come back, your phone buzzed. Looking down, you saw a notification pop up, saying that you had a message.
Unknown: ÂŤHey!Âť
The message was from an unknown number which freaked you out. Was this a scam? Had you accidentally deleted someone's contact? Was there a proje- no you weren't in school anymore.
As you were debating on if you should answer or not, another text came through.
Unknown: ÂŤIt's TheoÂť
You froze. No, no way. No way in hell that he is texting you now.
Unknown: ÂŤJust wanted to let you know that this is my new numberÂť
Unknown: ÂŤYou can message and call me anytime you wantÂť
Unknown: ÂŤI'm sorryÂť
You gulped, staring at the last message as your eyesight blurred, tears fighting to break free. Finally, few trailed down your cheeks. Who were you kidding? You weren't over it.
You wanted to believe that he really was sorry but how could you know that he wasn't using you this time?
Soft fur being rubbed against your arm broke you out of your thoughts. "Meow."
Diablerie placed something on your lap. You rubbed your eyes to see what the familiar brought. It was a picture of her and you. It was of your 12th birthday, when your grandmother had brought Diablerie to your family after the raven Sombra had passed. Diablerie had been only 8 months old then but was already wiser than you.
"You?" It took you few moments before it clicked. "You want to meet him?" Diablerie purred happily as a confirmation to your words.
You gulped, e/c eyes returning to the picture in hand.
"Mow."
The feline was staring at your phone screen that was darkening, about to close, texts from Theo open.
"I-Okay, okay, I'll do it."
Hands shaking, you grabbed your phone and quickly tapped on the screen so it wouldn't turn off.
The nessage you were about to send had to be deleted many times because you just couldn't touch the right keys. Heart hammering, you pressed send.
You: ÂŤMeet me tomorrow at 6pm, you know whereÂť
Saving his number, you finally let yourself breath.
Theo: ÂŤOkay! Sounds greatđÂť
~~~
"And where are you going?" your little sister asked suspiciously just as you were about to run out the door.
"Out. Didn't know you were blind. Sis, tell mom to get you glasses," you rushed out. Your sister threw a glare your way. "So you of all people are going out looking all fancy just because? As if."
Smiling innocently, you flipped her off before shutting the door.
Diablerie was napping on the gate but rose her head when you neared. "Okay, let's go."
You didn't even know why you had put on the best clothes you could find and put on makeup. You weren't trying to impress Theo, right? You were just checking if he was trustworthy. I hope he is.
~~~
It was 5:55pm when you stepped into the small clearing in the forest. You could see Theo there, he had flowers in his hands and was dressed in a pretty casual way. Now you felt embarrassed that you had put in so much effort to look nice. You thought about backing out and going away but a certain someone was already trotting towards the man, whip like tail held high.
Theo heard the feather like steps Diablerie took in the grass and his eyes widened. He straightened his back. His last encounter with the cat hadn't been positive and truth be told, he feared the cat.
You could see the nervousness in your ex's face and were now convinced that he was out for no good and planning something again. But then, then you saw the tiger lilies in his hands and your heart warmed up. They were your favorites and he remembered it.
Now a bit more confident, you walked up to him. Still eyeing the cat with one eye, he gazed at you with the other.
"Y/n! Hi, you look great!" He smiled widely. "Here, these are your favorites, right?" he stepped closer to you and stretched out the hand that was gripping the flowers. "Yeah... Thanks," you accepted the tiger lilies, keeping your eyes on Diablerie. The cat did few circles around Theo, padded a bit closer and then sniffed him. "Uhm..." the blue-eyed man was confused and gave you a questioning look. The only response he got was an awkward smile from you. Deep down, you knew that you hoped that Diablerie would approve of him.
As the cat took more and more time to give her approval, you were beginning to think that Theo hadn't changed and was still untrustworthy and evil. But just as you wanted to turn around and run away, Diablerie let out a pleased purr and rubbed her body against Theo's legs. He was confused and surprised while a genuine smile stretched onto your face. The warm feeling of happiness spread throughout your body. He had changed, for real.
"You really have changed," you mumbled and - surprising both yourself and Theo - threw yourself onto him, arms wrapped around his built torso and face buried into his chest, squeezing the life out of him. Slowly, the man wrapped his arms around you and buried his face into your hair. "I have no idea what just happened but I'm not complaining," he laughed.
You grinned.
"Now, Theo, you better tell me what the hell happened while I was tanning in Monaco?" you demanded curiously as you pulled away to look up at him. The blue-eyed man laughed, "Well..."
~~~
"Theo, you are not sleeping in your truck," you told him sternly. "Well I can't go anywhere else, babe," he shrugged. "Surely you have friends here now who you can stay with." Theo tongued his cheek, "But I can't stay with them forever Y/n. I missed school so much that I can't graduate, I can't go to college and literally no one will hire me." You stared at him while chewing on your cheek, "Then... Go back to school?"
"Can't."
"Why?"
"One word, broke."
"Then, we will find a way to get you a job but you will not sleep in your truck for the rest of your life Theo!"
Theo sighed but smiled at you, "Okay." He ran his hand through your hair before it froze on your cheek, he pulled you towards him a bit and kissed your forehead. "But you, you will go to sleep."
You chuckled, "Fine," you giggled, dragging out the i.
As you pulled away, you stared at him with your sparkling e/c eyes for sometime. "Theo, I like your new hair, you better keep it," you said all of a sudden. When you realized that you had said it out loud, you blushed while Theo laughed. "Well I'm glad to hear me not having enough money to get a haircut is up to your liking." He shut up when you kissed his cheeks and ran back towards your house.
He stood there until the door to your house closed behind Diablerie and you. Once again, a sigh left the blue-eyed boy.
He will try to get a job again tomorrow.
He will try to be up to your parents liking because he knew they absolutely despised him right now.
He will try but he can't promise anything.
~~~
It was 8 months later when Theo finally got a job. You had moved to New York to study Archaeology.
You had a job there to support yourself as a delivery driver for Domino's. The two of you kept a long distance relationship since neither of you had enough money to fly Theo over to the Big Apple.
A Spanish restaurant decided to give him a chance and you were both ecstatic when you got the news. "I'm so proud of you, baby," you cheered over Skype. "The people there seemed very nice, though I have to admit, I accidentally bumped into the Chef there already. A fiery Latina, so I better keep up my best behavior." The both of you laughed.
"How are the other doing?" You asked with a warm smile. "Well other than Stiles, I have no idea. You know almost everyone left to chase their dreams. Not that the supernaturals care, pretty sure Scott will return soon. Shit will go crazy soon." Your boyfriend's turned chalk white as he realized that he let it slip.
Worry clouded your face, "Theo... What's going on?"

