So I saw your tags about how the Ravenel series is a bit mid, and I don't disagree despite liking some of them a lot? Marrying Winterborne was my first intro to Kleypas, and it fucks real hard, I love it. I have a soft spot for Chasing Cassandra because I enjoyed Tom in previous showings, and I found their dynamic compelling.

But I didn't even finish Ethan's book because I couldn't be arsed, and I bought West's and wished I hadn't I was so incapable of getting into it. Anyway, this is all to say that you're not wrong, and are in fact generally right.

(In positive news tho, re: Marrying Winterborne, never gonna be over the scene where she agrees to fuck him and then after she's in the bath and he's like "I'm changing her agreement" before realizing "Oh shit, I've made this woman panic, fuck shit". Anyway, have a great day.)

Marrying Winterborne DOES fuck so hard, and I think that because of this, the series in general gets a strong rep than maybe it should...? Because in terms of popularity, I think Rhys is absolutely up there with some of Lisa's top heroes--people like me who prefer her older books love him, people who prefer the Ravenels adore him (generally). I don't think I've met a Kleypas fan who doesn't love that book, though I'm SURE some don't. And you do really need to read Cold-Hearted Rake for the background of MW (the first time I tried to read MW I did it without CHR and was like "this fuck is this"). I wonder if this is why CHR gets so much flack? Even though, and I will die on this hill, it's PROBABLY better than Devil in Spring and definitely better than Devil's Daughter and Hello Stranger? (I really need to give Chasing Cassandra another fair shot because I remember very little of it; I think the one-two punch of Hello Stranger and Devil's Daughter, two of my least favorite Kleypas books, made me very burned out when I read it.)

Ethan's book was very disappointing to me because I actually was very excited about Garrett as a heroine beforehand. And I do.... wonder if Kleypas changed plans, the way she famously did with Scandal in Spring. Because there's a scene in... MW I think? Where Garrett and Tom have like, an arm wrestling moment, that makes me wonder if the original plan was Garrett/Tom. Again, I need to reread Chasing Cassandra to really experience THAT pairing again--but I do think Garrett/Tom would've been more interesting than Garrett/Ethan.

I mean, HS was also fucked from the jump because it had that really racist "Ethan got his sexual education from an exotic Indian woman" thing, which shocked people into calling Kleypas out, and I think triggered the Great Kleypas Editing Hackjob. Which, by the way--it does speak to how much name and expectation matters, because while what Kleypas wrote into that book is absolutely awful and unacceptable, I feel like it's portrayed as this shameful anomaly when I can think of at least one smaller name (but still notable) author who wrote a historical with a MUCH worse depiction of India around the same time. Which doesn't excuse what Kleypas did, I just dislike the idea that Kleypas was the only one doing that in the 2010s, when that's faaar from true. Historicals still haven't figured that out, and sometimes I think the recaps of how the Hello Stranger issue was handled read very "look Patrick, we saved the city" because the biggest name got dogged into apologizing/editing. Either way, Hello Stranger is mid without that content and it's gross with it, so I usually put it at the bottom of my rankings. Either way, it ain't up to par and I can't judge it fairly in its edited form at this point.

Devil's Daughter is just Not Good. And I will take my lashings from everyone who loves that book, because everyone loves Kleypas soyboy West Ravenel, and I just have to say--do these people like THE BOOK? Do they like PHOEBE? Because everything I see is all about West West West and even if I was into West, which I Am Not, I feel like there has to be more to a book that's being upheld as one of her recent bests than "I love him". Sorry, the plot of DD is boring at best and lame at worst. Phoebe hates West because he was her dead husband's childhood bully, and I do mean childhood? And sorry to Phoebe's dead husband, but he's dead and fictional and I never met him and I don't care. And West is a less interesting Leo Hathaway. He stopped drinking and realized booze was giving him the dad bod, so he's hot now (my kingdom for a dad bod historical hero). And now he's boring because he's not a rake anymore and has responsibilities, but like? He just sounds like a fuckboy before his redemption lmao. Like a bit of a wastrel. Leo Hathaway was out there crying in a public sphere and giving great advice to Kev Merripen like "if you don't get with my sister, one day you're gonna wake up covered in tears and your own come and realize you have nothing but regrets" to which Kev goes ".... is that what.... you do...?" Leo Hathaway readily admitted to waking up on the regular covered in tears and semen. That's a true wreck.

