I'm finally caught up with one piece anime! went through my liveblogging tag and the first post when I started watching one piece again was on june 3rd, around the episode where sanji was kidnapped by bege to bring him to the whole cake island for a wedding — episode 755. (that was the point where I left off op for another hyperfixation years ago).
313 episodes. I fucking watched 313 episodes in 1.5 months. I don't want to hear people say one piece is too long and too unrealistic to catch up ever again

OP Men as Dads Part 2
Note: I chose to do another five OP men for this one!! My brain won't shut off about these men being dads, I'm losing it omg. I hope these are good, I kind of struggled a little but just wrote whatever came to mind. Maybe I can do a part three at some point with more of them! I have a small idea for Mihawk and Franky, but that's it so far. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy! Sticking baby Ace for the image because I got nothing else lol.
Part One Here!
Tumblr media
Kid is a boy dad, I’m sorry he just is. I can’t see him with a daughter really, unless she’s the youngest and was a surprise. But anyway! He’d have three boys that were all three years apart, and all are exactly like him. You really do love your sons and husband, but how you wish at least one of your boys was calm. The four of them are always roughhousing to the point you’ve had to set rules to keep from Kid accidentally hurting them, or your children from breaking things when he isn’t involved. When you have a set of twins a few years after your third son, another two boys, you’re done and just accepting your fate as a boy mom. You and Kid love all your boys though, neither of you would change anything, especially when your youngest ends up being a momma’s boy who’s finally calm and would rather spend his time with you than anyone else. Kid isn’t jealous, he swears.
~~
Usopp I can see with two girls! A few years between them, and they’re both the light of his life aside from you of course! Every story he tells them before bed makes them both so excited to grow up and become Pirates themselves, brave women of the sea! The oldest will want to help Usopp and Franky with inventions and fixing up the ship, while the youngest wants to be a sniper like her dad. You have no complaints about either one of those, more than grateful they both want to take after Usopp and following in his footsteps. Your girls absolutely love their dad, you get a little jealous sometimes, but getting to watch the three of them bond is your favorite thing in the world. It might make him a little emotional, especially after not having Yasopp around as he grew up.
~~
Shanks, I’m sure a lot are wondering about, would be such a great dad, we’ve seen him with Luffy and Uta, there’s no way he’d let down his biological kids imo. I see him with a son first, one with his hair that’s even more wild, and then twin girls! They’d all be about four years apart in age, but they’d run him ragged day in and day out. He'd teach your son how to wield a sword and help him develop his Haki, while your daughters will learn more hand to hand combat, though your youngest will join the sword lessons when she’s ready. When they’re little, he lets your girls put pins and braids in his hair, while telling all three of them stories about his time on the sea. The rest of the crew adores your children, Shanks knew they’d all be great uncles to your little ones.
~~
SHACHI WOULD SUCH A GOOD DAD OMG. You think I’m pushing Penguin propaganda, I’m here for Shachi now too. He’ll have two boys within two years of each other, yes the second is a surprise but so beyond welcomed, and then several years later a little girl that has all three of them wrapped around her finger! Your daughter would have his red hair, she’d just be the prettiest little thing, with chubby cheeks and her hair pulled back into two little ponytails. Your sons would have a mix between your hair and Shachi’s, both taking more after their dad in personality than anything. Of course, Shachi will teach all three of them to defend themselves, but especially your daughter since she’s the baby and he just wants her to be safe, even with her big brothers as her guardians.
~~
Rosinante, Corazon, however we wish to call him, he would be the best dad out of this group, I’m sure of it. Apart from taking in Law, he’d have two of his own children, a girl first and then a boy a couple years later. Law would act as a big brother to the two, it’d be the cutest thing ever. While your daughter would be outgoing and ready to take on the world, your son would much shier and would rather hide himself behind you or Corazon, normally his dad though. Corazon would NOT let Doflamingo around them; he’d probably keep the three of you a secret, maybe even his adoption of Law too, just to keep you all safe. He’s lost family before, he doesn’t want it to happen again, even if that means picking up and moving you all where his brother can’t find you. Apart from that, Corazon would make sure all of you had everything you needed, and your son would hold onto him through everything.  Your daughter would attach more to Law, but that’s perfectly fine, he’s accepted her as his new little sister and wants to protect her, he wants to protect your son too where he can. Your daughter would also want to keep her baby brother safe, not one of you would let a thing happen to a hair on his head. Corazon finally has a family again, a family of his own, he’s not letting anything happen to any of you anytime soon.

Rereading Dressrosa for the first time in quite a few years, after having become a Crocodad Truther specifically, was a really interesting experience, mainly due to the relationship between Kyros and Rebecca and Luffy's very strong feelings about those two in particular
Tumblr media
Starting with the latter point; watching Luffy get really passionate about making sure Rebecca reunited with her father, instead of the two never seeing each other again as Kyros had planned, was just really facinating to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now there ARE layers to this; Luffy saw first hand how much Rebecca and Kyros love each. Even if he didn't know or understand all the details, he knew these two were family forced to live apart due to Doflamingo's rule and that, even though Rebecca didn't know Mr Soldier was her father all those years, he still looked after her and did all he could to protect her. Luffy understands how much they matter to each other. Luffy also gets that Kyros was trying to make a sacrifice out of self-loathing; Kyros saw himself as a bloodstained monster who did not deserve to be by his daughter's side, thus his insistence on them going their separate ways. But not only is that "sacrifice out of loathing" not a thing One Piece rewards within the narrative*, but Luffy emotionally understands what Kyros was trying to do was stupid as hell. *(See; Robin trying to save the crew in the CP9 Saga, Sanji trying to offer his head to Kuma to spare everyone else (because he saw himself as the "least worthy", compared to Zoro who believed he was the only one who could actually tank Kuma and survive), Sanji again during Whole Cake Island, etc)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adding to that, in what I feel also harkens back to Alabasta (vaguely important since Dressrosa in many ways is a reflection of Alabasta); Vivi made her decision to stay in her home because that's what she wanted deep in her heart, because she loved her country. Just the same way, dethroning Doflamingo, getting revenge for her mother and reuniting with her extended family were all fine achievements. But all Rebecca wanted deep in her heart was to stay with Mr Soldier (regardless if he was her father or not). That's what mattered the most to her.
How could Luffy even think about leaving without making sure Rebecca was able decide on her own if she wanted to stay with her father, instead of him making that decision for her, not because it was truly "for the best", but out of Kyros' own guilt and self-loathing.
Tumblr media
All of that to say; Luffy becoming so emotionally involved in Rebecca and Kyros' father-daughter relationship is perfectly normal and on-brand for him, it's not strange at all.
...At the same time. I could not help but to wonder if those two's relationship could somehow reflect Luffy's relationship with his estranged parent(s), and more importantly, kind of debunk the fandom idea of Luffy as someone who 100% does not care if people are related or not and has ZERO interest in Dragon etc
Like I have discussed this before but I've been meta posting for so long on here I'll repeat myself just a lil; I feel like it's less "Luffy doesn't care Dragon is his father" and more "Luffy doesn't know HOW to feel about Dragon". We don't know what Garp told Luffy about his parent(s), presumably and based on the conversation post-Enies Lobby it just seems like Garp never mentioned ANYTHING to Luffy? Like he didn't even tell Luffy a white lie about why his parents weren't there for him? We simply do not know. But what we do know is these three things: 1. Luffy hates being alone, even more than "being hurt". Being alone is his worst fear 2. Although Garp was responsible for raising Luffy, he wasn't always there, meaning other townspeople and Shanks' crew alike were equally "responsible" for looking after Luffy. 3. Meaning Luffy was essentially an orphan. Fans will joke about Luffy's surprise at him having a father being because he's stupid, an asexy and doesn't know where babies come from, and while I may not be fully able to debunk that conceptually. Like. It's just as possible that because Luffy was raised like an orphan, he might have assumed that either his parents were dead or had abandoned him because they didn't want him. And I'm going to argue that if that's what Luffy always assumed was what happened, yeah, it'd contribute to his fear of being alone. It'd explain why he'd be surprised to find out he actually does have a father out there somewhere. And yeah, Luffy might not know how to feel about Dragon if that's the case. Should he hate Dragon because he wasn't ever there for him (from Luffy's POV)? Why wasn't Dragon there for him? Did he really not want Luffy, or did he have some reason for leaving Luffy? What is he like anyways, is he nice or cool or a dickbag?? Should Luffy even care about any of that stuff??? All of that to say; I don't think Luffy is completely disinterested in Dragon, I think he doesn't know how to feel or think about Dragon, and it's not relevant to Luffy right now anyways because Dragon's like, out there somewhere while Luffy is on his journey. Where as, if Luffy were to meet Dragon, get to know what he's like, why he wasn't there for Luffy and most importantly, how he feels about his only son (does he care about Luffy and his wellbeing? Is he a Kyros or a Kaidou?)- yeah, I think then Luffy COULD learn to be interested in Dragon and care about him Not out of obligation (because of their blood) but out of Luffy's own will, out of Luffy's acknowledgement of Dragon's love for him
And yeah, then we get to add the ever-delightful layer of Crocodad Trutherism to this mess.
You know how my personal theory goes; that Crocodile's been trying to find a way to overthrow and nuke the WG (potentially with an Ancient Weapon) to make sure his long lost child would be able to live freely and do whatever the hell he wanted without having to fear the WG would ever target him because he has Evil Revolutionary Leader Blood coursing through his veins. That's what makes the most sense to me as Crocodile's ultimate motivation. To protect his child, no matter the cost, even if he had to become the devil himself.
And hey, what was the story between Kyros and Rebecca again? Kyros trying to overthrow a corrupt government (a fallen Tenryuubito to boot) to protect his child so she could live freely without having a target on her back?
Tumblr media
I don't need to explain how One Piece does have repeating themes and motifs, surely. (Also there's something to be said about fathers in One Piece who would go to hell and back for their daughters, Kuma being another example, but that's a whole different essay. But Oda's Girl-Dad Agenda is showing)
But yeah, what's even more interesting here is how Kyros believed he didn't deserve to have a reunion with Rebecca. He commited a murder decades ago, and although everyone else seems to have forgiven him for that crime, Kyros himself still thinks of himself as a horrible murderer with bloodstained hands. Not helped by how Kyros thought him teaching Rebecca self-defence skills was a failure on his part as a father (instead of him doing all he could in the horrible situation they were stuck in; teaching Rebecca how to defend herself was absolutely justified, and Kyros shouldn't have blamed himself for anything there).
Tumblr media
Kyros didn't think he deserved to be with his daughter because he wasn't a good father, because was a monster. And Kyros could not believe anything other than that until Rebecca essentially forgave him, by explicitly telling him she wanted them to stay side-by-side. That she wanted him, and no one fucking else, as her father.
Tumblr media
And I once again repeat myself just a little as I ask; how would Luffy feel if he found out Crocodile was his father? How would Luffy feel if he found out the reason Crocodile was going to destroy Vivi's country was because he was trying to protect his son from the WG? And that son was Luffy himself? How would Luffy feel that the asshole who stabbed him through the gut, mummified him and poisoned him was his very own family? Who also saved Luffy's life the second he learned of their blood connection? How would Luffy feel in that situation, if he found out Crocodile cares about Luffy, and wants him to be okay? And how does Crocodile feel? After stabbing Luffy through the gut, mummifying him and poisoning the brat, does Crocodile feel like he has any right to call himself Luffy's parent, let alone father? He knows Luffy rightfully hates him for all the horrible things he has done, how could Luffy ever accept him?
The past is in the past and it can't be changed. But you always have the choise, the free will, to change yourself and become a better person. You can choose to do better things, to help others and be kinder. You can have a second chance.
Robin was given a second chance. Hacchi was given one too. Kyros was given that chance to become better. So why not Crocodile?