The Ghost of you
AN: Hi could I request a story where reader is they're little sister she was often forgotten by them shes a year or two younger then Sam for the first 16 years of her life they were always there for her but slowly they forgot she was there she often risked her life for them but they never helped or thanked her eventually she leaves you can go from there - @lexy586. Well here it is and I hope you enjoy reading this. I really enjoyed writing this out and I had fun with this even though it made me cry a little. But still made me a little emotional.
Hope you all enjoy.
***********************************************************************
Word Count: 1,496
You look to your brothers Dean and Sam. They are getting ready for the next case in a different town, you see them doing their research as you sit at the table in the library of the bunker. They arent even phased out or even looked at you to even know you are sitting right across from them. They just sit there and go about their business.
It was never like this before, as you were growing up, Sam left and it was you, dad, and Dean. The four of you going from town to town, you got left in the hotel room while dad and Dean went out hunting. But they always came back for you and always came back with a surprise for you. Always.
The surprises didnt last long though, as you got older you were finally allowed to join the hunts. When dad went missing is when you went nuts in trying to find him. Same with Dean. He went to get Sam from Stanford and he wasnt so thrilled you were hunting but he was happy to see you.
âWasâ you thought as you sat there researching as well and you found a few things and tried to voice your opinions but nothing from Sam or Dean.
âAlright, lets pack up the car and head outâ Dean gets up from his chair and walks toward the garage
You and Sam get up from your seats as well and begin getting ready.
Sam packs his things into his bag and walks out of his room and went to the garage. Dean waits in the car, when he sees Sam is when he starts the car.
You are back in your room thinking they will wait for you. By the time you are done and walk to the garage is when you noticed they are gone.
âSon of a bitchâ you yell in frustration and threw your bag against the pavement
âI cant believe they left without meâ you mutter to yourself as you look to an empty lot, where baby was suppose to be parked.
Then again it doesnt surprise you, nothing should at this point. Its as though you were completely invisible to your brothers. Your very own blood brothers. At this point they even forgot your birthday. Its as though they have forgotten about you for so long.
After dad died or even after Bobby died. Or even after Sam got his soul back or when the Darkness came or after Charlie died.
When Charlie died that ruined you, it was as though she was the only one who ever saw you. Really saw you.
A smile breaks as you think about your dad and Bobby. They never forgot about you, ever. Not like your brothers did.
A lone tear falls as you think about Charlie, she was the best friend you could ever ask for. Sister really. Well best sibling really.
âWhat the hell happened?â you yell as you begin throwing your bags on the bed
You take one good look around the bunker, you look into your brothers rooms. Dean has pictures out of the family but not one of you. Or with you. Same with Samâs room.
âWhy the hell do I even stay? Not like they notice if I just leave and not come backâ you say to yourself as you start packing the rest of your stuff
You finally made the decision in packing up and leaving. Finally.
âWhereâs y/n?â Sam looks to Dean.
They finish up the case and solve the problem like as if it was nothing. Well to them it was nothing cause it was easy. For the most part
âWhat do you mean where is y/n? Sheâs back at the roomâ Dean replies while putting the guns away into the trunk.
âNo she isnt. Dean we have been leaving her out of everything and I dont ever asking if she wants to tag alongâ Sam replies while feeling bad.
Well Sam is feeling more angry with himself for not including you in anything. Heâs beginning to realize he has been doing this a lot. Not once does he ever asked if you would want to tag along or anything.
âWhat the hell are you even talking about? Of course I asked her if she wanted to come?â Dean replies in his defence, he was pretty sure he asked.
So he thought.
âReally? You had a conversation with her and asked if she wanted to come along for our hunting trip?â Sam asks not convince he has asked either.
Dean thinks long and hard about the day before taking on the case. He remembers getting out of bed, hungry and not in the mood for anything. Well until heâs had coffee anyway.
He thinks to the rest of the day and not once does he ever remember talking to you. Or even acknowledging you. Period.
âSon of a bitchâ Dean mutters
He couldnt believe how long its been going on, he is more ashamed with himself than Sam. He knew better not to treat you this way.
âWe need to head back to the bunker and forget the restâ Sam says and begins to pack the car.
Dean pulls out his phone to call you. But no answer
âMy call went straight to voice mailâ Dean says while getting in the drive side and stepping on the gas.
âShe isnt answering any of my textsâ Sam says next while constantly checking his phone
âHow did we take it this far?â he asks while looking to Dean
âHonestly, everythingâ is all Dean says and keeps his focus on the road.
Sam continues to talk about how they continued for so long to ignore you and not even acknowledge you once. Not even for your birthday. Nothing.
Dean let him vent about the things they did cause he had nothing to say about it. He had nothing to defend himself. There was nothing to defend.
âShe better be homeâ Dean says while pulling in front of the bunker
âY/Nâ Sam yells for your name as he comes down the stairs.
âY/n?, weâre backâ Dean yells next in hopes you would be walking out the hall way.
As they look, they hear no foot steps, no door opening or closing. Nothing, they hear nothing.
Dean walks down the hall and is face to face with your bedroom door. He is hoping that you are taking a nap after feeling frustrated with your brothers. Thats his hope
Sam hopes for the same but he has a feeling you are gone.
The both knock on your door and when they heard nothing is when they walked into your room.
They see how empty your room is, Sam checked the dressers and no clothes in them. Dean looked in your night stands and saw all the guns given to you were in there.
âShe left theseâ Dean says as he pulls out the drawer and shows Sam
âShe leave anything else? Cause all her clothes are goneâ Sam says while looking around your room.
All the other things were left behind, the books, the notes and everything else that you did to make your room, yours.
âIm calling her againâ Dean says while pulling out his phone and calling you.
All of a sudden they hear a phone ringing, they look to each other in frustration.
âShe left all her phones tooâ Sam says while pulling out the box from under your bed.
You debated about breaking them and throwing all of them away but you didnt bother. You just left them back at the room in the bunker.
You were hours away from Kansas and not exactly sure where you were going but youre going. Far away from your brothers, where you wouldnt be in their way anymore or just not be ignored anymore.
You left everything behind, including the weapons you were given. Everything.
Dean and Sam searched every where for you. Asked other hunters if they seen you and they got nothing. Even Castiel couldnt find you. Not even the other angels. Well then again the other angels wouldnt know you either, not like Dean or Sam took you any where to meet anyone. You only ever met Castiel once and that was it.
All Dean and Sam were reminded was just the ghost of you, roaming the halls and in the kitchen. They were defeated.
Dean was the best tracker but he couldnt track you, he couldnt.
âSon of a bitchâ Dean yells as he begins to tear his room apart.