And Leo is in itself the softer Kleypas hero type--other "redemption" heroes are like, Sebastian, who kidnapped his wife's best friend and threatened to rape her! Derek Craven, who was born in a drainpipe and fucked for money for years (not that this is anything to feel bad about, but he does) and owns a degenerate gambling hell lol. John McKenna, who comes to find his childhood sweetheart with the explicit intention of like, filling her belly with his fetid seed and siring a bastard on her so that she'll be humiliated forever I cannot. Why would I be impressed with West going "I was kind of a loser tbh" YOU ARE FINE. THIS IS BORING. GIVE ME ANOTHER THING TO CARE ABOUT.

But yes, I love that scene in MW so much. To me, a lot of MW's charm is that Rhys severely does not know how to talk to women, or romance them in a tender way (him fucking shit up with Helen with the flower situation is hilarious sorry). And he also does get legit douchey with Kathleen, lol. He very much gets a little threatening and is all "SO YOU WANTED A BIT O' ROUGH" and Devon has to do a mild Westcliff moment. Kleypas heroes: always mad when their best friends get sexually aggressive with their women, always ready to forgive after like a week.

You really like the savage Edna mode Bob on winter?? Nooo 😭😭 I hate it so ao much. The spicy Bob right now is cute and cunty but that edna Bob has to go. I still prefer the layered bib on lisa especially if it's a lighter color. Idk if ypu were around for izone chaewon but Ling haired chaewon is the real deal. Chaewon and Michelle 😍 ( Michelle is the name she gave to her black extensions btw)

i love that bob style 😭😭 i even had it myself (minus the bangs) :p i think winter looks pretty with the layered bob too but i just find the savage one more fun and youthful on her ? and i think it looks cute on lisa as well (although longer is still #1) !!! chaewon is an exception for me tho bcs i think the layered look works wonders for her 🤩 and honestly i think i prefer it even to the long hair on her (she has like completely different vibes with long and short hair, and she looks sooooo sexy rn 😵‍💫)

ooh!!! I just love how passionate you sound when talking about this!!! (And yes confrontation is absolutely awesome)

I know about Jekyll & Hyde, Beetlejuice(actually listened to only some of the song but I think I know part of the plot?) And six. And heathers(again didnt listen to all of the songs but I want to. I already know thee plot as I was spoilered tho).

Out of all of these I think my favourite is Jekyll and hyde!!! And yeah, I definetely prefer the concept album, although i think I like one song from the official on broadway production but I cant remember the name of that song)! Eeee i love talking to people about musicals!!! I think my favourite songs are How Can I Continue on, Lisa Carew, Board of Governors, His Work And Nothing More, Alive, Murder Murder and The World Has gone Insane!!

If you want any Musical recommendations I really like Ride The Cyclone! Its about six dead teenagers in some sort of limbo and its actually pretty funny(and gay). But its also sad :(

haven't listened to any musicals in a while, but some of my favourites are

jekyll and hyde: the gothic musical thriller (and i am talking about the concept album, that has anthony warlow interpreting jekyll and hyde. the official on-broadway album is kinda meh imo)

so like. the producer of the musical was disappointed in the original gothic novella written by robert louis stevenson (the strange case of doctor henry jekyll and mister edward hyde), so they decided to make a musical about it, adding thier own vision, some new characters and subplots etc etc, while still following the main plot

main plot that is about Henry Jekyll, a silly doctor that wants to separate the good and evil from one another, hoping to eliminate all evil in the world in the process. while his intentions are good, the results of his actions aren't as good <\3 there's more to it, of course, but silly spoilers i guess- tho i can tell u more if you wanna, just let me know!

