Thinking bout the time someone yelled at me because they didn't understand butches.

#feeling some kind of way about telling queer stories lately #and what makes something “queer enough”#which. in my opinion is that any story I tell is queer enough because I am a queer person telling stories about queer characters #but there are always going to be people who call that into question if boys arent kissing boys and girls arent kissing girls #in easy uncomplicated ways #looking glasses is meant to be messy #everyone is at turning points in their lives. they're young adults whose identities and relatio ships aren't fully formed yet #but those complications (in my opinion) are what make the story queer #what are dess's pronouns? she/her but only because she hasnt had a chance to think about anything else #when an overbearing mother got her daughter back after they were missing for years #she might have a hard time adjusting to her child maybe not being her “daughter”#which is queerer: two women getting together or breaking up?#i dont think it matters #but I find these in between spaces interesting to explore #and it's my story that I'm doing for free #so even if dess looks too much like a man #i dont owe it to anybody to conform my story to someone else's expectations #(long ramble that probably isnt very coherent)#(i've just been thinking about some of this stuff lately. and this is the funniest response I've ever gotten to the comic)#(like yeah. she is a girl. good job!)#(i dont often get hate on the comic (which I'm glad for) so whenever I do I find the types of hate really fascinating)#(and dont worry. this is an extremely unpopular opinion in the osc and like everywhere actually but i hate it when people excessively hate on "mean" characters. like especially when the characters are otherwise well-written and they just hate them because they did some bad shit. its legitimately so annoying

#characters are not real people with real morals and treating them like they are kind of misses the point #yeah antagonists exist. just because they were mean to your fav doesnt mean you need to hate them with a burning passion #i dont know how to express this as clearly as i want to but you guys treat characters like they're real people and they're not #again i really cant express how much it pisses me off when people act like ''mean'' characters shouldnt be in the show or even exist #i see people unironically say that all the time and its INSANEEE #me personally i like it when characters turn the bitch meter all the way up to 11 and have little to no redeeming qualities #and its fine if you dont but dont act like im weird for liking those characters and then incessantly shit on them #convinced people who do this have 0 maturity #and i'd wrap this up with ''tiktok/twitter is a place'' but i see this on tumblr too #nobody is innocent!!#this isnt just about trophy either btw this is about silver spoon and cabby and nickel and other ''mean'' characters i love #9 pm rant about fandom bullshit lets gooooo #k talks

Lmao remember when I was stressing a few months ago ab having to change my primary care dr bc my old one was out of network?

Yeah he's OFFICALLY out of network and is moving to a new facility/hospital network thing that's I believe private practice. I mean they might take my insurance, but I'm gonna take this as a sign to just move on and find another dr sgdgdgdgdggd

I mean it sucks that I still need to find a new dr, but at least this time it's completely out of my hands and not a "I chose the 'wrong' insurance" thing. Like he said "see ya suckers 😎👍"

So problem half solved? I guess?

#darktalks #well i fucking got what i wanted. huh. that sure was a modular armor system #overall i liked it a bunch! kassandra is very fun as a character #i liked the mystery of the cult and i really enjoyed the friendship dynamic with barnabas and herodotos. coupla pals goin on a ship #Speaking of! i liked the adrestia. i liked sailing around and i liked ship battles #i think it's because it's scaled back in comparison to Those Other 3 in terms of weaponry and addons and what have you #so it didn't feel like if i was falling behind if i wasn't dedicating ALL of my resources to the ship all the time idk #the maps id say were right on the border of excessively bighuge but i liked how varied the scenery was #not just between greece and the dlc2 areas but between different regions of greece #and the mythical beast/monster encounters were a nice level of challenging that broke up the monotony of fighting other humans #more on the story i like how personal they've made the plots of orig and odys. it really gets you feeling for the protags right away #it's something that also happened with ezio and connor for example. but syndicate and black flag (especially black flag) are kinda lol lmao #even still in AC2 the motive was ''hunting assassins'' not ''hunting YOU specifically'' so to some degree it was still impersonal #it was cool seeing darius in action but dlc1 parts 1 and 2 felt a bit more eh to me #i think it was just because fast travel in makedonia and achaia was a bit of a pain #dlc2-1 also felt a bit overlong because of how many factions you're helping. 2-2 by comparison is super short (but sweet).#2-3 made me want to kill aita all over again. i have mixed feelings on the isu :thumbsup: Aletheia can hang #this is not the games' fault of course but after Hades (game) seeing all these ''gods'' just look like taller humans is a bit of a flop #(let's not get on how much of an idiot they made hermes of all people)#the further rpgfication of equipment and abilities felt like a chore. what the fuck do you mean ''+17% assassin damage''. be serious.#from what ive heard that's something very much still present in valhalla BUT ALSO there's a stamina bar?????? wherefore dost thou do this.#i will say i missed having an animus database. which was also missing in origins? like ik there's the discovery tour but it's Not the same.#i liked the RW segments well enough. something something blonde woman and protagonist with isu artifact smth smth two nickels #kind of a flop moment to not finish off the literal Biggest Problem for the assassins when you had the chance Layla :/#to valhalla we go

short list of things about adaptations and reboots that betray a mandela effect about long-running fiction and that keep me up at night:

1.) cw nancy drew gives nancy's mom's name as kate drew, but that's never been stated in any canon source material of the nancy drew series (ie the main and primary 80+ year running series) and is actually just from the her interactive video games

2.) one piece live action has zoro state he's the first mate of the straw hat crew when zoro has never been explicitly called the first mate by anyone on the crew in the original series for 20+ years and is just referred to as "the swordsman"

#if i had a nickel for every time these 'technically not true but it's really not a big deal that it's changed' details happened #i'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice #but also wild to me that you can sort of tell these things that come up in the script were just the result of #misremembering something or really quick googling that wasn't done thoroughly #but yeah i'm sure this happens in adaptations a lot #is there one for twilight?? i feel like as detail oriented as the script was #melissa rosenberg never really missed a bit or assumed something about the text #that didn't turn out to be true somehow