Sam is down the hall hearing his big brother tear his room apart from the anger, heart broken and frustration. He winces every time something big hits the wall or floor.
Every restaurant you went to, you ordered the things you liked to eat and not what Dean wanted or what Sam wanted. For once you did things for you.
You were free.

Phone Calls and Blindfolds
HEARING
A/N: Hi... Iâm here. Iâm alive. I havenât been motivated. I just wanted to put something out today. Hope you enjoy some Dean Winchester... hehehe
WARNING: smut, unprotected sex, spanking?, and a blindfold
"Iâm sorry for missing your call. Iâm either busy studying or working. Please leave a short message and Iâll try to get back to you. Thank you.â
Deanâs leg bounced as he sat in his bedroom, calling again and waiting patiently for her to answer the phone. He missed her voice. Hunts were becoming more difficult because every sound made reminded him of the night before. Heâd be lying if he said he wasnât weak to her voice. No answer. âShit.â He sighed, shaking his head.
His eyes glanced over to the blindfold that sat on his bed, shaking his head before taking it and placing it in his bedside dresser. Just as he closed the small dresser, his cellphone rang. He quickly answered, placing the phone to his ear.
There was a silence before she finally spoke. âDean?â She questioned. âWhat did I tell you about calling me constantly?â Her voice was soft but stern.
âIâm s-sorry.â Dean fumbled. âI just thought...â
âYou may be a hunter but remember Iâve knocked you on your ass before.â There was a smile on her voice. âWhat is it that you want to tell me?â
Dean looked over to the dresser, rubbing his face before opening his mouth. âI bought one.â He stated.
   âBought what?â She teased.
âDonât make me say it.â Dean scoffed as she laughed.
âHow am I supposed to know what it is if you donât tell me Dean.â
Dean shivered, blinking for a moment before pulling the fabric from the dresser. âA blindfold.â He mumbled.
âOh?â She smirked, moving around for a moment. âWhoâs it for? Me or you?â Dean became flustered at her question.
   âItâs for either of us.â
Her chuckled send a chill through him. âI think itâs for you Dean.â She spoke, letting out of relaxed sigh. âAs tough as you want to appear... I think you want me to dominate you.â When he didnât speak she continued. âSomething about a strong woman turns you on doesnât it?â There was a audible gulp. âGood to know.â
Dean moved the phone from his ear, shaking his head as he looked down at his hard member. He could hear her singing his name through the phone. âWhen are you getting back?â He asked, laying down in bed. He undid his belt and the button of his jeans.
âSlow down there cowboy.â She purred. âTake your time. And I should be back Saturday.â He slowly unzipped his pants, staring down at the bulge hidden by his boxers. âFinals arenât easy and before you say it... being in the bunker with you makes it hard to concentrate. Especially when you want to touch me.â
âYour skin is so soft.â Dean groaned, palming himself.
âOh Dean.â She whispered. âYou flatter me.â
âIâm serious.â His voice deepened as he watched his own hand moving, wanting it to be replaced with hers.
âDean.â The way she said his name made him melt, his body heating up with need. âAre you touching whatâs mine?â
âI couldnât wait.â Dean spoke quickly. âItâs been a week.â
âItâs not even close to Saturday and youâre already breaking.â She chuckled. âYouâre weaker than I expected you to be cowboy. The big and bad Dean Winchester can take out a Vamp or a werewolf... but canât keep from touching himself whenever heâs on the phone with me. His Mistress.â
Dean groaned in response.
âIf youâre going to start something...â She let out a soft moan, knowing it would send his body into a frenzy. âThen finish it.â
âYes Mistress.â Dean went to reach in his boxers but stopped.
âI can hear the hesitation.â Dean groaned. âYouâre probably laying there with your hand right at the edge of your boxers, wanting so badly to touch it. Am I right?â
âYes.â He closed his eyes, swallowing hard as the dull pain from being extremely hard started to set in.
âYou know what you need to do then.â
Dean huffed and opened his eyes again, imagining her sitting at the edge of the bed, her eyes watching him closely. That enticing smirk on her soft lips as she spoke to him, instructing him on what he needed to do. A simple procedure that would allow him access to his own pleasure. âIt hurts Mistress.â He started. âIâm sorry for starting without asking but please let me continue and I promise Iâll ask first.â He stiffened the more he spoke. âPlease Mistress I need to cum tonight. Iâve missed you so much that everything reminds me of you. Itâs so fucking difficult concentrating on a case when youâre not here to put me in check.â Dean watched a small damp spot appeared on his boxers, surprising himself as precum continued to leak. âShit.â He whispered.
âHow far did you get?â She questioned. âIs it out?â
âNo. Iâve still got my boxers on.â
âWhat are you waiting for?â She questioned.
He pushed his boxers down, pulling his bottom lip between his teeth. His stiff member stood at attention, waiting for further instructions. âDo I start?â He panted.
âWait for a second.â She whispered, rummaging around on the other end of the call. Dean waited in anticipation and excitement, he knew she was grabbing her vibrator, smirking when he heard the silent vibration before it disappeared. âStart slow and donât pick up speed until I tell you to.â
âYes maâam.â Dean wrapped his large hand around his cock, slowly stroking it as he let out a groan.
âFuck.â She gasped in his ear.
   âS-so good.â
Dean tried his hardest to keep a steady pace but he wanted to go faster, the need to release growing every time his finger passed over the head of his cock. âDean.â She moaned out. His grip tightened slightly, pumping faster. His eyes closed, mouth falling open as he thrust his hips. She could hear him getting closer, a primal-like growl erupting from his throat. âNot yet.â She says quickly.
Dean stopped, shaking his head. âJust let me cum woman.â He said through gritted teeth.
âWhat?â She questioned. âWanna try that one again Dean?â
âDonât do this to me.â Dean groaned. âIâve been waiting all day and I need to cum before Iâll lose my mind.â
âCute but Iâm the one in control Dean. Remember?â
He groaned.
âGood boy.â She moaned out. âNow... Iâll talk to you later Dean.â
   âWhat?â Dean sat up, shocked.
âDean you called me while I was in the middle of something.â She said quickly. âIf you really want to finish go ahead.â She hung up, leaving him high and dry.
   âSon of a bitch!â
Sam looked up from his book, watching Dean storming through the library. He was in the process of putting his jacket on, keys in hand. âIâll be back in a week.â He said. The younger Winchester chuckled and went back to his reading.
Dean sped down the highway like a bat out of Hell, avoiding accidents, and slowing down when there was a cop around. He was determined to make the four hour trip in less than half that. When he arrived, the clock read 1 in the morning. She wasnât going to expect and he didnât care if she was going to give him an ear full for it.