“Oh, she’s so cute!” Perona squeals and Mihawk gives his older daughter a narrow-eyed look to quiet down. The ghost girl gives a sheepish grin as she floats closer to take a closer look at Joyeuse, her baby sister. The babe watches her with big, golden eyes, and Perona is hard-pressed to not snatch her up and run away with her.
You are watching from the couch, Shanks stretched out beside you so that you can rest your head against his shoulder with a fond look. You feel full, content in a way that you’ve never been before to have your most precious people all in the same room. All you were missing now was your brother, but according to Shanks, he would be here soon.
Joyeuse gurgles and drools against her father’s chest, eyes watching the way the pinkett's hair bounces whenever she shakes her head. A hand is suddenly in reach, and Joy happily snuggles into the warmth it provides when it’s lain over her chest. She always knew who was holding her by their warmth. Mother was always cool, Father was almost scorching at times, but Papa. He was perfect.
“Do you want to hold her?” you ask Perona and laugh when the girl sits down faster than you’ve ever seen the other woman move, “Just make sure you support her head.”
Mihawk steps over to Perona and walks her through the best way to hold Joyeuse. He’d become rather protective to the point it was overbearing lately if you were honest with yourself. If you didn’t have your daughter, then Mihawk was the one holding her 80% of the time. You’d mentioned it to Shanks, but the redhead didn’t seem to have a problem with it, stating that he had far less dirty diapers to change.
“Stop squirming, girl,” Mihawk grumbles and then slowly transfers his daughter over when Perona stills. He watches the young woman coo over the babe, chest feeling tight at the display before him. Both of his girls so close together, the swordsman only wished that Zoro were here to see this. He would need to write to the young man soon and tell him the good news.
Mihawk relaxes once he is confident that Perona has a good hold on Joy, and makes his way to the couch where he sits on your other side. You snake a hand into his lap and he indulges you by threading his fingers with your own, the edges of his lips curling into a tiny smile.
“When is my brother supposed to be here?” you ask quietly. You’re beyond nervous to see him again, but terribly excited at the same time. It’s been over twenty years since you’ve seen your brother, and you can’t help but wonder how much he’s changed from the boy you remember from your dreams.
“Another day or so, most likely, sweetheart,” Shanks says and turns to press a kiss to the top of your head, “He left the same day I called.”
Shanks had gotten in trouble with Mihawk for not telling the other man about his decision to call Tomura, but he couldn’t bring himself to care too much. The older man would keep you away from your brother if he had it his way, if only to avoid any awkward conversions, or a fight breaking out. The redhead can’t imagine that Delemur would be too happy to find out that his little sister had gotten knocked up by an ex-warlord and emperor of the sea.
His eyes find their daughter and a smile lights up his face. Well, after Tomura meets his lovely niece, Shanks doesn’t see any kind of confrontation happening. Joyeuse had a smile that could melt the coldest man’s heart.
----
Tomura is practically vibrating on the spot when he finally spots Sphinx in the distance. He had swapped out of his Vice-Admiral uniform and left the massive navy cruiser behind on their last stop at port. He didn’t want to show up on the island Whitebeard was born looking like he planned on starting something, especially since he knew that Newgate’s first mate now lived there. It was only himself and a few select members of his crew, the ones who Tomura knew wouldn’t breathe a word about this place.
“Nervous, Vice-Admiral?” Nitchell asked. His commander was gripping the rails of the ship hard enough his knuckles had turned white, his face set into an even deeper scowl than usual. He gave a little shrug when Delemur cut his eyes at him, lips pulling into a frown.
“My little sister has been in the company of dangerous pirates for the past two and a half years. Of course, I’m nervous,” He snaps at the younger man. Tomura had let his imagination run rampant. Were you still the darling sister that he doted on all those years ago, or had you changed into something harder? He almost didn’t want to find out.
Delemur didn’t care that Shanks and Mihawk had told him that they loved you. That you had apparently become important to them. He was your big brother, so he would trust your word on the matter, and if you even looked uncomfortable in their presence then he would scoop you up and run.
It felt like a lifetime had passed by the time they had docked and made it to shore. The tiny port town was bustling with locals going about their business, and only spared him and his men a passing glance. Shanks had told them that there would be someone waiting for them at the edge of town, but once he got there, he wasn't expecting to see Marco the Phoenix waiting for them.
“Vice-Admeral Delemur,” Marco drawls almost lazily. He doesn’t like seeing the navy man on his island, but he knows that Tomura is one of the better marines and most likely wouldn’t try to cause any trouble for the locals. They’d never officially met before, since Tomura had never ventured too far into Whitebeard’s territory.
“Marco the Phoenix,” Tomura rumbled back, “Where’s my sister?”
The pirate doctor quirks his lips and crosses his arms. “Just up the hill a ways. Are you ready?”
Tomura swallows and dips his head in a nod, forcing his hands to stop shaking, “As I’ll ever be.”
He orders his men to disperse within the town. Delemur didn’t want to overwhelm you with too many people, after all, before he followed Marco up the hill. They walk for a while, passing by homey cottages until they come to a house that faces the sea. It’s small, though bigger than the cottage Tomura remembers from your island and looks freshly painted. There is a big shaggy dog lounging on the porch that perks up whenever they get closer, brown eyes looking them over before he barks to get the attention of his humans inside.
Tomura waits, and then the door opens. He can’t help but scowl when the redheaded emperor struts out followed by the smarmy ex-warlord, but the look on his face morphs into astonishment when you follow the two men out. He wants to close the distance between the two of you and wrap you up in a hug so tight that you’d never escape from. Instead, he stands frozen, looking at you like one might a ghost.
You flick your eyes over the man, taking in that white hair that makes you ache, the familiar shape of his jaw, and the brilliant green of his eyes. There is a vertical scar on the right side of his mouth that you don’t remember being there before. There are dark bags under his eyes, and you wonder if your brother had gotten any sleep while traveling here. You step off the porch, thankful that you’ve healed enough in the past three weeks that it took for him to get here.
“Tomura?’ you say quietly, and that’s all it takes for the dam to break. The man is striding forward in an instant, sweeping you up into a hug and you wrap your own arms around him, hugging your brother as tightly as you can. Snow sprouts around you, your devil fruit reacting to the surge of emotions that make your head spin.
“Gods, princess, It’s good to see you,” Tomura rasps against your hair, and you tear up, the old nickname a soft reminder that makes tears well up in your eyes. Your brother plows on before you can even think about getting a word in.
“After I heard those rumors about you I had to come back, had to make sure that you were safe, but none of us got there in time. Did they hurt you? Have they hurt you?”
You pull away at that, not liking what Tomura was trying to insinuate, and shake your head at him, a frown on your lips.
“I’m fine, Tomura. I was with Big Mom only a couple of days and Katakuri made sure that I was comfortable,” you assure him, and then look behind you at your boys who stand ready to intervene if need be, “And those two would never hurt me.”
Tomura frowns down at you, brows creased, “They're pirates, princess, dangerous ones. You never should have met them to begin with.”
Shanks steps up, his usual friendly aura replaced by one of annoyance. Maybe this hadn't been such a good idea. He didn't think that Tomura would try and turn you against them, not that he thought it would work, mind you, but still, it chafed at the redhead.
“Well, she did, so stop trying to make us out to be the bad guys. We're the ones who kept her company while you were too busy playing marine.”
The tension in the air skyrocketed at that, and Tomura pulls his sister away from the redhead, stepping between them, “And she would have stayed safe if you'd not opened your fat mouth, you fuck.”
Mihawk narrows his eyes, about to step in and put a stop to his farce of a reunion, when you speak up, voice full of such disappointment that it makes his own heart race.
“That is enough, Tomura. I wanted you here so that I could get to know you again, not so you could spit and argue like a damn cat. I might have stayed safe if Mihawk had never found me, but I would have stayed alone and hidden from the world until I died. You had twenty years to come and visit me, but you never did. You left me alone, stranded on that island with no one to talk to, no one to comfort me, and I was six! You don’t get to have a say in who I keep company with. You lost that privilege a long time ago.”
Tomura stares at his little sister in shock, guilt eating at him. You weren’t wrong. He’d left you there and hadn’t even thought about paying you a visit, far too worried that the military would find out about you. Before he can try and defend himself, you soften and reach out to take his hand in your own, your fingers ice cold.
“I don’t want to fight with you, big brother,” You say, and any ill intent that Tomura has deflated when you call him that, “I want to be a family, and you need to accept that they are a part of that.”
Tomura takes a second to collect himself. It’s been over two decades, but he is still wrapped around your little finger. He deflates and smooths a hand over his face, giving you a weary smile that you return, “Okay, princess. No more fighting.”
Mihawk saunters forward, taking up the space just behind you, “Glad to see that you’ve come to your senses, Vice-Admiral. Now, do you want to meet your niece or not?”
You and Shanks cackle at the gob-smacked look that paints your brother’s face, only laughing harder when he looks at his sister for confirmation, and she nods her head, a smile stretching across her face. Marco steps up behind him and slaps his shoulder, grinning at the stunned man.
“Don’t worry. You weren’t the only one surprised to know that these two powerhouses were having a baby. I’ll have to tell you about the first time Shanks tried to change her diaper.”
Tomura grimaces at the imagery, and then he is being tugged inside the house, led through the living room, and to the nursery that’s been set up in the back. The room is painted a soft purple, and a rocking chair in the corner, and there, in the center of the room is a wooden bassinet. You lead him over to it, and Tomura stares down at the new member of his family.
She is beautiful, her hair a fluffy red just a shade darker than her father’s, those eyes an exact copy of the ex-warlord’s, but everything else was you. Tomura still remembered what you looked like as a babe, the joy on mother's face when she had shown you to him for the first time. There would be no argument over who her parents would be.
“What’s her name?” He asks and reaches out, trailing his fingertips over the red fluff of her hair, and smiling when the babe gurgles at him.
“Joyeuse,” you murmur beside him, and lean into his side, your hand joining his own, “Mihawk came up with it.”
“It’s a fitting name,” Tomura says, and you beam at your big brother. It gladdened you to see that Joy already had her uncle wrapped around her pinky. You knew that any bad blood between him and your lovers would settle in time, though you could still foresee some tense moments happening. But even with the tension, having your brother here makes you happy, your family finally all together.
----
The next couple of weeks are filled with getting to know your brother again, and after a while, Tomura grudgingly begins to get along with Shanks and Mihawk. The three men could be found playing cards with some of the redhead’s crew on lazy days, you watching from the front porch and entertaining Joyeuse with your devil fruit. However, at some point, Tomura needs to leave, to go back to the navy.
Joyeuse had cried that day on the docks when your family had gathered to say goodbye to her uncle, and you had given him a teary-eyed hug, the babe pressed between the two of you.
“I promise to visit, princess,” Tomura swears quietly and presses a kiss to Joy’s brow who fusses and scowls up at him like it was his fault that she was upset.
“You better,” You grumble at him, and then he is pulling away with a wave of his hand. You watched him board the small ship he’d arrived on, and then he was gone, disappearing as the waves pushed him further away from you.
Mihawk steps close behind you, his hand coming up to cup your waist as he bends to press a kiss to the side of your head, “He’ll be back, my love.”
You press into his side with a sigh, “I know. I just miss him already.”
The ex-warlord hums and leads you back through town and up the hill to home where Shanks is waiting for the three of them. Perona takes Joyeuse, assuring them that she can keep the babe entertained while they have some alone time. Tomura wasn’t the only one who would need to leave soon.
You find Shanks packing a small bag in the bedroom, and your heart lurches at the knowledge that the redhead had to leave as well. Benn had gotten a call last week, and some of the islands under their protection had been raided by an upstart pirate crew thinking that they had found easy pickings. Shanks and his crew were to leave the next morning to go take care of the other pirates. It would be the first time that the redhead would be gone for more than a few hours.
Shanks smiles when he spots you and stands, opening his arm for you to fall into his side, pressing your face into his chest. Mihawk sits on the bed, watching his two lovers with heavy eyes. He did not wish for Shanks to leave, either, but he knew that with being an emperor, Shanks would always have a responsibility to the people that he claimed under his flag.
They were still working on finding proper accommodations for you and Joyeuse to call home. While Sphinx was peaceful, you weren’t a fan of the history behind it. Even though it stayed a poor island, people far and wide on the Grand Line would come to visit the island where Edward Newgate was born. He had hoped that Shanks would find a suitable island to stay at.
“I don’t want you to go,” You whine softly against the redhead and clutch him tightly. Everything was perfect right now. You and Joy were safe where you could lavish in your boys’ attention whenever you wanted, and the three of you had just grown closer over the weeks that you were all together.
Shanks sighs and pulls you over to the bed where he flops back, taking you with him and laying his head on Mihawk’s thigh. The other man cards a hand through that red hair, gently scratching his scalp with blunt nails. You shift so that you are draped over him, your face tucked into the crook of his neck.
“I know baby, and I wouldn’t if this wasn’t important,” Shanks murmurs softly. He hates that he has to leave you right after your brother, but he can’t let some rando pirate crew think that they could encroach on his territory, “You’ll have Mihawk to keep you company, though, and Perona.”
You know that Mihawk and the pinkette would be here, but it doesn’t make you any less upset that Shanks has to go. You’ve gotten used to having everyone around you, and it hurts to see them leave. You feel him adjust under you, his lips finding the side of your throat and nipping the sensitive skin there lightly. You shiver and rise up to see Shanks looking at you with half-lidded dark eyes, a mischievous smirk on his face, “How about I give you something to remember me by while I’m gone, sweetheart?”
You flush, heat burning your lower stomach, and you move to sit up, eager for his attention. This was the first time that you’d have the chance to be intimate with either man, for if it wasn’t Tomura stealing your attention, then it was Joyeuse crying for you. You hadn’t minded either, but it had left little time for the three of you to have any kind of alone time.
“Please?”
Shanks shuffles off of Mihawk so that he lays at the head of the bed. His cock is already hard and aching for you, and he quickly shucks his pants off with an excited grin. The other man shifts to lay on his side, content with watching his two lovers play with one another. You stand to strip off your pants and shirt before you shuffle back up the bed, thighs pressing in on either side of Shanks’ hips. You lean down, lips meeting the redhead's with a soft sigh.
His tongue presses forward, stroking against your lips and you happily open up for him, tongue meeting his own in a dance of slick muscles. His hand grips your hip, pulling you down as he rocks up into your awaiting heat. You groan and nip his bottom lip, pulling away to smirk down at your lover.
“Ride his face, darling,” Mihawk rumbles beside the two of you, and you shudder at the thought, pussy clenching around nothing. Shanks makes an eager sound and shuffles a bit down the bed so that you would have more room. Carefully, you scoot forward, knees resting around his head as you hover over him. Mihawk leans forward to watch, eyes bright with interest when Shanks curls his arm around your hip and jerks you down.
“Sit, baby. I'm not gonna break,” Shanks rumbles and you gasp when he licks up your folds, tongue swirling around your clit and making you see stars. Your hands grip the bed frame, head hanging low as your hips snap forward, seeking that delicious pleasure. The redhead groans, pointing his tongue so that he can pierce your leaking cunt.
The ex-warlord watches in rapt attention, watching Shanks tongue fuck you, watching the way you shake and shiver above the emperor, back arching from pleasure when the redhead suctions his lips around your clit and sucks harshly. You wail, thighs shaking as you come from the suddenness of it, slick coating your folds that Shanks happily licks away with a whine of his own.
You pull away from the redhead when it becomes too much, and thankfully Shanks allows it. You shift back down the bed, taking his aching length in hand and stroking it from base to tip, free hand pressing against his chest as you lift yourself and then slide down with a hiss through clenched teeth, stuffing yourself with his cock. You don't give yourself much time to adjust, the sting of his girth still present when you roll your hips, groaning when he slips that much deeper.
“That's it darling rock your hips, make him come undone,” Mihawk rumbles to your left, and you dip your head in a distracted nod, your legs and core working to bounce you up and down the pulsing length inside of you. You crack your eyes open, looking down to see the redhead reach out to grip your hip, his teeth clenched shut as if he was holding himself back from taking control.
“Fuck, baby,” Shanks croons and he adjusts his legs, scooting his feet up to put you at an angle so that he can snap his hips up, making you gasp and whine when the tip of his cock nudges against that sensitive deep inside of you. He feels you clench around him, feather-soft walls fluttering around his cock and dragging him deeper when you bend forward, resting your brow against his collarbone. He wraps his arm around your lower back, keeping you close as he pistons his hips up, slamming home at a breakneck pace until you are crying out, clenching and shuttering against him as you come.
Shanks isn't far behind, teeth bared in a snarl, and he pushes as deep as he can go, spilling inside of you and filling your cunt to the brim. You are panting above him, brow furrowed as you slowly sit up, bracing yourself with a hand on his chest. You feel hands gently pushing your hair away from your sweaty brow, and give Mihawk a weak, sappy little grin in return. Carefully, you crawl off your lover and fall to the side with a grunt, your body feeling rung out and exhausted. Shanks rolls so that he can cuddle against you, and Mihawk eases from the bed, a satisfied smirk on his face at seeing his darlings curled up together.
---
Three weeks after Shanks leaves, you and Mihawk are out on the front porch enjoying cups of steaming tea while Joyeuse naps, when he hears his snail transponder ringing. The two of you share a look, one bemused and the other annoyed before the ex-warlord sighs heavily and stands to go and retrieve the transponder before it wakes Joyeuse. He doesn’t answer the phone until he is back outside, leg crossed over the other.
Ca-lick
“Mihawk speaking.”
“Mihawk, it’s Crocodile. I heard what happened to your island, bad business that.”
You perk up, brows going to your hairline as you listen in on the conversation. Mihawk cocks a brow at the transponder. Out of everyone who could have called, he hadn’t expected his fellow ex-warlord to be one of them.
“Yes, it was rather unfortunate. I was fond of the place, but luckily I wasn’t there when the navy raided the island. Is there a reason why you’re calling?”
They hear Crocodile laugh on the other end, and then the sound of a strangled squawk that sounds oddly familiar.
“No beating around the bush with you, eh Hawkeye. Anyway, with the warlords being disbanded, it’s come to my attention that you and I are one in the same. Neither of us trusts easily, so I think that it would be beneficial for us to work together.”
You look at Mihawk in slight alarm. While you weren’t about to ban him from doing what he wanted, you refused to put your daughter into harm's way, and working with Crocodile sounded like it would bring more attention to you and yours than you wanted. Mihawk catches your look and waves a hand, silently telling you to calm down, which you scowl at.
“And why would I even want to consider that?”
Crocodile huffs on the other end, the snail rolling its eyes.
“To create our perfect utopia, of course. The Navy wouldn’t take an organization headed by us lightly. After all, they used to call you ‘Marine Hunter’.”
Mihawk huffs at the usage of the old name. It’s been years since he had gone by that title, but he can’t deny that the other man speaks the truth. They would make a very formidable pair even without the influence Shanks would inevitably have, “I have better things to do than play at being leader to some ramshackle organization, Crocodile. All I desire is a peaceful life, you know this.”
“And that’s what the clown is for. He’s been made emperor, so we already have a figurehead to fall back on if things don’t go our way. I’ve got it all planned out.”
In the back ground they hear another squawk, and this time a voice comes through.
“Don’t listen to this maniac, Hawkeye! He’s crazy!”
You can’t help but snort at the sudden interruption, eyes going wide, and you can’t help but wonder if this clown is the same one that Shanks likes to talk about. You couldn’t deny that you wanted to meet him, especially since he was connected to one of your boys.
“Oh, have I interrupted something, Hawkeye?”
There is a teasing edge to the other man’s voice, and Mihawk narrows his eyes at the snail transponder, “You have actually. I-”
Crocodile cuts him off.
“This something must be why you continued to disappear for weeks at a time, hmm? Rumors spread like wildfire, Hawkeye, and I’ve heard all about the woman you and Red-Haired Shanks absconded with. Quite the scandal, really.”
Your heart goes still in your chest, and you share a wide-eyed look with your lover. You knew that it was a possibility that your presence would become more prominent, your lover's were very prominent people after all, but you didn't think it would be so soon. It's only been three months since they found you, and Joy was only around nine weeks. Why couldn't this have come up later, maybe when Joy wasn't an infant? You tune back in when Crocodile speaks again.
“I'm not threatening you, Hawkeye. I'm simply stating that if I know, then surely the Navy knows as well. What's the saying? Strength in numbers and all that.”
Mihawk is silent, expression shuddering into a furious expression that makes you shiver. It's rare that anything gets under the ex-warlord’s skin, and this obviously has. He can tell that he is being manipulated by the other man, but at the same time, Crocodile has given nothing but good points so far. As much as he would like, he wouldn't be able to stay here indefinitely, there were still things that he was responsible for, and that would leave you alone. Which was unacceptable after the last time you were left alone. Would he rather risk you being taken again, this time you and his daughter, or would he rather be surrounded by like-minded individuals who would most likely keep the two of you safe?
Before he can come up with an answer, Crocodile speaks up, tone unusually soft and understanding.
“Think about it, Hawkeye. You have my number once you come to a decision.”
Ca-lick
The silence is deafening between you, and you bite your lip to keep yourself from saying anything when Mihawk stands, drops the snail, and begins to pace back and forth. You watch him, leg jiggling in anxiousness, and you want more than anything to ask if he is okay, but anyone at that moment could tell that the answer would be no. You are tempted to go inside and retrieve Joyeuse, just to bring yourself some comfort with her soft skin and grabby hands, but the babe doesn't deserve to be in the middle of whatever this is.
Mihawk is currently in the throes of a mental war. This… organization would keep you and Joyeuse safe, if he was willing to trust Crocodile, Buggy the Clown of all people. Which, granted, he was more inclined to trust the clown on the principle of him having grown up with Shanks on Roger's crew. They were brothers, and if there was one person that Buggy wouldn't betray, it was the redhead.
But would you be okay with moving to an island filled with unknown pirates? Surrounded by criminals who most likely came from Impel Down? He didn't like the thought of it, but at least there would be others beside him there that could offer you protection, offer you companionship beyond what he and Shanks could provide. It'd also have the added bonus of pissing your brother off, and Mihawk lived for that.
“Mihawk?”
Your voice cuts through his internal conflict, and he turns to you, marching forward and kneeling at your side, taking both your hands in his own, “Darling, what do you think?”
You chew your lip, brow furrowed in thought. Would it be something bad to be surrounded by other people? To have a community, that safety in numbers like Crocodile mentioned? You didn't know, but there wouldn't be a final decision until Shanks was in the know, too.
“Call Shanks. I want his opinion. He's talked about Buggy before, so I'm inclined to trust him, but I don't know anything about Crocodile.”
Mihawk reaches over and snags the snail, rattling off the number for Shanks. It doesn’t take long for the redhead to answer.
Ca-lick
“Mihawk? Everything okay?”
Mihawk rolls his eyes and shares a fond look with you at the concern the two of you can hear in the emperor’s voice.
“Everything is fine, Red. Something has come up, however, and we needed to speak with you about it.”
You listen as Mihawk tells him about Crocodile calling him and the offer to head this organization with the other ex-warlord. He makes sure to mention that Buggy was there in the background but hadn’t said much on account of Crocodile hogging the call. Shanks is quiet on the other end, and if they were with him, you would see the excitement that lingered in his eyes.
To Shanks, to know that the man, who was his brother in everything but blood, becoming part of his steadily growing family was something that he didn’t realize that he even wanted.
“Well, I don't think it's a bad idea. I trust Buggy, and Crocodile has always had a soft spot for children. I think it should be up to _, though. She'd be the one alone with them when neither of us can be there.”
You swallow harshly and then put on a brave face. If Shanks thought it wasn't a bad idea, and Mihawk seemed rather fond of it anyway, then the least you could do was try.
“I- okay. If that's what you two think is best. I trust my boys to make the right call for me and Joyeuse,” you say and squeeze Mihawk's hand, sending him a tight-lipped smile.
“We wouldn't do anything to put either of you in danger, baby. I think this will be good for all of us.”
It certainly took a weight off of Shanks to know that someone he trusted would be able to look after you when he or Mihawk wasn't there with you. And for as much damage Crocodile had done to Luffy when the strawhats had made it to Alabasta, the ex-warlord had helped him escape Impel Down and even protected the boy he cared so much for during the Summit War.
“He's right for once, darling. If you are ever uncomfortable or don't feel safe enough, then we'll find somewhere else,” Mihawk murmurs and ignores the indignant Hey! on the other end of the line.
You laugh, easily imagining the pout that Shanks is no doubt wearing. You feel more relaxed at your decision now that you've spoken to both of them more about this, the easy teasing between the three of you settling something in your chest. You talk with Shanks and while longer, the redhead tells you about how easily he'd dealt with the upstart pirates and how he would most likely be home in the next week.
After Shanks hangs up, Mihawk dials Crocodile's transponder snail. While you listen to them talk, you feel like this is a new chapter in your life, a new beginning to share with your boys and the little girl they have given you. You couldn't wait to see what happened next.