as for favourite songs we have i need to know, lisa carew, board of governors, bring on the men (tw suggestive), alive and the girls of the night

also good and evil (this is like. the only song i like from the OBC recordings)

Tender and Satisfying

He often realises a little to late that he’s been neglecting you, he will earnestly try and make it up to you

I like the idea that, despite him being very knowledgeable and well spoken, he gets a bit tongue tied when talking about love. Prefers to show his love through actions instead

Very much enjoys the feel of your lips, he’ll either keep you both connected for as long as possible or continuously press gentle kisses against your plush lips

You forced your legs through the shin-high snow, urging yourself onwards. The warm, inviting, glow from Albedo’s make-shift laboratory cave was in sight. You were returning to the cave, having left hours earlier to collect a few samples for the Chief Alchemist.

You shivered despite your thick mountaineer clothing. Even though your scarf was pulled up over your nose your breath still felt cold against the cloth. You held an arm above your brow, cursing yourself for losing your goggles. It was hard to see through the falling snow without them, but you managed.

“(y/n)!” Albedo called out as you entered the cave. He was in the middle of fitting his own gear, he threw the thick coat he was holding to one side as he rushed over to you.

“W-were you about t-to.. to h-head out?” You shuddered between the words and pulled your scarf down. Your breath was visible, your cheeks pale from the cold and soft snow painted your eyelashes white.

“Of course-“ he frowned, cupping your cool cheek and wiping the snow from your lashes. You tilted your head into your lovers warm touch, sighing pleasantly. “I thought something may have happened to you..” his soft voice was laced with worry.

“I-it’s fine- I have a good s-survival skills teacher.” You offered him a teasing wink, but he only met you with an unimpressed look.

“Perhaps you need more lessons. Where are your goggles? Did you loose them again? If you’d been out there any longer you wouldn’t have been able see at all and-“ Albedo ranted and scolded you continuously, you closed your eyes as you listened, pressing your cheek further against his hand.

“(y/n)!” He called your name again, this time in exasperation. You opened your eyes to frowning face, his brows furrowed in agitation.

“I-I know.. it-it won’t happen again.” You offered him a weak apologetic smile. He simply sighed and took your gloved hands in his.

“Come on. Let’s get you warmed up.” He didn’t wait for you to respond as he pulled you further into the cave to the campfire tucked in the back. You went to sit down on your warm sleeping bag in front of the fire but Albedo stopped you.

“Undress first.” He said flatly, already pulling your gloves off your shaking hands.

“B-bold today, aren’t we?” You grinned cheekily, but once again he met you with an unamused glance.

“You can’t wear these cold, damp clothes.” He sighed, moving to unbutton your coat. You laughed breathlessly at your own teasing and helped him undress you. It didn’t take long for you both to strip you of your thick outer layer of clothing until all you were wearing was your dry under layer.

This time it was Albedo who sat down first as he grasped your wrist and pulled you into his lap, causing you to gasp in surprise. He wrapped his arms around your cold form hugging you tightly, his chest pressed firmly against your back.

Everything about him was warm and comforting as you leant your head against his shoulder and let your eyes fall shut, the heat from the campfire warming your front.

“I’m sorry.” You whispered gently.

“Just.. be more careful next time.” He sighed, his hold around you tightening. He buried his face against your cold neck, his warm breath tickling your skin pleasantly.

You squirmed in his hold, a small whine escaping your lips at the feel. He pursed his lips against your against your skin, teasing a kiss before pulling away.

You turned slightly, so you could face him a little easier. He pressed his forehead against yours, a soft sigh escaping him. He parted his lips to say something, but the words died on his tongue. Instead he opted to press a tender kiss on your warming lips.