He knocked on the door, pacing back and forth on the porch before banging on it. âY/n!â He yelled. âOpen the door before I kick it down!â
âKick it down and Iâll fucking kill you Dean Winchester!â He could hear her yell back.
She yanked her front door open, looking up at the extremely frustrated and tired looking Winchester. Sighing, she let him in, closing the door. Before she could question him, Deans lips were pressed against hers. She accepted his lips, wrapping her arms around his neck, only to have them removed and placed behind her back. âWe made a deal. No part of it mentioned you leaving me high and dry.â
âBut it was fun.â She teased. âI had a feeling youâd drive all the way here. But you got here faster than I expected to Iâm not ready.â
âDonât worry about that. Iâll do it for you.â He pulled her up the stairs, kicking her bedroom door open.
âYouâre pushing it Dean.â She warned, but he didnât care, pushing her to sit on the edge of her bed. He dug in his back pocket and pulled out the blindfold. âIs that for you or me?â
âYou tell me.â His voice, low and seductive.
âThen what are you waiting for Cowboy? Put it on me.â She bit her bottom lip, knowing what would set him off.
Dean put the blindfold over her eyes, tying it tight so it wouldnât come loose. He pulled a pair of handcuffs from his other pocket and grabbed her wrists. He handcuffed her to one of the bars of her platform framed bed, putting her in a position that allowed him access. âComfortable?â He pulled down her pajama bottoms, giving one of her cheeks a hard smack. She yelped, body jerking from the pain.
She grew needy when he disappeared from behind her, leaving her handcuffed to her own bed in a compromising position. âDean?â She questioned.
âRight here baby cakes.â He whispered in her ear, sending a visible shiver through her. âOpen.â She opened her mouth, gagging when he shoved his fingers down her throat. âGet them nice and wet for me.â She sucked and licked on his fingers, swirling her tongue around and between his middle and ring finger. âGood girl.â He disappeared again, moving in silence. She could only hear silence, until his fingers inserted themselves inside of her tight cunt.
She mewled, body writhing with need as he fingered her relentlessly. âDean.â She cried out, circling her hips.
He stopped, smacking the same cheek to stop her. âDonât move.â He continued his movement., pumping his fingers in and out. âIâm not making anymore deals with you.â He leaned over so that his lips were to her ear. âI said you can dom only if I get to cum. Yet you go back on that part.â
âDean.â She trembled as his finger tips brushed against her sweet spot.
âWhat do you say?â He questioned.
âIâm sorry Sir.â She whimpered, gasping when he pulled his fingers out and rubbed them against her clit. âPlease!â She cried out.
âBegging to cum?â He asked, chuckling. âWhy should I let you cum after what you did.â
âI wonât do it again! I promise!â She felt herself dancing on the edge.
When he pushed his fingers in deeper, she climaxed. âSee how easy that was?â Dean pulled his fingers out, licking her release off of his fingers. âAs sweet as ever.â
âCan you take the blindfold off?â She questioned.
âNo.â He said, far from her now. âIâm not done with you yet.â
She heard a small click and the soft hum of her vibrator. âOpen.â He said, in front of her. âYou know what to do.â She opened her mouth, sucking on the small device. Dean pulled it out of her mouth and moved around her, smirking to himself as he probed her ass with it. She gasped, balding her hands into fists. âRelax.â He ran the back of his hand down her back. He pushed the vibrator in, watching as she whimpered and arched. âJust like that.â She trembled, climaxing again. âFelt that good?â He questioned.
She groaned in response, body still recovering from her release. âNo more.â She receiving silence as a response. âDean? Please?â
âIâm right here darling.â He rubbed his thumb along her slit, humming at the wetness that collected on his thumb. âYou get this wet for me.â He moved so that he was behind her again, rubbing the head of his cock against her slick folds.
Dean relentlessly pounded into her, holding her hips as he pulled her back against him with every thrust. She called his name, back arching. She bit her bottom lip, hands gripping her mattress, trying to ground herself. She felt her climax building again, letting out a cry of pleasure. âFuck!â
âNot yet.â He pulled out, slapping her ass. âYouâre a mess arenât you. This must be torture for you huh?â She whimpered, shaking her head in response. âNo? Want me to keep going?â She nodded quickly. âItâs not punishment if you like it.â He slammed back into her. Thrusting quickly to build her up again only to take it away from her.
She was losing her grip, eyes watering as she bit hard on her bottom lip. Her moans were growing weaker due to her losing her voice. âPlease Sir! I need to cum!â She hollered. âI canât hold it in anymore!â
Dean kept up the pace, moving one of his hands so that he could rub his middle fingers against her clit. She shivered, mouth falling open but no sound coming out. She tightened around him, releasing a groan as he spilled inside of her. She relaxed, her body going limp. Dean kissed her shoulder blade and climbed off the bed, walking around and uncuffing her wrists. He kissed them and rubbed his thumb across the bruises that were beginning to form.
âAre you okay?â His voice was soft when he spoke.
   âYeah.â She nodded. âIâm okay.â
Dean pulled the blindfold off and looked into her eyes, smirking at the euphoric look in her eyes. âAgain?â He quesitoned.
   âAgain.â She nodded.

Hanahaki Disease: Naegiri
There were some pretty crazy situations where falling in love happened. While, yes, it happened in restaurants everyday or in libraries or even an English class that no one was awake enough to really participate in, there were some wilder places that have an amazing amount of potential for falling in love with someone.
For instance, a killing game.
Yes, the killing game that fifteen students had been gathered for originally, excluding one other person that would only be revealed to them later, ended up being a surprising candidate for lovers to be born in. There were some people more susceptible to romance, which was why Kyouko Kirigiri did her best to avoid talking to people as much as possible. The problem was, with the rule of proximity factoring into how easy infatuation could strike, love became a harder obstacle to avoid.
She found herself constantly being brought face to face with a certain boy who didnât seem to have much going for him. For someone with the title of Super Duper High School Luckster, his luck seemed to be nonexistent at times. However, he always kept a positive attitude and put his trust in the people around him. The way he smiled and listened to everyone so thoroughly drifted itself into her head when she went off investigating on her own.
âFriends tell each other what theyâre thinking, you know?â He asked her one day during one of the assorted times he decided to hang out with her. She was taken aback by the sudden question, remembering how willing Naegi was to tell her everything. There would be only one time where he uncharacteristically hid the truth from her, but with good intentions as not to hurt someone elseâs reputation. She put her hand to her chin as she thought about the question in silence for a little bit, a patient Makoto Naegi waiting for her to respond.
âWith this statement, youâre implying weâre⌠friends, right?â Kirigiri finally said with a small smile, turning her head to face him. His eyes connected with hers and he gave a bright smile as he nodded.