Imagine being a new member of the Red Hair pirates eleven years before the main plot
Tumblr media
Benn: This is Hongo, the ship's doctor
Hongo: And who is this ravishing creature?
Benn: down boy, this is the rookie that Shanks dragged home.
Hongo: Oh you poor thing.
You: Shanks picked me for my combat abilities
Hongo: you must be strong then.
You: admittedly my strength is nowhere near the boss's level, but I can go toe to toe with a rear admiral in a fight.
Hongo: I see
Uta: don't sell yourself short, I watched you spar with papa, and he was getting winded. *Makes those grabbie hands that signal she wants you to pick her up*
You: thank you, and who are you if I might ask. *Picks her up*
Shanks: that is Uta, my adorable daughter.
Uta: I'm papa's favorite, and don't you forget it, I'm also the ship's musician.
You: really, what instrument do you play?
Uta: *gestures to her throat* my voice box, I'm a singer.
You: I eagerly await your next performance then.
Uta: wait no longer, places everyone! *Claps her hands*
Hongo, Yassop, and Lucky Roux: *scamper around to clear a spot and set up a stage for her*
You: (ಠ_ಠ) ???
Benn: *scoops Uta out of your arms and carries her to the stage*
Uta: (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ a song for the newbie *starts to sing*
Yassop: *puts a chair under you and gently pushes you into it*
Shanks: *moves his chair next to yours and leans in* isn't she so cute?
You: yes, she has such a beautiful voice. Do you and your men usually allow yourselves to be controlled by the whims of a child?
Benn: ... Yes, but only because we want to
Tumblr media
After the song
Uta: *chilling in your lap* what'd you think?
You: you're an exceptionally talented singer, you must put a lot of work into it.
Uta: of course, practice makes perfect.
You: and you seem to have everyone here wrapped around your little finger. They must love you very much.
Uta: yes... I think they feel guilty, since my parents are dead.
Shanks: it's not that
Yassop: at least not entirely
You: I figured you were adopted.
Uta: what do you mean?
Shanks: how could you tell?
You: because she's talented,
The crew: (((;ꏿ_ꏿ;))) ....
You: *quickly adds* at something besides fighting and debauchery.
The crew: *laughs*
Shanks: wow, already making cheap shots at your captain on your first day aboard. It's true, she's talented, she gets it from her mother. We do our best to make sure she's provided for, but there are still some areas we are lacking in.
Uta: yeah, like shopping
Benn: we take you shopping, literally every time we make port.
Uta: Yeah! But it is always to sleazy back alley joints where everything is second hand and not the designer shops that have cute new clothes. All because of papa's ugly mug has a bounty on it. Plus none of you have any sense of style, and can give me useful feedback on my outfits.
Shanks: well that's true, hey! You shouldn't call people, especially your poor father, ugly!
Benn: I have always wanted to take her to those shops too, our little girl would look so cute in those nice clothes.
You: I can take you, I don't have a bounty, and I know a little about fashion.
Uta: *looks over your outfit* your fashion sense, outwardly, appears to be less offensive to the eyes than papa's.
You: uh, thank you.
Shanks: Offensive? What about my outfit is offensive?
Uta: your shirt is wrinkly and stained, and your pants!... Don't even get me started on your pants.
Benn: allow me, they look like you made them out of someone's grandmother's couch.
Shanks: alright, thank you I get it.
You: *grumbles* Sandals are a little worse for wear as well.
Uta: *giggles*
Shanks: y'all are teaming up on me
Benn: yeah guys, he's only got one arm, it's downright unsporting.