His sincere gaze drew you in and you met his lips half way, sharing in an achingly soft kiss. His lips shared their warmth as they moved slowly against your own. Your whole body thrummed in response and he tighten his embrace, unwilling to let you go.

Venti:

Joyful and Sweet

Very into kissing, but more for the meaning behind each kiss - greetings, goodbyes, haven’t seen each other in a couple of hours? Quick smooch again-

Any excuse to kiss really, lots of quick pecks as you pass by each other while working

Would probably kiss your hand a lot, he’s got that charm and flourish. I can imagine he (and Zhongli) use outdated terms like paramour, instead of partner/gf/bf/etc

The breeze that blew through Windrise tousled your hair gently. You made your way through the long grass until you reached Barbatos’s State of the Seven before the grand tree. It had been a long, tiring day and you simply wished to meet up with your joyful lover.

“Venti-?” You called out for him, rounding the statue and making your way under the tree. “Are you already here-?” You called out again, looking around the large roots which protruded from the ground.

“Of course!” A cheery voice spoke from above you, accompanied by the soothing strum of a lyre. Before you could look up the wind whirled around you and Venti glided down from the canopy.

“I would never be late for you my muse~” he grinned happily, landing gracefully beside you. You laughed lightly at his silliness, your worries feeling like less of a burden after simply hearing his voice.

He outstretched his arms out to you with a cheery smile stretching ear to ear, you couldn’t help but smile back warmly as you placed your hands in his. You assumed he was going to embrace you, but instead he pulled you forward and toppled backwards.

“Ah!” You gasped as you both fell to the ground, the thick grass cushioning his fall as you landed on top of him. Your hands clutched his shirt, as his hands set gently on your hips. You both gently bumped noses, laughing playfully and shared in a quick kiss.

“That’s better.” He grinned impishly. “You looked ever so gloomy as you made your way over.” He raised a hand to cup your face, his slender fingers caressed your cheek tenderly.

“I feel much better now that I’m with you.” You admitted with a gentle smile, a light blush dusting your cheeks. He beamed up at you in response, his hand on your cheek leading you down until your lips met in another kiss.

This one longer but just as gentle and sweet. One that was full of all your love and affection for each other. You let your eyelids fall closed, your arms moving around his neck as you pressed your body against his.

He hummed against your lips in response and rose a hand to the back of your head, threading his fingers through your hair and playing with the strands.

You only wished time would stop as you held each other under the shade of the tree.

Cyno:

Thorough and Ardent

Personal HC is that Cyno is actually quite soft when you’re alone, and his usual stoic self when others are around

Says he doesn’t like PDA but will press long firm kisses against your lips and glare at anyone looking your way if he’s feeling jealous in public

Going back to the soft HC, he’s definitely an aloof puppy - he’s desperate for your attention but he just doesn’t want to appear desperate. You can tell anyways in his subtle movements

As you made your way down one of the many grand hallways of Sumeru Academia you cradled a bundle of books in your arms. You dodged skilfully out of the way of busy-minded scholars and students. Some attempted to stop and talk to you but you simply grinned a quick reply, telling them you were rather busy and scampered away.

“Wait, (y/n)! I have a question about-“ someone called from a distance away, but the rest of the sentence was cut off as you frantically ducked around the corner and into a stairwell.

“This way.” A new voice said languidly from a small dark passageway beside the staircase. The voice’s owner reached out, pulling you forward.

“Gah-!” You gasped as you were pulled awkwardly into a bare chest, your face smooshing against firm muscles as you tightened your grip around your books instead of catching yourself with your hands. Flustered heat coated your cheeks as you realised your embarrassing position and looked up to see the Cyno coolly gazing down at you from under his jackal-eared hood.

“Cyno!” You felt like you could cry with happiness at the sight of your rather elusive lover. He always appeared just in the nick of time to pull you away from ravenous students.

He put a finger up to your lips, shushing you as he pushed a tired, worn looking door open from seemingly no where in the passageway and quickly pulled you inside.