âOf course I am! Why wouldnât we be? After all, with the things weâve been through and how much youâve been explaining things to us, itâs only natural to assume weâre friends.â
Kyouko felt something rising through her. A burning sensation took over, and she tried to swallow it away. She smiled, turning her back to Naegi. âFriends⌠I suppose thatâs one way to look at us.â She walked away quickly, starting to dash when she figured she was out of sight of the boy. She rushed to her room and slammed the door, coughing violently. She had never felt such a horrid feeling rising through her throat. Vomit was one thing, but this felt entirely different. Finally, she felt something come out and onto her gloves. She looked down, only to regret ever checking it out.
A few dark petals emerged from her throat, an extremely dark purple color attached to them. Ignoring the blood, the fragrance reminded her of spices almost, and they had variegated coloring with a lighter color adorning the stripes. She examined them closer, finally coming to the conclusion that they were dianthus petals. she picked up her room key and went to the library silently, reading up on the flower itself.
What she found was that a dianthus is a kind of carnation, with a meaning roughly translating to âflower of the gods.â Dark colored carnations like this one carried the symbolism of deep love an affection. However, a variegated carnation like the one that was falling from her mouth symbolized a regret for a love that would be ultimately unable to be shared. She crushed the petals the had held onto in her hands, silently cursing herself for this foolishness. She knew falling in love was a horrible idea. she knew that getting close to anyone could trigger her downfall. She had spent far too long trying to push people away, but it had become a moot point.
She tried to conduct her business alone afterward, but it seemed inevitable that Naegi would come along and help her. The times that their hands accidentally touched made her flush, breaking whatever semblance of indifference that she had. He would smile and tell her how cute she was when she did so, and she would do her best to get rid of the blush so there wouldnât be any indications.
It had been custom for people of the Kirigiri family to stay neutral to all things, swaying towards neither opinion presented. They were there to simply find truth and express the truth, yet⌠here Kirigiri was, failing to uphold that normal and understandable standard that her grandfather had taught her. She was falling for someone, and she was expressing her true feelings for him. She frowned at herself as she remembered this, cursing herself silently for being so susceptible to love.
â
Time passed, and Kirigiri had started coughing up more petals far more often. It became harder and harder to hide it, and eventually, someone found her coughing her lungs out in a bathroom. When they saw the petals falling, their heart stopped for a moment until Kirigiri silently wiped her mouth.
âI donât suppose you plan on telling anyone, do you, Fukawa?â Kirigiri asked in a quiet, almost restrained manner. Fukawa wondered how she knew it was Fukawa, and was going to ask, but kept her mouth shut. Kirigiri turned to her, bearing an unreadable expression that contrasted the bit of blood that was now stuck to her face. She hadnât caught all the petals in her hand, leaving a few of them on the ground. Fukawa thought rapidly before playing with a braid and feigning indifference.
âA-as long as it isnât for my⌠my white knight, i-it means nothing to me!â She said, trying not to shout too loud as to give her away. She had also spent some of her nights coughing out purple irises herself, knowing well her own white knight wouldnât love her back. Kirigiri chuckled a little as she walked past Fukawa, stopping for only a moment.
âI can only hope you wonât fall as far as I have only to realize your love is impossible. I hope Togami is easy on your soul, regardless of what youâve done in the past.â Kirigiri walked out of the bathroom, leaving Fukawa to think about what idiot Kirigiri had possibly fallen for. It didnât take long for her to figure it out. Makoto Naegi was the only person that Kirigiri seemed to constantly stand being around with, and Fukawa had often witnessed the way Kirigiri looked at him. She could equate them to a classic couple one would find in a romance novel, and began to gain the resolve to get Naegi to realize Kirigiri loved him. Maybe her white knight would even praise her for taking such actions.
She picked up a couple of the petals in her hand, rushing out of the bathroom and looking around quickly. Where would someone so boring and plain hang out in the middle of the day? She dashed to the cafeteria to see the Ahoge bouncing a little as he talked to Asahina. She took him by his hood and dragged him off, ignoring the protests from both him and the angry swimmer. She could deal with Asahina later.
âDid I⌠do something?â Naegi asked, looking at Fukawa with an apologetic smile. Wordlessly, she wrenched open his hand and let the flower petals fall into his hand, and she closed it, looking away.
âY-youâŚsheâs been s-suffering, w-waiting for you. Donât let that g-go to waste, idiot!â She hissed before walking away. She didnât expose who âsheâ was, expecting Naegi to come up with that on his own. She didnât need to be a part of this love story anymore, and was more than content to just watch things fall into place.
Naegi stood there, looking at the now bruised petals. It took him a moment to realize that by suffering, Fukawa meant that someone had caught Hanahaki for him. While that thought was amazing on its own, he had a sinking feeling he knew who it was. He heard vigorous coughing coming from upstairs, and he dashed as fast as he could. The coughing got louder as he reached the library. He swung the door wide open only to see something that hurt him.
Kirigiri was clutching her chest as she coughed violently, looking as though she was becoming less and less able to even stand on her own. She was leaned up against the wall and slowly slid down, doing her best to cover who it was who was making such a ruckus. Naegi ran to her, crouching down to be eye level with her.
âKir-no, Kyouko!â He said as he shook her shoulders to get her to look at him. She looked up, her eyes tired before she realized she was looking at who was causing this. She tried to protest, but just continued coughing. Naegi didnât know what to do but talk to her.
âI⌠I didnât know that I would mean this much to you.â He started once Kirigiri had a break in her coughing fit. She looked at him with confusion.
âI wish I hadnât made you suffer, you know? I⌠there were times where I wondered, âwhat would it be like to hold her hand?â or, âdoes she ever think about me randomly, and miss me at all?ââ He continued, stopping while Kirigiri coughed. Her eyes were squeezed shut as she did, and Naegi pounced at that moment to say what he felt.
âI really⌠I really love you, Kyouko.â He said quietly. Kirigiri froze, her coughing suddenly ceasing.
âSay it again.â She demanded, making Naegi confused.
âI-I really love you, Kyouko!â He almost yelled. Suddenly, the coughing became more violent until eventually, an entire flower fell from her mouth, seeming to have wilted. She looked up with a little triumphant smile.
âIf you had taken any longer to tell me, I probably wouldâve been dead in this library.â Kirigiri informed him, making Makoto look extremely worried.
âW-wait, what?!? I-I-IâWHY DIDNâT YOU SAY ANYTHING?â He questioned.Kirigiri wouldâve normally tried to act annoyed with it, but she just smiled and threw her head back, laughing. Makoto stopped as he watched her laugh so heartily, wondering how often she had laughed like that before.
Oh god, he was in love.