Tumblr media
Shanks stood in the hallway as he leaned next to Vivian's bedroom- it had been only a week since she had moved in with him on the ship. She had been polite but very quiet, meeting all of the crew however she had spent most of the time in her bedroom hiding. At night Shanks knew she was crying- he left like a worthless father truly... taking a breath he worked up some courage.
"Hey Vivian?..." He said softly and knocked on the door gently, waiting for a second before opening the door and looking inside. Seeing Vivian sitting on the bed reading through one of her mother's book clearly in a daze it seemed. His movement snapping her from her thoughts as she gaze a light lipped smile at him.
"Hey Vi- Uh we are heading to shore soon to meet up with someone I'd really like you to meet" He asked, She nodded softly at this and set the book aside. Shanks sighed at this and walked over taking a seat next to her on the bed, shifting a bit as he turned to look at hia daughter.
"I know this has been tough for you Vivian and I'm sorry... I-I want to make this a gold envirment for you but I understand if you want to be alone for a while.. but just know I'm here for you whenever you need it" He said softly, watching how Vivians eyes began to water as he said this, she nodded as tears rolled down her cheeks. He wrapped his arm around her as she leaned into him and silently cried.
"I'm sorry my dear..." He whispered, knowing that there were no words to bring you back to them but he would make sure your legacy lived on happily.
A few hours later the crew landed on the small island and started to dispurse to either the pub or getting supplies for the Ship. Vi being quiet the whole time as she followed Shanks out to the markets so she could pick things she liked and he giving her some Berries to spend for herself.
Walking off to a food cart she decided to get some meat on the done for herself and smiled as the vendor handed her the large treat.
"Good choice that's my favorite!" A cheerful voice sounded next to her, looking up to see a lengthy teen holding 3 in his own hands. She giggled since he looked so odd to her paired with the Strawhat on his dark locs.
"It's my favorite too, But I couldn't eat three of them" She said with a cheerful smile as she pointed to the ones in his hand. He laughed at this clearly amused by her words- However he paused and cooked his head to the side.
The teen squinted at her in confusion stared at Vivian, kneeling down and squinting his eyes as he stared at the little girl- Who looked at him in confusion and a bit intimidated by the stranger now way too close and stating at her funny.
"You remind me of someone-" He hummed squinting his gaze further. Tapping his chin as he stared hard at Vivian who was looking at the weird teen in question.
Shanks turned the corner trying to see where his daughter had wondered off to- Before he smiled brightly at the sight before him.
"Do my eye deceive me! Luffy!" Shanks laughed as he pushed the hat onto the teens head further with a laugh, Luffy looking up at Shanks with a wide smile.
"Shanks!" He yelled out with a laugh, Hugging his mentor who stumbled back and patted his back calmly.
"Luffy! Look at you" He said with a proud laugh as Luffy pulled back with a happy grin, Vivian staring at the duo with a raised eyebrow.
"This here is my daughter Luffy. Vivian this is Luffy! He's essentyally like your older brother" He said with a wide smile proudly showing off Vivian who shyly smiled and waved at Luffy.
"It's nice to meet ya Vivian!!" He said cheerfully ruffling her red locs which made her giggle.
"You know you're set up to see such amazing adventures Vivian with one of the best crews out there! Just wait- Shanks has had crazy adventures hell I've fought Fishpeople in a amusement park, Saved villages, Beat marine bases and met with pirates that are things of legend. Youre adventures are just starting" Luffy said with a grin, clearly good with kids and making them smile.
"Wait you really did that?" She said amazed, smiling as Luffy who nodded.
"Of course! I'm going to be King of the Pirates!" He said cheerfully which made her eyes widen at that. Shanks chuckled at this and placed a hand on Vi's head gently.
"Pretty amazing right?" He said with a chuckle as she nodded enthusiastically, Shanks noticing how much more cheerful she was while talking to Luffy.
After some talk between them all and Luffy updating Shanks proudly on his life the Older pirate felt the need for a beer starting to peek. Patting Luffy on the shoulder proudly.
"Im proud of the man youve grown into Luffy, We will need to depart and we are going to go to the market to finish getting supplies" Shanks said calmly, Vivian pulling on his sleeve nervously.
"Uh Dad? Can I hang out with Luffy today? I wanna hear more about his adventures!" She said cheerfully with a new sparkle in her eye.
Shanks had seen that sparkle before- That wash of inspiration that had bloomed in his eyes, in Luffy's eyes and now his Daughters.
Truthfully he didn't know if he should be proud or really frightened at how interested she was in being a pirate now.
"Well alright I suppose, Just remember we are heading out tommorow morning Vi" He said with a smile, She nodded excitedly at this and went with Luffy who had already started to talk her ear off and the two ran off. Shanks standing there with a small smile on his face, and a but of worry to his heart.
Vivian spent the whole day talking with Luffy's crew, Meeting every single one of them and exploring the ship. A bright smile on her lips that reminded him of you, the way she giggled and her growing excitement at every turn.
Luffy took on a older brother roll, even picking her up and running around with her like the ADHD kid he was as- entrusting her to even wear his straw hat which she wore with pride and care as they roamed around all day.
After Sanji had cooked a large seafood pasta dish for the crew and guest she ended up falling asleep soundly. Luffy carrying Vivian out back to Shanks ship who was holding his crew getting the last of the supplies they would need. Chuckling at the sight of Luffy carrying his daughter wearing his old hat.
"Looks like quite the adventure" Shanks said amused, Luffy giggling as he carefully took his hat off Vivian who didn't even stir from her sleep and transferring her to Shanks.
"Yeah, We had a lot of fun today! Honestly she is a natural. Took up to navigation with Nami and all of that" Luffy said with a laugh clearly prideful in having spent the day with Vivian. Shanks smiled at this as he told Luffy to hang back while he put Vivian to bed.
When Shanks returned from tucking Vivian in bed he went back to meet Luffy, seeing the young man leaned against the railings staring out fondly.
"Shes going to be great, I can already see it" Luffy said with a chuckle, messing with the ties of the hat calmly as he thought fondly- Shanks chuckling at this and nodded in agreement.
"I can see it, you really inspired her Luffy and brought her some happiness" He praised, earning a big goofy smile from him.
"You know when I become Pirate King, I did swear to return the hat to you. But who knows! Maybe it will go to the next red head" Luffy said with a joking laugh, Shanks rolling his eyes as he shoved the hat further down on the lads head making him laugh again.
"Maybe it will, Maybe it will.."

