#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#lan wangji#jiang cheng#wei wuxian#Spoilers: It was Wei Wuxian the whole time!#Once again this one was on the chopping block but I saved it for just a better comic flow.#Admittedly I do have a critique of the pacing here. Namely that we really should have ended the flashback when WWX fell.#And then gone back to present time for a bit - or even go to a different flashback.#The sense of time passing isn't as strong as it *could* be.#We get *told* three months pass and that they've been looking for WWX. But to the audience it's been...15 min.#Less than seven minutes if you count the flute playing.#This guy when through a whole aesthetic and persona shift in less time than it takes to walk through a corn field.#Guy who listened to less than half an emo album and dyed all his clothes black. And jorted all his jeans.#Timeskips can be sudden and work out just fine! I personally feel like this one would be stronger with better pacing.#Feel free to disagree with me!#In case anyone is wondering why JC and LWJ are still holding hands: 1) Haunted house episode.#2) I needed to practice drawing hand holding at some point. Might as well get the rough and sloppy ones out with these two.

i'm tattooing a reschedule again today from october (!!) but she asked if she could get some extra flash while we're in the shop today and she just wants black linework and i'm literally going to kiss her for being a gift from the universe to meeeeeeeee

#ask#non mdzs#My health journey has been: Hernia -> acid reflux -> Vocal pain due to aforementioned reflux -> chest infection.#I'm terrified to know what's about to hit me next. Please let it be something kind. PLEASE.#The consequence of living with linguists is that you'll wake up with a wacked up voice -#suddenly you're sitting you down in front of a program called something like Praat having your shimmer and jitter levels calibrated.#They gave me a GRBAS of 33012. I have a fun thing called a pitch break where a whole octave just does not exist.#My vocal pain was bad enough I ended up seeing a speech pathologist and that whole experience was super neat!#I learnt a lot about voice - to be honest I might make a little comic on it after some more research. Fascinating stuff.#For example; your mental perception of our voice modulates the muscles of the vocal folds and larynx.#meaning that when you do have changes (inflammation = more mass = lower frequency)#your brain automatically attempts to correct it to what it 'should sound like'. Leading to a lot more vocal strain and damage!#And it gets really interesting for trans voice care as well - because the mental perception of one's voice isn't based on an existing sampl#So a good chunk of trans voice training is also done with the idea of finding one's voice and retraining the brain to accept it. Neat!#Parkinsonial Voice also has this perception to musculature link! The perception is that they are talking at a loud/normal volume#but the actual voice is quite breathy and weak. So vocal training works on practicing putting more effort into the voice#and retraining the brain to accept the 'loud' voice as 'normal'.#Isn't the human body fascinating?#Anyhow; Now I have vocal exercises and strategies to reduce strain and promote healing.#Which is a lot better than my previous strategy of yelling AAAH in my car until my 'voice smoothed out'.#You can imagine the horror on the speech path's face. I am an informed creature now.#I'm my own little lab rat now. I love learning and researching. Welcome to my tag lab. He does!! As much as he hates to admit it, they mean the world to him and he wants them all to be happy. Not only because of what they've done for him in helping him not hate the world anymore, but after all they've been through themselves.
Even if it meant he wouldn't see them anymore, he couldn't stand the idea that he was hurting them by keeping them trapped with him y'know? If you love somebody you have to let them go and be free. But also, maybe he could come and visit sometimes if they moved out? Or they could visit him? Please 🥺
Thankfully it doesn't come to that though, they like staying outside the castle sometimes for a little break but none of them plan on leaving, it's what they all consider home <3
Or, as Dust would put it if Nightmare asked, "we haven't paid rent in like 6 years, what kind of idiot would move out??"
#UTDR#Ask#Anon#Dust puts it very practically which helps when Nightmare's getting in his head about their wellbeing lol#They don't have to worry about rent or bills or food or anything they pretty much just have to do chores#Laundry dishes vacuuming and the odd mission are a small price to pay as far as they're concerned#They ARE getting better about saying when they want things. ...well Killer's getting better at snitching on them when they have wants#and won't speak up about it themselves but y'know. close enough#That's kind of how I imagine this whole thing started in the first place#Killer reports to Nightmare when one of them won't say there's something they want or need#Because Nightmare wants them to be happy and Killer does too (and he also wants Nightmare to make him the favourite)#And at some point Nightmare stopped and realised there was no one to report what Killer wanted#So he asked him outright and that's how the Color thing happened#So we've come full circle lol#Anyway they would always find a way back to him one way or another. you're not getting rid of us that easy old man!!!#Thank you for this!! friends tell me lore about a tattoo of yours
#my 3rd tattoo was a very very big one#like from my armpit to my upper thigh big#it was meant to be done over 2-3 sessions bc it also has lots of shading#we did it in 1 over the course of ~10 hours#because i ‘sat like a champ’#which is code for 'dissociated while lying down for the entire time'#the artist is the (now) husband of a friend of mine and he says they still talk about me (ten years later) at the shop lol#no numbing cream two small breaks looking bored the entire time#i still pride myself in it and wish i’d still have the same pain tolerance like i did back then man#best i can do now is 2h before i get whiny#anyway. it’s a giant jellyfish with no deeper meaning i just thought it looked sick af (still does)#another one is on my thigh were i let someone practice on me bc i had a crush on this person back then#halfway through i was like ‘you’re kinda really bad at this’#so they were like ‘you do it better then’ so i ended up finishing it myself lol (i dare to say i did a better job)#i bought a tattoo machine and ink and needles and stuff after this#sitting in a box under my bed still#moots be honest would you let me tattoo you yes or no#i’m really gentle i swear#anyway. gimme tattoo lore bc i need some distraction omwh#-`♡´- tulip mail