One Beep || JJK
âI think itâs unfair that we canât do anything about what our heart want.â
⢠Pairing: Jungkook x Reader ⢠Genre: Angst; Fluff; Romance ⢠Warning(s): Hints of divorce, slight flashbacks to dark past moments, denialism at certain points ⢠Word Count: 2.04K ⢠Posted: April 10, 2020 ⢠A/n: Hey, so I made a fic based off of a show Iâve watched recently called âLove Alarmâ. It has since became one of my favorite k-dramas! Iâm extremely happy that this idea suddenly came to me. (I deadass donât think Iâve ever been this hyped to write a fic) I hope you guys enjoy and also there might grammar mistakes which I sincerely apologize for!
Everything that happened was an accident actually.
Maybe everything wouldâve been fine if you only went to class at least a good two minutes later. All of it couldâve been avoided if you werenât trying to go run an errand for a friend. But then again, who knows?
It was a Monday morning at exactly 7:50 am when you got a text from one of your closest childhood friends, Chaeyoung.
[7:50 am] Chaeđ: bubs,, where r u??
[7:50 am] You: studying in the library
[7:52 am] You: why?
[8:01 am] Chaeđ: do you think you could drop off my paper to ms.eve? i left it in your bag
[8:01 am] You: rn?
[8:03 am] Chaeđ: I mean,,, I would appreciate if you did
[8:03 am] Chaeđ: <3
You sighed and rolled your eyes. Classic Chae move, you thought to yourself. You closed the book you had checked out beforehand as you neatly placed it in your bag before you looked for her paper.
Finally, finding the paper slightly wrinkled, you made your way to the exit. You decided to take the shorter way than the usual way since you wanted to quickly get back to studying again before heading towards your next class.
While walking, you were busying yourself with your phone. Looking at a few unread messages and scrolling on twitter before you heard a group of people discussing a new app. ďżź
It wasnât your intention to eavesdrop but something one of them mentioned was an app that could tell if someone had a crush on anyone in a 10-meter radius.
âUnbelievable,â you scoffed quietly.
You continued walking past them as you decided to search up about it when you were recommended an app, LoveBeep. You chuckled at it. Do people really believe this? From the app details itâs popular at the moment. Are people just that gullible.
You were so engrossed by the app that you didnât even see the tall figure in front of you. âSorry! I-â Your sentence stops in the tip of your tongue when you realize who it is. He reaches a hand out for you without even throwing a second glance at you.
It was Jeon Jungkook. You two were never once friends but you shared a few good past memories together as your mom used to babysit him every once in awhile growing up. Now he probably wants nothing to do with you.
You felt your heart race in anxiousness. You quickly grabbed his hand and pulled yourself up before dusting yourself off and heading towards the main reason you were on the floor anyways.
You suddenly stopped though. You turned on your heels before gently tapping him on the shoulders. He looked at you with an annoyed look shadowing over his face.
âIâm sorry.â you sputtered.
All you heard was an annoyed sigh before he faced all the way towards you. He glared down at you. You felt as if you were shrinking, both mentally and physically. You watch him softly chuckling before he turned his gaze back to you.
âI donât want your dirty ass apology, Y/n. Your mom has already enough,â He spits. âWhy are you apologizing for what your mom did? Did you have any part in it? You pity me donât you.â
You took a few steps back unconsciously before he grabbed your arm and pulled you close. He placed his mouth over your ear. âThe fact that you constantly try to fix your momâs dirty deeds is annoying. She should be able to feel the pain that sheâs given others.â
Your eyes water at that for yet, he wasnât wrong. She did bad things, but that didnât make her a bad person. You pushed the boy off of you with resentment in your gaze.
It was silent for a moment before your voice broke it. âYou know nothing. Nothing at all. You think you got it all figured out donât you,â you hissed. âDonât you!â you raved.
You felt the burning tears sliding down your cheeks. âIâve tried so hard to be generous to you. Do you think I wanted things to be like this? Do you think youâre the only going through things?â you declared. âGo to hell, Jeon!â you shouted before storming off.
Finally, dropping the papers off, you continued on with the rest of your day. Doing your very best to avoid the brown-haired boy at all costs.
It was a late night, you were bundled under your covers. You looked across the room to see a Chaeyoung peacefully asleep in her own bed. You sighed as you rolled into another position so you could finally go to sleep but it seemed nearly impossible no matter how hard you tried.
You looked over at your phone and you remembered that ridiculous app from earlier. You grabbed it from the nightstand before typing the name into the app store before downloading
Once it was finished downloading, you inspect med the app. The first thing to pop up was a loading screen that displayed tips about the app. Once it finished loading you were introduced to a welcome sign before it faded out into 3 rings with a zero in the middle of them.
It seemed fake. Like an app, a seven-year-old girl would download to try to find her imaginary prince charming. Nevertheless, it still intrigued you. You stayed up the rest of the night trying to find out more about before you crashed around 4 am.
A few months later, it finally starting to begin spring. The incident with Jeon is far in the back of year head as you sit on the bench and enjoy the warm air and the few blows of cool air surrounding you as you took a considerable bite out of your apple, listening to Chaeyoung as she rants about her latest âlife problemsâ.
You feel content for the first time in a while. You feel in your gut it wonât last for long though. You inhale a deep breath to just take the moment in. You let your eyes flutter closed for a second, reassuring Chaeyoung that youâre still listening to her.
Suddenly you hear your phone beep. You look at the notification to see from LoveBeep, saying exactly, âSomeone in a 10-meter radius loves youâ. You were just about to put your phone back since it wasnât like it was the first time it had beeped before but you had felt a certain urge to look up.
You looked up to see Jungkook walking past you with a friend. You were just about to ignore the occurrence when you realize, he was, in fact, within a 10-meter radius when your phone buzzed. You felt your cheeks tingling at that.
No, it wasnât him. It canât be him. You convinced yourself. Youâre in a school, there are tons of other students within a 10-meter radius of you. He was also walking with a friend meaning it couldâve been him.
The incident couldâve been easily ignored if for the past few passing you had with him within the last month didnât result in your phone beeping. Every. Single. Time.
You kept trying to ascertain that it was another reason for this but what really got you was when you were in art class early, drawing a few sketches to waste time. You had felt your phone vibrate as you got other notification from LoveBeep. You had heard the door open before you turned your attention over to where the sound was made.
It had fully hit you. Jungkook is the one beeping you.
You were currently waiting by the exit of the school since Chae was taking way more longer than expected oddly since it was normally you that was always late.
The majority of the students had already left school, only a few people walking around which you assumed was for the after school clubs. You decided on going into the school to go find her when you saw the boy down the hall.