The room was almost pitch black, spare what little light leaked from a small window. He trapped you against the now closed door, his arms braced either side of your head as you both froze in place.

He pressed his body against yours, his lips brushing your ear. You suddenly felt unbearably hot as you flushed at the closeness. The sound of your quiet breathing mingled as you both waited to see if the student had noticed.

“Ah.. (y/n)? Where’d you go..” You heard the students voice cry out in misery, followed by quick footsteps disappearing up the staircase.

“Phew.. thank the Archons.” You sighed in relief, letting your head fall back against the door. Your eyes met Cyno’s amber cat-like gaze and you noticed he was giving you a deadpan stare, you grinned sheepishly.

“I mean.. thank you Cyno.” You corrected yourself with a quiet laugh. His lips upturned into a small satisfied smirk at your words.

“You’re welcome.” He whispered gently as he lowered his head, nuzzling against your neck. His breath tickled your skin, causing you to shiver delightfully. He pressed his lips against your skin, insisting a soft gasp from you.

“Wait- Cyno-“ you squirmed, trying to angle your neck away. “I need to get to my next- ah!” You gasped as he nipped your neck, cutting off your train of thought.

“Stay with me.” He pouted and trailed his hands teasingly down your sides. “You’ve been so busy lately.” He sulked, then pulled away to gaze down at you.

“Just for..” you started to speak as he lowered his face to yours, his lips tantalising close to yours. “..fine.” You laughed gently, giving in easily, and parted your lips in anticipation.

He smiled sensually then brought your lips closer, brushing them together delicately. You chased after him as he pulled back until he took them again, this time more passionately and insistently.

You gave a low hum of pleasure as he slipped his tongue passed your delicate lips and desperately sort every inch of your mouth.

You soon decided you did not care if you were late to lead your next lecture, and would rather be canoodling in this hidden room until someone finally noticed you were both missing.

Scaramouche:

Possessive and Unapologetic

Soft scara in this house? Absolutely not. This man hungers for your submission

His kisses are harsh and unrestrained, he’ll suck and bite until your lips are swollen and bruised

A sadistic man through and through, if you’re willing to bend your will to him he’ll gladly feed both of your darkest desires

“Scara’?” You called, wrapping your fist against the door. Hearing a vexed murmur of a ‘come in’ from inside, you opened it and entered.

The man you called for sat comfortably on a sofa, though his expression was anything but that of comfort. Numerous reports lay skewed and ripped on the cushions and on the floor, his lips pulled into an irked snarl.

You’d already heard of his subordinates failures. Many of them came scampering to you, begging you to try and soothe your lovers anger. So here you were, throwing yourself into the lion’s den.

Or perhaps it’s more of a honey badger’s den? Big attitude, small body, completely unafraid to go up against a lion-

“What is it?” He hissed, his violet eyes staring you down. His voice tore you out of your thoughts, much like how he tore up another document, not even bothering to glance at it as it fluttered to the floor.

“I heard about their failures..” you cleared your throat, closing the door behind yourself and stepping further into the room. “I’m here to check up on you.” You breathed a laugh as he eyes narrowed at you and he only ‘tsked’ in acknowledgment.

You wondered how you should go about this; you could soothe his anger, you’d done it before. But when he was worked up like this all you really wanted to do was appease his irate state.

“Scara’-“ you started, but he placed his hand over your mouth cutting off your words. He placed his other hand beside your head, balled up into a fist against the wall. Leaning forward he pressed his body up against yours, pinning you up against the hard surface. His lips rest by your ear, his hot breath fanning over it.

“Yield yourself to me.” He voice was husky and full of hunger, he nipped harshly at the tender tip. You let out a soft, needy whimper against the palm of his hand. He removed his hand and mimicked the one pressed against the wall, eagerly awaiting your reply.