Perfectly harmless.
You very highly doubted that claim was true.
"Well," he said, tilting his head a little closer, "mostly harmless."
Still, almost as if to prove it, Shanks released his hold around your waist, his hand resting at your lower back a moment before slipping away to hold the cell door open for you. You stumbled just a little on your first steps out of the cell, your legs trembling, stiff and weakened in equal measure from three days and two nights stuck with the very limited range of movement that your bindings had allowed.
"Easy, now," said Shanks lightly, briefly slipping his arm around your back to steady you by your waist. "You haven't been on your feet in days, you can take a minute to get your footing. We're not in any rush."
"R...right," you said, uncertainly. You swallowed as he helped guide you over to the brig officer's desk, where you sat heavily in the chair, stretching your legs out for a moment. "I still don't really want to stay here too long. Three days has been more than enough." You leaned forward, pulling your swords across the desk and resting your forehead on one of of the black leather sheaths, laying your hand over the hilt. "Don't want to keep the crew waiting, either."
"Ah, they'll be busy a while," he said dismissively, pulling himself uo to sit on the desk. "There's a good bit of cargo to transfer." He nodded down at the swords. "Yours, I take it?'
You nodded, lifting your head. "I didn't even know if they were brought on the ship or not," you said. "My father made them for me." He had made them just over ten years ago, given them to you on your fourteenth birthday.
"Well, he was damned skilled. They're beautiful. May I?" He gestured a hand toward them. "If you don't mind."
"Go ahead," you said. You lifted one of the cutlasses and drew to from its scabbard, handing it over. His hand brushed across yours as he took the blade, clearly intentionally if the small smirk that briefly curved the corner of his lips was any indication. You watched him flip it deftly in one hand, holding it upright, his eyes scanning slowly down the edge of the blade.
"And well cared for. Sharp as a razor," he commented, impressed. He turning it sideways, flipping it around once more and nodding. "He teach you anything about smithing?"
You shook your head. "Not much," you said. "My brother was his apprentice. He taught me maintenance mostly. He instructed me in a few different weapon types, but swords were always my favorite." You took the weapon back when he handed it off to you, slipping the blade back into its scabbard. "And his."
"Experienced thief, weapons expert...." He leaned back a bit, smiling as he shook his head. "Yeah, you'll fit right in, sweetheart."
The way he was looking at you, the way his eyes burned into yours, had your face growing a little warm again as you turned your own gaze away, swallowing nervously. It wasn't as if no one had ever flirted with you before; you were honestly pretty used to it, ever since you had ended up living in the streets, used to crude comments and catcalling.
And yet here sat an incredibly notorious pirate captain, being incredibly respectful about it, all but making you swoon every time he lowered his voice or so much as touched your hand.
You stood from the chair, picking up your swords and setting to strapping them to your belt at either side of your hips, glancing down at the Marine cadet still bound in the corner of the room as his eyes passed between you and Shanks. You had never been around any pirates before now, but you had encountered your fair share of Marines, as many of them had been customers at your father's smithy.
Many of them had been self-righteous prats, and all the Marines aboard this ship had treated you like scum they had dragged in on the bottom of their boots.
"I think I will fit in fairly well," you finally said, quietly.
"Now that's the spirit!" His enthusiasm was honestly infectious, and you couldn't help but smile a little as he slipped off of the desk. "There's a fair chance you'll end up with a bounty on your head once word of your escape reaches Marineford, anyway. Between that and breaking into a base in a major city." He still sounded particularly amused about that as he rest his hand over the small of your back, stepping over the Marine cadet as if he weren't even there. "I'm eager to find out how you managed it. Oh, no, not yet," he added when you opened your mouth to respond. "I'm sure the whole crew's going to want to hear that tale."
Well, it was quite a tale. You were honestly surprised you had made it as far as you had before getting caught.
Before everything went to hell in a handbasket.
You lifted a hand to shield your eyes as you emerged onto the bustling deck of the ship; the mid-afternoon sun was blinding after days of only seeing it through one small, rounded window in the brig. The Red Hair crew was working quickly and steadily on robbing the Marine ship completely blind, right before their eyes—the entire crew of around fifty Marines was tied up on the deck, bound at their hands and feet, the captain and his officers situated at the center mast to give them the best possible view of the entire debacle.
Shanks called and motioned for his own officers to line up at the starboard side of the caravel, and took his time in introducing you to each of them individually. He glanced back occasionally at the Marines' captain and mates with a smirk, clearly reveling in their growing annoyance.
"Our newest thief has two years experience," he dragged on loudly, pacing slowly between you and his officers—many of whom were cracking up themselves, well aware that the whole spectacle was being orchestrated for the sole purpose of riling up the captive Marines, "and was arrested for—if you can believe it—breaking into a Marine base in a major port city in Arabasta with only one accomplice, and getting so far as to open their treasury vault before being captured."
And he paused for effect at that, waiting as the crew began to break into laughter, as you struggled to keep a straight face yourself, glancing toward the infuriated Marine captain, who had told you before shoving you into the brig a few days ago that he would personally see to it that you never saw the light of day again. For once in your life you were seeing karma in real time—and it was a positively beautiful sight to behold.
"And I'm sure we're all dying to know," Shanks went on, ceasing his pacing and stopping just in front of you, grinning, "how the hell she managed it."
He had given you more than enough time to go over the details in your head. A lot of your success had been pure dumb luck, for sure, but you drew up your resolve to relay it.
"Overheard a few cadets in a tavern talking about how the vaults were never heavily guarded...and the roof access was never locked." His eyebrows shot up toward the bright red fringe of his hair as you spoke. His officers glanced between each other. "A couple days later we climbed the back wall of the base. Knocked out a couple Marines at the top floor, stole their uniforms, and made our way down."
"Bullshit." All eyes shifted onto the Marine captain when he spoke up, glaring daggers at you. "That base is constructed out of sandstone. Five stories of completely smooth stone. There's no way anyone could climb the walls."
"Tell your comrades at the base to check the back wall for holes," you said coldly, your eyes lingering on his. "We used climbing spikes."
The man's teeth gritted together in a visible scowl. You turned your head back toward the snickering pirates, in time to see Shanks mumble something to Benn, who rolled his eyes and scoffed.
Then you heard the Marine captain behind you again, speaking in a low growl. "Disrespectful wench." You turned your head in time to watch him spit at the heel of your boot.
"Disrespectful?" Though the rest of his crew continued to chuckle, Shanks wasn't laughing as he put himself between you and the oposing captain, his forearm resting over the hilt of his saber at his hip. "I get the impression you haven't done much to earn anyone's respect," he said. "That being said, respectfully, captain...."
And with that, he placed the heel of his sandal against the man's shoulder and shoved him over. With the Marine's hands and feet bound, there was nothing he could do to right himself—nothing except glare daggers at Shanks as he crouched down in front of him.
"Don't interupt." Shanks gave him a smile and a rather hard clap on the shoulder before straightening back out and turning to face his own crew. "Now—"
"Goddamned pirates," he spat. Shanks looked back over his shoulder at the man. "A thief's a thief," he said viciously, glaring daggers at you from where he lay on the deck floor. "The whore'll rob you lot blind same as she tried with us."
There was scattered chuckling around the Marines as Shanks stared down at the captain for a long, tense moment. You saw something shift in his eyes, the warmth and humor leaving them.
"Whore?" he repeated lightly, raising his eyebrows. His eyes swept around the rest of the Marines, before he turned to you, taking a couple steps closer. He brushed a few strands of hair behind your ear, offering you a warm smile. "I take it," he said slowly, quietly, "this is how you were being treated for the past three days, sweetheart?"
You swallowed, glancing over toward the Marines, whose laughter had quickly subsided. "More or less, yes," you affirmed.
"Hmm." He nodded, his hand drifting down to your shoulder, lifting the torn strap of your black tank top—torn when you had been flung into the cell in the brig by a couple cadets, while the captain stood watch and told you then that you'd never see the light of day again. His eyes shifted over to the Marines again, and he spoke aloud. "Change of plans, men. We take everything from this ship that isn't nailed down...and then we sink her."
The protest from the Marines was immediate, loud and desperate—some begging to be spared, others calling you several other colorful names and shouting claims that you were lying. Even you found yourself staring wide-eyed at the red-haired captain, at the knowledge that he would sink an entire ship just because of how the crew had treated you.
You were beginning to understand the reason for his bounty.
Shanks ignored the Marines entirely—it seemed his mind was made up. "I think we're just about done here." Your eyes remained wide as he turned his head back to meet your gaze, his expression softening into a smile again, his hand resting at your lower back. "What say we get you over to our ship and..." He glanced down at your shoulder briefly, at the broken strap of your shirt hanging down, "maybe find you something to change into."
You nodded, tugging unconsciously at the broken strap to pull the neck of your shirt up. "I...suppose that would be..."
"There's no need to worry, love" He clearly noticed your unease—there was no doubt it was written all over your face. He curled his arm around your back, leaning in a bit so he didn't have to raise his voice over the mounting protest of the Marines behind both of you. "You're part of my crew now, and we always look out for each other." He glanced over at the metal clink of a lighter igniting at his other side, and grinned at his first mate. "Isn't that right, Benn?"
Hi first mate quirked an eyebrow, taking a puff from his cigarette. "What am I agreeing to?"
"Ah, don't worry about it," Shanks laughed. "Anyway—I'll trust you to handle preparations here." He nodded back toward the Marines as the three of you stopped at the starboard railing around the deck, and he leaned forward against it, his eyes scanning over his ship floating only a few feet away, over the rest of the crew getting the supplies they had taken from the Marines organized. "Half a keg of powder should do the trick, we'll bring the rest with us."
"Right," said Benn, stubbing out the cigarette he had just lit on the railing and tucking it behind his ear.
"After you've—"
There was a light metallic clink right behind you—and all three of you heard it, glancing over your shoulders.
In the same instant you drew one of your swords and spun around, leveling it with the Marine officer's throat, Benn had his rifle pointed at the man's forehead. The officer dropped the flintlock pistol he had pointed at Shank's back, his eyes widened in shock, shaking as he slowly raised his hands.
Shanks turned around and leaned back, hanging his elbow over the edge of of the railing and glancing at you with a quick nod of approval. Then he turned his eyes on the Marine, giving a small chuckle and cooking his head to the side a bit.
"Now that wasn't a very smart decision, was it?" he said, grinning. "You could have just snuck by and sent out a distress call. Did you?" he added, lifting his eyebrows.
"I—I—no, I—I just—I—"
"Check," said Shanks, cutting his eyes toward Benn.
Benn gave a short nod, shouldered his rifle, and headed off toward the quarterdeck in quick strides.
The Marine remained standing there, shaking and stammering, his eyes darting between your blade and Shanks as the red-haired captain rolled his gaze back over to you. "Quite a set of reflexes you've got, sweetheart. You said your father trained you?"
You glanced at him only briefly before training your eyes back onto the Marine, and nodded. "We didn't live in a great area," you said. "He wanted to make sure I could defend myself."
"I would have to say he succeeded," he chuckled, shaking his head a little. He leaned back a bit further, placing the toe of his sandal over the Marine's pistol and sliding it across the deck, stooping down to pick it up. "What other tricks have you got up your sleeve?"
"Well," you said, watching as he turned the pistol over in his hands, and then casually reach behind him and drop it overboard. Benn was heading back down the stairs from the quarterdeck with a coil of rope hanging from one shoulder. He seemed to be in no hurry, so clearly no distress signal had been sent off. You went on, "He rigged this for me, in case I ever get disarmed."
You shifted your weight onto one foot, and hit the back of your right boot heel on the deck, and a three inch blade shot out from a slot in the front of the sole.
The Marine drew in a sharp breath, and Benn stopped a few feet away, speaking one word that clearly echoed his captain's wide-eyed expression.
"Shit."
Shank's brief look of shock quickly faded into an almost childlike excitement.
"God, that is brilliant," he laughed, crouching down and tilting his head to examine the blade. "How's it work?"
"Some sort of spring-loaded trigger mechanism," you said. You knocked your heel down again and the blade retracted. You smirked a little yourself as Shanks straightened back out—his enthusiasm truly was contagious. "My father called them 'Ball-Busters.'"
That cracked him up immediately—he leaned his shoulder into the railing, laughing, while Benn gave a scoff and shook his head. "I'd say that's pretty goddamned accurate," the first mate said. "I got it from here," he added, pulling his rifle down from his shoulder and shoving it against the Marine's shoulder as you pulled your cutlass away and slipped the blade back into its scabbard. "Alright, over there with the other assholes," he said, nudging him with the barrel. "We're as sick of being here as you are of having us here."
You watched Benn usher the officer over toward the main mast, feeling oddly as if you were stuck in the middle of some strange dream you might wake up from at any minute—wake up back in the dark and dingy cell below the deck, down in the brig, getting dragged out to be shoved into an even darker cell in Impel Down for the rest of your days.
"Oh, you are just a treat." So lost in that thought were you that you jumped a little when Shanks wrapped an arm around your back again. "Come on, love. Let's get you changed and cleaned up." He pulled himself up onto the railing and stepped into a sturdy plank laid out between his own ship and the Marines', offering you his hand. You took it and he helped pull you up as well, his fingers lacing through yours as he gave you another charming smile. "I'd say you've more than earned it."
Your eyes remained locked for a long, tense moment, his thumb brushing across the back of your hand, your heart racing a little faster—until a particularly strong wave rocked both of the ships and made you stumble a little. He chuckled lightly, before leading you across the plank and onto the main deck of his own ship.
You felt more than a little out of your element a few minutes later, lingering near the door of the captain's quarters with your arms crossed over your stomach while Shanks rifled through a wardrobe against the wall. You were still a little apprehensive, your mind still lingering on the man's decision to sink the Marines' vessel solely on your behalf, but there was a charm about him that was almost intoxicating, and it was drawing you in quickly.
"Don't really have anything that's going to fit you properly," he said, pulling one shirt out and frowning at it before hanging it back up. "But there might be...something...."
You swallowed, glancing around the cabin—at the table to your left that was covered in maps, a desk in the corner with a closed logbook, a four-poster bed in another corner with a pair of floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the port side of the ship. It still all felt uncanny enough to be a dream.
"No...other women on the crew, I take it?" you said slowly.
"No," he affirmed, still pushing aside hangers and frowning. "Not as if it's intentional, it just...turned out that way, I suppose?" He said it with an air of genuine surprise himself that almost made you chuckle. "Seems most women aren't interested in sailing around with a ship full of—ah, this should do," he interjected, pulling out a white shirt on a metal hanger that seemed at least a little smaller than the others. "Probably haven't worn it since I was a teenager," he said, looking it up and down.
He gave the shirt an appraising nod, and then tossed it to you before crossing the room to take a seat at the desk. He noded once more toward the corner by the wardrobe where there stood a fold-out changing screen.
"You'll have to forgive me if I'm a little averse to leaving a stranger alone in my personal quarters. But..." He lifted his hand, smiling, before covering his eyes with it. "I promise I won't peek. Pirate's honor."
You did chuckle a little at that. It wasn't as though you weren't used to changing in less than totally private conditions—you had been living on the streets for just over two years. You crossed the room yourself, ducking behind the divider screen and pulling it out.
"Nor do I wish to be on the recieving end of the Ball-Buster," he added, and you laughed aloud at that.
"I've never actually used it," you said, hanging the shirt over the top edge of the screen and pulling your tank top over your head. "Not as more than a threat a couple times. The sight of it usually gets the point across."
"I can't fathom any circumstance where it wouldn't," he laughed. You heard him sigh after a moment, while you pulled down the hanger and unbuttoned the shirt he had given you. "Out of curiosity," he said finally, "why exactly were you being shipped to Impel Down?" You paused, your eyes flickering up to the changing screen, in the direction of his sillhouette—and noting that from his shadow alone you could tell he still had his hand over his eyes. "That's a privilege normally reserved for pirates and revolutionaries rather than petty local thieves."
"I, uh...." You swallowed, pulling your arms through the sleeves of the shirt. You hadn't been completely clear on every detail, but it seemed now was as good a time as any—even if it was painful to recall. "I...killed two Marines before I was apprehended."
"Did you?" he said lightly.
"Mmm." You set to buttoning the shirt, slowly, glancing toward his silhouette again. "I didn't...really mean to. After...I guess after my brother took a bullet for me, I just sort of...reacted. I don't even really remember much of it. Just—him falling, then them taking my swords and locking me in a storage closet before carting me off to the ship."
You truthfully weren't even sure how long you had remained at the base before being taken to the docks—locked in the dark, your arms wrapped around your knees, wondering if you were ever going to see daylight again, hoping it was all just some awful nightmare you might wake up from.
"That's...." You heard him sigh heavily. "That's a lot." You gave a small hum in agreement, looking down at the shirt, and sighing yourself—it fit you like a nightgown, the hem drooping nearly down to your knees. You shook your head and set to unbuttoning it again.
"I suppose the Marines had a good reason for treating me like trash," you allowed, rolling the hem of the shirt up and tying it in a knot at your midriff. You fastened a few of the buttons above the knot, and set to rolling up the sleeves. "I did kill a couple of their comrades."
"And they killed your brother," he pointed out.
You frowned to yourself, swallowing back a lump forming in your throat at his quiet, understanding tone. You glanced up again when you heard him shift, and watched his shadow stand and cross the room through the screen as you rolled up the other sleeve to just above your elbow. You pulled the screen back just as he reached it, your eyes meeting his the moment you did. The sympathy in his dark eyes was almost enough to break you in an instant. You glanced down at his hand when it came to rest on your shoulder for just a moment before your eyes snapped back to his.
"That doesn't—" He shook his head. "Nothing excuses fifty plus grown men treating a young woman like something a dog dragged in. Particularly not after what you went through." Your gaze fell away from his at that, down to the floor. "I'm assuming from what you've said—and forgive me if I'm wrong—that you'd never..." He paused, seeming to search for the correct words. "You'd never been forced to defend yourself before?"
You shook your head. You had practiced with your swords for years, sparred with both your father and your brother regularly, but you had never been in a situation where you had to truly fight for your life. You had definitely never killed anyone before. You barely recalled the details even now, and you honestly didn't want to remember them at all.
"Oh, sweetheart..." He let out a slow sigh, and wrapped his arm around your shoulders. You closed your eyes as he rest his hand lightly over your head, as a little tension you hadn't even been aware of released from your shoulders. Your head fell forward, resting against his chest, and you closed your eyes as he lowered his head over yours. "Just so we're clear...you don't have to stay here," he said gently, his thumb brushing across the crown of your hair. "You're not a prisoner, you're a guest. You can take a few days to decide. Or longer. But if you do..."
He moved his hand to your cheek, lifting your head gingerly until your eyes met his.
"This crew is like a family." He lowered his forehead to yours, his hand drifting down to your shoulder again as he offered you a warm smile. "And you'll be welcome to stay as long as wish. Alright?"
You swallowed, and nodded.
Lowered your head again, your breath shaking as it left your lungs, and you rest your forehead against his chest again, your eyes closing tightly. You weren't used to this—this degree of kindness, of compassion from much of anyone, much less a stranger...but something in his eyes, in the warmth of his touch, told you that he was being completely sincere.
"Th...thank you," you whispered—you couldn't think of anything else to say than that, nothing that could wholly express the emotion swelling in your chest.
He just chuckled lightly, wrapping his arm around your shoulders again.
"You're welcome, love."