âJungkook, we need to talk,â you said as you walked up to him. You felt your phone vibrate again in your pocket before you let out a sigh.
âWhat?â he asked nonchalantly. He looked up at you like you were, in fact, wasting his time.
You tilted your head at him slightly look at him straight in his eyes. You just wanted to get it over with.
How can he act so damn rude yet still have feeling for you? Seems kinda fucked up.
âListen, I donât wanna be here just as much as you,â you smirked at him. âI know you like me, Jeon.â All you heard in reply was bluff of air coming through his sealed lips.
He rebuked, âWhat in the actual fuck are you talking about? You genuinely think I out of all fucking people would like you?â
Annoyed, you pulled out your phone and went directly Into the app.
âThen what is this?â
âAn app.â
âWhat app jackass.â
âLoveBeep obviously.â
âOkay, and what does it say.â
âIâm not reading that you can do it yourself.â
You groaned in annoyance. âAre you just that fucking difficult?â You shot the phone right in his face. âYou like me.â You disputed
âYouâre gonna believe an app?â he yapped through tight lips. An obvious thick tension in the air had you fidgeting with your school skirt. The reality of it hit you.
This dickhead, the one who is steadily hateful towards you. The one who you once were close with. Yet, he is someone who had a full reason to hate. Not hurting any less though.
You hated him. But you loved him. Not in the cheesy âIâm in love with my enemyâ type of way. But the âYou and me against the worldâ type of way. A platonic love that was now one-sided from something which you strictly blame on yourself no matter how many times you tell yourself otherwise.
Your mood suddenly turning more sour at the realization, you mutter out a barely audible âWhy?â before keeping your gaze with his eyes.
âYou are so sick and twisted. I know she fucked up everything but you just let it out on me and then when I feel like I did it you have then you yell at me about why am I trying to fix shit that I didnât do. Itâs because of you!â you exploded.
Not stopping there, you step to up still maintaining the connected glare as you continue on. âThen you have the fucking audacity to like me? What the fuck is wrong with you.â You wept, your emotions finally overpowering you. You were so filled with anger but it was useless because there was nothing you could do about it. âItâs so unfair you can live your life like this while Iâm just here.â you ended.
âLive my life like this? My parents arenât even in the same fucking country because of her and you think your life is tough because I developed unwanted feelings for you?â He argued.
Anger flurrying through you, your arm flung at him involuntarily, slapping him in the process. âYou donât know everything!â you screeched tear stains down your cheeks before storming off.
As you were walking off, you heard him yell out to you causing you to stop. âI think itâs unfair that we canât do anything about what our heart wants,â You heard him let out an emotionless chuckle. âIf we could do you think I would like someone as low as you?â he deadpanned before listening to his footsteps walk off.
âFuck you, Jungkook.â you gritted out before continuing on. Deciding on going home, you decided to text Chaeyoung ahead of time.
[4:51 pm] You: im gonna walk home early
[4:51 pm] Chaeđ: ? did something happen :(
[4:55 pm] Chaeđ: y/n???
[4:56 pm] You: can we talk about it later please
[4;56 pm] Chaeđ: ofc bubs
[4;57 pm] Chaeđ: do you want me to order your favorite takeout when i get home?
[4:57 pm] You: yes pls
And that was the last time you had any interaction with Jungkook.
a/n:Â I hope you enjoy this series!

dreaming of love in everlasting friendship [ âż ] hanahaki!reader x leviathan
Warning: angst, blood, hanahaki
â dreaming of love in everlasting friendship â
[ leviathan x hanahaki!reader ]
[ âż ]
You thought it was fictional.
You thought that thereâs no way a disease thatâs only existed in media and nothing else could exist. But then again, youâre living with a group of the strongest demons. So who were you to say what was in the realm of fiction and what isnât?
But even if it was, you wish it didnât exist.
It started when you left Leviathanâs room after a gaming session. You vividly remember his grin, and what he said with it, âThanks again for helping me get that SSR card! Youâre a true best friend!â
And thatâs when the petals flourished.
Such small little things got you leaning on the wall in the hallway for support. Initial shock got to you. It wasnât every day that you coughed up bloody petals after all. A thought came across you, but you couldnât believe it. . .right?
But perhaps you needed more evidence to back that up.
A visit to Satanâs room and vaguely explaining if you could borrow a, âbook about Devildom and human diseasesâ. With only a few questions that you shrugged off, you returned to your room with two armfuls of books.
And now here you are, sprawled across your bed with books messily scattered around. At least the scent was nice. But finally, and unfortunately, you found what you were looking for.
âHanahaki,â the passage reads, âis a disease manifesting in the respiration system, where it takes form of a flower sprouting inside the organ. Hanahaki is not a contractible disease, and the infected can only get it if they are in the receiving end of unrequited love.â
Your eyebrows pulled to a frown. A frown that would go deeper and deeper as you read on.
âThe only way to a cure of this disease is either getting the other party to return said love, or get a surgery done to remove the flower.â The book explains, âThe latter is paired with the consequence of forgetting everything about the other party from the moment the infected fell in love, and onwards. These includes every memory they have of the other party, from direct encounters to mentions of their names and everything in between.â
The moment you fell for Leviathan. . .when was that? It felt impossible to pinpoint exactly when. In fact, you felt it was more of a long term process than just âboom! in loveâ.
So how much would you forget about him then? That thought itself scares you.
âIf Hanahaki is not cured, then the infected would die.â As if on cue, a series of coughs racked up your throat, with a gentle flurry of bloody petals falling in your hands. Tears stared to blur your eyes, tears you only wiped and continued reading. âLife expectancy of someone with Hanahaki is approximately two years. However, when the infected comes in contact with the significant other for more than 6+ hours a day constantly, the time would be cut short to one and a half years.â
Your hands were shaking. You didnât notice that before, but it was something you expected. The blood on your hands seem to taunt you. One and a half year of life expectancy, huh?
At least youâd be gone out of their lives by then.
Just a little bit more, you pushed yourself to read. âThere is no deadline, so to say, of when the infected can get cured. As long as they are not dead, at any point in Hanahaki they can take the measures mentioned previously to remove it.â
Youâll stop there. Taking several deep breaths. You closed the books and put them in the mess of other ones around you. Hopefully Satan doesnât mind you borrowing these for a longer time.
With a heaved sigh, your body fell onto the bed. Despite your mind muddled as it is, with your drooping eyes, you fell into slumber.

Itâs now a week before your depart from Devildom.
You havenât really visited him much, Leviathan noticed. Actually, it felt like you were. . .avoiding him? No, it canât be, right? You were his true best friend! But then again, heâs a yucky otaku, so of course thereâs a reason you might avoid him. . .