“Yes..” you said breathlessly, chewing your bottom lip coyly. “Use me to your liking.” You pleaded softly, your own shameless words making you squirm against him.

Your eyes flickered with a burning desire, you were more than willing to offer every part of yourself, if that would be enough to sate him.

He nuzzled against your ear and inhaled deeply, pulling away with a satisfied smirk. Your begging always fuelled his own urges until he felt he could no longer contain them. Your breath hitched as he slowly dragged his lips down your neck, resting them on your collarbone.

“A-ah!” You cried out as he sucked the delicate skin harshly, pulling away slightly only to return as he bit the same spot harshly. You shivered in delight at the pleasurable pain, knowing a deep red mark would soon blossom in its place.

Satisfied at his mark, he drew his hot tongue over it before moving away from your neck. Your gasping, parted lips were far to enticing as he decided to indulge himself further by capturing them in a kiss.

The kiss was rough and feverish, with a devouring intensity. His hand fisted your hair, tugging harshly as he kept control. Your moans were muffled by his bruising movements, leaving you breathless in his unrestrained kiss.

She’d purposefully left it ajar so that anyone who walked by would see your precarious position.

“Oh my, you really are just too cute today~” her words were honeyed as she leant forward slowly, gently claiming your lips. The simple, delicate touch sent shivers through you.

You let your eyelids fall as she deepened the kiss, every part of your lips connecting as you both changed angles, thoroughly tasting each other. Your hands gripped hers desperately as her knee rose higher, finally pushing between your legs naughtily.

“A-ah!” You broke the kiss as you cried out at her unabashed movements, your flustered blush turning your ear red. She laughed prettily at your reaction before recapturing your lips.

Turning to look back at her, you meet her alluring gaze as she took your hands in hers and lead you further into the room.

“Oh?~” you replied playfully, letting her lead you until you were at the bed. She boldly pushed you down against the mattress, your back meeting the soft quilt. “What do you have in mind?” You bit your lip suggestively.

“To indulge myself tonight.” She whispered hotly as she climbed onto the bed, leaning over you tauntingly as she straddled your hips. You swallowed thickly, resting your hands on her sides. Your desire filled gaze met her own as she braced both her arms beside your head.

“You’ll let me.. right?” She wet her lips slowly and voluptuously as she waited your reply. You you inhaled sharply at her display, unable to take your eyes of her pursed lips, you gripped her hips tightly.

“Because you never let me win-“ you whined with a pout and narrowed your eyes at her in mock anger.

“What’s the point in playing if I’m only going to let you win?” She sighed like you’d said the stupidest thing ever and studied you, her crimson eyes searching yours.

“Besides, you challenged me knowing you were going to lose.” She chuckled as you continued to pout. You’d never won and she’d never lost, so really your secret plans to pull her away from her work were doomed the fail from the get go.

Still, simply playing Liyue Millennial with you meant she was technically away from her all consuming work. You knew that she never passes on a chance to play so it was the only option.

“You can return to your work now.” You sigh, still sulking. You rest your head against the back of the sofa, closing your eyes. She said nothing, all you heard was the sound of her high heels tapping against the floor as she stood up. The sound rounded the table until it stops next you to.

You opened your eyes again just as Ninnguang sat down beside you, she reached forward to rest her fingertips against your cheek. Her clawed fingers digging pleasantly into your skin as she manoeuvred your face toward hers.

“Or, I suppose I could reward you for almost besting me.” She smiled softly, her fingers stopping on your pursed lips. You partly opened them in a silent ‘oh’, your eyes widening at her suggestion.

“..and you did successfully entice me to take a break.” she ran her index finger over your bottom lip as she gazed at you from beneath fluttering eyelashes. You weren’t sure how a stressful (for you) game of Liyue Millennial really counted as a break but you weren’t about to question her.

“Do I.. get to pick my reward?” You swallowed thickly, your hot breath warming her fingers.

“Of course..” she smiled coyly, leaning forward ever so slightly.