Shanks // Nanny (f! nanny reader)
kinktober masterlist
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
warnings : can you tell i haven't watched or read one piece before, dilf shanks, riding, creampie
his precious uta always had to be left behind during his adventures, fearing he'll be in her way of her singing career. shanks was aware of her passion and taking her with him would only prevent that which he would hate to do. so what he has resolved to is leaving her with a trusted nanny. he was away for longs terms but dear it knew, one day, she'll see her beloved father and captain's crew sailing back home again. but until then, she will wait patiently.
you were her nanny and basically treated her like a little sister. "uta, are you composing more songs again?" you tilted your head, frowning as the adorable child is not resting from creatung her masterpiece "no y/n! i gotta finish this before shanks come home! i want him to be the first one to listen!" her circular braids shoot up like bunny ears. "well, okay but make sure to have your lunch and your nap okay?" you said gently as she yelled an 'okay'.
as you were folding the clothes you could hear a commotion from the shorelines and watched as a big ship, the flag soaring in the wind. "shanks!" you smiled at the sight of the captain, his smile as sweet as you remember, the scar along his eyes just adds to his attractiveness. "uta! come, the captain is back!" you yelled as she shrieked "he is?! shanks!" the excited child spent no time to lunge at him to hug him, a quite bizarre display of affection in public but shanks warmly held her in one hand. "looks like someone missed me, huh?" he teased, bopping her nose that made her giggle.
he walked back to home while you chatted with the red hat crew "party?" you recalled that made shanks turned "yup! we're gonna have party tonight because why not?" his cheekily smiled as uta forced him to bring her as well. settling down at the humbled abode, you bought on shanks belongings and placed them in his room as you could hear laughter and giggles of his daughter from the other side of the room. "captain, would you want something to drink?" you said as you headed to the kitchen. the man followed behind you as he went closer and took a sniff of your neck "you smell a little too good" he commented as you swatted him away.
"oh please, stop the teases" you smiled as you poured him a drink "how are you, y/n? she hasn't been causing too much trouble, has she?" he raised a brow as you shook your head. "she's a sweetheart, actually. currently composing a song for you" you smiled "for me? oh i'm flattered" he moved from his chair and moved to your back, latching himself close to your body "i miss both of you too much" his hand grabbed your waist as you made a small squeak. "you wanna help me with some stuff later on, pretty girl?" he used that tone again, that slutry tone you know you can't escape.
"uta is still here, shanks. she'll-"
"later on, at the party. deal?" he quickly cut you off. you turned around as he squeezed your butt with one hand and spanked it once before walking away. "be there, doll."
that night, the crews were rowding the bar as you sat with uta who was standing on the table while singing. you looked up at her, the juice you had in your hand sipped slowly. "hey, y/n. mind if i steal you for a bit?" you turned around to see rogers as you nodded. he bought you outside where shanks was waiting, his clothes getting blown away by the gentle breeze.
"i was summoned?" you mischievously asked, knowing what the older man wants. he smiles "is it too forward to say i really miss you?"
"me or something else, captain?"
"cheeky, huh? sit down doll, help your old man out" he said as you giggled. he man spread his legs as you situated yourself perfectly on his lap, always fitting there. always has and always will. "skirt up" he said, one hand caressing your hip as you lifted your skirt, revealing your white panties. "oh, have i missed this sight" he groaned, bringing yourself to rub on him as you whimpered. "oh.. can we just put it in? i stretched myself real good, i promise"
"you already have? what a good girl you are" he said giddily as you lowered yourself around him. the first stretch was intense as you frowned. he buried his nails around your waist as your warms insides wrapped around his length for the first time in so long. shanks can't even phantom how many times he has jerked himself to the memories of you and now that he's back, he isn't going to waste another minute.
"bounce harder, girl. yeah, you're doing good" he groaned as your hands rested in his shoulders. the outline of your bra was see through the white dress you're wearing and shanks ripped the fabric with his teeth. he engulfed one nipple into his mouth, swirling it with his tongue. "oh! shanks.. so rough.." you whined as his teeth grazed through the bud. he took the other one in his mouth, repeating the cycle.
"you look so pretty impaled to my dick. you're gonna make me cum, doll" he smiled tenderly as you squeeze your eyes shut, breathing hitched. "oh! shanks!" you rubbed your clit while bouncing on his cock, leaving the man a mess as his dick is getting clenched and he's going to cum any second now.
"you miss me that much?" he still cheekily asked. "yes i did.. fuck! i missed you so much" your bouncing was getting sloppier as shanks thrusted upwards "how much?" he started his rough pace "a.. a lot.." your brain was foggy, his cock thundering in and out left you mewling and wanting more. your eager cunt was milking him as he felt the pressure building, his hands were on your waist still as he frowned. his gorgeous red hair was blowing in the air, the scar adorning his eyes was wrinkling when he frowned.
you looked at him with awe as you slumped againts him, your pussy twitching as he came inside. he moved your face to kiss him, a soft yet passionate kiss with impaling his tongue inside yours. he looked at you while he panted, hands soothingly rubbed your back. "let's go back, hm?"

shanks liked to call himself a capable man. anything he wished was at his fingertips. feared as a pirate, there were little problems he had to struggle with.
maybe thats why he felt so helpless, watching her die. he had managed to stave off death so far, but it was an active threat. in the dim lighting of her room, a corner was ignited purely by the embers of her vivre card. pearl belon was at death's door, fighting a rapid infection and serious fever. at first he tried to be playful, especially when the others had managed to gather in a rare moment. his job was to ensure no one was too miserable before pearl, to ease her mind and let her focus on recovery. but as they all left, burdened by their own responsibilities shanks began to falter.
he carefully dipped the towel into the bucket of ice water, squeezing it tightly in his hand and placing it once again on her forehead. pearl softly whined, leading him to coo at her.
“sorry beautiful, doctors orders.” he whispered, brushing her hair from her face as she shivered. pearl had always been an indomitable woman, steadfast in front of even the most devious of enemies. it was hard to really imagine this being his beautiful pearl. pale-faced and quaky, she had lost a lot of weight in her illness. all they could do was make her as comfortable as possible as they tracked down marco. the doctor could undoubtedly break the fever, and kill the stupid infection once and for all. if she had still been around then well — ah no matter, no point in thinking of avenues that he wasn't willing to go down. at least not yet. shanks was growing more and more tempted to raise gryphon once more to enact revenge that was well overdue.
but for now he stood guard at her bedside, tending to her through the night. occasionally she broke through to consciousness, and he quickly moved to soothe her worries, gently convincing her that she was not a burden and that while he admired her devotion to him enough to die, shanks much preferred to have his wife alive.
the door cracked open, and shanks rose his eyes to face whoever dared to intrude. only for his gaze to soften at the sight of his daughter.
“how's mom doing?” uta asked softly, clinging to the door as she stared down pearl's slow breathing. no doubt she was overanalyzing everything and making the worst appear in that vivid mind of hers. shanks’ eyes shone in sadness as his hand reached out for her. uta's eyes watered, rushing to grab her father’s hand and collapse at his knee, burrowing her face in his lap as she began to sob. shanks sighed softly and combed his fingers through her split-toned hair. it was hard for anyone to watch their parents suffer, and while they all stayed strong it was impossible to expect perfection.
“do you..do you think she’ll live?” uta said between hiccups, looking at her sickly mother. it was hard to say, and shanks didn't want to completely wave away the possibility that they may be having a funeral rather than a celebration of her recovery.
“you know pearl, she's a strong woman. a crafty one at that— she will do her best i'm sure of it.” he replied, hushing her cries as she desperately tried to hold back. uta felt a wetness on her head and she looked up to a sight she had never seen before. she rose to hug her father as he tightly held her close, the two continuing in their crying. never had the two dreamed to imagine that pearl would be in such a predicament, and there was feasibly nothing they could do but wait.
it was so terribly difficult to keep their spirits up, sometimes this was warranted.

