i just saw a gifset of that scene in the loki series where he does a bunch of random theatrical moves in the hopes that it will activate the time-slipping and all i could think about was 'yes this is definitely the most powerful sorcerer in asgard, the guy who studied his craft for over a millennium' and i just sighed. goodbye loki who was a multi-faceted, fully realised character. hello comic relief loki who does bizarre dance moves in front of another person fully believing that it will activate random mystical powers.
#it's just so jarring when it is directly juxtaposed against the gifset of loki brutally fighting multiple dark elves in hand to hand combat#i get why people enjoy the series#i really do#and i'm glad that they have a series to enjoy#i just wish it hadn't been done to loki#he's been made into a MCU comic relief archetype and it makes me sad#i wish i didn't have so many feelings about it#loki series criticism#anti loki series#bitterness#negativity#will probably delete later

I'm planning on making a few gifsets/edits for the semi finals but I'll probably only post them near the contest date

Congratulations to Never Let Me Go for being the second drama to get the highest rating from me this year. Currently preparing my mind and body to be insufferable about it forever.

I've actually already started-#(list of things I did BEFORE finishing NLMG tonight:#1. downloaded the episodes to cherish and protect in case the downfall of internet is tomorrow/other disasters#2. bought a replica of Nueng's necklace for the price of two croissants in the not-very-legal market#3. included a shot from the series in a special gifset#4. had heated mental arguments with the people making negative comments about it#5. .......... considered giving FUTS another chance out of gratitude to PP (not sure yet but just the fact that I gave it a THOUGHT-))#//#well now that being said#I'm kinda disappointed there are only 2 new dramas in the annual list that got the ''I will definitely rewatch this'' badge#last year there were 3 BLs alone. not even counting OTHER genres!!! and in 2023 I watched many MORE dramas!!! what is this!!!!!!#was I unlucky. was I going after the wrong stuff. I keep thinking about that.#but there were also a good number of dramas that got the ''I might rewatch this'' badge#and even the ones I didn't really enjoy were important to give me perspective/parameter#so... no time was wasted. and I was doing what I like to do? so I guess it's ok...

making episode gifsets for me is just making an absurd amount of gifs and then spending days trying to arrange them in a way i find aesthetically pleasing until i give up and get it to ‘eh i guess that’s okay’ territory and hit post in defeat
#i am not kidding abt absurd numbers#maybe 1 in ten gets posted in the end#me posting character gifsets is just the leftovers i made for something else#(i may edit the colouring but that's it)#i don't actually really enjoy making gifsets of just a character's face for no reason#i mean sure fine but#eh#anyway i've been rotating gifs for Days and i'm close to throwing in the towel and posting#lol#doesn't help that the episode is so Dark#i like a good mix of light and shadow#but the composition has to balance#and... yeah#i am a perfectionist and i never use that label in a positive way