“Then.. I want you to kiss me.” You tried to sound bold, but the corner of her mouth simply upturned in a smirk.

“How predictable.” She whispered hotly, before pulling your face forward.

Her plush lips brushed against yours delicately, teasing you as they moved slowly with your own. The feeling of her lips ignited a warm heat inside your body, you tilted your head to deepen the kiss.

She too wanted more as she moved quickly, kissing you more firmly. Your lips moved together eagerly, both of you letting out soft sighs and gasps as the kisses grew deeper still.

Her hands lay flat against your legs, her body pressed firmly against your side. She rest her hands on your knees, before teasing her fingers up until they your soothed over your inner thigh. You broke the kiss as you gasped breathily.

Your skin felt hot under her touch, and your desire for her was overwhelming. As you pulled away from each other you noticed her expression was much more controlled, her gaze flirting with yours as she cupped your cheek again.

“Ninnguang-“ you started, but she cut you off as she captured your lips in another kiss. This one slower, but no less passionate.

A list of my thoughts on Omnipresence Over Mortals, spoilers obviously--

-On the one hand, delighted because we got both confirmation of Signora Crimson Witch AND her true name, her kickass boss music(which maybe shared a leitmotif with Childe’s did I hear????), confirmation of a Sheet Heat-esque mechanic, AND from her expressions, implication that maybe she feels a bit of remorse over people losing their Visions, despite remaining adamant they were a ‘necessary sacrifice’, even giving us a chance to back down from the battle and leave. (Or perhaps it’s just how much I love female villains who are morally grey and rely on Violence And Arson over seduction coloring my perceptions. Either way, Playable Signora When!)

-On the other hand nooooooooo Signora died I wanted her to reunite with Bloodstained Knight. And also roll her. The second I heard it was a duel to the death I was very sad-- and then got distracted by Crimson Witch confirmation and kickass battle music.

-On the anomalous third hand, goddamn she still insists on going down fucking fighting. Like, kinda futilely since the Fatui already had the Gnosis by then, but good job Signora. I love you you have butterfly motifs and they represent reincarnation, please come back.

-On the increasingly alarming fourth hand, there seems to have been at least three days between Yae doing hostage exchange with Scaramouche, and Signora doing diplomacy with Raiden. Was there not enough time for Scaramouche to report he had gotten the Gnosis and for the Fatui to be withdrawn, or did he just not bother to tell Signora because he didn’t like her? He did refer to her and Childe as his ‘least reliable colleagues’ (’Least reliable, despite Signora being the one to gather two Gnoses, and being seemingly more active than him in pursuing a third. Is it just that they’re impulsive and emotional, or does he really view them as weak or foolish compared to the other nine Harbingers?)

-On that note, I have a feeling that that bone marrow... it’s probably gonna come back, as will how he seemed to be using the Traveller’s anger to fuel... something. At first I thought he was just kinda being an arrogant little shit, but he was purposefully baiting us. I’d say clever, but observing the Traveller’s dialogue options... they’re kinda ALWAYS two steps away from snapping the nearest Fatui’s neck, honestly. So it really isn’t that hard.

-Also, that Ei cut ties entirely with Celestia by giving up her Gnosis years ago... it wasn’t the lore I was hoping for, nor was the reason she was gathering Visions ultimately the one I was anticipating. I was kinda hoping that she’d realized Celestia could spy on people through their Visions, and was confiscating them so they couldn’t see shit about Inazuma. But her cutting ties with Celestia, and confirming that Khaenri’ah is a major motivation in halting Inazuma’s progress and creating eternity... is still interesting. That’s four for four Archons who want nothing to do with Celestia so far. (Since Dendro was promoted exactly 500 years ago, VERY curious what their stance on Celestia will be, I still strongly believe Sumeru will be a major turning point somehow.)