─Red Hair Pirates & Whitebeard Pirates x fem!reader
─Summary: You are not having the best days but your family and friends make you see that you should not drown in a glass of water
─Warnings: none
I feel your loss :( and hey, everyone argues from time to time, things can be solved by talking if both parties want to work it out, I hope you are feeling better now love, feel free to message me if you need anything! 🫶🏻
Tumblr media
Your mood was really shitty lately, you argued with some important people over something silly, nothing seemed to go your way and you thought you were being a complete nuisance to all of your father's crew right now, so you decided to run away for a few weeks hoping a break would lift your spirits.
It seems you couldn't enjoy your alone time either because it just made you overthink the situation you were in which caused anxiety to kick in, everything was going so bad lately that you couldn't take it anymore, you needed to unload everything you had but you did not find any psychologist or doctor who convinced you to be able to try to calm your mind.
You were in the middle of a mental breakdown, in the middle of nowhere, on your way to another island when you saw it in the distance, you hadn't seen them many times, but you knew the Red-Haired Pirates, you thought it was better not to bother them considering your state in deplorable spirits, but once Shanks saw the ship with Whitebeard's mark on it it was inevitable that you would not end up aboard his ship.
The screams, belches and music made you shudder at first, too used to your deafening stupid thoughts, you looked like a little animal about to be run over while you watched all those men dance and drink without worries.
"What's the long face? This is a party, you should celebrate!"
Yassop patted you on the back offering you a drink which you refused, Benn denied seeing the interaction, coming closer to see how little receptive you were, he knew that something was occupying your mind now and it wasn't a party exactly what you had in mind.
"Don't listen to this idiot, you can do whatever you want, you can even hit Shanks if you want."
A grimace similar to a smile appeared on your face, a bit amused by Benn's words, apparently he summoned the redhead just by saying his name.
"What's up with me?"
"Oh nothing, we were just planning the way to kick you."
"Again? You should stop inciting our guests to hit me!" he looked at you, changing his silly smile to a fake look of a kicked puppy "Don't listen, okay? I know you're better than that! Someone like you wouldn't kick me, would you?"
You were amused by his nonsense, sharing a quick glance with the other two men, the grimace on your face turning into a wider smile.
"I don't know, the offer sounds good, what do I get if I kick it?"
"It!?"
Ignoring Shanks's betrayed expression, Benn and Yassop looked at you laughing, both patting their captain on the back making him take a step closer to you.
"Whatever you want! As long as you hit him with your greatest force."
"Hey! I'm the captain what the hell is wrong with you?"
They started a silly argument which the others joined in, making you chuckle slightly at the absurd situation, this little visit didn't exactly fix your problems, but spending time with this crew made you clear your mind and feel a little better, you decided you could deal with your problems a little later, for now you needed to release some tension.
Tumblr media
Coping with the loss of a pet, arguing with some friends, feeling like everything you do is not paying off, it all came crashing down on you like a storm hitting hard, you felt so bad you didn't even want to bother your father with your problems or the others.
You felt miserable, the days began to go by like a blur, unable to leave your room or socialize a bit, you felt alone and locked up, you were terrified of facing your father to talk about your problems thinking that you would only be a burden to the whole the crew, you felt bad asking for help even if you needed it.
And, honestly, you would have kept drowning in your own misery if it hadn't been for Ace noticing your absence, he could tell you weren't fine pretty quickly, although he didn't want to push you, he felt that you were simply making things worse for yourself by locking yourself away.
He asked Marco for help because he knew that he could not approach the subject delicately, the least he wanted to do was cause you to have an anxiety attack because of him, he did not want to be abrupt or direct when talking about the subject, so it was Marco who asked you how were you.
You didn't know if it was due to despair or mental exhaustion but you ended up telling between sobs that you weren't feeling well, that lately you felt that everything was against you and that your life became a constant uphill.
"Okay, calm down, everyone has bad streaks, does your father know anything about this?"
"N-no…"
"You don't need to say it right away if you're not comfortable, but talking to him will calm you down, it's stupid for me to say it but Whitebeard is a kind man, your father will understand you perfectly."
You nodded, burying your face in his shoulder, tightening the hug a little more before letting him go, it took a couple more days before you faced your father, it was hard for you to open up about the situation but Marco was right, once you let go everything, your father hugged you saying that everything would be fine.
"Oh my daughter, you should not worry, life turns its back on you sometimes so you have to stay strong, please, if there is something that can cheer you up right now I will do it for you immediately."
Your father's devotion to making you dear raised your spirits a lot, you smiled widely, denying his proposal for the moment, there was nothing he could do right now, you just wanted to hang out with the others since you had wasted a lot of time locked up.
"Oh look, isn't she my favorite girl? It's good to see you around here again, come on, just tell me what you want and you'll have it as fast as possible."
You laughed slightly at Thatch's enthusiasm to see you appear in the kitchen, ordered your favorite dish and got to work, while Izo walked in just to pick up something he'd forgotten, although he did stop to talk to you about some gossip you'd lost, put you up to date with everything.
"Is that food I smell? Can I have one piece?"
"No way, back down demon!"
And the peaceful gossip talk went overboard when Ace came into the kitchen drooling from the smell of your food, you and Izo laughed as Thatch tried to hit Ace with a spatula to scare him away, a small fight started in the one where the cook was juggling your plate while trying to keep the other boy from touching your food.
You lost it when Ace tripped over a cloth on the floor, grabbing onto Thatch's apron which knocked the plate into the air, they both fell to the floor and mysteriously the plate remained intact right on top of the cook's toupee. Izo smiled seeing how you laughed at the dumbest fall you'd seen so far, everyone knew that you hadn't been feeling very well lately and seeing that you were beginning to have a better mood made them happy.

Here's a list of things I've been batting around that I want to write/am in the process of writing. This isn't really to hold myself accountable bc that never works, but sometimes talking about it helps the words flow better 💪
Goth Fam Prequel: the one where Mihawk and Shanks sail into a hurricane, which I started first, then wrote Red Skies at Night instead. Technical issues still abound, but I will finish this one if it kills me lmao
Goth Fam Sequel: currently working on this one. This will take place during the second year of the timeskip. Mihawk and Zoro are both significantly more powerful than Perona, so I wanted to write something where she has to save their bacon.
Mishanks Western AU: Ten years after he lost her, Shanks gets a lead on his stolen daughter. He needs hired guns to save her, but unfortunately for him, the only man available for the job is a wandering swordsman.
Mishanks Black Sails AU: Already got one of these up, but I have a few more scenes I want to write. One is mixed in with the end of season 3, so Mihawk and Charles can snarl at each other. The other two are post-canon, and then what happens to them when the Spanish raid the island. No one has a good time!
Morning After: there's one million fics about what happens after Mihawk gives Shanks the bounty poster, and I will read all of them, and then write one, and then there will be one million and one fics about it. Actually the first Mishanks thing I started writing when I first watched OPLA 🤭

Chaos and Her Children (I'm sorry, I didn't really plan a sketch ahead so I couldn't fit Yuna in the eldritch fam group shot lol)
Wanted to make a post about Yuna's biological family. They are all originally Pokemon OCs, but Yuna's vague resemblance to their mother compelled me to put them in the OP verse as well. This is just a placeholder, but I like to refer to the children as The Chaos Sibs :D Excluding Yuna, the siblings take inspiration from the Velvet Room attendants (from the Persona series), the Three Mothers (from Dario Argento's films), Chthonic gods, and certain fears from The Magnus Archives.
Eriza
The mother. While she usually appears to others as a very tall and exceptionally beautiful woman clad in robes and with a gentle voice, she is actually an ancient, primordial god-like entity in disguise. Her true name is unknown but in the human language, it means "The Singer of Unreality." She is largely absent from her children's lives but nevertheless continuously watches over them from afar. Although she finds amusement in mankind's suffering and discord, she ultimately does not want its complete destruction. Her resemblance to Nico Robin is purely coincidental (during the time I created her, I was not into OP and was unaware of Robin's post-timeskip look).
Moira
The eldest. The most serious one in the family. She is a bit of a misanthrope, preferring to stay away from human affairs. She comes off as a stern and cold person, this being considered ironic by her family since she carries "the fires of hell" within her; her main power is to emit and control heat, to the point where anything or anyone she touches, breathes on, or is in her vicinity can burn into ash instantly. She can negate the usage of Busoshoku Haki, and quite painfully, making the user feel as though it is burning and melting off of them. Her animal symbol is the dragon. Her design is largely inspired by Sumika Warakubami from Kakegurui (because as soon as I saw her I just went "omg she looks like a perfect mix of Eriza and [insert father's name])."
Kita
The 2nd child. The most chaotic one of the children and the most involved with the human world. She is often seen hanging out with the Red Hair Pirates - having a brother-sister-like bond with Shanks - though she will occasionally spend time with the Thriller Bark Pirates as well, considering Perona like a daughter. Her powers are associated with darkness, ghosts, and nightmares; she becomes most powerful during the new moon and the solar eclipse. She can also attack by manipulating her sleeves, which includes being able to sharpen them into blades. She can prevent the usage of Kenbunshoku Haki. Her animal symbol is the cat (including big cats, especially panthers). She is the first of the siblings to meet Yuna when she was a child (although Yuna does not remember this).
Carmen
Was the youngest until Yuna was born. Uses male, female, and gender-neutral pronouns. They are similar to Kita in seeking fun and pleasure in the human world, often reveling in their festivities. They are like a walking mix of a mirror funhouse, a haunted house, and a kaleidoscope. They have the ability to induce hallucinations, influence ecstasy and madness, and generate glass shards out of thin air (this being dependent on how much light there is present). The glass shards can be used simply as attacks, build shields, and construct false realities. They can prevent the usage of Haoshoku Haki, or more accurately reflect its effect back at the user. Their animal symbol is the fox.

Uta's Story
(Lock in its long)
Obviously we know that Uta is Shanks' daughter, but most tend to completely forget about her and replace her with Luffy.
It all started when Shanks found baby Uta in a chest full of treasure, from that point on she was his daughter and he obviously loved her so much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When she was 9, her and Shanks met Luffy, a 7 yr old boy from Dawn Island, he kept pestering Shanks about joining his crew, the answer was always a no.
Uta and Luffy grew close, they definitely had a Big Sister little brother vibe going on.
Tumblr media
Luffy was confused when one day Shanks showed up to the island without Uta, Shanks told him a really obvious lie about her wanting to leave the crew to become a singer.
What really happened was on the island of Elegia.
Tumblr media
Uta had befriended the people of this island, though she found a piece of sheet music and started singing eventually leading to Tot Musica to be released destroying the island and its people.
Tumblr media
After Shanks and the rest of the crew defeated Tot Musica they found out it was Uta that had released it, but she didn't know, how could she know this would happen?
So what did Shanks do?
Well I'll tell you.
He left her. He left her on that burning island making her believe he destroyed the Island and took all the treasure with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From that point on she hated pirates. She was taken into the care of Gordon, one of the only survivors of Elegia, he taught her how to sing and play instruments.
She grew older and wanted to show her music to the world, so one day when she found video transponder snails washed up on the beach she took that as her chance to show the world.
So she did just that. She sung for people, and they sent her messages back, she wanted to create a world where no one would feel suffering and pain and just lived in peace and harmony.
But she found a video transponder snail that showed what really happened to Elegia, she knew she was the one that did this.
She eventually set up a concert on Elegia (without telling Gordon about it) lots of people from around the world came, there was also a live feed. Now pay attention because her music is important to how she almost achieved her dream of a new world.
Even Luffy and his crew showed up (but she didn't recognize him until he came on stage and told her)
How she got her devil fruit is unknown, Uta ate the Uta Uta no Mi (ironic I know..)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In order to stay awake and full of energy she started eating a mushroom called 'wakeshrooms' keeping her awake for a certain amount of time. Though.....it does something if a user eats to many.
The user dies. Uta knew this. She knew this and still continued to eat them. That was part of her plan for a new world, she would sing, trapping everyone who came to the show and whoever was watching inside the Uta world.
....
If she dies..everyone inside the fake world would stay trapped there forever.
So naturally, the Marines heard of this and went to stop her and take her into custody.
Shanks, however, also heard of this and made his way to Elegia.
Uta was going to kill Luffy, in the fake world she ripped his strawhat and wanted him to forget about being a pirate and join her, he refused for obvious reasons.
Shanks was just in time to save Luffy from being stabbed.
Tumblr media
She was angry, hurt, upset at Shanks, but he still insisted on helping her.
In the fake world however, she Unleased Tot Musica.
A second time, this time on purpose.
Tot Musica took over her body just like it did all those years ago. So Shanks and Luffys crews worked together, Strawhats helped in the fake world and Shanks helped in the real world.
Tot Musica was defeated, Usopp talked to Yassop, which is completely irrelevant but anyway..
Uta started singing to free everyone she had trapped, by the end......
She died.
Though this movie isn't canon Uta is still canon, but her death being canon has not been confirmed.
I just needed to talk about her because she is my favorite character and she's so mischaracterized, mostly by people who dont understand why she did what she did.
But let me know what you guys think of Uta!
(so sorry if my explanation of her backstory was hard to understand but you could always just watch film red)