Each breakfast and dinner, youâd hurry up and finish your food to scurry off to class. Each time you saw Leviathan down in a hallway, you pretended to not see him and go the other way. Each invite out for lunch, if Levi was involved, youâd turn it down instantly.
Where did he go wrong in the friendship?
That question plagued his mind for a long time now. And he decided he wants answers. At least to get you some closure of sorts before you leave for the end of the program. . .
âHey!! Thereâs an event going on in Mononoke Land, and itâs a co-op one. You gotta help me with it.â
The text stood in the message box silently. His finger hovered over the send button but. . .hesitancy found itself within him. He huffed, and pressed the button with a small âding!â coming out of it.
Youâve read it. Levi knows because of the symbol next to his text. With a few seconds pause, the dots finally appear on your side.
âOkay! Iâll come to your room in a bit.â
A smile surfaced itself on the demonâs face. Thankfully someone else in this house has Mononoke Landâalbeit it took some nagging on Leviathanâs part for you to download it. But still! It felt nice to have another person to share your passions with. Levi was unapologetically himself no matter what, but for someone to get it? It felt nice.
Soon, a knock sounded from the door. âCome in!â Leviathan exclaimed, followed by the click of it opening.
âSo,â You started, pulling your D.D.D out of your pocket, âWhatâs the event about? I havenât seen any co-op needed ones from Mononoke Land of all games.â
The demon noticed you opening the game to check it out. He grinned, âThe devs are trying new things. This one has it that thereâs two rare monsters that you gotta catch and trade with someone for their evolution. Both forms are saved in your MonoDex and you get your reward!â
He sees your eyebrows raising in a bit of curiosity as you checked out the event in the game. What he didnât see was that your eyes were clouded with focusing on anything that involved him.
âYeah I couldâve just asked someone on an online forum to trade with me, butââ You hope he didnât notice your breath hitching,ââitâd be more fun to spend it with you.â
Your clutch on your D.D.D. grew tighter. You hope he didnât notice that too. âThanks,â was all you could breath out for a moment, âSo Iâm guessing weâll be searching around Devildom?â
âWell, someone mentioned that theyâd spawn from The Fall to The Mausoleum.â
âCool.â You offered him a smile. You feel a choked feeling grow, but you ignored it. âShould we get going?â
âYeah! I gotta be at the top rank!â
ă âż Â â Â Â âż ă
Devildom had an atmosphere way different from the human world; that much wasnât hard to see.
Not only had the gray sky been a huge change of aura, but the streets alone gave a sort of mystical feeling. Like youâd see in a movie. But then again, you couldnât say you expected anything less, nor more.
But everything seemed brighter with Leviathan around, youâve noticed.
While you spent most of your time in his room, in R.A.D., in the dining roomâthe roads youâve grown familiar walking on lit up in a way youâve never seen before.
Too bad he didnât feel the same effect.
âHey!â Leviathan himself called out, dragging you from your thoughts, âThatâs the other one over there! In the Royal Library!â
At this point, youâve already caught one of the monsters for the event. Itâd resembled a flower, and judging by the nameâwhich was so wisely named âFlowermoonââit was a Moonflower. Now you had to catch up as the demon ran into the building.
It was rather rude to barge into a library while running loudly, you thought. But oh, what joy it brought you to see that smile on his face.
Thankfully, Levi hadnât caused as much as a commotion when you caught it (it resembled another plant, named Arborvitae, but it didnât matter) . It didnât take him even a millisecond to ask to trade right away, to which you obliged. Now the event was done, with you and him placing at the Top 2 to finish it.
Shaking himself off of his euphoria, he looks at you with a smile, âThanks for coming with a yucky otaku like me on something like this,â you wanted to refute it, but flowers almost came up instead, âI really had fun. Even if it mean being around a bunch of normies and going outside.â
Your heart clenched.
âItâs no proââ That sentence couldnât be finished as you finally broke. He just had to be so. . .him. Unbelievably dorky. As a result, you doubled down coughing to the nearest wall. The world was spinning, the blood was clear on your tongue.
But. . . he canât know.
Before the petals had a chance to slip out of your mouth, you kept it all in with the help of your hand. Fortunately, none came out. Unfortunately, the blood was clear on your hand.
Leviathan called your name in shock. You snap your head at him. âThatâs. . . Thatâs blood, isnât it. . ? Are you okay?!â
The flower tastes bad in your mouth, and yet you forced yourself to speak, âY-Yep, am just fine.â
He looks at you inridiculously. Not that you can see him as your head hung once again to fight a wave of coughs. âN-No you arenât, Iâll bring us back to the Houseâ!â
You forgot what happened next. Everything just went dark.
ă âż Â â Â Â âż ă
The memory after that was a bit distinct. You managed to convince the others that you were fine (how you did it, youâve forgotten. You just knew it involved some yelling). And finally, the day to return had arrived. The day to return back to the human world.
Simeon and Luke had gone ahead, leaving you and Solomon. You secretly hoped the two of you could somehow have a meet-up in the human world, but you still had his contact in your D.D.D., so that was a matter youâd settle later. With a wave, a smile, and one final goodbye, Solomon stepped through the portal.
Now. . .
You turned around to face all the demon brothers. All youâve grown to love. Each of them gave their own special goodbye message to you, with words that youâll hold close to your heart; youâre sure of it.
Then came. . . Levi.
Your lungs tightened up. Just a bit more, you urged, until this is over. The feeling hit a great boost as his arms wrapped around yours in a hug.
His words were static now. You wished you could hear it, just one last time. No matter how you tried, you couldnât. . . you couldnât discern whatever he was saying. You just nodded and hoped no one saw tears almost spilling from your eyes.
He pulled away. You did too. The world was spinning, you noticed, but you had to pretend it didnât. With a last wave, you stepped through the portal yourself.
As the glowing door from two worlds closed, the first thing you do was collapse on the floor coughing. Flowers and petals were the last thing you saw that day.
ă âż Â â Â Â âż ă
The summer break passed by like a breeze.
The flowers never stopped, just less intense than before. Made sense, you no longer hung around Leviathan as muchâor at all, really. Each message he sent youâother than in the groupchatsâyou just tried to ignore. It probably hurt for both of you, but. . .
Either way, the letter still came like last time. The invite letter for joining yet another exchange program, this time, for a new year of school. You smiled faintly, threading every word in your mind. Itâs a little different from the last one, youâve noticed.
However. . .
You crumpled up the paper and threw it in the trash can. The action left a bitter taste in your mouth, but itâs a choice youâve arrived to for quite some time.
You wouldnât be back for another year. And the year after that. And the next.
âż
For the sake of both of us,
You thought, hacking up another round of petals and flowers,
Iâll be gone out of your life.