-I love boss fights where you just have All The Buffs. I also love that the end of the fight was just... Yae refusing to let her friend keep sulking all alone. I would have preferred an Ei who was a little more morally dubious, but I still like the version we got. Loneliness and loss fits with the themes of prior archons and does a lot to humanize her-- as does Yae comparing her to a child throwing a fit and locking herself in her room.

-Also... Baal and Beelzebul. The former Archon ‘Baal’ really being Ei’s twin sister. Damn. I didn’t expect it, but I should have. There wasn’t much direct foreshadowing for it, but there’s been such a strong theme of siblings this entire game, and the Archons have such a strong theme of grief and death. It only makes sense the themes would collide in such a way for ONE of the Archons. And likewise, them both being ‘Baal’ explains why there’s never much distinction made in the books and history between the present Raiden Shogun and the past Raiden Shogun. Because from the people’s perspectives, they were probably extremely identical and always assumed the same name and role. That said... it leaves me wondering if it’s foreshadowing Abyss Twin or the Traveller dying, as Ei and Makoto have been the only other set of twins we’ve met so far.

-We should ask Ei about our twin. Watch as she realizes the kind of loss Traveller is going to, and attempts to make amends for trying to kill us by ripping a hole straight to the bottom of the Abyss.

-I like Ei. :) I am happy she is still alive. Even if Signora was not.

-You know what’d be even better tho? If her Gnosis were still in her body and we did keep the Fatui from getting it and we befriended her and then in Snezhnaya Celestia calls the Archons to assault the nation and we see Ei in her puppet body but now another is pulling the strings and we have to fucking fight her again but this time she is Our Friend and doesn’t wanna do this and Tsaritsa uses her as an example of why she was gathering Gnoses while Ei physically strains against Celestia’s bonds and--

-Also that walk, after killing Signora while slowly leaving the Tenshukaku.... that was so fucking creepy, I was wondering if the Tatarigami(?) was still affecting the Traveller and gonna make them ill. It did an excellent job conveying their mental state. And that cutscene with the resistance and Kazuha! A bit sad he didn’t really get any lines, he said in the prologue he’d ‘seek answers from the Shogun too one day’, I kinda wanted him to at least ask after his friend.

-So I guess Teppei’s just gonna die of old age huh. The resistance stuff at the very beginning felt a little rushed, I did see that Teppei was advancing through the ranks Weirdly Quickly, but it could’ve been cool if he tried saving the Traveller from some danger and Traveller realized ‘Hey what the fuck? What’s my friend doing with a delusion? How’d you get that, Teppei? Put that down, we need an infirmary and we need to tell Kokomi’

-On that note-- if using a Delusion aged the resistance at an excelerated rate... why don’t Childe and Diluc look all that old...? Does having a Vision protect them somehow? If the manga is still canon, did using a Delusion age Crepus Rangvindr into dust?

-Signora please come back you were at Sumeru Academia you can tell me all about Sumeru while we wait for it to be released, let’s chat Old Mondstadt and Cataclysm history, Signora-- please Signora, please elaborate on your voicelines and maybe we can get you a good therapist--

-Also who is Lesser Lord Kusanali? I thought Dendro Archon was a he, but Lesser Lord Kusanali seems to be a she? Was the God of the Woods the he? Is someone other than Kusanali the Dendro Archon? But also as a fan of Marielda, oooooooooh FUCK YEAH KNOWLEDGE IS HOARDED KNOWLEDGE IS A RESOURCE LET’S BE KNOWLEDGE SMUGGLERS LET’S GO

-I wonder if Vision distribution is also restricted in Sumeru-- since Lisa seems to have uncovered some Forbidden Knowledge about Visions, and Knowledge is a resource, perhaps it’s also heavily restricted who can get a Vision-- and if Dendro wielders are pursuing knowledge in some way, they’re even smaller in number to prevent them from finding out Too Many Secrets...?

-Also, Lisa character quest act 2 as prologue to Sumeru please?

I may have forgotten some things I found interesting, and I have not yet played Ei’s Character Quest.