the Shanks is eldest daughter post is so real and true to me too, what's your conspiracy theory? :O
JDBFKSNFN okay for a bit more context i made the post bc i was watching the new ep and buggy’s flashback n just generally. How he saw shanks as this perfect golden son/scion of Roger………
But my conspiracy theory is that Roger basically asked shanks to give up his dream at 14 and told him to step aside to instead work towards setting up the stage for the future joyboy. I only have a little to go off of, I call it a conspiracy theory bc it’s me extrapolating more from his actions than from real concrete evidence in the story, but until we know shanks’ true motivations and what Roger really told him upon returning from Laughtale this will probably be how I personally see shanks and his intentions 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ it’s fairly obvious he knew about the nika fruit and all that surrounds it and we can pretty safely assume Roger was the one who told him but aside from that what’s interesting to me is how as soon as it’s eaten he returns to the grand line and quite strategically works his way up to being an emperor, a title that he uses to act as this old guard/sentry to maintain balance until Luffy can come into his own. And for a boy who grew up on Roger’s ship, who used to gush about wanting to do nothing but sail and go on adventures in the future, to end up in that position twenty yrs later is a bit Interesting to me, esp in comparison to how the rest of Roger’s crew has faded into obscurity—shanks is very explicitly the only one who has retained that level of prestige. And like……. being asked by ur parent to set aside ur own goals to take care of the next generation even as ur other sibling looks to you as the epitome of the perfect doted-upon child is Very eldest daughter coded LMFAOOOOOOOO
Anyway I think there’s a decent chance this isn’t true or is only true to a far lesser extent bc it would be a bit out of character both for Roger (as the prime example of being a pirate and thus one enormous embodiment of Freedom) and honestly for Oda/the story, plus it does a bit of a disservice to shanks’ character as like. The story’s platonic ideal of a pirate (honestly I might even go so far as to say shanks is more that than even Roger is, being the mentor & the man luffy most emulates while Roger is a mythological idol) shanks is the one who fundamentally taught luffy how to be a pirate so the idea that Shanks threw away his dreams for luffy is a bit iffy. But I suppose there’s narrative weight to shanks giving up his dreams too, specifically for luffy in a sense—this is smthn I’ve gotten at in other posts abt his arm sacrifice and the hat, how to a certain extent the hat was always Luffy’s birthright as a symbol of Roger’s inherited will but the arm is smthn else entirely……… but now I’m just rambling and I know that’s me projecting more symbolism than Oda ever intended LMFAOOOOOOOO
So I think the most likely to be canon is a Lighter interpretation of the concept, that Roger did tell shanks some extent of what he saw on Laughtale and perhaps even made some requests of him, but not like. An order or anything. But idk who knows where it’s all headed!!! Certainly we’ll learn more about all of this and I’m sure buggy will be along for the ride too ISNFKDNKDN but there u go. Thats my conspiracy theory 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

Cowboy Casanova {Cowboy!Shanks x Reader}
Tumblr media
Shanks is divorced to an unknown woman in this AU (??) Her loss I guess🤷. I was going to use Nami instead of Belle-mere but then I remembered that didn't make any sense timeline wise sooo here we are
Western AU Rules Word Count: 0.7k Spoilers: None
"Uh oh, look who's coming." Belle-mere nudged you, watching as Shanks make his way over to where the two of you sat on your ancient porch, his horse hitched up on one of the nearby posts. It was a wonder how the drunk even managed to tie the knot with how much he drinks daily.
"Well, howdy ladies, fancy seeing y'all here." Shanks greeted, faking a thick southern accent as he tipped his hat to the two of you.
You couldn't stand Shanks. You've heard too many stories about him in the many bars around town to have much respect for him. Most of them end with the redhead being dragged out to stop him from drinking and flirting with all the women there. Someone with so little care about their reputation always left behind a trail of trouble- bad luck, so to speak. You only wished your heart would stop aching whenever the alcoholic in question came up in your mind. You thought you hated everything about him, so why did you want him around so bad? Why do you daydream about talking to him for hours on end? Why did he have to be so handsome? You could tell Bell-mere knew about your little crush through all the knowing glances she always shot your way. You swore you'd kill her if she kept making it so obvious.
"Shanks," You greeted, clearing your throat, "What are you doing here?"
His eyes glimmered with mischief as he caught your gaze with his own, "Just thought I'd stop by and say 'hi' to my two favorite girls."
Bell-mere snorted, rolling her eyes playfully as she spoke, "Oh please, Shanks, take all your flirting back to the bar. None of that'll work on us."
"Yeah?" He grinned, "Well, maybe that's why you two are my favorite." You felt a light blush dust your cheeks at his words. You didn't think you'd last long if he kept at this game of his.
Small, golden clouds of dust started to kick up against the strong orange of the setting sun. The night sky that slowly peaked out above the rolling hills of the west faintly cast an ocean of darkness over the desert landscape.
"No really though, what are you doing here?" You questioned, curious as to why he traveled all the way from the city to where your small house sat on the edge of town. It wasn't a ridiculous journey by any means, but it took about an hour to do so, and you doubted it was only to say 'hi'.
He gazed into your eyes for a moment before replying, "My daughter, Uta, she's uh- well- I need help watching her." He paused for a moment, considering his next words, "She's young, and I'm away a lot longer than I'd like to be. Would you at least consider it?"
You thought about it for a moment- well, overthought it. Babysitting his daughter would surely make people talk. It wasn't exactly common for a divorced man let his daughter be taken care of by someone other than his ex-wife. Would this make you appear to be his wife? Or perhaps Uta's mother? Was this his strange way of courting you? It was Belle-mere not-so-subtly stepping on your foot that broke you out of your little trance.
You blinked up at the man and sighed, "Yeah, bring her over here tomorrow, I'll look after her."
"Thank you, (Y/N), you have no idea how much this means to me." He beamed, jogging up the creaky wooden stairs of your old porch as he leaned in and kissed you on your cheek gratefully.
Your blush rushed back fast as you stammered over your next choice of words, "Y-yeah, anytime- I mean, we're friends, right?"
"Yeah," His features held a sort of saddened desire as if he wanted-hoped even, that they would've been replaced with something else- something more intimate. "If you ever need anything, just come fetch me, alright?" He cringed internally at the word 'friend', but he supposed 'friends' would do for now.
You watched longingly after the redheaded drunk. It didn't take long for Belle-mere to catch on to your stare, as she quickly started teasing you for it. Belle-mere's playful jabs and giggles, your desperate pleas for her to quiet down, and the hooves of Shanks' horse as he made his way back to the closest bar to try and drink his feelings away again filled the night air. Both of you and Shanks' lives would be a little different now that this little event would be set in motion.

Since you wrote dee and Bee as adults drabble will you be doing the same for shank’s daughter
I gotcha! Had this brewing for a bit but hope you like it!
Vivian As A Adult
Tumblr media
Support me on Ko-Fi
Check out Old Man Series! <-
• Vivian set off on her own, wanting to be like her Idol Monkey D. Luffy- The Pirate King.
• Being trained by The world's current best Gunman and a Yonko had some extreme benefits. She was training to be the Best Gunner in the world. However no one really paid much attention to that- It was more that she was a pretty girl who looked fairly similar to a famous Emperor of the sea.
• She set out on her own at 17, wanting to get a head start on her pirate career... which had started out as sort of a flop-
• No one wanted her on their crew, both out of fear of what it could lead to from her father and doubts about her abilities. Assuming she must be a spoiled brat with her ego inflated-
• And truth be told- Vivian was terrible with money... horrible infact- She went broke in less then a month and with bleeding pockets didn't know where to turn-
• Till she stumbled on a old acquaintance- non other then her former childhood crush Dracule Alucare- He had recognized her immediately and bought her a meal. The two talking and agreeing to temporarily join together- Especially since
• Both their navigation skills were lacking however and it didn't take long to find trouble again- This time by Alucares old 'Ex' who thoroughly beat his ass {Literally} and took the ship captive.
• Knowing if both of them were captured it would lead to trouble, so Vi being small enough to take cover on the ship and watched Alucare get taken. Knowing he wouldn't be killed off that quickly especially since Lyra seemed to have a vendetta against him and wanted to prolong it.
• So once sure the coast was clear she set off to rescue Alucare and make sure they didn't get killed.
• Weeding through the security to make sure it was light for the escape. She met up with Alucare and a grew of blue haired twins- Later learning they were The Buggy Twins.. Which sounded familiar but she didn't want to think too much on it.
• The teenagers managing a narrow escape from the Marines and setting off to the sea- truthfully without a true plan and only wanting to save their own asses-
Tumblr media
• "Where is my Bounty?!" She said screamed looking over the stack of new wanted posters that had been delivered- it had been a week since the Marine Ship incident and Vivian didnt see a wanted poster for herself anywere! Groaning into the table as she felt the papers being yanked from her hands.
Alucare looking over the posters and snorting a laugh. She glared at her peer as he stared at her..
• Despite all of this, Vivian is probably the best marksman of this era- A true devil in her craft as she can hit any target bullseye. The Marines hadn't forgotten her nor her abilties on the navel ship being forgotten... as it seemed the reason the ship seemed to quiet was that the Marines later found 63 men with perfect bullet holes in their forehead well stashed away on the ship.
"Maybe you have too low of a Bounty?-" Alucare teased, earning a harsher glare from the red head who smacked him in the head with a spoon which he got pelted with perfectly on thw forehead-.
Clearly wanting to mess with her as he reached into his shirt picket and slammed down his own, Vi snatching it quickly and damn near hissed as she read the paper-
'GOLD GAZE' ALUCARE
Updated Bounty: Formally 50,000,000 Berry
Wanted Dead or Alive
Current Bounty: 85,000,000
'Gold Gaze' Seriously?" Vivian sighed at the choice of Nickname. Alucare shrugging as well-
"Well I didn't pick it.." He defended, the twins now coming up to see what the commotion was all about. Alucare sharing his wanted poster with them-
"Not Bad!" Bee said and him and Alucare shared a high five- Weirdly the two seemingly growing close in a chaotic lawful and chaotic evil sort of way..
"Your guys bounty is higher" Alucare pointed out which Dee shrugged at.
"Yeah but you got a better Nickname then us-" Dee said- As the three repeated 'Gold Gaze' in a series of different voices. Vivian staring at them all like she was in a sick form of hell...
"I hate you guys..."
• Shanks of course keeps track of Vivian, even if she's out on his own he had eyes and ears everywhere.
• It seemed the marksman of the Pirates had made sure security was light-
He smiles brightly and starts to laugh hysterically- He didn't know if this was some sick form of Karma or the universe repeating itself-
However that morning it seemed to be the newspaper that informed him- Opening up he went to see what new thing was happening his eyes widening at what he saw.
New Pirates on the Scene!
🌅 The Sunset Pirates! 🌅
Marines say they disapeared and appeared with the rise and fall of the sun-
Including In the Crew-
- Dee Dee The Jester - 150,000,000 Berry
- Bee Bee The Joker - 150,000,000 Berry
- 'Gold Gaze' Alucare - 85,000,000 Berry
And New Pirate {Unknown Name- nicknamed}
'Crimson Shot' - 85,000,000 Berry
- Wanted Dead or Alive -
Shanks shook his head, recognizing his daughter's skills immediately and the rough sketch of her as well- He knew her identity would be revealed soon enough. However that didn't matter, if anything it would boost her credibility.
"Good Job Vi- You did it.."
